What's up everybody and welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Friday, August 1st.
Wow, 2025. Of course, I'm your host, Tim Getty's.
I am joined by, oh, it's so good that he's back snow bike, Mike.
Tim, I missed you. I missed you. I looked you in the eyes before I left.
I said, I don't want to go. You said, you got to leave.
You got to leave right now. And so I'm happy to be back at home base and I'm just happy to see Andy.
Okay. Of course you have Andy Hortez as well. Your hair is different today and I like it.
that's what I was saying
Is it a water pressure thing
Or is it a water pressure?
Water pressure
Is it the broccoli look?
Well it's down today
Usually it's up
You've chosen a little down into the right
He's bringing like the 2000
Late 2000s Emo's thing back a little bit
I'm obsessed with Andy's hair
Well when I when I drive in
I have the swoop every morning
I've been doing the I've been doing the front soup
every morning
Okay
When I on the drive in
And then I parked the car
And then I park the car
And then
then I push it the other way. So it's sort of fighting against gravity. It's fighting against,
it's fighting against its roots and like, you know, how it was brought up. It's upbringing.
Wow. We're also joined today by a rare appearance by Nick Scarfino. I have so many snowbike
Mike stories leading up to the event that Snowbike Mike went to. Yeah, everyone just walking. I just
want you all to know this is going to be one of those games cast episodes that's also kind of a
kind of funny podcast. We're talking about Battlefield 6. We will talk about the video game I promise.
But I also promise we're going to talk a lot about not the video games.
Yeah, we're going to talk about this.
On the Internet right now, where are the big four U.S. cities?
Because there's a big hot debate right now.
A lot of people can't land on the big four of the U.S. cities.
The big four.
Interesting.
Tucson.
Yeah.
Santa Fe.
All in you make sense.
What are you for, Tim?
Well, that's the thing is it does get complicated because the arguments I've seen from people are that you can't have multiple cities from the same state.
I say to that, are you stupid?
Yes, you can.
And you will.
Because of course, in no order, we got New York.
Actually, I'll even order it.
It's New York.
Yeah.
Right.
That's the only one can order.
The others don't matter order.
New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles.
Chicago.
And then it's a debate between Chicago or Miami.
But to be real, it's Chicago.
Yeah.
Wow.
It's New York.
It's L.A.
It's Miami.
Yes.
And probably San Juan, Texas.
Nice. That's a great
Maybe San Benito.
You need something to mellow it out a little bit.
No? A little cream of the coffee.
No cream of the coffee. Oh, creamy to coffee.
I'm going New York, L.A., Miami.
Ready for this for?
Vegas.
Raise your hand if you've been to Miami.
Why are y'all voting for this? You haven't been to that goddamn city.
You don't know if it's good.
You got to believe in South Beach.
There's culture, though, man.
Yeah, Miami's important.
I'm also just like the four corners.
He's doting it. He's dot in.
You can't. All I'm saying is, no disrespect to Miami.
me. Tallahassee, whatever, you know.
But, but obviously, three out of
the four people here have not been
there. Yeah, but I feel like Miami, like,
there's so many, so much identity
to Miami that's important.
Like, that's, that's a count, man.
That's gonna be there. Yeah, exactly.
LeBron Wade, Bosch.
Wasn't the other than, Norris Cole?
DJ Callet. Yeah.
DJ Callet, yes, that's amazing.
Pit bull. Yeah, good.
Vegas is an interesting one.
Rio, Mario, I love Rio.
But Vegas as a city, I don't know about that.
Yeah, but he's,
Vegas is a strip.
Vegas might be the most
American city ever.
It might actually be.
I don't know.
I don't give Vegas isn't a city.
Vegas is just a giant amusement park.
Yeah.
That's America.
It is a giant music park where nothing tastes very good,
but you get a lot of it.
And that's,
that's Vegas.
And all the people actually living there are just getting by.
Yeah,
they're just getting back.
Just getting by, man.
Speaking of getting by,
we're going to get by today.

Today, we're brought to you by mood factor in the kind of funny survey.
But we'll tell you all about that later.
for now and start with the topic of the show
I really don't like that in the chat
crab daddy just said when the fart bleeds
yeah it hasn't moved I don't know why it's just sitting there
daddy's thoughts but like it hurts it's been so
stagnant there yeah yeah oh I think that's the old chat
oh the YouTube chat just gave up it's games daily chat
oh so that's games daily's fault
that's a wild one that's a wild one
all right topic of the show Battlefield 6
it's announced it's real you played it
Tim, I played a lot of it.
I played two days.
You broke stuff?
I'm about six hours in.
Me and the IT team, we're tight.
Okay.
Hector at the IT team.
Dom part of the IT team.
Yeah.
We were tight.
We were working OBS.
We were back-ended files, Andy.
Resolutions.
We were having a good time.
If I was there, would you have given out my phone number to them?
Oh, you would have loved Dom?
Andy, I'm going to go out on a limb and say every single person at that event has your phone number now.
You got a hit of my friend, Andy.
He's the best.
Dom's from the IE.
That's the inland empire.
Oh, I'm well aware.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Shout to Dom.
That's where I'm from.
Yeah.
Really?
That's where that is.
Yeah.
The Inland Empire.
That's cool.
I was breaking stuff.
I was having fun.
A lot of destruction.
But yeah, I had a great week, Tim.
I've played six plus hours of Battlefield 6 multiplayer.
I got to be part of the big reveal with Vince Sampella in the Battlefield Studios.
I got all this information.
I'm excited to share.
with the audience.
And I also have some really dope stories.
Oh, I'm sure you're doing.
Because you know, Tim, I did a lot this week.
I didn't think I was.
Okay, I came into this week.
And I was like, you know what?
I'm going to lay low-key.
That's what you were doing?
That's what you were doing?
That's what you were doing?
Are you talking about at work?
I'm kind of funny?
No, in general.
It's not.
All right.
It's okay, just lie to everybody.
I'm low-key Mike.
You know what I mean?
Lockheed Mike was going out there.
Yeah.
And you sound like you were about to be sick
can be out for about 16 days.
Well, here's the deal. Like, last night, there was
an after party. And I didn't think I was going to
attend the after party. There was vibes, right?
Somebody made you, right? I'm hanging out with my
gaming dad, Paris Lily. And like,
you know, Paris is like,
I'm a little tired young buck. I don't know if I got it.
And I begged him, I was like, Paris, we got to go.
Please give me some energy.
And like, even I left day two.
And I was like, you know what? What if I didn't do
that? And then Paris walked up to me,
he goes, I don't know if you've heard
Bronny and
A.D. might be at the party. Oh, shit.
And for the unaware, those are
two NBA All-Stars. NBA
Superstars. Brony, LeBron
James' son, and A.D., Anthony
Davis, the brow,
could be... I mean, come on.
He's playing D-League.
Brody J.
So I'm like, oh, shit, really? And he says one more
name, Nick. That's that? He says, K.C.P.
Cantavius Caldwell Pope.
Cantavius Caldwell Pope could be there.
And I said, get your Timberlins on. We're going right now.
Look out for the smoke bucket.
You go, Pope and new Pope has been announced.
Get your button up.
Get your dress attire.
We're going to this after party.
And deep into Hollywood, Nick, we went.
Yeah.
About 45 minute drive.
We made it.
Yeah, but in L.A., that could be three blocks.
Oh, man.
So let's just jump right to the after party.
Let's just jump, okay?
Let's just jump straight to the after party.
Let's just jump right to the after party.
Because Paris, poor dad, Paris had to step in, okay?
So we get in the Uber, me, Kaleef and Paris.
We're ready to rock and roll.
It's low key.
Vives are chill, but like, KCP's there, and I'm going to see KCP.
Right.
Uninitiated.
Who's KCP?
Cantavius, Caldwell Pope, two-time NBA champion.
Yeah, okay.
Lakers and the Denver Nuggets, now in Memphis.
Very exciting stuff, right?
And so here's a lot of jerseys.
A lot of jerseys.
So here's the deal, Tim and Nick.
We're in the Uber, and you know me.
I've been doing really well and trying my best when we're out in social outings
to put the phone down and be part of it,
not be standing out my phone, not fidgeting with the phone.
Just be a part of the fun, right?
I mean, this is the first thing I'm hearing about that, but I can know about it.
We know him.
I've never heard you say it ever.
I've never thought about this.
I've been doing really well.
You're doing great about it.
I'm proud of you for months, years out of the day.
I'm in the back of the Uber.
And like, I'm getting spread out.
I'm getting loose, you know what I mean?
Because I'm in the far back seats.
And I was like, it got so long, Nick,
that I might have pulled my phone out of my pocket,
started looking at the cool Twitter video that I put up.
You know what I mean?
We'll talk about that soon.
I love it.
I love it.
It's a good video.
It's a good video.
So what do I do?
You would think you'd slide it back in your pocket.
No, I put it underneath my butt.
Oh.
And I said, I'll get that.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, you'll definitely remember that 45 minutes from now.
And we arrive at the after party and it's lit.
You know what I mean?
Like the energy's high.
People are outside.
It's L.A.
Okay.
There's celebrity.
We're Hollywood.
There's security.
There's a VIP entrance on one side.
It's a regular.
It's battlefield.
Yeah.
Or that's exactly.
There's a vibe, right?
And so I jump out the whip and I'm dapping people up.
There's Danny Pena's brother.
First time getting to meet him.
Hell yeah.
Delight, great guy.
Then there's security.
They're looking at me.
I'm making friends of them.
Doorboy Danny, he's letting me in.
We're all good friends.
The first person we lock eyes with and see when we walk into the VIP entrance.
Cantavius Pope.
Cantavius called Will Pope.
And what does Snowbike Mike do?
Dapped him up immediately.
KCP!
We've now dapped up two times in a row.
I'm hugging KCP.
I'm shooting finger guns out as I walk out.
I go, Casey P!
You're my guy, right?
And he's laughing.
He's loving it.
We finally get on to the dance floor.
I feel light.
I feel a little lighter.
What is that?
Yeah, it means your left pocket, maybe he doesn't have...
I left this giant cell phone in the Uber.
What does Mike have to do?
Daddy parents.
Daddy Paris. Please God
call the Uber and Paris
goes from smiling, giggling
to dad mode in a heartbeat.
Rolls his eyes, goes
God damn it, Mike, and now
he's got to grab the cell phone in
loud blasting music, dark lighting
and go Uber. Danny Payton is like,
you got to hit this button. You got to go down to
help. Okay, now you're going to call the guy. And Paris
is just shaking his head. We've been in a
45 minute car ride to get there. How dare you
do this to him? God.
I'd be so pissed.
His 35-year-old son fucking up.
So he's got to go outside.
He goes, the guy didn't answer.
Like, I don't know.
And I'm like, and Danny's doing the thing.
I couldn't live without my phone.
Oh, my God.
I would die.
And I'm trying to hold it in.
And so I look at Dan, I go, ain't no big deal.
Danny.
Like, it's all good.
You know, like, in the back of my mind, I'm like,
there goes all your photos.
You got no plane ticket.
You got out to call Nick.
You're never getting home.
I was like, I looked at Danny.
I was like, it's all good.
I walked up to the bargain.
got a Red Bull, I'm dancing,
shucking and jiving a little bit.
Dancing the feelings.
Yeah, yeah, just, you know, letting it go.
Just take it a second.
Take a second.
Crashing out like Mon Mothmo.
For real.
And Paris goes, we'll figure it out.
I go, there's no rush.
You know what I mean?
So we start cruising.
And then Paris looks at me and goes,
he's coming back with your phone.
You got to go wait outside for it.
I go Paris, I'll go wait outside, no problem, right?
So now I go on to the street,
lock eyes with the door guy.
I go, hey, man, got a situation,
left my phone in the u.
I'll be right back. He says, no problem.
You know what I mean? They know me now.
You're best friends. They know me now.
Yeah.
They know me. And so now I'm standing in the walkway and everybody's looking at Snowbike Mike.
Mike, what are you doing out here?
Well, you know, I left my phone in the Uber. I got to do this.
And so now I'm on the other side of the street and I got PR yelling at me.
Mike, what are you doing over there?
And I'm trying to explain the situation.
And Danny's brother finally looks and he goes, just go inside and party.
I'll grab it for you.
And so I dab up him.
I dab up Danny's brother.
I'm like, you're the fucking best.
Thank you so much, right?
And then I go let loose.
I got to go hang on KCP.
Okay, and everybody in their mama is at this party.
This is the party that they talked about,
that Tim and Greg talked about that.
Nick Scarpino share stories about hanging out with G units back in the day.
Okay, KCP's over there.
It's called duty.
Andrew Renee.
John Drake is right there.
Bruce Green is over there.
Paladin Amble.
That's the G unit of the video game industry.
Are getting in the mix, right?
The vibe is going, right?
you got press, you got creators.
And all of a sudden I look over,
and there she is.
Bree Larson has entered the building.
Captain Marvel walks past me, and I go,
oh shit!
Dapper up.
I wish.
So she walks up, she's playing some of the ballot.
I'm like, this shit is crazy right now.
I'm like, John Drake, this is the shit they talked about.
He's like, Mike, this is what it looks like.
Yeah.
This is a big party.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm like, John Drake, this is nuts.
I got to go see KCP.
So what happens?
I get into the VIP section.
There's KCP.
Of course.
I dab them up again.
Barrett in assets.
There's a nice photo of me in Paris.
So, of course, I walk up to KCP.
I say, hey, KCP.
I don't want to interrupt.
I don't want to take much time from you.
But do you mind if we snap up, take a flick?
And he goes, of course, big dog, no problem at all.
So me and Paris.
Mike, can I ask you like that?
Really quick.
Real dog.
Take a flick.
A video.
He wants a video of KCP.
Can we snap on.
a flick is what you just said.
What did you actually say?
That's what I said. Great. I also don't
have a picture of Paris. I have this picture.
No, no, no. Oh. Yes.
Michael Hoover.
The real celebrity is humor.
Higher, higher, higher, higher up on assets.
It was from last night. Oh, right.
By being random. My apologies.
Where I said, everybody wake up. I've met Casey.
Oh, right, right.
It was a big deal.
Yeah, you texted me last night.
Yeah.
So there I am chopping it with KCP and Paris.
We got our wine glasses.
You know, we're dingin.
we're having a good time. And I'm asking
questions. I'm like, I'm like,
I'm like, KCP, when you come around
the corner, getting that high screen
on the wing, and you turn to the hoop,
who do you want to see one-on-one?
Who can you blow by? Who's
guarded you and locking you down?
And he's laughing. And then we moved on the
video games. It was like,
what's the video game good at? And he liked
Madden, Call of Duty. He was
excited about this one after watching. And so
me and KCP, we're friends
now. I love it. That's awesome. Yeah.
I might go out to Memphis and see a game now.
You swing by if he's in Golden State?
Like, hit him up, dude.
That's a great call.
You know?
That's a great call.
We made a connection.
I love that.
Because at one point, Kevin Coelho, I think, was maybe hanging out with Hunter Pence at one point and mentioned that, was it Kavanaughan, Luni?
Festus Azili.
Big friends, Festus.
Yeah, big Festus.
He was like, I love video games.
I want to go hang out with you on.
Kevin was like, there was a former warrior player.
I don't remember his name.
It was kind of a unique name.
It was like,
Fesesizili.
He was like,
why would he,
like, I don't know,
that's very bizarre,
but like we could have both of them show up here.
It gives me anxiety
when real people show up here.
I mean,
I don't like it.
I mean,
people that are like our friends,
like Bruce Green's the world,
they get it,
they get the thing.
But like when real pro athletes show up,
I'm like,
oh, man,
we're just going to embarrass ourselves.
Mainly I'm going to embarrass myself
by not knowing who this person is.
It's not realizing what the hell's going on here.
I don't like it at all.
The reason why you end of embarrassing
or something because you try really hard
to act like
if you met Casey. Like a real person
I'm like, hello sir. No,
if you met KCP you would be like
oh man, three pointers like you love
you gotta just fit in. Love the pigskin there
KCP, love the pigskin. I love it. So good.
So everybody was there. Lisa Wallin's
there. She's going crazy because
there's a word, Travis Barker's in the building.
Oh shit. Yeah. He's out
dropping on the controller. So
the Barkman was there.
Nobody's ever called him.
I'm calling him that from now.
Danny and Khalif are talking to a gentleman
and I walk up to Paris. I'm like, yo, who is
this cool dude they're talking to? Because they're talking to
him for about seven minutes straight, maybe 20 minutes.
And he doesn't know who this man is.
Barrett, can you bring up the first link
I put under topic of the show there?
Because Danny did take a picture of this.
Danny, Caliph, and
the one and only, Lupe Fiasco.
All right? So, of course, I'm freaking out about this.
I've met him a call.
couple times that it's always been a pleasure.
But my favorite thing about seeing this picture once Barrett can get it up is the background
of this picture.
That's me.
Because there's no one of the right.
No idea.
That was my buddy from DeCerto.
He was asking me about Tahoe fishing.
You know what I mean?
I was laying it down.
North Lake, South Lake, where you stay.
And he was really excited to get up there showing him the snow bike.
He looks as pink as you do.
There's a lot of things.
It's the lighting.
There's one more thing I want to bring up real quick.
The second one, Barrett, if you could bring this up, you didn't get to meet her.
But I'm so jealous that I wasn't at this event because Ariana Maddox, who is like the biggest star from Vanderpump rules.
And she is now bigger than Vanderpump, bigger than any of that stuff.
She was like, I think, second place in dancing with the stars.
Fucking reality TV show royalty.
Do they have multiple Arianas?
Yeah.
Well, Ariana is the, it's not a name.
It's like a level you get to.
When you're in a reality show.
Remember when there was Scandival?
I explained.
all of this to you. She was the
one that the dude cheated on her.
Oh, okay, got you. Anyways, here she is now
with Danny, which is awesome. So yeah, this
party was bumping. We were celebrating
Battlefield and the big EA reveal.
Of course, Roger's favorite
guy, DJ Pewee was
there, spinning the ones and twos. Anderson
Pock. Oh, okay, really? That's his
DJ name. Oh. Oh. So, Tim
went this beautiful... I thought it was a Peeby Herman
themed DJ. I would go listen to that.
Hollywood, downtown L.A. Club,
and it's got the inside dance floor. It's got
the outside. And everybody's like at the beginning
outside, take it in the fresh air.
Oh shit, that's Bree Larson. You know,
it was a lot of that. A lot of people were like, oh shit,
that's Brie Larson. I'm confused as to why Brie Larson,
is she a gamer? Do she actually, she cares?
Okay.
Brie Larson is always like doing partnerships with Nintendo.
Like back when Animal Crossing was kind of on the come up during the
pandemic and stuff, but she's continued to do stuff with Nintendo.
And yeah, she's a gamer.
Cool. Yeah. And so, boom,
all of a sudden, you hear over the megaphone.
I need everybody to come on into the dance.
floor, get your hands up. I'm like, man, what's going on here? Why are you yelling at my ear?
Here it comes. DJ Peewee's here. Big wig. He puts out a big wig. He's got the full on
90s track suit on like I like to wear and he's getting after it, Nick. I mean, the whole,
all the nerds were on the dance floor and they were getting down to it. And it was like,
it was kind of funny problem all over again. It was like, wow, people are dancing. They're
having fun. I haven't seen this at a party in a long time. It felt good.
Fuck yeah.
And so that was the after party.
I know we jumped ahead, but like you had to know.
You had to know about KCP and I's relationship.
It's going to be something special.
Did you see?
So in the distance, did you see the bark man?
No, I never saw the bark man.
I was locked in with my main man, John Drake.
And that's my bark man.
In Lisa Wallens' post where she took a selfie with Mike,
she's like, Travis Barker's like three feet away from us.
So he did probably and just never registered the barque.
Also, it would be fun to see if, like, Mike knows who Travis Barker is.
Like, if we showed him three pictures of, like, generic drummers.
I think you know it.
I'm on it.
Yeah, I'm in the tats, you know what I mean?
But, like, if he's wearing a long-sleevee shirt, I would never know.
You know what I mean?
If he had a hat on, if he had a hat on and a long-sleeve shirt, you couldn't see all the tats.
He's involved in too many genres to not know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's, he's true.
And, I mean, so many more celebs.
Jake Baldino.
Oh, yeah, dude.
Me and Jake Ballino?
Yeah.
Come on. So I fly in on, what day is it today? Friday?
So I left on what Tuesday then that means?
So we arrive on Tuesday to a beautiful downtown L.A.
We're on the marina.
What a cool little spot. I'm on the harbor.
Those photos looked fabulous.
You're reading your Xbox magazines out there.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Play a little donkey car.
What part of the city were you at Marina Del Rey?
Yes.
Okay.
That's where we were.
And so a nice little spot.
We had a little PR mixer, which you know I love.
Right?
Because then I get to meet all my friends from around the globe.
Me and the Europeans, me and the kids from South America, we gel instantly.
There's just an instant connection.
We're like, we're best friends, you know what I mean?
Jocuzzi on the late night with the kids from Germany.
Of course, I'm there.
You know what I mean?
Like, let's have a great time together.
But I'm mixing in.
He's just taking all these words in, man.
You don't do that.
I just, I just, it's so much fun.
You're just a bullshitter.
You got to go out, bro.
You've got to go out, Andy.
You just say things.
I'm telling you how it is, okay?
Made great friends.
Then Jake Baldino shows up at the very end.
I'm like, oh my God, it's my first time.
I get to hang out with Jake Baldino.
Very excited.
Oh, my God.
We're out of blast.
Everybody's laughing.
Here's some candy while I tell you some stories, all right, enjoy that.
And so we finish the night.
Kate Sanchez shows up, and everybody's riding the magic eye, Tim.
So what do we do?
We played a two-hour game of commander in the restaurant.
Hotel restaurant is fully shone.
shut down. The wait staff has cleaned
the entire place and now the construction
crew is in changing the light bulbs and ripping out part of the ceiling.
And there's four nerds. Just gaming.
You're like, not now. Not now.
We're not leaving this place. And I'll tell you what,
magic to kick off the event was really nice.
Yeah. Got a good eight hours of sleep.
Even live streamed. Don't know if you saw,
but an IRL live streamed a bunch from the hotel. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we had some seal watching.
Barrett, if you go to the video
of me on the deck and assets,
there's some really important conversation
that I want to have with everybody
because I was out there enjoying the docs.
Kabab's on TV, asked a really important question.
Have they talked about Battlefield yet?
Yeah, we're going to get to it.
Yeah, we'll get to it.
You don't need to know.
Can we get some sound on that one?
It's just him saying the word seals.
Seals.
Yeah.
Seals.
Tell you what.
Some beautiful moments, okay?
And then some National Geographic stuff.
Okay.
Because there's some boats out there.
People are living on these houseboats and join themselves.
And they had a little Pomeranian like you.
I called them Admiral Peppers coming off of the boat to go do his little peeps and come back onto the boat.
But as they're walking down the docks, what happens?
Seal starts coming up.
And now the question is, would this seal ever chomp on to Admiral Peppers?
Say Peppers is barking from the dock at this seal.
Would the seal come up?
Maybe.
It was stalking it, Tim.
That's scary.
That seal was stalking the boat.
So, hey,
damn, boat owner, you might want to be mindful of that.
Stay safe out there.
It was a blast.
And then let's talk about Battlefield because it's finally the day.
Ah, okay?
We arrive.
I got a cool video of both of the rooms.
I don't know.
Did you guys see the 30-minute live show presentation?
Tim, the whole team you all are going to freak.
Because you saw the X-D walls that they had.
Oh, yes.
The XD walls and the ceiling.
So we were recording and review and stuff, so we didn't get to see any of this stuff.
So everything's just the little glimpses from social I've seen.
And I'm incredibly jealous at the set of you.
You are going to go wild here.
And so this was the photo op situation for the team.
But as we do this, you'll see me walk into the event.
I thought that was the wall.
I was like, that's really immersive.
Wow, these guys really know what they're doing.
We are kind of in the same area in this giant warehouse that the team had rented out
and created into the space for the battlefield.
Six live reveal, right?
And so in this first spot, you'll see that's where they had the big press briefing.
You can see the two video walls on either side.
There was a video roof above us and the screen.
Then there was a press section where I was, and then the creator section to the left
that we have video of.
But of course, as we walk in very similar to Call of Duty Next that I showed you guys last
year, just this giant event space, computers as far as the eye can see, only in
battlefield moments up on the wall, which was awesome.
and there was my battle station to go out and play and have a good time in.
But the team really did something special with these giant video walls
and incorporating that into the broadcast and then also allowing us to do some really fun photo op situations.
But if you watch the 30 minute showcase, you'll see Vincent Pella and the team come out
and they'll go, hey, what's going on?
I'm director and executive producer, blah, blah, blah.
We want to show you battlefield.
But you know what?
This screen is too small and they snap.
and all of a sudden all the walls around us just turn on and flare up into all the downtown New York area.
And he's like, it wouldn't be Battlefield without some destruction.
And next thing, you know, you hear this helicopter flying in from behind us,
crashing into buildings on all the different screens,
and they're laughing, having a great time.
And they were so excited to showcase what they've been working on.
It's real wild that we are now under Battlefield Studio,
this umbrella that has four different teams working on it
and trying to put out the best game possible.
And to kick off with this fun presentation from Vince
in the Battlefield Studios team talking about multiplayer,
talking a little bit about the campaign,
and really just focusing in on the big core pillars
that they want to hit and showcase in this was really,
really fun and a great way to kick it off.
I mean, all the content creators were there next to us.
They were jazzed up.
They went into their room,
and they had a great broadcast with Golden Boy,
who led that one over there.
Awesome.
You'll definitely want, we'll bring up that video over there.
But yeah, it was a great tone center of, wow, this team at EA really believes in what they got with Battlefield.
And they wanted to make this Battlefield multiplayer reveal really special with a live broadcast, of course, with hundreds of press and media, hundreds of creators to go out and showcase.
And we left really hype.
And we're going to talk more about that.
We are.
Barrett, do you have the social video of Mike doing the whole thing?
because I would like to watch that.
After we get back from a word from our sponsors.
I'd like to watch it before and after.
I'll be real with you.
We should just book in everything with this from now on.
Give me a sec.
Yes, thank you.
Thank you very much, Barrett.
But yeah, I love this.
And I can't wait to actually talk about the game because I've got some questions.
Okay, we'll talk about the game.
How is the camera moving around you?
I love what he, like, drops character and like kind of like right here.
Yeah, right next to the millennial pause.
We'll be right back after a word from our sponsors.
You're the best.

We need you.
It's been a few years since we've done a big old audience survey to determine who watches our stuff, where you watch it,
what sorts of products you're open to seeing in terms of sponsors.
We've boiled this down to a hand.

Oh, and all of your answers will be completely anonymous, and we want you to be as honest as possible.
Head over to kindofunny.com slash survey to participate.
Thanks.
We got to hit it one more time.
Hit it one more time.
It's the grenade throw with the energy drink.
That's my favorite thing.
My favorite's the, it's too loud.
You've got to protect the ears.
There we were, as you saw.
Over in the press section, it was this massive room,
and they had set up the XD photo shoot.
I don't know what the term was, right?
But they had this giant wrapped video wall,
and then, of course, they had the motion camera.
You see that one guy with the long hair
and all the special award show do
that does the quick movements, right?
So they had that there set up.
And as we were setting up day one,
I remember hearing over the loudspeaker,
hey, creators and press,
you're now allowed to go to the XD wall.
and take a photo shoot.
I'm jump right up.
I'm first one there.
Let me get a 3D printed toy to myself.
You got Becca and you got Sarah over here who was setting you up.
And then you got Ben over here who's running it, right?
And I'm talking with the two girls.
I'm like, all right, so what's the deal?
And they're like, all right, well, we want to blow this up.
And I was like, okay, what do we got?
Because I'm wearing, I was wearing my athletics jersey on.
And they had a whole table full of gear you could wear.
So I was like, all right, let's suit up.
And they're like, what do you want to wear?
I was like, well, let's make it look real dope.
I got the bulletproof vest on.
I got the full helmet on.
I'm grabbing tear gas, and I'm grabbing an old school 90 cell phone.
And we're all laughing, right?
And so I walk on the stage.
And the guy's like, all right, so the camera's going to move.
And mind you, I have this giant military helmet on with earmuffs on.
I can't hear a word he's saying.
And he's like, you're going to hear a beep.
And I was like, I can't hear you.
So I'm not going to hear a beep.
He's like, there'll be a light right there.
I'm not even thinking of the wall behind me.
I had no thought at all.
So everything you see here is just pure luck that this happened.
Because I never...
They were like, I'll just do this.
I know what the wall was happening behind me.
Because I'm too focused here.
He's yelling, it's going to move and look at the light here.
I'm like, all right, I guess, you know?
And so I put it on.
And I'm literally like, I have tear gas and a phone.
And I was like, all right, I guess I'll do something with these, right?
And so the first one was awkwardly looking.
The second one was me chucking it.
And then the third one I wanted to,
call mom up, let her know I'm in the middle of a war zone.
And then the final one, I did this.
And somehow the camera angle is just perfect behind me
where the explosion somehow just looks so good on screen.
And so, yeah, I'm the first person to do this.
No idea that that's how it would turn out and look.
Yeah.
And it just worked out.
That's a fucking guide look.
Those arms are so sick when we were building the studio before we found the jib.
Nick and I were looking into this same camera thing.
the track because it's like it's specific like it could actually move in like any way you need it
to mkbhd on youtube house one and that's how he gets like the super sick like tech shots but it was like 400
thousand dollars there's a lot and the guy was like also it was very loud and i was like oh okay yeah i also
love that you caught an old school cell phone it's like the military like the military like a lamb radio
it's like the gta vice yeah yeah yeah i mean that's how i took it you know okay cool so obviously ton of fun i want to talk
about the game. Because I, last night, everyone was talking about this multiplayer trailer.
Like, you got to watch you, you got to watch it. And the use of Limbiscuit was inspired,
break stuff, so goddamn good. But obviously, Battlefield, all about the destruction. I've known
that forever. I have limited experience with the Battlefield series, but I loved Battlefield
1. I loved those little, the vignette, like single player story things. And then we had some fun
with Battlefield 5 doing a couple streams and stuff. But watching this trailer, it seems too good to be
true. This seems like the most
battlefield of all time going back to
really what the fans seem to want from Battlefield
4 and all of that. But like I,
from all the stories we've been reading on games daily of like the
expectations of this game and like there's a lot writing on this like for
success, they need this to be by far the most successful battlefield.
And all of us are like that. Why would they put that on this
franchise at this time? Like that's so bad. And I still think that's all bad.
Yeah. But seeing this, I'm like, but does it have this stuff?
the destruction issue looks insane.
Tim, when I arrived on Tuesday,
as you know, I love talking to people.
And my first question to everyone was,
what's your favorite battlefield and what are your expectations for this?
And a lot of people, similar to myself,
came in a little concerned, a little questioning of like,
does this team have it after 2042?
A lot of people were like, I don't know.
There's a hesitation here on the hype levels of,
I want this, of course, battlefield and this game to be great,
but I don't know if they got it.
And we left that with the vibes and the hype level through the roof.
Every single person that played, every person that I talked to had an absolute blast and only wanted to play more.
And it speaks volumes to the team blowing out this giant reveal, having all of us there playing it live, that they believe in this.
And they are really nailing it from the experience that I had, right?
And so the battlefield that you know and love, Tim, has a lot of things going on in it, right?
they're coming back with a campaign, something they didn't do in 2042.
They have a giant multiplayer suite that players will know that's all about destruction,
all about all out warfare, all about big, giant set piece maps with a lot of awesome
vehicles to go and ride around in.
Then on top of that, they have Battlefield Portal coming back, which is that user-generated
content that now has like a really special revamped engine to it that will actually
be able to really go to the future of creating stuff with these people.
And then they teased the Battle Royale at the very end, which they didn't tell us about
the day one of the briefing.
They were like, somebody asked a question about batterer and they were like, well, we're
not talking about that today.
We don't know.
But stay tuned.
And then, of course, the next day, they show us a little tease.
And it's like, oh, this is so cool.
Ring of Fire is back, you know.
And so, yeah, they have a lot going on.
But from the multiplayer experience that I got to have with so many people,
It was epic.
It was awesome.
It was running well.
It was everything that you want from Battlefield
with just so much destruction,
so much mayhem,
and just a whole lot of laughter and fun.
And so, yeah,
I'm down to answer any questions,
and I'll give you the run-through of how great this was
because it feels like a return to form
of Battlefield 3 and 4.
If those are the games that you kind of think back on
with nostalgia and that's the desire you want from this,
that is what you're getting in a modern,
setting and in 2025 with all the bells and whistles that you can imagine.
They're returning to the OG4 class system.
You'll have recon.
You'll have support.
You'll have engineer.
You'll have assault, right?
So your assault class is all about getting into the mix.
You'll have your assault rifles.
You have your noob tube to tear down a wall.
They also showed the assault class with a sludge hammer and these cool ladders up to the
windows.
We didn't have those tools, but you could see them in there.
You also have your support, which is your medic, right?
We're defib and all of our friends.
Me, Nikki Grayson and Mike Huber from Easy Allies.
My first time getting to be with Michael Huber ever.
A lot of people brought this guy's name up and they said,
Mike and Mike got to get together.
Never has it happened until that weekend.
A lot of people.
A lot of people.
And we had a blast.
It was the best of times together.
So much laughter from the three of us.
And it's just running around defib and your friends,
throwing down med packs and just having a good time.
your recon is Andy as the sniper
and then your engineer is the people
that can repair tanks
there you're kind of like hey there's a vehicle
here we need you to throw out the RPG and get
after it so they're returning to the classic
roles and classes that everybody knows which is very cool
and how many people do you have playing here in this map
like how many people you play here? 32 on 32
to make 64s on the big scale maps
and then they had smaller game modes
which were very fun to play as well we'll talk about
but they have your classic game modes
conquest breakthrough and
Those are what you know of battlefield.
Those are the big, large, all-out warfare game modes
that have 64 people running around,
and it's just insane.
From capturing points, like you see here where there's five points,
and you kind of capture all the points,
reduce the tickets of the other team.
Breakthrough is where you go,
and there's two points.
One team is defending.
The other team is tacking.
If you capture those points,
we go into the third point,
and the fourth point until you win or lose by getting stopped.
And so, yeah, we got to see a lot of cool stuff.
we also got to see the smaller game modes,
which I like, right?
I like the intimate battles within the smaller combat zones
of these large maps that they could showcase.
What were those like?
Yeah, what was that?
Squad death match is a blast.
So they have King of the Hill domination,
just like you would expect.
But they have this game called squad death match,
which is four or five squads of four in just a death match setting.
So first to 50, good luck.
There's four different teams out there, kill each other.
And it's just absolutely.
mayhem running around. Is it first
to so many kills? First to 50.
Yeah, yeah. Okay. Team kills. See, I love that
because I think that the big, the big map
32, 32, that just didn't
work for me last time. I think it's just too much of a
chaotic thing. And I understand that like,
like we played with Bruce and Bruce really
understood the sort of strategy
and the mechanics and the rotations of the game. And I'm just like,
I don't know, that's a lot for me
to wrap my head around. And also, when it
launched, it was a bit broken. So I'm excited to
jump into some of those smaller modes with you
guys. We were really impressed.
with how it ran. We were going into servers and it was running well. We were not experiencing,
I had no issues running at all. It was a lot of fun. Everything ran very smoothly. So it gives you hope.
Of course, they have three beta weekends coming up this month that will kind of be like the big test
worldwide. But with us with 300 plus people there all trying to ping servers and play, everything
worked. It was awesome. It was flawless for us. And so yeah, it was a lot of fun. And Nick, I think
you're going to like this one.
The big all-out warfare maps, Nick,
didn't feel as big or as large or as you could get lost in them
as some of the other ones from the last game.
Yeah, I didn't love, you know, you die.
And they're like, okay, let's pick a different spawn point.
You're like, well, we're now 40 miles away from where we were before.
It doesn't make you feel connected to the rest of the players on the map.
And it kind of just, to me, I was like, what is the goal here?
What are we doing?
It feels a little too grindy.
And that, that is battlefield at its core.
So that's not going away.
So you either understand Battlefield and you're into that or you're going to feel that.
And that's where it's at.
This is just definitely one of those times where I'm like, I need to put way more time into it.
But I think that the tech got in the way of that last time.
I think we all faded from that game very, very quickly.
But I was surprised because we played three large maps.
And I thought that, you know, when I think Battlefield, I think these really big maps,
where it does take a long time to hoof across the map if you're not in a vehicle.
And you kind of never see one side of the map.
These larger maps felt smaller to me.
Right? I think, you know, Stone Mountain showed it really well when he got in the jet and kind of flew overhead.
You could see the more like on-foot combat zone.
Yeah.
That looks a lot more.
That looks a lot more interesting.
Yeah.
Because you have a lot more close quarter like interactions here.
You're obviously, I think that guy just completely cloned you out.
No disrespect.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, you were trying to nail that guy.
He just put you on your ass.
He did also clown out Shotsie at one point.
Shotsie.
That's a CDL champion.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, that's a big time goat right there.
I defibed scumpy.
I stole Nate shots dog tags.
That was a big deal.
Ripped it right off.
Give me those.
Jibrooney.
Fucking Trump voter.
Yeah, it was really cool of like
the maps felt a little different
as well.
And of course, there are nine maps at launch.
We only saw about three.
So there's a lot more to go.
But there never felt like when we were playing
2042 and there was the giant
tower with the spaceship
or the two giant buildings.
Every map that we played,
the building size was probably three levels.
maximum. So there was never a moment where it's like, Andy, you're all the way up there,
50 levels up. I can't see you. The last time we kept taking the elevator up. I'm like,
I don't want to get an elevator and wait in a game. I'm sure they'll bring some of those.
They'll probably have those. But the three that we got to experience, everything felt like ground
level and just a little above, which was really cool, right? You never felt like, oh, that guy's so
far away from me. And the destructability, Tim, right? That's what battlefields, bread and butter is.
That's what it's known for. And all of these maps are just,
meant to be torn apart and absolutely ripped through.
Didn't use my favorite word in video games, though.
Levolution.
Never said Levolution once this time.
Of course, Levolution, a little bit different than destructability and
destructible environments.
Levolution is that one place on the map that will have something change about it and
forever change the course of the map for the remainder of the game, right?
So Levolution wasn't mentioned here at all.
None of the maps that we played had anything like that.
where you set the spaceship up, you blew up the dam,
or if you remember Battlefield 4,
when you bring down the big tower in the middle of Shanghai,
which was cool.
Yeah, did any of them have a large POI like anything like that?
No.
So far, what I've seen here looks cool.
It looks super close cores.
That looks like it could have just been a 4V4, you know,
Slayer map or whatever.
But it doesn't look like what we had played prior in 2042,
where there were just these, like, are there long expanses of just, like, flat open ground and trees and stuff like that?
Not in the three maps that we played.
This seems a lot more interesting.
The three maps that we played, there was only one that was really outside of a city like that, Andy, because we played Cairo, which is what you're seeing right now.
We played New York, both of those very heavy city dens.
You're in the streets moving through buildings that you would normally see.
And then we went out to one.
Yeah, this reminds me a lot of, like, I think it's fortunes keep.
from like war zone where there was a lot of like the max verticality was three stories you were a lot
of like corridor yes style uh gameplay and in encounter when we on the mountain peak that was as far out
of like oh there's like long stretches and those long stretches were tiny there was a lot more
cover there was more to be seen but there was a big stretch of it reminded me halo
with blood gulch where there's just like the sniper alley up on the far side over there
there was a strip that was like oh you're on the side of the peak you're
sniping and then the rest of it was like oh we're in the buildings we're running around this small
town having some fun vehicle play where you do i mean we know you you you love that helicopter
yeah i mean battlefield's a a tricky one when it comes to vehicle play because it's all about the
spawn moment and are you just spawn camping the vehicle right so like it is very tough in a battlefield
match to constantly get the helicopter or jet fighter that you want because someone else is
clicking on that your spawn time might not be the exact same
same time. So you either have to weigh, am I waiting for this to try to click on it when it
logged in or should I just go back to the game? And so unfortunately, I didn't get the fly in a
jet or a helicopter. I did get in the tank multiple times and an SUV. It was a ton of fun.
I got some cool stuff now where it's not just one, one to four people. You can have like six people
and the back two guys jump on the back of the tank and hold on from the outside like you're
following it with like a skateboard. It was really cool to do that. Gun from the back.
No, they had both hands on.
I didn't try to shoot, though.
But, like, yeah, you can jump on the back, which was super cool.
And so, yeah, vehicles felt great, looked great.
We only had one map where there was a jet fighter,
maybe only one map with a helicopter as well.
Most of the time it was smaller urban environments
with a tank and maybe an SUV.
Was there any semblance of progression?
No, not with us.
You could tell, like, there will be because there was locked stuff.
But, of course, they had different weapon mods.
that you could tune up your gun in the creative class.
Every single time you die, you can go into the four classes and select what gun you want.
You can use any gun with every single class and you can modify them.
They do a hundred points scale, Andy, for the attachments.
Okay.
So each attachment is like, oh, the underbarrels, 30 points.
This one's 10 points.
That one's 20 points.
So you're adding up how to get to 100 on what you want.
But that was cool.
Damn, you're a keyboard mousing out there.
I was full keyboard mouseing it as well, Andy.
I did really well.
Congrats.
They got this sick revive motion now animation where when your friend is downed,
you can grab them and can actively move them away into different cover areas while you're resting.
That's cool.
That's cool.
So it's like instead of just being stuck in one spot, you can get a hold of them and move them.
And it's really, really fun.
It's a little complicated on keyboard mouse because you're holding E while trying to move the Wazda keys around.
Well, you got to remap that.
Yeah, you got to remap that.
I mean, I had a lot of things, Matt.
You played as a, you played how it lies, though.
You were, yeah.
You know, me and Hector, we didn't want to go too far.
Yeah.
No.
He's going to break the thing already.
He's too busy calling Andy.
And so, yeah, I had, the level,
the hype levels coming out of this are so high.
It was impressive.
It was a lot of fun.
And they have something here.
They have an opportunity to bring back battlefield in a really awesome,
fun way with the campaign, the multiplayer to portal,
to this battle royale once we learn more
that I think can really land.
If you're a fan of first person shooters,
if you're looking for something new,
October 10th is right around the corner.
There's two open beta weekends at the end of the month.
There's a closed beta that a lot of people
already got invites to.
If you're part of the lab team,
which was all the playtest kids,
if you were watching any one of the streamers,
I know a lot of our community got to watch me,
and they earned free codes to get in.
So it's going to be a wild month of August to see everybody jump into battlefield and give what they think.
Is there single player in this?
Yes, there's single player campaign.
Okay.
Yes, we didn't learn anything about that.
We've only seen the one, we've seen like two pieces now.
So they had the one first announcement, which is, hey, countries from Europe are leaving NATO.
And America and what's left of NATO are now going up against this private military group.
And we got to stop them, right?
And so that was like kind of the biggest tease you saw.
We're going all over the world.
We're also coming to the U.S. in New York.
And then they gave us a little bit more this time around with like some characters,
faces.
And they gave us the team name is dagger one or something like that.
So they said, and I yelled, oh, oh, Andy, you better be ready.
They're like, we want to make memorable characters.
So hopefully we don't have a soap McTavish situation where Andy can remember the characters
and like love them, you know.
There was a statement from one of the.
the devs, maybe probably one of the leads in an interview recently saying,
we don't expect seeing Nikki Minaj in this game. We want to keep things grounded.
We're not going for all the crazy skins and stuff. Hey man. If you don't have a Snoop Dog skin
or four, you're not really playing out. How am I going to be Roger from American Dad, you know?
It is so funny you bring that up because when I talk to different creators and press and media,
that was almost one of the first things they brought up was like there's this big
conversation now because of Call of Duty and, you know, Fortnite's its own beast,
but really because of Call of Duty, adding in Beavis and Butthead
and adding in these characters that don't quite mix
with the military shooter game that you know and love.
And like, we started to dip our toe into that with like 21 Savage and Nikki Minaj.
But something got pushed a little bit further recently with Beavis and Butthead
where it just doesn't look like it's part of the game.
Yeah, they're like sell shade a bit.
So they look very different.
It was a great meme I saw recently of like, you know, go one of the jokes that
everybody always has about battlefield,
and it's one of the things that I definitely don't love
about my battlefield experiences is getting snipe
from seven miles away by somebody that you didn't even,
it's just like, you know, you got sniped,
and it's like the person is like way the fuck over there,
and they're like getting sniped in battlefield
in the photo below it was the same photo,
but getting time to call duty,
but you just see like Beavis's head in the distance.
Like just a big ass.
So good.
And so it's really interesting that that was on the mind
of a lot of people, from press to creators,
when I would ask, hey, what's your hype level?
What's your favorite?
What are you looking for?
A lot of people said, I don't want these crazy, wacky skins in this game.
And I think there's a real conversation that'd be had of like, yeah.
You didn't know that?
No, I don't know that.
There's the community side and what you want and desire.
And then there's also the business side of like eventually the damn breaks
where you can't keep selling the same generic ammo guy.
You do break into that.
But from what I heard, there was no conversations about cosmetics with me or from the team.
in any of the interviews that I saw,
but people did ask, it seems like, in their interviews,
and it seems like that team was kind of like,
no, we're not doing that.
So we'll see what the vibe is two years from now,
if that ever happens.
But I think as of right now,
you probably will not be seeing Scooby-Doo and Shaggy
in your game anytime soon.
I love the idea of a documentary of them being like,
well, the real big turning point was Beavis.
That was really where we just, like,
we veered too far.
We jumped the shark with Beavis and Bud End.
Got some super chats. Jake writes in saying, how solid did gameplay feel?
2042 felt really fake.
This one felt really good.
Hit registration, gun feel, recoil, all felt great.
Destructability and really the sound design just carried so much, right?
When you were in a building and all of a sudden the walls start crumbling down around you and a tank is skirted by you,
it's like there's so much going into the experience that it felt good.
It felt way better than 2042, and it felt like going back to Battlefield 4, and that's a special thing.
Did you have moments, like some of the moments that I really enjoyed playing the finals,
where you're on the second, third floor of a building, and the building is caving in,
and you are seeing the floor physically fall down below you, and you are falling down with it.
Did anything like that happen with you?
Or was it being, or walls being knocked out and things like that?
Yeah, I mean, I didn't have any moments for, like, I was on a second story,
caved underneath me.
I definitely was in some buildings where all of a sudden the walls
just like you could hear it.
There's a moment where you're hearing it.
It's like, oh, this building's about to crumble right now.
And then everything around you is changed.
What's causing the building to crumble?
Is it other players in a tank shooting it or something?
Tanks, noob tubes, grenades, C4.
There's a number of tools that you can use as a player to change the environment
to get the advantage that you need.
They showed in the big showcase, but like if somebody's sniping you from
a second story window, right? You can throw up the C4
nube tube it and blow out the whole entire wall. And it's like, well,
there goes their cover, right? Or they were on top and they were like,
hey, is somebody below you or above you, blow up the floor? And either
they're coming down on you or you're going to be on top of them with an advantage,
which was cool. Casper says, do you think the game will stay alive till Battle Royale comes out?
And from what you played, will Battle Royale fit well? You killed it out there, Mike.
You're the best. Thanks, homie. Yeah, I think this game is going to find a big audience.
I think this game is going to come out with what I experienced with a whole lot of hype and energy.
I think October 10th, if servers hold up, if everything that they're doing right now that I experience is there on day one,
I think people are going to be blown away by what they experience here, especially you'll see it over the next three weeks.
This beta, I think will have a lot of people going, wow, this is fun, this is cool.
I want to experience this.
There will be people not throwing shade of Nick.
That will be like, hey, battlefield's not my thing.
It's like that's fine, you know what I mean?
But I think people will find something to love in here.
It wasn't that battlefield is not my thing.
It's that coming off of Cod and having it be,
like coming off of war zone and having it actually work and be in that being my preferred experience.
It was an uphill battle to sell me on that.
And I was all in for a hot second.
It was just when they launched the last one, it just did not work.
Of course.
It just was.
Yeah, you cannot fumble this long.
You cannot have a game that's going to take on war zone and have it suck.
Well, that also comes into.
portal, right? If portal and this user-generated content is there,
day one or early in the life cycle, you have so many players there and you have the
opportunity, like Halo with Forge, to find an audience that loves this opportunity to...
Custom game types, go crazy. They have a server browser where you can find
different servers to jump into. You'll have different game modes that people create.
They highlight, like, how the community loves to play with different things of
restricting certain weapons on maps, going one-shot kills, building out.
you saw the only up showcase.
If you watch the showcase,
they build like an only up running up the world map
that like you can just create.
It's very cool.
So the user generated content will be a big carry in this
as well for the diehards.
And now we talk about the four studios.
One of them is dedicated to this battle royale
and that's ripple effect.
Right?
They didn't show us much at all.
What do you know about the battle royale so far?
I don't know anything.
There's been some leaks.
Just the teaser.
There you could check out from Tom Henderson and his team over there.
at Inside Gaming, but I haven't read a bunch of that.
I haven't seen that, but all they showed us was it does seem like it's L.A.
Because there's a Hollywood mansion, there's palm trees, there's a pool,
and there's just awkwardly a bunch of people like running away from something off camera.
And they're not like quite shooting at each other.
So it wasn't like a, this is clear as day about a Royale?
It looked like a weird, like, is this going to be a zombie thing?
Like, there wasn't a good, they didn't showcase it well.
But then they turned the camera.
it's the ring of fire coming in.
And if you've played battlefield before,
you know when their first attempt of Battle Royale
was the Ring of Fire mode,
which slowly comes in.
So you like immediately knew, oh shit,
it's on, right? And so,
yeah, I mean, the destructability
that they have, the vehicles,
the large scale maps
to player, you know, play modes,
I think fits in really well to a Battle Royal.
It just depends on the player base
if it's still there, how well it's received,
I think there's a great chance here.
Andy, you've been pretty quiet during this episode.
Are you hype for this?
I was only hyped to when a battle royale was announced.
That's the thing that will get me in a play for sure.
I mean, I'm definitely going to play it anyways.
Like, I enjoy, you know, first person shooting.
I enjoy keyboard mouse shooters,
and I could have fun just, I've mentioned before.
It's like I, you could just put like little, you know,
squares on the screen and I could just close.
click them and go into AIM Labs and like I could find fun in that or whatever but I the battlefield
mode has never really resonated with me either it's always I've mentioned it's always kind of felt
like a pregame war zone lobby yeah that's a great way of putting it but the uh and that's just
different strokes for different folks I know that like some people are like Andy you're wrong it's like
no I'm just I just don't vibe with that game that's not your pervert experience it's like yeah it's like
telling a battle royale person to you know you should check out counterstriker valor and it's
me with Overwatch. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just
don't like the hero shoot. Yeah, it's like the,
that mode, I just don't really vibe with it.
But seeing what we saw with the maps here,
it,
it seems like a lot of those
sort of more urban areas
that you are kind of battling
it out, that looks a lot more
interesting to me than the massive
wide open fields and
running out, getting shot and be like, all right, I'll
just spawn here again. I guess
it's like, I got just kind
of very, very tired and, you know, that
that wore very thin pretty quickly for me.
But a battle royale, I am 1,000% in four,
and even the smaller game type modes.
And I love destruction.
I love a good sounding video game that I'm not getting shot by Cheez and Chong,
you know, they're in war zone.
Are they really?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Cool.
Everyone's in war zone, bro.
I love it.
You're in war zone.
You just didn't know, we signed the contract.
I didn't know, man.
Damn.
That's fine.
We got a couple last super chats going back to the city talk here.
Ricardo says, as someone who lived there, Miami ain't it.
And then Gator, mashed potato says,
as someone who is from Vegas, I can confirm,
we're just getting by.
And then Samsonel says, I want to play the beta,
but the $100 Canadian entry price is tough.
Well, guess what, Big Dog, it's two weeks of open beta.
You don't have to pay anything at all.
So play the beta, see what you're thinking,
then go from there on October 10th.
But, yeah, that first one is a closed beta,
and then the next two to round out the month,
they're completely open and free.
So hopefully you'll be jumping in.
And then final one for this is Mike, who says,
I'm a videographer for the University of Michigan,
and one of our studios has two of those robo arms that we're filming Mike's BF6 photo shoot.
Very cool.
Have fun with those things, man.
I'm jealous.
Yeah.
So sick.
Well, Mike, thank you.
Oh, I have one more.
Yeah, go for it.
I don't know if you know.
But there was an injustice that happened this week earlier this week.
Okay.
There was two consensual adults that consented to a trade.
and this office, 99% of this office agreed.
Okay?
All of them.
They said, let this trade go through.
Okay?
Mike wants Ninja Guide and 4.
Roger wants Crimson desserts.
Okay?
And so we, as two adults came together and we said,
we said, hey, office, may we make this trade?
I love it.
Everybody said yes.
Everyone said yes.
To the point that, like, there's a Reddit post,
there's a change.
about it.
Viral video.
There's a viral video about it.
I started to go fund me for it.
I mean, and like there's this moment here.
There's even, there's footage of maybe someone changing their mind.
Yeah.
I also, it was interesting, I was looking through our expense reports and I saw $5
for a voice actor named Bandi Cortnez.
Oh, that's a piece.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I find very suspicious in terms of, you know, maybe altering, you know,
probably unrelated.
Interesting, interesting.
You think if you're trying to change someone's mind to get you,
to get everybody on board,
maybe you wouldn't hire, you know,
a trying like hungry voice actor to pretend to be him.
Maybe you don't call him while he's on vacation with family he has.
What is we supposed to do?
We didn't know we're going to come back.
It wasn't on the calendar.
So we just want to look to you.
We just want to look to you Barrett right now, the real Barrett.
And we just want to say that we love you.
You're our best friend.
at the office.
Two consenting adults.
Two consenting adults.
And like, honestly, do you want to stand
in between two consenting adults
and their business and what we do?
You don't want to do that.
You don't want to do that.
So why don't you be on the right side of history
and say yes to this trade?
Because today is the last day at work.
So we would really love to get this done.
We want to get this trade done before Friday.
Yeah, Barry, we didn't tell you, we're closing the office
on Monday permanently.
We will reopen Monday evening, though.
The law is the law, unfortunately.
It's true.
Right now the law stands.
has no trades.
Oh, wow.
He's a big law guy.
You know what guys?
I don't have to agree with all the laws the way that they are.
Yeah, it's crazy.
Okay, wow.
Okay.
Just know that, uh, yeah, hell is going to be paid.
Yeah, you're, you're, you're, you guys are all fucked.
Wow.
Like, well, is that a threat to all of you guys?
We were on your side.
Oh, wow.
Even to me at KCP?
Oh, you're part of it.
Oh, okay.
I saw I have to be a bad guy.
I don't know what that means.
Even me, I did a fucking perfect beard impression.
I knew it.
Jiminy Crickets, everybody.
Something's happening.
I'm not exactly sure where we're at with this right now.
I know there's no trades.
Yeah, it seems like this weekend, you know, moods will be different.
Who knows?
Not my mood.com.
I'm just happy to be back.
Promocode kind of funny.
I mean, fantasy football, you can do trades.
Yeah.
Just, you know, all that stuff is illegal everywhere.
What I need somebody to do is to listen to not the first episode we did of the fantasy critic,
but the one of us doing the results from last year's.
because I'm pretty sure we had a conversation about the trades that's not being addressed.
Oh, okay.
A wrinkle that I'm not going to go back and watch because I don't care that much.
Right.
But I just want to kind of understand this stuff, Andy.
You know what I mean?
I'm trying my best.
Best your critics confusing.
But anyways, let us know in the comments below what you think about, you know.
Battlefield 6.
Mike's experience.
Mike mean KCP.
KFC, yeah.
And anyways, we're about to do, what are we doing after this?
We're doing a showdown.
Oh, game showdown.
We're doing game showdown.
I'm in this one.
It's going to be awesome.
Awesome. I love you guys. Goodbye. Are you? Yes.
