Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments
in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

What's up, guys?
This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of
stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
A rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clifford Show on the Iheart radio app,
Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Hey, everybody, it's Shannon the Dude.
Thank you so much for listening to the podcast as always.
Today, during the live show,
it might surprise you, but we had some technical difficulties.
And because of that, we're going to cut out all the stuff that didn't work
and give you the stuff that actually did air.
So the podcast runtime is going to be a little bit short.
shorter than normal. But here it is in the most complete form that we could piece together,
the KSR podcast. Comedy Up Broadway and Lexington welcomes Michael Pallasack, May 17th and 18th.
Then catch Kevin Farley, May 23rd through the 25th. And don't miss Sam Morell. May 31st through
June 2nd. Comedy Up Broadway opened in downtown Lexington in 1987 and they're still bringing
the best and stand-up comedy to the area 37 years later. Call 859-27-1-1-Jose.

Comedy off Broadway.
But what I was saying is, like with the Chas Lanier recruitment,
sometimes I think these guys, we may think we don't have someone,
and then all of a sudden they can find the $300,000 more dollars
and you're right back in it,
which could be the explanation as to while Lanier's back on the table this morning.
Yeah, it's not really the way anyone wants this to go,
but at the end of the day, the dollar amount presented in front of these guys
is ultimately going to win a lot.
of their recruitment. So as, you know, they're throwing out numbers and maybe you're behind a little
bit, if it's somebody, your fans or your boosters really like, you might make up ground very
quickly if it's all about the dollar in that recruitment. Not saying that specifically to Lanier,
but that's the world we live in right now with recruiting. I mean, I always say to people
who say, well, if all he wants is the bag or all he wants is the dollar, then we don't want him.
Well, you take that attitude. You're going to be dabbo taking nobody. I mean, the reality is
how many people out there would be sitting there in two jobs.
and one of them said, I'm going to pay you $100,000,
and the other one says I'm going to pay you $60,000 to do the same thing.
How many people are going to take the one that's $60,000, you know,
because they want to challenge themselves.
The reality is they're going to do that.
You're going to take the one that has the most money,
and I think what I've seen in a lot of these recruitments is the money makes the difference.
But in this case, because Kentucky and Tennessee both need him so much,
I think he's going to end up getting offered the same amount of money at some point, Ryan,
and then he just has to decide where he wants to go.
You know, Kentucky's in a situation now where at least that money's available.
It was not going to be available.
I don't think of this thing last year, but now they've got the collective is going to come up with the money.
They can go after and be competitive trying to get a kid like this.
And Cow didn't want to last year.
I mean, Cal didn't want to spend money on guys like this.
And then there was a report, by the way, on the Cal side, that DJ Wagner,
some people removed their predictions from Arkansas, that he might not go back to Arkansas,
which, on my opinion, if he doesn't go to Arkansas,
Arkansas is going to be bad.
Like I think they need him to be good
because I'm still a DJ Wagner believer,
Drew, that he can still be
and will be a good college player next year.
Yeah, one of the experts, I don't want to get the name wrong.
I can't remember exactly who it was,
but they had a pick-in for Wagner to Arkansas
for like two weeks,
and then a couple days ago they just pulled it back
and made it undecided.
And then another couple of people have pulled it.
And so the tide has turned behind the scenes
a little in some direction, but not towards Arkansas.
Yeah, I don't think it's towards us.
No, no, but I mean, it seemed that it might be reconsidering that if that's the way he was leaning.
But, man, I mean, my assumption that they would be good requires them to have DJ Wagger.
If they don't, then I don't think they're going to be.
But with us, we've talked over and over that we still need a guy.
If I told you today that Chas Lanier called and said he was coming,
but that would mean you did not get Jackson Robinson,
or Chas Lanier picks Tennessee,
and you have to wait and see about Jackson Robinson, which one are you doing?
It's a tough one.
I think I'll go ahead and take Lanier because you certainly have him,
and there's the added element of I'm keeping Tennessee from finding their score,
and they have to go shopping around.
I mean, I want Robbins and over Lanier if they're just both in front of me,
but if he's ready to go and it means Tennessee doesn't get him,
I think I would just go ahead and say welcome to Kentucky.
I think that's the answer.
Yeah, you keep him from playing for Tennessee.
At least you've got one because Jackson Robbins could,
could, you know, change his mind tomorrow.
So I think if Cheslinier says he's ready, I think you take it.
Yeah, I think you got to take the first one, right?
You got to take the first one, because you got to get one more.
You know, there's now, now you may know, what's this I hear about some dude reclassified?
Is there a guy that's considering who is that?
Yeah, I should know his name.
There's a reclass and then there's even, I've seen some, you know.
But there's a kid.
Yeah.
There's a kid name.
Is it Willis?
Will.
I'm going to say the name wrong.
No, Will Riley, perhaps.
Will Riley, that's it.
Will Riley.
And I don't know much about him.
I don't know much, but that seems to be option three if they don't get one of the two that they're, you know, pretty much all in on.
Well, I do think we'll know on Lanier maybe today, if not today, this weekend.
And then you just, the whole fan base sits and watches their phone until May 29th and decides whether or not Jackson Robinson goes to the draft.
It's like the Hamadu, Diallo, Harrison Twins, days again, where we sit there and go, will he come back?
Remember, the Diallo news came at like 1130 at night.
After the deadline, he forgot.
Yeah, he forgot.
That's exactly right.
He forgot to do the, it was one of those Randolph-Gorris.
He was like, I was just watching TV.
He didn't even really have a good excuse.
He said I was watching TV because I remember we just kept updating.
And you're right, it was like after midnight when it came out.
We were all losing our minds all day hitting refresh.
And then a week later, he's like, yeah, I just slipped my mind.
So there you go.
All right.
So the way I was going to start this prior to it not working was to say a few things.
One, we have a couple here that is on the,
their way to Gatlinburg from Murray.
This is their 50th wedding
anniversary. Yes, yes. So how about
a round of applause for that? 50th wedding
anniversary on their way to Gatlinburg.
Are you all going to get Taffy
while you are there? Like, we're going to
ride the go-carts. Not going
to ride the go-carts. No Taffy.
What are you going to do?
Moonshine. Moonshine. Okay.
Well, listen, if that's what you want to do,
that's true, you can get on. What are your
favorite Gatlinburg things?
Oh, how much time you got?
I want to hear. What are your faith?
If you're giving them.
I've rode the big Ferris wheel.
I think it has a name.
I don't know what it's called, but it's a Ferris wheel.
Is there still a Ripley's believe it or not?
Oh, yes.
The Titanic Museum, I did that.
Got fun stories from there.
Titanic Museum.
Do they still have, I mean, the Dolly Parton show?
Like, I know they have Dolly Wood, but they still have that little.
They're about to add like a whole thing with Dolly, like a whole renovation to Dollywood.
Oh, really?
Wow.
What's the, you got to go to the Apple Barn.
Isn't that a thing?
Apple Barn.
Yes.
You all have reservations at the Apple Barn?
You'll be fine.
It's just out of halfway.
To my mom and Larry, Apple Barn is like, you know, they have these Michelin restaurants on the Larry Star rating.
Apple Barn is the highest one.
He doesn't need your rating at the top of the, you know, Sears Tower in Chicago.
He needs Apple Barn outside of Gatwin.
I think we've given them a full anniversary.
They've already gotten the KSR experience.
What's more romantic?
Yeah, you know, you got to meet us.
You got to see when it doesn't work as well.
Now, we also have a woman who has one of the UK baseball hats.
It's Misty English over there.
Misty, they're going to need you today.
They are going to need.
You didn't wear it yesterday, and that's why they lost.
They did, however, Ryan lose 11 to nothing,
which isn't the greatest sign of momentum heading into the postseason.
It was two to nothing going into the seventh.
Kentucky had one hit, and then LSU hit Grand Slam in the 7th,
hit a grand slam in the 8.
They hit two grand slams in the seventh and eighth.
It's just like throwing water, going gas on a fire.
Not water on fire.
That wouldn't work.
Yeah, you're a little rattled.
You're going to be all right.
It'll be all right.
But they need to get this.
Nice to get this win today.
They're probably, they're going to have the double by either way.
Really, they're playing to be.
I don't think they can be the one unless they win the tournament.
So they're playing trying to be a two or a three, maybe instead of a four or a five
or something like that, Drew.
Yeah, I thought losing might happen yesterday.
because they just, you know, didn't roll out one of their regular starters,
relied on the bullpen a lot.
You think that was a mistake?
Really?
Playing in your first game, don't play, pitch one of your best guys?
I mean, as bad as it was to start, he got out of it.
I mean, LSU didn't really go off to later in the game.
They took him out after an inning, though, did it?
But, I mean, only gave up, you know, what was it?
Two runs.
Yeah, two runs.
So I was more disappointing the one hit, really, because the bat should travel.
They're better than that.
And then today, you don't expect to see Arkansas in the losers bracket,
and they're rolling out their stud pitcher.
He's a top 10 pick.
he beat us in Lexington.
You don't expect to see that.
And that's why we don't do that.
I mean, like, I think you, the fact that you're, if you look at a history of the SEC
tournament, and believe me, I'm not claiming to be an SEC baseball tournament expert.
But I did read that no one has won the SEC baseball tournament in like 11 years that
lost their first game.
So if that's the case, I feel like you don't just start a midweek pitcher in the first game.
and then now you're going to face, like you said, Arkansas's ace, who is, I just looked at the Major League Baseball mock draft,
and he's like the second college picker, pitcher listed is going. So it's going to be a tough ride for UK baseball.
The top seed lost, though. You know, the SEC tournament, it's kind of not as important in that sport because you really want to be rested for the next week.
But you had Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, and A&M lose. So the losers bracket's the best teams today.
Yeah, 859-280-2287.
And the other thing is, as folks know, I leave after tomorrow.
This is your swan song in Lexington.
This is the last show we'll do in Lexington.
Tomorrow we will be at Don Franklin, Nissan in Somerset, which should be a lot of fun.
But as the last show here in Lexington, you know, I've spent this week trying to make sure like everything's organized, right?
You know, you go on a vacation.
It's almost as hard to get to leave as it is before.
We did a big day of all the OVW stuff yesterday, and we've been doing it with the radio.
And so I wanted to ask you, Ryan, how do you feel?
We finalized our radio schedule.
We have guest hosts include Peter Burns.
You know, we have Tom Hart and Meyer Metcalf every week.
Yes.
We got part of my take is coming.
Alyssa Lane is going to make her debut as a host one day.
We're going to have Kyle Tucker and Kyle Mann one day.
And of course, then you guys will host two of the four days.
There's going to be more Mario and a little bit more Billy.
But this is all, you know, as I said to you all, the responsibility is now on you and Drew.
How are we feeling in terms of how we're ready for these two months after this wonderful start today?
Well, I'll just say this.
I'll be anxiously awaiting your return.
on August the 1st. I'll be counting the days. Do you come back on August the 1st?
Now, are you mentally prepared to do the background to do like the daily show prep of it, Drew?
I mean, I know you are. How do we feel about him? Is he ready to do the showper?
We're going to get him reading KSR a lot. Got to be hip on all the UK topics. I'm confident
in him. I've already got a list of like 15 topics. But the news.
But you can't do that. I mean, yeah, I mean, the show is next Tuesday.
Yeah.
It's Thursday.
Yes.
A lot can change.
A lot can change.
Oh, yeah.
They'll be...
If you did this before, you'd be talking about what the Nix are going to be like in the Eastern Conference finals.
Like, you're going to have to do the show prep.
Can I go through mine?
Yes.
Maybe you can mirror it.
Yes.
Okay.
So I sit down.
Now, you might do this earlier because you're not as much of a night out as me.
Yes.
But I sit down at like 10 o'clock.
And I have...
I have five websites that I go to every day.
Would you like to know what my phone?
I would love to know what they are.
First thing I go to is Kentucky SportsRadio.com.
I heard of that website.
And basically I look at it and say, is there anything today that I missed that was a Kentucky important story?
That's step one.
Then step two, I go to Kentucky.com.
I go to the Lexington website because I still think, even though they have a lot of stuff on their junk,
sometimes they do things like
what are the rules about
killing chickens, right?
And you go, well, that's kind of interesting.
That's number two.
Then I try to go, I go to ESPN.
Is there a national story
that could make sense to use?
And then the last two,
they floated over the years.
But what I've found is
Huffington Post is a good way
they sort of do some politics,
some entertainment, some like,
that's where you can find
the, you know, what's happening with do a leap of bleepa.
Is that a person?
Yeah, it is.
Or whatever, someone like that.
And then finally, I'll go to Barstool because sometimes their mindset, it's a little different
than ours, but in the thing.
So I go to those five websites.
And usually by then, I've got 12 topics.
And then if I don't, the last thing I do is go to Twitter trends and see is something
trending that would make sense to use.
And usually if I do those six, I feel like I've got everything I need.
What do you think yours will be?
The sites I go to?
Yes, I've given you mine.
I'm not saying you have to go the same ones as me, but what's yours going to be?
The days that you're off, I always go to K at katekatesportsradio.com.
Why aren't you going there every day?
Oh, I do.
But that's why I'm making the topics.
I don't go to Lexington.com because I don't subscribe to them.
Well, maybe you should think about for two months, Shannon, it's like $1.99 a month or something for the first three months.
maybe you get a three-month subscription just to get you through this.
So instead of doing that, I go to.
You didn't agree to that.
No.
It's $1.99 a month.
He's not paying for the Internet.
I didn't pay for it.
You didn't agree to the dollar-night.
But that's how you can get local stuff, like the good local stuff.
So that's why I go to L-AX-18.com and K-Y-T.com.
I go to their site.
But the problem with theirs.
Okay, so their shut.
I've done that too.
The problem with theirs is it's all about like car wrecks and stuff.
No, I'm being dead serious.
Like theirs is about local crime.
And unless it's Scotty Sheffler outside.
You need to find Janet Patton.
No, I don't want you to come on here and be like, you know, there's a wreck on Man of War and Harrisburg.
Like, that's not really radio content.
So you see what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Okay.
But I need to add.
Also, Kentucky.com gives news from around the state, which is also good.
Yeah.
I need to put Huffington Post in my repertoire because I go to TMZ.com.
It's okay.
That's more celebrity gossip.
Yes.
That's okay.
Yeah.
And then I go to your Twitter, see what you tweet it out.
So what do you do for, like, news?
KYT.com really.
So you think if it's not on KYT, like it's not real news?
Why don't we do this?
Okay.
Let's just go to KYT right now.
All right.
And let's see what if Ryan was hosting.
What our stories would be.
Because, you know, I think, and I don't say this to be mean to WKYT,
there's probably some national stories they don't cover in depth.
Okay, so here's story one, Chad.
All right.
Lexington leaders.
raise issues with solar energy plan.
That sounds boring.
Next.
I agree with that one.
Jim Caldwell's forecast, storms are coming.
See, lots of rain in the forecast.
We might just hit on that just a minute.
No, that's just like a quick little hitter, Dwayne, you know.
Try this easy prep mill for your grill this weekend.
No, cooking segment.
Yeah.
Cooking with Matt's segment would probably be a huge hit someday.
And then Lexington High School hosts first ceremony
for students to be certified nurses.
You might try a difference.
It's a big world out there, Ryan.
It's a big world.
You might consider.
I'm just suggesting that maybe you go beyond WKYT
and look at the whole news spectrum.
Yeah, but $1.99 a week.
It's not a week.
It's not a week.
I think it's a month.
$1.99 in the first three months.
$1.99 in the first three months.
You don't like it?
Cancel it.
And then move on.
Okay.
So you can see, Drew, why?
I'm a little nervous.
Me too now after that.
After that start.
Oh, I do go to Twitter trends.
That was the one you said you do.
I look at that.
Okay.
Yeah, that's a good one.
All right.
Well, I'm pulling for you.
Thank you.
We need it.
We'll be counting down the days until you get back.
Now, listen, you have to sell it to these people.
You're going to want people to tune in for two months.
So don't go, I'm counting down the days.
Give the sell as to why they're going to love.
like radio with Ryan Lippon.
Okay, no, we don't ever start with a.
You have to, I used to say to Big Easy,
if you don't believe it, they won't believe it.
Yes.
So make them believe it.
We're going to do a KSR the way it's supposed to be,
the way it's meant to be, we're going to do a lot better
than any guest hosts you have.
So tune in when Drew and Shannon and I are doing it every day.
How about this, Matt?
This is not an inconvenience.
This is an opportunity.
to shine and we're very excited for the listeners to go on this two-month journey with us.
Yes.
And we're going to do a great job hosting.
We don't know what's next, but we hope you'll listen because we're excited to do it.
There it is.
Drew Frank.
Yay!
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.

and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context and ask the questions everybody wants answered.
SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.
Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

What's up, guys?

Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
A rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything
he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio here at KS Bar.
It's a little rainy outside.
I'm sorry, but you could come in and get lunch.
Got a good crowd here ready to go.
Also, the UK baseball game is starting right now.
So there's a couple of events happening during this show.
The UK baseball game will be going on.
We'll keep you updated on the score.
Also, at 1130 is the press conference in Louisville from the mayor,
Craig Greenberg and the chief of police, basically about what they're going to do
on the Scotty Sheffler situation.
They're going to release the video.
Apparently there was a video on a light pole somewhere on the street, and they're going to release it.
And then they're also going to talk about any internal investigation with the officer.
I think the fact that they announced that suggests there's some investigation.
Like you don't normally hear after an issue of them to go, oh yeah, we'll also tell you about the investigation of the officer.
There's clearly something.
So I actually think there'll probably be some news, Drew, at 1130 this morning,
and that'll be while we're on the show.
Like most people, I'm interested to see whatever this footage looks like.
You know, it's in the middle of a storm on top of a light pole.
Who knows what kind of quality would be?
I'll be what kind of camera they have.
They can look through that.
But I think that's what we'll catch most people's attention this morning is when that's released.
Yeah.
And you know if you're the mayor or really if you're just a citizen of Louisville or
Kentucky, you're like, can this please go away?
Yes.
I mean, like, you know, what makes me a little frustrated at that county attorney is he turned the story into another couple of days, which he didn't need to do, right?
Like, he needed by arguing about that continuance, then we got another set.
I mean, I, my TikTok right now, the algorithm is clearly on golf because of it being at Valhalla.
But Steve Romines is on every one of my TikToks.
And like, I don't think that's good.
I want this to not continue.
Because I don't know if you saw the ratings.
PGA had the highest ratings the last four years, right?
It had during the final, like, hole,
it was one of the highest non-masters golf tournaments since the Tiger era in the last couple of holes.
So I just don't want this to continue to linger, Ryan,
and make that the final impression people have of the event here in Kentucky.
Yeah, it was a huge success.
outside of those events that happened on Friday morning.
Now, you take that out of the wind?
The weather cooperated on Saturday and Sunday.
It was a great finish and a great final.
It's been awesome.
Showcase Louisville and our state,
except for what happened on the Friday morning.
One person writes, Matt, I'm pulling for the guys while you're gone.
Do you think we should text Ryan at 10 o'clock every night
and remind him to check his news sources?
You know, that might be my Kentucky-branded reminder of the day, Shannon, right?
Maybe at 10 o'clock, maybe not everybody, but maybe everybody take a day or so that at 10 o'clock they just send a text to Ryan and say, Ryan, hey, remember to check your news sources.
They'll start tonight.
Now that you said that, it'll start tonight.
It doesn't have to be tonight, but sometimes we all need a reminder set on our phone.
This can be a reminder from the general public.
I use reminders to get through my day.
It's very helpful, Ryan.
Maybe they could even text the topic.
You can let Ryan run the topics tomorrow on the show for your last show.
No, he's not doing the last show.
You don't trust him?
Come on.
I trust him.
Here's what I trust Ryan to know the hardest part of doing a radio show is the getting in and out, keeping the thing moving.
Like, I trust Ryan on all that.
He's a pro.
He's a pro with that.
That is a very difficult skill that I think only three or four people in this market know how to do.
And Ryan is one of those.
Do I trust him to, at the end of June, be checking the news topics?
You know, Douglas will have a spring game, or Josiah will have an ingrown toenail,
or there are things like that, Drew, that make me a little bit more concerned.
I think he's got it.
You know, there are days where I feel like Ryan's learning the news when we're talking about him on the show,
but he'll be prepared.
I have no doubt.
Now, there are a couple, you know, kind of things kind of hanging out there.
We maybe could fall back on, like finish the counties.
But see, I don't want you, that's a crutch.
Well, it might get us through a couple days.
But see, but you can, you can't look at it as get it through.
Drew hit it.
This is your opportunity.
This is like, like when I, you know how ESPN will ask me to host on Thanksgiving.
Yes.
Okay.
That stinks.
Nobody wants to do that.
But my view is, here's my chance to show.
So like yesterday, this is a little behind the scenes.
Can we all agree we're not going to tell anybody this?
Is this fair?
All right.
Probably go out anyway here with the equipment.
Everybody listening.
We're all in this together, right?
We're on it together.
They're contemplating next year.
It may not happen next year.
It might happen the next year.
They're contemplating sending me and Myron on the road to, like, do our shows live at NFL
stadiums.
Oh, that'd be cool.
So like our Sunday morning show, not every week, but occasionally, ESPN gets the third
radio pick of the week.
So on a Sunday, the best game is on
Westwood 1, the second
best game is on something else, and then the ESPN
radio gets the third one. So they're
contemplating, sending us
to wherever those games are.
Well, that's kind of exciting.
It is very cool. It's kind of excited. It's kind of
cool to think about that for like
eight weeks of the year, we would be
live from Pick the Stadium.
Right? So yesterday
we had to meet
with the sales team.
Okay, I've never met anybody.
And they ask us to pitch the show.
And before we get on there, the boss goes, the boss comes up to me and Meyer, and he's like, look, you guys need to project confidence.
Right?
You need to act.
You need to show these salespeople in order to sell your show.
They're going to have to feel like you believe in it.
Yeah.
All right.
I said, we got it.
So we do the thing, and I pitch it.
And I'm like, you know, this is the most diverse audience.
on ESPN radio, which I really believe, and I do all this.
We get the most female callers, brab, brer, bra, bra, bra, and I'm like, bam, bam, bam.
And when it's over, the boss calls us back on, we go, how'd you do?
And he goes, I was a lot more confidence than I thought you did.
But I think, Drew, that's what you have to do.
If you don't believe it, nobody else will.
And we absolutely believe it over here, right, Ryan?
We'll be fine.
I mean, we did it on Friday.
We'll be fine.
Who's up first, Sharon?
Let's go to Joseph.
Joseph, go ahead, Joseph.
Hey, Matt, two things.
First off, you know, enjoy your vacation.
We'll miss you.
Also, how do you feel about the football season
and your record prediction?
Yeah, so on the football season, I wanted to do that.
I was going to do this tomorrow, but Joseph, I'll do it today.
I think that's a good question.
We always, I always like to say, let's predict our record at this time of year
and then right before, after we've had fall practice right before the season starts.
I did a look at this a few days ago.
I think we're going to be significantly better.
I think we're also going to be seven and five,
which I think is going to frustrate people.
But I think we are going to be a lot better team,
and I think we're probably going to be seven and five.
The way I project that is I think we lose to Georgia at home.
I am not picking us to beat Tennessee.
ever again, probably, just because it just breaks my heart too much.
So that's two losses.
I think you have to predict Kentucky to lose at Texas and Ole Miss.
I mean, if we win one, that's awesome.
But I don't know how you can legitimately believe
you're going to go on the road to teams projected
to finish in the playoff and beat them.
So that's four losses.
And then I look and go, you play Auburn at home,
you play South Carolina at home,
you play Florida on the road, you play Louisville at home.
If you were to get through that stretch and go three and one,
I feel like you'd have to be happy
because those are four games that on paper might all be toss-ups.
So I think seven and five is my prediction.
I think we will be a lot better, but have the same record.
What do you think?
Kind of agree.
And if they can get to eight and four,
even though eight and four doesn't feel like it should be a celebration
with this schedule, I think it should be.
and it's a little unfair to put on the team,
but that South Carolina game might decide the whole year,
barring any upsets.
Second game of the year.
Second game of the year.
That's our first ABC game.
The country will be watching.
You got to assume you beat Southern Miss in week one.
I think that could decide the whole year,
as long as you don't get upset somewhere else
or you steal one, that could change things.
But if it's pretty chalk throughout,
that South Carolina game is going to be a difference maker.
You got to get South Carolina in week two.
And you're right.
I think this team will be much better than last year.
And it's not crazy.
They could go six and six and six and even have a great season.
They could go six and they could be better than last year and go six and six.
Yes.
I mean, by looking at the schedule.
Now, let me give you the upside.
The upside is there's a world where they can go nine and three.
It's not crazy how they do it.
And they could be in the playoff because of the strength of their schedule.
The upside to going to Texas and going to.
old miss is that if you were to steal one of those drew you could make a legitimate
playoff claim so you could look at the at tennessee at uh old miss at texas and say if you can
win all your home games except georgia yeah and steal one of those three you could be nine and
three fighting for the last playoff spot and it's not
crazy because Kentucky's strength of schedule will be really high if those teams do what you think
they'll do. Yeah, right now in the way too early rankings and projections, Georgia and Texas
are like one, two and three, depending which one you're looking at. Those are going to be two elite teams.
I think you kind of go ahead and chalk up his losses now. But Knoxville and Ole Miss, as good as
Ole Miss is going to be if you can get one of those. That is a complete difference maker.
Your other road games, Florida, I think they're down pretty bad. Now, it's in games.
But I still think Florida's more towards stink than rebuilding that.
So that's another road game that I think you need to win to keep what you call a successful season alive.
I think what we don't have this year is that for many, many years, we actually had a lot more gimmies than you realized.
We had the three gimmies.
Louisville for the last four or five years has basically been a gimmie.
Vandy's been a gimmie.
There's five right there.
And Missouri had been a gimmick.
Yeah.
So you kind of thought they're six, and we don't even have to be very good.
Then when South Carolina and Florida were kind of struggling, now you're at eight, and you still don't even really have to be that good.
It's not like that.
No, it's not.
The only gimmies are the three stinky teams and bandy.
So I think you really only have four gimmies this year.
Auburn at home is oddly a game we should win, but it's a.
It's a much, much harder schedule, and we just have to prepare our minds for that in evaluating the team.
We have no ads today because of the Kentucky baseball game.
So we'll take a break and be right back.
This is KSR.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.

What's up, guys?
This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Clivert Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
A rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast, Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the bar like,
after you go through a training camp
with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome back, Tegu Sports Radio,
here at KS Bar and Grill.
Text machine 772-745254.
One person writes, Matt,
are you going to have the text machine with you on your trip?
I am.
So you all might think about having your own one
if you want to have a have one i'm going to have this because it'd be too hard to take off my phone
um and uh i'm committed by the way i'm only going to check my phone uh ryan three times a day
when i wake up when i go to sleep and then i'm going to look at it once in the day and i i
and people won't believe this but this is true not getting on twitter ever for i'm not getting
on it ever. I might get, I'm serious. I've thought about this for months. When I really,
when I really am honest with myself about where my stress comes from, it comes from that.
Because I think that app is a cesspool, but it's a necessary cesspool for the job,
but it honestly is the thing that makes it the worse for me. And so I'm not getting on it. I think
if I'm get on it, what's the point of going on vacation? Right. Like, I mean, I can be on the
the internet anywhere. So I'll do like Instagram maybe to communicate with my friends. And, you know,
I might one day pop up on KS board or the Facebook page, but I'm not getting on Twitter ever.
And I'm committed to only checking my phone three times a day. I mean, really, that's good for you.
For me, that's hard. For a lot of people, that might be nothing. But you know, for me, that's going to
be hard, but I'm committed to do it. Very hard. But for you to hit the reset button and kind of
your own piece of mind, it's the right thing to do while you're on this break right now.
I contemplated just deleting the Twitter app while I'm gone, but I'm worried I won't know how to log back in.
You can delete the app without long a lot out.
I'm not 100 sure.
I'm not 100% sure that I know how to do it.
So I may not do that.
You can remove the app without messing with your account.
We'll set you up if you want.
Can you do that?
All right.
Well, you have to show me how to do that.
UK baseball leads to one.
No, he caught it.
He caught it.
He caught it.
He caught it.
Not up in here.
Wow.
Wow.
What a play.
I thought.
I thought that was over the fence, so two to nothing.
Rob him at the first inning.
That's our guy that came on our show.
That was that.
Nolan McCarthy, yeah.
I thought that was out.
Well, along those lines, when person writes, I'm watching this Kentucky Arkansas game, Matt, everybody has a mustache.
When did that become a thing?
Every white dude that plays baseball has a mustache now.
What's that about, Drew?
I don't know.
Guy, I guess it's what the kids are doing these days.
Also, the-
I thought mustaches used to be what women thought made you look like a creep.
Well, now it's like.
It's like mustaches are sexy.
And mullets.
Mullets have been in for a little while.
I don't know.
I can't keep on.
Somehow Bell County went out of style and is now back in style just over the last few years.
I think it started with like the Major League Baseball, No Shave November,
and all the baseball players would have all the long hair and the beers and mustache ears.
They like long hair.
They like mustache.
Yeah.
Like it used to be, I mean, I think women have always kind of had a thing for a well-trimmed beard.
But now they like mustaches, mustache only.
And I don't understand.
Some of them look.
really bad really bad it's the thing now maybe we should consider it try to stay young
I can girl bondock out I would look shan's mustache I would look so ridiculous with the mustache who's
up next shame from Grayson Shane go ahead Shane hey how's it going fellas doing good yeah good
yeah Matt just want to wish you a safe trip but as you go out of town there thank you
and oh boys I watched the guy the other day to get out of his call
take his glasses off, dip them down into the wash bucket that you used to wash your windows off with,
turn his shirt inside out, and cleaned them off and put them back on his face.
That's the grossest thing I hear of.
Well, I mean, it's foul to himself, right?
For people who can't hear here, they said a man would go to where you get your bucket with the water to clean your car at the gas station,
and he cleaning his glasses in it.
Oh, water is foul, isn't it?
bugs and dirt and grime and
it's not even water is everything else in there like some sort of cleaning product that's in there
probably does have a cleaning product in it but that's foul isn't it I'm not doing that
if I had a fresh bucket of cleaner that I poured myself and I know it's pretty clean I might
do it if I need it real bad but no I'm not a dirty bucket for my glasses did you see
during the NHL finals at during the period breaks of a couple of the finals
did you see they're going to have the Stanley pup oh no
They're going to have the Stanley Pup.
They're going to put dogs in a hockey rink
and let them try to knock a ball into a goal.
And they're calling it the Stanley Pup,
trying to build off the Puppie Super Bowl.
I usually catch a little bit of the Puppie Bowl,
so I'll probably watch a few minutes of the Stanley Pup if I'm home and it's on.
It may be the only part of the Stanley Cup I watch is the Stanley Pup.
I kind of feel like you are a Stanley Cup.
You like when dogs walk around and sniff each other on television.
They'll be sliding on the ice and, you know, battling their little pause trying to get their momentum and go and to hit the ball.
It'll be a great fun.
They'll get a fight.
But the dogs don't know, Shannon, they're supposed to put the ball in the thing.
It's like the horse question.
They're not going to know, right?
Yeah, they're just going wherever the food is.
Dogs on ice.
I don't know if that's – is that going to be entertaining for anybody?
I just felt like you would like it.
But they're – one of the Stanley Cup final games on ESPN instead of giving, like, where the commentators just told.
talk about their opinions, they're going to show the Stanley Puck, which should tell you how they value
the commentators that are in the studio.
Who's next?
Caitlin.
Caitlin, go ahead, Caitlin.
Hi, first time, long time.
Who are?
What's up?
So I was actually calling to ask Drew a question.
My husband and I went to Clark's Pump and Shop remote and you were wearing a Titan's hat,
and he was too.
I had tried to search for that hat everywhere,
and I was curious where you bought it.
Look at you with the fashion icon.
I don't remember I have a lot of it.
Was it black?
No, it was blue, and it had like rope wrapped around.
Oh, yeah, that was a tough find.
That one took me about three years to find,
so I wish I could help you.
It popped up on eBay one day.
It's an old model.
I appreciate it.
I'm sorry.
Follow Drew's Instagram for more of his fashion choices,
and you will be able.
He's an influence.
It's my favorite hat.
It did take a while to find.
Did you all hear, by the way, about the big controversy with the girl on Instagram
who was mad that a restaurant didn't give her a free meal?
Did you see this?
No.
So there's a girl, I guess her thing is she's like a food Instagram person.
Okay.
And restaurants will call her and say, hey, come to our place and review it because it gives us good whatever.
Well, she wanted to eat somewhere.
And so she called it and said, hey, I'll come review your place.
And they were like, okay, you can have a reservation at eight.
And then she was kind of like, but are you?
You're going to, and they go, we don't know who you are.
And she like go, excuse me.
And they said, you only have 20,000 followers.
When you have 100, call us.
Oh, no.
And she got really mad.
But I'm on the restaurant side.
It's embarrassing for her.
You don't go ask people for free food.
We'll take a break and come back.
Hour number two.
