I think if you count the places where I've done it by myself, we're now at about 81 different counties where we've done a show around state about 39 to go. I'm going to at some point maybe one summer just do those 39 to go. Go for it. You knock yourself out.

No, I think you said you by yourself. I think I heard you say that. I've been to Wolf County, been a natural bridge and the gorge, but I've never been to Rogers, Kentucky, and it reminds me a lot of Otwell. It's a little bitty town there. I'll crawl it right down the road. A little update on what we talked about earlier. The schools in Wolf County and now also Brethick County are on lockdown.

The police announced there was a shooting near Bethany, Kentucky. So I don't, gentlemen here a minute ago said that is right next to Brothic County line. So prayers to all those folks, hopefully, but the suspect is still at large. So, you know, hopefully, hopefully it gets taken care of. But we're thinking everybody here in this area. 859-280, excuse me, 2287. Carl Town, first of all, a couple, an update. I said, Jamal Murray went the top five.

He apparently went seventh, but Deerrin Fox did go fifth. So we've had, Cal's only had six players going the top five. He could have two, Drew go this year. Let's do it. Let's add two to that list. had a little drought of guys in the green room being a big story on draft night. Let's get back to that. Yeah, well, definitely have two this year.

And then, well, let's do a little prediction. How many guys does Kentucky have get drafted this year? So, Reed and Rob, well, I mean, there's a lot of play. First of all, do they go in the draft? Okay, so that's one question is, do they enter the draft, first of all? And then secondly, do they get drafted? I'm going to, I'll go first. I'm going to say Reed, yes, and draft it.

Rob, yes, and drafted. I'm going to say Antonio Reeves gets drafted at some point in the draft. I'm going to say DJ Wagner goes at some point in the draft, and that's four. And I'm going to say five, but I don't know who the fifth will be. Could be Justin Edwards, could be Big Z. I'd be surprised if it was Bradshaw, but maybe. So I'm going to say five Kentucky dudes get drafted this year. What do you think?

I'll say six. I got Robin Reed. DJ will be my third off the board. I think in the second round, a contender will see Antonio Reeves and go, yes, he's 24, 25, or whatever. But he does not miss. We're adding him to get help right away. And then I think Edwards and Big Z are going to hear their names called. So you're going six.

And maybe Bradshaw. I mean See, I'm going to go seven Yeah, I might even go seven I think there's seven You think somebody would draft Aaron Bradshaw Yep, he's a seven-footer That's just going to attract

Somebody's going to take him I think he might Would not shot me at all If he entered the draft But Shannon I don't know I could be talked into six Seven I don't think so

I don't think Bradshaw's ready yet I think he comes back for another year So some other variables There's a couple variables to think of here First of all, Reed, I do think there's a shot. Now, if he's a top five, it would be crazy to come back, but I don't think it's crazy that it'll do it. I did a few weeks ago.

I now know a little bit about what he's going to be offered, and it's a lot. Still not as much as he would probably make going to the draft, but not like it would be enough that you'd sit there and go, well, this won't be the worst thing in the world. Sorry, when I hear a baby, my thoughts go into other places like. Like where am I?

And then I think another, Cal said, I've got a couple guys who probably need another year. Now, when he says that, he's not talking about a do or Jordan Berks. He's probably talking about, I think he's talking about Aaron Bradshaw. I mean, to me, when he said that, I don't think he's I think Drew when you hear that did you think he was talking about Aaron Bradshaw

Yeah but my list of who's leaving and who shouldn't leave those are different conversations I think some of these guys will go just because they came here You know Cal rarely says that and like Cal rarely will say I think so and so like he didn't say his name But me he doesn't have much these kids there are people making decisions for these guys that aren't them aren't Cal I mean that's that's what I worry about But he rarely puts it out publicly, Ryan, unless I think he might be paving the way to do it. You know what I mean? It wouldn't shock me. I think it wouldn't shock me if you had a second year out of here, Bradshaw.

It wouldn't shock me. I think the way, you know, the drafts not as strong this year, so I think Bradshaw may take advantage of that. But it's strong. It's not as strong in the top, but apparently it's pretty strong in the middle. So, like, people think this is the worst top ten picks in a long time. but that when you get from 10 to 40 or to 50, they think it's pretty good. And maybe Bradshaw-look,

they got, you know, Sompto's Cyril's coming in next year. Oguno reback, so he's got to compete again. They got a lot of people have four or seven-footers. That's another bet. What about Uganda? You think there's a chance he goes? I mean, his stock's never been higher, right? Yeah.

Than what it is right now. So if he has a chance, maybe so. All right, so let's rank who's, in your mind, coming back most likely. Do we all think a do is the most likely dude to be back? Yes. Probably so. At Kentucky. Yes. Because I think a dude like Jordan Berks or Joey Hart might come back, but just not here.

Yeah, I'll lean a dude. I mean, I can see a dude. Well, let's put this. I don't have anyone definitely coming back. How many dudes on the roster right now will be on the roster next year? For sure? Not just if you're guessing. How many?

I'm going to say three. Which three? A do, you go, and Berks. Because I think Berks maybe looking himself like, man, I'm coming in. I'm going to be a starter next year. Okay. Two. Hugo, or not Hugo,

Doing well. How are you all done? I'm amazing. Wonderful. I need your advice. Who's, who better? I've been a big fan of this team all season. From week one, I've placed a $20 future wager on the Cats to win the title.

I'm now up to $360. $50 wagered for a payout of $71. Wait a minute. So you add $20 every week? Every week I just place a $20 future bet. So I've done it every week this season. You stand to win a lot of money if we win the title. Yeah, well, 71.20 right now.

But here's my dilemma. Do I just go the next two weeks and place another 20 each week to make it an even 400? And when I get to the tournament, when do I start hedging? Do I do it at the future? Final four. The final eight? I'd say final four. I mean, if you hedge too early, you're not going to make any money if they win it.

I mean, I would say you now, you would have $400 invested. You'd probably be set to win close to $8,000. Right. I would let it ride Drew until the final four. And then in the final four, I might start hedging a little bit. Certainly in the championship game I would hedge, but I might start hedging in the final four. Yeah, if you're an unlawful. underdog in a game earlier maybe or something.

I don't know. The odds can change depending on your matchup. Me, I'd let it roll. You've been bet it all year. Don't give up on it. Yeah, I mean, that's a thing. You've been, I mean, you change your mind. You bet $20 at our lowest points.

So I feel like you've got to let it go. I'm definitely going to let it go, but I'm also thinking that if I'm getting like to the final eight, only three games left, do I start betting maybe $500 a game on the other team just because of my money. Listen, I'm not putting that kind of pressure on you. I appreciate it. What I did. For that count, I appreciate the call for that.

Calcutta last year with Yukon, I let it ride until the championship game. And then in the championship game, they were playing San Diego State, who was a pretty big underdog, and I was like, it would break my heart if I lost right here. So I put some on San Diego State just to make sure. But I let it go into the championship game last time. Yeah, I think you got a lot. Hedging is a sign of weakness.

If you believed every week of the year, why would you stop believing now that it's here in front of you? Just let it go. see the story about Temple Shannon yesterday? No, what happened? Did anybody see this? The FBI is going to investigate Temple basketball because for the second time this year they had a game where hours before the game the line moved like eight points. Oh wow. Wow. In a direction. So UAB was a two-point favorite to start the game. it tip off it got all the way to nine because so much money had been put on UAB and then they lost by 30

and there was a guy who follows this stuff who an hour before the game did a interview and he was like something's going on he was like games don't move like this regular season college basketball games and he goes just the second time this year this has happened with temple he's like I'm not saying I'm just saying. And then now, late last night, the FBI is going to investigate Temple basketball. So they don't think UAB did anything. They just went and beat them.

But they think Temple, I guess the allegation is, they might have someone on the team kind of throwing the game. Yeah, an hour before tip-off. I mean, that smells like duck poop right there. And actually, I went down kind of a rabbit hole last night about it. I thought this was interesting. Like, how do you make sure that happens? In both games, Temple was out rebounded, two and a half to one.

And they said that's kind of known as the way you do it. You just don't try to rebound, which would be interesting because that would be something where you would like, you know, let's say Drew's on the other side. If I'm throwing the game, I might just not try and let Drew get the rebound. Now we've got to go back and watch some of those games to see whatever. That's what they're going to do. They're going to go back and watch those games and see like. That guy's not trying.

The dude's like, oh, we're going for the rebound. Oh, goodness. You don't have to say it out. But then pushing the guy in to get it, right? There's an actual thing that it gets notified when bets aren't line up like they're supposed to, and it triggered that. That's what initially caught it. So anytime there's money going on one side, it's not supposed to be that way or something's abnormal,

They kick it all the way out of the end zone every single time. And so they don't want to do that anymore. So they're like trying to create this rule. and I don't 100% understand it. But like the kicker would be the only guy back where they kicked the ball. And everybody else would be down the field, like lined up right next to each other

as if it's a normal play at a line of scrimmage. And then the returner would catch it, and it would basically be the line. It would be like a regular play, but he'll get like a five-yard head start. And some guy came up with it. Just looking at it, it seems like, to me, it'll make it much more exciting, and there are guys who would be able to run it back. But reading it was so, I couldn't even totally understand. But apparently, Ryan, they're talking about passing it because they're kind of, they don't

want guys running full steam at each other and hitting. That's how people get hurt. So they're trying to make it to where you have a play, but you don't get what you had, which is people running full steam 60 yards down the field. So, you know, they're trying to find a way to bring the return game back to the football game. But without people getting head injuries. Yeah, like that. So I don't know.

The way you're explaining, I guess it could probably work if the kickoff team starts at the, what, the 30, 35, something? I don't totally understand. But it sounded like the kicker would be back where he is. Yeah. The kicking team would be up at like the 30-yard line waiting. The receiving team would have their blockers at like the 20-yard line. and then the returner would be back in the back. And so everybody would be there,

and then, like, nobody could move until he caught it. And then when he caught it, they could all hit each other and block. And you said they get penalized if the kicker kicks it out of the end zone. And then if the kicker kicks it out of the end zone, the team gets it at the 35 instead of the 25. So it's basically telling the kicker, you better not kick it out of the end zone. So I can see how it would work, but in practice, I have, you know, all that stuff theoretically, Drew could work,

and then when it happens in the game, who knows, right? Yeah, they're working hard to try to fix the problem they have. They even considered getting rid of kickoffs, and I'm glad they're not doing that. Whatever they go with, whether it's this or some of the other options, I'm pretty excited to take the fan base 10 years to realize the new rules. So we'll have several seasons of what are they doing, what's happening, and then we'll all eventually be on the same page in a decade. Yeah, 859-280, 2287.

UK football, Shannon, the portal, excuse me, the guys they have coming in on the portal, I listened to a radio show yesterday. They said, Kentucky, I feel like we hear this every spring, sleeper in the SEC. Is that right? I feel like we hear that all the time. But this week, this year, we play South Carolina in Florida, week two and third, South Carolina and Georgia, week two and three, so we're going to know about our team a lot earlier than we have in years past.

I feel like Kentucky football to use one of Ryan's phrases is the sexy pick for a lot of people, right? They like to pick Kentucky as the sleeper every year. They just got a quarterback commitment yesterday, did they not? So they got another quarterback yesterday from Ohio. It's clear they don't want to just have portal quarterbacks every year, and they're getting younger guys to try. Because we haven't had really a young, I don't know what, Ryan.

We haven't really had a young locker room of quarterbacks in a while. I think they're trying to do that. Yeah, you know, this kid's also in the 2025 class, which Cutter Bowley is technically still in the 2025 class. So, yeah, they're trying to bring in some guys. They've got Bow Allen to be the backup this year for Vandergriff if he comes in. But you mentioned the transfer portal with Vandergriff and train him the running back. I mean, you got two high-profile recruits from two high-profile programs

that have transferred into Kentucky. Don't forget. You also have the linebacker from Georgia. You got some, you know, they got some big-time guys. Who's up next? Kevin. Kevin, go ahead, Kevin. Hey, guys, how's it going?

Thanks for taking my call. Quick comment. I think we'll get eight, believe it or not, all the guys you mentioned. But I think Bradshaw is going to go because he's with that clutch sports who represented Livingston and Livingston was the last pick of last year's draft in the second round. He was. And Livingston was a lot better. I mean, no offense to Bradshaw, but Livingston was a lot better here than Bradshaw was.

I mean, Livingston was a starter, played a lot, had some really good games. I mean, I like Aaron Bradshaw, but Livingston did a lot more here than Bradshaw did. So far, maybe Bradshaw has a huge march. My point is, I mean, Bratshaw is seven foot, so there's that. But the real reason I called is, have you guys, what's your opinion on Jack Givens as a color guy? And I'll hang up and listen to your. I honestly think he does a really good job. What I like about Jack Drew is that he is a fan clearly,

and he is rooting the team on during the game. And so he's kind of saying what fans are like, come on, yeah. Like I like that about him. And he knows the game. And here's what I really like about Jack and Tom as to why when I listen to them, I think they're very valuable. They actually go to practice every day. Yeah.

Jack goes to practice every day. And so Jack knows what UK is trying to do in a circumstance, and I actually find that very enlightening from a dude that's actually there at practice. Yeah, I've only heard his color commentary once. I watched the whole game. I love his post-game interviews when he talks to him. There's a little bit of former player, a lot of knowledge, and a little bit grandpa there too when he's talked to him.

I love those player Jack interviews. But when we catch the highlights of when they put him out with the radio calls, you nailed it. Jack has so much emotion. as a fan. He'll just make a noise when a shot goes in while Tom is actually calling it. You feel that he's as excited as everyone at home whenever something big happens. Just like with Mike, it's nice having former players who, you know, they live and die with this stuff too, Ryan. I like that. You know, he had big shoes to fill with Mike Pratt. There's no doubt about it.

He came in and has done that. And I love it when, like, Kentucky will make a defensive mistake. And Jack doesn't want to be too critical. He'll just say, basic defensive principles, man, basic defensive principles. And he's not afraid to criticize. No, he's not. That's another thing. And Mike was like this, too. He's not afraid to criticize.

Sometimes I think Homer announcers can go too far. I don't really think Jack does. Yeah, Jack does a great job filling in. Like you said, those are big shoes to fill in for Mike Pratt. And, of course, we also get Gooses Givens every game. That's true. Goose's Givens. That's a free game show.

Which is one of my favorite things. It's a given. I don't know if that name is the best, but nevertheless. You don't like Goose's Givens? It's a given. that Kentucky needs to score 100 points. That's true. We will take a break and be right back here in Wolf County.

They're starting their fade. They just lost at home to Tennessee. They're starting to fade out. They lose at Mississippi State tomorrow. I'm taking Mississippi State as well. What about you? Me too. That's a tough place.

Good big man. I think South Carolina goes down. Kansas at Houston. If Kansas loses, it would be the most losses they've had in conference in over 20 years playing at number one Houston. It's crazy because we still think they're good and the big 12 is very good but this would be their eighth loss of the conference season. Who you got? And this is at Houston, correct? So I'm going to go with Houston on this one. What do you got? Yeah, I think Houston's best team in the country right now. And they're at home

season finale. I'm going Houston. Houston and I want to brag when we lost to Kansas, I said, remember they're old, they are what they are. They'll go the wrong direction where Kentucky climbs from this. And that's exactly what's happening. I think Kansas keeps going the wrong way. If I had to do it today, not having seen the bracket, Houston is my pick to win the national championship. If I had to do it today. Now, when we see the bracket, maybe the draw is weird or whatever.

But if you look at their path, the regional is in Dallas. You know, the final four is in Phoenix, which is I just, I feel like Houston has been knocking on the door, and Sneed is great. best player that most people don't know. I think Houston wins that one. Finally, North Carolina at Duke, for seating purposes, we need the Tar Hills to go into Cameron

indoor and won. They won in North Carolina. Shannon, do they win Saturday in Cameron? Yeah, I'm going to pick Duke on this one. Taking Duke. Yeah, one of the best rivalries in college basketball, but I'm going to take Duke. Just because it's at Duke, I'm going to pick them too, just because they're probably

not as good, but the fact there I'm going Duke. RJ Davis and Armando Baccott are in their 51st Duke North Carolina game and I think that experience gives them the nod. I'm taking Carolina. The cream is rising to the top here at the end of the year. I mean like if you

go all the best teams have won a major road game in the last week, all of them. Like if Connecticut did, Houston did Purdue did and I think North Carolina is in that group and so I think they're going to do it. Tennessee did. And South Carolina. And Duke's dropped, you know, what, they dropped Pittsburgh at home, I think, this year.

They did, but they're on a role. But they're on a role now. Duke's playing pretty good, but I still think North Carolina goes and gets the victory. And if they do, remember, we beat North Carolina. Every North Carolina win ultimately helps us as well. When we come back on the show on Monday, is Kyra Elsie, the UK coach. When they fire coaches late afternoon Friday is usually when it happens. And she seasons over for UK.

So is she the coach Monday? I'd be surprised. It was a rough few years with her. I just, I don't know how you can say, well, let's do that one more time as bad as it was. I think Mitch Barnard's hands are tied. It's time to make a change. They need to make a change. So, yeah, by Monday I'll say no.

I think maybe he'll take the weekend. Think it over a little bit. Check his e-mails. Maybe have a cocktail. No, he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't have a cocktail. He would not have a warm glass of a minute. Yeah.

I think maybe. I think she's gone, but I don't know if it's by Monday. So maybe about next Friday she's gone. You don't think it'll be warm? I just got a mental image of him sitting there drinking a warm glass of milk, making decisions. I feel like I can see Mitch drinking a warm glass of milk. No chocolate, though. That would be too flavorful.

This one, give a big shout out to Matt. He was referenced in the sports section of the Wall Street Journal this morning in regards to the Indiana State Cream Abdul-Jabbar. So nice to see your name in the big paper, Matt. When I was a kid and I envisioned myself being in the Wall Street Journal, I thought it would be making a nickname for a basketball player at Indiana State. But we'll take it. And I didn't make it, actually.

And I was very clear in that newspaper article I didn't make it. But go ahead. No, no. It just, I've heard you talking about him so much last week, and I forget the number of what tweets that when you sent out, and it just went viral. So I'm pulling for Indiana State. I want to see him in the tournament.

Me too. They opened up their tournament tonight, and they'll be playing Sunday, Drew, against. If you want to see a basketball game that will be one of the most entertaining games of the year, if you can get Indiana State and Drake in the finals Sunday of the Missouri Valley, both of those teams are really, really good. Neither of them is assured to make the tournament, and the winner of that game will make it. So root for Indiana State and Drake to make the finals.

That would be Sunday at 2 o'clock, and I mean it. be a make a reservation to watch because that level of basketball that's like the best mid-major game you could see that's arch madness right one of our favorites in st louis yeah i mean we all want that kid and drake's good as you're saying but it's all about getting robby into the tournament there are two matchups that if they end up meeting in the finals of their conference tournament you got to make sure you watch it indiana state and drake and then i don't know what conference it is but appalachian state and james madison those are two teams that are both like 27 and four, James Madison

beat Michigan State, Appalachian State beat Auburn, and they're probably going to play in the finals, and one of them's going to make the NCAA tournament, and one of them's not. Those are both games to watch if they happen over the next few days. And that's the argument for expanding the tournament where maybe they can get both of those guys,

both those teams could get into the tournament at some point. Yeah, but I hope Indiana State makes it. Who's up next? Rick is next. Rick, go ahead, Rick. All the Vanderbilt coaches had boxes of popcorn under their chairs.

I just saw it once. So maybe that's your problem. I don't remember Jerry's stackhouse ever popping any popcorn as now. I don't know if I've ever seen my man in his turtle neck eating popcorn, but maybe that's what Vanderbilt's problem is. I don't know. They got a lot more problems than that. Are you excited?

And you asked me, do they always take so long to shake hands walking? Well, Biden had to talk to everybody in attendance. And it was like there's a lot of people here. And it wasn't just saying hi. He was having full-blown conversations. So I read this one time about the state of the union. There's two things I find anything about. First is the designated survivor. I think the designated survivor yesterday was the education secretary. They put him, did you see the picture? picture of the room he has to sit in? No. He has to sit in a fortified bunker and it had a TV

that was like 12 feet. It's like they couldn't even get him like a television that was it was like this little tiny TV. But okay so that when they walk in, I agree with you, they take so long to walk up. But those Congress people that are standing there, that's first come first serve. So, like, they open the doors at 4.30. And, like, these camera-hungry congresspeople, they run to take that spot so they can be on TV so that they can be seen shaking their hand. And they have to stand there for, like, five hours. You can't have one of your staffers. You have to be there yourself.

So the people you see standing there that are shaking hands, they have waited five hours to get there. They act like they never met them before. I was like they know Joe Biden, right? They know each other. Can you imagine being so like camera hungry? No. That you would stand there for five hours and wait for that spot? No.

I mean, I couldn't even be bothered to change the channel to check on it. So I'm certainly not standing there. I thought he would just come in, walk up to the podium and do his thing. Of course, he had Kamala Harris behind. She would stand up and clap. Then the other guy would just roll his eyes and just shake his head. No matter what he said. That's what my big takeaway was.

The one guy hated them and she loved him. If I'd known, you would have had you get a scorecard. I should have. I don't know. It seems like you watched all of it. There's going to be a debate coming up soon. Oh, there we go. Between Trump and Biden.

Listen, I think Biden and Trump being the two candidates is awful for America, but in terms of an entertaining debate. Oh, yeah. It's going to be great. It's going to be off the charts. Yeah, I would say, I guess we'll do Billy, because he also knows how to do things in case there's like a nuclear holocaust. He could actually get the show up on the air. So I think that would be, I think he'd be the one. It'd be good. He's still reading purpose-driven life, too. We'd want to let him finish that down in the bunker. Yeah.

I'm still upset with you telling me, our country's designated survivor has like a little bitty elevator TV. In theory, this man is going to be in charge. Let's let him be informed of what's going on. Let's at least get some 3K in there. Let him know what's going on. It is interesting. He has a terrible TV, but they do have the bunker stocked with like three months worth of food and things in case they...

There you go, Billy. What do you want in your bunker? Strawberries? I mean, like, things like this, I didn't mean to get off on the subject before we in the show. But things like this fascinate me. Okay. Obviously, it would be an awful, horrendous tragedy. But if the state of the union, if they blew up that building, we would have no president, no Congress, no Supreme Court.

Like, that would be insane. Like you would just have this guy who probably you didn't know who they were before. And it would just be like him and his little television. And like who would he even talk to? You know what I mean? Two months my supply of peanut butter. And he would stand up and be like, I'm the president. And no one would know who he is.

No one. Not one person would know that guy. That would be crazy, wouldn't it? Because you said he was the education secretary? Last night they sent the education secretary. It could potentially be the leader of the free world. I know that wasn't there a TV show about this? Like it was called designated survivors or something.

It was like an easy gig. You just hang out in a bunker and watch TV all day. So you're called on. Presumably, if that happened, there would be some. issues happening in the country that you would need. I get some help. Take care of. Who's up next?

Matt. Matt, go ahead, Matt. Yeah, just a quick question. Have they said what the bracket's going to look like for next year's SEC tournament, and is it going to be harder to get a buy for Kentucky next year if they make the beating different? They have not said, but I think the initial thought was that they would have all 16 teams. And so basically there would be four Wednesday games now. So you would essentially have, it would not be everybody plays four rounds.

It would still be four teams wins, four games Wednesday, four games Thursday, and then the four top buys wouldn't come in until Friday. So it would basically be what it is now, but just two extra games on Wednesday. So I appreciate the call. So you'd essentially have, yeah, I appreciate the call. have a double-by. You would have a double-by now, but teams 9 through 16 would all have to play potentially five games in order to actually win the turn.

That sounds awesome. I love Wednesday. It's the best day. If you're telling me I can get a 16-seed and a 15-seat in there, it's got even better. Yeah. So that will be, starting next year, I didn't think about that, Shannon. Four games a day, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. They should just keep Vandy and Missouri out of the SEC tournament,

let them save themselves, the embarrassment. Well, I think the ACC is doing that. Yeah. Start next year, because, you know, the ACC next year is going to have, like, 18 teams or something in it. They're going to have two teams that don't even make the tournament. So, like Louisville wouldn't have even made the tournament this year. Who's next?
