insurance companies 120 counties they're in they will come wherever you are it's a visionglass
dot com we are here in hopkinsville when we first started the show the chairs were full and i was like
look at this packed house and now the same people are here but half of them moved into the shade
shannon because it's a little hot outside but we still got folks in front of us ready to
getting a little warm on the black top but i've just been impressed with this crowd here at
hodkinsville showing up so yeah thanks to everybody for being here great crowd in august it's it's not
even season in August.
We are, where are we going the rest of the month?
We're going the Kentucky State Fair one day.
That's next Thursday.
Next Thursday, we're at the Kentucky State Fair for the kickoff the Kentucky State Fair.
Monday's our golf scramble.
Monday is our golf scramble in Lexington.
Congrats to the guy who won yesterday.
A lot of people sent me there.
I sent the winner, the first person to guess, 237.
I did like I got a message from somebody last night.
They looked at the picture I took in Hopkinsville and it said,
you guys don't look a day over 236, which I thought was a really good line.
But it seemed like most people that struggle with the age, they really struggle with the fact
that Ryan is older than people think.
And so was Max.
That's where they messed up.
They kind of knew what the three of us and Mario were, but they thought you'd be like early 50s.
They thought Max was like mid-20s, and they didn't get those ages.
I got to be honest.
I was surprised when Max said he was 31.
I thought he was like 27.
That's what I would have guessed.
125 is the worst guess in the history of trivia.
It's a pretty terrible guest, and I don't mean to be mean to that guy,
but that is a pretty awful guest to think we average the age of 21 with all of us.
Let's talk about the Olympics for a second,
because yesterday was a banner day for the University of Kentucky.
We'll start with Sidney McLaughlin.
Give Sidney McLaughlin around the play.
You could make an argument.
that if you're just talking about dominating their sport,
Sidney McLaughlin might be the best athlete to ever go to Kentucky.
I mean, give me another athlete that dominates their sport,
like Sidney McLaughlin dominates the 400-meter hurdles.
I mean, nobody gets close to her.
It doesn't even look like Drew.
She is trying, and she blows everybody away, set another world record.
It's the sixth time in her career she set a world record.
So every fastest time is all her anyway.
Went to Kentucky.
Awesome to see yesterday.
Before that race, I guess they're trying to drum up interest.
I don't know, but they kept talking about bowl from the Netherlands and is Sydney going to do it again?
I don't know if bowl has crossed the finish line.
Yes, that gap was so wide.
That picture, that aerial picture of Sydney crossing the finish line, and there's just nothing but track behind her.
There's not another human in it.
Nobody wins by that.
It was insane.
I was going to say it's just one thing to do that at the University of Kentucky.
keep it. When you're competing against the best athletes in the world.
And you crush them. Yeah, it's incredible.
If you think about it, like, you don't see athletes that dominant Ryan.
I mean, Usain Bolt was like that. He just beat everybody.
Michael Johnson was like that back in the day.
But Sydney's in that group of like no one's close.
As far as like when it's still kind of considered somewhat of a sprint of 400,
usually the year coming down to the wire. You know, it's a close finish.
Like you guys said, second place was 10 yards behind her.
She ran the heart.
hurdles yesterday better than over half the Olympians in the regular 400 not jumping.
That's crazy.
That's insane.
That's an insane statistic, but that's what she's able to do.
Then you had Daniel Roberts, who went to Kentucky, came in second in the 110 meter hurdles
on the same day.
Kentucky has hurdle you, so you get a silver for Daniel Thomas who went to Kentucky.
and then the USA basketball team, if you didn't watch that game last night,
that fourth quarter of that USA Serbia basketball game is one of the better basketball games I've ever seen.
I mean, America with Steph Curry scores 36 points, LeBron,
Durant hits big shots, Embed had a little run that was great.
Devin Booker was locked down defense on Bogdanovich down the stretch.
you know, Serbia was still making shots, but like, Brian, I never would have thought that basketball game.
And then what I loved is when it was over, these basketball players are worth,
LeBron's probably worth a billion dollars.
And you could tell how much it meant to them.
They were hugging.
It's still cool that the Olympics can do something like that, even for dudes worth all this money.
That's the lasting image I think I'm going to have after the game,
LeBron and Steph Curry celebrating like they were
AAU or high school teammates and they just beat a big rival
or something. It's great to see him take that pride and get a big win like that.
And Kevin Durant had a quote after the tournament
or after the game, which I thought was a great quote.
And a lot of people, whether you're on the right or the left or in the middle
or just a human being, probably agree with this quote.
They said to Durant, they're like, you're often critical about stuff,
but you seem very patriotic.
And he said this quote.
I don't know if you saw it.
He said, in America there's a lot of BS, but there's also a lot of great stuff.
And I was like, yes, you're right.
He's right.
He's right.
And it was neat to see him say that and to see those guys drew.
I just really loved that yesterday.
My bad American, though, for thinking they were going to lose.
I did not feel great with about five minutes left.
They flipped that switch.
They were down 13 with 6.
seven minutes to go.
I was like, we cannot lose to Serbia.
Then they got so hot.
It looked like Serbia was not wanting to be there once Steph hit that three to go
by one.
Serbia started throwing it out of bounds.
But I thought they were in trouble.
So that was a pretty miraculous comeback.
If you haven't seen it, look it up.
The fourth quarter was great.
And then finally, Maasai Russell, another former Kentucky,
who's in the 110 meter hurdles.
They did a segment on her last night.
You need to look this up.
They did a segment on her, and at the end of it,
They had Carl Towns and Tyrese Maxi send video greetings and say, hey, from another wildcat, go Messiah Russell.
And then they talk about Big Blue Nation.
They do an interview where Maasai Russell says it's so cool how much Big Blue Nation is rooting for me.
On a worldwide stage, they were talking about the BBN Shannon.
That was great.
It's a big family, you know, and it's cool to see them reaching out to each other.
And again, let me look at the fan base that we have here.
keep going back to that.
But I mean, this is a big family that we have in this fan base.
But there's...
Avery Skitter in the volleyball, and she talked about Kentucky.
Well, she's out there in the Olympics.
Yeah, so just...
And I'm sure I'm missing somebody.
But we had...
We have three guys on the men's basketball team.
We had two guys on the Canadian team.
One guy on the South Sudan team.
We've had seven or eight people be competitive in track.
We had Lee Kiefer win the fencing.
We have...
We have...
We have Avery Skinner in volleyball.
We had a person in the diving finals.
I mean, the University of Kentucky, there are only two or three universities in the country that have had the Olympic, I think like Florida's had more and maybe Stanford and Texas, and then it's us, which is pretty amazing.
I remember when I first got to Lexington in the 96 Olympics.
I think University of Kentucky had two.
They had a track guy, Tim Hardin, and a baseball guy, Chad Green.
That was it, two.
Now you just rattled off like 12 people that are UK graduates that are in the Olympics.
So congrats to all of them.
It's been awesome to see.
Who's up next?
Bob is up next.
Bob, go ahead, Bob.
Good morning, KSR.
Good morning, Bob.
It's almost like they wind Bob up, and then he kind of gets going.
What do you got?
First thing they did was born, they smacked me.
My daddy looked at me and said,
son, life's going to be rough, so get used to it.
That was a different time.
I don't know that they suggest that now, but that's okay.
But a smack caused you to inflate.
your lungs.
Anyway, y'all has that
more interesting.
Yeah.
Well, all right, well, so what's your record?
What's our record in football going to be, Bob?
We're going to be good.
That's all I'm going to say.
You don't want to go on record?
Bob, that doesn't want to be shame if Bob's like you.
You don't want to go on record.
I'll go on record.
All right.
What do you got, Bob?
After 90 years, you quit going on
records.
Okay.
I'm just for the team.
All right, we'll have a good.
Nice to hear from.
You, 859, 2807.
By the way, breakdancing just started, Shannon, in the Olympics.
This is what I've been looking forward to the most.
I turned it on this morning.
You know, when they do the break dancing, they start.
Everybody has to start just going like this.
Yeah.
And then they get going, and then they're spinning, and I'm all in.
You've got to start with a little bit of rhythm, right?
Bouncing back and forward.
I think they have to.
I think they bounce so that they get the beat.
Get the momentum.
Right.
They get the momentum.
And then the next thing you know, they're spinning around.
And it's crazy to see, like, someone from the Philippines doing it.
Like, it's just crazy to see, like, people from all over the world doing this thing.
But I will say, it was kind of amazing to watch this morning.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to catching up on it.
But what's the music like?
Do you get to bring your own music?
Do you get to plug in?
No, I think that you don't know the music.
Okay.
So I think you have to, I think everyone gets the same music, but you don't get to hear it.
So that's why they take a second to sort of get the beat so that they can do it.
Gotcha.
I'm looking for watching that.
Mario, what are you laughing at?
Mario's laughing at by dancing.
You know, you watch it, Mario.
You think we can maybe teach you to break dance?
You think you have the athletic ability to maybe...
Just for the record.
Put Mario aside.
Yeah.
I'm the best dancer of this group.
Let's see it.
No, I mean, I'm not a break dancer, but let's be honest.
I've never seen you dance.
I've seen him dance, and it's surprising, but he does have good rhythm.
He's a good dancing.
True?
Yeah.
That's Janet Reno.
That's true.
I did grind with Jared and Janet Reno.
It's not the proudest moment of my life.
Who's up next?
Got Luke up next.
Luke, go ahead, Luke.
I just think it was an atrocious comment that we was kind of compared to Indiana.
Yes.
I mean, that might have been worse than the 125 guests from yesterday.
Yeah, I hate that because it's the thing that people want to be negative is they're like, let's not be Indiana.
but I mean, Indiana hasn't won a title in 37 years, but more importantly to me, take the last 20 years.
Indiana's had one good year.
They went on a tournament run in like 2003, two, whatever.
They weren't even good that year.
They just went on a run to the finals.
And then they've had one good season with Oladipo and the Zeller Kid, and even that year,
they lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
So I just, I refuse to take the IndiDiator.
Indiana comparison.
And I think go back and look at TBT suite of the $1 million theville game.
They was like, there's 49 other states and it's just basketball and this is Kentucky.
I don't think you pulled $13,000 into an arena for an alumni game.
Totally agree with you.
Totally agree with you.
I think I appreciate the call.
I think the Louisville and Kentucky TBT game is the real.
reason why Kentucky is definitively the best state for college basketball in America.
Better than Indiana, better than Kansas, better than North Carolina, because there's no other
place true where that would happen.
Yeah, and if Indiana hired a former coach, would they get even a thousand people on a Sunday
to go celebrate that like we had with Pope?
No comparison to the fan base, and certainly no comparison to the results of the last three
decades.
We've got three titles since they've had one.
How many times in these other places as a media member going to get pulled?
punch by a random fan.
That's true.
I think I'm unique in that.
Still filled a little bit.
Still.
Still.
You're not recovered yet.
Wow.
All right.
Who's up next?
Justin is up next.
Justin 859-280287.
Go ahead.
Hey, guys.
So I started a master's degree at Oklahoma this past spring, and I started getting emails from
the student union that said, I'm out to our 15th ranked basketball team, free entry and
two-dollar beers.
So my question...
$2 beer.
How much does that price go up when Kentucky starts playing them?
And then I got one...
Well, I mean...
Yeah, go ahead.
Who makes the KSR logo first?
Mario or Billy?
Oh, that's a great question.
I appreciate the call.
You know, that's a really great question.
I appreciate that.
You know, I don't know.
I don't know.
I mean, Billy, we probably put them both on at the same time to,
to do it.
But I think, you know.
We got room for one.
What are we doing?
No, you're not doing that to me.
Canvas isn't big enough.
You're not doing that to me.
One of the things I've liked over the years is watching the rivalries develop.
And there's going to be a Billy Mario rivalry.
I just feel it.
I feel like it's coming, Ryan, don't you?
Well, we talked a little bit about this last night.
Our road trip to Seattle, we probably can't take six of us.
We're who's going to not make the cut.
Billy's at a disadvantage where he has to live at the station on Saturday.
He has to do the games.
Tell me about stock to mortgage.
Stockton Mortgage. I told the story earlier this week, and somebody sent me a text
made that and think I made that up. I did not make it up. A couple used Stockton Mortgage to buy
their house. A couple years later, you know, sometimes you have an escrow shortage or your
property taxes go up or your insurance goes up, so your mortgage payment goes up.
They called their loan officer at Stockton Mortgage. Kind of asked some questions, and the guy
acted like they had never left each other. It'd been three years. That's why you got used
to Stockton Mortgage. They're your loan officer for life. They're not the length of your loan.
So give them a try. It's easy to apply online. Stockton.com. Hit the button, get started.
Stockton Morgan, NMLS, A259, Equal Housing Lender.
I forgot one person.
Trey Liles was on the Canadian team, too.
So actually seven basketball players from Kentucky played in the Olympics.
We will take a break and be right back here in Hopkinsville.

Welcome back here at Kentucky Sports Radio.
A Vision Glass in Hopkinsville.
Big thanks to the crowd here.
Staying out as the heat comes up, but we appreciate having everybody here.
Free burgers from Smashin' Beef Company here in Hopkinsville.
I think they said they have 100 burgers, so you got to, there's probably more than 100 people,
so make sure you get in line, Ryan, and get there.
Couple open lines.
I want to hear from you.
The phone calls, I wanted to take some today.
A little slow, 859, 280, 2287.
I will tell you what's not slow, Ryan, and I said this on Twitter,
and next to the coach thing, probably the thing I got the most response about.
I will vote for any politician in Kentucky who will run on banning political fundraising text messages.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
I made the mistake of donating to one, I've only donated to one candidate in my life,
and that was Craig running for mayor of Louis.
I guess they give each other their things.
Do you go on a big database of people who have donated?
And I think they either sell them or give them to each other.
I'm now the point.
I'm getting like nine or ten a day.
Wow.
And probably six or seven.
Are you like that?
I probably get six or seven from Democrats,
but I also get like three or four from Republicans,
which means they're they sell them to each other you know what I mean and so it'll say hey it's your friend
tim walls like no you're not my friend I mean I wish you the best but we don't know each other
but now they've gotten the point that they even sell them the local ones so I'm getting messages
from like people running for state representative in like you know Johnson County right and I mean
no offense but the problem is you got to ban it because if you because for them it doesn't
cost any money, and I've been told it's kind of effective, but it might rhyme be the most
annoying thing. I've literally reset up my phone to where you have known text and unknown text
just to get all those out, because I'm getting like tons a day. That should not be legal.
The ones that you get, or do you get some that are addressed to Matt?
They're all addressed to me. Most of them are Kamala or Trump. But now you get local ones.
And like, it's just, it really is almost infuriating to me.
Like, the Kamala and Trump ones, I get it, I guess.
But, like, local people in districts I don't even live in.
As, like, it just annoys me, Drew, I just have to say.
I don't know if it works, but I always reply, because of this text, I'm voting for the other person.
You have made me pick up my phone and read this, so I'm now voting for your opponent.
Yeah, I don't, it's just, it's extremely annoying to me.
Also, do you think it was fair?
What did you think of Noah Liles losing in the sprint?
And then after the race, saying, well, I had COVID.
I didn't love it.
I don't think that's a very responsible thing to do.
I know we've kind of changed a little bit our stance on COVID.
It's a lot more relaxed than it was a couple of years ago when it was running wild.
But I don't love that he knew on Tuesday that he was positive.
He didn't even tell his teammates.
I think it's a bad look.
Well, even go further than that.
He ran the race.
and then announced he had COVID
and in the interview where he announced it
he's wearing a mask
but we watched
right before the interview
he was getting treatment on the track
and he had like five people in his face
so if you have COVID
and you feel like you gotta wear a mask in the thing
what about those five people that got right in your face
to help you like did you not tell them
like I just I was
it was cool he won the hundred Drew
but I thought that was a little irresponsible
and then also kind of an excuse like I lost.
I had COVID.
So I must have been like what, you know, I don't know.
I just felt that was weird.
It was certainly weird.
He at least should have said something beforehand.
I don't know what kind of precautions he was taking behind the scenes.
He certainly didn't after the race.
But it looked like he used all of his energy on his intro.
Did you see when he came out, was running around and dancing?
I'm not kidding.
It's like if you're going to be that winded, he put on quite a show just to get to the block to get started.
I think the combination of watching him get treatment and all these people,
being in his face.
But then he gets up and puts on a mask to do the interview.
Made me be like, come on, right?
Like, come on, dude.
Yeah, there was even a video surfaced of him walking around Tuesday with a mask on.
So he was trying to protect others on Tuesday.
We'll see, why then on Thursday on race day did he just take the mask off and run without it?
And like you said, maybe he could infect it those doctors, his teammates, guys he ran against.
What if it breaks a breakout?
Yeah, I just thought it was kind of lame on his part.
But I did like that he won the 100.
Who's up next?
Got retired ref up next.
Hello there, retired riff.
Man, first of all, welcome back.
Would you help me in my memory?
Wasn't Eddie Sutton the coach before Rick Petino?
He was, yes.
Okay.
And Eddie Sutton had the first losing record for Kentucky, and I don't know how many years.
He did.
I mean, it was a weird year.
It was a weird year because they were being.
investigated and guys like knew that but yes he did have the first losing year i think rup had one
losing year and it was the first one since then so here's the point that i wanted to make because of
that i thought rick patina was one of the greatest coaches to come along simply because he took
next to nothing that very next year when he was first hired and he went 500 i totally agree
If you go back, I mean, for old-timers, the 89-90 UK team, go back and look at that roster and realize the fact that that team went 500.
I mean, remember, that team Ryan, which started like Derek Miller, Reggie Hansen, Darren Feldhouse, Sean, you know, that team beat Shaq, Stanley Roberts, and Chris Jackson in Rupp Arena.
That's a pretty amazing thing.
There are people I've heard say that that season was Patino's breakfast.
best coaching job. Not the 96th championship year, not any of those great teams, but what he did
with that first team was his best coaching job at Kentucky.
So I agree with you. Sir, what's your football and basketball record prediction?
Mine, I would like to see Kentucky go eight and four for football.
And basketball, all I want Mark Polk to do is beat Cal at Arkansas.
Got to beat Cal. I appreciate the call. Yeah.
I mean, we got, it's going to be here.
The game's going to be in Lexington.
They have to.
Drew, we've got to be.
I mean, we got to be Cal.
Like, we got to be.
I can't watch him walk off the floor.
At Rupp.
At Rupp.
Like, walking off with swag when I watched him walk off the floor in Pittsburgh after we lost
to Oakland.
Like, we have to win that game.
Yeah, and after being at all of his two-minute press conferences the last couple of years,
so I'm sure he'll want to do a 30-minute win.
Did you see he already told the Arkansas media that they're being too negative?
Have he played a game yet?
You're kidding.
Too much clutter.
He said there was too much clutter, and he said the media was, quote,
asking him the wrong questions.
So now he's trying to dictate what questions the media gets fair to ask him.
Dude, I'm telling you.
It's not coaches.
Had he come, well, I don't know, but had he come back here, this would have been,
it was best for everybody.
As we said, when it happened, it really was.
It was best for everybody.

Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio.

One person writes, Matt, how many losing seasons have we had in Kentucky history?
I just saw that Rupp actually went 500 and didn't have a losing season.
Can you all collectively come up with the answer?
That's a good question.
So Rupp, I guess, didn't have any.
He had a 500 season.
I don't think Joe B did, did he?
I don't think he did.
So Eddie Sutton had one.
Tubby had none.
Rick had none.
Cow had one.
Billy didn't have any.
Cal had one.
So I think we've only had two, right?
That's the only two I can think of that I can come up.
So the probation year and the COVID year are the only two times.
That's pretty amazing, Drew, if you think about it.
To have the history of Kentucky basketball and only have two losing
seasons the entire time. Yeah, is there anyone that could even say that? I can't imagine there's
another one. I mean, maybe there is, but I can't think who it is. Also, a couple shouts out.
Our fan Reese made the trip here. Thank you very much, Reese, for coming here today. We appreciate it.
And then where, where's my guy who's drawing? This guy right back here is drawing a picture of me
during the show. But, like, it's kind of awesome. Like, I'm probably going to end up hanging that up,
He's sketching with like a pencil.
Wait until you see it.
Mario has taken a video of him doing it.
It is unbelievable.
He's sitting all the way back there and it looks like he gives me, it makes me a little worried.
It looks so much like me that the defects in it, now I'm going to focus on when I look in the mirror.
But really, it's unbelievable.
I can't draw anything.
Can you guys draw at all?
Do you have any artistic ability?
No.
Zero.
Not at all.
One person writes, are you guys excited about the new playoff?
12 teams coming this year.
And what's the percentage chance Kentucky makes it?
All right.
Well, for the first answer, Ryan, I'm very excited about the playoff.
I think that weekend where there are four games on home campuses is going to be one of the coolest things.
That's cool.
That's going to be one of the coolest things ever.
12-team playoff, I don't know how you cannot be excited.
Percentage chance Kentucky makes it with the schedule they have right now,
which requires them to win at least one of a.
at Old Miss, at Tennessee, at Texas, or home Georgia.
I'm going to put it at like 10%.
What do you think?
That's fair.
Yes, I'm very excited about it.
Yes, I think Kentucky is going to have a season where they're sniffing at getting into playoffs.
This year with the schedule, man, I mean, it's just going to be hard.
I'm telling you, the whole season comes down to Brock Vandergris.
If he is able to have success and have a good year, this team could maybe sniff it eight, maybe nine.
wins and maybe get in that playoff hunt.
What's your percentage? I'm trying to do the math in my head.
Carry you the one. I don't know. If you're trying to
break down mathematically,
I'm just going to throw a number out there, I think 5%.
Okay. You didn't give one, Ryan.
What'd you say? I'll go 15. I'll go a little higher.
Oh, okay. I'll split you all and say seven and a half.
I do think going to 12 teams, the SEC is stacked as it is.
Nine and three, you're in the coming at most times.
So if you can, if you win the games, you're supposed to win,
go chalking those and then, you know, steal one.
Maybe it's one on the road, really help you out.
It's not crazy they put Kentucky in with this schedule.
All right, so let me be clear.
I don't think we're going to do it.
But let me give you how we can do it if we were going to do it.
If you want to make it the playoff, the path is this.
Go 9 and 3, and your three losses are Georgia at Texas
and then at Tennessee or Ole Miss.
Because you look at it, and those will all be considered good losses.
Nobody will look.
The committee is not going to look at those losses and think it's bad losses.
Then throw in, we kind of need Louisville to be good.
Because we need to be able to show that we want an out-of-conference game against a really good opponent.
So we kind of want Louisville to be like 10 and 2 or 9 and 3 or something like that.
If you do that, that is a path.
And you go, okay, how do you get to 9 wins?
Well, you beat South Carolina in week 2.
All right, now that's 5.
right
then you go you beat
Auburn at home
you should do that
we'll be favored in that game
right
should be
now you're at 6
so then you're looking at it
and going
all right
we got to beat
at Florida
we've beaten them
how many years in a row
was it three of the last
four
three in the last four
you got to win
beat Louisville at home
imminently doable
right
and then you got to go
steal either at
Ole Miss
or at Tennessee
I mean it's not
crazy
I don't think it's going to happen, Drew, but it's not insane to think that that could happen.
No, and, you know, it's really hard to pick a win at Tennessee as a Kentucky fan,
but there's a chance that Tennessee isn't as good as they've been this season.
I mean, they're going to be good, but that's not – it shouldn't be an impossible
when you're just looking at the rosters.
Now, of course, history says you're not going to win there.
But that's one, I think they have more potential than we realize and taking that one without that job.
For me, the one they steal is at Ole Miss.
I think that – I think that's a win-able – that atmosphere.
is cool, but it's not intimidating.
Tennessee's an intimidating atmosphere.
Texas is an intimidating atmosphere.
I don't think Ole Miss is intimidating.
It's not that big.
Playing at 11 a.m.
Playing at 11 a.m.
So they're not even going to totally be, you know.
So that's one.
To me, if you're going to steal one, that's the one you get.
It's a winnable game.
You've got to take care of business elsewhere, right?
Drew mentioned history.
The problem has been in the past,
you might get a good win, but then you lose to a team on the schedule that you don't expect to lose to.
That cannot happen this year.
What was the year we went 9 and 3, the Terry Wilson year, we lost to a bad Tennessee team that year?
Or we'd have been 10 and 2.
There was a bad Tennessee team.
We're finally favored.
And then they beat us that year, so you've got to be careful with that.
And, you know, the Ole Miss game.
I mean, Kentucky had Ole Miss beat at Ole Miss last year.
You know, they took the game away from us.
Two years ago.
Two years ago.
We were better than them two years ago.
Remember, I mean, Will Levis fumbled it twice inside the 10 or whatever.
Then he got hurt.
We were better than them that year.
We just didn't win.
Who's next?
Miles is up next.
Miles, go ahead.
Welcome back, Matt Jones.
Thank you, Miles.
The show is different with you on.
Without you on.
Well, thank you very much.
What do you got for me, Miles?
I think we will be 10-2 in football vision.
10-2.
Like the optimism.
Miles, that's very optimistic.
10-and-2, so you got us in the playoff.
If we make the playoff, Miles, you're going to have to go
and, like, cheer them on so we get a big W.
Yeah.
I think this is going to be a special game.
Well, Miles, I appreciate the call.
Nice to hear from you.
Could be a special year.
I would love it.
My position of worry, we talked about, Brian.
I'm a little worried about the offensive line.
Just a couple things I've heard.
You worried about that, Ryan, at all?
I mean, they've got the talent.
If they can figure out the combination and put the right people in the right spot,
they've got the talent.
I mean, they've got NFL.
Taliborahill talent all over that field.
I mean, for one of the few times...
So what's the starting offensive line?
You know it better than me.
Oh.
What, Eli Cox, Jagger Burton,
Marcus Cox.
Marcus Cox.
You got Mincy from 10th of the play at Tennessee.
Yeah.
And you still have four on the roster.
There's a couple of...
Who am I missing?
Feels like that...
Portland Ford's back.
I'm missing one.
Feels like that's four solid guys.
Yeah.
Not a lot of depth.
No.
Not a lot of...
You can't have guys getting hurt.
Running back depth.
Hopefully you don't need to go too far into your running back room.
I wish they had a little more horses in the back field, too.
That's what I think really they're going to use Gavin Wimson kind of as a running back
and putting him a quarterback because they're a little thin at running back.
Gavin Wimson, by the way, he's going to play.
The Owensboro kid that's a backup quarterback, he's going to play.
Now, you think they're going to put him at running back?
Well, they're going to put him, they're going to put two quarterbacks on the field in some certain packages,
utilizing him as a runner.
And I think when you get to the goal line, he might be a guy who comes in.
You're going to see Gavin Wimbs that's going to get on the field.
Now, I don't think he's going to, like, do.
full series, do you?
No, but there will be packages in with they're going to run it.
They're going to put him out there.
Yeah.
Earlier this week, Hamden said he's one of the best ball carriers on the team.
That's a quarterback he's talking about.
So you've got to find a way to use him.
I think they didn't, listen, they had Bowell and they had Cutter Bowley.
They didn't bring him here just to happen.
Yeah.
Like I think they feel like they're going to do something with him.
Who's next?
Jason is up next.
Jason. Go ahead, Jason.
25 guys.
Second time, long time.
What's up?
You still there?
All right.
Second time, long time.
Third time will be the charm, I think, for you.
Why not be a third time?
That wasn't the strongest call in the world, but that's all right.
That's all right.
That's all right.
When I went to bed last night at the Holiday Inn here in Hopkinsville, you know, you've got to get used to a bed, right?

It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast
The last point game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed.
He has to guard Julie.
is random.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.

Final segment of the week before we head to the weekend of my first week back.
Remember Monday we are at the KSR Golf Scramble at Boone's Trace, so we'll be out there.
36 teams hitting the links.
I'm excited about that.
Hopefully, I don't know what the weather's supposed to be.
We've been generally pretty lucky for the Lexington one over the years.
It's usually just hot, but you're excited about that, Ryan?
I really enjoyed out there at Boone's Trace.
It's a beautiful course.
We always have a lot of great teams out there, and it's a lot of fun.
Let's do quickly the Draft Kings segment.
You go to DraftKings.com.
Download the app, promo code KSR.
Bet $5, you get $150.
USA and France.
USA is an 11.5 point favorite against France, but the game is in France.
The game is in Paris.
They're saying the crowd for France games has been like the Duke,
Cameron crazy, people going insane.
The tickets for the game, the cheapest ticket right now to go to USA France basketball is $3,700
just to get in the gym.
It's only like 11,000 people, so that's part of it.
It's like a small gym.
USA France, 11.5.5 point favorite, what would you take, Drew?
I think U.S. destroys them.
I actually said on this show, I think it's going to be close with Serbia.
I didn't think it was going to be that close.
But I think that might have been a bit of a wake-up call.
They've already had their comeback and close game.
Now, I think they're going to, I'm not going to call to breeze, but I would take them to cover.
Ryan.
Yeah, we said with Serbia, it was like a 16-point spread.
We both said, man, that's a lot of points.
This also feels like a lot of points for a gold medal game in your home country.
I might have to take.
You're going to take France?
You're going to be an American.
Oh, come on, man.
You're not patriotic at all.
USAO.
France will win.
I don't care where they play.
I think it'll play.
in Antarctica and USA is still going to win.
USA will win.
But will they cover?
That's the question.
There you go.
Look at Ryan the Fritchie over there.
Oh, Wimby over here.
Oh, look at Rudy Go Ryan over there.
That's another thing.
These guys, I don't want to hear about Wimby being the future.
Yeah.
The NBA stars are going to really show up in this one.
The thing is, it is in France.
But, like, France is like the fifth or sixth best team in the tournament.
They should have lost to Japan.
I don't know if you saw the end of that game.
They got, Japan got completely.
robbed at the end of that game. They were up four, and they called a no foul on a three,
and they got a four-point play and tied the game, and that would have knocked France out.
So they shouldn't even be in it. They got Wimby. They also have Gobert, but they can't play them
together because they're both seven feet. So they end up, and the rest their team isn't good.
So I'm like kind of a Drew. I think United States wins and covers. If the game was not in France,
I think the United States would win by 30. But because it's in France, it'll probably be a little closer,
take the U.S. I'm surprised they even got past Canada.
I mean, Murray had a bad game in that one.
In Germany. Germany is probably the second
best team, and then they beat Germany, too.
So I think the United States
handles it. I'll add that Go-Barre's getting dunked on
hard. Not the Vince Carter one of years ago,
but I think he's getting crammed on in the gold medal
game. One person writes, Matt, did I
see you yesterday
kind of yelling at a man
in the parking lot of a gas station?
Oh, we don't
even know about this.
Yeah, you did.
I looked around to see if there was anybody there that might have seen it,
and I guess there was.
I was in the right, though, Shannon.
Well, I would love to hear the details here of what happened.
The Western Kentucky Parkway, when you get on it, the first exit.
So there's like a pilot there or something.
The first exit from E-town, I think it's still technically either in E-town or it says E-town exit.
There's a pilot there.
I walk in.
you know i get my soda and there's like a line of like seven or eight people so and only one person
and like all the people working are like trying to help this person so i kind of walk up to the
front just to hear what's going on and there's this dude and he's being a jerk to these women he's
being a jerk he's like you're telling me i have to go out and get my credit card and she's like yes
he said i want a receipt for a hundred dollars and she said i don't have a transaction
that's $100.
And he said it's $100.
And she's like, I don't have a transaction.
She said, if you go get your credit card, I'll push.
And he's being a jerk, and he's like, I'll go get my credit card, but you're coming with me.
So he makes this woman leave the counter, follow him outside to the car, get the credit card,
well, come back in, and he's rant.
He's like, I had to walk all the way out there, bra, bra, bra, bra, bra, bra, bra.
Well, it turns out he had paid $80.
He wanted a receipt to take back to his work for $100.
What a scam.
To get $20 extra dollars.
And he's barking, and she was like, sir, I'm sorry, you told me $100.
It wasn't $100.
If you had told me $80, I could have pulled it up.
And he's ranting.
Well, I pay for my thing, and he's still outside.
And he's ranting again to like a stranger.
And I went, dude, you were a jerk.
Don't be a jerk to those people.
And he just starts going, what?
Are you talking to me?
And I was like, yes, we all thought you were a jerk.
I'm just the only one that will tell you that you are a jerk.
And I guess somebody saw that.
I'd let it go.
You're getting a lot more bold.
You know, before you would just take the guy's picture and walk off.
Now you're actually confronting them face to face.
There's something about somebody who is being a jerk to a person who's working, Ryan,
who was it the Dairy Queen?
That wasn't that you?
Oh, that was me at Dairy Queen?
But like all of us were mad at them.
But it's these three women.
They're working at pilot, and you're being rude to them.
And then you were wrong.
Like you were the one that was wrong.
It just made me mad, Drew.
So I did.
I felt like he needed to know.
I feel like you have more eventful, just random transactions at McDonald's and gas stations than I ever have.
I'm going to the wrong places.
Probably so.
But I looked around to see if anybody saw it.
And I guess what person did.
Somebody did.
Who's next?
Nick is up next.
Nick.
Go ahead, Nick.
Hey, Matt, it's Nick and Jacksonville.
Rick, are you hanging up on these people?
That's now two in a row.
Did we lose, Rick?
He evidently hung up because he's still in here.
Well, how did he hang up if he's still in there?
I don't know.
I don't know what that means, Rick.
You want to try to put him back on?
I'll try.
Is Rick already kicking off the weekend?
Rick, when did you start?
Did you start with the wine in the first hour, Rick?
No, no, I'm saving that until after I get off.
Okay, all right.
Well, why don't either, whoever, put someone on the phone.
Okay, well, let's try Gerald.
All right, Gerald.
Go ahead, Gerald.
Sorry, I don't know to the other guy.
I'm not sure what happened.
But go ahead, Gerald.
Hey, Matt.
Glad you're back.
The other guys I thought did a great job when you were away.
Concerning the caller earlier who compared us to IU,
with all due respect, that's just insanity.
I use alumni actually played Purdue's alumni in the TBT tournament the week before we played Louisville.
And there were maybe 2,000 fans there, most of them family and friends of the players.
That should have been the equivalent of us playing U of L at Freedom Hall, them playing Purdue in Henkel Fieldhouse.
But I live and work up here in Bloomington.
That game didn't even matter.
Nobody even talked about it.
IU has been irrelevant for years.
If we're still having this conversation 10 years from now, maybe it's a possible.
We can talk about it, but I think we're right back in the mix in March in the next year or two.
I'm with you.
I totally agree with you.
That'll be my call of the day.
Appreciate it.
I totally agree with you on that.
And I think there is, there's no comparison.
This state, you know, you grew up in Indiana.
I spent a lot of time in North Carolina.
Things are just different here.
They just are, right?
And that game against Louisville was on a Monday night at 9 o'clock at Freedom Hall in July,
and they had 13,000 people there.
means more. Yes, and had guys spitting on each other and throwing else down. Like, that is a
and punching Drew, an unbelievable thing. Thank you to everybody here at A Vision Glass. We really
appreciate it. Hopkinsville always shows up. It always makes me happy, and it's great to be here.
And thank all of you. They've been wonderful this first week. If you get a chance this weekend,
go see KS Bar, get some food, tell everybody, hello. We got some new people working there,
getting trained for the football season. We'll see you later. This has been Kentucky Sports

This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes,
A, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
A rep, mom.
I want you to weigh better.
