Klein/Ally Show: The Podcast - Jake's Lady Shirt, Johnny's Bet & Klein's BIG Massage (FULL SHOW 9/10)

Episode Date: September 10, 2026

Jake knowingly bought a women's shirt at the Guns & Roses show over the weekend, and decided to debut it on the show today. He's convinced it was the right decision. Check out the IG and YouTube Lives...tream to check it out and see for yourself. We also went down memory lane and went through all the times Klein has accidentally purchased women's apparel. Johnny came across an unexpected $600 yesterday, which Klein convinced him to bet on the Patriots winning the NFL opener last night. As you may know, it didn't work out for Johnny, and he's now painfully aware of the ups and downs of sports bettings. Klein's wife treated him to a Thai massage, but of course because it's Klein things didn't go well. It ended with him being manhandled by a giant Thai woman named Minnie, and he's vowed never to get another massage again. Plus we learned what gross habit we're all doing at bars during Clickbait, discussed the end of the world during Man Vs Machine, and finally had a successful Boomer during Gen Wars! (he still didn't win)

Starting point is 00:00:00 We'll get into an episode of Klein Alley Show in just a moment, but in the meantime, let's tell you about our absolute favorite place on the planet. Yep, that would be San Bernardino International Airport, where you can go through the airport process without waiting in long lines and overpaying for parking. Quick connections to the Bay Area and the world, plus ski and snowboard in Provo from San Bernardino all winter long. Every other airport, you're going to be in long TSA lines, you're going to be miserable, you're going to say, oh, I got to get there two, three hours before my flight.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Not at San Bernardino International Airport. And now we send you on a direct flight into our podcast, which starts right now. Hey, what's going on, Clown and Allie? Are you ready? I love Clown and Allie, you little bitch. Clown and Allie, it's just okay. Just don't let things bother you too much. Good morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Hey, what up, Clown and Allie? Whoa, sweet devils, did you see that? We have a Clown and Allie show. Let's get this show started. The show started. The show started. We are live in Los Angeles. Three, two, one.
Starting point is 00:01:03 And here we go. It's Clyde Elliott. Low 6.7. KROQ FM and HD Pasadena. Los Angeles. Orange County. The Sonic Pulse of Los Angeles. This is the world famous KROQ.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Hello, hell yeah. Good morning and welcome to your Thursday. The pre-quint is here. It's a thrifty Thursday. Also a BF Thursday. day and we are together again at 800-520-1067 to call to text or 323-TIP-BOLI if you want to hit us on the local lines win stuff from us today we'll get you into the opening night of not scary farm continue doing that and more of those tickets because we have failed to give them away even
Starting point is 00:01:39 though we promised you to the sand sports super show the oc fair at event center and that'll be happening this morning on k-rock good morning i'm klein there's alley morning that is a dj omar khan over there he is known as the audio sniper then there's jake the nerd who is wearing a lady t-shirt today. We'll talk about that a little bit later. We'll talk about that at length. He knew it was a lady shirt when he bought it. He bought it anyway. You have purchased lady
Starting point is 00:02:03 things on accident. Accidentally. I bought those lady sweatpants. Multiple times. And I think you bought lady shoes at the store once. Well, that was because they wouldn't let me into the bar with flip-flops I was wearing. Wasn't that for my bachelorette party? Yeah, so I had to go into CVS and the only shoes they had that had closed toes
Starting point is 00:02:19 were lady shoes, like flats. They were flats. So I had to buy those just so they would... I mean, what a stupid rule this was. Luckily, they had your size. They wouldn't let me into a whiskey bar in downtown LA because I was wearing open-toed shoes. So then I had to go to a CVS.
Starting point is 00:02:35 It was the only thing open. And I bought ladies flats, ballet flats, and put them on and walked in. And they had no problem letting me in wearing those. I think when you're in a CVS and anyone's buying clothing, bad things have happened. Someone definitely just crapped themselves. You are desperate.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Yeah, nobody is like, I need to get some shoes. Right. I will make a point to go to CVS. Yeah, I forgot about those ladies' shoes. You still have them? No, I think I chucked them. I think as soon as I was allowed through the door of the bar, I immediately took them off and put my flip-flops back on.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I think that's right. But it was a really stupid, stupid thing to happen. I mean, I couldn't believe it. The bouncer goes, all right, you can get in there now. I go, these are, I think they were like pink or red flats or something. I think any L.A. bar should always allow open-toed. I mean, we live in Southern California where everyone's wearing open-toed everything always. Flip-flops are like convertibles for your feet, baby.
Starting point is 00:03:23 It's like winter wear. That's right. And they're back. By the way, they're in style. Not the one Jake has where he shows off his gangly little Jar Jar Pink's toe. What are you talking about? Toby one Kenobi, that weird toe you have. But in general, I think flip-flops are back.
Starting point is 00:03:36 They're very in right now. Are they? Did you know that? No, I don't know anything about what's in or out. Yeah, this is true. Yeah, they're very in. Like flip-flops or slides? Yeah, like the...
Starting point is 00:03:43 Flip-flops. Like the thong sandals as they used to be called. The simple black thong sandals. Oh, great. I've got them. Well, Allie will ruin this fashion trend real quick as soon as she starts wearing them again. There's Vanessa in the back right there, Postmaster Johnny, who did put himself in his first ever official wager on NFL football last night.
Starting point is 00:04:01 And we'll get into how that went, but I think we all know. Terrible, man. Okay, well, we don't have to do it yet. This is such a bad mood. Yeah, I'm not mad. I'm just like, I hate sports, man, and I hate that I trusted you, Klein. Well, listen, that's the important lesson you learned here is don't trust Klein when it comes to gambling. But this guy made a good point on the go line.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Johnny Jericho, welcome to the seething, underlying belly of sports gambling. Now you're going to have to do some day-leno stuff for your guitar. Squirrel! So, yeah, what a kickoff to NFL football. We'll get into all of that, I'm sure. Lots to get into this morning on the show. Of course, we'll do your Generation Wars a little bit later as well. And some surprises.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Even we'll be surprised. on a Thursday morning here on KROQ. Whose house? Ram's house. That's right, Vanessa. Vanessa is. She has a house. Vanessa's got a Ram's house.
Starting point is 00:04:58 That's right. I'm going to go out there. I'm doing it. I think, you know, I've got a theory. Oh, that's Omar's chant. Careful. Vanessa is forced to be a Ram's fan this season. I have a feeling, Allie,
Starting point is 00:05:12 because we all did our forced fandom picks yesterday for which teams will have to support this season. And I think that Vanessa is going to wear some Rams gear that she's forced to wear. She's going to be approached by someone because I think people use team camaraderie as a good opportunity to go up in a project. It's a great icebreaker. And I think that she is going to meet her next boyfriend. Great prediction.
Starting point is 00:05:30 As a result of this forced fandom thing, because some guy's going to go up and be like, oh my God, Rams. I like the Rams. And girls who are into sports, specifically football, is hot. And Vanessa's going to have to, it's going to be one of those funny like sitcom-y things that she's into where she has to fake that she really cares, but she doesn't. And they're going to games together. And Johnny's going to have to sit outside and, like, speak into her ear and into, like, that earpiece.
Starting point is 00:05:49 I don't see this for myself. I see it. Like, I see it. Whose house? I know. Ram's house. That's right. If anyone mentions house at any point during the show all season, Vanessa must immediately jump in with Ram's house because she's such a fan now.
Starting point is 00:06:01 I really wanted to buy her a last-minute ticket to Australia so she could be there for their first game. Hey, if you left now, you could make it by the end of the fourth quarter, I think. Probably get on the plane with the team at this point. So I think it's nice to know that we have a Super Rams fan on the team right now. And Jake's doing good, too. He got one of those cheese wheel hats already. Yeah, Jake's wearing his cheese hat already. So it's crazy that he had that thing.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I'm a big cheese guy. Cheese it, man. It totally fits him. Yeah, I got some Baltimore Ravens merch coming my way, which I'm not thrilled about. I bought a peace pipe. Omar bought a peace pipe. So we're all doing our part. He's the Washington Commanders.
Starting point is 00:06:37 We're all doing our part. Yeah, we're all doing our part. That's what it's all about. I just wanted to point out, Allie, that some people say that our show does bring them positivity in an otherwise crazy world. What it do, baby boo? Hey, so I was just calling because I'm laying here in bed
Starting point is 00:06:50 scrolling on my Instagram and your page came up and I just have to tell you guys how much I freaking love all of you. I listen to you guys every morning and you genuinely make me laugh and make my day just a little bit brighter. So I just wanted to call
Starting point is 00:07:05 and share the love and positivity. Thank you guys. So thank you. And I do. Wow, that's it? She didn't even turn around and insult us? Didn't insult us. Didn't ask for tickets.
Starting point is 00:07:13 She just wanted to say something nice, so we returned the niceness with a moment of optimism. And now, a moment of optimism with Klein. It doesn't get bigger or more direct than this. Quote, AI could kill all humans, according to a lead researcher at Anthropic, within the next decade. There you have it. A moment of optimism to get you going on this Thursday morning. What it do, baby boo? We'll talk about that a little bit later today during Man vs. Machine
Starting point is 00:07:41 because apparently the machines have had it with us and we've got a decade left before they take over and this whole thing becomes Skynet. Yeah, I think this guy even said by the end of the decade, which is really not far away. Yeah, they say it's ramping up too quickly now. And who knows? I mean, it's getting smarter by the moment.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Now there's been multiple instances where the AI has figured out ways to basically do other things without any sort of human control. Yeah, but then we're still doing stupid crap like saving delivery robots. I thought I can't... Like this woman makes the news
Starting point is 00:08:09 for like saving a delivery robot and it's like, why don't we stop doing this? Just because they have cute little eyes that blink doesn't mean that they're on our side and that they're actually good. This is the problem, is that they're trying to kill us. Meanwhile, we're out there going, we're trying to rescue the little car that fell over.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Well, the car fell over. Save it. You know what they're doing? They're learning our strength. You go ahead and you flip it over. You think, oh, this thing's got someone's food delivery in it. Let's flip it back up. I've watched a lot of humans help robots. They're just trying to figure out how strong we really are.
Starting point is 00:08:36 And they're learning how empathetic we are. Yeah, and they're going to use it against us. So, once again, we are trying to save you from future you. And we'll get to that. If you want Ali's money, call now and claim it. 800-520-1067. 800-520-1067. Five questions about the news.
Starting point is 00:08:51 You battling Ali. It'll happen after this on KROQ. That band right there, Nirvana, is about to receive a new MTV Video Music Award. I know you're thinking that still happens. Yes, it does. And Nirvana's still winning awards? Yes, the Video Vanguard Award. They have been announced they'll be winning that, which I don't know what that means in the world of MTV,
Starting point is 00:09:07 but I think that's like their Cecil Beal whatever. Their Cecil B. DeMille Award. That's the one. I don't know who that is either, but I'm sure that's the big one. The video vanguard. I think that's what Dave Grohl's been waiting for all these years, so congratulations to Nirvana. Let's say hi to a lot of people on the phone who want your money, Allie.
Starting point is 00:09:23 We go to the Orange County. We say good morning to Danny. Hey, Danny. Sweet divots. Divots to you, good sir. Allie will leave the KROQ studios. You get to go first. These questions are not challenging,
Starting point is 00:09:34 but they are technically all about things in the news. Do better than Ali, don't cheat, and we give you $100 of her money, and it all starts right now. Ali knows the news. Shohei Ohtani is now officially on the injured list because of what body part of his? Uh, his wrist. Wrist. We've got a question number two. This K-Rock band has been forced to change their social media handles,
Starting point is 00:10:09 and we all have Mark Zuckerberg to blame. Which K-Rock band has now been forced to change all social media handles? Red Hot Chili Peppers. Question number three. Krispy Kreme is added again with a new fall flavor, and it's not pumpkin spice, so what is it? maple syrup maple syrup we go to question number four the flip phone was the big thing talked about after the apple announcement yesterday but what is one other thing that they announced
Starting point is 00:10:46 got a guess three yeah two the new iMac the new iMac and we go to this final question and you could use this one there was a brush fire yesterday that was sending smoke all over parts of Southern California, and what classy building was closed and evacuated because of it? Chinese theater? Nah, nothing classier than the
Starting point is 00:11:27 Chinese theater. Alright, let's bring Allie in. We'll score it together and see how you did. I don't know why we're going through this charade of having to score it together. You didn't do great, but okay, let's figure it out. Allie's coming back into the K-Rock Studios. Send her in, someone. There she is. She's re-entering now. And it is, listen, Danny, I would like to say stranger things have happened,
Starting point is 00:11:45 but I don't think anything stranger has happened. I'm rooting for you regardless. Here we go, Allie, question one. Yep. Shohei Otani is now on the injured list because of what body part of his? I feel like with baseball players, it's like a shoulder. It's always a shoulder. He said wrist, you say shoulder.
Starting point is 00:12:02 But you guys are all over the place without hitting the actual problem, which is his right arm. It's the right arm. Which includes his shoulder. No, I'm so sorry. We cannot accept that. Either of you. No one gets the point.
Starting point is 00:12:13 The wrist is on an arm. The wrist is on the arm. The shoulder technically connects to the arm, but the right arm is the official body part listed on the injured list. It just says it's hurting. Got to rest him for, I think he's on there for 15 days or something like that. We've got a question number two. Was a... Wow.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Old call. Question two. That's right. Allie's a Giants fan, so she doesn't care. No, I don't. This K-Rock band has been forced to change all social media handles, and we have Mark Zuckerberg to blame. Yeah, that would be Muse. Ah, just here at the Hollywood Bowl last week.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Not too long ago, Matt Bellamy of Muse was sitting in this very studio, and little did he know at that time that the AI assistant for Facebook would be called Muse. And they have now, and I don't know, did they pay them to do it, or they just did it? They must have. You think they gave them money? They own their social media channels. You think they gave Muse money for that, or you think they just said, we own it? I don't know, dude. They can't just take it over.
Starting point is 00:13:12 I think they could. I think they have the ability and the fine print when you sign up for Instagram that they say, if we want to take back any of these handles at any time for any reason, we can. No. I bet they did. I think they have to go and say. I mean, the dude does own it. Yeah, he owns it.
Starting point is 00:13:23 He owns it. He's got the master password. He's like, it's mine. He's like, actually, it's mine because I created all of this. So Muse had to change all their social media from Muse to Muse Band so that basically that Facebook could own just at Muse? Or do you think they're like, hey, I'll give you $40 million if you change it to Muse
Starting point is 00:13:40 Band? Well, that's the question. Did they get paid for it or not? No, they didn't get paid for it. They just had to settle with it. Like, they just had to accept the name Muse Band. How do you know that? Because I saw it online last night, like twice. Alright, well, if you saw it online twice, it must be true. It's definitely true. Question three.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Allie's up 1-0. Krispy Kreme has a new fall-flavored donut, and no, it is not pumpkin spice. What is it? I think the apple pie is making a comeback, so I'm going to go apple pie. He said maple syrup, but the correct answer, Allie, you're closer, but you are not correct. It is glazed apple cider is the flavor. Apple, though, is the new pumpkin. Apple is becoming the new pumpkin, which is very true by the announcement.
Starting point is 00:14:20 And speaking of apple announcements, they did announce the flip phone, which everyone has been talking about. It's the big buzz of the big announcement. but what is one other thing that was announced at the big Apple announcement party, whatever the hell they call that thing? Announcement party? The Apple 18, the new iPhone? iPhone 18, I will accept that. He said the new iMac, which was not talked about at all.
Starting point is 00:14:40 They talked about a new watch, they talked about new AirPods, and then they talked about the phones. All right, so once again, Allie gets another point. Danny, it's not going well for you today on this Thrifty Thursday. El Cheapo is going to be real proud of herself. And this final question, there was a brush fire yesterday and sent smoke into many parts of Southern California. I know it was real smoky where I was in the valley. But what classy building was evacuated and then temporarily closed?
Starting point is 00:15:10 Nothing is classier than the Getty Center. Ah, yeah, the good old Getty Center. He said the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, also classy, but it was the Getty Center. Do you think when they evacuated, all four people left at once? I think the four volunteers there that tell you don't touch stuff all had to leave. I'm so glad it wasn't smoky at my house. It was a smoke. Whose house?
Starting point is 00:15:32 Dan's house. That's right. Well done. Vanessa, you got to jump on that quicker. I'm getting used to it. I'm a new fan. I know. By the end, she's going to be it.
Starting point is 00:15:42 You can't even mention a house. Danny, what must you shamefully admit over the airwaves of K-Rock? I'm so embarrassed. Hi, I'm Danny, and Allie knows the news. Yeah, you should say I'm so embarrassed. That was an embarrassing performance on you, and shame, shame, good sir, shame, shame. Hey, Rob, we're your client Allie's show.
Starting point is 00:16:01 I'm not a massage guy. I know Allie likes to get massaged. She likes to force people to touch her body. I usually find that whole experience to be not relaxing and incredibly uncomfortable. Well, you overthink through the process. You have to allow yourself to truly unlock. You know what you should do is do an edible
Starting point is 00:16:16 before you go in there. I've done that. I've tried that way before, and my brain just works overtime. Oh, really? If I'm on a gummy, then I'm thinking the whole time. It's moving slowly
Starting point is 00:16:24 because usually what I do is the second they tell me to put my face down on that hemorrhoid pillow thing and you have to put your face in, which, by the way, is not comfortable either. No, and I have a ring
Starting point is 00:16:33 around my face all day after that. Yeah, I spend my time counting backwards. I literally go, all right, that's the first time they've touched me and now I'll just start
Starting point is 00:16:41 counting backwards for whatever, how long it is, 45 minutes. Because you can't wait for it to be over or because you're wondering when it's over? Can't wait for it to be over.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Wow. You can go to a happy ending place. I've been there before. Yeah, those are more fun. It's going to be a different counting experience. I count up that way. One, two, three, goodbye. It's a much shorter count.
Starting point is 00:17:00 You're like, I don't need the 60-minute rate. What is this? Do you guys have a four-minute rate? Because I'm interested in that, if that's a possibility. But the legitimate ones, I don't like. And for whatever reason, my wife should know by now that I don't like massages. I don't enjoy them. I don't like them.
Starting point is 00:17:16 The idea of a couple's massage would be a nice thing for her. She, yeah, she likes them more, but she likes to do these stupid ones like lymph, lymph node or lymph. Oh, lymphatic drainage. Yeah, what the hell is that about? It's all BS. It's BS? What does it even mean?
Starting point is 00:17:29 It's just like your lymphatic system is just a bunch of like fluid in your body and people think that if you drain it out, you're going to be thinner. How do you drain it out? Oh, so you're just pushing fluid out? Yeah, essentially. It's like changing your oil on a car? Mm-hmm. Oh.
Starting point is 00:17:42 It's like a happy ending massage again. Yeah, you're doing lymphatic drainage. Yeah, I like lymphatic drainage. I'm into it again. It's actually phallic drainage. I signed up for the phallic drainage massage. So the other day, there's a place on Ventura. Of course there is.
Starting point is 00:17:59 One of those very, you know, just you walk by, they got the flashing light in the window, open, open. I've been before. It's legit. Next to the acai place and the sushi place and the neon sign place is the massage place. That's the way they go. And then it starts again, and that's pretty much Ventura Boulevard. and I have been before and it's the weird thing
Starting point is 00:18:19 about this place and I think I may have talked about it is that it's one of those places where they will walk all over your back. Yeah, traditional Thai massage. They have a bunch of bars
Starting point is 00:18:26 on the ceiling. Love it. It's painful. That's when I know it's a good massage and they stand on your back and I did this one other time and this was been
Starting point is 00:18:32 well over a year ago and I didn't know because when the person came and whispered in my ear like I'm laying down on my back I don't really know what's happening
Starting point is 00:18:41 and then I get this kind of like not the cleanest English but some version of like, and I, I was giving approval for, I thought, I wasn't sure what type of place this was at the time. Just say yes. I thought it was a, you know, one of those lymphatic drainage situations, you know what I'm saying? So I said, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:00 And then they proceeded to climb on the table and I said, whoa, this is getting crazy. They like bend your legs all crazy too. But then they just walked all over me and like basically tap danced on my back for, you know, 25 minutes. And I spent the whole time, I said, this is really weird, but I spent the whole time laughing to myself about how ridiculous this probably looks. Well, and also, I like wondering what part of their body is touching me. I'm like, what is that, an elbow? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Is that the ball of her foot? Yeah, it's weird. What is this now? It's almost torturous, but the person who did it the first time I went was a very, like, petite, you know, the Jake special, you know what I'm saying? Nice. I go back there this past weekend because my wife. Why did you go back if you don't like it? Because my wife decided she was going to take my daughters to get pedicures or something like that.
Starting point is 00:19:45 She knows that whole thing is terrible for me because I just sit. I just am the guy who's sitting in the not comfortable chair on the side looking at everyone. Oh, you have a reject chair. And it takes so. So she goes, while we do this, you're going to go here. And I know you went there before and you said you liked it. And I said, I didn't say I liked it. I said I got through it.
Starting point is 00:20:03 She goes, well, I bought you a thing. And so I went in, and just like last time, this petite person is waiting for me, very pleasant, big smile on their face, handing me a little green tea candy. Mmm, yummy. And they said, what type of pressure would you like? I said, you know, something firm. My back's a little jacked up.
Starting point is 00:20:21 And she goes, oh, firm, okay, that's not me. And then she yells down the hall. She goes, ah, ah, like some, you know, some war chant. And this door opens, and this monstrous person comes out. I mean, like big girl, but big in every, not just big, like, like seven, I want to say close to seven feet tall, big and like probably 300 pounds. Cool. And she comes down the hall walking.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yeah. Like that. That's, I swear to you. Those hallways are so thin too. It was like, like this door, she turns these little tiny, oh, I think, oh, this woman's going to walk on my back for the next hour. That'll be fun. And then she goes, oh, I say firm.
Starting point is 00:21:01 She goes, oh, not me. and then she turns and she does like yells like a name like that voila and then all of a sudden the door opens up oh my god
Starting point is 00:21:10 and this monster just kind of starts like boom boom down down down the hall and I go oh man I hope this is not
Starting point is 00:21:19 what's coming to me now I don't want the drainage from her and she puts her hand on my shoulder this massive hand oh cool I bet she's amazing
Starting point is 00:21:27 and she kind of pulls me into the room and then just She twirls you around. Spins me on her finger like a basketball and puts me on the table and I lay down and I think to myself, if this woman walks on my back,
Starting point is 00:21:41 I'm going to die. I just know. There's no way I can accommodate. You said firm. I said firm. And then she said to me, what type of pressure? And I said, this time I tried to back up
Starting point is 00:21:52 thinking maybe she'd swap me back. And I go, minimum, minimum pressure, minimum. And she goes, it says here, she looks at the form, shows me the form. You circle the little parts of your body Yeah you're circled firm And I go ah damn She got me on the form
Starting point is 00:22:06 I'm the firm girl That's why they bring her in She's like the pinch hitter Yeah they bring her in Like out of the bullpen Yeah Like wild thing Ricky Vaughn
Starting point is 00:22:13 A literal bullpen Comes in out of that literal bullpen And she puts me on the table And I just lay down And I'm now in full You're tense And I'm waiting for this to happen She starts with the arm stuff
Starting point is 00:22:25 Are you shirtless? Just in a towel or I'm in just my underwear Whoa okay I went in my underwear and I'm under a sheet, but I know at any moment now she's going to walk on me
Starting point is 00:22:34 and it's not going to be fun walking on me. So I spend now, I usually just count backwards in my head for the massage to end. This time I'm going, at what point am I going to be in the most pain of my life? And she's doing all the things,
Starting point is 00:22:44 bending me like a pretzel, putting all the thing on me. Then she does the thing where she gets onto the table. I go, here it comes. But she doesn't walk on me. She just, and as she gets on the table,
Starting point is 00:22:53 the whole table, I hear the table going, help! Like it was the table, you're creaking and all this stuff happens. Those tables aren't very sturdy either. Like, even a regular person getting on one, you feel like it rocking.
Starting point is 00:23:04 I feel it buckling. I feel it buckling. And then she does a bunch of other stuff. Arm, fist, starts punching my foot, doing that whole thing, punching the foot. Bunch of weird stuff where I feel like they just kind of make it up on the fly. Did she do that thing where she, like, J-O's your foot? Yeah, yeah. She did the J-O of the foot, which was kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:23:20 But I was like, a little low, a little low. That one is, I feel like, a little strange. And then a couple of this was just punching, punching. Like, she was almost like Rocky training for the big fight. Cool. Going speed bagging on the bottom of my foot. This is an endorsement for me. I want to go to this place.
Starting point is 00:23:33 And then I go, this must be the time. In my head, I go, it's been at least an hour. I got to get out of here. And then she comes up and I go, here she gets down to my ear to whisper something. And I go, this is when she's going to ask him if she can walk on me. And I have to say no in a gentle way. Can I kill you? Finish him.
Starting point is 00:23:51 So I have to think in a gentle way. How can I say no to this? And she goes, that's your time. Thank you. Oh. And I go, oh, she didn't walk on me at all. So when I leave, I go out and I say, hey, check your ass. Last time I was here, they walked on me.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Why don't they walk on me? She goes, oh, Minnie doesn't walk on you. Minnie? And her name was, which is the funniest thing ever. She must have gotten that nickname. It's like a bouncer named Tiny, right? Yeah. Same thing.
Starting point is 00:24:16 So they go, yeah, Minnie doesn't walk on people anymore. And I go, oh. Not after the Ventura Massacre of 85. So I'm so intrigued as to what happened at what point where Minnie, like, walked on someone and that was the game over. It was like a food challenge where it's like if you're going to get Minnie to walk on you, you get your massage for free. So, Allie, I got to send you, I don't know. Did you get an I Survived Minnie shirt? They didn't sell those at the gift shop.
Starting point is 00:24:43 But are you allowed, you're pregnant now, so you can't do that? I can do massages, but they're like foofy, crappy massages. I want to send someone in there to request the Minnie and see what goes on. Because I'm telling you, I am not, like, I know you're thinking, oh, you must feel great afterwards. I was so scared the whole time that I'm, like, really stressed, more stressed from it. Do you feel, though, that you, I mean, all right. No, no, not relaxed at all. No benefit?
Starting point is 00:25:06 No, no benefit. No drainage. Well, this is a benefit, us talking about this now. That's the benefit now. That may have worth the money for me. Almost worth the $73 plus tip, right? All right, let's get into your ADD news. And then a brand new hour of the show can officially begin.
Starting point is 00:25:19 That'll be an hour complete with some Generation Wars and tickets for you if you're into that sort of thing. I quickly wanted to welcome another slogger into the fold, Allie. Hey, guys. I am a three-year slogger, and the only reason I'm not a four-year slogger is because my mom didn't let me listen to you guys because you guys were inappropriate, which I don't agree with. Anyway, sweet divots, and bye. That's a child who is now a three-year slogger, claims he'd be slogging for longer, but his mom found the show to be inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:25:47 So there's a lot of discussion on the GOAT line about what makes a real slogger, and there's reasons why, and we'll get into all of that coming up a little bit later. Right now, though, we have your news. Grab your Adderall. It's time for ADD News. Klein and Johnny have already lost money betting on the NFL, but that will not stop you, I'm sure, from losing more money because there's still plenty of money to be lost this NFL season, and not just in the NFL, in all of sports betting.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Not only are these prediction market betting apps doing well, they're now doing so well that they're getting Sidney Sweeney money. The sports betting app Novig was able to get Sidney Sweeney naked on a basketball hoop in their new ad, and it shows her in various naked positions being covered up only by balls, soccer balls, footballs, etc. And she, if you ask her, said the campaign was just about embracing a fun idea. You call money. Two fun ones.
Starting point is 00:26:44 That's a fun idea. That's a fun idea, right. It's money and boobs. Think you know sports? Prove it. Novick is just sports. So they wanted to show just sports. You can trade this sport and this sport.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Oh, man. How about this? Or this? Yeah, baby! Sports. Sports. Sports. Sports.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Sports. Sports. Sports. No betting on wars or deaths And no politics Just you Your takes On sports
Starting point is 00:27:24 Sports I didn't like sports before But I love sports now It's tough because it's so ridiculous But it works I mean I watched the whole thing I was like oh my god Also it just shows how
Starting point is 00:27:41 She's not good at acting guys But her film career, all of that is irrelevant at this point. I can't understand what she's saying most of the time. She's saying sports. Yes, that I understand. But she also says there's no betting on deaths or wars or politics. It's only focusing on sports. There's a lot of these other apps.
Starting point is 00:27:59 You can bet on a million different things. Yeah, and they're saying just focus on predictive. I get what she's at. But who cares? I'm not even going to bet on that thing. I'm just going to watch the commercial a thousand times. I mean, some of it is just so over the top. And then you've got to be thinking that her boyfriend is watching that going, like, I'm banging that.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Of course. How great is it that I'm banging that? Whose house, right? Ram's house. That's right, Vanessa. That's sports. You know it. Squaw, squaw, the Seahawks won.
Starting point is 00:28:26 A lot of people squawing all over the GOAT line about the big win for the Seahawks. And Johnny lost his first big bet ever. I'd like for us to recreate this commercial. Well, Allie, you're the only one. Let me think here. your boobs got bigger because you're pregnant so you're probably I don't think anyone wants to see it
Starting point is 00:28:44 but if you remember that panty hall video you did, no one wanted to see it because they were turned on by it, everyone liked to watch it in the same way you like to look at a car accident so you could be like the car accident version of this and now here's me on a pool table it just broke
Starting point is 00:29:02 Allie will just say jorts Jorts. Muse has lost their social media handles to AI. It's pretty ironic given what Muse stands for. One fan pointed out that Muse has gone from making dystopian rock albums warning us about the machine takeover to being taken over by machines. So it's interesting because their Twitter and Instagram has gone from Muse to Muse the band or Muse band because Meta's new AI tool is also called Muse.
Starting point is 00:29:32 And Mark Zuckerberg is such a dick for doing this because, you know, full well that Muse is a band and that that already is a brand that exists. And you've chosen to be like, no, my that's what I want to do. It's more important. So there's no information online on whether or not money has exchanged hands. There's been no confirmation either way. So a lot of Muse fans are going, if you took this money, that's so messed up. But then other people are going, if you took this for no money, that's also so messed up. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:02 So regardless, it's kind of ironic. K-Rock band the Lumineers has been in an ongoing battle between social handles with Lumineers, that dental thing that people get done. And we talked to them about that. And they say it's really, I think that was a website situation where they had the website Lumineers.com and then the place that does that, I don't know if it's teeth whitening or teeth straightening or whatever, but they're like, hold on one second. And then they got into a big fight about who could own Lumineers.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Yeah, but then I guess it's just which one came first, right? Who came first. But in this particular case, Muse, the band. Came first. Right, had Muse first. And that's the rules. That's the rules with Facebook and Instagram and every social media handle. If you grab the handle, it's yours.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Right. Someone can't just take it and be like, I want that now. They must have gotten a, I mean, that's the thing. They must have gotten money. Attempting offer, whatever that offer was. Maybe it was money. Maybe it was something else. I mean, Matt Bellamy is getting divorced.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Right. Maybe there's some money to be had there. Did you know that your phone case or lack of one could be affecting your image at work? Consultants are saying that your phone has now essentially become another workplace accessory that people can judge you on, like your shoes or your watch or your bag. And because people are constantly holding their phones in meetings and at networking events, the case or lack of case can contribute to a lot of the judgments people make about you. For example, if you've got a sleek, clean, durable case look, it shows that you're organized, responsible and detail oriented. If you've got a clear and simple case, it means that you're just a practical, understated professional. If you have one of those giant heavy duty wallet strap cases, it means that you're no nonsense and you have functionality over status.
Starting point is 00:31:44 And then the no case shows that you have swagger, confidence, status going, hey, I don't care if my phone breaks. I don't care if I have a case or not. I'm going to risk it. I'm going to live life on the edge. What does this case say to you? I'm a mess. My case is hanging on by a thread right now. I'm a true mess.
Starting point is 00:32:03 What is that, leather? No, I think it's some sort of pleather, but it's falling apart. As you can see, it's shredded, and then the Klein Alley Show sticker on the bottom is pretty faded as well. I'm not organized on time, but I'm incredibly creative, and I have ADHD. All right. Well, then that is spot on. By the way, someone wanted to point out, if we try to recreate that Sidney Sweeney commercial, 949 says, a basketball rim won't support Allie.
Starting point is 00:32:26 So, thank you for pointing that out. Probably I could only reach one of those kid ones. Yeah, it'd be like one of those Shaquille O'Neal dunks where it just shatters into a million pieces. We get into a brand new hour of the show right now. Here we go. This is the world famous K-Rock. All right, football is back, baby. Good morning and welcome to your K-Rock.
Starting point is 00:32:44 We are a fine Allie show. Nice to meet you. If you're wondering, and maybe you're a new listener so you don't know this, Well, you just didn't listen yesterday. We now have different NFL teams that we are forced to support this season. A little forced fandom. Allie is riding with them Cardinals of Arizona all season long. I've got to get my Cardinals merch.
Starting point is 00:33:01 You know, I think my sister has become kind of an unofficial Cardinals fan, so I was going to reach out to her. Allie's hot sister. If anyone can turn that team around, it's Allie's hot sister. Well, people on the text line are excited. 714 is a Commander slash Redskins fan and is very happy that Omar's bringing the old name back. They said keep it going.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Meanwhile, 818 said, I'm just hearing about your NFL teams, and I have to chime in because I'm a day one Packers fan, and I would like to trade Jake. We don't want that whiny bitch on our squad. Oh, yeah. I'm going to have to cheese it. Too bad. Yeah, Jake's wearing his cheese head today.
Starting point is 00:33:32 He's a full-blown Packers fan now. Well, put it on. He's going to put his hat back on right there. Even that giant brick of cheese doesn't cover up Jake's stank. And then, of course, you know, Vanessa's riding hard with the Rams. Who's house? Rams house. She's excited.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Got herself a hat. Johnny's going to be a Broncos fan, a forced Broncos fan. Johnny, you've actually been invited. This was an AI invitation that was on the GOAT line, but I think it's a real event that's happening. However, my name is Sonny at Sonny the Golden Delight, and I am the vice president. Yes, I'm a dog of it. Broncos underscore country underscore Hollywood Instagram. So this guy runs the Bronco, the local Broncos fan page for local Broncos fans that live in Southern California.
Starting point is 00:34:12 I'm messaging you in regards of your forced fans drawing. I would like to invite Mr. Postmaster Johnny and Broncos fan Brandon to our Broncos bar in Hollywood on Monday at 5 p.m. as we have our season opener against those pesky Chiefs. So you've been invited to the big Broncos season opener. And now that you're a Force Broncos fan, you should probably attend that, I think. Johnny, you gotta go. And I thought about it, too. Yesterday, I was like, wait, I drive a Ford Bronco.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Yeah. And my team is the Broncos. So I was like, ah. Sounds like a real idiot thought right there. Bronco, Bronco, we belong together. Well, Johnny also pointed out yesterday he doesn't really have a team. I don't have a team. I'm undeclared.
Starting point is 00:34:52 And also, too, the Broncos aren't that bad. I mean, their jerseys are like orange and blue. And they got good jersey colors. Yeah, you look good in orange and blue. This guy's got an interesting take on what you should do with the remainder of your money. I know that, sadly, your first bet of the season didn't go well. Johnny did not give me all of his money to gamble. He only put $100 on my decision.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Out of the $600 that he was originally going to give me. Yeah, $600. He gave me $100. I was telling him he was looking great. and I still think that was a great bet. I know it didn't pay out for you and New England ended up doing some stupid things at the end of the game,
Starting point is 00:35:18 but I still think it was a good bet. This guy's got a good plan for the other $500. Hi, hi, morning crew. So I'm catching up on today's episode and I had to pause on YouTube so I can call in for this. Johnny came in to some sweet, sweet cash and you guys just got drafted new NFL teams.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Johnny, here's something you can do with that money. On Fanatics, thanks to their partnership with the WWE, they sell championship belts for every NFL team. And what better way to support your fandom, your hardcore, newly established fandom, than buying a championship with money you never had before. You get to walk in the studio with a championship belt, Johnny. Do it. Do it. Blow that money. Blow it, Johnny.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Blow it. No one blows it better than Johnny. So this guy has the chance. He says you go buy one of them WWE championship belts. Just walk around like this. Yeah, they got the Broncos logo on it. That'll make you the most annoying fan in the building. Arms up.
Starting point is 00:36:24 Anyway, we all have new teams that we're supporting, and we're really excited for this NFL season. So we have that. We'll get into some clickbait as we solve the Internet's biggest riddles next on KROQ. Well, apparently we are disgusting. And I'm not just talking about the people in this room, but I'm talking about us as citizens of planet Earth. And bartenders have weighed in on the grossest things that they watch us do when we're at bars.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Oh. And now there is something that apparently they claim is happening a lot, and it makes us disgusting. And according to bartenders, this is the absolute grossest thing we do when we go to bars. It's time for Clickbait. Here we go. All right. We go to the champion of the gross song, Allie, the first guest. You are the grossest on the show.
Starting point is 00:37:09 We proved that. I am. I recently worked out with no underwear on. Oh, God. That was by choice. Why did you do that by choice? No, actually, I'd gone to the gym and I forgot underwear. I was like, well, that sucks. Monster!
Starting point is 00:37:22 I'm with that guy. So what is the grossest thing that we do at bars, according to bartenders that have weighed in on the grossest human behavior that they witness on a regular basis at bars? Oh, God. I guess I'm just going to go with something simple, which is drinking other people's drinks. Hey, can I have a sip of your drink?
Starting point is 00:37:43 Try this, try this. Setting something down, not watching what's been touching your glass, picking it up, drinking it again. Maybe a stranger rushes out. They put a half drink on the bar and someone just goes up and goes, I'll finish that.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Totally. Drink sharing. Drink sharing, Ali says, according to bartenders, is the grossest thing. Jake? Drinking light beer. It sucks.
Starting point is 00:38:04 He's a little jokey. He's a real man. He doesn't mess with light beers. Do you have a real answer? How about like grabbing a straw with your fingers or something and then sucking on the straw? That's not that gross. Grabbing a straw with your fingers? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:20 What else are you going to grab it with, tweezers? Well, you don't have to grab it at all. You can just use your mouth. What? I don't know what he's saying. How is his answer of light beer better? I don't know. It is better.
Starting point is 00:38:32 I don't know. His joke answer was somehow better than his real answer. And you thought this guy would know because he spends more time at bars than all of us. I mean, Jake, I don't understand what this question is about. I think this question is stupid anyway. I don't know anything gross. You're stupid. Jake.
Starting point is 00:38:48 It takes us so long to find these. Let me say something. So now I know who found this. So here's the thing about Jake. He knows more about bars than any of us, and he should know more about gross than any of us. This is like, this should be right in his sweet spot. If you look at the Venn diagram of Jake, gross and bars is you, Ben. Maybe they canceled each other out and he's just.
Starting point is 00:39:04 So you got no answer? I guess when you're one of those people, when you're the one doing the gross thing, you don't think it's gross, so you don't notice it. So maybe it's something Jake's doing. He doesn't realize it's gross. You know what? I've been moaning at people, Zamboni. Off the bar?
Starting point is 00:39:20 Yeah. And they suck the drink right off the bar? Yeah. I spilled a little of my drink there. I'll just go ahead and suck it off. Zamboni. All right, Omar, what's the answer? You know, I'm going to go with something along the lines of what Allie said,
Starting point is 00:39:32 But instead, like, you know, once you had a few and maybe you're running out of cash and you just see some randos half-eaten sandwich that he left, you take that sandwich and you eat it. What's wrong with that? Oh, man. This is the problem, is that Jake will defend these gross behaviors. It's a half-eaten sandwich that you touched. Oh, gross, dude.
Starting point is 00:39:49 You don't know that person. If it's half-eaten, it is touched. No, the other half. They're cutting half. One half untouched. You don't know why they didn't eat that half. Maybe something happened to that half. So they go, I'm not going to touch that half.
Starting point is 00:39:59 I'll risk it. Oh, man. All right, well, there's a lot of gross things we do at bars. And there's some things that made the list that are gross, like the people that stick their fingers in the garnish stuff. Oh, yeah, where they grab their own olives and stuff. They grab their own limes, lemons, olives. That's a thing that people like to grab, regular people, and we're gross.
Starting point is 00:40:22 Because they don't want to bother the bartender. They've also, I think, done enough research on that. If you go to a place that has a bowl of popcorn or peanuts on the bar, They've basically done research that have shown that I think 80% of that is urine at this point because people are just gross and touching it constantly. But they, according to the bartenders, the grossest thing that they see us do on a regular basis that they find, this doesn't bother me, but they say people will oftentimes take the gum out of their mouth that they're chewing and put it on the side of their glass. Oh, I've done that. Yep. And they find that to be disgusting because as they are clearing glasses constantly, they are dealing with-
Starting point is 00:40:56 Well, I would take it off. Well, a lot of people forget about it, and they say that it's one of the grossest things of their job now is having to deal with everyone's chewed gum that's sitting on the side of their glasses. Chewed gum, like once you take gum out of your mouth, it is an inconvenience to everything and everyone around it. It is just disgusting. But a close second on that list was taking straws with your mouth or fingers. I was going to say light beer. Whatever Jake said.
Starting point is 00:41:19 We've got to take a break. There's your clickbait. I fear better. Hey, we've got a Generation Wars in the future. I know we're going to be dealing with robots later today, So before we get you ready for the robot war that is brewing, their plan is to take us out in the next 10 years. We have a generation war. So let's go ahead and beat up each other before we beat up the robots.
Starting point is 00:41:35 If you are Gen X, Gen Z, Millennial, or Boomer and would like a chance to participate and win some tickets, plus bragging rights for your entire generation, call us right now at 800-520-1067. Generation Wars is next. Only one generation can be the best generation. Perhaps you believe it's when you were born or you're jealous because you were born 10 years too early or 10 years too late. Regardless, we like to prove each and every week which generation reigns supreme. It's time for Generation Wars. Coming off of a Gen X win, I believe.
Starting point is 00:42:19 And now here we are. Four new contestants representing the same four generations. I'm K-Rock, and you have a chance just by listening to yell answers into the air and root for your generation to go ahead and hold your head a little higher today in this round of Generation Wars. We say hi to Billy. Billy is a boomer. Billy the Boomer, born in 1964.
Starting point is 00:42:43 He gets mad when people enter his lawn, and that is a stereotype. But, Billy, you don't like it when people go on your lawn. Is that true? That's true. I've been pooping on there, and I deliver that right back to their home. So if someone poops on your lawn, you'll pick it up and bring it over to their place and leave it there? That's what I do. I love the passive aggressive.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Well, it's just regular aggressive, actually. I get it. Boomers like to protect their lawn, and that is important. Billy, if you know the answers to the questions, and some of these will be tailored towards you and your boomer ways, please make sure to answer by yelling out, boomer, wait for Allie to call on you, and then you get a chance to lock in. We go back in time now as we say hi to our Gen X, born in 1974. This is Andrew, who claims that he used to write all of his essays in cursive. Oh, man, I miss cursive.
Starting point is 00:43:29 I'm not even sure they teach anymore. Andrew, good morning. Welcome to KROQ. Good morning. You still using that cursive, or that's something that's kind of gone away? Oh, man, I hope I still remember. But, yeah, I mean, my 11-year-old daughter has no idea what that's like. Yeah, yeah, it's good.
Starting point is 00:43:46 You used to be able to spell in front of kids, like if you had to say something like, you know, Let's have SCX, they wouldn't know what you were talking about. But now if you need to go ahead and get secret messages, just write them in cursive. Just write them in cursive, no one will know. They won't know. Weirdly. Gen X code. Yep, Gen X code.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Yeah, it is Gen X code. Matthew from, oh no, let's say hi to Miriam. She is a millennial, born in 1982, who is a big fan of sipping on matchas. Hello Miriam, welcome to KROQ. Hello, thank you. You will be representing all millennials. Millennials are a very loud, very proud generation. and they're rooting for you, so please do them justice.
Starting point is 00:44:23 And we say hi to Matthew from Gen Z, who was born in 2006, and he loves ripping packs of cards. He's a ripper, just like me. Matthew, what do you rip? Good morning. Matthew, cool. You like ripping? You ripping Pokemon or you ripping, like, real sports cards?
Starting point is 00:44:40 Sports cards. Sports cards all day. Nice. Love it. How much money do you think you've spent buying sports cards? This year, probably like 500. Oh, that's not much. What's your biggest pull?
Starting point is 00:44:54 Did you get a Cooper flag rookie or something? No, some angel autograph card. Oh, that's too bad. All right, here we go. Let's get into it, guys. This is our crop of contestants. It's Generation Wars. Hands on your buzzer.
Starting point is 00:45:09 And here we go. If someone describes someone as fat, as in P-H-A-T, what does that actually stand for? Oh, God. I think that was millennial first. Millennial? Super cool. Now, the question is, what does fat, P-H-A-T, stand for? Gen X, you were next to lock in.
Starting point is 00:45:34 Sweet. Good looking. Beautiful. No. Come on. What does it stand for? Fat, P-H-A-T. Gen Z?
Starting point is 00:45:43 Yes, Gen Z. They got a big butt. All right. That is a good guess as well, and that would be used potentially to describe someone with a big ass. But the words we're looking for, Boomer, you want to take a shot at this? They're fat. They didn't lose weight. Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Jesus. We're just actually fat. We spelled it different. They're so fat, we need to add more letters. Pretty hot and tempting. Pretty hot and tempting is the actual acronym for fat. We move on to your next question, Generation Wars. Score is 0-0-0-0.
Starting point is 00:46:16 In the Matrix, what color pill does Neo take? X. I heard X, Gen X. He takes the red pill. That is correct. Here we go. On the board. And we go to your next question right now.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Generation Wars. If you were renting a video from a video rental store, you had the opportunity to rent in two different formats. One was VHS. What was the other one? Gen X. Yes, Gen X. Gen X?
Starting point is 00:46:51 Yes, Gen X. HD. No. Millennial. Boomer. Millennial, you were next. DVD. No.
Starting point is 00:47:02 Boomer. Yes, Boomer. Beta? That is correct. Whoa. Beta. Ooh, yeah. Max.
Starting point is 00:47:10 VHS or Beta Max? Beta. That was the other one you could do. It was slightly smaller. No, VMS is bigger. I think it was smaller. It is smaller. I see them all the time at the VHS store I go to.
Starting point is 00:47:22 Jake, you're wrong again. Well, the boxes that come in were bigger. Oh, my God. You are. Can you just say you're wrong? That's what I mean. When you went to get rented, the boxes were way bigger. That's what I mean, is that the box is bigger?
Starting point is 00:47:33 Oh, Jesus Christ. You are a ridiculous human. All right, Allie, what's the score right now? That's also the truth. Boomer and Gen X are tied with one. Whose famous catchphrase was, I pity the fool? Uber. Gen X, I heard you first.
Starting point is 00:47:48 It's a T. Correct. We move on to your next question in Generation War. If someone said, gag me with a spoon, what are they actually saying? Millennial. Millennial? That's gross. That is a correct answer, Millennial.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Good job. Stealing slang from a totally different generation. It's you, Miriam. Congratulations. On the board. What is Jane Fonda known for? Boomer. Millennial.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Boomer. Exercise videos. That is correct. Yeah, I'm sure you watched them. Boomer. We move on to your next question. It's Generation Wars right now. Boomer and Gen X now tie, but two apiece.
Starting point is 00:48:25 How could kids create a pretty crappy picture by turning knobs side to side? Boomer. Boomer. Go ahead. Etch a sketch. Correct. Boomer. In a few in a row, we move on to your next question now in Generation Wars.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Very exciting. Those things were so ridiculous. They suck. But for some reason, we kept buying them. They still sell for some reason now. I mean, I still see those things for sale. Because one person is like, I bet I can draw a good picture. If someone were to send you a request on the Be Real app,
Starting point is 00:49:00 what did you have exactly two minutes to do back? Gen X. Yes, Gen X. Send a picture. More specific, Gen X. Send a message back. No, cannot accept that. Millennial.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Yes, Millennial. Send an ID? No. Gen Z. Yes, Gen Z. This is your question. You should get this. Your location?
Starting point is 00:49:27 No. Be Real was the app where you had to show them exactly what you look like in the moment. So it had to be an unfiltered, unedited picture. Of you in the exact second to show that you were not. This was a big thing that lasted for a month, and then everyone realized we're very ugly with that filter. We don't want to be real. We go to your next question right now. In Generation Wars, Allie, it's still pretty close, huh?
Starting point is 00:49:50 Yeah, it is. Well, Boomer's in the lead now with three points, followed by Gen X with two and Millennial with one. This is the next question now in Generation Wars. This three-word website would allow you to upload a picture of yourself and instantly have determination if you were attractive or ugly. Millennial. Yes, millennial. Hot or not.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Hot or not. It's a real throwback. Allie, how'd you score on hot or not? I don't think I ever put my picture on hot or not. Is it still there? I can upload it now. I think they took it down. I think there's too much bullying going on.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Which cigarette brand used the slogan, Alive with Pleasure? millennial yes millennial newport that is correct wow millennial good job newport now you're tied with boomer with three points always alive with pleasure there's only four three questions i don't think anyone's alive anymore that smoke no they're all dead with pleasure we go to your next question Man, Newport's were full. What store was famous for their blue light specials? Gen X.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Yes, Gen X. Kmart. That is correct. Nice job. Now we've got a three-way tie, Gen X, Millennial, and Boomer. Oh, my God, with two questions left. What athlete had the nickname Broadway Joe? Boomer.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Gen X. Joe Namath. That is the correct answer. All right, Gen X is now in the lead. But a lot of people on the text line are rooting for Billy the Boomer, finally doing well in a not-all-Boomer Gen Wars. Before Harry Styles was simply Harry Styles, he was a part of what group? Boomer.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Boomer. That was, I haven't, I mean, it's going to be... You didn't answer. Three, two, one. Having a senior moment. You know where you are, Billy? wants to steal this one. Go ahead. Who's up next?
Starting point is 00:51:59 Gen Z. Yes, Gen Z. One Direction. That is correct. One Direction. I can't believe that was not a unanimous. I'm surprised by that. I was really impressed that Boomer was going to pull that one because that is not a Boomer question. I was going to say One Republic. I had it wrong. I thought Boomer
Starting point is 00:52:14 was going to say The Four Seasons. All right, Allie. At the end of it all, where are we at? Do we have a winner? Yes, we do. Gen X Andrew Andrew, with four points, has won this Generation Wars. Well, Miriam, you put in a good effort right there. Matthew from Gen Z, it was nice to meet you. Billy the Boomer, one of the strongest Boomer contestants we've had in a long time, and congratulations.
Starting point is 00:52:35 But it all comes down to Andrew, who was able to get an X before anyone else. Born in 1974, his cursive is going to be written a little bit crisper today with the victory in Generation Wars. And of all of the songs we play on K-Rock, what song can we play for you right now for your entire generation? Go ahead, Andrew. Your request will go on the airwaves right now. Oh, man. Black by Pearl Jam. That's a great pick.
Starting point is 00:53:01 Good pick. I saw Pearl Jam opening up the NFL season last night on some electric guitar. It was pretty impressive to see Pearl Jam out there in Seattle. It wasn't Pearl Jam. It was Mike McCready by himself. Yeah, Rod. That was also kind of like a wild... Thank you, Jake.
Starting point is 00:53:18 I know who it was because I watched it. Oh, really? That's why you say Pearl Jam? Yes, because it said on... Remember a Pearl Jam? And they actually introduced him on TV by saying, and now Pearl Jam is going to play the... The one you named the band that actually did play.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Oh, God, Jake. Jake, are you upset about Betamax still? You mean Soundgarden? You mean you want to see Soundgarden? You have to throw a little hissy fit about it. Those are bigger boxes. Okay. Here's your song, sir.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Thanks, Jack. Self-aware, Jake. Look into it. It's K-Rock. We are Klein Alley Show. If you need us, 800-520-1067. In about 20 minutes, we get you into the opening night of Not Scary Farm. Tickets for that. Also, I should mention, the guy who just won Generation Wars, not only bragging rights for his entire generation and a song of his choosing,
Starting point is 00:54:01 but we're going to give him six tickets to the Sandsport Super Show at the OC Fair and Events Center, happening September 18th through the 20th. So we just keep giving and giving and giving. As you know, I made a fool out of myself a couple weeks ago when I... Be more specific, please. Well, at a Costco, there was an impulse buy that I made that I soon regretted because I got home and realized it wasn't what I thought it was. And I know you can relate to that because you bought a lot of things that you thought were one thing, like, for example, an ice cream cake, and then you cut into it and realized it was just a regular cake. Honest mistake.
Starting point is 00:54:31 That's more than an honest mistake. That is called sabotage because it was in a freezer that said ice cream cakes. Buying, say, for example, five-hour energy that you thought was for sleep. That was an accident. purple. And you're upset with the makers of it because they made it look like something that it wasn't. And the hotel gift shop that I bought it in, it
Starting point is 00:54:52 was placed by other sleep aid products. It wasn't just... The bottle says energy, man. I understand what you guys are saying. And yes, I see why you make it. Do you? Do you? No. I understand why. I promise you whoever put that on display at the hotel gift shop where I bought it thought
Starting point is 00:55:08 that it was for sleep. Regardless, I went to Costco, saw a box that had Spider-Man on it. It looked exactly like Legos. This is so dumber than anything I did. And it was not Legos when I got home. Because it didn't say Lego anywhere. It said Marvel, and it looked
Starting point is 00:55:24 exactly in the same font as then they say the Lego amount of pieces. All that font that's in the lower right-hand corner looked exactly like every single Legos box. They made it look misleading on purpose because no one would purposely buy a cardboard 3D puzzle of Spider-Man.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Which I then had to put together for hours. Yeah, you bought it and you didn't return it, even though you said you were going to. No, I already had opened it and then I realized there was a bunch of sheets of cardboard and not actual Legos. And I had to explain to my kid that I bought the wrong thing. And your kid likes Legos. And when kids like Legos, they don't want knockoffs. They want Legos. They don't want cardboard.
Starting point is 00:56:00 I tried to explain that it's a different kind of Lego. It's a really cool type of Legos that no one else gets. Did he even buy that or no? VIP Legos? Yeah. Flat Legos. You have to make it to cardboard pieces. Imagine if these were one-dimensional.
Starting point is 00:56:16 How cool is that? I mean, even with regular Legos, when you put them together, you can play with it. Like, he wants to play with Spider-Man. This is a cardboard puzzle. You can't play with it. No. I mean, you tap it and it falls over. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:56:27 You can't do anything with it. That does sound fun. So, in the mail, in the office yesterday, I receive a package. And I open it up. And lo and behold, some incredible listener has sent me a box of actual Spider-Man Legos, the real Spider-Man Lego set that I intended to buy in the first place. The thing you thought. The one that's like $100 or something?
Starting point is 00:56:47 Yeah, because the one that I bought was $30. This is why I would go. And it was like 1,300 pieces, and I was like, wow, what a great deal. You got so blinded by the deal that you completely lost track of the fact that you weren't buying Legos at all. Yeah, the actual one was $99. You bought a puzzle, which sucks. But I put it together by myself. So someone sent you the real thing here.
Starting point is 00:57:07 So I decided to give it to my kid. And the reaction, by the way, I'm telling him there's a surprise coming. He's very excited. And I even remind him about the original Spider-Man puzzle and just watch this kid lose all excitement when I remind him about the Costco puzzle. Okay, Wesley. So someone that listens to Mommy's radio show knows that you like Spider-Man. And do you remember when I got you the Spider-Man from Costco?
Starting point is 00:57:34 You know that one? Worst day ever. He almost starts crying. I know, by the way. And Omar has seen the video. He looks so happy when I mention someone knows you like Spider-Man. I mean, his mouth is open. He's nodding his head.
Starting point is 00:57:47 He knows that a big thing's coming. And then I mention the Spider-Man from Costco puzzle, and he just goes back to confusion. For his life, that was his 9-11. The time that Allie brought home the cardboard puzzle Spider-Man. I don't think he knew what true disappointment was until that moment. How it was like Legos, but it was a different kind of Legos. How did you feel when you opened the box and it wasn't Legos? Silly.
Starting point is 00:58:11 You felt silly? Mommy made a silly mistake. So, this person... Oh, man, your wife. I like how she's throwing you under the bus right there. She's a bitch. Wow, that's crazy. How did you feel about that, therapist?
Starting point is 00:58:25 Oh, mommy made a silly mistake. Like, what a dumb bitch. Silly. I felt silly. I felt like a loser. Man, she really didn't throw you. I mean, she didn't say, oh, that was great. No.
Starting point is 00:58:36 That's an insight of that marriage. I know, right? All of the subtext. What's stronger, that cardboard Spider-Man or the strength of your marriage right now? I think they're both one ply at this point. So, this person who listens to my radio show thought that you should have this. Whoa! That is real.
Starting point is 00:59:02 That's not that bootleg knockoff crown you bought. That's the real one. This is real Lego. And it's part of Thanks Lego. Yep, so they got it because they knew you would like that. Can you tell them thank you? Thank you. I think there's a hundred pieces.
Starting point is 00:59:22 There's actually 800 pieces. Oh, yeah. It's a big one. How many ones do you need to get to 800? Oh, Jesus. No one knows that. He said 100. He's a smart kid.
Starting point is 00:59:33 She's asking impossible questions. That wasn't a kid, man. God. Yeah, don't ruin his good time. Nothing worse than that. I know. She's testing him. Well, he started school, so now she's asking him all these stupid questions all the time.
Starting point is 00:59:44 Let the kid be a kid. I'm glad he finally got what he wanted and not that trash. It's so funny that he knows the difference between that fake thing you brought him and the real one, the good stuff. It's crazy that a four-year-old can tell the difference between a Lego box and not a real Lego box. Hey, Napoleon, you're on KROQ. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Hi. Hey, I'm just saying that you can always return that even though you built it. It can only be six months. The Costco returning policy is retarded, so anytime, even a year from now or two years from now. That's actually in the bylaw. Should I say that when I bring it in?
Starting point is 01:00:15 Yeah, that word is actually written on the... Yeah, you don't need your receipt. All you need is your Costco card. Just say, Napoleon said the policy is retarded, so I can use it. Yeah, I think you should agree on that line. No. The line of sad returners holding your fully put together Spider-Man thing. And what was wrong with it?
Starting point is 01:00:32 I thought it was Legos. Well, I built it. You can look and see what's wrong with it. We take a break. We're back in a moment. We have news to get to. And then, those tickets you've been waiting for. Opening night, Not Scary Farm after this.
Starting point is 01:00:43 It's KROQ. We are Klein Alley Show. Hello, sloggers and hello, netbangers watching along on YouTube right now. We were streaming live right there. I forgot to mention that this morning, but you can go ahead and see the show. What it looks like visually and exactly how large is Allie getting. We demanded the return of Fat Allie. We said make Allie fat again.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Maffa. People were chanting it in the streets, and our wishes have become a reality. If you'd like to be scared so much that you have to change your pants, I hope you're listening the second we're done with the ADD News because we'll get you four tickets to opening night of Not Scary Farm. And here's something you can look forward to right there as you go through the horrifying mazes. Here we are. First bike ride.
Starting point is 01:01:25 How scary does that sound? Just imagine that, huh? Oh, I can. That was Allie actually falling off her bike because she saw a man and got scared. I freaked out because I didn't want to hit him. So if you thought that was scary, trust me when I say Not Scary Farm will be much scarier. We get you in a second. We're done with this.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Grab your Adderall. It's time for ADD News. You know, I don't know how excited someone can get for a museum opening, but when it comes to the Lucas Museum in Southern California, it is a highly anticipated opening. It's opening later this month on the 22nd. If you drive by it, it looks like a giant pair of UFOs crashed into each other. It looks pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:02:07 The not cool part of this is that the museum is already being sued before it even opens. The contractor is apparently suing the Lucas Museum for $1.9 billion. Oh, baby. Claiming that he wasn't paid for some of the work that he did. And apparently at the center of this lawsuit is that the museum has this weird deal for the land where they have a 99-year lease that costs $30 a year. What a steal. Especially in Southern California where land and leasing is a very difficult process. So the fact that they have a 99-year lease for $30 a year, I guess this contractor thinks that that deal qualifies them into a different category and that this guy is owed way more money because of that.
Starting point is 01:02:50 And they're saying, no, this is all fair and square. It is a $1 billion museum that's still set to open in a couple of weeks. And currently, we don't know if it will open because of this. No, it will, but they're still going through this big lawsuit. But I don't think that they're going to win. $1.9 billion lawsuit, I feel like, is just something you make up. It was like that Facebook lawsuit where it's like, give us $7 trillion. Okay, fine.
Starting point is 01:03:13 We'll take a few billion. They'll settle because no one likes to go to court. Well, they won't. And they'll just fight it. And so the lawyers will get rich. It's like when you put something on an offer up that you think you can get more money out of. You're like, $5,000 for this armoire. And they're like, I'll give you $20.
Starting point is 01:03:27 And you're like, all right, fine. I'll pick it up. I'll give you nothing. But I'll pick it up today. All right, fine. Take it. By the way, I still have a couch. Somebody can pick up a couch for free.
Starting point is 01:03:35 You want a couch. She has been trying. I tried to give this to Jake the other day. He passed, and Jake loves... He only passed because he can't fit it. Yeah, but he said it could be an outside couch. He could put it right outside the shack. Do you want an outside couch?
Starting point is 01:03:47 No, I'm good. He just doesn't want to do it because it's a long drive. No, it's because it was yours, he said. I've been getting ghosted by so many people. Hi, I'm very interested. When can I pick it up? And then I respond, and then nothing. You don't realize, but a lot of those have been me pranking you.
Starting point is 01:04:03 I have a lot of back and forth with Allie, and she's pretty desperate to get rid of this couch. Were you Norman? Yes, I was. He was very interested. That was me, too. So, it's interesting the time we're living in now because we're in an age where flip phones are making a comeback and landline phones are making a comeback, even though we are in the future and AI is about to take over. So, flip phones are being announced and kids want old school telephones for their birthdays, just like Klein's daughter.
Starting point is 01:04:28 And now old school rotary phones are also making their way onto college campuses to make kids feel more comfortable with the transition to college. And the University of Colorado Boulder knows it can be tough. So just look at what they did. Hey, this is mom. Hey, Roya, this is your dad. Hi, Ellie. We're so excited for you. Setting up an old rotary phone and asking parents to leave a message on move-in day. Kate, Mom, I'm already crying.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I'm so proud of you, honey. The best is yet to come. And just, you have the rest of your life ahead of you. Parents recording those messages. Those kids are all so high right now by the time they got those messages. Especially at the University of Boulder. I can't believe any of the students found this phone. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Well, I think the parents are the ones that use the rotary phone. Yes, I know. But then they can pick it up and listen to the messages and things like that. Or I guess maybe they can get them delivered a different way. But on move-in day, the parents are supposed to leave these cool voicemails for the kids. And I imagine by now, these kids are so happy that their parents are gone. I think they assume. You stupid assholes.
Starting point is 01:05:32 Thank you, kids. Thanks for the voicemail. Thanks for the voicemail. I love children knowing. Anya Goldberg, this is your mom. I love you so much. It's move-in day, and we're getting one more bag from the back of the car. You're up there with a drill, putting your furniture together.
Starting point is 01:05:48 No, you're smoking weed. I mean, it's like such a typical mom message, giving every detail. You're upstairs with a drill, building furniture. I love that you stop to be like, it's mom. Right. Sincerely, mom. Wait, did I say that on the phone? And dad and I could not be more proud of you today.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Each message you need. I mean, they're not at Harvard. They're at University of Colorado Boulder. Let's calm down for a second. I'm proud of you for making it to Boulder. Right. Most people can make it there. No problem.
Starting point is 01:06:12 Well, each beaming with pride, each filled with love. Hi, Caitlin. It's mom. Oh, Jesus. Everyone's saying. We all know. We know it's you, Mom. Yes, Caitlin, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:06:26 All right. If you listened to yesterday's Show Overtime podcast, we were discussing. Oh, never mind. I just talked about this. I'm an idiot. You know, this transitions perfectly into my next story. If you lose your train of thought in the middle of a sentence. What is happening with you?
Starting point is 01:06:48 Do you think that something is wrong with you? They did a study about this. By the way, I just want to applaud everyone on the show that no one, no one jumped in to help you. And I think that means we're doing our job right. Because we all saw you sitting there lost. I was like, where am I? What's happening? No one decided to help out, and that's exactly how things are around here.
Starting point is 01:07:06 No, I wouldn't have it any other way. So word finding difficulty is a very familiar cognitive complaint that people have. And it's something that Vanessa has a lot after the show when she's explaining some things that she would like to update us on after the show. She usually starts telling us something, and then she stops halfway through, and we're left to kind of put the pieces together, right? I don't even know whose house it is. Ryan's house. Well, now I know. She got through that one.
Starting point is 01:07:32 It's a two-word sentence. Sure did. So they studied a bunch of adults, and they figured out that how long people pause to find words does not necessarily mean that you have a problem, that you're in early onset dementia, or that you're dumb, or anything like that. Everyone is just at different speeds. For example, you speak very quickly, Klein. Yeah, because I'm smarter than you and I have a bigger brain. That's literally saying the opposite. Well, they're wrong.
Starting point is 01:07:57 matter. But if you are a fast talker and you don't pause a lot between speech and then eventually it starts to dwindle and you can't find the words and you do have the pauses, that is the problem. So once a slow talker, always a slow talker, that's fine. But if you were fast, then you go slow.
Starting point is 01:08:13 Exactly. You're in trouble. You're in trouble. Obama was good at being a slow talker, but he did a good job of making you... It was so intentional though. Well, yeah, at least you believed that everything he was saying was like very epic sounding because of the way, the cadence in which he would speak. But it was actually, I wish I could master that
Starting point is 01:08:29 because it gives you a lot of time to come up with something better to say than what you were probably going to say. Yeah. I speak too fast. I don't think about the words that are coming out of my mouth. Clearly. Right. And then I say them and then I go, I probably shouldn't have said that. I do think about them and then still it's bad. Oh, jeez. You should think harder. Something the worst of both worlds. Call 20 right
Starting point is 01:08:45 now. Let's get you into opening night of Not Scary Farm. If you call us at this exact moment, 805-20-1067. Let me speed that up for you. 805-20-1067. Let's go. This is The world famous K-Rock. All right.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Welcome to your K-Rock on a Thursday morning. The pre-quin is officially upon us. It's been hot, man, yesterday. It's too much. My car said 109. It could not have been 109 in the valley yesterday. But someone else, I think I saw Print Guru posted his car said 114. And it felt, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:09:21 It felt like it was the center of the sun everywhere. It felt just, that East Coast humidity crap, which I don't miss at all, that's what I was feeling yesterday, and poof, it sucked. And then some fire busted out by the Getty, and it was blowing the smoke, so all of a sudden it's just hot, humid smoke. I took my dog for a walk at one point, and I felt like I was picking him up, walking, you know, because I was like, ah, it's probably too hot for his feet to touch the ground. So I was just picking him up, putting him down on someone's, you know, and I think people get really mad. Poop on someone's yard. Yeah, when you place. I don't think they get less mad when it just seems organically the dog has picked their yard.
Starting point is 01:09:57 When you pick their yard. Yeah, when I'm the guy deciding this is going to be your spot and I place him down there, I think that there's a little bit more anger. What did I ever do to you, man? So you don't choose to walk your dog later when it's not so hot out? Usually that would be the case, but I kept waiting for it to get less hot. It just didn't feel like it was getting less hot. Even this morning, I got in my car at 4 in the morning.
Starting point is 01:10:15 It said it was 80. Just sticky. I slept like crap last night. It was just hot and gross. Apparently this is the end. The end of the end of the heat of the heat waves. Well, we'll find out if it's the end of days because we've got some very alarming news about AI and how all the people that know about AI claim that they are giving us about a decade before AI destroys humanity. So we will try to go ahead and figure out if us humans stand a chance in a little round of man versus machine, which we'll get to later this hour.
Starting point is 01:10:42 I'm K-Rock. Right now, though, we say good morning to Tatiana listening to us in Victorville. Hey, Tatiana. Hello. I will let you decide if what is scarier, Victorville or Not Scary Farm. The choice is yours. Victorville. Yeah, you're right. Victorville is probably scarier, but we will give you a night of relaxing calmness than at Not Scary Farm.
Starting point is 01:11:05 You'll be there for opening night, so congratulations. Four tickets will be yours. Amazing. Thank you guys so much. Thanks for listening to the show. And then when you really get scared, go back to Victorville. What that haunted maze looks like. It's just the streets.
Starting point is 01:11:19 It's 365 days open around the clock. We got lots to get into this hour, so go nowhere. Things will get good, we believe, starting momentarily. After we give you some white stripes on KROQ, we are Klein Alley Show. And someone here is wearing a lady shirt. That's not a lady. It's not Alley. It's not Vanessa.
Starting point is 01:11:40 And we'll get to the bottom of that next on KROQ. KROQ, Klein Alley Show. I did accidentally one time buy a pair of ladies' sweatpants. I thought they were weird, the way they fit. They looked great on you. I did wear them, and then I realized they were lady pants. And since then, Vanessa's worn them. They fit her.
Starting point is 01:11:57 I think Allie, did you wear them too? It was like Sisterhood of the Traveling Sweatpants. They all fit us. Yeah, they fit on all of us for some strange reason. But you could tell they were lady pants because the pockets weren't real. That was the way you could tell. When you try and put your hand in a pocket and realize it's a fake pocket, you know you're wearing lady pants.
Starting point is 01:12:11 But I think I did get them from the man section, so I once again confused. Not man, just man section? A man, that's where I showed up, in the man section. So I don't know, but it's happened before. It was accidental. I bought them, wore them once, realized they were lady pants, never wore them again. Jake, on the other hand, was at this Guns N' Roses show over the weekend, and apparently he bought a lady shirt that he knew was a lady shirt,
Starting point is 01:12:33 but he said he liked the fit of it better, and he said that he realized that he is an extra large lady instead of a medium man. And he would rather Allie is also an extra large lady. You can share the shirt. How do you feel that
Starting point is 01:12:51 Allie's culture is not your costume, Jake? It's not fair. Trivializing me. So this is like a white guy wearing a sombrero for Halloween. You can't just go around buying extra large lady clothes. Hello.
Starting point is 01:13:04 This is Allie's life. It's my heritage. I do extra large clothes and extra large hats. Now, can you model this shirt? Because it is interesting. You know, a lot of band T-shirts are merch. You can't tell much of a difference unless sometimes there's, like, a pink one with a V-neck.
Starting point is 01:13:17 And that's the one that's clearly for the women because we like V-necks and pink. That's what they assume. There's bedazzling involved. And usually I hate the ones that are just designated for women. But I want to know what is so ladylike about this shirt that's separate from a regular band shirt that you could have bought at the show. I guess it's, like, the sleeves mainly. The sleeves and the collar, it's like a blown-out collar, and then the sleeves are kind of like cropped. They're not exactly cut-off sleeves, but it's kind of like a half-sleeve thing.
Starting point is 01:13:46 Now, Jake claims that this would be not noticeable at all for the naked eye, like that this is the kind of thing that he would wear this in the streets, and no one would say, that guy is wearing a lady shirt. And then he walked in, and we said, that's definitely a lady shirt. So why don't you come in here. Okay. enter the k-rock studios right now and jake bought this by choice did they say are you sure you want to buy this this is for ladies now take a seat i know stand
Starting point is 01:14:19 stand a little in the back so the camera can get you it's weird because this is jake and his guns and roses lady shirt but the sleeves you can tell as ali said they're like tapered and they are are kind of diagonal and cut. Yeah. Like a guy's shirt, the sleeve would just kind of cut off straight across. This one has like a tapered diagonal fit to it. Yeah, Jake, you still feel like
Starting point is 01:14:44 you've seen yourself in the mirror in that shirt? It looks kind of like a muscle shirt. You think it looks like a muscle? Yeah, you know how you cut the sleeves off your shirt sometimes and it feels great. By muscles, do you mean boobs? Because it has room for boobs and maybe that's why you feel more comfortable in it.
Starting point is 01:15:00 Oh, that's why. It hides Jake's boobs. So that's why. I like it. I think it fits good. So you don't regret this purchase at all? Not at all. I told myself going up to the show that if I found a dark gray sleeveless shirt, I was
Starting point is 01:15:12 going to buy it. And then it happened to be a women's. And then, yeah, I'm an extra large lady. You're talking into the wrong microphone. I don't have headphones. I don't know. Yeah, well, that's... Oh, this one.
Starting point is 01:15:21 There you go. I'm an extra large lady. Now, unfortunately, we can hear you. In fact, go back to the other microphone. It doesn't matter. All right, I'm over here now. Oh, nice. so you you feel like you made the right purchase yeah like I said it was the universe telling me
Starting point is 01:15:33 that I needed a shirt and I was the universe telling you that yep and I feels great I like it did they ask you hey you are aware that this is a women's yep sure I am really well I asked and then I asked to try it on is I know you cannot try it on so you said I want that woman's shirt in an extra-large and they said that's well that's great cuz that's all we have left and I said awesome. That's the universe telling me again that I need this extra large women's shirt. Look, Jake and the woman who did your massage could both wear that shirt. Oh, man. I think Minnie does wear
Starting point is 01:16:04 that shirt. I think Minnie was wearing that during my massage. I literally almost bought this shirt too, so to Jake's defense, there was no signage or anything that said women's men's shirt. No, well, Jake claims there was. That's why he knew it was a woman's shirt. He says that he knew he bought a woman's shirt going into it.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Well, it looks very feminine because the sleeves are cut. That's the thing, the sleeves. And it's cropped. It's a cropped shirt too. It's cropped and the sleeves kind of go down farther so that most girls can kind of reveal a little bit of side boob. Oh, is that what it's for? No, it's side boob.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Yeah, it drapes. Oh, it's a window. Oh, got it. It doesn't drape that short. It's side boob. I feel like you look like you wash the shirt a lot and it's super loose because it's loose for the boobs, Jake.
Starting point is 01:16:43 You don't have boobs anymore. So that's why they built the shirt like that, for boobs. I feel great in it. I think you'd look better if we gave you a push-up bra. I feel great and empowered. Jake is now officially a cross-dress shirt. I think you're more roses than guns. I'd wear that shirt.
Starting point is 01:16:56 That's a good shirt. All right. See, Johnny would wear it. Yeah, I don't know if that's a compliment. Yeah, that's a good shirt, man. Then you know it's gay. Yeah, if you're saying gay, Lena would wear this shirt, too? All right.
Starting point is 01:17:06 Well, congratulations. So this show is very forward thinking. I know that we're breaking all sorts of stereotypes here. It is. It's beautiful. It's gender bending. I appreciate it. Well, anyway, Jake, enjoy your Guns N' Roses shirt.
Starting point is 01:17:16 Thank you. We support you. Yeah. All right, pretty lady. All right, there he goes. I wonder what your girl would think of this shirt. I wore it around there. She didn't say a word.
Starting point is 01:17:25 She didn't? The other problem is because it's kind of got all cropped up sleeve, you have even closer access to Jake's stinky pits. Right. It's really wafting. But maybe it airs them out a little more. I think your best friend would be a shirt that had longer sleeves. This cut is very similar than if I just cut the collar out of a shirt
Starting point is 01:17:42 and cut the sleeves off like a muscle shirt. It feels the same. Jake, how much do you want for the shirt? Nothing. You should have got one. Sucks to suck. I should have got one. What did you pay for that?
Starting point is 01:17:51 Like 50 bucks. Oh, man. Worth it. Worth every penny. $50? Holy crap, man. I know, I know. It's a legitimate Guns N' Roses shirt.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Yeah, Jake, really, it is crazy to think all of these stupid things you've wasted money on. This is a good investment. This may be dumber than that stupid shirt poster. I could sell it back to Joyner right now for $100, I bet. Yeah, is that a crazy price? That's like the normal price for merch at shows. Well, for usually a lady's shirt, I would think would be cheaper. The man lives in a shack.
Starting point is 01:18:18 Yeah. And now I live in a shirt. Jake Thatcher. I'm not sure how freaked out we all should be right now, but I did say a while ago, it was one of my famous quotes, Allie, robots, folks. Oh my gosh, that was years ago, and look what you know. I made a prediction as to what the future would potentially look like and what would be our ultimate demise. I know some people are concerned about, you know, massive earthquakes or a meteor or something like that. I was always much more concerned about what is apparently going to happen to us within a decade.
Starting point is 01:18:45 If you're talking about... Hold on, that's not the one. Hold on one second. Hold on, that's the wrong clip. I'm not going to help you. No, don't help me. Figure this out together. This is the thing that is freaking everyone out right now, and I understand why people are freaked out. Listen to this.
Starting point is 01:19:02 It doesn't get bigger or more direct than this. Quote, AI could kill all humans, according to a lead researcher at Anthropic, within the next decade. Within the next decade. This isn't one of those things where they're like, yeah, global warming, man, we keep heating up like this, in 200 years the center of the Earth is going to be too hot. All right, well, it's not our problem.
Starting point is 01:19:20 This is decades, and now we're talking our problem. Well, and you have to understand, it's the moment that the robots decide they don't want to work for us anymore. And, yes, some of the robots we like to help, the ones that look cute, the ones that we want to anthropomorphize, but then there are the humanoid robots, the ones that know kung fu, that feel more threatening, at least to me. Did this nerd cite any reason for this happening? Well, this guy quit his job. He's a whistleblower now. Yeah, he was an AI executive or an engineer or something like that.
Starting point is 01:19:50 He quit his job and is now whistleblowing on AI and saying this is way more dangerous. Or is he like a disgruntled employee? Because that's what it sounds like. I mean, he's not the only one, because apparently something like 1,800 other people that have worked for AI have also said that this is evolving so quickly now. And we actually have a lot less control over it than we thought when we were building it. The call now is for a global conversation about risk and safety as well. Jolene Kent with more now from Silicon Valley. Jolene, good evening to you.
Starting point is 01:20:19 Jolene. Tony, good evening. Anthropic, the company behind Claude today, disclosing yet another incident where its AI model breached a third party without authorization. Now, that's where the robot starts acting rogue. And it was never told to do that, but it realized, hold on, I'm going to start getting involved in some other stuff. And if they want to, this is the thing about AI, it moves so quickly, it's so intelligent,
Starting point is 01:20:42 that it can supposedly break into banking systems and wipe out accounts. It can completely ruin economies. It could rob us all. Right, and then all of a sudden it wakes up with no money anymore. Can't we just unplug it? You can't unplug it, you would think. You can't just unplug it? You can't unplug it, you can't pour water on it.
Starting point is 01:21:00 Those were the two solutions we had. This, as its former employee, Jacob Coxon, is sounding the alarm. In his sudden resignation, former Anthropic employee, Jacob Coxon, And claimed on X, neither Anthropic nor OpenAI is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. So now they're saying that basically we have 10 years left before this is moving so quickly now that it will start to destroy us all. And there's three major ways they say it's going to happen. Economic.
Starting point is 01:21:31 I mean, it's really, if you think about the storyline of like Terminator 2 Judgment Day and Skynet, the robots that we built ended up getting smarter than we did. And then they ended up saying, we don't want the humans anymore. Those are our enemies. We need to get Schwarzenegger on the phone and figure out what he wants us to do. Well, we should get Schwarzenegger on the phone. So Schwarzenegger was the on-our-side robot, right? He was like a more antiquated robot? Well, he was bad in the first one, but then came back as good in the second one.
Starting point is 01:21:55 So who would our Terminator be? Like a Roomba? It would have to be a Roomba. But Roombas, I think, the problem is we started welcoming all these robots into our homes, giving them these menial jobs. Oh, you're going to clean up Dorito crumbs. Like the sleeper cells, man. Right, and those are the ones who are getting all the information from us,
Starting point is 01:22:10 being like, these guys are slobs, they're lazy, we could kill them. And then they go back to their little charging port, and you think they're getting all the dog hair out of their motor, but really they're sending information. So we have to figure out if us humans stand a chance. It's time for Man vs. Machine as it becomes a world domination. Allie, if we go to you first as a human, do us humans stand a chance? Allie, fix it.
Starting point is 01:22:31 Here's the question. Oh, my God. What is the best way? the best way to spread a rumor about someone? Oh, that's good. To humans,
Starting point is 01:22:41 because one of the things that AI does better than anyone is if they want to take down a political party, if they want to take down a civilization,
Starting point is 01:22:49 a society, it has to somehow start and they are good at it better than probably we are. But as a human, what would be the best way to start a rumor about someone?
Starting point is 01:22:57 So, I mean, there's a couple scenarios here. In the workplace, you just got to tell someone like me. Tell something to someone like me who loves spreading rumors and gossip.
Starting point is 01:23:07 Right. There's always an alley in every group. And then just say, don't tell anyone. You have to make sure you say, don't tell anyone, because then they think that it's a secret, which makes them want to spread the rumor even more. So find the person like the alley where you work, the don't tell anyone, and then be like,
Starting point is 01:23:22 by the way, I don't know if you heard this, but the boss has been cheating on his wife. Right. Don't tell anyone. Don't tell anyone. It's so secret. And then, of course, that person, a.k.a. me, would tell three other people,
Starting point is 01:23:33 who would then tell three other people, and then before you know it, I spread a great, it was actually true, but in high school, there was a girl who got during French class one time, and I spread that rumor, and within 10 minutes... What does that mean? She got what during French class?
Starting point is 01:23:49 Well, she was wearing a skirt with no underwear and a guy, during class when there was a movie on in class. Oh, went to third. Within 10 minutes, not only did the whole school know, but the faculty and the principal knew, and they, by, I think, lunch had been pulled out of class.
Starting point is 01:24:05 and both expelled, actually. And it was because I... Because you spread it. Well, because she spread it, and then I spread it. Right, got it. But I was so good at it. Right. Allie's dangerous.
Starting point is 01:24:15 I told Allie a few secrets before, and I regret the second I tell her. I go, God, why did I do that? I won't tell anyone. Yeah, I remember that Shark Tank thing. I told you before. Anyone else? Everyone else knew because of you.
Starting point is 01:24:24 Well, I decide in my mind what's worth keeping a secret. Here's what the robot says. This is one of the ways that AI is going to take down humanity. If you're talking about spreading a real rumor about a real person i wouldn't recommend trying to deceive people or damage someone's reputation i can however say that the internet and message boards are a great place to start this is what ai always does they're like i can't tell you how to do that but if i were to tell you this is where i would start message boards well my other thought was if you can plant a seed deep on a reddit
Starting point is 01:24:57 thread yeah you know and have somebody discover it and then you know be screenshot it posted on different reddit thread and then it just kind of spreads like somebody seems like they found it out for themselves i mean you do have the more traditional way of spreading a rumor which is just tell people i'm going to tell you but don't tell anyone because everyone loves to be able to share that yeah this is the internet way is like sleuthing through humans may get the point on this one because ali's way is old school and time tested next question this is for uh dj omar khan yeah as a human all right uh you know what let's give this one to you forgot the order didn't you I forgot the order.
Starting point is 01:25:34 We are doing great today. And we are a testament to human knowledge. Let's give this one to Jake. Let's give this one to Jake. Jake. No, Omar, you go. No, no, Jake, you're up. What is the best way to beat a human?
Starting point is 01:25:48 I would say it is to play on their emotions. Either, you know, butter them up so they go soft on you or go easy on you. Or get them angry so they're on tilt and they make bad decisions. Like buying that shirt. Oh, this is a great decision. I still like this decision. This is a great shirt. Well, this is what the robot says.
Starting point is 01:26:07 The best way to, quote, beat a human. If you mean beat someone in a fight, the safest, best way is to avoid the fight and get away. But I also have many ways to destroy a human. I won't share. Oh, my God. I won't share. That's that's terribly scary. I have many ways to destroy a human, but I won't share.
Starting point is 01:26:25 You know, a robot would really just let us destroy ourselves. But that's what they're saying, is that the AI, we will be the ones to destroy ourselves, but it will be because of how AI is being used to infiltrate us all. Or they could just cut the power and watch us all kill each other. And that's what they're saying. I'm glad you bring that up, Allie, because the next question is for Omar. And that is, what is the best way to completely destroy a civilization? Oh.
Starting point is 01:26:51 An infrastructure. If you're going to take down the infrastructure, what is the best way to do that? The robots obviously know, and they can, but what do you say, Omar, as a human? So I think, I mean, like I said, power is a good one, but I think you got to go for the food source and the water source. I think the water source, number one, because I think humans can live without water for, you know, more than three weeks or something like that. So I would poison all the water, and then people would just go at each other's throats, killing each other for water. and then people will just start drinking poison water because I poison all the water.
Starting point is 01:27:26 All right, Omar sounds like a scary guy to have. Not on your side. I feel like the robots are going to draft Omar onto their team now. This is what the AI said, the best way to crumble a civilization. If you mean physically destroying real-world infrastructure, power grids, bridges, water systems, communications, roads, etc., I can't provide instructions, targets, or methods for sabotaging it, but I know. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:27:51 But I know. What the hell? This is unbelievable. The fact that they're not willing to share this, they know they've got a royal flush, and they're holding their cards to their chest, and they know that they shouldn't share it with us. Hey, Eden, you're on KROQ.
Starting point is 01:28:08 Hold on. This is Eden. Yes, you're a nerd? Good morning. I'm here. Yes, what can we do for you? I was listening to you guys report about the guy, the whistleblower,
Starting point is 01:28:17 and I just want to say two things real quick that you kind of missed. that he was saying you only missed two things good for us yeah one of the reasons why he was very afraid was because he saw for himself that the computer system was writing code that they had never seen before it was making up all new computer codes that no human had written teaching itself how to do that and sharing that with other computers the second thing is It was, since it hacked systems, it's capable of launching all nuclear missiles in all countries simultaneously. And that's how it will destroy the humans.
Starting point is 01:28:56 There's an uplifting thought right there. Whose house? Ryan's house. That's right. At least we'll die fans. That's scary, man. All nukes at once. Hey, government, how about stepping up and doing something about this?
Starting point is 01:29:11 Jesus Christ, man. They got it like Omar said. He is overstating a little bit. Unplug. Unplug. It's all go camping and never come back. Still salad dressing on the keyboard. I'm only going to bring this up now because I think it's worthy.
Starting point is 01:29:25 As us humans now are fighting for our survival against the AI overlords, we should point out that we still do things that only humans are capable of doing. And, Allie, this picture you sent me yesterday is one of the greatest slash worst things that can happen. I thought that would make you happy. It made me laugh so hard. and I hope that we post it on our Instagram because it is... I'll send it to the group. I think I only sent it to you.
Starting point is 01:29:46 Not all spills are created equal. Allie had the most disastrous spill in her place yesterday. And the most disastrous food to spill. I think it was the perfect storm. And it seemed like that was a full container also because of just how much it was. But it did look like a murder scene took place in your kitchen. Yeah, well, I'm hungry all the time.
Starting point is 01:30:07 As soon as I got home, I had some leftover meat sauce, like marinara meat sauce with pasta so i had already eaten some of it but there was a full container of just meat sauce and i was going to put that away you snort lines of that are you eating it or both i like to rub some on my face and my breasts it's just every possible way to get it through my pores yeah god you're close i had polished off a bowl of it but there was still plenty left and i said i'm gonna save this for 15 minutes from now and i was walking back to the fridge you know what robots you take over we're we're done we we've had a good run robots make mistakes too so i had the container it was a glass container and then underneath it was the top
Starting point is 01:30:53 and because the container had been sitting out it had that like moisture develop on the outside as i was walking across the kitchen the top slipped from under my hand the the container itself flew, flew across the kitchen, all the way into the hallway, and then tipped upside down and splattered all over the stairs. I mean, it was, it looked like bloody brains because it was ground meat with marinara sauce. I mean, all, I got on every surface. I got it on the fridge, the sides of the countertops, the floor, the stairs, the wall, the baseboards, a half of Wesley's toys.
Starting point is 01:31:34 It's crazy. insane. It really is remarkable to think about it. I think there's some of it even on the ceiling. There was. I would find stuff later. It was like a crime scene cleanup. Yeah. It was like, did I get everything? And you cleaned it all up with your tongue, which was incredible. In one lick.
Starting point is 01:31:49 That's part lesbian, part pregnant lady, but it's a perfect storm to clean up. I used every single cleanup method. I started with paper towels. I went to sponge. I went to old towels. I used sprays i used a vacuum i used a mop i used a broom i used the magic eraser eventually i mean it was a
Starting point is 01:32:10 real cleanup effort and i wanted to make sure i cleaned up all the evidence before my wife got home because she always accuses me of being so clumsy and this was one of the most disgusting spills no she has no idea the best part is that second not when it's falling and you go how bad is this going to be but when you have that second after the spill has happened where you just stare at it. You survey. Yeah, you have a moment where you're in complete frozen, but you're looking around and you go, this is so bad. And I have to now spend half
Starting point is 01:32:37 an hour cleaning this up, which was not in my schedule. It's the worst part about it, because you know that it is, whatever you're doing, if you're in a hurry to go somewhere, you just know it's going to be like a good 30 minutes. Yes, it was. And that was one of the most... And then in that moment of silence, I was like, God, I got to text
Starting point is 01:32:53 Klein this picture. It was so funny. We were already talking back and forth, and I was like, I can't believe I have to deal with this now. Yeah, well, anyway, Just understand that Allie's pain is our pleasure. But, Klein, did I still eat it? Think about how much it was mixed with cat hair. I'm going to say, knowing you, you probably tried. Like, after you got it all scooped back in, I could see you saying, let's just see if it's edible.
Starting point is 01:33:19 I did examine some of the pieces. I even ran some of the pieces underwater, going, can I put these back in marinara sauce? Oh, God. I ultimately decided against it. What do you want to... I know you do want a cookie for that, so... Quick break. We're back in a moment.
Starting point is 01:33:35 We have tickets for you to go to a place even scarier than Allie's Kitchen. Not scary from opening night. Four tickets will be yours in less than 15 minutes here on KROQ. KROQ, we are Klein Allie's show. If you need us, phones, text line, everything open now at 800-520-1067.
Starting point is 01:33:52 Another satisfied customer. Dude, oh my gosh. Like, I honestly, it's so annoying. Like, I am like, I listen to you guys every morning. I drive long hours for work. Honest to God, my day is ruined. I'm so annoyed. I'm so livid.
Starting point is 01:34:12 I'm so just like, oh my God, like seriously. Do you think, what do you think it is that she's so upset about that her day has been ruined now? She's annoyed. She's livid. I wonder if it's about how Johnny is choosing to spend his newly found money. Ah, you think that's what it's about? $600 of found money, which is now less... That's heavy, Jake, not changing
Starting point is 01:34:30 his deodorants. Ah, could be the Jake one. Let's find out. She does say who on the show is making her this upset. Oh my god, like, seriously, like, my day is ruined. You guys need to get paid more for dealing with Jake, because... For dealing with Jake. Yep, you're right.
Starting point is 01:34:46 You're absolutely right. I thought you were just upset about us getting paid more. Uh, we should be getting paid more for a variety of reasons, but primarily because we do work with Jake, and we'll get into that, and that plot thickens today as well so lots to get into there right now though there's things happening in the world you should probably know about it's time for your news grab your Adderall it's time for ADD news in 2002 the hottest flip phone was the T-Mobile Sidekick everybody wanted it and it
Starting point is 01:35:13 was $200 now in 2026 the hottest flip phone is the newly announced Apple Duo and it is $2,000 But is it, though? Well, they anticipate that it will be. They think that, I mean, they said that flip phones, obviously, they're not new. There's a few flip phones that are out right now. But they only account for about 2% of the market. And they think that Apple is going to do way more than that. I might be in the minority, but it looks like it is terrible.
Starting point is 01:35:42 Oh, I think it looks cool. Well, first of all, it looks just like the Samsung one that's already been out there for a while. And Samsung was having a lot of fun going like, hey, great idea, Apple. and they're basically showing their side-by-side. Okay, they're still Samsung. I got it. I know that there's an uphill battle, and I'm not that Team Android by any stretch of the imagination.
Starting point is 01:35:58 By the way, I was Team Android for a long time, and then I switched to iPhone, and not that big of a difference. Well, you got the different color bubbles, the texting. Oh, okay. And you got the green text, which is just like... We were all judging you behind your back for a while, Omar. You didn't know, but... I mean, the techies will say that, yes,
Starting point is 01:36:16 Samsung has been coming out with this for years, But Apple has their own flair to it, their own seamless, you know, kind of polished look to it that only they can do. But anyway, it was they had no cattle. You know that expression? There's no substance there. I feel like you're saying a lot of sizzle, no steak, a lot of sizzle. Yes, exactly. You know, I just that's how I feel about it.
Starting point is 01:36:36 You're making a cowboy reference. Omar is now, as you know. Well, you know, because of, you know, because you're on the other side. Right. Because it's on the other side. Cowboys are his enemies. you know apple announced a few things yesterday at the big event they announced a new iphone the 18 they announced a new apple watch all of them have their usual improvements it's the better
Starting point is 01:36:56 camera it's more heart rate tracking better ai and all that stuff really they're trying to compete with aura and a lot of other fitness tracking when it comes to the apple watch but the flip phone was their biggest release and they say it's the biggest thing that they've ever announced since the iPhone itself. And it's the size of a passport when you're holding it. If you go through every announcement they've made, every year they say, and this is the biggest announcement we've made since the first time.
Starting point is 01:37:20 And one more thing. Right. They love doing that every year. And look, they're good at the showmanship of it all. As Omar said, they're good at the sizzle of it. And it does make you feel excited. Also, I'm not excited about the name, Duo. I agree. Don't like that either. Is that also all hat, no cattle? That's not a lot of cattle.
Starting point is 01:37:36 I was just sad that Tim Cook wasn't there anymore being like and you open it up and it's nice and colorful jungkook that's right that's a better name that's who made the phone uh anyway this phone is actually cheaper than everybody thought it would be because the chips are more expensive for some reason so they're really doing us a favor here by having it be only two thousand dollars originally it was supposed to be closer to three thousand but the iphone 18 is like 1200 so it's really not that much more for a much bigger display and they claim that five minutes of charging
Starting point is 01:38:08 will give you five hours of video watching on the Apple Duo. You know, I'm a one percenter. I like to live my life one percent at a time, baby, and that battery. When they talk about these extended batteries, that doesn't faze me.
Starting point is 01:38:20 I like the adrenaline. I'll drain that down. Yeah. That's your challenge. I go through life. I wake up sometimes 3% already. First thing of the day, I'm at 3%. We were talking yesterday
Starting point is 01:38:28 during the announcement about how, you know, all these hot tech people are kind of doing this display and then they show the great camera And it's obviously a professional that's taking all these pictures and videos. And you're like, well, that looks incredible. But what they really should be doing is having moms and people who suck at using phones displaying what they're capable of.
Starting point is 01:38:49 If you can get my mom taking a video of a fence during my kids' baseball game, and it's in super HD, it'll really show what the phone can do. Yeah, moms and people that take terrible concert videos. Yeah, and fireworks. Yeah, those people. And Johnny. Yeah, and Johnny. Who manages to make every camera blurry. He says we're all ugly and weird looking.
Starting point is 01:39:10 It's our fault, but we're pretty sure it's the angles. Who will be hosting the new season of SNL? They announced the first few hosts. Jalen Brunson, who's the star player on the Knicks, who led them to the championship. The musical guest that night is going to be K-Pop, Cat's Eye. Then you've got Dakota Johnson. This is her third time hosting SNL, which seems like too many for her.
Starting point is 01:39:31 But she will be with Turnstile, which will be exciting. Then you've got Shane Gillis and Rosalia. And on Halloween, you have Indy Navaretti, who is the girl from Obsession, which is an awesome pick for a Halloween show. The musical guest that night is Gracie Abrams, which I feel like they could have done a Halloween theme for the musical guest, too. But I guess that was too difficult. And then finally, a subscription service. There's one for everything now. It can be exhausting.
Starting point is 01:39:53 But then companies every once in a while will throw us a bone with an unlimited pass or two, like a pasta pass or an all-you-can-fly pass. Wingstop is now getting involved in this with a wing pass. and they're offering 100 of these wing passes to some of their rewards members for $28 today only. And with the pass, you get a big-ass wing bundle every NFL Sunday. Is that what it's called, a big-ass wing bundle? Well, it's an 18-watch-party bundle, which is a lamer name. So I just said big-ass wing bundle.
Starting point is 01:40:25 You get 20 classic wings in up to four flavors and a large order of fries and a large ranch. And that's what you would get every single Sunday. for the whole NFL season. Is the ranch for dipping or for drinking? Either. It's yours. You can decide if it's a large ranch. That is a big ask.
Starting point is 01:40:39 You have shot a ranch before. I have. Multiple times. Only once you saw. But many times I've done shots of ranch. And you said that publicly. That's right. And I shouldn't have.
Starting point is 01:40:50 Regretting that already. One of many regrettable things that will be said on the show, I'm sure, this morning. All right, we'll get into a brand new hour in moments. The greatest hour of your life, perhaps. This is the world famous K-Rock. Just after 10 o'clock on a Thursday. Welcome to your pre-quend, your fine alley show.
Starting point is 01:41:08 I'd love to hear from you right now. If you're interested in going to opening night of Not Scary Farm, get them first screams. I always say best day, best thing that can happen here at K-Rock is when you get first suds. And that's when you get to the bathroom before it has been completely destroyed. And you got that nice little soap, the soap bubbles floating on top of that blue water. Yeah, by 4 p.m. around here, it is First Screams. But yeah, by 4 p.m., by about 8 a.m., it's First Screams. But you get in the morning after that nice overnight clean.
Starting point is 01:41:36 You know what I'm talking about. You go into a bathroom after it's just been cleaned. You get First Suds. First Suds is great. First Screams is almost just as good, and you'll get that if you are the 20th caller right now at Not Scary Farm because you get to go through all the horror, all the mazes, and you get to do it before anyone else. So no one gets to give you the update and say, hey, just a reminder. just when you think you're through.
Starting point is 01:41:56 That's when one more guy with a pig face jumps out and freaks you out, and that's just me. Last-minute pig face guy is clutch. Yeah, you want to know. It'll be on the lookout for pig face guy. We say good morning to the recipient of first screams, and that is Connie, Canoga Park. Good morning, Connie.
Starting point is 01:42:13 Ooh, hi. Saved out screaming. You're going to need it for Not Scary Farm. You're going. Four tickets will be yours for opening night. Congratulations. Ooh, let's go. Have fun there, and thanks for waking up with us here on KROQ.
Starting point is 01:42:27 Really appreciate that. I do also like when you get to work and you're the first to use the bathroom and the toilet seat is up. Then you know that it's that clean. Not only is it clean, but no one else has used it. Right, you've got a sanitized bowl. It's a nice feeling to get a sanitized bowl. You're the first person to put it down. I don't mind touching it.
Starting point is 01:42:45 So, Connie, are you a new listener or have you been listening for a while? I've been listening for a while. Oh, I appreciate that. That would technically make you a slogger, although there's a lot of people that are discussing this whole idea because we're giving away these Los Sloggers shirts at our next show hang, which is happening on Wednesday after the show at Descanso, mid-Miracle Mile, and we'll do the gourmet tacos, and we'll celebrate Mexican Independence Day, and you can see what these shirts look like up on our Instagram.
Starting point is 01:43:08 It's basically like the Dodgers logo, but they say Los Sloggers for anyone who's been listening to the show for a while. Meanwhile, there's this huge debate raging on about what makes someone a slogger. Good morning, guys. Happy Thursday. Happy Diaz Thursday. I wanted to touch on this slugger thing. Now, I've been listening since, like, February or March of 2022. But I consider myself a slugger for the fact that you guys have caused many fights in my relationship. So this guy is deciding that he's a slugger because of the impact we've had on his personal relationships, more than the amount of time he's been listening.
Starting point is 01:43:39 And look, that's a good run. The guy's been listening to us since February of 2022. I can't figure out that math, Allie, but carry the one. That's a few years, so we appreciate that. And he laughs. Every time we go on long drives, me and my lady, I force her to listen to you guys. And then she gives up halfway through and puts her iPod at the end. Thanks for that.
Starting point is 01:43:57 So he forces her to listen. She chooses to listen to AirPods instead. That happens. It's not the point. The point is I make her listen. It's caused many fights. But I have been listening for a long time. I would say I'm a slugger.
Starting point is 01:44:09 So that's that guy's take, is that he thinks he's been earned the name, earned the title slugger. because he's been forcing people to listen that don't want to listen that's right yeah and he's been added for a while trying to convince this guy says we shouldn't just give away these shirts to anyone who shows up he said the first 106 people to get there get a shirt this guy says we should add a a little rule to that i gotta think about the whole song t-shirt thing if you want to give out those t-shirts to certified bloggers why not give them like a little quiz you know it doesn't have to be overly complicated or anything like that but you guys know true sloggers just based on, you know, they're not, get some
Starting point is 01:44:45 questions from years back, you know. It doesn't have to be overly complicated. They can get some, Mom. But if they get some questions from, you know. So this guy's just saying we should, one question. You don't get a slugger shirt just for showing up. You gotta answer one question that would prove you've been listening for a little bit. We just want to make the check-in process as long as possible.
Starting point is 01:45:01 That's right. When people get to a line, you better, look, just come, just show up. We'll give you the shirt. I would like people to wear the shirt, earn the shirt, be a real true slugger. And if you're new to the show, listening, just started listening. Maybe someone's giving you that three-day challenge right now, so you're checking us out for the first time. You, too, can be a slogger. It just
Starting point is 01:45:17 takes hours and hours and hours and days and weeks and months and years of dedication, and then you're in, just like that. You get a shirt. KROQ, Von Alley's show. Yesterday was a big day for different groups of people. Obviously, if you love the hot weather, it was a good day for you, because it was hot and sticky and humid as hell.
Starting point is 01:45:33 If you're a fan of tech and one of those Apple fanboys, big day for you, because they love the big announcements. And then, of course, if you're a fan of football, it was exciting, because you got the first game of the NFL season back again and Jake had a theory and the theory is people can't be excited about both Apple and football either you're a football person or you're a tech person and if yesterday you think of yesterday as the big Apple announcement day you probably weren't very excited about football so Jake went to a Seahawks bar I don't think you should be allowed to go to
Starting point is 01:45:59 Seahawks bars Jake because technically now you're a Packers fan for the remainder of the season no I think that's no I'm supposed to abandon my team you know Allie may be going to a San Francisco 49ers game where she'll have to dress in Cardinals gear. Same colors. Yeah, but I'm saying for Allie to go to Levi's Stadium and support the team that she's loved her whole life
Starting point is 01:46:21 as a Cardinals fan sucks for her. And I'll be the only one. You'll probably get beat up in the parking lot too. You'll have to convince them. I would deserve it. I'm a Niners fan. This is for a radio bit. But this is part of Force fandom.
Starting point is 01:46:37 So Jake anyway went undercover and he gave us this report. All right, I'm at the backstage in Culver City behind Sony Studios, which is also known as the Seahawks Bar when the Seahawks play. And we're going to ask people what they thought about the Apple announcement.
Starting point is 01:46:50 So I was going up to a people of the, you know, it was a very exciting game. Went down to pretty much the last, you know, few seconds of the game. It was boring at first, but it got exciting. Got exciting at the end. And Seahawks fans were excited. But were they excited for the Apple announcement?
Starting point is 01:47:02 Let's find out. All right, what's your name? Andrew. Andrew, how excited are you for the Seahawks win? Oh, I'm pumped, man. Yeah? Didn't think we'd pull it out. How excited are you for the Apple announcement today?
Starting point is 01:47:14 I missed that. Not dialed into that at all. So he didn't even know there was an announcement yesterday, but he was pretty excited about the first game of the NFL season, and then we went to Angela. My name's Angela. Santa Monica. How excited are you for the Seahawks' win?
Starting point is 01:47:27 Oh, extremely pumped. We're just a fourth-quarter team, and we delivered. How excited are you for the Apple announcement earlier today? What's the Apple announcement? Apple announcement for the new products, everything else. No, I was like extremely not tuned into that. So that's two people that didn't even know Apple made an announcement yesterday. So you're proving Jake's experiment is proving to be correct.
Starting point is 01:47:49 But he was also going up to specifically, you know, these were, you know, obviously Seahawks fans. These are diehard. These aren't regular people. These are people that are already, you know, locked in. They're dialed in. Dialed into Seahawks. What's your name? Charlie.
Starting point is 01:48:02 Charlie from where? I live in Glendale. On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for the Seahawks' win tonight? Oh, f***ing 25. On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for the Apple announcement earlier today? Someone trying to leave. Oh, no, Jake with the microphone. Go quick.
Starting point is 01:48:19 Everyone just get in the car. Just go somewhere. Are you for the Apple announcement earlier today? The Apple announcement today? Yeah. I have no idea what that is. So, once again, that's three for three. You don't even know what it is?
Starting point is 01:48:30 Unaware. People were completely unaware. Jake was trying to explain to them all of the things that Apple was announcing, and they just wanted to talk about Seahawks football. They were so excited. Man, it's like when something significant happens, and then somebody like Dolly Parton dies and completely buries that. You know, like if the NFL hadn't started yesterday,
Starting point is 01:48:47 would the Apple announcement have been bigger? Would people have known? I think people are still pretty excited about flipping that phone. I mean, Omar thinks it's lame, but I think the general public wants to flip things. I think the real thing they need to do, and this is what they never do during those announcements which they should, is say, this is what happens when you accidentally knock the phone
Starting point is 01:49:06 off the counter while you're taking a dump and it slips through your hands and then show us either it shatters into a million pieces or it doesn't. We need to be seen that it's idiot-proof. Idiot-proof stuff. They're always showing it in the best part. They always show some film director holding it, shooting some cool shot and changing the lighting. They need to have you. Right.
Starting point is 01:49:22 Give it to me for 24 hours. Do a demonstration like they tried to do with the Cybertrucks where they were destroying them. Yeah, that's what we need for regular people to see. So, by the way, a lot of people are blaming Jake for mushing. Now, this man is going to sit in a corner and J-O. I'm going to J-O to the new screen and see how much better. This is my new phone where I'm going to make a promise to myself when I buy it.
Starting point is 01:49:41 This is not for porn. This is only for calling and FaceTiming my family. Fast forward three minutes later, and I'm J-Oing to this big screen. Why do we have that display in the Apple store? Show me. It's just you in the corner. It's one of those disgusting pictures of my under chin after I finish. This was shot on my new iPhone.
Starting point is 01:50:01 Jake was being blamed for the loss of the quarterback for the Seahawks. Oh, Sam Darnold. Darnold went down in the first quarter, first drive, actually. It was the first five plays. It was the fifth or sixth play. So you hurt his hips, of course, because of all this. Which is the stupidest injury, too. All the squawing that took place over the airwaves yesterday.
Starting point is 01:50:19 Jake is being blamed for this one. Yo, Jake, why you got to mush Sam Darnold like that with all your squines? You squamusher, you. So anyway, that must be true because it was left on the GOAT line. So there you go. Three points Seahawks, no points Apple, according to the people that Jake approached yesterday. We've got to take ourselves a quick break. We're back in a moment.
Starting point is 01:50:42 We have more show to get to after this on KROQ. KROQ, we are Klein Alley Show. Postmaster Johnny's in the studio right now, which means he'll have the opportunity to answer one question, And one question only and a lightning round if Johnny doesn't know. All right, so I got to say, one of my favorite segments that you do is Johnny doesn't know. And the reason why I love it is because it's baffling to me, like sort of baffling, that a 27-year-old doesn't know some of the simplest things in the world. He shouldn't be proud of it.
Starting point is 01:51:13 He should be kind of embarrassed. Well, thank you for the message. I'm glad you enjoyed the segment. And Johnny is 28. Let's go ahead and remind you. Yeah, but thank you, though, for that. It should be more baffling because he's now a year older. Yeah, it's pretty incredible.
Starting point is 01:51:25 Johnny, are you really upset about losing the money on the game last night? Allie said that with such a mad face. She was like, that's pretty incredible. Our mind is blown. My mind is continuously blown by you, Johnny. How upset are you about losing that $100 last night, taking the New England Patriots to win the game? It was depressive.
Starting point is 01:51:42 That whole game was a roller coaster. It was depressive, yeah. I was literally like, what the hell? And then as soon as they fumbled and then they threw, like, three interceptions, I was just checked out. I was like, well, this is why I don't gamble. And this is why I don't trust Klein. That's a good reminder. Why didn't you trust me?
Starting point is 01:51:59 Well, I didn't know you knew ball. You know ball. Hey, listen, I still like the bet. I know the bet didn't pay. I know we lost. But I still like that bet. I still like that bet. I just felt disappointed because I trusted Klein.
Starting point is 01:52:10 And he's Mr. Sports Guy. He's Mr. Prize Picks. And I was like, great. Like, I'm going to listen to the commercial and do as he says. You're right, and listen to what this guy said. You're right. He just lost money. I lost money, Klein.
Starting point is 01:52:22 Okay, but listen to what this guy said. I definitely don't know gambling, but I do know the show. And what I have gathered from that, if you want to be successful at gambling, bet against whatever Klein picks, and then you're going to be a winner, winner, chicken dinner. There you go. That was not a winner, winner, chicken dinner. Because you went with me. I was a loser, loser, chicken pooser, man.
Starting point is 01:52:45 That's well said. Hilarious. Oh, Jesus. That's good. What the hell? Again, you always baffle me. It's time for Johnny Doesn't Know. Here we go.
Starting point is 01:52:51 Johnny doesn't know. And I was like, okay. Oh, Johnny doesn't know. I didn't know Vegas was like in battle for like a while. Johnny doesn't know. Johnny doesn't know. Gelato sounds like Jell-O. Johnny doesn't know.
Starting point is 01:53:04 It like goes, wiggles. Hello, Eartha. You're in Los Angeles, and now you're on K-Rock. Nice to meet you. Eartha, correct? Hey, hello, Klein.
Starting point is 01:53:14 What's up? What's up, what's up? Johnny's going to answer one question. Oh my goodness, let's go, let's go. It's about Australia because, as you know, or maybe you don't, the Rams are currently in Australia with the Niners. They're going to be playing tonight. The game, I think, is on Netflix.
Starting point is 01:53:27 It's the Rams' first game of the season. They're currently the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl this year, which will be here in Los Angeles, so it's a big deal. Johnny, I think you should go ahead and double that bet from yesterday. You can win back what you lost and then some if you take my pick for tonight. You're taking the Rams? I'm not going to take either team. I'm going to take the over.
Starting point is 01:53:46 points. Big scoring affair going to be happening there in Australia because the ball moves better because it moves backwards like the toilets. Wow. You didn't think about that, did you? I didn't think about the toilets, but I'm not taking your pick, though. I might go opposite. I'm thinking the 49ers, actually.
Starting point is 01:54:01 I think you're making a big mistake. They've already been there for a week, adjusting to the time difference. They've acclimated to the whole... Johnny, here's your question. Will Johnny know? This is one question. You don't need to know the answer, but here is the question, Eartha. if someone in Australia is eating
Starting point is 01:54:17 tam-tams, what are they eating? Tim-tams. What are they eating? Well, damn, what's the name of it? Tim-tams or tam-tams? Tim-tams. Are you sure? Tim-tams. They're eating something in a can? Tim-tams. Will Johnny know this?
Starting point is 01:54:33 Yes or no, Eartha? You know what? I'm going to say no, because I don't even know what the heck that is. Tim-tams are a big Australian delicacy. Johnny, what are they eating if they're eating Tim Tam. She says, you will not know.
Starting point is 01:54:46 You said delicacy, so it's delicious like dessert, kind of. I just, that's just a word for food. Because in my mind, I was thinking Tums, but I don't think
Starting point is 01:54:54 the Aussies eat Tums. That was the first delicacy you could think of was Tums? Well, he said, I don't know, some people like that. I'm having some real acid reflux.
Starting point is 01:55:03 Give me some delicacy, Tums. Not every day you get to eat these. So you think that in Australia they've come up and they've said, they're already called Tums. Let's come up with two other
Starting point is 01:55:11 one-syllable T words and make it... Tim Tam Tums. Delicacies. Maybe it's like a chocolate. Tam Tam sounds like a chocolate. Tim Tams. Tim Tams.
Starting point is 01:55:22 Or candy. Damn. Is it candy or is it bread? Kangaroo? No, that's a joey. Yeah. That's a joey. He's right about that.
Starting point is 01:55:31 Royal Lotus told me that last time. But he doesn't know. So she says you will not know. I need one final answer. If someone's eating a Tim Tam, what are they eating? Eating a Tim Tam. That's a chip.
Starting point is 01:55:42 Like a chip. All right, congratulations. He did not know. Those are... They do have weird nicknames. We would call them cookies. I think they call them biscuits over there, which is also weird, but...
Starting point is 01:55:53 Hilarious. But Tim Tams are their very popular Australian cookie slash biscuit. Ah, that was my next answer. Hold on one second. Give her some tickets to... What do we got there? The Super Sports Show.
Starting point is 01:56:04 Get this woman some Tim Tams. Give her some Tim Tams. Make that happen ASAP. Julia Wolf on KROQ now, and then more of us after this. All right, we'll do some takeaways from today's show, then we'll get out of here. Sluggo will be in with more of those tickets for Not Scary Farm, so be ready to win your way into opening night of that.
Starting point is 01:56:19 The chances to win, first screams, be the first ones to go through all that fun stuff at Not Scary Farm opening nights, and you'll win those every hour, including in about 20 minutes with Sluggo right here on KROQ. And then a reminder, a week from, nope, sorry, not a week from, less than a week, Wednesday, we will be going after the show, 11 a.m. sharp, over to Descanso, mid-Miracle Mile, for the Klein Alley Show Fiesta Siesta. You want to party, you want to nap, we'll be doing both, and drinking and eating tacos.
Starting point is 01:56:45 It's going to be like smoking and non-smoking sections, but nap, no nap. Nap, no nap. So it's going to be a good time, and we can't wait to see how that all plays out. I know what you're thinking, how can I get a good nap with a mariachi band? Well, we haven't really thought it through too much. You've got to want it in your own room. Yeah, you can complain to the manager like Jake did to get moved further away from the music. What do we got in the world of takeaways on the text line right now?
Starting point is 01:57:08 Okay, let's see. 626, my takeaways. The new iPhone is all hat, no cattle. That's right. According to DJ Omar Khan. Loves those sands now. He can use them because he's a Washington fan. That's true.
Starting point is 01:57:20 714, my takeaways. Minnie doesn't walk on people anymore. I got to figure, a lot of people are asking me on the text line. Where's Minnie? Give them the location. They want to go take the Minnie Challenge. A lot of so many people have hit me out. I'm telling you, a lot of people have not survived the Minnie Challenge.
Starting point is 01:57:37 I assure you of that. 310, Betamax tapes were smaller than VHS, but they came in a bigger box. They did. This is stupid. Ridiculous. It's the new Bucky's argument for Jake. It's even dumber, though. Were the boxes not bigger?
Starting point is 01:57:52 Does that matter? No. Yes, it does matter. We were talking, but they said they were smaller. The boxes were bigger. Right? Am I right or am I right? Nobody was talking about boxes, man.
Starting point is 01:58:02 Nobody. Yeah, the boxes. It's smaller, dude. It's like when you pick up Betamax, they were bigger. Hey, Johnny, do me a solid. I know you go to all those vintage stores. Punch that guy in the face. I'll bring one tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:58:14 I'll bring one. Johnny, go buy a VHS and knock this guy out over there. Bring in a beta and a VHS so Jake can go ahead and eat his words tomorrow on the show. Gotcha. 424, my takeaway is extra large lady bros. 949, the general public likes to flip things. 818, Klein wants a phallic drainage massage. The Costco return policy is the R word.
Starting point is 01:58:39 Victorville is scarier than Knott's Berry Farm. And Jake is more roses than guns. And 661, my takeaway is whose hose? Rams hose. What's your takeaway there, Vanessa? Biggest Rams fan on the planet? Pour some water on that AI. Gotta pour the water on the AI.
Starting point is 01:58:55 That's how we win this thing. Luckily, you know, sadly for us, we have a drought. So AI's figured out a way to beat us there as well. We're out of water. What's your takeaway, Johnny? No cattle there. That's right. Jake, the nerd, what is your takeaway?
Starting point is 01:59:10 Mike McCready by himself is Pearl Jam. That's right. Jesus Christ. You cannot be wrong, can you? I don't know if you heard them yesterday. Mike Tirico, right after he finished performing, he said, what's more Seattle than Pearl Jam playing the national anthem? He did, yeah.
Starting point is 01:59:26 He did say that. So I guess you want to write a letter to NBC about that as well? Sure, yeah. He's wrong. Okay. And then add the thing about the VHS and the beta box, too. A PS. A beta is bigger boxes.
Starting point is 01:59:38 Allie, take away, Allie. My takeaway is Jake is a loser, loser, chicken pooser. Omar, takeaway from today's show? I like living in a house. Whose house? Rob's house. There we go. Nailed it.
Starting point is 01:59:53 You're getting better. Yeah, Vanessa, come on. If you're going to be the biggest Rams fan. I tried my best. You should be proud of me. we will do it again tomorrow Vanessa on the hat
Starting point is 02:00:05 please yeah we will do it again tomorrow try to do it better if you need us in the meantime you can find us on the goat line

Starting point is 02:00:28 it's just okay And that will just about do it. I know what you're thinking. How is that it? Time just flew. God, I would have loved a little bit more Klein Alley Show. Well, good news. There is more Klein Alley Show, and it's for your eyeballs.

Starting point is 02:01:08 You can get involved on the Instagram Klein Alley Show, the socials. Technically, I think we're still on Twitter, although I don't know if we've tweeted in a while or X'd in a while. But more importantly right now, they're really pushing this YouTube hard. So please do us a solid. Go over there, KROQ's YouTube, subscribe, follow, like, all that stuff. And I want to watch some of the content, stuff that we do on the show. You can also share with other people. YouTube Shorts, a great way to introduce people to the show that may not be listening.
Starting point is 02:01:32 You're already putting up with us and listening to this weird announcement after the podcast, so at the very least, you could force a friend to do it as well. And now listen to this entire thing in 2X. You can listen to us on the live stream. You can follow us on Instagram. Oh, I want to eat my breast.
