Hello, gamers.
Welcome to the Kind of Funny Gamescast for Wednesday, September 2nd,
2026.
Thank you to Denver Donahue for resubscribing with Prime for 43 months.
Finally, it's time.
All of the prayers have been answered, mainly from that one dude in chat yesterday.
Oh, yeah, there was a guy?
Chase.
Chase.
Chase is pumped up about Star Wars Zero company.
For discussion about it.
Oh, okay.
And I looked at Chase's last four messages only about Star Wars Zero Company.
Like, yeah.
They're here for this.
Oh, wow.
Apart from yesterday doing like a fascinating that you guys aren't talking about it.
See, that makes me not want to talk about it.
Whenever I reach it like that, I'm not talking about Star Wars Zero company.
Unfortunately for Chase, we should talk about Big Walk first.
I'm just going to talk about Big Walk.
Yeah, make Chase.
Don't tell me what to do.
I wonder why they're not.
Chase is also not here.
Because it's a conspiracy.
A million games are coming out.
Don't piss me off, Chase.
Chase, we hope we're here and we hope you're listening.
We hope you enjoy the discussion of Star Wars.
The subtitle of this game being something that really just makes Snowback Mike angry.
Really?
Having Zero Company?
He just doesn't like having Zero Company.
He just doesn't like having Zero Company.
I want Andy with me at all.
I had to play Crimson Moon all by myself yesterday.
That wasn't my fault.
You know, I'm all by myself.
Sometimes Roger.
Tim comes in, hey, Mike, you know, gotta take away your buddy.
Dude, here's the thing.
I could have played that game with you.
I was here yesterday.
Yeah, but you were so deep in the Z-Com.
I was playing Z-Com, and also you would have preferred Andy.
I understand.
You're deep in it.
We were also supposed to, what happened to the Souls game we're supposed to play?
Anyway, I saw a comment yesterday.
It's together.
Read the wrong release date.
That's on my bad.
That's why I had to change the last moment.
It comes out next week.
So I thought the one was the seven was a one.
One was a seven.
That's my.
Gotcha.
That happened.
I played the demo real bad.
Oh,
no, really?
Oh, no.
Okay, great.
I mean, that's great.
We like a bad, awful game sometimes.

For now, let's begin with topic of the show.
Tots, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot.
We got two reviews today because last night, Blessing rolled credits on Big Walk.
Yeah.
Hang out and get,
loss with close friends in a big world,
a cooperative online walker-talker from the creators of
Untitled Goose Game,
published by Panic,
developed again by the developers of Untitled Goose Game,
House House,
trek through an open world,
bushland area,
and solve puzzles communicating in many different ways,
released for MacOS,
PlayStation 5, Windows,
and Nintendo Switch 2 on August 4th.
Damn, that was a long time ago.
It was like it just came out.
Lord.
Blessing, you finally
rolled credits outside.
You've been playing with all your
fucking friends in Oakland.
That's really cool of you.
I don't think any of them live in Oakland.
God damn Oakland.
I think some of them live in Marin.
Oh, wow.
That's cool.
Yeah.
And then other ones live in like,
Connecticut, Connecticut, I think.
Fucking Oakland.
We got to bring them all together.
Connecticut's the Oakland of California.
Yeah.
I think it's Georgia, actually.
I think I got that.
No.
Georgia.
Georgia.
I had to,
where did I go to the wedding
earlier this year?
Georgia.
That was Georgia, right?
It was...
Kentucky.
No, it was...
Tennessee.
It was a flight from Atlanta, Tennessee.
It was like a flight away from Atlanta.
I believe it was Tennessee.
They live in that state because they hung out with me in that state.
Chattanooga.
Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Nailed it.
Anyway, some of the people were in Tennessee that I played with it.
I had to write lyrics for something that we're doing.
And when it came to the blessing portion,
I had to include an Oakland lyric.
He's got a good friend base.
I absolutely had to.
Blessing, tell us all about Big Walk.
When the play through happen.
Obviously, this is a thing that you want to like play with the same friends.
So it might take a couple of different sessions to get into it.
Tell us all about Big Walk.
Yeah.
So Big Walk is a game that funny enough, I think it's hilarious that I'm the one revealing this.
I would have expected this would be a mic review.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think you were supposed to preview it.
I did preview it virtually with Emron the Don Con and the House House team.
And we had a ton of fun.
Yes.
Yeah.
And that's my thing is, I think I was looking forward to it after reading and hearing the reviews of it.
Because so many people were talking about how well crafted this game was, how well crafted
this world was.
A lot of people were putting it on that Game with the Year contender pedestal.
And that very much put it on my radar because obviously I'm a fan of any good game, right?
Any game that people are saying game with a year contender is something that's on my radar.
But then also, particularly I like the game.
the witness a lot.
And the witness is this open environment puzzle game where you can go any direction and
wherever you go, you're going to find puzzles and you're solving them one at a time
until you kind of get enough on this island to then go to the final area.
From my understanding of how people were talking about Big Walk, it reminded me a lot of
the witness because the Big Walk is similar in the sense that it is this open world,
essentially open island adventure game where you're,
going around and finding these different puzzles that are scattered throughout the island,
and you're solving them to collect the collectible, the unnamed collectible, that we called babies.
The one piece.
Oh, okay.
We called them babies.
Those are like the little rubber shoe toys that we see.
Yeah.
They all have different names.
I believe everyone on the Don Con called ours the nipple.
The nipple.
So, yeah, they all have fun names for it.
And so we called them the babies.
You're going around, you're collecting the babies, delivering them to the towers and then trying to complete the game.
Oh, okay, okay.
Yeah.
These little guys that the game doesn't really have a language.
It does look like a baby's in a swaddle.
Kind of like.
Yeah.
I would have gone with the Kong chew toy.
If you're a dog owner, you would know what those are.
Or maybe like a pear.
A weird little pair.
A weird pair.
I don't see the nipple.
That's a weird one.
Yeah.
We were, you know, having too much.
Yeah.
But yeah, the key difference between this and something like The Witness is that this is a multiplayer
game.
When you first boot up the game, they tell you, hey, turn.
off Discord.
We want you to use the proximity
chat that's in this game.
And so for me, I have a group
of friends that, like, I've kind of
been adopted into. It's a discord of people.
Of course, my homie Aeson,
his wife Riley, right? They're very good
friends of mine now. And they have
a discord of friends that they've
adopted me into. And I went in there, I was like, hey,
any of you all trying to play Big Walk?
Because, again, I've heard so much about it. I want to play
it. Kind of funny. He's been talking about playing it.
However, it's not been on the kind of funny calendar.
It was like the highest reviewed game of the year for like just a moment.
Yeah.
No, it's gone down just a little bit, but like it's still super high in the reviews.
And so I reached out to them and they're like, yeah, we want to play Big Walk.
And so we've played it across three different sessions.
We've played with about eight to nine of us.
I think we started off with nine.
In this last session we did, we had eight people overall.
And again, it's that similar thing to the witness where you're on this island, you're going around.
There are different puzzles that you need to solve.
All the puzzles require multiple people.
Most of the puzzles also require some form of developing communication between different parties and figuring out how to communicate a certain idea or a certain symbol or a certain thing to the next person.
Sometimes it'll be a game of telephone where person A has to communicate something to person B who has to communicate something to person C.
God, that would be a, Mike is just awful describing things.
It would be a nightmare.
Now, imagine.
I think of Bach the Wolfman, who is the little monkey guy you meet in Eldon Ring.
Everyone knows he was a wolfman.
I was like, no, he's a monkey.
What is talking about?
And that is, that's sort of the thing with this game where, again, it's different from the witness, where the witness, you're just single player.
And so they can get really complex with their puzzles.
These puzzles aren't really that complex or super duper multilayer.
There's a couple in there that kind of get crazy.
But for the most part, it very much is just figure out how to communicate with each other.
And you'll have a fine time solving this puzzle.
an example of one that I did, right?
In the way that I'm playing with like eight to nine different people,
a lot of us split off from each other
into little small groups, which is really fun.
And so me and two other people,
we found a little puzzle room,
or a little puzzle house, I'll say,
with like two different rooms.
One of the rooms has like a soundproof thing to it
to where you can't hear anybody who's on that other side,
but they do have an intercom that they can press to say things to you.
And that's cool.
What they would need to do is they would go to a specific part of the room and they would hear a sound.
And they would go to the intercom and tell us what the sound was.
And then we would have to find the speaker that's playing the sound and match it to a part of the room that they can see that they're pointing us to.
And we'd have to do that five times in a row to get the perfect sound password to that unlock the baby that was in that room.
And so with that, it's like, all right, who's the best of making a sound?
Like who can really like emulate?
They were like dubstep noises.
It was like random chirps and they would have to emulate that perfectly.
And I'd be awesome at that, dude.
You would kill it.
Yeah, for sure you would destroy that.
And so that's like one specific puzzle and a group of many puzzles, again, that are weird, asymmetric.
I am doing one thing to try and I am making a pose because in this game, if you press, I believe it's R1 or L1 will like punch your arms out like this.
If you press R2 or L2, you'll control each arm individually.
They'll put your arm up like this.
And then if you press R1 and R2 at the same time, it'll do like an outward T pose sort of motion.
So you can move your arms in different ways.
Some of the puzzles are very much, hey, you need to do a specific pose.
And once again, you're in a soundproof room, but it has a window.
So you can see the other person.
And so they're going to communicate this thing to person B, who has to then do that same pose,
the person C who's off elsewhere.
and then come back and communicate something back.
Like, it's that sort of stuff.
And when I tell you,
the thing that I really love and adore about this game
is that on its surface, it's very simple.
Like, it's a very straightforward game.
Go around, collect the things,
deliver the things to the towers,
and then you'll unlock new ways to get around, essentially,
so that you can continue to progress the game.
What the game asks you to do to solve these puzzles
is legit just, hey, talk to your friends.
hang out with your friends, right?
And it's very much as simple as that.
And I think it's really brilliantly designed in that way.
Between all the puzzles, you're kind of just hanging out.
You know what I mean?
Like, it's, we talk a lot about friends slop and like these co-op style games.
Among us.
Among us.
Yeah, Among Us.
Yeah, games like that.
Don't.
Just don't.
You're just hanging out with your friends.
And I think I'm just going to drop the term friend Slop going.
forward because like I was having a conversation with Tim right where I was saying I don't think
this I wouldn't call this game friend slot because the amount of work in time that went went
into this and Tim kind of mentioned like well you kind of look at it and it looks the same as all
these other games it kind of made me reframe the way I think about it because I've always been
talking about friend slop over the thing of well they may peak in like a month or two months
or however long in a in a game jam and put it out for five dollars for me that was kind of like
the slot portion of friend slop but I don't say that to disregard peak I more so say that as like a
A lot of developers are making these games really quickly and putting them out.
I don't want a game like this to be looped in into like a conversation of,
oh yeah, it's like this other game, right?
I think all these games are special in their own way.
And this game in particular to like the quote unquote friend slap aspect of it.
So much of the game experience is, all right, it's me.
It's my friend Aeson.
It's Riley.
We are looking at a map and being like, all right, where do we want to go?
And then we're taking a big walk over there.
And it's just us trotting through the woods, singing songs on the microphone.
I had this thing where I kept singing, darling, darling, stand by me just as like our travel
song.
You know what I mean?
Like we're having, we're making up our own languages.
Again, calling this thing a baby.
We're trying to keep inventory of the items we found because in the game you can find a, you
can find walkie-talkies to communicate with each other from long distance.
You can find a radio just so you can play music in the background.
You can find backpacks so they can put things on.
And so I would get a backpack and put a radio on that backpack.
And now I'm just the music man for the session.
So much of that in between space, that hangout time with friends, I think is weirdly where the game shines.
The game shines when it kind of gets out of your way.
And then every now and then it gets in your way and goes, here's a puzzle.
And then those puzzles are really fun, really neat to do.
But overall, I really enjoy this game just as a way to hang out with friends.
And I think that's where it excels.
And I think that's a tough thing to do sometimes.
and you're designing a game like this is
how do we make an experience
where people are getting along together?
What was the max amount of players
that you could use in this,
that you could have in this game?
That's a good question.
I believe it's 12?
Yeah.
I think it's 12.
And you had how many in your group?
Nine.
Nine at the max, but then sometimes eight.
Do you think any more or less
would have detracted or enhanced the experience?
I think playing with eight to nine people
might have been too many, actually.
Yeah, I was going to ask you,
when you brought up,
hey, we split into two groups, right?
does that detract from the experience of like,
now I'm missing out on whatever Mike and Andy are doing
and you guys are doing that.
Sure, you'll come back to the campsite
and share the stories, but like,
is this one where it's like,
hey, just get a group of four
and stick together and do it all?
What I will say, because I'm looking at my hours played,
I played, we beat the game in about 8.7 hours.
That's beautiful.
According to my Steam clock,
I imagine if we were playing with just four people,
it probably be closer to 15 to 20 hours.
We were efficient.
We were so efficient
We divided and conquered
But what that means is that there are so many puzzles in this game
That I didn't get to experience personally
I missed out on like probably
Maybe two thirds of the things in this island
Because we're in teams of
We're in three different teams going around
Communicating through walkie talkie
Oh hey I just got I brought back two babies to yellow tower
Okay cool I got one baby I'm gonna bring it over to green tower
And so we were very efficient in that process
I think if you want to experience everything in Big Walk,
you should probably play with around four people.
Nine people might be too many.
And it was,
it's also a thing where you ever go to Disneyland,
I wouldn't just spend a Disneyland.
So there's a fresh off the time now,
yeah, it's fresh on my brain.
But you ever go to Disneyland and it's like,
cool, there's 12 of us,
there's 15 of us, right?
And it's, you know.
You end up only bonding with like three or four people.
Yeah, you end up only bonding with a few people.
Or it's like, you don't really have as much of a say
in what we're doing because it's like, okay,
with this many people, there's one guy or two people
that are like, all right, this is what we're going to do,
and they're the planners, and it's like, okay, I'm just going to follow suit.
I posted a meme to my Instagram stories,
because now that I beat this game,
my algorithms are feeding me, feeding me memes.
But it's an image of the Big Walk, one of the Big Walk characters,
and it's like, the text says,
not once did I know where we were headed.
And that's kind of how I felt, where I was not the navigation person.
I was very much like, hey, I'm here to have fun.
to hang out with my friends.
Aeson would be like,
yo, let's go over here.
And I'm like, Beck, I'm following right behind you.
And then it's not until we get to a puzzle
where I'm kind of involved,
where I'm like, okay, cool.
I can kind of understand puzzles pretty quickly.
I can figure out a mechanic pretty well.
But I don't know.
I felt like if we had less people,
I could have been more involved in the navigation.
I could have been more engaged in the puzzles.
And I don't think it made it a worse experience necessarily
because there are things about playing with nine people
that worked really well
just as far as like
the big group element of it
felt very cool
when we felt like we were doing
this big goal
together with a lot of people
that alone feels good
but if I wanted more agency
in the puzzles
then it would have been better
to play with less people
how quickly were you all able
to differentiate from each other
because like
I don't really know
how character customization works
if anything at all
so early on in the game
you come across
a little house that has a mirror and has like paint splotches or like paint colors on the wall and you can have another player basically paint you whatever color combination you want oh as you can see there are three colors that these characters have you have the bottom of the middle on the head um so you can customize those to whatever colors you want it still took a while for me to know who was who and even to this day I probably couldn't tell you like if you gave me a random character it probably took me a second to be like oh that's Bailey oh that's this person um I think
I think it was Riley and I think Aaron both were like red, like full red, and then the other one was full maroon.
And I could not tell the difference the entire time.
I was like, I'm going to go Nigerian flag colors.
And so my head was green.
My middle was white.
My legs were green.
But I think the bigger part of it that makes it that allows you to sort of figure out who's who is the chat, is the voice chat.
You know, like once I hear you talk, the little nose on these characters start going big and small.
So you can kind of tell, okay, this person's talking, that's Aeson's voice, that is Aeson.
Okay.
So that was really the bigger thing.
But sometimes I'd have to like see somebody from afar and be like, I think that's that person.
But if you're, I think that was a problem because I was playing with nine people.
If I was playing with just four people, it wouldn't have been a problem whatsoever.
And you all played this only on PC?
Only on PC.
It is crossplay, though.
So I could have played it on PlayStation, but I prefer to play on PC because we're, we met up on Discord.
And then like, that was kind of our hangout spot between playing the game.
And then we just played on PC.
Also on Switch 2, which is like crazy.
Yeah, that's what I was going to ask.
If anybody's played on Switch 2, I heard that there were some performance issues initially.
I don't know if some of those problems got ironed out or anything like that.
You have the puzzle poppy of kind of funny.
Sure.
Give me a scale 1 to 10.
How are the puzzles?
How are the puzzles?
Are there challenging difficult puzzles?
Is it all kind of easy puzzles?
They're not all easy.
If you're talking about difficulty, I would say like five or six out of,
10.
Okay.
You know, I think most of them were fairly straightforward.
A lot of this, a lot of figuring out how to solve the puzzle is understanding what
does this puzzle want us to do.
Once you know what to do, I think they're fairly easy.
Once you know what to do, it's like, oh, all right, just, yeah, you do it.
Some of them, though, are very much involved as far as, there was one puzzle.
I didn't even want my hands.
I didn't want to be involved.
There was one puzzle.
I'm not going to spoil all the mechanics of it, but like, essentially, you needed like four
people because you had one person in one building looking at a room filled with different lights
in different parts of the room that are organized in different patterns.
None of the patterns were consistent enough to where I could be like, oh yeah, on this wall,
get the second light.
It's like no, no, no, no.
The way that they're scattered, the ways in which they're grouped together, the ways in which
they're, it's like, I don't know how to communicate to you which light.
So that you have one person that's in that room.
there's another person that's standing outside of that room that can only talk to you because you're communicating through an intercom on the wall.
That person would then need to communicate to a person that's on the, like essentially the opposite side of the road.
Like there's another house that you need to go to.
Tell those people what light button that you need to hit and it needs to match up to the person in the other house.
And you need to do this like six times in a row.
And I was just standing in the house watching it all go down.
I didn't want to have any
any part of it because I didn't want people
to get mad at me
because if I miscommunicate this thing
like we're halfway through this
Like a Destiny Ray like I'll just refresh it stop
You know start over start over
Yeah I'm like I'm not gonna I don't want to fuck this
Wipe is with the word I was looking for
Yeah I yelled at by so many LFG players
In the middle of the Destiny Raids back in the day
What are you fucking doing?
And you're like I'm so sorry
Yeah I like that Mike brought up
You know give this thing a score
Because I didn't even ask you
what is your review score for Big Walk?
That's a really good question
because this is a hard one
because I think experiences may vary
depending on the group that you're playing with
how many people they are playing with,
all that.
I would land around an 8.5.
I think this game is great.
I think this game even at times
is fantastic.
I'm not going to say anything about
the ending portion of the game
aside from like I think I found myself
getting weirdly emotional.
I've heard people like it.
It's like, hey, you should get to the ending.
You should get to the ending.
This is not like play it once.
No, you should get you should see this through.
You should see this through.
And I can't do it in one day, you don't think.
Or like one night.
Let's say a five-hour session.
No.
Well, it depends on how many people.
If you're playing with four people, it's going to take you probably about 15 hours.
Okay.
If you're playing with more people than that and you're dividing and conquering,
it might take you more closer to nine hours.
Wow.
But not one night.
It took us three sessions, three sessions overall to do it.
Very cool.
We'll get to some super chats regarding a lot of the big walk stuff.
and then we'll eventually get to some Star Wars Zero Company talk.

Scotia Bank, you're richer than you think.
And we are back.
Make sure you get your Star Wars Zero company questions in for Blessing.
And Mike, since they have been playing that game,
we have a super chat here from Aeson, AK Dot, who says,
Bless, who was the MVP of our big walk play-through?
Thank you for the $2.
Who is the MVP?
Ah.
Rank your friend.
rank your friends. I love ranking my friends.
You could say it was you. It was definitely not me.
I really thought he was saying blessing was the.
That's what I thought he was too, but it definitely is him asking.
If he said that, I know he'd be lying.
I definitely was, again, I was the meme that I was like, no point did I know where
we're headed.
Sometimes it's nice to just go for a ride, you know what I mean?
Sometimes it's nice, like, you know, sometimes, I feel like in different scenarios,
you can be the group leader. You know what I mean?
For us, it's like when we're podcasting right now, Andy's the group leader.
You know what I mean? On Game Showdown, I'm the group leader.
I like being present with Andy sometimes.
In Big Walk, in the group that we were playing with, I was not the group leader.
I'm very much like, somebody told me where to go and I'll go.
I feel like Riley might have been the MVP.
Riley would set them apart.
Yeah.
I love when I have a role that people can zone in and say, Andy's good at that thing because otherwise, like, I'm just so scatterbrained.
It's so I'm awful and like overcooked and stuff.
But when Greg tells me what to do and overcooked, I'm really good.
I feel like in this one, like, it's like camp, right?
It should be like everybody should like try a new role.
There should be like no set roles.
It's like, no, Andy, get in the puzzle this time.
It's your turn.
bless you lead us this time yeah mike it's your turn in the puzzle get in there you know what
me stop standing in the back and like maybe i'm maybe i'm down playing myself because i think you're
right and there was maybe a puzzle or two where i was the person that's like oh no this is what we do i
understand this you go over here you do this right didn't happen as often but every now and then i
would have that moment riley i'd still say was it was the MVP because i think she did a good job
of bringing the whole group together and seeing the bigger picture of um like what we were doing
at any moment right knowing that we completed this town
in this tower, now we gotta get to this tower.
And the game is designed in such a good way
of knowing where to put certain tools
to where the big towers, which are the big things
that you're trying to complete in the game,
they have flares that you can put up
that'll let people know like, oh, something's going on here.
Maybe we're being called to it, right?
They also have intercoms or radios
that you can walkie-talkie from as well.
And so I think Riley did a great job
of utilizing those tools to let people know
know the bigger picture of, oh, hey, everybody, come to Yellow Tower.
We're going to talk for a second, figure out what our plan of attack is.
Hey, well, I'm getting on walkie-talkie.
I'm looking for this person because we're going to go do X, Y, Z thing.
This game is, this game will put to test your communication skills.
And I think Riley has excellent communication.
So, hell yeah.
Good job to Riley.
We have to have in-game chats.
Have to have in-game chat.
Cannot play on Discord.
Shout out to Sync.
Should not play on Discord, I should say.
Is that their name?
They played with you last night.
C-I-N-S-C-C-E.
That's Cinke.
Okay, Sinky, who superchatted,
Blessing Hat, Stand By Me, snuck in his head,
or stuck in his head all night.
Oh, darling, stay.
I want to make it clear.
The specific version I was singing
was the Florence of the Machine version
from Comic Fantasy 15.
Jesus Christ.
So, Nonglin.
Oh, so good.
J.B. Bonifacio says,
Bigwock, ending of the year.
Thank you for your $2.
Super Chat.
Yeah.
Zeke speak with a $3.
Superchat says the term friend slop implies friend gem.
Zachary with a super chat says,
I don't know if this has been brought up before,
but is Mike and his brother named after Michael Jackson?
No.
Jackson's named after Bo Jackson.
Oh, that's shit.
Mom and that big Bo Jackson fan.
Hell, yeah, that rocks, dude.
You mean that's named after Michael Jordan then?
He's the goat.
He's the guy, dude.
That's why.
All right, Star Wars Zero Company.
Let's talk about it.
Tell us to kick us off.
They heard me about it.
I just ranted.
I know, but they've heard me with the game.
You've heard me with the preview.
I mean, just to catch you up, I'm 20 hours into this game.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm loving every single moment of it.
This game rules and is a must play.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Which is developed their new, uh, company.
What, they did something?
Bit Reactor?
No, this is their first game.
Yeah.
I could assume that they have like people who worked on.
Well, their former excom.
Yeah.
Former Xcom.
Yeah.
Um, the game is said during the Clone Wars era with players assuming control of
Hux, the leader of zero company, a group of misfits and mercenaries,
tasked with finding an emerging threat to the galaxy for PS5, Windows, Xbox, X, and S.
Released August 27, an 85 on Metacritic and an 88 on Open Critic.
Great to hear, great to see.
Yeah, here we are.
Game is now officially out.
We're about a week after release, and I've returned back to playing Star Wars Zero Company after my preview.
Of course, you can go check that out with me and Lucy James, where I gave you the pre-release preview of the game.
but now here I am another 10 hours
added on to that. So I'm sitting at about
20 plus hours in this game.
I can tell you I am nearing the end of it.
But as I told Blessing last night,
I think I could add on probably another
four to 10 hours, I bet,
of side content, other things that I want to do and try.
But I've really been loving this game.
It's X-Com, but with, of course, a skin of Star Wars, right?
And so if you're a big Star Wars fan,
I think this is something for you to jump into and enjoy the story is really well done.
The voice acting, the presentation, the, of course, graphics, the immersion, the world building is all really solid on this one.
And then on top of that, it's just built on top of a great foundation, which is the XCOM gameplay, right?
If you like taking it to the grid, if you've played a game like XCOM before, you kind of know the chess board and the chess pieces you'll be playing with.
And they've done a great job utilizing that into the story.
Star Wars world.
Cool NPCs to care about?
Yeah, they have a great casting crew.
Of course, there are characters that are fully developed out,
and then there are recruitable characters that just simply have, like,
personality traits, but they don't have big backstories.
They don't have their own, like, super deep story missions.
But there are characters that you'll create your own stories for,
similar to XCOM, right?
If you've ever played that, you will make your own stories with these recruitable characters
and fall in love with them, name them however you like.
Like every character is fully customizable.
Did you name any character after me yet?
No, no.
I've actually fallen in love with the pre-made characters.
I've had a really tough time.
Yeah, I've even thought about the fact that I could rename them.
Yeah, you can rename them.
You can do whatever you want.
And so I've had a tough time getting off of the core cast.
I really like Trick, the Clone Trooper.
I like the Mandalorian.
Clyde.
Sly, Cly, I believe.
I really like, of course, the Jedi apprentice in there.
So for me, it's been hard.
I actually recruited a medic and a sniper.
I was rocking them for a little bit.
But then you kind of share classes with the main crew.
And it's like, well, that's a cool sniper guy over there.
I don't need my recruitable sniper anymore.
So I kind of put a lot of my recruits to the side right now.
Damn, I love the character art.
Blessing, how far are you into Star Wars, your company?
I feel like I'm still very early.
Like Mike's mentioning classes and stuff where I'm like, oh, yeah, not even hit that yet.
I've played about six hours
and I also feel like I'm going slow because I'm
I never played Xcom right and a lot of
the mechanics of this game I'm still
wrapping my head around the systems
here and so far I will say
I am really digging it I'm having such a good
time I want to chat out Sir Lockwood in the chat says
this is Blessing's first tactical game of 2026
I needed a fucking big
he played new genet
I played the fuck out of me me Jennings oh that's true
yeah I played me this is tactical 2026
yeah I'm making a change and this game is a second
attack.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm just saying don't lie on my name here.
All right.
Don't lie on my name.
Two, you know, two's a company.
Three's a crowd.
Three's a crowd.
So like when the third one comes out, fire emblem.
Fire emblem.
It's coming out soon.
That's going to be three.
But, you know, hopping into this, I'm having such a good time for multiple reasons.
One, I like how this chess board works.
I like the destruction.
I like being like, okay, I'm going to try and hit this person who's behind this corner.
I know I got a 40% chance, but I'm going to try it anyway.
And then I don't hit them, but I do hit them.
but I do hit the thing that they're hiding behind.
It's like, all right, now they're open.
Now that's opened up away for me.
I love stuff like that.
I love when games can be dynamic in that way,
and I'm sure that's an ex-com thing,
but again, all this is new to me.
I like the stress of permadeff, you know,
that does a lot for me as far as not wanting to risk.
What's his name?
The Stormtrooper looking dude, clone trooper.
That is a trick.
Yeah, not wanting to risk trick because he's coming into this mission injured.
And so I'm like, all right, I'm going to keep you to the back.
Like, you're going to be range for now.
though it's not your class, but I'm going to have you be ranged because I don't want to put you too much at risk.
I like that kind of feeling of wanting to protect my characters and knowing that if I really mess up,
they might be gone.
And that's a big deal because Permadeath is really pushed on this.
You don't have to play with Permadeath, but the Bit Reactor team and the game itself is like,
hey, Permadeth is a big feature here.
You should really play with it.
There's a whole character memorial site at the hideouts.
So like, if your cast does die, you can go up to the wall and like, he'll remember him.
a quick word about them and you can read up on their stats and stuff.
But yeah,
Permadeath is big in this.
Permadeth is really big.
And it's not crazy.
Yeah.
They give you a good like you,
they got to go down three times.
So you get it,
you get a good like,
hey,
he's gone down one.
You can't get a big accident out of nowhere.
I can't get a big accident out of nowhere.
I'm going to pick it back up.
He's gone down a second time.
So now I know like it's now or never.
Can I be honest?
It's not super long.
So Tim won't just randomly run into a wheezing with self-destruct.
And die right on.
And then die immediately.
I mean,
I'll be honest.
They teach you that in the tutorial.
I forgot because none of my characters
have been going down.
There you go.
There you go.
There you go.
Damn.
Yeah.
There's also a nice
Overwatch mechanic where
if you have any action points left,
you can essentially set one of your characters
to be overlooking a specific cone.
And so if any of the enemies run through that cone,
you get free shots on them.
I like how much this game is making me stop
and think about how I want to situate
and plan out things.
And again,
that's the tactics genre that I'm trying to use this game
in something like me genetics as being my gateway into
because for me growing up with chess,
I feel like I've always had the,
I've always had the tactics gene
in me. It's just not been activated. And I'm
trying to activate it on purpose.
And it's working. It's your ex-geen.
It's my ex-teen. Yeah. And so
I've been having a good time. I'm curious, I'm like,
I'm curious if the story can hook me. I think that's the
one thing that I'm not all the way into
yet. And I'm, granted, I'm not
the biggest Star Wars person. I like Star Wars.
I like the aesthetic of Star Wars. In fact,
you saw it in the cutscene there,
the trailer, there's like a cool city
that's like kind of a middle of a planet,
but like it's a, it's like upside
down and I don't know how to describe this shit.
Cloud City? Is it cloud city? No, it's the
city that's in, it's mentioned
in Rogue One, I believe, from what of my preview
was, I'm forgetting the name now
because I was literally saying. It looks cool as hell. I don't know how to
describe it. That's where their hideout is. It's like a
it's like a broken city or we're going to
like meet in the middle. It's very cool looking.
The ring of Kaffreene. Yes.
But yeah, I'm loving this aesthetically because it's capturing Star Wars so well from the music to the visuals and all that.
But I'm not really as engaged in the story.
I wonder if I'm going to be, Mike, are you like you?
Because I'm all in on the story.
Hell yeah.
I mean, that was the big conversation we had from the preview is like, hey, if you're a Star Wars fan.
Did it take a while?
No, I was in from the beginning.
I was very interested in the coil, the shadow plague, right?
like I think blessing maybe another hour or two out from like really being into it or not right.
But like, yeah, the shadow plague and what, um, wait for it.
Shadow plague, Infinite Coil and the Badass Lady.
What is her name?
It'll come to me.
Have I met her?
Yeah, you probably met her once.
Fathom is her name.
Fathom is very cool.
Fathom is very cool.
And so, yeah, Fathom is the leader of the Infinite Coil.
and the infinite coil is made up of people that have now been infected by the shadow plague.
And the shadow plague actually is a battle mechanic that you will see out there in the battlefield.
It's very cool.
It's called Residence.
And so every time you take down one of the Infinite Coil minions or just troopers out there,
that plague will actually transfer to another Infinite Coil member on the battlefield,
making them stronger all the way up to three essentially.
It's the year of residence.
You will pass that residence once over, and then they'll get up to two,
and they'll earn a new mechanic on the gameplay, whether it be self-heel,
whether they go invisible for more melee and, like, trying to be invisible on the map,
or you'll get them a third time, and that's when they kind of go berserk,
and they go super mode on the shadow plague.
So it's a very cool one of when you're on the chessboard,
as blessing's saying, right, you are now counting the heads of the infinite coil going,
okay, well, if I kill this guy right now, he's going to pass,
the shadow plague over to this one,
making them stronger. I should be
mindful of that, right? And so
you can do it in a number of ways. You can
just take them out as you like and pass
that shadow plague, making them stronger and stronger
and kind of deal with the repercussions.
You can get them down to
25% health on each of them
and then go, okay, how do I take them all out
one right after another?
So I don't have to deal with the shadow
plague and what that brings to the battlefield.
It's really, really cool. I like that.
There's always a plague. There's always a blight.
There's always a skirt.
I really like that.
Of course, yeah, all the characters, fully customizable.
So whatever your hawks is, you can have a, you know, a blaster pistol, a sniper rifle.
You can give them the blaster cannon.
It's really however you want to play.
Does that completely change their class and maybe what they specialize in if you give them like a different weapon?
No, the weapon won't change their class, but you choose their class.
Gotcha.
And then they can get a secondary class as well later on in the game.
So my hawks is a gunslinger.
And then because I didn't have a medic out there, I made a hospital.
I made Hawks the medic because like
Hawks is on every single mission pretty much.
You can choose up the four but I feel like
Hawks is kind of present on every single one of them.
I think they might force Hawks to be in.
Yeah, so I feel like it's like no matter what you're bringing Hawks
and so yeah, I made him the medic.
I have my bounty hunter is, I forget,
I think she's a trooper and a heavyweight
and then I have a sniper who's a sniper
and a scout. So yeah, you kind of mix and match
all the classes.
Actually, that's actually pretty exciting, which is very cool.
Because I was talking about this during my character creation.
I did the kind of funny stream a few days ago
where I played my first hour of it.
And there are certain classes that I looked at
like the scout and sniper where I was like,
oh man, this feels like something that should be won.
And so the idea that you can now later on
mix and match classes like that and have two,
I think we'll make it very cool
to have a scout sniper character.
And they all do different things, right?
Like the gunslinger, he pulls out the,
you know, whatever gun you have.
But if you kill a full kill
on whatever character that you're shooting at,
you don't use up your action point.
So if you're being real smart about it,
if you can get an instant kill on someone,
you don't have to use that action point.
So what I'll do is I'll bring the battle droids to me,
the little tiny B1 droids.
And those are like so low health,
you can kill them in one shot.
So I'll go one, two, three, four,
kill like multiple people and never use up an action point.
What class is that?
That's the gun slinger.
And so then I'll, you know,
I can continue using that or using other abilities,
which is really fun.
And you'll find what works for each character.
My sniper has ambush.
So, like, in a certain setting, if you have enough, there's a word for it, but if you have enough,
Oh, like, I know what you're talking about.
It's either AP or focus or, um, not pressure.
Advantage?
Advantage.
You have enough advantage.
My sniper will be able to ambush somebody.
And it means, like, I'm going to hit you real hard, you know?
And it's like, I love using that whenever I can.
Get to jump on them.
Um, all right.
So, Mike, it sounds like you're pretty close to, like, you're going to, you're going to, you're
to see this through, it seems like, all the way to the end.
Yeah, I mean, I'm deep on this.
The story really picked up last night with where I'm at as we head towards the conclusion.
And so, yeah, I'm excited to beat this game to the fullest.
I'm really pumped up about it.
Oh, yeah.
Bless, do you feel like maybe this is one that you might tinker with a bit more?
You don't got to make a decision now.
Yeah, I'm going to keep riding the wave.
Like, I would like to beat it.
You know, again, we're in that review season.
And so who knows if I'm going to get the, if another game is going to come through
and totally throw me off.
But for now, I'm like, I looked at Mike, I was like,
yo, we're doing Friday.
Put me on the stream Friday playing this game.
Jesus.
Christ.
Hey, you're talking about the Starboard, Andy?
You're talking about the Star Wars?
You want a zero company.
Oh, Star of Zero Company.
More like Star Wars.
Zero out of ten, Mikey.
Oh, no.
You don't put the Wado in it.
No, Wado.
Oh, would you do?
You say you'll still play it.
Oh, you keep playing.
You enjoy you.
You'll see you through, you say.
He's right, Andy.
I got to stop playing.
A lot of definition on the belly button.
Do you like my vest?
It's a child size.
It turns out.
It looks good.
He said he keep playing.
I didn't think he was going to come this way.
I didn't want him to come this way.
I think I'll keep playing.
I think I'll keep playing.
I think everything water did to you.
You keep doing it.
What did you do to me?
What did you do for me?
Your friend.
Do your bad?
I think this was my first time eating water.
Where little
Eddie in the game?
No little Annie.
No little Annie.
No little water.
No little pumpkins.
Oh gosh.
There he goes.
Yep.
You know, I'm excited because
when do we see him, it's like,
that's a million-dollar deal right there.
Let's make him a weapon charm.
Let's make sure in Galactic Racer,
he's a hood ornament.
You know what I mean?
I mean, like, let's get him out.
I think I was way more okay with him just wearing the Jedi robe and covering up all of it.
As opposed to getting the blue body suit.
It's just, yeah.
This is the second show I've been on a row where I've been interrupted by this force of a being.
It's a force of a being.
It's scary.
And honestly, he was standing next to the statue.
Yeah.
And I thought there were two people back.
I was like, what else is happening?
But it was just Wado.
The statue was a fake out.
Damn.
All right.
Well,
Blessing feels like he's gonna...
I'm gonna keep playing it for now.
Keep playing it for now.
I like that,
but yeah,
I think this is a minimum 20-hour game
if you were rushing it.
Yeah.
So you're probably in it
for like that 20 to 30-hour window.
So,
you know,
plan accordingly.
Hopefully the story grabs you.
I think this is a great game.
If you're a Star Wars diehard
looking to jump into the tactics world,
one,
you know,
for the first time or one time,
yeah.
This is a must play.
If you're a die-hard tactics fan
that loves X-com,
what they've done
with the IP in the Star Wars universe from, as well as he said, the music always hits.
The voice acting is incredible. The story is solid and really, really fun. The gameplay is a blast.
Like, this is a really big hit. This is a big deal. A couple of things I want to bring up.
One, I'm playing this game on my gaming laptop at my desk, my razor one, I believe,
man, this shit does not run that amazingly.
Yeah, I was bummed when Barrett said that it doesn't seem like a lot of people who are
any issue with scene deck like it doesn't seem possible no it doesn't seem like it's gonna it's not
running on seam deck i thought dude my first was like yo i'm gonna play star wars zero company i could
have sworn it was coming to switch too definitely not it's definitely not on switch let me tell you this
if you've played an excom game this runs like an excom game well you'll do a move and you'll wait
and you'll wait you're like all right let's do that move y'all oh my god yeah thank that i'm waiting
for the other team to go i did i yeah that i'll do something they'll do some epic kill and then
then the camera will go outside of the map
and you'll just stare at a black screen and you're like,
that was solid. Great job on that one. There will be camera
cuts where like first, but second, it definitely
didn't load in the thing that's supposed to be loaded in.
So it'll cut and then loaded it real quick.
It's very extra. Chat house console
looking because I know these are brunies are probably
just playing on PC. Yeah, I'm playing on. I see
an actual sad taco say optimization is bad and
digital long boxes. It doesn't run well anywhere.
Anywhere. It seems like it's just one of those
things maybe just kind of requires a bit more
patches to go through. We have a super chat here.
Maybe if the studio hadn't furloughed
a bunch of people, we could have gotten some stuff.
True.
Oscar Flores with a $5 super chat says,
Gibronies, I went to the near orchestra concert on Saturday,
and it was amazing. When are we getting into the near?
What is Yolkatar up to?
I regret not going to that concert.
That's one that. Where was that?
I think in Seattle.
Because I heard of it happening in, I think, Chicago.
I had a friend that said they were going to the
under tail into concert and the near concert happening on the same day and i was like listen i love
both those things those are two of my favorite soundtracks of all time if i go to those in the same day
you got a man you got put me down you got put me down i'm sorry we go into that hollow night thing i know
it's not like an official thing but it's still kind of fucking cool i i think it's close to i think
because there's only like they're only being five people in the thing i was like oh that makes me
less i want it like i want a big fucking thing that's fair and like yeah so because i
I saw another one of like...
But dude, it's gonna be in a church
and they're decking it all out and shit.
I saw like a Zelda one that's very similar
and I was like, oh, cool, maybe this is like a cool
kind of symphony right?
And it's just like one dude playing guitar
and I'm like, I don't really...
I don't know who you are and I'm sure you're like popular
but like, I don't know.
Maybe you play with them.
Yeah, maybe like...
Texas Euro steps says,
please do a marathon stream of
of this.
Love the game.
I don't know if you're talking about...
Big Walker's Euro company.
Yeah, that came in when y'all were...
Gotcha, gotcha.
Commander Cubei says,
I really enjoyed Big Walk,
just finished it a Monday.
8.5 is fair.
The walking part was a bit too tedious
for my taste by the end.
Yeah, I didn't give much
like negative critique of Big Walk
because I don't have that much,
but like one of the things
I think the geometry collision is not great
when I'm trying to walk up a hill
and I'm fucking trying to figure out,
all right, I'm getting stuck on me.
Would you call it?
Or sloppy?
No.
I'm trying to stay away from the sloppers.
I like that.
Stay away from it.
But it sounds.
We're getting better.
Sloppy.
The game,
here's what I'll say.
That open world is pretty, though.
When you walk out,
it felt like walking out of Vault 101 in Fallout.
I'm like, damn, this game looks, okay.
It is really cool when you get that first look.
You're like,
wow.
First look at the world.
What are we doing here?
Yeah.
Have another super chat from Snow who says,
rolled credits on Zero Company last night.
What a journey.
I echo everything.
Mike says,
this is a good play if you're a Star Wars fan.
Barry, do you have any interest in...
I finally,
I got a PlayStation code,
which is why I was asking about console performance.
But yeah, I'm very interested.
I've played a lot of, like, dummies first tactics games, right?
Like, I really liked Mario Plus Rabbids, the first one.
Persona 5 Tactica, Demon School, I think, was, like, last year.
Right.
And so, yeah, I'm definitely, like, I've been yearning for the grid, weirdly enough.
Just, like, learning more about this genre.
So I've been weirdly less so excited for this game and more so interested in Fire Emblem.
But now that this is out and everybody's talking about it and like it reviewed really well, I'm like, damn, I should check this out.
Also, just like this menu screen just fucking gets me.
Anytime you see the shot of, I forget what this building is called here, but it's like where the Galactic Senate comes together and shit.
It just fucking hits.
What?
Yeah, the Chase Center.
The Chase Center.
Whenever you see the shot, it hits.
I think this is the same like menu screen as the Star Wars episode three like tie-in game.
And it's fucking.
it's sick every time, man.
I desperately wish that this game came out earlier in the year
in a more dead period.
Like, I would have played the shit out of it.
Just for the concept of,
I love having,
I love making like an NPC homie,
which I know you're not making them,
but like naming them and then kind of growing that attachment
and if anything bad happens.
You can customize every single character,
so you can do that.
I love everything about what this game is trying to sell me.
It's just a bad.
I'm trying to get Don Walker.
done before the spoiler cast.
Okay, I was gonna ask.
I was like, what are you playing?
It's keeping you away from it.
Is Don Walker?
Don Walker, um,
uh,
Moonlighter 2 and my nighttime game
has been field of mystery on my Steam deck.
Uh-huh.
But this, yeah,
like,
Don Walker for sure is the one that I'm like,
putting in five hours,
four hours a day or whatever and,
uh,
I'm getting close.
I'm always done with that's how I'm having with Don Walker.
I'm like,
man,
I wish this game in another time of the year because I really wanted to play this.
And then Greg was like,
play on a musha.
And I was like,
screw you, Greg.
And I played on my shit.
Sorry, Michael, you want my, Mike?
Oh, no, I'm just going to tell you how much fun you're going to have with this game.
Yeah.
I'm like, yeah, the Overwatch ability, I'm using the Jedi for the push and pull of the force, right?
So like, I'll pull you into the Overwatch cone.
So I'm doing damage on the pole.
And then the Overwatch will enact and it will shoot you.
And then some of the shadow plague members from the Infinite Coil, when you get them up to a certain level,
they'll run at you when you shoot them and they'll try to hit you.
So I put them in the middle of two.
characters and he would run back and forth.
Every time I shot him, it was one of the best
experiences around. A couple more things all
throughout there, right? Andy, you'll be proud of me.
I'm playing this game on PC
because of mouse and keyboard.
For a game like this, I feel like I want access
to be able to click on certain things. That's how I
had it with Mugenics as well. I think
tactical games I got to do mouse and keyboard
which is why I'm not playing on console.
And then another thing,
Mike, this hub area that we got going.
Oh, the hideout. You go out,
you go out on your regular missions where you're doing the
tactics thing and then you come back to the hideout and like they're weird not weird but like there
are things in between where it's like you're running in like third person mode and all that stuff
do we like that do we fuck with that uh yes i personally fuck with that i know that a lot of when we
talk about these tactics games and then jrpgs and just RPGs in general there is a big push right now
i feel like in the game's world of like gamers want this social side of things right i want to know
your backstory i want to build bonds and relationships i want to fall in love i want to
special character-driven missions
to have more of your backstory uncovered,
right? The ring of Kaffrean is
what this place is called. Yes, and I think, you know,
there's a lot of games that do it differently, whether
they go super in-depth with it, or keep
it kind of shallow, and I like
where the hideout is. I like to come
back after each mission. I run around
my little hideout. It's not too big.
It's just the right size where I walk up to
Andy. He gives me like one to
three lines of dialogue, and we call it
good, right? And then I go to the next person
and I check in with my different, you know, members of the party.
And we wrap that up, right?
There's a lot of other games that are like,
hey, let me tell you about, you know,
seven paragraphs of dialogue that probably don't mean anything really to me, right?
So for me, this is my kind of social side where it is very short and sweet.
I can walk up to different areas to upgrade, to buy black market parts,
to go to the med bay and put people in there.
I can work on my droid.
I really like where this is out.
did a Greg boy talking about different
tactics games and what I'm
seeing and what I like and yeah that's where I'm at
right there. I thought this lady's name was I saw
John Morant.
Yeah, yeah. So funny.
We see Gavatar say this hub is
10 times more engaging than midnight suns.
And that's the one that I think that I was thinking of
instead of X-com because they also
like for access.
For access, I did midnight sun. Yeah. Yeah. I want to say I do like
this hub as well. I like how snappy it is. Like not
snappy is the wrong word. I like how much
doesn't waste your time.
Like you get in,
if you want to do the things you can,
if you want to just like,
all right,
do the basic things,
move on to the exhibition,
you can.
I like how many different things
you can upgrade.
I think I'm overwhelmed currently
because maybe it's just me
easing into the genre.
But yeah,
I get in and I'm like,
all right,
I got a focus point
that I can upgrade here.
It's like my bond
between characters.
Okay,
what about my class upgrades over here?
Okay,
but what if I buy new weapons?
But what if I do this?
What if I do?
Like,
it just keeps going of things to upgrade.
And I think I'm still
at the point where...
upgrade your hideouts.
You can buy black market parts.
I'm moving so slow because I'm still taking in all the information that is throwing at me.
But it never does.
It doesn't feel like it's wasting my time.
It feels like the right depth for me, right?
Because I don't want to call it shallow as you brought up.
There's a lot of things to do.
But it also doesn't feel like I'm there for 20 to 30 minutes, right?
Like I can be there for five to 10 minutes and then we're on the move.
And I appreciate that.
Yeah.
I don't really want to sit around the hub world all that long.
But I do want to come and have the fun, wacky,
one liners from the maintenance man and the lady that works on the ship.
And like they're going back and forth.
Like it's like the office TV show with what they're doing.
And that's it.
And I smile and I walk away and I go,
that's good enough.
That's all I needed from them.
I think the one thing is part of me wants the like a menu version of it too where I
get put in the hub and then I can just press the touch pad or something to be put into
like a quick menu that are all the different things.
Like Spatoon Raiders does this where it's like you can run to the thing in
Spatoon Raiders to get the upgrade or you can press
the button and then just treat it all
as different menus.
God, how go to Sputon Raiders?
Man, what if you went back and played for Switch to Raider?
Such a good game.
Fuck, that's a good game.
And there's just so much to do in this game, right?
From the Intel missions, where it is
kind of just pick and choose your own
adventure and then to the actual
missions. And it's like, hey, this mission goes
away in four cycles. This mission goes away in one
cycle. You can do a bunch of
side missions and then get to the main mission.
You can do a lot with your time there, right?
I'm on cycle 25,
and I could be on cycle
35 really if I wanted to really
slow it down. I really appreciate that.
Royal Martin and a couple of the people
are saying you can do that. You can use the map to teleport.
Oh, okay, I won't
try that. And then on top of that, my
biggest complaint is
I don't like that there's not an ambush
in this. I really like the wind conditions.
Yeah, I do really enjoy
the wind conditions of this game. I think they do
a good job of like, it's not always
wipe out every unit, right? It is, hey,
X-fill and get to this area. It is, hey, X-fil and get to this
area. It is move your
units all the way to this
area. Capture and hold this spot
for three to five turns and then get out
of there. Or hey go capture a droid, get
this droid to come back with you. Go save
that. I think the wind conditions
are different and pleasant, which I
like a lot. But there's this weird moment
where this game goes into a
third person action adventure
model where you just kind of walk down
a very linear corridor. It's not
any sort of craziness, right?
But it does look like an action-adventure game,
almost like Star Wars Outlaw.
Okay.
And you're walking around and you're getting immersed in the world,
but then you're like roll up on your enemies and then it switches into the board game, right?
But like at that moment, there's many times when you'll watch.
It's like, we clearly have to jump on them or everybody.
Be quiet.
We'll get the ambush on them.
And no matter what, the mission always starts with,
they see us and we all go into battle formation.
In XCOM, they do a great job.
There's missions in XCOM where you show up and you have the ambush.
They don't know you're there.
so you can get first shot on them.
You can move your units around them if you want.
And then there's missions where they have the ambush on you
and you just into an all-darked-out map
and you have no idea what's around you.
And you make a move and they start shooting.
I think that is so cool.
And I don't see any of that in this game.
Which is too bad.
I see gravy biscuits in chat.
Very excited for NBA 2K.
Mike, are we going to do a co-op campaign?
We got to try it out.
We have to try it out and see how that works.
I totally agree.
I would love that.
Because they're always so goofy and like they're never great.
But to be able to do a duo like co-op, a creative player, what are they normally
called?
My player mode or whatever?
We got to do that.
Listen, did you ever see the commercial with Michael B. Jordan and Kobe Bryant's?
And Kobe Bryant clearly didn't want to be there.
And Michael B. Jordan was like, let's take a look at your highlights, Kobe.
It just did an empty gym.
And Kobe's like, yeah, sure.
Every year, two days foot in the bill.
Got him a minute.
They got crazy, but I mean, it's been around for a while.
Like, what do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean?
Well, it's just like, I love this game, but I'm not giving it the attention to dessert.
Okay, if you want to be a ball or an NBA 2K, you got to grind every night.
The 2K heads know that.
From 9 to 5, you work.
From 5 to 9, you grind in the gym.
And where does your work money go to 2K?
To 2K.
Everything you earn in the real world, you bring it here.
The more you put in, the more you get out.
The only only just casually played 2K?
You know what I mean?
Like,
No.
No.
I haven't played a play to K.
I haven't played a play now game of 2K.
Ever.
That boy has never been present.
They might as well stop making that for you.
Nobody plays.
That's how I played it.
I look at the exhibition button.
I laugh at it.
That's great.
That's not.
No.
That's franchise.
No.
I go right to my player.
I go quick play.
Get out of here.
I've only played quick play in 2K.
Dude, great clips already coming out.
I'm like,
I built this build.
It's not good.
I got to delete it.
It's like they're going to $60.
They got $60.
