Yo, what's up? Welcome to Gamescast Plays for Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026.
I'm on your host, Blessing, Adi L.A. Jr., alongside the founder and CEO, Grasshopper Manufacture, Suited 51.
Hello.
And also joining us is the community manager.
and interpreter for Suda 51, James Mountain.
How's it going?
Welcome back, welcome back.
Just some dude.
And we also got Greg.
Hey, everybody, I'm here to play.
I'm just going to play.
Yeah, Greg is here to play.
The one and only Romeo is a dead man, of course, if you're watching.
We just did a games cast all about Romeo's a dead man,
but even more so about Suda 51 and his career.
And now we're jumping into the game.
The game is out next week, February 11th, I believe is the date.
Greg's going to hopping.
Greg, have you been, is this one?
you've been looking forward to. Where are you at with Romeo's a day?
Yeah, every time we've seen the trailers for it, I've been stoked about it.
It's gotten me more and more in, especially as I'm always like, oh, this is one, yeah, I'll chase.
This is one I want to go after.
Hi. Yeah.
Now, Suda, when we were talking earlier, you mentioned 150% more blood than any of the games we put out recently.
How would you say, how would you measure, I guess, the craziness, the wackiness, right?
Like, how out of control does this game get compared to your previous games?
Yeah,
I mean,
uh,
now
the last
the time
of the time.
Uh,
uh,
the,
uh,
the time
that's,
yeah,
I'm doing,
yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
so,
that's,
uh,
yeah,
that's,
that's,
that's,
what,
you know,
it's,
the level,
is,
that's,
that's,
um,
mech,
much,
much,
it's not,
it's,
that's,
that's,
that's,
that's,
the story,
uh,
uh,
uh,
I'm,
uh,
Mario and Peach's
and Romeo and Juliette's
exactly the same
so much
so much
this is
pretty much
this game
it's actually
probably going to be
he'll really easy
to understand
compared to all
the stuff
we're beautiful
it's pretty much
the same exact story
is a story
of like
Mario and Peach
and like
you know
Romeo and Juliet
it's just
you're you know
run of the mill
basic ass love story
really easy
to get into an
understand
every day is the same
beautiful
I'm pretty sure he's being sarcastic.
Or we have to start worrying about him.
Now we're jumping into this intro cut scene here.
I want to acknowledge and compliment the visuals.
Yeah, how did we do this here?
This visual, how did we do this here?
This is studio in the studio, actually, this is the show of this.
Kaj's the first in the studio.
This is an actual, like, diorama that we actually have in the studio.
That's cool.
big ass town of of
Deadford and
filmed it using that.
This is so cool. Of course
if you're watching live, remember you can super chat in to be a part
of the show over on YouTube.com slash
kind of funny games. If you're watching
the games that they did before this, also I love
these titles, by the way. Oh, thank you.
Yeah, it reminds me of Yorgos,
the director behind
Poor Things and his most recent
recent movie, Bougonia. There's like a similar kind of style
that I like. I watched it on playing. That was awesome. Yeah, right?
This opening was Yorgos,
the director of
something like,
I thought,
Poor Things,
the movie
or the other
like that
recently,
Magonia,
that's
Oh,
Magonia also
yeah.
Yeah,
I'm a chucked
I, right,
yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
I,
okay,
I'm really
really
really.
Oh,
really?
Yeah,
yeah.
Yeah,
the current president is
controlled by
a fifth generation
AI,
implanted by
the Space Time
King.
The space
time king,
what the
hell is that?
He has an AI chip in his brain.
All his executive orders are decided by the AI.
Wait a second.
A person?
Let's pull over.
This is car number four.
I'll go check it out.
As I was saying, if you were watching the games cast before this,
I'll be pulling Super Chats in from that episode.
We had so many come in, but I was able to get to all of them.
Look at you.
Pain the forward.
Come on.
Here we go.
Someone's asking why I'm all wet, and my hair kicked getting in my eyes.
I just couldn't be bothered.
I was wet.
Yeah.
Yeah, already we're getting a lot of blood.
Also are we here. Shout up to the Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Saw in Twining.
Already so at my alley.
Let's get weird. Let's have some AI stuff. Let's talk about the end of the world.
Let's bring us some undead zombies.
And now we've got a portal junkie motorcycle.
Seriously?
Don't worry.
I made this just in case.
The Dead Gear Life Support System.
Damn, five seconds left.
Don't move, okay?
Oh, right, yeah.
This visual.
Yeah.
You're not a person.
You got to watch this.
Yeah, how is your art team able to manage all these different styles?
You had the diorama.
You then went to like the realistic kind of visuals,
and now you're in this cartoon world.
like how much is your art team doing for all this?
Art team,
how do you know what kind of art team
do you like this?
How do you know,
like this,
this is all of all this
all right?
Maybe it was in-house
or maybe,
and then it's like that
all right,
so how did it,
how did it,
uh,
that's,
uh,
that's,
uh,
pre-endant of the
place, this is
the, uh,
Girogmy's,
the Girogmy is,
Glock,
0.0, 0,000, uh,
academy show up
that company,
and then
um,
and the time
made made made
made made
that's
yeah,
uh,
ninja badman,
yeah,
ninja badman,
that's doing
so with
so,
uh,
uh,
uh,
uh,
actually, it wasn't all just
our, uh,
internal art team,
uh,
a lot of the animations
will see what were
done by, uh, uh,
a couple of studios we collaborated with.
One of them is, they're called Shirokumi.
They worked on one of the more recent Godzilla movies.
Oh, that.
No, Niro, Niro.
Or something like that.
Another one is, uh,
Kemi,
Kami Kaze Doga.
Another one is Kami Kaze Doga,
which is another studio we've worked with,
we've worked with for a while.
They're just, they're really good at what they do.
They come up with all kinds of,
a crazy shit and yeah they handle a lot of the actual animated sequences for us
Shirogmy's man, yeah, oh yeah, uh, shirogmy, sorry, that's...
Kamikaze's kami Kami Kama Doha, the second one did he mentioned.
Yeah, they worked on the the Ninja Batman series.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, Yakuza and Ninja Batman.
That's cool.
That's cool.
This is cool.
I'm going to die, so don't worry about it.
Everybody knew that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Greg's on the controller, they knew you're supposed to die.
I wouldn't die if I'm not supposed to die.
Yeah, but video game,
not really not going to be in the game
has not just to make
make the controller to try to try and get in the game,
I'm going to get in the game.
A lot of times when you start a game,
like it takes too long for you to actually get into the game
and be able to do anything, you know?
So we tried to keep it as short and sweet as possible
so you can at least do something.
thing with the controller, quite a way for the game to actually finally start.
Oh yeah, Greg, you like these comic
con-coup panels.
Oh, yeah, this is what we saw in the trailers.
I was like, oh, wait a second, this seems like to only my stuff.
This is a lot of the
diner every night as their love grows.
Eventually, Juliet persuades him to elope with her.
This scene was in the normal
um, uh, art, uh, leader, and, uh,
other, uh, uh, the video satka is one,
this one, Araki,
this one of two are
conby-cun, and they're
making
this scene right here in particular
was done by
one of our
veteran artist
named Nomaro.
And we also have a video
director named
Araki, who
they work together
to put together this whole
sea
These are actual grasshopper group.
Cloud Cheap, who is watching
live, is asking if there's any
plans for a physical release.
I'm,
I'm going to hear about
right, right.
Physical band
does you're
okay
are.
Now
just getting
to do
work
we're doing
we're
we're
doing
we're
just a
digital
version
let's all
we'd
love to put out
a physical
edition
we're doing
what we can
to make
that happen
in the moment
but for now
everyone
please buy the
shit out of
the digital version
that would
actually help us
make a physical
So, but we're trying.
Oh, nice choice.
Yeah.
Ahum, who's watching live, wants to know, will you ever return to the somber, surreal, even spiritual tone of Moonlight syndrome or the political thriller style of Killer 7 in the future?
Oh, yeah.
Like, sort of, like, sort of, like, sort of, um,
stage-like, um,
like a lot of a little bit of a leader like that
yeah, like a style,
uh,
might have to,
uh,
yeah,
that's off-
promise, yeah,
I'll,
you'll get back to it,
yeah.
Awesome.
For sure.
Yeah,
maybe,
you know,
maybe, you know,
it's right,
x,
uh,
, uh,
,
You're comfortable with the controls and everything, like the rod next to the heavy moves and the lighter moves.
Yeah.
No, easy to pick up and play.
Easy to get your head wrapped around.
The voice that says dead when you finish that combat sequence,
is that the same voice from No More Heroes?
Is I remember hearing like a similar sort of thing?
Oh, that's going on.
Yeah, yeah.
That is normal heroes to the same voice?
Oh, is, yeah.
Yeah, the voice is different,
because of the
company's
voice,
this is the voice of somebody
one of the guys in our studio
apparently.
James,
also,
I'm at least
I myself actually have
a voice part
in the game as well.
Oh, cool.
See you guys can figure out.
You James or a Suda 51?
Oh, me, me.
Oh, that's cool, that's cool.
Was it earlier already?
Was it in the first cut scene?
Because I thought, I saw, it sounded like you.
I don't think it's come out.
It's not, it's right, right, it's right?
Yeah, it's a one.
It actually, yeah, it has come up one.
Oh, I got the ear, everybody, don't worry.
The white devil, a really disturbed guy claiming to be from the FBI Space Time police showed up.
According to this Kimberly fellow, Juliet is a space-time drifter that has popped in and out of all sorts of different eras.
Is she a singularity?
A variant?
A clone?
Or a visitor from another?
Mario's a little bit of
Mario to
just a different
is a couple of
there's no
Cooper equal
Peachieheme
like
Juliett
is both of
Juliett got
the role of
singularity
uh one difference between
this game and Mario
is
there's no
cupa and there's no Bowser
in this game
in this game
Juliet kind of does
double duty
as the princess and Bowser
in the same time.
Inventive.
It's basically the only difference
between this story and Mario and general.
Good to know, good to know.
I want to shout out this one that we got from Banderas,
N, who's watching live, who says,
Hey, Suda, No More Heroes was my first M-rated game ever,
and I was obsessed with it.
Been a fan ever since.
Still listen to Philistine from No More Heroes, too.
This is a group member from a comment on.
I, right.
The first emulating game was No More Heroes.
Oh.
Oh.
Wow, thanks so much.
This is no more.
No More 2 of Philistine
I'm really,
I'm really,
what kind of song was that?
It was kind of like
upbeat rock song, I also listened to that song a lot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a little, like,
um,
upbeat,
I think it was one of the boss songs.
I'm, um, most of the song song, yeah,
no Morrow Heroes 2 soundtrump, yeah, the No More Heroes 2 sound track, uh,
actually appears to be pretty popular, among, among fans.
We've got great taste in music.
I listened to the Zazan boys out there.
You said Zazin boys, I was, I turned out, I'm like, they're good, I like them, I like that.
It's GERNOS what's up.
We've Trevor space and dine that won some intense battles, and now,
And now we discover another new Juliet.
Oh, okay, Romeo, it's time to fight.
We have one from Sky who says,
if you could use only three words to describe Romeo is a dead man,
what would they be?
Romeo is the Dead Man?
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
What's the word?
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
He's here!
He's got it!
I mean, you think, okay, Oscar Wilde, clearly we need this, this random American dude with the manicure of adult being to get a voiceover for that, so that's why I was chosen.
Uh-huh, ultra-violence, bratti, science fiction.
Okay.
Uh, yeah, that's way more than three words, but let's say, ultra-violence is one word, bloody is one word, and then science fiction.
Yeah.
That has a dash, though.
That counts.
Yeah.
So, that's...
Yeah.
Thank you.
Uh,
AJB, in who's watching live,
says they love Grasshopper's mix of visual mediums.
They wish more studios experimented like that.
Do you find it tough to create elements and match them together?
Oh, that's right?
Do you find it tough to make elements and match them together?
Um, Grasshopper's visual style is so good.
More of different studios like this would like to do you know
I think.
How do you have to be able to make sure of
how do you make sure how much
can't be able to be able to do.
How are you doing?
Um,
this is all right,
yeah,
because of the schedule,
that or the,
you're just,
yeah,
hami-egett'n't,
so there's,
there,
I'm,
there,
probably,
I'm,
doing,
And this, this is,
this again, Thomas I, Hiros,
like, so, and,
just a different form of the other
ways of using,
we're doing it's
we're doing it,
but we're doing
it, and it's quite
smithing-n-like-pick-s
making it look like this.
We're not really starting to make it
like this.
these pretty great up, you know, full Polygon 3D game.
I'll be honest, I was reading some of the comments and wasn't paying attention to the first part,
but we've gotten similar questions, so I'm pretty sure I can nail this one.
We came to a point we realized if we did the whole game just in the same visual style,
it was actually going to go way over budget and way over schedule, and we decided, okay, we got to change some stuff around.
So we came up with the idea of making some, you know, using some of the visual style.
for different parts of the game.
Which is something we've experimented before some of our past games.
And so yeah, we mixed up a bunch of visual styles,
making things actually cheaper and take less time to make.
Wow.
R-D-R-D-N-A.
Nice.
And the reason it all comes together so well in the end, he says,
because the director's got an excellent eye.
So that's...
That's thanks to him.
Greg, how's been on the stick so far?
Feeling really, really good.
Like in the style?
Like in these attacks, love and zombies, of course.
Especially, you know, to go into that, uh, hold down R1, come in, make it all...
...at also, ah, so.
So, this, long-push, so.
Oh, you can, uh, long press the button, yeah, there you.
Okay, yeah.
Also, you know, the other, so, yeah.
This is right, L, L.
If you use one of the L buttons, you can like, hold your gun out.
Oh, L too.
Oh, okay, yeah, there you go.
Okay, yeah.
And if you want to reload on command, you'd aim and then press square.
Nice! Oh!
It's...
Mm.
So, this game, for any-court,
but, well, in-distance,
but, in-distance,
there, can't get a lot of,
So then, then the left here in the
Blattie Gage is there,
that there's got to,
that's gonna be that
gonna be able to
this,
this kind of
kind of a quick
kind of
here is,
uh,
if you use the,
uh,
oh, there you go,
if you use the gun,
uh, you know, you get lots of blood,
but if you use the, uh,
the melee weapons and the sword and get up close,
uh, you get even bloodier.
And you've got that gauge on the left side of the screen there,
called the blood gauge,
um, you actually just pull it off a second and you actually just pull it
just pulled it off a second and go but if you get that all the way filled up you can pull off what's
called Bloody Summer which is like Romeo's uh nice oh there we go come here which is that you need next
time there's an E3 you need somebody to play i'm ready to go out so you're go ahead
um also there that thing right there that little glowing thing on the ground uh you can blow those up
too yeah i got the trophy for walking through them earlier i wasn't sure if they were good or bad
Run through them.
Yeah, you can just step on them too.
That's fine.
Yeah.
Let me get my upgrade material.
That's one of the Mario things.
Yep.
Yeah.
Nice.
You see a barrel, you got it now.
There's somebody earlier in chat has gone now, but they mentioned that this game reminds them of the free-to-play skeleton man game.
That's let it die, which is a game that came out from Grasshopper as well.
Well, so.
You know, I just, I, right.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we're, like, that game in Nintendo, uh,
, that's, like, a skeleton-like-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-old-a-old-a-old-a-old
like a little-like-a-old, yeah.
Yeah, that's it-pac-pac-gave-dye-hack-a-game, and we're...
Yeah, we were, uh, we were someone involved in that one, too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, funny enough, um, I know I mentioned, I'm a big fan of No More Heroes,
but Let It Die is, like, like, right under that,
it die is like,
when I talk about my favorite grasshopper games.
I really love Blooded Die.
Um, no more hero,
but, um,
I know,
uh,
one's like that'sop bag game
of the cut through
um,
uh,
probably,
that's maybe,
maybe it's okay.
Oh,
thank you so much.
Of course,
yeah.
Oh,
Lassie?
Yeah, in my time
previewing the game,
I noticed that there's a lot of different,
like,
Lasi and different types of foods
that you're picking up
and foods from different cultures.
What inspired
bringing that stuff into the game?
This game I did it like to do that I thought of it, but I'm going to do
come from there.
There are, like, for many of the other countries, like,
and other things like that.
So, you know, that's what I've got to come from?
Yeah, I've got to get out to get it, I'm just.
So, this, this, this is the main thing.
I decided a while back that I'm going to start putting food,
like some kind of food in all my games,
And so for this one, I decided to go with Kutz Curry, which it's, yeah, you'll get into it a bit more later on.
But that's kind of the, that's the main food item in Romanos again.
There you go.
He's locked in.
Nice, nice, nice.
I'm locked in.

And we're back.
It's an amazing menu to go.
Yeah, right?
We're in an old school TV.
I love it.
Again, like I feel like every like visual style in this game, moment to moment,
feels so distinct but also so intentional.
Yeah.
that I like that's suitor.
Yeah, that's true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wow, thank you.
Yeah.
It's really
here.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I have a two-part question here.
Yeah.
What's the obsession with Juliet?
Of course, Juliet from lollipop chainsaw?
And then in your head, is Juliet from lollipop chain saw in alternate universe of this Juliet?
Because you were talking about the multiverse.
Thank you.
Oh, you mean obsession with Juliet as in...
The name?
Yeah. Yeah.
No, no, no, not it.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Um, I'll be honest.
I'm sorry.
First, um,
Joliette's the name
to,
um,
kind of,
like,
like,
got it.
Oh,
Rolipopper,
you know,
got to get back.
Yeah.
I'll be honest,
sorry,
I space,
what was the second question again?
So,
so,
obviously,
already having
Juliet starling,
right,
for the last game.
So why another
Juliet here?
Oh,
we like that name so much.
And then the second part was,
in your head is Juliet,
Julia,
Starling,
an alternate version,
multi-
is Juliet here?
And the second is,
um,
Romeo in
out of the
Um,
say,
uh,
different time line,
or a different,
uh,
Rory Pop's Juliet
like,
yeah, you know,
uh,
Uh,
well,
uh,
uh,
,
uh,
and Nick,
and Nick.
Nick, the name,
actually was,
the,
one of the
brother's,
just a d'asay
name
it's
Nick
to buy you
Nick
to buy you
need to
make you
know
to start
off
he says
for Lollipop
chainsaw
you know
as you
mentioned
the character's
name
is Juliet
and she's
got her
her
sidekick
whatever
Nick
her boyfriend
who's
mainly
just a head
on a
shout
Michael
Rosenbaum
great
great voice
out
and
actually
at first
I meant
to have the
character's
named
Juliet
and her
boyfriend would be Romeo.
And then Warner Brothers stepped in and said,
that name sucks.
Changed to Nick.
And I was like,
I think we can all agree.
Nick is a terrible name.
I've never met a Nick I enjoyed.
Yeah, Nick was,
I'm sure sure, there's a guy who's never.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, that's there.
Well, so, well, there's,
yeah, yeah, come over here.
Hey, Nick.
So, that's why this
I'm the show you know
so that's the main
didn't even at the first
didn't even
shillette's like
muck, m'c m'c'n'c
out of this
kind of character
now just an character
so anyway, I decided to
he says I decided to name the main character
or Romeo to, you know, kind of give him his props
that I got screwed out of giving him
years ago and with lollipop chainsaw
but
conversely,
Conversely, when I first started writing the game, Juliet wasn't that important or big of a character.
She was barely in it, like if at all.
And after, you know, going through and rewriting a couple of things and doing a couple more drafts,
she just sort of naturally kind of became a bigger and bigger part of the game.
And now she's, you know, clearly a pretty crucial character.
But, yeah, at first, she was barely in it at all.
Maybe I didn't mention it a couple times.
This is this.
This place is a space, the other-go-the-the-the-air-the-air-the-crow-the-crow
to the air-coup to connect with, and here in the
here, and here, and here,
then, and then, the place you're in now, this is called Sub-space.
You enter into the Nirvana TV,
and it's sort of like a corridor between different levels,
between different parts of levels.
What you have to do here is, yeah, you've got to collect the...
collect the pieces of the space time key for what's called the clista gate.
And once you get all pieces together, you can finally progress on to wherever it is you're heading towards.
We had a super chat in from Kessel Winks who says,
just jumping in from catching up on the interview.
Is there a game or moment from a game that cemented Suda 51's dislike of Perry's?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
What?
What?
What?
I like Paris
I like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm like, you know,
like,
this game
had that
because
maybe
that's
there's
that's
like that
there's,
yeah,
uh,
that's
so,
maybe,
it's
I'm,
uh,
I'm too,
little,
that's,
a little bit,
uh,
from software,
the game,
uh, you know,
Chrome's game.
And Fromm's game, it's difficult,
Pardie can't really can't.
And so, that, um, meghe's just gonna.
Okay.
So, that's just...
So, see, C-Sik.
Alright, so, um, this is secret, which is why he said it really quietly,
but, um, he, uh, he tried playing some, uh, some games by uh, From Software.
Oh, uh, uh, uh, Perry was really difficult, and, uh, I just couldn't.
didn't seem to get it right.
My man.
And it just made me feel shitty and I gave up on it.
But that's secret.
So, you know, try to keep it between us.
We'll cut that out of the final.
Right on.
Yeah.
Nice.
Okay.
He's locked in.
He's locked in.
Were there any gameplay changes in your previous games that you implemented here that you weren't able to do in previous ones?
You don't know, let's scripted the game with it.
Right.
quite a good combat
of cycle
that's done
yeah,
I'm not sure
this probably
answers your question
but, you know,
we've been doing
hack and slash action
games,
swords and stuff
for a long time.
And it was,
it had been a while
since we did anything
with guns.
And I've been wanting
to go back to
to gun action
for a while now.
And just the last
couple games,
you know,
didn't really have a place
for it.
So I was happy
to finally be able
to go back to the
the use of guns in this game, if that counts.
Oh yeah, that counts for sure.
And, I'd like craftyose to get
this, this game.
This was not really craftyote's not
not yet crafty did not yet
so,
zombie's cyber can be able to be
zombie,
and then,
they're doing,
and can be able to
and,
this kind of,
this is a good,
uh,
this system,
Bustars,
name,
Another thing is something I've been wanting to do for a while, he says, is the crafting element.
He says, I've been wanting to do a craft, some kind of crafting element in one of my games for a while, but haven't got the chance.
We finally have it here.
It's basically zombie farming.
Yeah.
The zombies that you can farm and sort of craft, they're called the bastards.
And you basically, you grow them, you harvest them.
You harvest them and you equip them as various types of skills that Romeo can use in battle.
Nice.
Love that.
Yo, this shit's awesome.
This is fucking awesome.
The motion on them too is really cool.
Whoa, wow, wow.
NWO.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Do you still watch wrestling?
Nowadays?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's like old proreses just like
old proxed by the Twitter
X day.
Recently, he says
I've just been watching
like old school matches
on like Twitter and stuff
but not like actually recent
Reclear Harley Rice
Oh yeah
Yeah
Yeah, suit it!
Okay
Oh
somebody ordered a beer for me
just now so if I can get that
anytime
Do you want an IPA or do you want something
lighter?
Uh
IPA is something lighter?
Cool Greg!
Thanks for that one, Nitrid Mustard appreciate it.
Jesus.
Well, Slyde.
Yeah, there you know.
Jesus.
What goes into designing Romeo's character?
You know, I feel like a lot of your games are known for those iconic main characters,
especially somebody like Travis Touchdown.
But when you're creating a new character like Romeo, how do you think about designing a character that's going to resonate with players?
Like this, like this, like, this kind of,
like, how you character,
how do you, how do you,
how do you do,
like,
so you're,
like,
like,
so, right, right, right,
so,
and,
like,
like,
like,
like,
every day,
like Monday.
Yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
like,
like,
yeah,
how,
yeah,
I'm,
,
Normal to, with the design with
with you know,
and take some time,
and re-take and write,
and then,
this Romio was
kind of,
really,
really,
both of the two of the
nice,
so,
one of our veteran artists,
a guy named Tadeyuki Nomaru,
he, uh,
he's really great at character design
and constant art and stuff.
And he says, basically for Romeo,
and with a lot of our characters,
I work with him when we go back in the forest,
okay, I want to him,
like this kind of element and this kind of vibe and something like this and he'll draw
something I'm feel like what do you think about that and we'll decide okay maybe let's tweak
this this way and just kind of going back and forth with the guy and yeah we thank you
Barrett oh shit yeah you asked me delivered we're not your average video game
commentary company also so he doesn't get one huh
He's upset down.
So, stick, push, and he can,
just get against the stick.
If you hold the stick down, you can run too.
Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah.
Nice, nice.
Game, um, you're good at games.
You're good at games.
Yeah, don't, you know, you all see I'm about to die somewhere here.
This, this, okay.
This is this the first time you've actually played this game?
Yeah, this is the first time?
I wanted to hold off until release.
Really?
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um-huh.
I'm trying to gameer 2015, too.
I'm a gamer 2015, dude.
I was the game rate.
I was the first,
the first one,
he died about 10 times.
I?
Yeah.
So, yeah.
Oh, Tzuza,
was.
So, so, so.
Oh.
He says, the first time I played this boss
when I was debugging the game,
I died like 10 times.
What's up with you man?
Well, you're definitely to see me die once at least.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, there we go.
Oh, thank you.
That's weird.
Oh, yes.
Cheers.
Go, go, go, run, run, run to you!
Oh, no, no, no.
You might want to use bloody summer on the dude.
Oh, I was wondering if I had to get him down first.
Oh, that's like you.
Oh, I think you get a melee.
Oh, nice, nice, nice.
He got me, oh, you got me.
Hey, run it back.
Run it back. We got this now.
I thought I would have had some health.
I didn't realize I was empty on my health.
Oh, here we go.
So we, well, we needed to see that for the demo.
We need to see that for the demo.
What? What?
Oh, nice.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, okay. Oh, yeah.
This scene was actually,
actually,
actually,
that's
the scene
with the
Raiders' ass
base melting thing
that was actually
done with
practical effects.
We actually shot that.
Wow.
That's cool.
And this game,
one's just
just a from
game
is a game
that's
one case
save or
if one,
like,
take set,
and set up
set up.
We actually did rip off from, sorry, we're influenced by from software.
It's when you save, all the dudes that you just took out respawn.
Nice.
Which depending on how you look at it or I can be off the car, piss you off.
Yeah, I imagine that helps for if you just wanted to farm resources by killing guys and then upgrade for the boss.
I imagine that helps for him if you wanted to farm resources if you're stuck on a boss or something.
Yeah, yeah.
But, that's kind of so you're sort of,
like, you know, like, sozoos to make, like,
yeah, yeah, so.
That's exactly what it was for.
Gotcha.
I think he's probably a sand that because we brought it up, but let's say this.
Let's say this.
One more, let's chance.
This is it. This is the shot. We got it.
Um, we got one, uh, uh, for a friend.
Uh, we got one, uh, uh, uh, for it.
from Meg Anair, who's watching Life, who says,
earlier Suda discussed a few ideas for an unconventionally peaceful grasshopper game.
I just want to point out, Frog Minutes is the world's best casual game.
Oh, what is Frog Minutes?
I think.
That's how, you know, like,
to kill or not,
like,
do you.
Okay.
Okay.
That program game is the world-eat-been-fueled
Yeah, it's a game that's gonna.
Wow, wow,
there's still people who are there.
Yeah, this, how you know,
this is,
this is Apple's apply,
it's only made it,
that's really,
that,
this,
the world's the
place,
the world,
He's just a...
...aimaheuvre...
...degrae...
...that's really...
...it's a game that...
...he says it's a game we made way back in the day for Apple.
It was a mobile game.
And you basically collect frogs
in this really super beautiful, peaceful place.
It's like the most beautiful, peaceful place on Earth.
And you're playing with frogs.
with frogs. Honestly, that's pretty much the game, but uh...
Alright. It's a... I got a lookup footage.
I still got a couple uh... still got a couple fans out there.
Ah!
Are we...
Too long, I went to him!
Yeah, unfortunately it's not uh... officially downloadable anymore.
Yeah, it's not, uh...
I guess you could say it's not on the Apple Store anymore.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Oh, good kind of.
This is there, there's a...
A, a key key on the...
A, jukech on the o'erick on the...
...augh-uzee on a...
...culecoulde, oh, oh, oh, oh, that's why you've got a...
...celsels one...
...you use a...
...you can use a...
...a capsule to rea...
Oh, I'm away.
I'm saved it before, so I don't want to waste it.
I came in with no capsules...
Ah, I...
Oh!
You made the game, I'll take it from here, all right.
I know what I'm doing.
I like this question from Openus, who's watching live.
If there was an anime studio that could take one of his IP and make it into an anime,
what studio and IP would you choose?
And why is it studio trigger?
If you, if one of an anime studio,
if you know,
if you're doing it,
if you're doing it,
run!
Stop reloading it, run!
What do you want?
And then,
and then,
why the studio Trigger
of you're
Yeah,
Trier
that's the
right?
Yeah,
Yeah,
that's
Yeah.
But,
that's the
coming Kame Katsi Doga to
with
Gondam to make
together,
you know,
I said,
I've actually made a promise
with
the studios that did a lot of the animation for this game.
Okay.
If I'm gonna make an anime game, it's gonna be Gundam
and we're gonna make it together.
Nice.
So, I mean...
Yeah, that makes sense.
There's a lot of guns.
See how that works out.
No More Heroes, too, had like big Gundam fights in.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, you get it.
Oh.
Oh.
There it is.
We got there.
Nice, nice, nice.
They call me Greg two attempts.
That's all I need.
Just two attempts.
You try Greg.
Collars they called me two-pump chump, but that's a story for another time.
That's almost going to bring us to a close, but I do want you to see the next portion of it.
Okay, okay.
I almost fell in love.
You're a sucker for pretty girls.
Get in your blood?
Hey, grandpa.
So this monster's also Juliet.
What the hell is going on?
This is probably some kind of fake.
So transformed?
Or?
It could be a failed clone.
We'll look into it back on the ship.
This is Kimberly.
Singularity disappearance confirmed.
Begin recovery operations.
Wilco.
Metal Ifi, who writes in, wants to know, is this in the same universe,
is any of your other games?
Is there a pseudiverse?
Oh, oh.
Oh.
Oh.
So, so, so the other games,
is the universe, it's a sort of existence.
Yeah.
Yeah, Suther Barth is,
there's some sort of
there's been,
um,
this time of the
character has been
some of the character
that's the
whole thing, so it's
so much
so it's not
so much
uh,
yeah,
he says apparently,
uh,
mostly based on
what the fans say,
you know,
uh,
there is a pseudiverse that exists.
All right.
And, um,
but real talk,
uh,
there are a handful of,
uh,
characters from previous games
that make an appearance in this game.
for various reasons and in different contexts.
So, that's something to look out for.
I just want to watch out for.
And Skywrights, it just says,
how's this game so cool?
This game's so cool.
Oh.
Why this game was like
so cool-y-do-do-do-do-do-do?
Wow, thank you.
Really?
I'm he's really happy to hear that.
Thanks a lot.
I'm really soke-key-making
so, I'm really working our asses off making this game,
so...
It shows.
super happy to do that.
It's really cool.
There have been multiple people that have been asking, how long is the game?
Oh, what kind of can be?
This is, what?
This is, about, about,
nice.
Like, about, about 10 or just about,
10 or 15 to go out,
to be able to be.
Um, if you get pretty good at it,
if you're used to games,
You could probably get it done in maybe like 10 or so hours.
On average, depending on, you know, how full on you play it
or how quickly you get through it, how good you are.
Somewhere between 10 to 15 hours on average.
Okay, nice.
This song, the Japanese band, of the band, with this new song,
with this new song, we're doing.
This band, this song here,
So this song here, this is an original song that we had a band called Luby Sparks
Do For Us.
Judd Nelson?
Yeah, we got Ted Nelson.
What?
Who's John Nelson in the game?
I saw the list of, you know, the voice actor auditions.
Yeah.
I'm like, I don't need to hear the files.
Yeah, yeah.
Put this guy in the game.
Trust me on this.
That's the only American in the studio.
I don't know what I'm talking about.
But you walked out, just hand up.
You get him.
He's like, oh, so he really is popular.
I told you, dude.
Sky in the chat, Judd fucking Nelson!
That's right.
So as far as I'm concerned, we got Judd fucking Nelson
and Larry fucking Cedar, and I was just for Stoke-Go-up.
There you go.
Also, what an opening credit sequence.
Oh, opening
of credit road
and so
very cool.
Thank you.
This also
also in our
other
other
really
sense in.
This is
our video
director
Araki
made this
he's got
some pretty good
sense
for this kind of
shit.
Oh man
I love
how weird you are
I love it
God
these are games
of style
I
like
why don't know
why don't know
I like a nice.
Yeah.
Come on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I see one to stick around for it.
That was great.
Yeah.
I still want to stick around for just the very, like the start of this next part.
And I love how weird this is.
Yeah.
It looks like the old ones where he'd be like, MTV, video premiere.
Apart from the typography, that was also...
That is justice without her sword in her head.
That's you.
Yeah, bud.
It's embarrassing and shit, but that that is...
me quoting Oscar Wilde at the beginning of every chapter.
Flashing FBI in the side.
Oh my god, Suda.
So this is your hub area that you come back to you after mission.
Oh my god, Suella.
Yeah, can you talk about how you landed on this, I guess this segment, right?
Like this pixel art style for the hub area?
Um, here, this, you're like, you're a hub area.
Why why this pixel out to do you want to do?
I'm really.
Can I be real here for a second, he says?
Yeah.
Kind of Family, because, I'm not.
This is 3K.00k.
But, you know,
but it's not so,
this one-one-the-heartri-san,
Hattory Grazs'an,
and he's all right,
and he's all right,
and the $3-0.
So, $3-0.
what's so?
Actually, to be honest, the parts that took place inside the ship, like the other parts are
now on, you know, pixel art, they cost something like altogether like, something like,
something like, I guess around $3 million.
Oh, wow.
Maybe $2,000, $3 million.
And we were like, yeah, no.
We're good on that.
We're not doing that.
We have the rest of a game to make,
and we like feeding our kids and stuff.
We talked to a guy named Hattori of Hattori graphics,
who's really good at this kind of pixel stuff.
And he basically got the whole thing done for us for like...
What do you?
For about, like, $300,000.
For about like...
a tenth of how much it would cost and it came out like it so it was perfect
it looks cool we were able to save time and money and um my kids can still go to school and
where this is kind of an upgrade menu right yeah yeah yeah you press r2 it'll accelerate you
yeah so yeah so status uh hearted day
You know,
level up
or a gun
or a gun
or something.
It's a
foot of
so it's
a lot of
no, no, no.
You should go
that way
so that's a waste.
So what I'm
trying to match up
the amount
the same thing?
So,
you kind of
I'm just
don't know
how I put this
You're fucking tough
guy,
you play the guy.
You're sure
what you want to do.
You grab my
man to the
max.
You grab this
shit
the power of
different shape. That's what he's saying.
Okay,
or maybe, sorry.
Oh, yeah, look, it's really easy, huh?
Then go this way.
And go this way.
You want to match, will you pick up?
Ha ha ha ha.
Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong, right?
But if you...
Like, going over a sword,
upgrade my, like, sword.
Yeah, your melee.
Yeah, mellarer.
So, so, so.
So, so.
So, I'm just gonna...
...knowing to,
...nowing to...
Okay, I'm just gonna...
Okay, yeah, I'm just gonna...
Okay, see?
...and we come out of it, that's what your stats are.
Okay, and then, you can, like...
After this, if I keep playing, I can come back and, like, rewind and redo it, right?
Yeah, I believe it.
Yeah, yeah, it's...
Yeah, when you build enough power to do it...
Oh, yeah, then you...
Oh, okay, yeah.
Looks like you can do it again.
Oh, or not then, let's go.
Oh, yeah, no, I can, like, go back and, yeah, read it.
This is, like, yeah, re-chre-mark-
...
...
Oh, okay, sorry.
You said, if you go back to the place with the exclamation mark,
then you'll go on to the next, uh...
Oh, I see.
There's like a new thing you can do with this.
Oh, my, mother.
That's, uh, mimi-mio's mom.
Oh, yeah.
Definitely not ripped up.
from a relatively well-known comedic actors.
Hey, Romeo.
But you can't sue, it's not that close.
Catchy Curry?
Can you tell us a bit about the amount of things that you can do in this spaceship area?
Well, in the other things, there are more...
So, yes, there's.
What about?
What about?
What about?
Let's what's status,
or the weapon of power-up
here is, here here.
And, my mom's,
Karee
Karee is
Karee is
a buff
so
so
all the
kind of
and make
kreel
there's lots of
stuff you can do
here
one of them
is what you're
doing exactly
right now
you go to his mom
and she makes
curry for you
No
not that
really much
this is
actually pretty hard
so don't
feel that
but
the mom makes
curry for you
and depending
on how well
the curry is
fried
what you put in the stuff, it acts as different kinds of buffs for the robot.
Nice.
And then, so, so, go to, okay, okay,
here, okay, here,
and here, this is Romeo's little sister, Luna.
And this is Romeo's little sister Luna.
And this is,
here, this is where you can do the crafty-orfering stuff.
And this is where you can do the crafting stuff,
harvesting zombies, well technically,
bastard harvesting
yeah
yeah
yeah
and then
zombie
they're
there's
seed
there's
there
so they're
on the
so they're
on the
the
the family
zombie
is a
that's
kind of
that
craft
use
when you
take out
a zombie
one of the
the bad guys
sometimes
they'll drop
like a seed
and you can
pick those seeds
up and bring
them to
Luna
and she can
like check them out
and tell you
know how rare
they are
how good they are
and yeah
you use them to plant
the...
...more one more too.
You're using to plant the bastards here and then come back later.
That's not, that one or one.
I think that's the tutorial, it's only one at a time.
Uh, tutorial, so...
Okay, and this...
Okay, and this...
...it, this...
...how their own game works.
Yeah, come on.
Game devs are right.
So, yeah, so...
What the hell?
What the hell?
What the hell?
Yeah.
There we go.
Yeah.
Now you can bust that out.
in combat.
Oh, you also name it here.
Particular about tools, Jeffrey.
Grew of well.
Yeah.
That's also, that also varies from bastard to bastard too.
So it's grew up well or has bad manners or all kinds of random-ass descriptions.
Awesome.
Well, I just wanted to hop into this area.
Thank God.
For a little bit because as soon as I got to this hub area in my playthier, I was like, oh, this is awesome.
Like, I absolutely adore how you guys went about all this.
But I think we're out of time there.
So thank you guys so much for joining us once again for this episode of Gamescast plays.
Again, if you're watching, if you're listening,
what should people know about Romeo is a dead man?
Why should people buy the game just February 11th coming out?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
First, just time in, sorry.
Oh, sorry.
Uh, sorry, for a lot of, any,
for a lot of me for a lot of me and say to putt for,
that,
uh,
many,
like,
uh,
buy them
The Dead Man
you know,
if the Red Soap
man,
yeah,
really good,
so much
really,
uh,
really,
uh,
really,
uh,
Cuyardt
Fulie's
fans of
people,
definitely,
uh,
kind of
game,
uh,
so he
says,
uh,
well,
for all the
fans out there,
uh,
if you guys
really care
about grasshopper
and video
games in general,
um,
if you buy
this game,
since we're self-publishing it, we'll make a shitload of money off it.
So please make sure you buy as many copies as you can.
And if you're a fan of kind of funny,
then you're definitely going to like this game.
And if not, then I believe dude said that they were offering complete...
Dude didn't say anything about the refunds.
I don't know with this.
Nope, nope, nope, nope.
It'll be out of Greg's pocket.
No, I didn't say that.
They can happen.
We're going back to Japan tomorrow.
I'll try to sue us.
If
PlayStation 5
and then Xbox
and then
Steam by
it's
I'm not
this way
if you buy
the PS5 version
and then you
buy the Xbox
version
and then you buy
the Steam version
you can have
three fucking versions
of the game
like you know
you can't beat that deal
right
a lot of people in the chat
were calling
for that fourth version
the switch version
that's the
fourth
that could be
a fourth one
yeah
that could be a fourth one.
When you get back to Japan, hit the port button.
Have it ready for February 11th.
It'll be great.
Well, in Japan, more than, the next to the next to the next to the next to
end up to meet up.
But, but, really, switch two are now,
now, just wait for now, just wait for sure to do this,
we're going to be able to, we're going to make.
But honestly, though, we are trying.
We're doing what we can to get a Switch 2 version.
out there, get the package version out there and everything.
We can't promise any dates or timelines or anything yet, but we really are doing what we can to get this done.
So, uh, please wait for it.
Please wait for the, you know, wait for the switch and possible a version.
But at the same time, absolutely don't wait and buy it right away.
We need the money.
This, um, this one version, actually, sort of, just are sort of, just a different,
uh, bug's not quite kind of different, so.
So, so, so
bug-fork
so if
people,
so that
Romiza Deadman
X to
if a bug
got out of
if they're
going to
get to be
PS5
of PS5
of the Xbox
and Xbox
and Xbox
and Xbox
bug

Shill of
bug
so
let's
be
all
like
like
this
can't
like
this
I'm
gonna
I'm gonna
try to
localize this
I guess
because
it's gonna
make it
sound like
the game
is buggy
as fuck
it's not
but one reason
that we'd like you all to buy
multiple versions
is to help us give you
the best gaming experience possible
because each version has its own
different bugs sometimes
like the PS5 version has its own bugs
the Xbox versions have their bugs
the Steam versions have their bugs
few and far between almost no bugs
totally not a buggy game at all
sure but if
yeah the more people
The more people we get playing the more versions,
the more bug reports we can get,
and the more we can fix those bugs.
So, again, try to buy as many versions as you can.
Help everybody out.
And report the shit out of those bugs.
You might even want to buy the same version
like two or three times unless you want to clear it like...
That's a great point.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
I just, maybe make you know,
yeah,
but then, yeah,
game, it's back on the bag of the job.
So, just to make this clear,
we, uh, we did properly debug the game.
We paid good money to have the game to be bug.
Time to walk back your own joke.
Walk back your own joke.
VGC's already writing the article right now.
But I mean, you know.
Bugs happen.
Also, he's had a whole half beer,
and so he's getting kind of shit for it.
He can't be held liable for what happened here.
I remember being 11 years old, too.
Again, Sudda 51.
Thank you so much for joining me, James.
Also, thank you so much for joining us as well
in helping us, man.
Thanks for much.
Yes, of course, this has been
games cat.
plays or each and every week we get together and play the new and upcoming games that are out
or after this. We get kind of funny podcasts with a very special guest, so you want to tune into
that. Until next time, it's been our pleasure to serve you.
