Klein/Ally Show: The Podcast - A Controversial DMV Test & Graphic Dolphin Sex (FULL SHOW 7/24)

Episode Date: July 24, 2026

With thousands of people having to re-take the DMV written test after a cheating scandal, we decided to take one on the air. The catch: whoever loses has to spend hours alone inside the DMV. How many ...hours, you say? One hour for every incorrect answer. It came down to two people in the end. There were tantrums, controversies, and a lot of debate on who the loser is. Johnny proved his idiocy is alive and well during Johnny Doesn't Know today when he was asked all Ocean-related questions. A question about how dolphins breathe resulted in Johnny doing a graphic impression of dolphin sex. Ally fell on the treadmill at the fitness center in the building, and it was so bad that a security guard came over to check on her. We are currently on a mission to uncover the surveillance video, with nationwide distribution to follow. Plus another awkward exit interview from another of Jake's first dates. Yes, he had three of them in one week after Ally & Vanessa revamped his dating profile, and they've still received not one THANK YOU!

Starting point is 00:00:00 About to get into a brand new episode of Klein Alley Show, but first let's tell you about our good friends at the finest airport that ever was and ever will be. The San Bernardino International Airport. Especially when there's summer travel plans, it can get expensive at these airports. That's why you gotta go to this airport where parking is just five bucks a day. Plus you got those easy trips, San Francisco or Provo, Utah. Maybe you didn't plan anything this summer. See how easy it is. Don't be one of those people who has to pack your patience. Go to San Bernardino International Airport. Okay, enough shilling. Now it's time to get into a brand new episode of Klein Alley Show. Hey, what's going on, Klein Alley?

Starting point is 00:02:00 moment ender are you ready for the weekend day He's been empty every day because he's doing it a lot. It's Clyde Alisha. Low 6.7. KROQ FM and HD Pasadena. Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Orange County. The Sonic Pulse of Los Angeles. This is the world-famous K-Rock. Thank God it's Friday! Oh, hell yeah. Welcome to your weekend. Good morning, Klein Alley Show. Back in your ear holes where we belong. I'm Klein. There's Alley. That is Jake the Nerd over there. What's up?
Starting point is 00:02:51 DJ Omar Khan. Hey, hey. Postmaster Johnny and Vanessa in the back. We are together again, like Captain Planet. You can interact with the show starting immediately, 800-520-1067. Start listening, start taking notes. As boring as that may sound now, it could result in you winning yourself into a festival taking place
Starting point is 00:03:08 on the beaches of Santa Monica, California. A lovely, always beautiful Santa Monica Oceanway Festival. The Killers, Jack White, Sublime, and more. Always beautiful? What beach are you talking about? Always beautiful. That was sarcasm, but I think where the festival will be taking place will be a nice part of the beach. I'm sure they'll
Starting point is 00:03:24 clear away the used needles. They'll power wash the funk out of there for a little bit. I do feel bad that we are asking people on a Friday, where a lot of times on a Friday you would like to just phone in your day, that we're asking people to whip out a notebook and actually pay attention you know how sometimes you get to work and you're like oh man today's like a demanding day so I wasn't really ready for that well when we get
Starting point is 00:03:44 those meetings sprung on us on a Friday and they're like let's come up with ideas I'm like no we're checked out yeah like I just can't generate that right now it's just summer Friday a lot of companies uh not our company but a lot of companies have these uh summer Friday hours where they people only go in for I don't think anyone ever goes in anymore but I think people go in, they go in, go in for like half a day on Fridays and then they get to leave at noon or something. Our summer hours, we had to stay an extra hour. I know. Our summer hours are the opposite.
Starting point is 00:04:11 We did this all wrong. And then they extended them through the whole year. When I worked at MTV, which was years ago, and anyone cared about MTV, they had that summer hours. I couldn't believe it. I was blown away. They were like, by the way, it's Friday. Everyone gets to leave at noon. I was like, are you kidding me? What do we have to do for that?
Starting point is 00:04:27 Do you think they still do that, though, over there? Probably not, right? I don't think anyone works there anymore. Oh, it's just completely gone? It's just ridiculousness. That's all it is. That's a Halloween store spirit now. It's just a pop-up tent. It's just a pop-up tent.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Hey. But at the time, it was a big deal, and everyone was in such a better mood because kind of similar to our concept of the four-day work week, when you knew Thursday was there, you're like, well, Friday's a nothing. You go in for a couple hours, and then you're done. I feel like Fridays, though, in general, if people leave early, you don't have to check with anyone. You can just leave.
Starting point is 00:04:55 I have a friend who has a job who has currently summer Fridays, and he has not told, he's had this job for years. He's not told his wife he has summer Fridays. What does he do? He just does whatever the hell he wants. She just assumes every day because he gets home at like 536 depending on traffic or whatever. And on Fridays, he's done at noon and he just says, I'll go to a movie. I think he went and saw that movie last week.
Starting point is 00:05:17 The Odyssey? Odyssey. And then I think every Friday, he just does whatever he wants to do. It's like four hours where he's supposedly at work, but he can do whatever he wants. Does he ever slip up and he's like, I hated that movie. I mean, I don't know what you're talking about. It's been three years, I think. He's never mentioned that he has these summer Fridays.
Starting point is 00:05:34 He just gets like four hours to himself every Friday. How great is that? Well, because if you tell your partner that you have time off, they create a to-do list for you immediately. Summer Fridays, here you go. Dry cleaner, grocery store. You should have never told your wife that your kids went to camp. Oh, my God. I know.
Starting point is 00:05:49 That's stupid me. Look at all the things you've had to do since then. I've spilled so much stuff. I don't know how to get into it, what I did yesterday. Yesterday was the dumbest, most giant waste of time of my entire life. And it makes me jealous that you have this time off and that you're also wasting it. Get to it next. Sarah, I'm here at the Klein Alley Show.
Starting point is 00:06:04 If you need us, 800-520-1067. In moments, say $500 Friday, we'll be here, which means you have the opportunity to take not one, not two, not three, not four, but $500 of Alley's money. She's pregnant, and you should feel bad about it, but also you should feel pretty great if you get $500 additional to start your weekend. Nah, I don't feel bad. Equality. All you have to do is answer some questions about stuff happening in the news.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Yo, I thought Klein was a bad parent for telling his kids what he was going to do to his mom. Not my mom to my wife. I was going to do them to their mom. Not my mom. That's weird. Good clarification. I was going to turn their mom into a balloon arrow. Basically teach her kid how to shoplift.
Starting point is 00:06:42 That's actually kind of crazy. I can't tell who the worst parent is. I think you guys should have your kids fight each other to find out who the worst parent is. All right? Happy Friday. Well, I think if we agreed to let our kids fight each other, that would make us both the worst parents.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Oh, and I would never agree to that because your bruiser would kick my kid's ass. tutu wearing son's ass. He doesn't wear a tutu. It's a leotard. And now he has a mouth guard and he's playing flat football and he got a touchdown, okay? The fact that you say he doesn't wear a tutu, it's a leotard, is
Starting point is 00:07:11 the funniest argument ever. It's a bright orange leotard. Yesterday I tried to not be a bad parent because I built, I'm not good at building stuff, but I attempt to do it anyway and usually, yes, there's extra pieces at the end and every once in a while I'll have to call a task rapid to help me finish it.
Starting point is 00:07:27 But yesterday, I decided to build something all by myself. And like a stupid, dumb idiot, I'm not good at measurements. And so I built this entire thing, which was a pop-a-shot thing. Basketball thing? Basketball thing. Oh, wow. That's fun. Well, I thought it was going to be fun.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Is it one of those flimsy-ass ones, though, that's like... It's not the great one you'd find at, like, a Chuck E. Cheese. I'll put it that way. It's the one where, like, the sides are just, like, canvas material. Yes. How much was it? Was it cheap? Under $200.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Oh, okay. Well, that's decent. And there was a digital coupon, so I want to say it was actually closer to $150. But regardless, the thing came in a million pieces. You think to yourself, all right, I see what this looks like put together. Is this going to be snapping together five things or a thousand things? And this was a thousand things. But I did it because it was trying to get it done.
Starting point is 00:08:20 So a big surprise for my kids. I thought that was my way of earning their love and respect. Well, surprise for one kid, right? Only one kid cares about that. One kid. That's right. The better one. And I built the thing.
Starting point is 00:08:32 It took me hours. And when I finally pulled it apart, you know, you have to, at the end, you extend it. It did not fit. There was nowhere to stand to shoot the basket. It went wall to wall. There was nowhere to stand. Oh, so there's not another place you can put it? No other place to put it.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Nope, unless you put it right in the middle of the living room. Yeah, put it in your living room. No other place to put it. Put it in your garage. It's a great garage thing. After I said this to my wife, I said, this thing is going to be too big. I said that from the very beginning. She said, no, she's going to love it.
Starting point is 00:09:00 It's going to be the greatest thing ever. Is it going in her room? That was the thought was to put it in her room. And I said, there's nowhere to put it in her room. This is a pop-a-shot. There's no, the room is a bed. Right, you need to be able to, you have room to pop. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:12 So, so I built the thing. And then as soon as I showed her how big it was, she goes, you're right. Take it apart. Let's send it back. And I. Wait, you didn't decide to do the measurements ahead of time? Well, I did the measurements, but the measurements I looked at were for when it was folded up, not when it was unfolded. And that's a totally different thing, apparently.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Yes, it's very different. It's a difference between 40 inches and 80 inches, Allie. Oh, 80 inches is big. That's a massive difference. Oh, my God. So if you think you wasted any of your day yesterday to build this thing, which took me, I mean, and it was hot, too. It was hot, sweating. I felt like a real man.
Starting point is 00:09:47 I was putting those stupid little wrenches that they send. You're putting it together indoors, though, right? I'm putting it together indoors, but I'm sitting, you know, no air conditioning. I got a window black. I'm right in a window. I'm getting cooked. Oh, you still have no air conditioning? I'm sweating.
Starting point is 00:10:00 I just didn't turn it on. I was too lazy to walk over and turn it on. And I build this whole effing thing. And I go, finally, it looks good. I was about to start inflating the balls, start shooting one. And I stretch it out. And I go, well, it ain't fitting here. And so she goes, yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Let's send it back. So I sat that back down and took it apart piece by piece. Oh, my God. And, of course, you can't fit all that stuff back in the box it came in. Oh, no, it's impossible. It's like putting a tent back in its original bag. So, I'm going to send them back half the pieces. So, you have to ship it back?
Starting point is 00:10:30 You have to ship it back. You have to ship it back. Can I have it? You know what? I'll sell it to you. It's 80 inches? Yeah, that is big. 80 inches.
Starting point is 00:10:39 80 inches. I would put that. It is... If I bought it off you for half the price, would you take that? It's funny. I started to go through the process of returning it on Amazon. And they go, what's the reason? And then I wrote, doesn't fit.
Starting point is 00:10:52 And they go, all right, you have to pay to ship it back. And the shipping back was the same thing as it was cost as much. And then I went back and I changed my answer to inaccurate website description. I know. When you make those selections, you're like, hmm. And then it goes, all right, we'll pay for the shipping now. All right, phew, thank God. So we got to take a break.
Starting point is 00:11:13 We're back in a second. If you want Ali's money, I recommend you call right now. 800-520-1067. You can buy up to three Papa shots if you take Ali's money today. Yeah. Think of all the Papa shots you could be having in your house. Just surrounded by Papa shots. Non-stop.
Starting point is 00:11:24 The number to call is 800-520-1067. There's five questions all about the news. We'll come back with that after this on a $500 Friday next. Just a regular Friday right now, but it's about to turn into a $500 Friday for someone. And all you have to do is be on the phone and ready to answer some questions about stuff happening in the news. This is all technically news. And if you do better than Allie, who will attempt to stand in your way, you get no money. It's getting easier for me to stand in your way.
Starting point is 00:11:47 She is in your way regardless if she's trying to or not. So she is setting a pick and roll everywhere she goes. And the reality is all you need to do is be on the phone, answer questions about things happening in the world, do better than Allie as she sequesters herself outside on the hallway. Okay. And if you do better than Allie does, well, then she will be forced to give you $500. If for some reason you lose, you get no money, but you will get yourself a limited edition piece of Klein Allie Show merch, which could be one of them shirts that says, I've never been intimate with Jake, which is a very in-demand item.
Starting point is 00:12:16 It could be one of the 3-2-3 Tip Bully hats, the Sweet Dibbets hats, or the Make Allie Fat Again Maffa hats, or Maffa hats, depending on how you say it. So all could be yours. We say good morning right now to, wow, this is going to be interesting, another Allie. This is an Allie on Allie battle from Huntington Beach, California. Good morning, Allie. Good morning. God, I hope you win. This would be great.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I don't know if Allie in the history of Allie Knows the News has ever battled another Allie. So the opportunity to take her down at her own game, and someone will have to say Allie Knows the News. It's going to be great. I hope it's our Allie that says it and you win the money. So get ready. Questions are ready. Here we go. Answer these quickly, confidently, and accurately.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Let's go. Allie knows the news. Question number one. Which professional team was at the White House yesterday where they were called by the president, quote, one of the great brands anywhere in the world? The Dodgers. The Dodgers. We've got a question number two. Good news, L.A.
Starting point is 00:13:15 That's sarcasm. This has increased 3.4% since it was last calculated. What is up 3.4% in Los Angeles? Unemployment. We go to question number three. Update on Jackie the bald eagle, the big bear eagle. Everyone's been sending thoughts and prayers to Jackie, who is improving, but Jackie's condition is currently considered in what?
Starting point is 00:13:41 Sorry, that's a terribly worded question. But Jackie's condition is currently what? Critical. Critical. We've got a question number four. Burger King is now guaranteeing one specific menu item, saying if you're not happy, the next one will be free. What are they putting a Burger King guarantee on? Whopper.
Starting point is 00:14:03 And finally, question number five. One of the finest performers ever, Weird Al Yankovic, turned down a seven-figure offer to perform where? because he said it felt icky. Where did he refuse to perform, even though he was offered over a million dollars? The Madison Square Garden. Madison Square Garden. I get it.
Starting point is 00:14:26 That place is icky. That's right. All right, let's bring Allie in. We'll score together. Our Allie is entering the studio. That's a different Allie on the phone. Money's up for grabs. Bragging rights up for grabs.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Limited edition merch up for grabs. And hopefully, if you're just listening, driving around, you're going to learn something about the world. Allie, question one. Yes, hello. Oh, by the way, I should point out, you're playing another Allie on the phone right now. It's an Allie Allie battle. Oh, man, now I don't know what to think.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Taking down their own type. Question one. Which professional sports team was at the White House yesterday where they were called by the president, quote, one of the great brands anywhere in the world? Yeah, I believe that would be the Dodgers. Okay, it was the Dodgers. And interesting because I think of the Dodgers as a team. I think of them, I don't really, I mean, they are a brand, but it's just such a strange way to refer to them. It's a very business-y way to say it.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Very business-y way to say it, but congratulations, both of you got that. So we are now tied up at one as we go to question number two. Good news, LA, and that's sarcastic. This has increased 3.4% since it was last calculated. That would be homelessness, Klein. Okay, she said unemployment, which feels like it's so close, but the correct answer is homelessness. They could have something to do with each other. Millions and millions and millions of dollars.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Billions. Billions spent to keep this number from increasing, yet it keeps on going up, up, up. And Allie gets the point and goes up 2-1 on other Allie. And we go to question number three. Jackie the Bald Eagle. Yeah. Getting a lot of attention. Apparently condition improving, but what is Jackie the Bald Eagle's current condition listed as?
Starting point is 00:16:00 I think she's still in critical condition, I believe. She said critical as well. It's weird to hear improving but still critical because I thought once you're improving. They gave her a blood transfusion. Wow, it's crazy. I know, crazy that they can do that on an eagle. But once they go critical, I thought then they go too serious or something else. But they're staying in critical.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Still critical. Still critical, yeah. Allie got that and Allie got that. So both of you still fighting it out here. Our Allie is up one still with two questions left. Burger King is guaranteeing one of their menu items. and they're saying if you're not happy with this item, the next one will be free.
Starting point is 00:16:35 What is the guarantee now happening from Burger King? God, no diarrhea? A no diarrhea guarantee? That would be very on... Listen, that's a ballsy thing to do, but I'm telling you, you're trying to make a statement right now. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:51 So Allie claims that they are guaranteeing that if you get diarrhea, you'll get a free... No diarrhea on us. Okay. That is not right. I'll tell you who got it right. It's like you forget you're playing for $500 here.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Allie on the phone said the Whopper guarantee, and that is the correct answer. Wait, they're guaranteeing what? They're guaranteeing that if you're not satisfied with your Whopper, your next one will be free. It's a Whopper guarantee. That's stupid. Big news. Just came out in the last 24 hours. Even if you were satisfied with your Whopper, why didn't you just say that you were unsatisfied so you can get another Whopper?
Starting point is 00:17:22 Well, people will probably do that, and they probably don't care. They're just trying to get people to go to Burger King. But for a while, when they were trying to say they had better fries than McDonald's, they did this. They did this whole fry guarantee situation. They're trying too hard. It's a little thirsty. But anyway, that is the correct answer. Ali on the phone.
Starting point is 00:17:37 So now it's all tied up. Going into this final question. Weird Al Yankovic, one of the finest performers that ever was and ever will be, apparently turned down a seven-figure offer to perform somewhere because he said it was, quote, icky. Where did he refuse to perform because he said it felt icky, even though he was offered seven figures? Maybe he was asked to perform at that 250th White House celebration at the White House. That's your guess? He claims that he was asked to perform at the Saudi Arabia Comedy Festival.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Oh, yes. I remember that. Everybody was performing at that. I didn't need to take that amount of money because it made me feel icky is what it did. So he turned it down. No point for you. sadly, our contestant Allie guessed that it was Madison Square Garden, so she's also
Starting point is 00:18:30 wrong. So now we find ourselves in one of these very unsatisfying ties, and it's $500 and, you know, ties usually go to the house, but if we must, I mean, if this is going to come down to a tiebreaker situation... I mean, it's an alley-on-alley battle. I feel like
Starting point is 00:18:46 it's a good way to end it on a fair note. Ties just kind of feel, especially on a $500 Friday... No alley-off! Alright, it's an alley-off. Woo! First one... She's probably way hotter than me, too. Most Allies are attractive. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:19:00 I met one in Hawaii. She worked at the snorkel store. Hi, I'm Allie. I'm like, of course you are. You're gorgeous. Well, the whole reason we hired you for this thing is we heard your name
Starting point is 00:19:09 and then you showed up and we go, oh, good God. Oh, my God. They don't spell it the same usually, the hot ones. Here is your question, guys. This booze brand is launching its own line
Starting point is 00:19:20 of sneakers that can hold up to four shots of the booze in the sneaker. Can anyone answer this question? This booze brand is launching its own line of sneakers. It can hold up to four shots of the booze in the actual sneaker. It's got to be a vodka brand. I'm going to go with Smirnoff.
Starting point is 00:19:47 That is incorrect. I'm going to go with Patron. Patron is also wrong. Oh. So we're back to a tie. It's Fireball. Oh, Fireball. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:19:55 All right. Well, sadly, this alley-off came to an end, and we're going to call this thing a tie, which means you get no money, but you do get a limited-edition piece of merch. And what must you shamefully admit, both of you at the same time, on KROQ, go ahead. I'm Allie. I'm Allie from the Huntington Beach. And Allie knows the news. You're in a great mood.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Hopefully, you're paying attention to today's show, so we can send you to Santa Monica Oceanway Festival, and you can see some Jack White and some Killers and some Sublime and many others. That'll be coming up. And if you want to go to Universal Studios Hollywood, we have those tickets for you as well. coming up next hour right here on KROQ. What do you think is the most embarrassing thing that can happen to you at the gym? There are a lot of ways you can embarrass yourself
Starting point is 00:20:33 at the gym, but I think there's one top, most embarrassing thing. When you need help lifting a weight that's not that heavy and you need someone to come save you. Or you bench press and you can't get the press part. And there's no plates on the... It's just the bar, sir. I know, but someone help me lift it.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Have you had to use assistance to carry the bar? Not for the bar only, but there's definitely times where there's not a lot of weight. In my mind, I'm like, I think this thing must be like 500 pounds and it's barely over 100. One time, a woman had to come and help me at the gym. That was really embarrassing, too, because I couldn't lift.
Starting point is 00:21:04 What did she do? You couldn't lift it? Yeah, she had to help me lift. I was set up badly on the bench and my elbows were too close and I couldn't trap them. The woman was me and it was me trying to help Clint. That's such a great walk of shame where you put weights on a bar, then you sit down to do the thing and then you have to get back up and take the weight off
Starting point is 00:21:21 because you're like... Too much? That's pretty embarrassing. And you hope that no one saw that. You almost pretend like you just did like three sets. You're like, anyway, I just did one rep like that. I would say beyond that, though, one of the more embarrassing things a person can do is have a run-in with the treadmill.
Starting point is 00:21:36 What do you mean a run-in with the treadmill? Like an oopsie with the treadmill. You fall off, you trip, you do that thing where you do that sprint, but it's going too fast and you have to like jump off and abandon ship. Yeah, that's funny. Yeah, why don't you be able to fall off a treadmill? That's a good laugh.
Starting point is 00:21:50 So I had an incident with the treadmill yesterday. I went down to the gym in this building after we had had our show meeting and binged on a bunch of chips and cheesies that a listener had sent us. I felt like I could just feel the bloat beginning. I was like, I got to get on a treadmill and do something. So I went down there. Oh, yeah, Triple Cody sent us a big box of chips from Canada. I know.
Starting point is 00:22:11 And Klein's like, we're going to wait and taste test these later. I was like, open. Yeah, so funny. I'm not waiting. Fat Allie was like, she was in rare form yesterday. Oh, my God, I was starving. We got this box, all these chips that aren't available in America. He went to Canada or something, so he sent us a bunch of them, some interesting flavors.
Starting point is 00:22:27 And we're like, great, let's hold on to these. And Allie's like, go open them now. These are called Cheezies, and they're going in my mouth. Yeah, Allie goes, pass me the Cheezies. I mean, it was unbelievable. It was like Godzilla had attacked our office. I went down there. I did my little warm-up where I was kind of jogging.
Starting point is 00:22:44 You felt that bad about the chips you ate? No, I had planned on going anyway, but I was anxious to get down there because I just started feeling bad. So I started kind of doing this slow jog, and I don't go down to this gym very often. I usually go to my place at the YMCA by my house. So I'm doing my little, well, I love the YMCA, shout out. I decide I'm done with the warm-up, and I press the stop button on the screen, and I did not realize that the treadmills down there, they don't just gradually slow down. They stop, like, pretty immediately, and I was not anticipating that.
Starting point is 00:23:20 And, of course, like everyone else at the gym, I'm watching a screen. I'm watching something on my phone. I'm not really paying attention. And I'm expecting to go to a walk and then eventually go to get to a stop. Why would you expect that? Every treadmill on the planet, when you hit the word stop, when you hit stop, stops instantly. No, no, no. None of them slow down.
Starting point is 00:23:40 If you pull that, like, emergency cord. Omar's right. It's a giant red safety button. Because if you wanted to cool down, you would have hit the button that says cool down. But I didn't pull the red safety button thing or like that little emergency tab. You could either do that, and then that stops it immediately, or you hit stop because stop means stop. Stop means stop. Yeah, but they have to know that stop, you're already running.
Starting point is 00:24:02 You can't just completely, no one can just completely stop. Again, it's an emergency kind of feature for all treadmills. Well, in this case, it created an emergency. Because if your shoelace is stuck in the thing, you know, there's a million reasons why stop means stop. So if you want it, I can give you three reasons that most people would use if they wanted to slow down gradually. There's a cool-down button. There's those arrows. You just push the arrows.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Or the number two. I can't press the arrows like that when I'm running. It's like, and I feel like I missed the arrow. Well, then just press the number two to slow you down to two. All right. I press stop because I'm done. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Your logic. At the treadmill where I usually go, it is a gradual slowdown when I press stop. You press stop and the treadmill stopped. And that was surprising to you. You pressed the stop button and it stopped. It stopped so suddenly, Klein. And I fell down because I wasn't expecting it to stop that suddenly. And then a security guard walked in to the fitness center and said, ma'am.
Starting point is 00:24:59 The whole building shook, ma'am. Everyone was on an earthquake evacuation from the building. They called every single floor had to be evacuated of this giant building. The foundation was crashed. She said, are you okay? He said, are you okay? And I said, yeah, I'm sorry. I'm fine.
Starting point is 00:25:17 And he said, I saw you from down the hall and I ran over here because I wanted to help you. And meanwhile, there are other people in the fitness center seeing this. And I said, no, I'm just, and then I had to explain to him, I'm okay, but I pressed stop. I didn't think that it was going to stop so quickly and it just caught me off guard and I fell down. And he said, okay, I just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with the treadmill. like you want to make sure it was a malfunctioning or something you had to put that out of order sign on it oh right and i said no the treadmill's working fine i just didn't i'm not used to this treadmill i explained all this to him he put the out order sign on you that would be great and then
Starting point is 00:26:00 he said are you sure you're okay because i can write a report he was going to write like an injury report for me. That would have been great. I said, no, I don't need an injury report. No, you assaulted a treadmill. Stop, stop, stop. I'm writing an injury report for the treadmill. And so then, and all this is going on,
Starting point is 00:26:17 people kind of stopped their workouts now, making sure that, like, the idiot is okay. And then finally he leaves. And now I'm recovering from this. I got a bruised knee. I continue with my workout. And then later, 10 minutes later, there's some kind of an office tour going on
Starting point is 00:26:31 where they parade all these new people around the gym and they're watching me work out. It was so embarrassing. Too bad they didn't get to watch you fall off the treadmill. I know. Hey, Johnny, is there surveillance footage in that gym? There must be, right? They have cameras.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Yeah, let me go ask my buddy Marquise and see if he could send us that footage. Yeah, get the footage of Allie falling off the treadmill. Can you do me a solid, Marquise, and not do that? Thank you. Oh, please get us the footage of Allie falling off the treadmill. I'm going to DM them right now. Yeah, they have to have cameras now.
Starting point is 00:26:56 I would imagine there's cameras everywhere. Look, it's probably not as bad as it felt. Well, we'll be the judge of that. I'm sure it would look probably just like a little trip. You went full down? I don't think I went full down. I think it was one of those things where, like, you kind of, like, you're walking and then you stop and kind of do this, like, tumble. Right, but if a guy came all the way in to check on you to fill out a report, I mean, that's a pretty big fall.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I mean, I was, like, doing my stretching, and then he walked up to me. I couldn't believe that he came to my aid in that way. What a good security guard. It looks like you fell on your face terribly. Oh, no, my face is fine, sir. Poor floor. Do I need to get clean? All right, well, that's our new mission now to find this footage.
Starting point is 00:27:34 So hopefully we'll be releasing that later today. If you're not following along, you could do that at Klein Alley Show. We'll be right back after this quick break. I recommend you don't miss a minute of the show because you don't know what moment you could miss. You could even miss this. And now it's time for a moment with Kevin. We're about to find out how long we should be living for.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Well, let me start that again. That came out all backwards. I think you got another two weeks. That was A Moment with Kevin. It's a good question, 714. Julia Wolf is the name of that performer. In my room on KROQ, we are a Klein Alley show. And if you need us, you can interact on the text line.
Starting point is 00:28:12 You can call. The number's the same, 800-520-1067 or 323-TIP-BOLY if you'd prefer. Also, coming up next hour, we'll get you into Universal Studios Hollywood so you can ride the new Fast and Furious roller coaster and everything else that's going on there at Universal Studios. Get one of them giant Simpsons donuts. Oh, the choice is yours when you go to Universal with four one-day tickets. So be ready to win them from us coming up next hour on KROQ,
Starting point is 00:28:36 and then we get you into that festival in Santa Monica later this morning. It is news time now. Lucky us. We've got news that a brand-new hour of the show can begin. Grab your Adderall. It's time for ADD News. If there was ever a time to watch the Jackie and Shadow Bald Eagle live cam, now is the time because the drama has been he-tang-a.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Jackie, still in that little bird hospital. She's in critical condition, but she just got a blood transfusion. So they're working on it. They say she's still highly anemic. She's having issues with her kidneys. But meanwhile. How old is Jackie? She is 14.
Starting point is 00:29:10 And eagles live between 20 and 25 years in the wild on average. So maybe it could be age related. They're not really sure yet. But Shadow is still in the nest bringing food to the eaglets. with the eaglets are still there even though they've been able to fly for a while now it's just proof that kids just stay home longer than ever i mean it's crazy huh so rent's crazy right yeah what does he say i don't know what he's saying he said rent is crazy right now i'm so glad i know now you know i asked everyone on the show what percentage of jake's jokes on
Starting point is 00:29:47 the air they found funny and the numbers were staggering staggering high right no what did 5%. Vanessa said 5%. Jake, I just want you to know, you're not my type of funny. I don't think we are either. Facts. Like, what percentage of the show do you think is funny?
Starting point is 00:30:09 I want to say 50-50. 50-50. I'll take that. That's okay. It's not bad. I mean, if you think about most of the stuff we have to do, it's a lot of giving away this, giving away that. We don't really... 50% of the time... 50-50. If we're 50% and Jake's 5%, I mean, he is bringing down the average. Let's put it that way.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Yeah, so it would have been 55%. Johnny, what percentage of the things Jake says do you find? I'm just trying to get the video of Ali falling. Oh, good. That's a priority. So, Shadow is now being seen with another female bald eagle. Brent's crazy. Dating is crazy.
Starting point is 00:30:40 I'm going to say it so no one can understand it, and then I'll stop the show three times. So, this homewrecker hoebag eagle has entered the picture, and they've seen them perching together. Stop it. Yeah, and they think that this might be the, this is the twist. They think it might be the same girl, Eagle, that was fighting with Jackie. Damn. Oh. So, I know.
Starting point is 00:31:00 They, this is like she was out to steal him from the beginning potentially, right? So, she goes, I got to take Jackie out of the equation. Jackie's getting weak. I got to bitch slap her, send her away, and then I'll start perching near the nest and kind of stake my claim. She wants to be Eagle Cam famous. She wants to be the next girl in Shadow's life. But they say, this is what the experts say, they say that Shadow will not cheat and that he has an extraordinary bond with Jackie and it is unlikely he will move on for now. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:31:30 For now. How long are you giving him? Well, I'll tell you how long, because once December hits, that's when he starts getting all horny and wanting to screw another eagle. I was thinking like 3 p.m. today. Well, they say that he will be loyal until it's like time to meet. And if she's not around by then, he may find somebody else. Some of the ones just flapping around, showing off the goods. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:31:52 So if it's December and Jackie's not back and she's been there perching, you know, it's the easiest swap. Get some strain. But what if Jackie can't totally fulfill Shadow? Like, Jackie comes back, can't fulfill totally what Shadow needs. Can there possibly be a throuple situation here? You know, that's a great, great idea. I don't know. Because what if Jackie, what if he does smash?
Starting point is 00:32:14 And what if he does link up with this new eagle? And this is a younger eagle. Yeah. And then Jackie comes back and is like, what the hell's going on? You're with my kids. You're with my husband. It is going to be. Hey, Vanessa, you were in that throuple for a bit.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Oh, my God. My friends that I hang out with are a couple. Right, but weren't you going on dates with them and they were paying for you? They just pay for me because they like to. Right. That's definitely how it works usually. I think I have two. Just because I love you.
Starting point is 00:32:44 I got it. but do you think that this eagle situation can survive in thruple as a thruple definitely not well they say that they mate for life you know that they don't really like find other mates but you know it dating is getting hard in the in in the regular world and it's probably getting tough in the animal kingdom i would imagine it's 2026 there's a lot of new rules so there's a new problem in boyle heights and i feel i feel so bad for these people in this neighborhood because ever since that fire happened at the cold storage warehouse they've dealt with like at first it was air quality then it was the ash raining down then it was all the food rotting smell and then
Starting point is 00:33:20 it now it's the rats that have come in to eat all the rotting food and now we have the next phase of it which is a giant fly infestation and these flies could carry disease and these are a specific type of fly so listen to what these can do to the poor community of foil heights green bottle flies on the lineage property are dangerous and breed quickly in a heat wave and spread to neighborhoods Green bottle flies can cause myiasis, which is an infectious disease caused by the flies laying eggs in opened wounds of either humans or animals. This disease can cause irritation, ulcers, and in some cases, even death. With a number of flies around the property, it would not be uncommon for anyone in the area with an opened wound to contract myiasis. I mean, what the F?
Starting point is 00:34:08 Like, at what point would you be like, I need to move? Like, when is this going to get better? I mean, this is going to lay eggs. I'm going to lay eggs where you're in my eyes. That's terrible. How would you like to live in Batman's mansion for the low, low price of $32 million? Is that in Pasadena? Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:34:28 Batman's Wayne Manor is now on the market. This was Bruce Wayne's mansion in the original series with Adam West in the 60s. So it's not a new mansion per se, but it was also in Stand By Me, Rush Hour, Bridesmaids, and Murder, She Wrote. It's a 19,000-square-foot house with seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms. It's a 17th-century castle. It's got leaded glass windows. So you've got that sweet lead stuff from back in the day. And it's got a massive home theater.
Starting point is 00:34:55 But they do say if you can't afford to buy this property, it will cost between $300,000 and $600,000 a year just to maintain it because it's so old. $306,000? That's not a lot. Yeah, $300,000 to $600,000 a year. Oh, that's a lot more. That's a lot more money. So even if you buy it, you need that much more additional just to keep the upkeep? Just with upkeep. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:35:16 No, as Jake said earlier, the rent, huh? Rent's crazy. Rent's crazy. Rent's crazy. That's right. That's funny now because it's full circle on that joke. Is this 50% funny? It's 50%.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Someone said on the text line they give Jake 3% funny, so it's moving down. It's K-Rock. This is the world famous K-Rock. Good morning. Welcome to your weekend and welcome to your K-Rock. It is 8 o'clock just after, so we have some stuff for you this hour as you are paying attention, hopefully, to win your way into the Santa Monica Ocean Way Festival
Starting point is 00:35:44 with the Killers and Jack White and Sublime and more. We also have for you this hour your four tickets to go to Universal Studios, ride the new Fast, Furious, Hollywood Drift roller coaster there, be one of the first humans to go on that ride that has been tested over and over again. I've been watching all those test dummies get to ride the ride for free, and now you'll get a chance as well coming up this hour. I don't know why we keep torturing ourselves, and we keep finding new ways.
Starting point is 00:36:08 I don't know why either, but. I was just looking at the videos up on our Instagram of the roll lettuce wheel spinning and all of us that were eating the recalled lettuce from Taylor Farms. Some of us have had some stomach issues since then, and everyone says the good news is we have up to two weeks to figure out if we're going to fully catch that cephalocyte-y ass or whatever it's called. Cyclosporiasis. Cyclosporiasis.
Starting point is 00:36:28 I don't believe that. Could be in our future as well. So we got that to look forward to. As that video just went up yesterday, you can watch it, and people are having a good laugh at our expense. This hour, we've decided, and this is maybe the worst punishment I think we've ever put on the table for one of us. Would you rather shave your head or do this? Shave my head. I'd rather shave my head again.
Starting point is 00:36:49 I mean, be honest. You don't shave your head. I'd rather shave my head again and go down to a one like I did the first time. because the punishment this hour, based on the cheating scandal that happened at the DMV. With the written test. Now 11,000 people have to retake the written test. People have to retake the test. Think about that.
Starting point is 00:37:07 You thought you passed. You got yourself a license, a feeling of freedom. It's one of the greatest things that can happen to you in your entire life. I got a driver's license. And then they go, not so fast. You got to come and retake this test because apparently people were cheating using metaglasses while they were taking the test. So now, we, this hour on the show, are going to see if any of us can actually pass the DMV written test.
Starting point is 00:37:30 And here's the catch, and this sucks for us. The loser, whoever has the lowest score, which will be one of us, one of us is going to lose, is going to go and have to spend a certain amount of time at the DMV, doing nothing, by the way. You can't do anything. You can't even renew your driver's license, even if you could. Just have to go and sit at the DMV for anywhere from one hour up to five hours. What are you talking about? We said an hour. No, we didn't, Jake.
Starting point is 00:37:58 We decided before the show is that we're going to do every question you get wrong. Is an hour. If you have the lowest score, is another hour you have to spend at the DMV. So think about this for a moment. One of us is going to have to spend time on our free time. In those little plastic chairs. The world's worst place on the planet. Stinkiest.
Starting point is 00:38:16 And usually when you're there, at least at the end of the whole thing, You're like, well, I got my license plates renewed or something you had to do. The concept of having to just go and sit there. And checking nothing off your to-do list. And it doesn't matter what number they call in their weird rickety system of K63 followed by B4. It doesn't matter because you're just going to sit there. And I can imagine when you go in, they're like, do you want to take a number? And you just go, nope.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Yeah, just going to sit. I'm just going to be over here. What do you need to do here? I lost a bet, but I'm sitting at the DMV. So that is, I believe, one of the worst punishments. I'm sure the AC is not great there either this time of year. Terrible. It's always got that kind of hot, musky stank to it.
Starting point is 00:38:55 It never has good circulation, even in the winter months. So Omar, we found out off the air yesterday, is by far the best driver because he says he's not gotten a ticket in something like over a decade. Over 15 years. Over 15 years. I remember when I got the ticket. The guy has not gotten a ticket. And probably, I would argue, you drive the most amount of mileage of anyone, A, because of how far you live from the radio station, and B, because of all of the different DJ gigs you're doing constantly.
Starting point is 00:39:22 You're at a wedding in Laguna. You're at a wedding in Santa Barbara. You're constantly traveling. So you're on the road all the time. Are you lucky, or do you actually follow the rules of the road? I drive very carefully. I don't want to get in an accident, and I just don't want to get in another vehicle. and I don't want to do anything that is going to create kind of chaos in my life.
Starting point is 00:39:43 So I take that very seriously. Does this include parking tickets? Yeah, I haven't had a parking ticket in, wow, since, wow, the early 2000s, I guess. What? This is why the punishment was so bad that we couldn't even agree on who was going to administer the test because the person who was going to administer the test would not be able to lose. And then we were talking about, well, the person who wins the Lamo Award for safest driver will have that person administer the test, and that was Omar.
Starting point is 00:40:08 I'm the lame-o. Yeah. I mean, I've gotten three parking tickets in the last month. Jesus, man. I'm still fighting my ticket. And I just got a couple toll violations in the mail from driving as well because I wanted to go in the fast lane, but I didn't have an easy pass. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:40:23 So I got some of those to deal with. And I still have that ticket. I got the fix-it ticket when I got pulled over with no license plates and a bunch of other stuff. Oh, you still haven't gotten that fixed? I got part of it fixed. I got the fix-it part fixed, but the part about me actually getting the updated, everything else, not fixed. You know, my speeding ticket, because I got one of those ones where you could technically be arrested you were going so fast.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Yeah. Because I was going like 29 miles over the speed limit. I mean, Omar hasn't gotten a ticket in 15 years, and Allie masturbates on the 101. I'm actually surprised I can still drive. Vanessa, you ran over a bicyclist recently, right? I was within the last year. I didn't run over the bicyclist. The bicyclist.
Starting point is 00:41:02 I was parking and the bicyclist ran over me. Okay. So, obviously, I think we've made the right call that Omar's going to be the one giving us the test. Well, and Johnny was saying how many times he took the written test. Oh, yeah, Johnny failed that, I think, four times out of the gate. It was like three times, and it was the written part, not the driving part. So, anyway, we're going to figure out which one of us does the worst.
Starting point is 00:41:25 That person will have a terrible punishment. So you get to go ahead and experience our misery and make that your pleasure coming up this hour on KROQ. Good morning. Why do you guys keep doing this to yourselves? It brings me joy, but I feel bad for you, and I'm starting to feel bad for whoever loses this. People pointing out that whoever has to go sit in the DMV, 818 can confirm the DMV does not have AC most of the time. The seats are always taken except for the one next to the guy with the worst BO. Yes, there's always one person in the corner.
Starting point is 00:41:52 Also incredibly uncomfortable there. Someone says the DMV will not let you in without a number, so we're going to have to at least make up a reason why we are there, even though we're not going to actually do anything other than sit in the DMV. Anywhere from one to five hours of sitting in the DMV to do nothing. They won't let you in without a number? That's what they said. We may have to wait in line.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Sometimes there's that long-ass line outside even to just get into the DMV. To check in? Yeah. Oh, my God. So people say the reason that Omar drives so cautiously is because he probably has a car full of drugs. Oh, and fireworks. He doesn't want to be pulled over, so he's the only guy. The only people that are actually following the rules of the road are the people that know that.
Starting point is 00:42:28 I've also been driving since 13, so I have a lot of experience. Right, you've got those extra years of experience because you drove illegally for three years. In a moment, we're going to take the quiz. Whichever one of us does the worst is going to have to, sadly, have the worst punishment we've ever had on the show. And we ate bags of diarrhea lettuce earlier this week, and that person is going to have to sit in the DMV based on how many questions they get wrong, an hour for every question they get wrong. Knowing that the diarrhea lettuce could strike at any time. It could strike while you're at the DMV. It's a real double punishment.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Give us a practice one, Omar, and then we'll take the break, and then we'll get ready. Vanessa, Johnny, Allie, Jake, myself, we're all battling for this. And we've all agreed that if we lose, we will be going to a DMV. And someone said, do you guys get to pick the DMV most convenient to you, or will we pick? That's so messed up. No, it has to be the one in downtown LA. Oh, my God. No, it has to be one with parking.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Come on. I don't know about that. Come on. We cannot do that to ourselves. Someone said you guys should go to the DMV closest to Omar just to make it more convenient for him. You know, someone pointed out that the Rancho one is one of the few you can go in without a number. Oh, so there you go. You might have to do that.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Come on over. Drive two hours just to sit there at the DMV for nothing. It's the biggest waste of a day ever. All right, give us a practice one. All right, this one is pretty easy. Who has the right-of-way at a four-way stop? Pedestrian Jesus
Starting point is 00:43:52 Oh, trick question Vanessa Vanessa wrote down pedestrian We're talking about cars here It's the person that got there first Hold on I didn't know the answer
Starting point is 00:44:04 What do you think, Jake? Well, it's called the right-of-way for a reason It's the person to your right Well, if you get there at the same time it's the person to your right If you're the person
Starting point is 00:44:13 that got there first then it's you Johnny, the question the first question Omar's given us is who gets the right-of-way at a four-way stop Yeah, it's the person who's on your right-hand side. If you guys get there at the same time,
Starting point is 00:44:24 it's automatically the person on the right-hand side. If there's nobody there, then it's you. Okay, but how do you know you're the person on the right side when you're... Oh, man. Well, that was just a practice. But if you're looking at a mirror, is it still on the right?
Starting point is 00:44:42 That's an interesting point. This is like the easiest one. We got problems already. All right, well, come back. Don't answer. Wait, what's the answer? Don't get it? Well, I mean, listen, I always thought that it is whoever arrives first. We always said the crappiest car should get the right-of-way because they're probably having the hardest time. But I know that's not what the DMV thinks.
Starting point is 00:44:59 So I believe it is whoever arrives first. But if there's a tie, then it does go to the car on the right, I thought. That's right. That's the answer. So the answer is whoever gets there first. Whoever gets there first or if the vehicles arrive at the same time, it's the person on the right. Right. Yeah, but, and then there's that also uncomfortable moment where both people wave to each other.
Starting point is 00:45:20 Oh, my God, and then you start to go, and then you stop, and then you, oh, I hate that. So, the one person that definitely got that one wrong is Vanessa. But, hey, you said that was a practice one, so no one has a squirt yet. Okay, when we get back. No one has a squirt yet. When we get back in a moment, we will take the quiz. There's been a DMV cheating scandal. We're going to get to the bottom of this in a moment.
Starting point is 00:45:39 One of us is going to have to spend a lot of goddamn time at the DMV for no reason. And her name rhymes with Shmanessa. We'll figure out who that is next. I'm the normal person. We have to do something to ruin our day so that hopefully you can enjoy at our expense. One of us will be forced to go to the DMV and sit there for up to five hours. Actually, Omar said there's maybe nine questions. So if someone were to get every question wrong, they could be there for nine hours at the DMV and to do nothing.
Starting point is 00:46:04 And by the way. I think he would start going crazy. I think he'd be like that 127 hours movie. 970 wanted to text us and let us know, I am a DMV tech. and you do need a reason to be inside. Oh, we have a reason. And you said you can always give the reason of needing new plates, but then say never mind when your number is called.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Do you even say that or you just don't get up and go to the window? Don't think so. Let's record themselves. You don't get up. Yeah, I think we're going to have to. Whoever's there for that long is going to have to prove it. By the way, the DMV has had an interesting run. We're doing this now because there was this big cheating scandal earlier this week that a lot of people have to retake the test.
Starting point is 00:46:40 11,000 people, I think, have to retake the test or else they're going to lose their license. This happened not too long ago, Allie, as well. At least five people now, DMV workers, are facing federal charges after being accused in a recent bribery scandal. Cool. Listen to this.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Federal prosecutors say those employees were accepting thousands of dollars in payoffs to approve licenses for unqualified drivers. Oh, not good. Listen, it's clear. You don't have to go very far in anywhere in Southern California to realize most people on the road are unqualified drivers.
Starting point is 00:47:07 I'm going to bribe one of them if I could take a nap in their office or something. The employees were working at the DMV offices in Torrance and Lincoln Park. A lot of people are suggesting which DMV we go to if we have to pay our punishment. Someone says that the greatest DMV is the Newhall one because it's always empty and there's air conditioning. That's where Johnny claims he failed his test three different times. No, I passed the driving test there. I took the written test in Pacoima.
Starting point is 00:47:30 And you failed that one three times. I failed that three times, yeah. That was tough. The Pasadena DMV, since there's a side entrance, you can just walk in the side entrance. You don't have to go through the checking and process. So thank you. Everyone's very helpful with our punishments. We appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Got it. We'll figure it out. Omar's got the questions ready. It's time. For us to take the driving test, the on-air portion of it, which is the written quiz question. Everyone keep track of your own score. And Omar says some of these are multiple choice and some of these are just write down the answer. So everyone's got their paper out and pen out.
Starting point is 00:48:02 All right, Omar. No cheating. Whenever you're ready. What should you do if your vehicle starts to skid on a slippery road? Oh, no. What should you do if your vehicle starts to skid on a slippery road? Is this multiple choice, this one, or no? This one is not multiple choice.
Starting point is 00:48:17 If it is multiple choice, I will give you the multiple choice, you jackass. Thank you. Thank you. I think Klein should be Dr. Point. No, that's a question. Point off, Klein. Okay, I've got my answer. Got it.
Starting point is 00:48:32 What do you do? The first question is what do you do? when you start to skid? On a slippery road. Did you pick this one because you think skid marks are funny? Maybe. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Omar went through hundreds of questions to give us this collection. This is a sampling of what we would have to get right if we wanted to get our driver's license. All right, next question. Hold on, hold on. I think we're going to answer.
Starting point is 00:48:52 I think we're going to go one at a time. We'll answer as we go? Okay. Yep, yep, all right. Vanessa, what did you write? Everyone has their answers penned down. Everyone pens down. What did you write, Vanessa?
Starting point is 00:49:00 I wrote, Slow down. Release gas and move to the right. All right. I'm pretty sure that's the right. Why are we laughing? You don't know what you guys put. Johnny, Johnny, what did you write, Johnny?
Starting point is 00:49:16 I put you take your foot off the brake and the gas, first of all. The brake and the gas? Yeah. Well, you can't pump the brakes because then that's how you hydroplane, and that's how you spin out of control and hit the divider. Okay, so you say take foot off brake and gas. Yeah, just coast. Just let it take you.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Just let it take you and just steer. That's it. Allie? I believe you keep the steering wheel straight and slowly pump the brakes. Slowly pump the brakes. Jake, what did you write? Turn into the skid and, yeah, make sure to not slam on the brakes, but, like, gently hit the brakes. Yeah, I wrote, I think you're supposed to steer towards the skid, I believe.
Starting point is 00:49:53 I wrote that as well. I wrote steer towards the skid and slowly pump the brakes. I think if you turn the steering wheel, you start getting crazy town. I think that's the whole plan. That's how you get control of the car again. I think I remember that. I remember that from the last time I even thought about that was... God, these really traumatize us for life, huh?
Starting point is 00:50:11 Were any of us right? Some of you were partially right. Nobody was fully right. Oh, great. Oh, my God. What is the answer? The answer, and this is one of those tricky ones that there's another question, I believe, on the DMV questionnaire that is similar to this. The answer to this particular question is take off your foot, take your foot off the accelerator, and steer in the direction you want the vehicle to go.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Aha, I said release gas, so I get it. Well, you said pull over to the right, which is not what you said. Release gas and move to the right. But the part that everybody got wrong was you have to steer in the direction you want the vehicle to go. So I think this is one of these questions that they put in here because I think if ice is involved, then it's steer into it. If you're on an icy road. Oh, man. It's DMV, man.
Starting point is 00:51:00 They get you every time. What is going on? You bastards! So I guess, no. So we're all down one. You're all down one. We're all down one. So that's one.
Starting point is 00:51:07 No, me and Clyde got it right. No, you didn't. And me too. No, you didn't. No, you didn't say to steer into the sky. Yeah, we're all wrong. We all technically are one hour now. This is adding to our total.
Starting point is 00:51:19 We're not all at an hour. Go to question. Well, if whoever... We're all equally... Right. We're all equally wrong at this point. What happens if we all get all of them wrong? Because we're going to be doing the show from the DMV one day.
Starting point is 00:51:31 All right, here we go. The next one. What is the minimum following distance you should maintain behind another vehicle? Oh, crap. What is the minimum following distance you should maintain behind another vehicle? Oh, okay. Minimum following distance. Can we ask a follow-up?
Starting point is 00:51:53 Like, are you looking for? I don't know I'm looking at the answer Can you ask follow ups on the written test? No And that's where all these questions go You have all these follow ups And you can't ask any of them
Starting point is 00:52:03 Minimum following distance Are we going metric? Or are we going the metric system? Are we talking about like on the freeway? On the streets? The question just says What is the minimum following distance This is why everyone fails
Starting point is 00:52:21 Because they get in their heads That's why people have to cheat That's why you had to cheat. Metaglasses can answer this. All right. All right. I'm ready. I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:52:30 Me too. Ready. Johnny, what did you write? I put 25 feet. All right. Sounds plausible. What did you write, Allie? I wrote a car's length.
Starting point is 00:52:38 One car's length. Jake, what did you write? Jake, don't make the noises. You don't know the answer. I think I do. Why are you making the noises? You're not the judge. I should be.
Starting point is 00:52:45 If you continue this, you're the automatic loser. Yeah, you're going to go to the DMV, which will probably be an upgrade for you anyway. I put five seconds behind the car. Time. Vanessa? I put one car distance. I think that's right. I think it's a car thing.
Starting point is 00:53:00 I thought it was like three seconds or three cars length. Whatever's. How are you supposed to figure that out as you're driving? I don't know. No one knows. Three seconds? How are you supposed to know seconds? But I think that's the way they do it at the DMV.
Starting point is 00:53:15 It's stupid like that. How do you measure seconds? Yeah, exactly. How do you measure seconds? I really don't know. One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi. Yeah, but from the car in front of you, so you're just supposed to pick a marker and be like... So, Klein, what's your answer?
Starting point is 00:53:29 Three cars lengths or three seconds? Three cars lengths is so many. No, no, no, you got to pick one or the other. Yeah, three cars lengths. Okay. That's so much space. Yeah, that's a lot of space. That's like a mattress.
Starting point is 00:53:41 I think you're supposed to be... That's like nobody, what are you going to do in traffic? I thought you're supposed to be a car's length for every 10 miles you're driving behind a car. So if you're going 30, three cars lengths. Right, okay. That's what I thought. I don't know anymore, apparently. Well, you're all wrong, but Jake is the closest.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Damn it. Boom. What's the answer? At least three seconds. I said that. Seconds? I said that. How do you measure seconds?
Starting point is 00:54:04 I said seconds. You did. He said three seconds, or he went with three truck slings or whatever. God damn it. Okay. So that means that we've all gotten two wrong, which is two hours at the DMV if we lose. All right. Moving on.
Starting point is 00:54:19 Can you legally use a handheld cell phone while driving in California? This is a multiple choice. A, no. B, yes. C, if the call is important. D, only if you're driving a Class C vehicle. Oh, my God. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:54:33 F you, Dean. I don't know what that means. This one's easy. Class C vehicle. It's got to be no. It's just got to be no. No, because this is where they get you, because Class C may mean. What's Class C?
Starting point is 00:54:42 That's commercial license. That's motorcycles. No, that's. Man, we should just revoke her license, dude. Vanessa, you should not be driving. Wow. We're taking the DMV quiz because apparently there's a big cheating scandal. It's got to be.
Starting point is 00:54:55 All right. Everyone's got their answers? Yeah. It's no. Well, Vanessa, what did you put? I put no. Yeah. Jake?
Starting point is 00:55:01 Yeah, no. Johnny? No. No. What did you put? You're doing commercial tea driver's license. I put no. I put no.
Starting point is 00:55:09 I put no. A, no. But now I'm thinking it's D. Which one is it? It is no. Yeah. Okay. Hey, God.
Starting point is 00:55:15 That's the one you look back on and you're like, yes! Yeah. I thought that cost you. All right. Trying to throw me off with the D. All right. Moving on. We are retaking the driving test now to see.
Starting point is 00:55:25 Well, losers got to sit at the DMV for hours, up to two hours right now at the DMV. All right. What should you do when entering a freeway? Is that multiple choice? Okay. This one is. Sorry. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:55:37 This one is multiple choice. Sorry about that. A, adjust your speed to match the freeway traffic and merge when it's safe. B, come to a stop and wait to merge until an opening. C, look for an opening that is at least three cars in length and speed into the opening. Or D, use blinker to inch in slowly. Oh, my God. They're all right.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Oh, man. How are they all right? They're all so different. They're all right based on which freeway you're trying to get into. Facts. Oh, yeah. The one in Pasadena? I've done every single thing he just said as well.
Starting point is 00:56:11 I've done those things. In traffic, you might have to inch. All right. What did everyone put? Yeah, I'm ready. Omar, was there D? Was there four answers? Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:23 D was use blinker to inch in slowly. I didn't say D. I was just wondering. Oh, okay. That's not your answer. No. My answer is C. I put A.
Starting point is 00:56:33 I put A also. The answer is A. Wait, what was C? C was look for an opening that is at least three cars in length and speed up into the opening. She would never get on the freeway. All right, Vanessa, that's, you know, up to three. She's like, I guess I'll try the next one. Three hours.
Starting point is 00:56:55 There's so much space. Vanessa, you're now currently losing with a score of three wrong. So what's happening? I need to see it in front of me. I'm not a person that listens and gets the answer. I have to see it and then I'll guess. And then I'll get the wrong answer. By the way, a couple of people wanted to point out Class C is a regular driver's license.
Starting point is 00:57:15 You dumbasses. Yeah, I thought it was just a commercial license. It's what you all have. Yeah. Not commercial, Allie. Just regular. It's a regular driver's license. Car.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Sorry, car. Just a regular ass license. Holy crap, says 917. None of you should have driver's licenses. Here we go with the next one. When driving in fog, what headlights should you use? Oh, God. Fog.
Starting point is 00:57:34 The amount of fog questions on this crap. Oh, my God. It affects so little of my driving. I can count, of all the times I've driven, fog, less than 0.01%. Has affected me zero times. And it's cool. It's like you're driving through a bong hit. It's a trick question, too, because we're in L.A.
Starting point is 00:57:49 It's never foggy down here. That's not true. There are mornings, especially coming through the canyon, where I am in heavy fog. Yeah, if you live near the beach. Twice a year, but it happens. Okay. This is multiple choice? It is not.
Starting point is 00:58:01 Damn. When driving in fog, what headlights should you use? All right. All right, everyone write down their answer. Pens down? Yes. Your pens down? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Hold on. Hold on. Spelling. Okay, I'm ready. All right. Vanessa, you get to go first. Okay. Low.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Low lights. What is that? Low lights. Low lights. My car has that. Your car doesn't have that? What did you put, Jake? Yeah, it's normal headlights.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Low lights. Normal? What is normal? Just your normal headlights. Just make sure you don't use your brights. I wrote low beams. Yeah, it's fog lights. There's literally fog lights.
Starting point is 00:58:38 A lot of cars don't have fog lights. Oh, interesting. Those little orange ones. Huh? You mean like a blinker? No. The ones on the side of the headlights. Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:50 There's headlights. Those are called fog lights. If you're doing it at night, you can't use those. There's low beam and then there's high beam. And I thought low beam is what I put. What did you put, Allie? I put fog lights. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:02 My car has that too. There are fog lights. Well, what's the answer? Because if you put the headlights, it can make it too bright and then you can't see. The answer from the DMV is low beam headlights. Low beam, baby. I remember that. I remember that from my actual driving test.
Starting point is 00:59:15 I think we're all saying the same thing. No, you said fog. You said fog lights. But like in our cars, there's a mode that says fog lights, which is low beams. And you're wrong. According to the DMV, that's a trick. It's a trick button in your car. I'm going to give us the right answer.
Starting point is 00:59:27 It's not a trick button. I put on, it says fog lights, which I guess would be a low beam headlight. No, that's different. I didn't get that wrong. It is called fog lights. Allie got that wrong. I didn't get that wrong. I'm not taking this, guys.
Starting point is 00:59:40 I did not get that wrong. No, I'm not. If you were going to go to the DMV and you would have written fog lights and the answer is no beam headlights, you would have got wrong. There's multiple choice on every DMV question. Well, you picked the wrong choice. No, I didn't. Fog lights is, I'm not taking that as a wrong answer. It's like you cheat on Allie Knows the News.
Starting point is 01:00:01 So, Vanessa, you're tied with Allie. No, I'm not. No, you're not. I'm seriously no. I go with a lot of crap I didn't get this wrong So you guys can go F off Can someone ask
Starting point is 01:00:16 Are fog lights the same as low beam Can someone ask that question Hey Siri Are low beams the same as fog lights This doesn't involve you Low beam headlights and fog lights Differ in terms of configuration Thank you
Starting point is 01:00:34 Don't listen to her Oh my god The text line is overwhelming They are different Low beams and fog lights are two different types of lights I'm sorry I got it wrong too Because I was with Allie on that one And my car's got the exact same configuration
Starting point is 01:00:51 Just like hers so I understand where she's coming from So now we have a three way tie for the bottom It's Allie, Vanessa and Johnny In the bottom Alright Omar we have two more questions Two more questions okay This one's multiple choice here What should you do before backing up
Starting point is 01:01:07 A. Back up over you so we can stop this. That's right on again, Allie. That's five hours now in the DMV. All right. A. Look at backup camera only. Wait, wait, wait. Start over. A. Look at backup camera only.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Wait, wait. Just read the initial question. Okay, the question. What should you do before backing up? A. Look at backup camera only. B. Check behind your vehicle and look over your shoulder to make sure the path is clear. C, hand signal out driver's side window, or D, look left and right, then proceed. Wait, hold on.
Starting point is 01:01:45 What are you backing up for? It doesn't matter. Driveway? It doesn't matter. It just says what should you do before backing up. And a backup camera is an option, you're saying? That's the first one. A, look up backup camera only.
Starting point is 01:01:56 Okay, and go through the answer one more time. Okay, that was A. B is check behind your vehicle and look over your shoulder to make sure the path is clear. C. Hand signal out driver's side window Or D. Look left and right Then proceed Klein is doing the hand signal I was trying to figure out what hand signal
Starting point is 01:02:14 You would do to say you're backing up Yeah, you would do that in a Whole Foods parking lot I've never seen that, but I know that there is A stupid hand signal question I've gotten wrong before Alright, so what did you put down? I only put down B Because there's When he said the coast is clear
Starting point is 01:02:29 I feel like the DMV loves using that stupid When the coast is clear, they love that verbiage Da-da-da-da-da. When the coaster's clear. Yeah, I put B, too. Me, too. I put B. I put B, too.
Starting point is 01:02:39 What is the answer? The answer is B. Yeah. You guys all got that one right. Last question. Okay, last one. Here we go. Last question.
Starting point is 01:02:45 I thought we were doing 10. Nope. So what if there's a three-way tie? What are we going to do? All three of you got to go. No, we don't. Rock, paper, scissors. No.
Starting point is 01:02:54 I'm not doing rock, paper, scissors to see who sits at the DMV. We'll do rock, paper, fog lights, Allie. No. And there are people on the text line saying that we're right. Sure. Go ahead. What should you do when approaching a pedestrian in a marked or unmarked crosswalk? If they're hot, you go.
Starting point is 01:03:14 Flash the high beams. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you have a hooga horn, you use that. You use your hooga horn, clearly. Wait, that is not a multiple choice. It is not, no. What should you do when approaching a pedestrian in a marked or unmarked crosswalk? unmarked
Starting point is 01:03:30 which means there's just jaywalking yeah you flip you give him the finger but the DMV wouldn't say that
Starting point is 01:03:37 it's like alright Jake have their answer yes Jake what'd you write Ezra stop stop
Starting point is 01:03:49 yeah why are you putting your hands up in the air like you're being arrested I'm putting my pen down I'm not changing my answer okay
Starting point is 01:03:57 I said you yield the right away to the pedestrian. Yield the right-of-way. I feel like that's the verbiage they like. Yep. What does yield mean?
Starting point is 01:04:04 Slow down or stop? It can mean stop. It can mean slow down. Yeah. Coming to a full stop would be, that could cause a problem, cause an accident.
Starting point is 01:04:11 You yield, yield to ye. So you don't stop. You approach the pedestrians. You yield them the right, they get the... Yeah. That's what I put too.
Starting point is 01:04:24 I put you slow down and you give them the right-of-way. But that's what you put. I know you run, In real life, you run over them. Slow down, stop, and let them go because pedestrians get the right of way. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:34 So you said slow down, stop, and then let them go? Obviously, like, I'm seeing them. Oh, snap, let me slow down, let me stop so I don't kill them. So does the DMV think that the answer is, oh, snap, slow down? Oh, snap. Slow down, stop, and the pedestrian gets the right of way. Jake, what'd you put, Jake? I already said I said stop.
Starting point is 01:04:54 Allie? Yeah, I put stop and allow the pedestrian to pass. Omar? The answer is slow down and yield the right-of-way to the pedestrian. OMG! I got it right! Wow! No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:05:07 Whoever said stop is not right. And I said slow down. Yield can mean stop. I said slow down. I didn't say stop. Yield means whatever. You said yourself. Yield means yield.
Starting point is 01:05:17 It could mean stop. It could mean slow down. Yield. Yes. Yield. I understand you're saying yield. Right. It could mean slow or stop.
Starting point is 01:05:26 But I don't think... Read the answer, Omar. No, but when you yield the right-of-way, like in one of those wacky turnabouts, you don't slow down necessarily. Yeah, because yield means more. It doesn't mean slow only. It doesn't mean stop only. Yield is yield. I'm going to throw out that question.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Because Allie's going to lose it, and I don't want her to lose it. Okay, so you want me to just go to another one? One more question. This is really it. We're way behind. All right, here we go. How far before a turn should you signal? Forget it.
Starting point is 01:05:54 Not a multiple choice. Come on. Is this a seconds thing? All right, here we go. How far before a turn should you signal? Okay. All right, I'm ready. What is it, Jake?
Starting point is 01:06:09 You can't tell us if it's inches, yards, feet, miles. I'll tell you. It's feet. Yeah, all right. God, why did you have to? God, I don't know this. What were you going to put, Vanessa? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Let me think. Let me think. This is before you signal? No one even signals anymore. I feel like this is an outdated question. But I know that. It's numbers. I hate numbers.
Starting point is 01:06:39 I have a guess. No. I'm trying to do the math. The math? you just wrote the same thing that you crossed out I think it's half that you draw a card
Starting point is 01:06:58 Vanessa what'd you put okay I'm gonna say a hundred feet that's so funny I put that down too I did too I put a fifty what's the answer
Starting point is 01:07:11 the answer is a hundred feet Jake is now entered the bottom And that is a wrong answer. That would be Jake's third wrong answer as well. So now we have a three-way tie. Four-way tie. Yeah, four-way tie for last.
Starting point is 01:07:29 I have one last question here, too. This is the only other question I have. Let's go ahead. We have to do it. We have to. What should you do if you hear a siren from an emergency vehicle? What do you do when you hear a siren from an emergency vehicle? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:07:52 I mean, this one. Guys, the cheating scandal of the DMV has led us to this. The loser of this quiz will have to go to the DMV and spend four hours. That will be the number, because assume they'll get one more wrong. Four hours at the DMV for no reason, which is the worst punishment we've ever had on the show. Okay, I'm ready. Let's see. Again, what should you do if you hear a siren from an emergency vehicle?
Starting point is 01:08:25 Jake, you want to go first? No. I'm telling you, when you're at the bottom, it really affects you. Okay, let me tell you. Move to the right side and let the emergency people go. Move, stop to the right side. Move, stop? Yeah, like you move to the right and then you stop.
Starting point is 01:08:45 You stay there. Emergency people go. Okay. Johnny, what'd you put? Well, I knew you had to be very specific. So kind of like Vanessa, first you slow, then you blinker to the right, and then you pull off to the right, and then you let all emergency vehicles pass safely as you are standing still, and then you take off. Then you take off.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Jesus. Allie, what'd you put? I just put pull to the side of the road. Pull to the side of the road. No blinker? you have to pull the side of the road yeah safely move to the right and allow the emergency vehicle to pass yeah but if they're coming and you're in the left-hand lane you're going to screw everything up by getting all the way over to the right-hand side i don't i think if it's
Starting point is 01:09:36 an emergency you just need to pull over pick whichever side is closest you think all right Jake? Yeah, I wrote slow down signal and pull over. You just have to pull over immediately. You have to slow down signal. Is anyone wrong, Omar, definitely? Definitely people are wrong here. Damn, whoa.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Are multiple people wrong? Yes. What are we going to do here, guys? You have to go. What is the right answer? The right answer is you have to pull over to the right edge of the road and stop until the emergency vehicles pass. That sounds like my answer.
Starting point is 01:10:12 That's what I said. I said right as well. Yeah. That's right. Whoa. I got it. Allie and Jake did not get that right. I said pull over.
Starting point is 01:10:18 Damn. He said pull over. He didn't say which side. That's the only side. Allie and Jake. Four hours in the DMV. No, we're not doing this together. Together, Allie.
Starting point is 01:10:28 No, we're not doing it together. There's one loser. It's just Allie. There's one loser. We're not both sitting there. Find out who the loser is next break, yeah? No, no. Let's keep this going.
Starting point is 01:10:38 We're so over. Yeah, we do need to go. This is crazy. We've got to take a break. I don't know what was resolved here, but we should not be driving. This is the world famous KROQ. We've got it, Friday! We're on an eventful last hour, way behind as we enter 9 o'clock now on KROQ.
Starting point is 01:10:55 Good morning and happy Friday. Welcome to your weekend. We are Kline Alley Show. Controversy behind the scenes. Looking at all the many text message opinions pouring through right now about who technically lost the DMV quiz and has to spend four hours of their life at the DMV for no reason. And sadly, you know, it's come down to pretty much an Allie versus Jake battle.
Starting point is 01:11:15 Allie said she'd rather go by herself than have to go with Jake. Oh, come on. But also, as she pointed out, I barely have enough time to shower every day. And Jake has nothing but time. So let's just send Jake. I'll tell you, yesterday I had five minutes to shower and I threw off the entire schedule because I took an extra two minutes to shave my legs. That's how much time I have. And Jake's got nothing but time.
Starting point is 01:11:38 What are you talking about? Well, I mean... I'm very busy. You have no obligations outside of here. Anytime we've tried to plan the summer kegger in Klein's backyard, you have full availability on every single day of the summer. We've gone through every day of the summer because we're trying to find a date that everyone can go, and everyone's got scheduling issues, and Jake's like, I'm free, I'm free, I'm available,
Starting point is 01:11:56 I'm free, that day works, that day's also good, and everyone else has got, like, limited... If Jake just took his nap in a DMV chair, it would be fine for him. Jake, that's a perfect nap place. Well, you know what I'm going to have to do, guys, because I think fair is fair. And since you both technically got the same low score on the quiz, you're going to have to take this to the road. And we're going to have to have the two of you do an on-road driving test. And whoever gets the lower score will be the person that has to go to the DMV. Do we got a race?
Starting point is 01:12:27 That's right. We're going to do a track race. We'll do a Fast and Furious race. That or one of those Smeshy Smeshy things, competitions. Oh, yeah, that's cool. That sounds good when I'm pregnant. What is that? Demolition derby thing.
Starting point is 01:12:38 There you go. We could do that. So we'll have to figure that out. We've got a lot of driving instructors that have reached out to us during that quiz to explain the reasons why some of us were right or wrong. And maybe we'll get one of them to come here and test some skills to see who will spend four hours at the DMV for no reason. Will it be Jake? Will it be Allie? We've got lots to get to this hour on the show.
Starting point is 01:12:58 And we failed to give you those tickets that we promised you last hour. So let's go ahead and say call it 20 right now. Good news for you. you are going to go to Universal Studios Hollywood and enjoy the brand new fast and furious roller coaster there
Starting point is 01:13:10 Hollywood Drift Caller 20 right now gets four tickets and then later this hour we will get you into the festival happening in Santa Monica
Starting point is 01:13:18 Ocean Avenue so be right excuse me no that's not right Ocean Way god damn it why is that so hard for you it's just the way
Starting point is 01:13:24 Vanessa wrote it it's all backwards don't blame her at this point I can't get it right in my brain my brain's scrambled well I think once your brain scrambles something
Starting point is 01:13:32 and you can't unscramble it We'll get into your ADD news coming up in just a moment as well. And if you've been waiting around to figure out what team LeBron is going to be on next year, he now has officially, officially made his announcement. So don't look it up. For real. For real. This isn't one of those stupid bits where we play LeBron.
Starting point is 01:13:51 But it'll probably turn into that as well. Talking about Ali's baby. This is a real announcement, and we will give it to you in two minutes after Lincoln Park K-Rock. The Ali Show on a Friday morning. Tickets to give you all hour long. music festivals and right now it's a universal studios hollywood if your name is mackenzie and you're listening in costa mesa good morning mackenzie good morning four tickets to universal studios hollywood enjoy that new fast furious hollywood drift ride and everything else going
Starting point is 01:14:18 on there and congratulations amazing thank you so much thank you for uh listening did you listen to the dmv driving test by chance uh a little bit of it yeah what do you think kind of a disaster In your opinion, thank you, yes. If you had to pick a loser, who would you go with? Jake, naturally. Thank you so much for that. No, no, no. Jake, naturally.
Starting point is 01:14:43 I just said naturally loser. Yeah, I think that she's just saying in general. All right, let's get to your news now. Grab your Adderall. It's time for ADD News. Okay, after all the anticipation, we know where LeBron James is going. His next team will be... Do you want to make the announcement?
Starting point is 01:15:01 Go ahead, LeBron. We're listening. I have decided that I will play next season with the Philadelphia 76ers. I have also decided that Allie lost the DMV quiz. Oh, my God. That's unbelievable. How did he weigh that? That was decisions he makes so quickly.
Starting point is 01:15:17 Two major decisions both made by LeBron. Unbelievable. He's the king. Okay. King James has stated Allie lost the DMV test. He is going to be a Philadelphia 76er. Yes, he will be a Philadelphia 76er after rumors of him joining the Warriors and the Heat. And at one point, the Heat had accidentally put out a LeBron press release.
Starting point is 01:15:38 It was ridiculous. The end was way less exciting. He signed a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option. And he put out... This guy is wordy. This is a long... I mean, he put it out on X, so it had to be like 17 different... Slides?
Starting point is 01:15:56 Yes. I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn't ready to announce it And I knew I needed some time to really decide But I was pretty sure I'd played my last game I was honest at that last press conference When I said I needed to look at myself And decide if I still love this game
Starting point is 01:16:13 I still truly love this game And I have more to give The last few weeks have been really special I've never been able to have no clue what to do And take real time to just think I've had an incredible few months with all the people I love Trying to figure it all out This is my last decision.
Starting point is 01:16:30 I'm not going for money. I'm not going for family. What I'm really playing for at this point, I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship. And I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team. And I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Hope he likes the sound of boos because those Philly fans are a bunch of dicks. and they will boo you loudly and aggressively. They're not going to embrace you. They're not. Some would argue he never really got embraced by the Lakers because he was always a LeBron thing, not like a Laker. He's not in the same category as a Kobe. But regardless now, going to Philly, I mean, I would have got,
Starting point is 01:17:15 it made sense to me. All those other rumors made sense why he'd want to go back to Miami, made sense why he'd want to go to Golden State and try to get with Steph. That all made sense. This makes no sense in any way. I think when Tom Brady picked the Buccaneers, it also just seemed kind of random. Yeah, but it's Florida. That's what you do when you get old.
Starting point is 01:17:32 You move to Florida. Yeah, I know. But it kind of is like, oh, let's just take a team that like is whatever and I'm going to make it my team and I'm going to put all my identity on it and I'm going to rise it up to the championship. What it like kind of a neutral territory, right? Like Warriors already has that legacy attached to it. Miami Heat has their own thing going, you know, and you're infiltrating their vibe.
Starting point is 01:17:52 But there really is not as much of a vibe here. I will say I was at the mall yesterday, and at the Lid store, all of the LeBron Lakers jerseys were at a steep discount. Very, now's the time. If you're waiting to buy yourself a LeBron Lakers jersey, you can get yourself a decent deal right now. After careful consideration, I have decided that I'm ready to announce that I, too, have never been intimate with Jake. Beautiful messages all week long from LeBron James. So Taylor Farms was the number one culprit for all the explosive diarrhea people were getting. And cyclosporiasis cases continue to get worse, though RFK said it's all under control now.
Starting point is 01:18:27 But now we have a new mystery food that could be causing it. And we have our first case of a pregnant woman getting it. Health officials say they're now investigating an additional outbreak of that parasitic illness, a new one from the same parasite, though they haven't said where the new cases are or what food may be tainted. Both interesting pieces of information that I think all of us would like to know. Abigail LaMondis finally starting to feel better weeks after becoming infected with cyclospora. I have never been miserable like that in my life. She believes she ingested the parasite after eating at a Michigan Taco Bell in late June.
Starting point is 01:19:01 She spent almost a week in the hospital where doctors were unable to prescribe the standard treatment because she's pregnant. Were you afraid for the baby? What a great question. No, I wasn't. I'm sure it was all going to be fine. In the hospital for a week. That will shock her. There's the answer.
Starting point is 01:19:18 Wow. I was very afraid. But the worse I got, the more I thought, this can't be good for the baby either. But she's fine now. So I guess the first pregnant case, she's a survivor, which is exciting. A lot of people said we're dicks for eating the tainted lettuce on the show because you're pregnant. But Allie, if you actually listen to the show, we did not force Allie to eat the tainted lettuce. No, you shouldn't force me to go to the DMV either because I'm more likely to catch something there.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Probably. But you can see that up on our Klein Allie Show Instagram right now. It's worthy of a quick watch, the raw lettuce wheel spinning around. So the movie-going industry is back in a lot of ways, and there are more people going to the movies. And the movie theaters themselves are bouncing back, but it's not because of ticket sales. It is because they are making a killing on popcorn buckets. They've just released some of the numbers. And AMC, which is the world's largest theater chain, say they have made $100 million in revenue this year just from collectible popcorn buckets.
Starting point is 01:20:08 That's crazy. And Cinemark, which is the third largest chain, said that sales from popcorn buckets has contributed to 40% increase in revenue for them just over the past few years. And now, yes, people are pissed that it's costing more than ever to go to a movie, but people are fully willing to pay up to $70 on a plastic popcorn bucket. What's that Trojan horse popcorn bucket that people are getting for... That one's a $70 one. That's the $70 one? And it's a little plastic horse with popcorn inside of its stomach. and tons of people are buying it
Starting point is 01:20:40 because it's like a collector's item. It's not a collector's item because they're going to make as many of them as they can sell. I know, but then... It's not necessarily limited, but then like 20 years from now, you're like, look.
Starting point is 01:20:50 20 years from now, it's going to be in your garage. It's going to be in your garage. Hey, look at this. Look at this stupid popcorn bucket. And it's broken because it's plastic. Does anyone want this thing?
Starting point is 01:20:59 No? Throw it out. I mean, once that little flap breaks off, which is like a week after you get it. These LeBron jerseys and old popcorn buckets are going to be all the rage to buy at discounted prices.
Starting point is 01:21:08 Think about all the things that we're going to pass on to our kids. I know. People are saying like, oh yeah, I'll buy the popcorn bucket that I'll sit on my couch at home and watch a movie and eat out of the horse's belly.
Starting point is 01:21:15 But you're not. Well, my kid uses his little Toy Story one because that's exciting for him. But it's the only one he has. Yeah, but that's also a child. These are like adults buying this stuff.
Starting point is 01:21:23 Yeah, no, it is true. We get into a brand new hour. We're already in a brand new hour of this show. Oopsies. That's right. That's right. Professional radio for you.
Starting point is 01:21:32 What do you want from us? We got to take a break. That's what we have to do now. We'll come back in a moment. We have tickets for you so you can go to this festival happening in Santa Monica, Ocean Way. You'll see the Killers. You'll see Sublime. You'll see Jack White.
Starting point is 01:21:42 You'll see many others. And we have your tickets coming up in a moment as we get into a little Johnny Doesn't Know and much more happening this hour right here on KROQ. KROQ Line Alley Show. E18 on the text line wants to know if Omar could update him on to how many views that video has currently on YouTube. It's over a billion. We know that much. But Omar's the only one who keeps track.
Starting point is 01:21:59 He loves that knowledge. Nope, don't care. I can actually tell you the exact amount right now. It's been a while since we've had an Evanescence update bring me to life. Omar loves factoids like this. Big fan of fun facts and factoids at OmarCon. It is 1.7 billion, 54 million, 731,553 views. She's like the original Mr. Beast, this Amy Lee.
Starting point is 01:22:21 Good for her. 1.7? We could hit the 2 billion mark this year. When we started this factoid years ago, when I first mentioned it, and Omar said, why the hell are you saying that? No, this is what I said. I just want to say, who gives a crap? Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 01:22:35 It was something like that. It just crossed a billion. That was a big moment. So it's about to double. Well, we've done our part at KROQ. We've definitely played them enough over the last year to remind everyone how great Evanescence is. How many billions of times do you think we've played this song on KROQ and its history? I think we're responsible for all of those billions right there.
Starting point is 01:22:54 I think we are. Guys, this weekend there's a cool festival happening. the return of the Vans Warped Tour which is something that some of us grew up with for a while. That was the first festival I ever went to. First one Allie went to and this year they brought it back and put it in a few cities
Starting point is 01:23:11 and we're lucky enough that it's happening in Long Beach but we will not be there. Johnny's going to be down there and I believe Kevin and Megan will be there. And on our phone right now we couldn't get Kevin because he doesn't wake up before 10 these days. He's putting in enough early hours. But this is the woman to talk to
Starting point is 01:23:27 We said we want Megan Holiday, and now here she is on the phone, the great Megan Holiday. What's up, Megan? Hey, I'll take runner-ups. I'll take runner-ups. No, you're not. To be fair, you were our first choice, but, you know, we had to pretend that we wanted to talk to everyone. And Johnny kept offering to come in here and talk about it. But you're there for a few reasons.
Starting point is 01:23:45 You're not only there to interview all of the bands that will be at Vans Warped Tour all weekend and broadcasting live. You're there because you're also going to save lives like you do because you're a good person. Well, that's questionable. But, yes, my nonprofit organization, Life of the Party, we're going to be there once again this year. And so people can come to the booth. They can get trained on how to use Narcan, which reverses opioid overdose. And the crazy thing about this is, like, last year we actually hooked up a bunch of bartenders and trained them and everything. And one of them came back to us last year.
Starting point is 01:24:22 and she had let us know that she had to actually use it at Warped Tour, and she was able to revive someone. So it's just one of these things, you know, because a lot of times people come to our booth and they're like, oh, you know, I don't do drugs or I don't know people who do it. It's like, well, that's great because you've got to be the person that's of sound mind that can actually revive the person who might go down because you might be at a festival, you might be anywhere,
Starting point is 01:24:46 and you can save a life. Well, and fans of Warped Tour can get crazy. I remember when I, I mean, it was the first time I'd ever crowd surfed, but also the first and only time I ever took a drug where I didn't know what it was. And now you think all these years later where how much more dangerous that is now than it was a couple of decades ago. And that's great that you're now hearing success stories of direct lives that you saved just by starting this. Yeah, so far we have found out that we've saved, I believe, 10 or 11 lives that we know of. You know, and we started this thing in 2023, and it is very, like, we're a tiny little team, you know, just doing the best that we can trying to get this stuff out there.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Megan, how much Norcan would someone need if they had to lift Allie up in a crowd while she was crowd surfing? Would you recommend to recover from that? Let's go with 12. Okay. Let's go with 12. That's more than the amount of lives that you've saved. That's a lot of Norcan. Hey, but not only are you doing good things, but selfishly people go, what's in it for me?
Starting point is 01:25:50 And I'm going to tell you because I thought this was pretty cool. You got Tony Hawk to sign a bunch of you have obviously stuff signed from bands. But Tony Hawk signed some skate skateboards that you'll be given out at the at the booth as well. Correct. Yes, absolutely. Yeah. So we actually got some special life of the party skate decks made and Tony signed some of those. And then he also gave us one of his like brand new birdhouse Tony Hawk skateboards that he signed as well. So we will have those to raffle off. We're going to have tons of signed stuff from the bands that we love who are playing like All Time Low and Jimmy D World, Sleeping With Sirens, you know, Papa Roach.
Starting point is 01:26:27 And then one of the coolest things that I'm very excited about is tomorrow Save Ferris are going to do a signing at our booth from 4 to 5 p.m. So this is the first time that they have their vinyl that has ever been printed. So they're going to have that on sale, and people can come to the booth and get it signed. We'll put up all the details on our socials. Of course, they're probably up on KROX as well. But Megan Halliday is one of the good ones here who's out there. She's not just wasting time sitting at the DMV because she lost a bet like we are. She's out there actually saving real lives, making a difference.
Starting point is 01:27:01 And this is very important to her, and I've gotten to see her do these events before. It's incredible how much you put into this, and it's all about doing some good for society and for humanity. So thank you for being one of the good ones here at KROQ so the rest of us can sit back and just say we know you. Well, thank you guys for always being super supportive and for having me on the show and letting me promote my little nonprofit. I really appreciate you guys. And congrats to you, Megan. I think you hit 10 years sober, didn't you, recently? Yeah, well, in January.
Starting point is 01:27:30 Yeah, so did they give you like a bigger chip? You get like a cooler, bigger chip for that? I hope. Maybe you guys can put something together. Ooh. Hit 11. Maybe you guys can put together a big trip. Well, I see our buddy Suave Agave is down the hall pouring tequila, but that probably
Starting point is 01:27:45 wouldn't be the right thing. Yeah, that's a bad celebration. I've got to think of a better thing between now and then. Anyway, go say hi to Megan Holliday. She'll be at the Vans Warped Tour. When do you guys start the live broadcast? Is that today? We start tomorrow, I believe, at 2, the broadcast start, but we're going to start interviews
Starting point is 01:28:02 at noon. First interview of the day tomorrow is Hooba Sank. Oh, my God. That's great. What a throwback. All right, so get ready for that. All them feels happening all weekend. Vans Warped Tour, and you'll be hearing all the action as it unfolds live on KROQ.
Starting point is 01:28:15 And go support Megan Holliday if you're going to be out there and get some of that. You don't even sell that. I realize that. You give that away for free. That Narcam is free stuff. Yeah, yep. It's all for free. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:28:27 So people can just come by the booth and enter the $5 raffle. As long as they get trained, they can enter the raffle, and that's our little caveat. I think I have one in my backpack that Megan gave me. You need two. You've got to have two. Yeah, I guess I should throw another one in there. It is good to have two. I'll hook you up.
Starting point is 01:28:43 I have a whole lot for you guys. Okay, okay. Megan, thank you, and thanks for joining us, and have fun at Van's Warped Tour. Thanks, guys. Love you. There she is, the great Megan Hollett. You know how many lives we've saved collectively on this show? I think we almost saved one.
Starting point is 01:29:00 Well, no, you hit that woman in the back that was choking on that chicken wing. That's right. I saved her life. But she, no, because apparently she does that all the time, she said, and you actually injured her. Yeah, but if I hadn't have been there, maybe, if I hadn't have done my thwack, I think she could have been dead. Her brother said that she chokes on all the time because of her phlegm issue. I think we can cancel it out with the amount of people that we've almost killed. Like, Vanessa almost killed that biker.
Starting point is 01:29:21 Right, right, right. Well, anyway, thank God Vanessa's evening things out. I mean, Megan is, because we are, as a team, we are not good. We are not good. They're dropping, like, flies around us. If you would like to win your way into another festival happening in Southern California, call us now for some Johnny Doesn't Know. That'll be happening after Sublime, a band you will be seeing if you go to Ocean Way Festival.
Starting point is 01:29:41 So call now and play next on KROQ. Imagine your toes in the sand watching that band right there in Santa Monica. It's a brand new festival put on by the folks behind Coachella. It is called, listen to this, Santa Monica Ocean Way Festival. You'll see Sublime, you'll see Jack White, you'll see The Killers, and you'll see many others. It's happening on Saturday, September 26th. and we have tickets for you to get in there a couple times this morning. Hopefully you all participate in the end-of-show quiz
Starting point is 01:30:04 to show you've been paying attention today. But if you can't wait around for that and you want to win them right now, we have a little thing called Johnny Doesn't Know. Johnny doesn't know. And I was like, okay. Oh, Johnny doesn't know. I didn't know Vegas was, like, in battle for, like, a while. Johnny doesn't know.
Starting point is 01:30:20 Johnny doesn't know. Gelato sounds like jello. Johnny doesn't know. It, like, goes wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. Wiggles. In honor of this festival, Ali, all of these questions are going to be about things having to do with the ocean because it is the ocean way festival you're going to say the dmv i was like no back to the dmv again uh this is
Starting point is 01:30:37 ocean questions for johnny and it's something that i think could be tricky however he claims the one thing he knows more than anything else on the planet is all things spongebob squarepants so under the sea could be a sweet spot it's i'm torn here because i think this is either going to be tricky for you johnny or you're going to surprise us all and you're going to have some vast knowledge of all things that happen 20,000 leagues under the sea because you are aware of all ocean-related animals and plants and everything else. And let me tell you, I love SpongeBob. Alyssa, we say hello to you now, first one out of the gate.
Starting point is 01:31:08 You don't need to know the answers to these questions. You just need to guess whether or not Johnny will know them. And everyone who gets theirs right, Allie's going to write your name down, pull one of those names at random, and that person will be going to Ocean Wave Festival. How are you doing, Alyssa? Are you ready to go? Yes, I am. I'm doing great. All right, Johnny. How does a dolphin breathe? Will Johnny know how a dolphin breathes? Yes or no? I think he will.
Starting point is 01:31:32 All right. She's got confidence in you, Johnny. The questions will get a little bit harder as we go along. We start with this one. How does a dolphin breathe? A dolphin goes, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee. That's usually how they breathe. Great start. Did you hear breed or breathe? Are you saying breed or breathe? What was the impression you did?
Starting point is 01:31:58 Let's start with that. Why don't we start with what you just did? Were you just doing an impression of dolphin sex? Well, because you said breed, and I was like, they breed. Oh, man. Are you saying breed or breathe? Breath. Breathe.
Starting point is 01:32:17 Breath. Breathe. Take a breath. Breath. Okay. Are you going to go with the same impression? Oh, man. So what he just did a moment ago was what he believes dolphin sex is.
Starting point is 01:32:27 Okay, I'm just making sure what that is. All right, Alyssa, you said Johnny will know. Johnny, I'm going to clarify the question. I apologize. Yes, please. How does a dolphin breathe? Through their little holes. When they come up in and out of the water, you know, they breathe through their little porthole on top of their head.
Starting point is 01:32:49 Okay. Alyssa, I cannot accept that. I'm so sorry. He tried. It's not called a porthole. It's a porthole. It's a little, like, hole that... It's got a specific name.
Starting point is 01:32:58 Stout. No. Stout? No. No? Damn, what are they called? A blowhole. Oh, a blowhole, yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:06 Like the blowfish. Yeah. Like a blowfish? No. He said they blow like a hole, and I was like, oh, who do you and the blowfish? No dolphin characters in SpongeBob. Wow. Actually, no, there's not.
Starting point is 01:33:17 That was the easiest question, Allie. Damn. Are you serious? That was tough, dude. Is the next question how do they have sex? Yeah, all the other ones are about fish sex. Different types of fish. How does a whale breed?
Starting point is 01:33:30 Go ahead. Mickey in Cyprus. Good morning, you're on. Johnny doesn't know. So far, no one has gotten anything right. So these tickets are yours, at least for now. Hey, Mickey, good morning. Good morning, guys.
Starting point is 01:33:44 Great trivia show this morning. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Here we go, Johnny. What sea creature has five arms and can regrow them? Will Johnny know this, yes or no? I'm going to say yes. All right.
Starting point is 01:34:04 Not a lot of confidence. He thinks he'll get this one. Johnny, what sea creature has five arms and can regrow them? Easy peasy. It's a starfish. All right. Patrick Star. That's right.
Starting point is 01:34:15 All right, Nicky, hold on one second. You said he would know, and he got that one right. and we move on to Saul. Good morning, Saul. Welcome to KROQ. It's Johnny Doesn't Know. How goes it? How's it going, everyone?
Starting point is 01:34:28 Good morning. Here's your question. Well, Johnny, oh, man. I'm excited for this one. What is a baby shark known as? Will Johnny know this, yes or no? I trust Johnny. I think he will know.
Starting point is 01:34:48 Wow. All right. confidence in you, Johnny. Obviously, you're a big fan of the song Baby Shark. I hear you singing it a lot. But are you aware of what a baby shark is known as? He says you will know.
Starting point is 01:35:04 They're known as infants. But I don't know the... Damn. I didn't even know they were baby sharks. I thought they just came out as like little sharks and then they grow big. I didn't know there was like an actual name for them.
Starting point is 01:35:20 You think they are just little adult sharks? Wow. Well, like a little dog would be... A puppy. Right, or a little cat would be a...
Starting point is 01:35:28 A kitten or a calf. Right, no. A calf is for cows. Right, thank you. And what is a little shark known as? All other animals have them. Oh, a cod.
Starting point is 01:35:40 A codfish. Wow. No? That is fascinating. Saul, I'm so sorry, dude. I'm sorry Seems like you won anyway He's happy
Starting point is 01:35:53 You think a cod is a little shark? Well remember in Peter Pan He's like fighting Captain Hook Don't be a codfish Yeah he's like don't be a codfish And I was like oh that's gotta be like a baby Like a wuss Yeah a baby shark
Starting point is 01:36:06 Like don't be a little wuss That's wrong What is the name of it? I know this because my kid is into sharks And we've read a million shark books Allie what is it? They are pups That's right
Starting point is 01:36:14 Shark pups A pup. A pup? Like a dog? And some of them eat each other in the womb. Yeah, it's cool. Oh, damn. That's a pup.
Starting point is 01:36:21 Allie got it right, but Johnny doesn't know. All right, time for one final question. Once again, the reason these are ocean themed is because you'll be winning Ocean Way Festival tickets, and only one person has gotten it correct so far, and that's Mickey. So if this doesn't go well for Lupe, then it's going to be Mickey's day today. And if Lupe gets it right, then Allie's going to have to do one of them coin flips and figure out who's going. Lupe, good morning.
Starting point is 01:36:45 Good morning. Johnny's had a tough round of this Johnny doesn't know. You understand that? Yeah. I've been hearing that. Yeah. Sorry about that. Johnny.
Starting point is 01:36:59 What is the measurement of speed on the ocean? What is the measurement of speed on the ocean? Will Johnny know this, yes or no? No, he will not. No. What was sadness in your voice? Johnny, what is the measurement of speed on the ocean? I know they use like that little like map circle thing that they have in the submarines.
Starting point is 01:37:23 And it goes like beep, beep. A sonogram or a sonar? A sonogram. Is it a sonogram? You know what I'm talking about? You think what they're using to look at my baby is the same thing they use to measure speed in the ocean? Well, because your baby's swimming in water inside of you right now. Yeah, you make a good point.
Starting point is 01:37:42 He's got a great point. So sonogram? They use the sonogram, like on the submarines, that go beep, beep, beep. Baby. Baby. Yeah, baby detected. Little shark. All right, so you got a sonogram?
Starting point is 01:37:56 Yeah, sonogram, I think. That's all I got. She said you would not know, and she was very, very, very right. I think the term you're looking for is sonar, but sonar is not a speed thing. Knots is the terminology. Knots. With a K? Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 01:38:11 Wow, damn, I didn't know that. As in Johnny did not learn anything, ever. Nope. All right, well, Allie, now it's down to two. Two people predicted correctly in this exciting round of Johnny Doesn't Know. It was Mickey and it was Lupe, and one of them is about to win themselves tickets to Ocean Way Festival. Who is randomly selected to win these tickets?
Starting point is 01:38:30 Lupe, congratulations. Lupe, look at that. You snuck in under the radar, right under the sonar. You snuck in, and we get you into Ocean Way Festival. Congratulations. Enjoy your killers. Enjoy your sublime, and hopefully you've enjoyed yourself this morning listening to this monstrosity of a radio show. Hold on one second and get your tickets.
Starting point is 01:38:52 Hey, by the way, if you didn't win them, don't feel too bad. We have more for you next hour and then every hour all day long until we're out of tickets. So keep winning them on KROQ. Quick break. We're back with some news and more after this. Grab your Adderall. It's time for ADD News. Hearing a police siren when you're on the road, on your way to work, whatever, it's panic-inducing.
Starting point is 01:39:11 It's anxiety-inducing, and I am sorry to say that it is about to get even worse because the LAPD is releasing these new sirens with new technology for their black-and-white patrol vehicles. It has an upgraded siren that is designed to alert drivers sooner and improve safety, but here's how. It will have a low-frequency warning system that is called a rumbler built into the siren so that the rumble will pierce through your car and rumble through your car.
Starting point is 01:39:42 This has been a thing. Car. Well, apparently this is the new fleet and this is what they sound like. Oh, hold on. I want to warn you before we play this that this is technically just for sampling reasons only so that you're aware of what you should be listening for
Starting point is 01:39:55 because I do know that I hate nothing more than driving around and hearing the sirens play on the radio because of some stupid thing and then I go, and you still have that moment where you're like, Goddamn, getting pulled over. This is the siren, and it's also the new loudspeaker. So once again, this is just a demo of what you could expect in the near future if you are being pulled over.
Starting point is 01:40:22 Move to the right. Drop the beat. Move to the right. Move to the right. Pull over. Your registration is acquired. There's a way to make it more fun. This is going to be how to do it.
Starting point is 01:40:39 It almost feels like they're getting somewhere right there. Yeah. It said, yeah, the low frequency tone can penetrate sound insulated vehicles, which will alert the driver. If you've got, like, your music up high or if you've got AirPods in or there's a bunch of reasons why you might not hear the initial siren, right? If you have AirPods in, that's just going to be an additional ticket right there. I can just rip those right out. Yeah, me too. Okay.
Starting point is 01:41:01 You've got to go ahead and figure out a way to rip the AirPods out and get your seatbelt on without them noticing. Speaking of ripping things out, Barbie will not stop until every single type of Barbie has been created. And here is the newest one. It is a pregnant Barbie, but she's not just pregnant, and that's it. You can also take the baby out of her stomach like aliens. Ah, abortion Barbie. Nice, nice. And this is, you can take the baby out, and you can also rip open the little sack that the baby is inside.
Starting point is 01:41:29 What? Like it's realistic. It's a pregnant woman with a removable stomach that contains a tiny plastic baby in a sack of slime that the kids get to free by ripping, twisting, you know, pulling. Oh, and then she's had it back to abs. Hey, why couldn't we do this? I love that that's the offensive part. It's kind of hard to hear with all the over talk, but women are very upset. Wait your turn, my good God.
Starting point is 01:41:52 So we don't need a Barbie for everything, but I do think we need this one, and here's why. girls little girly girls they love the idea of taking care of a fake baby and giving it its bottle and changing its diaper i think we need to show them the gross parts of having a baby so that they don't get so excited about it so quickly well this was my idea a couple weeks ago it's written down on my desk for prom babies the whole line of baby dolls that are like the ones you get at prom the ones you don't really want that the girls accidentally have in the toilet oh and then it cries at random times like all of these dolls just sit there and then you You can brush their hair and feed them their bottle and move on with your day.
Starting point is 01:42:29 I like Sack of Slime Barbie. Sack of Slime Barbie is realistic. Well, it's the fact you can put her abs on right after she gives birth. That part they don't like very much. That part, yeah, I understand. But the fact that it is a realistic look. Like newborns look disgusting. Ugly.
Starting point is 01:42:44 And a lot of people don't realize that until much later in life. You pull them out of the ocean. Like all waterlogged and stuff. And you're supposed to love them. I remember looking down at my kid for the first time. And people are like, I was in love by the moment I looked. Not me, I was like, oh my god, I was like, ah! I said to the doctor, I'm like, is this normal?
Starting point is 01:43:02 He's like, I don't know, he's like, I'm not sure about this one. I was like, I'm telling you, this is weird. Yeah, I know. You learn to love them eventually, but man, that first, it was not a love at first sight situation for me at all. Well, and I can't believe people who are like, oh, it looks like you. I'm like, it doesn't look like anything. This one sadly looks just like me. It looked just like me.
Starting point is 01:43:20 But if they had a doll that didn't just cry when you pressed a button. Right, all the time. You're trying to enjoy your Gabby's dollhouse. You're a nine-year-old girl, and then the baby is just crying, and you can't stop it. Or, like, you're trying to feed the baby, but you can't. For some reason, the baby's just not drinking the milk. The baby's not latching. And you have to figure out what that's about.
Starting point is 01:43:37 Yeah. Then, you know, maybe you won't romanticize it so much. Realistic baby toys so that people decide to not get accidentally pregnant. Exactly. That's a good idea. I don't know, Klein, if you're still ripping, but there's a new carrot being dangled for you to chase. a new Shohei Otani card that could be worth millions of dollars. Topps has released these new card packs.
Starting point is 01:43:58 It's the 2026 Chrome Packs. In one of the packs is a Shohei Otani back-to-back gold Logoman dual autograph card. It's a mouthful. That is great. It features two gold Logoman patches and two on-card autographs. The patches on the card are game-worn, and one of the patches was worn in a two-home run game last year. The second was when he homered and reached base three times, and that was earlier this year in April.
Starting point is 01:44:27 And the card is signed twice, once in English and once in his Kanji signature. Yeah, exactly. So they say that when this card is found, it will be worth millions, but you have to buy these Chrome Packs to find it. And by the way, those Chrome Packs, not cheap. They look expensive. I've been ripping a little bit, and you used to be like, all right, you know, you could find a good card. It used to be like in a $5 pack, you could find a good card. now if you want one of these, quote, packs of a chance
Starting point is 01:44:52 to find that card. Some of these packs are $50 packs, $100 packs. No kidding. Oh, yeah, dude. Oh, I thought they were more than that. And sometimes the packs have, like, three cards in them. Five cards in them. Oh, what I saw was, like, boxes. It looked like a box. Well, then that's it. You gotta buy the whole box of them. I mean, I'm just saying
Starting point is 01:45:08 for an... Oh, the little sleeves? If you want to get just a pack of cards, which you used to... In my head, I'm like, oh, you spend five, six bucks, you get a pack, there's 10, 20 cards in there. Some of these ones are good ones. If you want the access for this stuff, Now, you're paying. I was at a vending machine the other day, and I want to say that the pack started at $100 for the packs.
Starting point is 01:45:27 But you're guaranteed to get an autograph of someone, but it's usually some scrub. So this is basically like a very expensive lottery ticket. It is, of course. And people are hooked. But if you bought a $100 card pack, would you be able to make at least some money off of it? Probably not. So you would just be, wait, like, you don't know if it's going to be worth $100 or worth $50 or $300. A couple times at the card shop, they're really good at giving you this, like, not false hope, but you'll open it up, and they'll say, like, oh, hold on.
Starting point is 01:45:56 He'll go, let me see this. This could be, this one could be worth something. And then they'll, like, do the whole thing, and they go, nah, but I'd hold on to it, because if he has a couple of good years, maybe that price goes up. And you're like, goddammit, this is worth nothing. I remember the only card you ever gave me was a Jimmy Garoppolo card. Yep. And that guy was a real loser. Well, at the time, people thought he was going to go on to great things.
Starting point is 01:46:14 I know. It was. If he had had a couple of great seasons, then it would have been worth so much. I still have the card, though. The only card Allie ever gave me, minus that stupid Queen of Hearts, whatever that stupid thing was that everyone was into for a while. The NFT. The NFT that went nowhere. She got me a Joe Theismann card because she thought it was worth something because they named the Theismann Trophy after him.
Starting point is 01:46:35 Uh-huh. The Theismann Trophy. And I said, you dumb idiot, it's the Heismann Trophy. Did I get you that? Yeah, this guy's leg fell off in the middle of a football game and ended his career. Oh, that's something. Because he had a compound fracture, one of the most gruesome injuries in the history of NFL football. Well, it's a name I'd heard of.
Starting point is 01:46:54 So that means it's valuable. He goes, this guy's the guy they named the award after. It must be good. I go, that's the Heisman, you idiot. But thank you. I still have that card, by the way. See, you've got to hold on to it. You never know.
Starting point is 01:47:04 The value is under $1 currently. I've checked it recently. We get into a brand new hour of the show in moments. This is the world famous K-Rock. Oh, yeah. Welcome to your weekend. Let's just walk down to the K-Rock wing of the building. Mr. Suave Agave, come on in here.
Starting point is 01:47:19 He's made some, I guess today's Tequila Day. I didn't know that, Allie. It's National Tequila Day. Hey, there he is, Suave Agave, the man. The man, the myth, the legend. He made Allie a virgin one because she's all pregnant. I'll take Allie's booze and mine. Thanks, buddy.
Starting point is 01:47:33 Are you sure? Wait a minute. Suave. Are you sure you got the right ones? Oh, yeah, mine smells like it's got booze in it. Suave Agave. Positive this doesn't have alcohol in it. It's only Pellegrino.
Starting point is 01:47:43 Your mic's on. Talk on the mic. What did you make, Allie? So I'm making Palomas. So, yeah, Palomas is the national drink for Mexico. So, that one, but that's a virgin. It's only Pellegrino grapefruit and lime juice, and with a little tip. Oh, man, that's nice right there.
Starting point is 01:47:56 A little refreshing. That is refreshing. I don't think I'd be drinking this hour. What happened? You got invited to come into our, you're cheating on us with another radio station? A little cheating, yeah. I hope you guys weren't going to say I was trying to creep over to the side, but I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 01:48:06 Yeah, KNX got me over there, but I wanted to bring you guys a drink, and I got some tequila for you guys as well. We'll never be mad at you. You get it. Yeah, you get it. Yeah, you're always welcome here. Open door policy for Mr. Suave Agave. It's National Tequila Day. You got to enjoy it, right?
Starting point is 01:48:18 That's right. And also a bunch of people over there have drinking problems, so they need you more than we do. Oh, yeah. I see the news crew getting wasted. Nice, guys. Suave Agave, on a day like today, do you get high on your own supply? How much are you?
Starting point is 01:48:29 Okay. Oh, yeah. You better believe me. You're looking him in the eyes right now. He looks all glazed. He's a little hazy, right? Yeah, actually, yeah. It's all right.
Starting point is 01:48:34 It feels like 9 p.m. It's really 9 a.m. Yeah, I know. You pace yourself all day. I think the hardest thing. Or with tequilas. What an unexpected surprise for us all. Yeah, me.
Starting point is 01:48:43 Yeah, I think the hardest thing is just looking at the wall of tequila and saying, what do I want to drink today? Like, what am I vibing today? Well, and a lot of people say don't mix alcohols, but mixing different tequilas, you're fine. You're not going to get more hungover, right? No. Well, if you're going to go to some bad tequila versus good tequila, but yeah, keep it all in the same family with some good additive-free tequila. You can't go wrong, man. I love seeing a friendly face in the halls here.
Starting point is 01:49:06 Most people don't like us, or at least me. They don't like when I walk through the halls. But to see Suave Agave all smiley with drinks in his hands. I know. It puts everyone in a better mood in the office. Warm the cockles of my heart. Thank you, Suave Agave. Happy Tequila Day to you, by the way.
Starting point is 01:49:19 Thank you. To you, to all of you. To all the kind people on the radio. Enjoy National Tequila Day. And Suave Agave, when we do decide officially when we will be having our backyard banger, you will be there to provide. We're going to have a keg there, but you're also allowed to come and make drinks too. If you want some tequila for that backyard banger, I could bring some plenty of tequila for you guys to enjoy as well.
Starting point is 01:49:41 So just let me know. I think I've officially made the shift, Allie, in my drinking ways from vodka into tequila now. Really? Good for you. Are you doing mezcal too or just tequila? No, tequilas. But I think that what I've learned is that, A, I think it is giving me less of a hangover. And believe it or not, I think it's the healthiest.
Starting point is 01:49:58 If you're going to get really drunk, I believe that tequila is the healthiest way to get drunk. Absolutely. Yeah. It's very clean. Like I said, there's only three ingredients, water, agave, yeast. The one that you're drinking right now is tequila cabal, so it's very additive-free. It's clean as all heck. And, yeah, there's only 90 calories per 1.5 ounces of tequila.
Starting point is 01:50:17 Whoa, really? I don't care about organic anything. I don't buy organic food or whatever. My wife cares about that, but usually I just buy organic stickers and put it on stuff so it looks organic. But tequila, when you actually drink the stuff you say, the additive-free tequila, there's not a lot of hangover at all. And I thought, remember the time I thought it was because I ate all that cheese? Remember the time I got hammered? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:37 I think I was just drinking good tequila, and I woke up feeling fine. It was wild. Well, and I think that tequila is the happiest drunk. Oh, yeah. Well, it can shift, but. I guess you'll find that line. Yeah, yeah, you'll find that line. We'll find it.
Starting point is 01:50:47 Four shots and we'll figure it out. All right, well, thank you. Suave, what a treat to have you come by today. Hey, we should mention that next week is the beginning of Park Week, Allie. Yeah. This is where we try to solve one of the worst issues to happen in Southern California. that is all the terrible parkers that park for so many different bad ways. I mean, over the lines, take up two spots.
Starting point is 01:51:05 Oh, and we see them every day. So we will be asking you starting this weekend to start collecting some of the bad parkers you encounter and get them to us. We have a big prize pack, as we did last year. So once again, now you are our deputies, and please start to get us your pictures and videos as we document some of the terrible parking jobs happening all over Southern California. The return of Park Week is next week on KROQ. But today, we drink tequila and celebrate.
Starting point is 01:51:31 Hey, Rog, we are Klein Alley Show. You know, a lot of building malls are dead. Malls have been dying. A lot of malls are reopening now as other things are trying to figure out ways to turn them into, like, apartment complexes, condos. I was at a mall yesterday in Glendale, and the Galleria, the place was packed, like, beyond packed. And I think I know why. I think I know why malls are making the comeback now. And it's not because nostalgia is big.
Starting point is 01:51:54 I think that, you know, people like to say nostalgia is big and everything. One of the few places left with free parking. Yeah, that is true. The malls, you can still, they're annoying, but it is free. And I think air conditioning helps. It's hot outside, so people are just trying to go inside. The amount of samples, food samples that were happening. I'm not just talking food court.
Starting point is 01:52:13 I know you're thinking, oh, always Orange Chicken and Panda Express. We can all count on that. The amount of places that were giving out food samples. Every Wetzel's Pretzels you walk by, and I would say on any given mall, there's an average of five Wetzel's Pretzels. You can't have enough of them. Yeah, around every corner there is a Wetzel's. But there's like chocolate shops that are, and I'm just talking about C, everyone knows
Starting point is 01:52:32 about C's, you go in there for your free piece of chocolate. I feel like you have to work for it though there. You don't have to, sometimes you pretend like you're looking at other stuff, but sometimes now they just, they don't even need the charade, you can just say, give me, I'm here for the freebie, let's get out of here. There's another chocolate place, it's got these like sheets of, I don't even know how to describe it, it's like walls of chocolate they make, and you can, and they weigh it, you buy it by the way, but if you just want to try, they'll let you try anything.
Starting point is 01:52:55 You could eat at the mall, I think, for weeks without needing to spend a dollar. Do you think the mall sample game is better than the Costco samples? Really? I do. I think malls... You think they have the best sample game out there? I think this is bringing people back to the malls. It's the sample.
Starting point is 01:53:12 It's the samples that are happening at all of the food places that are popping up. I don't think there's one place I walked by yesterday that did not have someone standing outside. And I get it. They want to get you in. And so you get a sample, then maybe you go buy the whole thing. I didn't buy the whole thing. They didn't get me. Well, I think the mall lends itself to such a great wandering culture.
Starting point is 01:53:32 People just kind of like to wander around the mall, and I think that was the charm of it at first. And it smells. Yeah, but you kind of like the— Cinnabon. You're going to wander into a store maybe, and if there's a sample— Frosting samples. —that can get you in the door, then— Cinnabon had frosting samples.
Starting point is 01:53:46 Just frosting? Frosting samples. Try the frosting, they said. Whoa. I had to pretend I'd never had it before. Oh, what is this? That's awesome. What is this you speak of?
Starting point is 01:53:55 Did you do that as well for all of the Wetzel's pretzel samples? Yeah, and I had a lot. Oh, well, I can taste the pretzel. What is this, a salt hair? Okay. Picking that up. They don't care. And you can probably go back to those same places and put it over again.
Starting point is 01:54:11 They don't care. They don't care. I don't know if malls got to, or at least this mall maybe, but I feel like if malls are trying to survive, this is the move. Just do more of these samples things. Yeah, I know, but you can only do that for so long, because look at Krispy Kreme, right? I mean, they're giving away stuff for free all the time.
Starting point is 01:54:27 And I feel like over a lot of time, if they just continue doing that, they're not going to make as much money. But Krispy Kreme, you know what you're getting into. So it's like, there's no surprise. Here, I'm making a left turn. All of a sudden, I'm walking by an Apple store or a Brooks Brothers or something.
Starting point is 01:54:41 And then, boom. Would you like a sample of iPhones? Not there. They don't have samples there, sadly. But like, you walk right by it. Would you like one AirPod? Random flatbread place. It's like try our flatbread fresh out the oven.
Starting point is 01:54:54 Great. Don't mind if I do. This is kind of like the whole drug dealer mentality. It is. You get a little taste, and then you're going to go back, obviously, by the way you're talking. It is smart the way they do it. And yesterday, they didn't get me. I was proud yesterday I was able to leave there and say I didn't buy a Wetzel.
Starting point is 01:55:08 And I have, listen, Wetzel's pretzels have gotten enough of my money over the years. So I feel like I'm owed a few. Sad statement. I feel like I'm owed a few samples from all of the. Do you think that they weren't giving samples and then there was word out that you were arriving at the mall? No, because I'll say this. The client's coming. The Wetzel's pretzels.
Starting point is 01:55:28 Fire up the Wetzel's. You can tell you're getting kind of like the cut up of the read. Not everything turns out great there. See, I'm surprised that you like samples as much as you do because I feel like you would have a lot of questions about how they're being prepared, who's touched them before you. Yeah, they wear a lot of gloves. How long have they worn that glove? There are a lot of gloves being worn. I do appreciate the glove game and the sample.
Starting point is 01:55:48 business. They take it seriously. Costco's a little extreme. The people wear, like, the full hazmat mask when they give you a... And they've got the big hairnet thing. Yeah, like, hairnet over the beard and stuff. Like, what are you hiding back there? That part's a little much sometimes. But, I mean, if you think back to the beginning of the mall days, it was kind of sample
Starting point is 01:56:04 related, even with those kiosks. It was like, let me curl your hair. Right. Let me give you some perfume. That was happening, too, by the way. Yeah, it was all like, let me just give you... And then at the makeup store, they're like, I'll give you a makeover. I'll do half your face. and then the other half used to pay for it.
Starting point is 01:56:18 like them cleaning your sunglasses and your shoes. Cleaning the shoe. Omar, the guy cleaned half my shoe for free. Did he say that to Ali?
Starting point is 01:56:25 Half a clean shoe. You had a shoe shine? That's right. What's in a shoe shine? But he said, hey, I want to show you. What kind of shoes
Starting point is 01:56:32 were you wearing at the mall? Sneakers. So that's the scam. And he shined your sneakers? I never fell for it. So they only cleaned half of it and then you're like,
Starting point is 01:56:38 uh, I guess I got to pay for the other half. Yeah, he said, come here for a second. Did you just do one shoe or did he have to pay for the other shoe, too?
Starting point is 01:56:44 He just did half of one shoe. Oh, he didn't even do the whole shoe? No, half. I should have worn them in today. It's a crazy difference. Really? And then the guy said, hey, if you want the other shoes to look like this,
Starting point is 01:56:52 you've got to buy this thing. I said, I'm good. I'm just... And I walked around. Well, what is the thing? I want it. It's a spray. It's a shoe spray thing.
Starting point is 01:56:59 It's a shoe cleaning kit. Well, there's the spray, and then you try to upsell me to the kit. Yeah, but that stuff also doesn't work nearly as well when you bring it home. But if I walk back there four more times, I will get all of my shoes. You think he'll go, hold on a minute.
Starting point is 01:57:12 I've cleaned this half of the shoe before. No, go to the other shoe. Go to the other half. Yeah, but then you still have to get the other half of the other shoe. It's going to be pretty obvious that one half is super clean. Hi, I just need you to do my back left heel. I want to see it. You did the rest.
Starting point is 01:57:26 Yeah, well, I'll go to Wetzel's. I'll cleanse my palate and I'll go back there for the shoe clean. Just saying, guys. I think malls are having a comeback now. Eventually, you'll get a meal and a shoe shop. Oh, man, totally worth it, guys. If you are waiting around to answer some questions about today's show, to win your way into the Ocean Way Festival that is happening in Santa Monica,
Starting point is 01:57:43 you have to wait a little bit longer. That will be happening in about 10 minutes. So hopefully you've been paying close attention to everything that happened today on the show so that you can answer some questions and we can give you some tickets. If not, just win them from Sluggo and everyone else on KROQ throughout the rest of the day. This is an interesting message, waiting on the GOAT line. It's always there for you, for your comments, critiques, and criticisms, and questions if you're a new listener and need to understand what the hell is going on.
Starting point is 01:58:04 That number is 844-956-GOAT. I think that Jake has more red than Johnny or anybody else on the show. This guy is dagging Topanga hot moms and pervasions. So this guy is impressed that hot moms? No, the other one that he said, which I'm not going to repeat. Which term? I'm not going to say it. He says it.
Starting point is 01:58:33 Jake is, this guy who left the message is Asian, so he can say Burb-Asian, a Burbank Asian. Yeah, you know who can't say it? You. Right, well, I'm saying what he said. You made it up. He doesn't even try. That's the thing, guys.
Starting point is 01:58:46 He stinks. He lives in a shack. He has no class, no money. He's kind of a weirdo, but he's bashing all these girls. I mean, there is something to be said for what's happening with Jake right now, and I give Allie and Vanessa a lot of credit because they revamped. No, Jake won't. I'm glad you will.
Starting point is 01:59:02 They revamped his entire dating profile, and now he's been on, I believe, a three-night tear. Which, a little thirsty that he's planned out three first dates in one week. I think he's planned out more than that. I think a few of them had to cancel, but Jake is making up for lost time. The guy couldn't get a match to save his life until Ali and Vanessa took over his dating profile, and now he's going out every night this week. In fact, we're going to listen to a brand-new exit interview he did with a new date in a moment. Jesse, you leave him alone.
Starting point is 01:59:31 Stop making fun of Jake. He's the Riz Master. So this guy says you are the new Riz Master of the show because despite the fact that you are broke and stink and live in a shack, you have no problem getting all these women. Women crave authenticity. So here is Jake. He went out with this woman.
Starting point is 01:59:48 This is exactly Jake's type. She's Asian. She lives in Burbank, hence why she was referred to as a Burbasian, a new term. By who? You? It doesn't matter. it's the term there's nothing wrong with the term in fact jake asked her if there's anything wrong with the term and she gives us her opinion about it but uh here is uh how that date supposedly went on a scale of one to ten how would you rate the date i'm gonna say ten that's an excellent i mean
Starting point is 02:00:14 it's unbelievable my mind is blown my mind is blown at how low the bar is that's the part that's crazy and i feel bad for women and gay men out there i guess but mostly women that they have to deal with such terrible douches on a regular basis that Jake gets a 10. Best case scenario, Jake's a 4. Best case. Jake, did you take her, this person, to the same bar that you took the other girl to?
Starting point is 02:00:36 Better believe it. Oh my God. And by the way, Ellie, I think you wore the exact same thing also. You did? I didn't wear a hat this time. I dressed up. No, but you wore the same jean shorts from the first date and all the one that the girl gave you a one on. The first exit interview, the woman gave you a one on your outfit. Yes. And you wore the same outfit again
Starting point is 02:00:52 No, I dressed up. I didn't wear a tank top and I didn't wear a hat. I had a normal shirt. How long was this date? A little over an hour, hour and a half. Oh, that seems short. See, that's why I think these girls are getting bamboozled into saying that they're tense. If you spend any amount of time
Starting point is 02:01:09 with Jake that's over two hours, you will get to know the real Jake. We ended up spending more than two hours together. I don't know. It's like the meanest thing on the world's ever side. I don't disagree with it. We've reached that two hour mark too many times. Yeah, we reached it two hours ago this morning.
Starting point is 02:01:23 Oh, yeah. So because you think that Jake is one of those guys that can come across as great in a one-hour. Absolutely. But what do you think people like about Jake initially with personality? I think it's the zero Fs given. Like, he does care. Obviously, he's got a lot of insecurities and stuff. But when you see him, you think to yourself, this guy didn't, even though he is real thirsty for these dates,
Starting point is 02:01:49 You go, this guy did not try at all. And I think that even though that should be a turn-off, I think some weird way that's a turn-on for some women. That's what I'm saying. And it's a little interesting, but it's going to get old quick. Right. When you realize on date six he's wearing the same shirt. Right.
Starting point is 02:02:04 And then, Jake, what do you guys talk about? Just all sorts of stuff. You know, what you do for a living, you know, just your experiences. So just general first date things? You're not getting into, like, deep conversations, nothing different there than the norm? Sometimes we get into, like, deep conversations about just experiences in life and stuff.
Starting point is 02:02:19 Is she a listener to the show at all? Does she know the show? She does now. Okay. But she didn't before. She did not know. Hey, at least we're converting listeners. Did she know K-Rock is a thing?
Starting point is 02:02:29 Yeah, yeah. She's lived in, I think, Burbank her whole life, yeah. Okay, so she knew K-Rock. And when you say you're in radio and you're going to interview these people, does it kind of, do they feel trivialized at all, you know, that you're doing this for your job? No, actually, so far, they get a big kick out of it.
Starting point is 02:02:45 Wow. This woman seemed like she was excited. Well, here's her giving a review of the date overall and then Jake's outfit and smell. Really? Yeah, very excellent. How would you rate the place we met? Now, a lot of the answers she asked do result in her laughing at him. I like that.
Starting point is 02:03:04 And he takes that as a good thing. Because you like making a girl laugh even if it's at you? Yeah. Right. You can't get laughs at a comedy club, so you've got to get somewhere. That's what I'm saying. Right. You can do an exit interview with your audience.
Starting point is 02:03:16 They've all already exited. It's been interesting. Oh, no. I don't think Jake hears what she's saying. She laughs and goes, it's been interesting, which means she hates it. That's terrible. Yeah, but the last date that he took there, she actually really enjoyed the location. Because she was a Dodgers fan and there was a Dodgers game on.
Starting point is 02:03:33 So Jake was able to use the Dodgers game as like his wingman. This particular case, was there a game on or no? I don't know if there was a Dodgers game because we actually spent most of the time outside the bar on their patio because it was super loud that day. She's trying to run into oncoming traffic. Let's get closer to the cars, shall we? She's dragging the table. Let me sit at a table for two with this double yellow line, baby. Not what I'm used to, but your dog just made everything amazing.
Starting point is 02:04:05 Now, I would say, no, it's solid. Take ten. She's trying to convince herself. She said ten. Now she's trying to back it up, but she couldn't really back it up. Here she goes on to Jake's outfit. Ten. Okay.
Starting point is 02:04:18 Wow. How would you rank my outfit? Now, keep in mind, on his last exit interview, the woman gave him a one out of ten on his outfit. One. And he asked her twice, and both times she said one. Your outfit is very, I mean, it was hot. You have shorts on. I haven't really been with a lot of people with shorts on.
Starting point is 02:04:38 And Jake, you're taking this as positive still. Yeah, man. Ow. It's a ballsy choice. She's lying. Of course. Are you kidding me? Thank you, voice of reason.
Starting point is 02:04:48 Well, it's hot. It's hot. You have shorts on. I haven't really been out with a lot. That's a reasonable thing. It's 90 goddamn degrees. I haven't been out with a lot of guys with shorts on. I mean, she's saying.
Starting point is 02:04:57 Vanessa, does it sound like she was having a good time? I just feel like she fell out bad and she wasn't honest. It's so obvious. I've been with a lot of people with shorts on. But as long as you're comfortable, which I feel like you are, I'm happy. As long as you're comfortable. Which you clearly are. the fact that you think once again jake said i'll do another home run date and i'm hearing
Starting point is 02:05:21 these answers it doesn't sound like that but so so jake follows up with this uh quick so when you say i haven't been with a lot of people with shorts on what's that mean i think usually um i think i just go on dates with a little like more formality but i had a lot of fun so you go on dates more formality what are you wearing now this is where jake starts to get aggressive And look, she wasn't dressed formally. Yeah, so Jake turns it on. He's wearing shorts. What are you wearing now that's so special?
Starting point is 02:05:55 You go on, Jace, more formality. What are you wearing? I am wearing a dress, like a summer dress, because it was really hot. Okay. Do you like it? Yeah, I like it a lot. But it's casual, right? It's pretty casual.
Starting point is 02:06:08 So I'm casual and comfortable. No, I have nothing against you. Oh, my God. This is like... They're already arguing. They're having their first fight. So anyway, they go into This is the final thing about smell
Starting point is 02:06:18 It sounds like you have something to get short Not at all How would you rank my smell? I haven't smelled you There it is You said the word in the question Answers in the question are ranked And your dog smells very pleasant
Starting point is 02:06:34 I can't smell you, I just smell your dog She says That's another lie, right? Jake claims Jake, you claim that after all of this, after this whole thing we heard, you then convinced her, or she chose, or she wanted to go back to the shack. Yeah, I think I asked her if she wanted to continue, and she says yes. Jake is the new love shack baby. He's created this love shack now.
Starting point is 02:06:56 Wow. And she went to the shack, and you guys got intimate. A little bit. And when you tell the ladies that, hey, you want to go to my place, are you up front that it's a shack? That's what I say, it's a shack. You say, do you want to go back to my shack? My shack, yeah. And they must think it's a joke until they get there.
Starting point is 02:07:11 Right. How much of this is, you know what, I just want to see where this night ends. I'm just going to see what's going on. Authenticity. I would think if I had a mansion, I would say to a woman, you want to go to my shack? And then the big funny thing would be it would be a mansion. Like in Jake's case. Albert, he'll get you a drink.
Starting point is 02:07:30 Yeah, come back to my mansion. So anyway, they get together and then Jake hits her with this question. Just to give it to me. Would you be offended if someone referred to you as a burbasion? So the term burbasion, which is... His inside Shaq voice is like... Yeah, I don't like your inside Shaq voice. Nothing inside the love door.
Starting point is 02:07:51 It's so weird. You can't look out the window because there is none. It's like as soon as you close the door, it's like, welcome. There's a doctor. No key. Yes. Absolutely. Julie, it's like, it's just like, it just sounds offensive, just based upon the sound.
Starting point is 02:08:11 Yeah. Yeah. Probation. Totally offended. Why do you keep saying it then, Jake? She said she's offended by it. It hit me now. Just punch that person in the face.
Starting point is 02:08:22 You want to punch me in the face? Don't do that. Did you drug her? Why does she sound like this, Jake? She's having a good time. Well, there you have it. Jake is continuing to wow us all with his day. What do you think, did she lose a bet?
Starting point is 02:08:34 She must have lost a bet. So what base did you get to with her? Just like, I don't know, first, second. And out of all the girls you dated this week, are you going to see any of them again? Yeah. All of them? Both of them? What? Yeah, yeah, both of them. You're telling me you got the second base. She felt you up?
Starting point is 02:08:52 Yeah, kind of, yeah. She felt you? Yep. Can't wear the shirt. All right. Cool. Now that that's over with. I'm not hungry. Let's get into the quiz.
Starting point is 02:09:07 If you've put up with us today, the very least we can do is reward you with tickets. And then we got your weekend anthem. Let me get the hell out of here with your takeaways. Call now. Prove you've been listening. 800-520-1067. Quiz next. All right.
Starting point is 02:09:19 I hope we got a winner right out of the gate so that we can wrap it up and get into the weekend. Now that we got the tequila flowing, thanks again to our buddy Suave Agave stopping by to hook us up with that on this National Tequila Day. Who knew we would have been celebrating all show long had we known. Stephen, listening since 7 a.m. this morning is the first one I'll go to. But if he cannot succeed and get three questions right about today's show, we will move up and down these phones. So Angela, George, Bob, Gentry, if that's your real name, we got a chance. Everyone, we got a chance to play the game until someone gets three in a row right. And then they are going to the Ocean Way Festival.
Starting point is 02:09:52 Stephen, good morning. Welcome to KROQ. Hi. Hi. How are you? Good. You take notes today? You're going to do this on memory? we're going to go badly on memory but give it a shot I like it but you've been listening to the entire show you claim
Starting point is 02:10:10 yeah here and there I'm working out too so I may have missed a couple things I'm glad you say working out because the first question in the Klein Alley show quiz is Alley embarrassed herself working out by injuring herself doing what
Starting point is 02:10:26 at the gym got me right on that one so um i'll say running in the treadmill oh wow that was a guess yep wow happens every once in a while you guess there you go yes and you're actually right ally fell off the treadmill while trying to hit the stop button because it stopped too quickly for her and that is a correct answer supposed to be a gradual stop we go to question number two right now, and all things that happened on today's show. But I don't know if you're going to be able to get to question
Starting point is 02:11:02 two, so let's go ahead and wish you the best. We talked to the K-Rock DJ by the name of Megan Holiday today who told us that she'll be out at the Vans Warped Tour this weekend giving away stuff signed by who? Stuff signed by who? Boy, you got me there. Sorry about that.
Starting point is 02:11:20 That's it. Your round comes to an end. No guess. Goodbye for you. Sorry. I'm amazed you got through the first question. First question was a lucky guess. We go on now. We say hi to Alexander, listening to K-Rock. Good morning, Alexander. We pick up with question number two.
Starting point is 02:11:35 It's the Klein Alley Show Quiz. Megan Holliday will be giving away stuff signed by who at Van's Warped Tour this weekend. Guys, these are great calls you've put together for this. I like the first two that you said. Out of the gate. Hi, Alexander. Go ahead. you sound great i cannot take him we're gonna say how's george now in whittier uh good morning
Starting point is 02:12:01 george did you guys go home for the weekend already hello is anyone back there johnny vanessa no i'm sorry they put themselves back on george george hi uh good morning uh question number one we're trying to give away these tickets now megan holiday will be giving away stuff this weekend Advanced Warped Tour signed by who? Tony Hawk. That is the correct first answer.
Starting point is 02:12:23 Clear as a bell. Love that. Crystal clear. We go to question number two. LeBron James announced two things on our show today. Name one of the two things he announced today
Starting point is 02:12:36 on the show. God damn it. I can tell that's Omar's trying to piss me off. That's such a terrible sound effect. Go ahead, George. What is one of the two things that LeBron announced on our show today?
Starting point is 02:12:53 Check my notes, but one of them is he's going to the 76ers. That's enough. Let's find out if you're right. I have decided that I will play next season with the Philadelphia 76ers. That is correct. I have also decided that Allie lost the DMV quiz. Okay, well, that's fine. We will accept that.
Starting point is 02:13:11 No, not true. George, you're getting two right. You get this next one right. Thank God. We can start the weekend. We can give you the tickets and we can move on with our lives. If not, we move to someone else on the phone. Question number three right now.
Starting point is 02:13:29 How many hours will Jake and or Ali spend in the DMV because of the quiz that they lost earlier today? It is the ultimate punishment having to go to the DMV and sit there and do nothing. And what is the total amount of hours that we decided the loser will be spending in the DMV? $5. God damn it. Well, it was four hours, and then he tied. So five, right? Well, we did have a discussion about rounding it up.
Starting point is 02:14:01 What discussion was that? Well, we said... Rounding it up to five? What kind of crap is that? Correct answer is four hours. I mean, he did say four. He said four and five. No, you guys are over.
Starting point is 02:14:15 I don't want to start over anymore. We don't have time to start over. George, hold on. George, congratulations. You're going, okay? Ocean Way 5. You're lucky that we're way late. All right, goodbye.
Starting point is 02:14:23 Enjoy the show. Everyone else, I'm so sorry. We have to wrap it up. We've got the weekend song. Quickly on the takeaways, Allie. Just do a few of them because we really do have to get out of here. Okay, 626, my takeaway is calf is for cows. 650, my takeaway is hold on to that Theismann card.
Starting point is 02:14:38 562, has anyone taught Vanessa how to measure time yet? No. 818, the stop button on a treadmill will make it stop. 818, rent's crazy. Oh, that's the joke. 213, Omar is a lame-o. 213, fog lights and low beams are not the same thing. 818, yield!
Starting point is 02:14:59 Yield! 213, my takeaway is a pedestrian is in the crosswalk and they're hot. Whistle. You gotta whistle, according to the DMV. What's your takeaway from today's show, Vanessa? Jake is converting listeners one date at a time. Love it. What is your takeaway there, Johnny?
Starting point is 02:15:15 No one hasn't squirt yet. No one hasn't squirt yet. What is your takeaway there, Jake? Get your collector's edition sack of slime Barbie. Yeah. Sack of slime Barbie available wherever you get your toys. Allie, you have a takeaway from today's show? My takeaway is there's such thing as a quarter shoe shine.
Starting point is 02:15:33 Quarter shoe shine. He's got to go to the ball four times, a full shoe shine. Omar, takeaway? I'm going to be a shoe shine. There it is. That's a good take. All right, here's your weekend song, guys. We'll do it next week.
