So, yeah, come on and watch the games today. All right, well, let's go over speaking of games. Let's go over these games. So we're just going to make some picks.

We're not going to go against the spread, Shannon. We're just picking straight up. Straight up. All right, here we go. Sweet 16, this game is starting right now as we speak. McLaughen County making its first ever sweet 16 against Perry County Central. Ryan, who you got? Interesting story here.

The McLaughen County coach, his twin brother's son is the best player on Perry County Central. His twin brother's son. Okay, gotcha. So his nephew, his nephew is the best player on Perry County Central, Carter Castle. Castle Carter. Castle Carter, that's it. Okay, whatever. Just pick your pick. Well, I'm going to pick Perry County Central. Neither team was supposed to be here.

They both kind of made a Cinderella run in the region. I'm taking Perry County. What about you, Drew? I'll go with the McLaughin County Cadillac rolling. All right, what do you got you? I'm going with the layback country pickers. Let's do it, McGovern County. All right, let's do a little Spencer County great crossing. Great crossing, the 10 and a half point favorite.

I had a person write me and say, bet everything you've ever owned on Great Crossing covering. So give me Great Crossing. Completely agree. I think they're the team to beat. Spencer County, by the way, their first ever Sweet 16. Who you got, Shannon? I don't even know what a Great Crossing means.

I don't even know what that is. But I sure as hell I ain't picking Spencer County, so I'm going Great Crossing. Ryan. Great Crosses, they're loaded. They're the team to beat in the tournament. They've got four juniors. They'll be good again even next year. Ashland plays our men.

and Travis Perry and Lyon County. Lion County, six and a half point favorite. I'm taking Lion County. What about you? Yeah, shout out to Region 2. I hope he gets a good run for the fans that'll be there. Good run through that. All right.

Shannon. Lyon County. Ryan. Yeah, I'm up Lyon County, but Ashland's got Zander Carter, who's really, really good. He's committed to Liberty. So it could be a good ballgame. Adair County and Marshall County. It's a pick-em on the spreads.

Who you got, Shannon? I spent some time in Adair County at Lindsay Wilson back in 2001. For that very reason, that reason alone, I'm going to go Adair County. Usually Marshall County's team comes and eats at our place. I don't know that I heard they're doing it. A Dare County, I think, was there the other night, so I'm taking a Dare County ride. Marshall County's best players are a freshman. His last name is Langy.

He is Dan Langy's son. Are you saying? Oh, oh. Yes. He's a freshman. He's a 6'4 freshman. He was like MVP of the region term. It's Dan Langy's son.

I didn't know that. Yeah. Adair County, those got maybe the best. players nobody's ever heard of. Who will you pick? Connor Roy is really good at Adair County, but I'm going to pick Marshall County. Okay, go ahead. I feel like I'm going to like just name drop someone that lives in Marshall County.

Yeah. To my friend Bo in Marshall County, I'll go with the Marshall County Marshals. All right. The Big Bank. Harlan County plays Warren Central. I'm taking Harlan County. I think his name is Trent Noah. Oh, yeah.

He's good. I think he's playing at South Carolina next year. Harlan County's never made it because it's school hadn't been there that long. I'm taking Harlan County. What about you, Drew? Yep. And Trent Noah, our boy, Steve Q, sent me a message about him. He was a freshman at high school.

I might watch this guy a little bit, and he is panned out. That dude is for real. He's going to be fun to watch this tournament. Yeah, he's going to be playing against us next year. He won't be fun to watch next year, but it'll be fun in this tournament. Shannon, who you got? Warren Central. And what about you, Ryan?

Yeah, I'm going to Harlan County. He had 43 points in the 13th Region Championship game. Newport plays Campbell County. The Campbell County Camels. First time in the history of the Sweet. 16, two teams from the same county are playing against each other that weren't in Lexington or Louisville. That's never happened before. Newport and Campbell County in the same county, but different regions.

Shannon, who you got? I thought that was like a type of cigarette. Wasn't it there like Newport cigarettes? There is, but there's like also a city. I'm going with the Newport cigarettes. All right, Drew. I'm a Campbell County, Camel at heart. So go Campbell County.

Ryan. Newport's got the best sophomore in the state, Tarynx. And they won the All-A state tournament. But didn't he get hurt? Didn't he get hurt in the region? I think he, I know he played in the region tournament. I'm not aware he's hurt. All right, I'm going to take Newport.

I think he got hurt. Hopefully he's all right. Trinity plays Pulaski County. It's the biggest spread on the board. 15 and a half. I got to take Trinity, unfortunately. What do you got, Ryan? I'll take Trinity also over Plaskett County.

Shannon. Trinity, but I'll say Pulaski covers. That number's too big. Butler County plays Evangil Christian. this can't be true, Shannon, but I was told Evangelical Christian only has 32 students. That can't be true. 10 of them are basketball players. I know.

I mean, that's what somebody told me. That cannot be. They cannot only have 32. What is it? Are they just in a room? What is that a, that can't be right, is it? They don't have a prayer. Who's the other team they're playing?

Butler County. Butler County. Well, Evangels 10.5 point favorites. I don't care. Again, those point spreads mean nothing. It's a bunch of old guys. If a third of your. students are on the team, they must be good.

So I'm taking Evangelo. What do you got, Drew? I'm taking Evangelo. I asked someone, I was like, I'm not even heard of this school? I saw that they only had whatever students. They're just a basketball. Ryan? Yeah, Wikipedia says they've got 134 students K through 12.

Oh, K through 12. Yeah. My goodness, is that right? He might only have 32. What is this school, Shannon? Is this like... Seniors and kindergartners together, like in the same school? Are they learning the same things?

Learning basic colors and shapes? I don't know. That's wild. A school only has 132 people in it, K through 12? They're really, really good. They got a good back court. They made to the finals of the All-A. Well, I have to say, you know Rupp Arena does not want them to make the finals.

I mean, how big a crowd could they possibly have, right? I mean, you could have the whole student section, and it wouldn't even, I mean, bring the whole school, it won't even fill it. Half of them have got to be in the game. It's true. The parents. It's true. Times to. Managers.

Chereleaders. Also in the game. Yeah. Wow. I get to 100. Speaking of managers, Indiana State, of course, didn't make the NCAA tournament, Shannon. They made the NIT. Yeah.

Under NIT rules, and I have no idea why this is a rule, you can only have one manager sitting on the bench. Oh. For whatever reason. The Indiana State coach made all the managers participate in a manager Olympics to decide which one would get to sit on the bench. They had to play ping pong. They had to do drills on the court, and they figured out who was most deserving to be the manager. And it was like a team building manager Olympics. Do you like that?

I do. But I would think that the event would be more like who's the fastest to wipe up a spill on the floor. I think they did some of that. Who has the best accuracy with the water bottle spraying it into like a clown's mouth, you know, to make the balloon pop. You know, something like that. They actually did that, I think. Ryan, do you like that for that stupid rule? I love it.

I think that's a great idea to do that. For team bonding, if nothing, I'm sure the guys all love doing that. I love it, too. Let them figure out amongst themselves. Fight it out. The NCAA is very tight with these seats. I remember Kentucky when your actual players had to sit behind the bench, some walk-ons. I'm worried about the, what's the team that's got the kid?

Oh, that kid, they're going to make him sit in the press box. Yeah, I hope they'll let him go. The football players have been doing that all season. Charleston, that's the team. That's right. Louisville players, there used to be in the stands. Who's next, Shannon? Bill.

Bill, go ahead, Bill. What's up, guys? I had two quick things. One was about the Sweet 16, actually, but I'll lead off with, I think Drew touched on why I'm so worried about this first round game, is that if their coach is so loose, saying we wanted this, you know, We've talked about how the mentality of the players kind of trickles down from the top. If Cal's tight and tent and they're loose, I'm just scared to death.

Maybe that's recently biased, but I'm just scared to Thursday. Listen, that is, I think, a legitimate worry. I mean, I appreciate the call. I've told you many times the story of Ian Eagle saying to me that he saw Cal before the St. Peter's game and texted me and said, what's up with Cal? Why is he so tense? I hope Drew he can Like that can't happen

This game We can't have that tension That for whatever reason And I have no idea why it was Was there two years ago And I really You know I'm not in these kids heads But I don't feel like the players

Will have that less He puts that on them They seem so loose and free all season One of the pregame shows Sean Woods that when he filled in for you Told me and Ryan he's like These kids are almost Not to say dumb

But they're almost not paying attention to any of that. They're just like, give me the basketball. I just want to hang out my friends and go play basketball. And I feel like the only pressure they'll have will be put on them. And I hope that's not the case. Because if they're loose and free, they're beating Oakland. The only way Oakland is in this is if it's flipped and Kentucky's tight. And it shouldn't be the case.

And I think that would be on Cal. Well, you and I talked about Ryan that it felt like during that SEC tournament game for the first time this year, there was some tightness. That's the most I've heard Cal yell during the games this year. I hope that we got to, I think, go in the opposite direction. on this one, don't you think? Yeah, we all saw it, man. There was a couple guys, I think, or came out tense and just weren't ready for the moment.

And when they got behind and Cal started yelling a lot, I think it did kind of make everybody kind of tense. You just can't play that way, man. You just can't do it. No. Because that leads to when we were saying they're not taking open shot. It's not just the other guys waving his arms and the crowd's quiet. Like when Reed Shepard made that extra, that's a shot he should have taken. And I'm going out read here, but all the players were passing up shots that normally they would have been playing.

I agree. Who's next? Gary. Gary, go ahead, Gary. Good morning, guys. First time, really long time. Who are? What's up? Well, I couldn't believe I'm a fellow political walk like you are, Matt, and I cannot believe that you've never heard uneasy rider. I actually never have it. I even know Charlie Daniels was never really my thing, but I know a lot of his songs, and I just never have heard it. It was the ultimate early 1970s anti-establishment song way before Charlie Daniels.

Charlie Daniels took his right hand turn in politics later in life. Take four and a half minutes of your day today and listen to it. All right. I will. And just remember, and just remember, I kicked old green teeth right in the knee. I'll look it up. I haven't heard it. I appreciate the call.

I didn't until today. See, you learn something new every day. Do you think, speaking of Shady, is it Shady that Kansas waited until they got seated to announce that their leading score is out for the tournament? Very much, Shady. I don't know. Eventually they're going to have to get to a rule with this injury stuff, especially now there's gambling,

but that he was already pretty banged up. I don't feel like something came out after the bracket came out. Well, Bill Self said he could have played in the Big 12 tournament, but they were resting him, which gives you the assumption that he's good to go. Yeah. And then to say he's out of the whole tournament, Ryan, to me that's completely shady.

Because if they, if they knew that McCuller was out, they would not have gotten a four seed. They probably would have gotten like a six. or seven, which would have been more fair. I just think, right, I think it's really, really shady that they did that. Yeah, I agree with you what you said about the way he handled his injury in the conference tournament. They made it imply like he's fine and we're just going to rest him as if we're getting ready for the NCAA tournament.

That's kind of how I took it when I saw that. Yeah. And then so now, like, I mean, I picked Samford before this. Would you pick him now? Yeah, I think they're going to be a very trendy pick. The way Kansas just kind of wilted at the end of the season, they were already going to be a popular upset pick. Sanford was a darling anyway.

Then you pair them together and add this. I think Kansas, they're going to have a whole country against them. Yeah, I, Bill Self has been an amazing coach the last few years, maybe the most consistent coach for the last five to seven years in college basketball. But I think this is a pretty shady way to do it. I'm pulling for Sanford. I think they're going to win. I thought they were going to win before this.

But by the way, I think if I'm him, so like I'm looking at it, I think he puts the teams that are in swing states farther. Of course.

Yeah, that's very strategic. So like Marquette is to the elite eight. That's in Wisconsin. a swing state, right? He's got North Carolina to the final four. Kind of a swing state, NC State, like, he's going after that Carolina vote. He's going

after that Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, unfortunately. He's got Michigan State winning his first game. That's a swing state. He has Tennessee in the final four. This is a horrible bracket, Joe. He's got Houston, Tennessee, Yukon, Carolina. I mean, to be fair, that's mine, except I have Kentucky

and City Houston, but that's the liberal bracket right there. That's the way you go. Evangal Christian has 32 students between 9 through 12, Ryan. And presumably 10 of them are on this basketball team, right? Yeah, they made an effort to try to become a basketball power. And they got to put up against the kids to transfer in. Hey, why don't you come play basketball here? Do they have a medical program?

Yeah, biomed program. All right. So, Shannon, Drew just pulled up the Evangelist Christian website. I was trying to learn a lot more. And he just showed me, it looks like, are those the teachers? It's different positions. There's a principal director. It looks like all of the people that work there are the same blonde woman.

That's like creepy. It looks like they cloned. Okay, I'm not, listen, I'm sure these are wonderful people, but you start at the bottom. What's the bottom office the person has? Don't say their name. Director. The Foundation's Program Director. and you scroll up and the principal, they all are the same blonde woman.

Well, yeah, Eastern Kentucky's not used to be. The OVW. I don't know if you've ever seen that or not. No, I didn't see it, but I will look at it. I'd like to see that. But yes, they were together. at OVW at the same time. Yep, put a great light on the OVW, how they create these as an independent organization.

A.R. Ryan. I can't control my excitement. So, I mean, that's just the way it's going to be. What else you got? Would like your input on a prop that I saw that I know is popular for the NBA, and I don't see it for college. for Kentucky, Oakland, Oakland sets back in that zone over under one and a half three-pointers made in the first three minutes of the game. Even odds.

What do you think? I appreciate the call. I go under. We tend to start poorly and we don't have two of our best three-point shooters in at the beginning. I hope it's over. I'll go under with you. Yeah, I mean, we just, Ryan, we just don't put, if we had our best starters in, I might say over. But with the line up we start, I don't see us making two.

two threes to start. Yeah, it was 8 to 1 to start the game the other day against Texas A&M. That race to 10 is always anti-Kentucky. That's what- However, they will play zone. I mean, they will play zone, so presumably those will be the shots we get open. So maybe that's what you look at. Yeah, I mean, I think it's going to be a fun night if Kentucky does get some quick threes off. But Greg Campi said that's going to be their main goal is making sure they don't.

Do you think they play zone the whole game against us? I mean, that's going to be a tough road for them. I mean, nobody's. Really nobody's done that against us all year because I just think they think you don't want to give up wide open looks. From what I've seen reading up on them, I would be lying if I said I've watched them play game. But their coach does mix up his defenses. They have kind of a versatile zone they use. So I don't know.

They'll just sit in a zone and watch Kentucky shoot all game if it's working. No. Yeah, by the way, as you would expect, Shannon, the comments are perfectly reasonable to me posting Biden's bracket. Oh, I'm sure they are. Yeah. I'm sure they are. It's going to be entertaining for you. the rest of the day.

Yeah, I mean, there's certainly, everybody seems to be taking it in completely good spirit. I just noticed, I kept wondering why this Evangelist Christian didn't mention their tournament right. We were on the Ohio Evangelist Christian School website. So Pastor Rodney, different. Oh. So we were looking at Ohio.

Evangel Christian, Ohio. I'm like, where's their basketball team? It's no mention of it on this website. Sorry about that. Pastor Rodney was in Ohio and not in Kentucky. My bad. You know what? I still think they'll win today, even without that.

And he put them out. So I'm going to go region by region and give you the highlights. We'll start in the east. Mark Pope says his favorite musicians, Taylor Swift. Do you believe he? No. I feel like it's just like the hot pick right now. He probably doesn't listen to any kind of music and just picks somebody.

You think Mark Pope's favorite is Taylor Swift, Ryan? I was so embarrassed when I saw it. all that that Mark Pope picked Taylor Swift. Come on, Mark. Why? Why? Because it's popular. That's why.

Again, you think he even listens to Taylor. He probably doesn't listen to anything. All right. So in the East region, who was your, who were you most impressed with? Danny Hurley saying Pearl Jam? Did you like that one? Pearl Jam. Yes, that was my favorite out of the group.

What about the Iowa State coach saying Ed Sheeran, Drew? No, that's worse. I saw Rick Barnes said, Wait a minute. Let's go region by region. On Pope, if I'm not mistaken, he has a lot of daughters, like four daughters. So he probably is playing Taylor Swift nonstop. See, isn't that sweet Ryan? He would say Taylor Swift because of his daughters? It's embarrassing, Matt, to say you listen to Taylor Swift, so no. He should not have said that.

Ryan, again, back to the Ryan women. Like, he just hates Taylor Swift. I don't get it. I don't understand what his deal is with that. I liked on Kyle Smith from Washington State saying, digital underground. That's a very unique pick, isn't it? Shannon? Yeah, yeah. I would expect to see that one on that.
