What's up and welcome back to the Kind of Funny Games cast live for Monday, June 17th.
Of course, I am your host, Tim Getty's.
I am joined by the new face of video games blessing at Ae Aalje, Jr.
Good day, Tim.
And the man that designed this background that we are using for the very first time,
Andy Cortez.
I'm, it was just kind of by chance that I was like, I really should finish this soon.
Yeah.
Because, you know, I'd been pushing it off because all the other ones kind of took,
uh, priority.
We finally got it done.
We're here.
I love the Mario 64.
Has things to tell. I love the Wii you one.
And it's way darker.
It's way darker than I thought it should be, so I got to re-render it out off.
Things always turn.
They always look dark on the screen.
It's a working progress.
You know what I mean?
This is the early access.
Everybody, thank you so much for hanging out with us each and every day right here on
YouTube.com and Twitch.tv slash kind of funny games.
We do games daily.
We do games cast.
We play games.
We have a great time all together.
If you like that, you're going to love the kind of funny membership.
It gets you the shows ad free.
You can watch live as we.
We record them and you get a daily exclusive show.
Greg Way.
Today's Greg Way is about Greg wishing he was a Nintendo kid, but he is not.
Unfortunately, he was a Sega kid.
And that's a lot.
That sucks.
Yeah, it does.
It's like, can you imagine?
I know.
It's growing up loving Sonic.
That is the saddest thing about this bless is that me and you are Sega kids as well.
But like not even like, because I didn't own a Sega.
I just like Sonic specifically.
Was it a Sonic adventure that kind of really started?
No, it was.
I had a cousin that had a Sega.
And so I'd go over to his place.
And it was always like the magical thing.
It's always Kevin's cousin.
My cousin from Arkansas with three first names, David Vernon Benny, had a, he had a game gear.
The only person in the world I knew who had a game gear.
And that shit lit up.
I was like, what is this?
This is unbelievable.
That thing is like seeing Sonic the hedgehog, I think he had two.
Seeing Sonic two at his place, I was like, this is on another level.
And then it was, I must have gone to Best Buy.
And they had like a Dreamcast demonstration that.
had Sonic Adventure.
And I saw that for the first time.
I was like, oh, man, this is the future.
This is insane.
And then like...
The memory card with the screen on it?
What are we doing?
Wild.
And then it was, I think, what, Sonic Heroes was like my first 3D Sonic game.
And that's the one that really set things off.
Yeah, he has a cast of characters too.
We as homies?
Yeah, as friends.
That's so funny because, yeah, it was Kevin's cousin had a Sega Genesis and going to his
house and seeing Sonic 2.
It was mind blowing.
It was like, I mean, obviously, I'm a Mario guy at the end of this.
day. But to see Sonic, nothing was cooler.
Also, did you ever, I don't know if this is like just a thing that is happened in my childhood.
I would always go online and try to find like Sonic Flash games and I would find them all
the time. It was always a Flash game. That was just Green Hillsone.
They couldn't keep them away from it. Yeah. It's just Green Hill Zone. Like somebody
either made it or it's emulated. I didn't know what, but I could play Green Hill Zone all the
time in my browser. I dare you to hide them from me.
Were you a Sega kid? Were you a Sega kid? Were you a Nintendo Kid? Let me.
us know with a YouTube super chat.
That's right.
You can super chat throughout the show.
But really, let's focus on some Nintendo
direct predictions because that is
the topic of the show today.
Today we're brought to you by Harry Shady Raisin a Better
Paradise, but I'll tell you all about that.
Later, shout to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs,
Fargo Brady, and Delaney Twining. You really are
the best of us. Thank you. But yeah, we are
talking Nintendo direct predictions, and I
got to be honest, this is maybe
my favorite subject in the
world to talk about on any show.
is Nintendo direct predictions
because anything can happen at this point.
You know?
Oh, wow,
blessing found one.
There it is.
A Sonic Flash game is playing right now.
It's Green Hillsone.
That's straight up just Sonic.
Yeah,
no,
this is not a recreation.
This is just an emulation.
I'm honestly shocked that websites like this
still work in the current sort of framework
of internet browsers.
Yeah.
Remember that one year?
When did Flash die?
Like that felt like...
That was must, what, four years ago?
Five years ago?
Oh, really?
I don't feel like that was that longer.
I think it was like 10 years.
Yeah.
When did shockwave die?
Shockwave?
Have a real media player?
Oh, man.
Good Lord.
All those cool skins.
Imagine all the money they can make now on skins.
And winamp.
Yeah, there it is.
Sonic games.
Is this SonicGames.com or something?
Yeah, it's Sonic Games.
That's absolutely hilarious.
But Nintendo Direct predictions are my favorite thing because we're just currently living
in this realm of infinite possibility.
You know what I mean?
Are we preparing ourselves for infinite disappointment?
Perhaps.
Perhaps.
But the thing about Nintendo Directs,
that is different than most of the other showcases is every once in a while,
all the dreams do come true.
You know what I mean?
Will that be tomorrow?
I'm not so sure,
but that's what we're going to discuss over the next hour or so.
Can I ask,
what are the dreams?
I was having this conversation with Greg earlier
about what I think the two biggest things could be,
and I want to know if there's anything bigger
that could be there for you, Tim,
because...
Lots to break down here, obviously, right?
The two big things would be Hollow Night and Metroid Prime.
Uh-huh.
Is there anything bigger that could get announced to?
No.
And I think that like, let's just be real.
That's huge, right?
Like, I don't think that we should be expecting an out of nowhere announcement tomorrow that is bigger than Metroid Prime 4.
You know what I mean?
Or Hollow Night.
Like that is, to me, that is the peak of what big announcements can be.
So it's like, yeah, that would set our expectations correctly, infinitely high as those two things, correct?
But what Nintendo tweeted out was join us for a Nintendo direct live stream focused on Nintendo Switch.
games coming in the second half of
2024. There will be no mention
of the Nintendo Switch successor during
this presentation. It'll be at 7am.
It'll be roughly 40 minutes.
I appreciate all this information that they gave us.
We will be live reacting at 7 a.m.
to this one. Bless and I will be here.
7 a.m. We're going to break it down, watch it.
Then after that, we're going to do the games
daily. It'll be the breakdown of everything we thought about it.
That'll be followed by other fun stuff.
But
before we get this,
too far into this. My number one question I have for y'all.
Okay. They said, there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this
presentation. Will there be a mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation?
I'm going to say no. I don't, I mean, define mention. What is like the, what's the most
they can talk about it without talking about it? I don't think they've been this
direct, right? Like, for something like this, I feel like that's pretty
transparent of them.
I know that in the past
there's been plenty of lying, right?
Like, we know that. We know there's been a ton of
moments in whether it's a press release or whether it's an interview.
Hey.
These tweets themselves.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Whether there's been, you know, hey, there will be no mention or we're not
working on that or we're not talking about it.
And then it happens anyway and we go, ah, you know,
that's a sin right there, by the way.
If he has like tradition every year where they say, hey, we're focusing on games
that are coming out this.
year and then halfway through the direct all the games end up being the next year games that
they're talking about. I just don't think that they would say that if they weren't going to do it
here. Like I really feel like maybe they are gauging the temperature and the hype levels of
the internet and want to set their expectations like they probably should be because every
direct that's been kind of announced or rumor to is like, is this going to be the switch?
2-1, I feel like
because they are getting out ahead of saying that
that there will be no mention of anything
and there will be no
I'm gonna say there is it gonna be
Metro Prime 4. There is?
Yeah.
Don't get ahead of yourself, Andy.
Just to be clear, I also agree.
I don't think that they're gonna,
there will be a mention of the Switch 2.
I just wanted to bring that up
because they have said things
that didn't directly went against them.
But I do not think that they will.
I think they say they're working on it
and that's the most.
I think they have to come out and say that there's not going to be mentioned of it because there's not going to be any new games announced for it.
They don't want people to think that there's going to be news here.
I think the most they say is that, you know, hey, we're working on it.
It's all I need to say.
Hey, hey, hey.
We're working on it.
I think that's what we get from them.
At this point, I find it even weird that they are mentioning a successor to the hardware in a tweet.
And that's the thing.
Like, we know, obviously, like, you know, they've talked about it in interviews.
Duh.
We know that they know that we know.
know, you know, like this is one of the situations where they've officially stated multiple times
that, yes, we were working on new hardware, but a tweet is like a different type of
acknowledgement. Like, acknowledgement. Yeah. So I'm like kind of even surprised that they're doing that.
I think they, I think they mention it just because there's only so much you can say about your
upcoming software lineup. And like, I almost feel like it's, it could do them a disservice to go,
hey, this is the stuff that like, here's our big direct for the year. We're holding back. Like,
obviously we're holding back, right?
And I think
I think acknowledging it helps with that issue.
I think going, you know, 2025.
I don't even think they say 2025
because that's already like a news headline, right?
But hey, we are working on the Nintendo Switch 2.
We're working on that software.
Tune in later.
Like, we'll talk about that later.
For now, we're talking about Nintendo Switch stuff
and that kind of gets around the,
all right, we know what this direct is going to be.
Yeah, I would like, if you all want,
you can try to like edit this
into the presentation, Tim.
Go for it.
What did you think of that game?
This is the translator.
Oh, okay.
What did you think of that game?
Did you enjoy it?
I hope you did.
Wouldn't it look better in 60 frames per second at a higher resolution?
It sure would, huh?
The next title, and then, like, you know, they just kind of go on from there.
Yeah.
Because, like, it's so weird that all of these games are going to be looking a certain way, and it's so tough.
Look at a certain way.
It's going to be so tough.
I like the idea that with every new game they announced for Switch, they like tease, some weird feature that the Switch to.
It's like, oh, man, I'm just.
a cool looking game, huh?
Who would it be like if you could smell that game?
All right, on to the next thing.
I guess we won't know.
Yeah, like, I just, weird.
It's always odd that, you know, these games,
especially when we are so close to whatever this next successor will be,
it's going to be hard to look at these and be like, cool,
but I want to see that in the new sort of hardware.
I want to see that with the new lens, you know?
Yeah.
I mean, hey, backwards compatibility.
I mean, of course.
No, of course.
follow-up question is do we get games announced here that end up as either cross-launch?
Definitively, yes.
All right.
Yeah.
I think so.
I think so, too.
I think that's like a surefire lock as a Metroid Prime, baby.
Oh, okay.
But I want to start this predictions episode like we normally do in recent times here.
I have a couple questions I want to run us through.
Do you have one personal prediction that you want to make about this direct?
There will be absolutely zero mention of Holo Night Silk Song.
Zero.
You're doing this as like reverse psychology.
I really am.
I'm hoping they're watching and they're like, fuck you.
Yeah, we're going to put it in now.
Like, you know, I want to, I want them to prove me wrong.
I don't think there will be any mention of Holland Night Silk Song.
I think that the biggest title we will see will be Metro Prime for.
And that will be sort of like ending the presentation.
Bless.
I think we get a new rhythm heaven.
Okay.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I think it'd be, again, for me, this will be the direct of the four horsemen.
And the four horsemen, again, not being...
Four horsemen have released, except for Luigi's Mansion.
But that's the thing is, I don't even think the four horsemen needs to be just four games, right?
Four horsemen can be fucking ten games.
The whole point of the horsemen is that they are signaling the end of the switch.
I think rhythm heaven is one of those things where it's like, man, we made everything else for this thing.
All right, let's fucking feed these sickos.
Yeah.
Like, I think we start getting the games for the game for the switch.
the sickos.
That or
Tomogachi
Life,
whatever that's
called?
Tomahashi Life,
yeah.
Is this
the Wind Waker
Twilight
Princess,
whatever?
Well, so this is
where Tim Gaget
was putting the
fucking gauntlet down.
Whoa.
Here's my prediction.
And this,
this,
you know,
we're going to get
to hype levels
at a second.
And y'all can call me
crazy and whatever.
I might be wrong
about this.
Cool.
That's how this works.
I truly believe
that tomorrow
we're going to get
Metroid Prime
4,
Hollow Night Silk Song
and the Zelda ports.
I agree.
I agree.
I think he's
I think it's the one.
I think this is the one.
Okay.
Well, okay, okay, okay, hold on.
Okay, hold on.
Okay, so based on a little speculation of rumors out there,
we've been hearing this is going to be a big one.
Yeah.
And if there's no mention of hardware.
The word peak was used.
Matt Peek.
So if, damn, that makes a lot more sense.
Because right now, I'm in that line of thinking right now
when we were on the Xbox predictions.
And anytime a game would be mentioned, my might go, no, absolutely not.
I go, well, there is 31 games.
And now you're mentioning like, well, of course they wouldn't show.
Why would they show all these like banger of games?
You go, oh, this is the one that's rumored to be a really, really big presentation.
And if there's no hardware mentioning of anything, what else could possibly be
40 minutes of content?
That's a lot of, that's a lot of time.
A lot of time.
Nintendo directs, commonly 40 minutes.
So that doesn't necessarily mean, oh, man.
28 minutes on a new
Splatoon DLC.
Real talk.
You know,
we've seen it
before.
So let's segue
to this to
what is your
hype level,
scale of 1 to 10
for this show.
And again,
there was a little
confusion a couple
weeks ago with the
Xbox one.
We're not predicting
what we think
the review of the
thing is going to be.
Right.
What's your hype level
going into the
Nintendo Direct tomorrow?
I don't want to give a score.
I'm scared.
I'm scared of a gaming scores
now.
But I'm going to say,
honestly,
honestly,
after talking through it
with Greg earlier
on KHD
and now talking about it
now. I think I'm pretty excited. Yeah. Like, I think the thing is, for the rest of this year for the
switch, what could be the exciting things? I don't expect a new big 3D Mario. I don't expect,
like a, I don't know, like a big new Zelda. I don't expect what would be the big contenders
from Nintendo, right? And so, like, I think that could leave, though, like, Tenders.
I don't expect the Nintendo. I don't expect the Nintendo. I don't expect the Nintendo.
You could buy those at a fucking universal at the Super Mario Land.
You go buy three Nintenders for fucking $28.
Spicy.
But I, if we, for the rest of the fall, if it is Zelda remasters, right?
We get those Winwaker, Twilight, Twilight ports.
It is Metroid Prime, like, Metroid Prime 4 would be the one.
Yeah.
And I don't know if I'm there yet.
I think we see it, but I don't know if it's out this fall.
It just doesn't feel possible.
I'm excited.
I'm excited.
I feel like Nintendo always does the sort of,
hey, this big game,
this big game is finally getting announced.
And while you're waiting,
here's also these other things,
you know,
they like kind of dropping themed segments.
And I feel like if there is that Metroid Prime 4,
then the two and three remasters.
That's another huge potential.
I mean,
there's shadow drop potential there for,
for two and three,
or just two.
We can see,
I don't know.
And we know they love
sitting on titles and waiting for them
we have a blank space in this slot of the year.
Fucking put that there, right?
Like, we don't have a strong winter lineup,
but we've been sitting on this remaster of whatever,
put that in there as well.
Like, I really do feel like they are so,
they're playing with house money at this point.
And whenever this next presentation of the switch two happens sometime next year,
that'll be its own thing.
But right now it's like,
we have things to slot in for the rest of the year.
let's plan out how 2024 is going to look.
I mean,
Barrett, what's up?
I was thinking like,
I think we get the Switch to 2 presentation this year.
I mean, too.
And I think it's like, I could see,
I don't think it's likely,
but I could see of like,
stay tuned for another direct later this year,
October or whatever,
at the end of this one tomorrow.
Yeah, and that's the thing is I feel like that's,
I'd still count that as a mention,
I just want to say,
they're not going to mention it.
That is mentioning it.
But I wouldn't be surprised if they did that tomorrow.
But before we get two sidetrack, Andy, what's your hype level on this?
Well, now I'm just super jazzed up.
And I am so jammed up right now.
And, you know, I elected to not be on this because of how my schedule looks like.
And now I'm contemplating what do I got to kind of reschedule and how am I going to
Resident Evil inventory this
so that I could fit this into the
because 7 a.m. very, very early for me.
Oh, it's very early.
But now that's all I'm thinking about.
Also, just speaking on the time real quick,
7 a.m., a traditionally
Japanese focus direct.
So we can assume we're going to get
some pretty consequential
Japanese software
announcements. Probably Dragon Quest
being the big one, but yeah.
Oh, yeah. There's the whole Dragon Quest
like remake stuff, right? Mm-hmm. I remember
waking up doing that at 6 a.m. one.
Pokemon one, me bless and Tim.
And that's when I had the roommates still living
underneath me, underneath our
apartment down there. And that dude was like banging
on the ceiling with a broom at like 6 in the morning
because I was talking.
Talking at a normal volume, like, you know, Tim, I think I'm pretty
do, do, dude, I was like, this fucking dude.
I hate him so much. I hate him so much. Let me talk about Pokemon.
Hopefully he only lived under us for like six months. It didn't last very long,
but he did not like me.
I don't think I'm at a 10 for this just because we are at the end of the Switch's
life cycle like there's you know a 3D Mario is kind of where my 10 would be but I'm at a
nine like I really think that this I believe that this direct's going to deliver
I think that we look at Xbox's showcase and they they delivered and I feel like with
where we're at with Nintendo of the known quantities the assumed quantities and just where
the Switch's life cycle is,
I think that they're going to come through
with a lot of the big hitters that we're looking for.
Again, I don't think that we're going to get
a major new game announcement necessarily
because that's just not where we're at in the life cycle.
But Metrid Prime 4 is incredibly, incredibly exciting to me.
Just seeing it I'm stoked for,
like that to me is one of the big games.
Like that is, you were talking about 3D Mario 3D Zelda.
Like the 3D Metroid, Metro Prime, that's up there for me.
If Prime 4 is there,
is that not something you would include in the tweet?
Hey, we're finally
revealing more info about Metro Prime 4.
Metroid doesn't got it like that.
You know what I mean?
The hardcore sickos are there.
They're excited for it.
But like, I feel like that is more of a,
when it's in the direct,
it'll speak for itself, you know,
surrounded by a bunch of other announcements
that people are showing up for.
I'll never forget how massive that announcement was
when we went to Chipotle after 2017.
My first year working at kind of funny.
Yeah, that's really funny because I remember that exact.
I remember that was the first time I ever had the green hot sausage.
Oh, wow.
It was a big day.
Holy cow.
And then do you have a get-hyped thing that you don't think is actually going to happen, but you're really hoping for it?
Okay, here's my get-hyped thing.
That's not the obvious silk song because I'm already predicting that will not be there in any way, shape, or form.
And you can hold me to that one.
All right?
You come at me.
You come in my family.
I'll defend myself.
I don't know where I'm going with any of this.
defend your family or just yourself?
Just myself.
They can take care of themselves.
My get hype thing would be
a 3D
looking remake of any of the old Zelda
games. Whether it's a link to the past,
sort of like Link's Awakening remake style,
whether it's any of the...
I mean, I doubt since... because I don't know how the
Nintendo Capcom thing is working with
the ages and
seasons, Oracle games.
Anything like that would
be so freaking fantastic to me.
Plus.
Star Fox Grand Prix.
No, I'll say
if every Pokemon, like, Game Boy
Game Boy, Game Boy, Advance was announced to come out this year
on Switch online. I think that'd be sick. Yeah.
Yeah, I'd be super hype for that. Yeah, I would too.
I think that's unlike. If they do that,
I think it'll be a Pokemon Day announcement.
Yeah, that would make sense. But,
yeah, that would be, that'd be awesome. My
get-hyped things that are, like,
my super get hype always is Star Fox. I just
spawned Star Fox period.
But like my,
my answer to this is
Kid Icarus Uprising
for remake something.
That is an amazing game
that stuck in the 3DS
and like not nearly enough
people played it
because not only was it on the 3DS
but the controls were a little bit awkward
because of the hardware of the 3DS.
I feel like it would sing on the switch.
I think people would love it.
The game is epic as hell.
So, so freaking cool.
And I think it's,
I'm surprised that it hasn't been ported yet.
And it feels like a horseman, one of the four horsemen games.
That does seem like a horseman kind of situation, yeah.
Horseman.
Man with the head of the horse.
Singular version.
It's a guy from one to Switch, the new one.
Another one out there actually is a new Donkey Kong.
Again, that feels like a Switch 2 type thing, but also...
At this point.
Could be...
That could be like a Switch one thing as well.
We've not gotten an original Donkey Kong for the Switch.
And so, like, there's space there.
You have all these units that are out there for the Switch already.
Like, if you want to take...
advantage of the install base already being there for a new donkey con game it makes sense the question
then would be who's working on it is a retro because they're working on metro prime for is it somebody else
that could be really interesting to see what another person's donkey con could look like the the rumors
for a long time where it was nintendo ead the odyssey team uh working on a two d donkey con
which would be absolutely insane and i'm really cool i still believe that the next 3d mario is
going to include donkey con in a major way i feel like the the movie like
the way that they've kind of lumped them together
and just the way that the theme parks are rolling out.
Like, I feel like they're going to try to more closely tie
Mario and Donkey Kong, not in the way of the
Mario versus Donkey Kong like puzzle games,
but I think in a 3D platformer way.
I could see it because, like, bless you and I know,
Odyssey was really just like a spiritual successor movement-wise.
Yeah.
To Donkey Kong 64.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, not Banjo.
D.A. 64.
No, no, no, no.
Donkey Kong 64 specifically, right?
Yeah.
By the 964 always just looked like the mod of like,
and we replaced the banjo mob.
Yeah,
but like the superior mod,
you know what I mean?
Sure,
of course.
Of course.
Let's upgrade this stuff.
Man,
I mean,
Tim,
you just kind of got the,
the gears turning for like,
because of this whole movie thing,
you know,
they put out that movie.
It did okay,
right,
in theaters.
Oh,
yeah.
Um,
but the idea of Mario hopping into different multiverses and,
like,
that does not,
that doesn't seem like an IP
doing a,
multiverse type deal. That just feels
like a very Nintendo-centric thing anyway.
That isn't like, I know
we're kind of exhausted by the ideas of
multiverses in our stories nowadays.
But Mario's went everywhere. Huh?
Mario's went everywhere. I know, and that's what
I'm saying. Like, it doesn't feel like a very,
very, you know, it doesn't feel like
something too odd for Nintendo to try to attempt
to see Mario go help
out all of his friends in the
Donkey Kong country universe, hop
into Zelda and
you know, whatever he's got to do there, get some turn-
It's funny, I've never even thought about that, like the more multiverse type thing of going to a bunch of different places.
And I agree with you.
I don't think it's completely unlikely because it's Mario and it's Nintendo.
But I don't think that's what this is.
I think it's going to be Mario and Donkey Kong.
Like I think it's going to be like Seth Rogen.
I mean, honestly, I don't think so.
But like, they might lean into that shit.
Like, he might be voiced.
I was, I mean, I was thinking about this a while ago of like, if the movie is,
popular enough does Nintendo go,
oh man, do we give Mario voice now?
Or do we give some of these characters' voices
since people are becoming a bit more accustomed?
Or like,
the Mari movie giving these characters
voices makes it not so weird anymore.
Does Nintendo make that move?
I don't think so.
But I can also see it.
I could see maybe the rationale around it
if they went that way.
I'd hate it.
What's a surprise of Mario?
All right.
Like, hold on.
Like, after playing sunshine
for the first time,
terrible fucking game by the way
and at the end like having
Bowser being like
Bowser Jr.
It's you know
and he's like fully
and like they're all talking
with each other I just was not a fan
of any of that. Remember what he had to admit
that Pete wasn't really Bowser Jr.'s mom?
Yeah. It was very very weird.
People defend that game.
Yeah, yeah they do. We do.
We do. Okay. Everybody we're going to go
it's me. It's me. It's me.
It's wrong. Everything I learned about Mario
Sunshine has been against my will.
I didn't know that.
Bowser Jr. thought Peach was his mom.
What did you?
Yeah. That's crazy.
The whole thing is like they kidnapped
spoilers for Mara Sunshine. A lot of people
are worried about spoilers for Mara Sunshine.
But the little metallic Mario running around that you're
chasing all the time, that's actually Bowser Jr.
In disguise as
that guy. But hear me out, Andy.
Like in the last level
when you're like going through like the volcano thing
and you're trying to get to Bowser's layer,
in the lava, there's a bunch of like
broken pieces of like the checkerboard floor for Mario 3 castles.
And I'm like, that's fucking so cool.
You know?
Hmm. It's so cool.
Wasted on that game.
We're going to go through a list of a bunch of different things and we're going to talk
about what we think of their likelihood is of being there tomorrow.
Let's start with Hollow Night Silk Song.
Bless, what do you think?
Oh, I think it's likely.
I'm not at 100%, but like it's the fact that it's not been anywhere else during the
summer game fest season, it felt like such a slam dunk for it to be somewhere.
I'm going to put it at an
8 out of 10 likelihood.
I think 80% chance it is there.
It is given a date.
When is that date?
Out next week.
No, not next week.
But I think we're given a date.
I think we see it here.
Yes.
I agree the date.
I also think 80% is correct.
Like if it's not there tomorrow,
it's not going to be the biggest surprise.
But there's something about how it's been,
it's kind of shown up everywhere except PlayStation, I think, at this point.
And I've always thought Nintendo's wear it.
So, because I mean,
Holonite 1 was like a Switch game, you know?
But is this not
an indie showcase type thing?
I mean, Nintendo puts indie games
in their directs every once in a while.
I think, I think Holonite is very much transcended that.
I'm gonna go with 10%.
Never say never, I'm sitting on this fence.
I'm so high up here on this fence.
I can see both sides on either side of the fence, right?
Careful to tetanus.
I'm gonna say 10% chance.
I just
I'm where
I'm starting to get more and more worried
despite all of the
I say all of the
there's only been like three tweets
from like Team Cherry and stuff
and being like hey
chill out it's all good
we got this we're working on it
yeah
I'm still getting you know
starting to feel that worry now Tim
you know like my little son went camping
in the woods and it's been 24 hours
I'm like where's my son
he hasn't called
you know what I mean
worse is that good
it's like that one time
someone like Mike went out camping
or went out
hiking in the woods and then he hit us up on Discord
and was like, hey,
I'm really, really, my cell phone
is getting service right now.
If I don't respond in like six hours,
I need you all to like, you know,
I'm over here in this location.
I wouldn't put that on you.
I just, that's a great question.
That's a great question.
That is a fantastic question.
That is kind of where I'm at with like,
Hollow Night's not showing up here.
If it's not here, then I'm like, all right, what's going on?
Yeah, that's kind of it, right?
Are we in development hall?
because like what's the goal?
It was like slated for last year, wasn't it?
Like at some point or maybe that was Xbox lying to us,
but it wasn't Xbox like, yo.
Xbox put it on their graphic of,
here are all of the games coming to an Xbox library
in the year 2023?
Yeah, and then like halfway through 2023,
which I think was the cutoff point.
The Hollow Night devs are like,
hey, you know, it's not going to make it,
but we're still working on it.
You know, we're going to talk about it soon.
But on the flip side, there's been those two listings.
Those two ESRB listings, right?
And that...
And it showed up on the Xbox store.
believe. That gives me
like a lot more hope
but I'm just so
hopeless at this point in
yeah. In many
many ways than one. Trust me I know I do I know
I know yeah um I don't like how much
you agreed with that
do we get an update to an old
game a la Mario Kart 8
getting DLC years after it it's like what the hell
that came out of nowhere
so there are a couple things here
Greg brought up the idea of Animal Crossing
which I don't think is likely but like
he was kind of making the case for it of like
you know, there's still an audience for it there, right?
And like, if you are, if the Switch 2 was originally supposed to come out this fall and it gets delayed into next year, right?
Like, what are those easy wins that you can make?
And maybe that could be a, hey, let's put out more annual crossing content.
There's that.
And then the other thing, I forgot, oh, Mario Wonder.
It could be fascinating to get some DLC for Mario Wonder.
I think that'd be really cool.
And then the other potential, there's always room for Mario Odyssey,
finally getting a real DLC, Tuesday to choose the kingdom.
They said they're not going to do it.
who the hell knows.
I don't think so.
I think it's important to point out
that currently there is no Mario game in the fall.
And like Nintendo likes having Mario games in the fall.
I don't know the last time there wasn't a Mario game
that came out in a year.
Yeah, I mean, we did get it paper Mario already.
Oh, you're right.
And Mario versus Donkey on.
You're right.
So we got a couple.
But like just looking at the fall,
I could see something happening.
But I don't know.
For some reason, I don't think we're going to get
this type of update, like a DLC.
pack for an older game.
I'm trying to think of what the options would be because
I think Nintendo likes to put out the Mario sports games.
They're always like the Mario Golfs, Mario Strikers.
It's time for baseball, baby. I was going to say, what if we get a Mario sluggers?
Those games always also come out in like June period.
Yeah.
And so like I don't know if we're going to get a Mario sports game in the summer.
Maybe you do a big update to Mario Party.
Oh, I could definitely see new map packs being added to like Mario
party. I mean, I'll take this stuff further. I can see just a new Mario party.
Like, I feel like that's the type of game,
a horseman.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I, part of me wonders
what the, what the attach rate is,
and the attach rate isn't the right word, I should just say sales, but like,
how successful are Nintendo DLCs?
And at one point, will they go, we should just put out
the new thing? I think that they're very successful, and I think
that they're incredibly successful
at selling Nintendo Switch online.
Okay.
You know, I think that's their big thing
of like, we gotta keep putting things out
because they're running out of OG games
to put on the virtual console stuff
or whatever it's called these days.
But like, I feel like having their,
uh, the expansion pass or whatever,
like they need to keep adding DLC just to provide the value there, you know?
Because man,
I was super,
super looking forward to the Splatoon Roguelight DLC
that I went to go preview downtown.
And that,
that came and went so quickly.
And it's so far gone in my mind
that I have not even thought about it
until right now.
And I feel like there are
a lot of different experiences like that
on the switch that
they might be better utilized
if they are attached to the next big sequel.
And that's why I'm kind of thinking
about Animal Crossing.
I don't know if Animal Crossing puts out a new DLC.
I think that you need that hype again
for the casual audience
that had never really played a whole lot of video games
and they got into New Horizons for during the pandemic,
I think that a new DLC won't bring that gigantic portion of the audience back,
but the new Animal Crossing, getting that popping up on all your news feeds
will be the one that brings them all back.
I totally agree with you, but I would make the exact same argument for Mario Kart
and they release CLC years later.
And that is just the most WNDs in the best way.
But like, I can't believe that happened.
But I also think Mario Kart deals.
Mario Kart is a different beast to me because I feel like that is a game that gets regularly played
where I feel like Animal Crossing had that giant, a really, really big window granted.
But I don't know if people who bought a Switch and Animal Crossing have booted it up since
2021 or 2022.
Like, I feel like it had that window and that came and went and you need something new
to bring it back where I feel like the people playing.
Mario Kart are, I'd say, regularly booting up their switch.
I think the people are still playing Animal Crossing.
Like, the Animal Crossing community is vibrant.
And I'm like a little scary from being honest.
Plus, I see you Googling something there.
It's a slam dunk.
2024 is an Olympic year.
Oh, geez.
Yeah, so I think we're going to see Mario and Sonic do a little collaboration.
Here's the thing, though.
There's a picture of them, like, dapping each other out.
I want to address Google real quick.
Tim, I think I've told you about this before.
Hold on.
All I want to see now.
All I want to see now is the meme from Michael Jordan's
last dance where Larry Bird and Michael Jordan
are dab each other up and Michael Jordan leans into his ear and says like,
and whispers, you bitch, fuck you.
I want to see Mario and Sonic doing that.
It would work so perfectly.
What's funny is like this weekend I was out of housewarming and I got into a whole
conversation.
Of course it's me.
So I get into a conversation about Sonic.
with some random adults
that were there
like
random adults
men who I've never met before
right we had no conversation
they're working on their like
health insurance in there
like these men are like probably in like
their early 30s
which I guess I'm about to be my early 30s
but I digress
right like get into a conversation
somehow it gets into Sonic
and then like
they're talking about like
isn't it unfair that Sonic is at
the Olympics with like Mario and stuff
and I'm like well Mario's probably
get a high jump and like you know
fucking like Dr. Robotnik has like
you know his robot stuff
making, but also, like, you know, there's Mario characters that are athletic and Bowser.
Anyway, I got a whole deep conversation about it.
I digress.
I want to address Google because there's this, I told you about, like, this fake, like,
wiki website that does, like, alternate universe, like, news.
Like, they'll make up shit that came out, but that didn't actually come out in real
life.
They'll make entire wiki articles that are just false things.
And so I typed in Mario and Sonic 2024, and it does the automatic Google thing, which is, like,
pull from, like, the immediate source.
and when I type in Marion Sonic
2024 Olympic Games,
the first thing that comes up
is the website and they say
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Paris 2024
is a sports video game release
for Nintendo Matrix,
Super Nintendo Switch,
and Nintendo HDS.
It is the sixth installment
in the long-running
Mario and Sonic series
and then it goes on.
If I click into the wiki,
it's probably all fucking false information
about this game.
Google, we got to fix this.
It's happened all the time
where I Google some shit
and then I get this fake wiki
and it's populated like a real wiki.
Like they have a little wiki.
Like they have a character list.
Obviously, this is a problem.
People shouldn't do this.
Google needs to figure it out.
Because I thought this came out.
But also, bless, why are you Googling shit that's not real?
Like, I love that this hasn't happened to me.
Like, why are you Googling shit that's like?
It happens to me all the fucking time.
I think a lot of the time is when I'm prepping game showdown.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because, like, I had one of the characters, you know, when we did Portrait Mode and we did, like, the fake, failed 90s mascot characters,
I had looked up one of those characters
I was trying to find a good render of them to put it into
Photoshop I clicked into the website for
like oh it was like the thing
the one Greg got the points for
that made everybody mad the rodent
Yeah those two of them you know roger giving points
For the fucking bat
Yeah, the acro bat
Greg drew a human and I drew a bat
It was like Rusty Rodin or some shit
And like I'm looking for a render
And I see like a 3D render of Rusty Rodin
I'm like oh that looks really good let me click into the website
and see where if I can get a
I-Rez version, and I get this whole fake
article of some fake
crossover movie from the late 90s
that features Rusty Rode it and like Sonic and like a bunch of
random characters. I'm reading this whole thing thinking it's real.
And I'm like, why have I never heard of this movie? It sounds incredible.
I digress. Marion Sonic, I think it's likely, right?
Nintendo, we need a, we need the lores to kind of cease and desist.
Yeah, somebody used to do something about it. It's called
video game fan, f anon, so fanon.
So fanon.com.
Be careful.
I don't like that.
Do we get any movie, TV news, amusement park news?
I think amusement park news.
Donkey Kong Country.
Yeah.
I don't know what they would say, though.
I think we would get glimpses of it.
Yeah.
I think we, well.
We've already got that, though.
Like, that's the thing is I don't know,
I don't know what the next step would be for them.
Like, because they already put out the trailer for Donkey Kong country of them,
like, going through the warp pipe and the donkey con music plays,
and we see the land.
That's a great point.
Now I'm just immediately thinking back to the tweet of,
games for the rest of 2024.
And now I'm wondering,
is it just,
is it just a purely games,
you know,
focus showcase?
And I think that might be the case here.
I don't think we get any sort of outside media,
whether it's TV shows or movies or theme parks.
Unless we get an update on like,
here's this new cupcake.
Man,
that peach cupcake was fantastic,
by the way.
Yeah?
Yeah.
The Princess Peas cupcake is delicious.
I really want to go.
Yeah.
Could we get like Donkey Kong movie news?
I feel like for some reason it feels like the air of Donkey Kong right now.
I mean, yeah.
Like Donkey Kong's just in the air.
And something, I smell it too.
Yeah.
Okay, good, you smell it too.
Yeah.
I feel like a Donkey Kong movie.
I feel like we've had conversations about that or reports or rumors or something.
Yeah, I mean, look, Nintendo directs are where we find out a lot of the movie news and stuff.
I do think we get something.
I don't know what it would be.
We got the Orlando, if I remember correctly, the Orlando Nintendo World is opening soon.
So I just don't know what, they've already said so much about that.
So I don't know what it would be that's new.
But yeah, some type of movie news wouldn't be a surprise.
Could you get the lead actor for a Zelda movie?
We could.
I don't think so, but we could.
What was the first mention of all of the casting announcements?
Was that a normal direct?
Yeah, exactly.
One of the best moments of my lives.
Is there any reference, like, this is something that you want to put on the camera Kennedy bingo card.
Like, is there any reference to director Wes Ball of the insanely successful war for?
or Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes movie?
Like, is there anything like that
to kind of make audiences feel like, oh, good.
Maybe I don't expect Zelda stuff.
I think if we get movie stuff,
I think it'll be a universal thing to keep tying it.
They'll bring out that guy, Chris Millicandry
or whatever his name is,
something like that. It's not that, though.
Who's like the universal.
Parts, dude, okay.
No, no, movies.
Oh, okay, gotcha, gotcha.
Because they always like to,
him and me a motor, there's buds.
You know what I mean?
They're just out there.
Let's move back to games, though.
I think an easy one, Nintendo World Championships.
Yeah.
The game's coming out incredibly soon.
So they'll do something about that, just a little update.
A weird one.
Lego Horizon Adventures.
Oh, yeah.
Coming to Switch.
Do you some more gameplay?
It'd be interesting for them to, like, just to see a PlayStation Studios game in a Nintendo
Direct, but.
I could definitely see that happen.
I could see it, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
We got the Plucky Squire.
I just put this.
here. I don't expect to see it, but I would love to.
I'm surprised we're not seeing it at any major thing
this summer showcase season so far.
I'm surprised it wasn't playable at the
at Summer Game Fest. They had that
devolver booth and a couple
games that were playable, but not Plucky Squire. I was very shocked by that,
especially just based on seeing like that singular
tweet from
somebody, not the developer, but being like, hey, I'm playing it on
Steam Deck, pretty sick. I have a feeling it's not coming this year.
Yeah, me too.
was going to be anywhere, I think DeVolver would
have had it in their own show.
They were confident that that was coming this year.
That's a good call.
I want to keep going through a whole bunch of fun stuff.
Real quick, actually.
I want to get to some super chats before we get to the ads.
Samson L says Switch 2 T's at the very end.
Not impossible.
Not impossible.
Alec Bobcoe say, I just want one thing.
Zelda, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker ports.
We'll talk about that a little bit more when we get back.
We don't have a date for a Lego Horizon, right?
We don't.
Could we get a date at Nintendo?
Would that be insane?
That would be insane.
That would be insane.
Pretty cool, though.
Yeah, it would be cool.
I don't think so, though.
I don't think so.
Cozy Bear says a new Warriors game.
High ruler, Fire emblem or something.
I don't think so.
I think that the timing's not right for that.
And we know that Dynasty Warriors is happening.
Somehow, against all odds.
Yeah.
Somehow, the Tennessee Warriors returns.
We'll get to more of these in a little bit.
But for now, here's a word from our sponsors.

This episode is brought to you by A Better Paradise.
From the writers of the Red Dead Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series comes the new immersive audio fiction podcast, A Better Paradise, Volume 1, and Aftermath.
Set in the near future, A Better Paradise, tells the story of the ill-fated development of an ambitious but addictive digital game world project led by inventor and psychologist Dr. Mark Tyburn.
As the advanced software they developed began to deliver unexpected and disturbing results,
the team fell apart under strange circumstances and the project was abandoned.
The game world and the superintelligence within were discarded, left dormant and undiscovered.
Until now.
I listened to episode one on my way to work today, and the thing that stood out, of course,
are the performances, but then as an audio drama fan, it was the use of monologues.
There's a whole bunch of talking here as it sets up the world that is not that far from us in the timeline
and also not that far from us than the technology,
which is disturbing, but I'm quite interested to see where it goes.
A Better Paradise is out now and available everywhere you get your podcasts.
Go listen today, and don't forget to follow a better paradise
on your platform of choice to make sure you never miss an episode.
And we're back, everybody.
All right, let's get into some big stuff.
We've been talking a lot of Metroid, but let's dive a little deeper.
Metroid Prime, 4, 2, 3, what are we getting?
Is it a shadow drop?
What's happening?
Andy Cortez.
It is not a shadow drop at all.
I think it's going to be two or three is what I was saying about shadow drop.
Oh, got you, got you.
Yeah, absolutely.
I think so.
I think, yeah.
90% true.
90% true.
Because Metro Prime 4 still on the way, still in the works.
Here's this awesome ass look at it.
But in the meantime, while you're waiting, get caught up with Metro Prime 1 remastered,
which is on sale now.
Oh.
$5 discount.
That's the crazy.
Yeah.
You're right.
You're right.
Yeah, that game is going to be 5799 now on discount.
In addition to two and three remastered.
Like, widescreen support, updated control schemes, whatever, yada, yada, yada.
Try to modernize it in some sort of way.
And yeah, I feel super good about that, especially with this peak presentation, you know.
Plus, what are you thinking?
I got like if then statements for this one.
I think if Metroid Prime 4 is announced for this fall,
if it's ready for this year,
then I don't think we get two and three.
I think Nintendo feels good about what Metroid Prime remastered one
did for the reigniting Metroid Prime hype.
I think two and three might, like,
not water it down because I'm sure people will be excited for two and three,
but Metroid, as far as I understand,
it's somebody who's only played Metro Prime 1 now.
Metro Prime 1 is the one, right?
It is. None of them are bad.
Like they're all great, I would even say.
But, you know, there are some people that, like, there's not like, and all jokes aside,
there's not a sunshine of the Metroid Primes.
Yeah.
You know, but one is definitely the 10 out of 10.
And I feel like the other two are like 8.5s.
Yeah.
So I think like Metroid Prime one got the job done.
If Metro Prime 4 is coming out this year, I think you just focus in on that and market that
and talk about that.
If Metroid Prime 4 isn't coming this year, then I think two and three is that.
possible. And I think it's, I don't think it's a big rem. I don't think it's like a, as much
TLC that was put into remastered gets put into two and three. I think it's just a collection
and a port and like maybe a light remaster situation. Yeah. I'm pretty much with you there.
I think the two and three, for some reason, I'm just not sold on them coming to the switch.
And I don't know why I feel that way, but like there's just something doesn't feel right about
that. Um, Metroid Prime 4, I find so interesting because I can argue both ways.
of 2024, 2025, mainly because of the Switch 2.
I don't imagine a world where Metroid Prime 4 isn't in some ways being developed for the successor to the Switch.
I do think, though, there's not a chance in hell that the game comes out now and is not on the Switch 1.
Because Metroid is not a launch title for the Switch 2.
It's just not a big enough franchise.
It doesn't have that type of juice.
and I don't like Zelda didn't have that juice until it did.
I don't think Metroid is the type of game that, oh, until it does.
Yeah, I think that they need the install base of the Switch 1 for this game to find success.
And I think that it will.
I think that it, this game is going to be the best selling Metroid game, bar none, not even a question.
But does it come out this year?
It just does.
I don't know.
I feel like if they talk about it tomorrow, I think it's this year.
and I think they're going to talk about it tomorrow.
Yeah, I think I liked Jeff Grubbs tweet talking about
like you don't spend seven to eight, whatever,
how many years, maybe even a decade at this point
because by the time it was, when it was announced seven years ago,
you had to assume that it was about a year or two
into pre-production or whatever.
Jeff Grub's tweet was, you don't,
you don't work all that time on Metroid Prime 4,
engineering it for the first switch,
and then like, never mind,
we're actually just going to make it for Switch 2 or whatever.
Like, I think it is,
I think it's one of the easier kind of cross-consul generation releases.
I think it's like an easy win for them.
So I'm with you,
but what I find weird is the timing.
Because, I mean,
let's just have a brief chat about the Switch 2 for a second.
Like, I firmly believe October,
we get the announcement of it.
January, we get the blowout, March we get the release.
Follow the Switch one.
release strategy. Do you guys agree?
Yeah. So if that's the case,
what's this cross-gen thing look like
for Metro Prime? Does it come out this year and then they
re-release it later? I mean, if you're going to do a cross-gen, I think
you just save it, right? You do it the same way that you did
Zelda Brough of the Wild and just launch it on both.
Yeah, and see, that's where this gets interesting, where it's like,
then so are we expecting Metro Prime 4 to be
in March? Like, I just, I don't know.
Launching alongside something else.
Yeah, that that too doesn't sound like it.
Yeah. But I...
Here's my thing, right? Going back to Metroprime
for not being like a prototypical launch title going to sell switch models because i agree with
you right metroids don't sell like a the way of zeldar and mario does can't why isn't it like why
doesn't it sell that much and like can it really not if you position it the right way if you push it the
right way because at the at the end of the day metroid is a cool ass first person shooter and we know
those sell right it is also metroidvania it is also like you know it's it's its own thing but it's also i
feel like it has the potential to break out that way.
Especially if you position it with, let's say the launch
titles are Mario Kart
for the wide
audience, right? Like the people
that are really going to, like, anybody that fucks with Nintendo
is going to show up and buy Mario Kart.
But then maybe you couple it with the Metroid Prime
for like the hardcore audience.
Could that be the strat?
I just, that's my problem.
My biggest problem with the Metroid Prime
launch game thing is I feel there's not a chance
in hell the Switch 2 doesn't launch
with a 3D Mario. And you don't put a
3D Mario and Metroid Prime 4 out on the same day.
Like, it makes no sense at all.
That's fair, yeah.
You know what I mean?
That Metroid Prime is a huge title for them, a huge title for them.
So because I think that the launch window for the Switch 2 is pretty locked already,
and you don't want to overload that.
It doesn't make sense.
Ah, I'm talking myself into it.
I think Metro Prime 4 is this year on Switch 1.
I also wonder, just based on the rest of the industry,
and I know Nintendo is not hurting by any means,
but like I wonder at one point do you just say,
we got to wrap up production on this?
Does Nintendo have that sort of line of thinking?
I mean, I think it's the opposite.
I think Nintendo, they in many ways,
have been known to Tears of the Kingdom.
Dread until you're done.
Dread.
This project that just,
I can't believe actually happened
and was as good as it was.
And they also sit on finished products.
Yeah.
You know?
So I just can't believe we haven't heard any,
we haven't actually seen anything from Metroid Prime 4
besides the updates of it not going well or whatever.
But like, that was a long time ago at this point, you know?
So I don't know.
I think Metroid Prime 4 this year for the Switch,
is it enhanced down the line for the Switch 2?
Perhaps.
But I don't think that it's going to play into the Switch's launch strategy.
Switch 2's launch strategy.
That makes sense.
Yeah.
I'm even looking up, I'm trying to find Metro Dread sales
and I can't find anything.
concrete aside from like, wait, in
2022, they said
3 million, which for a Nintendo
first party game, like,
that's not a lot. That's really good for
Metroid, though, like in 2020.
Yeah.
Metroid, can you look at Metro Prime sales?
Yeah.
Look at Metroid Series sales.
Okay. Just so we can get some context of where that 3 million
falls, because I'm sure that it's very high.
Make sure this isn't the fake.
You're fucking.
Very good call.
Metroid Prime 6 sold 9 billion copies.
B.
ZOVGM in the chat is bringing up good points saying it's, you know, we always talk about a 3D
Mario game launching with the Nintendo console and it hasn't happened since Nintendo 64.
I also don't think that there's ever been a time that we've been leading into a new system
where the Mario team hasn't worked on anything for as long as they have.
It's been seven years since Odyssey.
There was Bouchers Fury, you know, but.
Fair.
But, but I mean, that's it.
Right.
So it's like, I do think that like, just think the dominoes are adding up in the, in the,
in the perfect way for this.
And with the success of the Switch
and the presumed success of the Switch too,
I feel like, yeah,
you launched for that, Mario, baby.
Yeah,
Metroid sales are tough.
They're rough.
So, like,
what I have here,
I'm pulling from VGsales.
dot fandom.com.
21 million overall for franchise sales,
which for a franchise with as many releases
as Metroid,
but, like, you know,
remastered sitting at 1.09,
and I assume these are as,
as of, like, the last report,
it's which some of them
are just not up to date
because they don't,
Nintendo will list like the top 20 or whatever, but like below that they start just won't list things as often.
But yeah, Metroid Prime 1.09 million.
Metroid Dread 3.07 million.
As we go back further.
What's our number one though?
Number one.
I mean, I think number one would be Metroid Dread.
Yeah.
I mean.
So 3.07 million.
I rest my case, y'all.
Three million sales for like an amazing video game.
It just doesn't have.
Even if we bring that up to let's say by now sold 5 million.
Like, that's not a lot for a Nintendo First Party thing.
I think it's, I, for it being a side-scroller,
Metroidvania,
uh, so funny calling Metroid and Metroidvania.
Uh, for it being a side-scroller game like that, uh,
at the price point it was at was, I think it was like 60 or 50.
I forget how much Metroid dread was.
Full price, yeah.
I think that is a bit of a tougher ask.
And I think if, with the, with the way the gaming audience
has evolved in the last many years.
I think a first-person shooter
Metroid game, I think it's like a tougher sell to say,
hey, we're remastering Metroid Prime that old game.
Like, that doesn't necessarily make people
want to run out and buy that thing immediately.
Yeah.
I think $3 million is like kind of a miracle
for what Metroid dread is, it being a side-scroller.
We're also talking on Nintendo, though.
I think side-scrollers, like, fit at home more than shooters do
potentially.
I agree with the point you're making.
but I do think that
you know,
Nintendo does have that
2D legacy.
Like if I'm,
if I'm going to estimate
like how well a,
um,
a modern Metroid Prime does,
right?
For Nintendo Switch,
based on like looking at these numbers,
I would think like a good place to set it at for on Nintendo Switch
install base would be like seven million,
like six,
maybe somewhere between six to eight million and like the,
at the end of the first couple of years.
And even that,
like you take that and you compare it to.
Luigi's Mansion.
Yeah.
Even Luigi's Mansion, right?
Like a lot of other.
Nintendo IPs that when you're when you're strategizing around a new console release I can see where
exactly where Tim's coming from as far as like hey don't worry about how this is going to fit into
the launch strategy for switch to worry about like positioning it to just sell as many copies as it
can yeah and I also I just want to put this out here I'm so excited for tomorrow because I do now
believe we're getting it this year I hope so and what a goddamn banger life the switch would
have had that it ends with Metroid Prime 4 potentially and a lot of assumptions here that the game's
good and all that stuff but like oh man
Good Lord. As of February
2024, Super Mario Bros. Wonder sold
10 million. Yeah, that's insane.
The power of 2D Mario, man, I'm telling you.
How much is Donkey Kong, Tropical Freeze,
though? If anybody can look it up.
I can look it up.
I got you. We're going along, Amber. We're having a great
conversation. Moving on.
Zelda is my next topic of conversation.
We got Twilight Princess Wind Waker.
Do we see them tomorrow?
And is it a dual pack? Is it
a shadow drop? What are we expecting?
I think slam dunk, yes. We'll see them tomorrow.
if I'm to believe Jeff Grubb,
which I do most of the time,
he's been talking about these things forever.
He's been talking about the way that we know Nintendo operates, right?
We know Nintendo will sit on things until they're ready.
I think the conversation that Jeff was having years prior
was that like, you know,
like we're always going to get like some kind of Zelda thing every year.
It's just a matter of how we make that fit into the equation.
And so Zelda tiers,
the kingdom coming out last year,
means that last year we weren't going to get a Zelda remaster.
Right.
I think now this year that we're at the end of the Swiss life cycle,
there's not a major Zelda that we can see over the horizon.
Yeah, I think now's the time.
I think you put them out.
I don't know if they're going to be a two-pack.
I think maybe you just release them individually as remasters
because I think as Nintendo you could charge 60 for them separately
and people will still buy it.
That's such a great call.
Yeah.
When they come out, that's a really good question.
I can see it sometime this summer.
Yeah.
Was Skyward Sword 60?
It must have been.
I believe so.
A bunch of suckers.
We're a bunch of suckers.
But hey, man.
I like video games.
Yeah, I think we see them tomorrow.
Donkey Kong Country or Dong Kong Tropical Freeze as of 2020, late 2020, I believe, or early
2023 is $4.6 million.
Okay.
I mean, that's amazing.
Yeah.
For a port of a 2D Donkey Kong game.
Yeah, that's nice.
Yeah, right now, Skyward Sword is on sale for $41.99.
Whoa.
Its original price was 60.
Yeah.
Big sales.
There we go.
I just think it's an interesting one, sorry
Go for it
Of like doing both of them at the same time
But doing separate releases for them
Whereas Skyward Sword made sense
It was the only one coming out
And that was like the only remaster
That they were like selling
To do both of them separately
Both at 60 I just
I struggle to see what the
If that's gonna be a good strategy
I'm interested you know
Because they could do anything
They could shadow drop them tomorrow
They could just be like hey one in July
One in August
Before we Skyward Sword came out
we were theorizing that they were going to do a three-pack of,
like they did with Mario, right?
So, I don't know, it'll be interesting.
The GameCube collection.
Yeah, maybe.
Do we get a Galaxy 2 ever?
I don't think so.
Why?
We do.
Like, what is it?
This isn't, Galaxy 2 is not a game held up in trademark copyright with another company.
Like, why?
What is, did they lose the source code?
Like, what are we doing?
No, I don't know, man.
I don't know.
If we were too close to a 3D Zelda?
It is weird that, yeah,
It's so odd.
It's weird to this day that Galaxy 2 wasn't in that 3D All-Stars collection.
Stupid.
There's really no rhyme or reasoning for them not to want to make more money.
So like, it's Nintendo, man.
I hate this.
I know.
Galaxy 1 is really good, man.
That was a good game.
Galaxy 2.
Even better.
That's what I've heard.
Have you played?
I've never played two.
No, I played one the first time with the 3D collection.
Yeah.
And it was like, this game's so good.
Let me check out Sunshine.
Yeah.
Got Sunshine.
You brought this up earlier, Andy, but a potential new 2D game.
I don't think we get a brand new game, but we do have a couple options.
We could get a Link's Awakening style remake of one of the Oracle games.
We get a Links Awakening style remake of Link to the Past.
No.
You save that.
That's Switch 2.
I would hate that.
I would love it for Oracle games.
The art style for Link to the Past is so fucking good that if you changed it to that, like,
more cute, cheeby style, I would not.
I could see them finding a different art.
I don't think it has to be chevy.
I think maybe they find something that's more accurate to
link to the past.
I think a remake of Link to the Past is such a slam dunk
idea or some kind of modernized version.
Then the other option, though, that I actually
think is the most likely
of any of these for where we're at this
year with the Switch. For 2D Zelda
would be a port of
Link Between Worlds.
Oh, that's a great call.
Find a way to modernize it and not have it be stuck on a 3DS.
Yep.
that is a freaking fantastic idea.
If we see Judy Zelda, that's where my money's sad.
Oh my God, I loved that video.
What a good video game that was.
I didn't give it another shot.
It's so good.
Wait, which one?
Link between worlds.
Yeah, uh,
chat was also saying that.
I think that would be a good opportunity to bring that to a mainstay console
and not just keeping that on the DS.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, it's crazy that they're not crazy because I get there's Luigi Manchin's fans out there.
But like a Luigi Manchin's...
My aunt.
He's mansion fan.
Oh, really?
He's being there with the vacuum that he got and sucking up ghosts.
Yeah.
I need your, I need your aunt to meet, uh, yeah, the Scooby-Doo fan.
I need your aunt to meet Addison and just be like the, yeah.
Yeah, I think so on.
Kind of funny, connected universe.
When I went home for my sister's graduation, I told her, I was like, you're known at, uh, KF for, uh, being the number one Scooby-D fan.
She was like, yeah.
But yeah, but yeah, getting a Luigi Mansion, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD remake and like,
not getting a link between World's remake yet.
I'm like, man, what are we doing?
You know, let's get, let's remake the things that matter.
Who's with me?
Now, bless, you say that.
Yeah.
Would you be surprised to learn?
The link between worlds on the Nintendo 3DS sold 4.26 million copies.
No way, really?
Mm-hmm.
Good for them.
And Luigi's Mansion, too, on the 3DS.
4 million.
You're lying.
4,8 million.
All right, I stand corrected.
My bad, y'all.
Luigi's Mansion got it like that.
I didn't realize the Luigi fan were out here like that.
My bad.
But, okay, but, I just, you know,
We're talking, that's, that's Mario's blood.
You know what I mean?
That's true.
That is true.
Like, yeah.
You're talking about, like, the family of Mario.
This man is, this man was in the womb with him at one point.
Yeah.
They're not twins.
No, they're not.
Well, maybe.
But I just think we're in a different climate now with Zelda.
I think these last two big Zelda games have really elevated the franchise to even larger proportions to where,
I know, I'm making it sound like Zelda.
was never a popular character.
But I feel like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom
have just skyrocketed that shit to...
Absolutely.
Elevations unknown and now releasing a newer Zelda game
feels a lot more realistic
and you're going to get a lot more sales out of that character.
Here's my question.
This is a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it.
Right? Nintendo comes to you.
They hand you a gun.
They lead you into a room.
And in that room, there are two characters
that are like blindfolded tied up to the chairs.
Okay.
one of those characters link the other character
Luigi and they're like you got to kill one of them
and like the one you kill we can't use this character anymore in any of RP
oh Luigi is taking a
you're taking out Louis Luigi easily but like for the business of Nintendo
because he might have to take out Link for the businessman
oh no no no no no no no no no you might have more money making
you know the argument you can make that argument remember the year of Luigi
yeah that was bad it was bad for Nintendo but that was also a Wii you year
like you redo that year today
you're going to make you're going to
that's so tough man though year of Luigi was so tough
because like he was like a really good quarterback
on a bad team and it's like this poor guy
it wasn't his fault
it wasn't his game was great yeah
new Super Luigi you
I'll say great not amazing but it's great
can you say all that one more time
new super Luigi you
Jesus yeah dude it's where we're at everybody
I just always want to bring this to your attention
Andy how much do you think Luigi's Mansion 3 sold
I mean
At this point.
For the bit, I'm going to say, I don't know, 3 million.
14 million.
Oh!
I'm telling you.
I was going to overestimate it at 10 million.
No.
Man, this motherfucker is just, he is riding the coattails of his brother, man.
Got the mansions.
It makes sense.
You put Link in a mansion.
It's not selling that.
Actually, I buy that, actually.
You put Link in a mansion.
A little snow mansion.
That's crazy, man.
It's really crazy.
So then we got, yeah, Zelda.
I think that's the end of the Zelda conversation.
there. I am just going to continue
to say I fully expect an
Aquarina of Time, Zelda remake
for Switch 2 within the first
two years of the console launch. Oh, baby.
Wii U ports. We're running out of them.
Always potential for more, though. We have Zeno Blade
Chronicles X, NES remix, which is
very unlikely now with NES championship
or world championships coming out. There's
Star Fox Zero, which
I'm just letting everyone know right now. I want
nothing more than to see Star Fox.
I want nothing less than to see Star Fox. I
want nothing less than to see Star Fox
Fox Zero. That would be worst
case scenario because we don't need
that bad taste in our mouths. We need a
new fresh take on Star Fox.
We don't need to remind people that that
game exists and it would be very
troublesome to me and my interests if we
see it tomorrow.
Star Fox is one of those franchises that
like I've been
using this analog a lot but it just reminds
me of Sony
making a gravity rush movie.
Like I feel like
Star Fox could be an IP that is
that could be so wildly marketable
for like movies
and different media like that
but it's like one of those franchises
that is not a guaranteed hit
if you make a video game of it.
Dude, it has so much
untapped potential
but you just,
they got to get it right
and there has to be like
the media blitz.
But everyone,
go check out the Star Fox anime
trailer they did for Star Fox Zero.
Shit bangs.
It's awesome.
So much potential in these characters
in these games,
but they're going to get it.
I feel you've reached so deep into the Wii U library well, because I had to look up Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Sharp FEE, because I was like, maybe that one gets port. Turns out already ported.
I already ported.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then Nintendo Land is the last one.
I don't think that they're going to do.
They're not going to do it.
Just do it for fun.
Dude,
do it for me because I fuck with Nintendo Land.
Yeah.
I love Nintendo Land.
Um,
we talked about Mario already,
but yeah,
Mario Party wouldn't be surprised.
Don't think it's slam dunk,
but wouldn't be surprised.
Mario Sports,
it's baseball's time.
But my only thing is,
do they do baseball and Olympics?
Yeah.
But they're different franchises,
you know?
Yeah.
I think Olympics is probably more.
I think you could have baseball in Olympics
is like the more likely scenario.
Yeah.
That's true.
America's bad.
But I mean,
just the Mario sports team though,
you know,
I forget who they are.
But like,
what are they working on?
It's been a while since.
Switch 2.
Yeah.
What's a Dread team working on?
Like,
I feel like Switch.
Maybe,
yeah,
maybe you go back to
Mario Tennis for Switch 2
or whatever,
like,
I don't know what sports game
you lead on
for Switch 2.
I guess either tennis or golf,
but maybe they're trying to figure out
what are the things
you need to upgrade from the last ones
because they didn't hit as hard
as,
I think they should have.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's really such a sad thing to look at the Nintendo franchises on Switch and how successful and amazing they all are.
And then there's the sports games.
And it's like, come on, man.
How did you fuck up that bad?
Next up, Fire Emblem.
This is another one of those where there's smokes type situation.
The genealogy of the Holy War.
What the fuck did you say to me?
It's Fire Emble 4.
Dune shit.
Andy's looking at me right now.
He's quoted Dune.
The geniology.
All right, Paul O'ReTrie.
The genealogy of the Holy War is Fire Emblem 4 has never been released in America.
They've been remaking the Fire Emblem games.
That, this is happening.
This game is happening.
I just don't know when or where.
But I do think tomorrow is the time.
We haven't had a Fire Emblem announcement in a surprisingly long time for how Nintendo's works.
As soon as I type in genealogy, of course, Fire Emblem automatically comes up.
They know, they know.
my dream for Fire Emblem
is the like Radiant
Dawn and
Path of Radiance which is the GameCub and
Wii getting a kind of dual release
because those are the Ike games
those are my first Fire emblem, love them.
But yeah, genealogy of Holy War
I think it's happening.
Donkey Gong, we talked about this.
It's kind of rough
just because I don't expect
that 2D game if it exists
to be on the Switch anymore at this point.
Do you think it's launch?
I mean, it could be.
But again, it could be what I'm talking about
of like, it is the 3D Mario.
Hmm.
Yeah, I mean, I think we talk about launch,
like launch day a lot for Switch 2,
but like I feel like, you know,
when you think about it in like terms of launch window
and start to think of like these major first part of things.
How Nintendo does.
Right, which is how Nintendo does, right?
If you launch, I don't know what that day one thing is for the Switch.
But I think in the first, let's say, four months,
or even six months, right?
You can get in a Donkey Kong, a Metroid, a Mario.
a Mario cart in there and make it make sense.
I think Donkey Kong, yeah, you save for that, a new Donkey Kong.
Do we get 64?
Yeah, that's the, I mean, jumping to Switch Online.
You know, we're running out of games.
Donkey Kong 64 could happen.
I don't feel like they normally use Direx to talk too much about the shit coming to
to Switch online unless they're having a DSG pack.
Like they're adding like a new like a new console.
Yeah, like last year I think was Game Boy Color or two years ago.
or something like that.
Yeah.
I mean,
there's very few options left
of consequence.
Like the crazy one
would be Dreamcast,
which I don't see happening,
but could happen.
Yeah,
I think it's too late
also in the life cycle
for it to have an exciting one,
like the GameCube or something.
Yeah, exactly.
I wonder,
are there any, like,
rare games that are missing?
Because I'm trying to think of,
if you're,
I think they announced it
if there's like a cool way
to package it,
if you could go,
hey, and like,
come into Switch online soon,
we got Don Kong 64,
Didi Kong Racing,
and like maybe add in like a couple more rare things that are
someone in chat earlier was asking about
perfect dark if that was on
Oh yeah
Because that would be an interesting
That'd be pretty sick
That'd be smart actually right now
When we're like gearing up for the next perfect dark game
I think that could be a splash
F0
The GX which is the GameCube game
Like I feel at this point we're not getting a new F0
But I
I think this is not an actual rumor
It's just something I've talked about enough in my head
that I believe someone said it,
but I feel like it makes sense
to port the GameCube F0
if you're gonna do anything with F0,
but I do not think tomorrow will be the day.
I agree with that.
Me either. I can't see that on the Switch Online store.
I don't know why.
Not Switch Online. I think it would be like a Paper Mario
A Thousand Your Door type situation.
Oh.
No, I just don't see it.
I don't know if it like really,
it just doesn't feel like it fits.
I don't know if the F0,
is it 35 or 99?
Or was it a different number?
The F0 Battle Royale.
Yeah, I think Mario was 35, his 35th anniversary.
Yeah, that makes sense.
The Battle Royale.
I don't know if like the F0 game did enough to like...
It did.
Oh, you think so?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, they added so much like DLC to that shit.
Like they kept supporting that game because people were showing up for it,
which is like crazy.
Like I remember I read some article about how it was like one of the most streams
Nintendo games.
Really?
Yeah, like for...
Do you think it does enough to where it makes it?
it makes them, it makes Nintendo go, oh, snap, we got to support F0 more.
Definitely not.
But that's what I'm saying.
I feel like if they're going to support F0, which I do think that they're going to at some point,
I think they start with the GameCube game being ported or remade or whatever it is.
I hope so.
Square Enix, another interesting topic here because Dragon Quest 3, I think, is a surefire thing.
We're seeing the HD2D Dragon Quest.
That's not already confirmed.
I feel like incredibly likely.
But the big question is, is it just Dragon Quest 3 or is it one, two, and three?
all being remade, which is the rumor
that's been going around. I'm not a big Dragon Quest
guy, but I am a big HD2D
fan, so I like this happening, because I feel
like it one day might lead.
Chrono trigger or Final Fantasy 6. I would hope so.
I mean, right now, Square Annex, we've talked
about this a lot of them, seemingly
wanting to not make as many
games and focus in on, like, creating
the hits, and a Chrono trigger
2D HD would be a hit. Like, that would be
the ones where it's like, all right, cool. Now let's
fucking, like, I feel like it's beyond the, I don't
know what the opposite of a four horseman is, but that's like a
all right, you know, sound the sirens, we're
calling up the big dogs, like we're doing it.
Then Final Fantasy is interesting. I don't necessarily
think it's time for them to talk about anything,
but there have been a lot of rumors swirling
about Final Fantasy 9 and Final Fantasy Tactics,
and I
feel like a Nintendo Direct is a great
place to talk about those games.
And it's the 7am
direct, so, well, I think
tactics is a good one.
It could definitely happen.
And I'd be excited.
I want to see what that looks like.
I'm going to throw out there near Replicant for Switch.
Yeah.
Near Automata came to switch in like the end of the York Ha edition, but near Replicant never did.
Yeah.
Are they missing around anymore with the cloud stuff?
Like think back to like, oh.
Like was it control?
Was like that the only one?
No.
I was like, wait a lot.
I feel like one of the Resident Eagles.
Yeah, they do that.
Kingdom Hearts did it.
There's a couple Assassin's Creed Kingdom Hearts as well, yeah.
Very, very odd sort of.
attempt. Did you hear what Andy recommended for the Final Fantasy Tactics remake?
No.
Real-time combat.
Just modernizing.
Modernizing it.
What does that mean?
Love you so much. I love you so much.
Yeah, so that's all we got for the square stuff.
A couple of interesting writings that we got.
Travis H. says, I really have zero idea why, but I have a feeling, Grand Theft Auto 5.
can you imagine
close it out really funny
close it out yeah
no whenever we get to our switch two
predictions I think I'm gonna switch
I think at that whatever that initial reveal is
I think you're gonna see GTA 5
I love that that's so funny
and then one I wrote down for you Andy
Astral Chain 2
dude I was just about to talk about
like possible ports or whatever
I don't
ports like well for part one
like because I was in the shower thinking
like I want to see
switch
Well, I want to see, like, Astral Chain put in a better, like, I was thinking of porting that to other consoles.
So you think the Nintendo Directors are going to be like, hey, we're sorry that this game's on our hardware.
We're going to let Andy play it somewhere else.
No, I was just thinking of the soundtrack when I was in the shower.
I was like, man, I want to play Ashtral Chain, like, in a way that it deserves to be played.
But, man, like, Astro Shane is sick as fuck, dude.
It's such an awesome game.
And I could see this as a random drop, especially with the 7 a.m. timing, where you are getting,
you know, prime time for the Japanese audience,
I think it could happen.
I think we could get some sort of mention of
maybe not Ashtal Chain 2,
but something very, very similar along the lines.
Here's this new action character,
our movie or whatever.
The audience for Aster Chain 2,
I think we're both here, right?
Like, I think it might just be meaning.
I don't hear anybody else talk about Aster Chain 2 that.
It's so good.
I love Astro Chain.
I don't know that I need a sequel, though.
Like, I like it for what it was.
Yeah.
I think I'm with you
Because I love Astro Chain
But I would almost just
I just want more games that are like Astro Chain
Yeah
You know what I mean?
Like yeah let's make some cool
Stylistic fucking action games
That like don't have to be
You know the big like
PS5 pushing all the graphics or whatever
Like make it give it a cool art style
Give it a cool flare
Put it on Switch
Let's fucking go
Soundtrack was insane
But maybe don't make me do all those like weird
investigative little missions
I just wanted to fight bosses and do that
I just wanted to use my little guy
to do like to wrap around.
Yeah, wrap around somebody.
Like, you know,
ties up an interesting mechanic,
but man,
this soundtrack was just insane.
Do you're all in favor of the other than just look up
Astral Chain soundtrack and just pump that shit up to 11 in your car?
Chris Penwell says,
another Star Wars game gets remastered by a spire.
It could be Jedi Power Battles or PSP's Lethal Alliance.
This is such a good prediction because that is such an Nintendo direct thing.
The Star Wars Hunters just came out.
And so, you know, are they trying to get in the way?
promoting of that juggernaut.
Listen, you know.
I would be hyped for Jedi Power Mantels
because I love that game.
But God, that might be the worst game that I love.
That's a great call.
That's a good, gamescast topic, actually.
Definitely.
It's especially for us.
Plokoon, man.
Come on, Orange Lightzsaber.
My God, dude.
He was my mate.
He was the...
He was the shit.
He was the level of fucking 99 or whatever was.
Barrett, what do you got?
I was going to bring up Force and Lease,
but I forgot that that was already ported to the switch.
Yeah.
What about Katana Zero?
do you see Katana the Katana 1?
No, I think that's an Indies show.
And again, I think if there's anything imminent to say about that game, I think that would have been at Devolver.
Like, Devolver weirdly had a very, it was a great showcase, great presentation.
If you haven't watched it, it is so fucking weird.
It might be their best produced showcase yet.
But like, they really didn't have much.
Like, they had the Angerfoot release date.
They had a co-op coming to Cult of the Lamb.
But I don't know, I feel like they would have had, they would have kept some of that for their own.
of.
By prediction
for the Aspire,
Star Wars thing is
Star Wars
Demolition.
I mean,
honestly,
at some point we
got to.
That'd be sick,
dude.
I want it.
I'll play it
for two minutes
to be like,
oh man,
this is trash.
That's probably
the worst game
that I love,
honestly.
I'm going to get through
these super chats
to close the show
out.
Thank you all
for hanging out with us
today.
The boys are going
to go play some
Eldon ring after this.
Chris,
we're making our journey
to millennia.
Oh, shit.
We burnt it all up.
We've set fire
to the world.
Are you about to go through that?
Allentree?
Well, Melinda actually
like burnt herself up.
It was pretty sick.
Spoilers.
Yeah.
Dang, dude.
We got
Portland Kevin saying
I want Prime 2, F0GX
and Eternal Darkness.
Isn't Eternal Darkness already there?
No.
Was it not poor?
I think it could have sworn those porters the switch.
I don't look it up.
I don't think so.
I mean, I could be thinking it was something different.
MD 14 says,
I'm saying kick off the show
with Metro Prime 4 at release date
and the show with Hollow Night Silk Song Shadow Drop.
A lot of potential for tomorrow, boys.
SD Turtle says,
Metro Prime 2, Shadow Drop,
Cheebo remaster, please.
More Fire Emblem GBA games on NSO,
new Pokemon mystery dungeon,
Persona Q port, mark my words.
Oh, persona Q, that would be cool,
especially they did,
that's a weird one because those are 3DS games,
but they ported Etri and Odyssey,
which are also 3DS games over to Switch.
So that would be a cool one
because those games should not die off
on the DS.
Is Etri and Odyssey before
after the genealogy of
or whatever the Holy War?
The Holy War?
Entry and Odyssey 1 is the prequel.
Etriotacy 2 is the sequel.
Jeffrey Regara says,
I'm thinking it's time we see Fireland Genealogy
of the Holy War remake.
We know Nintendo since all the games
well after production is finished.
I think that it is, I think we see that game
100% tomorrow.
Genealogy of the Holy War.
Rooster 596 says with how well Valerent runs on console,
can we see a port to switch?
It's not a graphically intensive game,
so I could see it running well.
I could see that happening.
I was very surprised when Overwatch went to switch.
I thought that was kind of odd and out of nowhere.
And you've got to assume that Apex Legends and Overwatch
probably don't have the largest install bases there.
I can't imagine what the player accounts are right now,
trying to get a lobby, trying to get into a match.
it does seem weird enough to pop up
at a Nintendo
you know direct
I mean Nintendo's always going to surprise you
with the one way out of left field
so far out of left field
that it becomes right field
Mm-hmm mm-hmm
Street Shadow says
With Astrobot and Nintendo this year
Could this be the year of the platformer
And my get-hite moment would be
Pokemon Animal Crossing crossover
Ooh
I don't think this is the year of the platformer
could you imagine
PlayStation being like
Astrobot
we're putting that shit on Switch too
Oh my God
But it wouldn't work
Like you need the dual sense man
He's like flying around
I'm like some jolly cons
So I mean they do got the HD Rumble
Do you need the dual sense?
Yeah
I disagree
I disagree
I disagree man
The Uncharted Wolf says
Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster
I'm gonna give that one
A 40%
And even that might be high.
30%.
Yeah.
I feel like that, again, that
might go back to the Corona Trigger
conversation of that's a banger
that you want to hold maybe
for the Switch 2, possibly.
I mean, well, I don't think it's exclusive.
I think it's everywhere.
Oh, you're right.
Yeah, that would be like a cross-release.
Yeah, because Swearanax isn't do
exclusives anymore.
At least they said they're not going to do them as often.
Yeah.
I mean, 40 minutes, though.
A lot of games.
A lot of Sputon.
So much Spitzu.
C.J. Splitson says,
what about a modernized Zelda
2 remake. That would be wild.
I do think that at some point in
in life, they're going to go back to Zelda 2 and do
something weird with it. That sounds like a horseman for sure.
That would make me so happy to.
I don't think.
I mean, there are those really fascinating
segments in Link's Awakening that they even have to
like in the remake.
There's a random 2D side scrolling sections
when you're kind of underground.
That's the thing. That's almost the entirety of
No, yeah. That's why. Like, I
don't feel like it's too odd for it to
happen. Yeah.
Um, oh, smirgy.
Says, I want to hear about Zah.
Pokemon.
I thought about that this morning and that, I mean, that would be a Pokemon presents thing.
Probably, but like, Pokemon.
Announcements, yes.
Updates, I could see it being in the direct.
I don't necessarily expect that we're going to see it, but like I wouldn't be shocked if we did.
I'd like to see it.
I would say no.
Do we get a different Pokemon thing?
I don't think so.
No.
I don't think so.
Did Detective Pikachu 2 ever come out?
That came out.
It did.
It did.
Nato says Tim,
have you seen the Overwatch crossover announced today?
No.
It's like an Ultraman kind of like
Power Rangers looking thing.
There's a Forbes article that says
Overwatch 2's next crossover.
Oh, the next one.
Oh.
Hold on.
Fucking ads.
I'll send this to you, Barry.
I'll tell them about the new season,
because the new season is,
everybody looks like
they're out of like a Power Rangers
Ultraman type, you know.
Yeah, yeah.
Interesting.
I like that.
Transformers, that's wild.
It's Transformer.
Super Mario's says Xenoblate export.
I don't think at this point,
I don't know though.
Why didn't they port it already?
So I don't know,
but I don't expect to see it.
And then Pedro Venegas
with the final super chat of the day
saying,
what about an anime farming game?
Oh, yeah.
Over under on like how many
we're going to see. Because like from the past
ones, how many of those have actually come out
yet? Could we get an update on one of them?
You know?
I feel like they all came out. Yeah?
They're always coming out. I think a lot of them did come out. Yeah,
because like... How many of them were Square Enix?
Oh, most of them.
Yeah, like, they don't lie about the games that they're making.
Like, they announced these things. Yeah, Harvestella. They announced these things
and then they put them out like two months later.
Harvestella's on Steam as well. I didn't know that.
Well, what he says fantasy life?
60 bucks god damn um Alex in the chat uh you're saying what about the first super chat of the day
and i saw you mention it earlier like i only have this show super chat so if you super chat on the games daily
i don't have that i'm sorry i appreciate you though you're cool you're good one i mean i could
i could probably look that up in like the feed or whatever oh if you can if you can do it in the next 10
seconds oh shoot there's a lot of pressure yeah Alex we're gonna try to get maybe just like retype the
question i don't know yeah if you if you in the next 10 seconds
seconds, Alex, put in the chat. I will just read it.
10 seconds.
I'm excited for surprises.
Even as we break all this down, I have no confidence in anything that we've talked about.
Like, the only things I have really confidence in would be the Zelda remasters and then
possibly Metroid Prime 4 and maybe Hollow Night, fingers crossed.
He wants to know about the Inside Out 2 in review. I am so sorry. We have no update on that.
There's a lot going on right now. I don't know when it's going to happen.
I'm sure we'll get to it at some point, but I would not be surprised if it was like when it comes
to streaming and all that.
Did Disney fuck Pixar or are we fucking Pixar, Andy?
That's the real question.
Oh yeah, there's a $2. Inside Out to review when, yeah.
Let us know in the comments below what you thought about Inside Out too.
Do you think that Disney is fucking Pixar and what you think is going to happen at
tomorrow's Nintendo Direct?
Remember, we are going to be reacting live at 7 a.m.
It's going to be a great time.
Until next time, love you all.
Goodbye.
I might be there.
