Starting point is 00:00:00 Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Quarterback on office blue 42. A rep, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clifford Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Comedy Up Broadway and Lexington welcomes Michael Pallasack, May 17th and 18th. Then catch Kevin Farley, May 23rd through the 25th. And don't miss Sam Morel.
Starting point is 00:01:54 May 31st through June 2nd. Comedy Up Broadway opened in downtown Lexington in 1987, and they're still bringing the Best and Stand Up Comedy to the area 37 years later. Call 859-271 joke or visit Comedy OffBroadway.com. Welcome, everyone. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. I am Matt Jones here on, what is today? Thursday, Thursday, the 16th at the PGA Championship,
Starting point is 00:02:26 where we are in the media tent and very excited. You can give us a shout on the Clark's Pump and Shop phone line. 859-280-2287. A Vision Auto Glass text machine is 772-7474-5254. This edition is sponsored by the T.J. Smith Law Office called T.J. O'Makeem Pay. I got here just a couple minutes ago, but I'm glad to be here. I'm very excited. How cool is this? I know you guys were on the pre-show, but how cool is this setup right here? It's incredible. I mean, it's amazing. We're in this media tent, and this is like something you see at a dome and a final four. It's all professional. on? I think it's nicer than that. Can I tell you when we were rolling up, I was so excited
Starting point is 00:03:04 because I look out my window, and there's John Daly on a golf cart smoking a cigarette. I go, I've already seen everything I need to see here. Let's turn around and go back. That made you happy. That was all you needed. So I just, I was nearly late. You came in hot. Because right in front of the golf course, a bus has hit a car, Drew. It's not good. Which is, which sounds not good. It looks like everybody's okay. But if you are driving here, Good luck. Like, don't come to the course. I mean, go wherever you're going to get on shuttles, but basically they're letting the buses cut around.
Starting point is 00:03:40 But if you're a car, because I almost said, you know how I am, I'm like, eh, shuttle from 30 minutes away. I'll just drive there and pay for parking. That would have been a disaster. I had never gotten here. Don't drive a car because they're letting the buses go by, but the cars are creeping along. There's also nowhere to park. You can't park here.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Yeah, well, there was a couple lots, like pay lots way back there, but you don't want to do it. When I knew you were stuck in traffic, I was just in my mind seeing you getting out of the shuttle and walking the rest of the way. I considered it. I was like, he's not going to sit there. He's going to get out and walk. He's going to get out until the bus driver. My man, my man, go over here. Let me drive. Yeah, let me drive. I can get around this. I wouldn't. I mean, as nice as this course is, it's not in a place that's easily accessible, Drew. Like, you got a, I mean, there's only two lanes in and out, and then one, you know, two of them are taken up by busing a car hitting. each other. I don't even know where we are. I just got on the bus and rode on in and here we are. I was on the 630 bus. I didn't see you guys on that one. What time did you leave Lexington? Five.
Starting point is 00:04:40 My man's happy to be here. It's a major tournament. That's a very good point. Somebody is very excited to be here. You're going to play a major tournament an hour from my bed? Heck yeah, I'm going to be there every minute you'll let me be here. So you left at five and you got on the media shuttle at 630? Yeah. Excuse me. It might have been on the six. I might be getting backwards. I pulled up. They were closing the door and I I ran to it because I wouldn't wait in another 30 minutes. That means he got up at like 4 o'clock this morning. I mean, I was pretty much out of bed.
Starting point is 00:05:07 So you're very excited. For you, this is like, this is heaven. I've already seen 20 big names. Big names. I watched Tiger T. Off, Justin Thomas, Rory. Oh, you've already watched golf. Lots of it, yeah. See him.
Starting point is 00:05:18 So Michael Block, T. Off at 7.15. Look at Ryan. Look how excited he is. That's kind of cool. Well, I first got here. Of course, I went straight for the media breakfast. And Drew was already in there. And he's like, yeah, I've already been out walking.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Of course, I saw Tiger T off and I'm good. I came in a little breakfast before you started. I saw a boy Stephen Yeager go off. Yeah, no, Stephen. Stephen who accused me of being a sandbagger at the, what do you say? The Barbisol Proa. The Barbissau Proa. He said, I took too high of a handicap.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Every time I see him, he still says that to me. But yeah, I'm a little different spirits than the rest of y'all. No, you're happy. I might be the last one to leave also. Drew couldn't get the video of Tiger Tying off, so he was taking a video of someone else's video. I saw that. It's ridiculous how many people have phones up.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I didn't want to do it, even though I have a photographer badge. But every person over there has their hands up with a phone. So we're going to be a little giddy today. We'll talk sports, but we're also just going to try to have fun, paint the picture. We are in the media tent. There's a ton of people. It's a very cool, it's a very cool scene, right? Electronic scoreboard, as I predicted, they're going to tear this course apart.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Like, it's already started and, you know, all the good players are under PARs, and her Shoffley's already four under. Like, they're going to tear this course apart because it's not, you know, it's not that hard, Ryan, so I think the winner's going to shoot like 17-18 under probably. See, I don't know the course, but I know hole number 13 must be the easiest hole in the course. It's an easy hole for anybody good, but there's an island green. And I have not hit. So you just, you hit like an iron to hit it down and then you hit another iron to hit into the green.
Starting point is 00:06:57 First of all, I always hit it into the rough, which you can't get to the green from. And then when I do, I'm never not hitting it, hit it in the water. Like that water, it's so funny because you're right. Like the top six guys, top seven guys have all birdied it. Yep. Right? I don't know that I've ever even parted it. That hole is in my head mentally, and I just cannot get a park.
Starting point is 00:07:23 So what's the best you've shot out here at Vahala? We know your Bethpage Black score. Well, I mean, I don't play it back. I mean, I don't play it back. I mean, it's 7,400 yards for these guys. I've played the blue, and I've probably shot 84, maybe, something like that. So what will the winning score you think be if you had to project it? 16, 17 under. Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Now, again, it's going to rain tomorrow, which will make it longer, but it'll also make it easier because they'll be able to plop it at the – so I don't know. It could be 20 depending on – you know, I mean, but they're tearing it up right now. The good thing about it being manageable for everyone is maybe Scotty Sheffler will have competition. It won't be up by 10 on Sunday. I think there will be a pack of people that are kind of. Well, the reason you've had Tiger and Rory win here is because the way it's set up, you've got to go low to win, which means the good guys.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Like, you either, to get the good guys to win, you either want to make it easy or really hard. When it's in the middle, a lot of guys can win. And so that's why, I mean, look at the top. You got Zander, you got Jordan Speeth, you got Rory. It's guys you've all heard of. I've seen some guys in the rough, though. Tiger had a bad shot to start. One guy was in the rough, and then another was in the sand trap to start off.
Starting point is 00:08:34 So did you walk around too? No, I've just been watching it here on the big screen. Now, let me ask you a question. So I know the answer to this for Drew. He's going to, every moment he's going to be here, he's going to watch golf. Are you two, because neither of you are golfers, but you have a world-class event in your backyard. You have a legend in Tiger Woods, but you also have future legends, live and regular tour together, which only happens four times a year.
Starting point is 00:09:00 And honestly, probably the best field of the year is here right now. Are you all going to watch any golf? Or the moment is this over, you're getting on the shuttle and going on. I'm going to be on the first thing smoking right back to the media. So you just don't care. I really don't. I mean, it's cool to be here. If I'm being completely honest with you, I just don't follow golf.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Here's what that's funny about you. Yeah. There are so many people listening to this. who their dream would be to live your life, Shannon. Just think about Shannon's life. He gets to go to the final four when Kentucky makes it, which hasn't been in a while. But he gets to go to the NCAA tournament.
Starting point is 00:09:36 He gets to go to the PGA. We've been to political conventions. You didn't get to go. But we've been to political events. We've been to the White House. Lambo. Lambo. You get to go to all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:09:46 And most of the time, the moment you can go to bed, you go to bed. Wait a minute now. You were the one trying to get us out of Lambo, trying to leave her. That was your team. Yeah, but I mean, like most of the things we go to, I appreciate, and I really enjoy. But you're us, there are people whose dreams it would be to sit right here. Yeah. And you're just like.
Starting point is 00:10:06 I'm living their dream then, I guess. I do want to point out, I can still get credential to the White House, the Oklahoma City Thunder, most UK games, now the PGA championship of Valhalla, but not the SEC. No, not the SEC. Forget about it. Forget about it. I told you why that guy said he wouldn't get you in, though. Remember? What did you say? I can't remember. He said, so I ran into the guy who gets the SEC, who does the credentials. And I was like, look, I know it's too late for this year. But next year,
Starting point is 00:10:34 could you get Shannon Grigsby? I mean, he's our producer. We kind of need him. And he said that they looked it up and they saw you were Shannon the dude. And they didn't know that they wanted that kind of energy. Oh, please. Oh, come on. I bet he's fun at parties. that's the reason. I didn't apply for the credential. I didn't apply for the credential. I put your regular name. I put Grigsby on there.
Starting point is 00:11:00 But I said, I showed him the cartoon of the show, and I was like, that's Shannon. And he goes, oh, okay. He said, well, next year, call me before it starts, and we'll try to make it. So maybe Ryan he gets in. I guess Tom Hart didn't have an alias that he applied for. Well, no, I mean, think about it. Yeah. If Dick Vitale replied is Dick the dude.
Starting point is 00:11:20 I'm not sure if he would get in. So maybe that's part of it. That's why he doesn't. We talked about with Tim Anstead when he was still here, and he said, Shannon applies as Shannon Grigsby. And so in the UK media looks over the list, they don't know who Shannon Grigsby is. But if you went as Shannon the dude, they probably would like. So maybe I should do that. Maybe that's where I've been screwing up.
Starting point is 00:11:41 I don't put my real last name. That was Tim Anstead's philosophy-wide. You never got to prove because they don't know who Shannon Grigsby is. Exactly right. I'll put it in quotation. All right. So we're going to, we'll be giddy here today. It's just one of those days when we're away.
Starting point is 00:11:53 where things get kind of exciting. We do have some news. Do you have the breaking news button, Rick? Yes. The University of Kentucky has gotten their 11th commitment of the year. Ansley Almanor picks Kentucky from Fairley Dickinson. You may remember, first of all, he was on the team that beat Purdue in the first round when they were a one seed.
Starting point is 00:12:20 You also may remember last tournament they got stuck in the elevator. Those are the two things that most people know about Fairley Dickinson. But he comes to Kentucky, three-point shooter, another guy that they're bringing in. I think he'll be a role player, probably eighth, ninth man, something like that. But a solid piece, and now 11 of the 13 spots drew on the team our film. I like this addition. He was the second leading score in the Northeast Conference. I have a friend that knows the Fairleigh Dickinson basketball program
Starting point is 00:12:53 and some people around it pretty well. And they told them when Kentucky was first an option, they kind of thought, you know, it's surprising he would go there if you're expecting him to be starting or even an impact player. But if he's going to be kind of a debt piece, that you're going to love him. And I think that's where he'll be.
Starting point is 00:13:08 I mean, he shot nearly 40% from three taking seven a game. So I think they'll find a way to use him in Pope's offense. But also, as you said, he's going to be farther down the bench than some of these commitments have already gotten. I mean, we have, Ryan, in some ways, most rag-tag group of people, like in terms of where they're from. Yeah. I mean, just think about where our roster next year is from.
Starting point is 00:13:32 All right, you've got two kids who played high school basketball in Kentucky. We've got a Mormon who's been in Sierra Leone. Right. Just a player that took two years off. Yeah, it took a couple years off because that's what you do. We got a guy from Drexel. We got a guy from Fairley Dickinson. And a British guy from Drexel.
Starting point is 00:13:50 It just makes it better. Yeah, a British guy from Drexville. We got a kid. who may be coming, who's from North Florida, right, if we end up getting him. One from Dayton. San Diego State. Dayton. Oklahoma State.
Starting point is 00:14:05 That's a more normal team. Wake Forest. Oklahoma. We hit both Oklahoma schools. Oklahoma. It really is, Ryan, a group of nomads coming together to Lexington. Yeah, and a dude from West Virginia that's originally, what, from Croatia? No, from Latvia.
Starting point is 00:14:20 You're a citizen now. Oh, that's right. I'm going on a place for citizens. citizenship. Yeah, from Latvia. It is crazy that the roster has been put together and they're from all over the place. That's why I think we're going to love them even more. Like you said, they're a rag-tag bunch.
Starting point is 00:14:33 I think we'll be attracted to that. I am. I saw a list that had what schools basically got more production. They ranked what schools got more production out of their transfers than where they were before. And essentially, UCon was number one, and they won the national championship. Arizona was number two. I think for Kentucky to be good, Drew, they're going to have to be high up on that list. I mean, you're going to basically have to hope that Pope is able to take all of these nomads
Starting point is 00:15:03 and turn them into a really good team. And I'm hopeful. I mean, if you look at the teams that have won the last couple of years, you can say the same thing about their rosters. We've made all the examples of how the SEC stars were former mid-major guys. And I just like, we don't know if it'll work, but I like that it's something different because not to keep looking backwards, but I, When I heard their freshman, we don't know how they were going to respond in March.
Starting point is 00:15:26 At that moment, I was like, I can't do the freshman thing again. So I'm excited to have guys like a Lamont Butler who's already hit a buzzer-beater in the Final Four. Yes. You mentioned the Anzle we got today, already got some big tournament wins at Fairleigh Dickinson. They're not big schools, but they're guys that have already played a lot of basketball and have experienced some big wins and big losses. I still take the view that for this team to be really good, they're one player short. Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 00:15:51 I still think that's my view that if they don't find either Lanier or Robinson, you're going to be one player short. I still think they can be good either way, Ryan. But if you want to be top 15, top 12, I think they got to get one more stud. And this isn't that guy, although I do think he's a good piece. Do you feel like if Robinson stays in the draft and they get Lanier, that's going to be acceptable or do you feel like they have to get Robinson? I think they can make that work.
Starting point is 00:16:20 I still think Robinson's better. better. But I think they can make it work. And then we've got to see what the 13th got. They clearly have somebody in mind for that 13th spot. I just don't know what it is. 859-280-2287. We are here at the PGA of America media tent watching the 106 PGA championship. We will take a break.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending. Opinions are flying. and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.
Starting point is 00:16:54 I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise. Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs,
Starting point is 00:17:10 the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants. answer. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:17:35 What's up fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective
Starting point is 00:17:58 on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by,
Starting point is 00:18:15 like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nass would get that thing. Hey, that man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball. Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Hey, everyone, it's Ryder Strong and Will Ferdell from PodMeets World. And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast. We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV, who now have covered dance with the stars, traitors, and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor. So yeah, now we're experts. I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge. That is the point of the show. I'm just going to remind you.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I have watched some Survivor. I obviously haven't watched enough. Did people not like it? Yeah. Just because we? Yeah. We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of,
Starting point is 00:19:24 of ha, ooh, ah, ha, ooh, ha, ooh. Again, we are experts. So make sure to tune at a pod meets twirled for all our Survivor 50 takes. Listen to PodMeets Twirled on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:19:41 859-280-2287. One person writes, Matt, have you all met any famous people here yet? Well, you saw John Daly. Saw him, yeah. Didn't get to speak with them. We'll have a beer with them. I met Fat Perez.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Have you ever heard of Fat Perez? No. Like a social media guy? There's a guy named Fat Perez. It's like a character. Do we call that a celebrity? You know there's a golfer Pat Perez. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:04 That feels like that stretching celebrity. That's the case. We're celebrity as then. Right? Well, let's see. What's he got a following on? Let's see if he has more followers than us. Oh, I'm sure he does.
Starting point is 00:20:14 A lot more than us. He's in the hundreds of thousands. Where? All right. So on what? Twitter? Or you go to Instagram, I guess. Instagram.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Let's see where we got. Is he? F-A-T or P-H-A-T? F-A-T. What does he do? Fat Perez? Not real sure, but, you know, he's just out creating content, and got to make content in this world to get by.
Starting point is 00:20:30 He's doing that stuff. I met him. I see Fat Joe. Fat Perez. The Fat Perez. Here we go. $409,000. Well, that's $100,000 more than us.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Smiley coughing. My celebrity sightings. Come on. Fat Perez. You think he gets, how do he get credentials with Fat Perez? I mean, really. I bet he can get into the SEC. Wait, hang on.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Do you think he writes on his thing? I'm Fat Perez? Yeah, he probably does. He had a derby table for Fat Perez. I saw the picture. I mean, Fat Perez is a unbelievable. The disrespect I'm getting. We need better marketers.
Starting point is 00:21:02 I mean, seriously, if we have 300,000 and, like, we struggle to get into events, and Fat Perez is walking around with 400,000 and is getting derby tables. I'm just going to. I had to get in line to meet Fat Perez. It's a storm. I'm going to apply. That might be a bit of a stretch. I mean, he is a popular guy.
Starting point is 00:21:19 There's a line for Fat Perez? Could be. Maybe next year I just put fat dude. You'd like Fat Perez. He's got long hair. Yeah. Well, all right, good. Good for Fat Perez.
Starting point is 00:21:29 That's best I can do on the celebrity sightings. 859-280s. I don't recognize the people in here. I saw Rick Bosich, and that was it. Nick Rouse was here earlier. I saw him. I rode over on the bus with Pat 40. Oh, I did too.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Tuesday. Oh. He must be following us. I guess there you and he. I don't really count him a celebrity. Did you say hi? No. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:47 The SEC, before we go the phones. The SEC football game. game times were released. Yeah. A couple of them. Kentucky knows they're two of their first games. Their home game against South Carolina, which is week two, and their home game against Georgia, which is week three.
Starting point is 00:22:04 South Carolina will be at 3.30. Georgia will be at 7 o'clock. Both games on ABC. So prime slots. Ryan, are you happy that A, right from the beginning, right from the start, right from the start, they're going to come out with big games and at home on ABC. I love it.
Starting point is 00:22:28 I love the 3.30 time for South Carolina. Those are my favorite game times for college football. You've got plenty of time to tailgate and you've got plenty of time to go celebrate after the win. And a night game against Georgia, I think that's, if Kentucky's going to ever... Have we... Since we've been good and they've been good, I don't think we've played them at night yet, have we? I can't remember a night game against Georgia in years. Even down there, that just doesn't happen.
Starting point is 00:22:53 So I think that'll be an electric atmosphere. That would be exciting. And then South Carolina, 3.30, that's going to be a huge game. In week two of the season, that's usually a time there are not a ton of great games nationally, which is probably why we got that slot. When the ESPN contract changed, I think we're all a little sad. The CBS tradition, nostalgia is leaving. I'm already all in on ABC.
Starting point is 00:23:16 If we're going to get. At most we would get. At most we would get. one CBS game a year. It was usually Georgia, and we lost 5,000. I mean, most of the time when we played on CBS, we got destroyed because we were usually playing a top team, and they were like, well, maybe this will be a good game. Now we get two of our first three on ABC.
Starting point is 00:23:39 First of all, it shows how many more games now will be on those national broadcast networks. And, you know, I don't think we can win the Georgia game, but we certainly can win the South Carolina. Matter of fact, I think we have to win the South Carolina game. So Shannon, I like that it's in that. Yeah, I like the prime time spotlight. Definitely doesn't hurt with recruiting. Anything that's not a noon game I'm happy with.
Starting point is 00:23:59 So there only be, like we talked about, only two home games, SEC home games are guaranteed. Well, they're not guaranteed. You can't have more than two SEC noon games. Now, some of the other games can be at noon if the school gets to pick some of that. So are you looking at? Maybe an Auburn game? You think that might be? Well, they might be none because two of ours are already set.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Yeah. And so, like, who are other two home games? Auburn's one of them? I was. I'm waiting right now. Did we go to Vandy last year? I think it's Vandy. Now, Vandy's probably a noon game.
Starting point is 00:24:37 You guys are used to playing in those. The whole schedule's noon. Nobody wants to watch it. I agree with the importance of winning that South Carolina game now. I mean, it's like a swing game for your year, but now you're on ABC with the country watching. Second week of the season. South Carolina is the most important game in the year.
Starting point is 00:24:54 It is. I mean, you're going to win week one. You're probably going to lose week 30. You've got to win that game. Yeah. The way that schedule set up when you still have road trips at Texas, at Ole Miss, you've got Georgia at home. And we've had all these years where we won like five games to start the season.
Starting point is 00:25:10 But besides Florida, usually we really hadn't played anybody. Right. Now you get those two games right at the beginning. some of the easier games get pushed to the later end of the season, but you've got to win one of those. Who's up first? Alden is up first. Alden. Go ahead, Alden. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Good morning. I just want to make two comments. Today it's my father's birthday, and we both love the show. We text about you guys all the time, and, you know, it's something we talk about frequently. Well, happy birthday to your father. Thank you. Awesome. And my second comment is that as a younger fan, only having seen that Coach Cal, I am quite optimistic with Coach Pope
Starting point is 00:26:00 and just excited to see the new team he's building and there's lots of stuff look forward to, I think, for the season. So go cats. Well, it's going to be, I mean, look, I've said this a lot. You'll hear me say it. I mean, I won't be here in the summer, but you'll hear me say it in August and September. This is just going to be completely different, Ryan. And it's going to be completely different. We just have to say that. I think we could end up with,
Starting point is 00:26:24 I think we will end up with better March results than we ended up with last year. I will put a lot of money on that we don't lose both first round games in the SEC and the NCAA. But it's going to be different. We're probably not going to have as many plays where we go, oh my, you know how Rob would do something and you'd be like, whoa. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:47 We ain't going to have as many of those. but we are going to have games where we run an inbound play, Drew, and we go, whoa. I do think there'll be some of that. And people that really know basketball, which is a lot of the state of Kentucky, those are going to be the woes. See that backdoor cut? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:27:03 You know how when you watch that Oakland game, and you watch them run this play and that play, and before they shot, you were like, now we're going to be doing that to people. But we're going to play some games where the other guy has a dude that we just can't guard. and we're going to have to outthink them. It's like we are completely flipping our identity, and we just have to get used to that.
Starting point is 00:27:28 You can still win that way, but it's just going to be a completely different way than we've won in the past. We'll take a break. Be right back here at the PGA. It's KSR. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,
Starting point is 00:27:45 and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise. Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people
Starting point is 00:28:19 who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slice Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
Starting point is 00:28:52 We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nasree. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
Starting point is 00:29:11 we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court,
Starting point is 00:29:27 and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone, it's Ryder Strong, and Will Ferdell from PodMeets World. And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast. We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV, who now have covered Dancing with the Stars,
Starting point is 00:29:50 traders, and were gearing up for the season finale of Survivor. So yeah, now we're experts. I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge. That is the point of the show. I'm just going to remind you. I have watched some Survivor.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I obviously haven't watched enough. Did people not like it? Yeah. Just because we... Yeah. We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay to the desperate plea as the finalists to a bunch of... Ha, ha, who.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Ha, ha, who. Again, we are experts. So make sure to tune in to Pod Meets Twirled for all our Survivor 50 takes. Listen to PodMeets Twirled on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I hate to tell you this, Shannon, but Fat Thieves, no, Fat Perez. Fat Perez. Yeah. Sorry, I'm getting my influencers mixed up.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Fat Perez has fans. One person writes, you all shouldn't talk trash about Fat Perez. By the way, we're not talking great. No. Nobody talked very highly of him. He is one of the more entertaining people in the world of golf. Oh, really? More entertaining than John Daly.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Smoking a cigarette drinking a beer. It's kind of the same persona a little bit. Well, maybe I would like that, Perez. So we looked over there, and there's like a host of media around a person. So I got Billy to go over and see what was causing the commotion. Billy, what did you say the person's the name was? Sally Eves. Sally Eves.
Starting point is 00:31:22 And you said she's a tech. influencer, a professor, and a tech influence. What is that? And why are they more popular than us? Do you think she could have some influence over our technology here with the Conrick? She keeps the signal for us. I'm dropping out.
Starting point is 00:31:38 So what does a tech influencer do? Okay. I'm telling you. So let's look her up. I want to see how many flower she has. Sally Eves. I'm looking up. I see a woman named Sally's tech CEO.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Was this her right here? 10,000 people, author. Yeah, that looks like her. She gets her own camera crew with 10,000 people. Mario has more followers than this. I have T-Mobile. When they walked in, it was behind you when we were talking. I thought Tiger was walking in with the amount of people in that group.
Starting point is 00:32:17 There was so many cameras. I think they have a boom mic over there for Sally Heaves. Unbelievable. Like we're just in, we need a better PR person, Ryan, because we got Sally Eves running around with a big camera crew. Now, I don't want to sound mean. But who are the people that follow a tech influencer? Like, do you get your jollies by? I bet she paid those people to follow her around.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Nobody's doing that voluntarily. No. Nobody's doing that for free. All right, let me see. Let's see if anyone we know, how about that, follow Sally Eaves. Okay. Because, you know, it comes up the people you know. Not one person I know follows them.
Starting point is 00:32:56 She, however, follows 7,000 people. Yeah. So that may mean she's one of these. You follow, follow, follow back. I'm follow for a follow. Follow for a follow. Okay. There you go.
Starting point is 00:33:07 I'm not impressed. I can tell that you're not. She's doing better than we are. We're lucky to get our equipment. Yes. Who's up next? Got David up next. David. Go ahead, David. David.
Starting point is 00:33:24 All right. No, David. Who's up next? Benge Kevin is next. Kevin, go ahead, Kevin. Hey, guys. I called yesterday and asked about the player that would get the loudest of falls at Midnight Madness. Today, my question, and first of all, I'd answer that.
Starting point is 00:33:40 I think it's going to be Kobe Brea or Brea or Amir Williams since he was the first to commit. I'll take that bad. I'll take that bet. What odds you want for Travis Perry? Well, no, I said other than the Kentucky boys. Other than the Kentucky guys. I said that yesterday, but I think it was lost. All right, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:33:56 But today my prediction or my question is going to be, is Calipari going to be booed when he comes in? We talked about that the other day. Yeah, we talked about that the other day for a little bit. They thought he would. I think it's going to turn right before, and there's going to be a big movement to not do it. But you'll hear both, but I bet the cheers will be a little louder. They all think the booing will be louder. Did you see him?
Starting point is 00:34:23 He called the Hawks. Again? Well, no, it was the first real time. Like he did the... So awkward, too. He put his hands up and did the thing. And he once again brought up that they make him sleep on top of a 10 roof. Well, maybe you should have thought about that, you know?
Starting point is 00:34:39 That's the craziest part of all this. Yeah, we need it. I appreciate the call. We need to talk about this just for a second. You know, he has a... He is selling his house on Richmond Road for $4 million. I will tell you, and those of you listen, listening, you know this is correct.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Do you all know people, Ryan, I know you're a realtor, but I have a lot of women that are either friends of mine or wives of my friends that are very into real estate, like getting on Zillow. You want to get people worked up. Ask a woman who likes real estate if they, what they think of the cow's house being $4 million. You know I'm right about this. I've seen groups of women having this discussion of, Like what's in? Because you know, it's crazy you can see inside.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Right. Yeah, I looked at the pictures. It's a nice house. It's a nice house. It doesn't look to be four million. No, I think it's very nice. Yeah. But there are people who have strong opinions about it selling for $4 million.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Have you heard that? Oh, yeah. But that's just the market, man. The other house is it still for sale? Awesome, I said the buyer, the buyer pool for $4 million is very small. There's not a lot of hold up. But is it can afford that. Four million because cow lived in it.
Starting point is 00:35:51 It appraised it over four million. It did. So I don't know how that works. When it appraises, is that no matter who lived in it or in the appraisal is the fact that Cal lived in it make part of it. That's supposed to factor in it all, just based on the cops up and down. That's just where that area is. But there are people who will look at those pictures and go, come on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:15 I'm surprised it's not stole. I'm surprised it's not sold. You know what I thought. How is it not? Like everything in Lexington sells in like 48 hours. How is that not salt? Because like I said, there's not a whole lot of people that can afford $4 million. But I thought it was crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:28 The Herald Leader even identified a couple people who had come to see the house. No, they did. Yes, they did. Just to tour it. Just to tour the house as a prospective buyer. Wait a minute. They reported on who viewed the house? Yes, they did.
Starting point is 00:36:41 There were two different ones. They said the house has already been viewed by such and such and such and such and such. I don't want to say it. No. But if it was in the Herald, what do you care? Well, that's true. Yeah, it's already been public. So who was it?
Starting point is 00:36:52 Or is it somebody we know? No, I didn't. I don't know him. The guy that owns the Lexington Sporting Club soccer team. Okay. He was one of them. And who's the other? I can't remember who the other one was. I honestly don't remember. Maybe Pat Perez. Maybe Pat Perez. I'm curious, could anybody ask for a tour of that house? Okay, so that would be a good question. If you're a realtor, how do you keep just like Billy from walking around and trying to snoop into his house?
Starting point is 00:37:15 For this level of houses, you have to prove you're pre-qualified, dude. Oh, you have to prove you have to pass. Thanks statements. Interesting. Yeah, you have to get a pre-qualification letter from a place like Stockton Mortgage. And then you take that, you show that to the other realtor and they'll let you book an appointment. Okay, got you. And a lot of times the listing appointment, a listing agent also has to be there for the tour.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Like you know, you have your agent, but also the listing agent also is required to be there a lot of time. So do you, so, all right, so take that. $4 million house. And Richmond Road is not secluded, but it is, like he's got like a little thing around it. You can't just get up to it. Right. To living with Brad in an apartment above the tin roof. He must feel like he's back in college.
Starting point is 00:38:03 I mean, like, it's Brad. By the way, it's Brad's apartment. That's where he lives. That is where he lives. Cal is like sleeping on Brad's couch. With earplugs. With ear plugs because it's so loud. Like, I can't believe.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Why is he not in a hotel? hell the dude makes enough money he can afford a luxury sweet hotel with your son i'm sure that's a weekend but for a weekend but the tin roof no he did an interview last week he's like what do with the tin roof it's so loud he said that in the interview did he really yeah he was like he should have asked us kentucky players i'm going to go down there and get our band booked just to be loud as we possibly turn it up as loud as you can i mean i wonder how many four million dollar homes there are in fadville i mean that that may have something to do with this so there's a lot of nice houses north of Fayetteville in, I think it's called Bentonville. That's where all the
Starting point is 00:38:58 Walmart executives live. I just don't know how far that is from Fayetteville. So it might be a commute he doesn't want to do. But Bentonville is one of the richest, like Benville is a very rich. It's kind of like Oldham County is here, but maybe even like on steroids in terms of because it's where all the rich Walmart people live. But he may not want to make that drive every day. I'm just wondering, though, if maybe he is waiting for his house to sell in Kentucky before he moves into another house in Arkansas. So maybe the longer it takes. How many homes in Lexington do you think are worth more than $4 million? Are we talking $1,000, $100?
Starting point is 00:39:38 I have no idea. I would say less than $100. So less than $100? Maybe less than $50 at over $4 million. You talk about in Lexington. But, okay, and I don't say this, again, I don't know. that market but it doesn't feel like to me I feel like I've seen homes like the fact his is four million dollars is odd to me like I saw a house the other day
Starting point is 00:40:02 it was two million dollars that looked amazing yeah and was huge you don't think him living there has anything to do with it being four million dollars it's exaggerated too because he bought like the lot beside it he owns an extra lot right there that he built the pool on basketball court yeah it fits it in real big and that includes that yeah it includes that yeah it includes the whole property, both lots, the pool. He's got two lots there. So you think there's less than 50 houses appraised it more than $4 million in less? I would say so, yeah, not many. I mean, Tim Couches was like up in that range,
Starting point is 00:40:35 and it's set on the market for a long time. And it was, it was outside of the city. It was out there, you know, out the long road. I just can't. I just can't imagine moving in with Brad. Oh, God. On top of a 10 roof. On top of a 10 roof. You could, let me take something. You couldn't make me live on top of a 10 roof now with the money I have. Much less what he has. And I don't even have a son. So if you said to me, you can stay by yourself.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Because presumably it's nice, the condo. But you have to live above a 10 roof. I'd be like, no. Yeah, there's got to be somewhere else. I mean, no. Where do I son? Why would Brad let him do it to start with? He'd like, hey, son, I'm just going to live with you until I find my place.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Bradcher said, no, dad. You're not living with me. I got my own bachelor pad above a bar. I'm good. Who cooks in the condo? Now, that's a reality show I would pay for. Yes, absolutely. I would pay for.
Starting point is 00:41:26 Brad and Dad. Brad and Dad. Brad and Dad above the 10 roof. That is a show that you could get me to watch. The NBA playoffs and the PGA Championship are heating up. You can go to Draft Kings. I have a couple of wagers on the PGA. I have Zander to win, which is a good start.

Starting point is 00:42:35 No. John Sina does not follow. He follows me and he follows Sally. John Sina follows everybody. John Sina and UK Dad 21. Yeah. It's Michael used to work with us that I heard. He listens to this show. Hey, Michael.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Hey, Michael. Hey, John Cena. We'll take a break very bad because this is KSall. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Starting point is 00:45:53 Rory's hitting out of a bunker right now. That's the many things that are different between pros and everybody else is how easy is it for them out of bunkers. Yeah. You get me in a bunker. You're there all day. Well, everybody's like, oh, it's the easiest shot because you don't have to hit the ball. You just hit the sand. I find that harder.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Yeah. I can hit the ball. Right. Now you want me to hit the sand. Do I hit way behind it? Do I hit right behind it? And then they say open the club. Usually I hit right behind it and it pops right out.
Starting point is 00:46:22 You do that? That's what you do. Or just pick it up and throw it when somebody's looking. Now what about the Rory storyline? About him getting a divorce? And the last time he won and he broke up his girl that week. Yeah, so last time he won a tournament or a major was before here. Like when he comes to Louisville, he just decides to get a divorce.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Well, the Kentucky women are beautiful. That's it. Getting lucky in Kentucky. But when he won it here. Did Shepler have that baby? yet? He did. Baby Bennett, maybe. I don't know if that's the name. Look at you. No one. The name. That could be way off. It could be called. It could be called, Joe. I don't know. I'm going to Bennett, but he had it. So he is unfortunately in the field. Shout out to Justin, who was just here. You all listening would recognize his voice. Yes. And he's
Starting point is 00:47:05 volunteering here and came by. He's a caller who has a voice that when you hear it, you know it's him. He just came by. And that was good to see. We were talking to him and then he said who he was. He goes, yeah, I call in all the time. We're all like, yes, that's how we recognize you. So Bentville to Fayetteville is 45-minute drive. He wouldn't want to do that every day, would he? It would be better than living on top of a 10-Ruth. So I think I would. Right now there are three houses on the market in Lexington more than Cal's House. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:34 So I'm going to say more than 50 homes, but maybe not 100? Yeah, there are not many. Like I said, there are outside the city limits, like I said, outside we're on the long road. But we're talking just in Lexington. Are you ready to have a quick conversation about something we know nothing about? Let's go. Of course. We're doing that all day.
Starting point is 00:47:51 So Lexington City Council just passed 13 to 1. So it was a big passing. Yeah. Banning the sale of puppies in Lexington. You cannot buy a puppy unless it's from a licensed breeder or you can go adopt one from the Humane Society. But you can't go to like Petland and buy a puppy. and buy a puppy. As a matter of fact,
Starting point is 00:48:18 there are two stores in Lexington that sell pets. They no longer will be able to do it. Wow. Lexington is one of now 400 cities that have done this across the country. I didn't know that. Because they say it's a way to crack down on breeders who sell to these places
Starting point is 00:48:36 and do not make it like humane, is what they're saying. Now, these stores are going, why don't you just make the laws about, the breeders and let us sell. But this is a bigger question I have, because I'm not informed enough to know whether that's a good law or a bad one. But here's what I did. If you can't buy dogs in Lexington,
Starting point is 00:49:00 besides the Humane Society, how would you get them? Well, I guess you're saying licensed breeders can still sell them themselves. But that's it. So I can't sell you a dog. Yeah. Right now. Can't do it. If I wanted to sell you a dog, I can't do it.
Starting point is 00:49:17 I could give you a dog, apparently, but I can't sell it to you. In Lexington. So, yeah, those... Can't sell it at flea markets, yard sales. I didn't know there were people. Got it in a two-for-one on dogs over here. We did her in the gold retriever years. So, like, if you're in Lexington, let's say, I'm sure people go,
Starting point is 00:49:38 well, you go to Winchester and do it. But let's say the whole state did that. Do you think a system where you can only buy dogs from license? breeders and adopt is a good system. It may help the shelters get rid of some pets, and, you know, that may be a way to kind of reduce that population a little bit, because you can't go to these pet stores and just go to the Humane Society and get one that's there. You know, you can give away a dog, but you can't sell a dog, starting like next week.
Starting point is 00:50:09 You better be moving their dogs quickly. Yeah. I mean, I don't know what I'm talking about, but I have some. seen some kennels where you wonder like i don't know that doesn't look say some of the more dangerous dogs i don't know if they're trying to regulate that a little bit more land is not safe i don't even know what pet land is it's where you can go buy dogs i i love seeing the dogs at those stores you go i'll buy my dog food or a little chewy toys and you always go see the puppies and the cats they won't be there won't be there you've had several dogs where do you where do you buy your
Starting point is 00:50:38 humane society so you go a dog yes uh-huh yeah i'm for whatever is most humane for the I mean, I don't know what the answer would be there, but whatever makes it. Well, I don't either. I didn't know, by the way, that this was a movement. I didn't either. I mean, it says 400 plus cities now. You can't buy dogs. So they're trying to cut down on those puppy meals.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Like, you said, mills that just generate puppies and sell them. What do you generate? They just breed, breed, breed, breed, breed, breed to sell them to these stores. There's like Facebook groups called the Millsboro. So what about the Petland argument? Go after the mills and not us. although you might say to the Petland person if you all wouldn't buy from the mills we wouldn't have done it
Starting point is 00:51:18 yeah yeah that's true I think you gotta crack down on the breeders but apparently a lot of these breeders are out in rural areas that's probably tough to do so Lexington has no ability to do anything with these rural breeders so they're like then we're just going to do it for the stores and take away their market you know I don't know that you can stop it
Starting point is 00:51:40 I mean well we're going to try a lot of people will travel yeah Miles and miles like yoga girl bought her dog out of Tennessee Out of Mississippi they met in Tennessee You got a bootleg dog Crossing border in a dark alley Are you like admitting to a federal crime I was not part of this
Starting point is 00:51:59 Oh so you're just gonna make her go to Jay You're part of the transaction I was not part of the president I was just a driver I had no idea what was going on Well it was it was probably a legal breeder It was a legal breeder definitely legal You know that's what I'm saying right now You got the puppy paperwork to prove it, right? The puppy paper.
Starting point is 00:52:16 I know nothing. I see nothing. I like how you're not saying it was legal. You're just saying you didn't have anything. I didn't have anything to do with it. Except he drove. Oh, it was driving there to give a couple of us. 859-28027.
