What's up everybody?
Welcome to the episode one of the one and only Witcher cast.
I'm one of your host, Greg Miller, alongside by Set Pothby.
Blessing Eddie Oye, Jr.
Good day, Greg.
Do you also hear that?
I took these headphones off as soon as it went.
I can hear myself, and that's going to make me talk like a psychopath.
So I will need advice from the directors on how to stop from hearing myself,
or we will go to the dogs immediately.
But I need to put the headphones on to say hello to the best voice in the business.
Paris Lilly.
Well, I liked right before we went live, we were setting all this up,
and we were like, well, hold on, Paris, are you coming through the right mic?
You sound like you're far away.
And you went like, this was just set up.
and I remember this so well from COVID,
where everything would be set up exactly the way you'd want it,
and then sure is shit, the next day for no reason,
something's completely different.
Now, Paris is muted, they're saying as well,
if you're just joining us here on the Kind of Funny Games cast,
the first ever, Witcher cast,
we are prepping for Top 100,
if you didn't know, October 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th,
and 16th, we are opening the doors of the Kind of Funny Studio
and running through our top 100 games of all time,
20 games at a time
in front of a live studio audience.
Every day we do that and then we do a huge meet and greet.
Of course, if you're not here in San Francisco,
you can watch live on YouTube.com slash
kind of funny games and Twitch.tv.tv.com slash kind of funny games.
But what it means right now, of course, is we prepare
to welcome hundreds of kind of funny best friends to San Francisco and the studio.
The studio is being prepped.
Today is a day where they are tearing things apart, moving things around,
getting it ready so we can host hundreds of people inside of it.
Meaning that this entire week, we are from the lab,
which is great for, you know, all the times.
But sometimes just these little things where Paris is dialing.
Paris, can they hear you now?
And you hear me now.
Let's see.
I imagine they can.
It does me well to see you and be on a show with you, Paris.
I miss you.
Yeah, I miss you too.
Are you going to come visit San Francisco soon?
Yeah, I'm actually going to come visit San Francisco next week.
I'll be in studio.
Yes, Paris will be in studio two days next week.
We can't wait.
But we have been unable to wait for this episode of the Kind of Funny Games cast.
Our first of four Witcher casts, everybody,
because Buss and I have been talking a big game with the Witcher 3rd
three remastered coming up. We said, you know what? We're doing it. We're jumping in. We are
going to do the impossible and finally play through and see credits in The Witcher 3.
I don't know if you know this. Yeah. I did not know this. I'm shocked actually, but I'm excited
to you guys talk about it now. We are going to get into all of it, of course, yeah, because
tomorrow the Witcher 3, of course, remastered comes out for everybody featuring a whole bunch
of different improvements. We've already been playing it and then each and every Wednesday from here
run out, not this Wednesday because this is
not top 100 a week, but you get the picture
blessing myself, and a cavalcade
of guests will be checking in on our
month-long journey with the Witcher 3 and seeing how
far we can get what's going on if it's
hooks get us and where we can stay. Because

we're ready to hear it from you.
Thank you, of course, to our producers on patreon.com slash kind of funny.
We couldn't do without Omega Buster, Delaney the Somp-twining, and Michael Pezavento.
For now, let's begin the show with what is and forever will be topic of the show.
Tots, tuts, tuts, tuts, tuts.
A Witcher Wednesday on a Monday, we had to do it blessed,
because, of course, the review embargo is popping off right now for the Witcher remaster.
Blessing, here's where I want to start.
Yeah.
Why?
Why are we doing this?
Why now?
Why do you feel this is the time for the Wishar 3 and you?
I think for me this is the time because Witcher 3 is a game that you hear about constantly.
If you're somebody who likes RPGs, if you're somebody who likes fantasy games,
I think Witcher is up there with the Skyrims or the Baldur's Gate 3s or the best Dragon Age you can name.
I don't know which one people would say.
Dragon Age?
Two?
Dragon League.
I didn't like any room to Vail Gar, so no, ask me.
But Witcher 3 is one of them ones, right?
It's one of those games that you talk about as one of the best fantasy RPGs,
one of the best RPGs, and it's been a little bit over a decade since the Witcher 3.
And I think with them launching the remaster, it gives a perfect moment for us, the hype,
the state of the game.
This is the most up-to-date version of this that we can possibly check out to date.
And so, I don't know.
For me, I had an excitement of going back and playing this game that I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
I won't say I missed when it came out because I mentioned this before.
I got all the way to where they asked me to find Daneline, and I just never found it.
Which I still feel isn't that far.
No, well, it's funny because in my play-through, to spoil a little bit of it, I'm almost there.
Yeah.
I'm almost to Novagrad.
And I'm like, oh, wow, okay, I must have played maybe 20 hours or something like that,
which is still a big chunk of time.
But for The Witcher 3, such an expansive RPG.
Definitely just feels like I'm taking a bite of the apple.
Yeah, of course, I imagine if you're here listening to this games cast, you know about the Witcher 3,
but I always take it for granted that maybe not everybody does.
So I'll remind you.
And also, this is the first time we're doing the Witcher cast, Paris.
Okay, the first time.
So there's a lot of new Witcher fans here.
We need to have a quick moment as we launched this mini podcast within a podcast.
Okay.
I can't say Geralt's name right.
Gerald's.
I don't know what I'm doing differently, though.
This is not a joke.
This is not a bit.
It all sounds the same to me.
You said it right just then, I think.
Did I?
I've been trying really hard.
Every time it pops in the game, I'm listening.
intently. Gerald.
Gerald. Yeah. Gerald?
Yeah. I think you got it. You got it. Gerald. Gerald.
Now there's a Pondon wants me to say Garlt. Garlett. Garlett.
No, no, no, no. Gerald. Gerold. You got it. Okay, I've been trying really hard.
Your steam description for the Witcher 3 would read, you are Gerald of Rivia.
Mercenary, monster slayer. Before you stands a war-torn monster-infested continent, you can explore
it will. Your current contract tracking down Syria, the child of prophecy, a living weapon that can
alter the shape of the world. Of course, tomorrow the Witcher 3 remastered arrives. That's
September 29th, 2026. It has a metacritic right now of 94. Of course, the original landed
May 18th, 2015. It has a metacritic of 92. Obviously right now, very few reviews up for
remaster. We didn't get our code still Friday. I saw our friend, of course, Blue Thunder
Gaming putting up a whole bunch of videos today. He was saying that he's had it for about a week,
so I don't know how much longer they've had it or vice versa. But, but
But it doesn't matter in the long run because we're just talking about this game and journeying into it.
But where I wanted to jump from this conversation was, why now, what are we doing?
And I was shocked to go back to May 22, 2015, where we had done The Witcher 3 review kind of on Kind of Funny.
It wasn't a games cast.
We were putting it under the React label at that time.
Fascinating.
I don't know why.
Of course, 2015 is when we launched kind of funny games and went independent and did all that.
So there was also preview coverage in there.
There was stuff on the old morning shows about it.
But the Witcher 3 review from May 22nd, 2015, I went back and listened to because I feel like my journey with The Witcher 3 has been so interesting.
Where I am the open world action, adventure RPG guide, those are my games.
And Witcher 3 I've never rolled credits on.
And the story I've talked about so many times when it comes up is
I just got lost in the sauce of chasing question marks
and doing all these things and filling and getting points
and yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada and to even start this
Witcher 3 review kind of with Colin from 2015
I talk about how I love it and how it's under my skin
and it's all I can think about and it's all I want to do
but I hit on the point that was my problem with it back then
is that it's so much like kingdoms of amalur reckoning
And what I mean by that is I didn't give a shit about the story.
I didn't care.
I wasn't engrossed in being the character of Gerold.
Gerald.
You got it.
Continue because there's a conversation here.
100%.
And I mean, for the record, don't be wrong.
2015, Greg is wrong.
But I think I understand now it's very, this is, everybody stick with me.
It's very Pokemon.
And we'll get to that the second, right?
But it is the idea that I played 30 to 40 hours of it I always remember.
I took my PlayStation 4 to Momocon that year so I could play in the room,
me and Nick were sharing because we had to share hotel rooms back in the day.
And then, even then, there's a long play we put up on June 15th, 2015, where I'm level 21.
And it's just me for an hour playing the game.
And I watch some of it.
I'm so deep in it.
I remember nothing of what I'm doing in it.
And honestly, that was my problem is I just wasn't ever moored to the story or the characters.
It didn't get me.
And I also think, while crazy, even now, I should say even now,
Coming into the Witcher 3 remastered,
and I had started another Witcher play-thru at the beginning of this year.
I've come back over the years when I watched season one of this show.
They do such a better job of setting up a story here
and telling you what's happening and who you are than they did in 2015.
Where 2015, I really did feel like I was just this broad-shouldered guy with gray hair,
and I was like, I don't understand what the fuck's going on,
but I enjoy fighting everything.
Before you get to calling me out of my bullshit,
before we jump into that, Paris, it's time for you to talk.
Tell me about your Witcher experience.
So I've been there since day one, like you said, 2015.
I actually go back to The Witcher 2.
That was my entry point into it.
And it had like a lot of mods helped it.
It was kind of janky, the combat, which has been a common theme that even goes into the Witcher 3.
But that was my introduction to Geryl to Virgil, Dandelion, and Yenifer and Syria, like all of that.
So going into the Richard 3, I had a lot of familiarity with the characters in that world.
I actually didn't believe the Witcher 3 was a real thing.
When I first saw it, I guess it was 2013 at that Xbox showcase.
I'm like, there's no way they're pulling this off.
Come on, right?
And then to actually go behind closed doors, see that 45-minute demo.
It was like, wow, this is a real game.
The Witcher 3 was the game to get me to actually build a gaming PC at the time
because I wanted to play it in its best visual fidelity, right?
It launched with issues.
It had some, again, like I talk about the combat, they had to change some of the stuff
to the UI, things like that.
for more ease of use.
It is so fascinating for me,
and I even said it last week,
I'm jealous of anyone that is playing this now
for the first time with the remastered version
because this isn't their first attempt
to improve the game.
They actually did a big visual overhaul,
maybe what, three, four years ago.
There was something like that, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So they've done even more this time
and I'm sure we'll get into it.
But I'm a huge rich fan.
I've, I'm probably over 500 hours in this game.
at this point because I've done multiple play throughs of it.
I just connect with these characters,
this world, the story to the point that I mean,
like I'm excited for you Greg and blessing because like you mentioned,
Greg, you've not rolled credits.
You're now coming at in it at a point where sure,
you can roll credits on the main game,
but then there's probably another 50 hours of content
that you're gonna play between hearts of stone
and blood and blood and wine.
So you're kind of gonna get
that definitive experience leading into The Witcher 4.
So I love the game, huge fan.
Like I said, we'll get into it more.
I was up at 2 o'clock in the morning playing last night when I shouldn't have been
because there's other things I should be playing.
So yeah, like I said, I'm actually excited to hear about both of you and your experiences
with this.
Yeah, I think, you know, again, why this is happening.
The remaster makes it look like that's the easy answer.
Bless, I mean, at least speaking for myself and where this conversation originally
started with you and me, it really was that we were excited for some.
songs of the past, but at least me, I felt like I had no right to be.
Well, I've never touched, I think I might have touched hearts of stone, but I never did
blood and wine. And I know that everyone's like blood and wine is the best DLC of all time. It's
an entirely different game, or, you know, additional game and all stuff. And it's like,
I don't ever feel like I can jump right to those because I want to do everything beforehand
and I want to go. And again, similar to Pokemon, where I had played Pokemon and not ever
gotten it and not ever finished one. And then when Ben came around and we started watching,
the cartoon and I understood the world,
that gave me such a different appreciation
for the games and how I was coming at the wrong way.
That is exactly what happened with The Witcher
the TV show, season one, when it was dropping
like during COVID or right around COVID,
where me and Jen watched that and were obsessed with it.
And I re-downloaded The Witcher, and then I jumped in,
and that's when clunky combat and this, that, the other,
I was like, ah, this isn't exactly what I want to be doing right now
and I moved away.
But, bless, I know you wanted to take me to task for the story
and not caring in 2015.
Well, I think for me, it surprised me,
because the story is the thing that's kind of saving the experience for me right now.
During this playthrough?
Saving the experience.
Wow.
Yeah, because I still, I'm, as I'm playing this game, obviously they have fixed things since that original version, and I remember playing that original version.
I still don't think the combat's amazing.
I still don't love...
Actually, I won't say that I don't love the moment-to-moment exploring the world, because the world is beautiful, and I'll talk about it during this episode that I am in photo mode constantly.
I am taking so many screenshots in this game.
It is really gorgeous, what they've been able to do with this really beautiful.
But I think the writing is such a highlight in this experience compared to any other action
RPG that I'll play.
I think there's a level of character here, especially when I look at Gerold is a main
character.
I was thinking about this during my play through.
Gerald might be one of, if not maybe like the best playable character I can remember in
an RPG.
And I think a big part of that is that one, he is an actual character.
It's not just you are making an avatar and making a little.
the choices for him.
He is an actual character, but then also,
the choices that you're given during these quests and these side quests,
feel,
like,
I don't feel like there's a wrong choice.
Even when I'm making a choice that feels like you're unleashing an evil,
or you're damning somebody,
or,
you know,
there's a quest where it's a very simple one of,
hey,
go around and get into these fighting rings and fistfight people.
And one of the first ones I run into,
he's like,
hey, dude, can you just take the loss so I can get this money,
I need it, whatever.
And I'm like,
no, I'm not going to take the loss.
I'm going to beat you up. I'm going to take the money.
I'm going to beat your ass. And in
so many RPGs you would get like the
all right, you made a bad decision, now you're leaning
towards evil. For Wizard 3,
I love how much I can go back and forth
depending on the scenario because
Gerald is such a
he's such a character
that has been made so that
at one point you can see him having an opinion
on something, but on the other point,
in a different quest you can see him being like, actually no,
I'm in this for myself. And I think that makes it a
fascinating character to be playable, because you just, there are so many decisions to make in this game,
and I feel so free to make whatever one that I want, if that makes sense.
It totally makes sense, and I think, again, like, it's something that a freedom of choice
and not having the history of which are two or which are one, like, not knowing the character
and jumping in, it was so broad that I think I misinterpreted it the first time around.
And after seeing the show and understanding, oh, like, even though it just, with the description I just
Red called him a monster mercenary for hire, right?
I feel like that there was so much going on where we had the guys in black running in,
you know, the wild hunt chain.
They were a way bigger deal in the, in promotion of the first time we came in this game.
But jumping in there and having that thing of like when it is, oh man, like, I like, he talks
about being paid, not in a scummy way.
Usually in these kind of RPGs, when you're like, well, let's talk about my fee.
It's like, oh, you're a prick.
You're bending him over a barrel.
And you could do that here with a haggling.
But this one really is like, no, this is what I do for life.
So we got to talk about this.
or you give somebody a pass,
but then it's like,
well, if you give them the past,
why am I giving every the past?
Yeah.
Now, this guy's daughter turned to go on.
I'm haggling every single time.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, I'm here to do a job.
And that job takes me to very interesting places
and very interesting scenarios,
and I gave more context on certain characters.
And it's like, oh, well, now I am making a moral decision
once I'm this deep into a side quest.
But I think that's wonderful writing,
the fact that you get thrown into this
because your base level, you're a witcher.
You're a hunter for hire, essentially.
And that takes you down these journeys
that get really interesting and really cool.
I've seen you nodding non-stop, Paris.
Did you wrestle with any of these things?
Do you, where's your Gerald?
Yeah, I love the conversation that you're having
because at his core, like you said, he's a monster hunter.
This is what he does.
He takes contracts for coin.
But the thing about Gerald that makes him such a fascinating character
is his morality of, yes, this is what I'm supposed to do.
But kind of like you alluded to, Bless,
sometimes he picks and chooses when he takes coin,
when he wants to haggle and you do have some creative choice with that but i think even in in all the
choices that girl gets to make throughout this game is you may think you're doing the right thing
but there's going to be consequences as a result no matter what because i think as i would tell
anyone whenever i'm asked should i play the witcher is the thing i should get into i always say play
until you get to the bloody baron quest if you go through that that will answer your question
if this game is for you because if you're not hooked after that then it's just simply not a game for you and it's not a story that's going to engage you so
i i love the fact that there's just so many choices that you like i said you literally will not see the repercussions of it until
30 40 hours later in the game like oh man yeah damn this choice this was the after after effect of this
like i'll even just a slight spoiler there's a character you will meet
very early in the game that is literally the catalyst for hearts of stone and you don't even realize
it at the time yeah yeah yeah so again i won't spoil what it is but this is someone very early in the game
you meet you don't see again and then oh wait i meant this guy and talked to this guy and had a whole
conversation and choices with this guy and this is now the deal the first d lc the expansion
that you play so that's what i love about this this game in this world so much is it
never know what your initial choice, the decision you make, who you save, who you don't save
will matter later on in the game.
We should do like a spoiler section maybe toward the end because the last thing I just
wrapped up was the Bloody Baron quest.
What a quest.
And we got to talk about it.
It was my second time to do this quest, of course.
But playing through it again this time, I think I forgot in the last decade of not playing
the Witcher 3.
Yeah, yeah, why it's great.
Why it's great.
And just how much there is to that whole saga.
And re-experiencing it this time around,
I did have the thought of, man,
this might be one of the best written quests
in all the RPG.
I think that's hands down.
I remember that back in the day,
and it is the one I hang,
why I think the Witcher is so great,
that you can do something like that.
And again, it's, especially for 2015,
like the jig's up now.
Everybody knows how good the Witcher is, right?
But in 2015, when it was,
this is CD Project Reds coming out party.
Here we go, everybody jumps in,
and you got to that,
and it felt like so many other quests in the game.
or in games, I should say, sorry, in games.
And then you get to where you go with it.
You're like, oh, my God, this is incredible.
Yeah, 100%.
One thing I do want to give a shout out to, of course,
we're dancing around spoilers.
And maybe at the end we do a spoiler section, whatever.
We're here for an entire month doing Witcher Wednesdays,
even though it's a Witcher Wednesday on Monday today.
I do want to give a shout out.
We get a lot of review guides.
A lot of people send in video game codes and they give guides.
And sometimes they do a little FAQ.
This last one I'm going to read verbatim because it cracked my shit up, all right?
In their review guide, they said,
Are there any guidelines concerning spoilers for the review copy of remastered question mark?
The answer?
Let's be honest.
It's an 11-year-old game.
But there's still some gamers that haven't had a chance of all.
Don't focus.
I just like, they're like, listen, we are aware this game is old as shit.
That was one of the things that that was funny about the review period is that the, obviously, review embargo today, we couldn't stream it during the review period.
But I'm also like, why not?
Yeah.
You know, if you're scared of spoilers, it's like, well, people have already played Word of 3.
the game's out there. I feel like we might as well be able to
play it and all that. But
speaking of the remaster, can I give some
thoughts? I would love to transition over there.
Real quick, Andy Cortez in the chat says,
give the shout out to me. I give a shout
to Andy. I give a shout to Andy.
I'm sorry, now, yeah, let's go. Of course, like I was saying,
I wish your three remastered out tomorrow.
Review embargo up now. There are a host of
improvements. I can run through them,
and you can do whatever you want. Yeah, visual.
Visual improvements. You have upgraded visuals and
performance path tracing, which is PC-exclusive.
PS5 Pro support.
Combat improvements.
You got a reimagined skill system.
Improved Combat.
Sign refresh.
Enemy behavior enhancements.
Quality of life improvements.
Overhauled animations.
Witcher sense rework refreshed UI.
Transmog.
Hell yeah.
Miscellaneous improvements in expanded photo mode.
Mod.
I.O. integration.
Bards Ballad.
And then most important for me right now, of course,
there is a switch to cop version of it that runs and you can do that.
And there's a bunch of switch to stuff you can do with like motion controls.
But Lord knows I ain't using that shit.
Oh, that's cool.
Hell yeah.
I want to talk about this because I've been playing it on PS5 slash PS5 Pro.
Sure.
Mostly on my pro yesterday because I spent the entire day just playing this game.
Hell yeah.
I know you, but you just showed it on Switch 2.
You've been playing it there.
Yeah, I would say, you know, again, Friday is the worst time to give me a dad,
especially with my wife going out of town of code for a video game.
So yeah, I've got about five to six hours under my belt right now.
And I would say of that it's probably four to five on Switch 2
with an hour on my Razor, Blade 16.
And then Paris, you're playing it on PC?
Yeah, playing on PC.
I got about eight or nine hours.
I am kind of surprised with how many issues I'm having on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro.
I had to like start writing them down because it was coming up frequent enough to where I'm like, oh man, there might be some issues here.
Nothing that they can't fix, but stuff that I'm surprised to see in a remastered version of this.
For example, the game stutter is a lot for me.
Whenever there's a new quest, whenever there's like a new notification and there's something that happens, the game starts to stutter like crazy.
And this strikes me as something that might be a remnant of the original.
release because, you know, again, it's been like a decade since I played this game.
But right now there's a video example of I get a new update in my quest and then you saw
how it got framing there.
Yeah.
And this is like, this is probably the worst example of it.
But generally there is some kind of slowdown that I'm experiencing when I'm getting
new updates in my quest, which happens often.
So that's one thing I've been surprised to see.
In some areas, some scenes I was getting major pop-in.
I've had two crashes across about 15 hours of playing.
Well, let me correct that.
I got one crash with a game to shut down.
I had another scenario where I got caught in an infinite loading screen
where I opened a door for a request, starts loading.
Four minutes later, I'm still sitting there.
I'm like, this isn't right.
You went back, you made the tee, you came out.
You're like, no, this is...
Yeah, this is all happening on PS5 Pro, by the way.
So I had to shut down the game, cut it back on.
And the same action didn't even have a load screen
when I did it the second time.
Things like light flickering and light gameplay...
We do have known, yeah, the game's lighting past is currently in its final polishing phase.
They had talked about that, a known guide or whatever.
Another thing is audio mixing being way off?
I have had that as well.
Yeah.
It's like, I'm on Switch, I've had it where, like, they're talking and the music's just, like, drowning them out.
And I've gone in and I've done, then I do the whole thing of, like, change it from, okay, think someone, put it to headphones, do this, try to find the sweet spot, turn it all down.
Yeah.
And then one more thing is every single time I boot up the game, it has me readjust the
the corners and the brightness.
You know, the thing, when you first boot up a game,
it has me do that every single time I boot up the game.
That's really bizarre.
And to be clear, I'm only playing on PlayStation,
so I don't know if these things exist on other platforms,
or maybe it's, maybe I got a bad download.
I don't know.
I got a bad download.
I've heard of that happening to people sometimes,
or for some reason, their specific download of the game is broken.
But I've been kind of surprised to see all that.
Now, all that said, man, this game looks gorgeous.
She's a looker.
It's a really good looking game,
and I'm not saying all this to say the remaster sucks
or anything like that.
I'm just saying I'm surprised to see this amount of things
in my PSI Pro time playing this remaster.
Yeah, that's an interesting one.
And somebody has been popping off in the chat,
you know how people keep popping you with different stuff.
Is there cross-save?
Yes, if you didn't know, CD Project had added cross-save forever ago
to The Witcher, where even when I was playing
at the beginning of the year,
I was, you know, playing it on the ROG.
I was playing on the Razor Blade.
I was playing on my Switch.
You can kick your save around,
and it's instantaneously.
It's awesome.
It's amazing.
So then, yeah, last night,
I able to play on the Switch as much as I was,
then go downstairs,
then Ben called me back upstairs,
and I just picked back up on the Switch.
Incredible stuff.
They deserve to be shot at that there.
Switch, obviously, a far different platform
than a PlayStation 5 Pro.
I'm not having the hitches you're talking about.
It is in handheld mode,
very screen door to a degree.
Yeah.
In terms of, like, you're not experienced.
expecting it to look in here. You can run around so you can get a little hand on there.
But I still think it's good enough in terms of what I like to play and how I want to go.
And I like the screen real estate compared to the ROG. I booted it on my ROG ally X.
And it was one of the, okay, let's Goldilocks this problem. I'm going through.
Well, medium is okay. What about high? Well, what about the steam deck version?
I'm doing all these different things. And then, of course, I went downstairs, booted up the Razor Blade 16.
Put it all to ultra ray tracing out the ass. Fucking gorgeous.
I assume you're having the same PC experience.
I had no, none of the hitches you saw on that,
no slowdown on Switch and no crashes on PC or anything.
Yeah, I didn't have any crashes or anything on PC.
I did notice just a little bit of stuff with the lighting,
like lighting, if I could talk correctly, every now and again.
And some slight stuttering early on,
it seemed like it kind of cleared up, you know,
after playing for a while, but, I mean, nothing too egregious.
And, I mean, you know, I'm playing it on,
like ultra settings.
I got path tracing enabled all the bells and whistles.
I mean,
it looks fantastic.
It's just absolute stunner.
And the fact that it's an 11 year old game
has no business looking this good in 20206.
But I think overall they've done a fantastic job.
And obviously they'll continue to iterate on it
and, you know,
tweak any of the bugs that we're seeing.
It's crazy control on the switch too.
It's crazy.
We're in the future.
Oh, I think that's crazy like it's trash.
Like, no, no, it was crazy as in like,
man, we're 2026 playing the witch
or three on a switch two and it looks that good.
Yeah. That's insane.
It looks better, Docs. Like, I'm not, you know, I'm not, it's not running 60.
It's not really, you know what I mean? Like, down on the PC, I put it to, I think, 140 or
whatever, right? Like, obviously, that looks way buttery smooth compared to this.
But again, this is good enough. You know, I'm on a plane on Thursday. This will be the
version I take with me. Now, great that I'm reviewing something else on this, but you know
what I mean? Like, there's a reason to be jumping around.
I mean, I'm traveling soon and I'm like, well, I got to get this on the switch two now
so I can transfer that saved out
and play while I'm traveling
because that's more than a good enough way
to play with Witcher 3.
Yeah, 100%.
So then, yeah, Paris is somebody who,
I want to keep with it for these enhancements, right?
And I feel like you have the most dog in this race
because what I would say, you know,
how does it control?
How do they improve the combat?
They did all these different things.
I would say that as I'm playing it,
I'm to Blessing's point,
I'm not blown away by the combat,
but I am having a great time with it,
and I am constantly going,
was it always this easy?
And I went back and watched that
let's play I did in 2015. And I was like,
no, it wasn't. Like, I looked like an idiot.
And I've been playing for 20 hours, 30 hours
in that let's play. As my guy jumps around
a bunch of drowners like a weirdo. Like,
have you know, are you feeling that?
Are we crazy? Is it how different is it for you?
It definitely feels improved.
Now, is it perfect? No. It still
isn't. It can be clunky still at times.
But compared to what it was 11 years ago,
it's a drastic improvement. But I'm,
There's they've updated animations as well when you're in combat along with they've updated when you're using your signs like that that whole
Animation aspect looks it just looks better. It just looks cleaner yeah, but there's still some clunkiness to it. I mean there will still be people that will say hey, I don't like the combat in the Witcher 3
But you know I feel like it's good enough now they've gotten into a good place where it feels it feels good to get into these combat encounters and then I think one thing that
we haven't talked about yet but I'll bring up now is the fact that they've
overhauled the skill tree that you use so I feel like they've simplified it more
they've made it a lot easier for people to understand where they want to put their
skill points into what the attacks are gonna look like what the Hall Kimi is gonna
look like or you're your crafting all these things and your your skills as well so
or not your skills your science as well so they've made it easier for people jumping
into this for the first time now to not have to run to some IGN guide or
something like that to understand exactly what they're trying to do when they're setting up all their
skills. Yeah, again, it's another one of those that are looking into it and be like, oh, this
feels great. And I'm dialing in and doing the thing and finding what I want. And I'm like,
but I don't remember, again, that long ago, being that off put by it. So it's interesting to
see how it's improved and where it's at. Andy Cortez over in the chats is saying, shout it to
the no carry weight setting. Yeah, first thing I did. That was the first thing I did. I was like, I don't
want to deal with this. I'm sure Gary Wooda somewhere
is smiling because I was like, I don't want to
deal with this. Just let me collect everything
and then I'll figure it out on my own.
Yeah, there's a bunch of stuff they've dropped in there
in terms of the quality of life improvements and what they're
doing for all the different things.
That's the Bard's Ballad. Barz Ballad is a new
accessibility feature designed for players
with cognitive limitations such as
attention deficits or cognitive fatigue.
It adjusts selected gameplay elements
to better accommodate players' needs, for example, by
introducing automatic self-healing. And then there's a bunch
of other accessibility settings there. Oh, I didn't know those
automatic self. There's a bunch of stuff. I saw the automatic oil applying. Yes. I turned that on.
And then I also turned off weapon durability because that was annoying for me early on. Yeah.
Yeah. I mean, the way I look at that is they're just making it. So look, play the way you want.
If you want to be hardcore, like there's going to be people like I've done a death march run, which is brutal.
So you wouldn't want to turn any of these things on because you want to have to apply your oils.
You want the weapon durability, all that. You want the weight limit. So you're having the,
that true RPG type experience, but not everybody wants to do that.
So I'm happy to see this.
Just let people play how they want.
You know what I mean?
And I hope, honestly, this carries over into the Witcher 4 as well.
Oh, interesting question.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I do want to talk about that carrying over to the Witcher 4.
Of course, songs of the past.
The DLC is coming next year.
And of course, just more of our thoughts here on the Witcher remastered.

And we're back.
Let's get some super chats in here.
Mr. Nice Guy Rye, Superchats and says,
I've never played a Witcher game in my life.
I can't wait to start it tomorrow,
and it feels like the right time.
So excited to hear today's discourse.
Is it the right time?
We are, GTA is still right over there.
GTA is still right over there.
Right behind me, of course, you made me.
You forced me.
Everyone in this company worked against me on Friday to make sure I started
Control Resident and said, God damn, that's a game I got to play through all the way.
Can't jump back there.
It's still review season.
There's a million things going on.
So I'm committed to Witcher 3 for me being a long-term play-through.
Yeah.
I don't think I'm going to beat this game before Ocarina comes out,
let alone games like Star Wars Galactic Racer
and Fana Blade Zero.
There's so many games coming out this fall.
But with how much of a good time I'm having right now,
I think this might be, all right,
let's see if I can get through this chapter of this game.
I just got done with the Bloody Bear and stuff.
And it's like, cool, I can put this down for a second
before I return back to it.
Yeah, of course, playing all month,
I want to keep touching it,
and I want to keep bringing in different guests
to talk about The Witcher and stuff.
But it is that idea that I'm with you of like,
I think my goal with this one, of course, is to roll credits, of course, on this game.
Just vanilla, right?
Yeah.
But I want to then get blood and wine finished as well before songs of the past.
I feel like that's it.
I feel like we really get going with this, and I really become Gerald.
And I really get into what I'm doing and clearing the way.
Like, not just clearing to clear.
Like, I know how much we love Yenifer.
You know what I mean?
Last time around when it was a whole thing with Tris, I was like, I'm going to go with her.
And everyone was so horrified.
Now I'm like, no, I get it.
I get it.
I'm there.
I understand the relationship now.
I'm going to make this happen and make it work.
And I think, well, hold on.
Let me bring in another reason.
Like, the world is so different for me, okay?
Dexter, super chastis says, excited to jump into this and finally give it a fair shot as I wasn't in the right frame of mind for the first time.
Me.
And then he also says, also I got my girl, the little witcher book.
We, of course, have a son named Ben.
You're all raising them alongside of me, as you know that.
And last time Raddock from CD Project was here, he handed me The Little Witcher,
which is, of course, a little storybook about young Siri, and it's so charming and so beautiful,
and it's all these little comic strips.
I read this to Ben, I would say at least twice a week.
Like, he loves it that much.
So the feelings I have for Dandelion, Yenifer, you know, what we're doing here with Siri,
and of course to get ready for The Witcher 4.
There's so much groundwork laid now with the show and this and all this stuff,
To be in the game, I feel like I have to do it for these characters now that I care so much about.
But again, I don't have the gun to my head.
You know, I am telling myself, we got to stop today.
We do the episode today.
I move back to the review that I need to do upcoming.
And then before next Wednesday, I get more Witcher time in.
And I do it somewhere like that.
But it's going to be tough, Paris.
I'm very much drawn to go back right away.
Yeah.
And like I said, I was up at 2 a.m. last night playing this game.
And I jumped into one of my old saves because I was like level 37,
those hearts of stone because I just wanted to make sure I could go wherever I wanted in the world.
But as I'm playing, I go, okay, I have to do a playthrough from start, from the start,
from White Orchid, all the way to the end to get up to songs of the past.
And look, I guess for us that review games and stuff like this,
this is the absolute worst time for this game to come out.
But I think for people that don't have that urgency,
I think similar to you, blessing.
Just slow play it.
Slow play it.
I know they haven't announced when songs of the past has come out,
but when they do try to kind of time it in my opinion so that when you finish blood
and wine,
maybe you're just a few weeks out from songs of the past and you can just naturally, you know,
go into that.
But I kind of feel like maybe during the holiday,
that's when I can actually just sit down and give this a time that I really want to give it.
But man, yeah, there's just so much stuff out right now.
It's just crazy.
But I'm excited for people to jump into it that have never played it before, like the Super Chat was talking, you know, a few seconds ago because this is going to be a treat.
It's a story that holds up today, even though it's 11-year-old game.
And I think with all these improvements they've done, it gives it a nice modernization in some kind of weird way, I guess you could say.
And it's interesting.
I'll just this one last point.
We've all played through blood of Dawn Walker, which obviously has Witcher DNA all over it.
and I felt like coming off of that and coming into this,
it felt right.
Like, I didn't feel like, oh, man, this is clunky, this is old.
Like, man, they really need to update this.
It sits right alongside a game that is almost a spiritual successor to it
with the blood of Don Walker and it just feels natural to play.
Yeah, 100%.
I think, you know, to the combat this time around where I jump in and I'm like,
oh, this feels good.
And has it always been this easy?
I think if anything, that's Don Walker's,
experience speaking to it.
We're getting in there and be like, oh, okay, just,
oh, I can just dodge out of the way of everything,
or I can do the push Perry if I want,
whereas Dawn Walker was so involved of like,
okay, well, which way are they striking?
And I got to get the perfect period.
I got to do this thing, which I really liked coming in here.
It feels very easy.
And then it's into this conversation.
I don't know if Paris you have an opinion about.
But when I was talking on Gregway at the beginning of the year
of going back to the Witcher and trying to get into it
and, you know, really have a thing.
Lots of people, maybe a few,
we're saying I needed to crank the difficulty up
because they felt they got more out of it
where it was the oof, okay, going up against the Griffin,
I got to get the right oil, I got to get the,
I actually have to prep for this like,
Garoitte Wood in the real world versus,
oh, I'm just going to run in there
and have some healing items and kill it.
Yeah, I would say, like I play,
and I'm blanking on the exact wording of it,
difficulty right before death march.
I feel like to me that's the sweet spot
where you truly need to role play as Garrell,
where you need to prep, get your oils, right?
Like whenever you're going against a mantra,
you need to research it, whatever its strengths are,
what its weaknesses, things like that.
I think that's the sweet spot for me.
You know, Death March, that's for the hardcore
that wants to do that.
And I think the two difficulties below that,
you can just brute force your way through it,
if you so choose,
because you can get to a certain level
to where it doesn't matter,
where you just, all right,
I'm just going to hack and slash through everything.
And just play the game that way,
which is fine for people that want to do that.
but if you really want to experience all the mechanics that this game has to offer,
and like I said, I'm blanking on the difficulty name,
but that difficulty level that's right below Death March, I think,
is where you should play if you're going to do The Witcher 3.
Blesser, you're just doing normal?
Yeah, I'm doing the, I think it's suggested one, whatever they do.
It's the one that's suggested.
When I first picked it up, I picked it up before the remaster this latest time,
and as I was streaming it, there are people that were in the comments saying,
like, oh, yeah, I know this is the suggested level,
but the one above it is probably a better one to go.
with during this play-through. I've been going back and forth, just feeling out what I'm having
more fun with. And I am having more fun with the easier one. I think for me, I, obviously,
I play games that have a lot of combat and a lot of difficult combat. This combat system
isn't all the way resonating with me in a way where I'm... You want to be challenged like that.
Not really. I don't want to be annoyed. And I'm liking the story and the writing so much. And I think
that's what I'm here for more than the combat in Witcher 3. So for now, I think I'm just hanging around
that area. But I don't know. I could see myself bumping it up if I really am just
tearing through everything. My thing is like I, yeah, I feel like right now I'm already feeling
powerful in being able to take things down to my first one, right? Where it's like, you know,
I went after the noon rath at the well last night. I remember way back in the day, that one
being a challenging fight for me. And this one just cleaned her clock. And it's like,
okay, well, maybe I'm different, you know, 11 years later. But also I think it's a little bit
of that. Then it's this idea of it, if I'm going to long play this, it can't be that like,
I'm cranking up the difficulty and then coming back to it. And they're like, what was I doing? What's
going on? Like I feel like right now
for where I'm at, I don't want to touch
the encumbered settings or
apply oils or self-heal any of that jazz.
But I feel like when I come back
to it after a break, that might be where I'm like, you know what?
Put some of these assists back on because I don't remember what I'm doing and I don't
remember what I'm trying to do right at this moment. That's definitely a thing for me
where I'm trying to be realistic with myself as far as
how much frustration I can take when I'm also balancing
other games. Yeah, yeah, we have at the same time.
Yeah, if you're just sitting down, we want to just crank through this.
What do you have for me? Yeah, Greg, before I forget
because you mentioned a second ago,
Have you played through the last wish quest in the Witcher 3?
I don't know it off the top of my head.
Okay, okay.
When you do, there's no way you will not pick.
You will always pick Jennifer.
So what I'm trying to say.
Trust me when you do that.
Yeah, that one explains their relationship to a T.
And I know there's the Trish, you know, fans out there, but it's Jennifer all day every day.
Okay, fair enough.
Can we have the big conversation?
Sure.
Gwent
How much y'all
y'all playing this time around
Not a goddamn card
Yeah I've not touched it at all yet
I've never been
I'm not a magic sickle like you
Must be nice
I turned it on
Every time I go to Gwit
And they explain them like I get it
And then I lose the tutorial battle
I'm like I don't want to fucking do this by
Man I'm falling victim to what I fell victim to
Last time I played where I think one of the reasons
Why I fell off a Witcher is because I was playing
Wait too much Gwent
Oh yeah yeah yeah
Gwen is the goat so
one suggestion I have for you
blessing and you too Greg
do the quest line to essentially become
the Gwent Grandmaster Grand Champion
of the entire continent
it's that
that is part of the reason I fell in love
with the game so much back in 2015
because to your point it's it's a whole
game on its own you can literally just
go from town to town challenging
people to do Gwent and you collect
these cards and doing doing all that so
highly suggest everyone
again when you play invest in time
in the Gwent, you'll get hooked.
One of the first notes I took was the main quest is called lilac and gooseberries,
but for me, it might as well be photo mode and Gwent.
Talk to me about photo mode.
You said at the top you've been doing a lot of it.
That's awesome.
Dude, it's rare.
It's every now and then there comes an amazing, beautiful-looking open-world game
where I am stopping every five minutes and going,
damn, and then I'm hoping the photo mode, and I'm taking pictures.
I'm doing, the first one I can remember was maybe Shadow Colossus, the remake from Blue Point,
and then also goes to sushi mode was another one.
This one for sure is one of those games for me
where a lot of my time is being eaten up
by just hanging out in the photo mode.
I have some picks in the Asset Slack channel
for who's running the show.
So a lot of the photos I take are vertical
because when I first started doing this,
I've always taken them with the idea
that they're going to be phone backgrounds.
Like I'm trying to find my next potential phone background.
And the impressive...
Whoa, that transition, you see that?
What's that?
That transition?
Whoa!
Roger, I assume you're killing it.
Yeah.
He downloaded some program.
But the impressive thing is,
obviously, there are so many tools
in this photo mode that you can mess around with.
You can change time of day,
do stuff with characters.
It's like a lot of the modern photo modes you get.
I am barely tweaking much
in these photo modes.
I think the most I have done
has been time of day stuff
and changing weather effects.
But for the most part,
this is how the game looks.
The game just looks.
looks this good. Like you hit the L3 and R3 button and you pop out like your UI goes away and
it's the photo mode UI and this is how the game looks. That's gorgeous. But I've been loving it.
I highly suggest if you're a photo mode person or if you're like interested in it, definitely
tinker around like find those picturesque views as you're exploring the open world and mess around
with it. The one more thing I'll say about it is it lets the camera pan out way far. Like I've not
test the bounds but I feel like I can explore the entire map in photo mode if I wanted to
to you. And so I pulled up really high in some of these shots.
Lessing, when you get to Skellig, you're going to be there for like 50 hours.
Just taking photos. It's just such a beautiful region. That's actually what I did when I started
playing. I pulled that safe. I just immediately went to Skellig and just ran around that island
and just taken in the beauty of this world. That's, again, part of the appeal of the Richard
3 is just a beautiful game. They've, you know, CD Project read that team just did incredible work,
you know, with the environment.
that you just want to walk around and look at stuff.
Hell yeah.
I cannot wait.
Who is he calling?
Uh-oh.
Jack Quaid, it's Greg Miller.
You're live on the Kind of Funny Gamescast.
How are you?
I'm doing good, man.
I'm doing great.
Doing good.
What do I owe the pleasure?
We are doing the Witcher 3 remastered review so far right now,
and Blessing is signing off on the photo mode as something for photo mode sicko.
So I wanted to tell you right away.
That's really good.
That's really good news.
Blessing.
Thank you so much.
for that. Anytime. Here's the thing. I just, so I recently got a Steam deck and I, I, I, I got the
Witcher 3 for that. I don't know if it's the, if it's the remastered edition. How many remasters
have there been at times? There's been the complete edition in this thing, but basically tomorrow,
the remastered one comes out and you get it for free because if you already own the game,
you just upgrade it. This is really good news. Yeah.
Because it's, on the, on the Steam deck, it doesn't look great, but also it's an older game. So I,
okay, this is very good news. Okay.
they have Steam Deck settings, yeah, so you should be, you should be in good shape there.
Oh, my God.
And if you wanted even more good news, sounds like we're doing a commercial now.
You can, please, please, please.
Is CD Project Red, they give you, like, you have the save and you can send it to any system you want.
So if you're like, you know what, I need this to look great, you could put it on your PlayStation Pro, and then you could go there.
Hey, thank you, CD Project Red.
That's incredible.
I just, I'm very, very close to finishing blood of Don Walker.
Oh.
That's kind of my new thing.
and I know that it's a lot of the same developers as the Witcher 3, right?
Yeah, that's right.
It's so good.
That game's super fun.
It is.
And I really desperately wish there was a photo mode because I'd be taking so many vampire bags.
Yeah, they're going to do the thing where they added in later, but that sucks.
I'm with you.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey, thanks for knowing my specific gaming kink and calling me whenever it comes up.
I really, really appreciate it.
No problem.
We love you, Jack.
All right.
Love you guys.
All right, bye.
Love you, Jack.
he's too famous to be answering his phone.
On one ring.
First ring I get through.
That's how much Jack loves kind of funny.
That's what I like to see.
Golly.
Thank you, Jack.
Pig me monkey says
May 22nd is my birthday.
In Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games of all time.
I forgot that you reviewed it on that day.
Needo.
I won't lie to you.
I forgot we reviewed it on that day too.
And then Wolfus says,
birthday tax.
I'm turning 41 today.
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday.
Discovered kind of funny around March 2020 and been around ever since.
Greetings from Mexico.
Happy birthday.
Wolfess.
I'm excited to keep coming back to The Witcher 3 throughout this entire thing.
I haven't touched photo mode yet either.
Oh, man.
It's great.
Yeah.
You're going to love it.
Okay.
Okay.
Are we doing a spoiler thing?
Because I have a client-related story.
Everybody, we're going into some spoiler stuff.
It's early spoilers, though, right?
Oh, yeah.
This is nothing post-bloody Baron.
Yeah, you're fine.
All right.
Can I say it?
Yeah, so this is how much I love Gwen is I'm doing the Bloody Baron quest and I'm
hurtling towards the end of it and I have the I remember my play through of
Bloody Baron and I'm like oh this guy might not make it at the end of this quest.
Got it.
And the way that my first thought was pause everything, I need to beat him in Gwen before
this motherfucker kills him stuff.
I'm like I can't let you hang yourself before I beat you in a quick.
I gotta get the card.
I gotta do the thing.
You get your cards out, brother.
We're doing this thing.
He's like, sobbing.
Yeah.
I'm like, I know you have a lot you're dealing with.
You're trying to find your wife and your kid.
Pull out the cards.
I need to beat you real quick.
And I did it.
Damn right, you did.
Yeah.
What a great quest.
Did you like Gwent as much the first time around?
Yes.
Okay.
It's one of the reasons I didn't beat the game.
I spent too much time playing Gwen.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was just interesting.
When you were doing it back in the day,
did you ever think that would transition to your magic obsession?
You know, I mean, I never thought about,
I wasn't thinking about magic the gathering back then by any means,
but it definitely was a canary in the coal mine.
Yeah.
Because like from there, from there.
The awarding sites were there.
Yeah.
Because what?
Like after that, it was, uh, inscription.
I already liked Yu-Gi-Oh.
Like, I've always liked cards.
Yeah.
But I just never, I never let myself try the most addictive one.
Sure.
Yeah.
That's the gathering.
So now I'm here.
So Paris, are you, you know, you're joining us for this Witcher cast.
We can't.
We're so excited you can make time for us.
Thank you so much.
Are you, what is the future for you?
the Witcher here. Are you going to keep picking at it or is it, you know, you've played so much of it.
You're like, hey, you know, and I'll screw around with it or never come back.
Oh, no, I'm going to keep picking at it. Like I said, we've obviously got a lot of stuff happening over the next few weeks.
I may have to put it down for a little bit. But, um, for sure during the holiday, I'm just going to do just a day from, from scratch, play through and just lead it right on up into songs in the past.
Which, by the way, blessing new Gwent cards will be in songs of the past. So you can keep the addiction going.
Yeah. Yeah. I'm happy for this game to be.
be a long play for me as well.
Yeah.
I think for that reason,
the idea that I can maybe play
this all the way up
until songs of the past.
Do we know when that's,
like, do we even know a season?
No, they haven't said it.
Okay.
I'm hoping fall.
Radick is in the chat.
I've seen them throughout this thing.
If you want to break the news on when it's coming
in 2027, we'd love to have that exclusive.
I know, you can DM me, Radick.
No, no, don't DM.
Just say in the Twitch chat.
It's fine.
You're fine.
We'll watch.
We'll be there.
There's also a movement right now in the Twitch chat
to get Jack Quaid on Fantasy Critic.
next year.
Is it going to be one of the ones where he's not,
he does it at the beginning and then forgets about it.
See, here's what I think.
Now, Radick says 2027, it's all I can say.
Well, thanks for nothing erratic,
except for having your gold kind of funny badge.
I think what it would be is we could get him in to do it,
and I think he would check it.
I don't think he'd ever be on, not never,
but I think it'd be hard to get him for the fantasy critic check-ins.
But I think he'd be on top of it.
He's clearly a huge loser nerd.
I mean, he's playing all these games.
Listen, I'm a Tonight Show talking about it.
I'm down for another person to just defeat in fantasy critics.
So if you want to have him on so he can be another loser, yeah.
What was the last time you won fantasy critic?
But I'm always top three.
I don't know if that's how we count it though, is it?
I'm always top three.
Ah, whatever.
We have a silver medal and a bronze medal.
No, we never have.
We have won trophy.
Oh, I mean, that's how it goes.
What's your, I'm curious, what are your guys is,
maybe this is more a great question because this is your,
they're picking you back up at the beginning.
Yeah, what's your moment of the playthru so far?
if you have one,
a moment that's stuck with you.
Oh, man.
I don't know how deeply you've gotten into like the main story yet, but...
No, I'm very much like...
So, in the Pantheon, in the history, the timeline here,
you figure I started it in 2015, right,
and I played 30 or 40 hours of it.
And then since then, I feel like I've come back.
Yeah, Chip's back there crying.
I didn't know he was back.
He just wants attention.
Chip hurt his leg, everybody,
but it isn't the leg that's sore right now.
it's just his attention span that no one's holding
over talking to him or we're talking to him or we're feeding him.
See, look at him. He can't even push himself the right way.
Poor guy.
2050, I started.
And then I definitely did a restart somewhere
between that and the show.
Then the show came out and I restarted.
Then this year I did a restart, and now I'm doing it again
a fifth time. So right now it's like,
all right, we got to go kill the Griffin to find Yenifer.
I'm like, I'm going to run around.
Like, and now I'm not running around in the,
I'm getting lost in the sauce like I did in 2015
where it's like, I always talk about it.
I never made it out of Act 1
and it was very much just getting overwhelmed
with the question marks because I wanted to do
everything and see what was up and get more powerful
and yetta, yada, yada. And so
that was so detrimental to me
moving the story. Again, having
it now of like, I know that I need to find
Yenifer, I know I need to save Siri
and I know what we're going to in the
broad scope of which are four.
That's the true north. So
running around now, I don't think I've seen
anything necessarily that I is new you know what I mean like I'm I haven't had that moment of like oh whoa
I didn't know that was going to happen I have had the moments of like you know the usual like how do
you deal with this situation are you know you're talking to the blacksmith are you going to let the guy
that burned down his forge go or you know if I can't kill him or turn him in or you know what I mean
like I love that and I'm excited to see how that plays out more if anything it would be like today
I tried to run and the one bridge was gated I'm like oh cool like I can't go there I like that
there's a stopper here.
And so then it became the,
can I go left?
Can I go right and find it?
And I found my first vigil of power or whatever.
Yeah,
sigil of power.
And then there was a monster thing.
And I totally forgot about the monster.
And it's like,
oh, right,
there's these things to blow up and yada,
yada,
like, I don't know.
It's fun to play this game and feel like,
I'm going to see it through this time.
And like,
now that I'm making these little choices
and getting those perk points
and get it is like,
okay, cool.
Like, I'm building a character for this
DLC that's coming next year.
Like, there's a lot to do here.
I'm excited it's such a meaty world.
Yeah.
To, I want to keep it vague, even though I know you played past this moment your original
play through.
But for me, it was yesterday encountering the Crohn's, which are like the witches.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, the witches.
And there comes a point, and we're still in spoiler territory, I assume.
Yeah.
I don't know if we ever left.
But getting to the point where you go into the cave and, like, you find,
basically an evil
there's an evil
that like is stuck in the cave
that I believe it's the witch is doing
and you have a choice
of being like I'm going to kill this evil spirit
or I'm going to free the evil spirit and I remember
last time playing being like this was
it was definitely a choice
that stuck with me because I definitely made the wrong
choice and when I tell you
I was met with that. Or did you?
Or did I? I still don't know
because I made, I'm pretty sure I
made the exact same choice as I made
last time, which is I put this
motherfucker in a horse. And now he's
just an evil horse walking around. And I'm like,
man, I think I fucked up
again. But I find
it entertaining because they don't really
give you
the context to make
a quote unquote right decision. Unless maybe
I didn't look around enough. That's also...
I do love that too of like reading.
I love reading in my RPGs and like there's so
many fascinating awesome documents.
Yeah. And that's the thing is like there's so many documents
but there are almost too many in a good way
where it's like I'm not reading all this shit
sometimes I read it
especially if I get like a new added thing to the beastiary
those I find entertaining
but yeah like
freeing the evil spirit and now
me afterwards being like
shit there's a horse
I fucked up there's a horse running around
and that horse like he told me he was going to free
the kids what does that really mean though
you know what I mean? Like free him from
their mortal coil yeah
but I love that I'm so fascinated
I'm so I love this so much.
Keep playing.
I can't wait.
I'm so excited to see where the horse thing goes because I forget what happened or even
even if I even got to like the results of it before.
Everybody.
Oh, one thing before everybody.
Yeah, go go.
Yeah, one thing we didn't talk about, trans mop.
So that's the thing in the game now.
I haven't done it yet.
But now you can essentially whatever gear that you like to wear, you can have that during
the entire game.
And obviously you'll find other armor and stuff to upgrade as you go.
along, but you can keep the appearance that you want. I think that's another great little perk
that played. Yeah, no, it's clutch. I mean, I love that in all my games. And I remember that was a
problem for me playing this game originally, where I was like, I look like a horse's ass, but it's got
the best stats. So that's what I got to do. Right, right. Everybody, we are beginning our
Witcher three journey. Once again, it kind of funny, even though we reviewed it in 2015. Of course,
like I said, we are doing Witcher Wednesdays where we'll check in. Today, this, this was
Witcher Wednesday on a Monday. You'll get something different to this Wednesday. But next Wednesday, we'll be
back to talk about where we're at. After that, of course, if you can believe it, it is top 100,
so we'll take that week off from Witcher Wednesday, and then you'll get two more there as we
continue our playthrough. Also, we talked about earlier, like, oh, what a great time to play
it and like, oh, we'll review season. But what a great Halloween game? You know what a great,
spooky season game of, yeah, there was this thing where the world's got too close and monsters
came over, and now you got to, I'm like, hell yeah, I can go for more witches and werewolves
and all this other stuff. I love this game. Great time. Like I said in 2015, but will I finish it?
We'll see. We're trying. We're doing our best.
Of course, as you all know, songs of the past comes out in 2027.
We will be covering it here on Kind of Funny.
