What's up and welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Of course, I'm your host, Tim.
I'm joined today by Snowbike Mike.
Good morning, Tim.
Blessing at Aeoia Jr.
Good day, Tim.
And Andy Cortez.
It's all about persistence.
One of these men is not like the other.
Andy Cortez, you have played Eldon Ring, Night Rain.
Twice.
Twice.
We'll get it to.
This weekend, I imagine all three of you will be playing this game.
I unfortunately will not be.
I'll be out of town.
So I get to miss out on the big weekend.
Damn.
Yeah.
Mess up.
You too, I'm sure.
Well, the unfortunate thing is I do have the code, but the timing on when the servers
are open are unfortunate because on February 14th, Valentine's Day from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. are the
hours.
That's prime time.
That's prime time, baby.
That's when you want to be on.
I will be free.
And so I will be.
I will be playing this game.
I will be playing this game.
Let's go.
Yes.
When you guys put that together and you're like, damn, on Valentine's,
Times and Saul's like, well, they know their market, you know?
3 a.m. to 6 a.m.
You want to change it? Hit me up.
And then 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
So that'll be my first, you know, sort of going at this little network test.
Because 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. can't be there.
That's crazy.
Because Friday, what are we doing, Mike?
We are doing a very special stream.
Blessing is ready to step up and play Dark Souls 1 for real this time.
For real, for real.
For real.
We are kicking Kevin out of the same.
studio. I said, blessing, I will get him out of the studio. We will make it. I will be there for you. I want to
be support. I want to watch you experience this. Wow. And also like a birthday weekend for me,
like from the heavens. Oh, wait. That is so true. Hanging out with Blessing to watch Blessing play
Dark Souls. One was something I've wanted my whole life. Tonight rain to my first playthru ever
of Dark Souls 2. It's just going to be like, you never played through Dark Souls 2. No, I was always
holding that one up. Oh. NBA Allsour Weekends?
NBA All-Star weekend is in San Francisco.
Yeah, tomorrow, they're doing a live
showing of the NBA on TNT
with the whole gang, free to
free to go.
Mike was like, thinking about it, we should go.
And I was like, oh, what are the prices looking like?
He's like, probably going to be like $2,000 and minimum.
Yeah, yeah.
Where are the NBA players hanging out this weekend?
Because how do we get there?
Oh, that's great.
How do we get to those clubs?
How do we get to those clubs?
That's all the clubs downtown.
Like, oh, I mean, it's good.
Every time this happens, they always go to the same
like four clubs around you.
Hunter pets, yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
I'm sure they're going to be there.
But anyways, this is the kind of funny games cast each and every weekend, weekend, weekday.
Andy's weekend on the mind.
You know what I mean?
That's a big birthday weekend.
We get together to talk about the biggest reviews, previews, and topics in video games live on YouTube, Twitch, and podcast services around the globe.
If you love what we do, you can support us with the kind of funny membership.
You get the shows ad-free.
You can watch live as we record them.
and you get a daily exclusive Greg way.
And when Greg's not here,
someone else does the Greg way.
I don't know who's doing it today,
but Greg's not here.
I check the calendar once I got in.
It's me.
It's me.
I know I'm doing it one day this week,
but I think it's tomorrow.
That shit was a sneak attack
when I saw it on the calendar.
I was like, oh, let's film our magic game.
That's a good idea.
That's a good idea.
These boys are addicted to magic.
Any three, five minutes they have.
And I'll take my turn.
It's hilarious.
I'll pass my turn.
back to you. It's great. For a chance
to be part of this show, if you have any questions
about Eldon Ring Night Rain, please
super chat them in. Or if you have any questions
or words of support for Bless in his first Dark Souls
Playthrough, send him through. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
A little housekeeping for you. Today's a little bit weird.
There was no Games Daily yet. We're going to do that later in the day
because after this Gamescast, we're going to be
doing a stream that is going to be Joey and Roger playing some of that
movie trivia. Then after that, at one
30, we are going to reunite here at this desk for the pre-show of PlayStation's state of play.
Then we'll react to the state of play.
And then the Games Daily will be the post show of all the news that they announce at the state of play.
Real quick, are you guys excited for this PlayStation State of Play?
It's all about persistence, Tim.
Yeah.
It's all about persistence.
I got my blood-borne shirt on.
Ready to rock.
Yeah.
We're going to get a bunch of Xbox announcers probably in.
Forca.
Forza.
That'd be a big deal.
Indiana Jones.
Fingers crossed for that metal gear.
release date. I'm hoping.
I'm hoping. That's not going to
happen. And
then if you're a kind of funny member, you can get to
the Greg way that will be blessing.
Maybe playing magic. You'll have to wait.
Definitely. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Delaney
Twine and Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and
Karen Linder. Today were brought to you by Rocket Money,
Shady Rays, and BetterHelp, but we'll tell you
all about that later.
For now, let's start with
the topic of the show.
Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tats, Tats.
Andy Cortez.
Hey, Tim.
You went down to sunny Los Angeles.
Vegas first.
Dirty Las Vegas.
Dirty Las Vegas.
To play some Eldon Ring Night Rain.
Something happened.
You came home and then you went down to sunny Los Angeles.
Sunny, La, yeah, Irvine.
Went to Irvine.
Slightly sunny Irvine.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
You know, we went to...
What happened?
Well, the first event was supposed to be in Vegas.
And it was a little bit kind of close to the fires happening in Los Angeles.
So they said, let's move it to Vegas.
We'll move it to Vegas.
And that's what...
where, you know, kind of a last minute audible.
Cool, no problem.
Went to the MGM.
Second time in Vegas in the last like six months or whatever from the Sonic event thing.
It was like, didn't expect to come back here ever again, you know?
And just a lot of network issues.
The Nat types, Mike, you know what I mean?
Bumping walls.
You try to have firewalls.
If you have a closed Nat type, there was just a lot of connection problems.
And they kept assuring us, guys, this is not the way the game is meant to be experienced.
Or this is not the way the game actually plays.
We promise you this shit rocks and we're so sorry about this.
And it's like, it's all good.
It's unfortunate.
But I was there for our play session for about three and a half hours and I got to play
maybe a total of 30 minutes, just a lot of disconnections.
Or if we were deep into a run, Lucy James or Tam would bow out and we'd be like,
just keep going.
Just keep going with a run.
See how far you get in this Eldering Night Ring game.
And they flew me out again on Friday.
past Friday to L.A. and said, let's give it another shot.
And that's where I got to play
around four hours of Alden Ring Night Rain.
Eddie Cortez. The brand new video game
from From Software. And if you all remember Tim,
they show this shit off.
I'm just like,
it feels kind of cheap.
I don't love this. I don't love the idea of it.
I'm sure in practice it'll work out.
But it feels that you're kind of,
this is a bastardization of...
It felt like the Middle Gear survive of the opening.
Yes. Yes. This,
feels like, you know, capitalism in full swing.
You know, like the thing that's so magical and amazing to you, this journey that you've
gone on, you know, what if we just made it a multiplayer type of thing?
I'm like, oh, I don't love that.
And when we did the fantasy critic thing, Greg picked it.
And I was like, I don't know.
I don't think that's like a super safe pick, you know.
I think that maybe it comes out and isn't fully well thought out.
And I was just wrong about it all, Tim.
Just wrong about all of it.
Oh, yeah.
How happy.
Does that make you?
I was so happy playing this video game.
I almost missed my flight on the way back.
Tell me about it.
What I want to know first is how similar is it to the Eldon Ring experience?
Well, it's a different version of Limgrave.
It's Limbeld.
It's supposed to be a alternate universe sort of thing.
It just really feels like one of the best fan mods you'd ever see on Nexus mods.
Like this feels like it is Eldon Ring.
It's Eldering through and through.
Your characters have different abilities and movements that make you feel like all the characters in order to differentiate them.
Let's give that character class the Bloodbourne Dash.
Let's give every character a sort of climb and mount ability where a lot of these characters have insanely double speed sprint now to get around this map quicker.
This is a multiplayer roguelight.
It feels like you're playing a single player battle royale.
game.
There's no other teams, right?
It's just you all.
But you are on a race against a clock.
A race against the wall of rain, the night rain, Tim.
The rain will come in at night.
Nothing cooler than a night rain.
And it is hectic.
It is chaotic.
It is, you are, it is split decision.
It's the only time I've ever felt like snow bike Mike in a war zone match where
each time, you know, this most recent time I played with two other people from other
outlets, but the first time was with a lamb and twosy, Tam and Lucy.
And with Tam and Lucy, God bless their hearts, kind British people, not loud, annoying
Americans like us, so quiet in this big-ass auditorium where we don't have in-ear comms,
but they're playing, we're on a larger table and they're playing like Eldon Ring music above
to kind of make the vibes feel right for this event.
And God bless Lucy.
She's just sitting there.
She's like, I think we should go over here.
Lucy, I need you to speak up right now.
Like, you guys are so quiet and calm and polite.
But I need you to be like, let's go to Green Ping right the fuck now.
It just wasn't a great environment for this first play through, for this first playtest.
The second one, though, quiet Bandai Namco offices in Irvine.
Lovely area to be in.
Lovely.
Just like, we're out of, we're just a conference table.
And I'm Snowbike Mike on the battlefield.
We go to Green Pene right the fuck now because the wall's coming in.
We get that.
We hit that church.
we can get another flash charge.
Let's hit up this day.
Dude, it was just like,
I couldn't stop.
I wanted to play this game forever.
The wall's coming in, you said.
Yeah, let's set the stage really quick.
Set the stage.
Because like, I think we've seen,
you do drop in like it's Fortnite,
like a battle royale.
The map pops up, Mike,
and it's straight up like,
are we dropping Greasy Grove or where are we going?
You know what I mean?
So set the stage.
It is a full-on, like, island map,
we'll call it similar to a battle royale.
Of course, Eldon Ring.
And you actually do kind of fly in
and drop into a,
certain wherever you want to go.
Also, is this your gameplay?
No, this is all,
this is provided B-roll
from Bandai Namco.
They didn't let us record, unfortunately.
And so, yes, you and your
squad are flying in,
and
based on what I've heard
other people mention,
is that this is all
predetermined drops.
And...
What do you mean by that?
Like, they're gonna...
They know where we're gonna go automatically?
Well, I think that
all of that will change
when the actual game
comes out because what you're about to experience this weekend is the closed network test which
is a lot more structured you're you know you're getting a small pool of random randomized bosses
and the world also isn't changing around you you're not getting you know sort of this procedural
now this swamp pops up here now this whatever you know like that's not happening this map is
very structured and they're mainly doing this to kind of stress test the multiplayer and internet
functions but you drop into a world you pick from up to four classes
in the future that will be up to eight.
All these characters have different stats, different abilities.
They are the tank, the mage, the, you know, quick rogue-like character.
And you are dropping into a space and it's like,
we need to immediately get into battle to get runes to find all of the,
any sort of side of grace that we could go level up at.
Because you need to level up as quickly as possible.
You need to get as strong as possible, as quickly as possible.
and it is, again, it is hectic.
And it's going to take some time.
I see in the gameplay, like, you know,
sometimes I'll do the walking beauty shots.
You can't do that shit.
You're like, fucking running around.
What do I want?
What I have, do it?
Like, it is almost a little overwhelming at first.
Are we sharing runes?
Like you said, our goal is to get kills,
which then give us rewards, which is ruins,
and then go to the side of grace.
Are we sharing ruins or is it kind of,
hey, Andy, share a little bit with me, stop killing everything.
You are sharing ruins.
Everything is all shared.
Enemies get killed.
Mini bosses will pop up on the map.
All that stuff, all those runes get shared, right?
The more dangerous, the bosses, the mini bosses will give you a lot more ruins,
and you could possibly level up a whole lot of times, right?
You are not sharing ground loot, though.
If you walk up to an area, you see you some boxes.
Shout out to this game, allowing you to break crates that then drop loot.
Because anytime, you know, from software will put up.
put a room full of 9,000 crates and none of them will ever have loot.
That's just not what they do.
In this game, there is loot in a lot of these little crates.
You break them.
And if you, you know, decide to pick up that item, about three or four items will pop up.
And they could be anything from throwing knives to throw, you know, the expletable jars and
shit like that.
It's all sorts of, all the consumables that you have in Eldon Ring.
You can pick up from a lot of these different things, including weapons or whatever.
and all that ground loot is not shared.
So you have to say, all right, I'm going to take this
because this is good for what I'm doing right now.
Now, however, if there's a weapon on the ground
that you're like, do I want this or not?
Pick up every weapon you can.
Because every weapon, there's no equip load.
You don't got to worry about going overweight in this game.
There's no over-encumbrance.
You pick up every weapon you can
because you have six slots to do so
because every weapon has like a passive to it
every weapon might have like this gives you bleed
this gives you whatever
regardless of whatever you're using
all of the passives and all the abilities
that any weapon has all of that is all accumulated
for yourself so like you're still getting
all of the perks from everything you have equipped
um
you're picking up again you know we're saying right here
you could pick up a little thing that gets you more
the gold pickled foul foot Tim
you eat one of those suckers.
I'm so happy.
You eat a little chicken leg.
You get more rudes,
whatever you're in battle, right?
And the way it's structured is,
it is night by night by night.
The first time you drop,
day one pops up.
Let's go fight.
Let's go do whatever we can.
And then eventually the wall will start closing in.
Is that the wall?
The fire?
Yes.
The wall of rain starts closing in
and it will eventually,
at the end of the night,
close in to a randomized spot
where your first boss encounter will happen.
Now, in the closed network test, again, small pool of bosses to choose from.
Anything from eldering bosses to Dark Souls bosses.
You know, one of the bosses you fight in Night Rain is the centipede demon, which is something from Dark Souls 1.
And so a lot of these randomized enemies will pop up.
What does that mean lore-wise?
Nothing really.
It's just like, let's just have a big pool of bosses to have fun with.
and these bosses, once you beat them, you complete night one, right?
And then that's when you get like a bunch of loot to pick up or whatever,
and then you'll have the option to choose from three perks.
And these are not shared.
These are like only for you.
So every enemy, every your squadmate has different perks you're choosing from.
So it's like that Hades sort of thing, do I want this perk?
Do I want this perk?
Do I want this perk? Do I want this perk?
Some of them might be useless.
Some of them you're like, ah, I guess I'll go with this.
this is my only good option.
Or some might be,
oh, I get health back whenever I do a critical hit.
And I do the stick, you know.
And that was like, oh, cool.
If I can get health back, I love that.
Let's kind of have that going for this run.
And then you begin night two, or day two, rather.
And you do the same loop.
Now, the enemies that you've killed are already dead on the map.
You've got to go explore the rest of the map to go kind of continue to level up.
Rinse and repeat.
Circle will close.
night two begins and the next boss will happen
and that'll be another randomized boss
so for what we experienced
the night one bosses were centipede demon
and it was those
big sort of like rat looking creatures Mike
you know the queen
the wolf people yeah yeah yeah I don't know what the hell they are
yeah um that was night one bosses
night two bosses was Margaret
along with some other dudes,
Margaret the Felomen,
and then the other option
that could have popped up randomly
was a bunch of the like tree sentinel people.
The big guy, the dudes on the horses.
A bunch of them.
Like a dude on a horse with two homies.
Oh shit.
And it was,
that was real hard.
That's what I'm like,
let's balance that one.
This is way too hard.
Like we're getting our asses handed to us
right here on this run.
You're saying that it's too hard.
I'm interested in this because a lot of what you're saying
sounds like this is
prioritizing the fun, which
every time you guys have ever talked about
Eldon Ring or any of these Souls games to me,
that seems to not be the priority,
the lore and the experience,
and the atmosphere and all of that,
that seems to be the priority.
How much does this actually feel like Eldon Ring?
Is it the right amount?
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, you're getting all the weapons
from the Eldon Ring catalog
because the loot that you're picking up
is all rarefied.
So you'll get white loot, or you get blue loot, or you'll get the purple legend or epic,
and then you get the gold legendaries.
Those are really, really rare to find.
It still feels core, at its core, still feels like Eldon Ring because you are getting a bunch of different enemies from the world,
a bunch of different bosses from the world, and the structure and the world design and the assets that you're using that you're running by.
It's all from Eldon Ring.
But again, this does feel like the best fan mob.
made ever where you know there's a lot of mods out there that are randomizers and you can get
like randomized bosses at certain moments or um even with me mike and nick doing the seamless co-op
elven ring thing where they you know modders will kind of tweak the systems here and there
to kind of make the experience a little bit better this feels like the best version of all of those
it is so much fun you're so right tim it does prioritize the fun in making everything kind of less
of a hassle
the
whenever you want to level up at a side of grace
you can do so
with having a bunch of runes but you're not
leveling up
Mike you'll never have a moment where you get to the level up
and go do I put this point into strength
or do I put it into
magic or do it's
whatever your class is it makes that
character class stronger I was going to ask
you what does that look like because you talked about
four predetermined classes
already that we'll choose from eight on the way, right?
But when I'm jumping in and leveling up, so you're telling me it already has a
predetermined path. It will level for me.
I'm just kind of following that path.
Yes, yes.
Because of the class you're picking, you're kind of picking your play style because of the
character that you're selecting.
Now, that doesn't mean that you are stuck to whatever that character can do.
It just means that if you try to go outside of that, you know, if you pick the
tank character and decide you want to go magic.
you can do it, but it's probably not recommended.
Your characters can pick up any weapons they want.
They can use whatever the hell they want.
It's just not super recommended,
because if you pick the recluse character,
or the Duchess character,
the Duchess is like the super fast,
kind of like stabby stab.
She starts with a little dagger.
She has the bloodborn sort of swift bloodhound step almost,
like Dodd sort of thing.
And you're not going to want to,
you're picking her because of her speed.
You're not, you don't want to equip her with a gigantic,
gigantic axe or something, you know, unless it's available and maybe that's your only option.
And maybe the axe that you picked up on the ground is stronger than what you got,
then go for it.
But once you go level up, you just hit level up, bam, your character's stronger.
And going from level one to level two, incredibly important.
We found ourselves in a death spiral in one of our runs where we saw Loretta out in the field.
Loretta, Tim.
I'll tell you about Loretta.
Lady, she rides a horse.
she rides a horse we've all known a Loretta
in her lives
she rides a horse
she's got magic
fucking things
and she'll like hit you
with like a spectral bone arrow
and this mini boss
Loretta popped up in the middle of the field
and we're like oh let's
we can take all Loretta
you know we level up to level two
let's try to take her on
and we get killed
out of nowhere
I was like
oh damn it dude that sucks
when you die
yeah
die in real life
when you die
when you die
when you die
you go down
I don't
knee? Like you
kneel down and I got to come res you?
You are Fortnite crawling around.
You are Fortnite crawling around
and you're going, help me, help me, help me, help me.
I'm down, I'm down. And the only
way for your teammates to bring you back up,
it's not, they're not going to go the boring route, Tam. You're not going to walk up
and just hold the Y button and just sort of sit there.
You attack your teammate to bring them back up.
I like that. And it makes zero sense.
I like that. It makes zero sense. It makes zero sense.
I like it.
so much cooler than any other res.
It is so much better.
Like,
especially in the moments where like
one of my teammates was down and I'm running to it.
I'm going to do a big jump heavy and I just like
completely undershot the jump and just whiffed and like my sword landed real short.
But your character can,
what's really cool is your character can crawl towards an enemy and if you attack both,
you're res and your character,
your homie and you are hurting the enemy as well.
Can you build it up?
I heard people do this before.
Yeah.
Can you build it up?
up like a half hit blessing and then I come back a second later and keep going.
What's that gauge look like?
If you wait too long, the way it's broken up to, it's,
imagine like a circle ring broken up into thirds.
Okay.
Night one, the downed time is only one little bar of a third, right?
That's cool.
Now, if you attack them, if you wait too long, they'll either die due to time or the bar will
kind of fill back up.
So you have to kind of like stay on them.
keep that pressure on.
And every night, then night two is going to have two bars.
Night three is going to have the full sort of circle or whatever.
If you die and your teammate isn't able to res you,
you come back immediately.
You respond sort of nearby, but you go down a level.
So we got into the death spar with this lady Loretta on this fucking horse with her spectral bow and arrow.
Got to a death bar where we were all back to level one.
And we were like, ah, shit.
And I was like, let's just keep going.
let's keep trying to kill her at level one.
And all the Bandai Nanco employees were going around.
It's like, yeah, probably not a great call.
You probably want to go level up.
I was like, no, we're going to get her.
Excuse me.
Do you know who the fuck?
I'm the nitro.
The fucking nitro.
I beat Sorcei Neesion and 12 tries.
Okay.
So it's like, we're going to kill Loretta.
But we're all level one.
And we notice it immediately going down from level two to level one.
We're getting hit in one shot.
We're barely chipping damage.
So we got her down to a third of her health.
And that third lasted a long time.
Because we'd come back, get a maybe couple more hits in.
Several ress later, we were finally able to take her down.
And because of how, you know, because she's a much more difficult mid sort of boss,
she gave us a shitload of runes that we were able to level up to like level four or five.
And so we boosted it.
And they're like, wow, you guys kind of, I can't, I wouldn't have recommended that,
but that's awesome that you all did that.
And I'm like, squad, we got this shit, dude.
We're stubborn.
And that, we're so stubborn.
And that run, we went really, really far.
And it was like, man, that run was completely fucked at the start of it.
But we somehow, like, the smarter move would have just been,
let's just go back to lobby and restart, you know?
Quick question from the chat.
They wanted to know, can you res at range, of course?
Like, you know, with the magic bill or even the bow and arrow.
What is that like shooting your friend, I guess, from far away?
Is there an auto lock on where my spells will come out at my down teammate?
Yes, you can.
And maybe we can talk about character classes.
after awards for our sponsors.

And they don't want to get to some super chats here.
Energy drink.
Exactly.
It's a brand new flavor, by the way.
Ultra Blue Hawaiian Monster.
That's a full can.
Are you half in this can or is this a full can?
No, this is a full can.
This does not have a dab of the do.
There's no dab in the dude.
Also, I need fucking Jordan Midler to chill the fuck out with coming after like the energy drink crown.
Back to fuck off, Jordan Midler.
He likes energy drinks.
Like he, you know, I'm the energy drink guy.
Okay, chill the fuck out.
Andy is that guy.
We do stuff different here in America.
Andy's lifeblood is.
I didn't even realize they had energy drinks over there.
Me either. It feels like it would be something to be outlawed.
Yeah, that's kind of like how they outlaw like guns in Australia.
Yeah.
Like a very similar thing.
Like what y'all need the energy for?
Y'all don't get sunned.
Rails, uh, super chats in saying this is for Andy's birthday and the state of play.
Oh, congratulations.
Thank you.
Going on there.
Uh, daughter says Vatsy came out with the vid praising his play through.
So, so he was watching my gameplay.
Yeah.
There you go.
Uh, the Uncharted Wolf says,
Is there any new music, or is it mostly reused tracks?
Really hard to tell because of our sort of audio situation.
It was one headphone on, one headphone off,
because we were trying to hear our squad mates.
So, yeah, it was really hard to tell.
But I did hear a lot of just reused Elton Ring tracks.
Nicholas Chambers says,
Andy's back, just wanted to say, go birds.
Fucking Eagles.
You don't like the birds?
Yeah, but better than the chiefs.
Yeah, better than the chiefs.
No.
T.O, man.
No, they don't need a three.
The Scape Bellis would call him the T-Mobliterator.
He would, like, he would kill it.
That's an insane name.
T-O. The T-Mobliterator, yeah.
Wow.
It's kind of a stretch, but I like it.
Who did Robin says, much love to kind of funny.
Glad to be a member for another month.
Andy, are there permanent upgrades in between runs like other roglox?
Yes. Yes, there are.
After every run you complete, you're going to get rewards.
And the rewards are,
these little sort of gem
currencies that you get
and when you go back to your roundtable hold
you can kind of run around and
I was telling blessing that the
the character the Duchess
which is the sort of rogue character
really quick got the little dagger
all of the NPCs are kind of hanging out
in the roundtable hold so whatever character
you're playing at as the moment
or at that moment that character
isn't in the roundtable hold but if you're
kind of running around. You'll see the Duchess there. You'll see
the Guardian and the Guardian is
big tank dude with a... He's a bird. He's like
an eagle head with like a little eagle feet.
It's really funny looking.
And
but I was something blessing that I'm pretty sure that the same voice
actress for the Duchess is the
voice actress for the doll
and Melina, the doll
and Bloodborn and Melina and Eldon Ring.
But the... Yes, the permanent upgrades
there was...
There's some stuff that they're kind of not
revealing yet that they're waiting for on release.
And there's a lot of people in the room asking the same questions that I was to these people.
And the response would always be maybe not now, but when the game comes out there may be something
like that.
It's like, okay, you're, you know.
So what happens is you would get these different color gems of different sizes.
So bless and Mike, whenever you pick up those run kind of pushtules that you pop,
Some are, they get much larger and they give you more and more runes, right?
Similar concept where these gems are, the smaller sizes they are, the less perks that they offer,
and they're different colors.
So it's like green, red, yellow, and blue.
I don't think that, I couldn't tell that they were themed anyway other than colored.
Like, the red wasn't fire and the green wasn't like, I don't know, health or whatever the fuck.
It was just all, they were all just kind of like varied perks from what I,
could tell. But what they were is like the better the runs you get, you'd get like tiny little
runes and each character has three slots that they could fit these colored gems into. Now the thing
is, uh, the each character class, you can't just, you know, the Wilder, for example, is kind
of like the, the Mario of, uh, he's the Jack of All Trades. He's the Mario and Mario card
of Smash Bros, you know? He's the guy that like, if you don't know what to play, you probably
play as that character.
And I believe the color gems that the Wilder accepted,
because again, they all accepted three.
I think he had like two yellow slots and a red slot, I believe.
And then the Duchess, who is the super fast sort of like dagger lady,
she had three green slots.
So if I want to play the Duchess and I,
my last run, I only got like red and yellows,
I'm like, maybe I'll put those slots into the Wilder and I'll try out the Wilder
because I have those gems that go towards his skills.
or whatever. And those things can be, again, the small they are, they might offer only one
perk of like plus one dexterity or the larger ones might offer three different perks. And like one
of the perks might be if you defeat a boss in one of the Everjail areas, like if you defeat an
enemy there, you become stronger. And that might be one of the perk. And the second perk might be
extra critical damage on whatever the fuck. Like it's, you know, it's all stuff that you want.
for your run.
There are class
related perks and
for example...
I'm sorry, I need to call it Lemon Bendy in the chat.
Yeah, you saw that.
Sounds like it's time to put a gem in my
brown slot.
Okay. I mean, I don't think you needed to read it.
I had to read it.
I had to read it. Y'all needed to hear it.
What shade is the gem?
Oh my God. I'm sorry. I mean, you better have a
flared base. I like that one. I like that one.
Some of the
some of the...
Bear Nass was shaving is.
Some of the gems are class-based, but we noticed that, you know, let's say the Duchess who only use green gems.
She has three green slots for three green gems.
I got like a red gem at one point, and it said parentheses Duchess on it.
I was like, wait a second.
This red gem can't be used for the Duchess, but it says it's only available for the Duchess.
And they were like, well, maybe in the future you will have a way to change what slots you use.
And you'll also, what we're assuming is there's going to be a vendor at the roundtable hold that you go back to.
And you could sell gems to because in our gameplay in this preview that you're going to get the closed network test,
you have the ability to sell these gems with all these perks.
But those don't want to sell them to in the test.
So you're not going to have that ability yet.
But you will be able to sell some stuff back to either get roons or get whatever the hell you want.
And then I assume that you'll not only be able to buy different gems on the store or whatever,
but I assume that you'll be able to
change what colored slots
your character uses. So the Duchess,
if you really like using that character and you have a sick as red gem,
maybe I'll swap out one of the green gems for the red things,
you know,
to kind of like give you the player more freedom in that case,
a little bit more flexibility.
Sorry,
I feel like you already made this clear,
but there's only three people playing, right?
You're not like your three aren't coming across other threes or anything?
No, it's not PVP.
And how does this work?
So let's break it down from the beginning.
It's three people.
You can't play solo.
You can play solo offline.
Can you play duos.
Can not play duo.
So it's always three or offline solo.
The only way you could play duos is if you had a third log on and then disconnect at the NGM Grand Hotel.
The only way you can play duos.
And then when you're in the menu, how does it look as like a normal like, I guess, Fortnite
of Warzone lobby where I send you an invite and you're in my like little party lobby?
or, you know, I think of online and Eldering
and how stressful that is just to try to get each other with the signs.
It's, what does it look like at the beginning here?
It's just like Wars.
It's got menus all over the goddamn place.
You know, can I buy Snoop Dog?
Can I buy fucking Nickymanage in the game?
You think they'll hit us with the micro-transactions?
Maybe.
Yes, come on.
The answer is yes.
Look at everything that they show about this game.
I can't fucking believe how hype you are about this.
Every single that you started to be like,
this just looks like capital is in the game
and then I saw them jump out of a Fortnite bus
This is crazy
I'm gonna be hanging off the coolest glider around
Fuck yeah
They're not gonna do that
You're gonna be able to customize your bird
You're gonna be able to customize
What these different characters
Are types look like for your account
You're gonna have to pay real money
To change the colored gems
That Andy was just talking about
I believe this is the
The com
The person leading this up
Is the combat director for
I think the Dark Souls 3 DLCs
and this was just something that he really wanted to make
and was like, I really want this experience.
And duh, because whenever we would play multiplayer,
it's like, oh, why isn't this easier?
So what it looks like, Mike, is the multiplayer stuff
is just multiplayer password.
I love it.
You type in a password and you say, join my lobby.
And bam, you're in there.
And then I think at the beginning of the video
before our characters get out on their hawk to us in the air,
you get the same sort of thing
just like in war zone of like
Oh they give you the speech?
You know just like this little walk up
Like this cutscene plays every time
And it tells you like what character you've selected
And you see your squad mates walking out there
Imagine this but like one of us is like LeBron
Oh man
Yeah
It's so amazing
Nick is Robocopy
Yeah
Can we all be the same class
Or do we have to be three separate classes?
You could be all the same class
Yeah, you could be whatever you want
Yeah so the classes
four different ones for this closed network test
and I'm not sure if there's going to be eight available
when the game comes out
but they kept saying and there will be four
extra ones. I don't know if that's going to be immediately
at launch so maybe it launches with two
and then they do two later. I have no idea.
But the four classes,
the Wilder like I mentioned the Mario,
the Jack of All Trades.
This dude is
still super awesome. Like probably one of my
the second most favorite character I have.
He has a normal sort of Eldon Ring, Dark Souls, Dodge Roll, like you would come to expect.
The passive ability for the Wilder, the Wilder can withstand any sort of death blow.
So if they take a hit that would have killed them or would have knocked them down,
you'll see like a little kind of thing flash, and the character does like a backflip,
and their back up for, you know, their health kind of comes back.
So they can withstand one sort of death hit.
That's cool.
But the abilities they have, the grapple, like Tim was seeing Earth,
where you can grapple small enemies towards you
or you can grapple towards a larger enemy
obviously because they weigh too much.
And you can also grapple in the environment
to kind of get a way out of the actions.
You can kind of like grapple the ground over there.
Think of the grapple gun in Fortnite, Mike,
you know what I mean?
Like kind of grapple the ground, grapple that thing.
Oh, that's kind of cool.
Get the fuck out of Dodge so you don't have to withstand
any more enemy pressure.
And maybe get out of the fight to kind of heal up a bit
and get your bearings a bit better.
And the ultimate is this really cool,
fire blast thing that does a lot of stagger damage
and it gets enemies a lot closer to kind of getting into that staggered state
but what it also does is it knocks your character back
so it's really cool to kind of get back out of the fight
if you know I just want to go I was using it a lot in big enemy mobs
where our teammate might be under pressure because there might be three dudes
kind of circling and swarming everybody and I would go in with my ultimate boom
and it would have a nice ao-o-e that would take out like
everybody and your character flies back
can get out of the
sort of combat scenario a little bit quicker
and again, heal up, do whatever
you got to do. The Wilder,
a lot of fun. Very much a strength
and dexterity type character. You're going to want to use
either, you know, broadsword,
hammer, axe, whatever the hell you really
want with this character can be used. And it's
always fun and it feels great.
And again,
pick up every weapon you can.
If your homies are like,
I don't need that, actually, just leave that there.
Pick it up, because that passive is going to work for,
you know, whatever the weapon has as a passive
will eventually get added into your sort of abilities or whatever.
The other characters, the Duchess is the one I keep talking about,
the Fast Lady.
She's super cool.
She's got the Bloodborn Dash.
It feels great.
Movement, it's awesome.
All these characters are fast as fuck when they're running
and going towards the next fight
or going towards the next
POI point of interest.
They all move at the same speed,
but then when they're kind of in battle,
they have a bit sort of like different walking speeds
and things like that.
So this is the Duchess.
They're using the Bloodhound Fang,
which you can't just find the Bloodhound Fang.
You can use...
Huh?
Don't worry about it.
Bloodhound Fang.
Bloodhound Fang.
Great weapon.
Everybody knows this goddamn weapon in Elman Ring.
I bought it a couple times from a vendor
because there's little vendors around the world.
Ooh.
There's a little map piece.
that you could find in treasure boxes that are kind of hidden and the map pieces will show more on the map
the map pieces will show little um uh god-dain you know the little dung beels that roll around
tim knows these little dung beetles oh yeah yeah bashing the dung bills but they but those dudes now they
drop talismans so they drop like a full ass passive of like oh shit this gives me extra whatever
there's a lot of like stats and passives and like did it ever feel overwhelming to keep track of all of this
buffs you had? No, because I'm just
picking shit up. Yeah. Like, at
first it does. I know Eldon Ring is like that too.
At first it definitely feels that way,
but you get to a point
you're just like, I
don't care what that passive does.
I don't even know if it affects me. None of my
squad mates you're getting, I'm going to pick it up because I'm sure
I'll read it later. And that can
kind of happen where it's like you're so
against the clock. Your clock is always running.
You're trying to hurry up and get to the next
either place that you marked
on the map or you're just trying to get away from the storm.
from the wall of storm that's coming in.
And then in addition to me mentioning how every character is fast as shit,
your sprint button is crazy fast.
It's double the speed of what it usually is in Eldon Ring.
And everybody moves like Sekiro does.
They all have,
they don't have like a,
they don't have all a grappling hook or whatever,
but they can,
if you're ever down like in a real deep sort of part of the map
where you look up,
you're like,
how the fuck am I going to get up there?
All around the map,
there's either a spirit stream,
which is, you know, in the main
Eldering game, you would get on the horse,
and the horse would leap up this spirit stream
that would get you super high, and you can kind of get,
you could relocate, but
there's no horse around. Torrent, he's not here.
He said, you know,
you didn't meet my terms for my contract.
I'm not going to be in this game.
I'm not going to sign with my likeness,
but there's these blue spirit streams
that launched the character up,
and you can go hell high and hell afar
to relocate yourself.
Can I re-deploy my band,
no redeploy, but no fall damage.
Okay.
Fucking no fall damage is amazing.
You can go where the hell you want
not worry about taking any fall damage.
But if there's not a spirit stream,
there's also just really good level design
for a lot of these large-ass cliffs
where there are a bunch of gravestones
built into the cliffs that allow the character
to just Sekiro run and mantle
and jump up, like double jumping
across all these like cliffs
to kind of get up to the very, very top
and relocate yourself.
What we're watching right now is a gameplay for
the... Oh, sorry, let me keep on
talking about the duchess the duchess again that fast character the i couldn't tell what the passive
ability was but the the first ability they have is the whatever damage has been done to an enemy in the
last 90 second or no in the last second and a half so 1.5 seconds if you're fighting a big ass boss
and your squad mate and you sort of coordinate with their team and your team's like hey i'm gonna
ultimate i'm gonna ultimate let's all do this if you see that big health bar just chunk the
fuck down, your character can
activate this ability that
replays any damage. And Bear
just showed it right there and it was great for that
the dog fight that we saw. You saw
the dog fight kind of have like a double image of
itself and that is
showing that the duchess activated
their ability and it replays the damage
that happened in the last second and a half.
That's cool. Dude. And this
shit refreshes
I think with like every seven seconds
you have this ability back. What?
Dude, it, it, it, once I kind of
got into the rhythm of remembering to use that
thing because anytime I'm playing a new
game and there's perks chat
knows they're always like Andy you have that ability it's like I know
I just it's not in my
it's not in my sort of muscle memory yet yeah but
that ability is so awesome
and clutch especially when you are coordinating
with your squad and there was a lot of moments that they're like
I'm gonna oh duchess you got your thing yeah let's fucking go
do that thing boom you see the big explosion
big health hit or if enemies are using bleed and you see the
the bleed take that big sort of bleed
immediately bust that move another dude
it is fucking awesome.
That's nasty.
And their ultimate sounds a little bit boring.
It makes you and your whole squad go invisible,
but it's so clutch to not only reposition yourself,
you're invisible for a long time.
If you attack, you don't go uninvisible.
You stay invisible, but what it's really, really great for
is reshing your squad.
If a squad mate goes down,
I always tried to keep this kind of in my back pocket for,
if a teammate goes down,
pop the ultimate,
crawl towards me or I'll crawl towards you,
they can't see us.
I'm going to res you.
Let's get back up.
Let's get back into the fight.
Super, super,
damn cold.
Tim's making some faces.
You still worry about it.
We've awoken the chat this week.
I've seen it.
I think it's because of the kind of funny podcast,
which you should listen to right now.
Oh,
very horny episode.
I think the chat has taken that because they're very horny.
Yeah.
A lot of stuff being said.
It's crazy.
Crazy behavior.
We're talking about,
wondering, how horny can you get?
I'm glad I'm not really looking.
Montoya woke us all up.
Yeah.
From now on there will be a before Montoya and after Montoya time.
I haven't had an appropriate time to bring this up,
and there is no appropriate time,
so I'm going to do it right now.
My timeline has been, obviously, Montoya, the fuck out.
But there's another thing that's completely unrelated to Montoya
that I'm getting served constantly.
Have you all seen this art installation of the guy covered in white paint?
Oh.
Look it up for me.
What do you mean look it up for you?
It's one of those things where it's like, you type it up.
We cannot watch it.
It is not a reaction thing.
It is a...
You look it up.
Just if you are interested,
you can potentially just search for
white paint
naked man.
Okay, well, I'm not talking about it.
It's wild.
It's absolutely wild.
Speaking of wild, the wilder.
Great class you can pick.
The other character you can pick
is called the Guardian Tank.
This dude is kind of boring-ish.
For me.
He looks cool, though.
Not my place out, but he's got the coolest look.
He's got a cool voice.
You see him in the roundtable hole.
You're like, what's up?
You know, he's like, I'm ready to fight whenever you are.
It's like, ah, you're sick as shit.
You're a bird guy.
You're a fucking bird.
Look at his bird legs, Tim.
We're kind of covering it up right now, but look at his, he just has a little chicken
legs.
Oh, this is the bird guy.
Yeah, it rocks.
It rocks.
He rocks.
He's a lot in this.
This dude moves a lot slower in battle, but has the most HP.
Definitely, like, a massive strength filled.
I'm trying to not look at what Blessing he's got up.
No, it's not, no, no.
I'm so sorry, Andy.
I'm so sorry.
I can't wait to see it now.
It's not that.
I'm hoping you find it.
I just, I want people to know that, like, it's just one of those, like, art installations
where it's like, there's just a bunch of people in a room sitting down and then somebody
comes up and, like, does, like, an interpretive dance or, like, does, like, a painting
or something.
And people are just like, oh, oh, you know, like golf top, whatever.
Someone said they jerk him in the chat.
I mean, there is an extended one, extended version that I did see that have not been able to refype.
Yeah.
But what?
What's happening here?
Yeah, I can't do that.
This man is just covered in white hair.
Like head to toe.
Every part.
And like specifically one part that you cannot miss
because it might be the biggest version of it I've ever seen in my life.
And he's very flexible.
And in the middle of the room, all these people are just looking at him.
Like, oh, like this is real hard.
He's like standing there, stretching stuff.
He gets down to the splits.
Like the horizontal splits, like Van Damme type splits.
With that thing just out.
Oh, just dangling.
And it just like, it paints the floor.
The hog is dangling.
And he pushes it down on the floor.
It's insane.
It's like when you would make a turkey with your hand as a kid was saying.
Exactly.
And then he stands up and just walks away.
I just left his purse.
I've typed it everything.
I've typed in man covered in white paint art installation splits.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, we'll have to talk offline.
Sorry, I had to go back to the Wilder.
Guardian Tank.
Eagle guy.
Eagle legs.
Eagle head.
his ability he does a whirlwind move that kind of does like a little kind of tornado thing
and it staggers large enemies or small enemies will get knocked up into the air
and it's good to kind of like help out your squad whenever they're maybe dealing with a lot of
pressure and his his ultimate is really sick though he flies up into the air and then does like
a dive bomb and it's really really damn cool and it's even cooler whenever your squadmate
gets near an enemy
that maybe your squad mate is down.
Oh shit, Andy.
Damn, it's really gonna paint the floor.
You gotta...
You gotta dip that in the paint can.
Oh, my God.
It's large.
There's only so much you could blur out.
It's blurred out, but I saw the shadow.
Oh, he had to pick it up.
So he didn't smush it.
Yeah.
That's amazing.
It's like when you sit,
down and you got to like pull your like your jacket up.
Every time.
Does it get wrinkled? Yeah. So anyway, it's a good game.
You also check it out. I do have some more super chat for you.
I also have a question. Yes.
So we have Trevor saying if this is played among five days, how long gameplay wise does that
come out to? Five days. Or three days. Three days. Okay. So how long do you have a
successful run about 45 minutes? At the start of every run, you are picking from eight big
gas bosses that seem to be all kind of brand new.
You're not getting a selection of bosses from a pool of old sort of
Eldon Ring stuff or Dark Soul stuff.
You're getting like brand new eight characters.
I never got back to Mike's question about like, can you target people?
Because Mike is a mage.
I'm going to ask you a lot of questions about the mage in a minute.
Okay, cool, perfect.
I'll ask you a lot of questions.
Yeah, a successful run about 45 minutes, but you have to kind of level up and do
well enough to even have a successful run.
We got to the final boss once,
and we got them down to like 40%
health, and we died, and it was awesome. Really,
it's the one that you've seen in the clips,
the three-headed dog,
the sum of a bitch, fucking,
it's really cool because you're not just fighting
in the same area, you're fighting in a brand-new boss arena.
And when you walk there, it's like epic as hell.
It's like this cool-looking gate.
It's like, from software art direction,
like, to hell.
You walk in that gate, big-ass dog is there.
And the second phase of the dog,
this three-headed dog turns into three different dogs.
And it's crazy.
And this fucking, these three different dogs are just kind of all over you.
And our final run, it was so tragic because I'm down.
My homie's down.
And our other squad mate, his name was Garrett.
I don't know where he wrote from, but shout out to Garrett.
Garrett was playing like the eagle guy, I think.
He had a big ass two-handed weapon.
And he was going to...
Whoa.
This is crazy.
The whole time, the whole time, whenever he would run and
jump heavy attack, he would
res most of us in one hit.
So this three-headed dog boss fights awesome. It really
feels like these bosses
are done really well
and designed for three characters, for three
players, which is awesome. Whenever people
mention, like man, imagine if they,
you know, you, Andy, or Andy, you
and Mike and Nick really enjoyed
this seamless call for Eldering. Imagine they did it for
Sekiro. It's like, but Sekiro is so 1V1,
I can't imagine that
with three characters, nor do I really want that. You need
kind of just be monoe-e-mono versus somebody pairing and all that stuff.
This very much feels awesome for that situation.
So my homie Garrett, the dog second phase busts out the three different dogs.
And we're both down and he's the only one alive and he's running towards me and I see him and it's in slow motion, Tim.
I'm seeing this guy running after me and I could tell he's going to do a jump heavy attack to try to hit me.
You know, try to get my res back up.
And in midair, he is fucking doing the heavy and a dog just.
like fucking Goldberg spears him off the screen and it was awesome we were like no it was just like an
awesome sort of like gamer moment um had a had a freaking blast taking on these dudes but again there
will be eight when the game fully launches but for this network test i think this is the only final
boss you can choose from when you get to stage three um very very cool awesome sort of move set
freaking blast are there any like are all the bosses from previous games or do they have original
bosses. Like this three-headed dog, is that something from something previous?
Yeah, so I think all of these eight bosses are brand new things.
Gotcha.
Because that thing has not been seen before.
It looks very similar to like the Red Wolf or whatever that Radagon has, but like,
ultimately these are going to be three brand new bosses that have new movesets.
But the enemies that you're experiencing throughout the world are elder ring bosses
or like we saw the nameless king, we saw centipede demon.
So you said at the beginning of the run, you choose which boss you're going to fight at the
finale essentially.
So it's like, hey, here's a screen
of eight selected characters. No, so we don't,
we only saw one thing, but you are selecting
from one of eight. We only see
in the network test, you're only going to see
you select to go after that. I'm going to fight the three-headed
wolf on day three, that's where it's at.
But if you make it there, yeah. Most likely
we will see a selection of eight. But I'm assuming
because there's a lot of slots for sure. Oh, cool.
Yeah. I was just going to ask
what does like the third day like all
build to? So this was a great
point to get to.
because I saw the B-roll.
So I was like, oh, I was going to try to.
Yeah, it's definitely the most new feeling thing
because everything else is Eldon Ring assets.
Everything looks like Eldon Ring.
Every mine you walk into, every corridor you walk into.
It's all stuff you've seen in Elder Ring, all the same assets.
Other iconic locations where you're like, oh, my God, it's that.
Or is it like a generic Castle that could have easily been in Eldon Ring?
It's all like kind of generic Eldon Ring castles.
There's no like a...
Oh, man, that spot.
No, I was watching Vati's video this morning a bit while I was getting ready for work,
and he was talking to how Kenneth Heights Castle is one of them.
He's the blonde-haired dude that, like, asks to get saved.
He's like, hello, can someone help me?
I love that, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So his castle is, like, in the game.
Now, it also looks like a lot of other castles,
but it's definitely Kenneth Heights because it has, like, this walkway towards a tower that you can climb up.
But, yeah, it's a lot of, now again,
What we're getting with the close network test,
it's not going to be procedurally changing.
We are kind of just getting a set thing.
This is what the world is.
This is what the world will always be whenever you hop in.
Like when me and Tam and Lucy played,
I think 90% of the time that we dropped,
we were dropping in the same spot.
There was only a couple times where it took us to different spots.
I don't know if that was the MGM internet.
I don't know what the randomization there was,
but some players may not love that.
For us, it was awesome because it was like we had a cycle.
It was dropping hospital.
in war zone.
It was like, we have our rhythm.
You were a job in here.
It's like, we take out that camp.
Bam, everybody's done.
Get all the items from there.
Get all the treasure boxes.
And the site of grace is right there.
We level up immediately to level two.
What's next on the map?
And we would kind of go out there.
So you're saying the end goal, though,
not for what we'll see this weekend,
is it will be different
every single time we drop.
The map.
We'll kind of rearrange.
For the end goal, yeah.
For the release of it.
Because they mentioned,
they already mentioned,
I think,
Miyazaki or somebody was
a mention from from software that
there will be poison swamps in the game.
There wasn't a poison swamp that I experienced on this map.
Okay.
So they also mentioned during the pre-
preview where they were kind of going through bullet points
that you might see a volcano
or you might see this and that.
So there's a lot of like variety
that will happen whenever the world resets itself.
It just wasn't apparent there yet
because we were getting a set world.
We got a couple more super chats I want to get to here.
Brown says, why do we live in the timeline where
From Software refuses to have crossplay?
It feels like such a fumble to not have that for a PVE game.
A million percent.
I think this is the
I mean,
Prom Software reminds me a lot of
Nintendo in the way they do things.
This is how we do things.
And you take it and you accept it.
Huh? Weird from soft decisions.
Exactly. Yeah.
And
you know,
I compare my experience with From Software games to
to watching a show like Breaking Bad, Tim.
Where I didn't start watching until season five,
and I was like, man, this show is incredible.
And everybody's like, damn, you're barely kind of like,
it's awesome, but like, man, we've been living this for a long time.
So I was very late to the game with From Soft Games.
But their online stuff,
I feel like what we're getting here online-wise
is like, we're obviously behind the times
because they're not getting crossplay,
but it's already such a massive improvement
to what they've had in the past
when he comes to multiplayer,
where seamless co-op just seems like something
that should be available, and it's not.
Seamless co-op is a mod that was made
because players are like,
God, I hate when I want to play with my friend,
it's like, all right, go to the boss and summon me.
And me and Mike and Kevin A.S.X did a full play through a welding ring
where it is, all right, let's, you know,
all right, we're done.
Do you have it?
Oh, Mike, you ran out of that fucking orange flower?
Damn it, dude, we got to go,
we got to go grind for more of those orange flowers
so that he could bring us into the matchboard.
Like, that's how they've always done things.
I don't love it.
That's how they are.
But they're hearing feedback and they, you know,
it's funny thinking back to less than a year ago
when they're talking about the seamless mod
and they're like, yeah, we're aware that it exists
and we would love to do something like that in the future
and it's clear that this is obviously in development at the time.
But yeah, crossplay, it not being at launch,
does not surprise me because it's from software.
Now, I wish Bandai Namco was like, hey, we should make this crossplay.
Let's, you know, come on.
Let's do this the right way.
Yeah.
But, you know, Chrome Software still doesn't have built-in DLSS.
You know, like, that's how their games are.
You have to, like, download mods to kind of get any sort of of engineering, you know, feats like that.
So Nuggy's right.
To Insane on a scale of E to ask, how quickly does Snowbike Mike pick up the upgrade system?
E for excellent.
E for excellent.
Yeah.
It's a tip top.
Yeah.
About 300.
about 300 hours into his game.
So many hours.
Mike going,
what is E? Is E good?
No, he's the worst.
Yeah, he's the worst.
Yeah, that makes sense.
But he's souls like Mike.
He knows the most about him.
The,
again, you just have to go to a side of grace
and hit level up and that's great.
There's no metagaming.
There's none of that.
It's just like brain off,
hit the button to upgrade,
get back into the fight.
How often do you think Mike will refuse
to level up even though it's been simplified
this time room?
Well, no.
Can you play with risk?
You can.
I won't be there.
Can you play with risk?
I won't be in the party with you.
Yeah.
But yes, you can.
I mean, yeah, we did it.
You know, when my squad was trying to fight fucking Loretta's bitch ass and we're just dying
and not stop at level one.
We could have gone on.
We could have gone on to level up or we could have just restarted the run, but we're like,
no, let's persist here because we're idiots.
But I think the, you know, when you're running around the world, Mike, there will be a
blacksmith.
And the blacksmith will work, will be.
make your wooden
weapons stronger, not just metal
weapons.
Mike didn't...
So I have to go to a carpenter for that.
Yeah, Mike never, Mike never leveled up his
wand because he was like, well, the blacksmith works on metal.
Like this, my wand is wood.
Yes. It's like, well, that's still how
it works. Well, this is the game
for me, because the way they made it sound, it's like
there will be very few
staring at menu times. Yes. It seems like
we're moving and we're always shaking and baking.
Yes, absolutely. And in a lot of these
big encampments, you will see
vendors. And you could either go, ooh, do I want to save these ruins to level up? Or
this vendor selling the Bloodhound Fang? And that shit would go really, really far for this run.
You can also find random smithing stones in these little boxes of treasures that you're finding. That smithing stone can level up.
The standard smithy stone will take a white rarity item to a blue, but then you would need to find
a better smithy stone to get that blue to a purple and a better one to go from purple to legendary.
so there's a lot of that as well
and that's all the stuff that's like
I wish the game could pause in moments like that
because that's where it's like enemies are on me
and I'm just trying to level the shit up with this
Kale guy who's like sitting there and he's like yeah you can buy some shit
you can level up things but it's just so hectic
and I those are the moments where I wish I had a little bit of moment to breathe
my last big question here
before we wrap up the show
do you see yourself playing the living fuck out of this game
for like a long
long time or do you think this is going to be kind of like a hey that was like a fun thing that
happened for a little bit no this is going to be another hadies too for me i can yeah this is
going to be another you know not only try to kill every of the aid bosses how many times is that
going to take how um how much better can i make that run this other class that i wasn't using a
whole lot i now have a lot of upgrades for it i can make it better oh i like this new class now
actually like it has all of it has all of the
variables that make me want to go back and just play forever.
Before we wrap up, though, Mike had questions about your spellcasters.
Yeah. So for the spellcasters out there, right, I guess health potions and maniflask,
what does that look like when you first drop in? How many are you getting? And then also for the
spells, right? Like, I can picture the weapons on the ground. What does a spell look like? How do I get
more spells? Am I capped out of a number of them? What will I look like on day three as a spell
castor.
So you start off with three health flasks and you have a manna.
I don't know if you have...
Can I reset those?
I don't know if you have mana flasks though because I never played this character
called the recluse.
The recluse is the character that everybody at the event, every Bandanamco employee was like,
hey, maybe don't try her first because she's definitely one of, you know, like, you know
when you play like Marvel rivals or Overwatch bless, it'll tell you.
what difficulty the character is.
The recluse is probably one of the harder ones.
Probably the hardest one actually
for this because of what
is required
to kind of manage.
The recluse, whenever an enemy
hits, whenever you hit an enemy
or whenever your squadmates hits an enemy,
sort of a
colored ring will pop up around the
enemy. And then if it's red,
that means it's fire. And
the recluse can like absorb
whatever that red fire
is thing, that red fire is
and it goes
into a little ring with like three dots on
it. So now one of those
blips is filled and the other two are empty
and that one thing is fire.
And then if I have ice shit and I'm doing
ice stuff, fucking ice messing
this dude up. And then you see a blue thing
pop up on the enemy, then you suck
that blue thing. And it brings you, it gives you
FP back for your magic thing. But now
a second blip gets filled into that circle.
And that's now blue. So there's red and blue.
There's an empty one now. It could be another ice
thing that you absorb, it could be another fire thing, or if you're casting faith damage,
it could be yellow, and you could absorb that yellow. And now that circle's filled up.
And when that circles filled up, then you do this crazy attack that is dependent on what the three
combinations of magic are. It's very, very confusing, very hard to kind of get a hold of. But
even watching, you know, some of the Iron Pineapples video this morning talking about it,
it that that you're talking about three different blips and that equates to like 14 different
combinations spells with all of the different moves that you have and it's like one sort of
big ability that you do seems like very very kind of hard to get the whole get a hang of yeah
but you are picking up spells in the battlefield you are picking up staffs and wands and things
like that um and then her ultimate is probably one of my favorite ones for support purposes
because then you talk about locking on mike you can lock on enemies obviously but one
one thing we found was cool was
if you're playing in a way that maybe
you're not always getting FP back to fill
your magic back up,
it was always smart for us to go, hey, whoever's playing
recluse, pick up a bow and arrow.
Because there's unlimited ammo.
You know, you'd have to worry about having arrows
in your inventory. And you can always
if you're out of FP and you need a res
one of us, you could shoot us with your arrows
to bring us back up. And that was always a cool
little fallback that we had. But yes, you can
lock on enemies, you can lock on your teammates
as well to bring a back.
up if you're at a distance playing, you know, your range sort of mage character.
And her ultimate was, I think we saw it in the thing that Barrett was shown a little bit earlier.
She sort of like does this red and black kind of like everything gets kind of gets wrapped around.
It looks like this ape or, you know, I don't know, this sort of like cloth thing that happens.
And the enemy gets a marking on them.
And any enemy that has this mark on them, if you or your homies hit them, you regain health.
And it was so cool.
All of you or just you?
All of you.
All of you.
All of your homies on your squad.
All of your homies will see this red mark on any of the enemies,
not just this one.
This is the only one that has the mark because it's just a single boss fight.
But when there's a lot of mobs around,
you'll see all the enemies have that mark on them.
And I know as my player that, oh, Mike did this ultimate.
I see that mark.
I'm going to go get health back and hit this enemy.
And it's just really cool to kind of have that rhythm of and that synergy with your squad
to, all right, let's get health back
for this phase, pop that alt,
then we'll sort of rethink our line of attack
for this big boss that we're taking on.
But definitely a lot tougher of a class,
and I hope that in the next four classes they release,
that there's a different sort of approach to mages,
maybe a more traditional
without having to manage these three different blips
that do all this stuff.
All that stuff seemed very optional.
You didn't have to be absorbing shit.
But I guess you did in order to get back your magic,
your blue bar, you know, your FP.
We'll find out this weekend.
Yeah.
Find out this weekend.
Any indications on where we're going?
This is a separate piece of game.
This isn't a DLC.
$40 game.
So it's standalone $40.
Any indication on when we might expect this?
I think that May 30th is the date.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're so on.
I mean, like, if I, man, I was just so happy playing this video.
Again, I was, I know that I'm,
Band 9 Amco offices,
very close to the John Wayne Airport.
And I have pre, I have clear, I have TSA, you know, I'm not worried about getting all the,
but, you know, at one moment, the homie John from Banda Namco walks out to him, was like,
hey, I just want to make sure you don't miss your flight.
And I was like, uh, yeah, I should be good.
I was like, ooh, actually, I'm kind of cutting it close.
But we're in the middle of a run right now, and I felt so bad because we had just beaten the
first night boss.
And the previous run is where we had gotten to the final boss and died.
You can't stop now.
Dude, we're in the middle of run.
I had to step away.
I was like, homies, I'm sorry.
I got to leave you.
I dabbed them all up.
And I was like, somebody fill my spot now because this is the run.
Like, my dude is fucking kidded out right now.
I need somebody to step in here to, you know, finish out this because this is going to be,
this is going to be a legendary run for the squad right here.
God, it was so much fun.
I can't wait.
Hell yeah, man.
So much fun.
Well, Andy, congratulations.
You're about to have the weekend of a lifetime.
Happy early birthday.
Is this game a contender?
as John Malloy, come on, dog.
Like, it's, there's no doubt this will be a top fiver for me at the end of the year.
There's no fucking doubt.
Yeah, man.
Hey, awesome stuff, everybody.
If you are a soul sicko, prepare yourself for an amazing weekend and an amazing May 30th.
You know what a week.
I love, let's go.
Wow, what a weekend.
How do you know that's Memorial Day?
You just know that?
Well, it's always, Kevin's birthday is May 26.
It's always around there.
Yeah, that's the end.
I'm always shocked whenever holidays have him of us.
I mean, do you know, we have a holiday coming up?
day is coming up on Monday.
You know that.
Still working on Monday.
There's a lot of presidents.
Well, we're still, but like a lot of people aren't, you know?
Oh, that's cool.
Oh, good for them.
I didn't know that.
Until next time, stay tuned for sending to a hurdle stream.
And after that, stay to play, baby.
It's going to be fun.
Bye.
President's Day.
