Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm back, and that means we're doing more movie trivia, video game movie trivia. Welcome back to Game Showdown. What's up, everybody? Welcome to Game Showdown. I'm going to be your host, and this episode is presented to you by five-hour energy. Blast-through Outer Worlds to In-style with an exclusive skin for your Raptodon in-game pet, brought to you by five-hour energy. When you purchase a Purpleberry Punch or Maca-Mellon brew five-hour energy product, you'll receive an unique code to unlock exclusive the Outer Worlds to Ingame Content.
Starting point is 00:00:38 I'm your host, Nick Scarpino. You know who I am. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. How is that for teeth? Was that okay for teeth this time? Okay, because we tried that before and I got some feedback from the peanut gallery.
Starting point is 00:00:53 That my grin was too big. Rounding out. Our team here. First up, Greg Miller. Hi. How are you? Team blue? That's right.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Champion. Yeah. repeat. Robbed last week. I would like to apologize. I saw a lot of comments. I saw a lot of comments on the comments of the show on the subreddit. That great episode of game showdown,
Starting point is 00:01:14 except that Greg was being a little whiny baby about it and all this different stuff. And so I would like to apologize to everyone who was on the right side of history and protested with me that you have to put up with these fucking slugs in the comments who are like, no, he should have just accepted getting screwed over. They stole it from him, but it's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:32 That's how it is. It's disgusting that in 2025, so few of you have a fucking spine that you are so afraid to stand up to big Roger Pocorny, big blessing Adioje Jr. But not me. I won't be silenced.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Neither will the dozens of people who are on the right side of history. Well, thank you for that, Greg. That very brief and pointless comment. Second of the team, Mr. Snowbike, Mike, on Team Purple. What up, Nick? It's great to have you hosting. And I didn't know we were doing an episode about apologizing, because I have to apologize as well.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I had a bit here plans. I would like to apologize to Carl Jacobs, our incredible Patreon producer, to my grandmother and Danielle Z. Because I've been wearing this Boston Red Sox jersey, and I don't mean it. Okay? I'm a New York Yankees fan for life, okay? That's for you, New York. Is this how this show? What?
Starting point is 00:02:31 Yes, Nick. Is this how this show normally goes? There are people here showing up to compete in some video game trivia, and they just have to deal with nonsense. But shout out New York. Shout out. Mike, how big is this jersey? This jersey I thought was going to fit me somehow into dress, okay?
Starting point is 00:02:48 I'm mad. It's a boom. You look like a fucking kid in his dad's baseball jersey at the game. And rounding out our contestants, the one, the only, Mr. Tim Giddies, on his favorite color team orange. And we're starting off with a trivia question worth 10 points and a chance to start off strong. You're going to buzz in for the answer. Contestants, are you ready?
Starting point is 00:03:10 Ready. Like Mike, the biggest Yankee fan on the planner, are you ready? Ready. I'm glad to have you, Mike. I'm like the captain Derek Jeter ready for the action. Here's your first question. In 2001, the most expensive video game movie of all time was created, or of that time was created, with an all-star cast featuring Alec Baldwin.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Tim Gettys. I mean, this must be Larcroft Tomb Raider, correct? That is incorrect. 2001. Alec Baldwin. James Woods and Steve Ushmi. What is the title of the film?
Starting point is 00:03:49 It's the expensive bit that's one, I don't know the cast either, but it's, you know what I mean? The fact that he's making such a big deal about that. But during that time, it's like, yeah, I feel like just whatever was coming out would have been. No. Greg Miller?
Starting point is 00:04:07 Doom? Incorrect. There's no mic, Mike. Yes. I was going to say, doom, thank you. You got a swing. You know what? When I hear Steve Bouchemy, I think of one guy.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Pixels. No, not in 2001. Way too already. Put it on the board. Do we get to do another round? No, no. I actually do want to do one more round. I'm going to allow this.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Tim, we're going to go about you. I, surprisingly, have never seen this movie, but Final Fantasy Spirits Within. Oh, I did watch that. Is that your final answer? It is. That you're only, answer. Yeah. No, he had an answer. Well, I wish you to answer that first, Tim, because that is the correct answer. And you know what? I saw that in theaters and can't tell you who was in it. Wow. I mean, Roger wrote that question and I didn't bother fact checking it. Let's give Tim points for that. Why not? Thank you. Let's go. Tim, thank you for that. Remember, of course. Can I have five points? No. We're not bargaining for points. But you do look, I was bargaining for points. But you do look at bargain. I was asking. It's a difference. Well, you did help him get to the answer by getting the wrong answer first. And you do look really good in this incredible crew.
Starting point is 00:05:10 that you're wearing right now. Greg, where can people find that Grudeauage? Homage. Great. Thank you for that. Remember everyone. What a weird, kind of funny podcast. This is Game Showdown. Kind of Fuddy's nerdy game show that you can watch live right here on Twitch and YouTube. Starting point is 00:05:36 show. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, a Megabuster, and Delaney. saw them twining. Today, we're brought to you by Five Hour Energy, but we'll tell you about that a little bit later. For now, let's play Round Robin. It fits so well. It's a me episode. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:06:00 We're throwing everyone for a loop here. Okay, so you guys got to lock it. We'll lock it. The rules are simple round Robin is a pretty straightforward question and answer game about video games. What happened? Don't worry about it. I'm just too wrong.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Just roll it. All right, we're going to go with it. Sorry, people are just screaming in the background. And Roger waved to me, he said goodbye. I like to believe Rogers is going on a little vacation. Wow, what a surprise. Roger's screaming in here, throwing everyone off their game and then acting like nothing's wrong and that Mike deserves points. I'm shocked.
Starting point is 00:06:29 You know what? Mike, you know what? You've been real quiet this whole time. Don't fucking do it. You've been. Don't you fucking do it. This doesn't matter to you, I understand. Very professional.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Thank you. And very lovely to work with. Thank you. I'm going to give you 10 points for that. Let's get a 10 points. You're awesome. Had some tactical difficulties and Mike is really holding it down right now. Lesser, you're clapping back there.
Starting point is 00:06:53 You like the order. You're responsible for the show. Thanks for the week off, Nick. This is great. I love that you have a week off, but you're still here supporting the show, and I appreciate that. You make it entertaining. Here's my thing, right? I have to change for this show.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I like order. You know what I mean? I like rules. And so would I let them guess again for the opening question? No. I mean, would I just give Mike points? No. But I view the way I view Bowser and Mario Party.
Starting point is 00:07:19 We're like all the rules go out the window. You do what you want. Have fun. Thanks, blessing. I appreciate that. Actually, round of a pause for blessing, everyone. For coming out on his day off. That's God-given Sunday.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Do we need to take the intro of that again, or are we okay? No, we're fine. We roll. Okay, we are fantastic. The rules are simple. Ron Robin is pretty straightforward question and answer game about video games. This one, video game movies. I'll give you a question.
Starting point is 00:07:41 You have your buzzers that you'll use and try to buzz in and answer that question. You can buzz in once per round. If you give the question. correct answer, that's 10 points. Contestants, are you ready? Yeah. Okay. Roger! Oh shit, it runs out of the fucking area.
Starting point is 00:07:58 It's hard to concentrate. When I hear Roger every five seconds go, oh shit. And then do that cute little run he does where he looks like he has a turd in there. I don't know if he can call your employees runs cute. Roger, edit that out. I think the buzzer machine broke or something. Oh, okay. I think it died up bad.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Roger's got to sit on the ground now to be close to a power outlet I've never seen such a freaked out look from Roger where he looked at me, he's like, fuck, and then runs across the room, I think plug in and he does this cute run across the room. The Reddit's right. Roger, are we ready?
Starting point is 00:08:36 Contestants are you ready? Yeah! Question number one for Round Robin throughout the 2000s. There was an infamous film director that's specialized in directing Greg Miller. Nope, it's...
Starting point is 00:08:47 Oh, I apologize. guys. Tim Getty. Uie Bull. That is correct. Wow. Wow. Clap it up.
Starting point is 00:08:55 You got that. You knew that, right, Greg? Yeah, 100%. That's what, but I thought I had it too. Fucking fat fingers. Mine or yours? Mine.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Great. I was slow in the draw. He got me, he got me honestly for once. He didn't have to go fucking to the electoral college to beat me. Wow. Question number two. Ova Bull,
Starting point is 00:09:14 if it's pronounced, directed six original video game adaptations. Can anyone name me two of them? Snowbike, Mike. Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Apocalypse, Resident Evil 5 Extinction,
Starting point is 00:09:32 Resident Evil 7, the Scarecrow. I'm going to say no. I'm going to say Greg Miller. I only got one, I think, and that's upsetting. No, I'm just letting you know. What, it was House of the Dead, and then it was, Didn't he do a
Starting point is 00:09:53 E? Did he do dead or alive? Was there a dead or live? I'm going to say dead or live. Incorrect. Tim Geddy. Let's go House the Dead and Postal. Correct.
Starting point is 00:10:11 But you know what? Because Mike named more than one Resident Evil movie, I'm going to give him 10 points for that. But he also said, I'm going to give it to him. You were nail it and you were like, I'm running out of his name.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Sit under that. That desk and charge that goddamn thing. Wait. Looks like he's getting an earthquake drill over there. Did he do? Is he stop jumping and rolling? All right. Number three,
Starting point is 00:10:33 lock in. A lot of a second screen experience this one so people know. Come on over at Instagram.com slash game over. You can see my old story there. There it is. We got to not give out more points. I'm vetoing the rest of the points being given. All right.
Starting point is 00:10:45 He is, he is my boss. So I will veto the rest of the points here. But Mike. So Mike got those points. I mean, the points are there. Points have been said the points in there.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Where am I at points-wise? 30. You're just worth 10 points. Yeah. All right. Yes, they're worth 10 points. You had 40 for a second there.
Starting point is 00:11:01 I think that was a miscalculation. 10 points. Don't also be about you, A, bowl. This is a numbers game. Love it. You're each going to give me a different number. The person with the number closest to the answer
Starting point is 00:11:19 without going over the point. It gets the price's right rules. This is prices right rules. Do we buzz or we use that? You don't have to buzz in for this. Actually, once you pick up your boards here for this. We'll do this.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Don't show each other. your work. I'm saying Mike's name first, but I want you guys to know you're all being asked this question. But I'm saying Mike's name, that is incorrect. Him smells wonderful. Well, you can put good after that. Go to the audience. Oh, you're writing a lot more now. Now the joke is
Starting point is 00:11:50 okay, well, you can't show that to the audience. You can't see that. You can't see that. Locking in. I'm saying Mike's name on this, but I want everyone to answer this question. I just want him to feel supported. We got to write the number. How many? Theatrical Resident Evil movies have been released.
Starting point is 00:12:11 How many? Theatrical Resident Evil movies. Are you ready? Yeah. All right. Greg, let's start with you. Six. Mike? Five.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Seven. Oh. Seven is correct. God damn it. You can't forget. Welcome to Raccoon C. You can't forget that. Hands on the buzzers. First one that buzzers in wins.
Starting point is 00:12:46 The 10 points. Question number four. is pixels a good movie oh fuck yeah it is come on now incorrect Tim
Starting point is 00:12:57 incorrect Mike it's a good bad movie incorrect I haven't seen it good answer I couldn't tell you could not tell you never look back
Starting point is 00:13:11 ever question number five Pacman bites off his creator's hand it's awesome wow oh that sucks doesn't it grow back No.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Oh, that's a bummer. Question number five. Visionary Hong Kong action director, John Wu, entered the video game space with this 2007 title that featured a sequence to his classic, excuse me, that featured as a sequel to his classic film, Hard Boiled.
Starting point is 00:13:37 What's the name of this game? 2007 title that featured as a sequel, the classic hard. Oh, I remember. Dead or alive. Just taking the stabs in the dark. I appreciate you. That is incorrect.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Damn. Say it again. Let's try again. Visionary Hong Kong director, action director, John Wu, entered the video game space with this 2007 title that was a sequel to his classic film
Starting point is 00:14:03 Hardboiled. What's the name of the game? What is the title of the game? Man. This one's going to be annoyed when I hear it because I remember this being the thing at IGN. This was a big deal. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:14:17 The guesses, I'll give you guys 10 more seconds. Tim Gettys. It's man. That was a snow bike mic ass answer, and that is incorrect. Hey, you gotta take a shot. Greg, would you like to take a stab? I mean, no, really? Because I mean, no, no.
Starting point is 00:14:33 The answer to this question is stranglehold. Yeah. Tough one. Roger wrote that on a video. Wasn't in there. Roger made that up. Blame that on him. Question number six, buzz and answer.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Street Fighter is being adapted into another theatrical film coming out next year. The cast includes Cody Rhodes as, Gile. Jason Mammoa as Blanca and Mel Jarnson as Cammy. Who 50 cent Incorrect. Fine, fine.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Continue. Who played Cammy in the 1994 movie Street Fighter? Is Camby confirmed for the new one? I don't I miss that. We had to do an update podcast plus. Man. Greg Miller. Merrill Streep. Wow. Great guess.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Strong guess. Incorrect guess, though. I do not know. All right. The answer is Kylie Minogue. You're okay? She's a singer you. He's a singer. He's a singer.
Starting point is 00:15:58 He's a singer. He's a locomotion. That's the first ever that I know of. bonus question based off of that biodum is correct. for points on the board, 10 points. This is a fun show. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:09 For the record, I don't know who was she in Biden. Was she one of the girlfriends? Yeah, she was one of the female scientists. Oh, she was on a female scientist. Was she the one fruit at the bottom waiting to be stirred? That was the other one. It might have been her, actually. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:20 I don't know. I'll tell you right now if you're watching, you're a chameleon. Because I think I know what you look like, but I apparently don't. Well, she's a huge fan of the show. But she's not going to watch this episode. She's a huge fan of blessing.
Starting point is 00:16:29 This is semi-related. I always thought that Kylie Minogue was the woman from the Resident Evil movies, but she wasn't. Mila Jojovich. Mila Jovovich. Same amount of syllables. She was also in the Monster Hunter movie. Did I just give you a point for later?
Starting point is 00:16:42 We'll find out. Watch out. Gentlemen, buzzers down. Whiteboards out. I'm going to read this whole thing first before we start. The 2007 video game adaptation of Spider-Man 3 released on a whopping eight consoles. I will give you all 60 seconds to write down these eight consoles.
Starting point is 00:17:02 The person with the most correct wins. Your time starts now. What year again? 2007. This is what I want Roger to check me on because it's a lot of information and he could check me on. His thumbs are up.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Thanks, Roger. Let's get him a chair. It's Roger. Or little stepstool. Let's bring him a chair. It's a rocker. This is a banger of a track. Is this a Nintendo track?
Starting point is 00:17:41 No, this is, no, no. is just royalty-free. It sounds like that. Remember, we ran from Nintendo. How many did you say that? Eight. Okay, cool. Mike?
Starting point is 00:17:53 I'm ready. All right. Tim, let's start with you, actually. All right. 2007, Spider-Man 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Wii, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 3, Xbox 3, 6-0. Greg, turn it around. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Mine is PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 2, We, Xbox, Xbox, Xbox, 360, PC, DS, and PSP. I have PS2. I think Mike's written 8 down. I have PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS,
Starting point is 00:18:31 Game Boy Advance, and PC. Okay, let's circle the answers here. The answers are PlayStation 3. PlayStation 3. PlayStation 2. Got it. The Xbox 360. Got it. Windows. I assume means PC. We.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Game Boy advanced. Sorry. You were on a roll there. I thought you were going to start one. You missed that one, unfortunately. Nintendo DS and the venerable PlayStation Portable. I got seven.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Greg. Tim, how many did you get? Six. Mike? I have five, but how about a 3DS? You know what I did this?
Starting point is 00:19:10 No, that doesn't. 3DS was fantastic, Mike. Unfortunately, Greg wins that round. The points go to him. Review this for IG. I'm old. I know you get this feeling that you want to give people extra points. I do do this thing
Starting point is 00:19:21 called the tip of the hat. No points though. They're no points, but maybe or may not they come with a bonus star toward the end of the season. And so if somebody says something cool, feel free, just give them a tip of the hat. I don't do that in this episode. You know, God, we're going to tip a lot of hats because I'm just loving
Starting point is 00:19:37 Mike's energy. 50 cent. He's out there, Mike. Tiff of the hat. He's out of the hat. That's a tink of the comedy. Go ahead here, Mike. Katie G, good luck. Try to keep up with all this when he starts taking them back. Roger, come out from underneath the table and give him a little bonus star toward the end of the episode there. Which actor from hackers
Starting point is 00:19:55 appeared in the 2020-23 film adaptation of five nights at Freddy's. Michael. Matthew Lillard. Matthew Lillard is correct, Michael. Bap, B'Bah, Michael.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Tips of the hat, Michael. That's why I gave you that tip of the hat. Right there. Shaggy-Doo, everybody. Scooby-Doo is dead. Just that tip of that's too. From here on out, everyone. Correct answers are worth 20.
Starting point is 00:20:25 And I'm not asking questions to the group. These are Taylor, the questions Taylor made for each contestant. And you only have 15 seconds to answer. We will start with Michael. Oh, thank you. Mike, your respect for Greg is so strong that you think of him when you smoke weed and how you've disappointed him by doing drugs. I hate it.
Starting point is 00:20:45 To test your bond, I have to ask you. What is the name of the first Ghostbusters game ever released in 1984? What is? Yep. Ghostbusters the movie. The game. You know we're going to give it to you. You had Ghostbusters in there.
Starting point is 00:21:10 You had Ghostbusters in there. What does it say on the sheet? What is the answer to say? It just says Ghostbusters. Yeah, exactly. It just says Ghostbusters. It's not the fucking name. He just said, man.
Starting point is 00:21:20 But he said, what is Ghostbusters? But then he put a pause in it. And then to me, that means, that's a period. Well, the pause came after the movie and then he just added the game because it felt incomplete. But I don't listen to them. He showed his work. And that's what I'll say. He showed his work.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Tim. Yeah. Your love of Halo and film is well known. Name one director who has been previously associated with a canceled Halo movie. Good question. Neil Blomcamp. Neil Bloncamp is correct. Good job, Tim.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Oh, tied with Mike. That's crazy. That's crazy. That's wild blessing. What an insane thing we're doing here today. Gregory. He's ahead of him now. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Right. These are worth 20 points. You know what, Greg? Tip of the hat to you for that. I appreciate it. Yeah. Greg. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:21 You were the biggest Ghostbusters fan that I know. Thank you. You even loved Ghostbusters, the Frozen Empire. Because it was good. Even though most people rightfully believe it was bad. No. But even though it is bad. You didn't say it was bad.
Starting point is 00:22:32 It's still grossed $88 million internationally, including over $300,000 in Hungary. So tell me, Greg, in which year was Archdukech Franz Ferdinand, the presumed heir of the throne for Austria-Hungary, assassinated, sparking the parake that led to World War I? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the World War. What year did that happen? For the great question, you know. has only been these two World Wars, so it should be that, you know what I mean? You know, we're trying to get a third one out the door.
Starting point is 00:23:02 We just can't figure it out yet. I played Valiant Hearts. 1932. 1932? Yeah. For the thing that led to World War I? One. When did World War II happen, Greg?
Starting point is 00:23:24 You know? I'm not going to put you on the spot. Greg, that is incorrect. Gentlemen, you have a chance to, uh, Tim, 1917. Ooh, a great movie, but not the year we're looking for. This is multiple choice. You could have waited. But that is okay.
Starting point is 00:23:39 That is okay. I appreciate you. Michael, the multiple choice goes to you. What year was Archdub... Don't... What year was Archduke, Franz Fernand assassinated? Is it A, 2021. B, you can tell who wrote this question.
Starting point is 00:23:54 2024. C, 2010. Oh, my God. Or D, 1914. It's too close to it's Titanic. A lot of great answers there. I'm going to go with D-19. Final answer?
Starting point is 00:24:10 That is my final answer. That is the year that happened. Kevin, what is the score recap? The scores are as follows at the bottom. Team Blue with 20 points. At the middle, Team Orange with 60 points. And at the tippy top, Team Purple
Starting point is 00:24:33 with 70 points. We're very proud of you. But ladies and gentlemen, the show is not over yet. But we do want to think... What? I said anybody's game. But it is, in fact,
Starting point is 00:24:47 anybody's game. You've gotten too many tips of the hat. You're a little tipsy. But you know it's not tipsy, our wonderful sponsor. Let's hear from them. Greetings, taste buddies. Wishing you could sip the bold taste of tomorrow today.

Starting point is 00:26:27 The wild thing is, I could just sing a song right now and you would just continue. all the lyrics for that song. But you don't know that World War I happened before World War II. It's, well, no, I just don't know when World War II happened either.
Starting point is 00:26:39 You know what I just need to think about it. Anything, anything like, Let's play Critical Hit. The rules are simple, ladies and gentlemen, Critical Hit is a game about video game movie reviews. I'm going to read you,
Starting point is 00:27:00 review blurbs about a video game movie, and it's up to you to buzz in and guess the movie based on the review. Each round has three different blurbs for the game, for the same game. The earlier you guessed the game, the more points you get, excuse me, the more points you get with a max of 30 points per round. But you have only one guess per blurb. I'll read three. You want you guys. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:24 The add-on. If you get the movie right, you have the chance to guess the exact rotten tomato score of the movie for a critical hit to double your points for the round. Are you ready? Yes. Yeah. Round one. This is from heaven or horse. You have it a two out of five. But I like what I see. I just don't get the feeling I want from my survival horror movie. This is due to the story, which I know is based on a video game,
Starting point is 00:27:52 but I need to care more about these characters. No, like Mike. Resident Evil, too. A good guess. Incorrect. Greg. Until dawn. It's correct.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Thank you. Wow. Yeah, that's him. That's how you're going to guess. Now, can you guess the tomato square? the rotten tomato score. Can you, I'm unfamiliar with rotten tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:28:15 So am I, is it like metacritic where it's gonna be like a 67 or something like that? Okay, cool. For until dawn, we'll give it a hot, 54.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Oh, so close. It was 52. Okay. That's wild. Blessing just made an audible gasp and now I'm wondering if I need to give you points for that.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Blessing, can I get a way in on that? He says yes. He said, yeah. He said, yeah. He got very, close to that but but producer roger said specifically i have to do the exact
Starting point is 00:28:46 score for that no it has to be the exact score that said he guessed it on the first blur which means he does get a hefty 30 points for hey there you go could have been 60 could have been 60 you don't know your history
Starting point is 00:28:57 round two i don't know history fucking until bond met a creek Tim is locked in Mike is wondering what his next meal will be and Greg is just really pissed off about that World War one
Starting point is 00:29:09 World War two question from the independent gave it a two out of of five. Some of the set pieces chases through the airport fights on a train track, car chases, or helicopter hurling into we just buzzed. Tim. Uncharted.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Incorrect. Can you start from the top, please? Some of the set pieces, chases to the airport, fights on train tracks, car crashes, or helicopter hurling into the skyscrapers are very nifty choreographed, but you can't help thinking this would be more fun as an interactive game. All right.
Starting point is 00:29:46 I get a shot. You do get a shot. Need for speed? Incorrect. Michael, you want to take a stab at this? Yeah, I'll take a lock, in on this. You know, hurling cars through skyscrapers. That's exciting.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Train tracks, those are cool. Yeah. Yep. This is giving vibes of Tomb Raider, but the new one. A good guess. Incorrect. Moving on to blurb number two. From the Toronto Star.
Starting point is 00:30:16 gave it a 1.5 out of four and said, who's human and who's not consumes much of the running time of this rot action film, which vainly attempts to revive a forgotten video game spinoff starring Timothy Olafan.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Mr. Greg Miller. Hitman. Hitman. Oh, blood money. The first assassin. Bald guy. So close. Hitman does cry. So close.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Tim Gettys. Hitman, Agent 47. Is what we were looking for there, Tim. Great job. Great job. I'll remember that. Now, Tim, of course, for a chance to double those points you just got, can you guess the Rotten Tomato score?
Starting point is 00:31:02 52. A good number. And really would have helped Greg out in the last round. It would have. That is incorrect. The Rotten Tomato score was, in fact, a whopping eight. It was terrible. It was that bad?
Starting point is 00:31:15 Apparently. Wowsers. Yeah, remember this was they made the one with Timothy Oliphant first, and then that was so bad they were like we got to get another stab at this so they recast a different actor and it was pretty atrocious the horror i had when we were watching alien earth and timothy olympin's name came up at the end and jen said who was he in this and i was like wait a man he was the guy with silver hair he's awesome she's like oh my god hitman was in this i'm like how do you only know him as hitman how is that the fucking pole you're making right now he likes to fly under the radar just like me yeah
Starting point is 00:31:49 You're very quiet. Round three. Time out gave this a three out of five and said, if you're not a franchise devotee, imagine watching who framed Roger Rabbit after a PCP binge, and you'll get the idea. Any guesses. You don't have to raise your hand, Mike.
Starting point is 00:32:11 You can buzz in. He's putting it off together. I'm going to say borderlands. Incorrect. If you're not a franchise devotee, imagine watching who framed Roger Rabbit after a PCP binge and you'll get the idea.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Pixels? Incorrect. Looney Tunes the movie starring Brendan Fraser. Wow. A great film. A great film. Not the answer we're looking for. Moving on to blurb. Number two. This comes from the Independent. Give it a three out of five stars as well. Damn, this isn't a bad of a movie.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Keep that in mind. Fans might get what they want out of this, but who else is the film trying to please? It's hard to tell. outside of one very important demographic that is generously catered to people who think the main character is absolutely adorable and don't care what happens in the film.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Minecraft. No. The main Jack Black adorable. Tim Geddes. Pokemon Detective Pikachu. Oh, that's a good poll. Pokemon Detective Pikachu is correct. Good year is adorable.
Starting point is 00:33:24 He is very adorable. And with Ryan Reynolds' voice, made more adorable. Yeah. lovable. Rotten tomato score? Rotten tomato score. Hit me with you.
Starting point is 00:33:33 it go with the sweet 69 so close it was a 68 on tomatoes half one yeah I liked it more than 60 I mean only sat in theaters once but I enjoyed myself yeah that's before I was a Pokemon fan the final question it's the final question round four three movie buffs gave this two and a half out of four stars saying quote just your basic aliens rip off with the name of a formally popular video game franchise kicked on. Tim Gettys. Doom. Mike, I'm so disappointed with you.
Starting point is 00:34:12 I fucking jam that button. I'm so disappointed with you. You were praying to God, but Tim took it right out from underneath you. It is, in fact, Doom. Now, Tim, if you'd like, what is the Rotten Tomato score? 47. 47 is so generous. So generous.
Starting point is 00:34:26 It is a solid 18. Oh, yeah. Let's get a score of recap. Not great for Team Blue. They are at the bottom with 50. Then Team Purple and right in the middle where they fit best with 70. Team Orange taking it with 130. But it's still anybody's game?
Starting point is 00:34:55 I don't believe it's anyone's game anymore. Hell yeah. I believe Tim was. Who knows? There's so much chaos. But maybe it's like it's a whole other game. This one flew by. I wish we had another round.
Starting point is 00:35:05 We do have some really good highbreaker questions, but I don't think we need them, ladies gentlemen. That's it for this episode of Game Showdown, your nerdy trivia show. We'll be back next week with another, but until next time, Roger just gave me this. Because it's mine. And I'm going to slide it to you right now, Tim. I appreciate that. I'm sorry, Greg.
Starting point is 00:35:22 I don't want to be dangerous. Can you just put your hands on that and slide it over to Tim? Thank you. You got to bring up the Star Trek. Star Treker. Before I give you the star, Tim, let's catch up with the season with the Star Trek. I'm like Ron Burgundy Yeah
Starting point is 00:35:36 If it's not on the page I don't read it Mm-hmm Give me a second one I figure out how to fix this number But uh Ooh is Andy's Tim score I guess Yeah I can iterate this So coming into this episode
Starting point is 00:35:48 Of course Greg with Team Blue Came in with one star After having one taken away For no reason Team Purple and Team Orange Came into this episode With two stars each Because of Team Orange's victory today
Starting point is 00:35:59 Congratulations Tim They have gone up By one star Bringing them to three Feels good And now Team Orange is in the lead so far for the season, but we'll see if they can keep up with this next week.
Starting point is 00:36:10 I can't believe I won this episode. I was sure that somehow there was going to be some fuckery. But it feels good. Oh, that's in my space. Scrolling back up. This has been Game Showdown, the nerdy trivia occasion. We'll be back next week with another episode,
Starting point is 00:36:30 but until next time, it's been our pleasure to serve you.
