Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
A rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now, here's Matt Jones.
All right, welcome back.
This is Hour Number 2, Kentucky Sports Radio.
Ryan Lemon, Drew Franklin, Shannon, the dude, joined by Billy R. Sports.
During the break, we had a bunch of people contact us that they've played single, and it's awesome.
It's a lot of fun.
We're going to have it here once in June, once in July.
We have to schedule more events.
It's going to be that successful.
Shannon, you said you've played it.
Yeah, it's a lot of fun.
The thing is, though, sometimes if you don't know the song,
you'll see people cheat with their phone.
They'll pull out, you know, like Shazam or they'll ask their phone what the song is.
So I don't know if that's considered cheating in Singo or not.
I don't know.
They better not be doing that tonight.
I'll be throwing my chips and salsa at them.
Like in Bingo, you don't have to guess what it is, right?
they tell you like I-12 or whatever it is.
But I guess that's part of the fun.
You have to guess the song to see if it's on your card.
You have to know your music, I guess, to win.
We've been doing homework assignments in our first segment of the 11 o'clock hour so far.
And Drew gave us a homework assignment for last night.
Drew?
Yes.
Well, the SEC meetings are going on in Destin.
Are you all aware?
Yes, yes.
Keep up with the SEC meetings?
I saw Mark Pope on with Paul.
Fine bomb.
Mark who?
Mark Poop was on with Paul, Feimbaum.
How about that Fimbom set?
Let's hang a left right here real quick.
Why don't we do shows on the beach?
Amen.
I don't even like to watch Fimbom, and once I turn it on your side, I couldn't turn it off just because of the backdrop.
The Destin Beach is right behind him.
Next year we're going to the SEC.
Okay.
And you think our equipment's going to hold up with that?
We'll worry about that later.
We can barely do it in the studio sometimes.
Billy, you're the GM now.
Next year during Matt's three-month vacation.
Can you get us set up at the SEC?
spring meetings?
We can get set up.
It's just a matter if the equipment works or not.
If Fibon can do it, we can do it.
We can make a little escapade down there, sure.
Well, I had to express that jealousy in Fimbabom, but that's going on now.
You have all the coaches, all the A-Ds, their families.
If you're in Destin, they're just SEC people walking around everywhere,
which led me to bring up the question, if you had a little boat,
you're a little pontoon boat captain.
Yes.
And you're doing the little what I got down there.
Crab Island?
A little Crab Island tours.
I love being on a pontoon.
All right.
You are assigned the SEC.
You get four coaches.
Who's on your boat?
We'll do two football, two basketball.
It's just you, them, and the open water all day and destined until they go back to meetings that night.
They're going to be maybe having a few cocktails.
Probably complaining about the league, complaining about other coaches.
Just you and four coaches, two football, two basketball, out roaming around Crab Island on your pontoon,
Who you take it?
I know who mine are, and my three of mine were like obvious right off the bat.
I'm taking for basketball, my first pick in the pontoon draft, Bruce Pearl.
That's a good pick.
He is my first SEC basketball coach pick.
We know he's a little crazy, a little wild, he'll have a good time.
I'm taking Bruce Pearl.
My first football coach in the pontoon draft, Mark Stoops.
You go down to Jeff Rubies.
You know Mark Stoops.
He's a party guy.
I think he'd be a lot of fun on the pontoon boat.
There's no doubt about it.
My second pick, football, Lane Kiffin.
I think another guy that's going to have a lot of fun on a pontoon.
Heavy favorite.
I think he was born on a pontoon.
I think he probably was too.
He looks like, yeah, Mr. Pontoon.
So those are my three easy ones.
And then I make the fourth.
So I need a fifth.
My second basketball coach, I'm going to surprise you.
I'm going to pick Mark Pope because we need a driver.
Somebody's got to drive the boat.
somebody's got to drive us home.
Mark Pope, very responsible, very mature.
I'm taking Mark Pope.
Those are my boat.
I like the assignment is you have a boat company where you drive the coaches
and you have already tossed Mark Pope the keys.
Yes.
I know you're here visiting.
Yes.
But you are going to be me for the day and I'm just going to hang out.
I'm having a good time with Bruce Pearl, Mark Stoops, and Lane Kiffin.
Here, Mark. Drive his home.
That's a pretty good group.
That's thinking ahead giving him the keys.
Yes, sir.
We have a lot of similarities.
Buckle up, put your phone down.
I had Lane Kiffin for the same reason.
Yeah.
My man, if we have any boat issues, Lane's got it.
He's been on a boat.
Last year at SEC Media Days in Nashville, when he walked on that stage,
and that's a big deal, you know, they're showing on TV.
He looked like he had stepped off a dock onto that stage.
His shirt was like halfway buttoned up.
He was as tan as he's ever been.
Hair was all messed up.
Lane Kiffin, big boat guy.
He's on my boat.
I also had Stoops.
Just feel like Stoops's a good time.
I do, too.
I could maybe supplies.
He could probably have bourbon.
I didn't have stoop at first, just because he's been here so long.
We're pretty familiar.
I feel like this would be a good opportunity to get to know some other people in the league.
Maybe an opportunity to take Shane Beamer out there and leave him.
I don't know, but ultimately, I have Stoops and Lane Kiffin as my football coaches.
I feel like I'm just following you.
We didn't discuss this before, but you got to have Bruce Pearl.
I think so.
Shirt's already off, ready to go.
When he had to cook out at Tennessee, maybe he can handle the football.
food for our boat. That's true. And I gave you a hard time. I was kind of thinking about Pope as well,
but we can't go complete four for four, right? Yeah. So you got to pick another basketball.
I never go Buzz Williams. He's a weird dude, but I might be tired of him after 30 minutes.
I think I would give him a chance in that group. Okay. Before you answer your question. But hold on,
we have Kiffin, uh, stoops and Pearl and Pearl. We're getting pretty rowdy. Yeah.
Maybe I do need some God on there with Pope. I'll say Buzz Williams to be
different.
Okay, before you answer, Billy,
yeah.
We were talking with Tom Hart at the SEC basketball tournament
while Texas A&M and Buzz Williams
were practicing on the court.
We should also note we were not supposed to be out there.
Yeah, that's right.
You know, you act like you belong and you walk right on the court.
That's how I get everywhere.
So Texas A&M was practicing.
They got the shoot around.
We're talking to Tom Hart, and Buzz Williams is there,
and I said to Tom Hart, I said, I really like Buzz Williams.
I think he's a good guy.
Tom kind of looked at me like, be careful what you wish for.
Like almost like, the guy can, he's got some weird.
He's a talker.
He's a worker.
He's a wear he out.
Yeah, I wear you out a little bit.
If you hear him do an interview, he did a long move, pardon my take, he's done others.
They can be entertaining, but you can see where he could be a lot on a boat.
Yeah.
All right, Billy, go ahead.
I'll tell you who's not going to be on the boat, and that's Beamer and Drinkowitz.
I mean, I don't know if I could spend an extended amount of time with those guys.
True.
But, you know, talking seriously if we're going to go football coaches, you know, I think that Sam Pittman might be somebody that would be interesting.
I think he's got some stories.
He can have a good time.
and then my pick was Lane Kiffin, obviously.
I think, like you guys said, he was born on a boat.
I mean, he did it this year at the meetings.
He was, like, wearing joggers and some sneakers.
I mean, he just comes in, and I think he relates to a lot of kids that way.
So he might be able to spill the tea on the boat a little more than maybe the other coaches would.
I would have done Sam Pittman if I could have had a third football coach.
I bet Sam Pittman can have some fun.
I think he can definitely hold his own.
I wanted Jimbo, but obviously we just missed him.
I think he'd have been good one.
Uh, basketball wise, stole my thunder.
I wanted buzz.
Just for the fact that if he was going to wear his three-piece suit on the boat,
didn't know if you'd have the vest on or off on a voyage like that.
It's a weird tan line with that vest.
I'd love to have a little buzz.
And then I'm going to go Caliperi for my basketball.
Oh, that's...
Bringing John along.
I know he doesn't do any weed eating, but I'd like to see if he can handle a fishing run.
What does he know how to do out there?
And hopefully he'd tell us a story.
I was going to say, give a chance to talk to him and...
Yeah, absolutely.
Find out some stuff.
There's no crying on the yacht.
So if you're on the boat with them, no crying.
Shannon, who you got?
On the basketball side, of course, we're going Mark Pope.
But I'm also throwing John Calipari on there because I want Pope and Cal to be on that boat.
They pretend to like each other.
But I think secretly they really don't deep down inside.
So I think there may be a little awkwardness.
Maybe, you know, they get into an argument and we rock the boat, you know,
get things a little awkward between those two, see if they really like each other.
I think we'd find out in the middle of the,
the lake. On the football side, I think you've got to have stoops on there. He's our guy, right?
Now, what about, can we do assistant coaches or does it have to be head coaches?
If you can do it, everyone, it's your boat. Yeah.
Well, I was going to put the big dog on there.
Yeah, that's a good one.
But we're going head coaches. I'm going to put Eli Drinkwitz and Shane Beamer on there so I can throw those two off the boat.
All right? So there's my five.
I do like Vince is a pick, and we can pick assistant coaches also.
Oh, he'd be fun to hang out with.
It seems Beamer is on the, we do not want him on our boat.
Beamer's leading that.
Well, I don't want to film TikToks while I'm out on sea.
I feel like the new Alabama coach would be a tryhard too.
Wouldn't want him either.
It seems like there are a lot of coaches basketball and football
that seem to be boring.
Like you don't want to spend your day on a pontoon with these guys.
And on a serious note, it is crazy.
They're all in just one hotel solving the SEC's problems this week.
This is a big year for those meetings,
especially with all the uncertainty of football.
head and NIL.
We're going next year.
Yeah, Billy's set it up.
On Matt's four-month vacation, we're going.
Now, what was the thing that Mark Stoop said about the injury report that kind of raised
some eyebrows down there yesterday?
Mouse turd?
Mark said he's fine with an injury report coming to college football because he has no
problem being transparent with injuries.
He said he's very forthcoming.
Very forthcoming.
I think many people who attend his press conferences might disagree.
Might disagree with that?
But maybe he's had a change of heart.
That's what he said yesterday.
He's open to injury reports.
I can remember times that he wasn't as open to injury reports in years past,
but now I guess he's open to it.
Well, we've seen over the years that they are,
they do keep the injuries hush, hush.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I think they've gone out of their way to be very hushed up.
Yes, which is why that comment got a little bit of the giggle.
And we've had to kind of read through the weeds on a lot of things
that are happening with our
sometimes our star players, whether they're going to play or not
even the next game.
Yeah, but I mean, that is something they're talking about.
I guess with gambling, NIL, everything's changing.
You want to, you know, be forthcoming with who's playing and who's not.
The integrity of the sport, right?
Is that what it is?
Yeah.
You know, when Rich Brooks was here, he would start every news conference,
every one, by reading the injury report, because he came from the NFL.
It's an NFL thing.
It's an NFL thing.
He'd have it on his little piece of paper.
Oh, Billy Rutley.
pulled hamstring, Drew Franklin, pulled big toe, or whatever it would be.
He would read it through.
I missed those days because then he was completely transparent because Coach Cal and Coach Stoops
maybe have not been as transparent as we would like at times.
And we all want transparency no matter this sport, but in defense of Stoops,
what's the benefit of giving your injury report if you don't have to?
I can see Stoops.
You know, you don't want to tip off the opponent by any means.
I'd be the same way.
I wouldn't tell anyone anything.
I probably would be the same way, too.
him. It's just being on the other end, I don't know that he's always transparent. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it.
How many times we heard on the basketball side? Haven't seen them. Yeah, way too many, which we know is ridiculous.
All right, 859-280-2287. We'll take our break, come back, take some phone calls. Drew's got a winning KSR parlay for us tonight on Draft Kings. All that coming up and more here on Kentucky Sports Radio.

You haven't heard all the songs yet, though.
Okay.
This is the leader in the clubhouse right now.
for the podcast listeners, Pontoon, Little Big Town.
There we go.
Yeah, thank you very much.
A Vision Glass Tech Machine.
I got a couple.
We've got to read them.
We got out of the phone on.
We've got some people on the phone here.
Can we pick former coaches to go on the boat?
If so, I would definitely go with Ed or Geron.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
He knows that's a good one.
How about this one?
If not SEC coaches, Rick Patino on the boat because he'll bring the entertainment.
I want no part of that entertainment that he'd be bringing.
Billy brought up a goodwin Jim McElwain, who famously was hugging that shark, the big fish on the back of the boat.
Doppelgang.
Jimmy John.
I think that ended up being the Jimmy John.
859-2802-287.
That's our phone numbers.
Let's go back to the phone lines.
Who we got, Shannon.
Dan.
Dan, go ahead, Dan.
Hey, guys.
I got a couple of questions.
Did we lose Dan?
No.
Just talk, Dan.
Go.
Ask the questions.
Oh, okay.
Look, I had a friend that told me that,
A few years ago, if their daughter was pulled over with a couple other college kids,
and that that officer was the same officer, it was in Lexington, it was the same officer that arrested Sheffley and just said that he was a slees bag.
And second question is, the NILD.
Just the story.
Is this Dan from Rocky Mount?
Yeah.
Yeah, this is fake Dan from Rocky Mountain who lives in Lexington.
All right.
How are you feeling now, man?
Dan,
man, I believe it or not, Dan, I had a piece of cancer taken out three weeks ago,
and I just got finished with a job just now.
Good for you.
I'm cancer clear right now.
Good for you, brother.
I'm proud of you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I got one more question.
All right.
Now, look, the, you know, these guys in the portal, are they making, like, like, let's say that Joe Blow over here is getting four million.
Is Pope going to say, look, we'll give you $5 million or what are they doing?
I appreciate, Dan.
I mean, they're negotiating just like anybody else would negotiate,
trying to get their best deal.
You know, some of these guys, the reports are getting up to a million dollars
for the good players now.
So, yeah, they are.
They're negotiating just like you and I would.
They got a budget, and they got to buy within getting that budget.
Yeah.
There's been some that, I mean, there's like a great Ossebor guy they wanted,
but his price tag got too high.
He's the guy, like they say, a million dollars, right?
And there's probably been more of those where you want a guy
and you have a conversation with him,
and you're like, well, we just don't have that in the pot
and then be able to take care of everyone else.
So that's how this job's gotten so much harder,
and I think they need to add general managers.
You can't expect all these basketball coaches
that they're specialties X and O's to then get into who I'm going to pay
half a million, who I'm going to pay a billion.
We're going to have to get some GMs and people that have to get contracts.
You have to get all this organized very soon,
which is what they're working on, but what it is right now can't keep going on.
And the kids are expecting money.
They are.
And then you have to determine what the coach's recruiting philosophy is.
I mean, remember Cal at Kentucky was you don't come to Kentucky for NIL money.
You come here to go to the NBA, and that tune has changed a little bit since now that we have the chicken guy given, and Jerry Jones, matching any Kentucky recruits offers.
Matching in doubling.
In doubling.
A lot of times, yeah.
So, you know, I guess you kind of see what you can get from Team A, and then you go to Team B and say, can you match that or do better.
Cal did say yesterday he's got a new formula at Arkansas.
Oh, did he tweaked it?
The formula he wouldn't have here, but he has his formula.
Tweaked his formula?
About needing the point, not just doing freshmen.
Even though a couple months ago, why he was still at the coach of Kentucky, he was asked about it.
He said he's not changing.
Yesterday, he's changed the formula at Arkansas to include more portal.
859-2-287.
Who's next, Shannon?
Nick.
Nick, go ahead, Nick.
Yes, sir.
I have three quick questions for you guys.
I missed the first half of the show,
and I was wanting to ask about Jackson Robinson.
If there was any update on that?
Nothing.
Nothing at all.
Nope.
Let us know if you found something out.
I wish I did know.
The second thing is,
what position do you think is the weakest
this upcoming year for football?
Okay, go ahead.
What's your third one? We'll think about that.
Third one is I'm trying to find the KSR app on my phone.
My buddy has it, and I can't find it nowhere on my application store.
so I'm trying to locate.
Help him, Drew.
All right, it's the old KSR app doesn't exist anymore.
I mean, if you have it, it still functions a little bit,
but we have no control over that.
So the On3 app is what you need.
And when you're in there, you can pick Kentucky as your favorite team,
make the icon KSR.
It'll set you up as the new KSR app.
But it's the On3 app in the store.
Well, thank you for that.
I appreciate that.
No problem.
The old app, a little buggy.
I think people still use it.
It works when it works.
It doesn't work when it doesn't work.
We've kind of cut ties with that.
It still exists, but anything new and all new features and things we know are working are on the on three.
So this question is the weakest area of the UK football team.
And like I said yesterday, this may be one of Stoop's top teams he's had, top two or three teams overall.
There's not a lot of weak spots.
Do you see one that kind of sticks out to you?
I mean, the running back room is a lot of new names.
I'm not going to call it weak because you have high expectations.
It's just uncertainty there.
What do you think of the wide receiver room?
I think they're going to be right.
I think the wide receiver may be the best room in all of college football.
Defensively, I guess, defensive line, I'm wondering how full speed we're going to be
and how many bodies they're going to have.
I mean, we think of Dionne Walker as this, I mean, he is this otherworldly talent that will be drafted a year from now.
But I think around him, big year from Oxford, depth and being healthy might be an issue on the
I also think there's an urgency with the secondary to play better than they did last year.
I mean, the Clemson game sticks in your mind.
I'll defer to Drew about the personnel on the secondary this year.
But, I mean, Brad White has done a lot with a little over the last years that he's been at Kentucky
and, you know, has had a lot of success and put guys in the NFL.
So I think they're probably going to look to replicate that.
Yeah, you got some returning safeties.
Then you have Max Harrison, another, some star power there.
But kind of like I said, with Dion and that part of that unit,
depth will be a concern.
There'll be new names coming up playing corner.
Some guys that played a little bit last year,
but you have to step up and replace Andrew Phillips opposite Harrison.
Shannon, we got another caller.
Let's go to Casey.
Go ahead, Casey.
Hey, good morning, fellas.
So I'm coming tomorrow to the bar to the free party
and then going to the game tomorrow.
Great.
So I haven't been to Kentucky Proud Park before.
So I was wondering if I had any tips for that.
and then who should I be looking at for on our team?
I honestly haven't followed as closely as I probably should
because all the other sports going on.
So who do we love?
Who should I make a sign for?
Something like that.
Like who do we,
what's a good preview for the game tomorrow?
Thank you guys so much.
Thank you, Casey.
Appreciate that.
I've said already this week,
Ryan Walden Smith,
the left fielder is my favorite player.
Waldschmidt.
Walt Schmidt.
You gave him an extra syllable.
Sorry, Walden Schmidt,
Walt Schmidt.
He's Ryan, he leads off, he plays left field.
That's my guy right there.
It's best of you.
When I look at him, I'm like, that is a young Ryan.
Keith Madison was bragging about Grant Smith yesterday, the shortstop.
He's the best shortstop in all of college baseball right now.
So Devin Burke's the catcher is kind of the one that's been on the UKFCU commercials.
He's got the personnel.
Well, they all have personality, but he probably leads the team in personality.
Yeah, who else do you guys like?
And talking trash.
Well, Berks and Mason Moore and a few others were big parts of the team last year.
Yeah.
They had the run.
Ryan Nicholson's from St.
The first baseman, who's had a great season.
KSR caller, Nolan McCarthy.
Norm McCarthy was on the show.
I love him.
Had the robbed someone of a homerner.
I forgot which game was in the SEC.
But amazing play out there.
But even with Madison and Keith Madison and Daniel Hager,
we didn't even really say much about Nick Lopez,
who was first team all SEC and has the best mustache in college baseball.
It is straight out of porn TV, this mustache.
That's what you were with?
Yeah.
I was going to go maybe like Raleigh Fingers.
Yeah.
No.
You can stick with baseball?
70s baseball pictures.
No.
It's the porn mustache.
Straight to Puggy Nights.
Yeah.
It's like the Shannon mustache that he had there for a while.
That wasn't a porn stash.
That was a nice, nice Ron Burgundy-like mustache that I had.
It was awful.
You're jealous.
Now we know Casey's going to remember Nick Lopez for connecting him.
Nick Lopez is a good call.
I think if I'm making a sign, it's for Devin Burks.
That guy was so good last year.
It's been a little up and down this year, but got a lot of personality behind the plate.
I think it comes down to pitching.
We've seen this bullpen struggle.
a little bit at times this year.
So we'll see how they do, but it should be a good crowd on Friday, no doubt.
The kids love Birx.
I said by the dugout at one of the regular season games, just right there on the corner.
And they're up waiting for him to come out.
He's a high-fiving them.
All of them are good with the kids and popular having fun, but he seems to be the leader of the bunch.
You know, we need to say, you know, we were trying to get Coach Mingeon on today and maybe even a player,
but they're all focused.
Like, there were no player interviews after yesterday.
Coach Midgeeone had stuff he had to do today with meetings and TV stuff going on.
So that's why we didn't get them on today.
They were a little busy.
They got business to take care of this weekend.
We understand this is the NCAA tournament.
You know when we go to basketball, how organized it is and things like that.
So, I mean, you can't just pull them aside and say, talk to us.
They're busy and focused, and we're the clutter.
We're the distractions.
We don't want to bother.
SCC coach of the year could be NCAA coach of the year.
I mean, that path is open for them to go to Omaha, ladies gentlemen.
So just hang on for the ride.
This could be a good summer for UK baseball.
We need to, did you give our Kentucky,
our Kentucky branded tweet of the day.
We want to do the parlay next segment.
Yeah, Kentucky branded.
So many things.
Tweet of the day.
You've got the winner.
Yes, it was fake David Beckham.
At fake Beck's KSR.
We're familiar with him.
He wanted his pontoon at the SEC meetings to be as awkward as possible.
So he wanted Mark Pope, John Caliperi, and Mark Stoops.
That's weird.
but then he wanted Lane Kiffin as the fourth one
because he would intentionally poke fun at the other three.
Lane Kiffin's been unanimous for all of us.
Kiffin's a troll.
He's got to be there.
I don't have Kiffin on mine.
Oh, you didn't have Kiffin on yours, that's right.
No.
Yeah.
But yeah, that would be kind of awkward with Cal, Pope, and stoops.
And Kiffin throwing things out while they're talking in the back of the boat.
All right.
We've teased it all show.
The winning KSR parley is going to come up.
Too much pressure.
Dude, you're hot.
You're on fire.
It's just another one.
It's just another one.
It's the next one up.

We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.

All right, welcome back. Ryan, and Drew Franklin, Shannon, the dude, and Billy R. Sports here on this Thursday edition of Kentucky Sports Radio.
As UK baseball gets ready to invade Kentucky Proud Park for the NCAA region, or hosting the region.
First game is at noon tomorrow. We're going to do our show here, like a pregame show, with the doors opening early.
We want to open at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.
clock, maybe some breakfast
barbecue, maybe breakfast beer.
Come and tailgate, pregame, and then you can go to the game
first pitch at noon, but we'll be having a watch
party here at noon as well. Make it last all day,
and then if they win, let's just
have an after park. There we go. Run it back into
Saturday. Come back and celebrate here at KS. Bar and Grill.
If they win, they play Saturday at 6,
we'll do it all again. Shannon,

com promo code KSR. It's going to save you 30% off your first order, cornbread hemp.
Now there is no more sure bet in the world.
Okay. No, we're not doing that. We're not doing that. We're not doing.
doing that.
KSR parlay.
We're not doing that.
We have a parlay.
And you're hot.
You're on fire.
We are hot.
We're not going to put too much pressure on them.
Very superstitious about gambling.
And we start doing.
And it's for entertainment purposes only.
That's true.
That's true.
I'm confident.
I just don't want to.
So this is a KSR parlay for tonight.
For tonight.
We have done very well in the NBA.
In fact, we've only missed one parlay in the NBA playoffs.
See, Billy, he's on fire.
And we missed it by a half a point.
No, we're heating up.
We've hit two in a row.
This is to be on fire.
This is to hit the trifecta.
So tonight, 8.30, game 5.
Yes.
Minnesota, Dallas.
Yes.
Do you want to tell me what you think about the game before I reveal what we are doing as a family?
If I was betting tonight, I would bet the over.
I bet over every game, and I would probably bet the Mavs.
Well, Ryan Lemon, it seems we were on the same page.
Yeah.
Because the Dallas Mavericks are getting five points,
and I've watched every minute of this series.
It's been a close game every game.
It should have never been near a sweep the other night.
So if you're giving me five, I'm taking that five with Dallas and hoping we have a close game.
So we're on the same page there.
All right, do it.
You like the over?
Over is hit like on eight of the nine games in the playoffs, the championship series, something like that.
Oh, yeah, the other series, too.
But this one, three of four.
We're on the over again.
It's 209.
It was 207 in the first parlay we hit.
A couple more points.
We got that.
Hit it.
Now, because it's parlay, we had to add a few more legs.
Okay.
It's a long shot.
What else you got?
I think Carl found a little something.
Yeah.
He was, frankly, terrible for a few games.
He was three for 21 from three.
But then last game, he went four or five, hit some big ones at the end.
So tonight, we only need him to make two threes.
Oh, I like that.
Two threes.
That's all we need.
He's got that.
So that Carl's got two?
Underwinner's one and a half?
Well, I did say one and over a hundred just says, well, Carl, we'll make two.
Oh, I see.
We'll call it that.
Yes.
I mean, it'll read differently on the app.
I like everything so far.
The fourth leg, it's a four-legger.
I want to keep it with the cats.
PJ Washington, all he needs is 10 points.
Got it.
Here's my logic.
We like the Mavs to stay in it.
Yeah.
He plays for the Mavs.
We like the over.
We're going to need lots of points to get that over.
We just need 10 from PJ.
Yes.
So there's our parlor.
I love it.
So to reiterate Mavs plus 5.
Yeah.
Over 2.9.
2.9.
Excuse me.
PJ 10 points.
Carl 2-3s.
Go cats.
Go Mavs.
This could be three in a row.
And if this one hits, we're now in the green.
All the losses have been canceled out.
Forget what happened during the college football season, Billy.
Those parlayes didn't matter.
It's what's happening right now in the NBA playoffs.
That's what matters.
We had the wrong sport, turns out.
So when will it be posted?
Usually they posted in this.
It's on now.
You can bet it now.
Oh, it's one of the ones.
Yeah, sent it to them last night.
Show prep, you know, this day before stuff, we're getting way out in front of it.
So it's been on there all morning.
It's on there now.
I'm going to hit it.
I'll put it up during this commercial break.
So I like that parlay.
We're on fire right now.
You go with Carl and PJ?
Oh, yeah, definitely.
I agree with you about Carl.
See, maybe he found himself a little bit.
He was gregling just a little bit.
Breaking out of a funk.
I mean, you know, they had Charles Barkley and Shaq making fun of poor Carl.
Saying he shoots 1,500 shots a game, and Carl's like, uh-uh, uh-uh, I'm going to show you boys.
Hit four the next night on the road.
Just need two tonight.
There we go.
There's our parlay, Billy.
I like it.
You know, PJ's been playing good, too, so I think he can cash, and this is making me misfade this a little bit.
The gambling podcast we haven't done in three months or something like that.
It has been fun to watch PJ in Dallas.
You know, Charlotte didn't see a lot of him.
He gets traded there.
You wonder how that will look.
He's become a big part of that.
He's their number three score.
Yeah.
It's the third best option behind Kyrie and Luca.
And he's got the snarl that he did here at UK.
He's taken to that to the league.
He's from Dallas or at least went to high school for a little bit there.
So I don't follow teams in the NBA.
I have enjoyed watching PJ Washington.
Now there is kind of one NBA.
UK story that came out yesterday. I think you're the one
it posted about Rajan Rondo.
Oh, yeah. The LA Times, you've heard of that.
I've heard of that magazine. They were reporting that he's a
serious candidate to join the coaching staff for the
Lakers. Wow. You know, because he was rumored maybe joining
Cal's staff here. You know, he was hanging around,
was finishing up his degree, I think, even trying to get all that taken care of.
And I think a lot of people were hoping he would have
eventually be on the staff here. Yeah, and they're
looking at JJ Reddick as the head coach.
Wow.
pretzel that puts my mind in on what to think of the Lakers head coach JJ Redick assistant coach Rondo
none of this is done deal yet but that's what a lot of the reports in L.A. are suggesting the
Reddick thing seems pretty close to being finalized.
That is really young to be a head coach though don't you think? I mean isn't he just out of the league?
In no experience coaching right that's your Lakers update with Rondo.
I'm happy for him you know he I've said before on this show he was hard to deal with when he was here
but he's really good I think he's seen work with a lot of his camps
and youth basketball.
I think that's probably where he can excel as a coach.
And, you know, the dude won a championship.
Did he win two championships?
No, I didn't.
He got one with the Lakers.
Celtics and Lakers.
He won the bubble title.
Yeah, he did.
He won two titles.
His teammates call him the smartest basketball player
they've ever played with.
A lot of them do.
So maybe that translates with the Lakers.
It's just disappointing it.
Didn't work out with Kentucky.
I guess there was a holdup with his AAU team
that he was the coach with.
That was always part of the word.
He would have to change the name
because it was called like Ron.
He was associated with an AAU program, and that's breaking recruiting rules in college.
But people that really want him at UK, this is his first coaching job.
Maybe you do a little time with the Lakers on the bench and then that door.
That door opens.
Yeah.
Shannon, we've got any callers right now.
Let's go to Andy.
Andy. Go ahead, Andy.
Hey, guys.
I think you've got to have Calipari out on that boat, getting in the middle of the lake.
And it's an opportunity to get the answers to a lot of these questions that we've,
wandered over the years.
And then if you have to come back without Cal,
they just ask you,
it'd be like, I haven't seen him.
Andy's one of the dust off coach Cow.
We're not doing that.
Andy, are you coming up here for the watch party this weekend when you came to baseball?
No, I'm not coming up this weekend.
No, I'm not trying to come up next or something.
I'm going to be able to make it up this weekend.
Okay.
All right.
We'll keep an eye out for you.
Okay.
Hey, did you guys see last night the Mets player that threw his
glove up in the stands and what he said after the game.
Yeah.
What's that story? Tell me, Shannon.
So I'm trying to remember his name, but he threw his, he got mad, threw his glove.
What was it?
Well, something Lopez.
Yeah.
George Lopez was, I think it was George Lopez.
I think it was George.
No, it was.
I believe his name is George Lopez.
Got mad, threw his glove up in the stands, and then he asked him after the game if he, you know, regrets doing that.
And he said no, and basically said, hey, I'm playing for the worst team in all of baseball.
They asked him, are you sure that you mean to say that?
Do you want to walk that back?
He said no.
So he basically just said met to the worst team in baseball.
He said, I probably won't be here tomorrow.
Yeah, he said they want me to come back tomorrow.
I'll be here.
You know, otherwise, whatever.
Goodbye.
That was basically his attitude after the game.
It was really strange.
Wow.
Yeah.
Well, all right, Andy.
We'll look for you up here, coming up here to watch UK baseball.
All right, I'll see you.
All right.
See, buddy.
All right.
Who's next, Shannon?
All right, let's go to Fink.
Fink.
Go ahead, Fink.
Hey, guys.
Just wondering if you guys have heard anything about,
are we going to upgrade our practice facilities for basketball with all of CalPari's one and done players plastered all over the walls?
And do you think they'll keep the 2012 final four floor in the locker room with the one 2012 banner in the locker room?
Good question, Fink.
I think they do.
I mean, it's still, it's a Kentucky National Championship.
That's not a Cali Perry National Championship.
That's the U.K.
I think we should celebrate them all, though, instead of just the one.
Well, we got the one.
That's the last one we've got.
So I think that stays there until we win another one, to be honest.
And I think you still keep the players' pictures up on the wall.
They were still Kentucky Wildcats.
What do you think about it, Drew?
Well, that's about a new facility.
I don't think anything's been done there.
I don't think any of those former players donated,
and if they didn't already, I don't know if we'll get it now.
I'm going to agree the floor needs to go.
I kind of thought it needed to go already, though.
Really? Yeah.
Well, it's almost like, look at our championship,
and that was cool when it was a couple years old,
but it's 12 years old now.
And if we get to 15 years and 20 years,
then we're just looking at our old title.
That's no different than the rest.
We don't need to be reminded it's been that long since we've won't a title.
Now that Cal's moved on,
I think it would be a good time to revamp the locker room.
Not that we don't love that title.
It's just as important the others,
but it has been 12 years since they, you know,
put the floor there in the locker room and made it the focal point of everything.
It was a good recruiting pitch in 2013, 14, 15, but now you're bringing them in, and it's almost like,
look how long it's been.
That was such a sore spot with Cal, him asking for those new practice facilities.
And Mitch being pretty clear that that wasn't going to happen.
So for it to happen in year one or two with Mark Pope, it would just be, I feel like a big middle finger to Cal.
But at the same time, you know, probably time for an update soon.
Yeah.
And I'm with you about the floor as well.
I'm outvoted on that.
Shannon, what do you think?
I think you move on, like I was saying.
That's just a reminder.
I'm the only guy that says keep it.
You guys are like, ah, it's moving on.
I wanted the floor gone when Cal was still here.
I just thought it getting a little dated that had been too long.
It had been over a decade, and you're still like, look at our title we won 12 years ago.
I just felt like it might be time to renovate the place a little bit.
We got one more segment.
We'll take your phone calls.
859-280-2287.
We've got our Whiskey Thief Song of the Day.
I think it's coming up, Shannon.
I think it's next on deck.
Don't disappoint me.
You know what you got to play.
We'll see.
All right.
All right, we'll be right back.

Now, the undisputed three-time winner of the Whiskey Thief Song of the Day,
Hootie and the Blowfish, this is a no-brainer.
I like the Pondoon song, but this song, everybody knows this song.
This is beautiful.
I have to tell you, I went and looked this morning at my copy of Cracked Rearview,
and it didn't have
I go blonde on it
So you were right
I had the original
But it wasn't on there
The original
Did not have
But then the digitally
Remastered version
Like whatever
Or how many years later
I guess they included it
People were just telling me
So
Cheney's wearing a Darius Rucker
T-shirt today
So it's the whiskey thief
Dynasty
that Darius Rucker
just started three days ago
He was in enough
For wearing shirts
And Ryan did you know
That they covered
Interstate Love Song
Did you know that?
Really?
I wish people would
tweet you and I that that they covered interstate love songs.
We have been tweeted that how many times?
Well, let's play that tomorrow, and that'll win the whiskey-neef song in the day.
We'll both be happy.
Here we go.
859-2-287.
Let's get a couple phone calls before we get out of here, Shannon.
Who we got?
Let's take care of some business first.
Oh, yeah, I try.
You got another read.
I'm my bad.
Drew, you want to tell us about draft kings or you want me to go?
Go ahead.
All right.
Let me tell you, stop overpaying for sunglasses.
If you're tired of buying expensive sunglasses only to lose or break them, you need to get shady
raised.
We all have shady rays.
got a pair just a couple of weeks ago at a remote.
Shady Raes is an independent American-owned company that started right here in Kentucky.
They have premium polarized shades.
And if you use the promo code KSR, you're going to get 50% off two or more pairs in store at the flagship location at the summit Fritz Farm or online at shadyraise.com.
If you lose or break your pair of Shadyrays, they're going to replace them, no questions asked.
Go to Shadyerr.com promo code KSR.
There we go.
All right.
859-2802-287.
Now who we got.
All right.
Let's go to Bob and Jamestown.
Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob.
Yeah, doing good.
You're talking about coaches on a pond.
Coaches on a pond there.
They come down to Cumberland, they better have some good eyes out now because the driftwood is high in the trees.
You better stay away from your deck out there on the lake.
They don't want to see anything.
They don't want to burn their eyeballs.
Oh, they like that.
But it's really, like I said, there's a lot of driftwood out there.
But they want to see the dam rolling.
They got eight out of ten floodgates wide open.
It's running 730, almost 731 feet above sea level.
Well, get it cleaned up.
We'll come down here in a couple weeks.
So get that cleaned up for us down there.
What else you got for us, Bob?
Well, the Reds are in a slump now.
Cardinals beat them up.
That's because Cardinals are a better.
Cardinals are a better baseball team.
And then Russell County's coming to Lexington Saturday.
Their high school Lakers are really looking good.
Yeah.
Thank you, Bob.
I'm glad you said that.
Second year in a row, Russell County has made it to the state baseball finals.
Chase, on our collars, Chase is a big Russell County guy.
They came in here last year, ate at KS Bar, so we adopted them as our team,
and then they made it to the finals.
I got beaten the finals, I believe.
So we may have to pick Russell County again.
I'm all for it.
Maybe the cheese logs helped propel them.
Maybe that's what it was.
Breakfast of all champions.
Who's next, Shannon?
Let's go to Freebird.
Freebird.
Go ahead, Freebird.
fellas what's going on i'm going to try my best get down there tomorrow for the party
ripped his baseball team on and uh i'm glad old bob mentioned russell county one of my good
friends david rickstrokes the head coach down there and he's becoming a legend oh david rex wrote
yeah they talk about him all over the place oh man he knows his stuff and uh i think it was a couple
years ago when they they made it to the finals and they ran into the buzz saw because i think
Trinity had six Division I pictures on that team.
Could be.
But, hey, man, I'm looking forward.
I bet that tailgate and the watch party is going to be a blast.
So hope I can get down there and see you guys.
Come on up.
Come on up, says.
Appreciate it.
Thanks for the phone call.
Yeah, I think we're going to have a good crowd here.
We're going to, like, again, if you missed it, we're going to open up at 10 o'clock tomorrow.
Doors open at 10 when our show starts.
So you can come, even if you're going to the UK game, you can come here first, pre-game, tailgate,
then head on over to Kentucky Proud Park.
You're going to play some Baby Shark here at the bar tomorrow watching the game?
You know, we even ask Coach Madison why they play Baby Shark when it's 2-0.
Okay, what's the answer?
Josh Teeter is the one that gave us the answer.
He's up there trying to make a little money on the PGA tour,
but he's still submitting all these answers we need.
It's because at 3-0, they play the Jaws theme.
Yes.
So at 2-0, Baby Shark, it's kind of warming you up into the Jaws theme.
But what started?
Well, Jaws is a little more intimidating at 3.
You can see why you would play the Jaws theme.
I don't get it, but they've got people dressing up as sharks at the...
You understand, Jaws.
It's kind of like intimidating.
You know, backs against the wall.
I just don't get even why that is for 3-0.

Okay.
I'm just trying to give you the answer.
Look who just walked in.
Wow.

How about that?
The future Kentucky Wesley athlete.

What he really said was he was the worst teammate is the translation.
Well, he just got cut.
Oh, no way.
They just cut him.
Yeah, so I don't think he would do that.
They would do that for him.
saying he's a bad teammate he's a team
