We'll get into an episode of Klein Alley Show in just a moment, but in the meantime,
let's tell you about our absolute favorite place on the planet.
Yep, that would be San Bernardino International Airport, where you can go through the airport
process without waiting in long lines and overpaying for parking.
Quick connections to the Bay Area and the world, plus ski and snowboard in Provo
from San Bernardino all winter long.
Every other airport, you're going to be in long TSA lines, you're going to be miserable,
you're going to say, oh, I got to get there two, three hours before my flight.
Not at San Bernardino International Airport.
And now we send you on a direct flight into our podcast, which starts right now.
This is the world famous K-Rock.
Good morning. Welcome to your K-Rock. We are Klein Alley Show.
You know, one of our buddies, I like to consider him a friend of ours, is a man by the name of Stu Mendel.
And he is up there in Sky Fox, has been for a long time. He's calling the chases.
He's our eye in the sky whenever things are happening.
And obviously, over the past 24 hours here, we've all heard about the really tragic situation
that happened with the chopper for Channel 4 that went down and multiple people lost
their lives, including, I guess, the NBC version of Stu.
Ellie in the heli.
Ellie on a marina.
I would even argue she had a better nickname than Stu.
And the whole situation is sad.
Terribly sad.
You know, I mean, for so many reasons.
And obviously, as Ali pointed out yesterday, you know, part of living in Southern California,
the soundtrack to us living here is the sounds of choppers constantly above head.
A lot of times those are LAPD birds.
Sometimes they're the news choppers.
As someone who lived right at the interchange between the 101 and 405 for a while,
that was my sweet sounds I'd go to sleep to and wake up to every morning.
Yeah, I know.
I mean, these guys are up in the air almost every single day.
And usually in, you know, our area, there's probably four or five choppers going at any given time.
And you don't think that things like this could happen.
And also, you kind of get used to hearing the same voices and personalities bringing you the news, telling you about car chases.
I know Stu's been a part of our lives.
So we wanted to check in with Stu for a few reasons because I thought maybe he could shed some light on all of this that is happening right now for us regular normies that don't necessarily understand the intricacies of what it's like to spend most of your life hovering above Southern California in a chopper.
And first of all, Stu, thank you for being back on with us again.
It's good to talk to you.
You know, we're big fans of yours.
Hey, I heard all that intro. I'm actually blushing. Thank you, guys. I appreciate that. And I love the love. Thank you for all that. And, you know, I just want to start with, you know, a lot of I see it in the community right now.
everybody that ever ever even saw a helicopter seems to be chiming in on on you know their
version of what happened or or their ideas of what could have what what could be better or
why this happened and all this and you know the reality for me is straight out is that it shouldn't
be about us surviving it should be about iliana george and unfortunately that person on the ground
And, you know, I really, you know, I can't say that enough.
And, you know, the helicopter community, we're all a family.
There's no doubt about it.
But it is really, truly just like a family.
You've got those cousins and brothers and, you know, everybody's got a different, you know, a different type of attitude.
but uh you know they're based out of and this is something too that maybe most people don't
really know is that the helicopter really isn't owned by nbc uh you know that they they are
managed by companies and out here in los angeles you've got heliink that's the people that i
right now they're the ones that manage the aircraft that i fly with helinet which is you
know the old school original they've been here forever and then you've got angel city air which
has the ktla and the nbc contract so you know i i really haven't you know and and it's me i don't
even know why i'm confessing i feel like this is a confessional but i haven't really reached out to
any of my friends over there at aca because i just don't know what to say to them yeah um you know
they know, they know that I, I feel the loss. Uh, Ileana, she was, you know, a lot of people
know her from, from the news and she had a great, uh, you know, following on social media, but she
was such a wonderful, beautiful person. And when I say that, I'm not just talking about her physical
beauty. I mean, inside, she was one of those people. And believe me, I would, I would be saying
this if this accident hadn't happened and you said you know tell me about Ileana um you know I
I I started working and she's she's she was learning in the 90s a late night oh I'm sorry
early 2000s early 2000s and um and she came in and you know here's this bouncy bubbly college grad
from Orange County Chapman University and you know here I am this you know seasoned I'm gonna say
use the word season but you know i've said it before she she made this rhyme she's like there's
stew on the couch and he's oscar the grouch that's what she used to call me all the time oh man she
was good at coming up with rhymes huh she's good she was she was and and but the thing was is like
we had very opposing views and when she showed up she was you know this you know this go-getter
you know you're like cartoon character girl like you know i'm gonna change the world i'm gonna be
the change i'm gonna make the difference and and just saw she saw things in a much different light
and at first you know you know i poked fun at it but you know then i saw that she had passion and
then i saw that she was learning the camera and she was learning how to to gather news and she
started and you know secretly inside and maybe i should have been more vocal you know inside i was
I was rooting for her. I really was. And she did, she pulled it off.
She made it happen. And, and that, and that was, you know, and that was,
that was the thing. And, you know, I was proud of her and, you know,
and we are a community and I am kind of that grouchy guy in the real,
in the real life. I, you know,
I'm not the guy that goes to the barbecues or hangs out and has beers after
work. I, I kind of just keep to myself, but you know, Ileana,
every time I saw her, it was warm hugs, big smiles. Um, you know what I'm talking about in,
in work, you know, we don't, you know, we'll land somewhere for fuel if there's a big story and
we'll get out and, you know, talk or if there's a helicopter event, you know, and we're both there
and, you know, it's that loss, it's that she is gone and, you know, and, and I can talk to you
guys about, you know, you know, the ideas I can understand the NTSB started talking about some
stuff and i can give you guys some insight about you know that that video where you hear those
horns going off in the background and get you some ideas about what was going on there but
you know in the community we are very judge each other very harshly all the time and nobody nobody
in my circle nobody that knows george has anything negative to say i think he i think they had a
a catastrophic failure uh you know they had it they had a mechanical issue and uh he handled it
the best he could and it was very it just it was tragic and he did they did everything right
you know the crew did everything right and it's just just brutal how it ended
does this freak you out at all because uh you know you've spent i mean countless hours up there
and we talked about this when we did the ama with you and you're ever freaked out and there
times when you've had close calls etc but when something like this is obviously you know it's
affected all of us and we don't even know the half of what you go goes into this on a daily basis are
you uh at all more nervous about your daily job or do you just go this is one of those sad fluke
accidents that happens from time to time it's a sad fluke accident that happens from time to time
today skybox you know we were the only ones up flying we did news we did our morning show uh you
You know, I, again, if you know me, don't judge me by this comment, but it's like, you know, work now, mourn later.
And, you know, we were up there today.
Clearly, we have a different type of aircraft.
We fly in a bell.
You know, all the other news helicopters in California are the same type of aircraft that crashed.
You know, maybe not the same exact model, but the same type, meaning it's an A-star.
but um you know it it's i'm not i'm not and i'm not and then again i'm just now i'm thinking about
it it's like i i'm not saying that like you know i'm so brave or you know because even the even my
pilot dylan he was anxious to go fly because we love what we do right and uh and and you know
it's an accident it was a terrible unfortunate accident and you know and i i've had other people
you know we talked about it's been believe me it's been the topic of conversation constantly
you know you could something could happen to your loved ones going to work today you know
well i know they've seen it all the time yeah we hear about say for example a commercial plane
going down and it's like oh my gosh how devastating people get scared to fly but in hindsight this
doesn't happen that often and i imagine with helicopters it happens even less but some of
the information about the helicopter they were saying it was 22 years old like what is old for
a helicopter and is it something that they could have avoided if they had updated it oh you know
what all that stuff i okay so aircraft uh you know they they do have a um a finite life there
there's there's something about that i don't know that number right off the top of my head but they
have a finite life i mean and it goes by hours aircraft go by flight hours um so you know even
though it was a 20-year-old aircraft, that engine might have been, you know, a couple of months old.
They are taken apart and put back together endlessly. And as far as maintenance goes,
you know, there's on our aircraft, and I say it's the same for everybody, there's something
called a daily. Every one of these helicopter companies, we have our own mechanics that are
part of you know part of the team and they have something called a daily where the mechanic will
go out and like literally go through a lot of the the crucial components like put eyes on it
check hoses uh you know all that stuff every single day and then the pilot does what's called
the pre-flight and then technically that's every time we go fly and you know the joke is the big
ones on the top the little ones on the back let's go but it really truly they check oil they check
you know the pilot does and so there is continuous maintenance on these aircraft
stew mondell stew mondell is on those right now if you're just joining aerial photographer reporter
uh he's the uh the uh fox eye in the sky for all of us uh and uh on skyfox and you know nice enough
to give us the sweet divots shout out of multiple times during car chases today we're talking about
obviously something much uh much sadder and that is the loss of a local reporter when her chopper
went down yesterday and people are talking about and we've all sadly now seen this video because
we can't avoid it where you're kind of watching those last moments of the uh the helicopter
trying to get elevation you hear that that sound what is that that sound that we're all hearing
that's an alarm that basically says what the the chopper can't get up there's an engine issue what
is that sound we're hearing well the the first one you hear the that when i when you hear that
that tapping beep that beep beep beep that beep beep beep sound uh that one is actually a high
rotor meaning the rpms are too high for the rotor and so the blades are spinning too fast so that's
probably the indication that there's an actual like whatever was leading up to that that is like
where the problem actually started and and the solid horn that you're hearing afterwards is a
low rotor so uh you know the pilots this is the thing too i heard somebody uh in one of the
interviews uh somebody that witnessed it saying that you know he was shocked to see that it wasn't
falling out of the sky it looked like it was gliding and you know that's another one a lot
of people think like oh those rotors are going to stop and you're going to drop like a rock well
you know there's a lot of physics involved there and it doesn't actually work like that you know
you can have an engine out and the aircraft still will have the ability i mean it's going to go down
but it you know you have the ability to you know pick where you want to land or you know and it
and if their training is right and the you know everything is working well you can actually put
it down without damage these pilots they train like that they train for engine out
like once a year they have to do proficiency and they literally will take that aircraft go out to
maybe burbank airport or something that's a big airport heaven forbid something happens
You know, they want to be where there's, you know, emergency vehicles, but they literally do engine out training where they are flying.
They will, you know, do a simulated engine out, you know, type of situation and basically just fly in without any power to the rotor.
And so it's possible it's done.
And what happened, what George was confronted with, you know, we all hear it.
we all see what see what happened i you know i just don't know i don't know uh and and i but
but the reality is the first horn was a high the second one was a low uh they were doing that that
shuttering you see with the camera that is you know the a-star has three blades so that's where
the blades are probably getting so slow that you know that you're losing that glide type of thing
But he also might have been flaring at that point, meaning kind of pulling the nose up.
So he's flying, trying to, you know, he has that spot.
You know, I don't know why, you know, again, I wasn't there.
Right.
I wasn't in the cockpit.
Well, Stu, we think of what you do on a daily basis.
I think we take it for granted a lot.
And then something like this happens.
And we, you know, we appreciate you for flying above and giving us all those aerial shots you've given us,
got us through the fires and everything else.
and I know that this has hit you extra hard
and I just wanted to say thank you for joining us
to shed some light on it
because I think all of us regular normies
are kind of confused as to,
other than just feeling sad about what happened,
understanding it's a tragedy,
not really understanding why
or any of the stuff behind it.
Well, anyway, next time maybe we'll talk
under more fun circumstances, I guess.
Definitely, and thank you guys.
And you know what?
I got to tell you, I love the love.
You got to know my social media has been blowing up.
My phone was blowing up from the moment it happened.
And, and, and, you know, I do, I love the love and thank you guys for letting me come
on and just saying, Hey, and, and, you know, next time, next time it'll be so much fun.
Well, as we've said, the helicopter, the news choppers up in the air are kind of like white
noise for Southern California.
And like Klein said, you know, it becomes something that we just, you know, don't think
about that's happening every single day, but we do appreciate you and everything that you
guys do.
No, man.
Love you guys.
Love you guys.
And in front of Ileana's family and George's family and that person.
I appreciate that.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Love you too, man.
We wanted to be able to speak to this intelligently, but since Allie and I have a total of zero hours of any sort of helicopter training,
we decided that we should have a man on that does this job daily and how it's affecting Stu.
But he was back up in the sky today, and thanks for saying those words.
And obviously, we echo everything you said.
We've got to take a quick break.
We're back in a moment.
More show to get to, and those tickets will be in mere moments.
I think we've got a Generation Wars to get to this hour, so get ready to be a part of that coming up on KROQ.
KROQ, Klein Alley Show.
We'll get into Gen Wars in a moment.
And if you'd like to play and you represent a generation, any generation at all, now is a good time to call us at 800-520-1067.
If you win Generation Wars, listen to this.
You will get access to the next four shows here at KROQ, which means you will be here for four different times, four different bands, four different In-N-Out burgers.
And all you have to do is call now and win for your generation.
So if you want in, a lot of people are asking, how can I get in to the Fontaine's DC show?
How can I get in to see the Paris?
Well, you've got to win Generation Wars.
You get into all the shows.
And we are looking for you right now.
Gen Z, Gen X, Millennial, and or Boomer
at 800-520-1067.
We want to put all these generations
awkwardly in one small space.
Bad news to report.
Jake, Johnny did not take his job seriously
as bouncer for the ribs.
You're so upset about this.
I'm so pissed.
It was for one minute.
Well, that's all you need.
You took his eyes off it for one minute.
You think the whole thing's ruined?
Yes, I do.
Yeah, you cannot interrupt
a slow and low cooking process.
The ribs have been removed.
Someone had to make their lunch.
Someone in the building removed the ribs from the oven, and they put in a baked potato.
Yes, because they need to eat their baked potato.
But you want to talk about the two ends of the food?
Wait a second.
Who brings a baked potato?
Are you baking the whole thing?
That is a strange thing to repeat.
And they put in a baked potato for 20 minutes.
So they pulled the—if you interrupt the low and slow cooking process, Allie, I'm sorry.
It is completely jeopardized.
There's no way to rebound.
You can't.
And we know low and slow.
And I look over and I say, Johnny, what happened?
You were on post.
You were on your watch.
This was your watch.
And he's sitting at his desk.
What am I supposed to do?
Just stand by the ribs?
I go, yes, that's exactly what you're supposed to do.
Well, the thing is, this is a communal kitchen where people have to make other things.
You can't take over an entire heating apparatus for multiple hours.
He just did what I did with a worser food.
Yeah, but you've already had them in for over an hour.
The guy probably went two times, and it was like, what is going on with this guy and the ribs?
I got to make my potato at some point.
He's starving.
That is such a—if someone pulled out a potato to make ribs, that's respectable.
Okay, you're right.
Better food takes the oven.
No one pulls out ribs to make a potato.
Sorry, Allie.
In no world does that make sense.
Unfortunately, this man has a potato for lunch.
That's his problem.
Right, but he has to make it.
What, is he just supposed to starve because you're deciding to make a rack of ribs for two hours?
Well, I needed another—
Yeah, I mean, now we may have to start the process over again.
Oh, my God.
This is taking so long, I don't care anymore about the ribs.
Well, apparently, you're not the only one.
I don't know whose potato this is, Johnny, but I need you to now keep an eye this time.
When the guy comes back, you need to discipline.
You put the ribs back in.
I put the ribs in.
Discipline?
What do you think Johnny's going to do?
Throw a potato at him.
Potato launcher.
I mean, the guy clearly...
Wait, how about I put up a rope?
Yeah, put up a sign.
Yeah, sign it.
Rope it off.
I thought that's what you were doing the first time around.
Oh, I didn't hear you right now.
I was taking calls right now.
We gave you the job the first time to guard the ribs.
Is he going to put up a rope like this?
Wait, somebody else, like, we can't take over the whole fryer.
Like, somebody else has to, like, you have to share it.
That's what I'm saying.
We've got dibs.
They have no business getting in there.
Ribs got dibs.
Every other day, this thing is being used never.
Yes.
So they don't expect it to be taken for hours.
Well, too bad.
So sad.
Air fryer.
First in, hey, guys, the way it works in a company kitchen is first, whoever first gets it.
Even if they need it for two hours?
I'm making ribs.
The ribs are already in there.
We should have cooked this at home.
The ribs were in the oven, Allie.
Now that's ownership.
Dibs on ribs.
Dibs on ribs.
Right, but say if...
Potato, someone yanked them out of the balls on that part.
Yeah, you can't rhyme that.
Think about how often the microwave is used.
Everyone's using it for 30 seconds a minute.
Microwave is quick, quick, quick.
Right, exactly.
But what if someone was like, I'm going to defrost an entire chicken.
I need 30 minutes at least.
People are going to be pissed because they need to use the microwave.
If they're in there first, then that's that.
That's the way it goes around here.
That's the way it works.
It's the oldest rule in the world.
See, now Johnny is putting up a passive-aggressive sign.
This is going to create problems.
We're going to create another war.
We've got to find who this potato asshole is.
I know who the potato guy is.
What?
I saw him do this.
You know the potato guy?
You saw me.
You didn't stop him?
I didn't see him take out the ribs.
I saw him prepping his potato.
Oh, my God, Allie.
And I was like, that's a weird lunch.
Oh, you're a potato protector.
You saw the crime go down.
To be honest, I didn't see him take out the ribs.
I saw him prepping his potato.
I knew this was going to happen, which is why we were preemptive
and we put a rib bouncer on the case.
And then Johnny just completely dropped the ball.
Why are you blaming it on me?
You were supposed to cook them at home.
And Jake was being ungrateful for the ribs.
That is also true.
Rib bouncer?
Listen, when the guy comes back
to claim his potato,
he's going to be very upset when he opens it up
and he realizes that...
I could go find him right now.
I'll go shout in the newsroom, like,
hey, whose potato is it?
It's not the newsroom.
Well, pull the potato out.
I mean, I'm saying...
Don't pull it out.
This guy's potato is going to taste better
because it's going to smell like ribs.
Hey, Jose.
And you didn't bring sides,
so now we've got sides.
Yeah.
You didn't bring sides?
You said there's mac and cheese for me.
I forgot that at home.
Dude.
Oh, Jesus.
Jose, hi.
Hey, guys, this guy's a douchebag.
He could have put the freaking potato
potato with the rigs.
Why does he need
the whole oven for it?
That's my point.
This guy's making
the same point I'm making.
Yeah, he could have
just added the potato.
I would say that.
He has a comb-over.
He has a comb-over
and little three hairs.
Well, there's a lot
of comb-over people here,
so it could be.
He's got a nice
set of hair, actually.
Oh, well.
I am devastated about this.
Get to two months out of him.
Who is this guy?
Who is it?
He's down the hall.
Oh, Allie's a potato protector.
She always has been.
She always has been.
She looks like one.
She looks like one.
I've had many potato in my life.
Potato protector.
Generation Wars is next on KROQ.
I'm so upset.
Lightning round Generation Wars.
Up for grabs.
Access to the next four shows here at KROQ.
So we will get into that in mere moments as we meet the contestants.
It's time for us to prove which generation is the best generation once and for all,
or at least until next week.
And I see that we have people on the phone representing the Millennial, the Boomer,
the Gen X, and the Gen Z.
It's time for Generation Wars.
i'll tell you where the b-face has been pulled out and put on the counter
dolly because it got made room for a stupid potato
all right we say good morning now to our contestants waiting on the phone to win
their way into the shows and get bragging rights mark is a millennial born in 1985
and he likes to drink the bright color of the kool-aid is that correct mark
morning guys who did you don't go by flavor you go by color i love the bright colored
bright colored kool-aid it's all about the colors i think that's um best gatorade flavor is yellow
i feel like that's a millennial thing where right you talk about a gatorade or kool-aid by color not
by flavor then somehow shift i didn't even know there were flavors written on there yeah i know
berry blue mountain berry punch those were some of the greatest ones all right this guy's an
We say hi to our Gen Z, born in 2001.
This is Jessie, big fan of vaping.
Hey, you're a vaper?
Yeah, well, I got pregnant, so not anymore, but right up until I got pregnant.
Oh, I thought that's why they created vaping, so you could smoke while pregnant.
Close, kind of.
All right, well, we say welcome to you.
And what was your favorite flavor of vape?
Did you have a flavor you were into?
Matcha.
Matcha.
Matcha vape, man.
That's amazing.
That's very Gen Z of you.
We say hi to our Gen Xer, born in 73.
This is Paula.
Hey, what's up, Paula?
Welcome to KROQ.
Good morning.
What's up, guys?
If you know the answer to the questions, you must yell out Gen X before anyone else.
Wait for Allie to call on you, and then you can lock in.
And we say hello now to Eric, our boomer, born in 1961, who didn't have cable TV.
Right, Eric?
You there, buddy?
Eric?
Boomer.
He may have fallen asleep.
Boomer.
Eric?
Eric or Derek?
Eric, you're on mute.
Unmute yourself.
Unmute yourself, Eric.
Okay, I'm off mute.
I knew it.
I knew it.
All right, well, now we know who everyone is.
A boomer of me, huh?
Yeah.
All right.
If you know the answers, please lock in by yelling out your generation.
Wait for Allie to call on you.
And here we go.
Question number one.
Who was Kurt Loder?
Boomer.
Yes, Boomer.
He was an MTV VJ.
An MTV VJ.
I will accept that.
More of an MTV newsman, but sure, I will accept.
Kurt Loder broke a lot of the big news stories of the 90s, I would say.
Maybe even late 80s, perhaps.
I'm also questioning why Paula the Gen Xer yelled out Boomer just now.
Yeah, what's going on with you, Paula?
Are you confused?
I had a boomer moment.
I keep talking about it.
Yeah, she is at the beginning.
She's one of the older Gen Xers, you know, born in the early 70s.
So she's on the cusp.
On the cusp.
Here we go.
Next question.
Generation Wars.
Long before YouTube, there was something called the boob tube.
What was that?
Gen X.
I heard millennial first by a hair.
Millennial, what is the boob tube?
Um, that was like a women's, like, strapless top.
No.
It was a tube top.
Okay, Gen X, go ahead.
That's Gen X.
The TV.
That is correct.
Boob tube was just what people used to refer to as the TV.
But I like boob tube better for a tube top.
I think boob tube is a better name for tube top, for sure.
We should change that.
Yeah.
Uh, we go to this next question.
It's Generation Worse.
uh the noid was the mascot slash enemy of what yes gen x boomer dominoes pizza is correct
we move on ali to this next question seems like a gen x boomer war which commonly uh used emoji
is perceived by gen z as being passive aggressive and cold only used in formal workplace chats
which commonly used emoji
is disliked by Gen Z?
Millennial.
Yes, Millennial.
The clapping emoji.
That is not right.
Especially clapping
in between every word.
Yes.
The laugh-crying emoji.
No, laugh-crying
is not correct either.
Gen Z?
Yes, Gen Z.
You should know this one.
A skull?
No.
Hmm.
Oh.
The thumbs up.
Oh, that's what I was thinking.
Thumbs up.
People don't like it.
And we move on to your next question in Generation Wars.
Here we go.
If someone tells you to eat my shorts, what are they saying?
Millennials.
Oh, I think I heard boomer first.
Barely, by like a hair.
It's an insult a la Bart Simpson.
That is a correct answer.
You're telling someone to buzz off.
Eat my shorts popularized by a Bart Simpson.
Allie, what's the score with only five questions left?
Paula, the Gen Xer, and Eric, the Boomer, are tied with two apiece.
We go to this next question in Generation Wars.
Here we go.
What was the name of He-Man's female counterpart that was actually his long-lost twin sister?
Yes, Gen X.
Sheena?
Say it again.
Sheena?
Spell that.
Millennium.
S-H-E-M-A-H.
Sheena, Princess of Power.
I think she's saying she-la.
Yeah.
No, not she-la.
She-na.
No, no, no.
She-na with an N?
Yes.
That is incorrect.
Not correct.
She did, yeah.
She got that right.
It's funny that you have the description.
Millennial, go ahead for the steal.
She-ra.
She-ra.
With an A.
That is incorrect.
You should see her in a boob tube.
That's what she was all about.
Go to your next question right now.
And, Allie, what is the score with only four questions left?
Gen X has two.
Boomer has two.
Millennial has one.
In the MTV show Cribs, what room did most of the guests say,
this is where the magic happens?
Boomer.
Gen X.
Boomer.
The bedroom.
That is the correct answer.
That was a very popular catchphrase for that show.
And we go to this next question now in Generation Wars.
What toy was a ball attached to an ankle ring?
Millennial.
Yes, Millennial.
That toy you skip around.
Yeah, you're getting there.
Skip what?
Skip-a?
That's a He-Man sister.
It's definitely catchier than the toy that you skip around.
Yes, for the steel boomer.
The He-Man sister, skip-a.
Skip-a.
No, also wrong.
Yeah, I know.
Anyone else want to steal?
Yeah, I know.
Who wants to steal this one?
I'm a loser.
It's the ball that had an ankle.
This should be a question.
We were literally talking about it earlier.
This should be a millennial easy question, millennial.
But no one wants to take this one.
And the answer is skip it.
Skip it.
Skip it.
Skip it.
All right.
Final questions.
If someone says get that bread, what are they actually telling you to get?
Millennial.
Millennial.
Money.
That is correct.
Millennial on the board.
Allie, what is the score?
We have two questions.
Boomer is in the lead with three points, followed by Gen X and millennial.
Each have two.
All right.
Still a possible changing of the guards that could happen here.
Let's find out.
This fancy mustard was oftentimes passed from limo...
Boomer.
Yes, Boomer.
Grape or palm.
That is correct.
Good job, Eric.
And we get down to this last question.
I don't know if it matters, but what candy would allow people to get backstage at concerts
or sneak into other events
because it was the Freshmaker.
Boomer.
Yes, Boomer.
Mentos?
Wow!
Boomer.
You did great.
We have a regular-ass Boomer winner today.
Minus the fact that he couldn't get his phone off mute
at the very beginning of the game.
This has not happened in a long time,
and we say goodbye to our Millennial,
our Gen X, and our Gen Z,
and we say congratulations to Eric,
our Boomer contestant.
I can't believe it.
Proving that Boomers still have a chance.
I think it's the first ever natural Boomer win, perhaps, in a Generation War.
I think so.
Especially how it started.
Yeah, I was like, nope, this guy's not.
Boomer, congratulations.
What song of any song would you like to hear on KROQ now that you think best represents your generation?
It's got to be the Dead Kennedys' Holiday in Cambodia.
Cool.
All right, let's give you a commercial about stormwater.

It's time for ADD News
Time is moving faster than ever right now
Halloween decorations are up
I just made my New Year's Eve plans last night
What are you doing?
I'm going to go to Sequoia
What is that?
Trees?
Yeah, trees
I'm going to be super pregnant
I'm not going to be able to rage
For New Year's?
Yeah
I don't give a crap what you think
Why are you even asking if you're going to make fun of me?
I didn't ask.
Omar asked.
I didn't ask.
I did.
I did.
I'm sorry.
I wasn't even going to ask.
I'm sorry.
Well, thanks a lot, guys.
I'll just assume your plans are lame.
Okay.
At least I have plans, douchebag.
You're doing the same thing as squirrels.
You're just going to the trees.
Look, it's pretty there.
Why wouldn't I want to just be in a pretty place rather than be sitting at home?
Well, I don't think that sitting at home was the other option.
How about a nice dinner somewhere?
That's fine.
I'll have a nice dinner.
I can't have a nice dinner in a different place?
Go to the forest.
You think all I can eat is nuts when I go to a forest?
Yeah, that's right.
We know.
No, there's like lodges and restaurants in a town there.
There is?
Yeah.
Have you even ever been there?
Nope.
To Sequoia?
Yeah.
Yeah, there's not like a town.
It's a natural forest.
No, I'm in a big hotel.
Are you staying in a tree house?
So you're not even camping?
No, I'm not camping in the middle of winter.
You should have run your plans by us before you booked it.
Oh, my God.
Is it refundable?
It was just a throwaway statement.
Are we really going to spend this much time on this?
Full show's on this.
Oh, my God.
So the point being, everything is moving very quickly, and all the stores are now...
That's what you're doing?
Yeah, man.
There's trees.
Okay, all right.
My friends went there last year and said it was great, so we're joining them this year.
We're just kind of hitching on to what they're doing.
Did they invite you, or did you invite yourself?
No, they invited us.
They said we went last year.
It was great.
You should join us this year.
Pity invite.
Because they assume
That nobody will go to the Sequoia
Let's practice how this should have gone
Why is this such a weird thing?
Invite me to Sequoia
Let's see this role play
How this should have gone
Hey I went to Sequoia last year
It was really really great
I ate nuts all day
You should join me next time
Absolutely not
I'd rather cut my penis off
Well you know what
You don't appreciate nature
So you shouldn't go to the snow
Or the trees
Or anything like that
You know what I like construction
Sitting inside of it
Yeah and you know
Omar wants to go get wasted and have a nice dinner.
That's what he wants to do.
Spoiler, we like doing different things.
In Sequoia, I say to those trees, I will visit you once you're chopped down and turned into a cool building.
Preferably a David Boston.
Once you turn into a bill statement.
So anyway, all these stores are releasing their holiday deals and lineups early.
Amazon, Target, Walmart, Ikea, they've all revealed their spreads for the holidays.
Amazon is turning basically their October Prime Day sale into a full-on holiday sale.
They're not just doing this out of the blue.
They've noticed that people are already buying stuff for Christmas, so they're just following all of us, essentially.
And to compete with this, Walmart and Target are doing their very own holiday sales in October.
So there's going to be 50% off home goods, 40% off clothes and tech and 30% off toys.
And of course, all of those deals get much, much better once you sign up for all their crap like Target Circle and Walmart Plus and all that stuff.
And just word of wise, cancel all that stuff so that you're at square one for the holidays and you re-sign up.
You get all of those 15%, 20% discounts, okay?
Thrifty Thursday advice for you.
Sydney Sweeney's feelings are hurt because everybody's mad about her hot body in the betting ad that she just did.
A lot of people, mainly women, have been attacking her and saying that she's over-sexualizing women in sports
and it undermines everything that these athletes have accomplished
and it puts focus on their bodies rather than their abilities.
Then again, a lot of female athletes pose for the Sports Illustrated body issue.
But regardless, this is making Sydney Sweeney sad,
and she posted on her social media crying about it.
I think it's really important for people to see how words actually affect people.
And I know everyone says, like, you can't read things and you shouldn't read things.
But, like, I'm a f***ing person.
I'm just sitting here with my dog, Tink, watching HGTV, wearing my stuggy, like...
She's naked during this announcement, by the way.
It's a great move on her part.
She went back to her full naked, just covering her nipples with tissues.
Right, and that's what she does.
She's the best.
And her cha-cha with the dog.
Tank just loves her.
Oh, man.
What a show.
Just going to motorboat these all night while you watch HGTV.
I don't know.
People need to be nicer on social media.
Ugh, this bitch.
Whoa, Vanessa.
Jesus.
That was recorded, Vanessa.
That wasn't live, Vanessa.
you were thinking it
I wonder how she feels
about all the other commercials that have been
coming out in recent days mocking her
like this one
just
no wars no politics
just pee pee and poo poo
out of your back hall
and this one
that's a toilet paper one right
that's hilarious that's a very funny one
there's this AI Samuel L. Jackson one
is this better
is this what you want mother f***er
Sports!
Y'all walking around like you ain't seen that woman's ta-tas before.
Man, shut the hell up.
Sports.
I'm not climbing up on that damn hoop.
Y'all know I'm 77, right?
So, I think obviously this is being taken in a lot of different directions.
And you know what?
I think we can all celebrate women's bodies no matter what they look like.
Whether they're naked or not or on a basketball hoop or not.
Historically, every time Sidney Sweeney's been involved in a commercial for anything,
it gets a ton of extra attention.
And that is the greatest thing you could possibly want if you're a company.
Controversy, absolutely.
I forget what jean company she was modeling.
American Eagle Outfitters or something like that?
That's good.
I'm glad that you forget.
I don't remember.
It's really good for the company.
What company was that?
I bought like five pairs.
I just know that their stock soared, and it was a big deal when she did that as well.
So good on her.
That's empowerment right there.
You know, a lot of people think it is.
This is also empowerment.
When you get home, ladies, what do you do as soon as you walk through the door?
Well, science says as soon as you walk through the door, you take off your bra.
And I'm sure Sidney Sweeney is with you on this.
Over half of women, 58%, said that they're in a hurry to take their bra off as soon as they get back home.
And once they've taken their bra off, the day is over.
And I've experienced this firsthand at home where one of us has to go pick up the food.
And Katie goes, well, I took my bra off.
So I guess it's you.
That's the equivalent of like in my house where my wife's like, someone has to stay up all night with the puppy.
And I just took an Ambien.
And I'm like, well, hold on.
I didn't get a chance to take an Ambien.
So it's a race when you get through the door to take an Ambien?
Yeah, and I guess in your case, I took an Ambien.
You have to put the kids up at school.
I took an Ambien.
Can't do it.
But you, you will race your wife to say who can remove bra first.
If bra's off, that means you're home.
I don't take my bra off.
I'm one of the few people who doesn't.
Well, then that's your problem now.
You're stuck doing everything.
Yeah, I know.
But when I take my bra off, after a while, it starts rubbing my nips because I have sensitive nipples.
Oh, God.
Do you want to talk about that?
Yeah.
I'd rather talk about your trip to Sequoia, to be honest.
Man.
I like roughing it.
That was both ends of the sexual spectrum there.
From the Sidney Sweeney to the alley.
Oh, man.
We've been all over the place.
Your D was so confused.
So confused.
Up, down.
What's going on down there?
D-whiplash.
I got a D-whiplash right now.
I got to call Sweet James.
