this company refuses to promote to promote
go to kind of funny dot com slash store right now you can buy your copy
if you're watching live I'm giving away one in the twitch chat right now
because I waited on the phone with city bank for 43 minutes
here we go the credit card should work now
they say. Can somebody please fact check?
I've locked the button of how many
actual championships this man has. This is it.
Well, I mean, the shirt says it all for the world champion
T-shirt, of course. It's going through. If you're in the Twitch chat
right now, you can enter us doing that.
Show them the back bear. That's my favorite part. World two
are right there, 2026. 9-4, Pax,
West, Seattle, Washington. 9-12, blizzcon,
Anaheim, California. 10-12 to
16, top 100 games. San Francisco,
California, November 14,
Rogers Wedding, New York, New York.
All right, can we just see you at that fourth one? That's
a fun one. Is there? Are you going to celebrate with me?
at the wedding? I mean, what does
that look like? Do you have a plan?
That means it just like how top 100 is
the pre-show to us doing the parade,
the team orange parade.
Rogers' wedding is the pre-show to you and me
at that reception slash after party.
Oh, okay. Making Rogers' mom carry me around on a
chair. Oh. You know, you
had me at first. Other people can help. You can help too.
But I want, it needs to be
Roger's mom right here. Has Roger approved
it? Why would I talk to Roger about approval
his mom? What kind of weird family do you have?
You know what I mean? The venue was at his wedding.
You know, or had his reception,
which is more appropriate than the wedding itself.
But you already know what this reception is going to be like, all right?
A bunch of people bored out of their gores.
If you're bored at a reception, you're doing wrong.
They're going to sit there.
They're going to be pushing the cake around with their forked me.
Like, what could, could we have something fun?
And that's when I grabbed the microphone.
I say you probably didn't know you were in the same room as royalty.
And then I'll turn to Raj and they probably didn't know because you refused to promote the t-shirt.
You refuse to make, you know what I mean?
it's that thing how many times how many
championships do I have to win
yeah but part time you know what I mean
that's the problem with team purple
yeah you can't have two halves of team purple
you can't it's make it's make it
Andy out it all the time make him do it but he doesn't
want to be on all the time you gotta be on next time
we do it you got to hide it that's the master of hype
snow bike Mike I bless it's great to see you homie I really
like this old watch Jackie you're wearing thank you big dog I'm
channeling my inner bless I bought two jackets this here because of you
really one and one before that looked like I was Leon
from Raccoon City
I love that for you.
And this one, we got to make him wear.
This is a whole conversation on the WISCon panel.
Yeah, second time wearing it.
He's doing it.
He has to commit.
He can't just buy it and throw it away.
Yeah.
I mean, dude, don't throw it away.
Just give it to me.
I'll throw it in the dryer a few times.
I'll get it to.
He'll get that.
You're going to shrink that jean jacket.
I'll shrink the hell out of that jean jacket.
Also joining us is the best voice in the business.
The one and only, Paris Lilly.
Good morning, gentlemen.
You know, I miss you all.
We miss you.
Yes, I need to see you in person.
Every time I talk to Paris.
you know what he says what's that?
I got to do more stuff with you guys.
I'm like, yeah, what about games daily
this day? He's like, no, sorry, I'm on a work trip for three months.
I'm like, I don't know what I, what do you want me to do, Paris?
Hey, I literally was.
I was in the great state of Kentucky for like two weeks just recently.
So I hear you.
How much bourbon you have?
But a lot.
Yeah, that's my guy.
And it was needed.
Hell yeah.
Of course, Paris, you're joining us because today's episode is all about the kind of funny,
fancy critic check in.
Of course, if you're watching live, you can be a part of the show by super chatting
and over on YouTube.com slash
Kind of Funny games.
Remember, we couldn't do this
that our producers
over on Patreon.com slash
Kind of Funny.
So thank you to Omega Buster,
Delaney the Psalm Twining,
and Michael Pezzavento.
For now, let's begin
with topic of the show.
It's our fantasy critic
check in.
I got a super chat question
for those watching live.
Who's your prediction
on who's going to win at all?
Greg, what's the link
that people can go to to see?
Kindofuny.com
slash KFle.
I'll go oh godfrey.com slash league.
That's like we drop you right on to our what year of this?
Five?
Sixth year doing this?
I think this is our sixth year.
Yeah, six year.
Yeah,
because we started doing it when I joined the company.
So that was 2020.
So I imagine this is year number six.
You brought it.
Come on.
I changed so much at this company.
You did.
Of course,
go to kind of fun at com slash league.
If you want to see the page for our fantasy critic,
if you're unfamiliar with fantasy critic,
it's just like football fantasy critic where,
instead of doing football team.
Football fantasy critic.
Fantasy league.
That's what I was like, that's not where I'm saying.
It's fantasy football.
We are a very athletic focused company.
They don't have football critics.
Wait, is fantasy football not about what the critics are saying about the football?
No, it isn't.
Believe it or not.
It's about the stats of the players.
What they actually do on the field.
No, fantasy critic is where we bet on games and how well they're going to do on, not
Metacritic, but Open Critic, which is like Metacritic, they're a bit more open.
A bit more reviews are counted on Open Critic.
We each assemble teams and whoever has the highest average critic score.
wins the league at the end of the year.
We started our draft at the very beginning of the year
where we draft a certain amount of games.
And then over the course of the year,
we have 100 big dollars that we used to bid on games
and acquire games for our teams.
Of course, if you're unfamiliar with it,
you should go back and listen to our episode
at the beginning of the year where we do the initial draft.
Always fun.
That's going to bring you most up to date
with what is happening and what the teams are
and all that stuff.
But this is the check-in.
Now, of course, like I said,
Let us know who's your prediction on who's going to win it all.
I'll start here with a super chat from at Resolute who writes in and says,
allow post-release trades.
Think of it as trading card packs.
You're picking games as packs, but you can trade the card polls, reviewed games, as well.
Now, this one comes in, I believe as a reference, to some shenanigans, I'd say.
What's been doing that?
That some people in the league tried to pull.
What were those shenanigans?
Mike, you tell me what those shenanigans.
You know, let me get on the phone.
Oh, Roger?
Yeah, yeah.
This is my buddy Roger over here.
He's calling, he said, you know, Mike, these weren't shenanigans.
These were fair and honest trades of two games that we would like to have trades.
And we thought that this was an open trading market.
We thought there was no regulations, no rules, no tariffs.
Where did this come from?
Can you tell me the two games that y'all were trying to trade with each other?
You and Roger?
Yeah, I think I tried to trade super meatballs.
No, no, I tried to trade Forza Horizon 6 for Yakuza Kawami 3, which I wanted to pander to the audience.
I'll explain my reasoning for this one.
Yeah, sure, of course.
I wanted to pander to the yaku.
For the record, Yakuza Kami 3 has a 74 on Open Clinic.
Yeah, it's because I want people to know.
Forza to have.
That's a really good question.
Let's see.
Forza has a 91.
Oh, yes, that's an interesting trade.
I wanted to pander to the audience to let them know I'm a yakuza guy.
And here soon enough, I will play all the yakuzas and I will own the yakuza space and push
Roger out of it here for this company.
And so I just wanted to kind of make that clear
this year. And so that's why that trade
went through. Not because of any sort of points
or any sort of shenanigans. And you decided
do you want to do this like a what, about a month ago?
Yeah, not pre these games coming out.
No, no. Way post these games getting
their scores. You know, bless
in the science space
that I'm from, you know, as Kevin will tell you,
science goes far. You got to experiment.
You got to press buttons. You got to try things.
You got to see what will break the machine.
But this isn't science. This is math.
Our goal was to push the fantasy critic to its limits by doing a trade of games that had already come out with scores.
It wasn't on the math side.
It was just to see would the system allow it?
And it turns out, Bless, the system would allow it.
I try to make this league fun.
I try to make it fair.
And you and Roger come through and try to break it every year.
You know, bless, I don't want to put it on myself for drafting a full team on month one like an idiot.
and throwing the content, as Roger said,
and being out of the conversation for an entire year.
But, you know, maybe it was my fault
that I drafted a full team a month.
That was tough. Yeah, maybe you shouldn't have done that.
Yeah.
Now, he still drafted a pretty good team, though.
Thank you.
And we're going to talk about that team.
We're going to talk about each of the teams one by one.
Of course, there's eight people participating in our fancies to critic league.
Those people are Tim Geddies, Mike, me,
Andy Cortez, Barrett Lillie, Barrett Lillie,
Paris Lillie, Barrett Courtney, Greg Miller, and Roger Picornie.
We're going to go team by team
Starting at the bottom
And I'm going by actual points
Of course your scores are highly determined by what games
How many games you have on your team that are actually out
And so this isn't really going to be a display of
Who's actually in the lead
Who's going to win the whole thing?
Sure sure sure sure
It's just a display of what's happening right now
A lot of game left to play
So starting at the bottom right now
Jesus Christ
In eighth place is the one and only
Roger Picorni
publisher named
Barrett is my best friend
their actual points
they're sitting at right now
is a 60, 60 total fantasy
No way they can win this
No way Roger can win this
Now Rogers in a very interesting place
Because only one two three four
Five of Rogers games
Have released yes five more games
Yet to release
The games that have released are
Shills in the Sky second chapter
92
90 fucking two.
Mike, where did he get this idea from?
Yeah, you know, I'm actually on the phone with him right now.
So I am talking with Roger.
And he is very positive on his team.
He's very high on this team.
He actually shook off a lot of trades that I tried to get with him six months ago
because he believed in this team so much.
And it started with Trails in the Sky Chapter 2.
He saw someone else pandered to the JRP audience and stole their swag.
And somebody's not mad at him for it.
I was going to say, Mike, how do you feel about that?
I'm not happy about it.
That should have been my pick.
Because if you remember, this was Roger's second pick here.
He got Grand Theft Auto 6, which put him at the third selection, if I remember correctly.
We rewinded January when we did this.
And so that's two picks away from me getting that.
And I would have secured that.
And I still hold a grudge against Roger for that.
As you should.
For breaking my tooth and for also doing this.
If he wasn't going to pick that up, that was going to be my second round pick.
So if you didn't pick that round one, Mikey, like maybe you didn't deserve it.
It's a lot of ifs.
It's a lot of butts.
It's a lot of why we don't play them on paper.
Exactly.
But I am mad at Roger, but man, bless.
We all are for different reasons.
Yes, Roger.
He says this was a great selection.
And this will pair up so well with GTA sick.
I mean, no shit.
It was a great selection.
Of course, if you are just joining us
and don't follow the fantasy critic stuff.
Remember, for every, for the critic's score,
once you get to 70, every point above,
you get a point positively.
70 below 70.
you get a negative. However, once you cross 90, the points start doubling. Yeah. So as you see,
92 gets him 24 points off of that because we're taking that two up to four. Yeah. And so your goal is
to get those games that are going to be in the 90 range. Um, and yeah, one of the games he has
that we know is in the 90 range is trails. There's another game on there that may or may not
enter that range that we'll talk about in a second called GTA 6. But before we get there,
the other released games he has here are Neo 3. We're sitting at a critic score of 85,
getting him 15 points.
Yakuza Kawami 3 and Dark Ties,
which is sitting at a 74 critic score,
which got him four points.
Orbitals sitting at an 82,
which gets him 12 points,
and Demon Tides,
which sits at an 86, 6,
which gets him 16 points.
Now, a great fucking lineup right there.
A great lineup.
We then move on to the games
that haven't come out from his lineup yet,
being Castlevania Belmont's curse,
Rayman Legends retold,
Dragons Doggne with 2, Darker risen,
Final Fantasy Resonance in GTA 6.
Paris, do you think the rest of us have a prayer
against Roger McCornier's team right now?
We don't.
And I actually want to point out a personal file
that Mike was involved with, with Roger and myself.
Tell him.
I got an unsolicited video call from Mike and Roger
trying to sucker me into giving up control resident
for Final Fantasy Resonance.
and it was some other stuff too.
And I immediately said,
having Mike on this call immediately invalidated it.
I knew you were up to no good.
So no,
I don't even care what it is.
I'm not doing the trade.
But yeah,
to the point,
his lineup is just so good.
And I mean,
GTA 6,
that's at least probably a 92 itself,
right?
Just that game.
So,
I mean,
I know they're projecting them at second,
but he's,
he's my favorite,
unfortunately,
to win this whole thing.
Yeah.
I'd echo that,
right?
Like it projects him at two,
and we should talk about that in a few,
but I look at GTA6,
and you're talking about at least in 92,
I'm thinking like a 95,
96 rate for that.
Probably,
yeah.
And when you think about the points doubling
after 90,
I think that's going to do a lot for him.
I should shout out,
Mouse PI for hire was his counterpick.
That got an 81.
Of course,
for counterpicks,
it's the reverse for points.
And so he has minus 11 points
because of the 81 there.
Right.
You counter pick a game
someone else drafted.
So you look at that draft lineup and go,
I think either this game is not going to be good
or more importantly most of the time,
this game's not coming out this year.
And as far as Roger McCorney counterpicks go,
his best one so far?
Yeah, yeah.
What did he do last year?
I remember he cleared his game three at one point two.
Got his ass.
Yeah.
Could Mouse P.I. for hire be the thing that keeps him
from that number one spot?
I don't see how.
I mean, GTA, if it shifts the bed and doesn't live up to the hype
and yada, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure.
But even then, I think G.
is going to land in the 80s if it doesn't live up to the hype right and so belmont's curse
looks incredibly solid you imagine at least in 80 there rainman legends retold tim won't shut up
about it at least in 80 there dragons dogma two dark or risen i don't know what the original
dragons dogma did i would imagine if this gets enough reviews which it should you'll be in a good
spot then final fantasy resident's going to be one of those great i'm double checking dragons
dogma too right now because i remember that game doing really that got an 87 on open critic
And it's one of those like
The only
You know selfishly amongst us who aren't a part of Rogers team
Like our only hope with that game is like it's so busy
That like yeah maybe it doesn't get enough like scored reviews
Cause I'm still confused right
That's like the ultimate edition
But the darker risen parts of the DLC
This is also coming to Switch but it's just like a new addition
It's kind of like the Witcher remastered
But then there's new content in there
I think this is a DLC expansion
Okay yeah it's getting
Fully packaged onto the Switch port
that's finally coming.
But yeah, it's like the DLC specifically.
There's a super chat that we got in
from
the metal falcon,
writes in it says,
it's between Roger and Blessing.
They'll both finish in the 120 to 130 range,
IMO, but I would favor Roger to win.
Honestly, I don't know if I'm going up
against Roger like that.
But I do appreciate the confidence in my team.
We'll talk about that in a bit.
We'll get to that.
Yeah, we'll come back to this conversation
when we talk about how good blesses to do.
Yeah.
Um,
Castlevania Belmont's curse.
I think that does have the potential to get to a 90 also.
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Because like, have you guys, have any of you played dead cells?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Not like completion roll of credits, but like, yeah, I played it.
That's an incredible game right there.
And you're pairing that with Castlevania, which already also has like a level,
a level of prestige, a level of history when you want to talk about games that score really well,
that critics really love.
I think that could be a match made in heaven for a game that gets.
up there on Metacritic as well.
We had somebody right in
either on the sushi,
the subreddit or somewhere else
because it's Motion Twin is
like overseeing it.
Motion Twin and Evil Empire.
It's the developer there, but Motion Twins like
consulting. They'll collaborate with
Konami and Evil Empire on the title
in an advisory role.
Yesterday I think Tim misspoke and was like
oh, they're developing it where
it is evil empire.
developing it with Motion Twin talking and consulting.
I think that's the same way that Deadcells happened, wasn't it?
Wasn't it?
Both of them worked on dead cells together, and I think it was...
I'm going off of what somebody else said, and these are not my game, so I was...
Yeah, Jack...
Left with...
This is Wikipedia left with one last chance.
Motion Twin developed dead sales.
Yeah, I thought...
What was the other developer?
Evil Empire.
Evil Empire.
See, I thought Evil Empire did a lot of, like, the updates later.
Like, Motion Twin was the original developer,
and then evil empire was doing like a lot of the later stuff.
Who did the rogue prince of Persia?
Great question.
His one of them did the rogue prince of Persia as well.
I think the other one did the rogue prince of Persia.
But there's a lot of me.
Evil Empire did the rogue prince of Persia.
He did, yeah.
Okay.
Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
All right, we got some more super chats here.
Yeah, so I'm sorry.
Evil Empire on their page right now.
Lists obviously Belmont's curse,
Rogue Prince of Persia, Brotato,
then all the expansions to dead cells.
I mean, I shouldn't say that.
The ones that I know.
Dead cells return to Calcivania,
the Queen of the Sea,
fatal falls, the bad seat.
I mean,
the road to Calcivania,
that DLC got a 10 out of 10 for my team.
This isn't me saying they're bad.
I'm just saying yesterday,
I think we misspoke giving too much credit
to the dead cells dev.
Gotcha.
Resolute writes on with the super chat saying,
Bless is blocking the trade to secure a win.
Where is Austin Creed when we need him?
There's also a few people talking about a trade deadline.
I'm just a,
I'm just a Billy.
says Paris for the win.
Also, is there a trade deadline?
And then solo, Andre says,
I think you should add a trade deadline after SCEF.
Okay, here's the thing about the trade,
is that not just me blocked the trade.
When Mike and Roger submitted for the trade,
it pings to all the members of the league,
and it asks you to vote.
And one of the things that it makes very clear
in the voting text is,
if this feels like collusion,
then you should vote no on this.
If it feels like they're trying to buff,
one of the teams and not make a fair trade,
then this should be voted no.
And so I think, I know I voted no.
Barrett also voted no.
I don't know if anybody else voted.
I don't get notification.
If I may, if I may,
we don't have to worry about the trade system.
The trade system is very well done on this.
It's legit.
It is very much like fantasy football,
where everybody gets pinged and you all have to agree on them.
We don't need a deadline.
We don't need that.
Yeah, there was some collusion.
There was some collusion.
Where's going to admit there a little bit of caloo,
a little bit of caloo,
it got shut down.
Don't worry about it.
Little caloo.
A little collo.
Klu.
Let's move on from Rogers' team and talk about our seventh place player.
Currently, Greg Miller.
Hi, how are you?
Who is.
I fully expect to be the dead last.
I was just saying it projects you for it should for eight.
You know, there's a lot to be said for what's going on on my team here.
Yeah.
And we'll break it down game by game.
Take us through it.
Well, I mean, like, I have a.
first off, very happy with my first three picks.
Soros was my number one pick in 87. That's 17 points.
Marvel Tocon Fighting Souls got an 85, 15 points.
And that was when I made that one,
and once it was locked in,
you laughed in my face and we're like,
I don't know about that when we're live on the show.
So I was happy to get away with that.
It was one of my counter,
somebody counterpicked me on that.
And then Colt of the Lamb,
Woolhaven gets me in 86, 16 points.
A great start.
Here's where the heart.
And I'm not even being a character.
Like I often am on these kind of things.
It was that thing of like once in a great, great, great while I give into the Tim Getty's,
why not be spicy?
Like why not be spicy?
And so remember it's January.
We know the steam machine is coming.
We know it's out there.
And it's like if you're going to do Half Life 3, it feels like this would be a pretty great time.
And so it is one of those that my fourth pick was unannounced Mainlight.
a half-life game with knowing what I was doing where either it's going to be it actually
happens and I get to go crazy on a stream when it's announced and act like I fucking stole
fire from the gods or we're here and I just fucked myself but even back then I was like
I can take one zero I can fuck myself on this no big deal then I think I'm getting away with
something picking Pokemon wind and waves which was just Pokemon gen 10 back then because
I'm like it's time in the rotation for there to be a Pokemon.
on game this year. Dodged the bullet on counterfeit it. And then there you go. Boom. It is not happening
this year, which is like, oh, fuck. That's what and like obviously when all the announces are happening.
Yeah. Like, ah, fuck, that sucks. I want to ask a question to Paris Lily. Paris. Was Greg crazy
in picking Half-Life three? Uh, no, he wasn't because I think I was even thinking similar at that time
that if there was going to be a Half-Life three, it was coming with the Steam Machine. And we all thought
it was coming this year. So it wasn't
crazy. It was definitely risky,
but not crazy. Half-Life 3
falls into my long
standing back in the day prediction of the rock
being at Game Wars. It's like a broken
clock is right twice a day. If you
make the same, it's got to happen.
Half-life 3 is going to happen one
time, so why not take the shot? For me, it's the
thing where you're 1,000% right.
I believe Half-Life 3 is
being worked on and one day it'll come out.
But I think the more
we say the words, Half-Life 3,
the more scared Half-Life 3 is.
The more we act like Half-Life 3 is in it.
Don't see it. Don't look at it. Don't make eye contact.
Exactly. You cannot make eye contact with Half-Life 3, then it'll never come out.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's just such a meme.
And so, yeah, Half-Life 3 was me trying to be spicy and maybe thinking I could get something going here.
Pokemon, I thought, well, for sure, I'll get a Pokemon this year.
That's easy money right there.
And then you go into, I thought educated guests.
I thought Replace looked awesome.
I am still halfway through replaced just because of review.
season. I really enjoy replace.
I think a 77's a bit low.
I don't think it's that low overall.
That gets me seven points. Having
played where I'm at with replace, I think
it's low 80s. You know what I'm not thinking
it's something, you know, whatever, but
I enjoy it 77. I thought I was going to get more off of that based on what
we had seen. You jumped to
Beast of Reincarnation. And now I think it's
important to call out. This is where we are out
of the draft. And maybe it was actually
replaced was my first one out of the draft because
it's five we draft, right? Yeah. So yeah, Replace.
is my first one out of the draft, but this is that classic, should you, won't you, when are you going
to do it thing of like, cool, games start getting announced and you're like, damn, do I bite
on that? How many more games are going to be announced this year? When do you actually go and
commit to things? And so beast of reincarnation gets announced. It's game freak. The first trailer we saw
for it looked good. And not, you know, necessarily the greatest thing. But again, I was like,
I'm going to take a shot here. Because if I'm right, this is a cool win. And if I'm not, I,
I get a 72 and I get two points off of it.
It's like, damn, that fucking sucks.
Then you roll into Monster Hunter Stories 3,
twisted reflection, return to the Mostes,
return to Coco.
I had enjoyed my time with two.
I played up several hours of three.
This is, I guess, long,
but I had enjoyed two.
I knew that three would be pandering to the audience
and this thing, so I threw it up there.
In 85, 15 points, hell yeah.
Then Minecraft Dungeons,
Sue, I think by the time I start calling,
no, maybe not.
I think,
Minecraft Dungeons, Sue,
I picked up, tossed out there,
and it was that thing of,
I loved Minecraft 1.
I forget if I picked it up
you had,
you probably picked it up
right after the announcement.
Yeah,
it must have been announcement
because I played at SGF
and I don't know if I would have picked up after there,
not because it's bad,
but my thought process here,
me and Joey loved Minecraft Dungeons One so much.
I was like,
oh,
Minecraft Dungeons 2,
you're doing it again.
That's unexpected.
I bet you're going to add so much,
you know,
you're going to take all the learnings of one
and put them into two.
Yeah.
And again,
the SGF demo I did was
fun and great. I'm looking forward to that game. It's imminent, but I don't think it's going to blow.
I'm not getting a 90 off of that. You know what I mean? But it's also at this point like,
I'm not going to be, I can't drop games anymore, right? I tried to drop something the other day.
It says right there it's top. You can drop. You have no any unreleased, but if something won't
release, you have three of those. The problem is all my won't release games are counterpicked or
whatever. I guess just Pokemon, right? Unless Half Life three, well, even if Half Life three came out and
said, we're not coming. Yeah, yeah, they would have to say, yeah, but I had lost,
drop of just being able to drop for free.
So Minecraft Dungeons is there.
I'm out of running for everything.
So what's it matter?
I'm not going to make them move.
And then yeah, Tomodachi Life, Living the Dream, a 79.
Nine points.
Totally on par.
I agree with the score.
But at the announcement of that and how successful Tomodachi had been in the past,
I was like, oh, they're going to bring it here and really give us something that'll
like get critics going.
And that did not happen.
Yeah.
For context for viewers and listeners, Greg is kind of double-screwed on half-life as far as
not being able to drop it.
Triple screwed.
One, because he doesn't have any unreleased drops left,
but then also because somebody counterpicked it,
he can't drop it.
And then also, Greg still has three drops for games
that say that they're not coming out in 2026.
The problem is Half-Life not being announced.
It's a very low likelihood that they announce it
and then say that it's coming out at a later date.
So Greg is super stuck with Half-Life, which is in great
because, yeah, multiple zeros there, plus no 90s.
I think that's a pretty open and shut case
As far as what's going on
And of course my counterpick was the blood of Dawn Walker
This is a Paris Lili pick on his thing
And it got
Oh we got went down on Twitch for some reason apparently
Oh no we're down on YouTube too maybe
I counterpick this one
I think it's important to remember
How rough draft day is
Yeah draft day is everyone coming out
And picking five great games
It's kind of not impossible
But next to impossible to be like hey
Someone's gonna pick the wrong game
This is, well, no, if you, I think you look through ours, the only good picks are the ones that didn't come out.
And if you remember, Blood of Dawn Walker, uh, I didn't know much about back then.
I was like, well, I feel like that game might not come out this year.
You know what I mean?
I can easily see it's Rebel Wolf's first game.
Are they actually going to have it out?
Where are we going to go with that?
That could have been a game punted, especially with GTA and everything else.
And then also, yeah, I didn't know.
I was not familiar with the game.
I was like, I don't know much about this vampire game.
And then, of course, it became over time.
Well, this is exactly what it was when you picked the,
the Mario 3D platform,
unannounced Mario 3D platformer,
where you're like, hey,
if it doesn't come out,
I'm great,
and if it does come out,
I'm excited because I lose a lot of points,
but I'm excited to get a Mario.
Mario.
I fucking love Dawn Walker.
I had such a great time with that game,
so of course I was already destroyed by this point,
but I was like,
you know what?
Doesn't matter.
I like that.
Hell yeah.
And yeah,
you got a good game out of it.
So congratulations on that, Greg.
But yeah,
I do expect to be dead last
and get number one pick next year
because that's how it works in our league.
I believe you'll get a punishment.
I'm very excited to do our first ever punishment
and will be a lot of fun.
I don't remember that.
I got to go back and listen.
Yeah, we'll watch that,
but I believe there will be a punishment.
I think first place gets a wish
and then last place does get a punishment.
Maybe punishment for Greg.
No,
no orange celebrations in 2027.
Damn.
Wow.
That'd be big.
That would be big.
But then I would just change teams.
Can't stop me.
Yeah, create a new color,
team green.

And we're back.
That's a big moment.
You've never had a Madeline.
You've never had a Madeline.
A Madeline.
Thanks to my son buying a crate of Madeline's at Costco.
Okay.
And I then looked at yesterday.
I'm like, these go bad in like a week.
We got to take them to the office.
It looks like a seashell.
It does.
Yes, yes.
Paris, I assume you're a man of culture.
You've had a Madeline.
No, I have absolutely no idea what this is.
Is this a spongy cookie we never had?
It's like a, it smells like a pound cake.
Oh, that's lovely.
It's cool.
Okay, yeah.
What about you, how you feel?
I love this.
Yeah.
See, I've had them and never bought much of them,
and then I brought this and I had one day.
I was like, damn, this is a spongy, delicious.
They're a nice sweet little treat with your coffee.
Yeah, exactly.
Reminds me of like a twinkie or something.
Exactly.
It's got that sponge cake too.
kick to it. Yeah, without the cream.
Do they have chocolate drizzled Madelins?
They do. Sometimes they'll do like the chocolate on top of one side of them.
Mike, that's the hungriest thing I've ever heard you.
Thank you, I am hungry.
I'm in a star.
How can I upgrade this?
What micro-transaction can I add to a Madeline?
Like a mouth watering as you're saying it.
Let's hop into a couple of super chats.
Cloud Meiser says Mike is pulling a Lane Kiffin with kind of funny fans.
I am, if you actually tracked the Lane Kiffin, I am pulling one, right?
Great team last year, decide to leave it all behind, start a new team.
and now not coming out the gates really strong with this new team.
Maybe next year, Big Dog, we'll see.
And then Mike, like music, writes in and says,
speaking of collusion, one of the guys in both my fantasy critic and NFL
fantasy leagues wanted me to trade him, GTA 6 for Josh Allen.
I said no.
Wow.
I would take that deal.
Of course he would.
Paris.
Josh Allen's going to the Super Bowl this year, Paris.
Hold strong to it.
Swallow us.
Swallowed it.
They're crummy.
They got crumbs.
Paris, right now, you're in our actual
standing for actual points or sitting
in sixth place. It's also projecting
you to be in sixth place. Paris, do you want
to take us through your team currently?
Yeah, so it's funny.
I'm trying to remember my thought process
back in January why I took Lego Batman
with the first pick.
And I guess I had
I think I had some hopium
on that one. To be fair, that game
looked like it was going to rock. I mean, 14 points
is nothing. Yeah, 84. No, no. It's not
bad. But you would think, hey,
I'm targeting something that was going to be
90 plus right?
Whereas I think now that the games come out
that scores about right 84
I think that's right where it should have landed
I'm actually more disappointed
that control resonant is 84
I just knew that was going to be 90 plus
I just assumed that it would be
so as much as we all love the game
that's just the score it is what it is
so I kind of got a little bit hurt on that
Can I say something? Did you see the update
that they announced today? Yeah I was
honestly disappointed
they did that.
That they did it too later that they're doing it all.
That they're doing it at all
because you can go in and tune the combat
if you so choose and I never did it.
I just played it the way it was
and I like that it challenged me.
You know what I mean?
So I don't know.
It is what it is.
They're obviously hey,
they got to sell games.
From a remedy on blue sky.
For the control resident launch,
we are deploying a hot fix
to address enemy health pools
in Dillon's combat strength.
Combat is more dynamic.
Upgrading is made more straightforward.
See, I went the exact opposite way where I'm sad they didn't have this during the review process
because this was one of my key issues with the game, and I think a lot of reviewers echoed that
was that combat balance and the combat.
What does that mean, though?
Yeah, yeah, okay.
The game starts, one, I think the combat gets repetitive over time, and part of that is this.
I shouldn't hear you this.
I think part of it is the sponginess of the enemies.
Like, you get into combat.
And for me, there wasn't enough variety in the combat that then keep me in those encounters for so long,
where I'm just doing that same loop of I know what abilities I'm doing.
know the exact same combo I'm doing over and over again.
And so when I'm 30 hours into the game, it's like, and here's another combat sequence.
Here's another combat sequence.
And it's like, man, I like the combat, but I wish in real time those more stuff to do,
more ways to switch it up.
There's that.
And then I think the difficulty of the game in the first eight hours is way different
from how it feels in 20 hours.
I think the first eight hours of the game are so fucking hard.
You get to hour 20.
I'm killing these guys.
left and right. I'm destroying. I feel super powered and that for me that doesn't feel
balance. I don't know if that's going deeper into this blue sky, right? Is that what they're
doing? They're trying. What do they? I don't know exactly. I didn't look into it, but based off
of the way I read it, like for me, a lot of it is the sponginess of the enemies. And then decreasing
that would tell me that I envision that as making it a bit easier early on for how that feels better
throughout the game experience. Paris is right, though.
that you can tweak the hell out of the game,
which I did for a few moments here and there early on
because I was getting so frustrated with it.
Those options are in the game.
I wish like the core default options though
were a bit finer tuned.
That said, like, I think 84 is also too low for this game.
And I think if they,
I think if this update came out before reviewers,
before reviews came out,
I could see it getting maybe a few more points above 84.
Paris, what else you got for me on your list?
So Gears E Day isn't out yet.
We'll see when when when because what is it?
October 1st.
I guess the reviews will come out on that.
So we'll see what that score is like.
I'm extremely concerned about dustblocks.
Yeah, I don't know if that's coming out.
Yeah.
I got a feeling that's not going to make it this year.
Blood of Dawn Walker gives another one where I thought it was scored too low.
I mean, I obviously loved the game.
That was one that I had had on my radar for a long time and it delivered.
So, you know, I get it.
Some people didn't like the time mechanic with it, stuff like that.
I thought that brought a different, you know, something different, you know, to the genre.
They're babies.
It's great.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I loved it.
So I honestly thought that would score higher than it did.
But, hey, 84's not bad.
I clearly whiffed on high on life too.
I mean, I just thought it would, I thought it would at least get into the low 80s.
I did, you know, because I did enjoy the first one.
But, you know.
Call of Duty's called duty.
Allegedly this was supposed to be the one.
Like this was supposed to be the big one.
You know,
the Infinity War was working on.
So we'll see what that final campaign and what the multiplayer looks like.
And then in a month,
Silent Hill,
I mean,
that was just something.
Hey,
I was kind of scrambling like,
hey,
I need to pick up something.
And getting 82.
I thought that was about right.
That seemed solid enough for me.
And then same way.
And it usually would be.
And it usually would be.
I feel like we've had those years where it's like,
you're not trying to, I mean, 90s, of course, would be great.
It's more double digits.
Can we get to double digits?
That's what you want for your point.
That's the rule.
It's like 80 and above.
The dream is to get 15s.
But yeah, if you're getting that 12 to 15 range,
you're doing great.
You're in the mix.
Yeah.
And then goes to Yote, that was,
I was looking at what was left out there.
And I go, all right, hey, it's eligible.
You know, let's see what that expansion looks like.
So, you know, like it's projecting me.
I'll finish around the middle of the pack.
You know, I just,
I whiffed on a couple of my top picks.
I just thought they would do better.
Gosa Yote's second Gahara is the latest action in the league.
You picking that up.
And this is the only action for the entire month of September.
One of two or one of three actions that have happened in the last couple of months
as we've kind of settled into what our teams here are.
Paris, looking at your team, looking at your choices here, if you could change one choice
you made, what would you go back and redo?
Dustblows for sure.
I mean, even when I did it, I was kind of taking a leap of faith.
There was probably something that was in that range that I could have been better served picking up.
I think about the Capcom games.
I don't even know if I had a chance.
Well, maybe Pragmata.
I forget what order that was picked in.
I probably could have gotten Pragata, something like that.
But I think just in the order I was picking in and the games that were coming off,
I just what we picked, like during the actual draft itself,
I think it played out about as best as I could have hoped at the drafting range I had.
Now, some of the afterwards, like, you know, picking up stuff off the waiver wire,
I definitely could have done a better job with that.
Now, before we move on, because next step, we got Barrett,
whose actual placement is fifth place, projected placement, fourth place.
To bring in some super chats real quick before we do that,
Dave Bro writes in and says, Half-Ly-3 is the new Silk Song.
The more you say it, the longer it gets delayed.
which is hilarious because I feel like Silk Song was the new Half-Life 3 for the longest time.
Half-Life 3, I think, is the original when we're talking about this kind of thing.
And then Regaloo says, off-topic, Paris, how much longer do we need to suffer the mediocrisy that is Todd Bowles and Jason Licked?
A great team hindered by leadership.
Okay, let me say something right now.
You know, I spent my own hard-earned money and I went to opening week in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I sat and baked in that 90-degree heat to
watch Baker turn that ball over three times.
I just, I've already tapped
out, and then we lose to the Cleveland Browns next week.
I'm done. So, I don't know, they can fire
everybody as far as I'm saying.
To the Browns?
Oh my God. Like, that's embarrassing.
That's embarrassing.
Damn. And that's somebody from Cleveland right there.
And that's someone from Cleveland, man.
Barrett, Courtney.
What a? Take us through your team.
But a, take me to the bridge.
We all, uh, first round pick, man.
That's a heartbreaker.
Heartbreaker, you know.
Game that's probably going to be kind of funniest game of the year because we're Sony ponies.
We'll all have it at number three and it'll make number one for 2026 game of the year.
Yeah, this one was a little bit of, you know, like, hey, Insomniac has this rhythm down with Marvel superhero games.
What could go wrong here?
And what went wrong is I think they were a bit a little too unimaginative for a simple character.
You know, it's a simple game for a simple character.
I think it's all right.
But yeah, that being the first round pick, it's like, damn, I was hoping for at least 15 on this.
Yeah, Wolverine.
Tough, tough one.
But then with the other games that I have that are out already, at least, Wolverine
kind of being the most recent game that has gotten any points.
Mouse P.I. for hire, that was like one of those, like, yeah, that must have been fourth round pick.
that was like, hey, this looks like a cool indie game
where the devs are really into
like this clear art style.
Getting me 11 points about where I was, I think, imagining it
because like once you get to that fourth and fifth round picks,
you're just like, man, what do we pick and what's actually announced?
What are we, you know, going for crazy picks like unannounced games
or trying to find sure bets.
And I felt like that was a solid fourth round sure bet.
To put us in the mindset of January 2026,
Like mouse PI for hire
I feel like was like weirdly
Not weirdly actually
Weirdly's not the wrong word for it
It was I think overpushed
It was jumping off the screen
For me bless it had a very cool art style
I think that was distinct
Troy Baker being tied to it
Sure
There was kind of an energy of like
Ooh this seems a little bit different
than most boomer shooters
That shooter genre that we see that like
There's some energy here
I think we gotta like this
RIN a really cool art style
Definitely jumped off the screen
But for me is the amount of screen time
We got with it
in those trailers, in those presentations.
Like Xbox closed.
We have a five or seven minute video, I feel like we have one of that.
Like DM near a developer direct.
I thought this thing was about to be like the next dishonor.
Like I was like,
and then it was, you know,
Troy Baker starring in it.
Like,
it was just another boomer shooter.
And I don't say any of that to take away from it.
Because it's a great game that has an 81.
Way too long.
And then Pragmatic, you know,
we were talking all the year about Capcom being on top this year.
And I was really happy with,
at the time
desperate fifth round pickup
and I remember people being
a little bit hesitant
like we'll see about that one
but it's great to see them
kind of killing it with all these games
and then we get to
Black Flag Resinct
one of the most
you know a remake of one of the most beloved
games in the series
that was I think my first pickup
outside of the draft
felt good about that
got the return
that I was expecting from it
there was one morning
where I was in the shower
I was thinking through the future.
And I was like, there's rumors, Barrett.
There's rumors of the, there's been rumors for like a year at this point of this two,
2D God of War, Metroidvania, possibly game.
And if that's, and if that's being led by Greg, who's the director of Ragnarok?
Hmm.
Eric, something right?
Ah, yeah, I'm not going to be.
Who was interviewed and talked about,
uh, talked about like, uh, his love for Castlevania in.
symphony in the night and all this stuff.
I'm like,
Eric Williams.
If he's directing that,
that like rumor 2D,
God of War,
Metroidvania game is about to be a banger.
And that same shower session,
I was like,
you know what?
This rumored Ocarina of Time remake.
You know what just came out?
An Ocaryana of Time Lego set.
It's time.
It's happening.
And I picked both of these up pretty early in the year.
I want to say this was back in like March or April.
Or no,
it must have been even before that.
Because God of War dropped on February.
February 12th, Barry.
Yeah, so I picked up Sons of Sparta and Ocena of Time, I believe in the same weekend.
And I picked up Sons of Sparta before it was announced and then Ocaryne of Time as well.
Sons of Sparta comes out, gets announced, and it drops that day.
So the only way you could have picked up that game, really, is if you picked it up before it was announced.
And, man, did not foresee that being not developed by within Sony Santa Monica, but
outsource to a different team
and it just being kind of a slog of a
Metroidvania, very disappointing.
Getting me negative five points, but I'll take
that trade. I'll take the hit
of negative 5 instead of getting
negative 15 from Pokemon
wins and waves. Yeah. So I was like, all right,
all right, I'll take that. Legend
of Zelda, Ocaryana of Time, best pickup of the year.
That'll get me 20 points
at least.
Ocaryon of Time 3DS has like a 92.
People just love
That'll be in the 90s for sure. Yeah. And
And Rack coin was a desperate, like, looking for an indie.
Like, what's the next Balatro type of thing?
That got me a low 80s.
Not as much as I wanted to do.
Titanium Court, which is my current still game of the year at an 85, I think, is a bit
low for that game.
But I can't be mad at it.
The games I still have left, because this is where really, like, it comes down to it.
Right.
What could happen still?
What could happen?
Yeah, Ocarina of Time is going to be in the 90s, at least, I think.
It'd fucking better.
Yeah, it's one of the most beloved games of all time.
It's getting a remake, again, the 3DS version of that game reviewed in the 90s,
and that was just a paint job, essentially, for 3DS.
And then the other ones I have are Phantom Blade Zero, which I always looked at as being
somewhere in the high 80s.
So I'm expecting somewhere in like the 86 to 88 range.
And then the big question.
I'll push it to a 90.
You would push that to a 90?
I got real high hopes for Phantom Blade Zero.
I got real high hopes for Phantom Blade Zero.
Is that your expect?
Do you think that?
Like, what's your prediction?
90.
Okay.
Wow.
Because I'm thinking of like...
You love to see.
Lies of P.
What did Lies of P do?
Because Andy always talks about like that being like one of the best outside of
some stuff.
That didn't 82.
See, that's where I'm like, I don't know.
We'll see.
The big question, though.
And Greg called me out on it when I drafted it at the beginning of the year was
Silk Song Sea of Sorrow, which they said 2026 and I was hoping for it.
How many times these guys got a lot of you?
I know.
They said 2026 and I was like, you know what?
If they're saying next year, that means they got to be confident.
And we still not heard a goddamn word since.
And if that comes out, that's going to review it a 90, which would put me in the conversation.
But I don't know if this is going to come out and actually put me in the conversation at the end of the year.
You can drop it?
What the fuck do I pick up, though?
My backup was Neverway.
Neverway got delayed next year.
Let me trade you for Minecraft Dungeons too.
I mean, that might not be a bad trait.
Some points better than no points.
Yeah.
So, I don't know.
There's...
You can pick up that Volvi game.
Not the same day as GTSA.
No.
Pick up Volvi?
Man.
I don't like same.
Like, I honestly just kind of wanted...
It doesn't have a good mouth feel.
No.
Volvi.
Volvi.
I want to stick with it.
It is really close to Volva.
I want to stick with it and double down on C of Sorrow just in case.
Just in case they're insane.
And they're like, you know what?
We're going to put this out a week.
before GTA 6 or some shit.
Yeah.
You know?
So we'll see.
My biggest mistake of the year,
I had a feeling.
I had a feeling in my gut, bless.
The Friday before we got Wolverine codes.
In my brain, I was like,
I should drop Wolverine and pick up something else.
And then I forgot.
And then we got Wolverine code.
And I was like,
well,
it's too late for me to do this.
I feel for you because, like,
between Marvel's Wolverine and God of War's Sons of Sparta,
those two should not have backfired on you.
Absolutely not.
You would never think that.
You did what you had to do.
He did it.
We stirred the tanks.
We then move on to our fourth place.
So we're in fourth place?
I'm not on the page,
but you can scroll up for me.
This is organized in how we drafted earlier this year.
But I think, yeah, fourth place is...
Oh, here we go.
Andy Cortez.
Now, Andy Cortez is responsible for two of our most recent league actions.
Back on August 29th,
Andy Cortez did two things.
He dropped Mariachi Legends.
which I think got dated for next year.
Oh, okay.
And then he picked up a game called Welldweller.
Well, Dweller, do you remember this?
What did he know?
What did he know, Bless?
Wait, when did he do this?
How did he find that?
August 29th.
Like, these bids went through August.
How did he find that?
Well, Dweller, this week got its reviews.
On Open Critic right now, it is sitting at a 90.
This game's red hot.
This game is red hot.
I'm trying to play this game.
I'm trying to find time to play it on my AY and Thor or maybe.
How did he know?
Who told him?
I don't like him.
I don't like him.
I don't like him listen to another podcast.
Yeah,
the problem.
We never spoke about this once.
He's never said the words well,
did I,
did we have never said the word?
Did we show this on all the games coming out in September games?
I don't think we did.
This was put on my radar because I was prepping KFGD and then Xbox had all the news earlier today.
Yeah.
We didn't even talk about it.
We talked about it the day after.
But yeah,
that's a crazy pick for Andy Cortez and a late game move that,
you know,
might just save his team.
Now,
we go through his games. Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave is his top one here sitting at an 89.
His first pick, I should say, not his top pick. He should have traded me.
His top pick, actually, Meena the Hollower.
No, we did talk about Well Dweller. I did call that one out for you guys.
He listened to my podcast. Shit, fuck.
Yeah, so that's your fault. I mean, he also plays every Steam Next Fest game available,
so I'm sure that probably has something to do with it. I hate him.
Me and the Hollower got him 91. Re-animal only got him an 80.
Which Brooke is yet to come out. Planet of Lana 2.
Came out?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah?
Mike, did you play it?
No, I didn't play it.
Oh, man.
Great.
More of the first one.
Still pretty short.
And like, Mike, the way they're building up this, like being a trilogy, it was like, oh.
Oh, really?
I'm so stoked for the next one.
Oh, I like that.
I am shocked.
What is my backpack?
Yeah.
I, that dude, that came under the radar.
Okay.
I was waiting for that game.
I still got to play the first one, though.
So, yeah, playing Atlanta to Children of the Leaf got him at 82.
Valor Mortis.
is yet to come out.
The eternal life of Goldman yet to come out.
Where the fuck is that game?
That's a really good question.
I don't think that's coming out this year, though, at this point.
That's a cute old guy.
That's a cute old guy with the umbrella.
That adorable old guy.
Grave seasons is yet to come out.
That was originally going to come out in August, though.
I remember them putting the date on it.
So I wonder what happened there.
And I can't imagine.
I've seen it a couple times.
This is the one.
You're the prisoner.
You take over a house.
There's a monster killing people in the woods.
Yes.
Should be an October game, so it's crazy.
It's not out yet.
But that feels like a 77 to me.
I can see it.
I read the walls.
Mortal Shell 2 got him in 83.
And like we mentioned,
Weldweller, got him in 90s.
Counterpick was the Adventures of Elliot,
the Millennium Tales.
Alien.
Which got him in 80 on Open Critic,
but that got him minus 10 because of it being a counterpick.
How do we feel?
Is, does Andy have a chance here?
Right now he's projected at,
let's see projected at fifth place.
So it's saying even though he doesn't have a shot to run it.
No, and beat Roger, the cheater.
I mean, he has 87 points in a perfect world.
All these games come out if they get him 10 points apiece.
He's got a buck 27.
So like that is on the very higher end, a chance to win it all.
But I think with which Brooke being such a big question mark, the eternal life of
Goldman, I think unfortunately for Andy, the three out of these four titles, probably
won't even release this year for Andy.
And so I think that's where the big miss is.
Yeah, I agree.
We then move on to me.
I am sitting.
Funny way to say it.
They move on to me.
Blessing publisher level 6, 7.
I'm sitting at an actual third place and also I'm projected to be in third place.
My first pick was mixtape.
That landed at an 85 on Open Critic, getting me 15 points.
My second pick, Crimson Desert, landed at a 79 on OpenCrit, getting me nine points.
another one where it's like, you know, you update your game over time.
If they re-reviewed that today, would that score be significantly higher?
No, we go to 82.
I would say, wow, okay.
I would say 85.
I don't know if you guys have read the internet.
Reviewers don't get this game, all right?
This is for the real capital G gamers like me, all right?
But they didn't get at a launch because it was dull at lunch.
It's dull now.
They went back.
When I saw the thing that they're updating story moments in the game, they're giving the game
an actual story. It's like, what the fuck are we doing here?
You know, it gives me nothing to work with as a reviewer.
Because now I just look stupid 10 years later when people go back and watch the
original thing. And now the game's a different fucking genre.
It's not the same game anymore. It's an entirely different thing.
God damn it. But yeah, Crimson Desert fucked me.
Mugenics came in at an 89 on Open Critic.
Give me 19 points. Delta Rune chapter 5. Thank God.
Got reviewed.
Came in at an 83 on Open Critic, getting me 13 points.
Zero parades for dead spies.
That's the follow-up game to Disco Elysium.
Came in at an 83,
which is lower than what I would have wanted
for the Disco-Eleasian developers, but also...
But higher than... It could have been.
Higher than...
A big conversation about them, but, you know,
Shepathias and all that shit. Like, who's still there?
What are we making? Yes. That got me 13 points.
Order of the Sinking Star is on my team.
Not out yet. It is coming up.
It is a big question mark for me.
Yeah.
Because Jonathan Blow has made braid,
and he's made the witness.
He's made a lot of fucking state.
Two of the very best puzzle games ever created.
Can order of the sinking star actually follow those up?
I am worried.
I am very worried about this pick.
We then move on to Avatar Legends, the fighting game.
This was a passion pick for me.
It got a 78 on Open Critic.
I would have wanted it to get more.
Having played the game, I think this is accurate.
It's fun, but also it's, you can tell it's made by a very small team that has limited resources.
they added in ranked post launch.
The game was about to come out for Xbox,
I think got delayed the day before it came out
to like September or something.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, this is a tough one,
but, you know, it is what it is.
Densitack, though, came for me.
I got an 87 on Open Critic,
getting me 17 points,
and then two games yet to come out,
Ace Combat 8, Wings of Thieve,
and Star Wars Galactic Racer,
both haven't been reviewed yet.
I'm feeling good about both of those.
You're in this, you're in the mix, bless.
With these three left, you, you got a chance here, Big Dog.
If Sting Star can hit that 90, dude, and get you up there.
What you figure, your Galactic Racer, it feels like the vibe on that one is everyone getting their little kid episode one eyes on.
85?
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
That strikes me as like an 8.5.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's count at 7 reviewed at an 81.
So like somewhere in that like 10, you get 25 and then order the Sinking Star.
high 80s. Or the singing star really is the X factor because I think that game can come in
anywhere between let's say at the top end a 90 at the low end a 75 I think that game can fall flat
on its face potentially the trailer I don't think does I don't think shows it off in a way that
makes it look like it's about to be a game of year contender but who knows my counter pick
was the unannounced main life half life game mainline half life game which has been a good
counterpick for me. Next up,
sitting at number two,
we have the one and only
master five snow bike. Mike.
Last year's champion, put some respect on the
name. Champion. Mike, take us through your team.
He brings the boom.
You know what? We did bring the boom.
Great. Thanks for remembering that. I forget.
So much fun. Of course, this year
I came out with a goal and I came out with a new strategy. We're going to talk about that.
Of course.
We're going to talk about this strategy I came up with.
We're going to kick it off with Forks Horizon 6 as my first round,
first selection pick of the overall draft.
And there was the moment.
Do you pick GTA or do you go with a safer bet that is Fort's Horizon 6?
The great follow-up to five, not have a possible delay.
So I went with Fort.
I pushed off GTA.
Got me 22 points sitting at a 91 on Metacritic.
This is one of the best games of the year.
It was another fantastic entry into the genre.
Then I kind of went a little crazy.
and I went into the Adventures of Elliott, the Millennium Tale,
and that got me 80 with 10 points.
So not overall bad.
My goal always is to score 15 or above.
So 10, not my hitting goal, but there.
Super Meat Boy 3D is the start.
Of course, I like to think of my team as a Caldera.
You look up at the Caldera, there's a peak.
You go, ooh, there's some highs, but deep down below, there's always the depths.
There's a bottom.
I don't know.
There's a bottom.
So unfortunately, Super Meat Boy is the bottom of my Caldera pick here,
which came out 76, 6 points total on that one.
And unfortunately, I think Super Meat Boy should be higher.
I think there was a really good game, but 76 points on that.
Yeah, you would have thought higher on that one.
Went to Vampire Crawlers.
And actually when I see the final score of Vampire Crawlers sitting at 13,
I'm not mad at that.
This is a game coming off from Ponco.
Ponckel, you nailed it.
Yeah, I like to put Pondicle, but yeah.
Yeah, I know. I nailed it.
This is a team that I thought, hey, man, a lot of movement from vampire survivors.
Can they do it with vampire crawlers?
And you know what?
13? You're not mad at that at all. We'll take that.
Halo campaign evolved scored exactly where we thought it would score 81 for 11 points.
I was hoping for higher, but that's exactly where that game should be.
We go into Ghost of Legends.
Ghost of Yote Legends, of course, this is the multiplayer edition into this game.
This is unscored for me, Bless.
So this is going to be a big goose egg that really is another part of the Caldera.
It's never too late for you to call our friends at the different sites we know and get them to review it.
A Caldera is a large culture like hollow.
No one helped me when I needed it, but somebody could help you.
That forms shortly after the emptying of a magma chamber in a volcanic eruption.
Yes, yes.
Where did you learn this word?
I'm going to guess Karen.
I'm playing Alan Wake, too.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Thank you.
But if you take a look over on Open Critic with Ghost of Yotei Legends,
There was actually six reviews in this.
Four of them scored.
Two of them unscored.
Kitaku and Push Square have not scored their games.
But the others are all in the eights to eight point fives.
So hypothetically, there was one to score or some random Gibroni,
maybe on the game of the year edition decided to play this and score it.
That would put me on the board.
And maybe that would net out to an 80.
So you need one more person to score?
I need one person to score it, which is crazy.
Yeah, it's like four, but it has to be a site from one of the, like,
who has, yeah, do what, who?
Hitaku and push start.
But who has IGN done it?
No, IGN has not reviewed this game.
I'm not going to review Ghost of the Old Table Legends.
Legends, you know, September 2026.
We'll make some phone calls.
We're making a phone call.
Oh, you know, I think we know a guy.
We do.
Who just got a promotion.
Yeah, we do know a guy who just got it.
Oh, shit.
This feels like four into voicemails.
Phone's probably off.
You know it is.
Please record your message.
When you have finished recording.
This feels like collusion.
IGN.com's Michael Hyam.
It's me, Greg Miller from Kind of Funny.
You're live in the games cast right now.
Don't panic.
I saw over on BS.
That's a blue sky.
Sam,
that you're now the reviews editor at IGN.
Awesome.
We need you to write a wrong.
All right,
Ghost of Yote Legends came out this year,
and IGN has not scored it.
It's a great game from what I understand.
And if you guys were to score it,
that would help Mike in the fantasy critic.
He just needs one more score.
So if you could do that, that would be fantastic.
I'm sure you got freelancers just chomping.
You know what?
Mike is willing to review it for you.
Mike is willing to review it for you.
I can't appear it.
So there, Michael, we just solved it for you.
Hit up, Mike.
His rates very high, but he'll write it for you.
Bye.
This is Greg.
I'd like it known right now that if Greg Miller pulls off the impossible
and there does get a score as the acting return champion if I win it all.
He will not have to do a punishment.
Write it down.
Wow.
All right.
write it down.
What he does.
Remember this moment, everybody.
So yes, of course, Ghost of Yote Legends.
That was an unfortunate, just situation where game came out.
I don't think there was a massive stir for that of clearly six reviews.
Two of them unscored.
Didn't help me.
Diablo four, Lord of Hatred got 83.
Thirteen points.
Deserved more.
Deserved more.
You need to get through an 85.
That's all the same.
I will once again go with.
That's exactly where I thought that would be.
Then we go over to World of Warcraft Midnight.
The release for that, 84.
14 points. Great job. Incident at Galley House got an 84 14 points as well. So really my strategy
this year, blessed that I want to talk about was I wanted to make a splash for fantasy
critic at the beginning of the year, the calendar year of 12 months to say, hey, let's make this fun
and exciting. The former champion has selected his whole entire team in the, by the end of January,
and he's going to let, he's going to put the league on notice. Yeah. I got my 10. I'm locked in. And I'm
ready to go. And so that was my strategy.
Has that worked out for you? Unfortunately
blessed, Ghost of Yote is
really weighing me down because here's the deal.
At Fate's End is my 10th
pick that we haven't talked about. Now, at fate's
end is scheduled
for 2026.
It is supposed to release this year.
This is the beautiful game that reminds
you of what's
the dog game? Remember when she had that beautiful dog
and she was fighting people? Oh.
Ever.
Never. Never. Never.
Never.
and like grie.
But this is the team
that created,
Paris,
your favorite game,
Spirit Fairer.
Paris loves that game.
So this team
has shown it at GDC
at Xbox.
We saw it.
Of course,
I'm sure it's been
demoed other places.
They've gone silent on me
on when this drops.
But over on their Instagram,
they have a post
from six days ago.
Unmistakable
with the photo art
of the game.
Unmistakable.
What is that?
You ask.
Unmistakable Fest.
A celebration of
art and animation in video games,
a four-day steam festival
happening October 8th
through the 12th. This game
will be showcased there.
Is this going to be a demo,
or will this game drop
sometime in that window
to celebrate?
That's a 2027 game.
It's not coming out this year, really. That's another
demo. Well, I need you all to believe, okay?
You got to believe a little bit. You got a free drop.
You can drop it.
I have spent all my money for funds,
Yes.
He has $1, I think.
But it's also like he could drop it.
But what else is there to pick up?
Trade me, Minecraft Dungeons, too.
So points are better than no point.
That's a great call.
That's a great call.
That would keep me in the race.
Because I am at 103.
Here's the big catch, right?
I'm at 103.
I am in this spot right now.
If Ghost of Yote legends were to get me points and at fate's end were to get me points,
I would be in the mix.
In the conversation.
Dust Bloods is your counterpick.
And that doesn't seem like it's coming out.
As of right now,
I'm still in the conversation, but I will get blown, blown by, by Bless and, um,
he's going to get blown everybody.
And so, yeah, unfortunately for your returning champ, um, just didn't make it happen this year,
but I'll be back better than ever last next year.
Don't worry.
All right.
That brings us to our top dog here.
Tim Muggin, Gettys, who is both sitting at first place in actual points and projected
to be at first place, uh, Roger's biggest operas to be at first place.
Roger's biggest op right now.
If we're going through Tim's team,
we start off at the top of the Resident Evil Requiem
that is sitting at an 89 on OpenCritic,
getting him 19.
Dragon Quest 7 reimagined got 83,
that's his second pick,
getting him 13 points.
He also picked up 007 for a slight
that got him in 87,
our open critic, getting him 17 points.
Right under that,
Onamusha, Way of the Sword,
that also got an 87 sitting at 17 points.
Now, his next one is a counterpicked game.
that is still unreleased, tied to annihilation, which there is no way in heaven or hell
on honor.
This game is coming out in 2026, but he is stuck with this game.
The main character, the original actress dropped out.
Yeah, I don't know what Tim was thinking when he picked this one about.
I'll be honest.
Maybe he was thinking he'd be able to drop it, but it got counterpicked.
Pokemon Pocopia, though, was a fantastic pick from Tim sitting at an 89 on open period.
That's after draft, too.
That's right.
Yeah.
Getting him 19 points.
There's another tough one.
Kena, Scars have cost more.
a game that was absent during the previous state of play.
Unreleased is it coming out in 2026.
I think all of us are very doubtful that that's happening.
Does he have any drops?
He does have drops.
So he's choosing,
well,
he has zero budget.
That's what it is.
Yeah,
so he's kind of stuck with it.
Easy to spend that money sometimes.
Yeah.
You got to always keep yourself with at least a buck.
I mean,
he's essentially locked at his,
where he is.
Yeah.
He's not going to get any more points.
Yeah,
that's tough actually for Tim.
because yeah next up he has star fox
gotten 82 12 points then sputoon
raiders gotten 81 11 points
Star Wars Zero company got an 85
15 points and he counterpicked
Marvel Tocon fighting souls
that got an 85 that is minus
15 points for him so even though
he's projected at first place I think the fact
that tides of annihilation
and cana scars to Cosmora are not coming
out this year both both those are going to be zero
I don't think he has a prayer being in first place right
especially with Roger coming up the way he's coming apart
Marvel Fighting Souls
unfortunately hit him hard as well
with that minus 15.
That would have put him
in the 120s with a better selection.
You would hope.
But man,
he talked about playing a perfect game
and then unfortunately
just falling short of the finish line
with these two games
that won't score and release.
Any other year, man.
I'm impressed with him
with what he did.
Don't get ahead of yourself.
For someone who doesn't really notice
or pay attention to this,
he somehow pulled it together.
So our upcoming releases right now
are the ones that,
are the ones that are coming up soon, I'll say.
Of course, Control Resonant, which has already got reviews,
Silent Hill, Townfall, Minecraft Dungeons, too,
Ghost of the Otey Echoes of Sekuhara, Ace Combat 8, Wings of Thief,
Star Wars, Galactic, Reader Ede, Order the Shing and Star,
Dragon's Dog, but two Darkerrids, and Vowler Mortis,
and of course, is much more,
a lot more game to be played here.
It sounds like really it's coming down between
potentially, Tim, but really, Roger,
and then I'd probably put myself up there, but also Mike.
I would say,
I feel like the four of us are really, are still in there.
That's a solid mix, yeah.
I mean, I think it's Roger and Bless in the forefront.
You have Mike somewhere in the mix on a wing and a prayer.
And then Tim who's just hoping none of us score.
In a perfect world, if nobody scored, Tim would be on top here.
All right.
Chat.
Here's ending.
Let us know in the comments below.
Who's your prediction for who's going to win this entire thing?
Of course, we got a few months left in the year.
We'll check in either at the end of the year or the beginning of next year
on who's actually winning this thing.
will give the winner a wish and we'll punish the loser.
Unless Mike wins and Greg loses,
then Greg is free from his punishment
because of Mike's promise.
I'm doing my best out here.
I'm shaking.
Did VGC do it?
No, no VGC.
Is VGC on Open Critic?
Yeah.
They have to be.
We know it now.
You don't think they would be?
They are.
It seems like something they would be.
Well, all right then.
Parris, thank you so much for joining us, man.
Yeah, thank you for having me.
Until next time.
It's been our pleasure to serve you.
Oh, no.
