Now here's Matt Jones.
Myron Metcalf filling in for Matt Jones on another Merry Monday.
I don't think I said Merry Monday today.
I'm sorry.
I hope it's a Merry Monday for everybody out there listening, tuning in.
got to get the week started off right.
So we're going to take some calls.
I think we got, well, we got three calls or so.
Is that accurate?
We got four.
Four?
Yeah.
Who's our first caller here?
Let's go to Ryan.
In the KSA.
Ryan, how you doing on this Merry Monday?
What's something that made you happy?
Something that made you smile.
I'm doing great, Myron.
I talked to you this morning.
I'm actually sitting in the, I'm sitting in the NICU at UK with my wife and my daughter.
She's about a month old now.
And we're expected to get to go home this week, so we're very excited about that.
How about that?
That's awesome news, man.
That's really good news to hear, definitely.
I wanted to kind of give a shout out to the Ronald McDonald's house
and I appreciate everything they've done for us while we've been here.
That's awesome.
I think Mark Pope came on earlier this month maybe.
On the show?
On here?
It's been a while since we've had Pope.
Matt was still here.
That was back in May, but yeah, we've had him briefly.
I don't know if you guys talked about him coming by the Arnold House
and doing a signing and stuff here recently,
but he came by and met the families and everything
and was really great with all the people there.
That's awesome.
That's great.
No, that's really good to hear.
And, you know, I mean, a lot of times we see a lot of these coaches,
even athletes, through, you know, viral sound bites,
and clips, and sometimes they're not cast in the most positive light.
But like all of us, you know, they all, a lot of them have that side where they are doing things like this.
And that should be recognized as well, Ryan.
So I appreciate that.
Acknowledgement, appreciate that call.
You will never hear anybody say anything negative about Mark Pope as far as being a good person.
And I'm not surprised at all that he went by the Ronald McDonald House and met with the families.
That's just stuff that he will do regularly.
A lot of times we won't even know about it.
That's just kind of a person he is.
And the Ronald McDonald House deserves that shout out too.
They do a lot of good work for people going through things over at UK healthcare.
I mean, we got to ask the question, though, are there three Mark Popes?
How was he doing all this stuff?
How is he on planes to recruit?
He's at events locally where you are.
I just don't know how he's doing it.
Like it feels like literally from the moment he walked off that bus at the introductory.
Press
conference,
he has not had
a moment to
himself.
I mean,
he is always
going.
And I think to
find out that he's
also doing stuff
behind the scenes
like this,
it makes you go,
wow.
I mean, the energy
that must demand,
especially as a new
coach with that
program,
you got to respect that.
Yeah,
went to South America
to watch
Jasper Johnson,
went to Turkey
to watch some
scouting reports.
Oh, yeah,
by the way,
had to move
his family
from Utah
to
Lexington.
I mean,
just all these things he's been doing
and he does seem to be everywhere.
So maybe there are
three Mark Pope.
Maybe you may be on to something.
Is there a clone?
I mean,
there could be a clone.
I'm just saying.
It's something that people need to consider.
Who's our next caller?
Let's go to Bob.
Bob,
how you doing on this Mary Monday?
What's something that made you happy?
Something that's made you smile.
I'm talking to you right now.
How about that, Bob?
Oh, Bob.
I appreciate it.
I'm going to apologize for the
statement I made a couple of years ago if you took it to yourself because it wasn't.
I enjoyed it.
Oh, you know what it told me terrible?
Did you say I was, was it like it wasn't a good show?
No, it was a very boring subject you were on and you seemed to stay there.
Okay.
That's good.
But, but, but,
CSR is regional.
You know, we get stories we cry with, we get stories we live with and we get stories
that's just entertaining.
and to me you were way off, but I didn't want you to feel like this was at you
because I enjoy talking to you and listening to your comments.
And there's a couple of things that bothered me.
Okay.
You can stay in the islands, but you can't stay little.
And you came back to Cajun and you don't know what the Trinity is.
And I tell you, you have an onion on, and you don't know what that is.
Yeah.
So I got a question about over there.
How familiar are you with that?
Yeah.
I'm coming strong.
Bob, you want to listen to them or not?
Yeah.
Hold on a second.
Bob,
was this supposed to be a pick me up?
Because you started by saying,
hey,
I think you had me wrong
when I said it was boring
a couple weeks ago.
And then you kind of listed
all the stuff I'm not doing.
You know how it feels,
whenever we went to parent teacher conferences,
you know what they would start with?
They'd say,
you know what?
Myron has a lot of potential, right?
He has a bright future, but he talks too much and he's not turning it in his homework.
That's how it feels a little bit like that to me, Bob.
Well, I don't want to feel like that because you have interesting things, but we like subjects to be local.
Gotcha.
That was a little far away from me.
And I'm over 90 years old, and I've been listening to this show forever.
Wow.
And I can tell you things about the SEC that not even in the history books.
I bet you could.
But anyway, I just, I have one more thing for Wargo.
Would you deliver this bag of saco-cawate's to that fellow that's been in the gallery he was named after?
What was that?
No idea.
I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know.
deliver this bag of
Caco-Wates
who the fellow
was sitting in the gallery
he was named after
they called right after I did.
Okay, we'll pass that along.
We appreciate the call-upon.
All right, sounds, yeah.
Happy Merry Monday, Bob.
Is Bob related to an ex of mine
or something?
I don't know, like,
I don't know what that's about.
But he started off.
He did.
Like he was saying,
hey, my bad for a couple weeks ago,
saying that this was
boring. I'm going to make amends. Is that how you all heard that? Yeah. I thought he was coming to
extend the olive branch with you a little bit, I felt like. So Bob's one of our, he calls a lot.
He's always got, usually got jokes. He usually has jokes for us. Yeah. You like Bob. Yeah. Let's
think about Bob. If I were 90, I would say anything I felt. Amen. Amen. I can't wait.
You know what I mean? There's that element too. Like once I hit, it ain't even got to be 90 for me,
fellas. Once I hit about 63,
I'm just going to say
whatever. I haven't said. You know what I mean?
I'm not going to care at that
point. So I can respect that
element of Bob's approach. But I was waiting for the pick me up.
I was waiting for the, you know what, hey,
about that boring thing, you're not boring, but instead
it's just like he listed some other things that maybe
he didn't like as well. But, you know,
at 90, you get to say whatever
you want to say. I think that's part of being 90
years old. Who's our next caller?
try AD.
A.D.
How you doing this Merry Monday
was something that made you happy?
Something that made your smile.
Mary Monday.
So just something over the weekend
that it made me smile,
made me happy to see my boy Reed Shepherd
absolutely dominate those guys in the summer league.
We don't get to that.
I mean, I hate we didn't get to see it here.
But it just made me so happy
to seeing him just absolutely dominate these guys
at the next level.
Yeah, we're going to get to that.
Good point.
definitely wanted to talk a lot about that. I mean,
what people are saying
in the Twitterverse, right,
is they're saying it's got to be
hard for Kentucky fans
to watch what happens
when Reed Shepard gets to be Reed Shepard.
That's what they're saying,
right? And, you know,
college is different from the NBA.
So you can't look at the NBA and go,
okay, why wasn't he able to do
all of these things in college? Part of it is
because college is a different game.
But there's another part of it where
when you see that, you kind of go, wait a minute.
I don't know if you let Reed Sheppard do everything that Reed Sheppard could do.
Was that your sense when you watched him in the summer league?
Yes, sir, yes, sir.
And I've been following Reed, you know, since he, you know, just watching to play AAU ball.
He's out of the 13th region.
That's where I'm from.
So I just fall when Reed's through there.
And then, you know, just him, you know, finally seemed like he's getting to spread his wings now that he's in the summer league.
I totally understand, you know, the college and the pro gamer are definitely different leagues.
And, yeah, it's just been great seeing him go off like that.
I appreciate the call.
Ryan and Drew, have you all seen him in Summer League?
Have you all watched this at all?
Yes, it's incredible.
And it's, as much we love reading, we just watch the whole year of him,
I'm still having a hard time processing, seeing Reed Shepard from London, Kentucky
in an NBA jersey in being by far the best player on the,
court. Now, it is a little, as you're saying a little bit with the caller, it kind of sucks to
pull up Twitter and when you're trying to enjoy it, see some highlights, and everyone outside
of Kentucky is just absolutely cooking Kentucky fans and John Calipari. So the social media
emotions don't line up with the game, but it has been so fun to watch him. Rob Dillingham
had a good second game too. So Houston and Minnesota, they got a lot of fans behind them
moving forward. I mean, Reed has proven why he should have been the number one pick. He
should have been the number one pick, not the number three pick.
And it is crazy to think that, you know, he's so loyal.
He's loyal to a fault.
He was so loyal to DJ Wagner when his two better players were coming off the bench.
It could have been fun to see what could have been with this past season because they were good.
Could have been a lot better.
Yeah, and I don't, you know, I get that, you know, sometimes when I've talked about Reed Shepherd,
even on the show, or I've talked about last year, I've gotten people who've DM me and they've said,
just move on.
And I'm like, I get it.
But at the same time, you still got to look back and go, what could have been, I think, a little bit.
Like what happened?
Yep.
You know, I don't know if you saw it.
I don't know if you saw it.
Like John Morant, Trey Young were tweeting about Reeves Shepherd.
Like, people are going get him out of Summer League.
He's too good for Summer League.
Like, he looks like he was made.
And I'm not joking.
I'm not like exaggerating to play guard in the NBA.
Like everything he's able to do, the NBA is so perfect the way he's.
he shoots, the way he passes.
It's like you put him,
it's almost like taking a quarterback
from a team that maybe
didn't have a lot of weapons, although Kentucky did.
I'm not saying that. And then you let him
go into like a spread offense all of a sudden
and you see his full capabilities.
That's what it's like watching Reen Shepherd right now.
And for a guy who, correct me if I'm wrong,
what are we three years removed
from people questioning if he was going to get a scholarship offer?
Yeah.
Yeah. Kind of had to get nudged and didn't even
making that offer originally early on.
And then last night,
John Morant and Trey Young are tweeting about him.
It's just like, what is going on with Reed Shepherd?
This is such a special story in Kentucky with his dad and his mom and everything about him.
It's just so surreal that it's happening.
But it's exciting to watch and follow and it's just getting started.
Jeff was there Friday night.
I don't know if he was there last night.
Jeff was there Friday.
And the cameras caught him at one point where he was like even like, my God.
Look at this.
Man, he's my holy cow.
That's right after he put Dalton Connect.
on skates.
Listen, I saw Jeff stand up,
which was the absolute coolest dad reaction.
Because here's my thought on what Reed Sheper did to Dalton Connect.
If we're up to me, you got to suspend Dog Connect for five games.
Because at that point, at that point, let's take you out of the game, okay,
and let's just get a breather a little bit.
That move was incredible.
And it was so, the crazy thing about the move,
you go back and watch what you did Friday against Dalton Connect.
He just clears everybody out.
Reed Chepard's going ISO on a guy who a lot of people thought could have been a much higher pick in Dalton Connect.
Oh, yeah.
And just cooked him.
I mean, just literally cooked him on that play.
And Jeff stood up and you knew Jeff was stunned.
He didn't do it.
He didn't clap or he just stood up like stunned.
Like, oh, my goodness.
I know.
I didn't do that in the NBA.
And then here's Reed.
So it's just been cool to watch, man.
One thing about Reed Sheppard, you know, the story is.
something that people have to respect.
When you see a guy like that who was overlooked, who a lot of people question if he could play
at the collegiate level at the D1 level, at the SEC level, and now he's doing this, it looks
like he made the right move going into the draft and showcasing his full capabilities.
Yeah, you know, he obviously, his senior year, he could have gone into Oak Hill, one of these high
profile prep schools.
He chose to stay at North Laurel High School in the 13th.
be and play with these boys.
If he had gone on, he would have maybe gotten, you know, more respect as a player.
But he wanted to play with these boys and, you know, play,
finishing his high school career.
That speaks, I think, what kind of character he's got, too, as a person.
And he took him to New York with him for the draft.
Yeah.
That's really cool.
High school teammates went with him.
Listen, and they're all going to be in that mansion he builds with that $300 million
max deal he signed in a couple years.
Another thing quickly.
So, you know, I've met his mom and met his dad.
So, and I've talked to Matt Jones.
about this.
His mom, like I remember going to South Carolina
earlier this year and I was like,
what is this accent?
Because South Carolina sounded different to me
than any other place I've been.
When I hear Reed Shepherd's mom talk,
I'm like, I've been to Kentucky.
I've been all over in Kentucky.
I don't know that accent.
Like what is Reed Shepherd's mom's accent?
Because that's a different thing it feels like to me.
Well, one, it's awesome.
And if we were sending someone
and to speak with our best Kentucky accent.
That's my vote.
Yes.
But is it,
okay.
Is that the 13th region?
It's 13th region.
It's that part of the state,
kind of where Matt is from,
the mountain region.
That's the accent that you'll find there.
Yeah, in the mountains.
13th region.
Yep.
Is that what they called the hollers, right?
They call the hollers.
Is that what they?
They got some hollers around there.
Yeah, you can go deep in the holler
in Harlan County in some of that area over there.
But yeah, she grew up in London where Reed grew up.
That's why they moved back there.
So that's where she's from.
Wow.
Yeah, I mean, it's a unique accent, right?
And, you know, I've talked to Reid, who says he gives his mom a lot of credit for everything he's being able to do in his career.
And to be the son of one of the greatest players of Kentucky history on the women's side, one of the greatest players on the men's side.
That's such a unique thing to grow up with that pressure.
I know his parents didn't put that on him, but just knowing you have that last name.
And then to be a top three pick in the NBA draft and to come out like this,
That's a Disney movie, man.
I mean, that's like, you know,
somebody should be putting that story together.
But my goodness,
Reed Shepard, pull him out of Summer League
because I think he's just too good
for Summer League at this point.
And that doesn't help the questions
about what happened last year
and how he could have been used.
Rob Dillingham's up here in Minnesota.
They love him up here, by the way.
Good.
They are pumped about Rob Dillingham.
You know, and I told people,
you're going to love him.
He's going to have a lot of really
big moments. He'll have some tough nights, right? Because that's just the way his game is.
But on those great nights, there won't be many people who can play to Rob Dillingham's level.
We'll have more after this.

You go to Graceland, you better have some money for that memorabilia store.
I'll tell you what, man.
It was worth it, but they were taxing.
I'll tell you that.
They were taxing when it came to getting some mugs and everything that I ended up buying, man.
Nicknacks and doodads.
Yeah, man.
man, but it was a wild experience, took a lot of photos, had a great time.
I think we have a read here.
We got to read.

There's cornbread hemp.
There's a lot.
I just didn't know like what's the rules.
Physical therapy?
You need some physical therapy?
Yeah.
I mean, listen, I'll take it all if it's free.
I'll take it all.
You can give me anything.
You can hand me a box on the street and say it's free and I'll take it.
They're not even know what's in it.
Our friends at Wild Eggs apparently want to bring you some food so you'll stop talking about
Waffle House and they're going to prove to you that they're the best breakfast in town.
Wait a minute.
Hold on.
You didn't tell me about this.
Say that again?
What's going on?
Our friends at Wild Eggs are one of our sponsors here.
They're going to bring you some food.
It's a breakfast brunch.
Breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a bar.
Wild eggs.
Okay.
And they want to prove to you that they have the best breakfast in town, not the Waffle House.
So you may have all kinds of food when you come in next Monday.
You might be changing your favorite pancakes after you eat wild eggs.
You're being shopped.
It's like an N I am I being recruited.
They are.
Wild eggs is recruiting you.
There is no doubt they're going to recruit you on Monday.
We're taking you on an official visit to Wild Eggs.
And listen, I'm all for it.
You know, so is the idea that they're going to try to show me that I should go there instead of waffles when I'm in town?
Yes, they're going to prove to you that their food is better than wafel.
When you walk in, the thong song is already going to be on to make you feel welcome.
Now, if you do that, I'm signing right there.
If you have Cisco on and I walk in and sit, I'm signing.
There's no need to even court me in that situation.
Okay.
So what's their pancake situation though?
I'm a big pancake person if you can't tell because everybody can't make pancakes.
You know what I mean?
You can make some simple pancakes, but like good pancakes is a skill.
So what's their pancake situation?
Well, with respect to the Paducah Cracker Barrow, I think those are going to be your second favorites.
There's some good pancakes at Wildex.
French toast, if you like French toast.
We'll do it all.
Because at the Paducah Cracker Barrow, I almost went back and hugged whoever made my pancake.
But I thought that would cause a scene.
Like I didn't feel like I should just walk into the kitchen in Paducah, Kentucky, randomly giving people daps and shoutouts.
But I wanted to.
It was that good.
But you're saying wild eggs.
Is that what you're getting?
Wild egg, right?
Wild eggs.
Wild eggs.
Okay.
The Drury in. It is magical.
They've got a happy hour that is second to none.
You get what?
$2 margaritas.
I mean, it is amazing.
Hold on.
How didn't I know this?
What?
Yeah.
I saw it.
I saw the Drury Inn.
I didn't stay there, but I saw it.
I didn't know where to stay.
You know, there's some hotels that have like a continental breakfast.
This place has a continental dinner.
Shannon loves it.
Oh, my goodness.
continental dinner.
Yeah.
At the, I didn't know.
Free margaritas.
I was just say it was complimentary margaritas at one night.
We were there.
Free marg.
Oh, yeah.
I missed out.
Yeah, maybe it was complimentary.
I mean, how great was the one we stayed in Pittsburgh, guys?
That's true.
Yeah, it's really droories everywhere.
They know what they're doing.
Although Matt made us leave the free happy hour because he wanted to take us to a nice
dinner.
And where'd be go, Shane, red lobster and brink?
We left the free food and free bar for Red Lobsters.
I want to take you out to a really nice place.
I'm thinking like, you know, top-notch.
He goes, oh, we're going to go to Red Lobster.
Oh, Red Lobster is top-notch?
No, I tell you what.
I mean, in some circles, Red Lobster is top-notch.
I mean, you know, Red Lobster is an underrated experience, I will say.
I'm not against it.
We just didn't want to leave the setting we were in.
I like a good Red Lobster trip.
I wouldn't have left the free happy hour dinner.
I wouldn't have left.
No.
I don't know they did all that at the jury in.
See, now you know next time you go through Paducah.
but you know they should put me on the chamber of commerce like I should do an ad for them because
I would say Paducah the hidden gym of Kentucky right oh you just kind of promo for them yeah
just free Paduca uh y'all can take that paducah the hidden gym of Kentucky and it'll be me
standing on a table at the cracker barrel with Cisco playing in the back like I just sold the whole
city people gonna come through there based on that
Alone. We'll be back with more after this.

Here's Matt Jones.
It's a good song.
I don't know the lyrics, but I know it's a good song.
This is one you need to learn for your routine.
Yeah. Is this like one of the essential ones, right?
Oh, yeah. This is probably like the one you close with.
Yeah, this is the one to make everybody cry at the end, right?
A little bit.
Oh, yeah.
I'll definitely learn the lyrics to that.
Back on KSR, Meyer Metcalf.
I'm on a couple of group texts with Matt Jones,
and he'll just kind of randomly pop up.
And right now he's kind of arguing with someone in this group text about some stuff.
It's just, it's funny.
Matt's arguing, what?
Yeah, it's just funny.
It's that, like, you know he'll never change.
Like, he'll never change.
He could be in Europe.
He could be in Antarctica.
and if someone said something that was
something he felt strongly about,
he's definitely going to let you know.
I really appreciate that, by the way, about Matt.
Like, I've known him, almost a decade now,
never changed once.
Been the same dude.
Literally from the beginning and who you hear
on the radio or however you see Matt Jones,
same dude when you meet him in person
will tell you something in a text
and they'll say it to your face too.
He is not afraid to tell you exactly how he feels
and I always appreciate that about Matt Jones.
Do we have more reads we got to knock out before the end of the show?
Yeah, I've got another one here.
Because money matters, right?
Yes, money's important.
Yes, it does.
Myron, I know you like Hooch.
How do you feel about Kentucky moonshine?
Have you had any Kentucky Moonshine before?
Boy, listen.
I'm in.
I want you to check out the moonshine trail.
You can follow me on Twitter to get your shine on.
away each week. I will post a picture of a different location of the moonshine trail than one person
who guesses correctly. We'll get an Amazon gift card courtesy at the moonshine trail. And they're in
Lexington, Pikeville, all over the state of Kentucky. It's more than just spirits. It's about the
people who pour their hearts into the making of moonshine. You can meet expert distillers sharing
their stories of tradition, rebellion, and innovation for an authentic Kentucky experience.
The moonshine trail has a passport book where you can earn stamps for each location along the
way. You can pick any of those up.
at any of the Moonshine Trail locations.
Just go to Moonshinetrail.com for more info.
Let me tell you something.
At the cookout, the family union,
they got into that hooch early.
I bet.
It was,
broke it out earlier than normal.
Earlier than normal.
You know what I mean?
Usually it's about, you know,
10 o'clock at night on a Friday.
I told you a little later.
Usually it's when they bring it out,
no, it was there from the beginning.
It was just there.
And folks got after it, too.
It was a great, great time.
down at the family union in Mississippi.
My dad's from there.
So I got to take my daughters to his hometown where he grew up in Baldwin, Mississippi.
It's a little small town down there.
It was just cool.
The heat down there where you all are at, though, it's a different kind of heat.
Like, you all need to prepare us for that hot.
Because I saw the weather forecast, right?
I saw the forecast and it was like 90s humid.
I'm like, okay.
I've experienced that before.
No big deal.
I can handle that, right?
And then I got down there.
And it was the kind of heat where
you just stop walking.
Like I don't know, I don't know how to describe it.
I was walking outside, I just stopped.
I was like, you know what?
I don't know if I'm supposed to be walking in this.
Like maybe I need to just go inside
or let me just sit down somewhere.
Like you felt like if you move too much,
that heat might consume you.
I mean, it was that level of heat.
I don't know if you all understand that we don't have that kind of heat up there.
It gets hot.
That's something else that you all have in the South.
Well, that's why you start drinking hooch at 10 in the morning instead of 10 at night.
That's exactly why you do it.
You forget, I guess, but it was still hot no matter what.
It was hot all day.
And my goodness, but great food.
I know everybody wants to know about the cookout and what happened.
and I think, you know, the dip I was going to make.
Yeah.
All excited to make the dip.
Had all the ingredients.
I can't think of the guy who sent it to me.
Shout out to him.
I don't remember someone on Twitter.
I don't know if they DM me or if they just said something on Twitter.
I was all ready to do it.
And then I was told by the woman in charge of food that my services were not necessary in a way.
And here's the reality, right?
I'll just be honest with y'all because I feel like we're friends and family now, right?
Like, we're just, you know, I've been on this show every Monday with the exception of one or two,
and I just tell you all what I think and what I feel.
Yeah.
I wanted to counter that and say, well, hold on, right?
This is something I want to do.
Let me do it.
I was scared of her because she had this look.
I don't know if y'all know the.
look I'm talking about.
But it was one of those looks that was like,
just move out of the way.
You know what I mean?
And don't ask again kind of thing.
So I just,
I was a little intimidated.
I didn't want to make the dip
and then I throw it on the table
and I've been kind of told to,
you know,
hey, your services aren't needed here.
So I didn't do it.
But I am going to do it at one in the future
when I'm not as afraid of the person
in charge of the food.
But I was,
I was afraid of her.
gotta be honest, I didn't know what would happen if I had just sort of thrown my dish on there
because that was her domain.
You know, you're on the topic.
Like, she ran that.
Yeah.
Like she ran that and you could tell.
Like everybody in the room knew she was in charge of the food and no one questioned it.
No.
And I didn't feel like it'd be good for me to come from the Midwest down south to raise my hand
and start questioning the food queen.
I didn't think I'd earn that yet, fellas.
So that's the real story there.
I wanted to do it, but I was scared of her.
That's honestly what happened to me, you know?
Maybe she was a little afraid your dish was going to be so good.
It was going to be better than her dish.
Fair.
You know?
That's fair.
Maybe.
That's a fair analysis.
I was too afraid to find out.
because, you know, like when she pointed to people in the room, they moved.
It was one of those situations.
Like, you know what I mean?
When it was time, hey, we need more food.
She just pointed to someone.
And they got up and they got the food.
So I didn't want to, I was like, okay, am I going to suddenly,
is she going to be in charge of me now if I have put some food down there?
Oh, yeah.
I was too afraid to find out.
But it was still a great celebration.
I was so glad to get down there.
it was a lot of fun.
I think we got a bunch of calls still.
Do we have calls?
Yeah, let's go.
Tony from Jacksonville.
Tony from Jacksonville, what say you on this Merry Monday?
What made you happy?
What made you smile?
Good, merry morning.
That's beautiful.
Today, I'm traveling this week for business,
and I had a very merry breakfast at Waffle House this point, to be honest,
that you guys are talking about it.
What did you eat?
I had eggs.
Egg, sausage, toast, and ashbrow.
Of course.
What else?
Mm-hmm.
Mm-mm.
Yeah.
That's music to my ears.
Mother covered a cap, too.
Oh, oh, goodness.
That's just, I might have to drive to one, just based on what you said.
Seven hours I might get on the road after the show.
But what else did you want to add?
My bad.
Well, I did have a question, and you brought it up earlier in the show.
I'm going to be in a gust on business this week, and I was going to try to catch some
peace jam and I was just wondering and I tried to look it up if what recruits that Pope or Kentucky's
looking at hard and if so they're playing what night or if you have any idea of which team
or whenever they're playing but I would like I've got a night or two available but I'd like
to catch some you know some good bicycle if I could have you been to peace jam before
do you know about peace jam? Yes I have. Yes um yeah um yeah so
I mean, Peach Jam is obviously the best of the best on the Nike circuit will all be out there.
I don't have the rosters to know everybody that's going to be there,
but I'll assume, you know, the top prospects will all be in Augusta.
It's air condition now.
I don't know if you all were there when it wasn't.
I've been there before when there was no AC, and that was just sort of a different situation.
But, I mean, you name it.
The top prospects.
We'll have a preview on KSR a few days before it gets started.
Check the website.
We'll have all the Kentucky people to watch and all the big names.
I assume.
I don't know if Jasper's there.
You're just there.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's going to come in after.
Yeah.
Yeah, if Jasper's there, I mean, you know where I'm going down there to hunt Mark Pope,
but I mean, Jasper's down there.
Obviously, not a top recruits.
All of the best of the best.
I mean, the thing about Peach Jam is like, like,
there are these events in our sport where you're like everyone's there.
And a lot of times everyone's actually not there.
But this is actually one of those events where everybody's there.
So I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
And if you're there, come find me because I'll have the rosters.
I know they make people pay a ton of money for that.
Come find me and I'll direct you to where the different gyms are
and where the teams are playing once I get all those materials.
Are you going to do that this week?
I'm going to be there.
I'm going to be there.
I'll get there Friday.
So I'll be there Friday and then Saturday.
And then I'll fly to Kentucky's Saturday night.
Then I'll be in Kentucky.
And then, yeah, I'll be a little bit everywhere.
Yeah, I'm going to hear.
It'll be early this week.
Oh, got you.
I appreciate you.
All right.
Sounds good.
Sounds good.
Well, I appreciate the call.
Who's our next caller?
Let's go to David.
Hey, I didn't see the, I didn't listen to the show last week and never.
got whether or not you got the correct way to pronounce Louisville.
But I got the definitive answer.
Yeah, everyone says that, though.
Imagine you have a mouth full of marbles and then.
Okay, can I stop you there?
Can I stop you there?
Okay.
You all say these things to me, right?
And it always starts with something like that.
I've never had a mouthful of marbles, sir.
I don't know what that's.
like necessarily.
I can try to envision it.
But it all,
like that's what you all don't get about saying it.
There's always like a,
hey,
do this and try to say it.
And that makes it a little harder for me.
But just saying,
imagine I have a mouthful of like marbles
and then say,
Louie,
like that.
I say mouthful of marbles.
Okay, let me try it.
I have a mouthful of marbles.
Lovable.
I think you nailed it.
That's the best you've ever done.
Is that the best?
Yeah, it was.
That was the best you've ever done.
Love.
Is that, is that it?
Is that it?
You had a little fat Albert in there again, I think.
You know what?
I can't stop the fat Albert.
I don't know where it comes from.
It's just a part of me.
It feels like at this point.
And I'm glad you all told me that.
You know, no one's ever, I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my Elvis.
It turns out there's a fat Albert in there.
Fat Albert in there.
And it makes sense.
But let me try it again.
So mouthful of marbles.
Yes.
Lover.
Lover.
Is that it?
Loveo.
That's it.
I think that's it.
Is that it?
Okay.
To say it without your fat Albert deep voice.
Now try it.
I don't know how to.
But he's telling me to have a mouth full of marbles.
So I don't know how else to do it.
Love him.
Love him.
I don't know how to do it.
I'm trying.
How do you not speak like that with a mouth full of marbles?
Is this a trick?
Are y'all playing a trick on me?
Is this really something that people do or is this for me?
I don't know.
We got time for one more call?
Record it and we'll play it forever and ever, never, never, yeah.
Do that.
Do that.
I'm going to try to remember the mouthful of Marbles.
We have time for one more call?
Let's do one more.
Let's do Madison.
Madison, how are you doing on this Merry Monday?
I'm doing, I got two things.
One, yesterday was my birthday.
You all didn't.
Happy birthday.
Madison.
You forgot about that.
I'm 34 years old.
Okay, all right.
Happy 34th birthday.
You said 34?
Yes, I did.
I sure did.
He sounded like that at 24.
I'm sorry, I got two things of one.
You all were talking about football and how, you know,
sometimes people are not as big a fan of Mark Dupes as they used to be.
What's your expectations for the UK football team this year?
And then two, you also didn't mention the non-competitions.
conference basketball schedule that UK put out.
What's your expectations for the basketball team when they get starting?
I appreciate the call.
I mean, I think with Kentucky, it feels like so much is tied to the unknown of Brock,
right, Van Gogh, and how he plays and how he excels.
And I think you kind of start there.
I think if he lives up to, you know, the buzz, the high school buzz,
the buzz early in his career, I think Kentucky could be a really good team.
in the SEC.
I obviously says the top tier.
But where do you see them?
What would be a good season, fellas, in your opinion, for UK football this year?
If you want to put a number on it, I mean, I think they're going to be much better on both sides of the ball.
I think the defense is going to be very good.
But the schedule is harder than I think it's ever been with going to Austin, hosting number one, Georgia.
You're going back to Ole Miss.
They're in the preseason playoff conversation as a team to watch.
at Tennessee, we all know how that game normally goes.
So just those four alone, I think eight and four, even though you want to do better than eight wins,
that still would be a good record against your competition.
Now, I'm hoping for 10, and I want to win some of those games.
But it is a very tough task to win some of those games that they have on the schedule this year.
Yeah, last year at this time, people were talking about potential nine or 10 wins.
And that wasn't crazy.
Man, that'd be tough to get there this year to get nine or 10 wins.
just because, like Drew said, laid out, the schedule is so tough this year.
And then you look at other schools like, I think Tennessee's got a really favorable schedule.
How did they get that?
We get a, you know, a tough schedule.
Yeah, I never know how that all works out in terms of the scheduling.
But we're going to see what happens.
I'm just glad college football is almost here.
We'll be back after the break.

Back to you.
All right.
Shout out to all the spine.
is people are bullying me a little bit online and telling me to just say the word.
You know, and maybe I should just say Louisville, right?
Maybe I'll just go back to that because people are saying just say the word.
It's simple dude.
Somebody wrote to me.
I don't need this kind of pressure, y'all.
I really don't.
So I don't know.
Maybe I just go back to saying Louisville or maybe I even be worse.
What's the golfer?
What did he say?
Scott Treffler said Louisville, right?
You know what I mean?
Maybe I'll go to that direction.
Maybe that'll make y'all happy.
But I got a couple of tweets that were like, just say it.
I'm trying.
But every time there's a new instruction on how to say it,
I got to imagine I have marbles in my mouth or pretend like I'm saying one word and just changing the letters.
This is a lot.
Real quick, are you all into video games at all?
Do you all care about this new video game coming out?
It's all I'm thinking about today.
NCAA, what is it?
College football 25.
College football 25.
It is currently downloading on my PlayStation right now while I'm here.
left it running at home. So Josiah did it to you last night. Yeah, I got a next box. If you pre-order,
you can play it tomorrow, right? Today, four o'clock. So if anyone out there, if you're a friend
or a family member of mine, if you have anything to say to me, say it before four o'clock,
because I am disappearing. You're not, you're not. Yeah. So I, I don't know if I got the right
version or not. You know what I mean? Like, I got an Xbox. I think I clicked the right
version. I'm not enough of a video game person to know. Like, there were too many options.
Drew, on which game, which bundle to pick.
And I don't know if I messed something up or not,
but we're going to find out here this afternoon.
But people are excited about this game, right?
This is what, first time in 10 years?
Yeah, I'm not even really a gamer.
I have a system, but it collects dust.
But now that this is out,
I might have to remember how to disappear
into hibernation for days at a time
and play some video games.
I don't even know if I got the right version.
I think I got an email that said,
come to your local blockbuster to pick up the cartridge.
I don't know.
Maybe this is a different system entirely that I got.
I don't know.
But it sounds like everybody's going to play it.
You know what's been cool?
I've been going to some of these arenas.
And now they're letting these guys hook up their PlayStation's and Xboxes
to the Jumbotron in some of these arenas.
I don't know if you all have seen this.
No, that's pretty cool.
I was at, I think, Michigan, they lowered the Jumbotron,
which I didn't even know they could do that.
They lowered the Jumbotron.
And they let them play some game on the JumboTriam, which is, that's pretty cool.
That's a pretty cool thing.
Next week I'll be in Lexington, Kentucky.
I hope to see you all.
All right.
Fun times as always.
Can't wait to do this again next week on another Merry Monday.
