It is February the 28th, and you've got to be pretty excited. If you're a Kentucky fan after that huge win on the road yesterday, it was, well, it was awesome. How can you say anything was better than that? It was an absolutely awesome victory. And we're here to talk about it on the Clark's Puppet Shop phone line. I was up late doing the postgame show. My first segment last night basically was all of my thoughts about the game and kind of what it means. I said that I think this will be the regular season game that in a decade will remember from this year the most. And Mississippi State has been that game often. I think it will be that game again this year. So I'll tell you what, I'll do something uncharacteristic

and say to Ryan and Drew, what did you guys think of the game? You all haven't gotten to speak on it last night. I was obviously at a concert last night, and when they got down by 13 points, I thought, I'm not going to watch this game. They're down eight at halftime, down 13 to second half. I remember thinking I'm just not going to watch it. And then when I was keeping up with it on my phone,

I saw what was happening. I was like, I have to watch this game. I have to watch it. Found a replay on Hulu at 3 a.m. Okay, Shannon, hang on just a second. All right, hang on. He texts us. He texts me, Shannon, me and Drew. Were you on that text, too? He texts us at three and says, Hulu's replaying this game at 3 a.m. I think I'm going to stay up and watch it.

And I said to him, it's on ESPN Plus probably now. And you had never heard of it, Ryan, right? No, I didn't realize ESPN put those games up immediately. So you saved me, dude. I owe you a big thank you because I watched it during your post. game show. I could save you a lot more time. Just go on YouTube. There's highlights. Don't you have YouTube TV? He needs to watch the game. He needs to watch the game. But so you, so that you were going to get up at 3 a.m. and watch it? Definitely the second half. I thought to myself, if I get up that early, I'm going to skip the first half and just watch the second half. I had to. Got for what happened last night. So once you, after George Michael, and we'll talk about George Michael later, but after George Michael,

what did you think of that second half? Dude, that performance Reed Shepard put on, because I know we're going to talk a lot about it with his, his last second shot off the wrong foot by the way you don't know how hard that is you know you shoot a floater off your left foot like you shoot a layup he shot that off his right foot well that but just that block was like my goodness that was a heck of a play the steel he made he hit every free throw I mean it was nothing he did it all I don't think that one bad pass away but you know I'll take it for everything else he was doing right at that for me forever you said we're going to remember this game that's the reed shepherd game it is it's the reed shepherd game it's the reed shepherd game it's the

That's the way to say it. What do you think about it, Drew? My biggest takeaway was we've got to teach Ryan how to record games. You can watch them right away. You don't have to wait for the schedule to come around. You can record them. Ryan's like my grandparents sitting there going, are they going to show it again on that ESPNU? What channel is it? YouTube TV, we'll get you set up.

But yeah, we can do two hours on reads. So I'll just say it was awesome. Just how they won that game. Mississippi State is a desperate team. They play a brand of basketball. we don't like to see. Correct. You got a great big man where you wondered which big man you'd throw at them.

I mean, there's a lot of things that should point to a loss for Kentucky, which is why Vegas had what it was, but then they looked that right in the face and did everything they needed to do, come on with a win. It was a little frustrating that they had it up six with 30 seconds to go, but whatever. Eight, yeah, 45. Yeah, whatever it was.

I'm not going to complain about that. They got it done. It was just a great way that they got it done overall, even falling down early. It was, first of all, I mean, we were down, Ryan, at one point 14, right? I mean, we were, we fell down on the road. I think we were down 14 in the second half. That's when I left KS. Barr at that moment. And on the road in an environment like that and a team that hasn't done very well coming back from behind

because they can't stop anybody. They did it this time. Well, they got like a five-minute stretch where they only allowed two points. And that allowed them to cut it from 14 to two. And then it was game on after that. And, you know, they once again, Antonio Reeves, you can just plug him for 20 to 24 points every game, right? And it's so quiet sometimes. Sometimes you don't even realize he's doing it.

Yeah, he has 21 and you're just like, oh, he got 21 again. But every time you're, you've said it before, every time he squares up, if he gets his feet set, you just think it's in. It's money. It's money. And he missed a couple shots. And I thought that was the only time I was like, ooh, is this our night? He's open and misses, right? But then here comes Reed.

32 points. You get, what, 11? You got, what, 11 for, not 11. You got 11 from Wagner. You got 11 from Wagner. You got only two points from Z, but amazing good minutes, Drew, that I don't think we would have necessarily foreseen in that game. You had three blocks.

Z's starting to hold his own a little on defense. And part of that, I mean, you threw him in in the middle of the year, coming off sitting down forever. It's understandable to take. him a while. But when they first started playing Z, it seemed like there's just games. He's, he cannot play. He's turned the corner on that and really held his own inside defensively. His shot wasn't falling. But I mean, he's taking steps a little bit of time. And I think he's made it to where he's got to play a lot moving forward. Shannon, he would look at the bench

sometimes and be like, he looked like me after running or something. He was just like, I couldn't believe how out of shape he looked. He looked like an old man at times. But Cal would leave him over and he would just look. He'd do like, please take me out. That's, yeah, that was really surprising. I would think at this point of the season he would be in better shape than that, but apparently not. But he, you know, he got thrown around a lot, but he still found a way to kind of hold his own. And the key was getting that five to six minutes stretch where you, because in the first half,

you didn't watch it, Ryan, but Drew, you do. We couldn't stop them on any play. Like, I felt like they were going to just like Tennessee did, score whatever they wanted. and then in the second half they were able to get a run where they stopped them and that was how we kind of got in the game and got the lead. Yeah, it was certainly not the start we wanted. And I was here at the bar. There were some groans.

I don't think confidence was high early on. But once Kentucky just showed a little glimmer of getting that offensive going, I can't, I won't speak for you all, but I felt good in that second half early. Even when they were down a significant margin, it just felt like it was a game. Kentucky was going to hit the gas. I kind of felt like the whole. whole game we could win. I thought we needed, you know, we needed to get over the hump. And what was odd is Rob Dillingham, who I, who I either had not scored or only had two points, got us the key

run, right? It was 71-67. They announced Shannon on the scoreboard, don't storm the court. Yeah. Mistake on their part or did they, okay. So let's say it either way, right? So let's talk about that. Four and a half minutes to go, they go to break or four minutes of 50, seconds. They're up four. After what happened at Wake Forest, do they have to do that? Because it clearly ends up making them look stupid. Shannon, do they have to do it? I think they have to do it, but I feel like four minutes left in the game, there's too much time. Maybe you do that when there's maybe a minute, a half. But then again, what if there's no stop in play? That's exactly right. So, I mean, maybe they, maybe they did have to do it. But it just felt like it was a little too early to do that. It felt a little premature. And then immediately we come out in seven points where either run.

scores them or assists for him and we go from four down ride to three up a huge run right there and that shot that dillingham hit where he's in the corner falling out of bounds he got fouled on that shot too that's really the first that's the first time i thought they're going to win this thing i mean i you know because mississippi state was hitting everything there for a while that hubbard kid is awesome well he played great didn't he but when dillenham hit that fall away three in a corner i thought they're going to win this that's what i kind of changed my attitude my favorite dillingham play is when I thought he was going to take the three, which I would have loved. I think you just hit that one.

But then he passed to Bradshaw for the wide open dunk. That's a great pass. That's a great pass. Normally you think Dillingham's shooting that, especially we had seen one go in. But he made the extra pass to get the open dunk. So let's talk about Shepard. 32 points. You know, let's be real.

Kids from Easter Kentucky. You know, his dad played here. His mom played here. People have known he was coming here. This was, I mean, people have been waiting for this. night and he's been good all year but they've been waiting for this night all year and then it happens makes the shots hits the game winner and even though you can make a strong argument we should have never gotten to that point he makes it and you know I I don't the fan base celebration

is like crazy I can always tell how big a game is Shannon by who on my contact list contacts me Like if we get down to people that barely watch the games contact me, then I know it's a big game, right? Like when there are like ex-girlfriends going, can you believe it? You still have ex-girlfriends that contact you over games? Well, yeah. Well, no, not consistently going it with this game. The last night you had all the X is blowing you up.

Yes. Oh, the X is. How about that read, baby? The ex. Can you introduce me? Now I'm old enough. Can you introduce my daughter to read? Right. I mean, when you're exes, my lawyer, you know, my producer at ESPN, right?

TJ didn't call me. Listen, TJ will get going at night. You'll see it. When friends that the only thing they know about you is Kentucky basketball, so for instance, somebody I met Shannon at that fellowship that lives in Montana was like, wow, your team won. That's how you know it's a big game. That's awesome when you got somebody from Montana. Yes, who doesn't even care about sports, like trying to relate to you. Oh, your team is winning right now, right? Yeah.

That's how you know it's a big game. And it got me, I had somebody reach out to me who's doing a feature on Reed nationally. And they asked me a question, and I want to throw it to the masses here for a second. All right. When is the last time the state of Kentucky won and then Eastern Kentucky 2 has produced a player that's as good as Reed? All right. So for the state of Kentucky, you tell me, Ryan, if you think this answer is correct. And at Kentucky, not anywhere else. I said he's the best from Kentucky since Rondo. And before that, Rex.

Is that, do you think valid? Yeah. And I think it's just a little different because Rondo, you know, went to a prep school. I totally agree with you. But if you're just saying from this state, and I agree with you, Rondo, it's weird because he didn't play in Kentucky. But is the Rondo Rex the two-sum? I mean, does he surpass everybody from Rex to now except maybe those two guys? Yeah. I mean, you know, we had that your trivia question in the night where Patrick Sparks had 28 points. He's better than Patrick Sparks.

As much as I like him, I think I like Patrick Sparks, I think he's better than Patrick Sparks. So his 32 is obviously the most the Kentucky kid has scored since what? Jack Givens had 41. Oh, well, did Rex ever have 32? It was the most by Kentucky freshman or someone from Kentucky as a freshman. I don't know back for a career. Now, let's go to the mountains. Okay.

He's the best player from the mountains since when? Since like, I mean, are we talking like Wawa? You read my mind. I mean, you can say Richie, he was a popular. I love Richie, but he's better. Yeah. Popularity-wise, they may be the same, but Reed is a better player than Richie. So I think you may have to go all the way back to Wawa.

Is it Wawa? Is there anyone like that? in the 60s, or is it Wawa? If there is one, I'm not coming up with it right now. That it deserves to be in this conversation. See, I think that is kind of amazing. Yeah. Because, and I know, look, I know people like Drew from Western Kentucky,

you all get tired of the mountain thing, and I get it. But I do think, Ryan, the mountains have like a mystique over this state. Do you agree with that? Yeah. There's something about the 606. If you live there, it's a special bond you guys have. It extends through central Kentucky. Almost everyone that lives in central Kentucky has family that at least was from the mountains.

True. Right. And I do think there's something about the mountains in this state that sort of it captures the whole, it captures kind of the feeling of the state. I think he's the best from the 13th, 14th, 15th, or 16th region at Kentucky. since Wawa for basketball and that's pretty amazing

isn't it in 2024 because we all know how important basketball is to those regions I mean it's it's a way of life and for for them to produce a kid that is playing at Kentucky and playing in an elite high level at Kentucky it's huge I think he is

and to then have the game where you know from we won't say Pikeville to Bethuca from Pikeville to North Laurel. I feel like you're trading us to Missouri. We're in the state too in Western Kentucky.

I know. We like Reed Shepherd. Listen, I love Western Kentucky, but I think there is. There's a lot of strays here. It's not, nothing against Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky's great. But there is a mountain thing in the state. Ryan, am I wrong about that or am I just being biased because I'm from the

mountain? No, you are. Like I said, there's a special bond that folks in the mountains and the 606 share. I think they feel like you got a little chip on their shoulder. We got to go out and prove everybody wrong. And when they got somebody that can step up and do something like Reed's doing right now, the whole area of the state is going to celebrate it. And I think it's the best since 50s.

And that, to me, is, you know, is pretty special. 8.59-280, 2287. I mean, we're going to be talking about this game a lot all day. We've got a full house here. It's Wings Day at KS Bar, Dollar Wings for lunch and dinner. Drew and Ryan are there. I'm here in Louisville with Shannon. he looked very grouchy today, but so far on the radio seems happy.

Our first caller on the pre-show today was not happy with the way of the game. I'm like, they won the game. Well, there's that. But you also can't please people.

I'm sitting here talking about how great Reed Shepard is, and there are people who are like, first of all, London's not in the mountains. London is in the London we've talked about this many times it's caught barely in the mountains but it's the gateway to the mountains and Ryan they're in the 13th region that's it gateway to mountains and they're in the 13th region

which technically puts them in the 606th the 13th region is the mountains with one exception you have to I think throw McCreary County who's technically in the 12th region but I drove through it the other day and you're not going to tell me it's not in the mountains that's definitely the mountains so it's the 13th

14th, 15th, 16th region, and McCreary County. It's good to see that area of our state have something they could stand up and pound their chest about. You know, they've been hit with floods and we've talked about other issues that go on with the water shortage in Martin County and things. So it's good that they can all stand up and be proud of what Reed's doing. We have a player, though, we should put in there with Rondo and Rex. Derek Anderson.

Yes. No, you think he definitely should be in that, like that group. Yeah, no doubt. Some older folks telling me best since Johnny Cox, because that was before Wawa. That was after Wawa, and he was the MVP of a national championship team. Yeah, I forgot about Johnny Cox. People got to remember, though, we're looking at these people on their careers, and we're looking at Reed in February of his freshman season.

True. He's already got a 32-point game and a game winner, and being the first since 2010 to have stats like you did in that game. Yeah, exactly. That's why I've got it. I still put him there even. I'll put him there even if. if we don't do anything in March, to be honest.

I think he's been amazing this year. That's what I think he's already way ahead of a lot of Kentuckians I like. Darius Miller, Derek Anderson. He's ahead of Darius Miller. I'm not putting him ahead of Derek Anderson yet, who won a title. That's true. And would have been the second best player on a, but yes, he's ahead of Darius, in my opinion. And just in terms, again, none of this is not to say, Ryan, Darius had an amazing career here.

But if you're just asking who is the better play? I think Reed is, isn't he? I think he is. And that's what's kind of amazing. He's doing this in the middle of his freshman year. He was the lowest ranked recruit out of this class that came in. And look what he's doing coming off the bench. It is incredible.

Yeah, 859-28027. One person writes, Matt, as I watched the game last night, I was pacing back and forth. And I ended up kicking something on my chair and I broke my toe. What play do we think he? kick something on his chair. Maybe that three-point shot there at the end? That would be the one. Yeah. I'd go foul on a three or when they threw Justin Edwards into the stands in the first half and knowing they didn't call foul.

Oh, yeah. I don't think if they had hit Justin Edwards in the back with a cherry. They could have hit him harder. Yeah, that's one of those things. Riffs do this. After you shoot the ball, if you weren't foul when you shoot, someone could hit you with a bulldozer after you shoot. No, I'm serious. That's what they do. Because if you look at it, at it. Edwards goes to the basket. He doesn't go strong. And I think the block was clean, but then the guy behind him just runs him over. And Drew, I think that happens a lot. They're like, well, once you let the ball go, you could be physically assaulted and it doesn't matter. Well, maybe he wanted an opportunity to offensive rebound. It was a miss, but he ended up in the

sixth row sitting with the crowd. Yeah, that was a bad no call. Shannon, would you have fouled at the end? I mean, yeah, I mean, I guess the numbers show you're supposed to, right? If you look at it statistically throughout the years, you're probably better off fouling. But Cala Perry has got it in his head. That's the way he's going to play it. Straight up at the end. No fouling. No timeouts.

Okay, so let's look at those two things. If you look at those two decisions at the end, I am in disagreement with Cal about the fouling. But I have always been pretty much in agreement with him about the no timeout for exactly Ryan like we saw play out. Yep. When you're in the half court, I actually like taking a timeout so long as you

don't draw up a lob. But when you're going full court, Cal's view of their scrambling I think was shown last night. That's why you do it is so you get something like that, right? Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. I knew we were going to talk about the timeout thing. You know,

the kid hit a falling back three-pointer with Hugo and seven-foot on his face. Ugo once again, though, didn't step out on the three. Ugo was playing him for the drive. And Drew, I was like, dude, let him have the layup if he wants it. You know what I mean? If you watch, there's a screen and Ugo doesn't go out.

They should. I like Hugo, but he made two huge defensive errors down the stretch. Yeah, especially a guy that's at that point had six threes in the game, two in the last 20 seconds, I think. You parked your feet on the three-point line, let him have a layup if he wants it. But they didn't do that. You knew that ball was going in, too. You knew it. That's no doubt.

Actually, I'm glad Kentucky won. If it went into overtime, man, I don't know. My argument about the foul would not have been the guy with the ball, Ryan. It was been, you know, they passed it to the big dude who shoots 55% from the line. There you go. That's the guy that's a foul. Yeah. When he got the ball, to me, that should have been an automatic foul.

But, again, Reed Shepard made the shot, so it doesn't matter because as long as you win the game. And I've always liked cows don't call time out if they're going full court. And I think last night was a perfect example of why they do that. Xerxes, what's up? Hey, Matt, hey guys. Allow me the tangent, please. What a game, what a victory. Of course you know it was hot tub of champagne again.

Reed Shepard is a beast. I've been saying, said Toronto, I do not understand how this man can block the needs without following the shooter. He has this uncanny ability that's never been, I think it's going to be. I'm going to have to hang up on you. Your phone is just, I don't know. I'm sorry, I appreciate the call. It's just going in and out. What happens with people's phones?

I appreciate the calls, Xerxes. I don't know if people are on Bluetooth or driving or what. But in your regular life. I don't know. Well, I mean, do you have this many phone issues that we have on the show? Do you talk to people on the phone in your regular life? No, you text them. So you probably don't even have a conversation.

I talk to them, but I know people don't like talking, but I like, I am still a phone talker. Most people aren't, though. I know, but I don't like that because it's so much easier just to go, right? Yeah. But we seem to have more phone errors than anyone in the country. And I don't know why that is. And it's probably you're right, Bluetooth and AirPods.

First of all, when did he move there when he was like young, young, didn't he? Yeah, he's been living in London as long as I know.

And we've brought this up before. He had a chance to leave North Oral. I wasn't born in London. It's true. And Stacy is from London. She's from London. She went to high school there. So if that's not enough, Shannon, what do you have to do?

Do you have to, like, come from the seeds there or something? He's to literally be born on top of a mountain? Look, we have everyone. Listen, those of us in Easter Kentucky, you know. We have everyone move out. If somebody moved in, Ryan, we should embrace it. Amen. Right?

Especially when Mama grew up there. And Mama grew up there. grew up there it's not like they just came for a year yeah i think it's all about like where you grew up to me it's where you grew up because born you didn't do anything drew when you were a baby what were you doing were you just like slobering sloboring okay you got a slobber in a town right none of us even know we're born sure the the certificate says it our parents tell us but you don't know you remember yeah been born anywhere i don't apparently lived like my first year or two like in for sales i don't know what happened i don't remember the old race you remember the old race you remember the old

restaurants on the main street of Versailles. I have like one or two memories from Cynthia, but then it's all Middlesbrough. Have one conversation with Stacey Reed and tell me that family's not from London. Good point. And I mean that absolutely respectfully, but she is London through and through. Like I said,

he had a chance to leave North Laurel and go play at elite prep school. He chose to stay and play there at North Laurel. See, I think that's awesome too, because you're right. Most guys would have. People are mentioning other players from Kentucky that didn't play at Kentucky. There's a ton of great ones. But, Ryan, I'm talking about people that played here, right? I mean, Ryan would tell you Chris Lofton has his best memories at Kentucky, Shannon.

But that doesn't mean he played here. As everybody remembers, that's his favorite moment. That's your favorite moment in Kentucky history is when Chris Lofton scored. One of his favorite moments ever was Hubbard last night version. He was like, what a moment for Hubbard there at Mississippi State. I did. I dropped the ball last night. Ryan last night, when we left the pregame show, he said, will you text me just a little bit through the game to keep me updated? And about 45 minutes after the game, I said, oh, yeah, Reed Shepard hit him. I did not. I let Ryan down last night. How is the George Michael concert?

I know you're going to make fun of me, and I expect it, but it was really, really good. They had two Georges. They had young George for the saying like wham songs in early solo career, but then they had, you know, crew, old George, and so they kind of split it half and half. But I can't, here's what's kind of funny. Sounds great, doesn't it, you? Yeah. The young George looked a little like Kyle Tucker, and I could not get that out of my head the whole time he was singing up there. That was Kyle Tucker. You thought Kyle Tucker was singing, Wake Me Up before we go-go?

Yeah, and dancing and gyrating and moving his hips and all that crazy stuff. Well, you know, I hear you're skipping the SEC tournament for a Boy George tribute. Is that true? Who wouldn't want to go see a little boy George? I think he's probably still touring. Okay. Let's go to doing good. What's up doing good?

Hang on. There we go. Well, gentlemen, I'm not just doing good. I'm doing great today. That was a game probably two, two and a half weeks ago. I think we lose by about 20. I thought Auburn was going to be a most physical test. Good grief.

Mississippi State. They're big, aren't they? She's OPEC. I think Mississippi State and South Carolina are the most physical teams. Auburn's better than those teams. but if you're just talking physical, those are the ones. I forgot about South Carolina, a good point. I think there were two incredibly important national stories from an athletic standpoint yesterday.

One of them was kind of being glossed over a little bit. Ryan Lemon, walking basically through a tsunami for five miles. It didn't rain. It didn't stop. He didn't get a drop of rain. He did not get a drop of rain. Tornadoes, weather alert. Preach.

It was. It was. What a hero. Preach it. Yeah, like a hurricane. He took a donut break halfway through. I would have been done. You gave me a donut and glass of milk.

You know, Shannon, I walked, this to give you example of how your 50 is. I walked two and a half miles from my house to El Napaul next to the Waterson. You know what I'm talking about? Yep.

It's actually almost three miles. about 2.8 miles. I walked that a few days ago. And at the end, I felt like I can splurge on this Mexican because I've walked 2.8 miles. And as I was feeling good about myself, I was like, well, Shannon did walk 50 miles. But I did feel good about myself. I think I got extra food for because I'd walk those 2.8 miles. You learned it. That's right. John, go ahead, John. How's it going, fellas? Doing good. Yeah, so I was seeing that the, so Louisville plays Duke tonight at Duke. Duke is going to win by 95 points.

Yeah, well, that's what the, the odds for Louisville to win money line is plus 1,400. The same odds for Kentucky to win the title. Which would you rather bet? I can't, oh, that's, what's more likely Kentucky win the title or Louisville beat Duke tonight at Duke? Is that your question? That is my question. I will take Kentucky to win the title, Drew, over Louisville. What are the chances Louisville beats Duke tonight?

Stop. One in 1400? No, it's more than that. And I appreciate the call it. Drew, you'd have to play 25 times, maybe 30 times to get a game that it's a game with a minute to go at Duke. Do you agree? Is Philpowski's leg back on? He's playing.

He's playing. He's okay? Yeah, I think Louisville doesn't stand much of a prayer there. How many times would Louisville have to play Duke at Duke for Louisville to win? I think they could play until the power goes out. Shana, how many times? I don't even think you could put a number on it. I mean, I guess anything could happen in a one-game scenario, but how many times do they have to play?

It's not allowed to happen. It's got to be high. It could, but this is not a typical Duke team. They're not as great. It's not, but it's at Cameron and they just lost. Yeah. And Louisville is awful. Every time we say it, I feel like Louisville has a better and better chance.

We're kind of speaking into existence right now. Okay, let's stop. It's not happening. I mean, it's not. Well, to be honest with you, though, it wouldn't be the worst thing for us if it did happen. Right? It would help Louisville's resume. Kenny Payne's gone anyway.

And Duke, we're kind of competing with D. for seeding. So it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, Ryan, if Louisville won. So what's the spread? 96. 20 and a half. 20 and a half. 20 and a half.

On draft kings right now. Self respect, Louisville. All right, let me say something about draft. We hit our parlay. Yeah. Eat it. How about that? So most of our basketball parlayes, Drew does.

I've helped with a couple. We had Ryan do one that we lost every leg. but we got one yesterday. I was driving, so I couldn't do it. And I just sent it to Drew and said, pick one. Drew, as soon as you sent that, I thought, okay, this is this one's hit. Shannon, you liked it too. You even texted and said, I like this.

Yeah, this one's going to hit tonight. That was a great one. More than seven and a half points for Reed, 15 for Antonio, and then win and score more than 76. And a half, as long as we, winning was the hardest one. The rest, Drew, hit easy. felt good. Felt good about the cats all day yesterday. I bet every KSR parlay,

but I bet three times my normal amount. I was feeling so. You did good then. I put 75 American dollars on that parlay. So we had a good night at the Franklin household. And like I said, even when they were down 13 in the second half, it just felt like a night Kentucky was going to turn it on

and win that game. And it felt that when we built the parlay too. So I expected it to win. Yeah, I think I had my second best night of the year, college basketball gambling. And it was all Kentucky, Ryan. Because I had a big parlay that died because Mark Pope beat Kansas. But it was all Kentucky.

I thought Kentucky would win. I put a significant on them to win. I felt good about Reed's points. I felt good about Antonio's points. And like all of those things went. So if you were on Kentucky, I had three different people, Shannon, write me and say they did that $1,000 draft king's bonus thing.

Yeah. And used it on the game. And that means they all won like. $2,500 off of... Can you imagine that? For your very first bet? Your very first bet. It doesn't get any better than that. Yes.

Three different people wrote me and said they did that. Oh, my. And if you were going to do it, that was a pretty good game to do it because of the payoff. It was. You don't get Kentucky plus money very often. Not very often. I couldn't believe the odds that we had, even on that parlay. You know, a lot of people came in here last night during the pregame show just to scan the

And I think you would like it too, Matt. I will say this, there was a lot of like, a lot. What was the average age? A lot of 40, 50, 60-year-old women that were going crazy over.

Especially buzz cut Jordan Michael. Okay, slow down. I'm not trying to go get, you know, I don't need to go get married. They were thirsty. They were very thirsty. They women were thirsty. How do you know they were thirsty? Oh, they were bumping and grinding and jiving all over the place.

Were there any men there but you? There were a couple guys, I think, that had to fall on the sword like I did last night. Yeah. Again, though, a good place for you to be, Matt. That's true. A lot of ladies. Yeah. Well, he missed out.

I did miss out, unfortunately. But I didn't get to watch the game, which I thought was pretty good. One person writes, Matt, love this team. I love how happy they are. I love how much they get along. How about Aaron Bradshaw on the bitch? See, I love that through about this team. Aaron Bradshaw might now have the most disappointing season so far of the guys on the team.

He's basically now the third big man off the bench. But you saw him cheering the entire game. He was consoling Hugo when he got that foul. I think that's always been one of Cal's best traits, his ability to bring guys together. And Drew, I think you saw it last night. Definitely. There's been some special groups where you can tell they really like each other. But I don't know if anybody will reach the levels of these guys,

even like a Jordan Burks, who talked about NBA aspirations when he got here, and, you know, he's just not going to play much moving forward. But he is on the end of the bench clapping just as hard as the guy that's about to check in. It's like that across the whole roster. Even last night, Dillingham is screaming for the ball at the end, doesn't get it. You know he wanted it, and he's jumping up and down for Reed, cheering harder than anyone else in the building. So this group really loves each other, even though some of them aren't on the path they thought they'd be.

It doesn't seem to change their attitude with the team. Here's the thing I loved about that last play. You had four guards in there, which was very smart. DJ Wagner tried to beat his man off the dribble. He didn't get it. He had Reed right behind him. He had Reeves to his left and he had dealing him to his right. Ryan, whoever he had chosen to pass two, I would have 100% confidence in making that shot.

And that has not something that's been the case in a long time. Yeah, and I'm glad you brought that up because DJ did. He took it as far as he could go. And I think the point guard's supposed to just take it as far as you can go and then kick it out. And you said like those three guys, any of those three, I'm confident. I would have been confident with any of them taking the shot. Reed ended up with the best look because Wagner had drawn his man too,

whereas Dillingham and Antonio's man were still on him. And then obviously Reed did what he did. So it was excellent. Jimmy Dyke, Shannon, seemed to get on a lot of people's nerve yesterday. I don't know what it was. I think it was in part the always saying the guy guarding Antonio was an NBA defender as Antonio scored play after play. Saying things weren't fouls.

What do you think about Jimmy? I like Jimmy, but what do you think? I like Jimmy in his jet. He never really got on my nerves. I mean, I feel like all the guys that were sort of obnoxious broadcasters have retired. So I'm fine with Jimmy. All right. So let's take Jimmy.

That's a great question. Yeah, it is. That's a great question. Go ahead. One other thing, Matt, real quick. You always say there has to be consequences when you make a mistake. And you made Ryan walk four miles of the day. All right.

I appreciate the call. But let's stick with your good question. Okay. Antonio Reeves will be first team. I think Dilling. So do they only do five guys? I can't remember. Did they go to 10 at some point?

I think it's five, but they have a lot of ties sometimes. So there could be like even seven if there's a tie. I'm going to go Reeves makes first team, Dillingham makes second, and Shepard maybe makes second or third. I think that's what they'll do. What about you, what about you, Drew? I mean, there's a lot of good people, guards in the conference. But Shepard, if he does this a few more times, he's number one in steals in the conference. He's up there and assist, maybe like third or fourth.

He's up there, getting there up there and scoring a little bit, at least in the top 50s. So what are you doing? We got 30 seconds, 20 seconds. I think he could play his way all the way into first.
