You can do camping and glamping here at Lockridge Park. And Ryan, a really cool place. This is part of why I like doing these shows around the state. I didn't even know this was here, and then you pull up, and it's an awesome environment. I got here early and took the tour. I was blown away.

I mean, Billy and Marissa stayed in the container room, and it's like a five-star hotel room. I mean, they have a hot tub. I mean, it's awesome. They've got Conestogne wagons you can stay in. They've got big cylinder concrete. I'm going to make a suggestion. We should consider altering the name container room, because it doesn't give it enough credit for how nice it is in there. It sounds like you're going to be in there with Tupperware, but it's actually,

extremely nice. The container room they gave, Billy was the one who came down last night. They treated him like he was a king. He and his fiancee. It was extremely nice place. Yeah, yeah. That's not when you think camping. It's not what they have out here. It is definitely glamping. And I like the view we see right behind us. You can actually see the lake. They're talking about putting in ziplines and more activities going on. Sounds like the place is just going to keep growing. I would suggest if you're somebody like you want to get away, one of the problems about Lexington is, you know, if you want to get somewhere out in a rural you kind of have to go, you know, go a little ways.

This is, what, 35 minutes from Lexington, and you can feel like you're completely out in a rural area and can camp. And, you know, I don't like to camp. Yeah. Like, I don't want to take a tent or put something in the ground and get dirty. This is already here for you. You could just walk in. It looks nice, and then you can leave.

That's my kind of camping. That's what they call glamping right there. You've got electricity and all the other amenities you would normally have. Try to tell Billy, you know, he's got a wedding coming up. This would be a great place to have his reception and wedding and all right here in one. Did they have a television? So you're saying I can watch TV. They get it right there.

They got the game on. I don't think I was staying in this room. In your room, they had a television. Oh, listen, how could you. They had a big TV. You could sit in a hot tub and have a big screen TV while you're sitting in a hot tub. I might come here tomorrow if you all have an extra place. But they do corporate events.

You should invite the KSR guys to come out and stay here and all on your dime. Thank you very much. I'm already paying for the SEC tournament. That's coming. 29-2-80-2287. I'm a little tired. You all are going to have to lift me up with energy. I drove last night to Columbus and back and watched my Carolina hurricanes.

It's not as far as you think. Like you think Columbus is like far away. It's actually about three hours. Yeah. But went. It was exciting. I say this all the time, but I mean it. There is no sport that is so much better in person than it is on television than hockey.

Like hockey in person. and everybody's like rolling their eyes. Go to a hockey game. I'm serious. Like it's like the last four minutes of that game last night were some of the most exciting things. Carolina had one goal lead. So Columbus pulled their goalie.

So it's like six on five. And then Carolina would try to hit it across the court into the goal to like put it away and they'd miss every time. And I'd go crazy. But they ended up winning and it was a lot of fun. I had a great time. And the people first, as I'm walking out, first person I see goes,

are you mad, John? Kentucky Sports Radio, and it was a listener to the show who is a Carolina fan that happens to live in Columbus. Well, I have a couple questions. Was there a fight in front of you? Did you get to bang on the glass? I did. Not a fight. I did bang on the glass.

I went up, I walked up and it looked kind of stupid, Shannon, because there was nothing going on at the moment. But I just went up and went, rah! Crazy man, just banging on the glass. What's weird about hockey is the players hit the glass as like a sign of affection. So in the pregame, I guess, skate, there were kids like all the way around the ring with like signs and stuff that was like, I love you, Svetznikov or whatever. And when the players would see one that was for them, they'd take their stick, Drew, and hit it against the glass, which would scare me. But it was actually supposed to be like, hey, kid, I acknowledge you.

So right here. But it looks like they were trying, I mean, if you didn't see the glass, you'd think they were trying to hit these children with sticks. Oh, first time I went to Lexington and Ice Center. for UK. Someone tapped the glass and I'm the only person the whole row that jumped. So I didn't know that was a thing. But the kids really get into it too. You're right about it being atmospheres. The sport on TV versus being there. It's not even the same thing. And I was on the third row. When you are sitting that close, like the skill of those dudes is crazy. Like to be able to move on a dime and skate. It's awesome. Now the one thing

about Columbus, when they score Shannon, they have a cannon, like a Civil War-sized. Canon. And when they score, I mean, I don't think they shoot like real bombs. I would hope not, yeah. But they, they fire it. It's the loudest thing I've ever heard of. Yeah, inside. I've heard of cannons, you know, like at a football stadium. And I feel like they do it at the moment you're not ready. Right. Like everybody's celebrating and then they wait a few seconds and then bam. And I jumped. They scored two goals, Columbus. I jumped both times. I thought I was shot. So how was Kucci? Did you get Kucci? I did see Koochee? I took you all. I took a picture of Coochie for you.

And I sent it to you, and he didn't play. He had the night out. So he was the backup goalie, so he didn't. He went Coochie as the night off. Happens to me all the time. These children. I know. See, you and I are the much more mature of these two.

Were you one of the few Carolina fans there? There was more than I thought. I mean, I would have thought Carolina Hurricanes in Columbus. How many could there be? there was actually, I'd say, you know, 10% of the crowd was, but when you saw one, you know how this is, Drew. It's like when you see a Kentucky fan in a row game, you saw one, you just give them a nod. Oh, there's a universal.

And then when we won at the end, we're the only people left standing there. I stayed till the end. Did you? Stayed to the end. Because, you know, I mean, you want to beat traffic? Well, I don't get to go very much, and I'd already figured out my escape. Okay. Got out, you know, found the way around.

You know, that's my favorite. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, that is. And then, you know, in hockey, too, I would imagine there's like, what, two going scored a game probably on average. So you could come back, I guess, in a hockey match, right? So you've got to stick around to the very end. It's not really over until it's over. Like in the last three, I mean, hockey fans, in the last three minutes, if they're down

a goal, they pull their goal. So all of a sudden, it's like they got one more player than you. So when they pull their goalie, it gets really exciting. And it was actually a lot of them. I've actually never been to a hockey game. You should go. I'm telling you. I watch it on TV some because I like them. But watching it on TV, especially if you don't care about the teams, Drew, it's boring.

But if you're there, I'm telling you, there's no sport better there than hockey. Completely agree. And I'd heard that for years until recently going to see the Predators. I'm the biggest Predators fan in the arena, but outside the arena, I can't name a player. It's just a completely different experience watching on TV and being there. And I don't think people realize Columbus is three hours. Nashville's three, three and a half hour. So there's a game not by it close by.

But anyway, I had a great time. Now we get ready for tomorrow. Cats in Arkansas. Anybody here going to the game tomorrow? A couple. We're going to get to you all because the cats in Arkansas play in Rupp Arena, 130. I've had that time wrong.

We're opening up the bar, by the way, early at 10 a.m. For those of you that would like to come, we're having an early opening tomorrow since the game's at 1.30. Kentucky's going to be favored heavily, but Arkansas's been playing a little better until they went lost of Andy last week. These next two games, Arkansas and Vandy, at home, should be wins. I think if you get wins in those games, you're guaranteed to probably not drop below a five-seat in the NCAA tournament. If you just take care of business in two home games, I think Arkansas is the better of the two teams, Ryan, honestly.

Are you at all concerned? I hate to ask you this, because usually you're wrong when you say no, but are you? Well, you know, the game at Arkansas was really tight for what, 25, 30 minutes, where it came to? down to the final five minutes for Kentucky footway to pull it out. They play Kentucky really well because they match up pretty well with Kentucky, you know? So I don't know what the over will be, but I'm going to bet the over. I don't know what the spread will be, but I'm betting Kentucky because I feel good. They're playing so well right now I like them.

On Cal's show the other night, he called it a trap game. I kind of like that he said that out loud. It means behind the scenes he's making sure the players know not to overlook a team. They've already beaten on the road in a situation where they could be looking ahead to Tennessee or the madness. I think Kentucky's going to be ready to play. I really believe they turned to corner recently. Cal's really going with the lineup that's the most productive. They're playing the most minutes right now.

I think they're going to finish the season very strong. If you watch Arkansas this year, it's the same thing. They'll stay with you and then they'll quit. Like they're the quitness team I've seen in the year. They will play teams close for a while. But if you get a 10 or 12 point lead, they will quit. So the key thing for Kentucky tomorrow, get out there, Get a lead. Do not let them be down one at halftime because they do have a lot of talent.

They're kind of like the COVID-Kentucky team in the sense that they had so much talent. You're like, why did this team not play better? That's kind of how this one is. So, Shannon, you just got to get out early and just like make them quit. Make them realize, hey, we want to finish this season and go home. I'm not really sure what happened to this Arkansas team. I thought they were projected to be halfway decent this year. And they have talent.

They got a lot of talent. Yeah, but, you know, I would like to hopefully see Trey Mitchell back. You know, we need to get him back into the swing, especially since we're now in March. It'd be nice to work him in against Vandy, against Arkansas. That way we're not bringing him in cold against Tennessee. Do you know if he's playing? You've been the Trey Mitchell whisper. I would not be shocked if he plays tomorrow.

Yeah, like he's still sore. Not going to play a lot of minutes, but I expect him to play tomorrow. This would be good over these next two games, Drew, to play him. 10 to 15 minutes getting back because the Tennessee. game, you know, they're a team. I actually think he can give a lot of benefit. It would be nice to have him kind of as close to 100% as we can by then. Yeah, I don't know.

You kind of want the lineup to shorten now, but you've got to have Trey Mitchell involved somehow. And really, you need all the depth as you go into SEC tournament, wanting to win three there. And then, of course, with this team, you want to win six and then NCAA. So it's important to just get his legs underneath them before he gets here. There is still a way for Kentucky to tie for first place in the SEC. That's not beyond question.

It's not likely, but it's, there's a way. But I do think if you beat Arkansas and Vandy, I'm not going to say certain, but you're probably going to at least be a five-seat. You're probably going to at least find a way to be a five-seed. I think that's, the sixth seed to me is the worst thing you could be because you'll be playing at 9-30 on Thursday and Friday night. I don't think you can win like that.

With the five, you play at 3.30 on Thursday, 3.30 on Friday. I think there's a really good chance, Ryan. We're either going to be a five-seat. or four seed. That's, I think, that's the most likely scenario in the SEC tournament. And oddly, I think it's the most likely scenario in the NCAA tournament. We're either going to be a four-seed or a five-seat in both. And then you just see what happens once you get started. Yeah, you're right.

They should take care of business these next two home games. And if you're able to go down to Knoxville, where you've played well in recent years, Knoxville, win that game. Well, then that opens up a lot of doors for you. Yeah, you got Alabama will play Tennessee. And I think they play Saturday, right? they play Saturday 9. That game is probably for the SEC title,

but while you're watching, if we end up as a four or five, whoever wins that game, Drew, is probably who we're going to sit there and look at in the semifinals of the SEC tournament if we get there. Yeah, that's a big one coming up. If Tennessee were to win that, and then Alabama goes to Florida, that's when we can dream dreams if Florida were to beat them

because then you have a decent, or at least a shot at winning the SEC. But for that seating, we need Carolina to lose South Carolina, having that head-to-head tiebreaker. We need them to lose out. What's crazy is South Carolina, who I think is by far the worst of these teams. South Carolina is the one that gets us because they have the tiebreaker on us. They're the ones that like we need them to lose.

We needed them to lose to A&M the other night and they didn't because they own the tiebreaker on us. So that's the problem with South Carolina. That game went, we go back to that game a lot because South Carolina, the way they played us defensively, a lot of teams are trying to duplicate that now. They kind of exposed us. And that worries me if we play them again in the SEC tournament. That's not a good matchup for Kentucky. It's kind of unique.

If you end up in like a three-way tie, you have the tiebreaker. But if it's just South Carolina, they have the head-to-head. Uh-huh. 859-280, 2287. We will open up the lines. How many people here are Garrett County, folks? How many are Boyle County? And then how many Fayette County?

Sleeps four concrete tubes. Again, it's a lot nicer than it sounds with a concrete tube, but that sleeps too, and then they have the shipping container apartment. Which one did you have, Billy? You had the shipping container. You had the shipping container.

Okay, that was the big one with the hot tub, et cetera. They're also going to have a pool coming as well. It's located on Harrington Lake here in Lancaster, 859-280-2287. Shannon, I saw this yesterday, and I said this is a Shannon the dude question. Okay. A guy for Texas Tech, he's a linebacker, and he's entering the NFL draft, and he was doing an interview with the media. And in the interview with the media, he was asked a number of questions,

and one of the question was if he ever wanted to go to space. Okay. Did you hear this? No, no. And he said, and he was not kidding, that he does not believe space exists and that there are no other planets. He was like, I don't believe in space or things like that. or any other planets.

So, like, I wouldn't go because it doesn't exist. I've never heard anybody say I don't believe in space. That's what he said. Now, here's my question for you. Yeah. He's in the NFL Combine. He's projected to be, I think, a third-round linebacker. Are you reconsidering drafting the guy if he doesn't believe in space?

Now, let me acknowledge something. The University of Texas Tech, this dude graduated. So if you're Texas Tech, like, that doesn't say a lot about your diploma system. If you get through four years of school and look up and see that and go, that's not there. Do you, would you not draft a guy who doesn't believe there is space or other planets? I'm drafting the guy based on his talent, not necessarily on his beliefs of whether or not space exists. I'm thinking about beliefs. Isn't there a little bit of sports that, like, you've got to have.

some sort of ability to think and some sort of intellect in order, I mean, like, football, you got to make decisions. Do I want my guy who makes decisions to not be able to look up and see stars and realize that they're up there? Like, is there a sense in which you want that? I mean, I'm not saying he's dumb. Yeah. No, he's dumb.

Okay. I'll say he's dumb. But, I mean, he is still a talented player, right? So I'm drafting on talent, not on the guy's dumb comments. that he made. Why are they asking him if he wants to go to space anyway? It was like supposed to be like a friendly thing. Yeah. It was just like, we want to get some of your personnel. And they're like, well, we weren't expecting that answer.

Yeah, well, you know his agent had to be like, shut up, shut up, shut up. Yeah. Just say no next question. Would you, would you want him on your, like, again, all other things being equal. Like if you're trying to decide him versus me, you're going to pick him. But rather him versus another guy, would it have an effect on you? Let's see. Excuse me, got a little something in the throat. I'll tell you where there will be space.

There will be space on my draft board where I had his name because I will move on from him. I don't know. These agents have to tell their guys, just go to the combine, run, do the bench press, come home. Don't become a national story. But every year's, I mean, Darying Knaar got very political. Yeah. And whatever, that's his beliefs, but it's like, don't do it in that moment where they're just, you're under the biggest microscope.

So I would say just that he didn't know better to just kind of. blend in at the combine. To be fair to his agent, though, he probably looked at the guy and said, okay, if they ask you about politics, don't say anything. Like, if they ask you about vaccines, don't say anything. They probably didn't think it was possible he would deny the existence of space. Like, he probably, that was probably not something they thought would come up, Ryan, and then it did, and then they ended up in trouble. If there was one position on the field, you want your dudes to maybe be a little crazy, it could be linebacker. So maybe you're thinking, But don't you have to be smart as a linebacker?

You have to get in space. Maybe you literally have to play in space. Maybe he is smart. How smart can you be if you don't know there's, if you do not believe there's space and other places? Like, I mean, I can be talked into you still draft him, but you are not going to talk me into a dude being smart who cannot acknowledge that he looks up in the sky and see stars.

You're not going to convince me of that. No. I think Kyrie Irving's a little off his rocker, but yet I would draft him to be on my basketball team. He didn't do it the night before the draft, though. You can not believe in space once you sign that contract. That's exactly right. Good point. Yeah, notice Aaron Rogers didn't become Aaron Rogers until he'd already won some MVP's.

Then he was like, you know what? Get hired first, then do all that. There's the level of conspiracy that we didn't land on the moon, which is crazy. But then not even acknowledging that the moon exists is a whole other ball of craziness. The whole sun thing? Yeah, that's not real. Does he think we have a roof? And live in a dome?

I don't know. I actually would like to interview the guy now to see. I want to make a recommendation for all of you this weekend, all right? At some point, the game's early Saturday. So you're going to get Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and Sunday. On my drive last night, I listened to something that was one of the best things that I have listened to, which was John Wall has a new point. podcast and it's called what's it called uh i have it point point something point something

whatever it dang it's point it's point it's i wish i could tell somebody will send it to me it's point something but it's if you put in john wall podcast you'll find it he's hosting a podcast his first guest was demarcus cousins oh my now let me just say there's some cussing so you need to be okay with that but john law interviews demarcus cousin and Drew, the first hour is just the two of them talking about Kentucky. And it is as enjoyable a thing as I've ever heard. First of all, if you're old enough to remember the 2010 season, which I think most people listening to this show are,

they talk about how they decided to go to Kentucky, Big Blue Madness, they go game by game and remember games. They talk about crying in the locker room after. after West Virginia. It's like an hour of the two biggest people in my favorite year of Kentucky basketball just reminiscing about what happened. And you can tell listening to both of them that, I mean, DeMarcus says it was the happiest year of my life. And they both said if NIL had existed, they both would have stayed. They were like, DeMarcus said, if I knew I could make $2 million a year, I'd have signed for four years, whether or not.

he would have or not. That's what he said. I loved it. I'm serious. I was just sitting there smiling the entire time. I highly, highly recommend listening to that over the weekend. Definitely. It's an hour long, and I've already listened to it twice. With all due respect to Shannon here, got in the car this morning after I'd already heard it, turned it on again to hear it all the way through. It's so great just hearing those guys, and it's so different. At one point, John's mega fun to Marcus for watching Paul Patrol with his kids. They're like talking about being and dads. The Kentucky stuff's incredible. Even if you don't hear the whole thing, just find the West Virginia and Big Blue

Madness parts because he talks about Wall stealing the dance. But then he says, honestly, I couldn't have carried it like you did. We needed you to be our leader so all of us could rise. He talks about the West Virginia game. And DeMarcus is like, if you had just given me the ball, we'd have won by 20. He was like, y'all took threes the entire game instead of giving me the ball in the one-three-one, and they're sitting there arguing about that. And Joe Missoula was guarding me.

It's like Joe Missoula was guarding me. I'd have had 45 points. It's the best. And John Wall is going to be on the show next week to promote the podcast. I think all true blue fans would enjoy hearing the stories these guys tell from their days here. Last thing before we go to the phones, I just want you to note something. from that happened yesterday that sort of goes to a conversation that we have had and will continue to have, which is when people go, we'll Reed Shepherd come back for another year. Caitlin Clark, now granted, Caitlin Clark's a little bit different situation, but Caitlin Clark declared for the draft yesterday. And what's interesting about that to me is that Caitlin Clark is in a situation that Reed Shepard would not be, where she will make less money likely as a salary in the W.N.

NBA than in college. But when they did a story about why she would do it, they said, people have this assumption that she would make an NIL money, what she could make in endorsements in the pros. And they were like, no, she will make significantly more money in the pros endorsements. Why? Because we across the world, they follow the WMBA. They don't follow college basketball. And so to get Nike wants her in the WMBA,

where even though college basketball might be bigger in the United States, worldwide having her in the WMBA is a better thing. That goes for men's basketball too. If you're Nike and you want to give Reed Shepherd a shoe deal, and Drew and I agree, he'll get a shoe deal. Oh, yeah. I mean, he'll get a shoe deal. He'll probably get a good shoe deal.

Having him at Kentucky is great. but having him in a league where they sell shoes in China, Japan, Europe, et cetera, that's a whole other set of circumstances. And so I think, you know, I'm not saying it's only he knows what he'll do. But this notion that there's more money for Reed Shepard in Kentucky than the NBA is just not true. Now, there might be enough money where he still would want to be here, but he'll make literally $10 million probably if he signs up. If he came back here, I think that number is going to be a lot less.

I would think his shoe deal alone would top anything he would make here in NIL money. Just one shoe deal. Then you'd add all these other endorsements he will get when he goes to the NBA. If you're thinking of business sense, it's a smart move. And as much as we love him here, Drew, he's a Kentucky phenomenon. on. The rest of the country, I mean, they may know who he is, but he's not like,

he's not like a superstar. The moment he goes in the NBA draft, that's a different situation. The whole country will know who. Yeah, I mentioned this yesterday, too. People act like if he goes to the NBA, it just he gets a salary and that's it where he can do car dealerships in Kentucky. He can still do that in the NBA, or he can also do Nike,

State Farm, all the big brands that are going to do much more than anything in Kentucky could even come close to. That's not even including pension, guaranteed contract, didn't your second contract faster? If he could get to a third contract, then it's not even close to a conversation. So as much as we want him, he would have to be crazy to come back. Now, he might just be crazy enough.

He could be the one, but I think it would be insane. All of that's just to say, if he's projecting the lottery ship and it were my kid, okay, because I think that's another thing. It's easy for us to tell another person's kid, oh, you ought to come back for my entertainment. if it was your kid and you have to tell him to go, right? Absolutely, especially if he's a lottery pick. If he's a lot.

Now, if he somehow, which I don't think he will, but let's just play it out, he somehow fell to like a late first round projection. Maybe, yeah, maybe then you consider coming back. But if you're a lottery pick, you have to go. But when he does those shoe commercials, we've got to find him a better shirt, okay? Can we do that at least?

I've listened to it twice already, like Drew. That team was just so special, and I feel like this team is really creeping up on them. I'm glad we're getting worked out. I think we're going to have a great day tomorrow. But that podcast made the same. That was my favorite Big Blue Magnus ever with the Marcusons on Mall. What was their favorite big food makers? Well, I mean, that's the only answer to me.

I mean, Ryan, you've been to more of them than I have. I mean, I know there have been ones that were cool with the, we talk about it every year about the various stuff that happened. But just for excitement, for feeling like UK basketball was back, I don't know there'll ever be one that was better than that one. No, that's it. Now, with that, I did enjoy the ones at Memorial Coliseum more than Rupp Arena. I felt like I lost something at Rupp Arena.

Do you think they should go back? Yeah. I do. I think they should go back. There was just something about being at Memorial where the environment and the energy and, you know, Batman and Robin come out or whatever it is. Bill Kattley popped out of a cake. It was always just something special, I think, when you're in Memorial Coliseum. I think this would never happen, but to really make it good again, take it off TV, because that's what made it feel special.

And now they build it around TV. There's commercial breaks. There's a lot of talking. Don't Memorial and make it where you've got to be there to see it except for the highlights. Now, I know that will never happen because the SEC Network, but that's how you could get it back to what it was. Yeah, I think if you just have it at Memorial, Shannon, 8,000 people make it mostly students. Yep, right? And make it – because that's another thing.

Make it students and people like Marsha who camp out, right? Like you get 8,000 people. You get people who care. You know, normally the tickets go up. Some people don't even show up. Yeah. If you do it to where it's students and then the people who camp out and really care, I think you'll have a heck of an environment. Yeah, you put it in a smaller venue.

You make it a more sought-after ticket. it. You know, Rupparino is great for games, but for an event like that, you need it to be a smaller crowd. I think so, too. But again, it was great. I don't want to spoil it, but it was great listening to them to talk about Big Blue Madness because DeMarcus, I mean, you've heard the story before. DeMarcus was supposed to be the one to do that dance, and he got up on that lift and he got scared. And he was like, I'm scared of heights, so he didn't feel like he could dance. He was holding on. So John then took it.

And DeMarcus was like, I've been waiting 15 years to say, you took my dance. That was supposed to be me. And John had some line like, don't stare your blessing in the mouth or something, which I didn't totally understand the meeting, but I got it a little bit. It was great here and didn't we joke with each other. Imagine if we now thought of it, you know, going back in history as the DeMarcus cousins dance instead of the John Wall dance. I don't think it would have been a smooth.

Also, like, didn't John Wall call up DeMarcus and Pramette? rank them say he was going to Duke. Yeah. I like that one. I like that tip bit too. That one's online, so it's not a spoiler. But Wall and Cousins agreed to go the same school. Cousins already commits to Kentucky.

And Wall calls Cousins an hour before the thing and says, hey, man, I don't want you to hear what everybody else does. I'm going to Duke. Just wanted to let you know and hung up. And made DeMarcus wait for an hour thinking he had left him at Kentucky, which I thought was a, I thought that was a great. I love it. You tell they're really good friends. That part's funny because Cousins didn't even want Wall to go on his visit to Duke

because Duke hadn't called Cousins and Wall went anyway but he's like, I knew we weren't going there. He's from Mobile Alabama's nickname's Boogie. We're not going to Duke. Who's up next? Jonathan. Jonathan. Jonathan.

And I travel to Spokane for work. for a bit, and I just want to say Spokane is awesome, and I want the BBN to get really excited about going.

I know it's far, but they've got this massive waterfall downtown, the 100 acres of park in the middle. I know I sound like I work for the Chamber of Commerce. Yeah, do you work for the tourism department? I don't. I just built the park. They have wonderful restaurants, nice hotels. They do. They got all that stuff.

It surprised me traveling from Kentucky to Spokane, how nice it was. I don't think it would be an awesome place to play. No, no, I wouldn't mind it, and I appreciate the call because I've never been, and I don't know that there's any other scenario where I will go. But I do think, for those of you sort of looking at you're trying to figure out, do I want to go watch and play, I think if you look at the way it's going to play out, Spokane or Salt Lake City is our most likely scenario. Spokane and Salt Lake City, you know, we may be sitting Kentucky out on the West Coast

and then maybe playing in the regional in L.A. I mean, this may be a West Coast path. What year did we do that? Was that 98? What year did we go to the Final Four through the West Coast? Well, that 98? Was it 96 then? No, 97.

It was 97. They were in Salt Lake City and then played out in San Francisco or a lot. Yeah, it was 97. So 97. So we may have that situation again. Shannon, did you know March 19th is the first day of spring? No, I didn't. I thought it was like the 22nd.

I have a bill that is coming out that I think, don't judge it by me telling you who's bringing it out. Okay, this is brought out by the Biden administration. Don't judge it. You're still going to like it. I think everybody's going to agree to it. It would ban chip companies from having, it would make them stop the shrinkification of chips. You know how the bags get bigger, but the amount of chips get fewer? They were going to say they cannot pump in that extra air to make it look like you have a full bag without the chips.

They will require a minimum amount of chips per bag. I love it. to not deceive consumers, I feel like universally that should be supported, because you and I both know, there used to be more chips in these bags. They just blow them full of air now, and there's only like six chips inside. You go to the vending machine, you got that nice, looks like a full bag of chips, and you open it up, and there's like three chips in there, and I go, what a rip-off. I agree.

And apparently, I don't know, in the last 11 years, this article said, the bags are the same size, but they have half as many chips as they did 11 years ago. So half as many chips with the same size bag, they're going to require there to be a chip-to-bag ratio, Drew, and I like the chip-to-bag ratio. We need that. 100% behind this. I'm glad we're finally doing stuff that matters. I've said forever, why are we going to the moon? We got problems here.

Why do we need robots? I'm pouring my rumba out of the Christmas tree. I don't need a robot yet. We have current problems. The ticket thing, they've been focusing on that recently with the fees. Yes. Martin Luther King Day should be the day after the Super Bowl. Just do those kind of things. Then I think there's a lot of people would go, you know what? I'm in. Got my vote. I'm the type of voter who would actually vote for somebody that addresses those issues. And I'm being completely serious.

I'll put a sign in my yard. If you stop Netflix from raising the price one more time, you have my vote. Yeah. Like that was going to be harder to accomplish. Just make my life easier and better. That's it. Second thing, did you see the lawsuit from the guy with the UK season tickets.

Did you see this lawsuit? I did. I actually think it's kind of an interesting lawsuit. Some people online are just like, so people didn't see. A guy whose family has had season tickets for like 40 years. He sits, it didn't say where he sits, but he has very, very good seats, like third, fourth, fifth row, something like that. UK is going to all of the major ticket holders. And I'm talking about like the first however many rows.

and basically saying, we're taking your tickets. Not like they're basically saying you can still have tickets, but if you're in one of these first few rows, you're going to have to make a big donation to the K fund or we're putting your tickets up for auction to the highest bidder. So essentially taking what used to be the K fund like loyalty and changing it for the super elite tickets. Now I'm just talking like the first handful of rows.

and basically putting them up to auction. Whoever pays the most gets them. This guy says, when I donated 10 years ago, you gave me a contract that said, I had these tickets for 10 years. I got five years left, and you can't do this, and he sues them, and we'll see what happens.

What do you think? Now, when the ticket thing came out, a lot of people were like, see, we need to get these old people out of here and put students. But I just want people to understand. That's not what the lawsuit is about. They are not taking it away from the top people to give it students. They're saying, we're taking it away from the long-time season ticket holders

to give it to whoever will pay the most for it. I would argue, Ryan, that's not going to get you a better atmosphere. Chances are the people that have the most money are actually likely to cheer the least during the games. Do you – what do you think? Whose side are you on? Are you on the side of the longtime folks, or do you think, hey, schools with those elites, seats, you need to pay for them. You know, this story has slowly been brewing and it's starting to come to a head here

when things like this, this guy files this lawsuit. By the way, this isn't an old kook that filed the lawsuit. This is the longtime head of the Kentucky Bar Association. Okay, so this is a lawyer. I don't think it's frivolous. I mean, this is a dude who headed the Kentucky Bar Association for a long time who brought it. But go ahead.

So, UK, you know, they want to reward the big donors, the people that give them the most money, they want to reward them with these seats. But this guy, if I read it right again, I think you said it, he's got a contract written where it says he has it for 10 years. Well, that 10 years is not up yet. So I think he's got a very good case, even though we all know why Kentucky's doing it. They just want to generate more money, more revenue by giving it to the donors, those lower level seats. I've had a couple people in the last few months tell me, you know, we're busy caught up in this team and, you know, we're all focused on that. But there's a mess coming with however they reshuffle that.

It just sounds like highest bidder is going to get the best seat. people that have already had that spot. That's just one example I think you're going to run into. He's just the first to put a lawsuit out there. I'm on this guy's side. If he's got it in black and white, it should be cut and dry. He says right there he's got another five years. They should honor that.

I don't say this to be like crazy, but how much money does this unit, like how much do they need? We are about to sign. Greed. And I think we just signed an insanely high television deal where we're going to be like where each school's getting like $75 million. just in television. We have Rupp Arena. I can't imagine those people in the first four or five rows

aren't paying a lot as it is. Like, Ryan, how much money do they need? I mean, I don't understand the, like, people who've had their tickets and their families for 40 or 50 years say move back so we can just get people. I don't get it. Yeah, it definitely goes against what we all won at Rupp Arena, and that's to have a better environment around the court

that we see at other arenas. you can't just that's just not their philosophy. Yeah, imagine what I would say to you is if you think the first four or five rows at Rupp aren't good now, replace them with the highest bidder. Basically, you're going to be replacing them with probably corporations. Yeah. And whoever it is that they give them to, I just, that's not going to be better, in my opinion, in any way.

No, and if it's the highest bidder, I don't know that person, but are they going to go to the Tuesday night, whatever state, November game? Yeah, it might be empty sometimes. So, you know, it seems like a bad idea, but it's moving. forward. I've heard a lot of complaining about it already. Might not be. Well, this lawsuit, who knows maybe if that'll have an effect? I think that's that's who a lot of the major powers that be at Louisville, meaning like a lot of the donors want. But I do think it's interesting. Rick Bosich, who speaks, when he writes, you know it's the old Louisville guard talking.

He wrote a column like they were going to bring Kenny back. Wow. He did double his wins. That's true. Few coaches can do that in one season. I mean, yeah, who else has done that? I'll wait. They can't bring him back.
