Spider-Man.
This July, we're faced

The world may have forgotten Peter Parker.
I'm just a neighbor,
friendly neighbor.
But he hasn't forgotten them.
Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing.
That's my responsibility.
Talk to Banner?
I didn't know you could get that big.
Spider-Man, brand new day.

I want your host, blessing Adioia Jr., alongside the vessel, Snowbike Mike.
Bless, what up?
Great to see you.
Morning.
Happy Friday, big cats.
Happy Friday.
How are you doing this Friday?
I'm feeling really good.
Thank you.
Got out of the Z-hole.
That's my Zelda experience.
Of course.
Congratulations.
Five Zelda games.
Unbelievable.
But bless, I'm feeling really good.
Nice.
You know.
I like the jacket.
Thank you, Big Cat.
Thank you, Big Cat.
Trying to raise my fashion game as well.
It's good.
Just know that we have a hundred days until kind of funny top.
And you live your life 100 days at a time.
Thank you.
Just like a gotcha.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Just like a lot of.
That's great.
And so just prepare.
My fashion game could could go anywhere.
Go anywhere.
I'm 100 days to figure it out.
Like we'll get there.
We'll get there.
I'm going to bring some looks.
Yes.
Let me stall you.
I got you.
You know what?
Blessing style Mike's day.
Yes.
I like that.
I like that.
To the left of Mike to your right,
I think,
is the LaCroy Poppy.
Tim.
well well geties happy birthday Disneyland
oh 17th oh okay I don't know which one would it be 71 I guess
because they made a big old deal about 70 last year so it must be 71
you know or did they do that thing where they fucked up they're like oh man
we missed the last we missed so let's just celebrate 70 even though it's some other shit
sometimes sometimes I can't keep track my own family members birthdays
yeah for the fact that you're like Disneyland happy 71st birthday
come on I mean those birthdays and next to him of course we have the nitre rifle
Andy Cortez.
Hello, good morning.
Morning, Andy.
How's it going?
I'm all right.
I'm all right.
I'm all right.
I like how Mike says, I'm going to step up my fashion game.
Yeah.
And then it says, it could go anywhere.
So that kind of intimates it.
It could go real badly, too.
Well, like, I'm definitely bringing back the circular glasses and the overalls.
That's going to be a themed day.
You know what I mean?
Blessing gets a theme day.
Blessing styles, Mike.
There's definitely going to be a coach Mike all track suit day.
So that's going to happen, you know?
Uh-huh.
Is that stepping up your fashion game?
I'm like, I'm like that's the greatest
tips.
That's what you'll call.
I'm not going to the eras.
Do you have any fashion icons?
Do you have anybody you look up to in the fashion world?
Yeah, Russell Westbrook and Travis Kelsey.
Okay, I saw you wore a skirt to the SPs.
Yeah, yeah, you know, inspired.
If I had a million dollars, if I had a bunch of money like...
It'd be gone with that and within three days.
I would be doing great to shit.
Where's the sign?
The sign is...
It's 205 miles away from us right now, Tim.
But get this, I'm going up this weekend.
I'm going to make a 400-mile round-trip drive to go get this sign.
Boys, Denham will be here on content.
Andy, Les.
What are the chances that that happens?
You think we see this sign?
I think there's a higher chance, Mike, does the trip, doesn't bring the sign.
You know?
No, but you got to understand.
You saying this now is going to make him want to prove you wrong.
He does everything out of spite.
He does everything out of spite.
He does everything out of spite, but I could see his side.
seeing it finally in person, realizing how big it is and being like, I don't, I have no
earth. What am I going to do? Yeah, what am I going to do with this? Yeah, I'm going to lose a waste of
money. Leaving near a bush. He said, don't step in my car with those poop shoes. And I said,
all right. He told him. He said, I'll put him in a Ziploc bag. Timmy had a sandwiched
Ziploc bag for my shoes. He's a big shoes he has. Who's this? Nick Scarfino. Oh,
this is when Mike stepped in shit. Yeah. I, for some reason, I thought you were talking about the guy you
bought the sign. No, no.
Wait, I need more. Let me learn more about this.
Of course, if you're watching live, be a part of the show by super chatting in over on YouTube.com slash kind of funny games.
What I want to know from you, what are your most anticipated games of this fall?
Remember, we couldn't do this with our producers over on patreon.com slash kind of funny.
So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Somme Twining and Lax Nomad.
I didn't forget about you.
Always.
We love you, Lex.
For now, let's begin with topic of the show.
Tots.
our most anticipated fall games.
We're having this conversation, of course.
We're always talking about what games are we looking forward to for the rest of the year.
I wanted to have fun with this conversation.
And so we're doing a fall games draft.
Each of us are going to put together teams of five games based on our hype for them.
But before we get into that proper, I want to ask you guys, how hyped are you for this fall overall?
Oh, I feel like there's a good hand.
full of games that are my oh yeah those are undeniably tim's playing this game seeing it to the end
you know we have obviously the big the big one big one grand theft auto but also uh i just without
looking at the list of games i have it's like wolverine orbitals uh oh oh i didn't even have zelda i need
add zeldah oh shit you're right i'm adding zelda i also don't have zelda oh um yeah it's gonna be a good
year castlvania come on star wars galactic racer and do you have for the rest of this year yes but
also have to keep in mind that the autumnal equinox
yep begins September 22nd
and I don't know why Barrett laughed at me saying autumnal equinox
you don't it was a very normal thing to say yeah it's a very
what if I don't know about the equinox can you tell me about that
the autumnal equinox um is this sort of
it's that when it all begins okay it's when the fall
and autumn begins September 22nd
I don't really love, however, that the fall is considered December 1st through the 20th.
That should, December 1st or the 20th, that December's winter to me.
Get your, get your autumn and fall out of here.
December's winter.
Right.
So wait, hold on, so August can't be fall, but December can't be fall.
Like, we got to get, we got to get something out of here.
To me, August is always summer.
No, August is fall.
No, September is summer.
August is summer technically.
October is.
We go back to school in August.
We agree.
Winner is just December.
January and February.
That's pretty spring to me.
No, we're not.
We're not.
Dude,
February is a hundred percent winter if you don't live
at the Bay Area.
That is actually,
yeah, that is true.
That's what I'm saying.
I'm 100%.
Yeah.
Beginning of the year.
But when I think of February,
I think of hearts and love.
And I don't think of like the color blue and ice.
And that's because you're from California.
And I forget where you're from.
February,
spring.
It's not.
It's not.
I agree.
No, it's not insane, Michael.
I'm from Illinois.
February is for sure winter.
December, December and January, winter, February, March, that's crazy.
April.
May.
Spring doesn't technically start until end of March, man.
I'll give it a May.
Yeah, May is going to be.
March is even barely spring to me, bro.
Yeah.
And then summer is June, July, August.
I can't think of fall.
I go off the school calendar.
When do the kids go to school?
When do they leave school?
Yeah.
If their asses are in class in August, that's the fall.
See, we're having the conversation before I even met up.
Listen to nature, Mike.
Don't listen to capital and like all the schedules that they've created.
I follow capitalism.
For the sake of this show, because one of the conversations I was going to have for this draft is,
what are our parameters?
Because I have it here as August through November.
I know August technically is summer.
However, I think it's more fun conversation this year to include August.
Because if you think about it, a lot of those September games, I feel like got pushed earlier until August.
You're wanting to pull it up to.
August, I was about, my questioning was like, do we include September 1st to the 21st,
which is not a part of the octagonal equinox?
You know?
You're going to not include the first one of September.
Yeah. So like August is taking it a separate step.
I'm like, shit.
I was just trying to have phone.
We're including.
That widens our choice.
But like, if we want to be strict, we can be strict.
But I mean, the real talk, though, like, I don't think August is that exciting of a month.
Really?
For the games compared to the rest of the months.
I mean, be just the reincarnation.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
There's some stuff.
There's some stuff.
You know, ask me to name another game.
Marvel Toecon Fighting Souls.
I mean, we don't have much in December.
Big Walk.
Big Walk.
Big Walk is exciting.
I guess there's not Tim stuff.
Although Beast of Reincarnation, I still haven't listened to your games cast.
I liked a lot.
Yeah?
I liked it a lot.
A lot.
Okay.
Yeah.
Cool.
I think you should try it.
Yeah.
But what I said on the games cast is that I know me, Mike, and Andy are going to really like this game.
Okay.
This feels like a game for us.
However, I think you, I think there's a chance that you would also really enjoy it.
Excited.
Residence of Plagetail Legacy.
Oh, wow.
This is what I'll get into you.
Because let me throw out y'all the rules of this draft.
Because I'm doing things slightly less or slightly different than previous drafts that we've done.
So, of course, we're drafting games that are coming out this fall.
We're measuring by personal hype and excitement for the games.
But for fun at the end of the episode, we'll read off our list and let chat decide whose list they like the best.
We have five different categories.
We don't go in order these categories when it's your turn to draft.
You pick what category you want to draft from.
I'll re-explain that later.
But basically, you have to draft games from each of these categories.
New IP, licensed IP, sequel or new franchise entry, indie or wildcard.
There's crossover between those different things, but you have to have at least one of each.
And as you're drafting, you're calling out, oh, I'm drafting a licensed IP this turn,
or I'm going to draft my indie this turn.
Based off of that, I feel like including August makes the license thing more fun.
because there's some license games coming out in August
that I think really spice up this conversation
as far as where you go versus the other.
I'm in, dude.
I'm in.
Are we doing snake draft?
I'll roll for who goes first.
No, it goes for who goes first?
No, he just said, I'll roll.
No, yeah, we're rolling.
He has so much charisma.
He just said all roll.
It was spot in.
I'll host the show now.
So are we,
Are we pro-August?
Are we okay with August or does anybody want to fight against August?
I'm in?
I saw someone in the YouTube chat say August is the hottest month of the year in America.
It's true.
Usually is.
That's probably facts, yeah.
October and SF, I feel like it's hot.
Well, yeah, but San Francisco doesn't fall.
Yeah, I'm going to take it as soon as possible, bless.
So let's do August is right.
August.
We'll roll for who goes first.
My other big question is, should we disallow GTA or should we allow GTA?
GTA is going to swing the vote if you give it out to the public
Like they disallow it on that
We disallow
It has been disallowed
Yeah so we'll vote in yay
I'll vote yay in you
Yay
They all disavowed GTA
Yeah
Are we saying right now just for the
For the purpose of our most anticipated games
GGA 6 is the most anticipated game
Cool, we know that
We know it
Now let's get into the rest of the fall
I'm gonna roll here
My Wheel of Names
Wow
Oh perfect Barrett's already got it
Barrett, go ahead and roll who goes first.
We'll start from this person and then we'll just snake around.
People are seriously mad that we've been including August in the chat.
I mean, should we just...
That tackles me.
No, no.
No, they're stupid.
They're not.
It is summer.
All right, Andy's going to go first and then we'll go Tim, Mike, and then me and then Snake our way back.
Are we including December?
No.
The Altumnal Echoon.
I mean, we can.
I think December's the one we can all agree is winter.
100% no no I mean not what do you think it is not factually but I you're right it's not
but it is December we're like no you're right it is winter but it's not I see what you're
saying it's legally not it's legally December December's yeah but it's winter starts
December 20 something right oh wait no I'm late I'm saying the opposite sorry you're right
it is it is technically fall but it's not is what I meant to say uh yes okay I agree with that
You know what I mean?
Oh, okay.
On the calendar, it is fall factually.
But I'm like, no, it's not.
It's Christmas time.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's when I watch Vegas vacation.
Well, with the rising temperatures of the planet and the polarized caps melting,
like soon enough, we won't even have winters when you really think about it, you know?
Two seasons.
Our fall games draft, I'm going to say presented by GTA, that way if we post this, people aren't confused.
Yeah.
Presented by the game we're most high for.
Yeah.
Presented by and not sponsored by.
Andy, you're our first.
pick, what category are you going with and what is your first pick?
Fuck, this is hard, y'all.
This is tough.
Okay, category I'm going to go with.
I'm going to actually call it our fall game's draft featuring August presented by GTA6.
I love that.
I love that.
I'm going to go with Wildcard.
Okay.
Wild card.
I want to start off the rip with Wildcard.
Wild card being you can put any game in this category.
Yeah, because it kind of doesn't really fit in.
to any of these?
Oh, you fuck, fuck.
I'm gonna go with Legend of Zelda.
Oh, green of course, you remake.
I get it now, Tim.
You got it, dude.
You're about to get it again, Mike.
No, not really, but I guess it will be.
No, I just did five.
I'm gonna replayed this game.
I just played.
Yes, I have to, I have an airy of grievance with Mike yesterday.
Guy, he's so annoying.
I hear you.
I hear Tim pulling Roger into the conference room
and they're laughing and they're giggling about stuff.
I said,
doesn't it annoy you, Mike,
whenever Roger laughs without you?
And he goes,
it annoys me when you laugh when you laugh without me.
Yeah.
He goes,
all I want to do is stream friend slop games with you.
You don't ever call me.
I'm always looking at my phone,
which is like the most,
he hasn't responded to a text in over a month,
by the way, Tim.
Well,
maybe getting near two months now.
Yeah.
Never respond to anything.
And then it goes,
all I want to do is play friend slop
games with you. You never call me.
And like, you're playing Red Dead Red Dev Redemption
for the 90th time.
It's my second time playing it since 2018.
He just played his eighth Zelda game.
Everything is so, everything is just projection.
Why won't you respond to my text?
I'm in a Z-hole.
Like, it's just...
I'm so deep. I'm collecting the Triforces, Tim.
I'm trying to become the one who can have one wish.
What's my one wish?
And did play friend Slap games with me.
It's just not true.
Yesterday's game was a lot of fun, by the way.
Thank you.
You know what?
Dude.
I was on the phone.
And I was asked,
hey, how was your day?
And I was like,
you know what?
Oh, so you do answer calls.
The boys really loved the game that I chose.
And that means a lot to me
when I find a good game for them.
Because Andy and Nick both were like,
we'd play that again.
And I was like,
that's a,
I want to play it again.
That's a big win.
For anybody who doesn't know what we're talking about,
we played the mound.
Call of Cthulhu.
Call of Cthuloo.
And it's one of those that looked really pretty
on some PlayStation Showcase,
had like really good visuals.
ratings very mixed because you apparently need like a super goaded PC
but for it's a very at its core it's like kind of like that friend slop sort of thing
you go out with your friends and you bring back extraction things but it's like really really
scary and horrifying and when you know you're running around the world Tim and then suddenly
I see another dude running around with us and I think it's Mike and Mike's like that's not
me that's not me and it's just like like the forest creates clones what of the
of people that look like you.
Dude, it was fucking terrifying,
but it was a lot of fun.
Look at his face here.
Yeah, this is a little of a spider.
Bless, I want you to come play this with us on the next time we do this.
I think this would tickle your scary senses just right.
It's not overly scary,
but it would be like you would have the freak out moments with us
that you would really enjoy.
This is fun.
This was it.
This is where I was like,
what are these isn't Nick?
One of these isn't Nick.
One of these is a fucking terrified.
It was a lot of fun, man.
It's not called the Mountain Call of the Cuthulub.
It's called Omen of Cuthus.
Ah, okay.
You know, you got the genius.
Yeah.
Is the legend of Zelda Akron at a time when we're saying, okay, GTA 6 is of course
the number one?
Is Zelda the easy?
Of course is this number two.
Yeah, it is.
And it being a remake, I think, also lessens the fun for this conversation.
But I'll fucking give it to Andy.
He deserves it.
Yeah.
You rolled for it.
Hey, yeah, you got number one.
Good.
I feel like it's just a fan favorite.
Because I think Tim Menton.
or somebody I forgot that this was an option
like I put together a short list of things that I wanted
to draft totally even forgot
yeah because it doesn't have a date
I think that's wise like we're looking at release calendars with dates
and like this one's just kind of in that weird
TBA section with a million games
What if it comes out in December? Does Andy's
team become null and void
the outside of the Econnox? Well I mean
the last thing does it come out there's no way
it's coming out like on Christmas you know what you mean
like it was like December 1st or whatever parents
lead to y'all motherfuckers that's all
it is yeah great first pick
though. Yeah. Thank you.
That is a weird technicality of not having a release day,
but I don't care that much. When do we see this game?
When do we see it again? Like, you know,
Greg had the whole rant about like,
just show us the game. We know what's going on
here. Like, let me, it's got to be. Do we see
this anytime soon? August.
Rumors were August 4th is the pre-order date.
So, wow. I imagine
in the next two. Oh, we're right around the corner then. Yeah. That's exciting.
Yeah. I don't think it's going to be any, I think it's just going to be
a either, hey, we're doing a Nintendo
direct and it's here or it's just a trailer
drops and it has
the pre-order info and that's it. And I'm going to say
first week
of November. Nice.
Yes, right before GTA. Before, like,
yeah, early enough before GTA where it's like we can
get away with this. The other option is that we're
probably going to get a direct in September because that
tends to be their
cadence and it could be there. But I, for some
reason my gut says that's not what it's going to be.
Okay. All right, Tim,
you're up next. What's your category and what game
are you picking here? Remember, the
categories for those listening and watching are new IP,
licensed IP, sequel,
indie, or wild card.
I mean, I guess I...
Sequel also includes new franchise entry for the...
I'm gonna go Marvel's Wolverine.
Oh, that's good.
I don't know what category I'd put that in.
I guess new IP?
Yeah, new IP.
Licensed IP.
Oh, shit, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll use up my license there.
I like that. I like that.
Yeah, Marvel's Wolverine.
It's funny.
I don't...
I missed the conversation that was had on Games Daily
that Roger was talking about his thoughts on a Wolverine.
I saw the chat kind of talking about it.
He said it's going to be trash.
He said it was going to be terrible.
He said it's going to be a really bad game.
I don't know exactly what he said, but
jokes aside, the vibe
seemed to be more just like it's about hype
more than about quality of the game.
I'm saying he's going to be trash, right?
Yeah.
He's just bored of Wolverine always being
the guy. He's seen enough
Wolverine. He's ready for a different character,
but like that's why he's not overly hype
for this. And you all watch the next one 97?
You see the latest episode?
Of course I did.
Andy, you're gonna fucking love this.
I gotta watch it.
God damn.
I gotta just watch stuff.
Stop playing Slate the Spire 2.
Yeah, dude, real talk.
Just for a couple nights.
I try to watch things while playing Slate the Spire 2,
and it's so difficult because I'm so locked into the cards.
I'm trying to read the cards.
I'm trying to figure it out.
Just doing double damage,
but then it's going to negate that status.
We should play co-op one day together.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
So, again, I don't know what Roger said,
but I do know how I feel about this game.
I could not be more hyped.
It's a Wolverine game being made by Insomniac.
I love the Spider-Man game so deeply.
Jake Baldino's here.
Wait, wait, rewind.
Weird.
Looks just like Jake Baldino.
I don't see it, actually.
I fucking see it.
It's right there.
It's the eyebrows.
It's the eyebrows, yeah.
But anyways, all that being said, I haven't even watched this trailer yet.
This trailer dropped yesterday, and I was like,
I don't need to watch it.
And I don't know what that says.
That's not a knocker.
on the game, but I guess I, without knowing
what he said, I'm kind of with Roger.
Like, yes, I am more hyped
for this than any of these other games.
Having said that, I'm not as hyped
as I could be
for a Wolverine game by
Insomniac, but I don't know
what that says. It doesn't really say anything.
I did listen
to what Roger had to say, and I think maybe it's
is there a cap of
how hyped you could get for a Wolverine?
I feel like what a Wolverine game is
is so straightforward.
Versus like Spider-Man, even though we've gotten a million Spider-Man games now,
there is something that is inherently just exciting when you think about the gameplay potential of
swinging around an open world city, doing quests and doing all the missions, whatever you want to call them, right,
and doing all these things and just hanging out in a, I'll say, not procedural, but you get what I mean,
like a world that kind of reacts a little bit.
Wolverine, you're gonna go from scene to scene tapping, tapping square.
But I love that.
Perrying a little bit.
I like linear games.
I like stories.
I like set pieces,
uncharted, right?
Like, I think that the lot of what this is going to do
is like right up my alley.
But to your points,
I do think that comparing it to Spider-Man,
Spider-Man, all these things,
Spider-Man is one of my favorite characters, period.
Wolverine, a little less so.
So it's like, I love him,
but like, it's definitely not the level of Spider-Bank.
How much of it has to do
with just the overall excitement for the MCU as a whole?
Like...
Zero, because I'm still there.
No, I mean with like, when we think about,
How excited we were for Spider-Man.
I think Spider-Man is just cooler,
and I enjoy Spider-Man more as a character.
But I feel like we were also much closer
to these amazing movies that were just coming out.
It was all, everything was like just operating a fever pitch.
I think if it was Spider-Man 3 coming out next month,
no, in September, I think there will be more hype for it.
But I also think to my gameplay thing,
on the story side as well,
I think the source material for Spider-Man,
it is vastly more interesting and more exciting
than the source material for Wolverine specifically.
And I agree with you personally.
I know there's people that disagree with that and that's fine.
And I totally agree with you.
I'm just saying Wolverine specifically.
But to that point, it's like Spider-Man,
it's like when we saw all those trailers going into it
and like we knew what that game could be and ended up being,
but then also even the story beats that they were presenting
were interesting and the villains that they were adding,
like the focus on Mr. Negative,
which was very fresh at the time with the comics
that were going on at that time.
That was so cool to see.
But then we got that trailer.
of the Sinister 6,
and I see all their designs,
and I remember being like,
oh, man,
I don't really like the look
of this world's, like,
uh,
outfits and costumes.
I love,
I love InsomniaX Spider-Man.
Art direction has always kind of like been ify for me.
Yeah.
It's like, I don't,
I just,
I've never been a fan of just like,
here's the outfit and they have like weird glowy spots of,
of tech.
Like,
there's just something about that aesthetic
that doesn't work for me.
And that's all over this Wolverine game.
And when we saw Gene Gray,
I was like,
I don't like that she looks like that.
And I can't get over it.
Like,
it's just like,
something about the art design of the supporting characters that we're seeing that doesn't fill
me with glee the way that X-Men 97 is.
And we're already taking the steps away from something like Spider-Man.
So I think that's all that it is for me.
I think I'm going to absolutely love this game.
But I don't think that my criticisms that I have now are going to be solved.
You don't like this design for Eugene Gray?
I mean, honestly, I'm actually okay with this more than I have with what's in the game.
One of the things I'll mention, too, is that, like, when I think of Wolverine,
story potential, I would almost be more excited if this was an X-Men game.
Because X-Men expands what this can be in a way where I'm like, I love a lot of those
X-Men stories.
I love a lot of the Spider-Man stories.
When I think of Wolverine, there are obviously Wolverine stories I love.
Logan movie is one of the best superhero movies ever.
But like, I don't know.
For me, I'm like, okay, yeah, I'll play as Wolverine.
I'll cut up shit and I'll have fun.
And I'm excited for, I'm excited for the fun of it.
but I think when a Spider-Man game comes
comes around I'm like oh but
who are they going to introduce
what are they going to do with venom
who's going to become venom like there are so many more
questions and so many more theory craft
so much more theory crafting that happens
I'm still there though
because I think we're going to get some of that shape
I want to I would kill for a professor X
mansion to be
like the hub world
where all of the mutants are just hanging
out and you're taught and they have a little
side quest Mike and somebody mentioned something
you're like well I was going to do that side quest
but now maybe I could
you know, raise my friendship bond with that one, you know,
mutant or whatever, that would be super.
Play one-on-one basketball against Beast.
Basketball ball.
Yeah.
Mike, what's your first category and pick here?
Yeah, blessing.
I am stacked up from licensed IP, sequels,
indies, and my wild card,
but I'm a little light on my new IP.
I'm a little panicked on that one.
So I'm just going to get that out the way.
Might not be the biggest hit of them all.
I think you guys will be able to draft maybe some larger titles that will sway.
people on the vote, but
I just got to get it out the way. So I'm going to go to new
IP. I'm going to go with
orbitals. Yeah. Oh.
I think it is a very exciting time, right?
It's something we talk about all the time. The
co-op haze-like situation
of these games are really, really great, right?
Being able to share an awesome, fun story
and fun, awesome gameplay moments,
puzzle solving with your friend
and like this really cool experience of
split screen, no matter if you're
across the country with one another.
I think Hayslight really created an awesome genre that we now love.
And to see a new team come out and explore this
in such an incredible art style with this anime,
sci-fi aesthetic, I love it.
I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
I, of course, am excited and a little apprehensive,
a little worried that maybe we've done these puzzles before
and they won't find their own way of doing some fun co-op puzzles.
But you know what?
Anytime I get to share it with a friend, I think he's going to be cool.
You know what? Having played the preview, I don't have that fear.
Like already early on in this game, I think there's enough fresh things they're doing.
And, you know, abilities they introduce early on where I'm like, oh, I don't think I've seen this yet in a Hayslike game.
Okay. Nice. Bless. Yeah. That's what I'm worried about is we'll just compare it to all of Joseph Farris and his name's work over at Haysline and be like, we've already kind of done these puzzles.
Like, it's not as good. So I'm looking for new and fresh takes on what you can do with a co-op experience.
This is incredibly high on my list.
Like top three, easy.
Same.
All right.
I am the last one in order,
which means I have two picks back to back.
I'm going to start with sequel.
Control Resonant.
Damn.
Yeah.
Damn.
Honestly, I think when you're going by our picks so far,
when we're talking about GTA6, of course,
but then Zelda Ocarina,
Wolverine, Orbitals, and Control,
resident. I feel like that's like the
not, I'm not going to say objective, but that's the
consensus between us top five
most anticipated games, right? I think
there's a, there might be one
that slides in there that's not, you know?
I'm curious on my hand early. I'm curious on what
that is for you. I do think, I think, Orbitol
is out of the way. You have now selected
the top three besides GTA
most anticipated games
to the general audience out there. I don't know
about control being, having all that.
Really? Really? Again, I
keep saying this, but it's just like, I, when
you say to the general audience? Like, no, I don't think that's true. I think that it's very high
in this sphere and all of that. And I also think it looks great. So it's like I'm not at all talking
shit about it. But I just, I don't think that it's on the same level as a Wolverine and a Zelda.
Okay. I think that there is a step down, uh, not that far, but like, it's for the sickos in the
no. Yeah, which is great. And like, I think that it's going to deliver for them. And I also do think
it has the potential to continue to make these remedy games a bit more mainstream. But I don't
think we're there yet. I think maybe on the popularity side or like the sales potential side,
sure. I think on the critical side, this is one that I have expectations to see this at the
game award. Me too. I have expectations to see this nominated. Like I think this has potential to
be in that game of the year nominee conversation. If it hits in the way that I would want it to hit.
Art direction, this versus Soros is going to be such a battle. Oh yeah. Do not forget about Saros.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah. You and bless you have to send out that art direction reminder. Yep. You know,
December. Don't forget about December.
Don't forget about these games.
Yeah. It's sad that you can't do that with Destiny anymore, Andy.
I know.
Man.
But yeah, I have so many questions, but also just excitement, right?
This one, I love to control one, but then also it, having more of a melee combat style,
it looking almost more like a prototype game, that does a lot for me.
I'm hoping that we have that same level of weirdness that control one had,
because when we're exploring the Federal Bureau of Control and like getting, picking up those
notes, those redacted things and them telling you these weird rules that they have within that
and learning about objects of power and all this shit, there is such a weirdness element that worked
so well for me in Control 1 that I'm really hoping to see more of. It doesn't have to be exactly
the same because obviously the setting is different, but I want to see them play around with like
that remedy versus style of, hey, this is weird, but it's also really cool. So it's time for my
second pick.
And that second pick.
Man, I didn't prepare as much because you guys picked
what I was thinking of. Oh, I could go licensed.
I'm between licensed and new
IP right now. Okay. But I feel
like I got to go licensed.
I'm going to go Star Wars Galactic Racer.
Nice.
After I played that preview at Summer Game Fest,
that one shot up my most
anticipated games list. It
is combining a lot of what I love
about games, racing games that I already
that I already love. So Star Wars
racer, of course, you're getting back into that world. It has that same gameplay feel. When I played
the race that was pod racing, I was blown away by how much it felt almost one for one, like the
N64 game. But then, yeah, people that are formerly worked on burnout that are working on this,
and that burnout feel is present here too. When you're talking about the speed, when you're talking
about the destruction, when you're talking about the camera cutaways to crashes of the opponents,
all that stuff feels perfect for my taste and sensibilities and what I want out of a racing game. And
I like a lot of what they're doing.
I like the visuals. I like the cinematics.
I like that there's a campaign here.
I even like that the single player thing seems like it's more of a rogulight.
I think it's an interesting take on it.
So this is high up there for me.
Dude, hell yeah.
Give me stakes.
Give me a character to really, really hate.
Give me an NPC that talks so much shit.
And then I finally race and I beat their ass.
Give me shit to care about like that.
And so far, everything cutscene-wise is looking like it's going to deliver that.
Yeah.
Very high, My list as well.
Can't wait for this.
The campaign mode is incredibly high on my hype list of things to do this year.
And the preview I did with you and Cardi, I was so jealous that I didn't get to play it.
Y'all did.
And after that, I went home that day and I played.
I bought and downloaded the PS4 version of Star Wars Racing.
I just played for like an hour or two.
And I'm just like, damn, man.
I am so ready for this.
I got super hooked in that version.
Mike, what's your second pick?
Hey, bless.
Man, I got some great indie titles.
and there's one in particular I kind of want to snatch up and hold on to
because it is so special,
but I probably should go with the big dog in the room.
And I don't know where this.
I guess can I call it a sequel?
We'll find out.
You can tell me if not I'll take it as my wild card.
I will.
But I'm going to go with Fire Emblem Fortune's Week.
Nice.
I think that fits a sequel.
We're going to fit that to the sequel?
Okay, okay.
I like that.
Yeah, I mean, I'm really, really excited for Fire Emblem, Fortunes Weave.
I've been thinking about Fire Emblem since I played
Fire Emblem 3 Houses at the start of this year.
It is an exciting idea that we've talked about to death here on the podcast, but for all of you out there,
it is Fire Emblems Three Houses, but this time we're in a gladiator arena.
We're in a brand new city.
We're going to be recruiting new members into our gladiator team.
Fighting in the arena is going to be really, really excited.
There's stupid, sexy gibronies all over the place that we're going to either fight for or betray.
There's going to be twist.
There's going to be turns.
I'm just so excited for the story after what.
what three houses was.
I'm excited to pick one of the main four characters and go,
yeah, this is my person I ride with.
Oh, what's their story?
Man, what if I chose the other person and did their story?
What are the new classes that they add?
How do those affect the battlefield?
Also, what is the battlefield, right?
Are we going to see this Roman Coliseum all the time?
How do you change that up with different obstacles in the way?
Where else do we go?
And then outside of all the battle,
we know that there is some kind of like,
how do I describe it, almost life sail?
friendship bond moment where
when you go out, you're going to go build
on these bonds. You're going to go recruit
new people onto your team and you're
going to fall in love with certain characters and their
abilities. And you're going to say, yeah, I ride or die
for these ones. Like Hilda,
for me back in Fire Emblem, three houses, right?
I'll do anything for Hilda. And so
I cannot wait for
fortunes weaving. You know, I'll tell you,
I'll get ahead of it, though, for license IP.
Star Wars Zero Company. A lot of
cool tactical games coming out this year
that I'm excited to play. That was one.
was thinking about. Like if Star Wars Galactic was taken and Marvel Tocon was both
were taken, I would have immediately jumped to Star Wars Role Company because that looks.
So put me down for that one as my sequel, Fire Emblems, Fortunes weave.

Timothy? Yes. What's your second pick?
That's tough.
because there's a game that I am more confident in being good
but I think I got to go with the one that
it's me so I have to
only Musha way of the sword nice sequel sequel
yeah or follow-up it's technically not a
oh it all out and maybe it's in the franchise I have franchise entry in
yeah that's fine but yeah so stoked for this I have more questions
than answers so far personally but I think at the very least
is going to be good I'm just
I'm hoping it gets to that amazing.
And I think that it could.
The demo is a lot of fun.
I'm liking the characterization of our hero here.
And I just hope that the weapons and abilities live up to my expectations from the previous
games.
And I just want more silly-ass bad guys.
And so far, we got some silly bad guys.
At first dude's really cool.
He's real cool.
A lot of personality.
I like him.
Seems like he's going to be kind of your rival throughout the game.
And I like that quite a bit.
What are the streets saying about this?
The demo is out some people have gotten to play it.
Are people very high on it?
Do we know?
Has anybody checked the pulse?
The vibe seemed to be that people really like the boss fight,
but that the lead-up to the boss fight,
everyone's like,
yo, it's a little too easy.
Like, this, we need,
we're not being pushed to actually use any of these cool-ass parries
and abilities in the lead-up to the boss that then demands a lot.
Yeah.
So,
it almost feels like two different games.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So we'll see.
Andy,
what's your second pick?
Hmm.
Of course, he used your wild card early on Zelda Ocarino.
Yeah, sure did.
Smart move.
Sure did.
I'm going to go with
Here's where we fall into the weird new IP indie thing
I mean if it's both you can use it for either
There's just
Technically an independent studio but you know
No it doesn't know what are we do no
No say the name
You already fucking know it's not what's the game
Just don't do it wait you don't know what I'm saying
I do what do you think what do it's the one I was debating between
I'm not going to say anything you want to thank you my
Anything you want I support you with
God, it's my best friend right there, dude.
Say it.
Phantom Blade Zero.
Didn't expect him to say that.
Okay, see, you got to be.
That's not an indie game.
Is it an idea?
I mean, they have a lot of funding.
So maybe I put that under new IP.
I'm of the mind that I put,
I'm,
I separate indie from independent.
Or like you'd be an independently owned studio.
But like indie, we know what an indie is, though.
It's got to be 2D.
No.
I love you, Blas.
You're the best.
It's got to be pixel.
The screenbound count?
It's got to be pixel art.
It's got to be pixel art.
It's so funny because Blastardt saves us,
I know we all know.
And then keeps talking of like,
wait,
wait,
way,
way,
way,
way, way,
it's got to be made by two white men in Portland.
Yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
I love this.
They put it together in their budget.
Yeah.
So new IP then?
I just put that on new IP,
yeah.
Okay,
Phantom Blade Zero.
Damn.
New IP.
That wasn't even my new IP.
It's great.
It's a great call.
Very exciting.
It's one thing I'm still like,
is it,
you know,
Is it really?
Is it real?
How's it of a date?
Yeah,
it's kind of...
You've played it twice, though, right?
Once?
Twice.
Twice?
I don't remember.
Twice.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
It's real.
It's gonna be a good one.
It's gonna be real good one.
I think they're doing one of them,
like demo tests.
Or maybe I wish that into existence.
Maybe that was one of my summer game fest predictions.
This is the crazy one with the story, right?
Andy,
where he's got 90 days to resurrect himself or he's going to die or something like that.
Some timeline stuff.
Really, really cool shit.
Yeah, this one, for me,
as we talked about with beasts of reincarnation, right?
Like, I blink and I forget what this is, right?
It's like it blends into all these that we've seen the action,
action adventure genre.
And it's like, I'm excited for this.
Have I completely forgotten about this one?
Yeah, because I haven't, like Andy,
got to preview it at all.
And we've seen a thousand games that looks like this.
But this one is high on my list of like,
I believe in this one the most out of a lot of the other ones we've seen.
And that's where I stand as well,
where, yeah, like you mentioned,
we get a million of these games.
But I think this one stands out more than most.
You know, when I think of the ones right now where I'm like,
oh shit, this thing, this seems like a has sauce, is this in Tides of Annihilation.
I think these two games seem to be doing or seem to be doing enough to stand out.
And Fainable Blade Zero specifically.
I also got to play the demo like two summer game festival, maybe three.
And that game had something in terms of just the speed of the action.
It feels so, it makes you feel so locked in.
You know what I mean?
Like I am fucking pairing.
When I'm tapping, I love a tap square, tap R1 game.
You know what I mean?
And when I'm tapping that button in this game,
there's something real satisfying going on.
Oh yeah.
Just the animations is how fucking crazy they look.
It's got the most fluid animations I've ever experienced.
Animations are crazy.
You cannot, the first time we saw it,
and all of our thoughts were this looks like pre-canned,
pre-rendered animation stuff in engine,
because everything looks,
it's hard to discern when one move ends,
and the next one begins,
and dude,
it is really wild
to experience it
and, like,
feel it.
Yeah.
It's awesome.
Tides of Annihilation
is,
like,
more than any of these games,
the ones that I have my eye on.
And I,
it's not on the list
because I,
at this point out on Fates this year.
I'm still kind of holding out hope,
though.
It's all my fantasy.
It's going to be playable at,
it's going to be playable at gamescom.
They didn't see this year for Tides,
right?
No.
No.
I'm going to say,
I might have said 2027.
No, no, no,
no.
I don't know if they've ever
really put out of data or anything.
But I just kind of felt, I felt it.
And I just, again, love what I'm seeing of the game so much.
But I expect we'll see some, like get some level of confirmation.
Confirmation of timeline during gamescom.
But yeah, it's not feeling it's this year, which I'd be fine.
But if they were just like, yo, it's first half of 2027, I'd be like, that's great.
Don't drown in the fall that we have.
And then also I get a free drop on my fantasy critic.
I'm happy with that.
That's true.
Andy, what's your third pick?
I'm going to go for sequel.
And it is Gears of War E-Day.
Nice.
Dude, I have found so much joy playing Gears of War over the last couple of years going through all of them.
It's just such a fun freaking video game.
And this one just looks unbelievable.
This one's got one of them new pieces of tech that they're using with Unreal Engine 5 where it's,
remember that one sequence where you're walking through that little video story?
and all the TVs are on
and it's like,
it looks lit in a way
you've never really seen a game
be lit before.
And it's because it's this new
kind of tech that they've been testing out early
that's like kind of ready for devs to use
where like you could just have unlimited amount of light sources
and it not like be super costly.
And that's why that sequence looks so amazing.
So apart for the visuals though,
the gameplay is just so damn fun.
And it's always going to be a solid
eight to 10 hour campaign experience.
And yeah,
I'm way more pumped for this
than I would have had I not played
any of the other Gears games.
Nice.
Some of the people in chat were also calling out
apparently Fanam Blade Zero is an existing IP.
Not a new IP.
I can't find anywhere.
Is it?
We're looking at Phantom Blade.
I think there was like an old mobile game or something
that is based off of.
Oh.
There's always a mobile game.
There's always a mobile game.
But I'm a lettuce light.
Tim, what is your third pick
in our fall game's draft
featuring August presented by GTA6?
What I thought?
thought Andy was going to say.
Castlevania, Belmont,
Dang it.
I have a very high hopes for this one.
I think it's going to review incredibly well.
Yeah,
it's the first new 2D Castlevania in a very,
very long time.
And it is from a team that we know is going to kill it.
That goes in the indie.
No, it doesn't.
It doesn't.
Oh, you're not doing indie?
That's not Indy.
It's Konami.
Yeah, but it's being made by an indie team.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's being given funds by Konami, though.
Yeah, I was gonna give it to-
Sorry, it's my wild card.
That's my wild card.
I just assumed you're putting it.
I would have let it slide for indie, but
No, no, no, no.
It's just because it looks like this, like, no, not, not.
It's 2D and like, made by two white men in Portland.
Yeah, dude, this looks fucking amazing, man.
Is this all that there are previews today?
No.
Yeah.
People are writing articles about this guy.
I bet you Tim got, or I bet you Greg got emails and he was like, we don't want it.
We don't want it.
We don't want it.
We're too busy.
Quality.
Yeah.
Where's my starfield?
Dude, this looks so fucking crazy.
The art style is just unbelievable with this game.
I can't wait.
Can't wait.
Mike.
I'm going to go indie and I'm going to take screenbound on in the news.
Man, this is one that I played during Steam Next Fest.
I really, really enjoyed this.
This is the Game Boy one very much like viewfinder, right?
But kind of a faster-paced viewfinder.
A viewfinder was very much like slow down, take a photo, organize a photo, then walk
through it. This is very much like, look at your
Game Boy, plot it out and keep
running at the same time. But there's a whimsy.
There's a charm to the story
at the same time, right? I think
the mother got trapped inside
of a game that they were creating and now
it's your goal to go find her inside
of the games that you have and you'll
put in new cartridges to unlock new levels.
And the blend of the 3D
meets the weird, whimsical
Game Boy 2D game is like really,
really fun to see the obstacles and
kind of try to chart out, of course,
while looking at two screens at once, essentially,
it's really, really dope.
I like this game a lot.
Andy, you weren't on the episode of Gamescast that Greg showed us
like a bunch of cool indie games from one of the showcases.
I forgot what it was.
Yeah, I was out of town for that.
So I don't know if you saw the latest trailer for a screenbound,
but you've seen this.
You know what this game is, right?
Yeah.
Did you know that there are other cartridges that turn it into like a top-down Zelda?
Oh, no, I didn't know that.
They tease that it's not just plus 2D-3-D platform
it's also like straight up a Zelda type game which is very very cool my my biggest problem with this
anytime I see it it gives me motion sickness yeah for the same reason for the same reason that playing
a game or game in my car like you know back in my when my parents would take me somewhere I'd be in
the backseat playing a game war game I'd get motion sick it it fucks with me in that way and I
maybe I'll just I do have a lot of those canisters left of a jama mean left in my backpack drop it up
yeah all right it's my turn and
I'm going to go with new IP.
And this is me kind of stealing from Andy and Greg.
And I'll not say stealing.
I'll say being inspired and influenced by Andy and Greg.
Because y'all been talking about Blood of Dawn Walker.
Dude, yeah.
And I watched like a year ago or so.
I watched like a 20 minute gameplay breakdown.
And I was like, all right, this seems cool, but I don't know if this is going to have the sauce.
And the more y'all keep bringing it up.
And Andy, you went, did you go to a preview?
Yeah.
Okay.
I didn't know if I could say it this time.
You went to a preview.
Yeah.
Nice catch this.
not going to get me twice
you went here a preview of Blood of the Dawn Walker
and you're like, yo, this shit has the sauce.
Dude, yeah, man.
The story and the narrative and decision making
and everything in this game is,
it's up there for, like,
the way that I felt while playing the Witcher,
the amount of times that I had in that short prologue,
which then after the prologue,
we got to play additional, you know, a couple hours or whatever.
But in that prolog,
log. Like, I wish I was recording myself during moments of me going like, whoa, holy fuck,
they're doing that. Like, really cool story beats that are happening in this game. And again,
by a lot of people that worked on the multiple Witcher games and cyberpunk, um, with really
cool characters and world building and this sort of timed experience where each daytime
cycle is eight slots of time and each nighttime cycle is eight slots of time. And,
You get to choose how you want to spend that time.
And certain more important missions might be four slots.
So there goes half of your daytime or whatever.
But maybe you're really vibing with that one NPC
who you've kind of grown a bond with and you want to help them out.
But that might mean that you can't do other missions.
And it's all just really, really cool in terms of the level of player agency you have during the adventure.
But it's really, really badass so far.
I can't wait to try it out.
then for my fourth pick
of course that was my new IP
I'm gonna go with Wild Card
and I'm gonna strategically box you all out
and go with Marvel Tocon Fighting Souls
Okay okay
Because I see some of y'all still have licensed IPs left
And also if I'm being real about my most anticipated games
This is high up there
Marvel Tocon looks really good
Of course, our system works there
I'm probably one of my favorite developers
If I really think about it
With how much I love Guilty Gear and strive
And how much I love Dragon Ball fighters
And how much now I'm like
If y'all put out anything
I'm going to play it.
And they're putting out this.
And they're putting out this.
Of course, Marvel games have such a storied history
when it comes to fighting games.
And so when you take one of the top fighting game developers
and you pair it with one of the top fighting game franchises in a way,
and you make it look like this, I cannot wait.
I still think the 4V4 one health bar format is weird as hell,
but I'm not writing it off.
I want to give them the space to sell me on the vision.
Of course, I've played betas before,
and I think the game is fun from the betas.
But that's the one thing where I'm like,
it's a weird style of what they're trying to do here.
But, hey, like, they've not,
they've not steered me wrong yet with any of their main outings here
since I've gotten into playing their fighting games.
So, really excited to check this one out.
Do we expect this to have, like, a cool campaign story blitz?
I forget.
I will enjoy to, like, play through.
You're going to have something.
Okay.
But, chat, remind me of what they've talked about.
Because I, they usually have, like, some sort of, like, campaign thing
in their last couple of games they have.
I wonder if it's going to be just like comic book
justice level
No no no no
You might get like comic book book art
With vice in between
Like it may be cool animated shit
But I don't expect anything that's going to be like injustice
I think it'll be in between
I think it'll be like more than just the comic book art stuff
But I don't think it'll be anywhere near as in depth
There's the nether realm story mode shit
Because I'm so high on that virtual fighter one right
That has a really cool story
Yeah I can't wait for that blast oh my God
Yeah.
Mike, what is your fourth pick?
Yeah, Bless, what a fun one here.
I have licensed IP and a wild card left here.
And I'm kind of with my last pick screenbound, as you guys see,
I'm playing the game here to win the vote, right?
And so it's interesting where I want to go.
I think I'm pretty solid on license IP.
I don't think you'll go that way.
So I'll go with my wild card, and I'll go with Ace Combat 8.
Nice.
I'm thinking about that.
I don't think we're.
major fighting pilot fans here at the desk.
But, like, we all have a little touchstone to certain flying jet fighting games that we enjoy, right?
And I think...
And we got that top...
Top Gun Maverick.
Yes, of course.
And we got that top of the...
Coming to battlefield.
Do you see that?
Yeah, I saw that.
I saw that.
So I think there's some excitement to it, right?
How much we all play?
We'll find out when it comes out.
But I think there is an excitement when you see the trailers, the idea of, like, this really
cool-looking story.
that almost feels like
Kajima-esque slash from software
with what they've told with Ace
Armored Corps.
And it's like, oh, I'm so hyped up on this story
and the idea of flying this jet plane
and having some fun in Ace Combat.
Right?
I tried Ace Combat 7.
I enjoyed it.
I didn't love it.
And so I think this might be the one to really get me.
I'm really excited about this.
I got to go to a preview a couple months ago,
and I played it somewhere between like five to six hours
of this game.
and I was so locked in.
Like there's something that is,
there's something that's almost relaxing
about playing in Ace Combat,
you know,
like it does have those armored core things
of before you go out on an outing,
figure out your best load out,
you know what I mean?
Like, what are the pieces of tech
you want to put in your machine
to go out there and take out
whatever enemy forces?
But when you're in the air
and you're flying
and like you have the dialogue
between the characters,
but it's just really just you
and the open sky
and like the enemies
that you're slowly trying to take out
or the objectives on the ground
that you're trying to explode or whatever,
there's something that's just nice
and easy about it.
And so, yeah, I'm looking forward to this.
It also just looks graphically insane as well.
The trees, when you're looking down at them, looks so, so good.
This game has the best looking clouds I've ever seen in a video game.
And somebody asked about it in, like, a group interview afterwards.
And we're really happy that people notice the cloud tech going on.
Yeah.
I think this will be really good.
Tim.
Fourth game.
I'm in a bad spot, boys.
Played this draft really wrong in terms of categories and games I have on my list.
I have indie and new IP left
There's no wrong way to play too
Well there is a wrong way because I'm looking and I'm like man
I don't really have any
Any new IPs left
So I'm gonna I'm gonna pull some bullshit and hope that nobody notices and calls me out on this
I'm gonna go with the new IP
This tactics game called Zero Company
No
It's brand new IP
Brand new type of game
You know what I mean? They've never done that type of game before
You know it's coded into Star Wars thing
But you know
Like we haven't seen the Star Wars like this before.
Listen, how are you all feeling?
I could be down to let it slide unless somebody else is going to pick it.
We made rules for a reason.
All right, then fine, you know, then I'm fucked.
I was going to be nice to you.
I mean, what about Beast of Reincarnation?
You don't want to do that one?
Oh, I guess that is a okay call.
I'm not, though.
No, I'm not.
You should do Beasts of Reincarnation?
Yeah.
What are you doing?
I have the right move.
Fine, fuck it.
Beasts a reclamation.
Wait, well, we're slightly.
What else were you thinking about?
I was going to go with for, well, I have a call for Indy that I want to save.
But if I were to go with New IP, Pro Jank footy.
Oh.
I mean, that's all that yesterday.
That does count.
You see that shit?
Is that?
That's like the, the.
I'm going pro Jank footy, baby.
Hell yeah.
That's going to go.
Pro Jank, footy.
All right.
Barry, you got to show the people pro jank footy.
Bear, can you please bring up the trailer?
Is this a boozeball thing?
No.
I think Mike needs to watch this trailer.
Because, yeah, Les and I watched this yesterday,
it's like, wait a minute.
This game looks freaking awesome.
I love that.
I want that shit about Beast, by the way.
Like, it's just, what do we say, Barry?
Do we want audio for this?
Yeah, let's just watch the trailer.
Let's just do it.
Peggy 18.
40, 40, 40, 42.
Every time I watch this trailer, it's funny.
Welcome to Projank footy.
You have fun.
It's rogue life.
Lots of stuff happens.
This looks really fun.
This looks really fun.
They want to fit bare the game footage goes.
Yeah, blah, blah.
You're going to love it
To pick up a ball
And kick into Pro Game Footy
Oh, this game's pretty weird
Hey
I don't know they called
Is that Rugby?
It's Australian football
Oh
I don't know
A lot of the other things
Not necessarily my jam
But like that game
I'm like this looks fucking awesome
Hell yeah
So yeah
Projang footy is my new IP
I love that for me
Nice
I love that you're like
Putting that on my radar
I actually really am excited for that now.
That's cool.
People are saying, okay,
Australian rules football,
also known as Aussie rules.
Is there any,
does it have to do with rugby at all?
Because somebody says it's rugby in chat.
It's rugby,
but you also kick.
I should have,
I should have researched this
after the show yesterday
because I had the same questions.
Andy,
what is your fourth pick?
And then what is your fifth pick?
Wait,
everybody's teams are done?
No, you're at the end of the snake.
You're going to go for your fourth pit,
then you're five pick.
And then we all need five.
Oh, shoot.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
I'm going to go for license IP then and go with Star Wars Zero company.
Nice.
Smart call.
You know, if I wanted to be silly, I would have gone with Hello Kitty or The Grinch.
But I'll decide not to do with that.
There's one good license one that I just want to throw out there.
What is it?
Because, well, does Sony most have licensed?
It's kind of a weird thing because these are remakes or remasters even.
but like Toy Story Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition.
Mike hasn't picked his license.
Yeah, but that's how I mean to tell.
Do not sleep on these.
I'll stick with this.
Because the Toy Story Retro Roundup, I'm just letting people know.
Some of those old games that they range in quality or whatever, like the old Super Nintendo Genesis PS1 stuff.
Toy Story 3 on PS3 is one of those like, oh no, legit.
It's like SpongeBob Battle for Biggini bottom type stuff where it's like, no, no, no, it's above the rest.
Like this one's really, really good.
So the fact that they're like going in and making it look awesome.
You just get to play through the story.
of Toy Story 3, and there's a toy box mode.
We just play with the toys.
legit, check it out, everyone.
But Andy, tell me more about Star Wars.
No, I'll just pick it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andy, I'm pumped up for this game.
Yeah, as an ex-com fan, I cannot wait for the idea of a tactic Star Wars game, right?
I think it's just fun when we talk about having people play in the sandbox and create new and unique ideas, right?
I still think about gears tactics and how much I enjoyed that game in a universe that I love with a different spin on the game.
That's multiplayer?
Star Wars, I'm excited for
this tactical game. I got a good feeling about
Does it have multi-player? I don't know.
No, I don't know about my multiplayer. I got a feeling this is going to
be bigger than we think.
It looks really high quality. I think people are going to
really fuck. Who has this on fantasy?
It's a good question. I don't think anybody
does. No, someone does.
I thought Bless had it.
No. I don't think so.
Unless I blacked out. It happens sometimes.
You were blacked out.
I don't want to just control left that.
You don't want to just control F that, Tim?
Command F then.
Yeah, just control it.
You know,
don't have it.
I don't think anybody has it, dude.
No,
nobody has it.
Well, I should have selected that.
Instead, you got an incident in Galley House.
I saw that.
Yeah, Bear put me onto that one.
It has four reviews.
Did I not put you onto that one?
I've never talked about whatever the fuck you guys just mentioned.
I put you on to it.
Blessing put me on to that one.
And so I drafted it that weekend.
And it currently has four reviews.
I need a fifth to solidify the number,
but it's currently sitting at 82 on Metacritic.
If I can get one more positive review,
I bet you that thing can go up to an 84, maybe even higher.
There's another trade.
You were mad that...
Oh, interesting.
Oh, so, wow.
I want to receive Fire Emblem for Wolverine.
Oh, Andy.
For real, though. Think about it.
Kind of funniest game of the year.
Wolverine?
Honestly, probably.
This was one that I meant to reject
on stream last time
on a games cast last time
but the timer had run out
apparently you have a week to accept a rejected trade
yeah trade will expire July 24th
so Tio you got a week to think
about it think about it for real though
jumps jumps is saying
wait where to go zero company was a timet
he failed because he put eight dollars
with only three dollars left
oh what
oh that's so fucking funny see what sucks about this
is I'm just trying my best out here in these streets
I don't know the but I'm doing no but like
Y'all be making face critics way more difficult than it is.
But that only helped because I talked to you about the drops.
Remember, and I was like, wait, I'm trying to drop these things.
And you're like, oh, if you are trying to drop something, it'll auto do it.
So this was a mistake I tried to not have.
Did you wait?
Did you think you would get the money back for a job?
No, you don't get a money back when you drop something.
No, no, no, no, no.
That's not what I thought.
But you were saying, like, the way the bids work.
Because you can choose to drop something and then bid for something in the same week.
I did a bad job asking the question I was asking.
And that caused that and this fucking sucks.
I need justice.
I whatever.
I'm going to.
Yeah.
No one else fucking.
I'm going to go.
I'm going to go for it.
I need shit.
Andy, what's your last game?
I mean, come on.
It would be so out of character for me to go for any other indie game.
Even though I think there's maybe one or two indie games that I think might score and review better.
But I can't stop talking about this damn game.
Valormortis.
I was thinking about it.
It's a game I cannot shut up about the developers of Ghostrun.
running a first-person soul's like there have been so many
Steam Next Fest demos that I highly encourage people go play.
They are so freaking fun and good.
And it's one of those weird ones where, you know,
you just never, the idea of a first person soul is like,
anytime I see mods of, oh, we made Securo or Eldon Ring
into a first-person game or whatever,
it's never, I was like, I don't really have interest in that.
doesn't feel like it would be satisfying in any way.
But the way the combat works here,
I think they just kind of nailed exactly
what they were trying to do.
You have a gun in one hand that you could use
to kind of, you know, shoot weak spots or whatever.
You have kind of bioshockish powers
where you shoot and fire out of your hand or whatever.
And different melee type of weapons
that, you know, have different move sets.
The rapier is going to be more like stabby, stab or whatever.
But the feedback you get from,
parries in this game is
it's way up there in terms of
just how it feels and sounds
and looks and the way
that the enemy's moves
are really telegraphed and nice
and every boss fight that I've been
introduced in this demo. In these demos so far
have been a lot of freaking fun.
I think this game is going to be an absolute
banger. I cannot freaking wait for it to come out.
All right.
Tim.
My indie game,
I'm going to go with a wild blue
guys coming in just a few weeks. This is the indie Star Fox-like looks really, really good.
It's hilarious is coming out right after Star Fox 64 remake, but game looks fantastic,
sounds fantastic, it wears its influences on its sleeve. The first level is literally a remake
of Cornaria from Star Fox 64. But yeah, from everything I played to this, I'm like, oh, this is definitely
one of the better Star Fox-like games. I still have my reservations about it.
Like some of the things I care about most
like the cinematic music and presentation of Star Fox
This one doesn't necessarily seem to be hitting where I need it to
It's a little more like
High Octane Arcade music you know
But excited for it and I think it looks really good
Art sounds your poppy very cute
What's your fifth and final pick?
Yeah bless I am now locked into the licensed IP picks
And I have three Andy has selected one of them with Star Wars Zero
company. I'm just going to give a little shout out to one, but I'm not going to select it.
That is One Piece Grand Gourmet. I'm very excited.
Oh, yeah. Is that this fall? Pick that one. I love all things One Piece. It is this fall.
You honestly should. That's the game dev story devs. And like they make good shit.
They're going to make a really great game. I'm very excited about all the cool One Piece character
sprites that you'll see as they come on to your own Baratier.
The most upsetting thing, it wasn't a summer game. I'm so excited for this game. But
what I'm going to pick, because I'm an,
Ilphonic guy is Halloween.
I cannot wait
for the next Elphonic game.
Being able to play Halloween
is going to be so much fun.
Going down to that 4V1
asymmetric game that I love
so, so much. I love the
cat and mouse game. I love
the game of Chase in these horror games.
And Elphonic has really made a
reputation for making these games.
Some that we really love, some that were a couple
of misses, but really, I can't wait
to see what they do with Halloween. I can't wait to
play it. They've had so many chances to play it out at Paxes and I haven't got to play it yet,
but I'm there day one.
Damn, GameSpot doesn't even have it on the calendar.
That's a great call, Mike.
Yeah, thank you.
Do you think the single player is going to hit?
I don't know.
I'm in it for the multiplayer, so I don't know, Bear.
Didn't even know there was single player in it.
Yeah, I didn't.
This is a single player, uh, player trailer.
Okay.
I think you do like, there's a guy gets me excited.
Because I, I'm with you, Mike, I think that this is going to be one of the Elphonic hits.
I think that's based on the IP and what they can do with it.
But having single player, this is the only way to get me in.
Do you think I just play as the killer of them?
What do you go both?
You think you flip off and on?
Switch back and forth.
That's exciting.
A cool little like fun.
Teach you tutorial.
Yeah.
Of course, of course.
All right.
It's my fifth final pick.
It's for indie.
And I'm at a weird place.
I'm going to go on a journey because I started looking up Indies because you
guys kind of took all the ones I was going to go with.
And so like I leaned on blighted, which I'm not going to go with.
Mainly because I don't think it's going to be this fall.
Blighted is the game from
Oh, what's the name of the studio?
It's a Guacamalee studio.
Oh, yeah.
Their next game.
Drink box.
Drink box, thank you.
It's the next game coming from Drinkbox.
Art style looks really cool.
Gameplay is kind of like soulsy
in a really cool way.
But I don't foresee it this fall.
I was then thinking about the Jonathan Blow game,
the Order of the Sinking Star,
because that's a B type of game,
but I also don't foresee that coming this fall really,
and so I'm not going to go with it.
And then I landed,
on, and I'm not gonna, this isn't my official pick,
but I really want, I really wanted to go with Dusk Fade.
Have you guys seen this game, Dusk Fade?
Mm-hmm.
Looks really cool.
Kingdom Hearts very kind of third-oh, dude, it looks so good.
That game looks so good, and it's coming out August 13th.
It has released it.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Looks no way.
That was the first game I ever wish listed on Steam.
Really?
Yeah, yeah.
Nice.
So I'm newer to the Steam world.
Yeah.
Yeah, this game looks visually awesome as hell.
And I'll be honest.
Third person platform.
I should go with this game.
But I'm not going to go for this game.
Because I'm going to go with this game called Agent 64.
Have you guys heard of this game?
Okay.
I have not.
Until yesterday when I read the name Agent 64 and I'm like,
and it has a subtitle, right?
Yeah.
Spies never die, I think.
And I'm like, what is this?
Okay, it's exactly what I thought it was.
Very cool.
So Agent 64 is basically just GoldenE.
Some indie devs were like,
what if we just made GoldenEye in 26?
I played the demo of this game.
during, it was like my first Steam Next Fest
that I ever remembered, that I downloaded
the demo for this, played it, and went, this feels
exactly the way I wanted to feel. This is such a fun,
cool idea for a game. Made me so nostalgic for playing these games
growing up. And it now has
release date. It's coming out August 11th. So it's only a couple
weeks away. Oh yeah, a lot of really cool indie games coming out
in those first couple weeks in August. And this is... I was an August
Hater at the beginning of this episode. You turned me around?
Wow. Yeah. Andy's coming through.
Agent 64. Spies never died.
that is going to be my fifth and final pick here.
Damn, because I was going to recommend that you go with the early access debut of Emberville.
Emberville.
Emberville is a game kind of made by a studio that co-carnage has a lot of involvement with,
streamer co-carnage and podcaster.
And they just announced their voice cast,
and it's every voice actor you could think of.
and it's going to, but it's a top down sort of like, you know,
uh,
Zelda sort of looking game,
but it's Diablo meets Sardu Valley.
And so you are doing a lot of crazy cool, you know,
2D pixel arts combat with a lot of relationship,
house building,
you know,
that sort of thing you would expect from a Star Do Valley sort of game.
But the,
they announced the voice cast yesterday and it's Abu Bakar,
Salim.
It is Matt.
It is Matt Mercer.
It's Ben Starr.
It's Jennifer English.
What game is this?
Emberville.
Who's making it?
It's a small indie studio that they are coming out in early access this fall finally.
And but yeah, just the word ember with the, yeah, there you go.
So yeah, very kind of Stardue valleys when it comes to cutting down trees and building houses and, you know, making a little homestead, talking to the neighbors, this and that.
But the more action sort of side of things is very.
very,
um,
dungeon crawling Diablo
style of game where you have a bunch of different classes and things like that.
But the voice cast that they announced is just insanely stacked.
This reminds me a little bit of grave seasons.
It's another game coming on in August.
That is also kind of a Starry Valley like game,
but there is like a horror mystery going on in the background and real fucked up shit
happening.
And it has like a persona type calendar,
or I guess a Starry type calendar because that game had a calendar.
But you're trying to like figure out like,
get to the bottom of a lot of like weird fucked up murder in supernatural stuff.
A lot of cool games coming out.
Barrett, is it possible for you to put in a poll with our four names so people can vote?
I'll read through our picks here.
Well, you can read through it, but for the video watchers, I'll have this up for you.
And I've already made a straw poll.
Let me find the link that I made.
I'm going to drop that in both the Twitch and YouTube chat.
So y'all can vote live.
So to recap our picks here, Andy, for new ice.
IP picked Phenomblade Zero. For licensed, went Star Wars Zero Company. For sequel, went Gears of War
E Day. For Indy, went Valor Mortis, and for Wildcard went The Legend of Zelda Ocreen at a time. Tim,
for New IP, went Pro Jank Footy. For licensed, went Marvel's Wolverine. For sequel,
Onamusha Way of the Sword. For Indy, went Wild Blue Skies, and for Wild Card went Castlevania, Belmont's
curse. God, such a good pick. Mike, for New IP, went orbitals for licensed Halloween. Sequel, Fire Emblem,
fortunes weave, indie, screenbound, and Wildcard, Ace Combat 8, and then me, I went
New IP, the Blood of Don Walker, licensed, Star Wars Galactic Racer, sequel, Control Reson,
Indy, Agent 64, Spies Never Die, and for Wild Card, I went Marvel, Tocon, Fighting Souls.
As people are still voting, I'm going to knock out a bunch of super chats, of course,
y'all rode in with some of the games that you're looking forward to, but let's start off with
Krono Rig, who says, Tim, we're going to eat to, Tim, we're,
going to get two different,
I don't know where I saw eat.
Tim,
we're going to get two different
orchestral soundtrack,
Zelda music in Ocreen at a time remake
in The Legend of Zelda movie soon.
Well,
I won't let you know I've thought about that
on multiple occasions.
I am so freaking excited.
I'm very interested in
when we're going to hear more about this movie.
It has to be semi soon.
Like, I just want to know what direction they're going
because like what music are we going to get?
Are we going to, like,
how much are they going to like
tie into like the core Zelda theme?
Or is it going to be like, because a lot of Zell games, they don't even feature the theme.
They just kind of like hint at it.
There's like a motif of it.
But like, are they going all in?
Can't fucking wait.
What music do they not use and instead use like a license 80s song?
Like I'm really interested to hear like what that's all about.
We can get none of that.
I guarantee you not a single.
There will be no bullshit.
I'm just choking.
I know, but don't bring that into the fucking world bear.
Can you goddamn?
Tim, a lot of things are bad.
And it honestly wouldn't surprise me.
Spartan 2842 says GTA 6
Ace Combat and Gears Ede
Aaron Lyme says big fall for Konami for me
Melo Your Solid
Collection Volume 2
Silent Hill Town
Oh
I forgot Silent Hill Town Fall
Although I guess I like my list
I don't know if I'll replace anything
But that one I'm looking forward to
Castlevania Belmont's Curse Ace Combat
Then they say wait
I don't know why they said wait for Ace Combat
Ed Reed fan
writes oh not Konami I guess
whatever. Ed Reed fan 20 says
Meteorological
seasons always begin on the first
of the month. For example, winter
December 1st to February 28th
slash 29th.
I fuck with that way more.
Shaselai 909 says
Fire Emblem, Bot Switch 2 just for that game.
Snow 13 says for me, most anticipated
is Ace Combat 8. A lot of Ace Combat love here.
Onamusha, Firemblum, Fortunes
Weave, Star Wars Zero Company and Final Fantasy
Resonance. None of us said that one either.
Really loved Final Fantasy Brave XVs and can't wait for people to experience.
It's good to know that there are people that loved it.
Yeah.
Because I never, I don't know if I ever knew what the consensus was on Final Fantasy Brave XVs.
And then a few more super chats for you.
Luke David Sims says after two remake and then F. Silent Hill Townfall has got to be up there for me.
I'll personally always get more excited for third person, but still.
Darth Onslow says team Cohen or team Logan.
The Vampires versus the Wolverine is crazy.
Nice.
That's one.
Trimbly Wimbly says, I'm sorry I just started this episode.
The $1,500 sign didn't include shipping.
And then soft lock, Jake just says, remember, a vote for Mike is a vote for Hilda.
Hilda.
Dude, you have to drive down that.
That's insane.
Now, looking at this list, I really like Andy's list.
I think those games speak the most to me.
I mean, Zelda Arcorina.
Yeah.
Yeah, it really does a lot.
Because he's got the tactics.
He's got the shooter.
He got the hack and slash Perry game.
I like my list, but I feel like,
great games.
All of y'all's list, I feel like has an X factor in a way that I don't know if mine.
I guess Control Resident might be mine.
But the fact that Andy has Ocarina,
Tim has Wolverine and Cassavania,
Mike has Fire Emblem.
It's a really tough one.
I'm going to take it away just because I haven't seen like some votes are coming in,
but it seems pretty solidified if we're done with Super Chats and want to see the results.
We're done. Give us the results.
All right.
Tim is in fourth place with 12.
about 13% of the vote.
I'll round up.
That's interesting
because when I just looked at them,
I was like,
yeah, no, I'd go with my list.
Mike is in third with around
20% of the vote.
I'm in second with around 25% of the vote.
And then Andy takes first place,
the Taste King,
with 40% of the vote,
about 41% of the vote there.
So congratulations, Andy.
Thank you.
Thank you, everybody.
When I was starting that,
you know, when I'm looking at the list,
I'm like, damn, I'm first,
and I'm not going to go second,
for so long. Like, I'm not going to get my second vote for such a long time, but
that Zelda. That Zelda. That's evil. Of course, continue to comment in the YouTube and
