Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was harmed.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Marquis
coming to him. He's like, you know, I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.

And now the PodMeets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners
by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
Ah, ha, ooh, ah, ooh.
Again, we are experts.

We're all here, but barely.
This was a very hectic attempt to come in.
This happens every year that we come here, Ryan.
I never know where to come in.
I almost never find it.
This year, however, they didn't let us park at our normal parking spot,
and I ended up with the cows and the sheep and the pigs on the other side.
I'm not wearing the ideal shoes for that with these right here.
And I literally did not think I was going to get in here.
I did an interview with SEC this morning with Alyssa Lang and Chris Dorian.
And if you were listening to that, you could hear cows mooing in the background
because it was hard for me to find a place to do it.
Well, see, you brought everybody what the state fair is all about, the mooing, the pigs,
the noises as you're doing the interview.
It was good.
You had Mario with you.
This is his first state fair.
So he got to win to sit.
You know, Mario, Mr. City Fight over there, finds himself in the middle of sheep and pigs.
Perfect.
It was Drew.
I think it was a perfect intro to the Kentucky State Fair.
Yeah, Mario, we had to do some running.
I did not think we'd be here.
We were leaving Lexington and GPS said we'd be here at 10.05.
So we made up a little time in the air.
I won't confess anything on that.
And they did a little bit of running, but we made it.
I will say, and I say this every time we come here, just in terms of spectacle,
I'm not sure there's much else quite like the Kentucky State.
fair. Where can you get? First of all,
they just had the ham breakfast.
You went. I went to the ham. How did you
get invited, by the way? That's all the big wigs.
A-Vision glass. You know, hanging out with
those guys. If you hang out of A-Vision-glass, you end
up at the thing. So
basically, every major
politician was in that room, right?
Was, well,
you had what, Mitch McConnell? It was
the Matt Jones fan club.
Mitch McConnell, Damon Thayer,
Robert Stivers, all the movers
and shakers in the state were there. It was Bashir.
there? I didn't see. No, he's probably at the convention.
Yeah. So anyway, they're all, so like
literally steps away, you have
all the power structure of Kentucky.
Yes. Just steps from that
are cows, pigs, and sheep, Shannon.
Steps from that are
snow cones and rides that were on the
back of a truck just recently.
What else could you possibly want? And now we're right
here next to the Walgreens where you can get a
flu shot. There's the Secretary
of States where you can register to vote.
What an amazing assortment of
things just in a little short place.
I always say it.
This is the best people watching on the planet.
Every year at the Kentucky State Fair, I'm doing some of it right now.
I love the State Fair so much.
I'm actually leaving after the show and coming back later on tonight.
Yes, you do.
You love the State Fair.
You know, Ever Clear and Marcy Playground are playing here tonight.
Do you remember those?
Ever Clear?
Do you remember them?
Of course I do.
They're playing a free show tonight.
What is there, Santa Monica?
Santa Monica, and then Marcy Playground, Sex and Candy.
So I get to go up and introduce the bands tonight.
And how about this crowd showing up here today?
They just opened the doors.
Give yourselves a round of applause.
Unfortunately, as seems to be normal, they always forget to give us chairs.
So hopefully, before the show's over, we will get you some chairs.
Usually they remember to bring them.
Grandma Sarah's got hers.
They usually bring them about 30 minutes in the show.
So hopefully we will get some chairs here at some point.
We're staring at a big picture of Michael Adams there.
Guys got good hair.
He's our Secretary of State.
By the way, besides my mom, one of the few Republicans I've ever voted for.
Yeah.
Right there, Michael Adams.
Fun fact.
Yeah, it is a fun fact.
So, we're here.
I have a question for you.
I feel like I ask this every year, Ryan, but remind me,
why do they have all those pigs and cows?
I mean, I know there's a contest, like who's got the hottest pig and all that stuff,
but why is it, are they selling them to each other?
Why are they over there?
They are for sale, but they, you know, the bigger the pig,
the more voluptuous it looks, I guess, the bigger, the higher the price it's going.
some very sexual words.
It looks like a hot legs contest they have with the pigs and the cows.
I'm actually not making a joke.
Like, are all of those pigs and cows for sale?
Pretty much.
I think they all are for sale.
Yeah, if you're going to.
So who's buying them?
You?
I'm not buying them.
But it would seem like the people that would want them are people who have their own, too, right?
Like, is it?
Well, like, you want to buy a pig and maybe have a pig roast for your organization.
You think that's what it is?
people just go and buy pigs for their pig roast?
That's just maybe one example.
They'll be back next year for the country ham auction.
I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about,
but I feel like the primary reason they're over there
is not to sell things for a pig roast.
I feel like there's something else happening over there besides that.
It's like a beauty pageant.
No, I know they do the beauty page.
You're like, well, look at that one.
But when I walked around, they have signs on the cow that's like,
hey, look at this cow.
It's going to be good for you.
And I just don't know.
I assume people come and pick out cows maybe for their like, Noche Lin.
I mean, I don't know.
Sounds good.
But there's so many of them, Shannon, and they smell so good.
You know, I don't have the ability to know what's a good cow and what's a good horse and what's a good pig.
They all look to say to me.
They do have a horse show.
We had a horse yesterday.
They got them out of here.
When I was growing up, one of Larry's favorite things was the, is it like the national horse show or something during this every year where the horses like prance around?
Drassage, do they do that here?
No, I mean, am I right?
They do, yes, your daughter used to do that, doesn't, right?
Yes, and he would come every year, and he really liked it, and that was over at Freedom
Hall, usually, so.
Well, the pigs a lot of times, like maybe you wanted, I hate to use these words, but you buy it
to slaughter it for food, you know?
They can hear you.
Yeah.
They're right over there.
The pigs can hear me?
The pigs can hear you.
You're ruining what they thought this.
Charlotte's Webb over here, live on the radio.
I prefer them on the other end over here with the corn dogs and all.
All that.
Also, classic.
So we get here.
I'm excited to be here, but I'm trying to find where this is.
First person I see, of course, is Bob and Jamestown.
Before I see anyone else, I see Bob and James Town.
He just walks up and hands me deodor.
Wow.
He walks up and goes, I think you need this.
What?
Bob.
Now, Bob, I mean, there was context.
The other day I was talking about how my shirt smelled, and he was like,
but a man just walks up to you.
And I have to say, in this environment,
Shannon, and I'm the one that stinks.
Yeah, yeah.
That's really saying something.
That must be really bad.
But he gave me Mitchum deodor.
Mitchum is a Mitchum guy.
What is Mitchel?
Triple odor defense before 8 hours.
He told me this is the best deodorant on the market.
Mitchum deodorant.
It's unsented, though.
Have you ever heard of this?
Oh, yeah, I've heard of it.
I've never heard of it.
I've never heard of it.
More of an old spice guy myself, but that'll get you through the day.
Maybe two days.
When I go to Aspen for my little fellowship, I will take the Mitchum
him be over at Drew so I don't state.
Michael Adams, he's just sitting at the Secretary
of State table. Does he work for
him? Bob has literally, for
people who can't see, the Secretary of
State's tables right here with people, Reddry's
Oh, there is the Secretary of State right
there. Does Bob and James Town work
for you? I kind of think he doesn't.
He doesn't know. No, he doesn't know who he is.
That's a no. That's exactly right. Well, nice to see. You look just like
your picture, Michael.
859-280, 2287.
Text machine is 772.
774-5-254. So we are here. I'm excited to be here, and we are now, what, nine days away from the first football game?
Can I already feel it. I'm so excited. You know, camp is fun. We did our talking, even though they're a little more quiet this year.
I'm just, it's to the point, like, I'm so antsy about getting ready to kick it off. We'll watch a little week zero this week, but I need to see the Cats in Southern Miss next weekend.
When I was on the SEC show with Chris Dorian and Alyssa Lang, the first thing they said to me is I feel like,
You know, those two have been pro-Kentucky for years.
Yes, they have.
And they said, this is the first year where Kentucky has not been talked about a lot as a sleeper.
Do you think that's good?
And I would say, Ryan, that is probably good.
You know, the last few years there'll be teams going to watch out for Kentucky in the SEC East.
You don't hear that a lot.
I think Missouri is probably getting a lot of that.
Tennessee, maybe this is the year, though, that they don't have that,
and it actually helps them going into the season.
And to kind of piggyback that, Kentucky themselves have not been doing a lot of talking about themselves
and kind of bumping themselves up.
I think they quietly had this confidence to, hey, we know we're really, really good.
We just got to go out and prove it and beat some people this year.
If you look back recently, their best seasons are when no one was really talking about them in the preseason.
They weren't saying much.
The Stoops culture just likes having that chip on their shoulder and being ignored in the preseason talks.
And that's when they seem to turn it on and play their best.
Chris Doring said, and again, this is not me saying it, this is Chris Doring.
But Chris Doreen, who's pretty connected to the Kentucky program, said he is hearing that Gavin Wimsett,
he thinks we'll play a lot.
And it will be a two-quarterback system with Gavin Wimsett playing a lot.
That surprised me to hear him say.
He asked if I agreed, and I said, well, I don't really know about that.
Brian, do you think, A, do you think he's going to play a lot?
And B, is that a bad sign if the quarterback that's a five-star recruit that we have coming in
is not going to be the full-time starter?
We kind of said this, tried to hint to everybody a couple weeks ago.
There are packages in place for him, but I think a lot of it's going to be closer to the goal line.
I think Bush Hamden loves the fact that he's got an extra running back by putting him back there
quarterback so i think that's what we're going to seem a lot rick are you
rick why did you hit that button rick i hit it by accident okay rick just out of curiosity rick
how did you accidentally hit that button i was trying to arrange everything on the board of my
finger slipped his fingers hey my finger slips too every now and then his finger slipped all right
well rick i'm sorry about that happens his finger slips so let's give me give me an over under
In the game against South Carolina, Ryan, over under Gavin Wims' quarterback,
nine plays.
I'm going to go over.
You think it's going to be over?
Yeah.
Well, that means it's going to play quite a bit.
They're going to have a lot of sets where they have both quarterbacks on the field at the same time.
Oh, both at the same time.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
What do you make of that, Drew?
I have to tell you, it worries me just a little bit.
I mean, it worries me a little bit.
Like, you know, it didn't take Will Levis off the field, right?
They didn't take Terry Wilson off the field.
They didn't even take Devin Leary off the field.
Taking him off the field worries me a little bit about where he is, Drew,
because if you don't take Peyton Manning off the field, right?
Like, you don't, that's a little concerning to me.
I think it just says more about Gavin Wims that's been so good in camp
that they're like, we've got to find a way to work this in.
I think in one of the scrimmages, you might have been a little turnover prone,
throwing deep balls might not be anywhere near Brock is with that,
but they called him one of the best ball carriers on the team.
and that's a quarterback.
So I get what you were saying you could be a little worried about Brock,
but I think it's more so they're just like,
we have this weapon and we can't just leave him sitting here for no reason.
So I think they're going to work them in.
Chip, train him out for the first couple of weeks.
You've got a guy you can hand it off to at the go-line, like you said.
I mean, why not use him?
As long as you're not substituting him out.
Yeah, that's what worries me.
Where did the Secretary of State go?
I was going to bring him on.
Where did he go?
He went to get a funnel case.
He went back home?
Oh, to do a call.
Well, all right.
I was going to have him on the radio, but he was.
He'll come back. Well, I mean, I got other things I got to do.
I can't just interrupt the show for Michael Adams at all times.
I just thought this would be a good time for him to tell people to vote.
He was at the ham breakfast.
Do you know what the ham went for today?
How much to go for?
$10,500.
$500,000.
$10.5.10.5.
Yeah, $10 million and $500 would be a weird.
Wait a minute. Hang on.
I just processed. I just processed.
$10.5.
It went for $10.5 million.
Last year, Joe and Kelly Kraft and Luther Diedon from Central Bank combined for a $10 million.
This time, it was just Joe and Kelly by themselves, 10.5 million.
Business is good.
For a ham.
Well, NIL.
I mean, I feel like if a ham is $10.5 million.
Did they ever actually get those hams?
Just out of curiosity.
Does anybody know they actually do get that?
What do they do with them?
Like, is it?
They do what?
They have like a, give it to the governor.
Then what's the governor do with it?
Good question.
Wait a minute.
So he doesn't have to bid.
Whoa.
So they spend $10.5 million on the ham.
They give it to the governor.
And the governor just like eats bacon with it for.
Life is good as the governor, huh?
Have all us over.
We'll help you eat it?
Can you imagine if we went to like a lot of the world and said, you know what?
We got this ham in America.
And they go, oh, how much the ham go for?
$30?
No, $10.5 million.
Oh, it must be a heck of a ham.
No, we just give it to the governor.
We don't know what he does it.
What does he do with it?
Don't know.
Gives it to his dog.
His kids take it in their lunch to school?
Since you were there, is it like competitive bidding,
or do they just walk in and say 10.5 and that's it?
Or is there to get to watch a bit of a show?
Did you put a bid in?
I tapped out at $10.3 million.
Okay.
But like he started at like $100,000.
But they went 1 million, 2 million, 3 million, 4 million, 5 million.
And is anyone bidding against Joe and Kelly?
Luther Deaton and Central Bank.
That was it.
So they're bidding against each other.
They had a bid off between those two.
We knew who's going to win.
Last year they both gave 5 million each.
I will say, if I'm Luther Deaton and we get to 9.5 million, Shannon, I'm praying I lose.
Yeah, exactly.
I'm like, please bid one more job.
I'm raising their hand up for them.
Hello, would you like to do it?
859-280-2287.
We will take a break.
We are here at the Kentucky State Fair.
Let the Louisville fans know who's the best fan base here is in Kentucky.
We'll take a break.

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,

Welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio here at the Kentucky State Fair.
Tucky Association of Health Plans.
All right.
Let me tell you what you can do.
Right over here at the Kentucky Association of Health Plans, they'll give you a flu shot.
You know, you get a flu shot, then you won't get the flu, or at least that's a theory.
And if you get a flu shot, they'll give you a band, and you can ride the rides all day for free.
Unlimited rides?
Is it unlimited?
Unlimited rides.
So not only do you not get the flu, you can ride the scrambler 43 times, Ryan.
I don't know what's better than that.
That's probably a pretty good deal.
That's probably an expensive wish man to buy.
Oh, yeah.
They still have the scrambler?
Yeah.
One of my favorites.
Have the rides?
Evolved?
Yeah.
Sort of.
Like what's the most modern ride, not just here, but just at Carnival.
Because, I mean, the rides when I was a kid, they had the scrambler, you had the Ferris wheel, you had the thing where you spun around, and then it looked like you were, like, floating and like.
Gravitron.
Oh, yeah, you catch other people sweat.
Have they added other technology?
I haven't been out to the midway yet this year, but I think it's usually kind of the same thing every year, you know?
It's the one part of society that hasn't evolved.
Yeah, like, what are you going to do after you flip somebody upside down 200 feet in the air?
Like, it doesn't really have anywhere to go from there.
Yeah, maybe so.
What about you?
You're going to hop on them out there?
I don't know.
All right.
Can I read you some events from the fair today?
Georgiana, you ready for some events?
You tell me which one of these you like.
We have the Brad Weston.
He's a comic juggler.
Ah, so I'll tell you a joke while he's juggling.
I think that's right.
Yeah.
Sheena, what do you think this is?
At one o'clock,
at one o'clock out on the main stage is something called
Animal Cracker Conspiracy.
I don't know, but I want to go check it out.
There's a conspiracy about animal crackers.
What do you think Animal Cracker conspiracy is?
I have no idea what they're talking about.
Anybody know what that is?
But it makes me want to go now just to kind of find out what it is.
I kind of want to know what that is.
They also have a lot of magic shows here.
There's also going to be a performance by the needle nesters, Drew.
Would you like to know what the needle nesters are?
I would love to know.
They are a fun, exciting cross-stitch group.
Oh, wow.
Cross-stitching.
Fun and exciting cross-stitch.
Try to stay awake watching that.
Wow.
How do you make that fun and exciting?
I don't know.
That's what I want to know is what is a...
I mean, do any of you cross-stitch?
You cross-stitch.
Do you think that you could put on a fun and exciting cross-stitching performance?
No, you don't.
No chance.
Look at the Animal Cracker Conspiracy.
They're on stilts wearing animal costumes.
That looks intense.
All right.
And then finally, there is the break-of-boys.
They are break-dancing along with the marvelous mutts.
Oh, I'm with that.
So I guess that's people break-dancing.
with dogs.
Muts, of all things.
They're not even purebred.
Getting out some purebred dogs
for those.
These are not purebred dogs.
I want to be clear.
These are just random dogs
that we're throwing out here.
So, Ryan, that's the kind of entertainment
you can have at the state.
Plus us.
We're in that list, too.
You've already got my afternoon full
reading up on that Animal Cracker
conspiracy.
Trying to figure what that's all about.
859-28027.
Who's up first, Rick?
Got Ronnie up first.
Ronnie.
Go ahead, Ronnie.
Hey, guys, welcome back to Kentucky and the Louisville State Fair, buddy.
Hope you have a good time.
Thank you very much.
But, Matt, I've got to tell you something.
I'm 75 years old, and the only two items I have an allergic reaction to is Poison Ivy and Mitchum deodorant.
So, before you're going to go in?
Oh, wait a minute.
So you're telling me Bob gave me deodorant that'll make me break out?
Uh-oh.
He's sabotaging you.
He's over there talking to Secretary of State.
Like, he's going to end up.
He's going to run.
Please stay away from the ballot box.
Bob, I don't trust you to be in charge of the elections, but go ahead, sir.
Listen, buddy, be very careful using that, okay?
Make sure you test it on yourself before you use it for the first time,
partner, okay?
Test it on Ryan first.
Yeah, let's test it on Ryan.
Is the plastic still on it or Bob give you one that shoes?
There you go.
There you go.
There you go.
We'll see if his arm breaks out.
Thank you very much, Bob.
I appreciate it.
That is disgusting.
That's just a big goop.
What kind of deodorant is that?
That is gross.
It's like a little loogie.
Drew yesterday, CBS Sports, and this surprised me a little bit.
They ranked, in case you didn't see it, they ranked the 10 pro.
They interviewed all college basketball coaches.
They interviewed like 50 head coaches, and they said, what schools are best positioned for NIL in basketball?
So what schools have the best basketball NIL?
And then they asked them to pick, each pick five schools.
So each coach got to pick five.
The school that was on the most ballots, Arkansas.
Probably not surprising after the Tyson Sports and Cal.
Second most ballots, Kansas.
Not really surprising to me either.
Remember they gave Hunter Dickinson a zillion dollars.
Third, this might surprise people.
BYU.
Wow.
BYU.
So after Pope leaves, BYU, all.
a sudden gets this massive NIL and then fourth was Kentucky.
And then I think Louisville was like eighth.
Interestingly enough, North Carolina not on the list.
North Carolina, not even in the top ten.
Duke was like ninth.
But it was Arkansas, Kansas, BYU, Kentucky.
Drew, were you surprised at that list?
And does it make you feel better maybe about where Kentucky is than maybe some people have thought?
When you look at the teams around them, I guess I wasn't that surprised.
Four seems high if you just say fourth.
But, you know, what they did from, you know, late April to the end of May building that team and all the money they raised from fans.
And, of course, we have our ham bidders that are in the building today doing very well, too.
It's been very great early.
I don't know if that's sustainable forever because we're relying on some very, just a few really high paying donors.
But I'd say right now a couple months in, I guess I can agree with that.
What was interesting, Ryan, is if you look at the top 10 teams, eight of them either have a new coach or in what a national team.
championship in the last four years.
So you do, so Arkansas new coach, Kansas national title, BYU new coach, Kentucky new coach,
Louisville new coach, Michigan was on the list, new coach, Indiana was on the list, new coach.
You do wonder if to some extent what gets the high NIL is the new energy of just having a
new guy in there no matter who it is.
I think that plays a big part in as a matter of fact.
I think probably no more evident than BYU.
They get a new coach and all of a sudden they get these guys going to, don't
made money.
They weren't doing it when Pope was there.
If they had done this in March, Kentucky with Cal would not have been fourth and Arkansas
would not have been won.
That's why we've talked about both situations there because it brought new excitement
behind them.
I honestly think, and again, this might have changed over time.
But I think if Cal had stayed, our NIL was in serious problems.
I mean, when they started the NIL thing with Cal, they expected in the first couple
days to raise a million dollars.
and Shannon they raised $40,000.
Yeah.
And that was a wake-up call, I think, to everyone involved.
Uh-oh.
And then Mark Popat's been completely different.
I mean, just to give you an example,
these last four days have been our best four days of sales of the summer at the bar
because of people wanting to go have that Kentucky blue light and help NIL.
I think people, it's almost like they've clicked in to say,
I want to do something I want to help.
Fan base needed a hard reset on the.
program and that's exactly what we got and now you're seeing it in NIO money.
It's also interesting for me to see the perspective of fans and where we are in NL with
coaches.
Coaches see us as one of the top.
We felt like we were behind.
I would not have thought we would be for.
I would not have thought that.
859-28027.
Give us a shout.
Ask anything on Thursday.
It's flu shots here at the Kentucky State Fair.
This is KSA.
Come back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at the Kentucky State Fair with the Kentucky Association of
health plans. At 2 o'clock today, right over there is the Kentucky State Civics B.
They'll figure out who will. It's like the spelling bee, but for civics questions.
And Ryan, so you will be able to find out what child in Kentucky knows the most about civics.
Are you ready for that?
You probably won that when you were at Middlesbrough, didn't you?
I don't think we were ever in it, or I would have. I would have been good at that.
So what I want to do is to actually see how Ryan would do.
Oh, okay.
Love this.
All right.
How would Ryan do in, now this is for eighth graders?
Eighth graders.
How would Ryan do against a group of eighth graders in the state civics be?
I'm saying not very well.
All right, here we go.
Question one.
Use some confidence.
Come on.
How many Supreme Court justices are there?
Nine.
Congratulations.
Let's ding, ding, ding.
Okay, we're done.
Now we'll move on the next topic.
All right.
How many representatives are there in the state of Kentucky in Congress?
And the U.S. Congress, how many representatives does the state of Kentucky have?
Eight?
No.
Chanon, do you know?
14.
14's a little high.
Drew, do you know?
Oh, six?
Seven.
Drew Franklin is correct.
Six.
Right.
All right.
With Michael Adams standing right there.
what does the Secretary of State do?
Registered people to vote.
Well, that does.
That's what he's doing.
Right there, that's what it says.
I mean, he does more than that.
He's shaking his head, yes.
Well, you administer the elections, right?
He administers the election.
That's what you said.
Yeah, yeah.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, I get a point.
He has to get him to register before he can administer their elections.
It's true.
It's a very good point.
Can you give me the four people in order
in line of succession for the presidency?
So you have the president, then who does it go to?
Vice president.
Okay, then who would it go to after that?
I want to say Secretary of State.
You would be wrong.
Because Andrew Hague stepped up one time, thought he was in charge and he really wasn't.
He's fifth.
Who's third?
The Secretary of Defense.
No.
Anybody know?
Shannon Drew?
Who's third?
If the president and vice president were to, unfortunately, something were to happen,
Who becomes the president?
Mitch McConnell.
You really don't?
This is happening.
Senator.
This happened in your lifetime.
Yeah.
Because Haig thought he was in court.
But he didn't get it.
Someone actually became president in your lifetime this way.
Do you not know who it is?
I thought it was Colin Powell Secretary of Defense.
Colin Powell's never been president.
I can't remember who they named it for an hour.
Like he was Secretary of Defense at that time.
Colin Powell's not been president.
Speaker of the House.
Speaker of the House.
Speaker of the House.
Do you know who the Speaker of the House is?
Right now.
Who is it?
Mitch McConnell.
Mitch McConnell's not in the house, so no.
Mitch McConnell is, do you see the work you have to do here, Michael Adams?
This man is on the radio.
This is not just some citizen.
He is on the radio.
The Speaker of the House is not Mitch McConnell.
Try again.
I don't know.
Do you know who the Mitch Speaker of the House?
Nancy Pelosi.
Not even the correct party, okay?
You realize this person.
is like, I mean, Joe Biden's old.
Like, this person is in, like, could happen.
Do you know who the speaker of the house is?
Matt Gates.
Just kidding. I don't know.
No.
His name is Mike Johnson.
Never heard of him.
How many of you do that?
He's a fake name.
You made that up.
Wow, there's not many people who do it.
All right. Last, and I don't expect you to get this one.
Yeah.
This one's very hard.
Do you know who's fourth in line?
This is actually really hard.
Most people probably would not know this.
I bet none of you know.
No.
Rick, do you know who's fourth in line for the presidency?
No, I knew the Speaker of the House, but that's about as far as I know.
Sure you did.
Did you just say, sure you did?
Yeah, he doesn't know.
Fourth in line for the presidency, and I find this really odd.
Under our Constitution, it's in the Senate, but it is not the Senate majority leader, like you would think.
It is the Senate pro-tim.
Now, do you know what that means?
Pro-Tim.
What does that mean?
I know my answer.
Does anybody know what the Senate pro-Tim means?
It's the member of the majority party who's been in the office the longest.
So the oldest member of the majority party.
So the Democrats are the majority in the Senate.
Anybody know who it is?
I ought to be honest with you.
I don't.
Who?
Patty Murray is fourth and low.
Have you ever even heard that name before?
No, I have no idea who Patty Murray is.
So just so people know, this is the order of the presidency right now.
Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mike Johnson, Patty Murray.
Never heard of him.
And then the Secretary of State, who I believe is Anthony Blinken.
You could have made all those people up, but I believe you.
I've heard of Blinken.
It's interesting, though, like the next three people in line of the presidency,
probably all three of them could walk through here,
and nobody might know who they are, all three of them.
You could have Mike Johnson, Patty Murray, and Anthony Blinken walk through here,
like dancing through the aisles, break dancing.
and I'm not sure anyone would know who those people are, Shaman.
Patty Murray for president.
I would like to see our break dance without breaking a hip.
So up next.
Joseph is up next.
Joseph, go ahead, Joseph.
Hey, man, I just want to give a season prediction out for football.
I think we'll go nine and three, and our biggest win on the year will be Ole Miss on the road.
Didn't he just say we were going to go six and six, like earlier in the week?
All right.
I like it.
You become more positive.
You're going to be positive.
You'll be more positive.
Nine and three.
All right, go ahead.
That's all I got.
Okay, nine and three.
All right.
So scenario to go nine and three.
Ryan, it can happen.
I mean, I said it on, I think, Monday and it just got completely blasted by the fans of other teams.
But it certainly can happen.
You would have to win all the games you're supposed to beat either Texas,
Ole Miss or Tennessee.
And, you know, you had Ole Miss beat two years ago.
You win a game at Florida, so maybe you can drop Texas, Georgia, and at Tennessee, and still go nine and three.
It is possible.
Drew, ranked for me in order.
Texas, Ole Miss and Tennessee most likely for us to win.
So what's our most likely to our least likely of those games to win?
It was just about football.
I might say Tennessee is the easiest, but that won't be the easiest.
So I'll go, Ole Miss.
I'm going to say Texas, even though they just added a running back today.
How do you do that?
School started.
They've already had pretty.
They took a transfer?
This morning out of the running back.
Because that's been one of the reasons I've had a little optimism.
We don't celebrate injuries.
So they lost too.
From what school?
Some kind of FCS mid-major.
That's crazy.
They added a running back right now.
Go ahead.
O'M.
I'll say Texas.
Just because I believe A&M's their next week, it might be one.
They just overlook Kentucky.
You haven't never played them.
You can sneak in there and win that one.
Then I'll go Tennessee and Georgia.
All right, what about you?
By the way, I agree with him.
That's my list.
I'm putting Tennessee last just because until we beat Tennessee last,
just because until we beat Tennessee with some degree of frequency, I can't pick us to beat them.
So I'm going to Ole Miss, Texas, Tennessee.
That's the answer because you can't beat Tennessee in consecutive years,
and I'm not going to pick you to beat Tennessee.
I did pick them to beat Tennessee this year.
So then you would have Tennessee?
I'm saying Tennessee is the easiest, then Ole Miss, then Texas.
What makes you feel good about the Tennessee game?
We've won once there in 40 years.
I think we're due.
That's it.
No, I think that, you know, like, I think we mentioned it earlier.
Mark Stubes has a quiet confidence about this team.
He does.
We've got a quarterback that is still a little bit of an unknown, but I think that, I mean,
if you're going to take your chances on a quarterback, why wouldn't you want the guy that
just barely lost out the starting position for Georgia?
So I think that if he has a big season, we can get a running back,
chip train them healthy again, I think they've got a good chance to win.
I can't pick them against Tennessee, but I will say this.
You're exactly right about the confidence.
This staff believes they're really good.
I mean, I had one member of the staff, and it's not Vince, but another member say to me,
this is the most talent we've had offense and defense together in the Stoops Air.
He's like, this defense is probably second to the 2018 defense,
and the offense is probably second or third to the Will Levis first year offense.
He said, but if you add it up, throw in a good kicking game.
Because think about it, we have one of the best returners in the country.
We have a guy kicking field goals who missed what?
won last year throughout the course of the year.
We have a punter who, if you believe Max,
is going to be a top five punter in the country.
You combine all that.
Ryan, that's a heck of a group of talent.
And that's why I kind of like, like we said earlier,
they're not talking a lot about themselves.
They quietly have this quiet confidence.
No, they know they are really good.
If they go out and they can sneak and get that win at Ole Miss,
things completely turn around for this team.
The punting's been really bad lately.
The field position game matters,
even though it's kind of boring to talk about.
and if Aidan Leros, the new punter that Max found really pans out, that is a huge get for the...
By the way, if that punter ends up not being good, just right and be mad at Max.
Yeah, it'll ultimately be Max's fault.
Hey, this August, Don Franklin is opening five new state-of-the-art facilities, Drew.
Lexington, Somerset, and Glasgow.
I don't know how they still have more in Somerset.
Don Franklin literally is just one big Somerset.
Or Somerset's just one big Don Franklin, but they have opening Somerset Hyundai this weekend.
You can register to win a bad boy.
mower or a two-year lease on a 24 Hyundai Tucson SE.
That's right.
It's good stuff.
You need a bad boy mower.
I want to see you on one of those.
I'd be a bad boy.
John Franklin Somerset Hyundai, grand opening tomorrow at noon with refreshments.
It's Don Franklin's largest inventory.
Go check them out, Don Franklin Auto.com.
We'll take a break.
Be right back here at the State Fair.

Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at the Kentucky State Fair.
Come on out. The state fair goes through Sunday, right?
Goes through Sunday. It should be packed here this weekend.
Lots of great stuff. This convention hall has everything.
Most of the Kentucky counties have a presence.
A lot of the Kentucky offices and the Secretary of State's office is one of them,
and we're now going to be joined. I don't think you've ever been on this before.
No.
Welcome the Secretary of State, Michael Adams.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
One time the Secretary I said,
Can I just call you, Michael?
Please.
Please do.
One time, Michael, I wrote on Twitter something like Michael Adams is going to be one of the first Republicans I voted for in a long time, and you wrote something like, I don't know if that helps me or host me.
I managed to win anyway, but thank you.
You did.
Well, I think you won by the largest margin, or you or Allison Ball.
Which one was?
I got the most votes of anybody of either party, 118 counties.
Well, first of all, congratulations.
I think you deserved it.
Thank you.
Thank you.
You, you know, went through a lot of stuff with.
the election process. First of all, in Kentucky, what's the last day to register to vote?
October 7th.
October 7th. And how would someone listening who has never registered to vote?
Big presidential race coming? How would they do it?
Well, the easiest way to do it is just go to our website, sOS.k.Y.gov and click on the little
button. You can't miss it. You can register electronically. Most voters do. It's easier than
go into the county clerk's office or our office. Oh, you can register.
See, I don't even know that. So you can register electronically.
In Kentucky, when you go to vote, what do you?
you have to take? Just an ID? Your photo ID. It can be any government-issued federal, state, or
local photo ID. And for someone who's listening, and I've had this happen, let's say I'm registered,
but I don't know where, what precinct I vote in. How do I do that? Just come to our website,
and we have all that information. You can just plug in some info, and you can pull up your
registration information, make sure it's right. You can find out where your voting locations are.
You can even register to be a poll worker. Oh, really? Oh, yeah, because we need poll workers. How much is that
pay? It depends on the county. I think in Jefferson is 300 now. Wait a bit. Those people pay
make $300? Well, for a day of work, yeah. Plus, I know. That's pretty good, actually. And you're
doing your duty. Helping out. That's exactly right. He's in Fayette. What does he make in Fayette?
I don't know all the different county numbers. Can you put in a good word for me? I sure will. I sure
will. Put him as a reference. That's interesting. So I want to ask you a second about, you know,
it's been something people
all across the country have sort of
been worried about integrity of elections
and whether the worry is reasonable or not, some people
have it. What would you say to people
to assure them that in the state of Kentucky, in
2024, that the elections will be fair
and all of the things that some people worry about?
I'd say we're really an example
for the rest of the country. I just got an award
from the JFK Library recognizing our elections.
We're a model for the rest of the country.
We let people vote that are entitled to vote, but we also have the security nailed down.
I think you have to do it in a balanced way.
You've got to have access, but you've got to have integrity as well.
In three years, Andy Beshear will not be the governor anymore.
Do you want to break on here?
I kind of think, Drew, this might be a guy who decides to run in three years.
Would you like to make an early announcement?
Not today.
Or is there some kind of because, I mean, do you consider that?
I'm going to get through this election.
It's going to be quite a bit of work the next 75 days.
Not right now.
Okay.
But do you think about it?
Yeah, I do think about it.
But right now I'm focused on this election, making sure it goes as smoothly as possible.
And then after November, I'll think about it real seriously.
Is there, when people go to vote, I think there's a common misconception that, like, anyone can go do it.
If you were to say to people, what are the controls that make people feel like that there aren't folks from other people?
states or who aren't American citizens are voting, how would you tell them that they shouldn't worry
about that? Well, in Kentucky, you have to have a proof that you're a citizen to even register in the
first place. So on the front end, we control for that. But also when you go to vote, our state,
unlike some other states, doesn't allow illegal immigrants to have driver's licenses. We won't issue
them. So there's also on that end of the election, there's a check to make sure that you are
who you say you are and that you're a U.S. citizen. That's important. I think,
There was a law passed in the 1990s.
Bill Clinton signed it into law that said only citizens should vote in our federal elections,
and there's support for that.
So we do check those things.
But also I want to say this, you know, you can't just print up a piece of paper on your dot matrix of comb and vote on it.
We have very specific types of paper, the weight, the color, the bar codes, all those things.
They don't track your vote, but they make sure that it's the right kind of ballot.
So when you see these conspiracy theorists that say, oh, I saw someone's stuff in a ballot box,
they're going to just throw that stuff in the garbage.
It's not ballots.
Since you've been Secretary of State five years,
how many people have you seen?
Because I think this is another thing.
I think people think this happens all the time,
and it doesn't.
How many people have you seen or heard of
that have tried to vote illegally?
Now, I don't mean just like show up
and they don't have a license,
but literally tried to vote illegally.
It's a federal crime, state crime.
How many people have you even see tried?
Two.
Two in five years.
And they were both indicted
and both had to go to trial.
Two.
Out of millions of votes cast in that period of time.
Well, that's good to know.
Well, listen.
Yeah.
In all seriousness, I've said this publicly, I want to say it to you.
At a time that I think we get more and more partisan,
and it becomes harder and harder sometimes to feel like politicians
stand up for what's right.
Through the course of pressure, honestly, mostly from your side,
you were able to do that.
I think that deserves a lot of credit.
you and I probably disagree on many, many things.
But on that, I really do salute you and I wish you the best of love.
Thank you so much.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Michael Adams, there you go.
859-28027.
Who's up next?
Thank you very much.
Randy is up next.
Randy, go ahead, Randy.
Hey, guys, love the show.
I think the diverse personalities of each of you really make it a winner.
But I don't think there's anybody that's associated with KSR
that is more calm, cool, and collected than Rick Ryder.
It just doesn't get frustrated.
You think Rick is the most calm, cool, and collected of the group?
Without a doubt.
Rick, would you agree with that statement before you hit a button and play a song?
Absolutely.
See, listen to him.
He doesn't have a care in the world.
He's chill.
You know, let me ask you, do you have something else, sir?
No, that's it.
Thanks.
All right, I appreciate it.
Rick, let me ask you a question because,
I had, I think it's fair to say, I had a reputation, at least for a while in the company,
that I might be a little hard to work with as the producer.
Oh, now.
At one time, it says, oh.
At one time.
At one time.
No, it's a great.
That was years ago.
But you, you've always done it, and you've always seemed to like, so why do you think you're able to do it so well?
Well, I've been doing this for about 20 years now, so, you know, after a while, you get used to it.
There you go.
I've been doing that for 20 years, but, I mean, you're more laid back than me, Rick.
Yeah, it's the wine.
It's got to be the wine.
Yeah, it's got to be the wine.
What was the last kind of wine you had, just for our wine aficionados out there?
I had a real nice chardonnay yesterday.
You know, there's also something about when you get to a certain age in life, you don't care?
You don't care.
Like, what's my motivation here?
I think Rick's hit that point.
No, there's an age where people are just like, I'm not changing.
Ryan's hitting it.
Yeah, all I'm there.
Ryan has been there.
I have been there for a long time.
I'm very close to that age of where he's like, sorry, I'm not putting on pants.
Like, I'm wearing these shorts.
Like, that's just going to be what it is.
Yeah, I actually had to dress up today, and I wish I had not.
That's dressing up right there.
Yeah, I have my sport coat back there.
Yeah, my Keenlin coat.
The Keenland coat.
I'm not sure those shirts totally match.
Your back, he's kind of fit.
Yeah, yeah, they do.
Yeah.
Well, good.
