Keep winning. Cats play Oakland tomorrow at 7 o'clock on CBS. KS. Bar is open now, and it is Wings Day, by the way. So that's true. You get Sweet 16 and Wings Day today.
Nice. Two for one over there. That's a two for one, Ryan. Who would have thought? And then the game, of course, NCAA games tomorrow.
Yeah, we got the game on already down at Ruppere-in and getting ready start in about a minute. So, yeah, come on and watch the games today.
All right, well, let's go over speaking of games. Let's go over these games. So we're just going to make some picks.
We're not going to go against the spread, Shannon.
We're just picking straight up.
Straight up.
All right, here we go.
Sweet 16, this game is starting right now as we speak.
McLaughen County making its first ever sweet 16 against Perry County Central.
Ryan, who you got?
Interesting story here.
The McLaughen County coach, his twin brother's son is the best player on Perry County Central.
His twin brother's son.
Okay, gotcha.
So his nephew, his nephew is the best player on Perry County Central, Carter Castle.
Castle Carter. Castle Carter, that's it.
Okay, whatever. Just pick your pick.
Well, I'm going to pick Perry County Central.
Neither team was supposed to be here.
They both kind of made a Cinderella run in the region.
I'm taking Perry County. What about you, Drew?
I'll go with the McLaughin County Cadillac rolling.
All right, what do you got you?
I'm going with the layback country pickers.
Let's do it, McGovern County.
All right, let's do a little Spencer County great crossing.
Great crossing, the 10 and a half point favorite.
I had a person write me and say,
bet everything you've ever owned on Great Crossing covering.
So give me Great Crossing.
Completely agree.
I think they're the team to beat.
Spencer County, by the way, their first ever Sweet 16.
Who you got, Shannon?
I don't even know what a Great Crossing means.
I don't even know what that is.
But I sure as hell I ain't picking Spencer County, so I'm going Great Crossing.
Ryan.
Great Crosses, they're loaded.
They're the team to beat in the tournament.
They've got four juniors.
They'll be good again even next year.
Ashland plays our men.
and Travis Perry and Lyon County.
Lion County, six and a half point favorite.
I'm taking Lion County.
What about you?
Yeah, shout out to Region 2.
I hope he gets a good run for the fans that'll be there.
Good run through that.
All right.
Shannon.
Lyon County.
Ryan.
Yeah, I'm up Lyon County, but Ashland's got Zander Carter, who's really, really good.
He's committed to Liberty.
So it could be a good ballgame.
Adair County and Marshall County.
It's a pick-em on the spreads.
Who you got, Shannon?
I spent some time in Adair County at Lindsay Wilson back in 2001.
For that very reason, that reason alone, I'm going to go Adair County.
Usually Marshall County's team comes and eats at our place.
I don't know that I heard they're doing it.
A Dare County, I think, was there the other night, so I'm taking a Dare County ride.
Marshall County's best players are a freshman.
His last name is Langy.
He is Dan Langy's son.
Are you saying?
Oh, oh.
Yes.
He's a freshman.
He's a 6'4 freshman.
He was like MVP of the region term.
It's Dan Langy's son.
I didn't know that.
Yeah.
Adair County, those got maybe the best.
players nobody's ever heard of.
Who will you pick?
Connor Roy is really good at Adair County, but I'm going to pick Marshall County.
Okay, go ahead.
I feel like I'm going to like just name drop someone that lives in Marshall County.
Yeah.
To my friend Bo in Marshall County, I'll go with the Marshall County Marshals.
All right.
The Big Bank.
Harlan County plays Warren Central.
I'm taking Harlan County.
I think his name is Trent Noah.
Oh, yeah.
He's good.
I think he's playing at South Carolina next year.
Harlan County's never made it because it's school hadn't been there that long.
I'm taking Harlan County.
What about you, Drew?
Yep.
And Trent Noah, our boy, Steve Q, sent me a message about him.
He was a freshman at high school.
I might watch this guy a little bit, and he is panned out.
That dude is for real.
He's going to be fun to watch this tournament.
Yeah, he's going to be playing against us next year.
He won't be fun to watch next year, but it'll be fun in this tournament.
Shannon, who you got?
Warren Central.
And what about you, Ryan?
Yeah, I'm going to Harlan County.
He had 43 points in the 13th Region Championship game.
Newport plays Campbell County.
The Campbell County Camels.
First time in the history of the Sweet.
16, two teams from the same county are playing against each other that weren't in Lexington or Louisville.
That's never happened before.
Newport and Campbell County in the same county, but different regions.
Shannon, who you got?
I thought that was like a type of cigarette.
Wasn't it there like Newport cigarettes?
There is, but there's like also a city.
I'm going with the Newport cigarettes.
All right, Drew.
I'm a Campbell County, Camel at heart.
So go Campbell County.
Ryan.
Newport's got the best sophomore in the state, Tarynx.
And they won the All-A state tournament.
But didn't he get hurt?
Didn't he get hurt in the region?
I think he, I know he played in the region tournament.
I'm not aware he's hurt.
All right, I'm going to take Newport.
I think he got hurt.
Hopefully he's all right.
Trinity plays Pulaski County.
It's the biggest spread on the board.
15 and a half.
I got to take Trinity, unfortunately.
What do you got, Ryan?
I'll take Trinity also over Plaskett County.
Shannon.
Trinity, but I'll say Pulaski covers.
That number's too big.
Butler County plays Evangil Christian.
this can't be true, Shannon, but I was told Evangelical Christian only has 32 students.
That can't be true.
10 of them are basketball players.
I know.
I mean, that's what somebody told me.
That cannot be.
They cannot only have 32.
What is it?
Are they just in a room?
What is that a, that can't be right, is it?
They don't have a prayer.
Who's the other team they're playing?
Butler County.
Butler County.
Well, Evangels 10.5 point favorites.
I don't care.
Again, those point spreads mean nothing.
It's a bunch of old guys.
If a third of your.
students are on the team, they must be good.
So I'm taking Evangelo.
What do you got, Drew?
I'm taking Evangelo.
I asked someone, I was like, I'm not even heard of this school?
I saw that they only had whatever students.
They're just a basketball.
Ryan?
Yeah, Wikipedia says they've got 134 students K through 12.
Oh, K through 12.
Yeah.
My goodness, is that right?
He might only have 32.
What is this school, Shannon?
Is this like...
Seniors and kindergartners together, like in the same school?
Are they learning the same things?
Learning basic colors and shapes?
I don't know.
That's wild.
A school only has 132 people in it, K through 12?
They're really, really good.
They got a good back court.
They made to the finals of the All-A.
Well, I have to say, you know Rupp Arena does not want them to make the finals.
I mean, how big a crowd could they possibly have, right?
I mean, you could have the whole student section, and it wouldn't even, I mean, bring the whole school, it won't even fill it.
Half of them have got to be in the game.
It's true.
The parents.
It's true.
Times to.
Managers.
Chereleaders.
Also in the game.
Yeah.
Wow.
I get to 100.
Speaking of managers, Indiana State, of course, didn't make the NCAA tournament, Shannon.
They made the NIT.
Yeah.
Under NIT rules, and I have no idea why this is a rule, you can only have one manager sitting on the bench.
Oh.
For whatever reason.
The Indiana State coach made all the managers participate in a manager Olympics to decide which one would get to sit on the bench.
They had to play ping pong.
They had to do drills on the court, and they figured out who was most deserving to be the manager.
And it was like a team building manager Olympics.
Do you like that?
I do.
But I would think that the event would be more like who's the fastest to wipe up a spill on the floor.
I think they did some of that.
Who has the best accuracy with the water bottle spraying it into like a clown's mouth, you know, to make the balloon pop.
You know, something like that.
They actually did that, I think.
Ryan, do you like that for that stupid rule?
I love it.
I think that's a great idea to do that.
For team bonding, if nothing, I'm sure the guys all love doing that.
I love it, too.
Let them figure out amongst themselves.
Fight it out.
The NCAA is very tight with these seats.
I remember Kentucky when your actual players had to sit behind the bench, some walk-ons.
I'm worried about the, what's the team that's got the kid?
Oh, that kid, they're going to make him sit in the press box.
Yeah, I hope they'll let him go.
The football players have been doing that all season.
Charleston, that's the team.
That's right.
Louisville players, there used to be in the stands.
Who's next, Shannon?
Bill.
Bill, go ahead, Bill.
What's up, guys?
I had two quick things.
One was about the Sweet 16, actually, but I'll lead off with, I think Drew touched on
why I'm so worried about this first round game,
is that if their coach is so loose, saying we wanted this, you know,
We've talked about how the mentality of the players kind of trickles down from the top.
If Cal's tight and tent and they're loose, I'm just scared to death.
Maybe that's recently biased, but I'm just scared to Thursday.
Listen, that is, I think, a legitimate worry.
I mean, I appreciate the call.
I've told you many times the story of Ian Eagle saying to me that he saw Cal before the St.
Peter's game and texted me and said, what's up with Cal?
Why is he so tense?
I hope Drew he can
Like that can't happen
This game
We can't have that tension
That for whatever reason
And I have no idea why it was
Was there two years ago
And I really
You know I'm not in these kids heads
But I don't feel like the players
Will have that less
He puts that on them
They seem so loose and free all season
One of the pregame shows
Sean Woods that when he filled in for you
Told me and Ryan he's like
These kids are almost
Not to say dumb
But they're almost not paying attention
to any of that. They're just like, give me the basketball.
I just want to hang out my friends and go play basketball.
And I feel like the only pressure they'll have will be put on them.
And I hope that's not the case.
Because if they're loose and free, they're beating Oakland.
The only way Oakland is in this is if it's flipped and Kentucky's tight.
And it shouldn't be the case.
And I think that would be on Cal.
Well, you and I talked about Ryan that it felt like during that SEC tournament game
for the first time this year, there was some tightness.
That's the most I've heard Cal yell during the games this year.
I hope that we got to, I think, go in the opposite direction.
on this one, don't you think?
Yeah, we all saw it, man.
There was a couple guys, I think, or came out tense and just weren't ready for the moment.
And when they got behind and Cal started yelling a lot, I think it did kind of make everybody kind of tense.
You just can't play that way, man.
You just can't do it.
No.
Because that leads to when we were saying they're not taking open shot.
It's not just the other guys waving his arms and the crowd's quiet.
Like when Reed Shepard made that extra, that's a shot he should have taken.
And I'm going out read here, but all the players were passing up shots that normally they would have been playing.
I agree. Who's next? Gary. Gary, go ahead, Gary.
Good morning, guys. First time, really long time.
Who are? What's up?
Well, I couldn't believe I'm a fellow political walk like you are, Matt,
and I cannot believe that you've never heard uneasy rider.
I actually never have it. I even know Charlie Daniels was never really my thing,
but I know a lot of his songs, and I just never have heard it.
It was the ultimate early 1970s anti-establishment song way before Charlie Daniels.
Charlie Daniels took his right hand turn in politics later in life.
Take four and a half minutes of your day today and listen to it.
All right.
I will.
And just remember, and just remember, I kicked old green teeth right in the knee.
I'll look it up.
I haven't heard it.
I appreciate the call.
I didn't until today.
See, you learn something new every day.
Do you think, speaking of Shady, is it Shady that Kansas waited until they got seated
to announce that their leading score is out for the tournament?
Very much, Shady.
I don't know.
Eventually they're going to have to get to a rule with this injury stuff,
especially now there's gambling,
but that he was already pretty banged up.
I don't feel like something came out after the bracket came out.
Well, Bill Self said he could have played in the Big 12 tournament,
but they were resting him,
which gives you the assumption that he's good to go.
Yeah.
And then to say he's out of the whole tournament, Ryan,
to me that's completely shady.
Because if they, if they knew that McCuller was out,
they would not have gotten a four seed.
They probably would have gotten like a six.
or seven, which would have been more fair.
I just think, right, I think it's really, really shady that they did that.
Yeah, I agree with you what you said about the way he handled his injury in the conference tournament.
They made it imply like he's fine and we're just going to rest him as if we're getting
ready for the NCAA tournament.
That's kind of how I took it when I saw that.
Yeah.
And then so now, like, I mean, I picked Samford before this.
Would you pick him now?
Yeah, I think they're going to be a very trendy pick.
The way Kansas just kind of wilted at the end of the season,
they were already going to be a popular upset pick.
Sanford was a darling anyway.
Then you pair them together and add this.
I think Kansas, they're going to have a whole country against them.
Yeah, I, Bill Self has been an amazing coach the last few years,
maybe the most consistent coach for the last five to seven years in college basketball.
But I think this is a pretty shady way to do it.
I'm pulling for Sanford.
I think they're going to win.
I thought they were going to win before this.
but I think they definitely are going to do it now.
You know, our friends at Commonwealth Causes have launched Club Blue,
an NIL subscription service where 100% of the proceeds go to NIL.
And if you go to ClubBlueNIL.com, you can see a lot of the benefits,
a lot of the subscriber packages.
Anyone who does is eligible for a giveaway.
For instance, they gave an iPad away to everybody who subscribed,
or not to everybody, no, they gave away an iPad,
and everyone who subscribed in February was eligible.
to win. That's pretty good.
Nice gift.
Yes.
So go to club blue nil.com.
The March giveaway is a thousand dollar gift card to drakes or malones.
You'd have to eat there a lot, Shannon, to get the thousand dollars.
You could just be like, I'm going to malones every night.
Come watch this.
Clubbluenil.com to join today.
That's club blue nil.com.
We'll take a break.
Barry back, KSR.
so this this is guaranteed to go over well in the state of kentucky rind joe biden has just released
his bracket he has kentucky going out in the second round oh boy well i'm sure that's going to go
over well yeah well your mentions are about to explode right now i'm doing this out my
The mentions are going to be full of reasonable people here in just a minute.
That gives me more confidence.
Kentucky's going to go to the final four now.
Did he have a team beating us or did he just forget to fill that part off?
He has NC State beating us.
But by the way, I think if I'm him, so like I'm looking at it,
I think he puts the teams that are in swing states farther.
Of course.
Yeah, that's very strategic.
So like Marquette is to the elite eight.
That's in Wisconsin.
a swing state, right? He's got
North Carolina to the final four.
Kind of a swing state,
NC State, like,
he's going after that Carolina vote. He's going
after that Carolina, Wisconsin,
Michigan, unfortunately. He's got
Michigan State winning his first game. That's
a swing state. He has Tennessee in the
final four. This is a horrible bracket,
Joe. He's got Houston, Tennessee,
Yukon, Carolina. I mean, to be fair,
that's mine, except I have Kentucky
and City Houston, but that's the
liberal bracket right there. That's the way you go.
Evangal Christian has 32 students between 9 through 12, Ryan.
And presumably 10 of them are on this basketball team, right?
Yeah, they made an effort to try to become a basketball power.
And they got to put up against the kids to transfer in.
Hey, why don't you come play basketball here?
Do they have a medical program?
Yeah, biomed program.
All right.
So, Shannon, Drew just pulled up the Evangelist Christian website.
I was trying to learn a lot more.
And he just showed me, it looks like, are those the teachers?
It's different positions.
There's a principal director.
It looks like all of the people that work there are the same blonde woman.
That's like creepy.
It looks like they cloned.
Okay, I'm not, listen, I'm sure these are wonderful people, but you start at the bottom.
What's the bottom office the person has?
Don't say their name.
Director.
The Foundation's Program Director.
and you scroll up and the principal, they all are the same blonde woman.
And then Pastor Rodney, the founder.
And then Pastor Rodney is not the same blonde woman.
Maybe she just has a lot of titles.
Go to the leadership page on Evangelatacademy.com.
Pastor Rodney is the founder.
And then Pastor Denny and De Anza are the chancellors.
But when you start with the middle school principal, the elementary school principal,
the Learning Center Director and the Foundations Program Director,
I think it's the same woman four different times.
Clones.
Look.
I was trying to get to the basketball team to see what we're working with.
That's the same woman on four different positions.
I think so.
Shannon, do you have it pulled up?
See if you see the same thing.
Evangelionacademy.com.
Is that it?
Yes.
And then go to leadership and scroll to the bottom.
Those are not, that's the same woman four times, isn't it?
Maybe.
I don't know.
It's certainly a look.
It's the same look.
That's the same.
Shannon, that's the same woman for times.
Maybe, maybe so.
You've got to have blonde hair apparently, though, to work there.
Just all he needs different haircuts and it'll work.
Ray, one of our longtime listeners on Twitter,
said he graduated there in 1996 and that they were terrible.
Is that the same one you got about how bad they were?
I guess they've improved.
Who's up next, Shannon?
Steve.
Steve, go ahead, Steve.
McGoffick County and Perry County are tied at the end of the first quarter.
Go ahead.
Cadillac's coming.
Hey, guys.
I'm changing the changing up a little bit.
I don't know if you ever watched the WWE Rivals show,
but had a really good segment I watched the other day.
It was the Randy Orton, John Cena.
And they had like a 15-minute segment on the OVC.
I thought it put a great light.
OVW dot OVC.
Well, yeah, Eastern Kentucky's not used to be.
The OVW.
I don't know if you've ever seen that or not.
No, I didn't see it, but I will look at it.
I'd like to see that.
But yes, they were together.
at OVW at the same time.
Yep, put a great light on the OVW, how they create these as an independent organization.
Well, thank you very much.
I appreciate it.
I will look it up.
And by the way, OVW still going strong.
We just announced, Shannon, they're making a video game of OVW.
I'm looking forward to seeing mine and your character on it.
They were making the OVW video game to be released.
in 2025. Are you ready for that? I am ready. Yeah, looking forward to that. You'll be able to download,
I guess, all the wrestlers that are on there. I'm assuming I'll be a part of it. I don't know.
Yeah. I'm just going to come in there and tell everybody, can we please clean this building up?
Is there something we can do? Yes, I'm looking forward to get, Shannon will get beat up. He'll have
the lowest values to everything. Hey, if you forget, I'd take all the champions to the top, baby.
You know, that's what I do. You are a good being. Yeah. You are a very, uh,
manager. Who's up next? Let's go to Joe. Joe. Go ahead, Joe, 859-2-8-8-0-22-87.
Matt, I listen to the first two minutes for that song. I think you're going to like it. Charlie
Daniels also seems opposed to air travel. Well, I don't disagree with him. That's why I drove across
the Pennsylvania Turnpac. Well, he had to get from somewhere east of the Mississippi to L.A.,
so, of course, instead of, you know, just booking a flight, he figured he'd, you know, get himself a car,
because that makes sense.
Okay, well, these dudes are ready.
If we go to the regional, we're getting in a car and going to Dallas,
and I know they're excited to drive through Memphis and Little Rock and Texarkana,
aren't you, Ryan?
I'm very excited, yes.
A.R. Ryan.
I can't control my excitement.
So, I mean, that's just the way it's going to be.
What else you got?
Would like your input on a prop that I saw that I know is popular for the NBA,
and I don't see it for college.
for Kentucky, Oakland, Oakland sets back in that zone over under one and a half three-pointers made in the first three minutes of the game.
Even odds.
What do you think?
I appreciate the call.
I go under.
We tend to start poorly and we don't have two of our best three-point shooters in at the beginning.
I hope it's over.
I'll go under with you.
Yeah, I mean, we just, Ryan, we just don't put, if we had our best starters in, I might say over.
But with the line up we start, I don't see us making two.
two threes to start.
Yeah, it was 8 to 1 to start the game the other day against Texas A&M.
That race to 10 is always anti-Kentucky.
That's what- However, they will play zone.
I mean, they will play zone, so presumably those will be the shots we get open.
So maybe that's what you look at.
Yeah, I mean, I think it's going to be a fun night if Kentucky does get some quick threes off.
But Greg Campi said that's going to be their main goal is making sure they don't.
Do you think they play zone the whole game against us?
I mean, that's going to be a tough road for them.
I mean, nobody's.
Really nobody's done that against us all year because I just think they think you don't want to give up wide open looks.
From what I've seen reading up on them, I would be lying if I said I've watched them play game.
But their coach does mix up his defenses.
They have kind of a versatile zone they use.
So I don't know.
They'll just sit in a zone and watch Kentucky shoot all game if it's working.
No.
Yeah, by the way, as you would expect, Shannon, the comments are perfectly reasonable to me posting Biden's bracket.
Oh, I'm sure they are.
Yeah.
I'm sure they are.
It's going to be entertaining for you.
the rest of the day.
Yeah, I mean, there's certainly, everybody seems to be taking it in completely good
spirit.
I just noticed, I kept wondering why this Evangelist Christian didn't mention their tournament
right.
We were on the Ohio Evangelist Christian School website.
So Pastor Rodney, different.
Oh.
So we were looking at Ohio.
Evangel Christian, Ohio.
I'm like, where's their basketball team?
It's no mention of it on this website.
Sorry about that.
Pastor Rodney was in Ohio and not in Kentucky.
My bad.
You know what?
I still think they'll win today, even without that.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
It's KSR.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J.
He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
McGoffin County playing right now against Perry County.
What's the score there, Ron?
You got it on at the bar.
Yep.
Perry County centrals up 22 to 19 with a minute and a half
left till halftime.
Hang in there, McLaughin County.
A lot of basketball left.
A lot of basketball left.
It's Wings Day at KS Bar all day.
Dollar Wings, I think it's like 80 cents if they're boneless or maybe 70 cents.
I can't remember.
But get in there today.
Wings Day all day.
We'll have all the Sweet 16 games on.
I hear some folks there behind you now, Ryan, eating their wings.
Yep, yeah.
Lunch Crown rolling in and everybody coming in kind of watch some of the games, too.
It's kind of cool.
Yes.
All right.
So Matt Norlander, Shannon, I knew you'd like this.
Yes.
He has every coach in the NCAA their favorite musician.
And he put them out.
So I'm going to go region by region and give you the highlights.
We'll start in the east.
Mark Pope says his favorite musicians, Taylor Swift.
Do you believe he?
No.
I feel like it's just like the hot pick right now.
He probably doesn't listen to any kind of music and just picks somebody.
You think Mark Pope's favorite is Taylor Swift, Ryan?
I was so embarrassed when I saw it.
all that that Mark Pope picked Taylor Swift.
Come on, Mark.
Why?
Why?
Because it's popular.
That's why.
Again, you think he even listens to Taylor.
He probably doesn't listen to anything.
All right.
So in the East region, who was your, who were you most impressed with?
Danny Hurley saying Pearl Jam?
Did you like that one?
Pearl Jam.
Yes, that was my favorite out of the group.
What about the Iowa State coach saying Ed Sheeran, Drew?
No, that's worse.
I saw Rick Barnes said,
Wait a minute. Let's go region by region.
On Pope, if I'm not mistaken, he has a lot of daughters, like four daughters.
So he probably is playing Taylor Swift nonstop.
See, isn't that sweet Ryan? He would say Taylor Swift because of his daughters?
It's embarrassing, Matt, to say you listen to Taylor Swift, so no. He should not have said that.
Ryan, again, back to the Ryan women. Like, he just hates Taylor Swift. I don't get it.
I don't understand what his deal is with that. I liked on Kyle Smith from Washington State saying,
digital underground. That's a very unique pick, isn't it? Shannon?
Yeah, yeah. I would expect to see that one on that. Now, I want to ask you the people I don't know
that are on here. Preston Spradlin at Moorhead says Jeremy Camp. Who is that? I don't know who that is.
Anybody else know? Does anybody know Jeremy? I don't know who that is. I saw that and I didn't know
who that was. I didn't know who that was. All right, we'll go to the South region. In the South
region, I think the big story is John Cal Perry said Drake. Do we be?
believe that Drake is actually Cala Perry's favorite singer.
No.
He likes train.
We already know.
His daughter already told us he's a train fan.
There was no doubt Cal was going to say that,
but he is not getting in his car and turning on the latest Drake as he drives home from the game.
It's smart.
Gives you the cool points by picking Drake, though.
Yeah.
It's probably his favorite artist, but he doesn't listen regularly if that makes sense.
It's more of their little friendship thing.
Texas Tech's coach Shannon says,
Jervis Campbell. Who's that?
Again, I don't know who that is either.
I'm not even sure that's really a thing.
I think he just said two words.
You think Jervis Campbell's just a made-up name?
I've never heard of that person.
I mean, Jervis, that's not a real first name, is it?
Jervis.
I've never heard of this.
What team was this that said it?
Texas Tech.
See, if I'm Jervis Campbell or the other per-I'm getting front-road tickets.
Yeah.
Now, name, I'm your favorite.
Where's my seats?
I'm on my way.
I mean, you look at the other artist in the South.
People say the Eagles, Queen,
Pearl Jam, Drake.
If you're Jervis Campbell, you've got to be like,
how did I get in this group, right?
That's what I'm saying.
I'm showing up to do the national anthem.
I would also give a shout out to Florida's coach Todd Golden.
Shannon, who said sublime?
That's right.
Sublime, like, who would have thought sublime?
I could be, you know, riding down the road with Todd Golden,
listening to some sublime.
I like that pick.
All right, so let's go to the West.
Do we believe Hubert Davis's favorite artist is Lil Durk?
No.
Maybe another thing like Calipari.
Maybe they've got a connection, and so he just put him out there.
All right.
So now let me go.
There's a lot in this one I don't know.
The coach of, I guess this is Long Beach, or I don't know who this is,
the coach of one of these teams, Wagner, excuse me, says the backyard band.
Who's that?
Never heard of them.
Never heard of them either.
Two different people, Bryce Drew and Nate Oates, say Toby Mac.
Who's that?
I've heard of Toby Mac, but I don't know.
Is that like Bernie Mac and Toby Keith together?
Shannon, do you know who Toby Mac is?
I've heard of the name like Drew said, but I don't.
Who are these people?
Okay, so Dayton, Anthony Grant says Lauren Daigle.
Who's that?
Got me.
Never heard of him.
Got me.
Nevada, Steve Alfred says Sanctus Real.
Who's that?
Don't know that one.
I don't think I know that one.
So far of the obscure ones,
Toby Max the only one I've heard of.
Okay.
And then Tommy Lloyd of Arizona says the Beastie Boys, Shannon.
That's good.
That's good.
I like that one.
How are we going to gloss over Matt Langel who says he likes cold play?
What?
You are the most uncool coaching college basketball.
If you publicly tell everybody, your favorite band is cold play.
He's the coach of Colgate, by the way.
A Colgate.
Toby Mac formed DC talk.
It's Christian.
That's why I knew that name.
I'm like, how do I know the name?
We've talked about Christian music recently.
I didn't realize that was D.C. talk.
Probably Scott Drew's to elevation worship, whatever that is.
Elevation worship has to be Christian.
Both Will Wade and Bill Self say Earth, Wind, and Fire.
That's Tom Leach's favorite.
Really? That's Tom Leach's favorite?
Tom Leach loves Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Okay, see, I'd like to see Will Wade, Bill Self and his toupee,
and Tom Leach just chilling to a little Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Do you like that?
Maybe we could set that up.
Yeah.
I would like to see it.
And then finally, Rick Barnes says Carrie Underwood.
What do we think of that?
That was the craziest of all, 64.
He couldn't think of anything else.
You're about to go play in the NCAA tournament and get the boys fired up.
You want Carrie Underwood.
She doesn't even give me fired up on Sunday nights.
It makes me change the channel before NFL football games.
What's her song?
I got a fished that butter in a Cadillac.
I don't know.
What?
carry a thing like where she's like mad at a guy and she's like yeah before he cheats and but what's the saying something about a catalike that took a Louisville slugger to both headlights took a little slugger to a both headlights catac and that's what Tennessee's playing in the locker room yeah yeah I like to think that's what Tennessee's listed to
Jesus take the will by the way everyone I said apparently that we don't know Shannon people are telling me they're all Christian artists oh look at us
We're bad boys, though, you know?
That's right.
That's why I went to the bad boys bistro,
although I will listen to Toby back, I guess.
Who's next shit?
Larry from Paduca.
Larry from Paducah.
How are you?
I'm good.
If you were talking earlier,
maybe I'd miss it about chestnut,
then nobody does better than Bubba shot the jukebox.
That's a great song.
But my question for you guys is,
how come there are two playing games
in the Midwest and none in the east.
I don't know.
I appreciate the call.
They do it more for whatever seeds are left,
but I'm not sure why they're in the east or midway.
I don't know.
I have no idea.
I don't know either.
Let's pick the playing games.
You go to Draft Kings.
You can do a play and pick.
This will be my Kentucky-branded picks of the day.
Shannon, let's get started.
You've got tonight, Grambling versus Monty.
Montana State, who you got?
I know nothing about either of these teams, but you got to pick somebody.
I'm going to go with Grambling.
Montana State, 0 and 6 in the NCAA tournament in their career.
They're due.
They win tonight, Ryan, and Montana State gets a victory.
I'll go with Montana State just for what you said.
We were speaking it into existence.
Montana State for me, too.
I'm gambling on gambling.
Gambling on gambling, all right?
Colorado and Boise State.
Colorado State won last night
Shannon does Colorado join them tonight?
I think so yeah Colorado's got to live up
to Colorado State's bar that they set
last night with that went over Virginia
so I'm going Colorado I'm taking
Boise State I think the Mountain West was really
good this year Drew I think their teams all
got underseeded you saw it last
night when Colorado State
crushed them I'm taking Boise State
I think Boise State's a good team they got a really good
score they were knocked out over their tournament but I
think they might be one to watch this week
Ryan the Boise State staff
was very nice to all of us when we were up there for the NCAA tournament, so I'm going Boise
State. Yeah, nice guys finish last, so they're going to lose. By the way, I think whoever
wins this game, this is my prediction. Whoever wins this game is who we're playing in the
Sweet 16. I think they beat Florida and then they beat Marquette. So I'm picking the winner of this
game every year, like almost every other year, a team from the first four makes the Sweet
16. I think it's going to be one of these. Who's next? All right, let's go to Kentucky Joe.
Yay. Kentucky Joe, what do you got?
Hello?
Yes.
Okay, man.
Yeah, I like you were talking about the singers.
Yeah, Lauren Daigle's one of the top of Christian singers,
but I'm planning to do, I'm going to do a little plug for myself
and our friends.
We're going to do a passion play on Sunday evening.
People are invited.
You're in, wait a minute.
You're in an Easter passion play joke?
not moving. Just stay in one place.
Okay? Stay in one place.
This Sunday at 6 o'clock at you.
What roller you plays?
What roller are you playing? What's your roller?
I'm playing Simon the Serenia. I'm going to carry the cross for a short little period of time there.
And the guy, the fellow plays Jesus. He looks like Jesus.
Well, that helps.
You have to see him.
You're playing Simon, as you said?
Yeah, Simon the Serenian. The fellow carries a cross.
cross okay well good for you well joe and tell everybody where the play is it's a merry queen of
peace here on dixie and crumbs six o'clock on it's going to be this sunday and and and then uh i also
wanted to say uh kutucky i'm i'm gonna be like dick vatel kentucky tennessee uh connecticut
and it's houston in the final four of kentucky beats tuesday tuesday teke beats connecticut
Yeah, you Houston and Kentucky can't both make it.
But nevertheless, I'll still take that as your final four picks.
You don't know, Kentucky, Joe, I wish you the best on your play.
Are you nervous?
Have you ever acted?
And also, I'll see much.
No, we're not singing.
I appreciate the call, Joe.
Thank you very much.
I was going to tell him, I wondered if he had ever acted before.
My mom one time went all the way to Germany with Llam.
to see the passion play at Ober Ammergal, I think was the name of it.
And they only do it, Drew, once every 10 years.
Oh.
And they went.
That seems like a big deal.
Yeah.
I think they do it multiple times that time during that period.
But she went all the way to Germany for the, and it was called the Passion Play.
And I think it would, I think the name of the place was Ober Ammergal.
They did that in like 1990, I want to say, something like.
that. Now you can go see Kentucky Joe.
You know, Sunday I was going to just sit on the couch and watch the games all day,
but now I think I'm going to go watch Kentucky Joe and Passion play.
He plays Simon. Good for him.

no i've wanted you to go ahead and do your thing i was going to let you keep going
i got a little bit of a sore throat i got to be careful
So I would sing it dead on.
Plus, I didn't let Joe sing.
How can I sing, Drew, if I didn't let Joe sing.
That's right.
We're going to do the, we are going to do fade this at the arena.
However, I've already gotten a message from the head of media for the NCAA saying,
I cannot go live during Kentucky's practice ride.
How did they even know?
How did, were they listening?
Is the NCAA listening?
Snitches.
they're living right beside you in that those people from Middlesboro.
But could you just tell them you're just doing a podcast?
You don't have to tell them it's live.
Well, they said I could do that.
They said, though, the live stream that I said I would do, they're like, you can't do it.
Which means they had to have known that I said I was going to do it.
Yeah.
Somebody told on you.
Yeah, someone probably told on you.
Yeah, whoever is the stitch.
It's a tattletel league.
Who are the tattletail people?
Shannon right in the NCAA and go, nan-nanny boo-boo.
Matt said he was going to do a live stream.
I mean, you do have a microphone in front of you.
You got to keep that in mind.
But who would do that?
It's not a private conversation.
It's for you all.
I'm going to be there.
I don't need to stream it.
Probably a Louisville fan.
I was thinking of the media.
Oh, that's a good call.
Yeah.
Rob Dillingham has a new deal, a new NIL deal for something called nerd wallet.
It's the Rob.
Dillingham X nerd wallet wallet and you can get it at nerdymerch.com.
Shannon, I saw this and thought of you.
Are you signing up for that immediately?
Probably won't get skims.
Probably won't get a nerd wallet either.
I like my Clayton and Krooom wallet just fine.
What is a nerd wallet?
I thought nerd wallet was a finance website.
So that shows you where I am in my nerd walleting.
Ryan, do you know what a nerd wallet is?
No, I'm going to.
it right now because I have no idea what it is.
So see it worked.
Nerd Wallet.
There you go.
His deal already worked.
Ryan's going to nerdymerch.com.
We're getting that point.
I mean, we've only been here a few hours and we're already getting.
Well, there is funny that we're at the NCAA tournament.
We're selling nerdy merch and no one knows what it is.
We're trying to focus on getting ready for Oakland and we're going to nerdy wurch.
In the 48 hours before our opening game, Cal,
has had Obama on a podcast.
We've been doing skims, nerdy merch.
Like, there's a lot going on.
It's a new world.
We're just trying to keep up with all that's happening.
It is a new world.
Who's next, Shannon?
Let's go to Scott.
Scott.
Scott.
Hey, guys.
How are you doing?
Doing good.
Okay.
Hey, I just wanted you guys to reconsider your pick in the Butler County game.
If you hadn't had a chance to check out Ty Price, he's a junior at Butler County.
he's got area code range if you get a chance to check out somebody i'm pulling for butler county
but i mean by my old man's spread i see here they've got evangel is 11 point favorite that's hard
for me to overlook you know yeah yeah so but this is butler county's first this is butler county's
first sweet 16 right yeah i believe so yeah well i wish i hope they win i like people who are
there for the first time.
So I appreciate the call.
Thank you, sir.
What's the McLaughin County score right?
2923 Perry County Central in the third quarter.
They're going to need some.
They're going to need the run here.
You went to nerdy merch.
I'm very confused.
It looks, it looks like he's selling $7 coffee mugs.
It just says liquid assets.
And then there's a tote bag that says, my other bag is a 401k.
And it's $19.
I can't, this can't be the raw.
Wait a minute.
Just a second.
My other bag is a 401K?
That looks like something they would hand me walking into a convention.
That is it.
That does say.
I'm not making fun of Rob.
Get your bag,
but I'm on the right website.
I guess that's nerdy merch.
Did you know that,
Shannon?
Your other bag is a 401k?
No.
No, I didn't.
But now I know.
It's the whole point of the advertisement.
I guess that's sure.
I'm buying so many liquid assets,
mugs when Rob goes on a run here.
Who's up next?
Dennis.
Dennis, just got a minute.
Go ahead.
and if you'll remember, look at Angel and Crossmeier
are both private schools.
And then the second thing was,
did you happen to notice the referee
at the South Carolina LSU fight
and where she went?
As soon as the fight started, she headed to mid-court
and got out of the way. I thought the referee
was supposed to be in the middle of it. I like that.
You know what? She's like, I'm not getting into a fight.
I appreciate the call. I got no interest in it.
I didn't catch that, but she's there to, you know,
call basketball.
She's not trying to.
She's not trying to.
She's a problem.
Hey, BBN, Major League Baseball is upon us.
That can only mean one thing.
Spring has sprung.
That's right.

Who is we?
You and who?
Daryl.
You and Daryl are doing a podcast?
Yeah.
The D&D sports podcast.
I like shit and he said, we're doing a podcast with our buddy Daryl.
Who's we?
Daryl.
That's right.
You and Daryl.
I don't know why I think that's so much.
But I do think that's really funny.
All right, so it's Weeks Day.
You can be there all day.
Tomorrow we'll do the morning show here.
Then the pregames at 4.30, and of course the cats play at 7.
Drew, it's time to make our way down to the arena.
Let's go watch some practice.
Talk about practice.
We'll do fade this.
This will be out later tonight.
We'll see you later.
