Like, I'm in the gym. Yeah, they're like, oh, you look thrilled right now. I'm like, I don't know what to do my face. No. Because I am tired. Oh, 6.30 in the morning. I woke at 6.30 to be here. I am tired, yeah.

No, no, you keep it up. And also I just lifted a bunch of weights. And then I also saw that you did a Lorwyn-Eclips draft night with your friends. Yes. Jealous to that. Super fun. Yeah. And then, of course, you're playing video games.

I'm playing video games. I streamed Mario tennis yesterday. Okay. We'll talk about in this episode because this episode all about Mario Sports games. We're going to talk about Mario tennis. And then, of course, I hung out with, I got drinks with Baird and some people. Barrett and some people on Friday, which is super fun. It was a jam-packed weekend for you.

Yeah. this weekend. I like that. I was your weekend. Played a lot of games. Playing a lot of mugenics. Played a little bit of that sons of Sparta. Nice. Watch Drillbit Taylor twice. Twice? Yeah, I like Drillbit Taylor. All right. I'm not mad at it. This is one of those movies.

That's a Josh Peck in it. I know. I love Josh Peck. What a callback. I'm a big Josh Peck fan. Young Josh Peck too. Because Joe But Taylor was like, what, probably 10 plus years ago? Oh, for sure. They got a young Josh Peck in that one. Okay. More than 10 years ago, right? Like 20 years ago, probably. Watch Utopia.

Two. Ready to say Zootopia 1 better than Zootopia 2. Okay. Utopia 2 still good, but I think one is better than 2. Drill Bit Taylor was 2008. Yeah, it was almost 20 years ago.

Did I watch Trilbett Taylor? I must have watched Trilbett Taylor. I remember they're weirdly being a poster for it at our school. Like I remember it is prominently being displayed in our lunch like cafeteria. Like Drillit Taylor was buying ad space at her school or some shit.

It was really weird. And then happy to report blessed that I know you've finally been watching. A Night of the Seven Kingdom. I did. I started up Night of the Seven Kingdoms yesterday. That show of the year so far. They have found the magic. I am fully invested in Game of Thrones.

And this one makes Hot D. House of Dragons looks so bad. Look like hot trash. I hate Hot D now because of it. Wow. Yeah. Is that good? I really, dude, it's so good.

I need to get further. So I'm not a Game of Thrones person. Okay. I wasn't watching it during the Game of Thrones hype. And so this is me jumping into this as like my first Game of Thrones universe show. Not bad? Yeah. And like first episode is good.

First episode is solid. I just, I want to see where it goes. Because like the world, I'm not, you know, I don't have the preexisting. Just lock out two hours,

watch the whole thing. You think so? Okay. Yeah, they're all less than 30 minutes. There's only five episodes. So you'll tear it up in less than two hours. How long is the season?

It ends next week. Oh. It's super short. All right. And then you go into the real Game of Thrones You're going to have an incredible journey The main reason I'm not The main reason I'm not gone back and watched Game of Thrones

is because everybody and their mom and told me that the ending sucked And I'm not going to watch That I'm not going to watch that many seasons Of a thing that I know the ending is going to be bad It's not about the ending is the journey bliss Dude it's the beginning of Game of Thrones You're going to get to episode two

And there's some shit that goes down And you're like oh shit I'm in for a row But I also already know the movie Like Game of Thrones is one of those shows That was so high profile So popular That people have already

list that's where i go online i find a top 10 list i bring it back to the hosts and we judge it for your amusement a couple of things before we get to the shit list though i want to start off talking about our fancy critic oh can we get a little fancy critic look at let's get a little fantasy critic update because me and you started talking about this before the show in Barrett. And we got some things to break down. Good, because you know, the reigning champ who's looking to go back to back, got a little shit to talk here. Yeah.

I can talk a little smack on this right now. Well, here's the thing. I want to talk to you. Talk to me about it. Infamously, you started the season off by filling your team. Yes. Right? You have no more slots left to fill things in with.

Do you get, I guess, anxious or, you know, do you regret it in times like this where new games are announced? No, I'm not feeling that. The only thing that I'm feeling is I don't have any points on the board and I'm getting anxious of like give me points now, right? Greg's got points now. Barrett's got points. You got points.

So now I'm looking at all of you start to earn points and I'm going, well, when's my turn? You start a little gloating right now. But no, I have not felt any excitement or worry that I'm not being able to draft new games. I came in with the game plan. I still have two drops. If one game

get... Do you have any money, though? If one... He has $1. Okay. So if one game, like, doesn't get announced or one game, like, I just want to drop it. I still have that. We still have trades. We still have trades.

I can't wheel and deal some trades. We do still have trades. But, like, I mean, I'll start to turn on, right? World of Warcraft Midnight, that comes out here in March. So does Ghost of Yote. Then Diablo 4, that's April. So I'm going to turn on here in a second with some points. Yes.

And I'm feeling good about it, bless. Now, of course, if you follow the Feaster Critic, our bids for games that are coming out process on Saturday. And this last Saturday, we had what things happen. What I'm going to call the Valentine's Day Massacre. The Red Wedding.

The Red Wedding. Okay, talk to me about it. Of course, the state of play happened last week. And there are a couple of games that were announced that lit up our hearts on fire. Oh, really? There are two games in particular. Those games were Cana Scars of Cosmoor.

And Cassavania, Belmont's Cur. Oh, snap. Those are the two games that people identified as, oh, that's what I'm going to get. Of course, those are slated for 2026. If I'm working my way from the bottom of our bid history here, level 6, 7, that's me, bid $1 on Avatar Avatar, the fighting game. I was able to pick that up. I noticed you picked that up and I thought, is that the blue people?

No, that's not the blue people. This is the good Avatar. Avatar is the Last Therapender. Do you want to give me a reason why? So that's the new fighting game that's coming out from Avatar, The Last Therabend. vendor. They put up a trailer in the last week where they featured Toff, which is a very loved character. The Toff gameplay looks fucking wild. The gameplay looks so good. This game looks better every single time we see a trailer for. And I've seen enough now to where I'm like, this is

gonna be a good game. People have had closed beta hands-on with it too. Okay. And those people have good things to say about it. And so I don't think this will be a, I don't think it'll be like a 90 or anything like that. 85 plus? I think it has a very good shot at being like an 85. Okay. I think it has a good shot at being that. And so, I don't think it has a good shot at being that. That's why I picked that up because I also knew I could get it for the dollar. Ain't nobody else. Nobody else is bidding for that game this last weekend.

You're bidding on a fighting game to take up one of your spots. Yes. Right? Traditionally fighting games, very small market there. Yeah. Hit or miss, right?

Yes. You believe in this one? Because, like, I worry of just taking up a spot when spots are so coveted. I believe that it's a safe, like, 85. I think it'll get me there because, of course,

we're not talking about sales. We're not talking about how many people are playing it. We're just talking about what do the critics have to say about this? and the game, again, looks good enough. I've heard enough good buzz about it that I have confidence in this, especially for just $1.

Okay. Let's talk about Belmont's curse. Yeah. Because I had bid $21. $21 is a big number for Belmont's curse and I was outbid. Let Tim publish, Tim's publisher, bid $22 for Cassavania Belmont's curse.

That publisher was outbid. And now, mind you, all these are, these are all blind. We don't know what other people are. Nobody knows what the number. Everybody's just putting out a price out there that they want to pick this thing up for. Barrett, in quotation marks,

evil, sorry, parentheses, evil, tried to acquire Castlevania Belmont's curse with a bid of $45. And let me tell you, let me tell you, that wasn't my original bid. I originally put 60 down. And then a couple hours later,

I sat with it. I was like, no, too much, too much. Yeah. And Barrett was outbid by Barrett is my best friend, aka Roger Bricorni, who acquired the game with a bid of $55. $55 is a lot of money to spend. Yeah. Now the question is how many.

That game's going to rip, though. That game's going to be great. We think that game's going to rip rip, rip. I think that has a chance at hitting that 90 mark. The Dead Cells team, yeah. Making a Castlevania game. Yeah. I like that.

I think that game's going to do really good. The question, though, is when you spend $55, how many spots do you have left? Can we look at Roger's team? How many more spots does he have to fill with his remaining probably 45 less? Because I think he spent money on other games as well. Yeah, right now he has $38.

And then let's go to his team. He's got one spot left. Whoa. Yes. Because he also did pick up Demon Tides for $5 this weekend, which we're going to have a conversation about, not today on a later day. We're going to have a conversation about demon tides.

A lot of people. A lot of people getting anxious. You see, a lot of filling up right now. Roger won away right there. I think everybody else filled up pretty close as well. Yeah, I only have two spot, but I'm, I'm, expected. I drafted three unannounced games. Yeah.

There was one weekend where I took the same pills Rogers took, and I was like, this is all happening this year. I feel it in my bones. I imagine I'm going to either drop one or both of these other unannounced games. I mean, Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake. That's going to happen. That's like, is it? That's like 105% going to happen.

But like, is it this year, though? Yeah. Is Ubisoft in a place where they're going to be able to put out games this year? I don't know, man. That's in two months. I don't know, man. That might be next month that Assassin's Creed game. Ocreena time remake ain't no way.

That was the hopi. Again, the pills gave me hopium. We're just like, dude, it's the 40th. They're putting out the Lego sets they're putting out are all Ocarina time. Let the pills hit, bro. So that's Casabania Belmont's curse, which I think is a great pick-up for Rock. A lot of energy for that one. I do think that game is going to be excellent.

Let's talk about Cana Scars of Cosmore, unless you had something else. No, no, I like that. Opens up the show. Yes. People get excited. So I also bid for Cana Scars of Cosmore at $20. And I failed that bid. I was outbid.

Who else did? I think that was it only two of us? Yes. No shot, really. Yeah. So let Tim publish, Tim Getty's. also bid for Cana, Scars of Cosmora, $42. Jesus.

For this bid, which, Tim, you can have it. For $42? Yeah, no, I wasn't going to put down that much for Cana. I think this game is going to be so fun. I cannot wait for this game. I am all the way hyped for this game. I don't know if this game is going to break 86. No locked date either.

No locked date. No locked date. I trust the game coming out in 2026. I just don't, for me, if I'm going to spend that much money, the game has to be like a 90. Of course. I don't think this game is going to be a 90. The Cana Bridges Spirits Open Critic here is sitting at an 82.

I think this would be better than Bridges Spirits, but I don't know if it's going to be... They got it up there. I don't know if it's going to be like an over 90 type game. I don't know if it's going to be over 85. Like I think it could hit a solid 85. Yeah. There's a lot that they got to improve. But I also think they know that, right?

Like, that's my thing is I'm very excited about this game because this is a post-Kan1 Kana game, meaning they saw feedback, meaning they, they, like, I think there's enough there that they understand they need to fix and polish that I wouldn't be surprised if this was one that we played and we're like, yo. Really good. This is the Assassin's Creed 2. You think of the AC1 and AC2 jump? Yeah.

But also. Could be Ubisoft gods and monsters. That's risky. What does that mean? I don't know. Throwing it out there. I don't know. That's just the Eversop game I know.

It has nothing to do with the points we're making it all. It's not. No, I don't think it's going to be UBesop gods and monsters. I think the game is going to be great. but I don't know if it's $42 on the medical. Can we get a rundown of each team? Let's see where everybody's at right now, just so we,

because there's a lot of people now with very limited numbers you can have. Mike filled up. That was the storyline from the beginning. Now, mind you, it's February 16th. We're only a month and a half into the year right now. Let's see who is getting pretty antsy because I think maybe people might not even make it to June. Let's take a look. We got to make it to June.

I mean, you're right. A lot of us are filled up. He's barely making it to June at this rate. Dan, Andy's picks are so fascinating. Yeah. Because, like, he has Valor Mordis on here. He is out of words. And, like, these are cool looking.

Mara, Marauchy Legends. I like that he's just like, you know what? I fuck with this. I don't know if it'll, like, a score big or whatever. But, like, I get the sense that, you know, his post-draft day pickups have all just been like, yeah, I kind of fuck with it. Someone has to remember. If you lose, there.

There's a punishment. Whoever's last place. You don't want to be voting with your heart here. Yeah, but these are, it's not like any of these are bad picks. I think these are all very good. Is this a winning team though? I don't think it's a winning team, but I think it's a third or second place. Okay.

I think this is a third or second place team. Wow. Third or second place? Yes. Okay. I think like from Valor Mortis down to Eternal Life of Goldman, those have high ceilings. Yeah. Maybe low floors.

Okay. But high ceilings for sure. We'll see. What else we got on here? What other teams? Oh, also I played the Squid game, Metal Gear Solid Crossover. Really fun. What?

Darwin Paradoxes. Oh, the Squid game. The Octopus game. Dude, really fun. Really fun. Really cool. That exists. That's a different thing.

Really cool. All right. We got here, Barrett's team. Oh, we talked about this. Now, this is going down a point. It's going down. I mean, God of War Suns Sparta. Yeah, it's 75.

Now it's 74. God of War Suns of Sparta, not getting good reviews. Do we think this goes down? down any lower. No. Probably. I think this goes up. I think this goes down to 72. There's no way. I'm not played God of War Sons of Sparta. Yeah. But like, is that game

of 74? I think it's, I think people are putting sevens across the board. No. It's like that. We'll see. The review so far. I'll have to give you my personal analysis sometime this later this week when I be give you a little vibe change. I got to find a place on the calendar. Also, if there's one game

because I think I had a couple of games that were like mid to low 70s last year. If this is the one game that I have this year that is in the mid-70s, cool. Because I also just love the idea that, like, you had to bid on this game before it was even announced because they shadow dropped it. So I just loved that I got to be a part where I was just like, you know, again, the pills spoke to me.

They're like, hey, Barrett, the Nintendo directs coming up. The PlayStation State of Play is coming up. Bid on these games. And I got to bid on them. And if I hadn't done it, you know, before the state of play, none of us would have gotten it so I just I like that fun one for you to remember I won last year with two zeros exactly like Barrett says he can take one miss he can take a miss uh who's next on the thing I think Raj former which Raj has a great team right now he's only got two spots left he

might not even make he has he has one spot left one spot low oh my gosh and he has I mean Cassavania and GTA six already solid pretty solid I mean yakuza is in the sky yakuza didn't do too well for him. We'll see what is up with Unannounced Witcher 3DLC. Yeah. Dongen Rampa, that's a question mark to me. Yeah. I don't know what that looks like as far as reviews. He just, he takes the pills. Orbitals, I think will be good.

Orbitals, yeah. It's like. Orbitals, though, like, I'm feeling in, let's get real. I'm feeling in 82. I like that. I see orbitals mid to high 80s. Because you're telling me there's a haze light game without the writing of the hazelight. Yeah, but is the gameplay going to be as good

Hayeslight. I don't know. I don't think so. Like, y'all underrate Hazelight, man. Like, yeah, there's stories that kind of whatever. But, like, man, that gameplay, I don't think you can replicate that. We'll see. We'll see. I don't know if you can replicate that. Tim Gettys, we have here. You know,

interesting team. I think Tim's goal, not last place this year. That's what I want to see out of Tim this year, not last place. I mean, do you have to give him Dragon Quest, gotten 15? The goal always is 15. You're amazing. Res. I think of a record. I was going to do great for him. He's got two spots.

Pokemon Popopia. It probably do good for him, actually. The previews of that game are good, and I play that game. That game's going to be great. They're talking about having, like, shared worlds with your friends that are, like, in the cloud, so you don't have to have always a host online. Cool stuff. I like that. I love that. Cana's going to do great for him. Tomb Raider legacy of

Atlanta is probably going to do good for him. Honestly, he has a solid team here. Okay. He has a solid team. I think his weakest link is double-07. But also, I think that's going to do great. I think it looks good. I think that game's going to be great. I'm excited for that. Uh, next time we got Paris. Oh, tough.

Now, Paris, here's the positive. Out of every team right now, Paris is the only one that's acting with a little restraint and still has spots open. Yeah, he's got, he's got to, he's got to drop some things, bro. You got to get rid of Gears award. Like, no, you got to keep gears. Gears is coming out this year. It's not coming out this year. He's got control resident.

He's got gears. He's got Lego Batman. I like all those picks. He picked up my life to. Paris might have got a little high before that. Yeah, I think we're all like High on Life too. I think Paris went back to back with High on Life and High on Life too. And it's like, Paris, I thought we learned from the first one.

It's a solid 70. Yeah, so I unlike you didn't do well for him. Any counterpicked tides of annihilation, which I don't think that game's coming out this year. I think you're bending on that one not coming out. Yeah. That does come out. Paris is screwed. I might have a problem.

Yeah. And then we got, well, we got me who like, I have two spots left open. Two spots. Okay. Muggenics did great for me. That pick of me, Genics did great for me. Crimson Desert, I'm a little bit scared about. Slea Spire 2.

They keep putting out new videos, though, that get people more and more excited for this. But it looks impossibly good. I just hope it's not like the game runs like trash, I think. But the game's gone gold for like weeks. I can't wait. This is the longest gone gold period I remember in a while. I'm waiting for this. So hopefully they're just polishing and the game runs well on consoles.

If it does, I think that'll do pretty well for me. Mix tape, I think it's going to do phenomenal. Slith Spire 2. I just need it to get reviews because that game is going to be sick. I got to preview it and I can tell you that it looks impressive. So there's that. And then Avatar of the Fighting Game, you know, that's a heart pick. Oh, you're going to wait for your next two spots until midsummer. Yes. Unless something crazy gets announced until summer, I'm probably going to keep those spots open. I also have drops. So there's that as well. And then we have Greg's team. Saras is going to do great for him. Marvel got announced to the date. That's going to do good for him. I went with the monsties.

He went with the monsties with Monster Hunter Stories 3 here. He also has Beasts of Reincor The reincarnation. The reincarnation is a shot here. These are, this is a good team aside from unannounced mainline half-life game. Yeah, people, but that's a Roger problem.

Roger started that. And that got locked in for him. So we'll see about that. Pokemon Gen 10, I'm also worried about for him. Yeah. It's like, they don't be making them games run good.

30th anniversary end of the month, though, it's going to be so excited. Yeah, 30th anniversary and sub 30 frames per second is what we're going to talk about. You know, we should remake that commercial with all of us in the office.

That's a good idea. That's a TikTok. That's a really fun. That's a social video. You know what we use that for, leading into what I imagine we do a marathon stream for Pokemon Gen 10 if that comes out this year. That's great. We should do that because I think all of us would have fun polls. I think so.

Do we want to do our guessing and theorizing what's on this list? This is what I want to do. Lay it on me, buddy. I want to talk about Mario tennis Aces. That's a good video game. That's a great video game. Now, I'm talking as somebody who's played mostly ranked and played a little bit of the adventure mode. I don't want to touch more of the adventure mode, but you need to do unlock the rackets.

There's a big conversation about adventure mode and what players want to think they are kind of funny best friend putting a fun Reddit of like, what are you really looking out of for? What are you looking for out of Mario sports games? Yeah. And like, yeah, are we really looking for a packed RPG adventure mode? or you're just looking for like really fucking solid sports action. And like the Mario tennis from, you know, I know it's back on Game Boy before, but truly N64 on,

they have nailed Mario Tennis every single time. Yes. The groundwork of the tennis gameplay is usually perfect to perfection. And like the rest of it, you can go on and on about depending on what you want. But like when we're talking about just you versus me in tennis, they've nailed that. To correct myself, I said Aces.

I meant Mario Tennis fever. Yes. Especially coming off of Aces. is a great game. And to your point about adventure mode, like, yes, like,

what do we want out of a Mario sports game? I think for Mario tennis and, like, even a Mario golf or whatever, there's potential there because I don't know if you remember back during like Game Boy Color,

people have a lot of nostalgia for the adventure mode for Mario golf on Game Boy. Yes. And like, I didn't have that experience. Goff Story was actually my version. And I love Goff Story.

You already know this. And playing this Mario Tennis Fever adventure mode. So far, I am, you know, I'm not excited about it. I'm not happy with it at all, but I'm also like, man, you have the pieces. It's kind of crazy how like you have the fun tennis gameplay and you've built out like this walkable, you know, environment and characters and all this stuff. Like this could have been something that's a bit more exciting. I don't know why they just decided to make a tutorial that's too long here. I mean, I think there's a couple of reasons probably, right? Like one budget, how much budget do you really?

half of these Mario sports games. I don't think they're the highest of like, hey, we're giving you all the money and time and resources in the world. It's more like, let's get this done and move on to the next. But even still, like, I look at the budget they put into the adventure mode and like the amount of, the amount of content they have in the adventure mode. And if you just took what you have and just did other things, like that same amount of effort, take what you have, just do other things that.

I'm not looking for a crazy story or anything. I'm just looking for a thing that lets me just play tennis and rise to the top. That's all I need. Like, find fun tennis challenge. Look at what golf story did with golf. And just do that and do that with tennis. And then, of course, the other argument, just like we talk about with Call of Duty campaigns

and so many other campaigns, it's like, that's a one and done experience, right? So it's like most of these games, especially when you talk about like a Mario sports games, that's going to probably be played by a lot of families, right? And it's more of a, hey, Greg and Ben, sit on the couch. You have enough time to play one to two games, and then we've got to get going to the next thing, right?

Like the problem of the conversation is enough people will play that or they'll forget about it and they won't play that and they're just going to go to the core aspect of four players on the couch playing this, right? So I think that's where it gets at. If it was a perfect world, an ideal world, they would hire you and I. We'd go in there and consult and we would build out the ultimate Mario Sports Adventure Fantasy. It's funny. We would tell the greatest story. Oh my God. As I'm, it's, we know it.

That's so funny you say that. Every person out there knows. That's so funny you say that. Because yesterday as I was playing the adventure. just to get through JV rank or whatever so I can unlock one tennis racket. I was thinking about like, how would I write this? I almost opened up Google Doc. You should.

To write my own Mario tennis adventure. When we were doing the review, all I can think about it is like, I mean, there's millions of me, there's millions of view of like, I clearly understand what you're going for and we can elevate this so much with just like a little effort. Yeah. It's a little effort. It's not like with the only people saying this. So they clearly know that.

There's something beyond that, you know, but you can make something so much fun. Yeah. With all the characters, the Mario games of the past and the stories with dousal and stuff, you're going to have it so much fun. And here's my thing, right? Because me giving my Mario Tennis Fever impressions right now, I'm not reviewing it. Obviously, Nintendo gives us only like a certain amount of codes, usually one code per game. But for Mario Tennis Fever, it was, Andy and Greg that had the codes for Mario Tennis Fever.

And so, like, this isn't me reviewing it. If I was reviewing it, I'd probably say the exact same things as them as far as how bad adventure is and how good the rest of the game is, and I'll probably give whatever scores they give. I don't know what scores they gave, but I would probably give the same scores. Um, that said, for me just talking about it in my own experience with Mario tennis, Mario tennis, and we'll get into it probably after the ad and talking about the top 10 best Mario sports games for IGN. Mario tennis 64 has always been my number one. I love Mario tennis for the N64. I played that game until my thumbs hurt, Mike. Yeah, yeah. I played that game until my thumbs were like red. You know what I mean? Like I,

that game has such a fun vibe to it, has such a fun energy, has such fun gameplay, and it is, it feels competitive, you know? That was an early example for me as a kid of playing a game where I was like, yo, I got to lock in. This is hard, but I'm going to like, you know, pay attention. I'm going to like, you know, make sure I'm hugging the net. I'm going back. I'm doing all the things, right?

That game was so fun to play. And Mario Tennis Fever is the first time since then where I'm like, they've recaptured the feeling. This is what I want out of a Mario Tennis game. And it's added more. You don't feel that with Aces. No. Really? Aces, I just feel like felt so imbalanced that I just didn't, I, I didn't have the investment to want to like play that deeper.

Because as soon as I played somebody online and I was playing as piranha plant, I was like, this shit is bullshit. Pirata plant. Interesting. Yeah, the piranha plan was the puny piranha, right? He had like the crazy range. Yeah, I don't remember piranha plan. It was Bowser Jr. and Rosalina. Oh, maybe I'm thinking Bowser Jr.

annoying as well. Boo also had an annoying serve. Bowser Jr. also still has an annoying servant this one. I think you're right. It was Bowser Jr. It wasn't Brono. It's funny you have that because on my favorites that I've made the list over here, Mario Tennis is right up there as number one. So I agree with you. N64. I'll even speak about Mario Golf on 64.

We will go back in time and talk about this. But yeah, I think the latest Mario Tennis I'm having a ton of fun with. I wish motion controls were integrated into everything because I am someone that wants to take advantage of the fun controls. I have a big note here of like games that take advantage of like the Wii controls back in the day, right, and having those fun motion controls, those gimmicks, I think go a long way in sports games to kind of make yourself unique, right? I think about Tiger Woods on the Wii and how much fun it was to swing that we num chuck around. And now it's like you don't really get that, right? And for here to have it just only in motion controls, the little area really is just like

disappointing to me. I want to do it more. Because I think the reason they would do that, that is because for some reason they've limited the rackets in motion controls. So there's only like six that you can choose from. And I wonder why. That must have been some weird development. It's odd that I can't do it in tournaments. I can't do it and just like, you know,

I have to be in that one regular play motion controls. And then when I get to rank, which I'm excited to play online, right? Yeah. They have singles. They have doubles. They have no rackets. They have yes rackets.

I love that option. But then I go to doubles. I'm thinking, yeah, me and Blets are going to team up or me and Andy. Like, let's do this. No, you just get put with a random. Like that is one of those weird Nintendo decisions. Yeah, that's a W&D. Just like the Super Mario soccer game that we all tried to team up and play

and they wouldn't let you. It's like, what do you mean you can't play doubles ranked with a friend? Yeah. That's insane. That's for sure. That's for sure a W&D. Now, the thing that is really uplifting Mario Tennis fever so much that it might become my new favorite Mario sports game is that I think the core gameplay is so fun.

I think they've absolutely nailed it. I think the racket system, the fever rackets, it's so funny at first i was like i don't know if i'm feeling these things it's so crazy now that i played enough ranked to where i am seeing different strategies from different players where it is like all right cool yeah the powers like the power characters are definitely like the ones that people are leaning on the donkey kongs the i think rosalina power character i think maybe but you can tell that there's like a metaforming but between the different combinations of rackets and characters you can find ways around it i have been playing as mario because mario's always my main and any

like Mario sports thing, right? I'm always speaking Mario, that's my guy. You know what I mean? Come on that, right? I love that. I love that for you. But Mario with the shadow racket, the one that makes a clone of you,

so like you're basically playing doubles. Yeah. It's so like the way that that's allowed me to counter so many people that are like, yo, I'm playing this character and, you know, like they have the power swing or they'll lob over you in a crazy way or whatever. It's like, you know, I got my clone to back me up

while I'm hugging the net or whatever. I'm forming strategies in a way where I'm like, yo, this is just pure fun. That's like. I'm having such good back-to-back or back-and-forth games with players online. And, like, I, there's a lock-in ability that this game has that I've just not experienced in Mario Sports Games in like a decade. I love that, but like I talked about,

it's always nice to have a great Mario sports game, and it's fantastic to have it on your device at all times. Yeah. Because it's an easy game to just jump. Just pick up and play a game. Now the fun part will be, will this game make this list because of how recent it is. I don't think it will, but it's,

I believe so, yeah. So we're not going to see Mario Tennis Fever on this list, but what will we see on this list, Mike? I have seven my favorites, and I'm going to consider them locks. That was the day of the review embargo. Whoa. Maybe.

All right. So these are Snowmike Mike's favorite Mario sports games and some that I think, I believe will be locks. Starting with the N64, you have Mario tennis and Mario Golf. Of course. I put these both as the OGs. I know there were some before that,

but I do think that the Mario sports craze and phenomenon really was captured, for me at least, in the N64 titles. There's some Game Boy people out there, not me. Can I ask you a weird question? Tell me. Is cart racing a sport? I do not consider cart racing a sport for this particular. I think for this particular list you would keep off car car racing.

But we're going to have another one. Do you consider Mario racing? and Sonic at the Olympics. Yes, it is. Okay. Undoubtedly. Just so you know, I have three little sections here that say there's lots of games from Mario that have a bunch of games in it, but they're not great games, right?

When Mario focuses on one game, they're great. When he puts in a five pack of games, they're fine. Now, here's the thing, right? If you're asking me if Mario and Sonic is a sports game, I'm saying yes. If you're asking me if it's on this list, I think if it ends up on this list, that's just because you want the representation. You know what I mean? I don't know if it belongs on there.

I have seven games on my locks. So that gives you a little bit of room to play. But I don't, I would love to see the representation. I don't know if we'll get it. It's right, bless. Okay, well, tell me what other games are on there. Let's go to the Wii titles. Mario strikers charge, the best soccer game that they made.

And then, of course, Mario Super Sluggers. Yeah. That's the baseball game. Highlights of the Mario sports games. Please make another one. I hate that we have put baseball to the side. Yeah. to circle back to base. It's kind of crazy. It's really messed up.

And it's the only baseball one they ever made, right? There's one more. There's Mario Superstar Baseball for the GameCube, which I'm going to go to next. The GameCube, I have Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Smash Football, and Mario Power Tennis. Mario Power Tennis. I believe you were going to see two tennis

out of the Snowbike Mike Lox, two soccer's and two baseball. So pretty much giving you two of each on these things. Oh, you think we're getting two strikers and two baseballs. You think we get both of the baseballs? I think you get both baseballs and I think you get Was the GameCube baseball game that did? Both soccer's, yeah.

The GameCube baseball game, that was fire? Mario Superstarred baseball, yeah, yeah. Okay. I believe in those ones. I like those the most. Because I know Mario Sluggers is like, yeah, that's a name he'll throw around. You ready for my Dark Horse pick? Sure. Mario's sports mix for the Wii. Basketball, volleyball, volleyball, hockey, and dodgeball. See, I, they had dodgeball in there? In Dodgeball. I feel like Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games makes it before that one does. Okay.

Okay. And then here's some crazy callouts for you. Mario tennis on the virtual boy, just because I hate how it looks, but it's so funky and weird. It is so weird. I just can't wrap my head around. I can see that being like a fun little inclusion.

On their head back in the day. Mario sports superstars for the 3DS. That had five sports jam packed into it. The big standout horseback riding. A quest for you. Pretty wild right there. And then Mario Hoops three on three for the DS. Dude, remember Mario Loops?

There's some holes for you. What? about NBA Street No. That featured Mario Peach and Luigi. First of all, no.

But if they were featured in NBA Street Volume 2, then maybe. Volume 3 was cool. Volume 3 was cool. But it wasn't like, it wasn't the best one. And so I think that's kind of

where you lose them at. So those are your snowmike, Mike picks. You really took me back with the three on three. Three on three basketball. That's crazy. Yeah.

I want to pull up gameplay for that. What have I forgotten? The Game Boy games. The Game Boy games will be high on this list because of the adventure mode. Correct. So now we circle back

Like, what have I forgotten? The Game Boy games have a lot of love and nostalgia for people. Yeah. Especially with that story mode that people bring up, I think the Game Boy games will get some love here. The Game Boy games will probably be top five. At least, I believe Mario Golf being the highlight. Okay. Chad, correct me if I'm wrong about that.

There's a number of tennis and golf games you have to remember. That number of golf games on this. Yeah, but you can only go so crazy with the amount of the same sport you add on here, right? I only, I respect the first two are my favorites. Mario tennis on the N64 and Mario Golf I know they're not the beginning but those are my those are my locks that I love the most. I'm going to lock in

Mario Tennis 64 is going to be on there for sure I mean high on there. Mario golf 64 is going to be high on there. Mario Golf Game Boy is going to be high on that. Okay. Strikers charge like you mentioned is going to be high on there. Sluggers will be on there. Okay. I don't think I said Mario Tennis for

Game Boy but I think that I'll be on there as well. Okay. Um, man. There's a lot. It's a lot of, there is a lot. Yeah. I mean. And it's a lot of tennis and golf.

We've named all the baseball. Soccer has another one. Like, I think tennis and golf are going to be the ones to have multiple entries, but then the other ones, they're going to pick the best one, like sluggers. Yeah. I think you're going to get one baseball game. I don't know if you're going to see three hoops. I don't think you're seeing three on three hoops.

Um, baseball. You'll get one of them. Okay. I think we will get the GameCube one. Do you think we get? get Mario tennis aces. No.

No. I think you get fever on here, though. Okay. We were talking about this being released the day of. I think fever is probably top. Fever could get in there. Three or four. Okay.

What about like, Toadstool open? Now you're getting to like weird 3DS. Didn't yet. DS ones. Like there's going to be a lot. And Greg loves one of them.

Greg loves like, yeah, one of those handheld. I think it's the Toadstool open or something like that. Toadstool Tour is the GameCube, golf one. The three. 3DS one. I think it was open. But yes, you're right. I think that's one that's definitely worth considering.

Okay. What about, um, Mario Golf World Tour was the 3DS one tour. He left that one. Hear me out. How many? Punch out. Mario's the little referee. Hey, hey now. Let's get weird. What's I'm getting weird?

There's some odd ones here. It's just so many like similar ones that it's hard to pick which one. Mario, what was the recent one on the switch? Mario, power. golf, pro shot. Super rush. Super rush. I like that one. But people thought it was too ugly. I think if that game was prettier, it would get a lot more of the respect that it deserves because that game is fun. I think it's a fun, especially when they added New Donk City. Yeah. I'd play the Switch Mario Golf right now. It feels like we have a lot of good locks. I think there's going to be sprinkler. There's only 10 spots. I don't think. You can only sprinkle in so much. I don't think there will be surprises on this list. I think

we're going to like, I'm going to say right now, no Olympic games. No, I'm I'm saying there is Olympic games. You think there will be one? Yes. I think for sure there's going to be Olympic games. I don't think there will be. No? I don't think there will be a single Olympic games in this.

I think you're... There's some fun ones too. You're overestimating how many good bari of sports games there are. There's got to be room for Olympic games in there. My concern is I think we're going to see... If I had seven, I think you're going to see three golfs, four golfs, three tennis in this. Something crazy like that. That's too much.

I think you're just going to play to... what Mario's been good at, and you're going to stick to that lane. Shout out to the Mario and Sonic Olympics. I think maybe the last one they did for Summer Olympics, where there was like the normal version of play, but then there's the 2D, like, Sprite games that you could do as well. I feel like that can make it. Are you going winter or summer Olympics is right?

Summer. Winter has all the fun games, though. What you hear was Beijing? Was it 2012? 2020? Wait, was that recent? No, I'm trying to think. What was, no, that was Tokyo, right?

I love, I love Olympic games. I'm an N64 winter Olympics lover. I love that game. Yeah. And it was awful, but it was so much. I don't even think I knew that game existed. That shit rocks. Are we missing any sports?

What are the weird? Did Mario never play rugby? Did he never play? No, he plays weird games in the Olympic games. That's where he plays all the weird ones. Rugger's not a weird game. Well, no, I mean, like, yeah, the off top five popular ones. All right.

I mean, I'm ready to us. I don't think there's, I don't think there's much more. I don't think there will be surprises. All right, let's get into it. IGN. Let's do it. Starting off at number, actually, before we even, okay, starting up number 10.

Wow. Mario Hoops 3 on 3. Okay. And this is where I say maybe Olympics isn't on the list. I think this is where we get a little, we spend it out and we give a little love and representation to this. I want to read the blur about the top real quick. Sports are foundational to gaming as a medium. From Pong to NES baseball, the infancy of the medium was littered with just about

recognizable renditions of real life sports in attempt to conjure a degree of familiarity to this fledgling form of entertainment. But in the mid-90s, the developers at Nintendo collectively had a light- bulb appear above their head housing, above their head housing an idea that would change gaming forever. What if Mario and his friends played tennis? The greatest Mario sports games

are a perfect blend of those two words, Mario and Sports. It has to be a simulation worth its salt, giving you a reasonable adaptation of what it's truly like to play the sport in question. However, just as vital is the Mario part, splicing the sport with the Mushroom Kingdom's trademark personality

in the decades following 1995's Mario Tennis, Nintendo's Sports games evolved from simple sims to wacky adventures before retreating back to a steady if uninspiring run of titles. The early days of Camelot's software's handheld RPGs and chaos-inducing console sims are seemingly long gone. And today, many of Mario's sporting outings are greeted with more of a shrug than with anticipation. But with Mario Tennis Fever releasing this month on Switch 2, we could be about to enter a new era. So in celebration with Joyful Future or just a magical past, here's the top 10 Mario sports games ranked.

I'd love to write like one of these openings. Shout out of IGN for having fun with it. Yeah, I like that one. Like that way to recognize the moment and make something fun out of it. That's Ryan Guar at IGN. Good riding there. All right. Like we said, number 10 is Mario Hoops 3 on 3.

Coming in at number 9, we got Mario Tennis for the Game Boy Color. I never played this one. There's your Game Boy. Is it on Switch online? That's what I want to know, chat. Okay. Okay. I mean, there's your Game Boy Mario Tennis right there.

Yeah. You're going to get a Mario Golf for Game Boy. You're going to get a Mario Golf for that one right there. Okay. I like there. Great pull. Did this have a campaign? Also, that's one I want to know.

What was the adventure mode? People saying, I don't think so. Switch? Because you could play golf on Switch, I think. Play the OG back on the new stuff. Yeah. I played one of them. It is on NSO.

Maybe I played this one. Shit, I think I did play this one on Switch, actually. Okay. I don't remember it, though. I don't remember much where I played. All right. Number eight, we got Mario Golf World Tour. I think this is the Greg one.

Yes, this is the one that Greg and his buddy Mitch Dyer would play every single morning, right? Yeah. It's the DS one. The D.S. There you go. Or 3DS. 3DS. Yeah, then that's the one that, yeah, this was good.

I liked this one. Yeah. I mean, I wish I had this experience. Really? I didn't have a 3DS at all. Like the DS or the 3DS just bypassed me. Okay, okay. You know, my parents weren't trying to spend all the money.

Buy a bunch of, yeah. E waste, as Roger calls it. E waste. Yeah, and even as I got into college, it's like I didn't have the money to spend on a 3DS. But, like, it seems delightful. This seemed like a delightful console to have. Man, this was a fun one.

I enjoyed this console. I enjoyed this game. I liked that Greg was kind of spearheaded and leading a movement of like signing up every morning to play with him and Mitch in the morning. This was a good time. Now, Krypton Risen and Chat says, can we move on to Kind of Feudy?

Okay, we'll see. Mario Baseball, the most underrated of them all. I think everybody knows how good they are. It's a crime that Nintendo has not gone back to baseball. It's a crime. I wonder why they haven't. That seems, I mean, maybe it's just the international, like, viability of a baseball game.

Like, do you think people aren't buying? I mean, baseball is huge in Japan. I mean, you're right. Yeah, baseball is huge in Japan. Huge, of course, in America. I think these Mario sports games are like, you're just trying to get kids to play sports and, like, families have fun.

I think baseball is a great answer. I would love to ask the question of why. I just didn't sell well at the time. Yeah, and honestly, all I'll take in 2026 is this coming to GameCube NSO. And then we'll be fine. Yeah, exactly. I want the cover.

This is what I want. I want the Mario Baseball Switch. What would you call it? What would you call the Mario Sluggers on Switch? If they brought it back. Mario Switch Sluggers? No.

I guess we're on Switch 2, so you can't just put the Switch in the title anymore. Mario. I like Mario home run. I was going to say Home Run. Something with a home run. Yeah. I think Mario's super home run or Switch hitters, people are putting it. I don't like that one, but close.

I think it's got to be home run. I want the cover with Mario and Shoah. Yeah. Otani's got to be on there. Otani's got to be on there. You got to get an Otani. Cross over. That's what I want.

I like that. That's how you get it to sell. Yeah. Coming in at number six, we got Super Mario Strikers. Super Mario Strikers. The best soccer game. Just so much fun. I mean, I love this game.

This is a blast. It is a game. This is game. Again, if I had a GameCube as a kid, if I didn't, if my parents were, if I didn't move on to PS2 for my N-C4, and stayed with the Nintendo. I'm getting a GameCube.

This game would be my entire personality. You would be a freak on this one. I would be a freak on this game. Give me three other fun soccer games that aren't FIFA. That aren't FIFA? Are you ready for this? FIFA Street. Okay, FIFA Street.

Unless we're not counting out. I wasn't going to count it, but I like that. Okay. Mega Man soccer. Okay, Mega Man Soccer. I love Mega Man Soccer. That aren't FIFA. And I'm not even going to do PEZ.

Oh, that's a good one. Sega Slockeers slam. That's a good one. One of the most underrated great games around. What's funny is I was going to say FIFA 98, but that is a FIFA. Boys, do we feel like Strikers is too low on this list coming in at number six. I mean, I got to see what number four.

Are they going to put Super Mario smash football from the GameCube on at them? Are they going to put another? There's two, there's multiple soccer games. Yeah, there's multiple soccer games. Launched during a time when developer Camelot was proving itself as Nintendo's Sports Powerhouse. Compared to its predecessors, it's genuinely beautiful. The GBA was an absolute haven for bright and colorful adventures and advanced tour benefits greatly from the system.

Systems then advanced capabilities. Oh, they say more. Yeah. Those private, those vibrant visuals are just the face of a game that takes the proven and perfected RPG structure from KMLAT's previous sports games and introduces even more Mario characters and locations to the mix. I wish they'll bring that back. Let's build our own Mario Sports RPG. We're almost there with the Mario Tennis Fever adventure. It's just you got to structure it different.

Yeah. Because they have the stats. They have the explorable space with characters and stuff. Okay. They have mini games and weird shit. It's like take out the mini games and just replace them with more Tennessee games. Okay, okay, okay. And not Tennessee is in the state.

There's so much fun to play. They're so insane to play. It's nonstop action. Is this the one on the Wii? Yeah, this is the Wii one. I don't think I ever played this one. Can we play this? And you have to hold the thing sideways

and play it and then like some of your buddies had the actual controllers. How do we do a stream of this? I want to play this game. We got to buy a Wii. I think I have a Wii. I have a tub with a Wii in it. Yeah.

So we just got to buy the game. We'll go by the game. All right. I will say like a strikers games from that era, GameCube and Wii, like the most stylized and like the coolest Mario has ever like been presented.

Yes. Let's just admit it. I'm surprised no Mario Golf from the N64. And the. game, and the Game Boy as well, like you said, but like, yeah, no Mario Golf N64, surprising to me. I know I'm sure they've only gotten better and better on those handheld.

I think that's the thing, yeah. Man, that first one was terrific or, you know, my N64 one was terrific. Yeah. I, the only thing I can't abide by is Mario Hoops three on three being better than the N64 Mario tennis game, but I get why you do that, right? Like, you have so much tennis and golf representation. Yeah. So, like, well, Mario Tennis 1064.

on there. Sorry, Mario Golf. It's better. Mario Golf has before is what I meant. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think, you know what? I'm pretty pleased with this list. I was going to say, I feel like, I'm not mad at this list.

But I think they nailed it. They had Game Boy advanced. They had 3DS. That's when they really had their shots. You had the Wii in the GameCube. You covered the spot. I think you covered on everything you needed to cover here. Yeah, you rounded third.

But I really like the game. I think the core of it is very good. The characters, the stadiums, and the rackets all have enough of, like, variety and fun. That's like, I would never get bored there.

And I like that they have so much. I'll give it number, I'm like a 7 to 10 guy. I think I'm bouncing basketball off for sure. I think I'm putting in that 7 to 10 range. I mean, I'm so high on it. I mean, if you want to bring it down because of the adventure mode, then yeah, I think in that 7 to 10 range, I can see. If I'm just going by the amount of fun I'm having with this game,
