Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Clivert Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of
stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
A rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

So what's also crazy to me about all this, Shannon,
or all the various things, parts of it that are because it's Kentucky,
Romines being the lawyer.
I love it.
I mean, come on.
He gets out there with his, well, you know, I'm just, look.
Let me tell you this.
If I, if you ever get a criminal charge, I mean, he's who I would call,
like a serious one.
You know what I mean?
Yeah. Well, when I saw him pop up, at first I did a little giggle because we know him, but I thought, well, if you are in Louisville and getting a local one, I think Scotty got the right guy.
Wonder who told him? Because he can't know Robine.
And that was quick. I mean, first of all, Robbins was at the courthouse before 9 o'clock.
My thought, and I don't know it all, was Valhalla quickly picked up the phone and said, we need to.
The guy who owns Valhalla bailed Scotty out of jail.
That's my point. They're trying so hard to make this word.
that he's over at the jail getting Scottie out.
Did you know that, Shannon?
The owner of Valhalla is the one that bail him out.
No, I had no idea how that happened.
He got him out of.
He had a tea time.
Yeah.
You were big on the tea time in second one.
You must have been talking to him.
Bahá'Hala was all about it.
They needed him.
They were like, we are getting you to the tea time.
I want to know what Meredith Schaeffler thought when she woke up in Dallas to see her husband in a mugshot.
Probably not knowing.
So he had the baby, right?
Yes.
Yeah.
What a week for that guy.
I'm pretty sure it was earlier this week.
By the way, do you think the president, the guy who owns a ballob hallow bails out,
Austin Eckroat?
No.
He rots in jail.
Tell him to keep him in there for messing with this tournament.
Austin Eckrode is sent to solitaire.
I wonder if there's like a level of world ranking.
All right, so let's do that.
I like that.
Let's look at the leaderboard.
Who?
Who did they bail out of jail?
Scotty is he yes.
All right.
Let's go down.
Rory.
Yes.
Tiger.
Yes.
Absolutely.
Brooks Kepka.
Yep.
Defending champion, yes.
Okay.
John Rom.
Yep.
Yeah.
Recent world number one.
Okay.
All right.
What about our leader?
Zander Schoffley.
Oh, yeah.
Because of the circumstance.
Because he's the leader.
I'm with you.
Not the leader?
Still in jail.
It's like third in the world.
Get out of jail free card if you're the leader.
I think if he didn't lead.
I don't think he didn't lead.
I don't think he's.
He's well known enough.
He's still in jail.
Oh, they're getting Zander out.
All right.
Colin Moracalla.
Getting calling out.
He's one of the faces of the PG.
He's also, he won this once.
All right.
Dustin Johnson.
Yeah.
We're kind of getting to that point now where the cutoff is.
What is the cutoff?
Who is the person that is the most famous that they leave in jail?
John Daly.
Well, okay, but I mean, it's good.
The way he played yesterday belongs in jail.
Obviously, let's see.
Richard Reed.
Oh, good, great one.
Patrick Reed's in jail.
And he's in jail because no one wants to go get him.
Yeah.
I like Patrick Reed as the line.
Patrick Reed's going to jail.
What about Sahith, The Gala?
One of the top 10 players in the world probably.
Very likable guy.
They're getting him out.
Does anybody know who?
But the president's not going.
He's sending like one of his assistants.
VP's going to get some.
No way he's getting out.
And I'm hoping full swing has been filming today.
Oh, that would be awesome.
I wonder if they're too busy with the tech lady filming her.
This would be like when our wrestler got arrested in Harlan at the Polk Salafest.
A little different situation.
They were both in their car before a bit.
Not quite the national headline.
To be fair, the world didn't focus on that situation quite as much.
I wish more golf nerds were listening.
I would love the game of just going down the whole world golf rankings of would they bailed them out.
Would they bail them out?
All right, though, let's go to other sports.
Do they bail out, they definitely bail out the U.K. and the U.S.L coach.
Yeah.
What about the Western coach?
What is he going into?
Is there a basketball game that night?
Louisville PD tip-offs in three hours.
No, no.
First of all, who is the Western coach?
That's your team, Billy.
Yeah, Ray something, I think.
You don't even know his name?
It starts with a P.
I think he was an assistant.
Rape.
Rape.
Pañola, something like that.
He was an assistant.
You don't even know the coach of your team?
I've tried to have him on the show.
They haven't been responding for some reason.
Maybe because you don't know his name.
I would like to argue if anybody knows his name.
I will tell you, having looked it up, if you called him Ray, he would not answer.
Because that is not his name.
His name is not Ray?
No.
I'm still mentally with Steve Lutz.
No wonder you didn't get him on the name.
show if you guys you start calling the man ray p are hang on what's his
called him directly it said hey ray he would have said you have the wrong number
and hang so what's his actual day Hank it was one syllable
one syllable it's yeah it was right there could be drew Matt
the confusion I had so you Hank what it was pee right yeah yeah okay
thank you points he's right he wasn't assistant assistant under Lutz he's gonna
keep the train rolling sir can I have Ray on the show this is Hank you won't
meet no looking for me no looking for no
Looking for Ray.
I don't think Hank's getting bailed out either.
Ray P., by the way, from now on, I'm calling Hank Ray P while he's at Western the entire time.
He's not getting bailed out by you if you're at the jail trying to get Ray out.
You go to the officer.
Can I get out Ray P?
We don't have that.
You're going to end up with a different person.
Who's up now?
Amanda.
They bring somebody else out.
I'm Ray.
Go ahead, Amanda.
He's afloat while I've been doing long runs training for a half marathon.
And I want to bring kind of a different perspective, more of like.
like a psychosocial perspective.
When we opened up the show or when you open up the show,
you said like, oh my God, he's such a nice guy.
And you guys just mentioned it.
I didn't say that.
That was Drew.
I don't know it.
Okay, Drew.
I'm sorry, Drew, yes.
Yes, me.
And I just think it's so interesting that, you know, we watch these shows and we read about
these players and we think that we know them.
And I'm not saying that's guilty or a terrible person.
But I just think that as a collective, we're like, oh, yeah, we know what this person
is capable of.
And the other part that I want to add is, I think it's also interesting where these
people are getting off, getting help based on their athletic performance and how often,
like you talked about Tiger earlier, where it's like 2019 was so great because he did so well
despite what was going on in his personal life and that kind of back and forth of how we knew
people in their performance and who they are. So just wanted to offer.
I think that's a really great point. As I said to Billy, the fact that he had a tea time,
I appreciate the call, should really have nothing to do with it. I, my legitimate,
If I could ask the police one question, I'd be like, do you usually let people who are accused of assaulting an officer out in less than an hour?
That is strange.
I mean, in less than an hour.
He did get arrested at the right time because he was probably able to be, like if he got arrested at two in the morning, it would have taken longer.
So it was probably the right time.
Yeah.
And on the being nice thing, I'm not excusing anything that happened here.
I'm saying when you wake up to a mugshot and it's Scotty Schaeffler, that's what's shocking to me.
Leave this.
If you had asked me on Monday, in any sport, any person, name the most shocking mugshot, I might say Scotty Schaeffler, is my point in just how I woke up and saw that is what made it.
So where I'm not saying he should be, I don't know what happened exactly.
I'm not excusing him.
Just saying the shock of seeing him in an orange jumps.
Here he has another birdie here.
This is, this would put him on two under on the round.
This is about.
Birdie and four holes.
18, 20 feet here.
Let's see.
Missed a short one earlier.
Is he going to knock this one in and get the rust off of his orange jumpsuit?
No.
It's trouble.
See, this is all in his head.
Losing money.
And he's got a long one coming back for par.
Who's next?
Let's go to Sean.
Sean, go ahead, Sean.
Hey, guys, love the show.
26 years in law enforcement here in Kentucky.
First of all, Matt, the police don't have any control of whether the guys released or not.
that's all the judges, that's all the courts.
So, okay, you're right about that.
Please just keep them forever, you know.
That's probably true.
And it was probably the case because of the time he was arrested
that the judge was probably doing it at that moment, right,
in the morning.
So that probably helped too.
But go ahead.
There are reports that Greenberg's gotten involved.
I don't think Andy's gotten involved,
but I think Greenberg may have been, holy crap, that's our city.
And the mayor, there's a world in which I understand that with the mayor.
The governor should not, but go ahead.
Right.
And here's the last thing, and y'all can debate this.
Don't think there's a conspiracy if that officer didn't have his body camera on.
And the reason I say that is when you're on a fixed post and all you're doing is directing traffic
and you're not expected to truly have interaction with the public,
you're not just going to let your body cam run for eight or ten hours while you're directing traffic.
So there may have been a situation where, you know, policy across the state from most departments
is when you go to a scene, you turn your body cam on,
when everything calms down and all you're doing is sitting in the car writing a report
or you're out direct your traffic, you turn the body cam off to save storage space.
I got you.
Let me ask you a question, because I don't know the answer of this.
If there is a major incident and a police, you're involved in a major incident,
not even that you did anything wrong, but you're just involved in a major incident.
And the officer doesn't have his body cam on.
Are they punished for that?
If it's a violation of policy, if he's following policy as in once you move to the fixed post policy allows you to turn it off as long as that's the case and you follow policy, you're not in trouble.
If you don't turn your policy, your camera on because you didn't follow policy, yes, you'll be disciplined by that.
All right. Well, thank you, sir.
It's not scared to do that.
So you guys have a great day.
Thank you.
That's helpful to know.
Nice to have actual information.
Sounds like someone knows what they're talking about
Well, sometimes we don't.
And like, you know.
Not like Ray.
Ray Pete.
Ray Peeper's next.
Let's go to Andrew.
Andrew.
Go ahead, Andrew.
Hey, Matt.
First time call her, long time listening.
Ooh-ah.
What's up?
I'm calling from Austin, Texas.
And I was wondering since Will Levis is going to be in Houston
and the cats are going to be playing UT in Austin.
I was wondering if all we're going to come down here for a show.
Yeah, I think we're playing it on it.
We're playing it.
I mean, it's a while away, but that's my plan at least.
I appreciate the call for people who didn't realize that, what he's talking about.
UK plays at Texas the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and the NFL schedule came out,
and Will Levis plays at Houston on Sunday.
Oh, a little double-dip.
So I'm sure Drew will want to do that.
I'm double-dipping, but I'm going a different direction.
I'm going Cowboys commanders.
I've always wanted to see the Texas Stadium.
Oh.
So your team is going to be two and a half hours from us, and you're not going to go?
No, I've never been to a Cowboys game.
I'm right there.
I've seen the Titans play the Texans.
Well, Austin is about halfway between Houston and Dallas.
I've got Airbnb.
This has already been thought out.
A lot of my friends are going to Houston, but I think I'm going to go to Dallas.
I have a friend in Dallas I've been needing to see, so I'm going to go that way.
But the double-hitter will be awesome, whichever direction you go.
Yeah.
The one thing about going to Houston, though, is you are going in the wrong direction, right?
So who's next?
Kentucky Joe.
Kentucky Joe.
How are you?
I'm doing for a pretty.
I'm really interested. I need to know Kentucky Joe's thought on all this.
Give me your read on the situation.
Well, yeah, I thought about a song about all this, but it's a sad day from state of Kentucky.
I'm going to save straight up.
I think Scott Schupper wins this tournament, PGA.
He ends up winning the Grand Slam.
And then it'd be a nice gesture by the mayor to have.
have a Scotty Shepler
day here in Louisville. Okay, well, let's slow down.
Let's slow down with
the Scotty, okay. We don't even
know for sure what happened. I don't
know that we should be creating
days yet for him. I mean, we don't
know all the facts, right,
Joe?
I saw his
statement on, I'm sitting on TV.
Okay, but I mean, I get that,
but like, that doesn't mean
it's true just because he said it.
Hey, Matt,
Hey, Matt, you've got a great entertainer on the golf course.
His name's John Daly.
Okay, that doesn't really follow the rest of our conversation.
He did just leave.
Yeah, he also, he withdrew, by the way.
He saw the scene was hot with police.
Oh, my God.
He decided it was time to go.
I appreciate it to go.
You know, Drew and I were talking about this.
It kind of overshadows what was a great day.
yesterday. It does. It was a great day.
Zander broke the score, the course record.
Yeah, it was a great day. Justin Thomas
It is going to make Scotty Sheffler a bigger
known name around the world, you know.
Stop overpainting for sunglasses,
Billy. If you're tired of buying expensive
sunglasses only to lose or break them, how about Shady
Rays? I was driving home from
Lexington. I didn't realize
how nice that building is off the interstate for
Shady Rays. Yesterday, I complimented
the governor's sunglasses because he told us all about it.
My mom?
Me, Drew, the governor, John Daly, Scottie Shephler, those last two, I'm not sure.
But you go to shadyrays.com, promo code KSR, two or more pairs in the store, 50% off the second, two or more pairs.
It's great.
Go to the summit at Fritz Farm, shadyrays.com.
It is ShadyRays, the best eye protection on a Kentucky company with Shady Raise.
We'll take a break, be right back.
KSR.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash will get that thing
That man, hell get the flying
He ran up the court, licking his fingers
Why he got the ball, like
You go through a training camp with that IZEA
You figure it out real quick
Get your ass up and down the court
And you're gonna get the ball

And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast
We're two men who were completely clueless
to reality TV, who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors, and we're gearing up
for the season finale of Survivor. So yeah, now we're experts. I know we annoyed a lot of our
listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge. That is the point of the show. I'm just going to
remind you. I have watched some Survivor. I obviously haven't watched enough. Did people not
like it? Like what was just because we? Yeah. We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season
from the final attempts at gameplay to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of
ha, ooh, ha, ooh, ha, ooh, again, we are experts.
So make sure to tune into Pod Meets Twirled for all our Survivor 50 takes.
Listen to PodMeets Twirled on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Great job by Shannon on the stuff, the songs today.
Which the podcast listeners will never get to hear.
It is unbelievable. The city of Louisville, I just had somebody write me who works down.
Like, City of Louis is getting nothing done today.
No, all the attentions are there.
I mean, this is going to be the lead of everything.
You know, I mean, I'm honest with you.
In these situations, it's tough because, you know, Craig is my friend,
and I just feel like I saw him yesterday,
and he was, like, so happy.
Can you imagine him getting that phone call this morning
and being like, well, today's not going to go exactly the same?
I mean, this is a huge event.
It was international.
and the story is no longer about the event.
It was already tragic with the passing away.
Tragic.
And now it's just an international.
And now it will become a circus.
Yeah.
It will.
I mean,
think about his media thing when this round is over.
Oh, I'll be there.
But you're going to ask?
No, I'm not asking any questions.
You're going to ask a question.
But I did see,
you just tweeted out a photo of people.
They already have Shannon free Scotty shirts,
someone at the course.
That was quick.
How did they get that done already?
I guess it doesn't take long to print one up on a shirt.
But how do he get it at the course?
And it looks like he's got a bunch and he's selling them.
If that's not America right there, where people are like,
all right, how can I make money off this immediately?
They were sitting there refreshing, waiting for that mugshot to drop this morning to start printing.
The mugshot, I'm with you, Shannon.
I thought it was fake.
I was like, there's no way.
They don't have them in an orange jumpsuit.
Sure enough, they did.
I saw Jeff Darlington's first tweet popped up breaking.
It had like five likes.
I watched it pop up.
And even I, I went to his profile three or four different times, made sure he had all those followers.
I'm like, this cannot be real.
Jeff Darlington's not even a golf reporter.
That's another reason why I was confused.
And neither is Dave Fleming.
Like, why are they even here?
Did you imagine if it was more than us that just happened to be there at that time?
Okay, think about that.
Yeah.
What if it had been one of us on that bus?
Yeah.
Are we getting out and filming?
Yeah.
my man i'm not my manning i'm not i'm not i'm not my mann i'm not i'm not my mann i mean on that one
like you know you know who that is yeah first of all shanan wouldn't have known who it was
no sure yeah look at this man look at this average joe being carried out here
yeah get him who's next uh let's go to dwayne dwayne go ahead dwayne
Okay, Matt, so say yesterday when you all showed up at the course,
they said we've got a spot for four players.
You all are in.
And the rule is you all don't have to drive.
All you got to do is putt.
We're going to start you.
The furthest point from every hole on the green, do you break par or do you repeat?
For sure.
If all I have to do is putt?
I mean, you're talking 100-foot putts probably most every hole, right?
Yeah, but I mean, like they're par fives.
You don't, I mean, I can get it in.
five, you know, if I three putt every green, three putt every green, I shoot 54.
Hello?
I thought that's interesting.
Yeah, I mean, like, now, if you ask that question of Ryan Lemon, appreciate the call.
No, he wouldn't win.
Don't you agree?
He wouldn't finish.
We saw him from five feet.
Yeah, if you put it, but like, if it's me, Billy or Drew.
I could do it, putting.
You think you could do it?
But you don't really play.
I mean, I play putt putt, though.
So, I mean, that's about the only thing that could do it.
That'd be an interesting question.
If we, for you, Ryan is a definite no.
I think I could do it.
Me, Billy and Drew could do it, even as bad.
But I don't, that'd be interested to see you.
I think that would be close.
I feel like I could do it.
I don't think I'll let us on here just for you to walk on every green and put.
But let me ask you this.
Let's say we played from the back.
The tips.
So it's 7,400 yards.
With the PGA setup, what do you think you'd shoot?
110, 110.
105, 110.
That's about what I was going to think.
I think I'd be.
That'd be tough to break 100 on it.
I don't think I would break 100.
Just because even a really good drive sometimes would even get to.
Well, I mean, let's say I pound it for me and hit it 300.
There are still par fours where I'm over 200 out, you know?
It's not just that.
There are 33 green side bunkers.
If I get some of those tricky ones, or even the regular ones.
The rough.
The rough.
The rough is for us is like punch out, you know.
So, yeah, no, I mean, it would be tough.
Who's next?
Matt.
Matt.
Matt.
Matt.
Yes.
I mean, John Rom, by the way, said if you're a scratch golfer,
scratch golfer.
And you came here.
He didn't think you could break 80.
That's probably about right.
Yeah.
But go ahead.
Go ahead, sir.
I've said, go ahead.
Hello.
Okay, I'm hanging up on them.
Let's move on.
Let's turn to Zach.
Zach, go ahead, Zach.
Hey, man, first time, long time.
Good to hear you.
Who are?
I just wanted to say how excited I am to see Trent and Travis suit up for the cats.
It's always just awesome to see as a local born and raised Kentucky boy to see those Kentucky boys put that Kentucky on the chest.
But I wanted to say I've got a new nickname for them.
They'll call them T&T, just like Robin Reed, but Trent and Travis, T&T.
All right, there you go.
I appreciate the call.
I didn't think we would get that call today with all that's going on,
but it will be exciting to see two Kentucky guys play.
It's crazy that our regions, not really known for their-
Andrews region, not really known for their sports prowess.
We'll have two Kentucky Wildcats.
Who ends up having a better UK career?
I actually have higher expectations of both of them than I think a lot of people do.
I think Travis Perry is going to do well, running around off the ball,
driving people crazy, and Pope's going to find him with a wide-open look that he's going to make.
and I think people aren't given Trent no enough credit for his size and kind of being a three-level score.
I think they're both going to be better off.
I don't know about putting one in front of the other.
I think it's going to be pretty close, but I think both are going to be better when people are going to credit for.
I agree with you.
I think it could go either way.
I think if Cal had been the coach, it would have had to be Travis Paird.
Because I don't think Trent would have played for Cal, but I do think he'll play for Pope.
Not because he couldn't have.
It's just the style of play.
Travis could take people a little bit better off the dribble, maybe.
They're both very high percentage shooters
Yes they are
And with Pope's offense
He gets his high percentage shooters
Wide Open looks
It's a perfect coach for him
I mean the perfect coach
I don't think either of them
Are they going to play their way
Into a top five pick though
Like what Reed Shepard did
No that was
No
No
That still is amazing
I mean
When it goes in the top five
That's crazy
But
He was
He mean he's the most athletic
He's jumped higher than anybody at the combine
Right
So, like, they don't have that athleticism, which is a big part of why Reed is projected so high.
I think about it was in Mississippi State where he closed out and blocked that three,
and there's an image where it just looks like he's levitating.
I mean, that's stuff, that's some special stuff that the other guys, I don't think they have that.
One person writes, Matt, I heard Drew say this was a national event.
It's an international event.
I have direct reports in India that they know about the story there because they're following Sahithi Gala,
who's an American Indian.
I thought I said international because everyone on my bus today was speaking a language.
that wasn't English, or everyone around me at least.
Yeah, there you go.
Well, we will take a break.
859-280-2287.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
Every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the plays, the controversies,
and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves.
Their locker room stories,
their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.

What's up, fam, it's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast, Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running the court licking his fingers why he got the ball.
After you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game.
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
There are times when the mind becomes a difficult place to live.
This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast, and for Mental Health Awareness Month,
we're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles.
I'm joined by doctors, researchers, and those with lived experience.
We'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety.
I started living in my car, and then my car got stolen.
I was shoplifting, I was having panic attacks, I was agoraphobic.
And making it through hardship.
To be present is a learned skill, and it's hard to be present.
We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression and the brain implant that saved his life.
What I learned is that procedure made me happy because I'm disease-free.
And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety,
and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder.
and the science of how the brain can change.
This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations
about what happens when the brain goes off course
and what we can do about it.

Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports.
Radio.
Cornbreadthemp.com.
I wonder if you think Scotty, like, right before he got back was like, I need to settle my nerves before I do these puts?
You can't imagine what's going through his mind today.
That's right.
Well, maybe cornbread hemp.com.
It's Kentucky's full spectrum, flower-only hemp CBD.
The limestone rot bed underneath Kentucky helps make the best hemp right here.
It does.
promo code KSR 30% off.
Check it out.
Help you rest and relax with cornbread.
I've gotten all snotty here in the last 20 minutes.
I know that's what you want to know.
Maybe it's snotty for Scotty.
Snottie Shepler.
That's right.
Who is this guy in second?
Mark Hubbard.
Who is that?
Never heard of him.
He's just a golfer.
Doing well today.
He would not have made his tea time, Shannon.
I can guarantee you that.
They would not have let him come.
He would not have gotten.
He'd still be out there waiting asking if he could turn left to get in here to.
Solitary.
he is not going to get to do it.
Are you going to watch the golf today?
Yeah, I'm going to try to walk around.
There's a Draft King's tent.
You want to go over there with me at some point?
Sure, yeah, absolutely.
I just wish people would put their cell phones down.
Does that bother you?
It does, yeah.
People don't live in the moment.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
They don't live in the moment.
They can't just see it.
They want to record it for other people to see it.
And then I can't see because you're holding up your phone up there.
You think they should ban it?
You couldn't do it before.
You could take it.
couldn't take pictures, they would like tell you.
I would do that.
Like, I don't think it's realistic to take your phone like the Masters does.
But, I mean, for a different course for the PGA every year, I think that should be the
rule is what Drew said.
That way I was at the Masters with no phone for 12 hours when the Cal News dropped.
That was just the weirdest day.
I mean, in what world are you without a phone for 12 hours ever anymore?
And it was in my glove box.
Larry.
It's just, that's true.
It's just so weird to be on a golf course and not have any access to the outside world.
It was so neat.
It was so interesting being around Larry in Dallas.
because you talk about a man that is not care about the outside world of it.
Yeah.
At one point, it was a great.
We were sitting at lunch, and there were six of us.
And at one point five of us were on our phone.
And Larry was just sitting there.
And so he pulled out his flip phone and just made a big deal to act like he wanted to fit in.
Even though he can't even get on the Internet on his flip phone,
He just pulled out his flip phone and acted like he was going to do.
Not much you can do on the flip phone nowadays.
Played a little worm game, the snake game.
That's all you can do.
That's right.
We had our trivia finals last night, by the way.
Had Ryan do.
28 teams, they came in 25th.
Ooh, tough night.
Yeah, tough night.
Our winner was new.
Has it won in the years past, so the werewolves of Lewis County took home.
The name.
What?
That's a good name.
It is.
Werewolves of Lewis County was our winner, and I think Cocaine Panda came in second.
It was the name of the team that came in second.
So it was good.
A lot of good questions.
I'll give you my UK one, because everybody always likes to hear the UK one.
All right.
Give me the eight Kentucky players that had the most steals in a season in the Cali Perry era.
Ashton Higgins.
Ashton Hagen's is one.
Reed Shepherd is number one.
That's a good one.
Tyler Ullis, not on the list.
Really?
He was ninth.
About Fox.
Fox, yes.
Good job.
Very few people got Fox.
Nice job, Billy.
Well done.
All right, who else?
You've gotten three.
That's all Ryan got, by the way.
Three was three.
Tie-Tai?
No.
Cason Wallace.
Case and Wallace, well done.
Lockdown defense.
Almost no one got Cason Wallace.
He's been great.
Well done.
By you was not a bit on there.
John Wall.
John Wall is second.
You all have done very well.
You've done better than most teams already.
Brandon Knight.
Brandon Knight's not on there.
You have three more you haven't named.
Anybody have one other guess before I give it to you?
No, go ahead.
Isaiah Briscoe.
Close, actually.
Eric Bledsoe.
Shea Gilges Alexander.
Dang it.
And Oscar Sheeblay.
Oscar.
Wow.
I wouldn't have thought that.
Now here's a stat that'll be the crazy.
to you about steals. Reed Shepard
averaged the most steals
per game in the
Calgary era. Would you like
to know who was second and he's not on that list?
Yeah, who is it? Nirlens.
If Nirlens didn't get hurt,
he would have had the third most
steals, if he had the same progression,
the third most steals in a season
in Kentucky history.
Wow. Did you know that Nirlins
had that sort of a bill? No, and I'm also
surprised Oscars on that list, too.
on it twice. Oscar
had over 50 steals
both years. I can
remember that now. It didn't come to my mind,
but after you said it, I can see plays.
How about if steals per game
in the Cal era, Reed is
first, Nerlin's
is second. I would have guessed
all day. I don't think I would have got that either.
Who's next, Shannon? Let's go to
Ryan. Ryan. Go ahead, Ryan.
The other day, you were talking about
like where celebrities
and like golfers would stay,
in certain events.
In 2014, I had a really good friend who worked for Valhalla's Greens Creek,
and when Tiger came to town, they had to go.
He stayed at Mark Redmond's house.
So they had to go to Mark Redmond's house and redo his whole landscaping
just because Tiger was coming to town.
Yeah, okay, so I've heard what you're saying,
and I've heard it's kind of true, but a little bit exaggerated.
So he did
He in this time is that
Is it Mark or Chris?
Is Mark's Redmond Chris's dad, sir?
I'm not sure.
I knew what the Redmond is.
It's Chris Redmond.
I think it's Chris Redmond's house is where he is now.
They did ask if he could bring in his own bed
and some of his own furniture.
Huh.
Well, I mean he has back problems.
I can kind of understand the bed.
I'm just laughing at that level of
money that we're just going to pack up my furniture and here was the interesting part to me and i
appreciate the call shan and apparently chris redmond's grill broke uh-oh so tiger bought him a new grill
so that tiger could use it this week no that's nice uh yeah i would never do that if i were running
apparently when he got there the grill broke yeah and he decided he needed a new grill and so he
asked if he could buy another grill and he would leave it for uh chris rick we think tiger's grilling out
some burgers so i get the yeah well can't go to a restaurant
strive.
His chef is.
Tiger's got to be a meat eater.
You can't have that nickname and eat veggies.
That's true.
You're a tiger.
You can't be like a bunny.
Your name's tiger.
You got to eat meat.
Oh.
I thought you meant people called Tiger the meat eater.
Well, you know, Tiger the Meat Eater.
I was like, how have I never heard this?
He's got quite the past.
I don't know if a meat eater would fall under there.
What is wrong with you?
Who's up next?
Bob and Jamestown.
Bob, go ahead.
859-280-2287.
The Reds are back.
They had a big win against the Dodgers last night.
They're not back, but they did win last night.
And their manager is now picked for the All-Star game for the National League.
Wait a minute.
What is that?
Oh, okay.
I appreciate the call.
Wait a minute.
He's on the phone.
They had the U.S. Sheriff on Fox business to talk about this.
I told you.
You got to call in the local law enforcement.
Wait a minute.
You mean?
No, no.
Okay.
Seriously.
We have to talk about this.
So people don't know.
There's a guy on Twitter called U of L sheriff.
U of L sheriff.
And he's kind of ridiculous.
He was on Fox business today interviewing about this thing.
Do you think they thought he was the actual sheriff?
I think so.
I think that's the only explanation.
Yeah, why else would they have them on there?
They had to have thought he was the sheriff.
Because of his Twitter handle.
I mean, he is the sheriff.
We got to get some law enforcement involved.
A police officer was just assaulted.
This is unbelievable.
Couldn't get the serge.
Could get the sheriff.
Lieutenant wasn't available.
The sheriff is, though.
Stop.
I just, Mark Guinness tweeted it.
I don't think it's photoshopped.
It's something I would photoshop, but I haven't had time.
I mean, they had to have thought he was the real sheriff.
I think so.
We as a sports guy, though, too, right?
But he's not a golf guy.
Yeah.
But maybe he was there.
I don't know.
As a witness?
I don't know.
Yeah.
Sheriff.
Don't see.
We're going to have to take a break.
You and had.
Unbelievable.
Well, what do I need?
Oh, I got to do another Don Franklin.
Don Franklin.
If you need a vehicle, go to Don Franklin.
They've got one near you.
Great selection, great prices.
Take the sheriff with you.
Maybe he can help you find what you need.
You go right down there.
There's 17 locations or don't Franklin Auto.com.
Great service.
When you need a vehicle, it's Don Franklin.
What a day.
It's not even noon.
yet.
I need breakfast.
We'll be right back.

Hey everyone, it's Ryder Strong and Wilfredel from PodMeets Whirl.
And now the Podmeets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show. I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor. I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Like what was, just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion of the 50th season,
from the final attempts at gameplay,
to the desperate plea is the finalist,
to a bunch of, ha, ooh, ha, ooh, ha, ooh.
Again, we are experts.
So make sure to tune in to Pod Meets Twirled
for all our Survivor 50 takes.
Listen to PodMeets Tworl on the IHeart Radio app,

Let's get the work.
Welcome back.
This is seriously one of the weirder days.
I can't believe that the U of L Sheriff was on Fox business.
You were telling a story during the break.
Yeah.
So Kentucky Baseball, we haven't got to talk about them yet.
They won.
So, yeah, let's do this real quick.
Congrats to UK Baseball.
Beat Arkansas, or beat Arkansas, beat Vandy.
They are now one game away from at least sharing the SEC title.
They play tonight.
The weather is actually doesn't look as bad as it did earlier.
So they need to win one of the next two to win.
If you're going to the game, feel free to come by the bar before.
And then tomorrow, what time is the game tomorrow?
12.
6.30 tonight, 12 tomorrow.
6.30 tonight, 12 tomorrow for the game.
Now, go ahead.
So I was working the game last night as the producer,
and Darren Hendrick was on the call with Keith Madison.
For the radio.
Yeah, for the radio.
The former Kentucky baseball coach.
Keith Madison. And at one point in the
broadcast, Darren goes, and Billy Rutledge
is back in the studio doing a good job keeping us
on the air. And Keith Madison, he was
yeah, I like Billy. I met him
and let's just say he is a unique
individual.
Darren kind of pushed
back and he was like, what do you mean by that?
And he goes, oh,
I don't know. I just thought he was going to be much
different than what he was when I met him.
That's how it would describe you.
Unique.
So you know, Keith listens to this show a lot.
I love Keith. He's been on the KSR pre-show.
I gave him a hard time in the moment, and I will for the rest of my life for that comment.
But I didn't know how to take it.
I don't know. That's what I need you guys to figure out.
That you're weird. I think that's it.
Okay, so if he just does the first part where he says you're a unique individual,
then I'd be like Shannon. That says he thinks you're a weirdo.
Okay. But then if he comes with the second part of he's a lot,
different than I thought he'd be.
I'm going to say he thought you would be
a lot more normal.
I'm going to say he thought you might
be a little bit like prickly
and you were normal.
Maybe a little ruder. Yeah. What do you think, Drew?
I heard it all live. I even texted Billy.
Congratulations on being unique.
I was leaving here last night at like 8 o'clock
and I get on the shuttle and the game was going on. I'm like,
I'm going to throw in my earbud and listen to the baseball
and I turned it on the moment
this started. Bill is right.
Darren kind of gave him a chance to not say unique.
And I don't think Keith was being completely positive.
It was just funny the word unique.
But he did the old double down, just a unique guy.
And you are a unique guy.
I agree with Keith.
He doubled down.
But it was.
I mean, I put my earbuds in, hit play, and it was like,
Billy Routledge is in studio.
Yeah, so I don't know.
Do I have a persona that's not matches what I meet in person?
I mean, I know you now, so I can't say that.
But, yeah, that's a weird thing to say.
It was a weird thing to say.
I agree with Shannon.
If he had just said you're unique, that means weird.
You're a weird.
He just kept it there.
That means weird.
But the fact that he then came back and said you're different than he thought,
I think it means you're better than he thought.
I don't think he would say on the radio that you're worse than he thought.
Tone was all positive.
Yeah.
All right.
Who's next?
Chris.
Chris.
Go ahead, Chris.
Hey, I was originally called the political question for you, but I was going to say,
as hardcore as Tiger Woods is,
I bet some of his ex-girlfriend's calling meat-eater.
Okay, enough with the comedy.
What was your other question?
I wanted to know, Matt,
if you think that Andrew this year has more leverage in his political career
to do something like that than Craig does?
Well, I hope he did.
I would just say to you,
shouldn't matter. I appreciate the call. And again, I have no reason to think he was involved,
but he shouldn't be involved. Craig's a little different, because again, Craig's the mayor. So I think
it's understandable if you're the mayor of a city and a high profile person has been arrested
during a high profile event to keep him informed and to discuss how you're going to handle.
If he was informed, then he too will have to talk about how it was handled. He's got to talk about
I was handled either way.
But I do not believe the governor of a state should get involved in local law enforcement.
The attorney general, maybe.
But that's just my take on it.
Again, there's still a lot.
We don't even know if he was.
I kind of would be surprised if he was.
I'm sure they probably called the governor's office and said this is happening because you need to know.
But I'm a big, I am a big believer that we, in this opinion cuts both ways.
You should treat people the same in the law's legal system regardless of who they are.
Now, sometimes you have to consider who they are for practicalities.
Perfect examples of Trump Trump.
You do have to consider who he is when you're talking about various parts of it.
Like he should get an escort out of there, right?
Like, there are things that happen.
And if he's convicted, it should be handled the same way it would.
Otherwise, he also should get all the same rights other defendants get.
But in general, the idea of you should let him out because he has a tea time honestly offends me to be him.
Because that's not what this is supposed to be in terms of a legal system.
but I just don't
I don't totally understand
that to me
even though the police don't make the decision to release
that's a very good point that caller made
there's an inconsistency in my opinion
in
thinking this is serious enough to arrest
and him being back here at 10 o'clock
one of those two things
doesn't make sense to me either it wasn't
serious enough to arrest him, and they realized it, and they turned it around.
At which point, the officer that arrested him needs to face scrutiny, if not in the public,
at least private.
Or, you do have to ask, did you guys let him out so he could make his teetone?
Right.
And would you have done that if it were a rich beam in last place?
Did the other guys who went through the court system this morning get that same treatment
that quickly?
Second degree assault of a police officer, and then you're out and still making it back
to the golf?
look, we may end up finding out that that charge was ridiculous.
But at this moment, they released a guy accused of an officer and let him make his tea time.
We're watching them on TV.
They would not do that if it was Billy.
So we got preferential treatment then?
Maybe.
Maybe. Or, again, there's just a lot of details that we don't know, which makes it hard on a radio show where we have to respond.
We'll know in due time.
Who's next?
Brent.
Brent, go ahead, Brent.
Good morning, gentlemen.
Just calling it.
Got a couple of things real quick.
You brought up the Reef Shepherd having the highest vertical.
Read somewhere on Reddit that his, like, standing vertical reach was really short, like six feet nine inches or seven feet nine, whatever.
Yeah, it was.
You're right, yeah.
But they're claiming he alligator armed.
And second thing is the NBA last night, the defending champs getting beat by, what was it, 35 or 45?
45 or 45, whatever it was.
Holy cow, man, talked me a ton on draft team.
They made a bunch of out of it.
Yeah, well, you know, I mean, they were done at the end of the first quarter.
I appreciate the cost.
So I think they just mailed it in and said, well, win game seven, right?
I mean, I don't know if they will, but the amount was more about, the game was over quick.
My canes, by the way.
What happened to them?
Up 3-1 with 12 minutes to go, lost 5'3 at home.
That's a bad loss.
That's a bad loss.
You can't lose like that.
