Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
I'm not Matt Jones.
I'm Ira Metcalf here feeling in on Merry Mondays.
It's been a merry weekend for Kentucky fans.
Obviously after what happened in the College World Series.
well, the trip to the College World Series after the Super Regional win over Oregon State that ended, I don't know,
1 3rd in morning or something like that, Eastern Time, which is just crazy.
But you know what?
I mean, that's a good opportunity.
Like, Drew, did you go and get like some late-night food?
Like, that feels like the perfect, you know, whatever fast food joint is open, getting a couple tacos or something like that before you head home?
I did not, but only because I had a beautiful fried bologna sandwich from a food truck at the game,
daughter's southern.
It was a pristine bologna sandwich.
Otherwise, I would have certainly hit the late-night food,
but I was in a good spot already.
Yeah, I mean, the taco joint line must have been around the block,
wherever you all, late-night taco spot, whatever people do,
because, man, that keeps you up.
You know, 1.30 in the morning, a big victory like that.
I'm sure a lot of people maybe didn't sleep at all.
Do you have a cookout where you are?
Cookout?
That's a popular late-night spot.
Are you familiar with those?
What is a cookout?
No, what is a cookout?
What is that?
Well, if you drive by one at night, you're going to see a long line because everything
there is insanely cheap and it's open at all hours.
It's one I considered late night, but figure it might be some UK fans there already.
Let me tell you what we don't have.
And I always mess with Matt about this because I don't think people understand the luxury
they have when they have access to this place.
There is not a Waffle House within seven hours of where I live.
Oh, you're poor thing.
The closest Waffle House is seven hours away.
There's one in Kansas City, and then there's one like the Illinois border with some state.
But people don't realize this.
Waffle House is in like 17 states only.
It's not this place that's around the country.
So I'm so jealous of all my friends who have Waffle House access.
So whenever I travel and there's a Waffle House, it's the first place I go.
I went to a Waffle House during a tropical storm one time.
Arkansas, there was a tropical storm in Texas that had covered that entire part of the region.
I got the last flight into Fayetteville.
It was flooding.
It was storming.
And before I went to my hotel, I drove through all those puddles and I went to Waffle House.
You know why?
Because I'm not missing an opportunity to go to Waffle House because we don't have them.
And I just don't understand.
I don't know the Waffle House people
but like can you expand
every other company's expanding
why not Waffle House?
Give us one
like let us let us
trust us in the upper Midwest
with one Waffle House
we don't want two
we don't need three or four
just give us one
see how we do with it
and then I mean we can go from there
because I feel like
it is my right as an American
to have Waffle House access
and I feel like I'm being denied that fellas
it's not fair
I don't want to make you
feel bad, but when the leaves fall in the fall, and I can see through the trees in my backyard,
I can look out my bedroom window and see a Waffle House.
I mean, that's just, imagine waking up in the morning, you yawn and there's just a bright
yellow sign out of your window.
And I have one, Myron, I can walk to one from my house.
I go every Sunday after church, every single Sunday.
Who do I need to call?
Because I shouldn't have to drive seven hours.
I'm not kidding.
you, no. Seven hours from where I am.
That's an expensive door dash too.
Yes, and guess what?
I've considered it many times. I have thought many
of times, you know what?
How far is that? They ain't too bad, right?
Leave early enough in the morning, get to Waffle House.
But I feel like if you do Waffle House, like I like going to Waffle House when there
might be a fight.
You know, that really sketchy period from like 1245 a.m. to 3 a.m.
You know, like I like going to that Waffle House,
where people walk in and there could be,
something could, a chair could be thrown, right?
I'm not saying I'm condoning that,
but like that's the time I think you go to Waffle House
and really enjoy the moment.
You know, I don't want to be a three o'clock in the afternoon
Waffle House guy.
That feels fake to me.
But I would take what I can get.
I'm not kidding you.
Anytime I travel to a place with a Waffle House,
go.
I stop at a Waffle House.
Doesn't matter if I just ate.
Doesn't matter if I'm not hungry.
I go to Waffle House.
but I don't think people understand the luxury they have
that you can walk to a Waffle House.
Why is it Waffle House understanding the marketing opportunity
they have and how popular they would be if they expand?
But then again, maybe they're like they don't want to water down the product, right?
Is that probably the attitude?
Or is it that you all just don't trust us in the Upper Midwest?
Is that what it is?
We're gatekeeping our waffles.
We don't want everyone to have them.
Do you have anything close?
Do you have a late night spot where, like, you know,
that when the bars closed,
you know the type the bar just moves to the restaurant
in the middle of the evening,
in the middle of the morning?
There's a spot called Mickey's Diner
up here that a lot of people go to.
I mean, you got your chains,
your I-Hobbs, your dinners,
you got places like that.
But there's no,
Waffle House is, like,
I always tell people,
like, if you want to see the country,
first off, you can't get in an airplane
and do it.
This summer we have a family reunion in Mississippi,
and my daughter,
they want to get on a plane.
Like, no way.
We're going to drive.
You need to see America and see what it is.
You can't do that from a plane, right?
But if you can't do that, right?
If you can't go travel or whatever, go to a Waffle House.
If you want to see America, go to a Waffle House because everybody goes to Waffle House.
And I just, I feel like we're being denied here in the Upper Midwest, man, access to a Waffle House.
Speaking of that trip, so I got a family reunion in Mississippi.
We had a meeting last night.
and people made decisions on my behalf, I felt like.
And now we're all driving.
So we're in the big sprinter van or something like that to take, you know,
my mom and dad and everybody.
That wasn't my original plan.
Like my original plan was I was going to drive separately.
We'll meet you down there.
And then I feel like they kind of forced me to make this trip.
But now I'm wondering, like, how do I tell my mom that I get to control the music?
Like, could I, should I just tell her like, you know,
I'm not listening.
Nothing against gospel music.
Okay, it's cool.
But I'm not doing it for 15 hours.
You know, I got her sprinkling a little bit of biggie 90s R&B in there.
But I feel like, I feel like she's not going to let me, man.
So I don't know how to handle that with my mom and tell her like, we got to split the music on this trip.
Should I just come out with it and be like, you know what?
Hey, Mom, I'm 40 years old.
It's my time.
You're asking the wrong guys because Matt is our mom on road trip.
Yes, he is. We don't get to touch the radio. Don't even look at the radio.
Oh, no.
Oh, really?
Don't even look near the dash.
Oh, no, no way.
He doesn't give you access to the radio?
Oh, no. Oh, not at all.
We listen to what he wants to listen to.
We pee when he has to pee.
We eat when he's ready to. We do not touch the radio.
If you find out how to break through to get access to the radio, please let us know.
We've been trying for years.
We've tried everything.
Shannon at this point just puts on headphones and listens.
of his own music in the back. I think maybe Ron and I
should just start doing that too. I just try to ignore it.
I didn't know he would let you guys
have radio. That's wild because
now I do subscribe to that idea
the driver gets priority.
If you're driving
the priority should be
you and what you want to listen to.
You're the one keeping everybody safe.
Matt's radio has two options. Old
country or Paul Fondbaw.
That's it. That's all it goes to it. He's found
the only radio in the world that only has two channels.
No, that's it. He won't let you switch it up.
No.
No.
Oh, if Paul Feinbaum comes out of the country album, that will be the only thing that is in Matt's car.
One CD is all he needs.
I got to tell you something, Myron.
I was driving across Missouri late Friday night, just going through the channels,
and I hear the golden tones of Myron Metcalf about 11 o'clock this past Friday, just two days ago.
Yeah, yeah.
Now, I do a little Friday night gig with ESPN radio.
You know what's amazing.
in the radio deal.
And Matt and I always talk about this.
I mean, I've been fortunate to do some cool things at ESPN,
some TV writing, whatever.
If people know who I am, like if I go out somewhere,
it's always radio.
Like, it is always me and Matt on Sunday.
That's the first thing people say to me.
It is just amazing, man,
how many folks interact and just value and appreciate radio.
But I'm a big, especially if I'm driving,
I want my music.
And I know my mom and dad.
it's going to be like,
it's going to be some gospel music,
maybe some old school R&B,
like way back in the day,
maybe a little touch.
My dad's a jazz guy.
I'm not doing jazz for 15 hours.
I'm just not doing it,
you know,
but I don't know how to present that to them.
So what I'm thinking is fellas,
because they're not into the Bluetooth,
they don't know about that.
So I'm thinking I just connect my phone
to the car and don't tell anybody.
And then just from there,
I have control.
you know, but maybe that's a little deceptive,
but I feel like that's my only way
to be the driver and control the music,
which I think I have a right to.
I'm not Matt Jones level with it,
but I do think the first 10 songs got to be mine.
You can have 11 and 12.
But the first 10, those are going to be for me, man.
And it's a long road trip.
I think you turn on their radio station.
We'll find something local.
Let them hear four songs.
And when that four song ends,
switch to that Bluetooth and want to be like,
wow, I didn't know they had Biggie on this
gospel said, this is interesting, and they'll
have no clue that you're the DJ now.
You know what? I'm going to be like,
Mama, this is Tupac's Gospel
out. You didn't know about it.
It came out after All Eyes on Me.
Yeah, come with a little girl gospel.
Yeah, hear this song called
Dear Mama, I'm telling you, the
church will love it. You know what I mean?
So this is our first big
trip down to Mississippi.
Wow. We have family reunions. It's been
a while, and I don't know about your family and your family unions, but for us, Friday,
you come in, you mingle, you eat, you have a good time, Saturday, more of that, you know,
some, you know, we'll have like a big ceremony or whatever. And then about nine o'clock at night,
my uncles bring out something called the hooch. You all know about the hooch? Oh, yes. We're from
Kentucky. Oh, yeah, we know. Okay, you all know about it. See, up here, they don't know about that,
right?
And when they bring out the hooch, everything changes.
Because then my uncles get into it and then it's just, it gets to be a wild night, you know?
And the rule that my family reunion is everybody goes to church on Sunday morning.
It doesn't matter if you haven't been to church since 1988.
You're going to go to church on Sunday morning.
Everybody's going.
The challenge is even the people who got into the hooch have to go on Sunday morning.
And sometimes that gets a little common.
My uncle Edgar back in the day, rest in peace.
He was off the hooch on Saturday night, had to go to church the next morning.
And sometimes, I don't know, I don't know, I know what the black church, like there's,
call it testimony service how I grew up.
But like you stand up and just say something.
Like people say, hey, does anybody have any, you know, words, especially a visitor?
So my uncle Edgar stands up.
Again, Saturday night bled in the Sunday morning.
And you know how you can see just the way somebody.
stands up that something's about to go down.
Oh, yeah.
Like, you can just see.
So Edgar stands up, stumbles up, and we're just like, yeah, this is going to be, this might
be a problem.
You know what I mean?
And he goes, ladies and gentlemen, which I knew was a problem when he said ladies and
gentlemen.
Because we know everybody, right?
So I don't know why he said ladies and gentlemen.
But then he looks at my aunt Sarah, rest of peace.
And he says, I just want to tell this woman something.
And he says, this Luther Ingram song.
the lyrics from the song. He goes,
if loving you is right, if loving
you is wrong, I don't want to be right.
And everyone's like,
what?
What are you talking about?
And my aunt Sarah is so embarrassed
and she stands up and she
says, sit down,
Edgar.
She just pulls, pulls him
down and makes him sit
down in the seat. And
you know what? I'm worried because
I feel like
I feel like Sunday morning, if you got into the hooch,
you should be given a pass from anything that happens for the next 24 hours.
We'll see you at the end of the reunion.
I don't think we need to blend everybody together
because you might get some interesting moments.
But it's going to be a wild ride.
I'm driving.
Hopefully I can control some of the music.
We have any calls?
We do.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's go to Drew.
Hey, Drew, good morning, guys.
Yeah, sorry.
How are you doing?
I'm doing great.
Mary Monday.
Yeah, May Monday, man.
What's something that made you happy?
What made you happy?
The fact that you guys are talking about James Brown,
because I have a quick story about a Kentucky connection, believe or not.
Really?
I got to hear.
Yeah, so I'm from Corbyn, the guys there know where that is.
And there was a guy here named Ed Setzer,
and he was playing in a bar up in Cincinnati.
He lived there for a little while years and years ago.
And these guys stayed afterwards after a show,
and they said, man, we've been looking for that sound.
He was a really good guitarist.
They said, we've done everything we can to find that sound
that our boss would like for you to come over and cut some songs.
Well, they went downtown Cincinnati,
and it was a place called King Records,
and James Brown was in there.
And so they cut some songs.
Yeah, so James Brown took him and about three or four of his other bandmates,
and they had a band called James Brown and the Daps.
for about four years.
Yeah, so that guy from Corbyn was his backup vocalist
and lead guitarist for about four years.
Just want to let you know.
His name was Ed Sett.
That's amazing.
Great guy.
Ed Sett, that's amazing.
Yep, you have an awesome show.
I appreciate it.
Man, that's amazing because James had some of the best backup guys in the world in his band.
If you get a chance, I don't know if you've seen the James Brown movie,
you want to talk about, like, incredible stories.
I mean, what that dude went through as a kid,
abandoned by his mom.
Dad kind of didn't want him,
was raised in a crazy situation.
Couldn't read music, by the way.
I could not read music and became this incredible superstar.
And just the way he put together like this sound.
Like I'll always be a James Brown fan.
And when I saw him live at 70 years old,
I don't know what it is about like these artists who are 65 and over
who can still put on a great show.
but I feel like that just keeps them youthful.
Like Mick Jagger is still dancing around stages all over the world.
And it's, what is he, 80 something?
You know what I mean?
To still be able to do that?
I just, I think that's just amazing, amazing to see.
Who's our net?
We got another caller.
We do.
Let's go to Randy.
Randy.
Hey.
I want to say Randy Watson like coming to America, but how you doing, Randy?
Oh, it's not Randy Watson.
Hey, uh, last night.
was probably now the top of my sports, UK sports.
Really?
The reason is because my grandson,
who turns eight later to this month,
happy birthday.
First time, oh, thank you.
It's the first time he's wanted to go to a game,
and he went with me.
Wow.
And had the time of his life.
And that made it special for me
and the fact that they're going to the World Series,
the celebration,
just the way it was won.
Mengy owns such a great guy,
bringing his family up for the press conference.
But with my grandson, his reaction last night,
dancing, he's dancing, doing all the cheers.
Never been to a game.
He's doing all the hand motions, all the cheers, everything.
It was great.
That's a beautiful thing, man.
I appreciate that call because I'm sure there are a lot of people
who have some of those memories,
but I mean, that'd be so cool to do it with your grandson
or partner or a spouse or buddy or buddy or.
brother. I mean, that's literally
what sports is
supposed to be about. We'll talk more about
this and other things on the other side of this

Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,

This is Clever Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show,
I'm bringing you conversations
about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me,
he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to The Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Yeah.
This is what my, this is what my, this is what my uncle told my aunt in church, okay?
Wow.
There is no reason.
There is no reason to stand up and recite these lyrics in church.
But I don't blame them.
The hooch happened.
And listen, we got another family reunion a bit.
The hooch is going to be out there.
And I have a family, I don't know, but you all,
it's a blues singing family.
So about an hour into the hooch,
somebody grabs a guitar and people start singing about lost love
and all these other things.
It's just, it's going to be an interesting trip, man.
An interesting time.
But my uncle was literally saying those lyrics to my aunt in church.
and I've never seen a person more embarrassed than she was.
And she yanked him down.
She didn't just say, hey, sit down.
You know, it's embarrassing.
She yanked him down.
And I just, that'll be stuck in my head for the rest of my life.
I want to get to some more of these calls on this Mary Monday.
Who's our first caller on Mary Monday here on KSR?
Who we got?
Seth.
How you doing on this Merry Monday?
What's something that made you happy?
Something made you smile.
Kind of like you, I had family in town from Arizona and in New Mexico.
Nice.
Yeah, I love that part of the country.
Yeah, so I had two questions in particular.
Ryan, you'll know what I'm talking about, but do you have Kentucky comparisons for Malachi Marino and Jasper Johnson?
Since a lot of the Indiana-Kentucky stuff with the high schoolers.
Yeah, Marin, those are the two, like, top high school basketball.
recruits in Kentucky. They're both going to be in the 2025 class. Mark Pope's talking to both of them.
One's in lives here in Lexington. The other one's in Georgetown, which is right up the road.
So it's like, it's going to be a big story to see if Mark Pope can get both of those dudes to stay.
But Malacomarino's like 6-11 and like thin and frail. He's like a big guy, but he's like he needs to put on some meat and muscle.
But he's very, very talented. And Jasper Johnson's like left-handed like Roger Harden.
Like he can shake and bake and pop the stick it right in your eyes. So that's what I always say.
reminds me at Roger Harden a little bit.
And the new rankings for their class just came out.
They're number 16 and number 17 in the country,
going back to back from Kentucky there.
They both got great hair, right?
Oh, great hair.
Both of those guys. Incredible.
Incredible.
Like your hair.
Yeah, I wish I had more, man.
I wish I had that kind of hair.
People don't understand what it's like to have that.
But no, I think the beauty of that situation is
you can land the local guys and they can really help.
You know what I mean?
It's one thing, and obviously this happened in past years,
it's smart to go after the top local kids,
if for no other reason than just to appeal the fan base, right?
But having a couple guys like that who could really help this program.
The question will be, and this isn't even just Mark Prope,
this is every coach in America,
is where do freshmen fit in a culture that says we want to get older?
You know, I mean, it's, it's becoming more and more difficult in college basketball to recruit freshmen who need a year or two.
And I'm not saying that's the case with Malacom Jasp for, but, you know, even if you are a top recruit, if you are battling some 23-year-old who's been dreaming about going to Kentucky since he was a kid, but ended up at some mid-major for three years, wasn't recruited by Kentucky, wasn't knowing that Kentucky talked to him,
and then all of a sudden, three years later,
he gets a call from Mark Pope,
and he says,
hey, man, would you, you want to play?
You want to play here?
Like, you got to fight that dude in practice?
And he's 23,
and you're 18, you know, 100 and whatever pounds soaking wet?
Like, that to me will be the challenge is
how you balance freshman talent
with the pressure to win now,
which the easiest path to that is to get older
to go into the portal and to build that way.
So it's just going to be interesting to see,
not even just with Mark Pope,
how coaches around the country approach that
because, you know,
I think teams will get those portal guys.
If it's a choice between a high-level portal guy
or a freshman who maybe needs to add some weight,
maybe needs to grow before he can make an impact,
a lot of coaches are going to pick that portal guy.
and what does that mean if you're a freshman?
So who's our net?
We got another caller here.
Got to hit a break here.
We got to hit a break here.
We'll get to call us more after this break.

I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on Earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.
Join me, Kear Gaines,

What's up, guys?
This is Clever Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show,
I'm bringing you conversations
about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office, Blue 42.
Hey, ref, my mom, I want you.
you to wave at her. What? Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Cliverts show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Yeah, I don't know my mom will know if this is a gospel song or not. I don't know. I could try to convince her.
Yeah, just try your best.
Yeah.
She'll believe you.
Maybe.
Maybe you're selling your mom short a little bit.
Maybe she might like this.
True.
Maybe she's heard it.
True.
What if she's heard it?
Yeah.
She had a life before Myron was born.
That's true.
That's true.
Maybe I'm not giving her enough credit.
We're going to see.
It's going to be a fun trip.
Ryan, you got a couple of reads.
I got a couple for you.
Yeah.
First, I'm going to tell you about Stockton Mortgage.
Let's just say you're a college baseball.
coach and maybe you had a monumental win and you're about to get a big bonus in your contract.
Well, maybe you might want to look into buying a house with that extra cash you got.
Now you got money for a down payment and Stockton Mortgage can help you.
It's easy to work with.
You work with the same loan officer throughout the process.
You can apply online.
It's Stockton.com.
There's a button right there.
It says, get started.
You hit that will help you through the process.
So, you know, if you're just somebody that maybe just got a big bonus check, you want to look
to maybe upgrade your house, Stockton Mortgage can help you.
NMLS 8259 Equal Housing Lenter.
And I also want to tell you, Myron, we have our Kentucky branded tweet of the day.
Kentucky Branden, by the way, they have all the officially licensed UK World Series shirts in store already and online at Kentucky branded.com.
So if you want their UK Batcats World Series shirt, Kentucky Branden's got you covered.
But here is the tweet of the day.
Yeah.
After last Monday, Myron Metcalf and Al Green are slowly responsible for the sharp rise in babies being born in Kentucky next March.
Listen, man, I got some interesting messages from people.
That might be true, you know, because I'm telling you, it just, it really,
I felt like I changed the vibe across the KSR listener base a little bit when
Al Green became a thing.
People were sending me playlist.
I was getting playlists.
I was getting all kinds of stuff after we released.
Because again, once you get introduced to Al Green, it changes everything.
It changes your entire life.
So I'm glad Al Green had that effect.
I got to say one more thing, too.
I compare Jasper Johnson to Roger Harden.
I was trying to say James Hardin.
I had the wrong hard.
I wondered where you were going.
That was a big comparison, big gap in the generations there.
I didn't realize I had that.
James Hardin, not the white Roger Hardin.
Yeah, a little different.
Speaking of James Hardin real quick,
did you see the video from the wedding he attended last night?
Did anybody see that?
Oh, no.
Yeah, I think I saw this.
So James Hardin, he goes to a wedding.
I don't know who's wedding it is.
And they throw the bouquet, which I wonder what that tradition is, right?
But they throw the bouquet.
His girlfriend catches it.
And then they show James Hardin, he looks like he has seen a ghost.
Like he looks like he looks like he can't understand how this happened.
You know what I mean?
He looks like he thinks it's rigged.
You know, like, and I do think some of those are rigged, by the way.
I do think, like, people don't realize you're going to a wedding
and they are talking about this before they throw, you know,
it's not a real competition.
Like, you know, some of this is somebody slipped somebody a $50 bill
for everybody to get out of the way and let Susan catch it, you know,
because she's been trying to get married since 2019 or whatever, right?
So I think James Hardin had that look.
Yeah, he had that look a little bit of like, hold on a second.
How did she?
How did she of all people get this?
Yeah.
And then he looks like this was not his plan.
Like he wanted nothing to do with her catching the bouquet.
After seeing that video, I agree that something was up.
She looks very out of position.
She should not have been anywhere near that.
She was targeted.
That was thrown right at her.
You see everyone get out of the way.
I'm with you.
That was orchestrated from the beginning.
Nobody's jumping with her.
Like nobody's trying to get,
there's no fight for it.
You know what I mean?
I think someone said her a screen
to get her open at one point.
Yeah, 100%.
That's awesome.
We get tackled just to create room,
create room for it.
But I think James Harden,
he looks like he looks at every NBA game.
When he flops and he's asking the rest to call the file.
Like he felt like the system,
the system was rigged against him a little bit.
But how do you go home after that?
felt like what's the conversation
in the car ride home? You're on
video with this look
that says you didn't want me to
catch the bouquet. You wanted
no part of this and now
everybody's sending her the video
that shows James Harden checking
out in this moment. He actually
walks away at one point.
That's a tough car ride home fellas.
You know, that's a, I don't know how you explain
that one. I hope that couch is comfortable.
That's where James is going to be now for a couple
days. He might be at the second house.
James might have gone out to a different couch.
James on the couch, all right.
With the without that moment.
You know what?
That's what he was thinking about.
He was like, hold on to say, I'm not leaving that couch.
You know what I mean?
She's catching the bouquet, you know.
So that was a funny moment.
We got one more read.
Do we have another read?
We can spread them out.
I've got one dialed up if we need it.
You want to talk a little Father's Day?
Yeah, Father's Day.
It goes together with grilling.
they go together like fire and beef.
And you can take care of your dad this father's day with some dry-aged beef growing locally at Noche Linda Farms.
I grill it.
Ryan grills it and you or your dad can grill it too.
Notia Linda Farms now offers free shipping on all orders with Kentucky.
Within Kentucky over $250.
Simply use the coupon K-Y-ship-free at checkout.
That's all lowercase.
K-Y-ship-free altogether.
It's at Nochalinda Farms, a proud partner located in Bourbon County.
Go to Nochelinda Farms.com or call 8.5.
859-707-704 to place your order.
Go get your Notchen, Linda beef.
Do I get any of this stuff, like filling in?
Or is it just, is it just, let me know?
Because, I mean, some of this stuff, like the grilling stuff, I'd be into that.
Well, next time you're in Kentucky, we're definitely taking you to Waffle House.
And with the Mark Pope show in town, I'm sure ESPN will send you here plenty.
So you go and get ready.
I'll be there this summer.
Like, I'll be, I think I'll be there in a couple weeks maybe.
So now, and again, I want to be there like 1.15 a.m.
Like, I want to be there when people are stumbling in the Waffle House.
That's when it's really Waffle House.
You know what I mean?
I went to Waffa House one time in Atlanta.
And it was like, I don't know, 2 o'clock in the morning.
And I've never felt more at home.
Like, just like, just that moment of like, someone's going to start fighting.
It just, it's an adrenaline rush for me, you know, to be in Waffle House
and just to know you're there in the middle.
and that at any moment
things can pop off.
I just love it.
And then the food is incredible.
And if you told me I could have
any chef in the world cook me a meal,
give me the Waffle House dude.
Give me the 2 a.m. Waffle House chef.
Like that is the greatest chef in the world.
It's 2 a.m.
He's whipping up 50 orders every 15 minutes.
That's the dude I want cooking a meal for me.
So definitely take you a...
The best Waffle House chefs have sweat running over
the name they have tattooed on their neck.
It just runs right over it. And then when you
sit down and your forearm stick
to the booth because someone spilled syrup on it
before you, that's when you know you're there and it's on.
I want
the chef who takes
a 16 minute smoke break
twice an hour. Yeah. That's what I want.
That's what you got. I want that dude.
I want that dude whose resume
doesn't say anything from like
2008 to 2015. Like he just won't say where he
was. You know what I mean? Like I want one of those people with a gap in their life that you can't
really explain. Like hey man, 2010, bro, you remember 2010? He's like, listen, man, I can't talk
about it. I want my chef to be that kind of a dude. A dude who can't talk about like six to seven
years of his life takes that smoke break. Doesn't really like talking to people. You know what I mean?
He just wants to cook and live his life. But also is ready for whatever pops off. If a fight breaks out,
he's ready for.
Like he is security and he's the cook.
He is the bouncing.
Oh, yeah.
Because Waffle House is basically the after hours club of the world, I feel like.
And he's basically the bouncer, the cook, and everything else.
So yeah, I will definitely go to Waffle House when I'm in town.
We got another.
If you get lucky when you're walking in, I know you all have done this, maybe not
a Waffle House, but the best is when you see the cook on their break and they finish the
singer and you make eye contact, like they know you're coming in and they got to get
in there and there's like a nod.
like, here I come. I'm ready. You got your cigarette? This is going to be a great meal.
And is there anybody with more control and more power in this country than the Waffle House chef after midnight?
He runs the entire establishment. If he leaves right now, the whole thing shuts down.
And everybody knows it. So he's sitting out there taking his smoke break because he wants you to know that he's in full control.
Like that's why he's doing it. He's like, listen, yeah, I know that you all may see me, Waffle House dude.
don't think too much of it.
But if I walk away right now
and this thing shuts down,
you know how many fights there would be
if he walked away at like 1.30 in the morning?
Oh, yeah.
You what kind of chairs would be thrown in that place
if he just decided to leave at 1.30?
You know what I mean?
So that's my guy.
Like, that's the dude I always try to make eye contact with,
befriend because, you know, he's important.
So I can't wait to see another waffle house
once I get a chance to get back down to that part of the country.
We got another caller.
Let's go to Matthew.
Matthew.
Hey, guys.
Hey, what's up, man?
I'm good.
I'm good.
I'm good.
Can you hear me?
I got you.
I'm good.
What's something that made you happy or made you smile?
Anything that stand out for you?
Oh, yeah.
Well, of course, Kentucky going to the World Series.
I mean, that made me happy.
But what made me smile was this weekend on the beach.
was my wife and her and her bathing suit looking at her and I had Al Green rolling my head all day.
Thomas.
See?
Hey,
I was right.
It changes the vibe.
Yeah, go ahead.
But I'll change everything.
I love these topics that you have, man.
You're awesome.
All you guys are awesome.
But, okay, Waffle House, just a little nickel-down knowledge for it.
Chick-fil-A actually first started selling their sandwiches,
their chicken sandwiches through Waffle House in Atlanta.
I don't know if y'all know that.
And, of course, Waffle House.
Say that again.
Say that again.
Say that again.
Wait, say that again.
Chick-fil-A sold their sandwiches.
Through Waffle House.
Yep, at Waffle House.
That's how they got their start.
What?
Wow.
We got to look this up.
I actually see it on the internet.
I'm reading about it right now.
He's not wrong.
Okay.
And again, when I hear stuff like that, it's like, why aren't we putting these around the country?
We got so many issues in this country that people want to talk about and argue about it
go back and forth and buy, put all that away.
Make Waffle House more popular.
Give us more Waffle House.
That's what I want to see.
Like, this is incredible.
I have no idea.
I had no idea.
So Chick-fil-A was basically like, was like,
hey, hey, Waffle House, man, I got this chicken sandwich.
You know, can you start sell, like, how were they selling them?
What did the menu look like?
It was like, all right, here's a Waffle House menu,
but there's a dude named Irvin who is selling chicken sandwiches
if you want to buy them here.
Like, what was that?
You know, what was that situation?
And also, kudos to Atlanta because that means,
Chick-fil-A
probably had their own chef.
They probably had their own chicken dude, right?
Who's next to the Waffle House dude.
And, you know, Waffle House dude
had to create that space for him
to cook his chicken sandwiches
in his space.
So, I mean, that is, that's amazing.
Chick-fil-A got it start at Waffle House.
Did you all know that?
No.
It's on the Internet, so it's got to be true
that the guy contracted
Waffle House to sell his first chicken
sandwiches,
that eventually became Chick-Falai sandwiches.
Maybe that's why they're so buttoned up at Chick-fil-A.
Like, they started at Waf House, and they were like,
we got to get out of this neighborhood.
Like, we don't want these fights.
We got to kind of button things up a little bit.
Waffle House is a little too tough for us.
We'll talk more about this and everything else on the other side of the break.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.

I like what y'all do with KSR, man.
I mean, what would we talk about?
Baseball, Waffle House,
my uncle,
Tupac, trying to convince my mom
that it's the gospel, the hooch.
That's the kind of show I like, man.
This is just me talking, by the way.
I mean, you know, I don't have a script.
I just came on and said,
all let me talk for a couple hours.
And thank you all for participating in this journey with me.
Shannon, I think you got to read.
I do.
I do.
This segment is sponsored by cornbread hemp.
Listen, if you're the type of person
that goes to a Waffle House to fight, you need some cornbread hemp. It'll calm you down. You can have a nice
sleep that night. And at this very moment, we want to remind you that prohibition groups are trying to
reverse the 2018 Farm Bill that made hemp legal, which means recriminalizing a plant that we depend
on for a better quality of life. So the good news is, though, you can help. There's still time to act.
You can go to cornbread hemp.com slash KSR. You click on the link to contact members of your
Congress to tell them very politely to keep cornbread hemp legal.
That's cornbread hemp.com slash KSR to help keep cornbread hemp legal.
Back to you, Myron.
All right.
Is that it for a...
Is that it for?
We paid the bills.
I do have some breaking news for Shannon, though, Myron.
Oh, do we need the breaking news button?
Yes.
Okay.
Oneida-da.
We have a costume for Shannon to wear at Marvel Trivia Night, Wednesday night at KS.
Bar and Grill.
We have secured Shannon's costume.
What is it?
I got to know.
Spider-Man.
All right, I'll do Spider-Man.
Okay.
Yeah.
So that means, though, it's going to be a little hot in that thing, though, right?
The whole thing, probably.
So, like, do I have a mask?
Yeah, how, yeah, I'm going to host and read trivia questions with a mask on.
Maybe you got to take the mask off, but you can wear the costume part.
Neck down, you'll be Spider-Man.
Yeah.
You don't want to, like, you don't want to, like, you know, not be able to breathe.
Yeah, I don't want to pass out trying to raise.
Have you?
Comic book questions.
Have you seen the video of the dude?
He went to some, like, birthday party, a Spider-Man or whatever,
and he fell into, like, a pool, and he couldn't breathe.
So he's, like, flopping around, and people think it's part of the act.
Like, so people are like, oh, Spider-Man's crazy, man.
Look at him in the pool.
He's going wild, right?
And then at some point, someone's like, oh, wait a minute, this dude is in trouble,
and then someone, like, jumps in and grabs him and pulls the mascot.
Because, like, once you're in a Spider-Man outfit, you're just Spider-Man.
Yeah.
I mean, you just him, you know, like that's a whole situation.
So the person that saves Spider-Man is the real superhero.
That's the thing.
And then now you can't be Spider-Man ever again because someone had to save Spider-Man.
You know what I mean?
But like, there's a video of you if you watch it.
People think he's just, people think it's part of like the performance.
So people are like, oh, man, all that Spider-Man, falling into the pool.
And then at some point, someone's like, yeah, he might be in trouble.
Let me go ahead and say.
Spider-Man. We got a
we got time for like one more call. We do, yeah, let's go to
Mike. Mike
how you doing on this Mary Monday?
Oh, pretty good.
You know, the cat's proud of them.
Two things I'm confused about, though.
One of them is this
cop in Louisville that supposedly
drugged Scotty Shepworth?
Why is he still on the radio
mouth than about it?
Is he on the radio?
Oh, man. He was. He was on the
He's either Friday or Saturday.
Oh, he was, he's thrown there.
Oh, yeah, he's still not happy about it.
Man.
And then the other thing, yeah, let that go.
Yeah, well, you know, that's what I thought.
It was supposed to have been over.
But yeah, anyway, the second thing is, if any of y'all watch the,
uh, Oregon, Texas A&M game in the seventh inning is, is the Oregon coach was he just
brain dead or what?
I didn't see the Oregon,
Texas A&M.
They were,
Oregon was leading
eight to four.
The guy walks to
a guy,
a guy gets a hit,
he walks to load the bases.
Then he walks two more
to score two runs.
Hit the batter.
They left them in?
They left them in?
They left them in?
They left him in?
My goodness.
Talk about believe.
Talk about believing in your players.
Or hanging them out to drive.
That's amazing that they left to me.
The next guy comes in.
He walked the first one.
That's the thing.
Imagine being in the bullpen.
Like, you're seeing that,
and you're like, they're not even giving me a chance.
Like, that would be a confidence not to anybody.
So, yeah, I appreciate that call.
And then the officer and the Scotty Sheffler.
I mean, you got to let's,
you got to just stop talking.
I mean, just the more you talk about it,
the more people are going to remember
how ridiculous all of that was.
And I'm sure the folks in that city
are definitely going,
just stop, just stop talking.
So, well, this was fun.
Good job, sir.
This was cool, man.
Yeah, this was, man, I can't believe
I talked about the hooch and Waffle House.
I mean, that's the way.
That's the way radio should be, man.
You know, that's the way we should do it.
College World Series.
Yes.
A little Mark Pope in there.
People are DM me and they're like,
when are you going to talk about what you do for a living, college basketball?
I will get to college basketball.
I promise you I'll get to Mark Pope in Kentucky.
But today just felt like a Waffle House hooch kind of day,
a little baseball mixed in there.
But thank you, fellas.
You're the man.
You're the man.
You're the man.
You're the next week.
Everybody have fun.
Merry Monday.
Enjoy your lives.
Smile.
Have fun.
