Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,

Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
A rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What? Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Welcome everyone, Kentucky Sports Radio here live on Friday, May the 24th in Somerset, Kentucky
at Don Franklin, Nissan.
You could give us a shout on the Clark's Puppet Shop phone line, 859-280-2287.
A Vision Auto Glass Text Machine is 772-7-7-4-25-4 in this edition, sponsored by the
T.J. Smith Law Office, you call T.J. I'll Make them Pay.
We are here at Somerset at Don Franklin, where they have great prices, great dealership.
We go all over the state, Don Franklin Auto.com.
And I will say, how about this crowd here in Somerset on a Friday in May?
Absolute packed house here.
So thank you all very much.
Right before Memorial Day weekend, maybe we caught people on their way to the lake.
But either way, awesome to see everybody here this morning, right?
We've done several shows in Somerset, and they never disappoint.
I mean, they always pack it out, so kudos to you guys.
I mean, this is like back when we go to Mr. Gaddy's kind of crowd here this morning.
So nice to have them.
I think about all the shows in Somerset.
You know, this was, I say this a lot when we come here.
It was right at a furniture store where we were down there where we were when Katina Powell broke.
That story broke sitting right down there.
I don't even know.
Is that furniture store even still here?
It is.
So I always think of this place during that.
Yeah, I was surprised by this.
crowd we walked in how good it is Somerset's always great to us this is really great and we
even got celebrities got Andy our favorite golfer chase back there Bob and James town
where's Chase where's Ches? Lots of uh lots of uh he's got a holla shirt or hala hat on got bob and
james town sitting there I'm sure he'll get him make his presence known at some point
we'll take a phone call in the middle of the show so uh so yeah so a couple things first of all my
parents are going to be here in a little bit so say hi to them when they get here it's uh as I said
I think I said this yesterday, but it was when we were off the air for one of the seven times
that this week is my dad's 87th birthday.
So we're going to eat here in Somerset.
Yeah.
Somebody tell me, I still need to know where to take people.
Nobody gave me a great suggestion.
Mr. Gatties.
We're not going to do that.
Our friend Gabe, his dad listens every day, and it's his 80th birthday today.
Nice.
So I wanted to say happy birthday to him as well.
So I was thinking last night since this is my last show until the last show.
the 1st of August, kind of what I wanted to do for the last show and sort of what a good topic was.
And here's what I decided to do.
So I'm going to be back in this country, probably not before, but maybe like August 1st, 2nd.
And my first show back will be August 5th.
So I'm going to give you a few things, and I want us to guess what is the status going to be when I get back?
All right.
All right.
So when I get back August 5th, what is going to be the status on these things?
Are you ready to go?
Ready.
We have 11 UK basketball players.
How many basketball players are we going to have on August 5th?
And what are their names going to be?
Who is going to be on the basketball team on August 5th?
Drew, I'll start with you.
Oh, boy.
I will say there will be 13 of them adding, oh, goodness.
I'll say Robinson.
Okay.
And then a completely random name that doesn't...
That we don't know yet?
Yeah.
You can say that.
You can say it somebody we don't know.
Just to fill out the roster.
All right.
So you're going to say Jackson Robinson?
I'll even add freshman or sophomore, a young name for the end of the bench.
Okay.
But a transfer?
Yeah.
All right.
So what about you?
I was going to say Robinson and I was going to say a young guy that we've never even talked about,
don't know who it is.
Don't know.
I haven't even heard the name yet.
I think that'll be the 13th guy.
That's 12 and 13.
So they have 13 scholarships.
So we have 11 we've taken.
I'll go 14, I guess.
Jackson Robinson, probably a player that we don't know yet.
You're going to get a walk on.
Maybe I'll add a walk on as well.
Okay.
I'm going to guess, I'm going to say Jackson Robinson and a player from overseas
that we've never even heard their name.
Yeah.
But somebody from overseas that gets added in like July or something like that.
Maybe you can meet them while you're over there.
Yes, well, actually, that's why I'm going.
Is that?
Oh, okay.
They've asked me to do a little bit of scouting.
I'm going to go look at the Estonian basketball.
of all leagues and see if we can find another one.
So that's going to be my guess.
We're going to talk later about the college sports settlement.
But something to note, by the way, is one of the ramifications of it is these scholarship
limits are going to go away.
I don't know if people realize that.
Like, it's going to go back to the old days where you could have as many people on the
team as you wanted.
Like, that's going to, that's probably going to be part of this.
Now, you still have to fit them into your salary cap, but you want to have 15 basketball
players you can.
most basketball teams won't do that.
But football, but in football, you're going to start to see rosters expand,
so that's something to think about.
All right, so that's number one.
Number two, who's going to be the NBA champion when I get back?
I'll go first.
Boston Celtics.
They're going to sweep.
They choke every year.
They're still going to do it?
They look good last night.
They're up too on the Pacers.
They've been lucky, though.
They've played the, what was it, the Cavs without Donovan Mitchell?
They've played the Knicks without, or excuse me,
The bracket opened up for them.
No, they played the Heat without Jimmy Butler.
They played the Caval without Donvin Mitchell.
And now they're getting the Pacers without Hallibur.
Now we just need whoever we plan in the finals to be without their star player.
And that's the NBA title right there.
All right, what about you?
I wish it would be the Pacers, but I've watched every minute of the Celtics Pacers.
And Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum, they are superstars.
So if I'm picking it, it's been a long drop for Boston.
They haven't won a title in what since 0-08?
0-8?
Oh, A's it was?
This is the year.
Boston gets it.
Drew.
The confetti will fall on Anthony Edwards and Carl Towns after a close series.
If it's not them, it's going to be the Mavs.
But I'm taking the West.
Yeah.
Well, I'm taking the wolves.
But I'm completely eliminating the Celtics.
They're third in my brain.
I would have never thought this even a week ago, but I think Dallas is going to win the time.
I think when you get to the finals, best players win.
And Luca is better than Tatum and Kyrie is better than Jalen Brown, I think.
So I'm going to take PJ Washington.
You talk about a story when he was here, would you have thought PJ Washington would be the third best player on an NBA team?
Your answer is that could win the title.
And knock it down big free throws at the end of the game.
And he didn't free throws and threes like it's crazy, but I think that's going to happen.
If you're at my house two nights ago, I was saying bad things about PJ Washington, the KSR Parlay, which we hit, by the way.
Missed by.
No, no, we needed it.
All we needed was a PJ3 and he was one for eight, and then he hit one with a minute left.
So we hit another parlay.
By the way, KSR Parley is hot.
three straight wins. So when we do them while we're gone, just keep doing it.
Turns out we're an NBA show. All right. Third, UK baseball, where will they have gone
in the tournament? Will they have gone to Omaha? Will they have won the title? Will they have
lost? By the way, the new projected bracket, which just came out this morning, has Kentucky still
as the number one overall seat? Still, number one overall seat in the tournament would host in the
first round and then play East Carolina or Duke to go to Omaha, where will the Kentucky
baseball team be?
I'm going to say they're going to end up in the College World Series.
I just feel like I think this is the year, man.
They've got the pitching.
These guys are hitters.
They're just a fun bunch.
They're an upperclassmen.
Their experience, this is the year they finally get there.
Now, I don't know if they can win it, but I think they can get there.
I mean, Tuckies never made it, right?
Never made it.
Never made it.
Of course, they would do it as I leave, but that would be a pretty amazing accomplishment.
So you got them in the College World Series.
How far?
Maybe second round.
I mean, I don't think it'll be there for long.
But that's why I think it's going to happen because you're not going to be here.
Drew's not going to be here.
It's our one chance to go to the College World Series.
But you can go.
Shannon and I can.
Yes, let's go.
Seriously, you have wanted to go your whole life.
He's always said this forever.
It's on his bucket list.
Why not go?
It would be cool.
You two go.
You can take Mario.
You can hit the streets of Omaha.
Drew and I, if we go, there's a referee there who's service with papers.
We're not allowed in Omaha.
We're not allowed in Omaha.
We're the only safe ones to go.
You guys were the only ones that didn't get sued, so why don't you go?
If you give us our blessing, I'm going to, of course.
Ryan, he's on the other side of the planet.
We can do whatever we want.
You can do whatever you want.
You can run the bases if you want.
I don't care.
What about you?
I'm going to agree with Ryan.
I think after hosting a region last year, winning it in Lexington, the home-filled
advantage will take over this year and carry them the whole way to get to Omaha.
I just think we're due for a fun couple weekends coming up in Lexington.
Yeah, I think Kentucky, the way it's situation,
I think they're going to be the one seed.
The only way they could drop, because you remember,
now Arkansas, who was blown, they're out of the tournament.
Tennessee, if Tennessee were to win the SEC tournament and us lose,
then maybe they'd be the one and we'd be the two.
But we're probably not dropping below the number two seed, no matter what.
You look at the teams that are projected to go against them.
They're all teams Kentucky's probably better then.
So, Shannon, I'm going to put us in the College World Series 2.
I don't know that we'll stay there a long time.
but I think we'll go.
I'm going to have them in the College World Series.
I'm going to call my shot right now.
Kentucky wins the national championship.
Whoa.
In baseball.
Wow.
I will tell you something.
The only FOMO I will have is if they go out there and win the College World Series.
And that will stink.
Even going is disappointing to not be there.
But if they go win it, that would be an amazing accomplishment.
You may have to find a flight.
Fly by over to Omaha.
Go to go to the game.
I hope it happens.
That would be absolutely great.
All right, finally, NBA draft.
I'm going to give you the player.
You tell me where they end up getting picked.
Where's Rob Dillingham?
What numbers he getting picked?
I'm going to go forth to the Spurs.
You got him going forth?
What about you?
To the Spurs.
That's the smart money.
He goes to the Spurs and read the pick ahead of him.
Yeah.
Rob is not dropping below fourth.
So Rob is either, I could see him.
going up to second, but he's not dropping below fourth.
He will be, and if he's on the Spurs, you're going to see, I mean, dude with him with Wimby,
he's got a chance to have a career where he is on, like, he has a chance to be a transcendent
star in terms of kids liking him and stuff if he ends up in San Antonio.
All right.
Does Antonio Reeves get drafted?
He should.
I know he's not listed.
I think he will.
Second round.
Like the second round.
Second round, okay.
I think he'll get drafted by an experienced team that just needs to add some shooting.
You know, he can be an immediate help there.
So someone will take a flyer on him late in the second.
Yes, the wolves, the magic.
Somebody that's got a late pick that's a good team, they just need a shooter.
Even if they have to sit him down in the G league for a happy year.
They want that insurance card.
I think that's why he gets drafted.
I'm going to go a little contrary.
I'm going to say he doesn't get drafted.
It makes me mad.
But it actually works out the best for him because he can.
and pick a team where he will make the team and have a good shot at doing something.
So that's going to be, it will make me mad that he doesn't get drafted,
but it'll go like that.
Does Justin Edwards go in the first round?
Yes or no?
Looks like he's going to go in the first round.
I mean, just all the projections thinks that he's there.
So even though we all scratch our head, I think it probably happens.
I'll say false to the second round, but he's getting picked.
They drafts so much on potential.
I don't think he's a first round guy, but I think he gets,
I don't think he should be first round pick, but he will be.
I'm going to go with Drew.
He gets picked.
early in the second round. Does Ugo go to Louisville?
Oh, my goodness, Ugo. I mean, I love that guy, but it is hard to keep up with where he's going.
It's been everywhere. It's been the NBA. No college. It's been Alabama. It's been Arkansas,
than Louisville. Most people think it's going to be Louisville or Alabama. What do you
I guess? I'll say Boise State. Who knows? Where do you think happens?
You know, it would be Louisville, I'm sure, would love to steal a guy from Kentucky.
So I think they probably are going to try to go all out after him,
and Alabama is going to be loaded next year.
They're going to be super good.
He shouldn't go to Alabama.
I think he's going to go to Louisville.
I think it'll be frustrating because I like the kid,
but I think he probably ends up in Louisville.
I don't think he goes to either one.
I'm not going to say Boise State.
I'll just say destination unknown,
because he does seem to change his mind a lot.
We'll Reed Shepard.
Where will he go?
Number three.
Yep, to the Houston Rockets.
That guy right there says number one.
I don't know about number one.
I'm going three to the Rockets.
Three.
I don't think either one of them.
The Spurs are taking one of them, definitely through there.
I think Reed goes third, then Rob's available at four.
I'm going to be a little bit of a contrary, and I think he's going to go like five, six, seven.
I think I do think he's going to go very high.
I think he'll drop.
I think Rob will go higher than him, but he'll end up going like five, six, or seven.
And then last thing, before I come back, will John Caliperi have said something that makes Big Blue Nation angry over the course?
of the last two months of the summer.
100%.
Yeah, I'm sure he will, because we're going to listen to everything that he says.
Let me put it a different way.
You can read into anything he says.
Will he do something that will objectively make everyone angry?
Yeah, he can't help himself.
I think he's absolutely, for the next two months, yes, he'll do something or say something.
I don't know, because I think he's going to get pretty quiet.
I mean, he's done his little tour.
He's done that a lot in the last few summers, except for the basketball football school.
He's kind of stayed quiet in the summer.
Remember last year, lasagna, we're moving in silence?
I don't think he'll...
He doesn't say that, yeah.
I think he knows how awkward it is, and he won't be in front of the cameras a lot, moving forward.
Do you see, they officially hired Brad as a coach?
Yeah, his roommate.
See, he will say something because he's going to get irritated living right next to that tin roof and loud music every night.
He's going to be crabby cow, and he's going to say something that's going to make fans, I'm sure, upset.
I think it's going to be really fascinating to watch, you know, what ends up happening with him if,
they don't like the thing to watch with him is are all he was set up to have here an
unbelievable class next year so like the 2025 kids he was set up to get don't you think like
five of the top 12 guys it was going to be it was going to be a lot like the class we just had in
terms of rankings it'll be interesting to see what happens if those guys don't want to go to
Arkansas, right? Like if they, because I think they were going to come here. If he does,
then I don't think he'll say a lot. But if he doesn't, it would be interesting to see what he
says, Ryan, in that context. I think we're all on the same page. Yeah, he's a guy that I, when he knows
things are going well, he's not afraid to pound his chest and to his own horn a little bit. I just
see that coming. So it'll be interesting to see. So those are our predictions. You could let us know
if you agree, 859-2-80-22-287. The text machine is 772-75-4. They're having to bring extra
chairs here for Somerset.
We'll take a break and be right back.

Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night bases on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the ball, like,
After you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
That's right.
Good music.
You know, Rick is in the studio.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Very psychedelic, Rick.
Are you on a psychedelic kick now?
Yeah, I'm in a psychedelic kind of state of mind.
today.
Oh,
well.
Too much wine
last night,
huh?
Nice.
I like it.
I appreciate it.
We are here at
Don Franklin.
Nissan and Somerset.
All right,
so I'm going to ask you a question.
I could have asked
before the show.
I'm just going to do it now.
This says they have
bad boy incentives.
That was the headline.
Which.
It's incentive to be a bad boy.
You just read that and you go,
all right,
bad boy side by side 7.9,
7.99 for 72 months.
What does that sentence mean?
It's bad boy.
Boy, is that a type of truck? What's a side-by-side? That's like a four-wheeler.
Yeah, that's not a vehicle, right? Oh, yeah, there they are. There they're sitting out there.
So is that like when Andy Griffith had the motor, Barney had the motorcycle with the side car?
No, no, no, it's not quite like that. It's kind of like if you can imagine a four-wheeler and you have like two seats.
So like a driver and a passenger. Okay. So that's what, all right. Well, anyway, 7.99 for 72 months with a bad boy side-by-side. 4.9.
for 84 months with a free rotary cutter.
All right, Shannon, what's a rotary cutter?
I believe it's a lawnmower.
So is it a lawnmower or is it an ATV?
No, no.
The side-by-side is an ATV.
The tractor with the free rotary cutter is like a lawnmower.
All right.
I think I'm right.
Am I wrong?
Nobody's shaking the head.
Nobody's correct to me.
Everybody's kind of like looking at you like you're not quite right.
They don't know either.
All right, well, fair enough.
Go to Don Franklinado and you'll learn
more about it.
Go to the website.
That's exactly right.
Before we get the phones.
I mean, it came out
right after we got off the air yesterday,
so we got to talk about the video
in the Scotty
Schephler case.
Doesn't really help Detective
Gillis very much.
You know, the thing to be fair,
the thing to remember is that video
is after the initial
meeting of the two. The bus
is blocking the car
when they actually initially see each other.
But the video doesn't help his case.
If anything, it hurts it.
Then you add to it that, like, I mean, for me, looking at the video,
the tell-tale thing is you look at the other cops.
Like, when you watch the video, to me, it's less about,
because you don't really see what happened in the video.
You do see the officer running afterwards and hitting the car and reaching it.
But to me, the most damning thing is there's,
four, three or four other cops there.
And this is just my take.
I think if three or four cops
saw a cop
being dragged or whatever,
they ain't going to be standing there calmly.
Right? I think they're going to be
running to help their, their
brethren out. And so
it does cast
as, you know, definitely
some questions about his story.
Then, I think a lot of people didn't see
this. Wave 3 TV
last night reported
Now, again, this is their report.
I don't know if they're right or not, but it's a news station.
I don't think they're just going to report it with nothing.
They reported that the officer wants to drop it.
They reported that the officer is wanting it basically to go away and drop it.
Probably in his best interest.
Without question.
I mean, like, it's probably almost certainly in his best interest.
And the report almost suggested he wants him to drop it and that the county attorney hasn't yet.
And he's like, just do it.
to get probably to say just to get people to leave me alone,
what do you think of all of it, right?
Yeah, the police officer, like Shannon said,
in his best interest, they did, you know,
got him in trouble for not starting his body cam.
You know, that was something he's already been in trouble for,
so I'm sure he's trying to save his own flight a little bit.
And they go through his history.
Yeah, that's out there now.
See, I mean, like, the history.
I mean, he apparently was suspended for a week
for picking up a drunk passenger
and going to the parking lot and doing donuts.
You got to wonder, was that the passenger's request?
Well, I mean, first of all, that's a scene out of Superbad, the movie.
Like, that is from Superbad.
That is, you make sure if he actually saw it and was like, let's go do it,
because that is in a movie, and he got written up for doing that and was out a week.
I can see why he wants it dropped, because it brought up his history.
I don't know about your all's social media,
but my whole Twitter all night is making fun of his $80 pants.
Like every account I follow is getting their jokes in about that video.
And that's why I think we all wish when it first happened, it's like, get this behind you as quickly as possible.
Now that the video's out, Louisville got mocked for an entire day yesterday.
And I think that's kind of the situation you want to avoid.
It's like, let's just get this over with.
People will forget and move on as long as you just quit dragging it out.
I think part of the problem is, like, there's, I think there's this belief out there amongst people that, like, people can just make stuff go away, right?
So right now, in a criminal proceeding, everything goes through a process, right?
So like, once he's arrested, then another process starts.
And then once he's ultimately arraigned, there will be another process starts.
So like, let's just use the officer Gillis.
At this moment, right now, he can't, like, someone else has to drop it too.
He can't do it on his own even if he wants to.
Similarly, people will see the mayor and go, why doesn't the mayor put a stop to this?
He can't either.
Even if he wants to, he can't.
Right now, it's in the county attorney's office.
Like, that's who has it right now.
And so the county attorney, who we saw show up and go, er, like it's in his office.
So even if everyone else involved, Schaeffler, the police officer, the mayor, the Commonwealth's attorney, the judge,
Even if everybody wants to do it, as of this moment, only one person can do it.
And just, again, I don't know all the details.
It feels like almost everybody else wants to get rid of it, but now this guy has it,
and you're just waiting right on him.
Yeah, you know, Romine said, hey, we're going to drop the charges or we're going to trial.
We're not settling with this.
And if you're the city, you're probably like, not only do you might want to go away,
you might be worried that Romance is going to start getting a,
upset and sue you.
Yeah.
And that ain't good.
So it's just like, as somebody who cares about the state and the city of Louisville,
Shannon, I just kind of wanted to go away.
Everybody is.
Everybody wants it to go away except for O'Connell, the prosecutor.
But you got O'Connell, this one prosecutor, like this county attorney who I think it's
important won't even be doing the case.
It would go to the Commonwealth's attorneys.
He won't even be the one to have to deal with it.
And it's now in his office, and it's just like, it just stinks.
Yeah.
It really does.
All right.
All right, we'll take a break and be right back.
We're here at Don Franklin Dyson and Somerset.
We're taking for a great.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.

And on my podcast, The Clivert Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.

We're in the middle of a game.

He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.

Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
What's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast, Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything
he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
man, he running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome back, Tegi Sports Radio, here live.
Don Franklin, Nissan.
Great crowd here in Somerset.
We got some free food for folks.
I want to give a big shout out to Ryan here.
So, you know, I told Ryan that while I was gone, one of the things I wanted him to do was kind of redecorate sort of update or memorabilia on KS. Bar.
You know, when you walk in, there's jerseys and pictures.
And I was like, while I'm gone, let's update it.
Put some new things on it, new pictures.
And he's already, we got a new picture of Mark Pope in there.
But we found out today, Drew, my guy got a signed Reed Shepherd jersey for the front door.
So well done to him so far.
I guess we can say he certainly understood that assignment.
That's an impressive get.
That's a good get to get right now before a top five pick, Shinn and his pick to get a signed jersey for the restaurant.
You couldn't get Dillingham?
What's wrong with you?
Come on, Ryan.
I'll tell the back story.
I contacted Jeff and I said, hey, we'd like a number 15 jersey with Reed signing, you sign it, and Stacey sign it.
He said, all we got is, all we got is Reed.
Jeff, we wanted all of you to sign it.
That's bad.
I'll take it.
I'll take it.
Right, I'll take it.
So thank you to them for that.
well done by him.
Shannon, when I saw this story, I knew you would care,
and then I noticed you tweeted it this morning.
Yeah.
Everyone saw the Wheel of Fortune video.
Wheel of Fortune after dark.
Yeah.
You know what?
Since my parents are on the way and I know they're listening,
we won't talk about what they said.
That was right off the top, though.
That was the first puzzle of the day.
It was a little bit dirty, though, for Wheel of Fortune at 7.30.
Yeah.
But here's what's interesting to me that I didn't.
didn't realize. In watching it, apparently Pat Sejack only has like a couple of weeks of shows left.
Yes, Ryan Sechrestech is going to be the new host. I don't know how I missed that. I didn't know
that is. But like, so Pat Sejack, like I think that's right. It's like two more weeks and then he's
done. Did you know that? Yeah, yeah, I did. I follow that. I follow game shows. I love Will of
Fortune. Of course, Price is Wright's the Goat. But Will of Fortune would be my second favorite. So yeah,
I knew that Ryan Seacrest, he's taking everybody's job, right?
Doesn't Ryan Sechrest already do everything?
Yeah.
Like what's left for him?
I just didn't know.
Pat Sejerk has been the host of Will of Fortune since 1983.
Wow.
No kidding.
He is going to have finished 41 years of hosting that stupid show where they don't even...
What an easy gig.
No.
It's the, that has to be the easiest gig.
Sorry, there's no S's.
Spend the Will.
Yeah.
How hard is that?
It has to be.
be the easiest gig of all time.
So it says here you like to go camping, huh?
Like, you know, they interview the people. Like, nobody cares who
they are. Just spin the will and shut up.
You know, nobody cares who they
are. I want Shannon to be the new host.
Maybe that's why they didn't hire you.
Maybe. The audition didn't go to well. You would just go
spin the wheel and shut up. Yeah, either by a vow or spin
the will. Or solve the puzzle. Are you all
like me, you're less likely to watch a game show
if it's a new host? Like, I won't watch the
Ryan's Secret's version.
Well, you guys, that's Jan and
You know what, Price is right after Dark was on last night.
And I can't get past Drew Carey being the host, and it's been 16 years.
Some years.
Well, some shows have survived.
Like, you know, Steve Harvey has made family.
He's made family feud.
It's probably better with him than it was, at least since the dude was making out with everybody on stage.
Richard Dawson, yeah.
So, but so, like, sometimes it works.
You just.
I don't know that Ryan Sechrest.
Again, you don't have to have a personality, though.
But Pat Sajack doesn't do anything.
It's true.
I don't know.
Is Jeopardy still as popular without Alex Trebek?
I don't watch it a lot, but it feels weird having Ken Jennings.
It just doesn't feel like Jeopardy to me.
Other people might disagree.
Well, anyway, I mean, if you haven't seen the video, the video is, it's one of the worst answers I've ever seen anybody give.
It almost makes me think he did it on purpose.
It didn't even fit the letters, right?
No, it didn't even fit the letters, and it certainly is not something that would have been on Wheel of Fortune.
But nevertheless.
It was interesting to hear that Sayjack's about to retire.
Who's up next?
Got Michael up next.
Michael, go ahead, Michael.
Hey, Matt.
I don't know how Ryan C. Chris can do it all.
I think you've got a clone somewhere, but, you know, he's in too many things.
But here's some news for you from Arkansas.
They have heard Brad Calipari as an assistant coach and on-court player development coach.
Yeah, we mentioned that earlier.
And so, but I want to tell you a story about the, I went to my son's graduation on the 11th at Arkansas,
and I parked in a parking lot across from Bill Walton or Bud Walton.
And a golf cart parked up behind me and out walked from the side door, Kenny Payne and DJ Wagner.
Yeah, and he was on his visit, but he still hasn't committed yet.
Well, that was my question to you, which was, why do you think he hasn't committed?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I would have thought, and I appreciate the call,
I would have thought that DJ Wagner would have been the first player
that would have committed to Arkansas.
I mean, that's a connection that goes back to his grandfather,
and then his father played there.
Like, I would have thought that would have been the first one.
Then it seemed like maybe he was trying to get away from it,
but then he ended up visiting.
So I don't know the answer.
I'm firmly on the view of,
If they have him, they'll be pretty good because I think he's going to be really good.
I think things did not really work out exactly right here, but I do think he's talented.
And by the end of the year, he was a pretty good shooter.
And he was pretty, you know, it got lost in the read, Rob and all that.
But like, by the end of the year, he was a pretty good player.
But if they don't get him, Drew, I actually don't think they're going to be very good.
and it will be weird for them not to be able to get that guy.
I think, to start, I think DJ is going to have a big jump from his first year to
I do too.
I think there's a little more to that injury last year.
And also, it had to have been weird looking over your shoulder,
knowing Reed and Rob are checking in four minutes every game.
Because Rupp would cheer so loud for reading Rob,
and even though it was a positive thing for them,
if you're DJ, every game you're checking out the same mark
and hearing the crowd cheers you're walking to the bench,
I think he's going to be great with a fresh start.
And I don't know what his stats were at the end of the year.
but I think he had some sneaky, really good games in the last 10 games or so,
and I just don't know that people totally process that.
And, you know, in that last game of the year against Oakland,
one of the things I kept saying all years,
we need DJ Wagner to be good because the thing that he could do,
which is get to the basket and score, you need that sometimes.
So I think if you look at Arkansas's roster, yes, they have John L. Davis.
But as of right now, their second and third best player would be the dude from Tennessee,
and a do the arrow.
Like, that's not that great a team,
but if you add DJ Wagner to that,
then I think it's a different thing.
If you're DJ maybe, and it's just guessing,
maybe he's looking at Boogie Flan and thinking,
you're the Cal freshman.
Am I going to do this?
Yeah.
Like, what has he told you?
How many minutes are you going to get?
Because it will be hard to play all three.
You'd be worried if I was him, I'd go,
I just went through this.
Yes.
Last year, I do I want to do it again.
Who's next?
Steph is up next.
Steph, go ahead, Steph.
Hey guys, good morning.
Good morning.
I wanted to say good luck to the baseball team.
Hope they do well.
I saw that catch.
That was incredible.
Oh, yeah, about McCarthy.
Yeah, that was great.
That was during the show yesterday.
Ended up being a massive catch.
By the way, the baseball team plays at 4 o'clock today.
For those of you wondering, the SEC bracket, it's very simple.
To win the tournament, we play today, tomorrow,
Sunday, win all three games, we're the SEC tournament champions. It basically is no longer double
elimination starting today. So win today, you play tomorrow, win tomorrow, you play for the
finals, and you just got to win all three. But go ahead. But anyway, Matt, I wanted to say,
have fun on your trip and be safe. I will. Thank you very much, Steph. I appreciate it. Also,
Also, I had a friend passed away last week and tonight's service.
So, yeah, it's going to be tough.
God bless you.
I'll pray for you and your friend, and I know that's going to be difficult,
but good luck with it, okay?
Yeah, okay.
Thank you.
All right, there you go big blue.
Go big blue.
Let me ask you about the baseball team.
Tonight they play South Carolina,
a team they just played a couple weeks ago.
You know, we talked about it.
was weird. They didn't start one of their good starters in game one, but now they still have
two of their best starters for the next two days. Let's say you're the manager. You got two
good starters. You're going to have to win three games. You pitch one of them tonight?
I think you got to. I think you got a pitching tonight. I was kind of one of those guys. It wasn't
for sure why Mingeone started the guy he did on the game one. Now I see the strategy behind it
with the way the tournament is like them. I mean, single elimination starting today. So yeah,
I think they've got their Saturday starter. They could go today. They can throw their Sunday
tomorrow and then you just go to the championship and just like a hodgepodge whatever's left
johnny holstaff as we used to call it so yeah you got to win this call it what as our coach
used to call it johnny holstaff i mean everybody all the pitching staff was going to
clever that with johnny the whole staff got to be ready to go so yeah you got to win today
otherwise saturday sunday doesn't matter so i think you got to throw your ace today yeah i think
we might see some mason more today uh the bats were hot after they had one hit against um lSU in that
first game. I liked yesterday afterwards,
Waldschmidt, who had two home runs,
said that Nick Mingeone pulled out
the Buster Douglas analogy before the game
going against Arkansas's top ten
picks, so a little motivation there that he pulled
out. By the way, did you all see the
video with
Mingeon and the interview that he
did yesterday? Actually, I
want to play it if we do.
Rick, why don't you,
during the break, there's a video
I did on Twitter, or I have it, of
Mingion talking. Will you set that up to
play next segment for me? Yes, I will.
All right, so I want you to hear this because this was, I thought, it's about a minute,
minute and a half with Alyssa Lang, who will be hosting one of the days I'm gone.
You need to hear it because it's what I think everybody really likes about Mingio.
You should stop overpaying for sunglasses, Ryan.
We're back to AdReed today.
There's no game.
Yeah, no game.
So that means don't buy expensive sunglasses because if you lose or break them, they're gone.
And what if they get really dirty?
What are you going to do?
Well, Shady Ray's the independent American-owned company right here in
Kentucky, you can pass their location on the way to Louisville, premium polarized shades.
You can buy two or more pairs.
You get 50% off.
But more importantly, if you lose or break them, they will just replace them.
It's a crazy deal.
I don't know how they do it, but they do.
I wear them.
Shewen, Drew, my mom, like everybody has them.
Use a code KSR for 50% off, two or more pairs, shady raise.
We'll take a break.
We'll be right back here in Somerset.

The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals

We're back, Tegi Sports Radio here live at Don Franklin, Nissan in Somerset.
summer's absolutely beautiful day here in somerset you know i say this every time we come here i'm not sure
outside of that little corridor between lexington and e town like you know bardstown e town that kind of
group i'm not sure there's a part of the state that consistently grows more than somerset i mean if you
think about what this looked like when we came and started coming here to now uh you know almost
everything named for hal rogers who's who's a miraculous
still in office after all of these years.
Every time we come here, there's a new Don Franklin.
It does feel like Don Franklin just takes everybody out everywhere they go.
But nice to be here.
One person writes, Matt, yesterday was an absolute train wreck of a show technologically,
and for some reason I thought it was entertaining.
I'm mad you didn't put all the problems on podcast.
We could have.
I told Shannon, let's just cut all that out because yesterday was very frustrating.
Here's the good part of it.
It was so bad.
that I actually think it motivated people to make a lot of change.
We had the regional engineer for like this part of the country start to get involved.
And so I do think that actually pretty soon, but certainly by the time I get back,
I think it's going to be a setup to where at least when we're at the bar,
we won't have the problems that we've had some recently.
Yeah, Spectrum was there within hours after the show trying to work on it.
We've got engineers coming today.
I think we're going to put like a satellite.
I give him credit.
I do give them credit for that.
There was a part of me going,
what else do we have to do?
The issue is when the Internet goes out, we have a problem.
Because we have, and this happens,
you know, this happens when we do schools.
Yeah.
If you have a, these modern buildings now have metal roofs,
and it hurts cell phone coverage.
And so like, KSpar has a metal roof,
so that makes a problem.
And so, like, that's ultimately,
but there were still a lot of issues.
but hopefully it will be fixed when I return.
I'm excited about the satellite.
Will there be days where Ryan has to climb on the roof
and turn it to the left a little bit
to make sure we're getting our gas signal?
I think he's going to have to.
Whatever it takes.
One person writes, Matt, I live in Italy.
Will you be coming through my town
and will you be doing a show?
On vacation?
Maybe I will come through your town.
I'm not going to be doing a show.
But I'm looking forward.
I'm hoping at some point to just randomly run into at least one UK.
Oh, you will.
You will, no doubt.
Are you going to kind of do a little journal or a little log of?
Yeah, I am.
I am posted where you are.
I mean, I'm going to, I have my ticket to where I'm landing, which is Rome.
And then I have my first location after that, but then otherwise I'm just going to do it randomly.
That would be fun.
Yeah, but that's what I like.
It's like, you know, when I do my vacations in the States, I just get in my car and drive places.
And you have a car, and it's not a stick.
I have a car for the first little part.
The first little part, I'm in a place where I'm going to need a car.
But for the most part, I'm buying, they call them a your rail pass.
Your rail pass.
So, like, you can just, it's for two months, and you can just get on any train and go anywhere.
And you're fine.
That can be dangerous.
No telling them where you're going to end up.
What?
Let's just jump on that train.
No, no, I'm not going to, like, I'm not just going to walk on and not know where it goes.
It's not a blind.
I'm just saying, like, you can, like, you know, unlike America, Europe, with the exception of one or two countries, is connected by train very well.
So you really don't need a car unless you're in a handful of places.
But I'm going to be in one of those places, so I have to get a car there.
Is there one thing, though, you want to make sure you do or see before you come back?
Like, you got something for sure you want, okay, I want to do this.
I have like two set plans.
One is to go to some of the European soccer championships.
So they're in Germany, middle of June to middle of July.
And I just want to go for the atmosphere to some of that because those people lose their minds
about it.
And then I'm going for a week to Spain because hubby and his wife are coming and I'm meeting
them there.
But otherwise, yeah, I mean, I'm just going to kind of do whatever.
May go visit.
Where's our guy from, the player?
Kerr.
Estonia?
No, Estonia.
He's from Estonia.
That's right.
Speaking of that, the video yesterday I thought was very cool of the comedian Nate Bargotsie
visiting the UK basketball facilities while Kerr Kleisa was on his visit.
And Mark Pope introduces him to Nate Bargazzi by saying, this is Kirk Lisa.
He's one of our recruits.
He's coming here.
And he looks at him and goes, yeah, he's a guy that everyone at Kentucky will like and every other fan base will hate.
He says at himself.
He just looks at that guy.
He goes, am I wrong?
And the kid was like, yes, you're right.
That's just the vibe he puts off, I guess, immediately, right?
It's just an interesting thing to say.
You put out a vibe where everyone's going to hate you but us, so I thought that was funny.
Well, we've said all along from day one, he's going to be Shannon's favorite player.
A guy's going to come off the bench and get right in somebody's face, start talking smack from the second he steps on the floor.
Oh, he's going to be our Marshall Henderson.
He is going to be our Marshall Henderson, Matt Walsh, Ron Slade, Yom Kim Noah.
Like, I mean, I don't know if he's going to be as good as those guys, but he's going to be.
going to have that vibe, no doubt.
All right, you got the Nick Mingeon clip.
This is Alyssa Lang.
The beginning of the clip is a UK baseball player talking about Mingeyone and then his reaction
to it.
Go ahead.
Oh, man, it's awesome.
There's nobody in the country that cares more about you.
He wants the best for you.
He wants the best for the team.
And, I mean, he's the best coach I think I've ever had in my life.
Oh, we were teasing up here.
What does that mean to hear that for you?
It means a lot.
when Kristen and I made a decision that we were going to come here and be the head coach,
she came with me and she stopped working.
And we just decided that we were going to do everything we can for these guys.
And to be a head coach, there's a lot that goes into it, especially at this level.
And, you know, we want to love on them.
We want to hold them accountable.
We want to challenge them.
We want to push them to do things they've never, ever thought they could do before.
and when you have an opportunity to make an impact on their lives,
and maybe just not for eternity.
It's a position that we don't hold lightly.
And, you know, people entrust us with God's greatest gift to them, their children.
And when they give you them, and they're like, hey, we have,
and have we been perfect by no means?
We have not.
But my wife and I and the rest of the coaches, we do do everything we can to pour into them
to the best of our ability.
And to hear them said out, it just means a lot.
I think it's an amazing story.
This is a guy two years ago, Ryan, that at the end of the season, right at this time,
we had a conversation, we were like, yeah, maybe they should make a change, I don't know.
And now they're going to be potentially the number one seat in the NCAA tournament.
It's a crazy.
On the hot seat, he makes a bold move to go after all transfer guys, graduate transfer guys,
and they just molded them and won now for the second year in a row.
He's doing it.
He kind of was ahead of the curve on the portal,
sort of hit it before everybody else, and it worked for him.
Yeah, that was a portal guy to talk about him.
That was a Waldi who hit two home runs yesterday,
but he's one of many who have interviews out there
where they just speak so highly of Mentione how he runs that clubhouse.
Well, maybe they win the SEC tournament.
Who knows?
I mean, it can be exciting.
We're going to take a break.
Come back.
Hour number two.
We are here at Don Franklin, Nissan.
In Somerset, this is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
Not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
