We are going to showcase the PlayStation 5 version and the Nintendo Switch 2 version at the,

I mean, back and forth the same time throughout the same stream. Can we talk about the setup that the team is. Right now, everybody, yes, you are looking at the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Resident Evil Requiem. But watch this. I just go, bam, and now Elgado loads, and it loads, and it loads. It's loading. No. We're looking at the PlayStation 5 version. That's how quick we can do it.

And then I've got to go through these dead at each DimeIs, and then I'm back, and Nintendo Switch loads up here. I'm very excited for this one. As you know, Mike, I have reviewed Resident Evil Requiem. He did review it. He gave it a 9 out of 10, an amazing score here on Kind of Funny. you should go check out that gamescast from yesterday and I played my entire version on the switch so I'm excited to show

you in the audience the switch in motion but I still have yet to see it on a PlayStation 5 so to play it and jump over and compare and get dressed I'm very stoked very cool and as you know Greg I played all the way through Resident Evil 9 by by myself before the week I wasn't on the games cast yeah but I played it on the PlayStation

5 exclusively so I'm ready to see it on the Nintendo Switch 2 that you've been playing it on so we both have now beaten the game we've played the game on both respective consoles. We'll be bringing in a different eye to talk about what we see, how's it running,

Very early out, the beginning of the game. So you won't get spoiled on anything at all. These Cap plays are like an hour or not. And we're going to be jumping across. You're not going to see anything. This is about the technical comparisons, let alone me and Mike finally get to talk together about what we think on content. But more important than that. A traditional experience.

with a difficulty similar to classic Resident Evil games, recommended for long-term fans of the series. The big one to highlight there, Greg, if you go back down to classic, is the ink ribbons. So if you want to save, you have to find these ink ribbons in the world. I never like that. And so that makes it different. I ended mine with like 95 saves files.

So, you know, I was saving a lot. And in classic, I don't think they were going to let me get away with that. Throw it up in a monitor. Yeah, be mindful of what you're choosing when you jump in. But right here, I think you see, this is when I started and I was like, oh, then I make a mistake. Right, look at his beard, look at the, not clipping, but the way their shoulders are meshing with the world. Okay, okay. However, this is similar

to what I just talked about on the games cast itself when we were looking at another game, the, ML will be the show. And people are like, why do they look so bad in suits? And it's like, well,

the game's not made for that. When you get into the actual game, I think it's a different story. Here I'm talking about her hair. Not a fan of how her hair. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're going to notice that on the PlayStation 5.

You'll notice it. Really? The hair's bad on the PlayStation 5? No, it looks better. Oh, it looks way better. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so if you see Grace doing her job here,

and this is where we just immediately come in, like, Grace is in anept FBI agent. Why are they giving her so much to do? I love that. We walk in, we're like, Grace. Some things are going down. She's not paying attention.

We need you to get on it. Yeah, I'm here. My office. Damn. That's how I get Kevin for his meetings, too. Okay. I go, Kevin? Kevin?

My office. She's not a good FBI agent. I'm just saying that. But I'll tell you what. Confetti craze is a good five-hour energy drink. Cotton candy? Delicious. Let me smell.

Got it, got it, got it. Kevin Super Shaston says, Can't wait to play this. Taking a half day to play tomorrow. Also, for cough, try Flonase twice a day. Loanase twice a day. And this part, crazy. Like, you know what I mean?

Straight out of horror movie stuff. I'm like, listen, I need you to go to where your mom was murdered. It's not for you to confront your fear. Jen was like, why would they do this? I'm like, it's got to be he's a bad guy too or whatever. But again, switch to looking good. And wait until we get in the gameplay, because I really do think gameplay is where it is. And this is all running natively on the switch.

Remember, back in the day, they brought in Resident Evil, and they were like, oh, we got a cloud version of really up it up. So, like, that's cool that it's so strong now. Got it. Kevin, they're saying game audio is a little low. Can we get that higher for them? Oh, sorry. I'm so used to you right there. Barrett, chat's saying Game Audio's low.

I love you, Kevin. I'm sorry. Kevin, we're working on the Resident Evil stream for a barrow. Not that I've heard, no. I like the start of this. Yeah. Very cool. Very fun intro. Ramberman says, does the switch get hot?

In handheld, it never did. I'm not, I've never been touching it. Okay. Over here. Ultra BMW saying, wow, this is the switch. This is impressive. Yeah, see? And wait until we get going, because this is really where Jen was like, oh man, like, the leather looks good, the water looks good. Yeah. Granted, right now you're just

looking at, you know, a cut scene, but when we get playing in here a second? What a game, though, Mike. Did you play in handheld? Oh yeah, a lot. Yeah. Yeah, I really... Grace Redwood. I didn't think I would play in handheld.

Okay. I was very much like, oh, this is a TV thing, this is what it was, but it's traditional. You know, Jen was like, hey, I want you to come to bed tonight. I don't want your loud ass waking me up when you come up later, come in and lay in bed and play. Can I tell you what I'm excited for you to experience on the PlayStation? Yeah. That dual sense. The HD Rumble is...

But I mean, all right. I mean, move right now. It's rating. Like, it feels good on a... Okay. It feels... They got the Rumble going, but, but, like, I... Like, this is like, it feels like it's rumbling everywhere.

Yeah. When you play on the dual sense, it's like, it's like going up in that. Yeah, they do a really good job with that. I was impressed. It's subtle and it carries to the entire game and it really is a nice touch the entire time. I was really impressed. Missing. People are missing people.

And it's awesome because there's no missing content. It's just Resident Evil. Yeah. Like there's nothing. I'm so used to way, way back in the day of like, oh, this handheld version, ah, it's missing a couple of things. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's the full game, which is impressive.

Very impressive. And again, like I said in the review, I know not everything is, not everything is apples to apples, but this is really going to go on my list of examples when something does look like shit on the switch to, to be like, what are we doing? Yeah. Resident Evil crush this. Why is it? When everyone has doubts on third party games, you're like, well, hold up.

They're delivered here. Roger's always talking about WW2. 2K25 and expecting the same from 2K26 and how well that ran on Swick. Yeah. But right here. She's like, oh, here's my FBI, I'm like, you have an FBI badge. Oh, your FBI? You knew you needed that, John Sina.

Investigating all these strange deaths. I called him John Hamm, that's funny. I thought he looked like John Hamm. So, Mike. Yeah, great. I know right now in the papers, the dirt sheets. We got you hosting the review for Resident Evil,

blessing Andy Variety next week. Yes. I don't care about ruining that content here. What would you give Resident Evil Recruit on the kind of funny scale? Yeah, Greg. You're going to host that one. That's their time to show. Of course, of course.

We're going to talk about their marathon stream, the shenanigans, and their thoughts on the game, which will be a little bit different because it will be a lot of screaming and shouting between the two of them. But for my time, 12 hours on PlayStation 5 had one heck of a time. I really think that this is the ultimate Resident Evil experience. They've learned and shown so much from the remakes of two and the, three and then like blending four with the action adventure mixed with seven and eight with the horror side of things. This is going to go down as one of my favorites of all time for Resident Evil and I gave it a 9.5.

I wanted to give it a 10, but I just felt like like there was just there was something there with boss battles and like kind of in the middle of the game where it's like, okay, this is just a little bit of not what I wanted here. And so yeah, I'm excited to talk more. I really can't wait to see the fans' perspective because I know a lot of them were looking at the story of two people and how you would intertwine that. They do a great job. It's like, will they nail that? Will it be bad?

I don't want this. I don't want that. So I'm really excited to see the players' perspective because I think they did a great job with both of them. The horrifying nature of grace of like, I've got no power to the power fantasy is fulfilled with Leon. And I'm kicking butt. Yeah, 100%. But, yeah, I think, you know, again, a testament to how much I like this game.

Yeah. Right before we went live here, of course, you know, there's certain rules with an embargo for what you can show and what you can't do, right? And so we needed to start a new game, not a new game plus. And so I went in there and it was, oh, even when I started a new game, it was like, hey, you know, your things you've unlocked are going to carry over no matter what. Yes. Oh, and I thought about wiping my save entirely.

Oh. And just rolling and saving. I'm like, you know what? I still, this is a game I could see myself tinkering with. You know what I mean? And Resident Evil game is always great for that replayability. I can see myself tinkering with it, doing stuff that way. So I went and just created a new user on the place.

So I could make sure I do that. Muggots. This is one of the few games that I've played. And, you know, me and Madeline Stanley were talking about it. I was so energized afterwards with how much fun I had that I wanted more Resident Evil in my life. From games to movies, the show, this is probably one of the few that I will run back and play again on stream. And I don't do that. That's great.

Even though I'm not, you know, we know how busy we are. In another world, it would have been I would do this and I would want to go platinum it or on switch or unlock everything. Now, Mike, you say the word when you want me to switch over because we can do it, as you saw in a good 15 minutes segment of going, dig-d-d-d-d-d-k. Yes. We're about to switch over in just a moment when we get into the next gameplay. But I've been looking at this. I'm truly impressed. I cannot believe this.

I thought it would be a larger step down than the PlayStation 5. And this is pretty close. This is pretty close to write on the money. Cooper says, sorry, this is the Switch 2 version. Yes, everybody, we are playing on the Nintendo Switch 2 version of a Resident Evil Requiem right now. This is where I played my entire. Again, game clock said 10 and a half hours. That can't be right.

That can't be right whatsoever. What do you mean? I feel like I played longer than that. We all talked about how our game clocks that popped up at the end of the game. We're like, that can't be right. It said for me 10. My PlayStation's clock said 12. when I tracked all of the videos that I shot with it.

I thought I was up in like the 15 area. But I think it does. This game does a really good job and just keeping you focus and keeping you moving forward. I do think it's a pretty quick pace. It feels like there's blocks that are 90 minutes to two hours. And that's like the block. And it's like, all right.

Take a deep breath onto the next thing. How scared are Andy and Blessing going to be? They're going to be terrified. I'm truly so excited. The grace moments are truly terrifying. They nailed the horror. They nailed. There's a couple of moments in this that are going to be talked about and celebrated in like the, oh, wow, they captured the scaries for a long time.

And it's going to go down there. You know, I think about the dollhouse and eight that we always talk about, the opening sequence in seven. There is that in Resident Evil Nine for sure. Oh, put your hand in there. Ew. I'll take it a stomach virus. Hey, do me a favor. Let's pause.

Let's go to PlayStation now. Okay. Pause this. Go to PlayStation. Take me over there. Let's see what this looks like. Now we're going to start it up on PlayStation. This is my first time seeing it how it is.

This is up and running on a PlayStation 5 Pro, which means I should at some point probably jump in and make sure we're doing the performance over whatever. The lockdown extended to 2040. So far, I don't feel like I made the wrong choice

playing on Switch. I did okay, you know? I went with the convenience factor. Yeah, okay. Now, every time I got a trophy on Switch, I was like, damn. Yeah, you were like, oh, I'm missing out. That could have been me.

A lot of trophies popping for you. There's a lot of trophies. A lot of trophies popping. Very rewarding on that. I'm gonna skip the cutscene. I don't say, I think you've seen the cutscene. You see the detail. They all look good.

The character models and the cutscenes look great. Before we can start walking, going here, options. Get deep in there. Graphics. Ah, HDR, retracing, oh, it can only be changed from the main menu. Well, whatever. More movement in that awning. You can see that right.

Oh, yeah. You can see that right. You can see that right. I mean, that awning's getting its business going. Pretty close though. Yeah, no, no, no. Like, truly pretty close here. You'd have to spend a lot of time nitpicking stuff to really...

Luckily, no one nitpicks on the internet. Yeah, to point out a hundred different details. I'm sure everyone will be super cool with everything. Don't worry, um... $10.00.60. Seems like a lot for a pack of cigarettes. Is that the going price for cigarettes, Kevin? More than that now.

How much it costs a pack of a cigarette? Twelve bucks. It's not as, I thought there'd be a noticeable difference in smoothness. I don't think they're, you know, the little bit of catching I had on Switch. I'm sitting here, it seems like. She's back. What about the dual-sense speaker, Mike? There is a dual-sense speaker capability in the game. There will be some yakkin coming out of it if you choose to. I did turn that off just because I was wearing headphones.

So, like, you know, that's just kind of speaking to the wall if I'm not listening to it. So I turned mine off, but I do know. man named Roger Percorny who did play with it on and he said it was definitely yapping at him. I don't know if you know this but Roger's a huge dork. Yeah, he doesn't, yeah. He plays on his living room television with his loving fiance because

he has someone in his life and I'm just alone in a basement just lights off, headphones on, playing this to my heart's content. Some would say living the good life. A lot of people would say you have to say you have a lot. I'm living the good life. When Rogers done pain for that wedding, you ask him how that fell. You know what I mean?

I'm feeling now Was it worth it? Could have eloped. Friends, there's footprints. Yeah, all right. Do I sound different? Do I sound different? My headphones, though.

I, man, I am even hotter on the Switch 2 version now jumping back here. Now that you jump back. Especially going side by side. See, I saw a little bit. I saw a little bit. You can see it, yeah. Okay. But it's not bad.

It's not bad at all. Solid Python says in the chat. Yeah, Digital Foundry said the difference between base PS5 and Switch 2 aren't that big besides the hair. Okay. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Head to room 2 and 4. And this stuff. How good does it feel playing this game?

And the door is locked, and then you come back 30 minutes later, you got that thing. You're like, yeah. I wish I could draw you a map right now of all the fun that I've had where you go somewhere and you're like, all right, great, good job, Mike, you're going this way. And then you notice back behind you on the menu, you're like, oh, like, there was a safe back there, like, but I'm never going to go back there. I'm too afraid to go back there. Yeah.

And then the game is like, you're going back there, buddy. And I'm like, oh, you got me so good. They are, the team over have Capcom has shown that they are a master, the master class in level design and this like horror maze building that is just so much fun to navigate, find your own pass, put together the clues and the puzzle pieces on what's next. I can't get enough of it. Yeah, 100%. I think, again, what I said in this review, I don't know if you watch, Mike, because I don't know if you're trying to stay fresh.

I did watch. Okay. You know, I talked about hell as us last year. I was like, this was a master class in game design. And you come back and I put this in that exact category of how much fun it is to be, like, playing the game and have this. And then, okay, this opens up and then all this opens up and you, but you got to come back here. And like I was saying in the later sections of the game, treating it like a rogue light.

Where I'm like, all right, cool. I'm going to get it and just go in a run to get this one thing and come back and save. Then go get this thing, come back and save. You know, I talked with Tim about this when I saw him. It's just like Resident Evil 2 and 3. All the Resident evils have these, right? And it's just so much fun that Capcom has nailed

this. And this one in particular, with grace, it's horrifying the entire time. Right? I think, like, with Leon, you get the power fantasy and you become the ultimate soldier. But, like, With Grace, I found myself crouching almost 80% of the time when I was navigating at walkways. And I'd find myself, I'd be like, why are you crouching, Mike? Like, get up and walk.

But I was so afraid that I would crouch the entire time walking around these allways. It's horrifying. Yeah, 100%. Especially when you're playing that hide-and-seat game. And you're always searching. Always searching. There is one thing that I can't wait to talk about, Greg. Today or late, off-line.

But, like, I mean, there's something. And if you know Mike, you know what it is. That's what kind of excited that I got. See, Capcom, that's not a spoiler. It's not a spoiler. You get mad because you have to know Mike to know that. So Chris Ank understands what's going on. Yeah, you get a fun.

You know it. Every time you bump into an obstacle, you're like, oh, shit. I get excited. I'm like, oh, nice, we're going to have some fun out there. I don't want to die. There's some gruesome deaths in this, too. There are some gruesome death sequences in this. right up there with like a mortal combat
