What's up everybody? Welcome to a very special kind of funny games cast.
I'm your only host, Greg Miller, of course.
The date Monday, September 29th, 2025.
I hope you are well.
It's a taste of a Greg way right now, I guess, kind of if you aren't a member,
over on patreon.com slash kind of funny, YouTube.com,
slash kind of funny games, Apple or Spotify,
where you could see me podcast by my lonesome each and every day.
What is happening you might ask?
Well, you clicked on a headline and a thumb.
now, so you probably already know.
But we are one month to the day from the Outer Worlds 2 being released upon you,
me, and the rest of society on the Xbox and PC.
And if you didn't know, I'm pretty goddamn hyped about this there, Outer Worlds 2.
And it got me thinking, one of my favorite pieces of content I ever did at kind of funny
was my Starfield spoiler cast.
It was a one-man show where I ranted and raved for more than an hour about everything that I had done
in Starfield, how I built my character, et cetera, et cetera, so on.
so forth.
In this insatiable run-up to the Outer Worlds 2, I can't stop thinking about playing this game.
I can't wait for this game.
I'm so excited to jump into this game and it's been that way for quite some time as me,
Greg Miller fan of Western RPGs, open-world RPGs.
I got to thinking about like, well, I want to start playing now.
But of course, I can't play right now because I don't have the game yet and review codes
aren't out and the game isn't out for another month.
But I thought when I do get this game, I want to go.
I want to sit down and I want to be able to play.
And so what dawned on me is when I start one of these RPGs and I make my characters,
it takes me so much time to sit there and make the goddamn character to go through and pick my choices.
We're not talking about making them look like anything, but picking a name.
I usually go through.
I randomize, I customize.
I do the thing.
I finally find somebody and I usually make a Taylor Swift.
Maybe I make a Cal L.
Maybe I make a Becky Lynch like in Starfield.
I use somebody to go off of, but even then it changes what I think the character would do.
I don't get lost in it.
What am I going to do?
What perks am I going to pick?
What traits?
What skills?
Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
And I said, you know what?
After the latest preview of the Outer Worlds 2, I have at my disposal all the backgrounds,
all the traits, all the skills.
So I really could do the work ahead of time.
I could sit here on a kind of funny games cast with you, the kind of funny audience,
and make not one but two characters.
And that's why in front of me I have two D&D character sheets.
One labeled good.
One labeled questionable.
Because I'm not just going to make a bad person, but I'm not just going to make a good.
It's a whole thing we're going to do.
We're going to do a thing together where we make me two different characters.
We're going to go background by background, trait by trait, skill by skill as we decide what this character is going to be.
And it isn't a one man podcast.
It's thousands of people podcast because I'm looking at the live chats over.
over here. Of course, you can super chat YouTube.com slash
Kind of Funny Games to be part of the show live as we go to get your questions, get
your comments, get your suggestions read as we go.
We're going to wait into it. We're going to get into the system. We're going to watch some
videos. We're going to listen to some things. It's going to be a great one-man show.
And I hope you are along for the ride because this is the Kind of Funny Games cast.
Each and every weekday, we come to you on a variety of platforms live like Twitch.tv.
TV slash Kind of Funny Games. YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny Games and podcast services around the
globe to run you through the biggest topics in gaming's.
Don't worry about it.
Whether it be reviews, previews, or building characters for highly anticipated
RPG so I don't waste all my time composing at the keyboard.

YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny games.
Apple and Spotify, of course, you give us $10.
We give you the world or 80 ad-free episodes a month.

Housekeeping for you, Mike and Roger are at Call of Duty next,
and it's going to be, they're going to be some of the first people in the world to play Black
Black Ops 7.
Tune in live tomorrow, September 30th at 9 a.m.
That's a special time, 9 a.m. on Twitch.com slash kind of funny games to watch them play and get hyped.
Of course, for right, no, Barrett's got something.
With that, just because I feel like we get bad about updating like our regular content when we do stuff like that.
Games Daily and Gamescast will therefore be later in the day because they'll be live from 9 to 1.
I was going to say, yeah, believe me, they ended at 1.
So games daily 1 o'clock Pacific time, that would be 4 o'clock Eastern time if you're out there.
And that's even questionable.
You know how it is around here.
Of course, today wasn't questionable, or was it.
Kind of Funny Games Daily was about the Saudis Kushner and more buying EA.
After this, you're getting the kind of funny podcast with the crew reunited.
It's me, it's Andy, it's Nick, it's Tim.
And after that, Nick is going to be streaming a video game.
What was it called again, Bernd?
I don't know if we know what he's.
They did.
It is the one that they were going to do.
That's the multiplayer thing.
Him and Kevin are playing it.
I forget the name of it.
If you're a kind of funny member, today's Greg Way is 21 minutes with even more video game
review stories from yours truly.
Thank you to our Patreon producers,
Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney
the Somme twining. Today we're brought to you
by Kind of Funny Games Daily episode
2000 and our new
merch. We'll tell you about that later.
For now, let's begin the show with what is
and forever will be
topic of the show. Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots.
As I told you,
the Outer Worlds
2 is one
month away. If you have
been living under a rock, of course. This is the latest RPG from Obsidian Entertainment published
by Xbox. The Steam description cracks me up every time. The Outer Worlds 2 is a sequel to the award-winning
first person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. Thank you for telling me so much about the game.
No, if you wanted to go further in, I went and got onto the old websites you got out there and the
official description reads, as a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Director agent, you must
uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity.
Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of SkipDrive technology, where the fate of the colony
and ultimately the entire galaxy rests on your decisions, your strengths, your flaws, your crew,
and the factions you choose to trust.
That sounds awesome.
That's what I want.
You are going to get a lot of me talking and talking to you and making decisions and going
through all these different things here.
But there's two videos I want to watch.
The first, a short one.
I want to get to the story trailer.
Both of these pulled, by the way, from the SGF Xbox Direct.
The story trailer that opened, I want to watch the first part.
It's narrated by Auntie Cleo, I believe, who gives a setting of what's going on and what the Earth-directed director-agent is involved in, right?
Then, and we'll come back to me, and I'll talk a little bit.
I want to go to what is an Earth-directed agent from the actual direct presentation, and we're going there for about five minutes to hear Obsidian talk about what's going on.
But for right now, Bear, can we start with that story trailer?
And I can still talk to you also.
But now will they talk?
You know what I mean?
Audio listeners, I'm thinking of you.
Calm down.
It says invasion of Arcadia, day one.
And then it's going to go 1,000.
1,022.
Do you think I care that the colony is in disarray?
We didn't come to Arcadia to get bogged down in pointless warfare.
We came to spread freedom and liberate resources.
For profit.
But this pesky Earth directory.
agent is mocking things up. They're not alone in doing so. And they think they can just choose how things play out.
They could stop us from stealing the protector its brainwashing technology, which we need to improve our market share.
What if this stranger aligned with the order and that world computer of theirs?
That could be the key to closing the riffs that threatened the colonies.
So you see why this menace must be wiped from the face of existence, or better yet, brought to our side through the power of capitalism.
Now let's get out there and buy our way to victory.
All right, you can cut it there, Barrett.
Of course, from here, it's no more Cleo talking.
It's just awesome stuff and some great music.
as you see the gameplay of the Outer Worlds 2,
which I've already said from playing
is going to be pretty goddamn good from what I've done.
I think it sets up the story well of what's going on here.
Earth Director, Red Agent, here we go.
What's going on in the colonies?
What is it going on with this?
There's skip drive information.
But again, we don't even need to get into what's happening overall in the game.
We're talking about my character and where we're starting my character
as is Earth Directorate Agent.
I think the way Ante Cleo sets it up there,
it's very easy to think of this person as being good-natured.
They're in it for the right reasons.
this, that, the other. At the very end, she does
the thing of like, or we could bring him to our side,
which is where we come back again, where I'm going to make a good
character and a questionable character.
All right, as I've talked many times,
and we'll see how long I'm able to keep this up.
My hope with the Outer Worlds 2
and the permutations they're in,
because the way they've sold me on this game,
and what I've seen of the game,
and the reason I continue to beat the drum
is that I think,
based on what I've seen,
this has the possibility to be Obsidian's best RPG.
And the reason being is that they're giving,
you ownership of so many different choices in here.
So the idea when we sit down for the review is that we've all had the same story,
but we all took different paths to get there.
And what kind of ended you get?
Well, that character died and this and the way they talk about it,
which could be bullshit and could just be PR,
is that it's going to be so many of those little things.
And granted, this is a smaller, you know, RPG,
so many of those little things that we're going to have this really customizable world.
So again, what I've said is when I get my review code,
I plan on making a good character and a questionable character.
And basically I want to play through the game and go, okay, great, that's a good stopping point.
Go to the other character.
Get back to this time point.
Go back to the first character.
Play that game.
Is this a lot?
Yes.
Shorter RPG in the grand scheme of things, right?
We're not talking about a hundred hour campaign or whatever.
I just re-reviewed Outer Worlds and just a few months ago.
Me, Andy, and Stella, a gamescast.
You should check out.
And I forget what.
I did all the DLC there.
And it was something like 30 to plus hours, maybe 40.
I might be out of my mind on that one.
one, but I thought it was, I'm going to say 30.
So you figure without the DLCs in there, if it's similar to that, I'm doing 20-ish somewhere
in there.
That seems like it could work out for a review.
But also, there's always a chance I'm not going to like the character I made.
And I just, I like one more than the other.
And I just want to go.
And we'll see how long I have with the game and what the review schedule looks like, you know,
I got to review Pokemon too, apparently.
Heavy is the crown over here.
But this is what sets up where we're going with it.
I think that's a great setup from Cleo of like, oh, you know, they're mucking up the plans
and stopping us from brainwashing people, or maybe we can join them.
I do want to go to this direct now and hang with them for about five minutes.
When they go through what is an Earth Direct agent,
and we're going to go all the way up until I start talking about flaws,
because flaws happen organically as you play the game,
so it's not worth calling those out.
So, Barry, can we jump into the direct?
If you are at home and wondering,
I'm going to jump in at the hour 15 and 42nd mark.
If you want, but we've given you a role,
that role is an Earth Directorate agent.
You can think of them as kind of like space cowboys or space sky marshals.
They're the good guys that go into places and kind of fix everything that's wrong.
You're going to be one of those, but we don't tell you why you join the art director.
There could have been a lot of different reasons, right?
It could have been because you're an actual lawbringer and you want to go in there and spread law throughout the galaxy.
It could be that you're aroused about and you just had nothing better to do.
After you pick your background, one of the really important choices you have next is choosing your traits.
While we had attributes in the first outer worlds, we've leaned into traits for the outer worlds too,
these big changes to your character
depending on which ones you pick.
So it could be something like brilliant
where you can tag extra skills
and you start getting extra skill points.
And that's obviously really great
if that's how you want to build your character.
You can also go and do something like Lucky
where you get extra critical chance
and you also get a lot of really cool options
throughout the game as well.
Of course we brought back dumb.
So players love the dumb option.
Tell me,
do you believe in signs?
You're in audio listeners.
You mean like the ones that say trespassing?
Quite what I meant.
But I like your contempt for boundaries.
I could put your adventurous spirit to good use.
And you get lots of really cool, fun conversation options in the game, but we took that even further.
And again, there's lots of elements in the game where you can be dumb and use that for something.
Could be something as simple as banging on a machine to get it to work.
After you've invested in some of your traits, your next choices are going to be choosing your skills.
The skills themselves basically allow you to build on your plans.
and what your character is doing in the game.
That will be everything from playing stealthily
to specking for an explosive specialty.
Throughout your entire journey,
your character continues to change with the different choices you make.
In the Outer Worlds One, actually had more skills than we have,
so we condensed them down to really the core and essence
of what we really wanted there,
but we made each point that you put into a skill much more impactful.
So instead of getting small percentage changes,
we actually did much larger changes per point that you put into each skill.
And again, all these things, because of how they're checked,
inside the world itself can matter quite a bit.
You know, just even having one additional skill point in something
can open up a lot more options in the world itself.
If anybody's played Fallout New Vegas,
they'll be very familiar with, like, the perk system.
We basically borrowed that, but went even grander.
We actually have more perks than Fallout New Vegas did.
But here's the cool thing, right?
We check and use perks for literally everything, right?
So you can do everything from, hey, I want to make a stealthy,
build the steel stuff and is really good at that.
Okay, great.
Well, you can take maybe the pickpocketing perks.
So that's not available to everybody,
but if you select that,
now you can actually go around
and steal things out of people's pockets.
There's another perk called heavy-handed, right?
Where say you're a melee person,
what this does is now your power attacks that you use,
actually knock people down.
Oh man, I really like the serial killer perk.
As you start killing people, they will drop hearts.
And you can take those hearts,
and essentially you're taking these trophies, you could say,
and it's actually giving you a permanent health bonus
every time you do it.
We have this perk called Assassin.
Now, this is an early game perk that you can take,
which every time you use stealth attack an enemy,
you're actually going to get a movement bonus for a certain amount of time.
Flaws were a system that everybody loved from the first game.
But we wanted to make it more personal to the player.
The flaws are going to be important.
So are the perks.
But the perks, we're starting with where we're making the character.
So from the get-go, hitting go, let's make a character, let's get off to the races,
and who they're going to be and what it is.
So I think if you start talking about perks,
serial killer and assassin,
are indeed speaking to me, but I'll need to get in there and feel it out.
And that comes very far after.
I don't know how very far after.
But after we get a good character and a questionable character, I'm going, because again,
I don't want it to be a bad character.
I don't like being bad.
But I don't want, I mean, this is role playing 101, right?
It's like, I want to, I think this should be morally questionable.
But again, I think this is like one of the things that is a hang up to me as a narrative.
And I'm interested to really weed into it, get into the weeds here with you.
of you're this Earth Directorate Asian.
You are a space cop.
They say space trooper because they don't want to do the ACAB thing.
But like you're a fucking policeman in the space or whatever,
maybe a Green Lantern Corps, whatever, however you want to get around it.
But there, let's get, I want to know.
So we're going to go right into backgrounds.
That's where we're going to start this whole show off is we're going to go through all the different backgrounds.
What, one, two, three, four, five, six is I got here, six different backgrounds.
Yeah.
And so that'll, we need to read through these and we need to start going.
And it's also where we got it.
I think once we get a background choice maybe,
that's where we can start worrying about naming them.
I'm very hung up on the names.
Again, I don't know.
I don't like making myself in a game.
Well, except skate.
Fuck a little shout out to that.
But like, I usually am not happy with the look of them.
And then it's, why would it be me?
And then I got my own history.
But then also, I feel like doing the Taylor Swift thing sometimes works really well.
Sometimes it doesn't work at all.
I feel like the, the minutia I'm trying to get into today with you,
doesn't work to making a...
So I want to start here.
All right.
So, Barrack, if you can toss up,
screenshot number one,
as you start going through
these backgrounds, screen by screen.
Yes, this is a very nerdy games cast.
Thank you for hanging out.
So when we get here,
we start choosing our backgrounds,
these are the possibilities, right?
X-convict.
You never cared for the Earth Directorate,
and they never cared for you.
So much so that they decided
it would be best for you to spend much,
if not all, the rest of your life behind bars.
However, desperate times
call for desperate measures.
So you accepted a deal to work for them to clear your record or escape while they weren't looking.
Okay.
Immediately, I like this setup for our questionable person.
Will we use it?
I don't know.
This is interesting.
Nitro 30.
I always bring a character from another franchise is my character.
But then don't you get hung up on what that character would be doing in the other franchise?
Like, and again, but at what point does it not matter for them?
Like making Becky Lynch in Starfield, it was just, oh, this character kind of looked like Becky Lynch.
I'm going to name her Becky Lynch.
and then I never really thought about professional wrestling's Becky Lynch
while I played other than the fact that they were like Becky Lynch
and then I fell in love with Andresia.
I died my hair blue to, it doesn't matter.
Go to Gambler.
The next screenshot, please.
Gambler, the grand plan, this is in quotes.
Ha!
You know the universe is run by blind luck and chaos.
Even if you've been riding the winning edge of that chaos for most of your life.
Unfortunately, that winning street came to an end
when you lost a bet with an agent who was trying to convince you
to utilize your penchant for bucking the odds in the service of the Earth Directorate.
I don't know how a bit looser on.
I feel like that guy, yeah, would be a pushover.
It's a fucking leave.
You don't want to do this?
Do you want to do it?
Your word means that much to you?
Jumps immediately disagrees.
Gambler really does sound like a reg type questionable.
I just don't buy that you'd hang out that long and then fall into the order.
I guess this also speaks now to Greg Miller.
All my life.
Knock, knock, knock.
It's the army.
It's the Marines.
Come, not really to my whole life,
but you know,
you're in high school
and they're trying to recruit you
to be in the armed services.
And I was always like,
I just really can't deal with you trying,
the whole like,
you're getting put in the system.
We're going to break you down and build you back up.
I was like,
trust me,
Greg Miller is a very unique cog
that doesn't fit in a lot of machines.
And so if I was at,
like I got yelled at in,
you know,
by coaches in basketball or in gym class,
whatever,
and I would just laugh.
So like to jump,
full metal jacket,
you put me into a fucking boot camp and they're screaming at my face.
I'm just laughing them.
Not going to go well for me.
Not going to go well for the team.
Can someone edit in Greg Wees laughing into that scene of full metal jacket?
I need that.
I mean, why are you yelling?
Calm down.
I get it.
We shoot the bad guys.
Chill out.
I'm tired.
I don't want to run right now.
See, I just don't think.
So the gambler thing, it immediately starts falling apart for me.
I've just been like, I don't know about that.
Let me see Lawbringer.
The next screenshot background here.
Lawbringer, after experiencing a.
youth of hardship and corporate male offense, no, malfeance, right?
You join the Earth Directory, devoting your life to bringing order to colonies in the
throes of chaos.
You are a champion of the people, whether they want one or not.
The law is not to be trifled with, and neither are you.
When I read this during previews, this immediately is what spoke to me as my good person,
my good person.
And I'll tell you where my head's at with the good as we start to go, okay?
for the good person, I think a lot of Captain America.
Now, again, I don't want to do,
this is Clark Kent, this is Calil, this is Steve Rogers, right?
But I think loosely taking something like that here works for me.
Again, as you know, I usually make females in my games or whatever.
Why?
I don't know.
It's another thing where it's like, if I'm playing as a guy and it's not me,
which never is because it never looks like me,
I get into the whole jar head, you're just some dude,
whereas for some reason with a woman character
I feel like I'm watching a movie
slash crafting a character better
I also like playing dress I think usually the outfits are better
for them even though I guess they wouldn't be here
based on what we saw but again
my Taylor Swift in Outer Worlds One
having that blue and pink armor
from
Ah it's gonna drive me crazy
Chat
Whose armor is that fuck because I had so much
I made the rest of the team wear it
Girls and guys
That's gonna drive me nuts
come back to me
whether,
go, everybody,
Langley,
stop watching live Langley,
go watch the thing
where I talk about it
and the other one
come back to me.
You don't have to do that.
You'll figure it out.
Anyways though,
I'm imagining,
Rezo, was it Rezo?
It says not,
it doesn't matter.
For now,
I want to,
you'll confirm for me.
I imagine both of these
are going to be
of the female persuasion.
And so where I've been,
I try not to think about it.
I've tried to keep the mechanism clear,
but you understand I podcasting
my head all the time.
I can't be stopped.
I'm just the funniest
guy.
I got to listen to myself.
when I've thought about this and I've thought about the good character, I've thought about
Lawbringer and then I've had the name kicking around Stevie Rogers, an homage to Stevie
Nix, an homage to Captain America, but again, giving her a blank slate to work with,
where I don't have to actually, I'm not thinking of Steve Rogers, I'm thinking of Stevie
Rogers doing this and that we're off to this way.
Well, I like this.
Joby Juan Canobi says, I've always liked a good character that was a reluctant hero.
Lawbringer seems that, seems not that, but that's just.
to me, of course.
Yeah, so that was something I wanted to challenge you.
It was a Rizzo War II, by the way, thank you.
Yes, I'm sorry, Barry.
Like, your definition of good in this story in this setup with Lawbringer background, this
seems like someone who is going to kind of constantly side with this, you know, big corporation.
And in the name of, what is the word here?
The exercise?
Order.
Bringing order to people, right?
and all that stuff.
So like, do you really feel like
that's a good background?
Well, here's what I think is interesting
and a great point for you to bring up,
Barrett, I love you for that,
is that when we,
I do this exercise in my head,
it's the background,
and then I take over with the future.
And so when I've done this before
and I've made out a good character
and they're doing a good thing,
we get to something happening in the story
where it challenges me
and I don't just default to,
well, good is good.
Or I've signed up and I'm,
I signed the contract with the Earth,
directorate so I'm going to go that way.
I still, for Stevie Rogers,
now you're back to Steve Rogers, Captain America,
be a tree, you know, don't move no matter
what people say, you know what's right.
It's that kind of thing of giving them the moral
fiber background of it, that they can still
deviate from the path. I'm not making
a fucking Nazi
fucking boot stepper here where they're just
going to fall into line with whatever. I see.
I mean, that last sentence, the laws
is not to be trifled with and neither are you.
But for me, I feel like that also
falls into like Buzz Lightyear. That's how Buzz Lightyear.
That's how Buzz Lightier came out of the box feeling right
But by the end he found the joy
And he was also his toy
He was but he found the joy of being a toy
And hanging out and making his right choices there
But I hear you I hear you I hear you
But I would still leave open that like
Stevie isn't looking at the note
But we have to pick Stevie
I'm just saying if that's where we go okay
But I appreciate you doing this
Professor
Our next background is
Next background is professor
You were a prominent voice in your field
Until your penchant for full contact
Archaeology and your colleagues
jealousy at your success rate for retrieving artifacts long thought to be lost cost you both
your tenure and position. Fortunately, your talent for dealing with the more unsavory elements
of artifact trafficking will serve you well in the Earth Directorate. When we did the preview,
the last previews we did, I picked this background because I thought it'd be interesting
to see the science of it all play out. You know, you're just doing the intro to the game or whatever.
So there was a couple in there. I don't think it's the most, for me,
exciting thing for what we're doing here as we set out to shake people down.
I appreciate it there.
But for me right now, so far, bottom of the list in terms of the backgrounds I'd pick.
Let me see, Renegade.
Renegade.
You may have lived a life that skirted the laws of any colony you found yourself operating in,
but that's what you were paid for.
And definitely not a reason for your unsatisfied previous employers to hunt you down, is it?
Joining the Earth Directorate seemed like a great way to solve the problems
your quote unquote work history may have caused.
See, I like this one again.
This is like two sides of the same coin with gambler, I feel.
But this one I appreciate more of like, yo, we were already doing some nefarious shit.
We got it here to kind of dodge our thing and get away from that.
I like that.
I like that.
Joby-Wan, again, in the chat says, Han Solo type.
Exactly.
Exactly.
I appreciate that one.
And then the final one is roused about.
Roust about.
When you're not, I'm sorry.
You're not sure what happened.
You simply wanted to find a job that use your particular set of skills, which would be quote unquote, none.
Yet one accidental death of a well-known villain later, you're now known as a gun-slinging Earth Directorate Asian not to be trifled with.
You often find yourself wondering if this, quote-unquote, Earth Directorate has any good cashier openings.
That's a funny one.
It's a funny one, a little aimless, not so much what I would be going for.
So.
Could be good for starting off a good character, though.
aimless but then finds themselves
in the situations where
they actually have to start
figuring out who they are.
No, no, I like you. I like you challenging me.
I like you challenging me.
You're not sure what happened.
You simply wanted to find a job
but use your particular cells of none.
Yet external death of one known villain later,
you're now known as a gunsling
earth recreation not to be chocked with.
You often find yourself wondering
if this earth director
has any good cashier openings.
Hmm.
Hmm, Barrett.
See, because again,
When I've done the I'm a good guy thing,
I feel like I eventually get to that
where it does,
the background maybe doesn't make sense
with the choice I'm going to make anyway.
So roused about your reading here,
it kind of got a Peter Quill thing going on.
Someone else was saying,
because like Peter Quill,
Peter Quill is a bit more renegade Han Solo type,
I would argue.
Someone pointed out Mickey 17,
like they're just Robert Pattinson's character in Mickey 17.
He's just like trying to fucking,
survive and make a dollar to here there.
And so he, you know, accepts this job from a corporation to essentially, like, clone him over and over again for space shit.
So, yeah, yeah, yeah, like, kind of bumbling, kind of an idiot.
But, like, has a good heart.
And then eventually, like, you know, it's the hero's journey type of thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let me read Lawbringer.
You can always click through him, too.
Don't worry.
I appreciate you wanted to be right on.
Well, it's hard for me to click backwards.
Oh, okay.
after experiencing a youth of hardship
and corporate malfeance
you joined the Earth Directorate
Devoting your life to bringing order
to colonies in the throes of chaos
who are a champion of the people
whether they want one or not
You know the law is not to be trifle with
And neither are you
Whether they want it or not
Let me do renegade again
You may have lived a life that skirted the laws
Of any colony you found yourself operating in
But that's what you were paid for
And definitely not a reason for your understanding
I'm not going to the Earth Director.
It seemed like a great way to solve the problems
your work history may have caused.
See, now my problem is,
I don't want to do renegade for good,
ex-con for questionable,
because I feel like now we're just making one character.
See, again, this is my issue with wanting to play two.
Two characters is I want them to be different.
And I'm always going to be drawn to the questionable person.
So right now in the running,
I would say, is ex-con, renegade,
in Lawbringer, but we only have spots for two.
See, what I like about Lawbringer
is I think a Stevie Rogers
would join for all,
again, it's, you know, all the bad stuff they've seen.
They're joining, trying to do it,
but then, yeah, when they become the
Gestapo here or whatever,
if that's what happens,
which you assume it is when any organized fucking army.
Well, they're also, like, it says in the trailer,
like, hey, we need to brainwash people
and they're going to take away our brainwashed technology
so we can...
And that's my thing
is it kind of sounds
like a hero,
you know,
a good and bad thing.
I like the lawbringer
set up
to see what happens
in this world.
I'm locking in
Lawbringer.
Oh,
lawbringer.
My good person.
Again,
what end up being?
Who knows?
So then
renegade your skirt
in the issue
in the work as well,
let me see ex-convick
again, please
if I can.
That's number one.
X convict.
You never cared for
the earth director
or they never cared
for you.
So much so,
that they decided it would be best if you spend much
it. I fucked all this up. So much
so that they decided it would be best for you
to spend much, if not all the rest of your life
behind bars. However, desperate times
call for desperate measures. You accepted
a deal to work for them to clear your record or
escape while they, I love that. I'm taking
that for my question of person. Because I feel like
that's a great setup for
doing good guy stuff, but then
also when I want to, if I need to, do bad stuff.
Okay. How do we feel
about Stevie Rogers is just working for me?
is that working for anybody else in the chat?
I need to know that.
Because again,
like,
this is an interesting exercise
because usually I let
when I'm making the faces,
that I'm like,
okay,
this will dictate what I'm doing
and where I'm going
and how I'm doing all this stuff.
Whereas getting ahead of it now,
I'm going to have to go in there
and then find some person.
Taylor O says,
yes,
definitely working.
Ken Jr.
61.
Sounds good.
Stevie Rogers is a very fun concept.
All right,
so we're naming our character
here on our character sheet for D&D
on our good one here,
Stevie Rogers.
Stevie
Rogers
But now the question of one
An ex-convict
Who's only in this to clear their record
And get out of it
Chat
I want name suggestions over here
Superchat him if you got him
Random drinker super chat
I said Lawbringer is like Judge Dred
Let him be your bad guy
But without the bad cop stuff
More like a bad paladin
Roustabout for the reluctant hero
I don't like the reluctant hero though
You know what I mean
Anyways
Give me bad question
names. Give me some questionable inspiration
in the chats right now. You never to super chat them. Love it
if you did, but put him in there or whatever. Again,
we're going to go with a female character
here. Let me know about that.
And meanwhile, I'll tell you, of course, this is the

We have a winner for our questionable person.
Again, I said, give me a name.
It's going to be a female.
We're going to be an ex-con.
We're going to be doing this stuff.
I love this one.
We're bending the rules, kind of, but not really.
Stick with me because I was like,
do I do it.
I don't want to do it Taylor Swift.
I don't want to do somebody like a name maybe that I know.
Somebody mentioned games earlier.
Does it bring in people's things?
I love this.
And it went by really quickly by the time I saw it.
I was grabbing a coffee.
By the way, I got these canned coffees from Costco now.
Holy shit.
They're good.
All right.
But are they Busan good?
No, nothing's Boozon.
good but if I had unlimited access to cans of Busan trust me we'd be in problems problem city over
here I believe it was this is trinity it went it was a name all slammed together I got your
suggestion and I love your suggestion uh this is trinity sound off over in the live chat on
twitch if it's not uh said lee everett from the walking dead this is trini thank you
this lee everett from the walking dead everyone knows how much I fucking love the walking dead
from Telltale Season 1.
What a definitive game.
Of course, Dave Fanoi was Lee Everett in that one.
And if you remember, of course,
Lee Everett, the game starts with him in the back of a cop car
being transferred, right?
After, you know, being whatever.
And then the zombie outbreak, I don't know, I'm fucking,
I don't know why I'm worried about spoilers for the walking down.
Games almost, almost 20 years,
15 years old, or whatever.
Because Lee is a name that obviously can be a boy's name of a girl's name.
And obviously, it's 20, 25.
anybody's name can be anything but i like i like lee everett everybody's putting twists on it kebbs doing
lea everett uh marquis over on youtube lisa everett i'm gonna just leave it as lee everett because
i i i love that because it's like parallel universe shit uh here's lee everett it's a she this time
uh it's a it is a convict ex-convict situation or whatever i like that i like that i like
that clem everett this clem's too clem is too important of a name we're not putting clem on
this and i'm spelling lee that way i'm still gonna spell lee my way because i don't like i i see
spelling it, L-E-I-G-H.
I know Lee. No big deal, everybody.
All right. She's very nice.
But no, we're going to just spell it as we normally would.
I don't know if that's how you do it, but again,
2025. It's in the future or different space over here.
I don't know fucking know.
We did some good work here.
All right, so good character is going to be Stevie Rogers.
And Stevie Rogers is going to be a lawbringer.
Background.
Questionable character is Lee Everett and ex-convict.
And again, questionable doesn't mean bad.
I don't want this to be like it pops up and it's like, would you like to murder these children or feed these children?
And you think I'm going to say murder the children.
I'm not locking my character in that much.
I just like a character.
This ex-cons nice of like, I am a, I'm Earth Directorate until I can sneak away or whatever I'm figuring out or blah, blah, blah.
I like having a gray Jedi says Incadu, which I don't think exists, Barrett.
Fence or Jedi, you know.
Does that exist?
I feel like most of them are really in on the dog one way or the other.
Don't get me fucking started.
I didn't know. I was getting a soft spot or a pain point there for you, but I apologize.
Then let's go ahead and start looking through traits.
If you are unfamiliar with traits in the outer worlds, of course we just watch some stuff from it.
The way it's going to work is that you pick a positive trait to start off your character.
You have the option to pick two positive traits, but then that does give you a negative trait you'd have to pick.
So we're going to go through all the positive traits, kind of figure out what we want to do there,
and then we'll look at what the negative traits would become if that makes sense.
Okay.
So for now, Barrett Toffs are the first one.
We are looking at them.
Yeah, this one, you're right.
Sorry, I did this.
I'm very, by the way,
I don't know if you,
the Mighty Silver says,
I love these kinds of games guys.
I'm having so much fucking funer right now.
I've been saying for a long time,
me and Barrett should break away or just fire everybody.
And it's just me and Barry and we do the shows like this.
But I'm having a great time.
I hope you are too.
This will probably do dog shoot numbers.
So tell your friends,
put it up on the Outer Worlds two subreddit, you know,
Put it up on the Lee Everett subreddit, too.
Get some people out.
It'll probably do dog shit.
We should leave and do it all the time.
Well, there's just two of us, bear.
We'd have to make less money.
It'd be fine.
That's what's fucking killing us over here.
You know what I mean?
Jesus.
Anyways.
So anyways, yeah, I will go through all.
It's hard for you to go back.
I guess I don't need you to.
Yeah, okay, great.
Perfect.
So we'll do the first three here.
We're starting with Brony.
And I'm not locking them in.
I'm just reading through them.
Okay.
Brony, you're able to perform great feet
of strength. In combat, you're an unstoppable force. What this goes to is sliding or sprinting
into hostiles. We'll knock them down. It has a cool down of five seconds. Obviously, as you make
these choices, you saw them earlier, maybe saw them earlier, of, you know, you'll see different
interactions in the environment. When you get to what kind of skills and your points and all that
jazz, it'll equate differently, but top level, this is what it looks like. Next one would be
brilliant. You're intelligent, able to easily solve problems and more easily pick up new skills.
And there you go. During skill selection, specialize in one additional skill. Specialized skills start with two points.
So there's a buff there I like already. Heroic. Others tend to naturally follow and look up to you. And then it says what this one would give you is a negative 20% companion ability charge time. So my companions are doing their shit faster, which is interesting. And I never roll alone. I always think about it, but I never do. I always end up with a whole much different stuff. Big mistake says, I heard mixed things about the first game. Was it good, chat? It was good, big mistake.
Check out the review we did this year of it as we re-reviewed it.
Jump me over to the next screenshot, which will start with innovative.
Innovative.
You are inventive and crafty, always able to find unique solutions to complex problems.
You found numerous ways to be more efficient when crafting.
And this equates to crafting recipes for ammo, throwables, and resource create up to twice as many of those items for the same amount of crafting materials.
Next is lucky.
You're lucky.
Things tend to go your way.
This is a plus five critical chance, certain opportunity.
are just accessible to you.
And then nimble.
You're quick and dexterous,
able to move more quickly
while stealthing and in combat.
And so then it's plus 25
crowd speed, plus 25 combat
sprint speed.
You want to go to the next one for me?
Resilient. You can power
through even the deadliest of injuries.
It requires more than usual to take you
down in combat.
Death is prevented by three,
I'm sorry, death is prevented for three seconds,
first time you would have died each combat.
Next is suave.
You have a way with words, getting your discounted vendors and talking your way out of minor
crimes.
10% discount at all vendors and bounty must be two times higher than normal to be seen
as an outlaw.
Next is witty.
Your fun demeanor and quick wit makes you popular with others.
Others are willing to forgive your past transgressions.
Reputation with any, and this means reputation with any faction can never, you can never
decrease below neutral, preventing any penalties that would be gained from having a negative
reputation with a faction such as vendor discounts.
Okay.
While we're here, if we want, Barrett, we can jump to the next slide, but I will have to
make you go back.
The next one here is talking about negative traits.
So if we pick two of the positive traits I've just said for you, we'd have to
confirm one negative trait, which would either be abrasive.
You're hard on the ears and people don't like talking to you.
Others have a hard time accepting you and their community.
communities and organizations.
This would mean reputation with any faction can never increase above neutral,
preventing any bonuses that would be gained from having a positive reputation with a faction,
such as a vendor discount.
Your next possible negative trait would be dumb.
You weren't recruited for your ability to plan or solve problems.
You just can't learn some things.
This would mean during skill selection, lock five of the 12 available skills.
Those skills can never have points added to them.
Yow.
And then finally would be sickly.
Your body is weak, prone to breaks and scrapes and illness.
Injuries and crashing from primers can be more likely.
You'd lose 15% of your base health and 15 toxicity crash threshold.
If you haven't been paying attention to all of our previews and the world's previews of outer worlds too.
One of the things they're doing here is in the outer worlds, you basically huff medicine when you need to get healthy, right?
So you have all these injectors that, and the old game had a cool down on them.
this time around you have them
but they're giving you
a debuff toxicity thing where if you do them
too fast you're going to start poisoning yourself
and get addicted I think maybe I might be confusing
it but it's like you either get addicted or maybe
you do maybe it's both and then you get poisoned or whatever
but you can't just be huffing the health
all the time
okay
so now we start going through and figure out what we're doing
immediately we got the good and we've got the questionable
we got Stevie Rogers good
Lee Everett questionable
I'm drawn and I know this is
what they'd be making me do or what they want me to be doing. I'm drawn to heroic for Stevie,
right? Others tend to naturally follow and look up to you, uh, negative 20 companion ability charge
time. That I'm, I'm thinking of Captain America. I'm thinking of Stevie Rogers. I'm thinking of
being the lawbringer. I'm thinking of having this, right? Chat over here is interesting. A lot of
people are jumping in with brilliant. And maybe they're talking about other things. Maybe it's
Oh, okay, no, jumps is talking about other things.
So for sure, heroic.
Like, brawny, or you're able to perform great feats of strength in combat, you're an unstoppable force.
I know that I will not be a melee person.
I want to say in this Outer Worlds 2 play-through, I'm sorry, Outer Worlds, one, re-review we just did.
I focused on melee, and I did not enjoy it as much as gunplay.
And from what I've played here, the guns are great.
I kind of like, God, they got a lot of good stuff here.
Like, I like Lucky.
you're lucky things tend to go your way critical certain opportunities just accessible to you i feel like
again that's a good questionable character trait i feel like you see no for me i mean i'll i'll
spoil question before you we're picking suave we're locking suave in for sure right you have a way
with word oh wait maybe i think of witty like i no swabs got the little hat i like the little hat
you have a way with words getting discounts of enders and talking your way out of minor crimes
like i feel like my here's here's i already know what's going to happen in a lot of different
ways, all right? Lee Everett is going to be my favorite character. I like doing the assassins.
I like doing the sneaks. That's what we're going to be doing as a questionable person.
Sneaking around, doing the jazz, talking. I love speeching. I love speechcraft coming out and
talking about, oh my God. So that's what Lee Everett's going to be doing. Lee Everett, I see again,
is very much like, not a wiry person, but like going to be a small lady, not about the fighting,
about the talking about this trying to get in and out like swa i'm locking it i'm putting it down
already now we can always do too because witty sounds pretty great too for her your fun demeanor
and quick way to make you popular with others others are willing to forgive your past transgressions
reputation with any factor can be decreased below neutral so wait a second i like where this is going
we're jumping over here right we're locking in suave and again i like witty because again i want to be a
talkie talkie talker right i want to be talky talky talky now of course what did i just say about her
she's not about the fighting she's going to be about being and i i said
wiry i said small or whatever but then they got this sickly thing maybe i lock in two
with her maybe i lock in suave and witty again oh yeah so then i go back this i'm sorry can you just
go back to where swave and whitty were up there sorry barrett you're doing the right thing you're
right there with me and i guess i could actually just read off my thing but yours is bigger your text is bigger
over here and yours is bigger barred swoff you have a way with words getting you discounts of
vendors talking your way out of minor crimes 10% discounted all vendors
Bounty must be two times higher than to be seen as an outlaw,
which again, I think is going to be helpful for her being questionable.
Witty, your fun demeanor and quick wit makes you popular with others.
Others are willing to forgive your past transgressions.
Enemy, I'm sorry, reputation of a faction can ever go below neutral,
preventing any penalties that would be gained for having a negative.
I'm doing it.
I'm locking in.
We're doing suave and witty.
We've hit the accept button on that one there for traits,
which then means we have to confirm a negative trait.
Again, abrasive.
You're hard in the ears.
People don't like talking.
to you.
Dumb, you weren't recruited for your ability to plan or problem solving.
Sickly.
Your body is weak, prone to break scrapes and illnesses.
Injuries and crashing from primers are more likely.
I think we got to go sickly, right?
I just talked to you all.
Lee Everett crawling through the air ducts, being very quiet,
stabbing people in the back, right?
She's a lover, not a fighter.
She's not getting out there in the same way.
And I think this will be a nice comparison then to the one and only Stevie Rogers,
who's going to be more rah-rah,
snoo-stoo from
Futurama, right?
Like, I see Stevie Rogers as, you know,
the blonde hair, the big
I'm Earth directorate, that's great.
And then Lee Ever, a slimy little shit.
Right? So it's like,
that works out well. Okay.
So then we've locked it in for Lee Everett,
our questionable character, an ex-convict,
who's suave, witty, and sickly now.
That'll be the negative one.
She has to take on.
Now we go back to Stevie Rogers, though.
Again, heroic is the one that speaks to me here.
I like Lucky because I consider Captain America, Steve Rogers, to be lucky.
Obviously beforehand, no.
He was very scrawny.
He got beat up in the alley behind the movie theater.
Spoilers for the film.
Spoilers.
So I like Lucky, but I don't think that's where we need to be.
Innovative crafting, I don't give a shit.
Fuck that.
Nimble, that would have been a good one, I feel, for.
In theory, nimble would have been one.
you're quick on dexteris, able to move
stealthy in combat.
That'd be great for
a blanket.
I'm making an assassin.
I'm making a rogue.
But we're making Lee Everett.
And Lee Everett is just a slimy little shit.
You know what I mean?
She's bent through it.
She's ready to go.
Brilliant.
I don't feel like is Steve Roger.
Is the Stevie Rogers move?
Bronny could be, though.
Again,
fuck.
Here we go.
Now we're into it.
Because again, I'm trying to forget everything I know.
And so I'm coming in, though,
and I'm saying, oh, I'm making Stevie Rogers
as Captain America type. And so I want to go to
the heroic thing, but Bronny would work. And I already just told
you, I'm expecting her to be
a fucking brick shit house.
You know what I mean? Like, she's going to be
looking like post-super
super serum. So maybe she needs
to be Bronny. You're able to perform
great feats of strength in combat. You're unstoppable.
Sliding or sprinting into hostiles will knock them
down. So again... That's also calling out
resilient. Yeah.
I read it initially as I'm
beaten shit up with the big hammer, which I don't want to do.
give me a big shield different story.
I'm going to do Brony.
Heroic also works,
but I feel like,
yeah,
I feel like we're going to go here.
It's Chrome Akira says,
so is this screenshots they're going off of
that they just got,
just making a character Greg is going to play us?
Exactly, you nailed it.
These are screenshots sent over.
By the way,
shout out to Xbox and Obsidian
for sending over all these.
I had some from my creating a character
in the previews,
and then I had this idea
way after the preview period ended and I was like hey can you send them over they said yes and here
we go so all right we're locking this in as brawny because now we're seeing it now we're we're no
longer we're seeing it just fucking brick shit house stevie rogers slimy little wiry shit
lee everett okay I don't feel like doing two here I know I could do two here but I don't I don't
want to deal with the negative traits here I don't want to be abrasive I don't want to be
It'd be funny, I understand.
But in sickly, that's Steve, Steve E before this year.
Okay, okay.
Nitrogen mustard says, yeah, this is awesome.
Thanks for doing this.
Thank you for hanging out.
Thanks for doing this.
So now we're ready to move on to skills.
Now, here's where I will be honest with you.
We're at a detriment.
Let me check my email.
I pulled all this shit together last night because I'm awesome when I was getting ready for everything.
I'm like, yeah, this is going to be great content.
I don't know how many skill points we have to use when we start the game.
So I can't sit here and tell you.
you, I want to put this many skill points into things, but I think going through and probably
picking two skills to double down on or like put more into makes more sense for where I'm at
right now. If that makes sense to you. Does that make sense to you, Barrett? Am I making sense?
Absolutely not. Oh, Barrett. No, no Bear Bear, don't do this to me. Okay, so let's start going
into the skill pages I have here, all right? Because there's lots of skills to go through. So I'm going to
read through and tell you what's going on so we can start figuring out. Engineering. Mechanical
systems with a difficulty at or below your skill level can be fixed.
And this is also a plus one damage resistance.
The description reads as,
The engineering skill increases the effectiveness of all armor, granting inherent damage
reduction.
In conversations and while exploring, engineering aids in the ability to act on the
knowledge of mechanical systems.
Investing in engineering allows you to select perks that further increase your defense
and benefits from weapon, helmet, and armor mods.
For every level of engineering, I read that part.
I should save that for the end from the future.
Move me on to explosives, Barrett.
Explosives.
The explosive skill increases damage dealt with explosive throwables such as grenades and mines.
While exploring, it allows the disarming of sensitive objects and mines in traps.
Investing in explosives allows you to select perks that increase the potency of explosives and plasma weapons.
For every level of explosives, plus 10 explosive damage, plus one damage resistance against explosives.
Chiming in here, as I should have been going for, engineering explosives, throwing.
them the fuck out. Neither of these characters are playing with that.
I don't feel like, right? Give me guns.
The guns skill increases damage dealt with all types of guns,
including ballistic, shock, plasma, and
bioguns. Investing in the gun skill allows you to select perks
that further improve your ability
to use guns of various types.
For every level of guns, plus one range damage, plus one
armor penetration. I'm on my
list here, I'm going to put here in my
possible. All right. This
is possible for Stevie
Richards. I feel like guns. She's trained. She knows what's up. She's going to be a part of that.
I wrote good. That's not what I need. Guns. Thanks, Greg. Make the brain work. Let's move on to hack.
Now again, I'll toss this out here. I'm trying to forget everything I know. I love hacking in
video games. So immediately I want to toss that onto Lee Everett. I'm going to put my possible
category here. Okay. I'm going to put hack. But I'm not sure if that's actually what she would do or
if it's just me trying to make a rogue.
The hack skill allows
unauthorized access to various mechanical systems
such as terminals, auto mechanicals, and
vending machines. Investing in the hack
skill allows you to select perks that let
you disable automex directly, hack
into bounty terminals, and access the restricted
inventory of vending machines.
For every level of hack, a hack
checks equal to your hack skill
and lower can be overcome. Plus 10%
damage to auto mechanical.
Does sound,
that does sound like what I, what I
envisioning lead to be, but we'll keep going.
Leadership.
Leadership.
The leadership skill increases the damage and survivability of your companions.
Investing in leadership allows you to select perks that let you use companion abilities
more and improve the overall effectiveness of your companions.
For every level of leadership, plus 10 companion damage, plus 10 companion health.
Nah, we're not doing this.
No leadership.
We're not worrying about that one.
Next for me, Bear.
Lock pick, again, check it at the door.
but this would sound like a Stevie one.
The lock pick skill allows you to unlock locked
locked containers and doors.
Investing in the lock pick skill allows you to select
perks that grant the ability to pick pocket
humans and preview the contents
of locked containers.
For every level of lock pick, locks with a
difficulty at or below your current skill level
can be opened plus one evasion chance.
We're putting that on there.
We're putting that on the possible,
possible for questionable Lee Everett.
Melee.
I can already tell you, neither of these characters.
are going to use it, but I'll read it for you.
The melee skill increases damage dealt by melee weapons.
Investing in the melee skill allows you to select perks that further improve your ability
to use melee weapons of various types.
For every level of melee plus 10 melee damage and minus 2.5% damage received while blocking.
Good on you.
This ain't the fucking thing for me.
I appreciate that.
Unless there's a shield that you can throw around the Captain America, but I don't
think there's going to be and I'm not going to bet a whole fucking character on it.
Medical.
The medical skill increases maximum toxicity, allowing more use.
of the medical inhaler at a time
and increased resistance to
ziranium poisoning.
Investing in the medical skill allows you to select
perks that further improve your inhaler,
temporarily tame creatures, and
make better use of corrosive weapons.
For every level of medical, plus
seven toxicity crash threshold, plus
10 damage to creatures.
We're putting that as a possible on
Lee Everett again.
Lee Everett is sickly.
Lee Everett would know that she needs to be trying to
offset the inherent damage
of sickliness, okay?
Move me to observation.
Observation.
The observation skill
reveals hidden objects
in the world
and suitable behaviors
and conversations.
Investing in the observation
skill allows you to select
perks that lets you
find more loot,
track enemies,
and more effectively
use enemy weak spots.
For every level
of observation,
hidden objects with a difficulty
at or below your skill level
can be found,
plus 15% weak shot damage.
Come on.
I'm putting that on here too.
observation for questionable Lee Everett
She would need to know people's weaknesses
You can already tell Lee's my favorite child
You can already see Lees my favorite child
We're going to keep working on it
I have four possible for Lee Everett
I have won for fucking Stevie Rogers
Bear let me see what's up next
Science
The science skill increases your maximum
gadget and energy
Allowing you to use gadgets like tactical dime
dilation for longer
Investing in the science skill allows you to select perks
that further improve your gadgets and potency with shock weapons.
For every level of science, plus seven gadget energy meter max,
plus 10 more stacks of non-physical damage type side effects.
This would be helpful to Lee,
and I could see as time goes on investing points in there,
but out the gate, I'm not going to be doing that.
We're not going to be doing that.
You move me to sneak.
Oh, shit.
Sneak.
The sneak scale makes it harder for enemies to detect you while crouched.
Investing in the sneak skill allows,
you to select perks that avoid traps and perform sneak attacks for every level of sneak
uh plus 35% uh right wow plus 35% sneak attack damage uh minus 2.5% NPC awareness detection rate fuck
now we're in trouble because again I'm not even right now we're looking on the easiest
way to get through what all the skills were was to look on it on the dumb section so this is
like we're not actually picking the dumb thing but it's where we I don't know
know how many points we're going to get. Oh, fuck. And up next to speech, hit me with speech.
Fuck. The speech skill allows you to better influence others in conversation. Investing in the
speech skill always allows you to select perks that let you get discounted vendors, intimidate
others, and gain more reputation with factions. For every level of speech, speech checks with
the difficulty at or below your skill level can be selected, plus 10% damage to humans. Listen,
obviously one that would benefit my slimy little shit, Stevie. But I'm going to put it on
I'm sorry, the other way around.
My slamming little shit, Lee.
I'm going to put it on Steve.
Because Steve Rogers, Captain America, very inspiring, right?
And the intimidate, sure, but the reputations and things,
the discounts could work well for Steve.
The speech buffs could work well for Steve.
Stevie.
What's next, Bear?
Oh, kind of funny games daily.
Don't forget this, episode 2000.
Okay, okay.
Then again, this gets pretty simple then for launching Stevie Rogers.
Stevie Rogers, a lock at the moment.
You're going to be a lawbringer, going to be brawny,
and then the skills I'm going to invest in are guns and speech.
I like that.
I like that.
I don't see anything else I need to, I mean, again,
as you play the game and I run into things,
I'm like, oh, well, Stevie should do this, but she can't do that,
so I should be putting points in there.
That's a whole conversation.
But for starting the game, that's what I'm going to focus on for Stevie.
Let's get back to Lee Everett,
ex-convick, suave and witty,
but that makes her sickly.
Again, now we have the possible ones I put here.
Got it.
On my hand,
you know,
once they introduced computers,
just out the door here on what's going on with your handwriting, right?
Because the first one,
it looks like I wrote attack,
which is not,
so I had lock pick.
Oh, hack,
attack,
everybody.
That's NAC.
Don't worry about me.
So the possible ones I have are hack,
lock picks,
medical, observation, sneak,
and then speak, speech.
That's right.
It's easy for me to run through my stuff.
I'm going to cross off speech.
Ah, speech.
Speech checks with difficulty.
You can do this, 10%.
The way they're using speech,
discounted vendors, intimidate others,
and gain more reputation with factions.
Again, I think,
but she's suave.
Fuck.
And again, how many points will I have?
Here's what we're going to do immediately, all right?
because we have the points
they're going to be limited.
I'm knocking medical off my possible list.
I think it makes sense
in a medical sense.
If she's sickly, she needs the medicine
to do this thing, but I don't got time for it.
I just don't have time.
I don't want to waste putting my points in there to start.
Then you're down to hack, lock, picks,
observation, sneak, and speech.
Oh, man.
Observation.
It reveals hidden objects in the world,
subtle behaviors and conversation.
Investing on observation allows you to select.
perks that find more loot track enemies and more effectively use enemy weak spots.
I'm locking an observation.
I think, again, forget everything I know.
I'm not coming in here saying, hey, this is what I need to let, I need to let the character
become.
I need to let the character become.
Nitrogen says speech fits with Lee, but it could really make your character too siloed
in the skills.
But that's part of the joy of this game and where I think they're going is I think really
committing. I don't want to, I don't want to go middle of the road. I don't want to water this down.
Where I feel like actually committing to a thing and like this is what the character does
is going to make for a more entertaining experience rather than well, maybe I should back off this
and I should go do this way and blah blah. I think sneaks a must.
Sneak makes harder for the enemies that detect you while crouched. Investing in sneak skill allows
you to select perks that avoid traps and perform sneak attacks. Plus 35 sneak attack damage
minus 2.5 awareness detection rate.
I got to do that.
Again, we've talked about,
especially if I'm dodging the medical stuff,
she is a slippery little shit,
she is an ex-con,
she wants to eventually sneak off
and not be a part of this,
she's sickly.
She needs to be doing that.
So observation and sneak are the ones
I'm for sure investing in.
I think I got to say goodbye to hack.
Lock picks I like because I feel like
ex-con, you're picking your,
you know what I mean,
picking your, I'm doing handcuffs
if you're an audio listener, or I'm just shaking my Maracas.
But again, I
kind of talked to myself into putting speech on there as well.
The speech skill allows you to better influence others in conversation.
I got to do it because I put suave, right?
What was the fucking description of suave?
Swave.
You have a way with words getting your discounts at vendors
and talking your way out of minor crimes.
10% discount on all vendors and bounty hunts must be too.
like I just feel like
she's talking her way out of shit.
All right, I'm doing it.
I'm forgetting my starting ones.
And again,
I'm not crossing off lock picks.
I am highlighting observations,
sneak and speech
so that I can know
put a lot of stuff in there.
Again,
how many points do I get?
I don't know.
I'd email the Xbox,
but I haven't got a response yet.
I'm leaving lockpicks there
because if I have a bevy of points,
just float them in there
and do the whole thing.
Okay.
It's done.
my questionable character is Lee Everett.
She's an ex-convic.
She's suave and witty,
which will mean she's sickly.
We'll be investing our points into observation,
sneak, and speech.
Maybe with lockpicks.
We'll see how many we get.
Stevie Rogers, a lawbringer.
She's brawny.
And she's going to be putting her points into guns and speech.
Now, I like speeches in both of those,
but again, I think they'll be used in different ways.
I don't see Lee Everett being intimidating.
I guess intimidating with the threat of violence for sure.
Something I had anticipated as we land this episode again is like,
do I need a mood board for what these characters look like?
Hold on.
That's not what I.
Okay, do I need it?
Because I'm trying to think like when I sit down,
will it help me to vision,
I don't want to be hung up on it.
I don't want to make,
because again,
when I sit there and I'm like,
oh,
you got to be,
you got to look exactly like this.
Because who,
you want to know?
you want to fucking know
I'm trying to find
I don't want to just throw it out there until I'm
oh hey blah maybe this help me maybe this help me
hold on maybe this is going to help me
maybe it helps me
everybody make conversation amongst yourself
for two seconds because I'm envisioning
an actress
looking a certain way and then all the descriptions
I'm putting on there are not
coming on
Barrett what I
Barrett here's where I'm thinking
Lee Everett a question
character ex-conswave,
Woody Sickly.
Please don't take offense to this in any way.
I'm thinking a Rachel Lee
Cook, but like emo or
goth. You know what I mean? Like that's what I'm
looking for. But all I'm fine, this is
you know, Rachel Lee Cook from like Josie and the Pussycats.
Like I'm, like, she's all that.
Like I'm, right? She's all that. Yeah, she was
in a little she's like. Like, I'm looking for
something like that. But like, you know,
gothic. Hey, you know,
like, eyeliner. I don't know.
Emo. She's hanging out with a fucking newfound
Goy. I just love that, like, your first
the first person to come to mind which Rachel Lee Cook.
Hey man.
Fuck you're old.
Who else is the new?
Who is the new?
Goth.
She's not even goth ever.
I don't know.
That's what I'm looking at.
The drug commercial.
That's why it's happening nine toe bill.
Fuck.
Thank you.
Barrett.
Rachel Lee Cook,
you on drugs.
That's it.
That's it.
We figured it out.
Rachel Lee Cook drugs.
that's it.
That's your brain on drugs.
Fuck yeah.
That's why I'm thinking of it.
Fuck, man.
Yeah,
this is what I'm thinking.
Yeah,
Barrett,
I'm slam it into assets.
That's the,
that's the most recent one.
Go to the old one.
Yeah,
look right underneath it.
Yeah.
The tanks,
she doesn't look goth,
I get it,
but it's black and white.
You can see why.
You know, she's like,
all rock type of hair.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, Jenna Ortega says X-Dansky.
That would have been a better one.
Jenna Ortega, but with this cut.
Okay.
Okay.
We got some stuff here.
We got a mood board going.
Barrett.
Print me a photo of Rachel Lee Cook for the drug ad.
Absolutely not.
One of Jen Ortega.
That's the mood board right there.
That's the mood board over there.
Now we, just Stevie Rogers.
Who my, who?
I think this is an easy one.
Tell me.
Lay it on me.
Stevie Nix.
Here's my thing is, again, that was in my head starting.
but we've gone the, remember, I'm now thinking of
the way I've described Stevie Rogers,
brawny, I talked about being built like a brick shit house.
I'm thinking now Maya Lesnar.
You ever seen her?
Brock Lesnar's daughter.
What's her name again?
Maya, M-Y-A-L-E-S-N-A-R.
And again, not making her specifically,
but in terms of like, I'm thinking of like
Wonder Woman, but blonde to be like Captain America.
you know what I mean
like but again I guess
this is probably a bridge too far
because Maya Lesnar I think would
would serve so well
to being a melee
I'm gonna go fucking crush
oh Gwendolyn Christie that's not bad
that's not bad
now nitrogen mustard says
blonde Natalie Portman
I know Natalie Portman from several
different films I I need a more
jacked woman than Natalie Portman
I remember she was
was also Lady Thor.
She was also.
She was also Lady Thor.
You're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right.
Yeah, Perch is 56, Zina Warrior Princess.
See, you're right there with me of who I'm looking for.
Roads Runner, Greg is looking for a muscle mommy belt.
Yeah, again, yeah.
She didn't really get buff for this.
Yeah, exactly.
That's my thing.
But again, I'm probably too hung up on the buffness.
I am thinking of Hemsworth, but I'm probably too hung up.
I guess I need...
I'm thinking of, yeah, like Wonder Woman.
You know what I mean?
Like Diana is always,
is tall, broad,
shouldered kebopsis,
Stella Chung.
Not a bad big.
Glant Cassandra, essentially.
Yeah, but it's boring.
I mean,
yes,
you are right,
and that's what I'm doing,
but I can't think of it.
I'm trying to think of an actual person.
Jade Cargill,
that's not bad.
Tiffany Stratton, not bad.
Ria Ripley.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I guess I have it.
A blonde woman.
Wonder Woman, that's pretty easy.
Oh.
Okay.
Raven Buffalo Chief.
Yvonne Scherhouski.
Miranda from Mass Effect.
Again, Jack's, no,
but extremely good shape,
powerful, tall,
broad shoulders.
We're in there.
We got it.
We got it.
I'm just going to write blonde Wonder Woman for Stevie,
Roger.
Of course, I could have put
female Captain America,
but I am biased to DC as you all know.
Ladies, gentlemen, and NBs,
this has been another episode of the Kind of Funny Games cast.
I loved it.
I hope you did, a few people who watched it.
Of course, we have just built two characters to recap
my Outer Worlds two characters
now that we are one month away from the Outer Worlds 2.
My good character is going to be Stevie Rogers,
a blonde Wonder Woman.
She's a lawbringer as her background.
She is brawny as her perk.
You all right?
her or skill, whatever.
And then it's going to be putting skill points
into guns and speech.
Probably could have figured that out
if I would have thought two more seconds.
My questionable character is Lee Everett.
She will look like Rachel Lee Cook
on drugs ad.
She's an ex-convict.
She's swabby, winning, and she's a bit sickly.
And see, the sickly thing,
Rachel Lee Cook, although
looks gorgeous, look sickly in the drugs ad.
So you understand why that's, thank you.
What a pull. My mind is your mind,
chat for having me on that one.
We're going to be putting,
We're going to be prioritizing three different skills, observation, sneak, and speech as we get out there.
And then we'll figure it out.
Again, we're not getting into perks because you don't pick your perks at least it looks like in the characters select.
I think that comes as you level up.
I'm very interested in the assassin one and the serial killer one, which is what we heard about in the direct we watched early a long time ago, an hour ago.
So I'm excited.
Thank you for doing this exercise with me.
This has been a fun one.
I'd like more feedback on what you liked, what you didn't like.
