What's up, everybody, and welcome back to another kind of funny live reaction.
This time to the Resident Evil Showcase for January 15th, 2026.
The first live reaction to 2026, I'm pretty excited about this.
Don't expect any major announcements of like a Code Veronica remake or anything like that.
They made it pretty clear.
They're focusing on Resident Evil Requiem that comes out.
Next month could not be more excited.
I have incredibly high hopes for this.
I was supposed to be joined today by blessing Eddie Oe, Jr.,
but he's not feeling so well.
Feeling a little under the weather.
Maybe he should have used an umbrella.
You know what I'm talking about?
That doesn't actually work, but you get what I'm saying.
Barrett's running the show, of course.
But it's just going to be me on the set today,
hanging out with all of you for this pretty short little Resident Evil thing.
12 minutes is what they're saying.
So I'm excited for that.
We'll see what they have.
We know Leon's here, right?
That was the big reveal during the game awards.
But there's been rumors of a third character.
Are we going to see Ada Wong?
The bigger question I have, the thing that I'm kind of feeling good about,
and I felt good about it at Game Awards and didn't happen.
So now I feel even better about it now.
Are we getting a demo today?
Are they going to drop the demo like today?
I think they might.
I think they might.
I predict demo where you get to play as the third character.
Ethan Winters.
No.
Do not invoke that name.
Do not invoke that name.
No, but Capcom has been pretty consistent in putting out their playable teasers, if you will.
The demos of their different games dating back to Resident Evil 7 when they put out the kitchen
demos, what they called it.
And then they eventually really, we got to play like behind closed doors at E3 before it was
even officially a Resident Evil game.
And then they put that out eventually for everyone else.
Village had a demo.
So now that we've played this Resident Evil Requiem demo,
a couple times at different events,
I only got to play it once so far,
but I mean different members of the team
have at different events played through the same demo.
I think it's time to put that out for everyone else.
And let me tell you, it's damn good.
You've heard us kind of glow about the game already,
but the demo's really, really good
and is the reason that I am so excited
and so high on Resident Evil Requiem.
coming out next month.
I hope I get to play it.
I got a baby on the way.
You know what I mean?
Any moment.
I might get the call.
I might have to leave.
Can you imagine it?
In the middle of this?
In the middle of this.
I get the call.
I got to go.
No one on stage.
Gotta love it.
We are one minute away.
Thank you all for joining us today
for this showcase.
I wonder
if they're going to have Maggie Robertson host it.
I've been liking them leaning on her
a lot as kind of there
the face of the franchise
after her amazing performance as
Lady Demetrisk in Resident Evil Village a couple years ago.
Derek Schwartz says,
I see that Tim's joined by all his friends.
Damn, damn.
Got you.
Damn, dude.
But yeah, very stoked on this.
Yeah, I don't know that there's anything that they can, like,
disappoint me with here.
And I also just be with,
what this franchise is.
I don't know that they can show too much.
Like,
it's,
I'm just,
I'm here for a good time.
Um,
so we'll see,
we'll see how it,
uh,
shakes out here as we're getting ready for it.
It would be nice to see Ada though,
because I feel like
Leon and Ada are,
are intrinsically tied.
All right, here we go.
Oh, it's a YouTube premiere.
So we're getting the fun little YouTube premiere thing.
How long are they making us?
do this countdown for though.
It's hard to tell,
because some themes don't even show you
like what they,
what they choose.
What's going on?
Yeah.
Shadow Trixner says,
would it be disappointed
if the game's $80.
Yeah,
that would be,
but present evil nine,
I can understand a bit more
than Mario Kart world,
but not that I want that.
And also not that I expect that.
Com's been pretty good about
that type of bullshit recently.
Barnell says if the game looks like
R.E.6 would be the only way I'm disappointed.
That's the thing
I've played this game, so I know what they're going for.
And granted, the Leon stuff, gameplay we haven't seen,
and maybe that is super, super actiony.
I'm not mad at that, though.
I feel like there's a balance to be had that they've learned a bit of.
I just love my boy, Leon.
What if it's just this forever?
Forever, yeah, we're already in the Resident Evil.
Nanopazow says Resident Evil is pretty actiony.
Yeah, it is.
I feel like just being actiony wasn't.
the problem with Resident Evil 6.
It was just over the top in ways that weren't fun and didn't feel like they fit the identity of the franchise.
And even RE5 went way too far.
You know what?
I'd be super stoked to see.
Jill Valentine.
I love Jill.
And I feel like her story got just off the rails bonkers, which, hey, I'm not mad at it.
It's Resident Evil.
But it'd be cool to see her, her and Leon together.
Can I get a little louder out here for me?
Thank you.
In this showcase, we'll go over the latest information on Resident Evil Requiem,
which will release next month on February 27.
Let's take a look at some of the gameplay.
Bill.
Yeah, I'm not.
I'm not saying, I said not.
Actually, I talked about that time,
I talked about,
we've, we've,
I've, Batch-Bhorror of Stage-Hawr stage
test to see,
but, you know,
I don't want to want to be
that's a lot of
that's the truth of
it's just to
have been
this case.
This is
Grace and Leon
and they're
going to
it's right.
Grace's
the R.E2
or Bio7
are so
it's a horror
to block
to
game
and it's
the one
for you
need to
allow for
being
very high
kind of
very
very
very
so much
I'm telling
y'all this is
about to be
the best
resume
Nice.
This is the demo-harmes-allel horror.
Leon's new one of the
horror and the Leon's action.
Two-two-nobet-as-all-all-by-hazard
not,
this is the demo.
This is the demo.
Bio-Hadardt,
the tension and the
that's one of the most of the
one of the most of the
tension and release, baby.
...
...the small pace to
grace's gameplay,
to,
and then,
and then you're
a dynamic, a high-direction,
so,
that's a big of me
that's,
the tension,
to each other,
and so cool.
...
part of the
kind of
so you're
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Yeah,
uh,
story to grace,
two are the
story to
basically,
one,
story of the
player,
character,
are Grace
and there are
there and
also,
and then,
reon can
play's
part of,
so,
so you
It's a high-co-seeing
and then-o-six-on-the-the-lawful
Leon's,
but Leon,
uh,
recuem of the
time,
as a DSO-an-a-
agent to
the world
and the
he's going to
he's
he's got
that.
He's
probably
that's
too
that's
too much
see-and-
this
zombie is,
there's
some of the
This yagatat in the house in the house of
people who are in the same guy who are
like, just like, just like,
just like,
there's something deeply fucked up about this.
There's something deeply
to sort of zombie and in the game
in the game of their
conducts and
well,
to use to,
to use to,
this kind of can't do you
Oh, yeah.
I think I want a second opinion.
Oh my Godplay is a
outtow-token-gain-up-en-res-can-ass-sign-ass-sign-sav-a-sion
Oh my god.
Tomahawk,
Tomahawk, and it's over,
it can't do you.
Oh, there we go for Andy.
Dude!
Shuting the hatchet
at sick.
...and-sign-sare-and-same
that's set.
And,
other,
V-o-n-n-the-te-te-ty-tie-tie-tie-tuit-tie-tuit-tall.
kill.
Then, then,
then,
then the other
the weapon,
and then
what's
what
what you're
how to
how to
how to
that's
and that
and that
it's
that
gameplay.
So that game
play in
the game
is insane.
The violence is insane.
The
t'nack,
and
and the enemy,
and that's all,
or so,
or so,
think,
that's
more,
but I'm
whether
or not
that's
very important,
they're all just
so good.
So,
that's
that
about
that's going to
not going to
make it's
a little
like, a
requiem to the
title,
that's,
cool.
This big-gawks,
the amount of not-not-not-not-called
to give us,
it's a tower in a book
It's.
Holy shit!
Actually, uh,
crafty-oose,
little bit of hilly
and poor to make
conscious-z-zombi-notes-z-z-oomby
need to be used
to the craft-resource
to the,
that's-mary,
to-tack-to-to-it-it-a-stire
to more artist-style game
to further than a clue
to a couple of ways.
Effective.
A variety of gameplay options have also been added to this title.
Players can switch between two camera perspectives, and these can be changed at any time during
the game.
Multiple difficulties are also available.
New players can enjoy casual mode, and use aim assist to take down zombies with more ease.
But if you choose standard, classic, ink ribbons will be needed to save the game when playing
as grace. This mode is recommended for those who enjoy a tense atmosphere.
This...
...ponka, uh, Porcester's son to collaboration
to...
...what?
...what?
...what?
...fuck yeah.
We got Intergalactic and Resident Evil,
partner with Porsche.
Resident Evil and Porsche are two very iconic brands with so much heritage.
It's one of those generations you're always dreaming of as a gaming fan working in this environment.
Is that true?
like this obviously don't spawn out of nowhere.
For his adventures, Leon needed a car which represents his style,
but also delivers when it comes to navigating him through,
yeah, all of those dangerous moments he experiences in the game.
What I really admire about the custom resin-evil carient turbo GT is
how the team stayed true to its characteristics
by still ensuring it feels authentic in this world.
It took a lot of expertise from different departments at Porsche
and complex 3D printing to apply those customizations to the real car.
It's going to look amazing in the game.
bringing it all back to him.
Yeah.
That's what I think of.
That's it.
About Resident Evil.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, it needs a nice watch.
The world of each other's
image of which
to make a token of
two fantastic
watch models
which will create
those worn in the game
in all the standing
details.
The Kakifield Auto Chrono
and the Pan Europe
automatic will be
in limited edition
2,000 pieces each
and will
release alongside Resident Evil Reclaim on February the 27th.
Please stay tuned.
In addition to the base game, a deluxe edition featuring bonus content will also be available
for purchase. Files!
Extra costumes for Grace and Leon, weapon skins, and screen filters will be included in this edition.
Those who pre-order will receive an Apocalypse costume
for Grace, along with the platform shown, the game will also be available on the cloud gaming service, G-Force Now.
Hell yes!
This title is being developed in collaboration with NVIDIA so a wide range of PC users can enjoy it.
It's such an honor to work on Resident Evil. The iconic series has been thrilling fans around
the world for close to 30 years and has continued to raise the bar for innovation and technology
with every single release.
We've been working closely with Capcom on Resident Evil Requiem,
helping shape the future of the franchise
with path tracing for realistic graphics
and AI-powered Nvidia DLSS4
with multi-frame generation for incredibly fast performance.
DLSS also makes Resident Evil Requiem more accessible
across a wide range of PCs,
extending a nightmare
to more gamers.
And what a great way to play.
Gamers can experience
Resident Evil Requiem at launch
with the cutting-edge graphics
and performance on nearly
any device streaming
from powerful G-Force R-TX
servers in the cloud.
I'm telling you that's going to be a great way to play it.
Mysteries of Raccoon City once again.
Not only that,
one-sixth scale figures of our two
protagonists will also be available
for purchase. Grace and
Leon's figures can be displayed separately or together as a set.
And if you line them up with previous figures,
both figures are scheduled for release this fall.
An original design Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
will be released on the same day as the game.
I don't understand the design behind controllers like these.
As a series first, Amibo will also be available.
Hell yeah.
Tim, it looks like a newspaper, and then they put it on the computer.
Who would want that?
The gold editions of both Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, including all downloadable content, will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2.
We'll also be celebrating 30 years of the series with special concerts.
Sick.
Relive the series' greatest moments with breathtaking orchestral performances.
The first ticket lottery is open right now to Resident Evil ambassadors.
Concerts are planned for not just Japan, but North America and Europe.
More information on these will be released later.
Excellent question. What is Elphus?
This, I don't really like to know.
I don't really like to know.
I don't really like to know.
Grace's of the mother, Alistair,
who are caught.
It's very important thing.
This, um, this, um,
know, that's, um,
that's, um,
know, that's,
the,
that's, um,
and let us go to let me want to get it.
There are really really can't really
and to make sure to look at all of the
keep on the future to take you
kidnap you
I liberated you
I think I want a second opinion
what's happening here
the friends busy
what the fuck
what the fuck is right
oh shit okay that was it
I would assume so
yeah wow
definitely thought that was going to be like, play the demo now.
Interesting.
Interesting.
I want to talk all about that after a quick word from our sponsors.

The Resident Evil Requiem.
No demo.
Definitely.
surprised at that, a little bummed about that.
I feel like they should be getting that out there
because it's so good. And I know this looked good, but like that, just let people play.
Let them know what they have to look forward to next month.
But overall, I can't wait for this game.
Obviously, the showcase we just saw, it was what it was, right?
It was just selling all the different things that they're doing with Resident Evil Requiem,
which, who's buying that Porsche?
I wish it was me, but it's not.
I love Porsche just one day.
My dream car got a Porsche.
I'm very far from that.
At some point in my life, I would like that.
I don't know that I need this Resident Evil edition.
You know, I actually know I don't.
It being in the game, very interesting.
At least it will be pretty.
But the idea of what cars Leon going to drive?
I wouldn't jump to Porsche.
Wouldn't ever jump to Porsche.
But in the watches and the Amebo and all that stuff.
I'm not interested in any of that stuff.
I don't think I will be purchasing any of it,
but I will be getting this game.
And every single thing that they said in this,
every single thing has only reminded me that I do believe this is going to be the best Resident Evil game ever.
I love every reference that they're making and everything that they're saying in terms of like what the feel and style this game is going to be.
Like if you notice, the only games that they mentioned from the past here were Resident Evil 2, 4, and 7.
2 4 and 7 are kind of the favorites.
Like I personally think I would I like Village more than 7.
but in terms of if I were to take the pieces that I like
and don't like of all the different games,
like I love one's setting with Spencer Mansion
and like the cast of characters that it has,
but in terms of like actual quality of game beginning to end,
24 and 7 are kind of hard to beat there.
And especially when you're talking about the different styles,
I think that the first person incredibly scary gameplay and style
of 7 Biohazard is,
what I felt a kind of next generation version of when I played the demo of nine
for a lot of the grace sections and everything we're seeing here with Leon they were saying
this but we can see it ourselves this does feel like let's take Resident Evil 4 and up the
ante as much as possible right like Resident Evil 4 came out in 2004 I think it was and even getting
the remake that modernized a lot of things but I've always said that the RE4 remake was the remake
I felt like we needed the least because
RE2, RE3, like there's a lot you can do to modernize those.
And I think that those remakes were incredible.
But remake for four was taking one of the best games ever
and just making sure it looked a little bit prettier
and like played a little bit stronger in terms of like gameplay,
like controller feel and all of that.
But looking at this, it seems like a step above.
And it seems like it's not focusing on the wrong parts of the action,
which I was talking about with Resident Evil 6,
where that was over the top in a goofy way
where the spin kicks and stuff
were just just egregious.
Here, there's still that tension of the action.
He's still spin kicking,
he still has his one-liners,
but that's Leon.
That's a good thing.
And I'm getting four vibes from this,
and getting four vibes is very cool.
Bartels's RE4 remake is perfect, Tim.
I'm not talking shit about Resident Evil 4.
I'm just saying it's like,
Resident Evil 2 remake compared to Resident Evil 2
is like a gigantic step forward,
whereas like Resident Evil 4 remake, it's like it was already so, so, so good and I think still so playable.
And I think that the improvements that they made, I mean, let me put it this way.
Going forward, whenever I replay Resident Evil 4 again in my life, which I will continue to do,
I don't know that I'm ever not going to play the remake.
The remake's fantastic.
But yeah, this is speaking to me.
And the idea of the two styles, one a little bit spookier, one a little bit more action,
still focusing on the tension in both
and the fact that you can switch between
third person and first person from the jump.
Like, I feel like they've just learned so much
from the last couple remakes
and the last couple numbered installments in the franchise
that they're just at a very advantageous place.
And going back to Raccoon City,
a lot of the locations we're seeing here,
it's clearly not Spencer Mansion from one
because that thing was exploded.
but the mansion that you're in here,
it's like it's the right tone and vibes.
And then leveling up the zombies or the undead,
whatever you want to call them to have the personalities still a little bit
of what they were like as humans,
there's something so unnerving about that.
And the way that we see it here,
I think is going to end up presenting very well in gameplay scenarios.
Even in the demo I played that we didn't get much of that,
but the big scary lady monster that's like coming after you,
like the use of turning light switches on and off was so terrifying and uh it really kind of like
added that survival horror element like the horror elements back into resonable in a way that
i forget the name of it the neto something like that the dollhouse in village like how scary
that was compared to the rest of the game um whereas like the the opening kind of uh mansion area
with Lady Demetriuskin, the daughters,
like that felt like a modern reimagining
of the kind of Mr. X or tyrant stuff
from two where there's always the big thing
chasing you down in these like really confined places.
Like again, it's just all the things I like most about Resident Evil
are here except for Jill.
We didn't see Ada.
That's another thing.
But like, again, we don't need to.
I have a feeling she's here and that's good.
And then, yeah, the car thing,
I wonder if we're going to actually, like, if there's going to be any, like, driving sections in the game.
I kind of hope not, but I also don't think they'd be that bad if they were in it.
I'm also so surprised that this game is coming on every single platform day one.
Then adding G4S now is so awesome.
That means that if you don't have a high-end PC, but you want to play this game,
you could just buy the game and then use G-Force now and play it on your low-powered PC or so many other options.
like that's so cool but nintendo switch two it's on the switch two day one man that's i really hope that
it runs we'll see like i hope it runs well but um from everything that we've seen from this so far i've
been very impressed with the performance of it all and yeah on the higher end which is how i'll be playing
i can't wait to see all these rays be traced there's nothing scarier than the wetness of resident
evil too like it just added so much to that atmosphere and we're seeing so much of that here and
the level of violence the level of exploding heads and blood
and all that stuff throughout this.
They kept coming up with crazy creative ways
to keep making me go, ugh.
And I have a feeling we ain't seen nothing yet.
So, yeah, a lot of stuff here.
What else?
I have some notes.
Oh, the hatchet.
Yeah, giving Leon that melee weapon,
I think is a really smart call
and adding in the sharpening it.
Like, that's badass as hell.
And again, adding kind of to the tension,
adding to that survival horror.
So if they're going to add the action,
they still need to kind of then create
a space to have things that you have to do before you can just kind of like attack people over and
over and over and just like run through them. Yeah, the concert being announced, that's kind of cool.
Resident Evil music doesn't necessarily stand out to me overall as like the most memorable thing.
Of course, there's like the save room music. And there's usually like the vocal themes and stuff.
There's a couple things. But this might be a gaming concert that I pass on. But this won't be the
first concert, you take your daughter to? No, probably not, probably not, but you never know.
We'll see. We'll see. Um, there is a Final Fantasy distant worlds coming up in March and I'm like,
is it appropriate for a two-month-old to go to the symphony? No. No, hey, you know what I mean?
She has to get cultured somehow. It's just like, hey, think about it as like they play Mozart for babies.
Yeah. Final Fantasy music. I'm going to March. Exactly. I've been saying that for years.
I've never heard the Fallen Fantasy 16 music perform live. This is going to be the first time. If I get to go,
I died. I'm going to. But,
We'll see.
And then, yeah, they did, they ended this with the big question that's been all on all of our minds.
What is Elphus?
What is Elphus?
Elphi-H-I-S.
They didn't really tell us, but they told us that we'll find out next month.
So that's cool.
Elpice.
Elpice.
Elpice.
Great.
Elpice.
I don't know, man.
What is it?
What is it?
It has to do with Grace's mom's murder.
Oh, okay.
so I'm interested in all that
yeah I really think that from the little I played of this
plus everything that they're saying here
if the story of this game is good
and if it doesn't get two bonkers by the end
and I give it room to get bonkers
because all Resident Evil games do at a certain point
Resident Evil one with the rocket launcher
Resident Evil two is the final end
when you have when you beat both Claire
and Leon's stories on the train
with all that stuff like shit gets insane but like village took it way too far for me um and even
seven but yeah the end of village is my least favorite part of village um so i hope that they don't do
that here but man this looks good it looks really good and we're gonna play it next month
i won't be here to review it i'm sad about that i'm here alone right now and soon i won't be here
at all.
I really wish I had a live way to like make you disappear from the set.
I don't get here with that.
Thank you all for hanging out with us today.
This was a lot of fun.
Until next time,
stay alive.
