I do know what you mean because we just watch the Pokemon Presents for February 2026. We are live reacting to it at 6.30 in the morning. We hope you enjoyed it. Dots, dots, dots, dots, dots, Timothy. Yep. You came out of paternity leave retirement to come in here for Pokemon Presents February, 26. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Just, I mean, hey, Gen 10, I think looks great. That to me is like the one takeaway. Obviously, we can talk about the Pokemon Presents this being the 30th anniversary. Am I? let down by that, yes. Just from a presentation standpoint.

That didn't feel... Think about everything we watched in the pre-show. Exactly. We were getting how hype all that shit was to get here. You're like, okay. At the end of the day, though, that stuff doesn't really matter. What matters is the goods. I think overall, everything they talked about, which will go through.

We knew about, like, there wasn't really any real major, like, surprise. There was no surprise. Yeah. But there were good things. Like, there were good answers. Like, cool. We know April for Pokemon champions. That's awesome.

Yeah. We know March now for Gale of Darkness coming to games. GameCube. It's like, great. Some of the questions we've been having are now being answered. And then, of course, we got to see Gen 10 for the first time. And I can't wait to talk about that because there's a lot there that I think looks really, really good. I think that we need to keep our expectations, you know, in line with what is at all possible from a Pokemon game with all the considerations that we have to keep in mind, mainly that it's not just the games. The games are a conduit to the TV shows and the cards and toys and everything. So no matter what,

there's always going to be some limit to the core mainline Pokemon games, which isn't the best news to hear, but could be a good thing when used correctly. So far, this looks great. I want my voice acting. We'll find out later. Maybe, maybe not, whatever. But 2027, Switch 2 exclusive.

Hell yeah. Yeah. I think we start with Gen 10. I do. But even before then, what would you rate this on the kind of funny review scale? This is one that I wouldn't even want to put a number on because it's just like, it's, if I, I'd go seven, I guess.

Okay. Like, just because, yeah, they, they didn't piss me off with Gen 10. So that you were worried of being pissed off. Yeah, that's where you went to a Pokemon for Zed, kind of ready to be like, God, I hate my life. I don't hate my life. Why am I a fan like this? I'm very excited.

I can't wait to watch that trailer over and over. Like, I'm very excited to get back to seeing footage again. It's off the screen right now. And that is concerning to me. You know what I mean? I missed it. I can see the winds and waves. You can hear them.

That was the big part of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I obviously enjoy being here with you and waking up for it. It's what I've expected from years of watching you react to Pokemon. Where it's like, don't get your high. You know what I mean? Like, what are they going to do? How can they meet this?

They have so many products to get through and all that jazz. I would have loved more from Gen 10. I liked what I saw. I'm not taking what's the most they've ever shown from a reveal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like this, we should be shocked that we got to see in-engine starters. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they don't do that. Yeah, that's fair.

I'm happy. Yeah, and I'm not unhappy. with it. I would say on the kind of funny scale, I'd say it's a six, it's okay, maybe six, five, you know what I mean? Like, again, we enjoyed it and there's enough stuff there that I'm excited for. Again, I think we don't want to take away from the fact that if we didn't know fire red and leaf green were going to be out today. If they had just said that, that would have been a way bigger deal. It would now just already jump it into the like, ah, what am I upset about? Of course, I have to be upset. You're Tim. I was hopeful that the announcement would

come with like, yeah, fire red and leaf green are out today. They're out right now. Everybody can go by right now. But also, you're going to be able to buy the other Pokemon adventures over the next couple of years. Yeah. Gold, silver, hard gold, soul silver, ruby, emerald, all of them, right? And that didn't happen. So it's like, we're still in that waiting period of will we be able to play these games again or not? Are we just going to every anniversary, go back to Canto in a different form and like never actually move on from it? Like, that is a little concerning to me, but hey, it's fine. Pokemon's going to be here forever.

So no reason to be upset. It's downloaded. It's a go. We're, of course, streaming leaf green right after this, my first time playing it, so I'm very excited for that. Yeah.

Yeah, so let's get into it. And again, I think we, obviously we can go, and we will go through everything about it. But let's start with the meat. That's what you're here for. Show them the big card pack. That's what we'll do at the end, all right?

If you can make it through the rest of the Pokemon announcements, we're opening up this giant press pack, Tim was sent, that is a giant pack of, What will you, it looks like a giant Pokemon pack. There's other stuff inside. We don't know what it is. I call all the Haloochus stuff.

Timothy, Pokemon, wind, and waves. Of course, this had been the rumored one. We had seen this, the leaked one. At what point during this trailer, were you worried they were just going to stop here? And then, of course, they went through and showed you all the different games and little drawings, whatever. Then we got this game freaks.

And this is when Roger burst out laughing. Were you afraid we were going to stop there? No, no, no. know how they do these. Okay. We didn't get to watch in the pre-show, some of the videos I wanted to show, which were like the Scarlet and Violet announcement. Like there's a pacing to the way they do these. And they usually do, I mean, we even did see actually for the 20th anniversary video, uh, when they announced sun and moon. Like, they did the same kind of like concept art thing.

They didn't go through all the regions, but it was more just concept art of sun and moon. So them doing that here, I thought was cool. It was like, I didn't realize until Luminio City probably of like, oh, they are just going through all the different, um, generations. and leading to the new one, I immediately, though, liked the look of the Pikachu's. Yeah? You know?

Like, I know that it was just a CG thing, but there was the, the hair on Pikachu. We don't normally see that. Textured. You know? He's got some textures. And then when we saw the little,

you know, the swinging couple at the end. Okay. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. These Pikachu's be fucking. They do be fucking. They did look like it. I,

I liked that a lot. It just got bad. better after that for me. Okay, fair enough. Then walk me through, yeah, is there any debate on who your starter is going to be here? Look, no, there can't be. There's a Pomeranian.

Having said that, do you see this water gecko? Yeah, I do. I'm obviously going Pomeranian, but like, man, this is a hard choice overall. Gekwa is cool. And you know, thank you for pausing here. Because now I can actually take it in without like,

I want to let you know, Greg. This is how much I care about Pokemon. Sure. When we're watching this trailer, this popped up. I got so fixated on looking at each one of them that I started panicking that it was going to go away before I looked at the other.

Sure, fair enough. You know? And if you look back at the footage of me, like it wasn't until you said there was a pomerated that I realized there was a poverty because I was so... I saw you processing. Yeah. I saw you processing a lot.

There was a process going on. Yeah. I am a broken human being. But yeah, now that we can just look at this, this is a pretty good trio. I like this a lot. I think a lot of times you get to, hey, hear your starters and you go,

or any, there's one clear runaway on this one. For me, I want you to take Pombone. You know, I want you to have that experience. I would usually am a water starter. You know what I mean? When you look at Quacksley, when you look at for Alligator eventually, be coming him. Not my starter, I know.

I'm talking about to Todadal. But here I think I'm going to have to go, Brout. The chicken? Well, I think he's some kind of bird. Yeah. I don't know if he's a chicken. I don't know. I don't know. He insult him. I don't know. Is he a chicken? Is he not a chicken? Now, here's the big thing. and I don't even want to put this out to the world

because we all know what's going to happen. I need this Pomeranian to stay on all force. All right. I need this thing to evolve into a bigger Pomeranian. I don't need him to stand up. I don't want him by pedal. Please. Hold on.

I'm looking. Somebody super chatted a very similar thing. I can't believe. Mudboot super chatted said, don't make the starters end up being bipedel furries or furries. And I'm happy. Yeah. Yeah.

What are the odds of that happening? A hundred. Like, yeah. Yeah, prepare yourselves, everybody. This is my problem with these goddamn evolutions. Just don't do it. Let them just be. Let them just be.

I mean, honestly, I agree with you. I'll never forgive you for what you did at Quaxley Pokemon Company. Every time I play Golden Silver, like, my syndical stays a syndicle. Yeah. He's just so cute. God, I'm obsessed with this guy. I'm obsessed with this, Greg. Yeah.

This is amazing. So Gen 9, I went Spigitito, little kitty. Yeah, of course. And I named him Toretto because, like, he kind of looks like him. Sure, I can't, though. Yeah. Toretto's a dog, though. Okay.

this thing's being named move. I can't wait for this. It's a big moment for you. A big moment for you. Adorable. Talk to me then a little bit about going beyond the starters. This conversation of, yeah,

2027 and yeah, switch to exclusive. I want to stay on the starters for one more second. Sure. Just because like, something I was thinking about recently that I don't think we talk about enough. Sure.

Is while the bipedal thing is kind of a meme, but also it's true, I love Gen 8 starters Because Gen 8 Like it was Galler Which is like Europe Yeah

And it was like the like soccer themed adventure Um What they evolved into Is kind of awesome Score Bunny Turns into a soccer player Yeah Like straight up like a professional soccer player

And then they had Intellion The water one He just turns into James Bond Oh I don't know Like his final evolution Like he has like a tuxedo on And he fucking shoots water out of his hand

Oh okay That's sick as hell Okay, I like that. I like that. I like that and stuff. Anyways, uh, 2027, Switch 2. I'm happy.

I'm really, really happy about it. It's like, I want to be clear. I want everyone to be able to play games. It would be great if this was on Switch 1 as well, just so like more people can play it so that the games could sell better and all, you know,

all that stuff. Yeah. Just good. But this is Pokemon we're talking about. This is Gen 10 after the debacle that was gen 9. They'll never get away from it. Like we, I saw in the chat before we get into this.

Like, I saw multiple people even like, I'm just expecting another, like, performance mass or whatever. And it's like, damn, dude, that wasn't the narrative of Pokemon. Like, there were a multitude of problems with Pokemon games. But performance was not one of them. And now that is the number one thing people talk about when we're looking at these things. It's like, damn, you all did some damage to the brand of the games, right? Yeah.

So looking at this, I think that even more time, it's already been off cycle, like longer than expected to get a, the core Pokemon game. So, yeah, usually it's three years, right? This has been four already. Something like that, yeah. And, uh, but just it's since we had a scarlet and violet. It's just been a good amount of time. And yeah, a little extra more.

I'm so happy about it. And then Switch two exclusive, like let's just focus on one piece of hardware. I love that. I am with you, of course. There's so many switches in the wild, but like, I don't want to see this game held back by the Switch one. We're back to this PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Pro PlayStation 5 conversation, right? Where it's like, let's go.

Jay says, 100% expected to run like ass. I don't know why you would at this point. Like, again, Scarlet and Violet was the only one that ran like ass. Like Legends, Z-A did not run like ass. No, one even. Yeah. I want to give, obviously,

as many super chats that are coming through as much time as I personally can, right? David writes in on this conversation, 2027, right? Are we waiting 18 months for Gen 10 or is there potentially a spring slash summer release? Yeah, I think that like all options are on the table. Like, I feel like there's a

I think it's twofold. One is obviously they need more time to get this game right. Yeah. The other is they need more Switch 2s out there. I think it's a combination of both, yeah, yeah, for sure. And I wonder, you know, as much as we want voice acting and all that jazz, if that would even be, not that I'm saying they're patching it now. It's always been the plan and that's part of it, or if this is just going to be a souped-up

Pokemon, Scarlet and Violet that runs really well. I'm so upset, Greg. What? Damn computer over here with the hats that we've been looking at. have some... I've been fighting. I've been fighting it the whole time. An update was coming. It's about to be update. My favorite thing about the update was

we sat there, we're like, oh, it's got a thing. You went over and said it later. Yeah. Five minutes later. Hey, I'm wanting to update. And then five minutes later and now it's just like, I'll start myself. It doesn't matter. How about this? Focus on me for change. I'm focusing on you. This is your problem. You dads. You're all distracted by the babies and everything else.

Do you, you wanted, we, you didn't want a dream. The trailer ended when we were live reacting. Yeah. And I was like, hold on they need a voice here and like, no, they've already said goodbye. I'm like, no, no, from the game. And you're like, oh, that is it. What are the odds I get voice acting in this game? Ah, man, incredibly low.

Like, I think 10%. And that really upsets me. Like, especially like looking at this game, clearly the best looking 3D Pokemon game we've had. I'll never say it looks better than the pixel art ones, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like, goddamn, there's, this is, I was impressed by how this looks.

It's, if it doesn't have voice acting, it's going to be a major, and I think more than ever is going to be distracting. It was so hard for me to get over it in ZA because of the presentation. They present the game as if it should have voice acting, as if it does have voice acting. And it feels off because of it. This is going to feel incredibly off if we're not hearing voices. And I don't know, man.

Like, I'm not giving up hope yet. Okay, good. But I'm not expecting it to be there. And I will hold it against them. it's not. I mean, you should. We're talking about what games are, right? And even though it's Pokemon, it's not being made in a vacuum.

This is what I was talking about, you know, in our predictions you weren't here for it. But coming off of a million different games, but so fresh off the demo for Monster Hunter Story 3, where it's like, damn, can you imagine a Pokemon with this production value? You know what I mean? And like the battles look this cool and the acting's here. We're doing all the stuff. Be rad as hell. Yeah.

And again, it's hard because there has to be a thousand, 25 Pokemon. plus more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, it's like, there's just no way to be able to do all of that because Pokemon has balloons so big. The dream game for me,

I always talk about it, like, if any video game could just magically appear for me, it would be a Pokemon that is aimed at adults, aimed at somebody like me that has grown up with this. I'm not saying in place of these generations,

but something that is way more focused, it can just be 150 Pokemon, and Final Fantasy 7 rebirths, style production value and try something a little bit different, an offshoot, right? The Legends games kind of try to do that to an extent, but not really, right? So I think, and I keep saying this, but the presentation in ZA and Scarlet and Violet, like, Scarlet, specifically the DLC stuff where it was like very battle tournament focused. Yeah, yeah.

God, some of the framing of the shots and when you're in the battles, like, yeah, it is just Pokemon battles and it's pretty static overall compared to Monster Hunter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's like they do enough to be like, oh, wow, this is cool. And it feels more like the cartoon and ZA having a lot more, you know, active battles and stuff. Like it was hype and exciting. And the music's good.

It just didn't have voices. And you see the words and it seems hype. Exactly. You can imagine it being hype. And the cameras are going around and stuff. And it's like all of that is all of the presentations there. It just is missing an audio track. Yeah.

You know? So I'm hung up on it and I won't get off of it, Greg. I'm glad. It's very annoying. You got to push them forward. You're a fan. How beautiful the waves are. I mean, how beautiful the game is.

Again, as we run through this in, I don't know if this is in game or is it, whatever. Well, the rest of it we saw, like, yeah, it's really good looking. The wind, for me, it's the wind in the grass. Those waves look amazing. Again, if you're going to call it winds, you're going to call it waves. You're going to need to nail that kind of stuff. But no, this does look great. And I think, again, as I, as soon as it got going, you heard me say, oh, this is switch to.

exclusive because of just how it looks. And I think that's the power of moving to the new hardware and being able to commit and being able to go with him. Too much water. 7.9. 8. I don't know. But, yeah, it's, I, I am interested in the water. I like that we can go under. I feel like that is good.

I do. That's something that's going to shake it up a bit because I, the water is usually one of my least favorite parts of Pokemon games. Yeah. Which is why Gen 3 is not my favorite generation. some very inspired maps I feel like the on land stuff is some of the best but like yeah you're just swimming around islands a little bit too much and that's what this game

seems to be but there's the look of it and leaning fully into that I'm excited about and I'm really into this like foresty jungle area like it this looks a lot better than Scarlett in file which that's all I can ask for

hell yeah yeah yeah it looks great I can't wait to learn more when do we see it again? When do we get a real reveal of it? When do we get constantly, right? Like I feel like the, whenever generations reveal, like we,

we get pretty constant updates, like a ton of trailers that have very iterative announcements in them, right? Yeah. And yeah, 20, 27, like that's a ways away. Like,

this might be one of the earliest that we've seen, definitely in the last couple years at least, like, a new game and like the hype cycle for this is going to be, long. And with champions coming out as well, it's like that being the focus for the VGC side of things, like the, the esport, like that's where the competitive Pokemon is going to be played going forward. So it's not like in 2027, we're going to be playing in wins and waves, right? Yeah, yeah.

Playing in champions. So I want to stay with Gen 10 here and obviously so many super chats about it. My question for you would be, what's the obsession with island life? And I don't mean just here. I don't mean just winds and waves I mean Animal Crossing I mean a Lola region Like there's so many other things Why can we just go somewhere else I'm sick of the sand

I'm sick of the beach I'm sick of the waves Why do we Why do we revere the big island I mean I honestly don't even know where to begin Greg Like have you been to Hawaii? No

Okay, that explains a lot Yeah Yeah, yeah I like cities Yeah I like cities that are maybe more than just a big circle. We saw some cities in here.

Yeah, I know. You know, and that's the thing, too, like, there was, there was a couple cities in Scarlet and Violet, and it ran,

like, trash in the cities, like, there was just too much going on. But, like, there was a couple of them. Like, the bottom right of the map

that I was like, man, this is, this is cool. Like, I can't believe that there's a city this big, and, like, there was a ton of stores

you can go in, uh, in a Pokemon game, because it really felt like me me being a kid walking around the town and being like, oh,

we're here now. Yeah, it doesn't run well. There's a couple shots in this trailer that have more city, like, or town or whatever you want to call it, places that aren't just like the beachy areas.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That I was like, okay, cool. Like, this looks interesting. This little water park. See, I mean, that looks like a resort. You know what I mean?

Yeah. That's a hotel. We got to wear a white lotus vibe going on here. That's cool. Yeah. Maybe there'll be a murder. Yeah, your shops there. Your shops look a little bit better.

That was one of my disappointments as I talked about in Scarlet Violet. My shops are just like kiosk everywhere that look exactly the same. I hate that shit. I loved it, dude. Having a Pokemon, TM machine and Pococenter

all in one little spot. But I think something like ZA does it better where it's like, hey, here's a shop that like is like in universe feels like, oh, I mean, I think this is an in universe shop that I enjoy.

Whereas I thought just having a kiosk in the middle of fucking nowhere was weird. Yeah, yeah, a lot of weird choices. A lot of weird choices. I want to get this super chat in. Silver J. Hawkins super chat and says fun theory that will likely not be true would be that this new region

is the same region we saw slash visited in new Pokemon snap. Oh, dude, that's actually, that's a really good call. That's from Tim. Yeah, that's from me. That could make sense. I mean, it's, it is a beachy, like, resorti area, but there is something about the color palette that is very similar. I like that. Good.

Spall, Super Chat and says, Tim, are you excited for the inevitable Palm Bond plushy you're going to give to your baby? Yes. Good. This is a game changer. I can't wait to go home and tell G. Oh, she's gonna read. It's very exciting. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Koso Bro says we don't need voice acting. The kids need to learn how to read. It's not about that. It's really not about that. Yeah, er, uh, uh, uh, yeah. I want to give you an overall thought here. Cberry 328 Superchats and says that was a 7.5 out of 10. I wasn't jumping out of my seat in excitement,

but also wasn't too disappointed by anything. But for the 30th anniversary, it was 95% video games. No mention of amusement parks, anime, movies or concerts. Yeah, I was like selfishly really hoping for an orchestra anniversary concert because I missed out on Symphonic Evolutions when they did it, I think, for the 20th anniversary

because I was a broke boy, but I'm still hopeful that they'll pull something together at some point. Okay, fair enough. Colton Miller's super chast and says, as a bird owner, I could cry. Oh, I'm sorry, as a bird owner, a bird starter, I could cry. We understood where you're going away.

And there was a lot of wingles in the... Well, they're going to be there. If you got an island vibe, they got to be there. You know, if he turns into James Bond, like, I wouldn't have expected that. and that shit was sick. We don't know where this is exactly. Is it the Maldives? I mean, that's what it looked like, but I mean. Yeah. So I don't know what they're going to kind of try to go for. Because it's like, yeah, like Lytton turned into Incineror and Hawaii

because they have like a lot of like pro wrestling culture stuff there. Yeah. And like the Smohen legacy and all that. And he turned into the wrestler. So it's like they try to theme the final evolutions around the region. So if we go back to see that swinging Pikachu company, a couple. Yeah.

We can infer there that they're going to turn into swingers. They're going to turn into island swingers. Yes. I mean, definitely. God,

look at the vibe. These guys just know what's up. Fucking tourists. Yeah. I love that he's, they get there. The first thing they do,

pineapple upside down on their door. They know what they're doing out there. Did you know the Pikachu male and female has a lightening bolt tail and a female

has a heart tail. Don't try it. I read my books. I read my books. I read my books. Yes, yeah. I know what's out of there. I'm in the sacred texts.

But like real time, this Pikachu more than you normally want to touch a Pekish? Listen, I was originally going to stone face and I'll tell you right now, you couldn't pay me to touch either of these Pekachoo's. But the Pikachu, the Pikachu that came and interrupted us while we were looking through the book, that one I wanted to pet. Yeah, can you go back a little bit? At the beginning of the trailer, that one I wanted to pet. These two scuzz bags. Herpes. Exactly.

100%. I don't want to say it, but I'll say it. Come covered. All right, and I'm not going to touch them. Wow. Wow. Wow. They're swingers. aren't washing properly. I wish I could see the chats. But it's like, we need to act like we've been here before. Like, look at Nintendo. the past 10 years of how they announce things and how they release things. We don't know about the games until they're ready to be released. But we haven't had a direct yet this year.

There's a wrestler among them. Where would I go to see that? Is that the Pokemon website? I've got my IGN articles open. I'm looking at that. I have this VGC opens up there. Google itself right now has a little Pokemon thing going, Tim.

Also, do we think there'll be any new battle gimmick? I'm hoping there's no new battle gimmick, but we can use all the past ones. Oh, my God, the dream. Yeah, that's what's interesting about this, right? It's like every generation has, not every, but like the most recent generations, starting with Gen 6 have had some level. Actually, I guess the other ones did too, that we just didn't think of them that way because they had like the rotation battle, like the trio thing.

Sure. And even like dual battles introduced in Gen 3, which have kind of become the standard for the competitive gameplay. Um, so I, I think that with the big focus on mega evolutions and ZA, I don't think mega evolutions are going to be in this game, um, because they're going so hard right now on all that for ZA specifically, the DLC and all that. Um, I do think they'll have some type of new gimmick. I hated, uh, terrestrializing in Scarlet and Violet. Like that stuff, it, I never wrap my head around it.

It definitely was not necessary for playing that game. Competitively, I'm sure it had some, uh, benefits and like, that's a level that I just, is way, way above my pay grade. Yeah, yeah. But even then, it's like, it's not cool. They looked stupid. It took way too long. Like, do you agree with me?

Like the, oh, yeah, so I'm just freaking like gems. Yeah, no. I hate this stuff. I much prefer to changing the types. Yeah, mega is dope and it being temporary. Like, I, mega's my favorite for sure.

So I, I feel like they're going to add something just because they feel like they have to. But yeah, I think it'd be the best call to not do that, especially with champions, um, coming out.

And they have the champions is going to have multiple gimmicks. So are they going to add more gimmicks maybe? I'm not sure. But prepare yourselves. They're going to add some weird shit. I am still looking for this wrestler NPC. People are saying, I saw somebody say,

One of the things leaked was your trainer underwater in like a scuba suit. Yeah. So you imagine that's accurate. Yeah, the underwater, definitely.

The flying stuff I also would bet on, specifically because the last couple games have, like, really started to, at the least flirt with, but at most, like, fully go into you flying around. Like, even on a, like, the Let's Go Pikachu 2 and Evie, like, you could fly in the Pokemon and actually fly over the overworld. Like, you're on the charge of flying over the map, which was super sick. Like, you're controlling it. And then in the DLC for Scarlet and Twilight,

it, you eventually get your Maridon and Corridon to fly, right? And so you're like flying all around. I remember gliding a lot. I forget about flying. In the DLC, you actually, you're not fly. I can't remember. I remember the core game you had glide, but you're like flying everywhere. So I feel like that's kind of like a, that was them, you know, testing it out a bit.

Because we saw that too with the Gen 8 DLC. They introduced some elements that we then later saw in the actual core games. Okay. I wanted to take you to this one. Res says in a super chat, of course, Gen 10 has to be in the Indonesian islands. You have tourist huts like in Bali, magma chambers like volcanoes,

in dino feel like kimono dragons. Yeah, that's sick as hell. Yeah. When we're on this, when we're on this wave of like, hey, maybe it's dinosaurs. Frolicious said, with the field museum having a Pokemon fossil exhibit in Chicago,

but I'll try. I'll try. Don't worry about it. Steve Jr. says, doesn't look like it, but I want so badly for Pokemon, Gen 10 to keep the catch mechanic from Legends games. In my opinion, it feels better with the open-slash-overworld Pokemon.

You know, I would actually kind of bet that they're going to. Really? Yeah, because I again... Explain the difference for somebody who doesn't know. Well, I mean, it's the difference between like actually having to go into a battle and go through the menus and the Pokemon or just actively throwing the ball on the in the gameplay, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

And like, in Scarlet and Violet, you could kind of do that. Like, with the auto battle, like, you send your Pokemon out to, like, fight and kill. Yeah. You know what I mean? So that was, I think, a step towards being able to catch that way as well. And I think that the Legends games and the like the core generation games are kind of like learning from each other a bit. Yeah.

And as we see like how different ZA was even from Arceas. Like I, I think that the DNA is going to start to blend even more. So yeah, I think that there might be some pretty, pretty dramatic for Pokemon standards, uh, changes to have actual core gameplays. In the same way that Scarlet and Violet compared to Sword and Shield, like, was very different. Yeah. But just running around. Like, the battle's the same and all that.

But, like, just the way you're able to interact with the open world. Because it was the first time it was true open world. So, Jordan Shield only had the wild areas. So this is now their, this will be their third full open world to some extent. Hell yeah. For fourth, even. Tim, would you like to move on to the rest of the announcements? Yeah.

So I'm a little letdown by this just because I'm like, I like, what is it though? Fair. From there, we rolled into Pokemon Go celebrating 10 years.

sure you know and I want to do that starting with like the ones I a lot and then trying to make a, it doesn't need to be the most competitive. I'm not trying to just Google, what are the best Pokemon? And then I'm up with the team, right? It's more like, I want to create a team that I like. I want visuals to match. So I'll have to choose shiny versions or not shiny versions of each one.

I'm like, I was a part of that. And then otherwise it kind of just turned it to, I play the games when they come out or whatever. But then it was Gen 9, Scarlet and Violet in 2022 that really, or end of 2021, whatever it was, I got so in, like more into Pokemon since I've been since I was eight years old, right? Like, so, so, so in and getting back into Pokemon Go to this day, I'm kind of there. getting the entire polka decks in Scarlet and Violet, like going way too hard,

the entire polkax in Let's Go Pikachu and Evie. I was just going back and doing all that stuff. And by the time we got to Legends Z.A., like I beat it. I really enjoyed the game. I like it a lot. I didn't complete the polka decks. And it's like I'm just kind of like slowing down a bit there. And maybe that's just because of what this game is too.

But I'm a little bummed by that because I do have the dream of completing the national decks at some point. Wow. But maybe you and baby Sammy could do it. I mean, when she's not a baby. Yeah. Right Hold Aldo is back and says, ah, I can't type today.

Mainline games aren't in competition at Pokemon World Championships this year, which is what I thought I presented as the problem, and Tim still doesn't understand you. So I feel like this trailer just wasn't for us. This was the trailer for the casual Pokemon person of like, come live on an island with your Pokemon. And I think it's way more exciting to, talk about the builds, talk about, I didn't even know, Mike was shown me yesterday, TikToks of,

hey, guess what? You can have cloud servers in worlds here where you share with other people and the host doesn't need to be online and you all build. I'm like, that's, I didn't even know that. That's fucking incredible. So I thought this is an interesting take on it that I just, I was shocked. I knew you weren't here yesterday. We did, uh, uh, the March games. Oh, I watched this. Yeah. Yeah. I was blown away that the entire panel was like, no, no, I'm excited. Yeah. I was like, really? I didn't know. None of you have said anything about. Me and Joey thought we were all alone. Vibe-wise of just kind of what I've seen on the internet and everything I've heard about this game.

Yeah. This is about to take shit over, dude. Like, I really think that... Lesson came so hot off that New York preview. Yeah, exactly. Like, the previews are very glowing and just what this is, what we know of how much people love Pokemon, but then also love Dragon Quest Builders for the people that played that. It's like, yeah, this...

I expect this to really hit, and I think it's going to sell very, very, very well. and it being switched to exclusive too. Like I can see this being the type of game, not a system seller in like a crazy way, but I think it could be. I do think that this can get some people in. And I think that the tone of this trailer was very off-putting to us, but it clearly is for kids, right?

Like this trailer is trying to speak to a different audience, which just I don't think works in a Pokemon presents, but I think it does just work as like, oh yeah, like being a parent watching this and like, you dumbass goofy kid being like, look at the greeting. you know. Yeah, and doing the hide and seek thing and everything else. Again, I think

if reviews are as hot as these previews, it'll speak loudly to the gamer. You don't need to worry about that and you are trying to get out there to mom and dad. And again, the Pokemon fan who played a lot of Animal Crossing during COVID and didn't come back to it, right? I think this is a Yeah, totally. Very interesting thing we're about to get here.

I'm stoked to see what happens. We also met DJ Rotor. Neat. You put T. I mean, I do like that. It's like a bunch of classic Pokemon music. Like that's, that is cool. I just want to call out because there's so much going on with Pocopia that I don't think they talk about necessarily or not. The L Islander says, just sucks that it's way easier to buy Minecraft four times for my family than Pokemon Pocopia at $70 or whatever.

I think what they've talked about before with Pocopian, again, Mike sent me a TikTok last night, is the idea that it's game share. So it can be that you have it on your Switch 2 and share to your kids, your two kids switch ones, your wife switched to and you're all played together from what I understand based on that TikTok I saw last night.

So they're trying to get around that. I know that doesn't help if it's well I guess you can game share sometimes over the internet. I'm not sure if that counts. I'm talking out my ass on that part. But there's a lot going on with Polkopia that we really need to get into the weeds about but we won't until reviews and or it's out in a while.

C. Doi in the chat says I'm hoping that it doesn't have voice acting. I don't understand that. Like I understand the fear that the voice acting might be bad. I think bad voice acting is I'd like that. Like it'd be okay. The thing is, I'm not saying that we need

every single line in this game to be voiced out. It's a presentation specifically of the battles. Watch a battle in ZA, Scarlet Violet, or specifically Sword and Shield.

So there was the Super Bowl commercial. Yeah, no, I remember the Super Bowl commercial. I remember. She's the one I don't know. I knew all the other people. Yeah. Who is this woman? No.

She has good taste, though. Luxury, definitely a fan fave. One of my favorite things that I saw recently is like somebody did a stat breakdown of the most overused teams in Pokemon. Yeah. And it's because the games that kind of guide you, right? And it's like you have your starter. And then you get one of the, the, you can't even catch my fuck up on camera.

Don't worry about it. You know, you go through, you need a flying Pokemon. You need a, like, you get the one that they give you, like a lapris or you catch the Snorlax or whatever. So everyone ends with like a very similar team at the end of the game, like for the most part. And so like Luxray, I forget what Jen that was, Gen 4, I think. Yeah. It's like one of the most common ones.

Anyways, I'm now realizing they did hit me up and they gave me a list of Pokemon that were all the ones from the Super Bowl commercial. They asked me which one of my favorite was. And I said, Evie. So that's why I had this Evie here. and it's the most basic bitch thing ever because Evie's like, they're like retroactively made her

like one of the faces. Yeah. Can I ask the question? Pull the thing over. Yeah. I was listening to is, have you been around since the first game? Yeah.

Okay. Yeah. Thank you. And, but it was not that big of a deal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're trying to,

afterwards they try to figure another picture. But I love Evie. I love Evie so much. And she's one of the most popular and she's definitely probably like one of the most people's favorite Pokemon. Yeah. But man,

doesn't stop me from me. and I'm a girl. Tim, I'm sorry, Ben pops for Evie all the time. I love, sir. I don't get a new Evolution. It's been too long. Winds and waves. Tim, that was an amazing box.

can we get a quick reaction by Tim before he leaves for the God of War first look at the end of the show. While we've been live, Amazon has put out the first shot from the show of Cratos and Atraeus. Atreus, I don't know I said it like that. You ready? Yeah. There it is. First look at the God of War series coming to Prime Video.

It is not a positive reaction from Tim. It would appear. The first chat that I see there on YouTube says, on Twitter. This looks like a low budget fan film on YouTube, not a flagship prime series. If this is the official first look at Cratos and Atreus, they need to delay the show and completely overhaul the costume design. I don't like it. Can you put your finger on why you don't like it?

If you're an audio listener, as I know there are some people, let me read from Paul Tassie over at Forbes. While we've been burning through the cast announcer for God of Orr's Amazon series, I did not realize we would be getting a look at the series in action so quickly. Now Amazon Prime Video has just released the first look at Ryan Hurst as Cratos and Callum Vincent as Atreus. It looks dot, dot, dot, strange. The costume he seems fine and very one-to-one with the game. Hearst is almost unrecognizable as Cratos,

which was sort of a necessary development. But I'm not sure if the way this shot is rendered or lit or framed, but it does not look good. It looks like cosplay or some sort of fan film. Yeah, that's the thing is I, maybe this is the hopium in me, but I feel like this is a behind-the-scenes shot. This isn't like in show,

and I imagine in show it will look good and solve a lot of the problems I have because a lot of it is just kind of the presentation of this image. But yeah, it's, I don't know. Something about Cratos, not loving. It looks like cosplay. My thing about it is, as somebody who knows Ryan Hurst from acting and from Sons of Anarchy when he was Opie, like he is not lost to the character of Cratos to me.

I look at that, I'm like, oh, that's that guy from Sons of Anarchy dresses Cratos. And that's the problem, is that it's like, I don't see Cratos there. I see the guy from Sons of Anarchy dressed. is Kratos. I don't know the guy. Yeah. I don't see Kratos here, though. Like, I don't see Kratos. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It is Kratos, but that's not Kratos.

Yeah. We will, and then the Eritz over here, I mean, no insults to the kid, but he does. He's the part that looks the most like cosplay to me. Like a father and son cosplay out there. Like we wanted to do with me and Andy. Remember that? We want to do that with me. I don't remember that. Andy, I'm still available if you want to get out, you get doing it.
