Starting point is 00:00:07 What's up and welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Thursday, July 31st, 2025. Of course, I'm your host, Tim Geddes. I'm joined today by Blessing at E.O Ye Jr. Good day, Tim. Greg Miller. Hello. And Andy Cortez. Hello.

That's the type of thing we do here at the kind of funny games cast. Starting point is 00:01:26 Fantastic 4 in review is rolling on. Last week we did Fantastic 4. First Steps, the latest in the MCU. And today we dropped Fantastic 4. from 2005 with Jessica Alba and Chris Evans. You will be stunned. You will be stunned at the results. Stunned, everybody.
Starting point is 00:01:46 This is one of those upset moments in kind of funny history. This is one of those that gets written down in the Wikipedia of notable events. By controversy? Yeah. Yes, exactly. It's definitely an episode of an interview that you don't want to miss for a ton of reasons. It was like one of the best episodes I think we've ever done to this show. one of those rare like, oh, we're all,
Starting point is 00:02:07 we're all feeling something right now. Some of us more than others. I'm not going to say names, but I think you know who I'm talking about. I just love hanging out with my friends. I don't know why I got to be single about all the time. Remember the question you asked about Nick? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Never forget. It was funny because I had the thing where I was like, oh man, I haven't heard a lot about, I usually get so much feedback. And I was like, I'll rise not up yet. It was free record.
Starting point is 00:02:28 And now I haven't been able to look at anything because we've been staying off everything for this year, Nintendo Direct. Yeah, so everybody, uh, Greg asked me, question about Nick that I don't want to spoil here. You won't believe your ears. You will not believe.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Now, you act like it came out of left field. No. Nick started the whole guy. Obviously, it's always Nick's fault to begin. Yeah. Okay. But man. After this, we're doing kind of funny games daily. It's going to cover Monster Hunter Wild's soft sales. Then Mike's going to be streaming Battlefield 6.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Exclusively on Twitch. He's down at the event right now. So get your first look at Mike playing some battlefield. Hell yeah. Very exciting. Hell yeah. If you're a kind of funny member, today's Greg Way is talking about if you can separate the art from the artist. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Somm twining. Today we're brought to you by mood, factor, and the kind of funny survey.
Starting point is 00:03:18 But we also have one thing that we need to deal with before we get into the Nintendo Direct. Boys, I have something I need to show you. Hello, kind of funny best friends. This is Mike and Roger, and we got to get real about Kind of Funny. July 28th, two consenting adults entered into a partnership. Snowbike Mike Howard and Roger Percorney were trying to trade video games on their fantasy critic league. And we were stopped by our crooked commissioner, blessing Adi Yoye Jr.
Starting point is 00:03:51 This dirty commissioner tried to hold us back from what would be a totally fair and reasonable trade. I, Roger Percorni, wanted to give Snowbike Mike Ninja Guidant 4 in return for his video game, Crimson Dawn. It's not even on. It's not even crimson. This trade was deemed totally fair and legal by a majority of votes within the fantasy critic drafts. You like this sounds like a fair trade. Yes, I'm okay with that. Andy approved in the chat.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Traits should be enabled. You should enable the trades and let them trade. Hey, Raj. It's me, Barrett. After much consideration. What the fuck? And, uh... That's not my voice.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Don't ignore this. Good night's rest. I've decided to vote yes. No. No. Don't believe that blessing. met by the end of the week, there will be hell to pay a kind of funny.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Yes, that's right. Everything Blessing at the Oe A. Jr. Loves and cherishes on his desk will be gone. That means no Dragon Ball Z figures. That means no shirtless Miles Morales toys. And that means no Sonic plushies. They're all going in the fucking trash. Now, you may be saying to yourself,
Starting point is 00:04:55 Mike and Roger, a clean desk is not really that awful of a situation to be in. No, it gets worse. Because if Blessing out of Yoia Jr., does not adhere to our demands. I promise to God that we will feel it in his throat. Blessing Eddie O'Yea, Jr.
Starting point is 00:05:16 You have until the end of this week to make this trade. This has been sponsored by the Snowbike Mike and Roger Percorney, Partnership 2025. When did they even have time to make this? Like, I've seen the schedule. I did not see them coming to the studio together to do. Also, was that my actual plushity
Starting point is 00:05:35 that I was holding to the dumpster? Oh, yeah. When did that happen? Don't leave early. Why leaving early? I leave it like 3.30. So obviously, blessed a lot for you to consider,
Starting point is 00:05:47 a lot to, no, there's nothing for me to consider. I've said this repeatedly. It is out of my hands. I just need a yes vote from every single person. You got it. You got them right there. I mean, if that was,
Starting point is 00:05:58 that wasn't even my voice. It sounded like a hack of a voice actor who can't even try to do another voice, you know? I mean, everybody said yes. I mean, if everybody says yes, then I'll make it happen. said yes, you just saw it. I mean, it sounds like Barry didn't say yes, though. This is just how Bear likes to be, though. He likes to play both sides of the fence.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Can we run it back? It sounded just like Bear. Yeah. I've also seen. I'm not sure that looks like. Also, I'm not a fucking fence. If anything we know about me. I've also seen a lot of confusion because, yes, on KGB, when they first brought this to our attention, I approved of the trade. But that was before it was made, I was made aware of the fact that by the settings set at the beginning of the season, trades are not allowed. That is out of my hands. Listen, we decided on these. rules. I decided on these rules at the beginning of the year. And so I'm not just going to go and break the rules for two players that want to just break the rules. That's not what it's about. If I do that and something goes wrong
Starting point is 00:06:49 because there are obvious shenanigans going on here. I don't know what the shenanigans are, but there are shenanigans going on here. There are two consenting adults. If shit goes south, yes. Unanimously backed by consenting adults. If shit goes wrong, it comes back on me. And so that's why you need a yes from everybody, including Barrett. Didn't Crimson Dawn. Everybody said yes.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Nope. I don't like it. Bear, what did they promise you to get you to say yes on that voicemont? Absolutely nothing. Huh. I mean, it just, it sounds, it wasn't even a voicemail.
Starting point is 00:07:15 He called me while I was on vacation, took time away from my family that I hadn't seen in 12 years. It sounds like you called him back, though. Yeah, the voicemont. When you called it, we just heard to let him know.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I was kind of shocked to hear that, that Barrett approved of it there. It's great to see him do the right thing because he's standing the way of the content. He's standing the way of the league. Yeah. Progress. A lot would say. Because I don't trust Roger and Mike.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Wow. Wow. Wow. Now the truth's out there. Just wants to get rid of crew is in dawn. This video should be about Barrett. The Blim should be to Barrett now. Oh, we're shifting to Barrett now.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Yeah. I mean, that's totally fine. Listen, Barrow and I stand by that. I've approved. I've approved. I've approved. When they said it was a fair and legal trade, that already started ringing the alarm bells. That's because Mike just does not know how to sell anything to save.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Well, it was Roger who said that. And also, Mike, it wasn't great at selling it either. I don't trust them. I think they're up to something. We already heard him say yes. Everybody said yes. I heard Andy Corte. Or Cortez says.
Starting point is 00:08:09 say yes. We'll figure this out. We'll get to the bottom of this. Somehow, some way. Topic of the show time. Nintendo Direct, partner showcase. It just happened. Wow. We saw it. 27 minutes. Wow. We saw it. I want to get y'all's opinion on this.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Andy, let's start with you. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit of a stinker. Not even some third party games that I would have cared to see. Even if you throw Eldon Ring in the mix, I would have been like,
Starting point is 00:08:45 oh, wow, this gets to be excited. Even that's something we've known for a long time, and we've seen it already. And I, aside from this, you know, the legend of Elliot or whatever the hell, the very, very... That's it. As you nailed it. Really? Yeah. Wow. The Adventures of
Starting point is 00:09:01 Elliot, the Millennium Tales. There's no legend yet. He's just on an adventure. This is his first one. We haven't put him in history yet. Aside from that little surprise, you know, not much else to be excited about, for me at least, for my tastes and, and with what I care about.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Surprise that Kronos New Dawn is going to be there. I think that was, that was still a surprise for me, but I think there's just been like, you know, nothing from Xbox, no notable kind of big announcements. I just don't, I don't see why you do one like this right now. Those dev kids, you know. Got them out there. They got them out there too late. Xbox has got them yesterday. Damn Dev kids. They just started cooking. I put a score on it.
Starting point is 00:09:44 I give it like a five or something like that. You know? Yeah. You're gonna get meaner with the scores. That didn't sound like a five. Get me. That sounded like a three point five. Well, I mean, Elliot brought it up to a five.
Starting point is 00:09:55 That's fair. Okay, I'll accept it. There's about a three before that. I'll accept it. Mediocre. Because the amount of times I've seen that square art style and go, ah, but it's never the genre I want. It's never, it's always a turn base that I'm not super into.
Starting point is 00:10:07 But finally, it's one of these amazing arts. these 2.5 HD or whatever you want to call it. Awesome looking art styles in a real-time action RPG. Awesome. I'm in.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Greg. Hello, Timothy. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Good. I enjoyed hanging out with you guys. It did not deliver on Moonlight or 2,
Starting point is 00:10:26 which of course I really wanted. When I gave the call of like seven minutes left and we all went, uh-oh, that's not good. Oh shit. Blah, blah, blah, blah. I was along for the ride there of like, yeah, this is fucking rough.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Can they put anything at the end that would make it more enjoyable or notable. I think, you know, this is the classic, this could have been an email thing. And I hate doing that because every presentation could have been an email, whatever, blah, blah. Ending there with that Elliott game, of course, bringing, like we're talking about an action RPG to that HD2D style that we all
Starting point is 00:10:55 love so much. Fuck yeah. And then again, even though we've done a podcast in this month of me being like, I got to stop trying to make turn-based RPGs work for me. I did love Octopath 1. I did love Octopath 2. So I'm excited for an Octopath 0, making a character, building a town, that's all awesome.
Starting point is 00:11:11 The excitement of it coming this year, that's great in December. Oh, awesome, cool. A good holiday break game there. But yeah, overall, I'm right there with Andy. I think this is probably a five, a mediocre. Maybe those last two bring it up to a five, five, getting us closer to that okay. But overall, like, not a lot to get super hyped about here. We were missing.
Starting point is 00:11:29 I think a few tent pulls in there. Again, even to come out and have high rule warriors, but not give you a date. Yeah. That's a weird choice, like to do that and not have something new to say. there other than promoting it. Yeah, we're going to go through it. I know game by game. So there's excitement in there with Katamari.
Starting point is 00:11:45 You know, Monster Hunter story is not my game, even though I've played them and appreciate them. But I know people will be stoked for that. But then a middle section where you're kind of like, all right, all right, right. Bless. Yeah, this is a tough one to, I think, talk about as far as scoring and critiquing
Starting point is 00:12:01 just because going into this at the beginning of our reaction, I mentioned I was me, right? I was like, okay, sorry to my excitement for this. I'm like, yeah. And that's mainly because they announced. it as a partner showcase. And I think it'd be easy for me to take my, what I want as far as an actual Nintendo direct telling me when I'm going to get Metro Prime and when I'm going to get all these Nintendo First Party, Kirby Air Riders and the Nintendo First Party games they were waiting
Starting point is 00:12:23 for. And like, there's a little bit of me that's like, man, I wish that was that. But it's not that, right? This is a Nintendo partner showcase. And so what do we expect here? We expect third party announcements. We expect them, you know, doing whatever deals, whatever like marketing obligations that they have to talk about the games that they're getting on their platform, those get done here. And so going into this, or coming out of this, I feel the same that I felt going into this.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Where I'm kind of like, yeah, it is, I guess, it could have been an email thing, but also, this wasn't a bad presentation by any means. Like, there wasn't any parts of this where I was like, fuck, we're wasting time or, man, this is a, this game looks terrible. Or whatever. Spending 12 minutes on this thing. Yeah, like, it was a well put together thing, right? And like, all these games look fine to good,
Starting point is 00:13:07 to great to exciting. I'm with you guys and I'm also excited for Elliot and also like the Octopath Traveler Zero looks really cool. Elliot, I think I'm really excited for for the fact that I really love the 2D HD art style and I'm somebody who played Live Alive and absolutely adored Live alive but most of the time when I hop into like an Octopath or some of the other 2D HD games,
Starting point is 00:13:26 it can be hit or miss on if I'm in the mood for a turn-based RPG. Sure. And this being real time like action combat is really exciting for me because I fuck with those types of games. And so seeing this art style, that kind of combat and like seeing the puzzle-solvey stuff of you have your fairy and you can move it around and then teleport to it to navigate around. I think there's so much promising shit coming out of that. But I look at the rest of these announcements and I'm like, oh, cool.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Like, Kronos and the new Don is coming to switch. Oh, dope. Chilling by fire looks neat. Persona 3 reload. That's exciting for the people that haven't played it, right? I think this did a great job of filling out the fall as far as what that third party slate looks like. We still have questions. Where's Hades 2? Where's Alden Ring? All that stuff. But overall, I'm not mad at it, even though I'm not like excited by this whatsoever. So I think I'm right there with you guys as far as a five. Oh yeah. Timothy? This is a major disappointment for me.
Starting point is 00:14:15 More as what I truly believe Nintendo needs. And I say that obviously as a huge Nintendo fan, but also as somebody that wants there to be more Nintendo fans and wants people that would never look at the Nintendo Switch. I want them to look at the Switch too, because I want the Switch 2 to find that success and to be able to get more opportunities to have great games coming to it, whether it's third party or first party.
Starting point is 00:14:40 We knew we weren't going to get the first party stuff from this unless it was partnership collaboration, things like Hyro Warriors there. But even then, like, before we reacted, I was saying all the things that I was expecting to be here. And I knew we weren't going to get all of them. I don't think we got a single one of them. We actually, we didn't get a single one of them. Well, you called out Zelda.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yeah, but we need a release date. This is stupid. Like, we know too much about this game to not have a release date at this point. And like I stand on that. Like seeing it's cool, the game looks great. I'm very, very excited for it. But that is not enough for this. And I feel like there's so many questions that we need answered.
Starting point is 00:15:18 And I can't believe that for how many years we predicted Switch 2 stuff and heard rumors about Switch 2 and how delayed the Switch 2's release actually felt and everything that we've heard of like it could have been earlier. I look at this and I'm like, could it have? I don't think so. Like this, I'm surprised beyond belief that we're not getting Xbox announcements. There's no Forsa. Are you surprised? Because I feel like that's one of the things that ruins this for me is that we talk about news every single day. And we know what's up when it comes to this shit, right?
Starting point is 00:15:50 So like, when we talk about Xbox announcements at this thing, I'm like, there's no way we're getting Xbox. But see what you think, I know that. But I'm surprised that that's the reality we're in. Like I'm talking about thinking from a year ago of where Nintendo should be right now with their Switch 2 with this new console. This is unacceptable. Like this is not they I've been saying forever like this is their chance to for the first time since the Super Nintendo be a place people want to play or can play third party games and they're not proven that like I think that that is not good for the health and viability of the switch to to soar the way that it can and we can get there over time. But for this to be the first partner showcase, that's a bummer man. Like I feel like there's so much.
Starting point is 00:16:32 And again, it's not like I'm expecting the. world from things. I'm expecting release dates for shit coming this year that they've already announced, right? Like Final Fantasy 7 remake. How is that not here? Having said all that, it's like, there's good games here. And I think that legitimately, Octopath Traveler Zero coming this year, that's fantastic.
Starting point is 00:16:50 That team just is pumping out modern classics in the JRP space. And I would not have expected that, let alone it be this soon. So that's a major win. Elliot looks awesome. A different genre for that art style, I think, is going to go a long way. It does bum me out that Final Fantasy tactics isn't in that art style. Like you look at tactics. Sure.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Yeah. You look at those finals of games and you're like, ah, we could have had it. It's so good. I'm hyped for the dumb little things like Pac-Man world. But like those are the should be like secret delights of a partner showcase one month into this new console's launch, not one of my favorite things that I saw. Yes. Yeah, it's rough for me because I think that overall, like when I get that it's a partner showcase, we've had great partner showcases. And I think that the first one out the gate should be better than this.
Starting point is 00:17:38 I don't think that my expectations are out of whack, again, because there are things that I need to know that I still don't know. So score, I don't know. I feel like in terms of time and place, it's a three bad. But because of Octopath and stuff, that does bring it up for me quite a bit. And I'd probably end at a 5.5. I struggle to call this okay But I do think that I want to give them the credit for having genuine surprises of a big third-party title that is Going to be consequential in the conversation so you're so right about the Pac-man point
Starting point is 00:18:17 That there have been so many showcases and You know any one of these presentations that we watch where We come away with at least three to four holy shit type stuff and the Pac-man You know Adventure whatever that the hell the game is, is like, oh, plus they also had this, which was really surprising. That's really, really neat. Plants versus zombies, re-planted or whatever.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Wow, what a cool surprise. Not only do we have all these awesome things, but in these other secret delights. Yeah, yeah. And this one's missing tent pole. Yeah, there are no tent pulls. And to have these be the ones that we sort of focus on as the major wins is a real big bummer, especially from, you know, a presentation like this. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:21:38 five minutes to complete. Oh, and all of your answers will be completely anonymous, and we want you to be as honest as possible. Head over to kindofunny.com slash survey to participate. Thanks. Let's go game by game. Weh-hoo. Starting off with Monster Hunter Stories 3 Twisted Reflection, coming to switch to 2026. What do we think? Good. Again, I've played one and two casually, briefly, never sunk any real amount of time into them. But enough to me like, oh, this is a really quality turn-based RPG. I love that you're doing something different with Monster Hunter. Obviously, as a person who loves Monster Hunter Wilds, Monster Hunter now, Monster Hunter, Freedom, you name it. Those games are
Starting point is 00:22:23 usually so light on story to get one that is like, no, no, we're going to commit and give you this anime-esque tale of what's going on and what's going with the monsters and this and it's a nice change of pace and it's cool to see them expand out the franchise and I know it's got a bunch of fans especially on the switch so I think this is a great opening of dropping this in there and be like hey you probably thought this might happen it's actually happening now so why not are these games normally uh multi-plot uh so correct me if I'm wrong chat I believe both one and two started as exclusives to switch and then got ported everywhere else but I'm not a thousand percent correct, sure on that.
Starting point is 00:22:59 But I think that is how it went. Less. About Monster Hunter? You jumping into this one? No. No. After trying to hop into Monster Hunter Wilds. That was the last,
Starting point is 00:23:12 my last shot. Well, here's the thing, though, and I mean, I'm not trying to sell you on it. But I mean, it's not that kind of game. Right? Try to jump into Monster Hunter and be like, what the fuck? I'm dual blades, this is a story, right? This is a JRP.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Yeah, and I'm just not, I'm also not bought into the world in a big way. Like, if somebody came to me and was like, yo, the Monster Hunter, story and lore, you gotta get into this shit. Then I'd be like, okay, maybe I, maybe I check it out. I will say this looks cool. I mentioned during the thing.
Starting point is 00:23:36 The art style reminds me of Tales of Arise, which is another game that I, which I had more time to like check out and play. It looks cool, but yeah, it's not really my jam. For sure, yeah, and especially for a third one, I think they're playing to a very specific audience for what they want out of that, which is great. It does look good though. A hundred percent. The quality of it, it's like, all right, cool.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Good, good for you. You guys are working with at least some type of technology on the switch, too. Yeah, super sharp art style. and this is one that I might give a shot if there weren't a lot of other things I was already interested in. Then I said once upon a Catamari coming to Nintendo Switch 1 on October 24th,
Starting point is 00:24:09 2025. I am not a Catamari guy. You all seem so hyped on this though. Greg, tell me why. I love Catamari. Catamari, of course, for me such a PlayStation 2 point in time that, you know what I mean? For me jumping in and really discovering
Starting point is 00:24:27 how wide the video games, game world is and how many goofy-ass things you can have going on there. What I get excited for is that it's a new one, right? I think we've talked so many times about Catamari's come back and done this and it's a collection and it's on the iPhone. It's whatever. I want a new Catamari. And to get that here, to have competitive modes, just to have it be goofy and fun I'm all about. So yeah, I'm excited to see this. There's a bunch of stuff going on in the press release that's interesting, right? The first new entry in Catamari Domesi series in 14 years, right? To help the prince protect the things, players most role.
Starting point is 00:24:59 of Catamari, of course, collecting items as they go. It's coming October 24th to PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch in standard and deluxe editions. As an added bonus, players who have saved data from either Catamari-Demasi re-roll or we love Katamari re-roll plus Royal Revere can unlock a playable Young King once the game launches. So they're doing a bunch to reward the fans who have been there for a long time. But customizing the character, having a party mode in there, let alone just the let's roll around
Starting point is 00:25:27 and pick things up and get bigger and bigger as we try to help. the King of the Cosmos. Fuck yeah. It's a goofy game, Tim. For goofy people. Did you ever, you never played it? I rented it from Blockbuster once and I just didn't vibe with it.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I think the music's fun and quirky, but it's like, it's just not my type of thing. See, I know looking at you're like, this could be a tip thing. It's not though. It's not.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Like I, and am I wrong? I mean, I've not played enough of it to even tell you. I think it's just somebody thing with me on. Yeah. Yeah, because I played it a little bit on PlayStation Vita,
Starting point is 00:25:58 like funny enough. Like, that was the only version of, Catamori that I really played. Yeah. And like, even then, I, I like it so much conceptually, and I like the energy of it, I think more than I actually like playing it. Like, I love that it exists, but like, will I pick this one up playing to all that shit?
Starting point is 00:26:13 Who knows? Maybe not. Probably not. If I'm being real. It's just that if it doesn't sound interesting you, Tim, to finally get your ball big enough to pick up a pencil. You know what I mean? Like, there's always that thing when you walk up to an item and you roll into,
Starting point is 00:26:24 am I, have I made the ball big enough? And I, you pick it up, like, yes. it like unlocks a whole new area of things you can then on a pickup that you've seen you roll more out like that's the goofiness of it I can see you enjoying a demo of it I think honestly it'll be a great stream if we get the stream team together
Starting point is 00:26:40 and we do like hey all four of us we should play this that sounds like a lot of fun it sounds like just a funny parlance man if you can't get your ball being that's a picket you can't be if that doesn't sound interesting if that doesn't sound fun which I totally understand yeah not gonna be for you
Starting point is 00:26:52 uh the next up we had just dance 2026 edition coming October 14th to the Nintendo Switch 1. Tried and true. Has to be here. Co-op party mode? Is that new,
Starting point is 00:27:03 bless? I could not tell you. They advertised it, which made me think, that's why I jotted it down there as a new thing for you. I can hit up the press release, though,
Starting point is 00:27:12 I'll let you know. And then Dragon Ball Sparking Zero coming to Switch 1 and 2 November 14th. This is great. This is the type of shit that I want to see the complaints I was having. I want to see the ports of the third party games. I want the support of the Switch 2
Starting point is 00:27:24 and for people to know what to play. they can play third party games. And this was a great one last year. So I'm sure that there's going to be a big audience of people that didn't have access to this before that now do because of Nintendo. I think there's a great inclusion for the Switch 2 library. And it seems the big feature that they're adding here is the motion control stuff, which for people who are fans of the series, right? Like that's a good throwback to like what they did with the Wii because they also have the motion control stuff on the Wii. And that as far as I understand and remember something that people really vibed with, right?
Starting point is 00:27:53 Of like, all right, charge up the Kamiamiami Hab. I do in the Kamiami Hami Hama Pose. like people, the people who play DBZ, they want to like embody the character, you know what I mean? It's in the same way where, Greg, if you're playing a Switch wrestling game and if you wanted to do like the -color and elbow.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Yeah, like, they're like, oh, do like the John Cena motion to do the attitude adjustment or to make the move more powerful, right? Like that sounds kind of fun. Like that sounds kind of dope and so I love that shit. I hope they implemented well. That's why I went out to a game stop way back in the day to buy the PlayStation move controls because I just had to play a golf game with the PlayStation
Starting point is 00:28:26 movie. I needed it. Had to do it. Had it to do it. How did it feel? Yeah, how to feel, feel good. I felt great. Yeah, immediately like stop using him.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Yeah, that happened. It wasn't a good investment. Then we got plants. Then you were all about it again. Of course. Yeah. Plants versus zombies replanted. Coming to switch one and two, local co-op and versus modes.
Starting point is 00:28:43 October 23rd, Brandon Bishop, super chats in saying, yes, I will be purchasing plants versus zombies for the seventh time. I will not be taking questions. That's the, you know, for a game that is as good as this, that is totally acceptable. I think, you know, the domination of what the late OOs before we turn to the 2010s and how Plants versus Zombies became such a fucking thing. You talk about, again, what the App Store was for games back then to get a quote unquote real game that then got ported everywhere. Of course, EA buying Pop Cap at some point in there to then have this license and have all this stuff. It's cool to see it back and be simple.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Garden Warfare was Garden Warfare. It wasn't what I wanted. Yeah, yeah. But they also did a bunch of plants versus zombie. do we need more plans versus zombie. Here you go. It's nice that they're doing more with it. Obviously, HD, whatever, but like adding in this local co-op, this local, this PVPE.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Awesome. Cool. You're doing something more with it. It'll be fun to go in there and kick the tires on it. This is a hell yeah, right? Amazing game. Looks like it should for a remaster like this, the new mode. It's like this seems like the right level of loving care for these games.
Starting point is 00:29:47 And I'm happy that we're still talking about them. So, yeah. Good for them. Tim, there's a part of me that just has been hung up on some news you gave me yesterday during our ragebound review. Is that on Switch it's locked to 30? And which is just weird off the rip, right? Usually you may want to leave that unlocked so that when the Switch 2 version plays it,
Starting point is 00:30:15 it can just like use horsepower to get all the way there. Um, that's still just so shocking to me. And in a way that when we see the Monster Hunter game at the beginning of this showcase look the way it does. And then maybe Dragon Ball Z a little bit less so. Um, I'm just still so shocked that we're kind of experiencing that and, and I just, that was the thing I felt like I experienced a little bit at the, when we went to the Nintendo preview, um, me and Tim with New York and Roger, right? Where I went, I played, um, cyberpunk 2077 and it looked way better than,
Starting point is 00:30:50 than I ever would have thought on the Switch 2 where I'm like, the frame rate might not have been there all the way, but... I think it's locked at 30, but still... Yeah, but still visually, I'm like, oh, shit, I would play this game this way. Like, this genuinely feels like a great way to play the game. And then I went over, I played Street Fighter,
Starting point is 00:31:04 and I was like, oh, I would have thought Street Fighter would look better than this. Like, I don't know what's up with that as far as maybe it is. Like, hey, it's on the developers to optimize and figure out how to get the most juice out of the machine kind of thing. The machine. How the fuck does Raybound not run at 60? Like, even on the Switch on.
Starting point is 00:31:19 I don't know, that's crazy. is crazy, everybody. God. Yeah, I mean, honestly, I don't mean to come off like such a hater. I just am legitimately disappointed after looking forward to the Switch 2 for so long and for what's going to do. And so far, I, when it counts, the Nintendo games, like, they've
Starting point is 00:31:34 delivered for me, but when we were in New York and we saw that the direct and all the letters and numbers they're talking about of HDR and 4K, 120 frames per second, it's like, oh shit. And then to already be here, it's like, oh, man.
Starting point is 00:31:50 And it, again, like, to bless this point, it's like, it is optimization. And when the devs do optimize, the results show. Like, it does work. It is possible. But I am, I'm a little concerned at how many letdowns there have been in the one, in the first month of this console. So. Do you think that matters, though, outside of this room and the people listening?
Starting point is 00:32:15 And even to the people listening. I mean, I think, I think over time, yes, because I think it sways the conversation. If everyone's just saying Ah, the Switch 2 is just like the Switch 1 It's not the right place to play these games And if that's the tenor of the overall Conversation, every time a game comes out That's the lens that's going to be looked at
Starting point is 00:32:31 Every time something's announced It's going to be looked at as like a I don't want to play it there. But do you think that that matters As much in the grand scheme of Nintendo and Switch Right? Like we say this for the Switch 1 Of people buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games I went into the Switch 2 with that mentality as well
Starting point is 00:32:47 Right? It's cool that we're seeing Eldon Ring and Persona 3 reload in these other games, but I don't see them being anywhere close to the main event of this thing. I mean, yes. And I also don't think that's going to keep it from being maybe one of the best selling consoles again. I mean, I'm right there with you, with everything you said, I expected more. I expected this to change that. And I think that they had an opportunity to do that. Why did they not put more advocates out there?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Why? Like, I understand the facts that they didn't, but why? It makes no sense to me. And I feel like it can't be understated. They had to stop all the leaks. Well, cool. Here we are now. You know, it's like, this is like not the right.
Starting point is 00:33:19 It wasn't worth it. It simply wasn't worth it. Like I firmly stand on the fact that there are, there's a giant contingent of Nintendo gamers that just play Nintendo, just buy a Nintendo Switch. They don't buy other systems. They want to play Final Fantasy. They want to play these third-party games. And they will. They will buy them.
Starting point is 00:33:37 And I just feel like that statement and message should be supported by Nintendo early on in this thing. And I do still think they'll get there. I do still think that next year we'll start seeing these showcases and there will will be a lot more third party games that are at announce it's multi-pl planets everywhere. I just think we should be there now and it's disappointed to me that
Starting point is 00:33:57 we're not. Went for a little night rain announcement. Yeah. But you wouldn't... Oh, night rain for Switch? Yeah, 30 frames per second. You've got to get Eldon ring out. You got to get to what's the dustblood, right? I don't think you want to step on those with it. Yeah. I do think, Tim, it's not as dark as it may seem to you right now. I'm fucking... I forgot the demo.
Starting point is 00:34:13 I got my demo. I got my demo. I'm ready to dive into this guy with his little red hat. What's going on? I'm so bummed out that I don't bring my switch like Greg does because I told Ben today as we were walking out on we're taking the switch. You don't get Pokemon this afternoon, sir. You got to come with me. You stay in your room. The one thing I'm really interested in as far as a talking point, right, is like the amount of people that have just a switch to that want to play third party games that might not and probably don't have other consoles. What demographic of people do you think that is? Or how many of those people are out there?
Starting point is 00:34:42 I think a lot. A lot. But like in my mind, this is me just projecting, right? like I would assume most of those people are kids or most of those people are a younger audience. I would be surprised for like, if you're a gamer adult, if you care about video games and like you're in this shit
Starting point is 00:34:55 and you just own a switch, I would ask why do you just own a switch? I think that I mean. And not on like a you can't afford it kind of thing because I understand that. But more so like why didn't you buy a Steam deck or why didn't you buy a PlayStation instead of a switch or something? I think of the, honestly,
Starting point is 00:35:09 I think of the recipes to a real one, the Edeca audience. Exactly. Hardcore Nintendo lifers that go nowhere else. This is where they exist. I think of one of our friends that we've collaborated in the past Shofu where it's like that's where they live and that's where they exist.
Starting point is 00:35:28 There's a culture. The Nintendo YouTube culture is different than other video game ecosystems. And I think that a lot of that is there are people that grew up with Nintendo and that's video games to them. And I don't think it's just the kids as well. There obviously is that a big audience of that. But I'm talking about anecdotal.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Totally, like my groups of friends and like the way that they, I know so many people that just have switches. Like literally, Gia's best friend's husband is a hardcore gamer, but just on the switch. And so every time I hang out with him, I'm talking to him. He's like, oh, what are the hot games? And like, I'm telling him, like, all these big games, he's like, I can't play that because it's on the, it's not on the switch. And I'm like, meanwhile, he loves Hades. You know what I mean? Like he's playing all these games that when they're, when the big hit game of the year type games that aren't.
Starting point is 00:36:15 just the new Mario or new Zelda, they're playing them there. And I just can't believe that it seems as bad as it does right now. Greg, you were you were counterpointing me there. Not counterpointing. I just think like they're moving forward on that and it is this dev business.
Starting point is 00:36:31 And I don't think it's, I think that's such a new wave of Nintendo that I don't think you lose the battle, you lose the war. You lose this fall, it's all over. I think the fact that you see a Borderlands 4 on here, you know, you see that montage of, games going on there. A lot of things we're talking about today are of course on other platforms as well, like, but I think, you know, I'm going to play Elliott on the switch, right? Because I want it
Starting point is 00:36:53 to be going with me. And as much as I love my ROG, I'm having a love affair with my Switch as well. Right now my Switch too. And it's smaller and more compact and I like it more as terms of a device, right? Like, I don't think, I think as we continue to go and now these games are lining up on the same level, you'll see it. I still do think, though, you're going to have that idea of like, we look at outlaws and it's like, well, outlaws in this presentation does not look nearly as good as Outlaws looked on my PlayStation 5. And that's always going to be that tradeoff. And I think that's still going to be the Switch 2's reputation.
Starting point is 00:37:21 But it will be that ability to have it with you. Yeah. I mean, I'm right there with you. I don't expect it to look as good. I think it needs to run. It just needs to be a playable game. And like if you don't know the difference or aren't, not even don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:34 If you're just not, you don't care. Yeah, you don't care. You're not choosing not to buy the PS5. You're choosing to be here. So like I'm not arguing that these games need to be the best. I'm actually arguing the opposite. Of course.
Starting point is 00:37:45 It just, this can't be a we situation. This needs to be a, it can't be a lesser version. It needs to, I mean, it's still, it would be lesser.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Sorry, sorry, sorry. I mean lesser in the sense of like, it won't be as good, but like, it can't be bad. It has to be something that you can on baseline play. Like I,
Starting point is 00:38:00 to the point of like the example you give of your friends, right? Like I remember when on, I went on a hinge date like a couple years ago with a girl who, we were talking about games.
Starting point is 00:38:09 She was like, yeah, I really want to play this Hogwarts legacy game. And I was like, oh, that's cool. And she was like, yeah, I want to play on, get it on Switch. And in my mind, I had to, like, shift the, oh, yes, you were somebody who only has a Switch, right? That, like, it's going to buy maybe two or three games in a year. And, like, it is going to be the most mainstream of thing. But also, it's hard for me to transition that into when we're talking
Starting point is 00:38:28 about the games that we're talking about, as far as, like, the Elden Ring might not be a great example because Elden Ring is a mainstream, like, people will fucking buy and play that shit. But when we're talking about a lot of these games that are third party that are coming to the platform that may or may not run in the way that you want or may may not make their way over, right? Like, I don't know. I have to ask the question of, well, how many people are showing up to the switch for this versus like, if you really wanted to play this game, could you get it on a PC or could you play it on a different platform? Like, would you also be in the market of people who have the switch as a secondary platform as opposed to like your main one thing that you get?
Starting point is 00:39:01 Yeah, I'm just thinking about games like forts or Horizon 5. Sure. And that I think makes sense. Yeah, and there's a ton of that. And Final Fantasy 7 is going to dominate sales on this console. There was going to be so many people that are playing that game for the first time that have been wanting to play that game. I just wish that we were at a better place, and I say this as like, I know it feels early. To me, it feels late. I've been waiting for this for decades at this point, and it seemed like we were finally going to get to that point that from the jump, they got this. They nailed it with the Switch one in terms of being the best Nintendo console ever. But there was a big flaw, and it was third party, and that was because of power.
Starting point is 00:39:35 They solved the power problem. They didn't solve the third party problem fully. I'm not saying they're fucking it up. They're clearly doing a good job. But for this to be the first direct, I'm going in circles here. You get my point. Yeah, just a very late start.
Starting point is 00:39:47 E.A. FC 26th, 2025 for Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2. Yay! Would you ever play this here? Is there any novelty to it being portable that excites you? No. Like, if it ran good enough,
Starting point is 00:40:02 for me, I view it the same way that, you know, Roger's been playing... Can we talk about me? Okay, yeah. I was like, is that our bar? It's out right there. I guess Roxanne was playing it on the show this week. Roger's been playing
Starting point is 00:40:13 WW2K-25 on the Switch 2. And I look at that, I'm like, fuck yeah, dude. I love the idea of, you know, I'm just chilling or if I happen to have my switch on the plane with me or whatever, I can boot up just like one match of WWE. And it doesn't have to be a thing of that's where I'm doing my,
Starting point is 00:40:26 like building my, like career mode or that's where I'm doing my dynasty. No, it's like, I just want to hop into a match and have fun, right? I would view E-A-FC is that same thing. The thing I'm fascinated. to see is for years and years and years and years now, the switch version of FIFA slash
Starting point is 00:40:43 EAFC has just been the same game ported over and over and over again. I know to that people would hear that and go, well, isn't that what sports games always are? And it's, no, it's, this is in a worse way where they don't do anything to the FIFA game. They just copy and paste it year to year. And it got to the point where IGN wouldn't write a new article for the review. They would just copy and paste the review from the previous year because EA wasn't doing anything to change the game. I would hope, and I expect that EASC 26 is a step forward, and I think if you're making that jump forward, then, like, hopefully fingers crossed, you make it a well, a good enough version that, like,
Starting point is 00:41:20 is actually good for people and that people can actually play as their main thing. Who knows? We'll see when we get there, but I hope this is a good enough version. Because if it is, yeah, like, I'm down to have this as a secondary, beautiful match, have fun, and then if I want to play online and build my ultimate team or whatever, I can do that on my PlayStation. I think you're going to say something. I mean, I think, you know, Roger is the one who dove in the most so far with 2K25 WWE, right?
Starting point is 00:41:45 And he came back and says it's running at 60. It looks great. Blah, like, that's why it's on my Switch 2. I still, I've only like scratched the surface this year in 2K25. I don't even if I started on my PlayStation or just played it here when we were,
Starting point is 00:41:56 it was the island stuff. So I've done it, but it's like got caught up in other reviews. Like I think my best chance of doing any serious time is going to be on the Switch 2. If it's competent, if it works, right? Again, I want those kind of games.
Starting point is 00:42:06 on the go with me. I think so many of my 2K 24 hours for WWE were sunk on the portal that this is just well cut it out. You don't get rid of any latency, have it ready to go. And so you see the same thing here with Eafc 26 and in a second with Madden 26, right? Where as, you know, the Vita guy back
Starting point is 00:42:23 from the day and how much I loved Vita, it was always so fucking heartbreaking that third parties weren't supporting the Vita the way PlayStation wanted them to support it, which is a whole problem I know. But like, it was that idea of like cool, the Madden game is going to tie into than the Madden game, my Madden PS3 game will tie
Starting point is 00:42:39 to my Madden PSA Vita game. It did not, right? You were a year behind every year. There wasn't connectivity for a long time. There was a whole bunch of fucking problems with it where it sucked. To have that here where it's like, all right, it's just full-blown Madden. It's another one of like, I can easily see if I'm committed to Madden that year playing it on my switch, so it's with me everywhere I go. Richard Buck in the chat says Nintendo developed the WBE port themselves.
Starting point is 00:43:01 We'll see how much effort. Interesting. to these sports games. Can I get a source on that? That's very interesting. And I'm surprised to hear that. And I wonder why, WWE of all things. But probably because they know how big it could be.
Starting point is 00:43:15 Like, right? That's, I feel like that's the same thing here where EA mistreated the Vita users, right? And that's a bridge too far. I was going to say DS users too, but that would have been a completely different thing. Vita users for sure, because they knew the install base was so fucking small. Why does this matter? Don't put your time into this actually trying to make it work the way we'd like it to work. because it doesn't benefit us to only sell a fraction of the units here, right?
Starting point is 00:43:35 Whereas you would hope here with Nintendo and with 2K, 2K understands how big WWE is. They understand the audience that is kids who play it like Mad Men. They understand that the Switch is going to be there eventually. If I would imagine Nintendo jumps in to prove, hey, look how good these kind of games can run. Let's get NBA on it. Let's get this going.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Let's get the micro transactions and all that jazz. Do you imagine Romer Rames, like, if for the announcement was doing that, then it went. Fantastic. So sick. And we got Pac-Man World 2 repack coming to Switch 1 and 2 on September 26th. I was talking about this earlier, but like, this is nifty. This is a cool little fun surprise for me.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Like this, I put this in the category of the 3D platformers from the PS2 generation that were not that bad. Like, obviously it's not Mario, but this is a good time. And, you know, it's a nice seven out of 10th, women and sevens type thing. So I'm happy it's happening. I don't know that I'm actually going to play through the whole thing, but I'm definitely going to play some of it just for that nostalgia hit. and it looks good. Hell yeah. Bomb vassy tactics, fully voiced, new difficulty modes come in September 30th, 2025 to switch
Starting point is 00:44:40 one and two. I don't think there was any new information there. I think we already knew the release date. But yeah, like we were saying, I'm not in love with the art style. I'm actually a little let down by it, but this game's incredible. And the voice acting goes a long way. It really looks like when you are allegedly playing like a ROM or an emulator, allegedly, and you can
Starting point is 00:45:02 up, you could scale up the pixel graphics and it smooths things out. It's just, oh man, I just... It looks like somebody put their thumb on it and like smunch it around. It just looks like artificial upscaling. It just kind of loses the spirit. Yeah, and then you see this, you're like,
Starting point is 00:45:21 this looks incredible. Persona 3 reload coming October 23rd, 2025 on Switch 2. This is what I'm talking about. Yeah. I expected these type of announcements from a partner showcase a month into Switch 2, and I love that this is here. I think that this is evidence that we're going to see way more persona games. That, to me, is the expectation.
Starting point is 00:45:39 And metaphor of Fantagio is probably not too far away. I mean, of the modern ones, like the, like, Persona 4 and 5 are already on Switch, and Persona 3 Portable also came. So of the modern ones outside of rumored persona 1 and 2 remakes, right? Like, they're pretty much already there. I would expect a metaphor next year if we're going to get. get this in October. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Right. Yeah. It's exciting. Baron, I know you just played through this, but would you be interested in giving this one a shot at all? Um, maybe not, not right now. I'd probably give it a little bit of time. Um, because yeah, this, what came out last year, right? So I'd probably, I'd probably wait on it.
Starting point is 00:46:17 But, um, whenever I am ready to like do another, uh, play through and get my heart broken again, like, it will be the Switch version. Like, I love having that, uh, available handheld. And that's, like, true for me for, like the other persona games now as well. Like if I'm ever in the mood to replay them, like I've got that switch a handheld version, right?
Starting point is 00:46:35 So, yeah. I'm gonna go back to some haters shit right now. This looks so much better than metaphor, did. That's insane. This art style looks so much better than metaphor re-fantasy. Like, it's a different engine. So I understand like technically like prettier in terms of just the cleanness.
Starting point is 00:46:54 But I think... It doesn't look deep fried. metaphor rementado it looks deep fried it looks deep fried I think the I understand what you're saying
Starting point is 00:47:05 I don't agree fully but I understand because I also like I didn't love I wasn't in love with metaphors like art style as much I still think out of all
Starting point is 00:47:12 the persona 5 is still the one that looks the best out of all these games in my opinion but I don't know Persona 3 reload just looks too clean yes
Starting point is 00:47:20 persona 3 there's something about and that's because it was the first game they did in Unreal I think because persona 5, it's its own engine and metaphor. So, yeah. Ali Connie's games always a Grammy as fuck.
Starting point is 00:47:33 Deep fried's fucking hilarious. Great way to put it. High rule warriors, age of imprisonment. Looks fucking awesome coming this winter. There's no release date. Last time we had a 2025. Now they're saying winter. I thought this was going to be December.
Starting point is 00:47:46 I still think it's December. I just wish I knew that it was December. But we know that we're going to be getting an intended direct at some point soon because they need that. answer questions about first party stuff and I feel like that's probably what we'll get the release date for this and metric prime four and an update on kirby air riders if it's still this year or not which to me I think that's the biggest question mark of like I could see it go either way of Zach rye fucking got it done and's hitting it or why would they say that was 2025 clearly I could see like either this being December and air riders being January or the opposite depending on what's going on in their back end Yeah. We playing this? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Like, real talk, I feel like this is going to be the most played in Hyrol Warriors game so far. And I think that it looks interesting. I think the fact that it is canon story, which the last one was too, but this just looks rad. And it being switched to, it's going to actually run decently. Like, I can guarantee I'm going to play this one more than I've played any of the others. I do not think I'm going to see it all the way through unless it fully captures me. But I think that's probably going to be true for most of us. This is going to be the first time I actually boot up.
Starting point is 00:48:56 Like, I've had zero interest in the other ones just because they've always felt like little side offerings, even though that's not true. I know that's just me projecting on that, but this is the one that has interested in me the most for sure. Remember that a Dynasty Warriors game came out this year. Origins. Dynasty, was it called Origins?
Starting point is 00:49:14 Yeah. And like, it feels like it came in when. I know Dynasty Warriors games are for Dynasty Warriors fans, and so it's not even like a slight or anything. But it's crazy to me that, yeah, we've had we had the one before this that was based off
Starting point is 00:49:26 the story of Breath of the Wild and we also had the Persona 5 game that was a bit Muso leading persona 5 strikers and like it's crazy that they made these games that are spinoffs
Starting point is 00:49:35 of some of my favorite games ever like both in my top 10 and for some reason my brain just not does not click with them yeah same and I will try this up I will try this one out because it looks really cool
Starting point is 00:49:46 and I want to know what's up with the story but yeah I'm with Tim that I don't know soccer in that one in that in Strikers no I wish they did oh my god have made a persona 5 soccer game. Tim, I've been trying to close the loop on it. I can't find anything about WWE
Starting point is 00:50:01 2K25 being developed by Nintendo. It says visual concepts in 2K everywhere. So I don't know, maybe they gave them advice, but I can't find anything, any reporting on that. Gotcha. I'm going to talk this out live, Greg. You down for that? Everybody weren't have a conversation. We're having a fun little scheduling conversation.
Starting point is 00:50:17 We're going to go. Yeah, great show. But just timing-wise, we're trying to figure some things out because in 30 minutes, Mike's going to be streaming Battlefield. Mike can start streaming Battlefield in 30 minutes. Yes. So, try to figure this out. A potential option here. We don't do games daily today. This was the news.
Starting point is 00:50:33 We're talking about this. There's one news story that I think we should cover, which is the Marvel token Fighting Souls Extreme Fighting Edition. Yes. What's the name of the game? I don't know. Oh, Marvel Tocon Fighting Souls. Yeah. Yeah. So maybe we, that's a shorter thing. We can just do a reaction to that piece of content. Love that.
Starting point is 00:50:49 What do you think? as like a separate thing? As a separate thing, we can finish this episode. But also I can hold that for tomorrow. I don't think people are dying. But I'm saying instead of doing an episode of Games Daily today, we do just our reaction to that. I'm down.
Starting point is 00:51:00 Just because I feel like timing-wise, that might make sense. And you put up on the games daily feeds? Is that your thing? Or just the games guys feed. Okay. If that's just fully reaction content, I don't know if that's going to be good for audio feeds. Yeah, maybe just video then, just for that.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Just try and deal with the day. Deal with the time. We could just save it for tomorrow. Just go 30 more minutes on this one. I mean, I still think is I still think, I mean, you got, what, 10 things to go? Let's just do that. I would say it's probably.
Starting point is 00:51:22 Not doing games daily, everybody. This is the news of the day, everybody you saw it. I saw Mike in chat, so get ready, Mike. You're still going live around noon. Yeah. Back to the content. Anything more to say about Hyra Warriors? What?
Starting point is 00:51:36 I'm just not a Missouca. Also, sure, I didn't do that. My boy Raru, though. I'm excited to see him back. I'm excited to get more of him. He's a sexy little goat, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we got a mech at the end.
Starting point is 00:51:46 And according to Bairdiel is a different meck than the mech of the guy. Yeah, this is looking more like a huge. humanoid like the the mech that you get in tears of the kingdom is like this weird like chunky but also lanky looking thing um this looks a more humanoid like a person um i'm like maybe they're bringing link soul back into the past i don't know well because that is the interesting thing there's no link at this right yeah because he's this is zelda traveling back in time and tears of the kingdom so which i want we got to not here but there's a conversation to be had of like the next mainline Zelda game is going to start Zelda, right?
Starting point is 00:52:21 Like they've been putting Zelda in the star and roll now. But I feel like they're doing that for the spin-offs for a reason. But I feel like you're built. I feel like you do the spinoffs to then build into a mainline like Zelda is the star here. I could say maybe. I'm just, I feel like they're doing like the more spit like this and echoes of wisdom is like. We're testing the waters. Not testing the waters, but like trying to satiate the people who have been asking for a Zelda lead game forever because in their minds it's link.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Just like in their minds for a main Mario game, it's Mario. But then there was a piece. Now it's Donkey Kong. And then there was the Peach one that people didn't like as much. Madden, NFL, 26, coming August 14th. Again, very cool. You know, I sit there and I, you know, I'm not interested in Madden this year just because my football ups and downs or whatever.
Starting point is 00:53:09 But I love the fact that it is a full-fledged Madden on the switch. It looks like it runs really well. Yeah, great. That's what I would want. What if the bears get really good? No, no, no, no, no, please. No, no, no. It has nothing to do with the fact that bears have ate shit and sucked my entire.
Starting point is 00:53:23 I was thinking about this last night doing dishes. Oh, yeah? They remember when just fucking Walter Payton's ghost was batting in field goal so we could go to the Super Bowl. We got crushed by the Coltson. I'll never forget it. Rex is our quarterback. Sexy Rex. What a season that was, but no.
Starting point is 00:53:35 It's not the, no. All I've ever known my entire life is the bears being bad. It's just the way my life's played out. Payton Manning really took it to you. Fuck, goddamn. That sucked. chilling by the fire coming out later today on the switch two go outside fucking dorks this again back on my haters shit something about this rub me the wrong way
Starting point is 00:53:56 what like this rub me the wrong way because it looks like a VR shovelware game but what's wrong with that I don't know this is where I this is what was that this is where I had hope this is where I had hope that I would get moonlighter today where I was like, oh, man, it is a lot of big publishers and, oh, we're doing this weird indie thing. We got a shot. We got a shot and maybe we're going to get Moonlighter today. I'm just saying, dude, this game just came out five years too late. If this came out beginning of pandemic, it would be in the same conversation as that jump rope game that Nintendo put out for no reason.
Starting point is 00:54:28 Like, this shit, it would have been a hit. You need that avatar of, you know, Mark Zuckerberg looking all weird popping up in there. Like, it's, I don't disagree with you, Tim. I think it was, I think it's an odd choice to have this. here and I don't really know if this is like the right audience. I just don't know. Feels weird. It's 1,000% here just because they have the
Starting point is 00:54:52 camera functionality. Yeah. 100%. Yeah, that's what they want to get there. Probably do it. Again, it's good to see indie representation or whoever this is come on to. I'll ask you this. Timothy Geddes and I will ask everyone. Tim, how much would you pay for chilling by the fire? How much would you pay for it? How much would you pay for this? I mean, no, you are pricing it to be on the store
Starting point is 00:55:08 right now. I mean, that's the problem is I look like, like, I get that there's some people that like cozy games. It doesn't look good. Philibuster $5. $5.000. I would not. Thank you,
Starting point is 00:55:18 Barry. Maybe. $5 is the answer. 10 on the high end, but $5. On the highest side goes, $7.50. $14.99.
Starting point is 00:55:28 That's tough. Chilling by the fire over there on your Nintendo show. That's rough. What's the skill tree looking on? I mean, there are levels. This is it like this feels like a mechanic that they try to stretch out into a game.
Starting point is 00:55:42 And that's why I came out five years to it. But I'm, But I'll say if you rewind like five seconds, you don't need that many campfires. Why are there multiple campfires? Yeah, like everybody has their own campfire? Like, what the fuck are we doing?
Starting point is 00:55:52 Yeah, that is weird. That is kind of weird. You all say this, but I think we should start holding our meetings. If somebody can't be here, we shouldn't do any Discord. We should do it in chilling by the fire. We can't.
Starting point is 00:56:01 Brian, I told you I was bringing the campfire. Why did you all bring your own? I would have been like the dev room. Because I feel like, with the whole, everybody has their own campfire thing. I feel like you're losing the point of it
Starting point is 00:56:10 and you kind of miss out on the interaction between me. Yeah. If you're going to do that, it should be a sip and paint game where you have like your fake wine or whatever. I guess in your Nintendo game, it could be soda. And then you're just painting things with friends. You have your own canvas. Oh. Your camera's still showing, but then like you can like turn your canvas around to show your friends what you're painting.
Starting point is 00:56:27 And it's like, it's so nice. That's really nice. You know, I feel like there's other things you can do with this format that could like really go hard. Thick. Yeah, because you're when you're, it's, you're given the option to draw on a video game. You're going to draw a fucking dick. Oh, okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:39 Okay, okay. Apex Legends coming to the Switch one. That's what it said in the thing over here. Chat, let me know if that's a typo in their own. Apex's been on Switch, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:51 I'm just telling you what the press release they had from Nintendo said. Plus. I mean, yeah. I mean, it's cool. This is one of those ones where you're checking out the checklist of games that you port.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I see where I fucked up. Sorry, it is on me. It starts at the top, headed to Switch 2. If you log in your Nintendo. to switch system today. Sorry, my apologies. Gotcha. Hope it runs better.
Starting point is 00:57:13 I assume it's going to run better. So that's exciting for the Switch audience. The footage... They mentioned that. They said like better visuals, smoother. It looked definitely better, for sure. Yeah. But beyond that, I don't have much thought here. Except Andy
Starting point is 00:57:27 and Mike should play with me. Hella. Coming to the Switch 2 in 2026. See the world through the eyes of a tiny yet brave mouse in a handcrafted world inspired by Scandinavian folklore. As Andy was saying, I had to see this at the Xbox GDC showcase earlier this year.
Starting point is 00:57:44 And it looks great. Like, such a fun little adventure. There are a lot of mouse games, but I like that this one has a unique visual style. And you can play with your friends. Another game we could have our meetings in. I just want to play more games in the office. I want to have that meetings.
Starting point is 00:57:59 We should play games. Yeah, I want to tinker with it. You know, I'll probably, this one looks gorgeous, not on Switch. I mean, let me take that back. even right now what we're seeing from the direct looks gorgeous so I can only imagine what it's going to look like on PC Xbox PlayStation so I'd probably go play this kind of game there
Starting point is 00:58:16 to see if I'm into it also they only uploaded this in 1080p so it's hard to get like even on my screen it looks really like the bit rate isn't great so God he looks better maybe Star Wars outlaws coming to switch to September 4th 2025 we already knew about that but I think that's good what's you oofing about
Starting point is 00:58:38 oh just the visual quality of this game on the switch there seem to be some rough shots or things are looking real noisy because it's just doing its best to try to exist it's doing its best to like keep up the frame rate so that they kind of lower
Starting point is 00:58:54 the resolution in some spots played on a other system if you really want to I really want to give it another shot with what they've kind of fixed done to yeah rewire it rework it in a way. Replant it.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Plants for zombies. Was that the next one? No. We already talked about it. I don't remember. Next up is Kronos, the new dawn coming September 5th, Switch 2 for pre-orders on PC,
Starting point is 00:59:20 PS5, and Xbox series, players can choose between two editions, standard for 60, and on Switch 2, it's 60 as well. Cool. Yeah, again, this is kind of what you're talking about,
Starting point is 00:59:31 right, Tim, of like, hey, these are the games that you can get right away on the Switch 2. I think it's nice to have parity there. again, it's a game that for me, like, I don't know, it's interesting to talk about what I'll play on Switch
Starting point is 00:59:41 versus what I'll play everywhere else, because the portability and convenience of Kronos doesn't appeal to me. This is, I want it in the basement, giant TV all lights off, headset on, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:59:51 Like, that's the experience I wanted, not me on an airplane or on a bus playing it or something. So like, it's cool that it's there for the folks you're talking about that only have a switch to. It's cool that it's there to drive home this point that,
Starting point is 01:00:00 hey, guess what? Bigger games are going to come to the switch day and date. Awesome, but not where I'd play it. Kobe Super Chatton Zane. The biggest surprise was Kronos getting a release date here, but not on its preview events.
Starting point is 01:00:12 Pretty cool, though. Yeah, another marketing beat for you. Yeah, I think seeing this for sure maybe gives me the most hope for what else, you know, those dev kids are out there. Like, this is kind of the, the one that gives me the most hope for maybe the next partner showcase.
Starting point is 01:00:32 Do you think this means Silent Hill 2 is not far behind coming to Switch? is the bluber team, right? I don't see why not. I don't see why not, honestly. I think that's something that could happen. Maybe you, wait, when is Kronos again? Okay, who I was going to, maybe November.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Silent Hills, like, I was thinking like Halloween time. Oh, that'd be sick. Yakuza, Kawami 2, November 13th, coming to Switch 2. Yay! People love Yakuza. Roger does. I mean, Roger, if you're listening in, What was the one that I was at launch?
Starting point is 01:01:08 They had one of the just, like zero was, and I know they didn't run well. Roger wasn't happy with that. You hope for better stuff here with Kawami 2. Kwame 1 also going to come out to Switch 2. It's already out on Switch 1. The new Switch 2 edition apparently on November 13th as well. Apparently there's a bundle. Midway through this trailer had the foolish thought of,
Starting point is 01:01:24 what if I picked up and tried to play Yakuza again? I got to stop. How many times you tried this is the watch? It's been like five times. This could be the one. That's my problem. Oh, wow. Eating my boboes.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Thanks for the bobo, Nick. God, these damn boboes is so good. So good. Then we got a little montage, Borderlands 4, coming October 3rd, romantic saga 2, Revenge of the 7 coming later today. Hello Kitty Island Adventures, wheat flower wonderland coming in the DLCs coming fall 2025.
Starting point is 01:01:56 Shinobi Art of Vengeance coming August 29th demo available today, which is very, very exciting. I have a question for Andy Cortez. You have to preview this game. Yes. What makes you so excited? just because you realized the embargo was a couple of days ago. What has you so excited about Shinobi Art of Ventions?
Starting point is 01:02:15 The art style is awesome as hell, and it's mainly the combat and the way the combat progressed in a way that... I think when I first got my hands on the sticks and got to play this, I was bummed that, I think, just out of habit, I try to do the Prince of Persia Lost Crown thing where if I attack with a normal attack I expect just a straightforward strike
Starting point is 01:02:40 and if I hit up and attack I expect something to knock them up and a down attack I want that directionality and immediately this game doesn't have that I was like ah man it might just be kind of your standard 2D Metroidvania with an awesome art style granted
Starting point is 01:02:58 but the way that you progress and continue to unlock moves that all work with the combos. There were a couple of like PlayStation Chovies that I was popping because you can juggle these enemies in the sky or not the sky, but just like
Starting point is 01:03:15 if you hit him a couple times and knock them up into the air, then hit him and knock him back down, throw the shirk in that continues the combo. Then knock him back up, throw another shirk in that continues it. It just felt so good. The audio and audio design
Starting point is 01:03:30 was so damn good. The chunkiness and crunchiness of all the attacks was freaking awesome. The ultimate moves were great and boss fights were a freaking blast. I enjoyed this more because I enjoyed what I played of this more than what I, the several hours I played of Ragebound because I just think they're going, even though they're both 2D side scrolling, you know, ninja games, they are going for something very different design-wise where Ninja Guyton Ragebound, I think, feels a lot more like the way we spoke of it as a rhythm game.
Starting point is 01:04:11 And I think Shinobi Art of Vengeance feels more what I would expect from a Metroidvania with all of the different moves you can do. And again, Ninja Guiden Ragebound is a lot more, you know, the normal enemies die in one hit and then the chunkier enemies may require a certain ability. This one just, there's a lot more freeform to what you're doing. and yeah I just I really really dug it I was I walked away from that preview going like oh shit I didn't I expected to be way higher on rage bound and was not necessarily but this one seems like it's going to be really really awesome I can't fucking it looks so good I'm getting both Ninja Guy and Ragebound and this it looks so good I don't think I've ever seen a game that I see a screenshot of and I'm like I'm not sure about this art style and you see it in motion like this is the best thing I've ever seen it like this is the best thing I've ever seen goddamn life. And a lot and again, it's, it's the hand drawn nature of it. It's not using a puppet tool with a singular drawn character and you just see the arm kind of way, you know, like I think of Nidhog the way, you know, that's a very, very different art style, but they move like they are built as just like a puppet rig or whatever. But this, every character and everything is all 2D hand animated. So you are
Starting point is 01:05:23 seeing the frame by frame hand, hand animated motions and attacks and it feels awesome. I, there were some sound design issues with like a random thing being way louder than it should have been. And I think those are just weird kind of bugs. But when you are fighting and performing combos, it's just, it's satisfying. It looks good. It sounds good. It's, I think it's going to be a banger. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Barrett, real quick, can you bring that trailer up again and go to the end? Because I saw something that I think might interest bless for the DLC. Oh, the DLC stuff? Yeah. Sega Villain Stage. Downloadable content. second. Second villain stage.
Starting point is 01:06:02 Take this robot shadow. Like what's this going to be? Interesting. Interesting. It's going to be them characters from Yakuza.
Starting point is 01:06:09 Yeah, dude, the upgrades in this game were just so much more compelling to me than they were in Ninja Got and Ragebound. The stuff that you are, the special moves are L1
Starting point is 01:06:20 plus face buttons. So you could put a water type parry on L1X and you could put the fire range thing on L1 circle, but if you get a cooler
Starting point is 01:06:31 upgrade, you can replace the fire one on L1 Circle with something else. It just, it had a lot more personality to it with the moves that you were using. That's awesome. Hell yeah. NBA bounce was next up. Rise from rookie to pro in this arcade
Starting point is 01:06:47 style basketball game coming September 26th. I'm excited for this. I mean, not really, but like, I want to check it out. Yeah, I have friends that are working on this one and like when they're describing it, I was like, oh that's really neat i never thought about the fact that like an a kids game like a genuine children's game getting the NBA license
Starting point is 01:07:06 is kind of bizarre yeah different and weird and i folk with it like that's really cool i love basketball games and you will you know if you've ever watched any of our content where we speak of or we talk about uh 2k basketball games and just how not into them i've been for several years now i've just been kind of wanting a any sort of basketball thing that isn't the 2K experience. And, yeah, I'm excited to try this one out. This seems like it could be cute and fun. Get a little, you know, 3V3 squad party mode going or something like that.
Starting point is 01:07:41 We all miss jam, right? So, like, why not? We do not do this. You got some party effects? Okay. And then the final one in the montage, Greg. Good night universe. Good night universe.
Starting point is 01:07:53 This went up. We looked at it. First person baby or something. Said that's a great game. That's something I'm going to want to know more about. But then I got the press release about it. And I was like, God damn it, why'd they fucking shove this in the montage like this? Developer Night's Game has announced via today's Nintendo Direct that Good Night Universe,
Starting point is 01:08:11 the spiritual successor to BAFTA winning before your eyes. No way. In winner of the 2024 Tribeca Games Award will be available on November 11th for Switch, Switch to PlayStation Xbox PC. On camera compatible platforms, Good Night Universe uses innovative camera as a controller mode that debuted in before your eyes. but now in new and inventive ways as you step into the role of Isaac,
Starting point is 01:08:31 a six-month-old baby developing a mysterious psychic power. That's all awesome. That sounded incredible. I fucking loved before your eyes, so I'm all about this game already. Timothy, here's where it gets you. The leading cast includes Lewis Pullman, Thunderbolts, and Top Gun Maverick as the main character
Starting point is 01:08:47 Isaac. Whoa. Not named Bob. That's crazy. Oh, yeah, yeah. There's a bunch of other people from Reno 911. The Daily Show, they got Bow Bridges from Matt lock and homeland. What the fuck? Timothy Simons from Veepe and nobody
Starting point is 01:09:01 wants this. Like, I don't know why I thought you're going to say Louis Black. Let's go. Hell yeah. Let's go. I missed that this was the spiritual successor
Starting point is 01:09:10 before your eyes. I'm all about it. I can't wait. That's cool. You think Bill Pullman plays video games? No. Really? I don't.
Starting point is 01:09:18 Do you? Bill Pullman. His dad. The son of the United States. Lewis Pullman. Ah, shit. Lewis Pullman. Yeah, he's played a game here.
Starting point is 01:09:24 Okay. Yeah, and then the final two, The Adventures of Elliot, the Millennium Tales. A brand. Let me play it. Give it to me a camera. A brand new action RPG for the creators of Opsopath, Traveler, and Bradley defaults. The Adventures of Elliot Millennium Tales combines captivating HD2D visuals and action adventure gameplay
Starting point is 01:09:41 to create a top-down journey in a wide open world woven across time and space. Coming to Switch 2, 2026. An exclusive demo is available now. Andy has it in his hands. Hell yeah. I don't like it. to Philibaldia. One thing,
Starting point is 01:09:56 with Amelia Bedelia. One thing I don't like is it looks like when someone does a parody logo and, you know, just puts, you know, if a person's name was Elliot, but they wanted to be
Starting point is 01:10:10 the metaphor refontasio logo, that's what reminds you of. I just don't like how the word Elliot is kind of like in that slanted form. But everything else about this game, aside from the dude's stupid ass hat. I don't know if it's no good.
Starting point is 01:10:22 My lady. Stupid ass hat. My lady. this is kind of what I've been wanting from a lot of these different games or have been wanting other devs to take a swing at this style of game because we've seen Square put out a lot of these amazing looking video games that are just never quite in my jam because of the style that they're in because of them being turn-based style games and I'm always like all right well score's not going to do it can somebody else fucking do it I really want a top-down Zelda style game or just a top-down. down action RPG. Give me a dodgeo. Give me a... And this is like, oh shit, they're doing it. Finally. This is exciting.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Yes. Awesome. Can't fucking wait. Like, what an art style. I love a good action RPG. I hate the red hat. I hate the fedoras. In the chat, Chris says, dude, don't dis fedoras. Chris, we need you to sit down. We need you to sit down for a second and just listen. We're coming to you as your friend.
Starting point is 01:11:22 All right. We're coming to you as your friend, Chris. take off the fedora. Take it off. You got to get rid of the fedoras, man. I understand that you're like, oh, it's my thing. It's not a good thing, Chris. It's not a good thing, Chris,
Starting point is 01:11:33 if you have them. The one friend. It's not a good, exactly. He might be wearing a fedora too. Now you turn to him and you say, we shouldn't be wearing the fedoras.
Starting point is 01:11:41 The fedoras are not a look. We are not 1920 gangsters, so that means it's only one other thing. And it's not a good thing. Don't wear the fedora, okay? I wish somebody had told me about jean shorts back in the day.
Starting point is 01:11:53 They didn't. I'm telling you don't wear the Adora or Gene Shorts. Octopath Traveler Zero was announced. That's kind of crazy. Fuck yeah. I mean, especially on the heels of this where it started. I was like, oh, is it Octopath?
Starting point is 01:12:02 No, it's the Adventures of Elliot, the Millennium Tales. How could I not know that? Okay, cool. This looks Oxum, action RPG. Cool, cool, cool. And then to roll right into Octopath Traveler Zero. And again, for me to be a fan and be like, oh, we're creating a character for the first time?
Starting point is 01:12:15 Dope. Okay, cool. We're creating a town, a homestead? All right. That sounds rad as hell. I'm all about this. Let's go. Yeah, you genuinely could have started this off with either Octopath or
Starting point is 01:12:24 Philadelphia. Elliot and like, you know, have them be the start in the end of it because these were the two most exciting announcements here and like Octopath Traveler
Starting point is 01:12:31 again, it's one of those game series that's avoided me as far as like I've wanted to get into Octopath but it's always like the thing of place and time and mood. Of course. But like these games continue to look gorgeous.
Starting point is 01:12:43 I think this one is interesting as far as like you know it introducing it of all right you're playing as his character name it the default name is zero which is fucking cool. And then like I'm very curious about what they got going on
Starting point is 01:12:52 at the one, I'm curious about town building shit. Because it is giving dark cloud a little bit, which I'm all the way into. But then I'm also fascinated by what they had going on with the ending shot of all those characters standing in a row. Well, you're still recruiting.
Starting point is 01:13:05 You're still recruiting a team. I believe the press really said there's 30 recruitable characters. Oh, that's really cool. Yeah, yeah. So that's always a big part of Octab. Fans on the internet were quick to kind of see that a lot of elements of this game are inspired by the mobile gotcha game. Oh, interesting.
Starting point is 01:13:20 But taking out the mobile gotcha elements and recontextualizing things, it seems that there might be characters from that mobile game in this. Can I give you some here? Yeah. Give it to me here. Jumping into their rundown
Starting point is 01:13:34 of what's already happening, right? Well, the game features returning core elements from the series, and for the first time the series history, player will be able to customize their own protagonist and rebuild their hometown
Starting point is 01:13:42 after it was destroyed. The story builds upon the mobile game Octopath Traveler Champions of the continent, adding new story content where players rebuild their town and reinterpreted story beats, unfold throughout. Fans familiar with the series
Starting point is 01:13:55 can enjoy the return, blah, blah, blah. So it sounds like, yeah, it's pulling stuff from that game for sure. Everybody knows I'm a big turn base fan. Turnbase.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Yeah. We do know that. We love that, yeah. I hate you so much. I played 15 hours of metaphor repontazio. Really enjoyed that. I was proud of you for that,
Starting point is 01:14:09 actually. Great, solid, game solid all the way through. But the, I would say Octopath is one of those because of its art style, like I already mentioned
Starting point is 01:14:19 and talked about how much I really enjoy the visuals of it. Octopath is one. that I've always wanted to give a solid go. And legitimately, the town building stuff mixed with creative character and feeling like you have more player agency,
Starting point is 01:14:33 that could be the, you know, added variables. That gets me in there, dude. Yeah, 30 recruitable party members. December 4th coming to Switch 1 and Switch 2, but GameSpot reports, the full post from Squarionics reads, it's not possible to upgrade from the Switch version
Starting point is 01:14:48 to the Switch 2 version once purchased. There are no plans for an option to upgrade to the Switch 2. version. So please make sure you purchase the correct version. Warn people ahead of time. Game supposed got this big article about it. It's like, I don't know. I get it but like, just buy the right version.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Finish it before you buy your switch two. Let's get to the chats. Cusa super chats. Coba says this director's nowhere near as bad as people say. Take it for what it is and not all the crazy predictions people make. I give it a 6.5 out of 10. We got some new IP.
Starting point is 01:15:19 So I'm just laughing of like, oh, y'all are too harsh on it and then they give it one point higher. Still not. It's sniffing it good. I don't, so this was an early super chat, so I don't think that this is reacting. I think it's reacting to the the internet. Ty Wilkin says the adventure of Elliot, a
Starting point is 01:15:37 millennial's tale in Philadelphia. All honesty, though, this looks like an interesting and very pretty Zelda-like. Yeah, it looks awesome. Yeah. Dude, this is cool so far. I'm running around. You've got to run it as a stupid ass hat. Rance Cox says, I can't remember who's on games daily after this, so I want to say it now.
Starting point is 01:15:53 Tim, I'm proud of you for bringing the book today. I did bring the book today. Tim brought the book today. Of course, you know, if you follow me on Instagram, you sound on my stories. What book? The expanse. The expanse. Me and Tim are going to read the first book of the Expans series.
Starting point is 01:16:06 Oh. No way for. We like the game. We're going to try. I promised I was going to read chapter. I didn't realize it was as big as, I didn't realize it was as big as the new James Bible or whatever. It's fucking the thing. You know what?
Starting point is 01:16:17 First of all. It's the King James Bible. They call him Jimmy. Or the new international. Opponents Prime says 6 out of 10 more like Nintendo Portner Showcase, am I right? That's the problem. It wasn't. It needed more.
Starting point is 01:16:31 I needed more ports. Some okay stuff, but at this point, why not just push man announcements like these ports to Nintendo today instead of wasting money on a video package? Yeah, like, give me a reason to bust open that app, you know? Kabob says I'm looking for my brother, Elliot. Elliot.
Starting point is 01:16:47 I think there's like big battlefield news coming in, it sounds like from chat. 10, 10, 25, looks like. I released it there. Open beta. Mike's about to stream it and just a few short minutes. Mike will be streaming here. And it will be only on Twitch because of the way it works.
Starting point is 01:17:00 So Twitch.tv.tv is kind of funny games. We will probably have to cut. Oh, not probably. We have to cut before it goes on. She said, Troy says, Tim had me so hyped thinking the Switch 2 was going to be a third-party monster. And this showcase was a huge letdown. The Switch 2 is just not worth it.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Fucked up with you, Tim. Tim, send him money. It's your fault. You did this. Send him to money. Refer to everything else I said earlier in the show. CJ Splitson says a bit off topic, but Tim, Twisted Metal has a 90
Starting point is 01:17:22 22% rotten tomato score. Fuck yeah. Shows out now. Can't wait to watch this show. What you mean already? I don't know. It feels like it came out of nowhere a little bit. I'm hyped to shit, man.
Starting point is 01:17:34 Let's go. Axel baby. Kobe Arndt says biggest surprise was no, we already read that one. Nimble Trent says honestly never thought we'd get another octopus path. So stoked for that. It's that and Elliot why Final Fantasy Tactics isn't using the HG 2D style is upsetting. We agree.
Starting point is 01:17:48 We agree. Foxy Steve says, I thought this was the six, had some neat ports, and the new Square Unix games look really cool. I think we'll see more at the next main direct. Jose de Luna says, have you guys talked about how easily the switch to screen scratches? I treated it perfectly and full of scratches in one week. Yeah, Barrett had issues with that.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Also, I'm a cat. Imagine to get a cat boss. Yeah, I was completely fine for a few days, and then just took it out of the dock normally. And there was just like fucking five scratches. like I had just fucking thrown it across the room. It was tough. I got a protective case for it and it hid most of the scratches.
Starting point is 01:18:28 There's one tiny one. It was like not super noticeable, but I know it's there. That's the worst kind of. Penguin Corn says, winter starts on December 21st. High Will Warriors is 2026. Yeah, maybe. Ty Wilkin says, that's your link standing, calling it.
Starting point is 01:18:46 Maybe. Alex Motor says, has anyone else received an email from Nintendo the last 24 hours? it was focused on preferences on digital slash physical slash key card for purchasing games. I did not. No. Really quick. Someone else in the chat earlier, Tim said that maybe
Starting point is 01:19:01 the link stand-in is possibly the hero of legend that we see with like the red, orange hair and shit. That could be cool. Wait, that could be really cool. Because we get his outfit into his kingdom. Huh. Think about it. Are we beating this game bet?
Starting point is 01:19:17 Is it happening? Maybe. Alex J. Sandoval says if you need to kill a couple minutes before Mike takes over maybe watch the Battlefield 6 multiplayer trailer. There's a surprise in it for Andy and Greg. We're not going to have time to do that, but I'm interested in what the surprise is.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Conant of Clip says Shinobi art style similar to Bo Path of the Teal Lotus. Yeah, that's true. Jessica Hinkle says, Greg, I formally request for you to wear jeans shorts and fedores for all of October and play the character just to make a point. At first I hated it and then I kind of came around. I love them. At first I was like,
Starting point is 01:19:48 wow, you don't want, then what am I did? It could be a good idea. Yeah, man. Shea Slay says, Andy, how long did Honglu take you?
Starting point is 01:19:55 Three hours for me. Honglu in Wuchong. Are you talking about the monster beast, or are you talking about Honglan? Because Honglan is the one that should take you the longest. Hang on? But I would say like maybe two hours,
Starting point is 01:20:14 something like that. Trevor says Not Nintendo related But Battlefield multiplayer looks great Can't wait So like the battlefield hype Is beginning here Because Mike himself
Starting point is 01:20:24 The Snowbike Mike Is about to play For your viewing pleasure If you're watching on Twitch Stay where you are If you're watching on YouTube Make the jump over Refresh if you need to
