If you believe this, that would mean Joe Biden could order the military to shoot Donald Trump and it would be okay. And the Trump lawyer said, well, I guess yes. We don't want that. We don't need our presidents just shooting each other. I don't think we want that, right? I don't think we

want that to happen. Yeah, in the debate, he could just pull out a gun and start whacking people. He didn't like their answer. You can't do that if you're the president. Really? Every letter? Everything. So here they are. You ready? I'm ready. At number 10. Barberville High School.

How about that? How about Barville? Yeah. The Barville Tigers. Barville. Who knew that? No kidding. Right there.

They go down to Union College. it's the genius is spreading over to Barberville High School. Like 50 kids in each class. That's so small. Number nine, Ballard. Ballard High School. These are all public schools, by the way. These are public schools.

Jane Lyndon? Number eight, Lafayette. Yes. Number seven, South Oldham. Uh-huh. Is that where Billy went? He went to one of the Oldums. He's an old one.

He went to the worst. The other old. Number six, Pacville. Parkville Painters. Number five, Beachwood. Okay. Number four, Atherton. Okay.

Number three, Highlands. Number two, that school that I always forget exists till we do this list every year, Shannon, Jay Graham Brown. Oh, yeah. We talk about it. I'm not convinced it exists. Every year it's on this list.

You ever met one person, Shannon, that went to Jay Graham Brown. Not one, but it's on the list every year. And they don't have any sports teams? Yeah, small, small. But I don't believe it exists. It's there. Have you met one person that ever went to Jay Graham Brown? No.

And every year I see. them on the list and I'm like that's not a school. We could go there just to make sure it's there. Maybe they'll let us go sometime. And then number one, and they win this a lot, manual in Louisville. So manual, Jay Graham Brown, Highlands, Atherton, Beechwood, Pockville,

South Oldham, Lafayette, Ballard, and Barville. Jay Graham Brown is just two blocks from us here at 4th Street. So I can go by there today and verify that it stands. Just make sure it exists. And if it doesn't, I'll need you to file something with the U.S. Nair. I'm a little surprised because

always Dunbar is always the top. The bar was 12. The bar was 12th. And I want to say one of the other schools in Lexington may have been 14th. Frederick Douglass, by the way, amongst the public high schools in Lexington was last. But, you know, as far as their medical program, they're number one. Biomed program.

They are number one. Rastor turnover. Yeah. So there you go. That's the ringings. You know, there was a lot of small schools in that top ten list. I was kind of surprised. Pikeville's been on it before.

Pikeville, Bargetown, Beachwood? Beachwood, yes. I mean, Barberville, Barville. I'm surprised. I don't remember ever seen Barberville on the list, but congratulations to them for making the list. Atherton, that's the Jack Harlow School, right? That's where he went. That's why, I think that's why it was up there.

They got a little bump. So that's how they factor in. First class Harlow bump. Got the rap cred. Jack Harlow bump moves them. If I'm at North Oldham, I'm immediately attacking Southville. saying don't you come in here thinking you're smarter than not or just regular oldham because there's three oldham counties oh there's also a regular oh there's olden south

I finally figured out the one voice on there that I really like, and I always ask my husband and my son, and they keep telling me. So I think it's Drew's voice. So is he the one with the mustache or? So a couple of things. You know, I mean, I want our players to stay and develop and, you know, get some time under their belt at UK. But if you compare it to open industry for kids who are like 18 years old and don't go to college and say they get a job somewhere, industry doesn't get to know what people make. So I have a hard time believing that they can do much about it. Well, they can. So they can. I mean, so. And again, I don't want to turn this into a law class.

But if Congress were to make a law that either limited the money or put a cap on it or whatever, they could do that. They can do that because they do it in some other areas. They can do it. but it has to be Congress. The NCAA cannot do anything. I got you. I got you. Second of all, I just wanted to say,

this J.C. Hoops guy that's been commenting on your stuff on Twitter, don't even acknowledge him. He's just trying to build his platform like you guys did. I mean, he's a total DB. But anyway, well, I appreciate the call. It is very clear to me, Ryan, that Arkansas fans, slash media.

It is unbelievable to me how much they are in my mentions, how much they, like, how just obsessed that, like every single tweet I put out, no matter what it's about, I'm just have Arkansas people in it. And most of the time they're telling me I'm obsessed with Arkansas while they are commenting on my comments. I want them to lose, in part just so all of them have to eat it. But it's clear, the Arkansas media, with the exception, there's one guy down there I like, his name is I think John neighbors.

I know John neighbors. I like him. John and I have always gotten along. But most of them see like, okay, my way to get in with the Arkansas fan base is to bash Matt Jones because Arkansas fans off. I mean, I probably have, Ryan, 3,000 Arkansas fans that follow me right now. It's crazy. Well, we've seen this over the years.

For a while, it was the Indiana fans all banding together, and you were the target when they thought they were pounding their chest. Now the Arkansas guys are up. They're pounding on their chest right now. I understand why Louisville fans do it. Yes. Like, they're our rival. Fair enough.

I understand why Indiana fans do it. Tennessee fans are a little obsessive, but I even understand them. But Arkansas, it's all like, it's like you and your wife divorce, and she marries a new guy, and all that guy can talk about is the old husband. It's like you've got her now, for better or worse. Like, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. But that problem is in your hands now. You can leave me out of it, right?

And my favorite thing to do with Arkansas people on Twitter right now is you don't have to scroll that far back to find their tweets making fun of Cal Perry. And if you just screenshot it and send it right back to them, they get really confused and shut up because they hated Cal for over a decade. And now they have this weird thing where they're looking in the mirror like, uh-oh, I've said a lot of bad things about our coach.

Did you see the video of Cal Channing raising money for NIL? No, no. Okay, you need to play that video. Calling the hogs. You need to play the video. It's like 30 seconds. He's asking for money for NIL. Listen, I'm not...

He looks sad. No, I mean, he does. First of all, he's reading off a teleprompter. He has no energy at all. Did you see it? And we said this after his introductory newscons. He just looks like he's not interested. And I think this video is the same.

It's like he's not engaged with it. I haven't felt bad for Cal yet, because he left us. But that video, man, I was like, home. He looks down. He looks. I've never seen him read off a teleprompter before either.

I mean, he read, he's reading off a teleprompter. You can see his eyes. Even Arkansas fans replying like this isn't good. He's not going to be here more than a couple of years. Is it on Twitter? I don't see it on his. It's on, yeah, I think it's on whatever. What's Cal's Twitter account now?

Like Coach Cal Noah's Arkansas or something. Coach Cal Arc. That's crazy, too. Crazy. It's Coach Cal Arc. It just didn't seem like him. If he did that, well, he did it at UK. Just a month ago, he's up and he's not reading.

If he does in the UK, he's just ad libin and he's like, you know, we need, in Arkansas, he's like, my name is John Calapary. I am being held hostage in this state that is not very fun. Can you please give us money? That's exactly true for my release. I think he deleted it. Oh, it's still out there. There might not have been on his profile.

It's not on. Yeah, it's not on his. What if they deleted it because it's so. It's not on his profile. We'll see if we could find it. It wasn't, well, some Kentucky fans. We'll see if we could find it. It might be the case.

Dan, go ahead, Dan. Hey, Matt. I got a couple of things here. Anyway, my granddaddy, I'm 70, okay? So I remember my granddaddy listening to the wildcast and there'd be 10 kids running around the room. He'd have his ear up to it. I was on tobacco market for 30 years in our southwestern here in Lexington.

Anyway, we'd have to go out east on tobacco market. And we would ride around in the evening trying to get to the highest point so we could listen to the wildcats. So I think with hope coming and the way that Ruff Arena, all that that feeling kind of came back from me. And that's what it reminded me of. Yeah, no, I think that's for a lot of people. There's a lot of people that feel like Pope is that connection to the Kentucky that they kind of grew up on or whatever. Yeah, and look, I got a switching gears, I got an illegal question for you. How many times can you keep appealing something and then appeal it and peel it and peel it?

When does it ever stop? Well, I mean, there are levels of appeals. In Kentucky state, in state, you have your trial. you can go to appeals court, you could go to the Kentucky Supreme Court, and then at times the U.S. Supreme Court. In the federal system, you have district court, appeals court, Supreme Court. So it's not like you can appeal and appeal and appeal. There's levels up there.

Does that make sense? Yeah, that makes sense. And the Supreme Court only chooses a few cases. So for most people, the court of appeals is it. Oh, so that's it then. For most people, yes. All right. Appreciate you guys.

So you hear people say, I'm going to appeal this to the Supreme Court. Chances are very high. They're going to just say no. They turn down like a hundred cases for every one they take. But the buck stops there. The buck stops there. That's right. We'll play that tape when we return.

Welcome back Kentucky Sports Radio. We got a couple of people here from Robertson County. Robertson County. You know, only 2,200 people are from Robertson County. So it's like we got celebrities here. That's the smallest county in Kentucky. It's tiny. And two of them are here.

So it's like seeing a panda. You know, there aren't very many of them. And when you see them, you need to protect them. And that's what this is like right now in Robertson, what is it? What is it? Is it the, yeah, I'm trying to think what the city was. Yeah.

When I wrote my book, Robertson County, I was like, all right, we're in Robertson County. And then I was like, oh, wait a minute. We've already left Robertson County. But we found out and got our thing, and now it's nice to see him. What, you remember what the story was? I think it was tobacco stuff, right? I think that's what I think that's what I wrote about. That's not the county where it rained meat up there, did it?

That's Bath County is the meat shower. All right, so this. I like Mario. You know, you can tell Mario didn't listen to KSR before he started because we do references and he just gets a look on his face. There was a meat shower in Bath County where just meat. fell from the sky. Actual meat.

Like, like, they think vultures ate a bunch of meat and then threw up in the air and it all went down and rained from the sky. I'm not kidding. You're looking at me like I'm making this up. Look up when you get time, Bath County Meat Shower. They think it was vault. They don't know for sure. But they think vultures ate meat that was like infected and they all got up in the sky and they all threw up and it rained on Bath County. Yes.

I feel like we're overwhelming him, though. He just learned about chain rock and Kuzoo. I mean, he's taking in a lot of the KSR hits we've played over the years. He is. All right. So this is Cal not quite being swaggy Cal and asking for money at Arkansas. Razorback fans. I'm honored to be the head basketball coach of your Arkansas Razorbacks

A little nervous here, but on Monday, I think it was, y'all had a caller calling, and he was talking about his favorite UK players. And I never thought in a million years I would hear my grandfather, Wilbershoe, be called. Oh, that's your grandfather. That's neat. So I learned after the show that they said 4F and freshmen, and 4F was the U.S. military's term for medical deferments. you were a 4F. So the 4F and freshmen were there were four guys who had gotten medical deferments. But yeah, so I'm glad you got to hear your grandpa's name.

Yeah, that was pretty cool, man. I just know he played football too. So I know he'd be really proud of the legacy that UK has become. And I feel like he was one of the people that first started, you know, playing in 1942 to 46. So definitely the start of it. Well, that is very cool. I'm glad you got to hear it. You know, yeah, you should be proud of your grandfather.

And that's one of the great things about this show. We bring up a random name from the 40s that played basketball, and his grandson is out there hearing it and gives him a little sense of pride. So that's awesome. It's a great story. Apparently, by the way, Jay Graham Brown School does have sports teams. They're just really bad. I thought it was it's not just a female-only school, is it?

I don't think so. I think it's guys, too. Okay. Why? You're thinking, there are private schools in Louisville that are female. And Atherton, Sacred Heart. Mercy, maybe, is that a place? But I don't think there, I don't think there's a public school that is just,

guys and just women. I don't know. Is there a public school in Kentucky that's all male or female? I would assume no. I don't even know. Actually, I don't know. Are there public schools that are all male or female anywhere? I can't think of one. I mean, I'm sure there is somewhere, but I can't think of one in Kentucky, at least off the top of my head. I know we've got the club blue. We had La Familia and all that. But is the money actually paid from a private fund or funneled to the university to the kids? It's a private fund. So it's a so like Club Blue and then the 15 Club, which are kind of the two main ones for Kentucky, Commonwealth Causes is part of Club Blue. It's a private entity. it can be for profit or not for profit

and the money it goes through that so there are no disclosure requirements for how much money goes through it either by who donates it or by who they give it to and so that's part of why I said it's kind of the wild west

right right because if it was I was thinking it was through a public university like University of Kentucky you could and that's partially why why, I mean, universities are hesitant to, there's a lot of reasons they don't want to make students, you know, athletes, employees, but one of them is the disclosure requirement. You know how much they're paying? I mean, what's it going to look like one day, Drew, when you're playing your college athletes more than you're paying your professors, which is almost certainly going to

happen one day. So you're right, sir. I mean, it not going through the university is part of why there's no disclosure. Gotcha. Okay, that's what I needed. Thanks, guys. Yeah. So it is a weird system. And it's also a system where, you know, I think for Kentucky, when this, when NIO first got started, there were like five or six companies that wanted to be the NIL thing. And it's now kind of settled into two. There's a third that does a little bit, but it's kind of settled Ryan into this norm, whereas at first I thought they were going to be like 10 trying to do it. And it seems like one's kind of more for football and one's kind of more for basketball. Kind of. Yeah. But also remember like, Again, let's use KS Bar as an example.

That can't be the name of it. The name of it is not Susie Academy. I think it's the Susie Academy. It's Susie Academy in Lexington, All-Girls STEM School for elementary. And it's called the Susie Academy. Like they just named it after a woman. Susie's got to stand for something. Maybe, you know, like science.

It's not S-U-S-I-E. Like that text message makes it looks like it's someone's name, Shaded, name Susie. Is this a homeschool? Susie in her kitchen. It can't just be a person named Susie. I don't know. We'll have to look it up. All right.

That's really the only thing I'm going to pay attention to tonight. You don't care about like whether or not Drake May is going to fall or Jaden Daniels go second or did somebody trade up for J.J. McCarthy? You don't care about those things? No, not really. What about you? Do you? I love the draft. Love the draft. I'm wearing my Titans draft hat. I'm excited to see, it is from a couple years ago. I'm excited to see what we do for Levis because that seventh pick is all about Levis. Probably going to be an offensive tackle, but they might go crazy and get one of those receivers for them. Shannon, are you interested in the draft? No, because my team is good and they're not going to pick until the very end. And

probably end up with nobody. So no, I'm not really that excited. Bears only have four picks. But they got the first one. But two of them are in the first round. Yeah, they only have four. Yeah, they only have four picks, period, but two of them in the first round, and then they only have another pick for, like, a long time. I saw where Marvin Harrison Jr. was kind of trying to tank a little bit, and they were speculating he's trying to follow the bears. Y'all aren't pulling any funny business, are you? Well, we talk to some people. Okay. And we got, we got stuff going on. We've got stuff going on. I'm not worried about it. I read an article that I think some of you are going to go down a wormhole or excuse me a rabbit hole and you're going to find this fascinating.

Some of you won't care, but nevertheless I'm going to tell you. Do you know where Spruce Pine, North Carolina is? Do not. Do not. Shannon, you know where Spruce Pine, North Carolina is? Never heard of it. What if I told you that I read an article in the New Yorker while I was watching the Reds game last night that said it's the most important town in the United States and one of the most important towns in the

world. I'll throw the flag on that. It's between Asheville and Boone, North Carolina. Okay. Would you like, only 2,000 people live there? Why is it so important? Because court, it is the only place in the world, or one of only two places in the world where you can get where there's 100% pure quartz in the ground. Now, do you know why you need 100% pure quartz? Do not. Okay. So silicone that's used in like your, phone like it's like silicone chips and all that i guess the and it's like used in everything we use in computers and everything it's like immensely important in order to get pure silicone for your phones for all this stuff you have to boil it in quartz because quartz is the only thing that can

boil it without spoiling i'm being very simplistic yeah but you can only you have to put it at like 27 000 degrees and the only material that can hold that and then not infected is quartz. All right? So there's not a lot of courts in the world. And all of America's courts and most of the Western world's courts come from this little town in North Carolina.

This article said, if anyone ever tried to do something like poison this town, it could ruin the world's economy like overnight. They wouldn't be able to produce phones, televisions, computers, everything. So this town is

in the mountains of North Carolina. and one company owns the land where it gets all the quartz. It's a Belgian company. Here was the thing that was crazy to me. Shannon, this place is so secret that you have to have, like, all these credentials to get into it. The writer couldn't even get into it. When equipment in the mine breaks and they have to bring people in to fix it, Shannon, they blindfold them.

Sounds like a movie. So they don't know how to get where they're going. So if a piece of equipment, they meet them at the front gate, blindfold them, and then take them where they are to fix it. All right, but anyway, it came out last week, Jerry Jones of the Cowboys, since he is in Arkansas long. We talked about that. Yeah, we talked about that. All right, well, see, here's why it's going to have to be a limit put on it. Say next year, and you take the top 10 recruits in the nation, Arkansas wants them. All these billionaires get together, you know, what is to stop them? Nothing.

But that doesn't mean they're going to win. I mean, sir, we've gotten those guys for 15 years. How many titles did we win? None. Well, we won one. So, I mean, my view is, let's just assume Arkansas gets all the top guys. They probably will. Guess what?

That doesn't mean they're going to win. I mean, that doesn't mean they're going to win. So, you know, it's not like, and I appreciate the call. So let's take pro sports. In pro sports, Ryan, you know that Shohei Otani's the best baseball player. Yes. Like, you know it. And there's year after year after year of proof.

And so baseball put in a luxury tax to try to keep teams from getting all the best players. Now, they still some of them do. them, but they have a punishment. In college sports, we may think we know who will be the best, but it's not proven, Ryan, because the sample size isn't this big. It's not like the NBA where I know Yokic and Luca and Janus are the best. These guys haven't proven themselves yet, so you can end up with a Zach Eadie or a Donovan Klingin that ends up being really, really good.

We saw it a little bit last year with this team. You know, they're coming in, DJ Wagner and Justin Ever, supposed to be the two. Perfect example, yes. The two best players, the NBA prospects, and ended up being Robin Reed, ended up being the best. Antonio Reeves coming out of college, nobody wanted, and he's in All-American.

Dalton Connect will be a lottery pick. I think buying all those players, Drew, won't necessarily change anything. No, that's why fans just have to change in their brain. Hey, it's a different game now. I think the portal players come from mid-majors or the stars in college basketball these days. And like with Antonio Reeves, I'm sure when he came over, a lot of Kentucky fans were a little skeptical. No one thought we were going to have an All-American at that point. I thought you were getting a good bench player.

So whoever we end up with, if they are from an Illinois state or something like that, give them a chance because you don't know it could be the next Dalton Connector, Antonio Reeves. Aduthierro last year was objectively better than Aaron Bradshaw. There's nothing to have suggested that until the season. season start, right? Yep. So I do think it will obviously help you have a chance to win if you have all the money, but it doesn't guarantee anything, in my opinion.
