What's up and welcome back to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Monday, September 23rd, 2024.
Of course, I am your host, Tim Getty's.
I am joined today by the new face of video games blessing at Ae O'EA Jr.
Good day, Tim.
The Big Daddy himself, Greg Miller.
Hello, Timothy.
And the nitro rifle, Andy Cortez.
Good morning.
You're looking good in that shirt.
Powerful.
Can I see them do the thing?
You want to see them?
Yeah.
There they go.
There they go.
I didn't know if you had that ability.
Nick taught him.
Nick Don't know.
Oh, man.
You got to love to see it, everybody.
How you can do it?
Greg.
I'm great, Tim.
How are you?
I'm good.
Really good.
It's another week.
A lot of exciting things happening.
We're on the precipice of so many exciting games.
Kick it off a Monday this morning.
I was like, we were talking out of slack.
And I'm like, my gut tells me a state of play.
We should probably prep a predictions episode.
I'm happy at it because here we are doing our predictions for the state of play that happens tomorrow.
But before we get into all of that stuff, remember this is the kind of funny gamescast.

A little housekeeping for you.
You already got blessed Mike, breaking down the update on everyone quitting at Anna Perna on Games Daily.
The stream after this will be Mike and Nick playing Hitman 3, VR reloaded, which I'm sure is going to be fun.
How long do you think till Nick gets sick, Nick or Andy?
I mean, I feel like he's going to give up on it pretty quickly and they may have to pivot to something else.
Because I've been in there in the room.
Warzone?
I mean, we could do Warzone.
I don't know.
It's like the audience.
Yeah, I don't think it's going to last very long.
We'll see.
Mike might have to sort of drive for him.
Yeah.
And then later today, if you are a kind of funny member, of course, you get the daily
Greg way.
Every single day, Greg puts out a exclusive video for kind of funny members on Patreon or
YouTube.
Today's all about if we would ever do another comic book podcast.
That's right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Interesting stuff.
And then later today, we're going to do the kind of funny podcast live for members.
You can check it out.
Otherwise, you'll have to wait until tomorrow.
We can watch it on YouTube or listen on podcast services around the globe.
Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs and Delaney,
Twining. We appreciate you so very much.
Today we're brought to you by Shady Raisin-Himms,
but we'll tell you all about that later.
It's time to start with the topic of the show.
PlayStation State of Play predictions for September 2020.
We are days away from Tokyo Game Show.
So PlayStation is doing a state of play to coincide with that,
maybe build a little excitement, get some announcements out of the way,
so things can be played then.
etc, etc.
They announced today on the PlayStation blog.
State of Play is back tomorrow, September 24th.
Tune in live for news and updates on more than 20 upcoming PS5
and PSVR games from studios around the world.
The 30-plus minute show begins at 3 p.m. Pacific, 6 p.m. Eastern on YouTube and
Twitch and will be broadcast in English and Japanese.
See you tomorrow.
A lot of information to work off there.
You know, we got the time.
30-plus minutes.
Got the amount.
20 plus games and they're also
tripling down on PSVR2
still being something that they are talking about.
So we're going to go through every single thing
that we might think will be there
and whether or not we think it's actually going to show up
and what they might actually announce
or reveal about said things.
But before we do that,
I want to go through our kind of top level prediction stuff.
Now remember, I don't need to predict
every single thing that's going to be there.
We're going to do that throughout the episode.
But is there anything that you guys want to start off
predicting as a,
thing that you want to hold on to, a pizza bet type situation where you're like, I bet this
does or doesn't happen, but you want credit for. I don't have an initial credit thing.
My initial worry is like, God dang, 30 plus minutes for 20 games. Like, how many sizzle reels
are we getting? Are we getting two sizzle reels with at least eight games? And we're having,
let's focus on some other games for more time. I'm kind of worried about this runtime, Greg.
Yeah, I can understand that. But I think it'll be the usual where the main,
meat will get it's
three minutes a pop you know what I mean
it's two minutes a pop here's an actual trailer
an actual announcement and then yeah smaller stuff
is bundled together slash gets a
60 second trailer and here's something else from our
partners blah blah blah blah blah blah there's five games
coming to PSVR
yeah right two that's one of my predictions right
three or fewer
PlayStation VR2 games
and I think one will just be some weird
mode tossed in something there you go
what games get in the mode
it's tough to say you know
it's really tough to say I think it'll be tacked on
to something.
Or, like,
maybe even for a game
that's already out,
that'd be my prediction.
Could it even be,
though?
I mean,
I don't know.
Astrobot.
Yeah,
exactly.
I mean,
like people would actually
be pretty hyped if they could do.
Yeah,
that would solve a lot
of astrobot haters out there,
you know what I mean?
You think we're getting Astrobot stuff tomorrow?
That seems like a no way.
Let's just hold.
Let's see that conversation.
How about you just host the show then and don't let me go?
I said,
do you have any one thing.
And I said the VR thing and then you started crossing.
Oh,
you're just going off on an episode.
Oh,
I made a show. Let's get mad at him.
Good freaking Lord. God damn.
Blessed, Ed. Do you have anything that you want to lock in?
I mean, stuff I have is like stuff I'm pretty sure we'll get to.
I think those would probably be a more exciting state of play than any of the ones that we've gotten in the last couple years.
Really?
Yeah. I think I'll feel good about that.
Yeah.
Do you think it hinges on one announcement?
I think it hinges on a few.
I think there will be one announcement that we will all be excited about.
Yeah.
I mean, I think I'm going to say we get a new Destrating 2 trailer just because we know they're going to do that.
Destrating 2 roundtable.
at TGS. And then also, there are articles that went up today about PlayStation bringing in 10
games to TGS. And so you got Astrobot there. You got DBZ, Dragon Quest, Dynasty Warriors, Infinity
Nikki, Millegro Sala, Delta, Metaphori Fantasia, Monster Hunter Wilds, Neva, and Sonic Cross Shadow
Generations. So, like, we're going to get a trailer for, I imagine, a handful of those
would be my guess. So I think if we get another, let's say, Millegers Solid Delta trailer, that'd be
awesome. That'd be awesome. Monster Hunter Wilds, that'd be cool, right? But on top of that, yeah,
at death's training.
And then we were having this conversation
earlier on Games Daily about
Ghost of Tsushima too.
And I think conventional thinking
will lean toward,
oh,
that's something that you probably saved
for our game awards.
But there's something about it being TGS
that could align well
with it being Ghost of Tsushima
and taking advantage of like
the Japanese aspect of it
and going hard with that.
So like,
there's part of me that is thinking
we see that here.
How hard though,
that's my thing is I think,
I don't think you go too hard with it.
I think it's at best,
it's a, you know, like, a soul plan across a battlefield, right?
And this is all cinematic.
Yeah.
And then it's like, you know, sucker punch, right?
And then it's just gin doing the kicks out of the sword, and that's it.
That's my, that's, and then Game Awards is the, hey, here's a real trailer.
Exactly.
That's the exact same thing I'm thinking is like you get some pan or you get even just a logo of Ghososu Sishima 2 and then game awards to get a full trailer.
Glad we're right there together.
What fast food place are you thinking of right now?
In it out.
Arby's.
Oh, damn.
I don't even like it.
I'm thinking Arby.
Greg, what's your hype level for the state of play tomorrow?
You know, on the kind of funny scale, I'm five.
And I like that because I think that doesn't have me overly hype.
That doesn't have me somewhere that I can't get out of.
It's a state of play.
And we've had a lot of state of plays.
And we rarely walk away from a state of play being like, holy fucking shit.
I think this is PlayStation's chance to fulfill its third party contracts as always,
but then also start changing this narrative, right, to get away from Concord and away from
live service and get away of like, okay, cool, here is something showing you. We are making
Ghost of Susha Matu. Here are a bunch of great games that are coming to this system. I wonder
how much you get the pro involved in all of this. If you're talking about that all of these games
are going to have a pro mode, that'd be exciting. I think especially considering that what it's
the day after, the 25th, that the pre-orders open up for you to actually go buy a PlayStation
5 Pro. I feel like that's common sense to get out there. I'd be interested to see what they're
thinking of for other 30th anniversary announcements. Obviously, you want to promote the fact
that, or remind people that you can get the, you know, PlayStation anniversary stuff
pre-order the next day as well.
So I think there's a lot of opportunity here, but opportunity for PlayStation, I think,
rarely leads to this is, we crushed it.
And I think it's because state of play is state of play.
That's that we know what that is, right?
It's not the big PlayStation showcase.
It's a state of play, which means you kind of know what you're going to get.
And it's going to be, these games that blessing list off this insider gaming article, right?
Like, yes, I would be incredibly excited to see more metal gear.
I'd be so excited to see Monster Hunter Wilds.
Never, sure. Yeah, let's go.
And then if we can just get a ghost of Susha man there.
But if the big announcement that's unheard of is Horizon remake,
yeah, days have gone, well, days have gone.
What would you be expecting from a Metal Gear?
Because I feel like we've seen a lot of it.
We don't have a date.
Yeah, we don't have a day yet.
Like, do they just replay the old trailer with the date of the end?
I mean, give me a new trailer.
There's so many iconic scenes from Melger Solid 3 that I think it gives us one of them
or even give us like one of the bosses.
Not like big boss, but or not the boss.
Because one of the five, you know, five Copeland.
Like, what was it?
The first boss is that B-Man, right?
The guy is the bees.
I'm B-man.
I got the B-B.
Or is that the fear.
No, the fear is like the, he was in the trees and he poisons you.
The pain is the B-Man.
Yeah, pain is the B-man.
What a great game.
What a great-game.
Chad calls out Freedom Wars too.
Free-Morse as well.
I love to see-4-Fremors.
But again, I think that's a, you talk about like,
that's a 30-second, 60-second.
There it is.
I got a weird one.
And I think that we're going to get some notification, whether it's a graphic on screen,
whether it's a voice at the end of it, enhanced on PS5 Pro.
And I feel like...
I think that's at the start.
That'll just...
No, but I mean like with...
Oh, you think they're going to go all of these games...
I think they should.
All these are running on PlayStation 5.
Oh, see, I see it more of like they're not really going to, like, be in your face about it.
Because I feel like some of that is like, hey, our old console sucks.
Get this new thing.
It's way better.
But I feel like you're going to have a little bit of a graphic, like a little, a little, like,
floating white thing on the bottom left.
Better on PlayStation 5 pro.
Yeah.
Your shit sucks if it's not.
I doubt great that it's going to be a everything you see here.
I mean,
just even just looking at the list of games that he,
that, uh,
Bles just said like,
I doubt Sonic Shadow is going to be able to,
to do that just because of how close release dates are,
uh, to the pro coming out,
which is what first week of November, I think.
I think it's November 7th.
But do you have Sonic and Shadow in the state of play?
I think so.
But like,
because that's,
that's the weird thing about this is I,
in my hype levels are,
I'm similar to Greg, like maybe five or six, just because I do think that there's things I expect to get there, like potentially Metal Gear Solid release date that I am excited for.
There is room for some big announcements, and I want to get kind of some actual answers to the day is gone and Horizon stuff, just knowing that they're official so we can move on.
We just got to, we got to, I want to hear everybody else's hype level as well, right, on the scale.
We got to nip this in the bud in the chat.
Anthony Carbone is running around talking about Wolverine getting people all hyped up.
And you got this guy Quinn talking about Spider-Man 2 DLC.
Shut up.
All of you shut up.
That's not happening.
That's not what this is going to be tomorrow.
That's not it.
It's a state of play for TGS.
It's going to be fucking A-Loy.
Maybe if you're lucky, Deacon St. John.
You know what I mean?
Maybe fucking boozer riding around.
A.K.
All right?
Calm the fuck down over there.
Paris will.
He says Spider-Man 2-DLC is coming.
In this state of play?
Absolutely.
In this state of play, Paris.
Get that in your 10 out of 10-plus.
Squire of you out of here.
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff because it is TGS.
I mean, we've been talking a lot about it on Games Daily
in the recent months that
then making their return to TGS
and like PlayStation having a presence there.
We know Kojima's there with Death Stranding and then we
now officially know a state of plays coming.
With the amount of rumors, I'm like, this does sound like it's
going to be a solid state of play at the very least.
I don't think that we're going to walk away from this being like,
wow, they fucked that up. You know what I mean?
Yeah, no, I agree. Deacon St. John's the full name.
Yeah, that's right.
Oh, wow.
I didn't know that.
Who's man?
I might dial back of like the,
that this might be the best state of play that we've had in a while.
I think that does hinge on death raining too
and a reveal of ghosts of Tsushima too.
But even now I think about it, right?
Like, I mean, Astrobot was the last day to play.
And so it's not like the slack and slack and stuff.
Like Astrobot and this is how many it's sold or whatever.
And here's fucking,
we're dropping new levels,
DLCs today.
Let's get into some actual like thing by thing predictions here of like what we think
will be there and won't be there.
I want to start off with the general stuff.
A lot of this is holdover.
from the Summer Game Fest days.
And starting with the general
big unicorny type games, just
to see if we think they'll be there. I think it'll be a
pretty quick yes or no here, but
Judas. No. No.
Hollow Knight Silk Song.
No. No. Wonder Woman.
No. Can you imagine?
07. Let's think about it.
For a second, let's live in that world.
And in Bioshock.
No. No. Right? Do you think
there will be a big new game
announcement that is
something that we
that's not a known quantity
something that hasn't been announced yet
and I'm not talking about like ghosts and things like that
like something that we do not know about
a third party new announcement
any third party or first party
but just a new
big game of consequence
no I'm gonna say no I think we will see
some smaller titles that we haven't heard of
or seen before and they're gonna wow us
and we're gonna be kind of blown away by how cool
it looks like god dang this the game
are we gonna say wawi wawi hot dog
wow we how we hot dog maybe said
I even mispronounce it right there.
Wow, Howie Hot Dog.
But no, I don't think
that we're going to get like some thing
from a unknown quantity type
third party studio.
Like, oh shit, this is what they've been working on
this whole time.
I don't think we get anything like that.
Yeah.
There's a couple potential games
that we'll get to later
when we start breaking down
the actual third parties
like Capcom and Square.
There's potential.
I just don't think it's like.
Do they come out and say like
actually when we said that we bought
Blue Point, we immediately like
nixed that deal,
but we never told you.
also sorry.
Apparently a lot of you have been wondering what they've been working on.
We don't know.
We don't know. We forgot to tell you.
Let's move on to PlayStation Studios, Blue Point.
Like, do we see Blue Point here?
No.
Yeah.
Lower your expectations.
I say this every time.
Don't listen to Carboni.
I think we're going to be focused in on 2025, if anything, which is why I'm like,
Ghost is either going to be here or at game awards, because that game has to be in the next
couple of years at this point.
But then outside of that, I think the question,
is what is going to come in 2025?
Because I think there has to be more than what Death Stranding 2 is the only first party game announced.
I mean, just talking about BluPoint.
Is BluePoint's game coming in 2025?
No.
Blue Point's game gets announced at whatever showcase is happening in 2025.
The big showcase.
I'm not willing to say.
I doubt it.
I doubt it.
I doubt it.
But I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility you can come in 2025.
I just don't think this is where you announce it.
Oh, yeah.
I agree.
This is a Game Wars or a PlayStation showcase thing at this point.
Yeah.
totally god I can't wait for it
what's it gonna be
but sticking with our PS studios
PS5 Pro what are they going
like how are they going to handle the messaging
of that and are they going to announce
because the one big question I have is
we know that it's going to be a mode
in the PS5
pro just like PS5 has where it's like
you get either fidelity or performance
mode and everyone gets to name me
whatever they want every developer has their own thing
but like is that are they going to
have to
how are they going to deal with talking about old games being upgraded?
Like are they just going to be patches or at some point are we going to see complete editions of games
that include like DLC and it has the PS5 Pro enhancement and all that stuff?
And like do you think they get into any of that they hear?
It's either going to be, I don't think they get into it is such eye of a holder thing, right?
I think either it's going to be in the front, a message that these are all running on PlayStation 5 Pro
or I think
shit fuck
they have to talk about PlayStation 5 pro tomorrow
right in some way
seeing as how they're trying to sell it to you
the next fucking day
so I think it's got to either be
I don't think there's no mention of it
so I think it's either got to be
everything's running on it
or there's little lower thirds that pop up
of like running on place or maybe you know
the start of something it also says PlayStation
yeah that's that was my guess earlier
I think it's just going to be a small little
footnote little lower third
little thumbnail thing on the bottom left
that lets you know
and then at the very very end be like and by the way pre-orders are going up tomorrow and that's where you get that big sort of notification uh i haven't talked to blesser andy about the PS5 um pro since we're talking about the announcement stuff are you or the 30th anniversary stuff what are you guys planning on purchasing if anything of the 30th anniversary collection i mean i'll try to get the pro yeah
but that's it yeah i think the controller yeah let's talk about this on khd i don't know if i want to do the full console but like is that
Oh, you don't worry about it.
It's just going to clash my room.
Ah, okay.
But maybe a dual sense edge.
I'll bear, put this away.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
Are you aware, though, that the PS5 Pro bundle is like everything?
Oh, you can't buy it standalone?
No, it's PS5 Pro comes with the edge and a stand and the charger.
It's like, it's probably going to be a lot of money.
The connectors.
Nah.
Mm-mm.
Yeah?
Give me a, nah.
I don't need a normal...
You want an edge, though, right?
I don't need a normal...
Wait.
You love edging.
I do love the edge, but
it, is it coming
with a regular controller as well?
Yeah.
Just by default.
I don't, I don't know.
I just got a lot of extra stuff.
I was gonna say,
hey, I was about to ask you at it.
Let's see the price set.
If you tell me what you don't want out of it,
and maybe I buy what you don't want out of it.
Well, I live with him, so I get dibs.
I like this.
I know.
I like this.
The highest bitter.
Damn it, Barry!
Look what you did.
I want those cable ties.
I want that PlayStation paperclip so bad.
Oh, my God.
So then we have a couple remaster rumors going on.
Let's start with Days Gone remaster.
Boozer!
It's probably happening, right?
This seems like one of those slam dunk things of like,
where there's smokes, I always like to say.
Yeah.
And there's smokes.
So I think we get this.
But Greg, what do you think this looks like?
I think it looks visually impressive.
I think it'll have all the power of the place.
What do you mean?
Like, do they call it,
Days Gone Remastered?
Does it come out?
2024.
Do we get the date here?
Oh,
okay.
I like what you're saying.
We're getting it here.
I think for sure.
I'm not willing to go that far.
Yeah.
And I mean,
part of this is the Jeff Grubb thing
where he like addressed that of like,
well,
no,
I didn't say this is at state of play.
I said it is being worked on.
I don't think anybody said this is coming as state of play.
Well,
it's just the rumors lined up together is all it was.
Yeah.
I still feel it.
Okay.
I think here's my thing is I think you get this or Horizon tomorrow.
I think you put both out there.
You are just writing the message in all the haters' eyes for PlayStation.
You know what I mean?
Like PlayStation knows that they're putting out on all these remasters.
They don't need to have everybody be like piss off about it, right?
I think you put out Horizon.
Horizons, I'm not trying to insult the days gone fan base.
Horizon is popular enough that people will watch that and be like,
oh, I'm excited for that.
Oh, no, I'd like to buy it.
And I know there's people who want to get back into Days Gone,
but I think the amount of people who would be willing to do Horizon remastered
is far more than Days Gone remastered.
And so I think putting them together just crafts the narrative
you don't want from people out there where I think Days Gone,
serving the Days Gone audience is fine with a blog post.
It's fine with Hey, I also don't think this is something that you,
like a Days Gone remaster is something that you announced that far ahead of time.
I think by the time you announce it, it's probably like either about to come out
or you're about to put on the store for pre-orders or whatever it is.
The Bill Bill Coon from Deal Labs, I believe, was the one that,
called that, you know, called out the store page they saw on the back end or whatever.
However, he gets his leaks.
He saw Horizon.
He's not said anything about Days Gone, which makes me think that a day's gone, like,
pre-order page or, like, it showing up on the stores a bit more further out.
My gut tells me, just with these rumors coming out as close as they have and with the PS5
pro now being real and us knowing information about it, I feel like these things are all imminent.
Like, I think that they are going to want to get the remasters out with all the PS5 updates
that also enhance for PS5 Pro.
Give people a reason that haven't bought a PS5 yet at all.
Give them more things to be excited for buying a PS5 Pro.
And I feel like it, I imagine that days gone, once it gets announced on with you, it's going to be very close to release.
I think we might be there, though.
And I feel like at this point I would count close to release up to March from now.
And I don't think that they were going to announce it for next year.
But like, I think that potentially days gone is this year.
And Horizon could be early next year.
and that wouldn't surprise me.
Do they call it director's cut?
That's the biggest thing, man.
I don't know what the hell
in the names are going to be
for any of these things.
Because I don't think,
I don't think Days Gone is getting,
I see O'Berry did there,
actually, that's very smart.
Come on, man.
But yeah, that's the thing is,
I don't think Days Gone is getting new content,
and so I don't think they call it Directors cut.
I think Remastered is going to be the going forward,
not going forward,
but for the ones we're talking about.
I think both Horizon and Days Gone
are going to have remaster in the title.
The director was cut.
I mean,
I would be shocked.
if they did, they said nothing.
They didn't sub-tile, I mean, subtitle at all.
It's just Days Gone on PlayStation 5.
Mm-hmm.
You know what I mean?
Because what Last of Us Part 1, which I know is a little,
I'm getting a little apples and orgy, but like,
it was just last of us part one, right?
The whole point of doing this is just so,
when you go buy it on the shelf, there it is.
You're so right.
Yeah, that's what I think is going to be.
It's just like put it out, but without it.
But it is just going to be a remaster.
Of course.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, like, because until dawn, it's just until dawn, right?
Correct.
I think
Whatever until dawn is
That's what I think Horizon
And Days Gone are going to follow
I'm like 90% positive
I don't know why part of me feels
Like they're trying to
Almost remarked days on in the way
It's until dawn remastered
Well then fuck
Wait hold on on GameStop says that
Best Buy just calls it until dawn
And the box art is just until dawn
It's just until dawn
This is the official like PlayStation page for it
So there you go
Dave's gone
Andy
You were saying something
Yeah I just feel like they're like
I feel like this is PlayStation's attempt
To almost remarketing in a way
like it's a brand new game.
Remember that last of us TV show,
how popular that was that had,
you know,
real human actors and everything looked fantastic.
And the video game was just like it.
It had zombies.
This is almost like that.
Like this feels like kind of like a,
hey,
you may have missed this back in 2019
for new audiences that we've had
in the last couple years or whatever.
Give this one a shot.
Yeah,
I think it's just called Days Gone, though.
I don't think it gets any sort of tagline to it.
then Greg did add a prop bet here of
what's the time to John Garvin tweet
if Day's Gone remastered the show
I'd say within the hour
an hour
yeah dang yeah I'll take the
I'll take um
29 and a half minutes I'll take the under
I'm within a day I think it's gonna be a bit more than an hour
but it will happen within the day
he's got some emotions got a stew for a bit
Yeah.
I'm gonna say that evening.
You gotta give them time to get home.
Drink some whiskey.
Fly out the handle.
Light some candles.
Because it was all day long, like fighting the ears.
Like, don't do it, don't do it.
You know what?
Fuck them.
I'm gonna do it.
Then moving on to Horizon Zero Dawn remaster.
Do we think it's here?
Yes.
A thousand percent, yeah.
Yeah, 100%.
And then what do you think the release plan is?
Was that TV show coming out?
Well, remember it seems Kimbo.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now there is, actually, let's bring them the next thing here.
Lego Horizon Adventures.
That's this year, right?
We don't have a release date, but it is this year.
But I'm almost positive we get a release date for it tomorrow.
Like, I'd be willing to bet that that shows up tomorrow.
And so I feel like you don't want to put those out.
That too close?
My new jerk on the remaster would be, hey, we're putting on in January or February.
I think January.
Yeah, I was thinking March at the latest.
Yep.
For some sort of like, it's going everywhere as well.
well, PC as well.
The only flip of it could be that, hey, this thing is amazing.
The game was already beautiful.
Now it's remastered.
And with the power of the PlayStation 5 Pro, it looks better than ever.
So we're trying to get it out soon to match with that.
But yeah, I don't know where that would leave the Lego Horizon game.
I mean, there's still two Horizon ones within like six months, though.
That's insane.
This is Horizon Directors cut, though.
Right here, the Lego one, you're getting so much more content.
I mean, it's insane that we're just getting a Lego Horizon game anyway.
Like,
yeah.
Verizon's
gonna be such a
slam dunk title
to release with a PS5 pro.
Yeah,
exactly.
And so I'm,
I'm gonna say November.
I can see it.
That would make sense.
Wow,
that would be awesome.
And also we've heard about
this is November.
We've heard about,
you said that you didn't have a date
for this.
No,
we don't.
But I mean,
this is going to be November.
They're not putting this out of December.
Right.
The story changes
they could put it out in December.
I don't think.
To me,
this is definitely a November again.
All right.
We'll meet about it.
Because I feel like this is the definition
of a Black Friday game.
How big of a deal
do you think they make
about Horizon Zero Dawn
remaster though?
I could see that being one
where it's like,
oh, by the way,
this is happening
and then like they move on.
When you go to the store,
pick the Lego one up
for the kids
and the big boy one up for you.
Your house will be set
for Horizon.
I love Tim looking at this
to say,
this is the definition
of a Black Friday game.
It is though, right?
Yeah, yeah, of course.
And it comes out on
on Switch as well.
Like, I feel like
they're going to want this out in November.
The big question is
if it,
If PS5 Pro is coming out November 7th, which I need to look up because I keep saying that,
does it come out the same day?
Because ideally I feel like that would be the move.
But not that this game necessarily is the same audience or needs the power of the PlayStation 5 Pro.
But I'm thinking November for sure for Lego Horizon.
And I think the zero-dun show tomorrow that with a date that is before February next year.
Okay.
That sounds right.
Well, I didn't get it.
What's your hype level for tomorrow?
Did you put a score on it?
Yeah, I said five or six.
Just because it's like, I am excited because there's things I want to know coming from this.
And that's usually where I'm going into any of these showcases of like, is there anything that I'm hoping to be surprised by?
Or is there anything that I'm expecting to get answers for that I want?
And it's the latter here.
I don't think I'm going to be surprised by anything.
Okay.
But yeah, let's move on to some of the other potential first party studios here in Somniac.
Wolverine, Spider-Man 2, DLC.
There's just zero chance.
Zero chance that it's at this, correct?
100%
Correct.
I wish,
I want.
I'm ready.
But no.
That'll be the big one next year.
Along with
Corey's game,
along with naughty dog,
all that.
Like announced next year.
Yeah, announced.
They don't announce.
No, they're all coming out in June.
They don't announce.
About any of the Leaf games.
Any of the one?
The Leaks games from Insomnia.
You always talk about,
people bring up a venom
whenever we have this conversation.
Which I'm of the mind.
I don't think Venom is being worked on anymore.
that's why I never predicted
because people are always like
movies are so popular though
they are they make a lot of money
last time like even though we all hate them
they make a lot of money
I think the Venom game is still being worked on
and for some reason I feel like that
was maybe given to a smaller
studio as a
almost a standalone kind of
Miles Morales DLC type thing
here's what I'll give you all right
people are all there is gonna
Paris Older is going to be
I don't know if he's saying today
he's saying Spider-Man 2 DLC
I'll give you
that perhaps
perhaps
and I'm saying
in a thousand to one shot
this is not me
actually predicting this
the best you'd get
from Spider-Man
from Insomniac tomorrow
would be hey
Spider-Man 2
is enhanced for PlayStation
5 Pro
so we are
that we're excited about that
and we're putting on
more challenges
or something like that
new costume
yeah here's a
here's three new costumes
and here's new
glide through the city
swings as fast
you can challenge
and shit like that
not like a DLC
like there's a story
or your venom
or anything like that
just to have the conversation for the millionth time.
It's been a while.
Do we get Spider-Man 2 DLC?
I don't think so.
Like real stuff,
real media,
the city that never sleep stuff,
no.
I think especially with the success you saw with Miles Morales.
Why do something that's less than,
right?
Like,
we're doing this DLC,
and it's not as good as the game you just played.
And it's not as good as what a standard,
like, I'd much rather see insomac be like,
cool, Spider-Man 2's done.
Now we work on the five-hour,
six-hour,
venture that we're going to sell for 40 bucks or whatever.
Yeah, because I'm with you.
I feel like if we were to get it,
it would be building up to some type of Spider-Man 2,
complete edition, enhanced edition, or whatever.
And I don't think...
PC release.
Oh, yeah, PC release for Spider-Man 2.
I guess actually that would be the modern thing of what I was about to say,
which is like, last time, there was the next-gen version.
There was remastered.
There was all that.
We're not in a position that we need that anymore.
And I think that even though we don't have all the answers,
the PS5 Pro is going to be a patch.
I don't think it's going to be like a paid download or like a new version of the game.
I think it is just a, hey, there's a new thing that you can, at some point the devs are going to put out.
So, yeah, I'm with Greg.
I don't think we get a DLC.
I'm also very interested in Venom.
My gut tells me we don't get the game ever, period.
But I definitely, if we did get it, I think that that's after Wolverine.
I think Wolverine would be the next insomiac project that releases.
Sure.
That'd be awesome.
Unless there's actual Spider-Man 2 DLC.
I just don't think there is.
Yeah.
And then Santa Monica.
Sony's Santa Monica.
Corey Barlock's next game.
Tomorrow,
absolutely not.
A zero percent chance.
That's a game awards teaser trailer that sets up that they're doing something and then that's that.
Yeah.
Noddy Dog.
Anything from Noddy Dog?
Absolutely not.
If anything,
it's just Last of Us 2.
Right.
PS5 Pro stuff.
But like that's just the.
It's the other thing too of like what Outbreak Day,
Last of Us Day is Thursday this week, right?
So it's like they might, I, I, we always start planning state of plays as if we were making them where we would kind of celebrate stuff like that where state of play does not.
So I don't, I don't think you see anything.
If not, I guess, Nottie Dog, you're going to hear from them this week when they celebrate last of us day.
But it's going to be as usual, here's some stickers.
Here's an in-game event for whatever crossover here there.
Like, I don't think you're going to hear them tomorrow.
And I don't think you hear anything about their game next year.
Officially.
And then you brought up Astrobot.
Astrobot's going to be here.
Officially they said that.
What does that mean?
The game is done.
The game is out.
We do know DLC's on the way.
I was going to say maybe this is where you show time challenges
and where you show the challenges and the time trials
and maybe you drop them immediately.
They're available now.
I hope I would love to see DLC.
I think it's too early for them to talk about it
because I feel the way they've been talking about the DLC
makes it sound beefier than just challenges, you know?
They could just put out challenges and that'd still be exciting to me.
But like, I am expecting to get a,
DLC from Astrobot that is multiple new levels and potentially another PlayStation themed world or something.
Do we get any sort of talking points about, you know, If Astrobot has even talked about, right?
Do we get any sort of mention of critical acclaim, you know, all the, everybody's loving it?
Do we get any sort of thing like that to sort of like try to entice people?
Hey, you should buy this shit. Everybody loves it.
I hope so.
Insanely high scores.
Yeah.
I think talking about like, oh, especially if they do.
some sort of DLC announcement, I think, talking about, oh, yeah, and everybody loves it.
Look at the, like, yeah, talk about the reviews, you know, highlight how it's been a celebration of PlayStation 30th anniversary.
I mean, especially if you announce the, I don't know if you have it on the list, but if you announce, like, the pricing or whatever of the PlayStation 5 anniversary stuff, you can do a whole anniversary section where you highlight astronaut as well.
Roger Pocorne is locked in today, everybody, because obviously he tweeted out about the sonic thing, glitching out, maybe turning into a shadow director,
whatever tomorrow. He also just put into the chat
Astrobot DLC. You enter a
PS5 Pro and that's where all the pro challenge
speed run levels are.
I like it. It's locked in today.
I love how people think that they just have it
all pulled together. You know what I mean?
When Vic Lucas was like, no, they're going to
announce the pro, then it will immediately be an Astrobat.
I'm like, Victor, you beautiful idiot.
I love when you think PlayStation's a competent company.
They would have it all tied in that way. That'd be amazing.
It ain't happening, Raj. But, Raj,
that's one of those reasons you should work at PlayStation.
I feel like that's more likely than what Vic was saying.
But I also think it's just too early for it.
Like, do you think that we'll get a big Astrobot DLC announcement tomorrow, Bless?
Big? No. I'm on the side that. I don't think it's going to be a big thing.
I think it is going to be like, hey, here's, here's, at best, maybe a world of challenge levels, right?
I think we maybe get like six to eight of those.
Greg Zolnsworth.
God, he's dying.
You never know what's a bit and what's not.
You know what I mean?
Just the way he got up.
It was so traumatic.
I think you get that.
I can tell that one was going to be a crazy one.
I think you get out of it.
I think you get the feature of being able to...
Sorry, I'm a consummate professional.
What was that word?
I think you get leaderboards.
I think you get some kind of a challenge level leaderboards.
Yeah, track how fast your friends list, you know, did those levels and shit like that.
Yeah, I don't think there will be an astobot of any sort of.
large substance.
Like here's a brand new world
with new story bits.
I don't think that happens at all.
Ever.
Ever.
Man.
I don't know why.
I don't know why I feel.
I feel like they've said that,
but maybe I'm wrong.
Any other PlayStation Studios
announcements made?
I think you get it.
Well,
I mean,
I'm playing fast and loose.
Well,
yeah, PlayStation Studios.
Yeah,
okay.
You know,
the proper now,
not the little one.
Hell of Iris,
we could still see something from,
right?
They could drop the trailer tomorrow
and hey,
we're being invaded
by the new enemies
and everybody get going, because there's always a,
well, there's this purple dot over here,
and what does that mean for the galaxy and so on and so.
So I could see Arrowhead popping up and having that.
Again, I don't really think it will happen,
because again, that's not how PlayStation,
I feel like it's been treating it lately.
Hell Livers has his own community, its own thing.
It could be its own event on its own.
It doesn't need to be propped up by State of Play.
It could be cool.
Yeah.
And then let's move on.
Well, I wanted to bring up,
did you have multiplayer stuff on this?
Let me read this real quick.
This is from IGN, Rebecca Valentine,
Barrett tosses up.
Speaking to IGN, Team Asobi
Studio Head, Nicholas Doucette
Is that how we say? Yeah.
Told us there were plans for eventual free
DLC for Astrobot coming quote, unquote,
soon after launch.
He says it will be based around adding more challenge levels
of the game, shorter levels focused on specific
platforming challenges, but that they
won't be the only component.
Okay, so yeah.
Soon though, would work out for tomorrow.
Yeah. And again, another great, like,
you know, like Astrobot had its big critical moment
and then it's been quieting down,
so like, let's pump it back up.
never been a better time to hop into Astrobot on the PlayStation 5.
I just can't imagine that Astrobot finishes without Final Fantasy stuff.
Like I feel like it has to get in there.
Do you think they're just saved in these challenge levels?
I really hope not.
I really hope not.
Unless it's themed a little bit more than that.
But oh, fuck, I think you just cracked the code in a very unfortunate way for me.
But I'm still excited.
What about Bungie Marathon and Fair Games?
I don't think so, right?
I mean, I don't think so, no.
Fair games, man.
That is not the time to poke your head out right.
now.
Yeah.
Hey, guys.
That was $40 sound.
It's like,
you too.
But you can
marathon, I'd also
say, unless you can,
I would not say shit right now.
Um,
and then let's,
let's,
let's talk about it.
All right.
Because we have to.
PSVR2.
You know,
I wrote down PSVR2.
What's up?
What's up?
I like you do that.
I like you do that.
It's pretty great.
Like Tim interviewing an actual PSVR2 unit on the seat aside from him.
Um, I,
I mean,
going to be
no more than four game
announcements tomorrow.
And you're saying
under three.
I'm saying three or fewer,
which I know it gets more.
But even that,
it's like,
that's wishful thinking.
Well,
I shouldn't say that.
That's like,
if I'm a PlayStation
Vier or two fan,
wishful thinking.
I think in reality,
you'll probably get
whatever mention.
One,
if there's a game there,
it's a double A.
It's got some IP.
Oh, it's going to be aliens.
Alien.
Yeah.
They'll show more.
I got to remember because they showed that one trailer that one time we all laughed it out of the fucking room.
When Mike was like, that looked great.
I'm like, what did you see?
Are you surprised that they're marketing this as 20 upcoming PS5 and PSVR 2 games?
And like PSVR 2 is so heavily in the conversation still with the way that they're presenting this?
No.
I am.
I think when you start getting to this level and they want to set expectations and they want to say they have 20 games that they have more than 30 minutes,
I think it's just makes sense
if you're going to show a PlayStation VR2
game you'd say it there
because again, you pay
first off, you're damned
if you do damage if you don't
because if it was,
let's say they have two PlayStation VR games
and they didn't say PlayStation VR2
all the comments would be
on the day of like,
oh, it's only 18 games
in the PlayStation VR2
and then it would also be that
you can get the people
who are still in a PlayStation VR2
to come here and be like,
oh, what's going to happen?
Yeah, yeah,
they're talking about it,
they're excited to some degree.
Is that Batman game coming to PSVR2?
No, that's MetaQuest.
It'll be a couple years.
state of play,
2027 will be making predictions.
It's one of those where it's an,
it is an interesting conversation, right?
Because remember, of course,
they,
Camouflage made Iron Man for PlayStation VR exclusively.
Then Camouflage got bought by META,
and they did put out,
PlayStation, or Iron Man onto meta.
So it could be,
maybe it is,
you scratch my back of your scratcher,
how long or how far,
I don't know,
but it could be a thing of,
yeah, like, okay, cool,
we're going to do this and launch it over there.
And then, yeah,
put it out over there.
To get an update on that Metro,
VR game.
The thing is we've gotten
announcements for PSVR2 games
in the last couple years
where it's just they're announced
and then it feels like they go away
and you don't hear from them again.
Everyone saw them in Metro.
I feel like that's like
they're just maybe should have even just said
hey.
We're gonna have more Metro.
19 games and Metro.
So if Metro and this alien game
are thought to be on PSVR 2
are there any other known IP
that we think announced on
PSVR 2 or is it going to be
a random shooter that
of a.
be a random shooter.
That looks very colorful.
Might have roguide elements.
Might have rhythm elements.
So nothing from like here's a,
even a Sony first party sort of.
If, again, what if they announced a new Resident Evil
and then there's just another VR mode for that, I feel like.
Oh, we didn't talk about R-E-9.
Damn, that's it.
We'll get there.
We'll get there.
But yeah, now that's,
we'll save that conversation for a little bit later after.
But we'll talk about that later.

And we're back.
Kojima Productions, everybody.
Death Stranding 2.
On the beach, we know it's going to be there.
But my questions for you are a new actor slash featured person revealed.
And will we get a release date?
yes and no
yeah I think you'll see somebody new
who I'll say Ella Pernell
from uh
oh that he's all out yeah yeah yeah
she's got something they're putting in there for
uh and then yeah I just don't see
the big question I don't think it's release daytime yet
will we hear a song from that Roger
uh the Roger who was it
Caroline Pollich
too soon
yeah too quick dude you sign a contract
but Andy do you think
release date.
You know what I'm saying
you'll see a Caroline Polichick song tomorrow.
Oh wow. Okay, I like that.
I don't think we get a release date.
I think we do see
like more random
elements of kind of
gameplay snippets.
And I'm going to say
we do get a new actor, but it's not going to be
Ella Pernell from fallout.
I feel like that's a too soon scenario as well.
Chris Parnell.
Also from Fallout, I guess.
Yeah, you're right.
Great.
Every game adding a giant hand.
They know it gets you.
I hate it so much.
I'm also going to say no on release date, but I'm going to say yes on a new actor.
I just can't think of who it is.
Jen is watching says, David Hater.
Oh, man.
That'd be fucking awesome.
That would be fucking cool.
So,
do we have a release year for this yet?
Like, is this a 2025 official?
Yeah, that is.
Okay.
When do you think it comes up?
I'm going to throw a real future prediction,
right now. This has nothing to do with the release date. Ella Pernell will be in the stealth action game that he's working.
Wow. Yeah. But for this. What's that game called again? It's like based on the, we thought it was a studio name or something.
Siggint. Siggint. No, that's the character.
But it's something like, fizzint, fizzint. Yeah, physical interaction or whatever, interactive.
I'm going to say a release date for Death Stranding 2, September, early September.
They would never put the date on that far out.
You're crazy.
Oh, I'm not going to...
Wait, what do you mean?
No, I'm not saying we're getting it tomorrow.
He just said they're going to say that date tomorrow.
I'm going to say May.
I think you're going to get in May.
Huh.
Yeah.
And do you think Game Awards?
You hungry?
They announced a date for Game Awards.
Yeah.
I'll buy that.
The announcement of game...
Oof.
The announcement that we're getting in May.
Take it to the bank.
Okay.
Wow.
Take it to the bank, everybody.
I'm going to say September.
I'm going to be with Andy on this one.
This fall, we're going to go to Succia.
It's the greatest year ever.
I like that Troy Baker.
SGF, we get the date.
Okay.
This is one of those that you don't show your children.
Like, if you're Troy Bayer, you don't show them this because they'll be like,
like, Daddy, I'm scared.
You know?
I don't like seeing you like this.
I just love this little guy.
Moving from Kojima to Konami.
Will Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake eater get a release date?
Yes.
What will it be, Andy Cortez?
Because we know that it was like pretty much delayed, right?
Like we got the, like, it feels.
On one of the PlayStation, um, it was an
montages thing.
Oh, was it an Xbox?
It was PlayStation.
No, I'm thinking of like the PlayStation montages.
Yeah, when they announce, or when they show off like their slate of 2024 games,
they had Miller-Gersault Delta in there as coming out in 2024.
I feel like it slips.
I don't think it comes out this year.
I don't think it's stubborn as fuck,
and I don't care that everyone's going to tell me I'm wrong.
I think we get a date, and I think it's this year.
I think it's February.
I would be so stoked.
I know we're running out of time,
and I know it doesn't even make sense,
but I'm just like,
there's just also nothing that said it's 2025 yet.
So I'm going to say March.
March sounds the most accurate.
I would say March, yeah, makes a lot of sense.
Outside of that promotional stuff, though,
did they ever say specifically in a trailer this year?
No, I don't think so.
Okay.
The amount of things times we've seen the game,
and how complete it looks
and the fact that there was a preview
event for it.
I'm just saying,
there's a preview for Tales of the Shire
which is also not coming until March.
It was supposed to come out like tomorrow, right?
I don't know.
I forget.
That shit got delayed last week.
Yeah,
it actually,
I don't think it ever had a date.
They never had an official release.
Really?
They just said 2024.
Yeah.
I'm hopeful for 2024.
Do we see the Metal Gear Solid
Master Collection Volume 2?
No.
No.
You know how to get those games on there yet they were saying.
No way.
And any other Konami announcements.
No.
No. No.
None of that stuff.
Moving to Capcom.
You do you think we see Silent Hill?
Oh, well, Silent Hill, we just got the release date for it.
So it's like, they kind of like, I don't know why they did that, right?
Like they could have just weighed it a little bit.
But I, I,
Silent Hill is one of those like 50-50 ones for me where I feel like they've already said everything that they need to.
So they don't need to talk about it again.
But this being a TGS adjacent thing, maybe it's there in a monroe.
or something, but I don't think there's anything
new to announce for it.
I feel it.
Monster hunter wilds.
What do we see?
Is it just like,
check out this new?
It's a new monster
being hunted in the wilds.
See, I think it'll be a trailer this time around.
I think you've already gotten the,
hey, this, that, the other.
I think it'll be a trailer.
That's just a hype trailer.
I asked this so many times.
Do we have a release date for this?
February 2025.
Okay, cool.
now moving on to the big one
do we get a Resident Evil 9 announcement
no we don't
I think that's game awards
yeah that sounds like a game awards thing yeah I feel like
Resident Evil 9 I get it makes sense to be here
just with TGS and everything but I think that
they want to give Monster Hunter
it's shine I don't think that they necessarily step on each other's toes
but RE9 to me feels like a
Capcom needing to take Resident Evil
in a slightly different direction than they have been
with all the remakes and just with what they've done
with seven and eight, I feel like nine is going to be
the biggest kind of step in a new direction
that we've seen in half a decade from them.
What do you think that means?
I don't know, but just thinking about seven and eight
being first person and that being a huge divergence
from what they traditionally did
and then their remake series being what it is,
I feel like nine's going to be more different
than similar to,
the 7 and 8 model.
But do you think right off the rip
you get the ability to do third person?
Something like that, I think,
would go, would be far enough for me.
It's just an option.
Yeah, exactly.
Do we get state of plays in December still?
What was the last time we got to?
Wasn't that?
Wasn't that the Kojima one last year?
When we got the Byzant or whatever?
Somebody, yeah, somebody check me on that.
Because I could see it.
I feel like a Resident Evil,
a new Resident Evil is a state of play announcement
or a PlayStation Showcase announcement.
I think it's a PlayStation
like focused event announcement.
And so like if we have one in December,
I'm going to say it's there.
If there's not,
I'm going to say we see it here.
Whoa.
Yeah.
I mean,
when would have Resident Evil 9 come out?
I'll think next year, right?
I mean, I think that's a big maybe.
Like I feel like that it's,
we are due a Resident Evil just because they be pumping these things out.
But again,
I also think that they might want to let it breathe.
just a little bit because I
can speak for myself as a
Resident Evil fan. I'm a little burned out with
how quickly these things have been coming out.
Yeah, but if 9 comes out and it looks totally different, right?
Yeah, but even totally different.
I don't know how different it's going to be.
You know, it's still, the core of it's still Resident Evil
where the remakes in 7 and 8, like, they're still Resident Evil games.
Ethan Winter's still going to be running out there?
No. His story is
done. In his hands. Thank God.
Do you see Pragata?
yes
I'm gonna say yes
I'm gonna say yes
Mike brought it up on Games Daily
and I think that frowny phase
of the worst star is gonna
it's gonna pop back up
and then it's gonna turn to a smiley thing
I think we do
for some reason
like I wouldn't put that game
in showcase territory
I think just because of the
nature of the type of game it is
and I don't think
that it's been one of those that's been
long anticipated in the similar vein of
you know a Wolverine or
Hollow Night Silk song like it doesn't have that sort of
cachet to it of like oh my God it's just the one the Pragata shows up at
I don't I think it's just kind of like this weird game that exists out there
that's one of those we're going to get it popped up there pop something like oh yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah I really do think that this could be the one for Pragana
I don't expect to see it but I'm with you that like it I wouldn't be shocked if it was here
but I don't think it's going to.
So Fisant was at a January 31st state of play.
And the last December one,
I'm going back far.
The last December one must have been the R3 one.
Yeah.
Well, it was a little devil inside one that I think was in.
It was like five of those.
And I want to say that must have been like 2022.
Do we get little devil inside here?
No.
I don't think we do.
Man.
No.
I think there's a chance.
Yes.
I'm going to say yeah.
Yes.
Why not?
Any Capcom fighting game related news?
I don't think so.
I mean, we've gotten so much recently that like, I guess.
Marvel versus Capcom collection, or no, a Marvel or a Capcom fighting game collection number three.
We don't have the date yet for SNK or whatever they're calling it.
What is it?
Just the fighting game collection, too.
Whatever that one is.
I don't think we see it, though.
It's too close to the announcements of all these things.
things and that's clearly a 2025 release.
I agree with that.
And then any other Capcom announcements?
Dragon's Dogma DLC?
A gritty reboot of Mega Man 1.
Yeah, yeah, I don't...
What would it be, right?
They're not going to be Dead Rising DLC from...
Devil May Cry's, like, at some point, Devil May Cry 6 will happen.
You're dreaming too big, though?
No, yeah, I don't think it's going to be here.
But, yeah, I don't think.
I'm going to say something, Dragon's Dogma.
something something
it'll definitely be on the
PS5 pro enhanced stuff
oh yeah that's a good call
you gotta let people know who's getting a PS5 pro
that drag a zong will look and run better on that
moving on to square enix
when we get any Final Fantasy related
announcements the big thing right now is the
rumors of Final Fantasy 9 remake
Final Fantasy Tactics remake remastered
something or other
I think that those games exist
I do not think this is the time that we show them.
I concur.
Yeah.
Because I feel like those are the,
those are weird announcements that they're either,
they're gigantic deals,
but depending on the scale of the project,
it is either a, oh yeah,
it just pops up in the state of play,
or that is like the megaton
of the showcase type announcement,
thanks, but.
Could there be something seven rebirth related?
I feel like there's nothing to say
besides the pro enhancements that they already
kind of talked about, right?
And the PS5 pros reveal.
Queen's blood as its own game
We're spinning it out
Mobile
I need it so fucking bad
That would be a weird place to announce it
That could eventually happen
I think it will happen
But yeah not yet
But that would be freaking awesome
I need more
Dragon Quest related announcements
I don't think there's anything to announce
I think we already have all the info we need on
1 through 3
You think I'd remind us of the
Is 1 through 3 the remake that's happening
In November?
Yeah maybe
Sizzle reel or something
But again I feel like
You can't deep dive on some
that we already have all the answers to.
Speaking of, Kingdom Hearts 4.
It's Tokyo Game Show, Andy.
I don't, I'm going to say no
because the last Kingdom Hearts 4 announcement,
the first one was, again,
one of those 2.30 in the morning sort of announcements
that in West Coast time,
you're hearing about it like three in the morning,
like, what the fuck?
What? Did they just, what?
And the internet kind of exploding
in that moment, but everybody's asleep.
I feel like it's going to be another one thing.
I think it's going to be another thing like that.
Yeah, I don't think we see it here.
Am I here?
Get excited.
I think being at TGS in some way, potentially.
That's what I'll say.
I think if we see it, I don't think it'll be in a state of play.
I think they're going to have their own state of Kingdom Hearts and Disney and all that shit.
Like, I think they demand an audience at a way that might, like, might supersede a state of play.
Yeah.
Yeah, because Kingdom March 3 announced at PlayStation E3 conference.
which is different, but I feel like that's the showcases now, right?
But we're, I keep saying this, but I think Kingdom Hearts 4, it's imminent to hear about it again.
But I don't think the state of place to place.
Any other square stuff?
I got nothing.
Forspoken DLC.
Take it to the game.
Moving on to Sega then.
Sonic Shadow generations, I think that we will see it here, mainly just like because it's TGS, because that game's coming out soon.
We have the Sonic Central tomorrow morning as well.
I mean, well, we see, yeah, with the Sonic Central happening.
I think it's just going to be a, the reminder it's here, but I do think.
I think it will be in the state of play to some extent.
I just don't think it'll be anything terribly exciting.
I mean, the fact of it is there is exciting.
I know.
We're so close.
Then there's Crazy Taxi.
I don't think we're going to actually see that.
Although Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, like, things just keep leaking for those games.
Let's go.
You know, so it's like.
Battle Royale, Crazy Taxi, I can't fucking wait.
You see that.
Yeah.
It's insane.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's go.
Have some fun.
Do you think that we see any of the Sonic Sega, Sega Super Game games here?
No.
No.
Because wasn't that hyenas or something?
I don't think we ever got confirmation on what the Super Bowl game is.
Well, I'm telling about all that when they announced a game awards or, yeah.
Oh, just all the revival games that they're doing?
No, no, not here.
And then Persona 6, Barrett.
No.
Does everything turn green?
No.
No green?
Absolutely the fuck not.
Okay.
And we won't even see metaphor, I think, tomorrow either.
Because I feel like Sega has kind of gone all in with Xbox on, like, marketing that game in particular, that not a lot of people, but I have seen, like, enough people that make me confused on thinking that metaphor is an Xbox exclusive.
So I feel like they're all in on the marketing for that.
It's way too early to announce Persona 6.
It would be fucking insane and honestly a terrible marketing move to announce Persona 6 right before your new, big news.
big new IP comes out in like a month, you know.
What about you were, don't say we were moving on there, but what about the, like a dragon,
pirate yakuza in Hawaii that just got announced, right?
That's a great call.
Because I didn't pay too close attention last week when I got announced.
Was there footage?
Did they?
It was pretty lengthy.
It was a long-ass thing.
Yeah.
Sick-ass like Devil May Crystile combat, a lot of aerial combos.
Sure, sure, sure, sure.
This is the one?
This is where this is the one.
I can see that in the Sega section.
I could see.
maybe a launch trailer for a metaphor.
Just for the fact that one,
it's in their TGS lineup here.
And then also I think we're close enough
to where you can just do one final trailer
and just debut it here.
And then just other section.
I wrote down Power World.
Like, I feel like there is a chance
that it comes to PlayStation.
Take that money and fucking put it into your lawyers.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know.
Like I, for some reason,
I feel like Power World's coming to PlayStation
sometime soon.
And I don't know where else you would announce it.
Sure.
Yeah, this is one I'm just putting out that.
I don't actually think it's,
A slam dunk.
Two, I'll toss out.
One, I think, is not very likely, but I'll say likely.
And the other isn't actually going to happen, but it'd be very fun.
So the likely one, Timothy?
Yeah.
Unknown Nine Awakening.
That game that looked like Forspoken.
And I went and did the demo of at SGF and has the woman from the Witcher in.
Oh, right.
And Yenifer.
And is part of the metaverse that has like, it's like, it's a comic book.
It's a podcast.
It's this game.
Get all that.
You don't remember.
If you are like, I don't even know this game, and I haven't even heard of this game,
it's coming out October 19th.
So they are in desperate need to promote this game.
So I can easily see Bandai being like whatever the agreement is,
if they have one with PlayStation to get it in here.
And they have a trailer for a no-nine a week in there.
What's the game with Ben Star that has a name that's very similar to that?
First Preserker Kazan.
No.
Excuse you?
Oh, oh.
You're talking about expedition.
Expedition.
Yeah.
Expedition.
But the first Preserker Kazan was the one that I was thinking of,
that I was going to bring up right after.
Greg talked about that because that's that
sort of anime souls like that we saw recently
at
TGS I think
I think no TGS coming up
I'm sorry not SGF
It was whatever we reacted to recently where I was like
Is that? Oh
Is that Ben Star?
The German
German Showcase. Gamescom
Thank you. Yeah
I feel like we could get another
showing of that here
Yeah
And then the other one that won't happen
But just it's you know
Interesting
you assume at some point it's going to happen,
but PlayStation wouldn't allow it here.
You know, in one week,
the hierarchy of the Western RPG
and America changes
because, of course,
Starfield shattered space is coming out.
And so I do think eventually
we're going to see Starfield on PlayStation, right?
So I obviously, I don't think PlayStation would be like,
hey, we're going to do that on this state of play
and it's not going to be out in time for the thing
to remind you to go buy it somewhere else.
But it's a fun one of like,
it's fun to start thinking when and where that's going to be.
It'll honestly be an Xbox presentation.
I mean, keep in mind, there is an Xbox presentation.
I mean, they wouldn't announce that for the same reasons,
but there is Xbox stuff happening this week.
Yeah, Phil did it.
I saw a video going around right where he was like,
we're doing some stuff.
So some of the things are talking about,
if they're not here, they could be there later in the week.
Player obscure Expedition 33.
Oof.
Yeah, there's a name.
You know what I mean?
Could we see Indiana Jones?
The trailer.
I doubt it.
Because we know it's coming to PlayStation.
But again, if I'm PlayStation,
and I doubt you don't have those marketing deals like we always talk about, right?
with Xbox and so at no point would I be like
if Xbox's like hey can we promote our game like no it's coming out months later
like I don't want people to be reminded that they have to go buy your system to get early
I want to get through a couple of the super chats
before we exit the show for the day
clan man asked about RE9 yeah I doubt it but I'm excited for it when it does
eventually come Tyler Crane says will the boys react to the Thunderbolts trailer
we will not we are just a little too busy today with the content that we have to
record but the Thunderbolt's trailer came out
I don't know if you guys.
Very excited to watch it.
This is coming out.
We're protesting it.
We're protesting the bolts?
Yeah, we're protesting the bolts.
How come?
I don't know.
Oh, okay.
Oh, the way blessed said, like, I was like, oh, he knows something.
No, I'm like, wait, did I get the wrong, there's some movie that we're protesting.
I forget which one it is.
Do you need about Falcon?
Oh, you're right, it is Falcon.
Yeah.
Captain America.
Fuck the shit going on out there.
Yeah.
Gerardo's cool saying, are you surprised VR2 has mentioned.
Y'all think it's new games, it'll be new games reports.
Vita 2 Shadow Drop.
also his happy Hispanic heritage month Andy
Kpas away
yeah we talked about VR2
don't think any of that's happening and yeah Vita 2
definitely not but like at what point is PlayStation
putting out of handheld?
Yep like something that's more
um it's called the portal and is that it though like is that like
do you think that we see in it like with the success of the portal
like do we see a either a portal 2 that does have more
on board stuff or whatever not it's gonna be tomorrow but like
I think I mean I'll even put that out toward like the PS6 generation
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking
Yeah, align them a bit more
Yeah, I think you maybe wait and see
Because Xbox's handheld feels imminent for some reason
At least imminently, they're gonna announce it
I think maybe you wait and see what they do and how they do it
And how like it is received and then go from there
I hope so
I hope that that's something that's being worked on
They saw the rate not only the reaction to portal obviously
Which outstilled their expectations
But of course the domination of the switch
this rumor that yeah
Xbox is doing it
the success of the Steam deck
the Rod Raj ally
like there's so much stuff
of like clearly there is like
oh we want our real games
on the go
that I really hope PlayStation's
looking at that
in an honest way
and being like
my the downside is
is it gonna be like
we get a portable PlayStation 5
the year before PlayStation 6
the year after PlayStation 6
you know what I mean
like this is the tradeoff
and I know everybody's trying
to figure out how to do it
but the people who really can
in that area
I'm stoked for it
jumping off of that real quick
a portable PS5, the year before the
PS6, or even after,
I don't think would be as bad as
it sounds because applying current
gen logic to that, it's like, that
just means we'll be able to play a lot of the same games
portably and then play the better
version on the 6 or whatever and have them all
be together. 100%. Like right now
I'm playing Starfield
in like four different ways
where I'm like, I've been playing on the X
and then I have an S at my desk
and then I'm playing on the cloud via a remote
play in the Steam deck. And then Andy
helped me set up my PC to see if I could get
RTX and all that jazz for it. So I'm like
again, how fucking awesome Xbox is. The saves just
bouncing around. You know what I mean? No, no
fuss, no must. I don't have to worry about it. I just turn it
on it reads the latest save, right? So it's like
using that kind of example, yeah, if I could
just have a PlayStation. Eventually, yes, you're going to be hindered by the fact that
all right, this is a PlayStation 6 game. It only runs
here, but even then with remote
play, right here, I'll set to go.
We got
we got a lot of things. I mean, I'm trying to
I was just going to say there's also like a weird kind of bit where
Steam
having the Steam deck or Valve having the steam deck and
kind of them having this
hey the fault isn't on us
you know that if that game doesn't run here
this is the hardware we know what it is where
with Xbox and PlayStation like there's a lot more
like onus put on them to say
hey this needs to run on this piece of hardware
as opposed to Steam is like yeah you could try to run it here
it is Steam compatible.
That doesn't mean it's going to look amazing or run great,
but it will be playable.
Where with Xbox and PlayStation, it's like,
you're saying this is the portable version of this game,
and this needs to look and run as amazingly as it can.
We've already seen the issues that Series S has had.
So it's going to be an interesting one
if they do try to go for that market.
We got Delaney Twining,
Wildcar prediction with a release of new fighting game collection
from Capcom and the hype of X-Men 97.
What about a Marvel versus Capcom install?
like a new one.
I think that we're building two nights.
Yeah.
I don't think we're there yet.
Yeah, I think we'll get there eventually.
But I think with Street Fighter 6 just having come out last year,
I think we're probably still a couple years off.
And also, like, it's coming off of the last Marvel Wars copcom,
which wasn't received that well,
I think they have a lot to figure out with that franchise.
And so I imagine for the next one,
they're going to be taking time with it,
especially if you're making it as like a reactionary thing of,
oh, man, people like the collection.
Oh, man, people like X-Men 97.
You're still going to have a lot of years,
putting towards starting it up, getting it finished, putting it out there.
But I think we're definitely going to get a Marvel's Capcom 4.
I definitely think so are five.
Yeah, sure.
Infinitely.
Yeah, I just don't, you know.
It's not counted.
It's not infinite, you know.
They didn't call it three.
They didn't call it four.
I guess we're right.
I think that you're absolutely right about all that.
And infinite had most of its major issues were its insistence on MCU and not including X-Men and all
this stuff, which is so core to, and Marvel versus Capcom.
My prediction would be the next
Capcom Marvel fighting game
I think it's just gonna be X-Men.
I think they go all in on
on X-Men and it had to be just
like the original of these
of just X-Men Children of the Adam
that I've been playing a lot of in the collection
but I feel like drum up excitement
of like lean into the X-Men 97
of it all and fucking go for it.
Lean into the old concept art
lean into like go for that nostalgic angle.
This is the better version
of NBC3 that you remember, you know?
If you're Marvel,
to you, I guess
the Marvel's Capcom infinite thing
I think is interesting because I think a lot of the fault of that
is probably put on Marvel
as opposed to Capcom, right?
Because Capcom kind of had their hands tied as far as roster
goes. Is there a chance as Marvel
you look at the space and go,
actually let's go somewhere else for our fighting game.
Like can you go to a
what are they called? Arc System Works
or go something like, hey
we just want to make a pure Marvel action
or Marvel fighting game.
Definitely.
Chui Barra says, will they announce
Lasapus Part 2 PC port
or will that be closer to the second season
of the show? I'm a little surprised
we don't have that already. Yeah, I feel like this is just a blog post.
And again, that is something I would say
just wait till
Lasovist day on Thursday.
That could be your Thursday. Absolutely.
That's a great call.
Another realm was the rumor. That was the one I was trying to think of actually.
Yeah, because I mean, now that they're done with Mortal Kombat
but now that the DLC's coming out. So it's like
that'll be the end of the,
Mortal Kombat
What is it, 12?
No, Mortal Kombat 1.
Yeah.
Just stick around for Maximilian
dudes, the mod he's doing
for Infinite, where they're making it look like
MVC 3.
Yeah, dude.
Doing all the shader stuff to kind of give it that comic feel.
And then final super chat of the day.
Sayer Theo says, Tim, what do you think of Transformers 1?
You're going to have to wait for tomorrow
for our in review if you are a kind of funny member.
Otherwise, the next day for everybody else.
else, but we will be doing Transformers 1 in review.
Very, very excited to talk to everybody about my thoughts on that.
Let us know in the comments below what your predictions are for the state of play tomorrow.
Obviously, we will be live reacting to it.
We'll do a games cast after the episode or after the reaction breaking down everything that we see,
which means tomorrow's schedule is going to be a little weird, but we're going to start with games daily at the normal time.
And then after games daily all the way until our live reactions at 3 p.m.
Snowbike Mike will be playing Kingdom Hearts 2.
continuing his journey. So it should be a very fun day tomorrow. So prepare to hang out with us all day long.
Until next time, I love you all. I appreciate you all. Goodbye.
