Starting point is 00:01:14 We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue with 42. A rep, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at?

Starting point is 00:02:13 This is Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's Matt Jones. All right, good morning, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and welcome to this Thursday edition of Kentucky Sports Radio. Thursday, August 1st. We're already in August. Holy cow, when did that happen? Ryan Lemon and Drew Franklin and Shannon the Dude.
Starting point is 00:02:31 As always, Kentucky Sports Radio is sponsored. sponsored by the T.J. Smith Law Office called T.J. and... He'll make them pay. He will make them pay. Our Clark's Puppet Shop phone line 859-280-2-287. We'll have our Whiskey Thief Song of the Day, our Don Franklin call of the day, and our Kentucky-branded text today, which, by the way, Kentucky Branden sent me a note, opening a new store in Louisville.
Starting point is 00:02:51 How about that? How about that? So Kentucky Brand is branching out and got a new store opening in Louisville. Guys, we are at Clark's the brand, well, it's not brand new, but it's a new Clark's Pumpet Shop in Midway, because today, is Woodford County Day on our countdown of the counties. We have finally made it. We're at county number 120.
Starting point is 00:03:09 We were at Woodford County Day today. We made it, Shannon. How about that? We made it. We can't screw this up now, right? Well, if we just somehow forgot to do it, which is very possible. Well, that is possible. We'll get off our Woodford County facts, but a big shout out to Clark's Puppet Shop,
Starting point is 00:03:25 big supporter of our show, big friend of the show. And Drew, they gave us 20 gift cards to give away today. $25 gift cards. All you have to do is drive by and say, I love Clark's Puppet Shop. 20. So it's very generous of them. We're down to eight.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Shannon and Billy gave away 12 of them during the pre-show. It just shows the popularity of the pre-show. I mean, we're second fiddle to them sometimes, and I'm glad they left us a few gift cards to give away in these two hours. I think Rachel just gave away two more. I think we're down to six.
Starting point is 00:03:53 You better get to moving. We were getting stricter. We were getting stricter as the hour went by because some people would just come on go, Clark's Puppens Shop. I go, yeah? What about it? Well, do you love it?
Starting point is 00:04:02 I yelled I love Clark's Puppets Shop. I didn't get a gift card. You don't get the perk of winning the Clark's Puppen Shop card. It's a $25 gift card. All you have to do is drive by, yell out to Shannon. I love Clark's Puppet Shop. Make sure Shannon hears you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Mr. Grumple Dump over here, you got to say it the right way. I will just look at you and go, she's got them. I don't have them. Don't look at me. Well, not only is Clark's Puppets Shop, but big supporter of us in KSR, they're also a proud supporter of U.K. Athletics. The Kentucky volleyball teams opened in the season. at the KFC Yump Center
Starting point is 00:04:33 and they're going to have special tickets you can give away here at Clark's Pumping Shop. So a lot of things going on, but we're happy to be here for Woodford County, Dave, on KSR. Yeah, I was looking forward to getting here. I like their Clark's Cafe machine where you pick your latte. I'm up there hitting buttons. Don't know what I'm doing, but it tastes delicious. I fueled up here like
Starting point is 00:04:49 I always do. I'm marathon loyal, Ryan, and Clark says Marathon. So you saw me getting gas. I did. Now that I think about it, I should have gotten a gas card first from you all, but I was happy to support Clark's this morning, glad that we're here in Midway. We're getting the crispy, crunchy chicken afterwards for lunch. Oh, that's good. It's really good. It sounds good.
Starting point is 00:05:05 When we did our Clark's Puppet Shop show by my house in Lexington, the one there on Citation, we had some of that chicken. It was really good. I was just telling Joe here, the best part of this show is staying after and getting that chicken sandwich on the way home. That's right. That's exactly right. Well, we've got to start with, Shannon, I think, some things that have happened last night in recent days, since the sport world's kind of slow. We've kind of covered UK basketball and UK football a lot during the summer. But our tour of hosting the show is about to wind down because Matthew Harper-Jones is back in the United States.
Starting point is 00:05:36 He called a lot of us yesterday. Did he call you? He did not. No. Could he call you? He didn't call me, but I'm in like three different work group chats of different people. Website, radio, bar. So he's definitely back in business mode, even though his feet aren't back in the other.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Yeah, he is back in business mode. That's a good way to do it. He reached out to a lot of people texting, setting up some meetings and things we got going on. We're going to have a team meeting before. for our show in Hopkinsville next week, Shannon. So Matthew Harper Jones is back. He comes back to Kentucky tomorrow. That's right.
Starting point is 00:06:05 And I noticed that Billy strategically just took his vacation on Monday as soon as Matt gets back. I'll be taking the week after that. But yeah, looking forward to having Matt back. It's been a lot of fun this summer, though, just doing these pop-up shows like this one we're doing today. We really appreciate, of course, all the places that have had us out. But it's been a lot of fun. But back to normal coming up this Monday. Now, there's a lot of things going on next week, and we all had a good chuckle about it.
Starting point is 00:06:27 our employer, Iheart, having these mandatory meetings. Seminars. Seminars. We feel like a real, real employees. But there's one in Lexington on Tuesday, and then there's one in Louisville on Wednesday, and we have to go to both of them. Double-header. Yeah, how do you think that's going to go with Matt?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Probably not going to love it, but, you know, we love the company we work for. We do. And if they're going to have seminars that we need to be a part of, by God, we're going to be there. So I'm looking forward to all the things that are going to happen at this seminar. I don't know what's going on, but I will be there. And I look forward to Matt being there, too. So, Shannon, you're going to drive from Louisville to Lexington on Tuesday for that seminar. Yep.
Starting point is 00:07:07 And then drive back. And then the next day, Drew and I are going to drive. And Billy, we're going to drive from Lexington to Louisville for another podcast seminar. Just in case you miss something on the first day, we're going to run it back on the next day and make sure that we're all, you know, understanding exactly what's going on in the podcast world. They know your ADD, so they're like, you can't possible. sit through one two-hour sessions, so we're going to invite them to both. So then on Friday of next week, a week from tomorrow, we're going to be in Hopkinsville,
Starting point is 00:07:33 the new A-Vision Glass Company, another great friend of our show, the A-Vision-glass Tech Machine. I've got it right here on the table. But we're going to go and spend the night the night before. A little treat. Have our team meeting. We're going to get together and talk about it, get ready. Because football season's here, fellas. I mean, the team has already reported.
Starting point is 00:07:50 They've been on the field. Football season is here, and we have to get ready for it. First practice was yesterday. They put some clips out. Even though it's like one second of a guy throwing a pass, you know, you don't really seeing what's happened. I still get so excited just watching it. There's one where Van DeGriff hits Barryham Brown on a, it looks like a go route for touchdown, a little one-handed grab by someone else.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Even though it's heavily edited, it means football's here. That's right. They're looking good. Now, last night, Shannon, we had 80s and 90s trivia at KS Bar and Grill. Yeah. Good crowd. I mean, we had a really good crowd. It was a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:08:22 But before we did it, Super Mario decides to have a, hot wing eating contest with Drew and I. Not really a contest. We were just... Just a little challenge. A challenge. A challenge. Eating hot wings.
Starting point is 00:08:35 I despise hot wings. Despise them. How do you despise hot wings? Are you American? I'm a wussy. I can't. If it's hot and spicy, I told Drew,
Starting point is 00:08:45 sometimes salsa is hot and spicy to me. So they bring out three different times. KS. Bar sauce, which used to be our hottest sauce, right? It was very good. It's more of a Chipotle heat than On the, what are they called it, the Scoval ratings? It's probably about midway up on that.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Okay. And then we had one that was a little bit hotter. What was it? That was the hot. The hot sauce. Before you go too much further, Shan, I want to say, I was getting to having Tina, our manager set up the wings. And I got the super hot for the bit, but Ryan wanted to get mild, and Mario put his foot down. It was like, we were not doing mild for our challenge.
Starting point is 00:09:18 That's right. That's right. Got the KSR in on the hot. And then. And so the second one is called what? Just our hot. Just a hot sauce. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:25 And the third one is called Eight Rings of Fire Eight Rings of Fire Eight represents the national championships I think there's like eight different peppers We're hoping it's nine rings of fire this time next year But that is the hottest that KS Bar has The night of the ring was Ryan's bald spot
Starting point is 00:09:40 That was sweating, right? I'm telling you, okay, we did the KSR sauce first It wasn't bad I could do it. I didn't want to eat a lot of it, but I could get by That one's not too spicy Not too spicy It's a different kind of spice
Starting point is 00:09:50 And even the same one I think my tongue was already kind of on fire So the second one, it was already, my tongue was kind of numb. Well, once you get past that numbing point, the second one, the hot one was okay. It was also okay. You're running on adrenaline at that point. Who cares?
Starting point is 00:10:04 Just jump right in. Let me tell you something. That third one lit me up. I mean, my tongue was on fire. My bald spot was sweating. I had sweat running down my back into my boxer shorts. I'm like, holy cow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Drew ate the whole wing, went back, ate a second wing. And I'm drinking milk trying to calm it down. He calmed it down by eating more with the hot wings. That doesn't surprise me. So what you're saying is Drew annihilated you in this hot-winging contest. Not even close. Yeah. You guys understood also had some milk.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Oh, I didn't have milk. One milk on the toe. I killed my milk. I drank it completely trying to. Drew is doing it the right way. You shouldn't have milk. If you've got to have milk, you're cheating. You've got to have milk.
Starting point is 00:10:44 My nose was running. I'm wiping snot from my nose. My goodness. Those are hot. They're warm, and I can't say that's what I wanted for dinner. right before we hosted bingo. Stomach wasn't feeling great, but I think I even say this in the video. We're about 30 seconds in, and I realize we've got to make this entertaining.
Starting point is 00:11:02 If it's just us taking one bite and drinking milk, that's not a very new video. I tapped out. I tapped out, so you had to play it apart. I'm a big content guy. I got to give the people what they want, so I went all in. I don't know that I'll do that again anytime soon, but it was a lot of fun. And it's just another example of what great work Mario is doing. He comes up with these ideas. We would never attempt.
Starting point is 00:11:21 We didn't really know what we were in for. He said be here at six. coming out early. He's got lights set up, and it's just, he's full of ideas and adding a lot to the KSR brand that I think our listeners are really enjoying. So you're hearing Drew talk right now. You think he was okay. It didn't affect him, right? I think he's okay. Yeah. Well, it was 80s and 90s trivia night, and Drew and I took turns asking the questions. You're sweating right now just talking about that. The hot wings lit me up. I'm trying to lit me up. But yes. So we had a really good crowd. A lot of teams there for 80s and 90s trivia. If you don't think the wings affected Drew, Drew pulled a wrong burgundy. Twice read the question and the answer. Oh, no. Before the question.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Let me defend myself a little here. Yeah, there's no defending it. I did just read the answer with the question. Prior to the one I messed up, they were double spaced. So there was the question, a gap, and the answer. So I would just stop at the gap. Yes. On the one I messed up, it all just kind of ran together.
Starting point is 00:12:19 So after the question mark, I then just shouted the answer. And everyone immediately was like, you just said the answer. It's all right. We're blaming the editor. Well, Jess, she's our trivia host. She wrote him. I don't want to blame her. I actually still feel bad because she gave me a look like, you idiot. Would you just sit down and let me do this? So on the fly, I came up with my own question to solve it.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I didn't want to get thrown up on points. On the fly. That's impressive. All right. So what was the question if you don't know. Well, we're doing 90s. I said, in what movie did Tom Hanks go looking for his friend in the Vietnam War? And she quickly found music from the soundtrack, and everyone answered.
Starting point is 00:12:52 It was Forrest Gump. So I had to throw that in there, but I did completely try to ruin trivia about being Ron Burgundy and just reading what was directly in front of me. He just did it again. He told the answer before I could guess. Yeah, I knew it was for us, Scott. But, well, then later you caught yourself. You're about to read the answer again. You know, you goes, you stopped yourself. Oh, I think I just read the answer again.
Starting point is 00:13:09 You almost read it, did it again. Yeah, I might leave the trivia to you. I'm more of a single guy. You know, I'm happy to participate thanks to the bar, but I think I learned trivia readings, not for me. Well, speaking of single, we've got a big announcement. We're going to start having single now every Tuesday night. With such a huge success this summer at KS Bar and Grill, we're going to have single every Tuesday night. George Thompson, our guy that does it.
Starting point is 00:13:29 He does Singo at Chinquipin Brewery in Georgetown on Thursdays. He's going to do it at our place on Tuesdays. I don't know if it starts this Tuesday. We'll find that one when it officially starts, but every Tuesday night we're going to have Singo. Singo is a big hit. The first time I ever saw it, I was on vacation in Florida, and I went to this place, and they were doing this thing called Singo, and I'm like, what is this? I don't know, but it's kind of fun, and I'm glad that we're now doing it at KS Bar.
Starting point is 00:13:50 I don't want to turn this into just KS Bar radio, but, The TBT game, Friday. Friday. I'm really bummed. I can't make it. So I'm hoping people will join me there. Yeah, we'll have another watch party. I have been so into that, clearly, if anyone has seen videos from Monday.
Starting point is 00:14:02 I've been very passionate about TVT. Mario can't go either, so we're hoping to have some fun in Lexington. Have a big watch party. Well, tonight we have a blink 182 pre-concert party. And then tomorrow night, I mean, Friday night. With the hits. I mean, I feel like they have something all the time over there. I wasn't like that a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:14:19 They've done a really good job. They've picked up their game with the concerts. Just this summer, they've had Justin Timberlake, Olivia Rodriguez, and now Blink 182 here just this summer. So come out to a pre-concert party at KS Bar. Tomorrow night we'll have the game on for a watch party for TBT. All right, guys, we were at Clark's Pump and Shop in Midway. It is just off the interstate. Off of I-64, you go north.
Starting point is 00:14:41 If you go south, they've got the McDonald's over there on that side. It's on the other side. It's fairly new. It hasn't been here that long. And come on out and say how. We've got a couple more gift cards to giveaway. You can download the Clark's Pump and Shop app for monthly specials. Ryan for Drew Sharshan. We'll be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments, that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games,
Starting point is 00:15:27 from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice. On the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast,
Starting point is 00:15:41 or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up, guys? This is Cliver Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue of 42. Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
Starting point is 00:16:12 What? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Why is everyone obsessed with romance right now? Like everyone? Your co-worker who, quote-unquote, doesn't read, is reading romance. Your mom, book talk, the entire internet.
Starting point is 00:16:41 I'm Sanjana Basker. I'm Tyler McCall. And this is Radio 831, a romance podcast. The books, the tropes, the adaptations, the drama, the discourse. And what all of it says about how we actually love yearn and obsess. We're going to Wuthering Heights, which, for the record, is not a romance novel.
Starting point is 00:17:02 And yet it has haunted the romance genre for 200 years. We're getting into dark romance, age gaps, certain Russian hockey players. And sentient objects, in love, which is a thing. That's the kind of conversation we're having every episode. Listen to the Radio 831 podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, welcome back.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Kentucky Sports Radio live at the new Clark's Pumping Shop in Midway for Woodford County Day. How about at 10.30 we do, we start our Woodford County Facts. Maybe we'll kind of split it up throughout the show. Did you do some Woodford County research last night? You're ready to go? I got up early and did it. We were busy at the bar. This week, I'm not complaining, but I feel like I've had something every minute.
Starting point is 00:17:48 I get in bed, get right back up. So this morning I jumped on it. I really didn't have to do that much research. Big Woodford County fan. I have a lot of restaurants. Yes. Yeah, I don't want to give to me spoilers. I'm ready to go, and I agree we should do it earlier.
Starting point is 00:17:59 We don't want to put it off and forget and not complete the tour. How about you, Mr. Dude? Oh, yeah. I mean, I was up all night studying. You know me. I always do my homework. Wilson, we'll do that at 1030. I believe we may have a Woodford County official, like Chamber of Commerce or the mayor of Midway,
Starting point is 00:18:15 whose last name, by the way, is Vandigriff. Ah, yeah. Mayor of Midway even had their own mayor. How about that? Good for Midway. They should have been there. So we'll do our Woodford County stuff at 1030. Do you know why they call it Midway?
Starting point is 00:18:27 I do. I know the story. I was going to say it. Go ahead if you know. Well, it's midway between Lexington and Frankfurt. I think somebody needs to fact check me. It originally used to be started like Midwayville or something like that. That's stupid just called Midway. Yeah. Somebody said, let's just kind of start it to me.
Starting point is 00:18:44 The train that used to go from Lexington to Frankfurt, the train depot was right here in the middle, and the distance, and it was Midway. So that's how Midway was developed. Because midway between Lexington and Frankfurt. Midway doesn't have like a first name, like John. Jonathan Midway or anything like that. I know you like to give first names to things. If you want to, we can call it Jonathan Midway.
Starting point is 00:19:03 Okay, I like that. Midway University, right down the street. Now, it's co-ed was a female university for ever and ever and ever. Now it's co-ed. They have basketball teams now. I believe they even have baseball teams, soccer teams. They've really expanded in the last several years. I mean, I'm careful.
Starting point is 00:19:21 I don't want to give too much more away. We're just jumping right in. This is all good stuff. We love Midway. It's where we always meet to go to Louisville at the McDonald's, and it's like our regular breakfast spot on the way out of town. That McDonald's over there is big for KSR Road Trips. We just know that's where we're meeting if there's a Louisville trip.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Yep, this is right over there, then McDonald's. All right, 959-2802-287. That's our Clark's Pump and Shop phone number. Who's our first caller, Matt? Steph, go ahead, Steph. Hey, guys. Hey, Steph. I was telling Shannon Monday that I had fun Friday at the show.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Yeah, yeah, thanks for coming. Oh yeah, sorry I couldn't make it, but it looked like you had fun. I saw your pictures. Yeah. Hey, also, I had my first softball tournament Saturday. You get your first softball tournament Saturday. Well, good luck to you, Steph. We hope you do well.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Hey, and then I wanted to say you all did a great job this summer. Well, thank you, Steph. Thank you very much. We appreciate the phone call. Steph's one of our good caller. Yeah, she was there at the concert Friday night. Yes. K.S. Bar where Shannon was rocking it out.
Starting point is 00:20:25 She even brought me some vintage Chi-Chi's margarita glasses. No way. Put in my bar. How much did you love that? Oh, I loved it. It was like the best things you could have given me for a gift. So, yeah, I've got some Chi-Chi's glasses now. Is that now your most prize position outside of the radio belt?
Starting point is 00:20:43 That was that, the Phoenix Hill Fountain, and the Chi-Chi's glasses. That's it. Yep. Yoga Girl and I were just talking about the Chi-Chi's where it was in Lexington. You know where it used to be? Well, see, I always wins Evansville. Yeah. I'll bore that one out in Evansville.
Starting point is 00:20:55 We didn't get to Lexington. I could drive you right to the other than Elgin. Where was it in Lexington? Where Target is, kind of in front of Target, where that Arby's is, and there's a jewelry shop right there. First watch, yeah. And Lowell was in the Bachelored Manor Mall. If anybody ever revives Chee-Chi's, you will officially be my hero. Like, I will go into business with you.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I will. Be an investor. Yeah, I will. I don't have the money for it, but I would love to start a small town that just has like a blockbuster, a Chi-Chi's Radio Shack. Because you can go back in time for an afternoon. to a little going around the square. I've got a throwback town. Well, on the Nicholasville Road there,
Starting point is 00:21:31 Chi-Chi's on one side, and right across Nicholasville Road was Daryl's. Another hit. I know. Again, I had to go to the Evansville location. I liked Daryls because I'm young. I'm a kid, and they may serve my food in a plastic dump truck, and I got to take it home. I had like 10 dump trucks at home.
Starting point is 00:21:47 You know, in Evansville, Chi-Chi's and Daryl were almost kind of across the street from each other on the Green River Road. And RIP to Daryl and T. There we go. All right, 859-2-802-287. Our cars pump-much out phone number if you want to call and get on board. I do want to talk a little bit about Shannon and I. We were movie stars earlier this week.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Calm down. Behind the scenes on Instagram. Tell me about that. Movie stars. Shannon and I were getting to star in a grain commercial for the moonshine trail. That's right. Yeah, they put you in the little moonshine truck, which was made out of wood. It was.
Starting point is 00:22:19 But still was functional and running? Yeah, I mean, that was built in like 1929. Something like that. Yeah, that was really cool. Do you still remember your lines? Hey, I'm Ryan Lemon, and we know Kentucky like nobody else. See, there you go. I remember that one.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Yeah, we don't want to spoil the whole thing. That's true. Wow. That was good. But Shannon really practiced his, he had the last line in the whole commercial. And he practiced and practiced, and even when I sat down today, he goes, man, I should have delivered it this way. You ever do something and then go back later and feel like, you know, I could have maybe nilled that a little bit better? I'm having that, like, feeling right now.
Starting point is 00:22:52 They had me do it three or four times, but I feel like maybe that fifth time I would have really nailed it. We'll try it with Drew. Let him hear it, and he'll pick the one you should have used. So the line was, the line was, come get your shine on on the moonshine trail. Yeah. I just wanted to maybe enunciate things and, like, you know, ended on a high note instead of a low note and just things like that. Sure. I wanted to say it like, come get your shine on on the moonshine trail.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I wanted to emphasize yours. Oh, that's good. That's really good. It's more personal. I didn't do it, though. I didn't do it there, though. So now I just feel like I'm just up there. reading a teleprompter.
Starting point is 00:23:24 And I don't know that I gave him my best effort. So if you can somehow, like, you're listening, Monshine Trail, if you can somehow, like, patch in this voiceover that I just gave you a minute ago, let's do that. Let's run that one. Let's all get quiet. You do it one more time. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Ready. Action. Hold on. Kind of nervous. Can you count me down? Yeah. Three, two, one. Come get your shine on on the moonshine trail.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Oh, he nailed. That's a great yore. I don't even know how you did that. That's impressive. I feel like you're talking to me when you say that. Kind of had like an out-of-body experience. And his first line in the commercial, he goes, you know, hey, I'm Shannon the dude. But he did it a little special.
Starting point is 00:24:02 He did, hey, I'm Shannon the dude. Oh, you know. I'm excited to see this. Yeah, I am too. Hopefully we don't look like a couple of idiots. And there was no oversized donut for me to sit on in this commercial. Just strictly on me. Oh, whoa, yeah, they did.
Starting point is 00:24:15 But we've got to mention that. The fact they had to bring out the booster seat. Oh, that's true. So Ryan is sitting in this. in this truck and they had to bring up the booster seat for Ryan to sit on because he wasn't high enough in the shot. So like Ryan's head was like down at the bottom of where the like the window would be. So they had to boost him up a couple of inches on this big wooden block. I was like a little kid, you know, looking out, barely out the window riding with his dad.
Starting point is 00:24:41 That's what I looked like. So I'd give me a booster seat so I can sit up a little bit and not look such like a little kid. They put them in a child seat basically. You would have been a terrible bootlegger back in the day. I would have been a terrible bootlegger. 859-2802-287 our Clark's Pubment Shop phone number I do want to tell you a funny story So I told you, you know, we took Dane out to eat Tuesday night
Starting point is 00:24:58 Because they reported to camp on Wednesday So we're just kind of talking And he starts talking to Josiah about, hey You play the game much College football game Of course So we started asking Dan do you play it? He goes Oh man, I play it all the time
Starting point is 00:25:10 I said When Josiah plays with these friends He screams and talks smack like I've never heard before my life A lot of naughty words come out of that boy's mouth Dane said, oh, we're the same way. I said, who you play with? He said, anybody, guys on the team. So we all get in the group chat, and we're all playing each other.
Starting point is 00:25:29 The intensity and the competition, I think it comes out in these guys on the field, also comes out when they're playing this game. I can certainly believe it and I've seen it with just regular gamers, but the players, you know, we might get to talk to some of them at Media Day tomorrow. We'll have to ask them what it's like. Are they playing with themselves? Do they get mad when their character drops the ball? I mean, this game's one of the most popular games of all time,
Starting point is 00:25:53 but this is the first time ever that the actual players are in it. So that has to be a little weird turning it on, and maybe you're controlling your guy and not doing you want them to do. I wonder if that's a weird dynamic. So if you're in the game, like, you know, I'm a wide receiver. I'm throwing to me every time. I'm calling my number every time. I also wonder if these guys, like, maybe feel like they get slighted on the ratings?
Starting point is 00:26:11 Oh, yeah. Like, what if you look at there in your ratings, like, 65 out of a hundred? Did you see Barry on Brown's video when his rating came out? He had a very low strength. I mean, he had great with speed and everything else. He's one of the best players on there, but his strength was really low. So he put a video on Instagram with him just doing push-ups in the locker room and, like, clapping. Clapping push-ups.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Like, come on, E. Well, I asked Dane if he plays as himself, and he goes, I started to, but then I found myself throwing to myself every single time. Yeah. And it kept getting intercepted. Oh. So he does not play as himself for that reason. He goes, I kept losing because I kept trying to throw it to myself every single game.
Starting point is 00:26:45 But he is getting these screenshots of, especially from kids, showing Dane winning the Heisman at the end of the season. season. And they're sending it to him. He loves that. So if you got him, winning the Hiseman, send it to him. All right, well, take our break. Come back. Ryan, Drew and Shannon here. Clark's Pumping Shop in Midway, Kentucky. We'll talk a little Woodford County when we come back on Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode,
Starting point is 00:27:14 we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaders to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:27:53 What's up, guys? This is Clever Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Starting point is 00:28:12 Time out. Quarterback on office, Blue, 42. A rep, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to The Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Why is everyone obsessed with romance right now?
Starting point is 00:28:36 Like everyone. Your co-worker who, quote unquote, doesn't read, is reading romance. Your mom, book talk, the entire internet. I'm Sanjana Basker. I'm Tyler McCall. And this is Radio 831, a romance podcast. The books, the tropes, the adaptations, the drama, the discourse. And what all of it says about how we actually love, yearn, and obsess.
Starting point is 00:29:03 We're going to Weathering Heights. Which, for the record, is not a romance novel. And yet it has haunted the romance genre for 200 years. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J., he'll make them pay.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. No, you podcast listeners can't hear it, but we're playing John Conley. Why are we playing John Connolly, Mr. Dude? Well, John Connolly is from Woodford County. Yes, he is. Born in, do we call it Versailles or Versailles? Oh, it's for sales. It's for sales. Okay. Are you some foreigner?
Starting point is 00:29:59 It's for sales, Kentucky. I've heard some people say Versailles. Well, in Paris, in France it is. Yeah. Well, anyway, rose color glasses was a huge song. You may know that song. Yeah. It peaked at number six.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Lady lay down, I think. It peaked at number five in the U.S. number six on the Canadian country charts. I didn't know they had Canadian country charts, but it was a huge song, spent 20 weeks on the charts. John Conley, Woodford Proud. Woodford Proud. There we go, John Conley. All right, Drew, what do you got for us on Woodford County?
Starting point is 00:30:27 I'm a big fatty, so I want to talk about food. Why is that so funny? You're not a fatty. You like to eat wings, though. I like food. I'm a foodie, though. Big restaurant guy. I love a good restaurant. In Midway, I'll start there. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Several, I mean, heirloom. Come on. That's a classic. People travel from all over Kentucky to go eat in Midway. You got Wallace Station. Yes. Is it the Piz Gah? Pike with it. Pickska.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Pickska. Yeah, that beautiful drive and you can go to Wallace Station for lunch for dinner. I think that's a famous thing. I've done that a few times on a Sunday. You also have the Holly Hill Inn. Oh, yes. We can go over to Versailles. Velosi's Italian just opened up about a year ago.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Amsden Coffee. Remember we did our show down there in the little downtown square. Oh, I remember that, yeah. Freddie took me to Tikira Bikara. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right. Did you go with us there Mexican restaurant downtown? Got me a little hat. It's my Mowing hat.
Starting point is 00:31:20 See me, Moines. I'm wearing their hat. Freddie was so excited to take us to his favorite Mexican restaurant in Versailles. And you're nodding because you know all of these. These are certainly hits. But there's one, I don't think you've even considered, that you and I both love. Do Daddy's Donuts. Oh, my.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Yeah. People have the Lexington debate, and there's lots of good donuts all over Lexington. I hit them all frequently. But one that doesn't get mentioned enough, when you're going down Versailles Road, Do Daddies, where you get a free donut, if you fill up there, but we prefer Clark's get your fuel here. but Do Daddy's Donuts is a hidden gym over there on Versailles Road. If you're leaving Lexington and you're going to the Bluegrass Parkway,
Starting point is 00:31:57 if you're going to Bowling Green or Madisonville anywhere, it's a must to stop at Dooddies before you get on the bluegrass parkway. Sometimes you've got to risk your life crossing traffic there. But that's one that when I think of Woodford County, it needs to be included. So we'll get to some of the highlights of Woodford County and some of the tourist attraction and things like that, but we wanted to kind of focus on the food. And the other thing I think in this segment is the bourbon. Oh, of course.
Starting point is 00:32:18 They call themselves to the birthplace of bourbon. Well, is it, is this true? Is the Woodford Reserve Distillery, the oldest distillery in Kentucky? I think it might be the oldest one. It is, according to Ronald Lemon, it absolutely is. We'll make it it. We'll make it so. Yeah, they've got several.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Woodford is obviously the most known. I mean, Woodford County, Woodford Reserve. Castle and Key has had a big revamp. Several bottles of Castle Key in my house. I've not made it out there, but I hear that's one of the better tours also. But there's a little, you know, lots of people want to claim bourbon, but Rufford County calls himself the birthplace of Bourbon. I mean, if they're going to say it, I'm going to believe it.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I believe the Woodford Reserve was called something else when it was originally built, but if you count that, they're the oldest distillery. And it's a good tour. Have you taken the tour out of Woodford Reserve? I have done Woodford. Yeah, that's really cool. Me and Corey James went there. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:33:07 We got a little slap-happy and just laughed the whole time. We almost had to leave the tour because we got to the point. Why did you get slap happy? Bourbon tends to do that. Because we're both children, but it got to one of the points where we just were laughing at the fact that we were laughing. And it was just a never-ending cycle. It couldn't stop. We had to step away, but I haven't been to Woodford County.
Starting point is 00:33:23 I've been to the Woodford Reserve a couple times. It always amazes me. You go in that one room, that big vat when they make it, and it just stinks. Whoa. Smells great. It's a beautiful smell. If I can make that into a candle, I would. The fermentation tank?
Starting point is 00:33:40 Not the finish tank. The fermentation thing. It smells like bourbon. Whoa. Put my nose in it if they'd let me. It smells like a Saturday night. You ever drink the white dog on a bourbon? tour. It's the extra
Starting point is 00:33:50 strength alcohol before it's cut down. What's, is it? Is it Angels envy? Is that what the vapor is? They call it the Angel Share. Angel Share, yeah. When you lose it. That's right. That's what it is. So, yeah, some really cool restaurants to eat here in Versailles and in Midway.
Starting point is 00:34:06 I didn't even make half of them. Well, go ahead. No, no. I'm just saying there's so many there. I just named those. Those are some of my favorites. But it is a great county to find some food. And then if you need some gas, you come to Clark's Pubit Shop to return, refresh, refuel. Absolutely. Are we saving the notable people for later? Yes.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Because there's a lot of those. Yeah, we're going to save that for another segment. We just kind of hit it there just a little bit. Okay. So we want to hear from you, 859-2-80-2-8-7. That's our Clark's Puppet Shop phone number, 859-2-80-2-8-7. Are you okay, by the way, we've not checked on you today from your... About what?
Starting point is 00:34:34 Your butt-wooping you got a TVT tournament. Actually, I still feel it. I don't want to give them. Do you seriously? Yeah, I was laying a bed last night. Man, this guy got me good. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:41 I'm all right, though. Minor setback. Okay. You can get hazard pay if you want to. I mean, we're still moving on in the tournament. I don't know what they're doing. What are they playing in the Bahamas or something? I see Louisville's down there beating up on the Bahamas national team.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Oh, are they? Yeah, I haven't followed it closely, but I think that's what the cards are up to right now. Now, your favorite NFL quarterback is Will Levis. Got to be, because he's the quarterback of your team, Tennessee Titans. He's been in the news the last week or so for a couple, kind of two completely opposite things. We'll start with kind of the discipline, not disappointing, but his little, situation he was in. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:35:18 He was in Italy, and he wanted to work out. So I think the story goes, he hopped a fence to work out on a soccer field, and they came and did they arrest him. Yeah, I don't know if he got fully arrested, but he certainly caused a little international incident where the police had to come. You know, Will Levis, clearly a man that likes to work out. Yeah. Certainly likes it more than I do.
Starting point is 00:35:40 He does it much more than I do, and he just decided on vacation. I need to go throw a football around and he got on a nearby field like people do and they didn't know what was going on I think so he had to deal with the local authorities So Ryan you would never jump over a fence and get onto a field and run around I would never do anything like that Especially with the sprinklers on and making big mud prints
Starting point is 00:35:58 As I walk around the field I would never even want to exercise on vacation I think that's crazy Well that's the point to look at it If you're a Titans fan, I'll look at him He's working out while he's on vacation He's in Italy yeah I will say the pre-season excitement around Levis
Starting point is 00:36:11 has been high The Titans, I don't think, are going to be very good. The offense is going to be much better. But it has been interesting. As we predicted, Valls fans just trashed him for a month around the draft. We don't want him. This guy stinks. Look, he threw an interception against Georgia.
Starting point is 00:36:25 He's going to be the worst. Now they love him. I mean, Vals fans worship Will Levis. As we all predicted would happen, now it's finally in front of us. We'll see how the season goes, but they are pretty fired up about him in Nashville. But they didn't detain him or anything, but the police were called because he had jumped the fence, playing on empty, vacant soccer field, right? I mean, QB1's got to work out somewhere.
Starting point is 00:36:46 You got to work out somehow. So that was the first thing he was kind of the news for. People take their fields a little too seriously. Yeah. You know? Like maybe, you know, soccer fields and other countries are more important than they are here. But like the Little League World Series, come on. We weren't doing any harm. We weren't doing any harm.
Starting point is 00:37:02 You were just living out your lifelong dream of running the bases at the Little League World Series. The gates were just locked for no reason. We don't need the FBI. We don't need to be involved. Homeland Security? You know, the underreported story from me jumping the fence at Williamsburg, was Shannon did it first. Like, come on, man, let's go.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Shannon jumps over, and then as soon as I jump over, Shannon jumps back. It's always the second guy that gets called. And I did. You should know that. You know, I'm not going to say any names, but there may be a group of athletes that maybe have done that in Lexington, and I think got chased by the security guy maybe at Henry Clay and got away. The difference, by the way, in me and you is I jumped over the fence and then immediately jumped right back. You jumped on the field and ran all the way down. I'm not going to wait
Starting point is 00:37:44 around. We're on the field and go. All the way up the left field line to third base and then proceeded to run around every base as the sprinklers came on. And I'm happy to do it. Okay, the other reason Will Levis was in the news, he made it official. He has a new girlfriend, Drew. He's in love again. And we know who she, well, we don't know her personally, but we know who she is because she's a former bachelorette. Oh, she was on the bachelor as a contestant. Was it Pilot Steve's season? I think it's Pilot Pete Pilot Pete
Starting point is 00:38:11 Telling them myself there Well what are you talking about it? I've never seen that show You guys are on your own here I've never seen that show You know Pilot Pete She was a contestant
Starting point is 00:38:22 And I She's been on the show twice I think she's on a second time She's one of the Bachelor Nation people I guess that becomes a career If you don't get picked You just you get to be a bachelor contested
Starting point is 00:38:32 Just keep getting rejected And I feel like they all moved to Nashville Yes they all seem to move to Nashville You can't walk down Broadway without running into someone that was on The Bachelor or Bachelorette. So that is the new love interest. The new love interest for Will Levis. So I expect him to have a good season this year.
Starting point is 00:38:47 I do worry about finding love right as camp starts. I don't know. I don't know her. Maybe it's good for him. I do have distraction concerns. You know, we want to be completely focused. And it sounds like he's focused, working out on vacation in Italy. But it is a side story that has a lot of legs around Nashville as they're starting football camp.
Starting point is 00:39:06 What do the man just likes being in love, you know? What do you think his legacy is here in Kentucky? Eating bananas. Was that the first thing you thought of? It is, but I mean, you know, the 10 and 3 season was pretty impressive, too. You know, Alyssa Lang talked about that when she was on the show with us. You know, she did that bit where she ate the banana. It was everywhere.
Starting point is 00:39:25 After he did it, it went everywhere. Yeah, and we just, the excitement around him, we never had a quarterback that could throw it around like that. I mean, he wasn't perfect and he lost some games. Maybe they should have won. But just that dude, and even his little, like, what do you call it, just the NFL workouts in an empty gym, just when he threw the ball, it was unbelievable. You could hear it coming off of his hand. So I just remember him for some of the throws he would make.
Starting point is 00:39:48 859-2-802-287. That's our Clark's Pubbyshop phone number. We'll take our break, come back. More Woodford County facts. We'll get to you when I want to do points of interest. Sure. Maybe more food? If you know some more.
Starting point is 00:40:00 I've had a big life experience there, a couple of them. We've got to get to that for sure. And we also need a Woodford County caller. For sales midway, you need a call from you. 859-2-80-228-7. Ryan, Shannon, this is Kentucky Sports Radio. We'll be right back. Last night, a blown call changed a game.

Starting point is 00:41:03 network on TikTok. What's up, guys? This is Clever Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Clivert Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this kid.
Starting point is 00:41:17 This linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue of 42. Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Hey, Ms. Park.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Why is everyone obsessed with romance right now? Like everyone. Your co-worker who, quote-unquote, doesn't read, is reading romance. Your mom, book talk, the entire internet. I'm Sanjana Basker. I'm Tyler McCall. And this is Radio 831, a romance podcast.
Starting point is 00:42:05 The books, the tropes. The adaptations, the drama, the discourse. And what all of it says about how we actually love, yearn, and obsess. We're going to Weathering Heights. Which, for the record, is not a romance novel. And yet it has haunted the romance genre for 200 years. We're getting into dark romance, age gaps, certain Russian hockey players. And sentient objects, in love, which is a thing.
Starting point is 00:42:32 That's the kind of conversation we're having every episode. Listen to the Radio 831 podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio. I and Drew and Shannon live at the new Clark's Puppet Shop in Midway, just off the interstate in Midway. We're out of our gift cards. We've already given them away. But now, if you come out, since it's about lunchtime, you can get a chicken sandwich or three-piece bone-in fried chicken or chicken tenders with a side of wedges for only six. I forgot about those wedges. Those are just as good as the chicken sandwich.
Starting point is 00:43:10 They are, absolutely. So we've got a little lunch special going on right now while we're out here doing the show. 599. You can't eat much for 599. No, you can't. That's a good meal. No, you can't. It is Woodford County Day. We started down the countdown of the counties back and during COVID. We picked it up this summer while Matt was gone. I think we had 13 to go, and we're at number 120. We were at Woodford County. We talked last segment about the bourbon and about the great restaurants. Now we want to talk about points of interest. I'll go first, and we want you to go last. If Woodford County is known probably for two things,
Starting point is 00:43:46 bourbon and horses. And they've got two of the most famous horse farms in the world. If Woodward Reserve is the oldest and maybe most famous bourbon distillery, these two horse farms, maybe the two most famous right now in the world. Three Chimneys Farm, located really close to where we're at right now, they had Triple Crown Winner Seattle Slew. And they've had several great horses out there. I know Smarty Jones was out there, Big Red, you know, some Kentucky Derby winners.
Starting point is 00:44:14 But their most famous one is Seattle Sloughs, no doubt. The other most famous horse farm is Windstar Farm. Just down from the castle, they had Triple Crown Winter Justify. And they are the most, maybe the most successful horse farm right now, going right now. They have all kinds of steaks winners and everything. So when I think of Woodford County, I think of the bourbon and of the horse farm. But there's another horse farm that's got a little good story. Yeah, those two farms are great, but did either of those two farms ever host Queen Elizabeth?
Starting point is 00:44:42 Oh, yeah, Lanes End Farm hosted Queen Elizabeth during her visit to Kentucky back in May of 2007. That's pretty cool. Imagine having Queen Elizabeth just stay at your place. I remember that was a big deal when she came over for the Kentucky Derby and stayed out there at the farm. I mean, you've got to think your accommodations better be on point. The Queen's coming to stay there. I wonder, like, what level of, like, preparation do you have to have for Queen Elizabeth? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Like, you know, do you get her, does she have a rider like she's a rock star coming in? You know, like, a request of, like, things that you have to have? Do you have just a bottle of Colgate toothpaste there in her bathroom? I mean. No, I think she has to probably get her own, like, you know, specific brand. I'd say she has someone brush her teeth. Maybe so. She just sits there and someone brushes her teeth.
Starting point is 00:45:28 I don't think. She's the queen. Why would you brush her own teeth? She opens her mouth like a horse. Just get in there. So, Whitford Distillery, these three horsefarm, but the most famous spot in Woodford County is what, Drew? It is the Kentucky Castle. I took a knee there and got engaged on the roof of the castle.
Starting point is 00:45:45 So that has a pretty significant place with me and my now wife, Abby. And, of course, I mean, everyone knows the castle just from driving by it if you're coming from Western Kentucky out there, just anywhere down Varsale's Road. Lots of mystery about the castle, lots of rumors. But I don't think a lot of people know that in the last several years, it's really, really been redone up and you can go in there. There's a restaurant, spa, a hotel. You've stayed there before. But, yeah, the castle is one of the other
Starting point is 00:46:10 biggest things in Versailles in Woodford County. And that's where I happen to take a knee and get in-propose. Up on the roof. Yep. Up on the rooftop. That's how you do it right there. He mentioned a lot of mystery there. You know, they also have murder mysteries there. Yes. Oh, that's right. You and I went there. Ryan dressed up like a night
Starting point is 00:46:27 and ended up winning best costume for the night. Best costume? I got a free weekend stay and I haven't used it yet. I have a great video of us from there, too, where we're all dressed up. That was a fun night. Yeah, I was there, too. Abbey went as a dragon, I think. That was a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:46:40 They do some great events out there at the castle now. And you're right, there's a lot of mystery and stories behind it, like this man and this woman. They toured Germany, and they came back and decided to build a castle similar to what they saw in Germany. But while they were building it, they got a divorce. So it stayed unfinished for years and years and years. Guy finally bought it. He started refinished. Michael Jackson, right?
Starting point is 00:47:01 Isn't that who bought it? I don't know if it was Michael Jackson. But whoever bought it while they were finishing it, it caught on fire. Remember? I mean, that was a big story that day, and it caught on fire? So as a realtor, do you know, like, the estimated value of the castle? Because that's got to be way up there in value. Not like Zillow.
Starting point is 00:47:18 It's got to be on Zillow. Yeah. Well, let's look it up. I know it was for sale one time for $3 million. How do you look it up? That's before it was refinished. Yeah, going much higher than that now. I mean, it's probably closer to $15 million or something.
Starting point is 00:47:31 I would just guess. have no idea, but all the land that comes with it. And you mentioned the restaurant, all the food that is served is raised on their property. Yeah, farmed-to-table. Farm-to-table, the meat and everything is raised on their property. When we got engaged, we spent the night there in the next morning. I had family show up, surprise there, and we had brunch there. It was so good.
Starting point is 00:47:51 Yeah. Yeah, the food is very good. Did I mention, have I ever said on the story how I proposed, have a little twist? I don't know if you've told the whole story. We got time. Go ahead. Abby came home from work, and I was already at the castle, set up on the roof, ready to go. She had no clue what was going on.
Starting point is 00:48:08 And I had an open suitcase and a note. It was like, pack a bag. This is kind of what you're, what you'll need to wear a little bit. We were supposed to be going to Nate Bergotsie that night. So she was coming home thinking we're going to Nate Bergotsie. Okay. But I had a black SUV from Goldschild pull up and get her. At this point, she has no idea where she's going.
Starting point is 00:48:25 She gets in. The driver, she did not know this, was her own brother wearing a, disguise. He looked like an idiot. I say that would love Michael. He had a fake mustache, a little hat, even wore a fake wedding ring. And I thought, there's no way this is going to work at all. She's texting me. I don't know where this guy's taking me. He's not talking. Should I tip? He didn't help me getting the could in help with my bag. And I'm thinking she really doesn't know her own brother is driving. That's hilarious. She drives him or he drives her pretty much across town, pulls up in front of the castle, lets her out, helps her with the bag. And then she comes up to the
Starting point is 00:48:57 roof where I'm waiting. She not one time knew that was her own brother. I never knew it. I never knew it. So the next morning he showed up at brunch wearing the mustache. And she was like, were you my chauffeur? And it was him the whole time. That is impressive. I could not believe it worked.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Could not believe it. But he drove her there in full disguise and she didn't know. As good as a performance, as you did that night, his performance was equally as good. And it was his idea because, you know, I asked him for permission beforehand. He had that idea and I thought, you know, I want to clude him. They're very close. It's her brother. But I just don't think this is going to work.
Starting point is 00:49:28 She would have probably believed it. She had no idea. recognize those look in his eyes. Maybe do you have sunglasses on? He had sunglasses. And he would just grunt when she would ask questions. But it worked. Couldn't believe it.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Oh, wow. A little experience. All right. So now I've got the amount of money that it was sold for in 2017. Do you want to take a guess? Well, this is after it was refinished, so I'll guess. Yeah, it was a $2 million renovation, so I'll give you the start there. I'll guess.
Starting point is 00:49:51 A little under. Little under. Do you want to take a guess? I'll go under. Whatever Ryan said. I said $12 million. Yeah. So it was $8.7 million.
Starting point is 00:50:00 8.7 million. Sorry, I was reading something Mario was showing me there, so I have no clue what you all were just talking about. I got a little distracted. The price of the castle. Pocket change. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:08 That's about what I would have guessed. I would have said around 10, 12. You know, we were also out there for the country music songwriters. Oh, I forgot about those. I just remember that. I missed those so much. Those were so good. Please bring those back.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Who is it, De Vincent Williams? De Vincent Williams. God, that really was one of my favorite things, because, I mean, they're songwriters. You don't really know the names to get there, but then they tell the stories of how these famous songs came to be and they play it. I miss those.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Those are a lot of fun. Tell the story of the song and then they play the song. It was awesome. There was always four of them. Four songwriters out there that have written some big time major song. We never missed it. So that's kind of some more Woodford County. We haven't even got to the famous people yet.
Starting point is 00:50:45 That's right. So there's a lot of people we need to talk about. What I have in County. And I'd like to mention while I'm in Woodford County, I'm sweating through my t-shirt. It is very, very hard. Should I change? Look at this. It is very, very, very hot.
Starting point is 00:50:55 I have got sweat stains all over the place. 8592-2-802. I know some people. one hole. Just hang with us, man. It's Whitford County Day. We're excited. We're at Clark's Puppet Shop, return, refresh, referral, refuel. We come back. You guys got to had a homework question. Oh, yeah. You got to get to our homework question. There's the, there's the picture of us dressed up for the murder mystery. Tweet that out, Jared, Drew, tweet that out. Janet. Did you just call
