But here's it. This is my bet for the next two days. I put $16 on this. Whoa. Big spender. The Champions League quarterfinals are today in soccer.

Who knows anything about the Champions League? Nobody. That's okay. They do? You all know about it? All right. So let me tell you my bet. There are four games.

You have Barcelona against PSG. That's a team from Paris. Okay. Then you have Dortmund, that's a German team, versus Atlago Madrid. And then you have Man City, Real Madrid, and then you have Bayern Munich and Arsenal. I made a bet plus 2,800 that every game will be tied at halftime. That's your bet. That's my bet.

All right, that was there. You like that? All four games, two of them are today, two of them or tomorrow. They have to be tied at halftime. Okay. it doesn't matter what the score is. They just have to be tied. And it's plus 2749.

And they actually have it as a special bet. Like you don't have to do it yourself. It's just on there. You can hit the little button. I saw it and I thought I like this. I like the idea that at halftime, they'll all be even. And the easiest way to be even is for no one to score, right? Because they're even when they start.

So today is Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain. And then Dortmund. I have a Dortmund shirt. and Atlico Madrid. Get those two. That's the two today. If they're tied at halftown, then we go into tomorrow with even more excitement. Drew, do you like that one?

Did you say you bet $16? I bet $16? I'm betting $16. Right now, I'm hitting it. There we go. Let's go, Drew. We got this. $16, Shannon, on four ties at halftime.

I like your chances. I think I might throw, I don't know if I'll do $16. I'm going to go maybe. Do $6? Four? Something like that? It's still, I mean, I bet $16. I win $457.

Oh, wow. They call it the halftime stale mate. It's called the halftime stalemate. And it's going to be, we're going to be stale and mating with success. Can't be doing that. I'm in. I've got $6 left after I lost everything for the Kentucky Oakland game. So you can put $6 on?

I'm going to put all six of my dollars on this. $6 from Ryan. Our first one's at three. So what? They're both at three. 90 minutes after that. Yeah. 430 is we'll know if we moved their next day.

So here's what I want to make a message to Barcelona, PSG, Dortman, and Atlago Madrid. Do not score. Do not score. The easiest way for it to be a tie is if all of you miss. So my goal is two straight nil-nill-nill halftime scores. I think we got this. I feel like we do.

Plus, when it comes to shirts, I have a PSG shirt. You do? I have a Dortmund shirt. You have a Dorman shirt. I have an Atlago Madrid shirt. So I have three of the four teams playing today. I have a shirt. I do not have a Barcelona shirt.

But I'm going to Barcelona this summer, so that counts too. So it feels like I have a connection to all these people. When does this first game start? They both start at three o'clock. Okay. They go on at the same time. Same time. Okay.

All right. I'm excited. Steven, did you put it on? I will. Yeah, I'm looking at it right now. The stalemate. The stalemate. Stalmate.

859-280. 22 a minute. I was thinking to myself. You said it wasn't baseball. I thought probably golf, maybe NASCAR. I didn't think it was going to be soccer. He didn't think it was going to be Champions League's off. I bet on it.

I got to watch it too, though. I can't be like Ryan. It's on Paramount. Things he doesn't watch. It's on Paramount if you want to watch him. I love afternoon soccer. It's on Paramount. All right.

So let Cal resignation letter came out. He sent it last week. Here was his resignation letter. Please accept this notice. Please accept this letter as notice that I will resigning my position as head basketball coach at the University of Kentucky. I don't think it's too much to ask when you resign to proofread. All right.

I will resigning is not English. All right. Then he says, my final day of work will be today, April 9th. He does, Drew, the double space after a period. Okay. That's the old man thing. You know, now you don't double space after periods. You just do one space.

A lot of people don't realize that. That's, you kind of can tell age if people are double spacing after their periods. I mix it up. I'm sorry. They're punctuation. But go ahead. I double space. I'm one of the guilty ones.

I do it. Thank you for the support and opportunities you have provided me over the course of the last 15 years. I'm committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. I wish you in the university continued success, sincerely, John Caliperi, and then he C-Ced President Eli Capiluno. And it was received by UK Tuesday the 9th at 2 p.m. which means he told the UK he was resigning three minutes before the Arkansas press release came out. I don't think that was coincidence.

I think that was, I guess legally they got to have a document in place. They received it at 2 o'clock, and the Arkansas released was at 203. I didn't put that together. I did notice it was a little short-winded for a 15-year breakup, but whatever. That's how he felt and felt like putting it in that sentence. That's up to him, but I didn't know about the couple minutes before. I feel like that's an extra kind of. Well, I mean, I kept saying he hasn't resigned and he hadn't resigned.

And then he finally did, right, moments before he took another dog. Was that like a crap? I forgot to get that. Well, I think it's like you better, you know, if you're going to resign, you're giving up $35 million. You're probably making sure the eyes are dotted and the T's crossed in Arkansas before you do that. Well, they didn't get the eyes and tease on the resignation. Didn't have time to proof rate it. Yes.

I think Arkansas must have had theirs ready. They probably talking to Kentucky, like, look, we can't release this until We're talking to Cal. Yeah, talking to Cal. You can't release this. We can't release this until you go officially resign in Kentucky. Mark Pope on his thing last night said if the fan, he wanted to put it up to fan vote. And if the fans wanted a throwback denim jersey uniform, they would do it.

So I put it up to vote. 27,000 people voted on Twitter, and 71% of Big Blue Nation would like the denim's to come back. They used to say it ain't denim, it's what in them. That's right. So do you want the denim jerseys back for one game? I'm sure they'll make them lighter. They used to be heavy back in the day. They'll probably find a new fabric, but would you like the denim?

You know, if you remember, when they wore those denim jersey, they got a lot of pushback on it. A lot of fans didn't like it. But now I think it's the exact opposite. I think we want that, that retro denim. May it just one game. One game. One game. Think about how much they would sell.

Like everyone. Everyone would buy a shirt or, you know, young people would buy a jersey. Women would buy jerseys, Drew will buy the shorts. Like everybody has the shorts. I'll buy more of them, though. I think they should wear them for every game. Yes. You wore the shorts yesterday.

Yeah. I'll make a little addition to this. Would you like to know who the 96 team played when they debuted the denim? Who's that? Arkansas. The University of Arkansas. Yeah. So you're saying, do you think Shannon bring the denim back for Arkansas?

For the Arkansas game. It all comes full circle. Dude, I'm going to tell you. February 11th, 1996 is the day the game changed. This city is never, ever going to be more electric. Assuming we're good, like assuming we're good enough that we don't think we're going to get crushed. Assuming we're good, this city will never be more electric than it will be for that Arkansas game. Can you imagine what that's going to be like?

I would say that will be, I'm going to make a prediction, the most expensive regular season ticket since Kentucky, North Carolina, the Anthony Davis year. That was extremely expensive because it was one versus two or one versus three or whatever it was, but I would say that will be the most expensive ticket and we're up since then. Do you agree? Sounds like a great time to wear a denim. There's no doubt it will be.

You know, Petino's first trip back when he came as a head coach of Louisville, play against tubby. That environment, I remember what you could just feel it. It was just something special in the air. But Louisville stunk that year. And this year, I think both teams will be good, be good, or at least competitive. Louisville was really bad that year because Louisville was trying to rebuild. And on the denim, that wasn't Nike, but Nike has since bought Converse. So, I mean, I'm sure they could work it out if they had to. I mean, they owned the company. Let's make it happen. Did you like the denim originally? I liked it. I mean, like I said, though, I know a lot of fans didn't. There was a lot of pushback that they didn't like what's your favorite random kentucky look i actually love i'm in the

minority but i love the silver jerseys we wore against michigan state yeah keep bogans one year i thought those were cool we'll never see them again because we lost but i bet i love those jerseys they were cool that silver that silver uniform i liked it drew's got the icicle pants on i'm wearing my number two denim's my number one and these are my number two the apex brand uh whatever happened to Apex. That's some good stuff for your Those were the most ridiculous pants. That was like 95, right? Oh, they were ridiculous.

I had the Tony Dog jersey to match. Who's up next? Po. Poe. How are you, Poe? Doing good. Thanks for having me on, guys, and I love what you do, and I appreciate everything you do. Thank you. And I listen, yes, sir.

And I listened to the press conference Saturday, and I almost wet. Really? Seriously. Yeah. No doubt about it. I'm not the only one, I bet. Oh, listen, I saw Gromans tears all over Rupp Arena Sunday. It was, you know, I think for people 33 to 35 and older,

it was like a throwback to why they fell in love with Kentucky basketball. I mean, I do think that was really probably what Sunday was for most of those folks. Yeah, it was awesome. And we love gal and what he's done. we needed to change and that's for sure. You know, the hardest thing is going to, go ahead, finish here, and I'll say what I was going to say. Go ahead.

Okay, thank you. I think, you know, he was built for March, built for March, we're too young, we're too young, and all this stuff just kept going on and on and on. But every game, especially home games, we should be winning. Kentucky should be winning at home. You shouldn't lose home. You shouldn't lose three games in a row at home.

Appreciate the call. We shouldn't only have one SEC. You shouldn't only have one SEC regular season championship since 2017. We shouldn't have only one SEC tournament. You know, but that is what it is. We are here now. Here's what I think is going to be interesting for Mark Pope. I think people 35 and older are going to want him to succeed so much they give him the benefit of the doubt.

Okay. Kids 17 and under don't even remember the great cow years. Think about that. They weren't, they were too young. The fan base that's going to be the hardest for Mark Pope is like 18 to 30 or 35. Because those people grew up in the cow golden years. Their fandom was created in the cow years where it was all NBA players. And they are still the ones that are like, we lost what Kentucky was to me.

That's going to be who he has to win over. Those like 18, those are the ones online that lose. their minds getting angry about people with Cal. Those are the ones I think, Ryan, that Mark Pope has to go out and win over over the coming years. I think you're exactly right. I think, yeah, the older fan were going to be a little grace, I think, in building this first roster. But you're right, the younger fans, they want, expect it to win and get back to the national temperature level right now.

They tend, and this is what I've noticed, and I keep, I point at Mario, because he's in this age group. But those people tend to forgive him for the recent years. They grew up during the best years, and they don't remember that we were good before him. Like, they don't remember that Patino won a title or Tubby won a title or whatever. Like, they don't remember that. So to them, they're like, this dude who won us everything. And if they do remember, they remember Billy Gillespie or the very end of the tubby years where he wasn't doing great. So I think those will be the people.

If I was being Mark Pope's PR person, I'd be like, you need to read. out to the young people. The younger fans need to realize that John Caliperi did not create Kentucky basketball. It was good before him and it will be good after. Yeah, and I think Sunday went a long way with that generation. I mean, I asked Mario over here. He never even heard of Mark Pope and there's several people that hadn't heard of Mark Pope that are his age. But then when you look at that arena and you're like, wow, Kentucky's on fire for Mark Pope. I'm getting on board too. I'll learn more about this guy because it's clear we're going back in the right direction with everyone on board.

They always say, I've read that people with Saturday Night Live, always think that Saturday Night Live was the best when they were in college, right? Well, I think the same thing is true with basketball with like high school. Whatever you grew up in high school with as UK basketball is what you think this is. And high school for me was 93 to 96, right? So like I, that to me is UK basketball and this is kind of a re-injection of that. Bluegrass Home Center is now open in London. He knew Petino from New York and he committed immediately. I remember how the years line up with him coming in. I should have said Mashprint. That's the only player I could think of, but I thought Petino had a year before him too. So there you go.

I would have never gotten G.J. Villarito. No. I could have been guessing for months and not going, got him. Oh, look, we got a dinner. Pope did him walking in. That's McCarty, but there's a denim jersey walking in right now. But go ahead. I was going to say, yeah, I went to the press conference the other day with my wife and my family.

And, you know, I grew up with the 96 team is one of my, you know, that was when I became a huge cats fans, obviously. But it was a special moment because I've got two kids my own now, and I've got a three-year-old and a six-month-old. And the three-year-old, I wasn't, you know, I haven't taken her any games or anything like that. So I wasn't sure how she'd react because it's super loud in there.

But within the first, like, when he started talking, it was hilarious and awesome to watch because she just took the cues on and started clapping and, like, cheering whenever else was doing. So it was like a huge and awesome moment for me, come full circle because I grew up, you know, watching that as a little kid. And I hope that's like a core memory for her coming up and like, you know, start her big fandom into the UK, you know, lifestyle.

Yeah, no, I think there's, that's great. I think there's a lot of people, uh, that would feel the, feel the same way. So I, uh, I appreciate the call. By the way, Joe Lannardi says he's going to put out a bracketology. Can you put out of bracketology when nobody even has a team? Like, how could you even know, Houston is preseason number one? No, Duke is preseasoned number one. Last team in is San Francisco.

That's what they do. They call it way too early. I think he even has BYU in there, and I mean, they don't know anything. At this moment, let's see, he does not have us in the tournament. We only have two players. You don't even know the roster. You can't possibly pick who's going to be in a tournament. I do feel like it.

I can't get mad at him for not having us in the tournament when we don't have a roster yet. Right, yeah. He's got BYU in the first four out. They don't have a coach. We have three players. We're not going to win many games. Yeah, I think we should just go in with two. Colin Chandler and Travis Perry.

Bob and Jamestown, 859-280-2287. What's up? Calipari was doing a Arkansas interview, and they asked him. He said, well, did you think you stayed too long at Kentucky? And then Cal referred to a conversation he had with Joe B. And he said, well, you know, that's a 10-year job. Yeah. So Cal went out and admitted that he stayed five years, probably too long.

Well, he did stay. He did stay. Well, let me put it like this. He stayed five years too long if he thinks he stayed here five years too long. What I mean by that is in 2019, he considered taking the UCLA job. If, and now he says he wish he had. That means he really almost went then, and if that's where his heart is, that's where he should have gone. He should have done that.

I think this job can be more than 10 years, but I do think, Bob, 10 years is a lot. And, you know, it was best, it certainly was best for it to end now. I appreciate the call. That's one of the reasons, you know, look, let's be real. At some point, Mark Pope's going to struggle a little bit. Like, that's just going to happen. It might happen initially. And there are going to be people who are going to see Cal at some point will do well at Arkansas and go,

oh, should we have done this? I respect Cal and I respect his time here. But I'm never going to feel sorry for him. He walked away on his own. We did not fire him. It's getting lost in the shuffle a little bit, but Mitch Barnhart sat right beside him and with a lot of fans wanting him to do the opposite, said we are in this together. We are going to leave this school together.

He did it. Barnhart stuck his neck out for him. And then Cal left. So I'm not going to feel sorry for it. He didn't get run out. He's a grown man. He left. I wish him the best, but he left. And so he wasn't an option.

news report about Iran and Israel. I guess that happened Sunday. So because of that, it extended the Masters telecast three minutes too long. But the CBS executives didn't make the connection in their head that there had been three minutes of the Israel-Iran thing, which, by the way, also shows modern society. Israel and Iran look like they're going to go to war. We'll give it three minutes and then get right back to golf. I get to Scotty Sheffler.

So, so anyway, it goes three minutes too long. So then it comes time for the concert that night. And, you know, it's 2024. You think this would be automatic. But they don't schedule the concert for three minutes longer. So all

across the East Coast and the Midwest, as he comes to sing Piano Man for his final goodbye, it just cuts off like it's a hard break. And you don't get to see, goodbye. So all these Billy Joe fans who their whole point was to say goodbye to Billy Joe, they don't even get to say goodbye. He's just taken from them. So now CBS apologizes, and now they're

going to show the whole concert again on Friday night because Billy Joe fan Shannon were so up in arms that they didn't get to say goodbye to the piano. I feel like Billy Joel deserves that respect, right? Put some respect on his name. Good thing now, though, with YouTube, you can go back and watch it, you know. If this happened back in the 80s or 90s, you'd have to be over. VCR set, and if you missed it, you'd never see it again. But this is a win for Billy Joel. Oh, yeah. Because, first of all, I would not have talked about him saying goodbye.

I wouldn't have even known, to be honest with you. But secondly, now he gets to show it again. So he gets like a second showing. So, Drew, I would say, Billy Joel, a big winner in all this. He won, but the timing was terrible. I saw it. It's right at the best part of the song. It does a crowd shot.

Everyone is standing up and singing. It's like, here it comes. He's about to hit the note. and then the CBS logo pops up. That goes to something else. Someone in the room has to be over the button. Like, we can't do this right now. What was next that was so important?

Like, what was the next? Local news. Like, we couldn't cut off the first minute of that. That's Billy standing there with the button ready. No, the hard out coming. Sorry, Billy Joel. Sorry, Billy Joel. The hard out comes for everyone.
