What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Thursday, February 5th, 2026.
I'm one of your host, Greg Miller, alongside New York Game War.
It's nominated, AKA New York City Travel and Poppy.
K-K-A, the future class of gaming's blessing at E-O-Yea Jr.
Good day, Greg.
Good day.
How are you?
Doing good.
Are you happy you didn't wake up at 5.30 in the morning for that?
I'm mad.
I woke up at 9 a.m. for that.
Next to you, the master of hype snow bike.
What up, Greg.
Nice to see you.
Mike, I don't compliment you.
Mike, I don't compliment you pen and paper.
Thank you, Greg.
I love that you come in.
You write your notes out by hand.
I learned it from you.
You know that.
I find when I'm on the computer, it's easy to get sides back.
Distracted.
And sometimes I like that.
I do know that sometimes I miss writing down all the game announcements,
but I got you guys.
You know,
I'm here.
Blessing, great job on the notes.
You always a fantastic job.
So it's like,
I'm covered.
I write down the ones that matter.
What about me?
That's fucked up.
I don't know about you.
I don't do that.
You're right to not know about me.
Rounding out the quartet,
the Hispanic Harthorup Texas treat Latino heat,
clicking heads and ripping him to shreds.
The globe trotting head shot and three point shooting root and tootin.
Nitro rifle from Twitch.
Andy Cortez.
Good morning, everybody.
Hi.
Hi.
How are you?
I'm doing all right.
That's what I'm doing all right.
Good for you.
What's wrong?
Yeah.
It's just blessing got dustbloods in my head and he got me off.
That's my bad.
I thought, you know, I thought Nintendo would try.
It's my bad for hoping for anything.
Why would I hope for video games and a video game big?
Blessing shakes his head.
You're thinking too small.
No, no.
You're not thinking big enough.
He said.
Some capcoms.
some light about.
No, what are you guys talking about?
My bad, you know, because I think, oh, Nintendo, a big company,
one of the video game hardware manufacturers.
Certainly, they'll get the goods and provide us with the goods
to show us how the rest of the year's going to look like.
He's got me right down metaphor, does blow.
I'm out here right to hope.
At our partner showcase, what if he showed off
the game from our biggest partner right now?
That's coming out this year.
Actually, never mind.
Let's do oblivion.
Let's close on oblivion.
Yeah, yeah.
If you didn't know, everybody,
we just watched Nintendo,
Direx partner showcase for February
2025 live
for us. Of course you can always keep up with us
live, Twitch.tv.tv.tv.com slash kind of funny games. We're live
each and every day with live programming all day long. Started with
Kind of Funny Games Daily into Games cast. Maybe an interview
after, maybe a stream. You never know what you're going to get
except we tell you all the time. And there's a show called The Buzz
that keeps you posted on it. Keep up with the buzz.
Of course, we did just live react on a delay because we didn't want to get up at
6 a.m. to the Nintendo Direct show.
case. We are hot off of it. We have just done it. We have not said anything other than what you've
heard here. And then at the end, blessing being fired up. So let's start me off. Are you going to
review, you pulled this with Gary? Are you done with review scores for directs and things like that?
I go back and forth. Toss it out. This is your bad. Toss a number of this. I'll get a number.
I'll give it a 2.5. Damn. Why? 2.5. Yeah. I mean, they had like, starting with orbitals was such
a strong start. That game is one of the games that I think most of us here, all of us here are super
excited for. I think that's one of the most highly anticipated
for the year. Awful. 2.5's awful. Oh, 2.5 is awful.
On the reviews. We got one for Gallum, two for awful,
three for bad. Yeah. I was trying to think of the words I would use
to describe this or a metaphor I would use.
And I think the closest thing I can think of, have you ever seen the South Park
episode where one of the, one of the characters, I think was either Kyle
or Stan or whatever. I don't even know there's a Stan.
There's a Stan. Okay, either Kyle or Stan.
Stollard.
They had like a depression.
or whatever, and, like, they were listening to music,
but all the music sounded like shit.
Yeah.
You remember that episode or it's like,
oh, yeah, he's like, oh, listen to this band or whatever.
He starts listening.
It's like, oh, it sounds like shit.
Yeah.
And it's like, everything just sounds like shit.
I don't know, maybe it's just the energy I'm waking up with this morning,
but every game looked like shit to me.
Wow.
And I, this is what I'll shout out Nintendo for.
Thank you, thank you so much, Kevin.
This is what I'll shout out Nintendo for.
Sure.
Is that they show the true gameplay.
You know what I mean?
Like, hey, this game is coming to Switch one.
They're not hiding.
It's coming to Switch 2.
we're not going to hide how this thing looks.
This is how it's authentically going to look on the machine.
And that is integrity.
That is authentic.
And that's what all these companies should do.
That said, maybe lie a little bit.
Just a little bit.
Like, these games don't, I don't think they're presenting, well, I look at third party games here.
And I'm like, man, why would I ever play this year?
This does not look good.
And that was the thing we talked about, right?
It's like, coming into the Switch 2, better hardware.
You complained all Switch 1 that third party games weren't running up to where you wanted to be.
let's make the belief, right?
We know first party games are great here,
but show me a reason why I should be investing
in third party games.
And then we do this,
the first kind of like partner showcase
of the Switch 2 lifespan,
and you go, ooh, I can promise you this generation,
we're not going to do that.
Yeah.
We're not going to achieve that goal.
Yeah.
We asked, you know, before,
when we were getting ready to go live with our reactions
when we were in the pre-show version we had for the audience,
it was like, is this going to be more new announcements
or more old things coming over?
And I feel like that's why,
what we're lacking is that we're lacking that,
I am,
but here's Bethesda to end it,
and here's something we've never said before,
or no one's gotten before,
and I know,
like, even a Starfield, Nintendo Switch,
you'd be like, oh, okay, all right,
you know what I mean?
Like, that's,
it's leaving the Xbox ecosystem and going there,
you know what I mean,
to dream of a Fallout, you know,
three remodels, like, whatever,
you know that would go,
to get, like, okay, cool.
And you look through the list
and it's the same way, right?
It's like, yeah, Final Fantasy,
great, cool,
pregmata, yeah, cool.
Like, I know that, like,
there's people who have skipped this.
Turok where we're like,
wait, has we heard about this?
Like this seems like a need more pop and circumstance.
And I think the Turok thing for me is I'm almost like,
man,
I kind of wish this would have been a state of play.
That way the game would look better.
Yeah.
Because if you're first showing us,
or if you're showing us first new looks at gameplay for this game,
that was announcing we're all like,
whoa, new Turok is coming back.
I want to see it present in its best form possible.
And I look at that and I'm like,
that looks kind of good,
but also I wanted to look better.
And I'm sure this was a different showcase.
It would look better.
So it was just that weird thing.
what we're doing with the Nintendo Switch partner direct.
I don't even know if that could even be a thing I really fault it for
because that's just what this is
but it's something that sticks out to me.
2.5 from Bless, for me, I'd throw, you know,
jumping into this, I would throw out a four
on our scale, that's me. Like, I'm right.
Like, you know what I mean? Like, I love hanging out with you guys
obviously, so it's always fun to that. But if
somebody at all was to ask, should I watch it?
Well, no. It wasn't bad,
but like you could look at a list of games
and see if they speak to you. Mike, where are you going to go?
Yeah, I like that, Greg. I'm a little bit above
you. I'm a 4.5. I'm in that
me to mediocre range.
And why I'm giving it a positive here
is a lot of dates. A lot of dates
that are coming out. Sure, sure, sure, sure. Now, a little
bit later in the month, this summer.
I was really impressed with like,
hey, we got the dates here. And I think
if I had only the Switch 2,
I'm happy that they showed so many games.
My big critique in the downfall of this is like we
talked about it. It's like, man, when I see these games,
I go, ooh, that doesn't look good. It's not running
well. And as so many
ecosystems that I own now, I'm just going to go play
these third party games somewhere else. So here I am the start of the Switch 2
Lifecycle and we're going to repeat the same thing I did on Switch 1. This is for
first party games only. Other than that, I'm not doing this, right? Like, I'm not
going to buy games over on my, on my Switch for third party stuff. I'm
going to play on the Steam deck, right? And that's like it's competitor on the
on the OnTo Go stuff. And I wanted a little more here at the start of the Switch 2
lifecycle. Andy? Yeah, I'm around a
I'm around a four or five as well. I think
I think the saddest part is
a blessing,
destroying Turok there
and I think Turok probably looked
the best out of most of these games.
Not to say that it was awesome.
I think what orbitals, of course, is a different
area. That's a whole different
stratosphere. I thought, I think
Sabre Interactive is killing it
with what they're doing on the
dev and publishing side of things,
picking the right sort of partners to
sort of team up with. I thought
Turok looked really
damn good from a visual quality standpoint. We saw
Final Fantasy look good in most spots and then you saw a lot of
frame drops and you realize, yeah, this is the Switch 2 hardware and, you know, when
Final Fantasy 2 comes out, you know, it's, or when Final Fantasy
Rebirth comes out on PS5, not even the PS5 pro version, you know
that, all right, I have quality, which is 30 phrase per second and
the visual quality is going to look so-so and if I want 60, it's going to look
blurry as hell.
They're trying to find a happy medium.
Hopefully they can continue to try to, you know, optimize a lot of these titles.
But yeah, this was just a...
There weren't really a whole lot of good surprises and good unknowns.
And usually these are good for at least a couple of those where you're like, oh shit,
we didn't know this was happening.
Awesome.
And I just didn't really feel that magic this time around.
I am super stoked to, like Mike mentioned, with the dates.
And hey,
Hollow Night's available now.
If you had Hollow Night on the OG version,
if you already owned it,
you get the Nintendo.
Automatic.
Like,
I love that stuff.
100%.
Continue to help out the consumer in that way.
Shout up the team cherry,
right, of course,
or doing right by them.
It's a successful thing.
And shout out to you.
Of course,
if you want to be part of this live show,
you can YouTube,
super chat,
YouTube.com slash
kind of funny games
to your thoughts,
opinions,
the games that stood out to you,
but most importantly,
your review scores right now.
I want to know where you are
on the barometer.
Of course,
if you have hot,
hot,
hot,
tomorrow's gamescast go to patreon.com slash
kind of funny. There's a free post up.
You just have to make an account. Why not follow
I might make an account? I might pull some of my hot takes
and do it. Tomorrow will be all about that.
For the hot takes, tell me, of course, what you
if you're especially an audio listener or listening later,
what you thought of this direct, but more importantly, what you
want out of a partner direct? What could Nintendo
do? And are they selling you? Give me
Nintendo third party overall hot takes,
not just about the direct, which we're kind of covering
today. Of course, thank you for
our Patreon producers making this happen on Patreon.
com slash kind of funny. That's Carl Jacobs,
Omega Buster, and Delaney the Somme twining.
For now, let's begin with what is
and forever will be topic of the show.
Let's go through it.
Game by game, topic by topic,
to give everybody a thorough
review of a direct we didn't enjoy
that much. It starts with orbitals,
which again,
fuck yeah, let's go. A two-player
co-op adventure, of course. We've seen
it before. The more I see of it, the more
I love it. Andy, what did you call it?
In terms of genre?
Hazelike.
A haze like.
It looks so damn good.
I mean,
obviously the level of quality and love put into these 2D animated cutscenes are phenomenal.
Yeah.
It just feels like you are watching an anime from the 80s.
It's so impressive visually.
And that's like, that's not cheap to do.
Like, that takes a lot of work and effort to make something look that good in quality.
But then to have the gameplay emulate the art style so perfectly as well.
and it looks fun showing us different.
Well, I'll tell you one thing I really love about these is, you know,
as much as we kind of make fun of the narrator guy doing the different genre voice changes,
which is like, you kind of have to, I understand it.
But I do love them showing off, and with this ability, this is what you're happening.
It's almost like we're not just showing you trailers.
We are also kind of informing the audience as to what the gameplay experience will be like.
And it looks amazing.
If you're an audio listener, of course,
this is being created by Shape Farm.
About orbitals on their page reads,
grab a friend and launch into orbitals
in Intergalactic two-player co-op adventure
set in a wholly new retro anime world.
Team up as Maki and O'Mura,
two inseparable explorers with a whole lot of determination,
with more determination than experience.
You'll brave the perils of space
in search of help for their crumbling station home,
now trapped within a supernatural cosmic storm.
Our duo must venture beyond this storm
and into the unknown in a desperate bid to save their home.
It'll take brains, bravery, and teamwork to make it through.
I can't fucking wait, Mike.
This looks awesome.
This looks like the narrative chops that I also want out of the Hayes games.
We're usually talking about Joseph Farris over there at Hazelight.
Yeah, I mean, this is a very strong way to kick off the partner direct.
I think this is a game that everyone, once you see it, you get excited about it.
You automatically know it because Joseph Farris and his team over at Hayslight.
has done a fantastic job putting these co-op games on the map, right?
And I asked the question during it of like,
what is it going to take to make this game great?
Right?
Because we know that Joseph Farris and his team have nailed that, right?
But maybe some of the themes and the tones don't really hit you that hard.
And that's what has happened for me during split fiction and it takes two.
And so when I see a game like this, I'm like, oh, I love all the co-op gameplay stuff.
It's the story that doesn't hit for me and click for me.
I want something different.
I instantly see this and I go, yes, this is what I want, right?
And so me and Nick currently coming off of Army of Two, I want to see more games explore
this category.
Once again, this fun shared split screen co-op adventure, maybe on your couch shared with
a friend, but like playing a third person over the shoulder shooter with Nick has been
a ton of fun.
I hope we see more of these.
And this team is going to knock this one out of the park.
The thing I really want is a demo.
I really want to give hands on the sticks.
I think this game looks fantastic
and I think you guys addressed it right
this is bringing something that
it feels like you know
Hayes like of course brings the quality
but yeah to your point
is it a world I want to exist in
I look at it takes two
and I like that world
I like the story
I thought it was goofy
I'm not gonna give it an Oscar
for Best Riding or like that
but it's a really fun world to live in
split fiction I think there are elements
that are fun but I think overall
there's something about it where it's like
ah the more I exist in this world
the more there's something left to be desired
I immediately, immediately look at this game and I go, oh, I want to exist in this world.
That said, how's the gameplay going to live up?
I think the gameplay looks fun from the trailers, but if we're going to do the compare and the contrast thing,
I still look at Hayeslight as like top tier in terms of gameplay design and moment to moment
switching things up and giving players fun things to do.
That's not easy.
That's a really tough thing to live up to.
But I hope they're able to do it.
I think there's potential there.
Looking at what we saw there in gameplay mechanics and what you're doing, yeah, yeah.
I don't need it to be switched up dramatically.
Like I think Hayslight does that so well.
I love that about it.
I want to be so invested in their story
that from whatever bit to bit
trying to fix up this space station,
I don't need it to feel like I'm in a different world
as much as I'm just doing something fun.
But even if the core mechanics were the same five things
repeated throughout, I think I could get behind that
with what I'm looking at.
Yeah, I wonder how that feeling will feel
because, yeah, bless I'm with you,
it's like, we're on game three with Hayslight.
They have now refined, they've experimented.
Now they're trying new things, right?
It's like, what will it be like maybe going back to square one with a new team?
And it's like, yeah, we only repeat the same three to five things.
Will that quickly go, oh, man, like, you have everything I wanted.
You just weren't there.
And that's my little concern of this.
Yeah, I think that might be a little bit.
I think that people might underrate a little bit is how good that gameplay is in split fiction.
Right.
Moment to moment you are having a good time.
When you're stepping into this with a new team and you haven't done something like this before.
Yep.
I think people are going to, I think there's a chance.
People might pick this up and go, oh, okay.
Like, the story.
fun. The characters are fun, but yeah, like the gameplay, I'm bored, or the gameplay is living up to
this thing that I just came off of that we gave eight out of ten, even though it's, you know,
amazing gameplay. I'm shocked you didn't get to play this at the Nintendo thing. No, they didn't
have it there. That's really surprising. Do you want to, at the time, I mean, we're to get to
those games eventually. What was the Nintendo thing, plus? So last week went to New York,
Nintendo invited out press and creators to preview some of the games that are coming out in
2026 that they've already announced. And so I got to play a handful of games. The ones that
shown off here that I got to play are Pragmata and Reson the Evil Requiem.
But I also got to check out Mario Tedis Fever, Virtual Boy, Mario Wonder, plus
Bellabelle Park in another game that I can't talk about. But yeah, for now, I'm excited to talk about
We got a games cast on the book for next week with IGN's Logan Plant.
Yeah.
To come by and talk about what you guys saw in New York, so that'll be exciting.
From orbitals that we moved to a thing. They're like, yo, these are Switch 1 games.
And there was just two of them. We started with Paranorma Sight, The Mermaid's Curse.
How far would you go to survive a curse?
Unravel a captivating supernatural mystery through multiple viewpoints in this brand new paranormal site tale.
Set in the coastal region of Japan, this original standalone story introduces new atmospheric locations, supernatural legends,
and a new cast of characters to experience as players navigate the chilling mysteries surrounding the Mermaids of Eyes.
The Mermaid's Curse launches on Nintendo Switch February 19th, pre-orders of course begin today.
I'm with you blessing as you were in this show.
I look at this and I go, man, that looks like a cool little detective game that I don't think I'll ever make time for.
Yeah.
Yeah, again, I like the idea of these games.
And I really hope that these games find an audience because I want people to keep putting out neat detective stuff.
Because every now and then there's one that breaks out and then makes its way to me.
I started playing Return of the Oberdin a couple weeks ago.
And I was like, man, this is such a cool game.
But yeah, like I feel like you need the hardcore audience of these things to, you know, have games to speak to them.
That way they can support them.
that way we can get more of them.
And so hell yeah, for the devs that I put in this out,
I'm curious for y'all, like, does this hit for you guys in a direct?
I mean, the direct, no, I think you said so well, I was like,
who's playing this, right?
I never meet anyone who's like, I play this.
But last year we had blueprints that put me back into a shot chew in the chat.
I actually plan to check this from out.
Okay, well, here's what I was just going to say is like,
we love you, shot chew.
Last year, I got really big into blueprints,
which got back on the puzzle stuff, right?
We had, of course, the Onion Detective
movies that have been
the Blas. Knives out. And it's like one of those
of like, I'm on my detective shit right now.
Like that murder of sans. Blake Man.
So it's like these are the games
that I do want. Just like Bless says, like
I want an awesome detective game, right?
But I probably need someone to play this
and be like, Mike, this is worth
your time, right? Because when I look at it, I go
that's not something. I'm going to just try and
pick up. Now, the catch
is this comes out February 19th,
which is like next week to two
weeks from now. Kind of quiet period.
this is like a moment where it's like maybe you dabble you try something really quick.
And so it is something of like I look at that and go, I'd like to try a fun detective game.
I don't know if this is going to be that, but you might have me to give it a try.
Okay.
I think we're always good for a couple of those on these Nintendo directs.
There's always a, you know, a Japanese game that you aren't really used to seeing on large stages like this.
There's always a sort of, what's the one with the, uh,
little bear, little like
thing and rompa. We're always
going to get a couple of these and
they just never quite break out enough
for me to want to give a shot.
Especially with how packed our schedules
normally are anyway. This one being supernatural, I like,
I missed the first paranormal side of it. I hadn't even
heard of it honestly. I probably did, but I don't know anything about it.
This one, looking in the mirror, seeing yourself, like,
I like the story beats they showed in that trailer
enough that to Mike's point, if like, for
some reason around that week it is quiet.
I could see me kicking on, but then it goes into how long is this game?
What am I doing?
What are we getting Resident Evil Requiem, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et.
From there, the other switch, one game they made a big deal about was Captain
Subasa to World Fighters.
You knew it right away.
I said it's a soccer game and you said, oh, yeah, Captain Subasa is a very popular series of
anime, I believe, adapted into video games because I've seen these Captain Subasa games on the
PlayStation store all the time.
Yeah, they have an audience, right?
They're people that flock to these games, but it's not necessarily my thing.
And what is this?
It's just like FIFA type soccer where it's like active playing or is just like a turn-based soccer?
I think it's more turn-based.
I don't know much about the gameplay, but maybe more like Blitzball.
You might be into this.
This might speak to you.
Hold the phone now.
Yeah.
I just saw a holographic bulldozer on this.
But then at the same time, there's one guy doing a spin move past another guy.
It's like, what is the gameplay of these games?
I've never tried them, you know?
Okay.
from there we went into a giant group of switch to games starting with Tokyo Scramble
Tokyo Scramble an interesting one a mysterious and challenging survival puzzle action game set
deep beneath Japan coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch to you're in a train accident you go
into an undercover world four players can control the one character it does not look good
but it's coming out February 11th dude this looks so rough man I
Part of me was hoping that this was the type of game that is, you know,
looking amazing on the other platforms or whatever.
And here it's just like kind of dialed down.
But man, it's just this game looked the most rough the most times with so many of the
shots that are popping up and you're like, man, you just can't even put a little light source
in there.
It's just really, really rough looking.
Yeah, not a, not a positive showing for this one.
This game releases in six days.
And I can make you a promise that I'm going to play this game one time for the lulls.
Thank you.
It's just simply for the lulls.
And that will be.
You got to make Nick play it with it.
But like, if I can put a day on this calendar for me and Nick to try it, we will.
But like, this is one of those games you see.
And Andy starts hemming and hawn.
And then I go, there are people that review this.
And we don't go, we don't got an Andy in the room that goes, hey, Mike, doesn't look good here.
Can you change that trailer?
And I go, let's change that right away.
Oh, God.
Like, what is that, bro?
the whole middle and a half and it's like,
you're showing your hard work,
you're showing your game,
we can't be putting it out like that.
Yeah, and it's,
I don't know,
this,
I just wish that whenever
devs are working on games
that are trying to go for a realism look,
like you have to be really self-aware
that your game has to,
there are other art styles you can sort of take
and other art directions you could take
that can make the most out of the hardware you're using.
And if you don't have the,
if you don't got the horsepower to push these visuals,
then it's going to look really, really bad
when you're trying, when your character looks as real as they do.
Yeah.
But then when everything else sort of falls around it,
it just looks like a weird, like there's something's off here, you know.
Now, what about the lows of four player, though?
Like, let's circle back.
Like, that's an interesting one.
What are the fucking calls?
Oh, Kevin can.
Oh, I don't know.
Kevin, yeah, if you can scrub to the very end
when they're talking about game sharing all that,
that's an insane idea.
It's so small, though, I see you.
Yeah.
Like one person's running, like, there is.
That's it right there, Kevin.
You got boom, pause.
One person's doing movement.
One's doing action.
One's doing the apps and one's doing the camera.
Insane.
And the camera alone is insane.
I'm like, imagine you're playing a game of someone else is spinning the fucking stick around here.
Like this is a switch too exclusive.
This is a switch to exclusive.
This wasn't something that was put out on other platforms to look.
And it looked great there.
But they got to pare it down for the switch.
No, this is like only on the switch.
They've only ever seen this version of it.
Like, there's just like a, we got to be honest with ourselves and go, man, this needs way more time or is this just something you're putting out next week because, hey, we need some funding back for the next game.
Like, I look at this game.
I'm like, I couldn't recommend this to anybody.
I think I start to wonder about curation for Nintendo specifically of like, you're putting out these directs that are going to filter out to, I won't say the bulk of your audience because not everybody watches the.
directs, but like your most hardcore audience is going to watch this, and you're hoping it that
hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views and eyes end up on this thing.
What is the conversation there as far as what gets included and what doesn't get included?
Because I think that becomes my beef more so with a direct like this versus other
showcases where I'm like, I feel like there's so much downtime of games where it's, I'm not,
I'm not going to say nobody's going to play this, but most people watching do not care about this.
In fact, see this and start to think less of the overall thing.
And we also have to kind of understand.
understand that like if you bring up the trailer again Kevin
the switch to hardware
is a little bit more powerful than the launch
PS4 with and there's a lot of like
optimization there's a lot of like advancements that have been
done to the chipset this it's a capable machine man
and like if you put out a game that looks like this
on a launch PS4 or whatever or you know like
yeah I just think of it's not
not an easy comparison, but I think of how like Uncharted 4 looked. And that was a long time ago.
That's naughty dog. That's not the best comparison. But holy shit, man. Like this, if this was also on
Switch 1, I'd go, okay, well, maybe we're seeing the Switch 1 version. Now show us the Switch 2 version.
It's just like there's no excuses to have a game in 2026 look like this when your machine is not
the Switch 1 anymore. It's the Switch 2. It's capable of more. Let's optimize a bit more. Let's
take some more time. Check all that out. It's already gone.
I think, but yeah, front and center on the e-shop
when you drop, there it is.
You got Mario Bundle, you got Mario Tennis, you got Tokyo Scramble
and Final Fantasy rebirth.
And this is even like the worst part of the game, man.
But like, what's happening here?
Is it clipping through her?
That's like, it's going to eat her.
But like, it doesn't bite her.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, I don't know, man.
It, like, I think it clipped through her.
Oh, man.
And I'm pretty sure that these are the devs that made the Ender Lillies
and Ender Magnolia game.
And those are all.
awesome Metroidvania's, unless it's like a publisher type thing where it's like half
studios working on this or whatever. But it's just, it's just a rough sort of thing to show
off when it's only on Switch 2. Yeah, that one sucks. You hate to see it. Develop. So,
okay, so the publisher, Binary Hayes Interactive, developer is Ad Globe Incorporate. Okay, okay.
Is that who they were? No, I looked up binary Hayes and all I saw was the Ender
Lilies and Ender Magnolia
franchises. So I assumed it was a publisher.
Oh, no, according to this,
for Ender Lillies, it is
binary Hayses publisher, developer, Ad Globe
Incorporate. Okay, gotcha, gotcha.
I'll tell you, add Globe Incorporate doesn't inspire
confidence. I hear that on anything.
Anyways, from there, we moved on
to Valheim, a survival game
you boys have loved to be caught for.
Become one of Odin's chosen warriors and survive
the monster infested realm
realm to earn your place in the halls with
the world-renowned Viking exploration
game Valheim. Players can brave the adventure alone
or with up to nine friends online to discover a beautiful,
procedurally generated world of land and sea,
fully optimized from the Nintendo Switch 2,
including the support for JoyCon 2 mouse functionality
in HD Rumble 2.
Players can build mighty Viking halls,
create new gear,
or cook meals to prepare for mighty skirmishes to come.
It will come this year in 2026.
Yeah, this is a big announcement.
This is a top 10 survival crafting game,
and it's probably not 5 through 10.
It's probably up in the top half there.
10 player online is open.
always fun. The big catch about this is like you're getting almost the ultimate edition of
Valheim when you think about it. Right. Like these games come out early access on PC. They sit there for
months, years. They continue to iterate. They continue to add on and workshop and get better and
better. And now it comes to your console here on Nintendo Switch. This is a big announcement.
This is a really fun one. I think it will find a really good home on Switch on this one.
Yeah. This is a, yeah, Mike kind of just nailed all of it. It's a game that's kind of
still in early access, I believe.
I don't know if it's fully hit 1.0 yet,
but they've had a shitload of updates.
The game's been in development for a long time,
you know,
constantly talking to fan base,
or their fan base and improving it where it needs to be improved.
But it's an awesome little, very lo-fi-looking,
procedurally generated survival game with cool mechanics,
awesome building.
Combat's great.
When we talk about, you know, how the archery works
and how you could also just do melee if you want,
and you have your little parry,
you have your Dodge Roll.
And it's not,
I think my favorite thing about it is how it's not one of these aimless survival games.
Yeah.
It's not a,
one of these aimless survival games,
or you hop in and you go,
okay, but like,
what am I doing all this for?
There are,
there's a very good structure to it of there are these like six or eight really
big beings that you have to do,
these forest spirits,
whatever they are,
and you have to gather the stuff in order to summon them,
and then the big boss fight happens,
and that will progress your story.
But while you're doing that, you can also be, you know,
chopping your trees, building your buildings and all sorts of stuff,
kicking Mike out of your house.
Who puts the beehive in front of my house?
Yeah.
This is a good one.
Nick got really mad at Mike because Nick was in the top.
Nick didn't want to build a house, so Nick was in the top floor of Mike's house.
But the campfire kept killing him because the smoke would rise to the top of the top floor
and he kept dying.
It's happening on this trailer right there.
He was getting really pissed off him.
It was a great time.
This game was awesome with friends.
This is one of those.
I saw it in the chat.
There are so many of these games and there are.
And myself and Andy have played a number of them.
And I'm being real with you,
this is a top five in the Bible crafting game.
This is one of the better ones.
So if you're looking to dabble or try
or you've already played it like so many of you had,
this is the one to jump into.
There's a number we would recommend and this one would be on that.
I've been doing some Googling.
Obviously, this is breaking news with it coming here.
I can't find anything.
about cross save, but I guess Xbox to PC supports cross save or vice versa.
So hopefully you'd have whatever your Valhame account is and be able to bring over what you've
done and go from there.
After Valheim, it was Hollow Night Nintendo Switch 2 edition.
Time to forge your own path, explore twisting caverns, battle tainted creatures,
and solve ancient mysteries at the kingdom's heart, all from the comfort of your Nintendo
Switch 2.
With higher resolution, improved frame rates and additional effects,
Holo Night Nintendo Switch 2 addition lets players experience a classically styled
2D action adventure set across a vast interconnected world.
Hollow Night Nintendo Switch 2 edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 today.
People who already bought it on the original Nintendo Switch
Switch can upgrade the Nintendo Switch 2 edition for free with the upgrade pack.
What you want to hear, great job, Team Cherry.
Yeah, awesome stuff.
You know, when the game was on Switch 1, obviously you're playing 720 in handheld,
and I think it went up to 1080P docked.
But yeah, you're getting the full up.
upresed version of it with the upresed assets.
It's not just a, let's scale it up.
You're getting, you know, the way the game is played best, you know, because they put
out that big patch recently, which also let you play ultra widescreen, which is kind
of part of this whole effort to, hey, let's modernize it a bit more and let's, you know,
get players with newer devices in their hands looking at our old game the best way possible.
Anybody going to go back to it?
I'm always eyeing it down.
Yeah, I think I'm the one on the table who has it.
played these two games, right?
So it's like one day I'll jump into it.
I don't know if the Switch version is going to be my ideal way,
but one day I'll jump into it.
From there, we moved into E football kickoff.
It's coming in summer,
2026.
Experience the passion.
You weren't happy about it.
Well, no, because E-flipal sucks.
Well,
that's why I wasn't happy about it.
Well, I don't think we got FIFA on Switch yet.
So I'm always a fan of like, on my old Switch,
I want the Madins, I want the FIFAs,
I want the MBAs, right?
So, like, I always have a massive push for my shout to the
Vita back in the day, Greg?
I want sports games on my handheld.
So anytime we can take a step
towards getting more sports games
that are the normal sports games we play at home,
I'm all about that, right? I think EASC is on Switch.
You think so? I'm pretty sure.
But it was the thing. I remember I Jen reviewing it every year
and they would give it the same review because they're like
EA just copied and pasted it. And so we're
just going to copy and paste a review. I don't know if
it's still like that. The AFC is on
Switch. There is a Switch 2 version of 26
as well. Do we ever have faith that this
finally gives them a run for their money? No.
never once
no I used to
back during the prime
pro evolution soccer days
there was a time
where pro evolution soccer
was on top
that was the number one
and then towards
I want to say
maybe beginning
of PS4 era
maybe like late
PS3 Xbox 360 era
pro-evo just started
to losing their way
and they rebranded
to e football
went free to play
the games only got worse
from there
yeah and now we're
we're here with it
okay
I just keep watching
this Tokyo scramble trailer
just don't stop
stop watching it
instead let's let's
Watch the trailer for the Adventures of Elliot the Millennium Tales embark on a perilous
journey to lift a curse and save a kingdom, a journey that will unfold across four ages
in the Adventures of Elliot Millennium Tales.
In this new single player action RPG from the team behind Octopath Traveler, players
will control Elliot, the adventurer and his fairy companion, Fay, to experience a gripping
tail full of action, exploration, and heart.
With seven weapon types to wield, customizable magocyte upgrades to experiment with and Faye's
powerful fairy actions,
players can begin their journey
when the Adventures of Elliot
and One of Emunniam Tales launches
on Nintendo Switch 2, June 18th.
I can't wait.
Yeah, same bunch of nice things about it.
I mean, it looks great.
This is a great trailer for it.
I looked it up on my fantasy critic.
My only trepidation is that
we know you do.
We can talk about how you have it.
He had a different hat.
My only trepidation is that Andy I know
didn't love the demo.
Um,
I mean,
it was mainly just how the combat felt.
It felt very much like kind of old school Zelda where you just tap the X button and you just kind of like hit the sweet of sword.
And I was hoping for a bit more there, but it obviously art style looks amazing.
And I know I'm going to get JRP'd here.
You all crushed it.
Like when you all made that prediction that when I counterpicked it, you all were like, Andy, you're going to get JRP'd.
Because this game's going to come out and get like an 89.
And that's probably going to happen because I think the game does look really awesome.
I just, you know, based on that demo, it wasn't giving me the most amount of confidence.
Yeah.
Okay.
Fair enough.
I can't wait.
Obviously, quite the pedigree.
Looks awesome.
This is the one I think I'm going to hop into as well.
Live Alive was the last one of these that I really saw all the way through and beat.
I think because of the combat system, I really want to see this one through.
It looks amazing.
Fair enough.
From there, it was the Super Bomber Man Collection, and Mike lost his mind.
I think this drops today, right?
So, yeah.
Yeah, it launches on NintendoSwitch.
Today.
This is one of those fun ones of like when you see a game that you identify with that,
you get excited for and you hear it comes out today.
It's like, hell yeah, that's what I wanted, right?
And yeah, Bomberman's always hold a little place in my heart of like,
I've played some and I've always enjoyed it.
I'm not the biggest bomber man guy, but I like this.
I enjoy this.
And so I'm going to get this.
Of course, it's going to be a collection featuring seven titles with 12 versions,
including previously unreleased localized versions of Bomberman 4.
and Super Bomberman 5,
including Boss Rush Mode, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah.
I'm glad you're excited, Mike.
Yeah.
From there, it was Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming out.
Finally getting a date, too, for this version.
You can play Final Fantasy 7 rebirth on June 3rd.
Oh, yeah.
You know, this was, because I knew Final Fantasy 7 remake, of course,
has been the talk of the town for the Switch 2 in the last half year.
Yeah.
Did we already know rebirth was coming?
I forgot whether or not they announced that.
I can't remember if it was an official announcement,
or it was the usual we just all like,
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I was going to make it up quick.
Because they could have been,
maybe they were like,
oh, yeah,
and all the Final Fantasy games are coming,
whatever.
But this one caught me off guard.
I guess,
but I don't think we've seen
in gameplay at the very least.
Looks good.
I feel like remake,
when we've seen that at like a Pax or whatever,
remake looks so good.
And of course,
I'd be realistic.
This is the Switch 2 that is running on.
And so as I watched this trailer,
I'm like,
ah,
this looks more foggy than I wanted to look.
But it's still Final Fantasy 7 rebirth,
so that's awesome.
Yeah, you're definitely right.
I was just of the mind
that we already knew
was happening.
Yeah.
And yeah,
so this being a brand new announcement is really cool,
and that's kind of a big announcement,
but I,
because they are older titles,
I just always sort of mix them up with,
with remake and,
uh,
and rebirth.
Fair enough.

did you see that coming of course you can get it on april 24th the demo is available today
explore the all new science fiction action adventure from capcom set in the near future space fair
hugh williams and android diana must escape a lunar research station and find their way back to
earth we've previewed this since sgf i've talked about the hacking and this and the other and
we've all played at different places and done stuff blessing you went and played and
I played it on Switch 2.
Yes, I played it on Switch 2.
And this might be one where we might have to bring up the Resident Evil Requiem discussion.
I know that's later in the show.
Fuck it.
We can do whatever we want.
Tim's dead.
Okay, don't worry about it.
RIP.
We also saw, of course, Res Evil Requiem coming out on February 27th.
There's going to be a pro-controller and Grace and Leon Amoebo is coming later.
That was more of the news than anything else about that.
Thank you, Roger.
Thank you, Roger.
Yeah, the reason I wanted to bring up Resident Evil is because I played both of them back-to-back.
like I mentioned before, went to New York, went to the Nintendo event,
and they had stations set up with a handful of different games that they have coming out this year.
And kind of next to each other, like kind of across the way from each other,
were Pragmata and Reson Evil, Requiem.
I started off with Reson Evil Requiem between the two.
Sat down, played it on TV.
The demo that we played was the same devil, I believe a lot of people in the press have played.
It was one that they showed around Gamescom time last year.
No, Mike played a two-hour demo.
Yeah, like two to three hours, yeah.
This is the one that me and Tim played.
It's more of a 20-minute one.
You're playing as Grace Ashcroft.
I believe it's the beginning of the game when you first,
you know, you like wake up,
you take like an IV out of yourself.
You have to like find the light and then you run into this big,
scary ass beast that's coming after you.
Oh, okay.
And I played the demo two more times.
I played it once at the Gamescom event.
I played it two more times at Nintendo because I enjoy the demo that much.
And also because I wanted to play it on.
on TV and then play it on the handheld.
On TV,
looked great, right?
Ran great.
I was very,
very impressed by the way this game looks both,
just in terms of how it runs frame rate wise,
but then also just visuals,
looks beautiful.
I would describe it on TV as perfectly recommendable.
And then I moved on to the handheld,
and that's where I was like,
oh, this is fantastic.
This game, if you are somebody with a Switch 2
and you're thinking about maybe playing this game on Switch 2,
I could not recommend it more.
lighting look fantastic frame rate smooth as hell
I'm not good at eyeing frame rates but I'll say it felt like 60
you know like it it was way smoother than I would have expected it to be
on this system felt perfectly optimized now I wanted to bring this up
in relation to Pragata because then I went on to Pragata and had the opposite
cranes and I was absolutely shocked because I'm like both these are Capcom
big AAA games that are coming out this year of course Resident Evil is Resident Evil so it's bigger
but, you know, hopping into Pregmata,
it was a similar thing.
This was very close to the demo that I played,
I think also around GamesCom time.
It's probably the same demo that's available.
I was going to say,
I'm going to download the demo right now.
That's a good point.
Yes, like the one that we've all played.
I can't.
So hopped in there,
went through the same sort of sequence
that I played before
where you get into combat
and you're looking for the things
to unlock the door.
And it runs fine.
It's like, it's recommendable enough
if Switch is,
the place you like to play games or the one of the only places you can play games. Hey, I would say
Pragmata, playable, ran smooth enough. It just didn't, it didn't live up to like how well
Reson Eval ran for me, right? Like there are moments of gameplay where I'm like, oh man, the frame rate's
kind of dipping here. The resolution is not living up, especially in places where there was a lot
of action going on, where it felt like frame rate was getting down to like 30 and maybe even
sub 30. And I played a little bit of it on the handheld. I played a little bit of the TV. And yeah,
didn't look as great.
But also, I'm not going to say it looked awful by any means.
You know what I mean?
Again, if you're somebody who likes to play on Switch 2, you can make it happen here.
But I was let down by it, especially compared to how well Reson Evil looked.
I feel like they can maybe get it down a little bit better because one thing I was really
impressed with playing Pragata.
I mean, the word is pragmatic.
So it does kind of make sense.
Pragmatic.
Yeah, but I don't care.
And the Nvidia guy said Pragmatta as well.
Webster wrote it down.
and then I can just say it how I want
and that's how it is
but is a word
well no but stigma out of it
nice
that's where you get the Jesus
holes in your hands and feed everybody
I didn't remember that movie
I remember that movie
I'll tell you as a kid trapped in Catholic school
you're like that's cool
you gotta grab on to what you can grab on
you're like that's cool
you could get stigma
you can have Jesus holes
the
wow
that's a wild way
I will say playing
playing the game on PC
and playing other
RE engine games on PC
I'm always led down by how they look and run
because they're rarely optimized very well for PC
but the Pragmata demo looked and ran amazingly on PC
so I was like oh shit maybe we've turned a corner
you know maybe we're leaving Monster Hunter Wilds issues in the past
maybe we're leaving freaking Dragon's Dogma 2 issues in the past
and we're getting better at optimization
so there's a chance that when the game fully comes out
it might have a really big improvement, I hope.
I hope so.
Because I was very shocked by how high I had the settings on for being a demo
and how the frame rate was just like, I was getting like 100-something frames.
It was really, really impressive.
That said, replaying both of these demos, damn, there's going to be some good games.
Resident Evil especially, I can play that demo a hundred times.
It's so crazy how good that 20-minute portion of the opening of the game is.
Pragmata.
I wrote down in my notes, it feels like a Focus M-ass game.
I don't know if you guys remember the focus M meme that was making this rounds a month ago.
Focus him.
It kind of had a little bit of that energy, but I fuck with it.
It was one of those ones where it's like, you know, the, what's her name?
The girl, Diana.
Yeah, Diana, like, said something of like, you know, I forget exactly.
It was like a tutorial kind of thing of, oh, they're coming.
We got to fight them or something like that.
And I was like, you know what?
Oh, it's a new heck of hacking.
Yeah.
You know, let's do it.
You know, I am all for it at 10 to 12 hours.
Yeah.
I'm all for it at eight.
Oh, you know what I mean?
Like, this seems like that kind, I don't know.
I've said in my previews and talks about this of like, let's get,
show me something beyond the space station or don't, and that's a big surprise.
But it's like, don't, I don't feel like I'm going to love this for 30 hours.
Let's, you're a, yeah.
This is a 15 plus hour game.
It's probably.
I'm in.
Overstaying, it's welcome, I would say.
Yeah.
I don't want it to be around the 20-ish hour mark.
I want to see how the gameplay stuff with the hacking develops,
because for some of what we saw in that trailer where he busted out like an area of a
That shit looks awesome.
If they can give me enough variance with that,
you might be able to push it to 15.
15, 20 for me.
Now, you guys are going to play Resident Evil a fun way.
Can we tell the audience?
Sure.
What are you guys going to do at the end of the month?
Yeah, you can tell you and Rogers make us do shit.
Me and Blessing are going to be doing a big old
marathon stream playing through Resident Evil Requiem for the first time.
February 27, that's launch day.
Friday 27 launch day.
Yeah, I'm just not.
It's my birthday month.
I don't know why you would fucking do this.
It's a Saturday.
You're gonna have me be in the office
possibly on a Saturday if they push us that far.
Yeah, yeah.
You know?
Fucking stupid shit.
And it's like,
I like to sleep.
You know?
By 9.30 p.m.
if I'm not under my blankets,
I'm cranky.
Yeah.
And so you're going to have me do that.
You're playing volleyball.
845.
It's going to be happy.
You know?
These fucking monsters that are scaring me.
I don't know.
I love that he's falling in love with all.
I love that Bless can also just be like,
all right,
streams over.
Fucking 12,
second drive home.
Meanwhile, I got a fucking D-O.
Like, I'm just not looking forward
to this whole experience.
You're gonna have a great time.
It'll be fun.
I'm gonna make Andy play the scary parts.
I want you to platinum it.
That's my thing.
Go through and get every achievement.
I like that.
I hope that they run you that long on it.
I want you to shut your ass.
Andy, you are down to play the...
Shut my ass.
Andy, you're down to play the grace parts
and I can play the Leon parts, right?
That's fun.
A keyboard mouse.
I'm a shooter, dude.
I mean, shooter is grace.
You know?
She ain't doing shit.
You can do first person?
Leon's action.
action guy. Yeah, I mean, I'll be the action guy.
I don't know why you're turning around the original
plan. You hold down, you hold on grace.
How much do you love this demo? You love this
demo so much. You can play through it all the time.
But yeah, I just got demo, though. Because I know what the demo is.
I know what it's scary.
Yeah, the first time I played that demo, the amount
of Yelps out in the preview room,
it was not fun. Get ready for more of that.
Hold on me. For some reason,
the Pragata demo is asking my age.
Well, they're probably going to hit you with a little
special. Is the age you entered, correct? This one
not affect gameplay, but it cannot be changed
later. Diana will whisper
in your on your birthday.
Yeah.
This is what I'm left the marriage on stream.
I want to, I want a wheel that decides
who plays who on like what chat.
Like periodically.
Or maybe you do a chat thing.
I was going to say chat.
If you super chat, if you super chat
force is first person mode.
I would just say sub goal, you have to play
the whole game in first person mode.
No, I don't know about the whole game.
It's terrifying.
Yeah.
Third person mode, that's a cheat code.
Not be scared.
First person mode.
You're complaining about having a watch
two episodes of Fallout.
I'm having to do this bullshit.
All the best fallouts are in third person.
Or not fallout, sorry.
All the best Resident Evil's are in third person.
I agree.
Just think about that chat.
Oh.
Bored mouse.
I guess also the best of a lot.
Okay.
Did you have any, did you try mouse controls on Pragata?
No, I didn't get to do that.
We always talk about it.
Do they have that?
Mouse controls with the switch too,
but then like you guys.
Okay.
So first thing, yeah,
is like,
why do I have panorax?
Like, why is it so blurry?
Yeah.
What are we doing?
I didn't realize the demo was on Switch.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Today.
Let me see this.
Oh, okay, yeah.
Yeah.
It's crushed.
Everything's crushed.
So, yeah, you'll see what I'm saying.
So yeah.
So on this 1080p screen, we're probably looking at like a 540P.
So yeah, you guys can go and download Precmod on the Switch 2 right now to see what I'm talking about.
But Resn Evil looks better.
So keep that in mind.
No, this is probably.
This is 720P upresd.
Probably.
As you know, I'm currently in my era of Switch 2.
It's all I've played in 2026 with the exception of Skate, what up?
Which wasn't there today.
Huge disappointment.
Should I do Resident Evil on Switch?
Just to fucking.
Spread it all out.
Yeah.
You think so?
I think so, yeah.
Keep them on the Switch.
And maybe it's less than 10.
I mean, how much do you care about graphics?
I mean, I care enough.
It's more trophies.
It'd be cool to get some trophies off that.
Because that'd be a, it would be a, my thing is I don't see, you know, I love the switch
because I love handheld gaming in bed, right?
And I don't see Resident Evil being that.
That's not a, hey, I'm going to bed with, you know, Jen's going to bed.
I'm going to bed early.
I'm going to lay next to her and play Resident Evil.
I feel like it's a big one at which point if I'm docking the thing every time,
I feel like I just rock it with a PlayStation.
But for content, I don't want to mind playing a Switch.
I mean for content, I think you can go for it.
Tim is dead. I'm the new voice.
I think emotion controls, though.
No, I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that.
From Pragata slash pragmatic slash brab,
we went to Turak Origins.
Face off against ferocious dinosaurs and an alien threat
when Turuk Origins comes in Nintendo Switch 2.
Embark on an Inplanetary quest for a superpower to turn the tides of war,
either solo or as a team of warriors online.
It will come this fall.
Sabre is publishing, of course, coming to everything as well.
But this is our first actual look at the gameplay if we get the trailer up for that.
Andy, what did you think?
Are you a Tarak person?
No, not at all.
I mean, back in the day, yeah, because you just didn't have a whole lot of games.
I remember renting Tarak a couple times for my, for my aunts Nintendo 64, because I didn't have one.
But I was really impressed by the visual quality.
I don't know.
I don't think I love like the art direction necessarily that.
The characters look kind of, you know, funky here and there.
But I like it because it looks like they're going for like a futuristic cyberpunk,
Native American, you know what I mean?
Like I look at this and I'm like, oh, this kind of looks like what I think Horizon wants to look like.
Except Horizon just looks like a bunch of white people running around.
Yeah.
Native American God.
Where is this?
Hey, Clark.
Did you get that?
Yeah.
I mean, I'm not that person, but I mean, it looks like I could see like a Mayan influence here or something like that.
Like even this stuff.
you're like yeah i think i think visually like it's super impressive looking i think the compared to a lot
of the other stuff that we saw and reminds me a bit of you know the way doom looks and runs on
switch like whenever they get the id engine looking good and running uh good on on nintendo devices
i thought visually that was the most impressive one now that's probably switch exclusive right
which origins like no we weren't we saw that somewhere it's got a steam page up right now yeah
I was kind of caught off guard because I don't remember seeing this.
I remember knowing they were making a new tariff.
Okay, well, then George says it's launching this fall on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and pieces.
Okay, well, maybe that trailer wasn't for played on Nintendo Switch.
It looked like a little too good.
Oh, in 2020.
Yeah, Game Awards, 2024.
It had a cinematic trailer.
Okay, okay.
Yeah, this was the first time I had seen gameplay then.
Yeah.
So it's kind of caught off guard.
But I'm looking forward to this.
Like you said, Sabre is finding their stride.
They know what they want to be.
And they're really nailing those games.
and Turak, everyone knows Turak, right?
It's dinosaurs with guns, and you're going to have a good time with that.
And so hopefully with friends, this will make for a really fun experience.
I'm looking forward to it.
Yeah, that'll be good streams, I bet.
You guys know some dinosaurs or as they call them Zins or whatever.
Zenos, whatever.
All right, whatever we're doing out there.
Fall 2026.
From there, we rolled into Kyoto Zanadu, set in an alternate reality where Kyoto is the capital of Japan.
Kyoto Zanadu players take on monsters and mystery.
coming from the great labyrinth known as Zanidu.
As a student, players will challenge the labyrinth
and grow through their battles within Zanadu
while also deepening bonds with various people
during your daily life.
Uncover the truth hidden by both the labyrinth
and Kyoto itself when Kyoto Zanadu launches on Nintendo Switch 2
and Nintendo Switch this summer.
Clearly inspired by persona.
But it doesn't stop me from looking at it and going,
I love persona setup.
This side scrolling, we're running,
around beating things up and then jumping into
third person
action RPG combat. I'm like, damn,
fuck, this might have something I want to get
into less. Yeah, this looks cool.
It doesn't speak to me as strongly, but I got
respect for it. You know, like, it's inspired.
You know, when they first started the trailer, yeah, I mentioned the persona
thing and then the more we saw gameplay, I was like, oh, you know what?
I take it back. Like, obviously, like you said, there's some
things there, but it's doing its own thing.
and it seems really interesting, you know.
I wanted to watch for sure.
Want to watch.
I would say this is one of the surprise games of the show.
Yeah.
I think it's doing a lot, and I think that's what catches your eye of like,
oh, I know all these kind of touchstones to it.
I'm interested in that.
Oh, man, they're doing the weird side-scrolling.
Now they're doing a third-person hacking slash boss fight.
Like, I'm into that.
Like, yeah, this was one of the three big games of the show for me.
It could end up being a master of none situation.
Yeah.
But I thought initially the,
It was just going to be this 2D thing.
The 3D thing kind of like threw me off a bit.
And then we see that whenever you're kind of exploring around the school or whatever you are back in 2D mode.
But there's also like 2D combat.
We'll see how they differentiate it if it makes sense or if it's cohesive at all.
Looking at it and for me being like, oh, that's one to watch excitement for it.
It speaks a lot to what we did with 2 to 51 this week where Romeo is a dead man, right?
You play that and then you see the action part of you're like, sure.
but then the comic book cuts, he's like, okay, and then to go to the hub world, that's just like
2D, 8, like, what the fuck? And there's all these mini games. It's like, man, that clearly has
character and style, and I want to know more about that. And so that's when I go out, I want
to know more about that. You know what? In the super chats right now, Alvaran, oh, I should
expose it all the way. Not expose it. Don't expose myself.
Alvaran CN 7996 says, Kyoto Xandu is a really old series from Zandadu,
developed by Nihon Falcom. Get it on Fantasy Mike.
I'm already filled up, but one of these guys can take it.
EJRP says Falcom also does the Yees and Legends of Hero trails games as well as games like this game, Tokyo's.
I do love seeing the Falcom logo.
Like it does feel like a nice throwback of like, man, I haven't seen this in a while.
Yeah.
From there, Ignacio Rojas's favorite game, Digimon Story Time Strangers was announced for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Of course, coming on July 10th with quality or performance modes.
Is this anybody's time to jump in?
excellent thank you so much
it's one of those like again i hear people say i would like it
and i should do it but i don't know man like it just doesn't seem i like
i like Pokemon now i like Pokemon and so i feel like I have one
room in my heart for one you know room like with one
and when they're not Pokemon that's the thing that like
you know would i love for someone to mod
all of the Pokemon to replace Agumon and wargrimmon
and you know as sick and badass as Digimon can look
it's still just not a Pokemon to me.
Yeah, yeah, you're too close to it.
Over here in the chats, Professor White T.
did say, Greg, would you be more interest in Digimon
if I told you there was a monster hunter, Digivice?
No, I get actually kind of angry when you say Digivice.
That makes me...
The way it rolls off the tongue?
I mean, what does that fucking mean?
Digivize?
It's a Monster Hunter Digivice?
So am I throwing out a digital device that makes a digital monster to fight?
Or am I throwing out a trap, a ghost trap?
At which point you should have left off the monster?
I don't know what we're talking about right now.
And I don't want to know.
I said I don't want to know, Andy.
He's lost.
Delete everything you're writing there.
I'm typing.
I'm looking at up for,
I'm watching gameplay of the original Zanidu.
It's wild.
Okay.
It's a 1985,
8-bit game that, like, is kind of a dungeon crawler,
but then it also does other weird things.
Good for them for bringing this back.
Grand Blue Fantasy Relink.
Endless Ragnarok was next.
Embark on an epic journey in the sky realm.
this visually stunning action RPG.
Players will journey alongside a diverse cast of allies,
exploring breathtaking floating islands and battling powerful foes.
With over 20 playable characters,
up to four people can team up locally or online for multiplayer action
when Grand Blue Fantasy Relink Endless Ragnarok launches on Switch to July 9th.
Mike, you said maybe, this is a maybe you touched on there.
I like the look of this.
Can I say something crazy?
Tell me.
I like the look of this too.
This strikes like a game.
you and me could get into. Greg, I would try this with you
because you know what I'm going to play this weekend,
bless. Yeah? It's finally time.
What's that? Ark Knights Enfield.
Whoa.
I'm ready to get my toe in. And this game
kind of gave me those vibes with the
you know, select your character. Oh, there's
four of them on the screen. All attacking
these big baddies, I'm in. I would try
this with you, Greg. I would definitely. I mean,
Green Blue Fantasy has been around for a hot second.
And I'm pretty sure it's one of the big ones when you talk about
this sort of category of video game.
Like they've had a million spinoffs.
I played the fighting game,
Graham Blue Fantasy versus,
and I really enjoy it.
And so,
see, that was the spinoff.
I always thought that was the core.
No.
I would have told you this was the spinoff
and the fighting game was the real game.
You learn something new every day here.
Maybe you're thinking Blaze Blue.
Blas blue.
So I do that because Clements,
I'm that old that I remember Ryan Clements
reviewing those.
Maybe you're thinking DNF.
I don't know what that is.
Dutch and Fighters online.
Oh, no, I wasn't thinking of that.
I definitely wasn't thinking of that.
Don't worry about me.
From there, we moved into Monster Hunter Stories 3.
You got a new trailer.
There's a demo today.
March 13th is the go day for this one,
which we've known for a while, of course.
Embark on a brand new journey as you ride into the next adventure
in Capcom's turn-based RPG series.
Players step into a world where natural order has collapsed.
Monsters face extinction and a mysterious elder dragon stands between you and the truth.
Befriend and raise monsties and unlock powerful abilities
through the right of channeling and habitat restoration.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 launches on Nintendo Switch
March 13th.
I've played them before. You know I'm a
Monster Hunter guy. Yeah, I think it was Stories 2.
If I didn't even Stories 1, maybe I did a preview, stories
1. Stories 2, I had a review build and put
hours into, and I didn't hate it.
It just, none of the characters grabbed me enough where I was like,
I want to sit around and invest this. Is this a Pokemon
like? Monsties,
is this turn-based? It's turn-based.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's the one I'm thinking
of when we played on the Switch? That's just a Monster
World Spinner? Your Rise.
Rise. Right on a Rise.
Which was initially the Switch exclusive.
Exactly.
Yes, yes.
Because I remember that one.
I was playing that.
Then we talk about stories.
I'm like,
I don't even know what stories is.
Okay.
Yeah,
it's one of their sort of spin-off franchises.
And I just,
I've never liked the word Monstie, man.
No, I don't like that.
Monsties either.
No,
it's not keeping me from playing it.
I just don't, you know,
it's just kind of.
It could, though.
I would understand if it did.
Okay.
I like the demo.
I love that.
It's like demo out now.
It's like I add that to my best.
Yeah, Hobbit in.
And it's also,
You know, what you want out of a term-based RPG, a big RPG, right?
Progress carries over.
So jump in.
If you get the bug and you get bit by it, right, you can stick around and hang out for it longer.
Do people love these ones?
They do.
Yeah, people are.
And they're always saying, Greg, you should come back to this.
You should try this one.
Maybe this is the one.
Maybe this is the one.
I'm going to download the demo here, and I will see if it is one I stick.
Them on PC as well, Mike.
Get out of town, really.
Nice.
From there, Arcade Archives is adding
Dda-da-da-da-da-d-d-d-d-d-racer on February 26th.
down the line. It's going to add a bunch of other things.
It's good. At console archives is coming. It's going to be Doraman, Sonic Wings special, and more.
Then, cool borders and Ninja Godin 2, the Dark Sword of Chaos, are out today as well.
I got a call time out. Thank you.
What the fuck is this?
Yeah.
Okay. Not the games. Is this like my Nintendo Switch online thing?
It is not. Where is this going?
It's not. That's what I...
The way they presented it looked like it would be...
It's joining the Nintendo online catalog.
Like it's just a
Like
This was just a big
Miss of a director
Arcade Archives
Has been on Switch
Since like the launch of Switch
I don't
I never really fully understood it
It's a collection of games
That are retro games
Like Switch online
But they came before
Switch Online
I'm pretty sure
Um
That is correct
Yeah there are ways
There it was basically a way
To buy these retro games
Not from Nintendo
Right
Like these other third party
Developers that put out
these retro games
From them
I need to look up
What Company does it
But yeah
I think
console archives is just
So it's just a hamster corporation.
Thank you.
And published by also
SNK.
You download this app on my Nintendo Switch
and then I buy games through that app.
No, you just buy,
I'm pretty sure if you just look.
Is it like a rare replay situation?
Like that's what I'm doing.
I don't think so.
I think if you go to the Switch store
and you look up one of these games,
it'll just be like Ridge Racer Dash
arcade archives.
See, there you go.
Arcade Archives too.
Top speed.
Arcade Archives top speed.
How much?
It's just $9, 10 bucks for that one.
$8 for this one.
What?
Yeah.
People love old games.
Here's bomb jack twin.
How could we forget?
Arcade Archives.
I love cool borders,
but I'm not paying $10 for cool borders.
Honestly,
I bet you cool borders cost more.
Hold on.
I was just pointing to things on the screen.
Do you want game preservation or not?
You know what I mean?
You got to spend the money.
They're not going to do this for free.
I mean,
okay.
Okay, hold on.
Stop.
Clear your mind, Mike.
Okay.
Cool Borders is back as a console archives.
How much would you pay for it?
How much do I pay for cool borders?
What's the ceiling for cool borders?
299.
Okay.
What if I told you, I needed $10 more?
This is $11.99.
Okay.
Okay.
Damn, that would be an insane purchase.
Mike.
But if there's one person insane enough to do it.
You spend so much money on video games.
I spent a lot of money on some dumb things.
This might be one of the dumber things for sure.
Yeah. Yeah.
From there, we rolled into a montage of games coming to the Nintendo Switch platforms.
Of course, Scott Pilgrim in March, another Eden and Summer.
Reanimal on February 13th.
right around the corner.
WW2K26 in March.
Star Trek Voyager,
Disney Dreamline Valley's update on March 25th,
PGA Tour 2K25,
Cold Set Begins,
Goat Simulator 3 on April 1st,
Shadow Tactics,
Blades of the Shogun,
which Mike says,
maybe.
Maybe on that one.
Another Eden Rising just looks like
the most,
like, fake mobile game
that doesn't exist.
That one that was just showed
before this one.
It's like the little PNG characters
kind of just running around,
a little, just, oh, yeah, can we see that shadow tactics?
I don't know if Kevin can bring that up if that was stuck in the montage.
That one looks cool.
Yeah, that one I'm down for.
Oh, I think you just passed it, Kevin with the green there.
Let's see, maybe it'll pop up.
Yeah, this one was giving me ex-com vibes.
I'm coming off a tactical holiday break for 2025.
And now in 2026, I'm looking for more tactical games.
X-com is eye on my list.
I have this one looks cool.
Good news for you.
Shadow Tactics, Blades of the Shogun,
is a game you could play on PC right now.
Okay.
But don't worry, it's only been out for 10 years.
Came out December 6th, 2016.
I was going to say, I remember covering this for IGN a decade ago.
We got a switch.
Maybe there's an update, you know what I mean?
But maybe there's not.
Oh, shit.
You can go play it right now.
It's on PC, okay.
Yeah, it's on PC right now.
You're going to be four solid.
There we go.
That's easy for me.
Solid top-down kind of stealth.
Yeah.
Very positive reviews on Slit.
It looks pretty good.
Yeah, this looks lit.
Okay.
This, of course, comes out March 18th.
If you are looking for the Nintendo Switch version.
That was a cool transition in that trailer.
Good shit.
We're on top of it over here.
You know what's up?
And then Tales of Arise was the final one in the montage.
From there, of course, we rolled into Resident Evil Requiem, like we talked about,
February 27th.
A pro-control, I think the news, because we've seen all of this so much,
a pro controller themed for Reserville Requio,
with like a newspaper on the center section.
I hate that.
Oh, I did use that, by the way,
when I played Revenue.
Were you like, that's a must buy now?
You got to get it.
I mean, not a must buy, but I liked it.
I thought it looked good in person.
Holding this controller, it looked cool.
Is it a switch two controller so it has the back paddles?
Switch two, oh, that's a good.
You know what I mean?
Like the new.
It is a full controller.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Game chat button and all that jazz.
Yeah, I don't like the, I don't like the newspaper clippings.
Here's what I like.
I like that they're doing custom switch two controllers.
This, no.
no thank you no
I don't like that
we gotta buy a one
I think you guys
would like it in person
okay
I mean I like no matter
here's what I was holding it
I was like oh
I'll tell you right now
they got to send one
because I can't believe
I'm at home right now
like I gotta buy another
fucking switch two pro controller
because Ben and me
are playing so many switch two games
but then he wants the nice one
I'm using the fucking shit
switch one
I can't turn the fucking system on with it
I'm like just lie to him
and tell him the other one's better
and I couldn't do that to me
I'll never lie to that son
except every time
I tell him to go to bed
here's okay so
go wide on this one just come back
because this is just Greg talking
it's not
rare and can we get the wide shot of everybody
I'm gonna want some reactions to this
I've been using a threat
but it's been a joke threat
but I had to explain it to him
like when I initially was like
hey stop being bad or else
and he was like what does that mean and I explained it to him
and he laughed but last night
he goes daddy
if I'm bad again
will you really send me to the
coal mine.
And I said, no, I'm just joking.
You know, it's a joke.
And he goes, I don't want to go to the coal.
I'm like, no, no, no.
It's not a real thing.
I won't really send you to the coal mine.
Because I've been saying, I'll sit you to the coal mine.
He's like, what's that?
I'm like, you'll get a black lung.
You'll get a black lung.
He's like, what?
He's like, what's black lung?
I did do that.
I was like, it's one you and it's a lung.
You know, it's a lung.
And then also what's a black lung?
Anyways, and then to round it out.
During the Resident Evil Reckling
thing, I said, Kevin.
Oh, there's also Grace and Leon Amoe coming.
They look weird.
Whatever.
They'll be in the summer.
I said, Kevin, how much more is left in the presentation?
He moused over it.
And we had like a fifth that looked like left.
And I was like, oh, shit.
And then who the fuck shows up?
Todd, motherfucking Howard.
And we were like, what the fuck's about to happen?
There's this much left.
What is Todd Howard going to talk about for the Switch?
It turned out he's going to talk about fallout four anniversary edition,
coming, of course, with all six expansions on February 24th.
Indiana Jones in the Great Circle coming on March 12th,
an oblivion remastered coming in 2026.
at some point and done, direct over.
It's making any kind of showcase is such a science.
It is so much, hey, how do we keep people hype and what do we do and dot to that
to da da da.
I love Todd.
I love Bethesda games.
It's cooler coming to switch.
Undoubtedly, that's really, really cool.
This to be the last one, I'd go the opposite.
This should have opened, orbitals should have closed.
Like, hey, here, Switch, we know you, people are buying the Switch too.
Here are awesome Bethesda games that are coming to this thing because we want to be competitive, we want the great things.
And then at the end you go, hey, here's an exclusive Switch game that looks amazing, that looks like it's going to be a great time, a reason for you to have it.
I think opening with Orbitals, Orbitals is stuns.
It's a great looking game.
So much good stuff.
To end here with, hey, here's three Bethesda games that are out everywhere else.
I only agree with that if Orbitals had never been revealed yet.
Yeah.
The fact that it's a known quantity that we'd already seen it before, I think kind of ruins that.
Yeah.
Otherwise, I would have agreed.
I did see some people saying that like, man, that inner, that they felt the way I did regarding the Turok trailer going, man, this looks really, really good.
Are we sure this is like the Switch 2 trailer?
And they said they felt the same about Indiana Jones.
That is Indiana Jones on Switch 2.
That I could see where it's like not the most cutting edge shit, but it still looks really impressive, though.
Yeah, I think Orbitrals is the comfort food that we already know,
so I think it's a good welcome for the opening.
The fallout stuff or this Bethesda block is the closer, right?
But I think we wanted more there.
A Starfield announcement at the end of this would probably get a little more of a pop
than just abruptly ending after a bit of course.
The littlest of pop for me and everyone else making fun of me and this direct ending with Starfield.
Well, like it is a big deal, as you said, right?
Like knowing that the Bethesda library is coming to your swing.
which, right? Having these big titles coming.
Last year, Oblivion did stun
everybody, right? And it's a great way to get back
into an all-time classic from Bethesda.
And Indiana Jones got a lot of love and praise last, or
last year, two years ago, right? So, like,
you got three good games coming to your platform there.
You just always want more. I get it.
It's also, it's a partner showcase.
How much I really get in. I know. I know. I know.
I know. All the partners suck at making video games.
You know what I mean? Why would we look forward to great video
games for partners.
A partner showcase in February
is not a 10 out of 10 hype level
Why was there no Eldon Ring?
Why can't we expect good shit from partners?
It's your February
Showcase. Every February
Nintendo's like, hey, we're going to do a direct.
It's either going to be a regular direct where we
lay out our plans for the year or it's
going to be a partner direct. You're doing it in February
or setting the tone for the year.
I expect bigger things. That's all.
I mean, what are we missing?
Right? Eldon Ring still is a no show.
What is up with?
Eldon Ring, right? Dust Bloods, in my mind, is a June big blowout, right? So like,
Dust Bloods, you save for the biggest showcase on that one. But like, what is another
partner that you would want here to maybe pop the top on this and make it a little more hype?
Exclusive stuff, new stuff. Like, that's what we're talking about and that's what's missing here.
And as usual, if I can just, I'm sorry, uh, mob excuse says, uh, in a super chat,
we've been spoiled on graphics on PC and other platforms. I feel no reason to buy third party games.
on Switch 2 unless they're indie or exclusive
like Orbitals. I love Nintendo but this was
eh. Again like
if Nintendo and I don't even know if they want
to but if they're trying to shake what they had
with Switch 1 of like yeah this is there
and it's getting games late and nobody cares and they don't take
third party seriously this isn't the kind
of showing where you go out and you're like fuck they are here
showing up for this device and
this kind of gamer that wants
to be there by showing me more old ports
something like Resident Evil Pragata
sure okay cool
day and date let's go that's what you want to hear
but showing older stuff, a game from 2016, you know, that we're talking about.
I think granted it wasn't a montage, but a client, or I, it's like, I get serving that audience,
but the audience is so diverse.
I could feel the disappointment from Tim spiritually, you know,
because we've talked so much about how when the Switch 2 gets revealed.
Yeah, yeah.
And they're making sort of, they're making statements about third party is going to be taken
very seriously here.
We're going to put a big effort into this, and we are, like, everybody's going to,
going to be on board. And that sets an expectation. I guess you like really, really pumped up like,
oh, wow, you know, we've missed out a lot of, we miss out on a lot of that during the Switch 1 era,
but this is, it's a different time now. And like, everything's changing. And every subsequent
kind of direct since the Switch launched, we're kind of like, okay, maybe this is the one where
third party's like, hey, we're out in full four. We have the dev kits now. We're not only going to
show you that we're porting our stuff or whatever, but we're going to make this shit look good.
too because that's how
they would have looked on the PS5
or the PS4 rather you know
or I don't know it's just like it was a big
just another sort of like
fart in the wind and I'm sorry to Tim
wherever he's at I heard he had I heard
he walked in he's like
Samira I got bad news
that's how you pronounce it
I was wondering
how do you how would you pronounce it?
I thought I was either some IRA I didn't know
I didn't know either Amira yeah
well I don't know if you guys I don't know if you guys
I don't know if you guys know this.
There's no one in this office.
You should take less pronunciation advice from the Greg Miller.
All right.
Baby Sammy.
We'll say the rest of the other way.
Let's go to some superchats before we get on to Games Daily,
because that's still happening.
A jam-pack day.
Science Dog official little super chat says,
Resident Evil 7 remake looks insane on Switch 2.
There's no excuse for this game to look that bad.
Talking about what we were talking about.
Resident Evil 7 remake?
Final Fantasy 7?
in.
Oh,
fuck that up.
Did I fuck that out?
Final Fantasy.
Maybe I heard that.
Final Fantasy 7 remake.
It looks great.
Rebirth should look better than it looks like in the showing is what they were saying.
I think it's a bigger game with more stuff happening.
So maybe they aren't quite able to reach those visuals, but maybe just some more optimization
and they can hit that.
But yeah, not only did it, you obviously see the visual sort of setbacks, but like a lot of
frame drop in in that, which is always good to know that like, okay, this is a real game running
on a real hardware.
you're not faking stuff, but there was a lot more,
a lot more like, you know,
framiness and kind of choppiness than I would have expected.
Jeff Bull Jr. says,
damn, that fallout for shadow resolution.
Probably super chat about the time when Andy went,
you shit.
Yeah, I mean, no, there was a shot.
I know exactly what shot they were talking about.
It was a close-up of the character,
and you see, like, the shadow underneath the arm,
and it was like four blocks,
four very distinct blocks.
And then, yeah, oof, yeah,
like, let's do a little bit more there, man.
we can definitely push us a little bit higher.
Can we?
You'd like to think so, right?
Cabob says Orbital's is easily my game of the show, pure style.
The Palibro says Bomberman and Monster Hunter Stories 3 demo today.
Let's fucking go.
Christian says you should have done kind of funny games daily instead.
We still are.
Don't worry, everybody.
G.G. Ricky says, quick PSA on Hollow Night.
You have to go into the settings of the game to enable the higher frame rate if you want that.
Oh, cool.
Cool. Frolicious says birthday tax, but Nintendo sent an email
birthday tax, but Nintendo send an email next time.
Happy birthday, Frolicious.
Aaron Lyme wants to end on a positive note.
It says, state of play is still rumored for next week.
Maybe we'll get games that aren't ports.

Daily show. I fucked it up because I'm usually used to
saying games cast. We're going to do kind of funny games daily.
Watch that Horizon thing. Find out what's
going on with the Steam Machine and have a great
time. After that, of course, they are streaming video
games, Mikey. We're going to play World
2 of Cuphead by self-ending.
I think before that, we have an
in-review, Howard the Duck,
which was recorded live from
SF Sketch Fest, a big time
live production. All the best friends are there.
It's going to be a ton of fun. It's a great afternoon to content.
Happy birthday, Robles Racer.
On top of that, the movie
commentary for Star Wars episode two
went live on Patreon while we've been live
