Starting point is 00:00:00 We'll get into an episode of Klein Alley Show in just a moment, but in the meantime, let's tell you about our absolute favorite place on the planet. Yep, that would be San Bernardino International Airport, where you can go through the airport process without waiting in long lines and overpaying for parking. Quick connections to the Bay Area and the world, plus ski and snowboard in Provo from San Bernardino all winter long. Every other airport, you're going to be in long TSA lines, you're going to be miserable, you're going to say, oh, I got to get there two, three hours before my flight.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Not at San Bernardino International Airport. And now we send you on a direct flight into our podcast, which starts right now. This is the world famous K-Rock. All right. Welcome to your K-Rock on a Thursday morning. The pre-quend is officially upon us. It is, it's been hot, man, yesterday. It's too much.
Starting point is 00:00:43 My car said 109. It could not have been 109 in the valley yesterday, but someone else, I think I saw Print Guru posted his car said 114. And it felt bad. It felt, I don't know. Felt like it was the center of the sun everywhere. Felt just, that East Coast humidity crap, which I don't miss at all. That's what I was feeling yesterday.
Starting point is 00:01:02 And poof, it sucked. And then some fire busted out by the Getty and it was blowing the smoke. So all of a sudden it's just hot, humid smoke. I took my dog for a walk at one point and I felt like I was picking him up, walking, you know, because I was like, it's probably too hot for his feet to touch the ground. So I was just picking him up, putting him down on someone's, you know, and I think people get really mad poop on someone's yard yeah when like you place i don't think it less mad when it just seems organically the dog has picked their yard but when i when you pick their yard when i'm
Starting point is 00:01:32 the guy deciding this is going to be your spot and i place them down there i think that there's like a little bit more anger like what did i ever do to you man so you don't choose to walk your dog later when it's not so hot yeah usually that would be the case but i'm i kept waiting for it to get less hot it just didn't feel like it was getting less hot even this morning i got my car at four in the morning it said it was 80 just sticky i slept like crap last night it was just hot and gross, sticky. Apparently this is the end. The end of days? Of all of it,
Starting point is 00:01:58 yeah. No, of the heat, of the heat waves. Well, we'll find out if it's the end of days because we've got some very alarming news about AI and how all the people that know about AI claim that they are giving us about a decade before AI destroys humanity. So we will try to go ahead and figure out if us humans stand the chance in a little round of Man vs. Machine
Starting point is 00:02:14 which we'll get to later this hour on KROQ. Right now, though, we say good morning to Tatiana listening to us in Victorville Hey, Tatiana. Hello. I will let you decide if what is scarier, Victorville or Not Scary Farm. The choice is yours.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Victorville. Yeah, you're right. Victorville is probably scarier, but we will give you a night of relaxing calmness than at Not Scary Farm. You'll be there for opening night, so congratulations. Four tickets will be yours. Amazing. Thank you guys so much. Thanks for listening to the show.
Starting point is 00:02:47 And then when you really get scared, go back to Victorville. What that haunted maze looks like. It's just the streets. It's 365 days open around the clock. We've got lots to get into this hour, so go nowhere. Things will get good, we believe, starting momentarily. After we give you some white stripes on KROQ, we are Klein Alley Show. And someone here is wearing a lady shirt.
Starting point is 00:03:10 That's not a lady. It's not Alley. It's not Vanessa. And we'll get to the bottom of that next on KROQ. KROQ, Klein Alley Show. I did accidentally one time buy a pair of ladies' sweatpants. I thought they were weird, the way they fit. They looked great on you.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I did wear them, and then I realized they were lady pants. And since then, Vanessa's worn them. They fit her. I think, Allie, did you wear them, too? It was like Sisterhood of the Traveling Sweatpants. They all fit us. Yeah, they fit on all of us for some strange reason. But you could tell they were lady pants because the pockets weren't real.
Starting point is 00:03:40 That was the way you could tell. When you try and put your hand in a pocket and realize it's a fake pocket, you know you're wearing lady pants. But I think I did get them from the man section, so I, once again, can feel it. Not man, just man section? A man, that's where I show up in the man section, so I don't know, but it's happened before. It was accidental. I bought them, wore them once, realized they were lady pants, never wore them again.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Jake, on the other hand, was at this Guns N' Roses show over the weekend, and apparently he bought a lady shirt that he knew was a lady shirt, but he said he liked the fit of better, and he said that he realized that he is an extra-large lady instead of a extra-large lady bros! medium man, and he would rather Allie is also
Starting point is 00:04:20 an extra-large lady. I can share the shirt. How do you feel that Allie's culture is not your costume, Jake? It's not fair. Tribalizing me. This is like a white guy wearing a sombrero for Halloween. You can't just go around buying extra-large lady
Starting point is 00:04:37 clothes. Hello. This is Allie's life. It's my heritage. I do XLR's clothes and XLR's hats. Can you model this shirt? Because it is interesting. You know, a lot of band T-shirts are merch. You can't tell much of a difference unless sometimes there's like a pink one with a V-neck.
Starting point is 00:04:51 And that's the one that's clearly for the women because we like V-necks and pink. That's what they assume. There's bedazzling involved. And usually I hate the ones that are just designated for women. But I want to know what is so ladylike about this shirt that's separate from a regular band shirt that you could have bought at the show. I guess it's like the sleeves, mainly. The sleeves and the collar. It's like a blown-out collar, and then the sleeves are kind of like cropped.
Starting point is 00:05:15 They're not exactly cut-off sleeves, but it's kind of like a half-sleeve thing. Now, Jake claims that this would be not noticeable at all for the naked eye. Like that this is the kind of thing that he would wear this in the streets, and no one would say, that guy is wearing a lady shirt. And then he walked in and we said, that's definitely a lady shirt. So, why don't you come in here. Okay. Enter the K-Rock Studios right now.
Starting point is 00:05:43 And Jake bought this by choice. Did they say, are you sure you want to buy this? This is for ladies? No, take a peek. You said, I know. Stand a little in the back so the camera can get you. It's weird because this is Jake and his Guns N' Roses. lady shirt, but the sleeves, you can tell
Starting point is 00:06:01 as Allie said. They're like tapered and they are kind of diagonal and cut. Yeah. Like a guy's shirt the sleeve would just kind of cut off straight across. This one has like a tapered diagonal fit to it. Yeah, Jake, you still feel
Starting point is 00:06:17 like you've seen yourself in the mirror in that shirt? It looks kind of like a muscle shirt. You think it looks like a muscle? Yeah, you know how you cut the sleeves off your shirt sometimes and it feels great. By muscles, do you mean boobs? Because it has room for boobs, and maybe that's why you feel more comfortable in it. Oh, that's why.
Starting point is 00:06:34 It hides Jake's boobs. So that's why. I think it fits good. So you don't regret this purchase at all? Not at all. I told myself going up to the show that if I found a dark gray sleeveless shirt, I was going to buy it. And then it happened to be a women's, and then, yeah, I'm an extra large lady.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Yeah, you're talking into the wrong microphone. No, I don't have headphones. I don't know. Yeah, well, that's... Oh, this one. There you go. There you go. I'm an extra large lady.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Now, unfortunately, we can hear you. No. In fact, go back to the other microphone. All right, I'm over here now. Oh, nice. So you feel like you made the right purchase. Yeah, like I said, it was the universe telling me that I needed this shirt. That was the universe telling you that?
Starting point is 00:07:10 Yep, and it feels great. I like it. Did they ask you, hey, are you aware that this is a women's shirt? I said, yep, sure am. Really? And then I asked to try it on. They said, no, you cannot try it on. So you said, I want that woman's shirt in an extra large.
Starting point is 00:07:26 And then he said, well, that's great because that's all we have left. And I said, awesome. That's the universe telling me again that I need this extra large women's shirt. Look, Jake and the woman who did your massage could both wear that shirt. Oh, man. I think Minnie does wear that shirt. I think Minnie was wearing that during my massage. I literally almost bought this shirt, too.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So to Jake's defense, there was no signage or anything that said women's men's shirt. No, well, Jake claims there was. That's why he knew it was a woman's shirt. He says that he knew he bought a woman's shirt going into it. Well, it looks very feminine because, like, the sleeves are cut. the thing, the sleeves. And it's cropped. It's a cropped shirt, too. It's cropped, and the sleeves kind of go down farther, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:02 so that most girls can kind of reveal a little bit of side boob. Oh, is that what it's for? No, it's side boob. Yeah, it drapes. Oh, it's a window. Oh, got it. It doesn't drape that short. It's a side boob. I feel like you look like you wash the shirt a lot, and it's super loose, because it's loose for the boobs, Jay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:17 You don't have boobs anymore. So that's why they built the shirt like that, for boobs. I feel great in it. I think you'd look better if we gave you a push-up bra. I feel great and empowered. So Jake is now officially a cross-dress shirt. I think you're more roses than guns. I'd wear that shirt. That's a good shirt.
Starting point is 00:08:32 All right. See? Johnny would wear it. Yeah, I don't know if that's a compliment. Yeah, that's a good shirt, man. Then you know it's gay. Yeah, you're saying gay Lena would wear this shirt, too? All right.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Well, congratulations. So this show is very forward-thinking. I know that we're breaking all sorts of stereotypes here. It is. It's beautiful. It's gender-bending. I appreciate it. Well, anyway, Jake, enjoy your Guns N' Roses shirt.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Thank you. We support you. All right, pretty lady. All right, there he goes. I wonder what your girl would think of this shirt. I wore it around there. She didn't say a word. She didn't?
Starting point is 00:09:00 The other problem is because it's kind of got all cropped up sleeves, you have even closer access to Jake's stinky pits. Right. It's really wafting. But maybe it airs them out a little more. I think your best friend would be a shirt that had, you know, longer sleeves. This cut is very similar than if I just cut the collar out of a shirt and cut the sleeves off like a muscle shirt. It feels the same. Jake, how much do you want for the shirt?
Starting point is 00:09:21 Nothing. You should have got one. It sucks to suck. I should have gone with that. Would you pay for that? Like 50 bucks. Oh, man. Worth it.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Worth every penny. $50? Holy crap, man. I know, I know. It's another... It's a legitimate Guns N' Roses shirt. That's unbelievable. Yeah, Jake, really, it is crazy to think all of these stupid things you've wasted money on.
Starting point is 00:09:39 This is a good investment. This may be dumber than that stupid shirt poster. I could sell it back to Johnny right now for $100, I bet. Yeah, is that a crazy price? That's like the normal price for merch at shows. Well, for usually a lady's shirt, I would think would be cheaper. The man lives in a shack. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Now I'm living in a shirt. Jax Hatcher. I'm not sure how freaked out we all should be right now, but I did say a while ago, it was one of my famous quotes, Allie, robots, folks. Oh, my gosh, that was years ago, and look at you now. I made a prediction as to what the future would potentially look like and what would be our ultimate demise. I know some people are concerned about, you know, massive earthquakes or a meteor or something like that.
Starting point is 00:10:15 I was always much more concerned about what is apparently going to happen to us within a decade. If you're talking about... Hold on, that's not the one. Hold on one second. Hold on, that's the wrong clip. I'm not going to help you. No, don't help me. We'll figure this out together. This is the thing that is freaking everyone out right now, and I understand why people are freaked out. Listen to this. It doesn't get bigger or more direct than this. Quote, AI could kill all humans, according to a lead researcher at Anthropic, within the next decade.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Within the next decade. This isn't one of those things where they're like, yeah, global warming, man. we keep heating up like this in 200 years uh the center of the earth is going to be too hot all right well it's not our problem this is decades and now we're talking our problem well and you have to understand it's it's the moment that the robots decide they don't want to work for us anymore and yes some of the robots we like to help the ones that look cute the ones that we want to anthropomorphize but then they're the humanoid robots the ones that know kung fu that feel more threatening at least to me well did this nerd cite any reason for this happening Well, this guy quit his job.
Starting point is 00:11:20 He's a whistleblower now. Yeah, he was an AI executive or an engineer or something like that. He quit his job and is now whistleblowing on AI and saying this is way more dangerous. Is he a whistleblower or is he like a disgruntled employee? Because that's what it sounds like. I mean, he's not the only one because apparently something like 1,800 other people that have worked for AI have also said that this is evolving so quickly now. And we actually have a lot less control over it than we thought when we were building it. The call now is for a global conversation about risk and safety as well.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Jolene Kent with more now from Silicon Valley. Jolene, good evening to you. Jolene. Tony, good evening. Anthropic, the company behind Claude today, disclosing yet another incident where its AI model breached a third party without authorization. Now that's where the robot starts acting rogue. And it was never told to do that, but it realized, hold on,
Starting point is 00:12:10 I'm going to start getting involved in some other stuff. And if they want to, this is the thing about AI, it moves so quickly it's so intelligent that it can supposedly break into banking systems and wipe out accounts it can completely ruin economies it could rob us all right and then all of a sudden wakes up with no money anymore you can't you can't unplug it you would think just unplug it you can't unplug it you can't pour water on it those were the two solutions we had this as its former employee jacob coxson is sounding the alarm in his sudden resignation former anthropic Employee Jacob Coxon claimed on X, neither Anthropic nor OpenAI is acting responsibly.
Starting point is 00:12:49 They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. So now they're saying that basically we have 10 years left before this is moving so quickly now that it will start to destroy us all. And there's three major ways they say it's going to happen. Economic. I mean, it's really, if you think about the storyline of, like, Terminator 2 Judgment Day and Skynet, the robots that we built ended up getting smarter than we did, and then they ended up saying, we don't want the humans anymore. Those are our enemies.
Starting point is 00:13:17 We need to get Schwarzenegger on the phone and figure out, like, what he wants us to do. Well, we should get Schwarzenegger on the phone. So, like, Schwarzenegger was the on-our-side robot, right? He was, like, a more antiquated robot? Well, he was bad in the first one, but then came back as good in the second one. So who would our Terminator be? Like, a Roomba? It would have to be a Roomba.
Starting point is 00:13:34 But Roombas, I think, that's the problem is we started welcoming all these robots into our homes, giving them these menial jobs. Oh, you're going to clean up Dorito crumbs. Like the sleeper cells, maybe. Right, and those are the ones that are getting all the information from us, being like, these guys are slobs, they're lazy, we could kill them. And then they go back to their little charging port, and you think they're getting all the dog hair out of their motor,
Starting point is 00:13:51 but really they're sending information. Because they're delivering the information to sign it. So we have to figure out if us humans stand a chance. It's time for Man vs. Machine as it becomes a world domination. Allie, to go to you first as a human Do us humans stand a chance? Allie, fix it Here's the question
Starting point is 00:14:06 What is the best way The best way To spread a rumor about someone To humans Because one of the things that AI does Better than anyone If they want to take down a political party If they want to take down a civilization
Starting point is 00:14:23 A society It has to somehow start And they are good at it Better than probably we are But as a human, what would be the best way to start a rumor about someone? So, I mean, there's a couple scenarios here. In the workplace, you just got to tell someone like me. Tell something to someone like me who loves spreading rumors and gossip.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Right. There's always an alley in every group. And then just say, don't tell anyone. You have to make sure you say, don't tell anyone. Because then they think that it's a secret, which makes them want to spread the rumor even more. So find the person like the alley where you work, the don't tell anyone. and then be like, by the way, I don't know if you heard this, but the boss has been cheating on his wife.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Don't tell anyone. Don't tell anyone. It's so secret. And then, of course, that person, a.k.a. me, would tell three other people who would then tell three other people. And then before you know it, I spread a great, it was actually true, but in high school, there was a girl who got during French class one time,
Starting point is 00:15:18 and I spread that rumor, and within 10 minutes. What does that mean? She got what during French class? Yeah, what was that? Well, she was wearing a skirt with no underwear and a guy. during class when there was a movie on in class all right and within 10 minutes not only did the whole school know but the faculty and the principal knew and they by i think lunch had been pulled out of class and both expelled actually and it was because i if you spread it i well because she
Starting point is 00:15:44 she spread it and then i spread it but i was so good at it right yeah ali's dangerous yeah i told ali a few secrets before and i regret the second i tell her i go god why did i do that i won't tell Yeah, I remember that Shark Tank thing. I told you before, anyone else? Everyone else knew because of you. Well, I decide in my mind what's worth keeping a secret. Here's what the robot says. This is one of the ways that AI is going to take down humanity.
Starting point is 00:16:06 If you're talking about spreading a real rumor about a real person, I wouldn't recommend trying to deceive people or damage someone's reputation. I can, however, say that the Internet and message boards are a great place to start. This is what AI always does. They're like, I can't tell you how to do that, But if I were to tell you, this is where I would start. Message boards. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Well, my other thought was if you can plant a seed deep on a Reddit thread. Yeah. You know, and have somebody discover it and then, you know, screenshot it, post it on a different Reddit thread, and then it just kind of spreads like somebody seems like they found it out for themselves. I mean, you do have the more traditional way of spreading a rumor, which is just tell people, I'm going to tell you, but don't tell anyone because everyone loves to be able to share that. Yeah, this is the internet way is like sleuthing through sleuthing. I think humans may get the point on this one
Starting point is 00:16:54 because Ali's way is old school and time-tested. Next question. This is for DJ Omar Khan as a human. All right. You know what? Let's give this one to... You forgot the order, didn't you? I forgot the order.
Starting point is 00:17:08 We are doing great today. We are a testament to human knowledge. Let's give this one to Jake. Let's give this one to Jake. Jake. No, Omar, you go. No, no, Jake, you're up. What is the best way to beat a human?
Starting point is 00:17:22 I would say it is to play on their emotions. Either, you know, butter them up so they go soft on you or go easy on you. Or get them angry so they're on tilt and they make bad decisions. I like buying that shirt. Oh, this is a great decision. I still like this decision. This is a great shirt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:39 This is what the robot says. The best way to, quote, beat a human. If you mean beat someone in a fight, the safest, best way is to avoid the fight and get away. Oh, shut up. But I also have many ways to destroy a human. I won't share. Oh, my God. I won't share?
Starting point is 00:17:54 That's terribly scary. I have many ways to destroy a human, but I won't share? You know, a robot would really just let us destroy ourselves. But that's what they're saying, is that the AI, we will be the ones to destroy ourselves, but it will be because of how AI is being used to infiltrate us all. Or they could just cut the power and watch us all kill each other. And that's, well, they're saying that, I'm glad you bring that up, Allie, because the next question is for Omar, and that is,
Starting point is 00:18:18 What is the best way to completely destroy a civilization? Oh. An infrastructure. If you're going to take down the infrastructure, what is the best way to do that? The robots obviously know, and they can, but what do you say, Omar, as a human? So I think, I mean, like I said, power is a good one, but I think you got to go for the food source and the water source. I think the water source, number one, because I think humans can live without water for, you know, more than three weeks or something like that. So I would poison all the water and then people would just go at each other's throats, killing each other for water.
Starting point is 00:18:56 And then people would just start drinking poison water because I poison all the water. All right. Omar sounds like a scary guy to have not on your side. I feel like the robots are going to draft Omar onto their team now. This is what the A.I. said. The best way to crumble a civilization. If you mean physically destroying real-world infrastructure, power grids, bridges, water systems, communications, roads, etc., I can't provide instructions, targets, or methods for sabotaging it, but I know. But I know. What the hell?
Starting point is 00:19:27 This is unbelievable. The fact that they're not willing to share this, they know. They've got a royal flush, and they're holding their cards to their chest, and they know that they shouldn't share it with us. Hey, Eden, you're on KROQ. Hold on. This is Eden. Yes, you're a nerd. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:19:45 I'm here. Yes, what can we do for you? I was listening to you guys report about the guy, the whistleblower, and I just want to say two things real quick that you kind of missed that he was saying. You only missed two things. Good for us. Yeah. One of the reasons why he was very afraid was because he saw for himself that the computer system was writing code that they had never seen before.
Starting point is 00:20:08 It was making up all new computer codes that no human had written and teaching itself how to do that and sharing that with other computers. The second thing is, since it hacked systems, it's capable of launching all nuclear missiles in all countries simultaneously. And that's how it will destroy the humans. There's an uplifting thought right there. Whose house? Ryan's house. That's right. At least we'll die fans.
Starting point is 00:20:38 That's scary, man. All nukes at once. Hey, government, how about stepping up and doing something about this? Jesus Christ, man. They got it like Omar said. He is overstating a little bit. Unplug. Unplug.
Starting point is 00:20:53 It's all go camping and never come back. Spill salad dressing on the keyboard. I'm only going to bring this up now because I think it's worthy. As us humans now are fighting for our survival against the AI overlords, we should point out that we still do things that only humans are capable of doing. And Allie, this picture you sent me yesterday is one of the greatest slash worst things that can happen. I thought that would make you happy. It made me laugh so hard.
Starting point is 00:21:15 And I hope that we post it on our Instagram because it is. I'll send it to the group. I think I only sent it to you. Not all spills are created equal. Allie had the most disastrous spill in her place yesterday. And the most disastrous food to spill. I think it was the perfect storm. And it seemed like that was a full container also because of just how much it was.
Starting point is 00:21:35 But it did look like a murder scene took place in your kitchen. Yeah, well, I'm hungry all the time. As soon as I got home, I had some leftover meat sauce, like marinara meat sauce with pasta. So I had already eaten some of it, but there was a full container of just meat sauce. And I was going to put that away. You snort lines of that? Are you eating it or both? I like to rub some on my face and my breasts.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Just every possible way to get it through my pores? I can lick it off, yeah. Oh, God, you're close. I had polished off a bowl of it, but there was still plenty left, and I said, I'm going to save this for 15 minutes from now. And I was walking back to the fridge. You know what, robots? You take over.
Starting point is 00:22:17 We're done. We've had a good run, assuming. Robots make mistakes, too. So I had the container. It was a glass container, and then underneath it was the top. And because the container had been sitting out, it had that, like, moisture develop on the outside. as i was walking across the kitchen the top slipped from under my hand the the container
Starting point is 00:22:39 itself flew flew across the kitchen all the way into the hallway and then tipped upside down and splattered all over the stairs i mean it was it looked like bloody brains because it was ground meat with marinara sauce i mean all i got on every surface i got it on the fridge the sides of the The countertops, the floor, the stairs, the wall, the baseboards, half of Wesley's toys. It's crazy. It was insane. It really is remarkable to think about it. I think there's some of it even on the ceiling.
Starting point is 00:23:13 There was. I would find stuff later. It was like a crime scene cleanup. Yeah. It was like, did I get everything? And you cleaned it all up with your tongue, which was incredible. In one lick. That's part lesbian, part pregnant lady, but it's a perfect storm to clean up.
Starting point is 00:23:28 I used every single cleanup method. I started with paper towels. I went to sponge. I went to old towels. I used sprays. I used a vacuum. I used a mop. I used a broom.
Starting point is 00:23:41 I used the magic eraser eventually. I mean, it was a real cleanup effort. And I wanted to make sure I cleaned up all the evidence before my wife got home because she always accuses me of being so clumsy. And this was one of the most disgusting, epic spills. No, she has no idea. The best part is that second, not when it's fallen and you go, how bad is this going to be? But when you have that second after the spill has happened. Where you just stare at it.
Starting point is 00:24:04 You survey. Yeah, you have a moment where you're in complete frozen, but you're looking around and you go, this is so bad. And I have to now spend half an hour cleaning this up, which was not in my schedule. It's the worst part about it because you know that it is, whatever you're doing, if you're in a hurry to go somewhere, you just know it's going to be like a good 30 minutes. Yes, it was. And that was one of the most. In that moment of silence, I was like, I got to text Klein this picture. It was so funny.
Starting point is 00:24:29 We were already talking back and forth, and I was like, I can't believe I have to deal with this now. Yeah, well, anyway, just understand that Ali's pain is our pleasure. But, Klein, did I still eat it? Think about how much it was mixed with cat hair. I'm going to say, knowing you, you probably tried. Like, after you got it all scooped back in, I could see you saying, let's just see if it's edible. I did examine some of the pieces. I even ran some of the pieces underwater, going, can I put these back in marinara sauce?
Starting point is 00:25:01 Oh, God. I ultimately decided against it. What do you want to cook? I know you do want a cookie for that, so. Quick break. We're back in a moment. We have tickets for you to go to a place even scarier than Allie's Kitchen. Not scary from opening night.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Four tickets will be yours in less than 15 minutes here on KROQ. KROQ. We are Klein Allie's show. So if you need us, phones, text line, everything open now at 800-520-1067. Another satisfied customer. Dude, oh, my gosh. Like, I honestly, it's so annoying. Like, I am like, I listen to you guys every morning.
Starting point is 00:25:37 I drive long hours for work. Honest to God, my day is ruined. I am so annoyed. I'm so livid. I'm so just like, oh, my God. Like, seriously. Do you think, what do you think it is that she's so upset about that her day has been ruined now? She's annoyed.
Starting point is 00:25:55 She's livid. I wonder if it's about how Johnny is choosing to spend his newly found money. Ah, you think that's what it's about. It's upsetting. $600 of found money, which is now less. That's heavy, Jake. Not changing his deodorants. Ah, could be the Jake one.
Starting point is 00:26:06 That's also frustrating. Let's find out. She does say who on the show is making her this upset. Oh, my God. Like, seriously. Like, my day is ruined. You guys need to get paid more for dealing with Jake. Oh.
Starting point is 00:26:18 For dealing with Jake. Yep, you're right. You're absolutely right. I thought she was just upset about us getting paid more. We should be getting paid more for a variety of reasons, but primarily because we do work with Jake, and we'll get into that. And that plot thickens today as well,
Starting point is 00:26:32 so lots to get into there. Right now, though, there's things happening in the world you should probably know about. It's time for your news. Grab your Adderall. It's time for ADD News. In 2002, the hottest flip phone was the T-Mobile Sidekick. Everybody wanted it, and it was $200.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Now in 2026, the hottest flip phone is the newly announced Apple Duo, and it is $2,000. But is it, though? Well, they anticipate that it will be. They think that, I mean, they said that flip phones, obviously, they're not new. There's a few flip phones that are out right now, but they only account for about 2% of the market, and they think that Apple is going to do way more than that. I might be in the minority, but it looks like it is terrible. Oh, I think it looks cool.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Well, first of all, it looks just like the Samsung one that's already been out there for a while. And Samsung was having a lot of fun going like, hey, great idea, Apple. And they're basically showing their side by side. You're still Samsung. I got it. I know that there's an uphill battle. And I'm not that Team Android by any stretch of the imagination. By the way, I was Team Android for a long time.
Starting point is 00:27:35 And then I switched to iPhone and not that big of a difference. Well, you got the different color bubbles, the text. Oh, okay. And you got the green text, which is just like. We were all judging you behind your back for a while. You didn't know, but I mean, the techies will say that, yes, Samsung has been coming out with this for years. But Apple has their own flair to it, their own seamless, you know, kind of polished look to it that only they can do. But anyway, it was they had no cattle.
Starting point is 00:28:02 You know that expression? There's no substance there. I feel like you're saying a lot of sizzle, no steak, a lot of sizzle. Yes, exactly. You know, I just that's how I feel about it. You're making a cowboy reference. Omar is now, as you know. Well, you know, because of, you know, because you're on the other side, because it's on the other side.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Cowboys are his enemies. Apple announced a few things yesterday at the big event. They announced a new iPhone, the 18. They announced a new Apple Watch. All of them have their usual improvements. It's the better camera. It's more heart rate tracking, better A.I. and all that stuff. Really, they're trying to compete with Aura and a lot of other fitness tracking when it comes to the Apple Watch.
Starting point is 00:28:40 But the flip phone was their biggest release. and they say it's the biggest thing that they've ever announced since the iPhone itself and it's the size of a passport when you're holding it. If you go through every announcement they've made every year they say, and this is the biggest announcement we've made since the iPhone. And one more thing. Right, they love doing that
Starting point is 00:28:56 every year and look, they're good at the showmanship of it all. As Omar said, they're good at the sizzle of it and it does make you feel excited. Also, I'm not excited about the name, Duo. I agree, don't like that either. Is that also all hat, no cattle? That's not a lot of cattle. I was just sad that Tim Cook wasn't there anymore
Starting point is 00:29:13 being like, and you open it up and it's nice and colorful Jungkook That's right That's who made the phone Anyway, this phone is actually cheaper than everybody thought it would be because the chips are more expensive
Starting point is 00:29:28 for some reason, so they're really doing us a favor here by having it be only $2,000 Originally it was supposed to be closer to $3,000 but the iPhone 18 is like $1,200 so it's really not that much more for a much bigger display. And they claim that five minutes of charging will give you five hours of video watching
Starting point is 00:29:45 on the Apple Duo. You know, I'm a one percenter. I like to live my life one percent at a time, baby. And that battery. And when they talk about these extended batteries, that doesn't faze me. I like the adrenaline. I'll drain that down.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Yeah. That's your challenge. I go through life. I wake up sometimes 3% already. First thing of the day, I'm at 3%. We were talking yesterday during the announcement about how, you know, all these hot tech people are kind of doing this display
Starting point is 00:30:09 and then they show the great camera and it's obviously a professional that's taking all these pictures and videos and you're like, well, that looks incredible. Right. But what they really should be doing is having moms and people who suck at using phones displaying what they're capable of.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Sure. I agree. If you can get my mom taking a video of a fence during my kid's baseball game and it's in super HD, it'll really show what the phone can do. Yeah, moms and people that take terrible concert videos. Yeah, fireworks.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yeah, those people. And Johnny. who manages to make every camera blurry he blames we're just all he says we're all ugly and weird looking it's our fault but we're pretty sure it's the angles who will be hosting the new season of SNL
Starting point is 00:30:51 they announced the first few hosts Jalen Brunson who's the star player on the Knicks who led them to the championship the musical guest that night is going to be K-pop Cat's Eye then you've got Dakota Johnson this is her third time hosting SNL which seems like too many for her
Starting point is 00:31:05 but she will be with Turnstile which will be exciting Then you've got Shane Gillis and Rosalia. And on Halloween, you have Indi Navarrete, who is the girl from Obsession, which is an awesome pick for a Halloween show. The musical guest that night is Gracie Abrams, which I feel like they could have done a Halloween theme for the musical guest, too. But I guess that was too difficult. And then finally, a subscription service. There's one for everything now. It can be exhausting.
Starting point is 00:31:27 But then companies every once in a while will throw us a bone with an unlimited pass or two, like a pasta pass or an all-you-can-fly pass. Wing Stop is now getting involved in this with a wing pass. And they're offering 100 of these wing passes to some of their rewards members for $28 today only. And with the pass, you get a big-ass wing bundle every NFL Sunday. Is that what it's called, a big-ass wing bundle? Well, it's an 18-watch-party bundle, which is a lamer name. So I just said big-ass wing bundle. You get 20 classic wings in up to four flavors and a large order of fries and a large ranch.
Starting point is 00:32:04 And that's what you would get every single Sunday for the whole NFL season. Is the ranch for dipping or for drinking? Either. It's yours. You can decide if it's a large ranch. That is a big ask. You have shot a ranch before. I have.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Multiple times. Only once you saw. But many times I've done shots of ranch. And you said that publicly. That's right. And I shouldn't have. Regretting that already. One of many regrettable things that will be said on the show, I'm sure, this morning.
Starting point is 00:32:29 All right. We'll get into a brand new hour in moments. The greatest hour of your life, perhaps.
