Starting point is 00:00:07 What's up and welcome back to the kind of funny games cast for Thursday, October 3rd, 2024. Of course, I'm your host, Tim Geddes. I'm joined today by Blessing at Ae O. Jr. Good day, Tim. Greg Miller. I'm booking my Joker tickets. Book away.
Starting point is 00:00:21 I saw it last night. I will not be given any of my thoughts. Oh, would you say it's a folie de? The amount of times I said that. Ja, my dad, jean, ja, my dad. This Friday, we'll be doing our Joker in review for Faliadour. So yeah, stay tuned for all of that. It's going to be a fun time, I am sure.
Starting point is 00:00:41 But enough about I didn't introduce Andy Quetheas. Hey, I'm here as well. Opening night, I'm the only two. We're the only two people in the theater. I love it. You know, I don't think this one's going to make a billion. Let me put it that way. The first one did.
Starting point is 00:00:55 This is what I'm not so sure. I'm going to let me get a guy guy. I'm going to get a seat right in the back. Right behind us. But, hey, enough about that stuff. We don't care. We're talking about the now. The now is the kind of funny games cast.
Starting point is 00:01:09 We're reaching every weekday we get together to talk about video games, the biggest reviews, previews, and topics, all of that stuff live on YouTube, Twitch and podcast services around the globe. If you love what we do, please support us with the kind of funny membership. You can get that on YouTube or Patreon. You can get the shows ad-free. You can watch them live as we record them and you get a daily exclusive show. Gregway.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Today's Gregway, of course, is all about. it is about what you should be for Halloween do you know what you're going to be for Halloween yeah geez what do you think I'm gonna fucking be for Halloween a Ghostbuster yeah thank you very much okay wow until this kid until this kid has his own fucking opinion we're Ghostbusters yeah I'm so good I feel like he has an opinion already and I ask him what are you going to be says Ghostbuster
Starting point is 00:01:58 but that's me does he know that he could be something else yeah I say it all I'm down to be Paw Patrol yeah I'm down to be Chase. He law, dad, you're chasing. I'm Marshall and Mom Scott. I'm like, that's kind of gender specific and not cool. But okay, whatever you say kid. I'll be Chase. What are you going to be following
Starting point is 00:02:19 Andy? Are you doing anything? I heard he's going to be a chief skating. Because it's October 3rd now. So we do have getting real bold enough time. You get really cocky with just showing your credit card on camera. I dare any of you to hack me. I was telling you, I don't get it. That's not what you should say.
Starting point is 00:02:36 No, we said, it's a joke. I'm sorry. I love PC gaming. I was telling bless this the other day on games daily that I got COVID last year during Halloween and that's when I bought all my Cyro Punk stuff. I might just do it again. Good. I think you should.
Starting point is 00:02:49 I miss out. It's a right costume. You know, I spent a lot of money on it. And I was like, you know, I got to really get my, get my bang. Money. Bank for your buck. There it is. Got to get my bang on.
Starting point is 00:03:01 It is. Bless are you planning on doing anything? I'm between two things. Either I'm going to be a, a Fallout person to have my jumpsuit. Another reused costume. Yeah, a vault person. Or, but I don't think I actually wore that on a Halloween.
Starting point is 00:03:14 I think I wore that. You wore it to Kevin's party. Did I that year? You're thinking of Breaking Bad, I think, Gregi. Nope. So I'm in his Halloween costume and Kevin's party. I remember because that's one. Remember when I was like, oh, I want to build this Ghostbusters Fallout jumpsuit.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Can I borrow your thing? Because I knew you had it from when you were at Kevin's party. Here's the thing, bless. Yeah. It's not too late to try to get the journey for the abs, right? It's still not too late. It's not too late. It's not too late. It can happen, okay? I think it is too late. Just don't drink water and work out.
Starting point is 00:03:43 I'm not Batista. I don't know if he did that. And then you cut the, you cut the fallout thing, you can be a sexy fallout. And it's just like the midrift, you know? My other option is sexy Ninja Turtle. There's a group friends that are trying to go as the Ninja Turtles. Well, it's, it's Katie and her partner are, or no, her partner was like, I want to be a ninja turtle. And Katie is like, I'm here with you.
Starting point is 00:04:06 And then on the way to soccer, because they're on the soccer team. I was like, yeah, I don't know what to be. And she was like, be a ninja turtle with us. And I was like, is that sexy enough? And she's like, be a sexy ninja turtle. And I was like, how do we do that? So then I came in with the perfect pitch. Yeah, and then Greg came with the pitch.
Starting point is 00:04:19 And I've iterated on it since then. All right. So stick with me. And you have enough time to make this work. You get all green jumpsuit, skin tight jumpsuit. You know what I mean? Or you know, Lycra suit, superhero suit, right? You get tights.
Starting point is 00:04:32 That's what I'm looking for. You know, but there's very. green screen suit. Exactly. Perfect. But I don't put the thing over your head like that. That's a toilet toad.
Starting point is 00:04:39 We're using that for totally toad. So you use the green thing, right? Then get the, you know, headband or the eye band of your choice, right? For whatever, we're just going to say Donatello. We're just going to pick so I can start writers. So the purple one Donatello, right?
Starting point is 00:04:52 Then what you do is you get custom made Speedos. And this is where we're iterating on what's talking about before. Yeah. Where you pull them up and right on your ding-dong, you have the D in the thing like it's their belt.
Starting point is 00:05:03 And then on the back, ass is just the shell. Like you have it printed on the shell. Kind of like Rick Rood. Remember how Rick Rood in the 80s and WWE would have these like basically the mall t-shirts where they spray like they spray make a t-shirt? You're doing that, but just for these undies. So you're saying I spray the letter D. They're doing it. I want it to look like, you know, the D on their belts. That's why I'm saying B Donate-Talo. You know what I mean? Gotcha. At any moment I'm waiting for Greg to go, all right, I'm ready to start the show whenever you guys
Starting point is 00:05:31 It's the games cast We hang out and have fun That's on the game side Bless I have a pitch for you Because Andy got me inspired With the idea of like Oh my bless It's gonna get these sexy abs all right
Starting point is 00:05:42 Yeah yeah Sexy Shadow All right But instead of Shadow's little tummy circle You just cut it out It's just your abs. I don't have faith
Starting point is 00:05:48 That I can get abs by then Yeah I don't think I yeah Andy does I have a lot of faith in you I mean you want to join me He's convincing me
Starting point is 00:05:55 Me and you get I'm way further away than you are I don't know if you are I really am. This is the kind of funny games cast, everybody. We're already telling you all about that little housekeeping for you. You already got some new ghost of Yotai and Yotai.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Yotai. Yotay. Yotay and Assassin's Creed shadows details on kind of funny games daily. The stream after this is going to be Mike and Roger playing a game called Sulfur. Word on the streets that were announcing the release date. Oh. Very, very exciting. If you're a kind of funny member, you get the Greg way that we were talking about, which is more talk about Halloween costumes. And thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, and Delaney Twining.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Today we're brought to you by Shady Ray's, but we'll tell you all about that later. It's time to start with the topic of the show. Top of the show today is what we've been playing, but it's kind of a weird one. Because as we've been saying in a lot of different shows here, we're all playing a lot of things right now. Like, I feel like we might be playing more different games than ever that are embargoed to some extent, whether it's reviews or reviews. It's review season, baby. There's just a lot going on. Really exciting stuff.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Some things I'm very, very excited. decided to talk about. But we can't talk about them today. But we haven't playing a bunch of other things. So I'm going to issue a challenge to everybody listening as well. While we do have games to talk about, if you have any questions you want us to talk about about video games, doesn't need to be like games we're playing. Any video game questions, reader mail episode to some extent, please super chat them in.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And we will get to them throughout the show. But while you guys are getting your super chats in with those questions, I want to start with Andy Cortez. Hey. You've been playing a game called the first berser Kazan. What the hell is this? The main character is a voice you've heard before. Jason Stapham.
Starting point is 00:07:39 No, it's Clive, it's Clive Rossfield. It's Ben Starr. He's the voice of Kazan. And we've seen this game at a bunch of different presentations. This is the brand new trailer they released today. It's kind of just showing off. I guess the intro to a boss fight, maybe it's just a cinematic, but it's a, I guess on its surface, it looks like a Soulslike, right? It's got that sort of hack and slash really fast-paced action.
Starting point is 00:08:04 You are a super sexy, cell-shaded dude, beautiful, long, blonde hair. Just gorgeous face, incredible body. So ripped and chiseled, Tim. And you're taking out a lot of beasts and monsters. And it's got this, again, it's sort of like this hand-drawn, like, cell-shaded comic book sort of look to it. But it feels really unique. There's some thing about how it's being rendered that I think it just looks really damn awesome when it's in practice. in action. And I would
Starting point is 00:08:32 say that this game plays even though it's got all the trappings of a souls like with here's this big boss fight with these telegraphed attacks and any wrong move could be the last one and you'll have to die and come back or whatever.
Starting point is 00:08:48 It controls a lot and feels a lot like God of War in a way. The more recent ones, God of War 2018 and Ragnarok. You have like a long range spear that you could throw at enemies and you could charge up and build up. It also has a randomized tiered loot system,
Starting point is 00:09:07 which is very not soulslike. It is definitely going for, I'd say, more transparency with what is happening video, like design-wise in terms of like when Tim booted up Eldon Ring and he's looking up at all these terms and the menus, and he's like, man, this is just like two,
Starting point is 00:09:28 they're not breaking K-Fabe, right? I need them to break K-Fabe and tell me what this item actually does or whatever. This game is very much more user-friendly to the beginner to say like,
Starting point is 00:09:41 hey, if you upgrade endurance or whatever, here's what it's going to, here's like the actual stats that are going to improve. If you upgrade strength or I'm blanking on the other stat, but we'll just call it agility.
Starting point is 00:09:56 It's like their version of dexterity. right. It'll upgrade these four things will improve on your stat sheet and it might be item discovery or it might be stamina recovery speed. It's very very like forthright and telling
Starting point is 00:10:12 you exactly what the hell's happening game design wise. I like that. But I've found a lot of joy in the sort of randomized tiered loot because I'm so used to a lot of these Souls games just being you know, you might get an item that's just
Starting point is 00:10:28 kind of cosmetic, but in this thing, you know, you're kind of getting, here's this green armor, this blue armor is even better. It's less health or whatever. It does less defense than the white armor that you have, but this blue one also gives you plus five stamina and it's, you know, I know some people get kind of tired of all those little micro stats that can kind of feel like they go overboard, but I really enjoyed it this time around. I felt kind of fresh to experience that in a game that does feel. very soulslike because there are all the bonfires that you would expect to have, the little you know sections and checkpoints that you would want to get to and a bunch of tough enemies
Starting point is 00:11:11 in between little routes of discovery here and there. I wouldn't say the level design is doing anything crazy or anything like that, but I thought the combat felt great. You start off with these two kind of weapons. The whole premise of it, you're this dude who's like about to die or whatever and a blade spirit or something. Aren't we all right? A blade spirit sort of takes over your body
Starting point is 00:11:35 and very much like venom almost. Like Eddie, we have to go. And you're like, no, get out of my mind. Yeah. And you don't want this blade spirit
Starting point is 00:11:45 inside of your body, but it's like it's taken over and it wants to fight and it has this thirst for violence. I don't know. I wasn't really listening a whole lot, Tim. But I did enjoy the dialogue from Ben Starr.
Starting point is 00:11:55 He's killing it, of course. And this demo section that we got to preview will be available to everybody
Starting point is 00:12:05 on... Drumroll. October 11th. Ah, the Lord's Day. October 11th. Steam Next Fest. Because that's also... October 15th.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Steam Next Fest, right? Yeah, Steam Next Fest. They're doing a technical closed beta that'll be available to anybody as long as you sign up or whatever. I'm not sure how...
Starting point is 00:12:23 I'm not sure if whether it's one of those, you need to go to the website to sign up for the beta, because that is an option here. It may be just as easy as going on to Steam or whatever. Oh, wait, no, you know what? I take that back.
Starting point is 00:12:33 The technical closed beta will only be on Xbox and PlayStation. It will not be Steam. It was sort of a different... Well, what we played was only on Steam. How's the other half-live now, Steve? Well, I mean, you know, I got to play this on Steam. Is he crying? So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Yeah, this type of enclosed beta, I think they only let it be on those consoles or whatever. But for the press that kind of had early access to the build, it was like a steam only thing because that's how they wanted to give you that sort of steam access or whatever. 11th is metaphor and DBZ, by the way. Oh, really? Like how a packed that game is. Dang. That day is.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Andy, real quick. It's a rough one. Tomfire in the chat says Steam Next Fest is like every day or what? Yes. Yeah. What's the deal? There's like two Steam Next Fest. Fes a year.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Okay. They have other fess. Because right now if you go to Steam, there is a turn bit. You have other Fet. Right now it's turn-based RPG Fest. No, but no. They just be making up fests. No, but like Steam Next Fest is the big demo thing.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Steam turn-based RPG Fest. But Next Fest is the... Every day is a fucking day. Every day. It's like, it's a national boat tie day. Every, the two times a year, they have Steam Next Fest. And it's here are these upcoming games that you can play demos for. All these other things are just ways to get money from you.
Starting point is 00:13:56 where they say, hey, it's turn-based time. Hey, this new little event for a week, we're selling you, there's sales on roglights. It's always just sales or whatever. So sales versus demos. Next Fest is here are upcoming games that we want you. That's the day that every, all these like devs and publishers will drop a whole bunch of demos or whatever. So yeah, next fest, I believe, is next week.
Starting point is 00:14:19 And it runs for about a week usually. And so, yeah, I guess that's what the timing is here. I don't know if that is just a coincidence or not, but yeah. So anyway, first berserker is on. It's pretty good. I enjoyed it. I think that the, okay, Barrett brought up the graphic October 14th to the 21st, celebration of upcoming games. Andy, you know me.
Starting point is 00:14:42 You know my gaming tastes. Will I fuck with this game? I think you will, and I'll tell you why, bless. Because it is going for the same Perry breakdown system as Stellar Blade. As Liza P. As Sekiro. Where the bosses have a stagger meter where if you continuously parry them enough, that sagramita will go down. And then once the first stagromedure meter is done, the red weakness thing pops up.
Starting point is 00:15:13 And then you do your boom, boom, and you knock him down a big ass chunk. Very Securo life. Why is that so fun? Because it works on me every single time. Even Final Fantasy stuff from remake and rebirth have that where it's like you build up the stagger, boom, they're down. and you do big damage. It just feels good to do. It feels great to do.
Starting point is 00:15:28 You have parry to that? Oh. Yeah. So you could be dashing and dodging if you want or whatever, but I think this game really wants you to go for that's sort of perfectly timed, learn their patterns, parry them as much as possible, deflect or whatever you want to call it. I, and again, it's kind of weird just pairing that with this sort of random loot that I really enjoyed and I wasn't expecting myself to enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:15:52 But there's a decent amount of cool enemies. between going from boss to boss. I didn't experience all of the technical demo because I time ran out, actually. I put it on pause or I closed out. I'll say, I'll come back to go to play some more. Then I got the notification that Steam has removed this from your library or whatever. I was like, oh, damn it. But yeah, I had a great time with it.
Starting point is 00:16:14 And I think it's really sort of, it looks like it's going to be one of these Stellar Blade sort of games that lands in that pocket where it may not be doing the most story-wise or dialogue. wise. It may be kind of middling in some other areas, but the combat at least feels really, really damn good so far. Hell yeah. Had a good time with it. That's great to hear, Andy. DJ Kento Super Chats-in says, that's silly, Greg. Everyone knows
Starting point is 00:16:39 National Bowtie Days, August 28th. Nothing means nothing. Tom Marks told me about it. Nothing means anything. Nothing means. I remember when the only holidays were Christmas and Easter. Right? Take us back. That's when we believe you've got. We were a Christian, man. We were a Christian nation. Put the price back in Christmas.
Starting point is 00:16:55 man. I want to move on to some Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Impressions. Of course, I reviewed this last week. With Tom Marks. With Tom Marks, exactly. I gave it an 8.5 out of 10 on the kind of funny scale. I know a couple of the people here are playing it.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Barrett, Blessing, Andy, have all at least started the game. Bless, I know you haven't played much real quick. What are your initial thoughts on this? Yeah, I've only played I think the first hour of it. It intrigues me. Here's my thing. I am not a top-down Zelda person, surprisingly, probably to a lot of people, right?
Starting point is 00:17:30 Like, I came up, and Barrett shows up shaking his head, right? And it's not even a thing of me trying to resist top-down Zelda. It's usually been a wrong place, wrong time, right? Like, my first console growing up was in N64. And so, like, already I was born in the 3D era. I was never a, like, handheld DS person or 3DS person. And so I missed the ones that came out there. So I always just came up with 3D Zs.
Starting point is 00:17:55 delas, picking up echoes of wisdom, I played it for a bit on stream on my computer monitor. And I will be honest, the first thing I noticed was the performance. It was one of those things that shocked me because I hadn't read the reviews or listened to many people talk about it. I was kind of surprised. I was like, oh, I got to a bit of a populated area. And there were stutters where I was like, oh, man, the switch is old. The switch is an old device.
Starting point is 00:18:21 But even getting past that, right? Like, I love the art style. I love looking at this game just from a stylistic direction. I think it looks really cute. It reminds you Link's Awakening in that way. I like how much they're focusing in on, you know, copying a item in the world and then replicating it and using that to solve problems. In the first hour, it has been an adjustment in my brain of, oh, there's an enemy.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I don't have a sword. And so I guess I'm going to throw rocks at it. Oh, wait, I can spawn another enemy to then fight that enemy like its Pokemon. Oh, that's neat. but it has like, I think for me, had a bit of a slow start just trying to like wrap my mind around those things. So far, I'm not in a place where I'm like, oh man, I'm going to keep going on with it just for the fact that I have a lot of games that I'm playing and, you know, trying to balance everything. I am intrigued, but I don't know, yeah, how much further I'm
Starting point is 00:19:10 going to go with it at this point at least. Barrett, how far are you? And what are you thinking so far? Right now, I would say I'm like three hours in. I just, you know, there's like kind of the tutorial dungeon and then the game kind of early on points you to two different dungeons to start. So I went southwest to the Garudo area in the game. I am not viving with it so far. Funny enough, I was listening to the Giant Bombcast yesterday where they had Jason Shrier on and he, like,
Starting point is 00:19:43 kind of the frustrations he voiced, I think, put into like really good because I was struggling to figure out why I wasn't viving with it. I think the kind of copying mechanic in terms of combat, in terms of like fighting enemies and stuff, feels a bit slow and, like, not very engaging and not very interesting. And I think the dungeon parts of the game so far, in terms of puzzles, I am kind of looking for something a bit deeper in terms of,
Starting point is 00:20:18 of puzzles. I feel like a lot of solutions are a bit simpler. And so I think it's an interesting kind of like, you have two sides of this game. One side feels very much coming off of Tears of the kingdom with like something creative and new and weird and different in encouraging you to solve puzzles in any way you want. But then also having that combined with more classic two-d-Zelda kind of dungeon and puzzle design, I'm not. not quite feeling. But listening to the giant bomb cast, Jeff Grubb and Dan Riker also weren't feeling it
Starting point is 00:20:55 in the first opening hours. And then they got to a point where it kind of clicked for them. So it's one that, like, I'm not viving with right now, but like I want to get through at least a few more dungeons before I had just like completely kind of like walk away from it for a little bit. So, um, yeah. And I don't think it's bad or anything. It's just like, I think right now, at least in its first opening hours,
Starting point is 00:21:16 I don't think it has like the strongest star. art and it's just kind of, at least for me currently, kind of wrong place, wrong time. But I do want to stick with it. That's my thing, too, when you talk about, like, the opening to top-downs, is where I have the same thing happen where, you know, obviously, like I mentioned, I grew up, or my first console was the N64. But I did, like, my sister's own an NES that I would go back and check out. And then also, you know, I came up allegedly, possibly the emulators and shit, you know.
Starting point is 00:21:42 And so, like, I would go back and try different 2D's Zolta games. Of course, like the original Legend is Alda, the link to the past. and Link's Awakening. And I've always had the thing where it's that first hour that always gets me and I've always wanted to just like push past it. Because I'm playing it, I can tell that this
Starting point is 00:22:00 is going to build to something special and I'm going to get lost in it and I just need to like get to that point where I get lost in it. Yeah, if I can power through those first for a few hours. But that's always the struggle that I have. Another thing I want to point out that I amuse me in the first hour is like you obviously like you're playing at Zelda
Starting point is 00:22:16 right and there's like an area early where you're kind of in a dungeony kind of area and they're teaching you the mechanics and there's one room you go into where you see a bed and you can copy the bed and then you can replicate the bed in order to like hop out of things, right? There's a room you go into
Starting point is 00:22:29 where there are just beds stacked in the most awkward way and you can tell that like they're doing that to kind of let you know hey you can stack beds like on each other to create a bridge if you want to but like walking into a room and seeing beds already stacked in a way
Starting point is 00:22:43 where it's like they're stacked on each other's edges I'm like what are you doing here? No human being is stacked beds this way. What is the environmental storytelling that's going on here? Because this doesn't make any sense. In my canon, I was like, oh, somebody with this power escaped from here. It's already been here. Yeah, that's what I sort of did.
Starting point is 00:22:57 I like that. Thinking man. I'm about four or five hours in so far. I'm really, really enjoying it. I think it's like way too charming and cute and just like, it's just a lovely experience so far. But I've also experienced a lot of different puzzle moments that you put on the, Breath of the Wild Tears of the Kingdom sort of problem solving hat, right? And there was a
Starting point is 00:23:23 like a treasure chest that was kind of high above where I was and I couldn't really reach it. So I stacked up a box and anytime you want to stack up one of these items, it uses the currency from your little homie who's kind of floating around with you, right?
Starting point is 00:23:39 So a box might only cost one, but a larger box might cost two or three or whatever. So I was having a kind of like problem solve and figure out how many can I put down because I also want to spawn a little fire blob guy to then toss to try to light all this on fire. And I was able to find the right sort of combination of all three of them. So I had a little box and then I put a tree on top of the box and then I threw the fire guy at it all and the fire went up, light lit that little wooden
Starting point is 00:24:11 thing on fire. The treasure box, the treasure chest fell down. And I was like, man, this is this is so sick. love that it's essentially, you know, when we heard them talking about future Zelda games and saying, yeah, but we don't know if we'll ever go back to the old style because we just find so much freedom and like we love designing a game where you can kind of just problem solve however you want. This feels like a perfect kind of melding of those two ways of thinking and designing a game where is it going to be a pure linear Zelda game or are we going to go with a hey, this game, this world is sort of just like a sandbox you can do whatever the hell you want with whatever abilities you want.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I think so far I'm really, really enjoying the melding of the two. I do wish that this ultra-hand sort of comparative power that you have, I wish you could rotate and do more with it. I don't love that you're just kind of stuck in that direction. The thing with that is I was with you, and I said this in the review as well, but as the game progresses, I learn to appreciate it because it becomes,
Starting point is 00:25:16 part of the design of not being able to do that. Like I feel like has creative puzzle solutions that you have to figure out of like being limited by that. It's like how the hell am I going to get this up here? Like I'm just not on the right level. And then you have to use all your different tools. And in the later game, having to combine them in ways that I thought were like pretty damn creative.
Starting point is 00:25:36 And the coolest thing with the creativity is like even watching this trailer. And over the last week, I've been watching people stream the game just like click it around and checking in on things. And people are using the tools in ways that I. I never even thought of and like never experienced at all in my play through the game. And that's kind of cool. Yeah, I've already had that sort of same feedback that when everybody was playing Tuesdays of the Kingdom and I'd be streaming it and going through a shrine and you'd have five people go,
Starting point is 00:26:00 I did it this way. What the fuck are you doing, Andy? Why did that work? How did that work? Like there's already, I've already experienced that several times where there's a very kind of almost an obvious way to do things. But my dumb brain not noticing the obvious way, just doing shit another way and trying to to make the game work according to how I wanted to work and trying to solve that puzzle.
Starting point is 00:26:22 And I really appreciate it for the freedom in all these tools that they're sort of giving you. And so far, I'm having a really great time. I think it's super charming. I think it's really funny in a lot of moments. These characters have just really fun back and forth. I appreciate the dialogue. I love the look of it. I agree with Bless, though.
Starting point is 00:26:41 I think I'm experiencing less frame rate issues handheld because when you play Doc, tries to put it up to 1080p and that causes a lot more frame rate issues. But playing handheld yesterday with this sort of heatway we've got going an SF right now, I put that, I moved the AC from the stream room into my bedroom, and I just like, I'm not going to walk into my stream room at all. I'm just going to play Zelda in the bed with the AC on the little window unit, and had a freaking great time with it. Yeah, hearing about you being that far in,
Starting point is 00:27:09 and like the experiences of solving a puzzle one way and having people in Chapby, like, oh, I didn't even think about doing that. I did this way. That's the thing that makes me want to push through. Same. I'm hoping, like, I have a possible trip I'm coming, I'm going on soon that maybe if I can take my switch with me and just make that the thing I'm focused on. I'd be, I think that's, like, I wish I could have played this on a plane. Like, they would have like made a plane just like, playing on go.
Starting point is 00:27:32 And that's my whole thing where I cannot wait to play this, but I'm putting it off to that New York trip in November. I've decided. I think by then, originally that was my idea of like, well, maybe that's why I play Dragon Age on PC. So I can steam deck it there, but we should have reviewed codes. I should be well, three. that by that point. So right now in this heat of review season, we're literally you have to budget out all of your time to figure out what you're playing for what embargo. I look at everything I've seen here and I cannot wait to play that. It looks so much fun. One thing I want
Starting point is 00:27:56 to shout out is even in the first hour that I played, the music is off the chain. Oh, yeah. It is so good. It is such a good soundtrack so far. Yeah. Which isn't surprised. Like this is this is the same, this is the same team that did the Link's Awakening remake and like that style that they were able to play around with in the Link's Awakening remake. I think they know what they're doing in terms of like making their own type of Zelda game in all sorts of aspects and that music. Oh, it's good. There is just also something about the charm of it being a Zelda game, right?
Starting point is 00:28:28 And I know a lot of people will look at it and say if it didn't have Zelda smacked on the box or whatever. It was just any other, you know, swap out what that character looks like and just call it something else. you all wouldn't like it as much. And I think back to my time with a Plucky Squire and kind of playing through what can be very, very similar sort of gameplay loops of you have this sort of top-down 3D character walking around, slashing stuff with a sword. And I'm playing Zelda.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I'm like, why am I enjoying this so much more than I was a Plucky Squire? Why is that? And I think Pluggy Squire just kind of like maxed out really early on for me. it never really reached those highs again. And I found myself kind of underwhelmed with what the rest of that experience was. I agree 100%.
Starting point is 00:29:15 And there's just something about the music, the art style, this sort of like total package that Nintendo has put together that just makes it awesome to be in. Like I'm smiling the whole time because it's, it just feels good to look at and to play, you know. Yeah, really, really special game. I think people should definitely check it out. Just like they should check out this word from our sponsor.

That's ShadyRase.com and use code kind of funny for 50% off two or more pairs of shades of shades. shades. And we're back. I want to get to some of the super chat that y'all have sent in. AK just sends in one saying just got an analog pocket. Any must play recommendations?
Starting point is 00:30:54 Before I jump in, you guys have any Game Boy recommendations? Terminator 2. Don't ever beat it. One day. I mean, I'm assuming you played Pokemon. Yeah, Pokemon obviously is the easy answer. I feel like we got to make that a Patreon goal of Greg. He finally beat. I have the car. I have the car. People sent it. to me. When Eric Castro sent me a modded Game Boy was the first thing I popped in to play. The analog pocket's awesome. It's like one of the most gorgeous screens
Starting point is 00:31:18 in the entire world. I feel like some of the Game Boy games that I would recommend are Pokemon Pinball, which is a slightly lesser known, still popular, but like great game. And Donkey Kong, 94 is the one that like is such a damn good game and it's really special.
Starting point is 00:31:35 And then on the GBA, the Astro Boy game, not Astro Bot. Is that his name is Astrobo? Yeah, Astroboy. The Astroboy GBA game is definitely like a cult classic, like, sleeper hit of the GBA era. I think G.B. And G.B. Color games look better on that all the pocket than GBA just because of the screen resolution.
Starting point is 00:31:55 But, yeah. Barrett, what do you got? I was going to ask you if it played GBA games because I was a little unfamiliar with what the pocket does. I want to recommend the Lilo and Stitch GBA game because that game was super fucking underrated. It was like a fun little. side-scroller kind of shooter. I'm trying to think of what type of... Oh, Mario Golf.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Yeah, like side-scrolling, platforming, but you're running around as stitch, shooting a bunch of shit. It's fun. I didn't even think about the GBA for Analog Pocket. In that case, I mean, if you've not played Wario Ware, warrior-ware is probably one of my favorite GBA games. Ooh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:32 And, I mean, there's a lot of, like, great suggestions that people would give you that I've not checked out, things like Golden Sun. Yeah, golden Sun's great, and it looks great on the, I don't know, pocket as well. Stream Ghostbusters.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Don't forget that. GBA games. Oh, come on now. If we're done making jokes. Yeah. We got James Marani saying, hey, KF, crew, what's everyone's comfort food game?
Starting point is 00:32:53 I just got back into vampire survivors and my god, this game is glorious. What a great question. Yeah, vampire survivors is a great pick. That is one that I do find myself going back to a lot of my Steam deck. Now on my PlayStation, on my switch on my phone,
Starting point is 00:33:07 when there is like that down moment of like, don't want to get in. I only have 10 minutes. I have 15, whatever. But it's also, those runs can go so long now. I often pop out on that. For me, comfort food to go back to, I would always say, in recent times, Diablo, right?
Starting point is 00:33:21 Diablo 4 has always got a new season going on. I'm usually working on the battle pass. I'm usually running through. Obviously, Vessel of Hatred is next week. Our review is tomorrow. Zanth is coming in, or digitally, to join us to review Vessel of Hatred because we have been playing that. We're allowed to say.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Man, beyond that, I think, you know, I think Starfield will continue to be that, too, where I'll probably continue to want it. Like, it's already in this past year been that way where it's like, I really just want to go quest. I really just want to go do that. Plus. I mean, this year specifically, I'll say Balatro and Tekken.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Both of those have been like my fallback. Oh man, all right. I just want to sit in my PlayStation, play something that's not maybe like a single player of story or whatever. Okay, let me boot up some matches in Tekken. Let me boot up Balatro. And Balochro, especially for plane flights, has been incredible.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Like, that'll make a 45-minute flight to L.A. or like a two hour of flight, feel like absolutely nothing. So Balatro is huge. If I'm just talking about in general, over my lifetime, FIFA. FIFA is like an easy, all right,
Starting point is 00:34:18 let me get in one game. Okay, let me get in like, you know, a couple online matches. And again, one that I'm always going to have fun with. And I gotta kind of be careful with
Starting point is 00:34:25 because that can turn a 10-hour playtime into 100 hours over the course of months. Like what happened with FIFA. I think it was 23 for me. So yeah, the same thing with WWE, right, the 2K games.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I feel like I never delete those. and I'm always checking in, obviously for the big DLC, or DLC drops, but randomly I was fine, let's go do a match, let's go do this, let's go for them.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Yeah, I don't have any, like, interesting answer, because I feel like everyone would expect everything I'm about to say, but Mario 64,
Starting point is 00:34:51 any Smash Brothers, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 remake, and Hades are all games that, and Spider-Man, just swinging around Spider-Man. Like, those are all things that, like,
Starting point is 00:35:00 at least once a month, I just see it on whatever console I'm playing. I'm playing a new game for a review. And I'm like, well, I'm gonna pop in here, get a couple stars in 64, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:35:09 And it's just like that to me is the definition of just comfort food. I'm just like it just I still find them so enjoyable for the experiences I've done hundreds of times. This year it's probably Fields of Mysteria. Nice. Um, I, I need to find less stressful comfort food games because like it's,
Starting point is 00:35:26 if I didn't have Fields of Mystery, it's usually like, it's late at night. I just want to play something, but I don't want to hop into a story. I didn't play a match of Valerine. And it's just, the most like scuffed experience you've ever had in your life.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Like it's just people, you know, the type of game where the next time you log in, you get notifications that those players you reported were banned. You know, that type of experience. Just people saying awful shit. It's like, why am I doing it? Why did I, it's never a good decision. I'll say that.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Like, I love Valerin, but man, it really is the equivalent of the late night ordering of playmen hot fries at, you know, 11 p.m. on a Friday and then on Saturday, I'm like, why did I do? I didn't need that bag of hot fries. It was good, but I didn't need it. It's the equivalent of like a Valoran match
Starting point is 00:36:15 where you just regret it afterwards because it's one in the morning. Like, fuck, now I'm on game three and I've lost three in a row and I've deranged. Why did I decide to do this? Probably not comfort food in the same way, but I was scrolling on TikTok the other day and I saw a TikTok live of somebody.
Starting point is 00:36:33 They were playing Persona 5 and they were just like in the bedroom area, which is like where you save and go to sleep and stuff. Hot. And I was like, oh man, that's fucking sexy. Morgana, what are you watching? We're going to watch a video. What are you doing step Morgana?
Starting point is 00:36:48 But they were just standing around in persona. And I had like just a like, I think strong feeling of like, I guess maybe nostalgia is what it is, even though the game came out in 2017, which. It's seven years ago. Seven years ago, which I guess, yeah, that makes sense to be nostalgic for something seven years ago, even though that doesn't feel that long.
Starting point is 00:37:06 But it was just like a feeling of, oh man, that was a good time. Like, the time's playing for Sona 5, like, that makes me feel good. Just see, like, just seeing like a Stain still screen of it. Ooh, another one, Hyperlight Drifter. I have that game installed everywhere. Like, I still have it on my Steam Deck and everything. And there's something about hopping into that world. And I love the combat so much, but it's also that soundtrack from disaster piece, I believe.
Starting point is 00:37:29 It's such a just, it's just like soundscapes. There's no real, like, there's not a whole lot of music with, like, beats or anything. It's just, we want you to feel this right now. And, like, that's a really good game to kind of just zone out on, just kind of hack and slash and shoot stuff. Every now and then, I'll defeat the first Colossus and Shadow Colossus. Like, that's another. I like that's similar, I think, to, like, the Marix 64 thing.
Starting point is 00:37:52 I'm like, let's just get in here. Just a little, you know. Because that takes not that long. It takes like 10 minutes. I forget who it was. It was somebody on Twitter, not our Ratic, but the other Ratic that has the clank icon, I think. who tweeted like, sometimes I just kick on Infamous 2
Starting point is 00:38:06 to go glide around New Moray and I was like, that's awesome because it's how great that trivers I felt. Same thing with Spider-Man, right? It's like just to go out
Starting point is 00:38:13 in websling. When I first played Bloodbored and was just terrified at every turn and like I'd be talking with Tam about it and he'd be like, dude, BloodBorn's a game I play every year. Like it's my comfort food.
Starting point is 00:38:27 I was like, how the fuck can you play this? And now just always be stressed out this game is like terrifying. and prep in for the streams that I had earlier a couple months ago, I would just find myself hopping back in for the hell. I'm like, oh, this, I get it now. This is that comfort food for me now where I just, I love just like swiping away.
Starting point is 00:38:46 It's like, and I would find myself at close to midnight still be playing. I'm like, why am I still playing? Like, I'm not doing anything. Like, I don't have a goal right now. I'm just kind of like playing Bloodborn still. I should just turn this off. But it just feels good to kind of exist in that word. You know? Have you ever played Shadow the Colossus?
Starting point is 00:39:04 I rented it. I redboxed it and I never like fully beat it. The PS2 one like the yeah we got to get Andy on the remit. You got to play the PS4 one like I feel like that is very Blue Point great work yeah like the combat not so much like you know that's not what the point of the game is though but I feel like everything about the game is so Andy yeah modern 2024 Andy like yeah we got to figure out like a lot of the reason why I love Eldon Ring and why like I'm into from software games currently is, I think, based off the things I like about Shadow and Eco. I remember being
Starting point is 00:39:36 my first E3 being in that behind closed doors thing, seeing Shadow the Colosses from BluPoint there and being like, holy shit, it looks really damn good. It's really impressive visually. That's a blue point. DJ Kento writes in with an analog pocket suggestion, a really
Starting point is 00:39:52 good one. Metal Gear solid for the Game Boy caller. It captures the vibes of the MGS game so well and holds up incredibly well for its limitations. This one's called ghost babble, which I always thought was a cool set of words. I, again, to the TikTok thing, I was scrolling through TikTok lives, and there was
Starting point is 00:40:08 one where somebody was playing, like, Pokemon Blue or Red, and I had an insane, like, mental thing of, wait, these games look like this? Like, when I played this as a kid, it felt like a grand fucking adventure. And legitimately, I was like, were these black and white when they came out? Like, this is insane.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Oh, yeah. I have a correction. I never read boxed child Clawses I rented it from the Hollywood video Wow They had a little section called like Game Zone Yeah
Starting point is 00:40:38 Yeah dude is exactly that There was chaneling fence And all that I remember that You all had Hollywood videos? Yeah Oh shit I did I thought that was like more of a Texas thing
Starting point is 00:40:50 Oh yeah dude Hollywood and Blockbuster There was beef in these streets Oh okay because like Blockbuster we never really had Like we only ever had Well because we had freeze frame and FreeStraim was like once that, once Hollywood kind of moved into town it was like FreeSframe just lost
Starting point is 00:41:06 all their shit. But FreeZam was one that had the second story and that's where the scary movies were and the boobs like there. There's a lot of like porn movies up there. But Hollywood video was the one that had that little games cage thing with a fenced. Did y'all have family video? That was the one that I had. Yeah, we had family videos. Family video like one.
Starting point is 00:41:23 I think we might have had more family videos in Champaign, Illinois. At least when I was a kid, Game Crazy. That's what it was. Yeah, Game Crazy. Game crazy. So, yeah, family videos where I went to, like, rent. It was a wave race and, what was the other one? Paper Mario 64.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Hell, yeah. If you're gonna game, game crazy. What were you all loyal to the most? Blockbuster. Family video. It was while we had, it was Hollywood. So here's the thing, where I lived. I feel like we went everywhere and we had no loyalty.
Starting point is 00:41:48 There was an H-E-B across the street, a McDonald's, and a Hollywood video. And I was like, that's all I need, Big Doc. My house was two blocks from a 7-11 and a blockbuster. I was living big. sick of shit. Yeah, for me, I remember, you know, Blockbuster was that chain. They were the breakout ones that, you know, put the family stores out of business, but so like, but as a kid,
Starting point is 00:42:08 you don't think about that or care, really. So it was just, there was an awesome video store. So when Hollywood video showed up, it was like, get the fuck out of here, fucking Pepsi. Nobody wants it. You know what I? I felt that way in the Hollywood, too. But they got the exclusives every once in a while, and they had the cooler things. I was like, oh, I don't like that. Trevor, Super Chatteeing and talking about Zelda a little bit, saying, I don't have much
Starting point is 00:42:27 experience with Legend of Zelda, have only played Breath of Wild in tears, but I've loved my experience with Echoes of Wisdom in my first few hours. Yeah, I feel like it very much, I said this in the review as well, but like it, to me, feels more like the tiers of the Kingdom games than a traditional top-down Zelda game.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Definitely a mix, but like I was expecting this to be oh, this is like a sequel to Wings of the Past, Link's Awakening, and having beat it, I don't feel that way at all. I love that Zelda has a little dodge roll, like not a role, but like just a little
Starting point is 00:42:59 side dash. It's so great. And then I was like, why does Leon Kennedy have one on R.E. 4? It's crazy. It's fucking crazy. She's more nimble. Let's see, what else we got here? We got some good ones. Michael Berg writes insane. His comfort game is the Dishonor series. I play them once
Starting point is 00:43:17 a year and I still find new routes to explore. Good. And the Deer Sixthlet writes one in that like this, let's just give our gut answers because I feel like this could be a whole game's cast to itself and it definitely will be. First thing that comes to your head, Andy. First thing that comes to your head. Go Tim. I've cleared his head. Tim. What's your pipe dream never going to happen announcement? Mine would be something like Dark Cloud 3 or a Simpsons hit and run remake.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Okay, well, you took my answers. Padeo Kijima returns to Metal Gear. I mean, oh, that's for both those, yeah. Hideo Kajima returns to Metal Gear. Yeah. Andy. That's so good. I can't clear my mind and just say something like that. How do you do that? It's impressive. You'd be surprised how little's going on up here. I rewatched, I was working on some sponsor pitch thing recently And I was looking at our game awards last year And me and Andy reacting to Greg When Jordan Peel comes out of that fucking door
Starting point is 00:44:12 Bing, bonged me. I love it where there's the new You see your wheels clicking in a place of like you hear it And then you both are right It's one of the best things ever Because me and just look at each other And have this moment of like Is this really happening?
Starting point is 00:44:24 And they'll like shit eating Greg Miller The shitty being Grin' Greg had. Oh my God. Never forget. The camera cut to you was bullshit. It was insane. That was the one thing that I had to engineer. Because as I've talked about it before, it was me, it was Jen, and then it was George from
Starting point is 00:44:39 Popa Genda. And the camera was on George. I was very clearly over, but I was like, I was like, ah! Like, I drew it. Like, I had to steal George's moment to make the moment for you guys at home. Wow. Jet Force Gemini returns. That would be less.
Starting point is 00:44:54 If that happened, like I... It's never going to happen. I would be so happy for you. I might shed tears. I honestly, I think that you will. That is like such a for you announcement. Like that's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Um, I've been given everything in my life. Like I can't believe I've got the crash games. I've gotten Smash Ultimate. Everyone is here. Like there's just been Tonyos one and two amplitude. Like it's been so good to be two Gettys. That's a great point. I mean,
Starting point is 00:45:17 obviously every I joke. Often you're living in my universe and I'm sorry everybody that so much is wrong. But like so much is right with Ghostbusters, right? It would be like another never going to happen thing. give me a Superman game that is the cast of Smallville. They were doing the voices, right? They're always trying to get this cartoon off the ground that they're talking about. I'd be like way cooler if WB
Starting point is 00:45:34 games would get their head out of their fucking asses. They'd make a Superman game. But for me, the things left would be Animusha. I want an Animusha, do it right. A new one with Saminowski as the lead. I'd lose my shit. And more than anything, my dream
Starting point is 00:45:50 and then this... What's up? You would beat your first souls like. Because that's exactly what it would be. No, no, I mean... I don't think so. They did keep it more in line with, like, the R.E. Remake type stuff. Audi Moosh is more of a Resident Evil game.
Starting point is 00:46:08 I feel like there would be a lot of that DNA in there. Oh, you did be Fall in Order, though. Yeah. And we saw that list, that shit list, right? Bear, that it was number one or whatever. Yeah. But the unfortunate answer for me of, like, something that's never going to happen is a good Star Fox game again.
Starting point is 00:46:27 You know what I mean? A good one? That's my thing. I feel like we're going to get another, but I don't have faith that's going to be good. I know it can be. I know it should be. Nintendo's in their second prime currently. All they have to do is announce to Star Fox, and it's like, oh, that's going to be a good one.
Starting point is 00:46:42 What does Nintendo miss aside from the times they've missed recently? Yeah. Well, my problem is they missed so hard with the last Star Fox. So hard. Yeah, but that was Wii U-era on Nintendo. They weren't trying. Man. That's all the games that they ported in here.
Starting point is 00:46:53 We don't need to get into that. Barrett, what do you got? Batman Beyond Game in the Arkham universe How did they fuck that up? How did they fuck that up? It should have been so easy And they just say, hey, Suicide Squad, that's not real.
Starting point is 00:47:07 Alternate universe. Yeah, alternate universe. And you have, I know it's complicated with Jesus, why am I blanking on his name? Who voices Batman, Greg? Oh, Kevin Conroy. Kevin Conroy. And Roger Craig Smith.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Yeah, you have Roger Craig Smith do old Batman. And Terry McGinnis, played by Andy Cortez. Oh wow. Okay, first off, I love that, but like, we still got Wilferdell. Just get him in there. Oh, he's sick.
Starting point is 00:47:34 And then the other one is Chrono Trigger HD2D remake. Oh, yeah. Now, very, you get it, man. I have more faith than everyone with how bad Squares doing with all the financials. Dude, just fucking, it's pulled it. I'm worried that it's not going to be an HD2D remake.
Starting point is 00:47:51 I'm worried that they're going to, like, do, not the full extent of like a Final Fantasy 7 remake, but like get rid of the pixel art style and stuff, which I think is like too beautiful to move on. Yeah, I'm with you. I hope not. Another one for me. In the way that with last game awards,
Starting point is 00:48:07 we got the Sega announcement of like all the Sega revivals and like getting crazy taxing jet set. I love a similar trailer, but it's just EA Sports big where it is, like they do a trailer at Game Awards and you see like, yeah, it's NBA Street, it's NSX, it's SSX, like just all just in front of you just FIFA Street, all this shit, I'd be
Starting point is 00:48:26 hyped. I think it'd be awesome to get a like the Tolkien estate and from software, Shay Kansas let's make a really awesome Lord of the Rings game. Just set in that universe, I don't know what the hell it's about. I think it's I think it'd be really sick just to
Starting point is 00:48:42 have Miyazaki sort of involved with that sort of IP. And another one I don't know what game I should choose here, but I just want a Returnal-style game, but it's either Mega Man or Metroid. Just third person, just bullet hell, you know, all that.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Mega Man that way. Just give me a Returnal, too, honestly. Give me Returnal two, man. I'm so excited to see the secret level Mega Man episode. Because, like, what's that going to be? And what, because I feel like... What if it conjures something? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Like, the little we've seen of it, it's like, oh, this looks different than anything we've seen from Mega Man before. Are they trying something? and I'm like, I feel like it can turn it into something. Because I think it's just one of those IP that I didn't expect to get that sort of treatment. And I'm with you. It's like what, why even attempt this IP in particular? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:39 All the other ones I kind of get. Like, I understand why the other ones are being sort of, you know, worked on or whatever. But Mega Man is the one that really sticks out to me. And speaking of that, though, we did watch the trailer yesterday and it ended with Pac-Man. And Pac-Man looks fucking. wild. There's like one shot of Pac-Man, it's like, how did you even explain it? I don't know, like a toy or something?
Starting point is 00:50:00 There's just like this metal metallic ball and it opens up. It looks like it's a fucking cannon out of his mouth. It's like, okay. I'm excited for this show. Oh man, it's gonna be so sick. Kabab says, open world OG Dragon Ball game made by Gorilla Games. Wow.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Okay. Yeah. Secret. And J.B. writes and says Returnal, but make it Mega Man. Yeah. One that I've been like asking for that I'll never get is a like a From Soft fighting game that's either developed by, I'll give it to either Arxis because Arxas knows what they're doing, or if you can give it to the Soul Calibur team, because I think
Starting point is 00:50:32 the Soul Calibur aesthetic. That's actually really smart. Soul caliber aesthetic matches the Elder Ring aesthetic. A soul's like, oh wow. If you like sit down and think about souls and Eldon Ring and how the similarities between that and a Soul Calibre universe, they would nail making a fighting game out of those characters. And it's me like playing as
Starting point is 00:50:47 Lady Maria, fighting as God Rick, or fighting versus Goderick, right? I think you could take a lot of that cast, translate them really well to a fighting game cast. This is one of the most inspired ideas I think we've ever come up with on this show. Congratulations. You just did it. You just did it.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I thought about it for a soul still burns. CJ splits on says new twisted metal with dual sense and GT7 like graphics. Oh man. I think we were close and now I think we're far. Homey didn't even show up an Astrobot. What the fuck is up with that, man? What?
Starting point is 00:51:16 No sweet dude. Spoilers. It's not fucking spoilers. That's crazy. Obsetting. how? Yeah, it is kind of crazy. They got pyramid head in that bitch.
Starting point is 00:51:27 You couldn't get the clown guy. Just save some stuff. You know, save some stuff for your DLC. You'll get your Final Fantasy and you'll get your Sweet Tooth. Okay, yeah. I don't think we'll get Final Fantasy. Maybe Sweet Tooth.
Starting point is 00:51:40 Dude Six and says, oh, Tim, Final Fantasy X3. I mean, that's Dreams Beyond Dreams. That would have happened a long time ago if it was going to. I think we need to give up on that idea. A Final Fantasy 10 remake. again, Square wants money. I think that that's what we might need to do. I want a Death Store, too.
Starting point is 00:52:00 It's not like a Dreams Beyond Dream. I think a game's that I really enjoy that I want follow-ups on, and that's one. I would like a Katana Zero, too. Oh, man. We need it. They teased it like a couple of years or a couple months ago. Still being worked on.
Starting point is 00:52:16 It's still out there. I want Delta Rune to come out fully. Fuck. Oh, that's going to be in a decade. Andy, I was thinking about this yesterday, funny enough, if you were to give the Death's Door team an IP that isn't Zelda, what would you have to make? Man, that's, I mean, you chose the one.
Starting point is 00:52:36 Because it being this top-down sort of, but then whenever I'd see that Pink Sword, I'd be like, oh, man, I just wanted Hyperlight the Drifter sequel to be a top-down 3D version of whatever it already was. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's sort of so good. Are we allowed to talk about the reveal at the end of Liza P?
Starting point is 00:52:54 Yes. Yes. I've given you permission. Spoilers for like the post credit scene, Liza P. I can't believe that that's a thing that they're teasing. And I want that so bad. And we're still giving you time to turn this off, by the way, for anybody who doesn't want spoilers.
Starting point is 00:53:11 Like an Oz, Soulslike? I love that you're Oz Pilled now, boy. I'm so Oz. I'm watching Wicked. Dude, Wicked has changed the chemistry of my brain. Dude. I'm so into Oz right now, man. Well, I have so many recommendations.
Starting point is 00:53:23 I love the Wizard of Oz, which is a weird tidily. I didn't know that about you. Oh, like, Wizard of Oz was like, since I was young, like before Transformers, obsessed with Wizard of Oz, and it just stayed throughout a lot of my young age. There's a comic series.
Starting point is 00:53:39 I think IDW, they came out in like 2012 or so. Fucking phenomenal. The art style, off the chain, story, awesome. Also, there's so many Oz stories that are dope as shit.
Starting point is 00:53:49 I was telling about return to Oz the movie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gotta watch that. You've never seen the WIS. Yeah, I've never seen the whiz. I got to watch the whiz. There's a lot of great whiz. It's a weird segment.
Starting point is 00:54:00 No, it's okay, sorry, it's not this. Let me, I'll try to find it because, like, the art style is like super sick. Yeah, so for the people who don't know and were confused about what happens at the end of Liza P. You see, you hear like somebody walk in and then the camera pans up and it's two red sparkling shoes. And they go, boop, they kind of like. took together. Maybe, no fucking way. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:25 That's awesome. Can we give it to bear it? I'm going to find the video because we should watch this. I want to see how you guys reacted. Yeah. That was, I knew that something happened at the end of that game because people, you know, I think Rebecca Valentine and other people who had already beaten it and reviewed it
Starting point is 00:54:42 were talking about just how Buck Wilde this post-credit sequence was. And I, with that knowledge going into it, was still like, what the fuck? It was awesome. When I return. Oh, thank you. I'll bury you. I will find her. For sure.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Another key of ours. Dorothy. Come on. That's great. Now, here's the thing. I got chills. I beat it before Andy. And I don't, I think I was like the most ahead person that I had talked to.
Starting point is 00:55:27 Like, no, like, I don't know anybody that was ahead of me. So I wasn't getting hints of there was going to be post credits or anything kind of crazy. I was in my room. When that happened, when I tell you. My mind melted. I couldn't believe my eyes. I was going crazy and I had nobody to text. I didn't know anybody else that was that far yet.
Starting point is 00:55:44 So I was like, what the fuck. So it was the Marvel series, is what I was talking about. The wonderful Wizard of Oz. The wonderful Wizard of Oz. Sick. Look at Toto, man. He's just out here in these damn...
Starting point is 00:55:52 God, I'm so excited for the Slides of P. D.L.C. It's not going to be about that, but I just... Do you think we're going to get the Wizard of All's Lies of P? Because like, that to me is like, all right, maybe that's the... Oh, yeah. The Lies of the Wizard? I...
Starting point is 00:56:04 Absolutely. I think the game is like successful enough and good enough that it It doesn't just feel like this gimmick anymore I think so many people were surprised by the quality of that game and thinking that it was just going to be this joke of a Here's a Souls game and you're playing Pinocchio. What a stupid concept And once people play it, we're like oh shit, this is actually really awesome I think it's we're gonna get Liza P for a long time. I feel and like I don't know it's gonna sound like a crazy statement I love it go for it But a Wizard of Oz, soul's like, it makes itself, dude.
Starting point is 00:56:37 It sounds awesome. It makes itself. Are you kidding? The world of Oz is deep as hell, man. There's so many cool, like, already there's villains. There's characters. There's areas. Like, oh, they got stuff.
Starting point is 00:56:46 You're going to get a 10-man boss fight. You're going to get a fucking, you know, lion boss fight. You're going to fight the scarecrow. Yeah. Blind monkeys, man. Come on. Dude, you're going to. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:56:56 It's going to be so good. The flying monkeys are going to be the most annoying enemies in the game, by the way. They're going to be so hard to, like, I can't reach up there. It's going to be one of those fights plus. at once you have to fight for the boss fight. I hate that. All share one shared health bar. I'm fucking swinging over the munchkins. Little Redden lore says
Starting point is 00:57:14 a Harry Potter game made by the persona team. Oh. Oh, like this just, okay. I see the little vibe, social dynamics and all that stuff. I feel like Hogwarts Legacy probably fulfills that enough. But I feel like the style of the persona stuff, right? Yeah, that it's a different, different vibe. Get that UI, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Well, what a fun topic. this has been. Again, I'm sure we'll revisit this at some point because there is endless answers that we could give to games that we don't think we'll ever get announced, but really hope, do. Let us know in the comments below, what game you would lose your shit over if it got announced. Plus, remember when Sora was announced to being Smash Brothers and me and you transcended to another realm? What a moment. What a moment, man. Video games are cool, everybody. Speaking of video games being cool, we're about to announce the release date of a cool video game on the stream that Roger and
Starting point is 00:58:04 and Mike are about to do playing a game called Solfer. So check that out. If you're on Twitch, you can just stay right where you are. If you're on YouTube, you need to make the jump to a different video. But either way, I love you. I appreciate you. Have a great day. Call it no place like home. Oh, my God.
