Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist and host, Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe
to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.
Listen to learn the hard way on the AHA radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on.
A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle.
with grace.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now, here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859, 2807.
Absolutely beautiful day here in Lexington.
Good hoodie shorts weather.
It's Monday.
Come on out to KS. Bar-Grill.
If you like Monday Night Football tonight, Jets and 49ers.
I think it was last year on Monday Night Football, Aaron Rogers got hurt four seconds into the game.
Hope that doesn't happen again.
But let's talk just a second before we get back to UK.
The KSR Survivor League basically got cut in half.
So that's going to make it easier for me.
Essentially, 21 people picked the Bengals, including me, including Shannon, out.
Thanks a lot, Cincinnati.
You suck.
Thank you, Shannon.
You told me they were going to be good this year, too.
I thought they were.
Well, first of all, don't put this on me.
You are a grown man who can pick any team you won.
And you picked the Bengals just as I did.
I picked them as a surprise team.
You can't pick them.
They're going to be too good this year.
Well, they're not.
They lose at home to maybe the worst team in the league, New England.
So they're out that knocked 21 people out.
Wow, 21.
And then the Falcons lost, which knocked Max out.
And then the Titans lost, which not Dickie Lyons out.
Who picked the Titans?
the tight i mean why i mean dicky but why i don't understand why dicky line so we got 27 of the 50 left
um some shout shout out to some bold picks cash flow and richie farmer had the bears i thought that was
kind of a bold pick in week one it was a bold pick yes they got it uh peter burn well a bunch of people
had the seahawks shout out to stey had maybe the best pick willie collie stein coming out and picking the
Steelers on the road at the Falcons.
Like that's a gutsy pit.
These are people that were trying to tank to get out of this situation, but it backfired on them.
It backfired.
They won.
Like, oh, no, now you got to pick.
Is that what you think?
You think Willie was like, I don't want to do this?
I don't want to do this every week.
Let me pick a team that's going to lose for sure.
Then, of course, yeah.
Cash Daniel had the Texan.
So 27 people move on, but 23 people, myself and Shannon are out.
Still, Drew, Ryan, Billy, and Mario.
remain Mario had the Chargers.
The only guy who had the Chargers, he remains in as well.
You said this week's got some tough games, though.
This one I don't know exactly who you would pick.
I mean, there are, you know, the Chiefs play the Bengals,
if you believe the Bengals are going to be terrible.
But there aren't a lot.
It's hard to know who's, there's not a consensus pick,
although I thought the Bengals were the consensus pick.
It looked like the bills were going to lose, too,
and we were going to have like 10 people left in the league.
So thankfully, that did that.
The Bengals were the biggest.
favorite eight points i saw they wrecked pretty much every survivor league in the country because most
survival leagues had half of their people picking the bingles yesterday yeah so i mean here would be your
choices i think you got the ravens play the raiders so you could pick the ravens if you wanted
see a lot of i already have mine i won't give it to you in case there's injuries a lot of the bad
teams play each other yeah the giants play the commanders what maybe eagles falcons is one you could
do packers colts but you got malic willis starting i'm taking the lions against the bucks
bucks will cool off.
You're taking lines against the box?
It's not my official pick in case there's any injuries or updates before the weekend,
but that's where I'm leaning.
The two biggest spreads are Cowboys, six and a half on the saint.
No, the biggest spread is Ravens Raiders.
So if you were going to do the one with the spread, you would take the Ravens against the Raiders.
Who did the Cowboys play?
Cowboys play the Saints.
Saints will score a lot of points this weekend.
So anyway, we'll see when we get closer.
But 23 of us already out, including me.
Now I'm going to keep track of this all year, Shannon.
I'm not even in it.
I know, right?
So how quickly do you hand this off to somebody else?
No, I'm not going to end it out.
I'm going to do it.
Here, Ryan, you do it.
Well, I'm the only one that can text all these people.
I'm the only one with their phone numbers.
That's true.
So, like, I have to, I'm going to have to do it.
The only person that seemed to play worse than Kentucky was Will Levis yesterday.
That was bad.
Now, thankfully, it was against my bears, but we won 2417, didn't score an offensive touchdown.
That's unusual.
The Levis pick six was like, awful.
Brutle.
That was a brutal big six.
He actually did that move earlier in the game, and it didn't get picked off.
But when he did it, I was like, why are you trying to throw it out of bounds sidearm like that?
Just go down, and then fourth quarter, he costing the game.
Titans were up by one.
They had it in hand.
I mean, Caleb Williams wasn't moving the ball.
And on a third down, just throws it straight to the DB trying to get it out of bounds as he's been pulled down.
So I was excited. Bears are back.
I was playing the eight of the Super Bowl shuffle.
I wasn't there to Feathers Ruffle.
We're just going to be here to do the Super Bowl shuffle.
I did think Caleb Williams was celebrating way too hard.
I'm not a sore loser.
I actually thought the Bears were going to win.
He's this first game.
The number one overall quarterback, the number one picking the draft, his first start since 2003,
they were 0 and 15.
So he broke that streak.
That's a pretty good streak to break.
Owen 15, and he goes and wins to be the first one.
93 yards.
Who won?
You're just mad it was your team.
My team.
beat your team and Shannon he won't take it.
I thought your team was going to win.
Beat your team.
Hey, after the Kentucky game, 93 yards sounds like a lot of passing yards.
You compare that to 30.
That's a lot.
That's three times as many passing yards as Brock Vandergris.
I'm not mad at all.
Will was very disappointing.
That wasn't just that interception.
He had Calvin Ridley on one play broke free.
Will throws it out of bounds.
He overthrew another open receiver.
It was a bad, bad, bad levist day.
So it's nice that I mean, I was watching all the Super Bowl shuffle 85 step.
Uh, my name is Fridge.
I'm a rookie.
I may be large, but I'm no dumb cooking.
Great lyrics in that song.
What is it?
The best.
You've seen me, uh, uh, you've seen me tackle.
You've seen me run.
You've seen me something when we kick and pick.
Or what is.
Hang on.
I'm going to get this right.
Okay.
He's like, you see me tackle.
You see me run.
When I kick and pass, we'll have more fun.
It's hard to explain how popular that was.
It was everywhere.
in 1985.
I could do all the bursts.
I'm not going to, but if I needed to, I could.
My biggest hot take from NFL Sunday, maybe worse than Levis.
Tom Brady?
Tom Brady?
I knew he was going to.
The whole game.
Did I not say he was going to be terrible?
I knew he was going to be terrible.
I watched every snap.
When are we going to learn that people, just because someone's good at one thing and
handsome doesn't mean they're good at everything?
Yeah.
You think he had to go through and call any, like, you know, mock games before to get that job
absolutely not. Sometimes there were like
20 seconds of silence. He wouldn't speak.
He wouldn't speak. It's like he didn't know
when it was his turn and you're like this is normally
when the analyst would be saying something. It would
just be silent. He was awful
and I knew he was going to be awful.
And Greg Olson is good. They got rid
of the guy that was good to put in a guy with no
personality. Like it doesn't
matter that he's Tom Brady if he doesn't
speak. We found something that Tom Brady's not
good at. Yes. And because
you know, I didn't like the
gross because he was good at that.
I want him to be bad at it.
He was good at.
Well, this he's not good at, Ryan, at least from what I can tell.
Man, he got roasted, too.
I mean, it was all over social media.
He was getting roasted.
Because he wasn't good.
No, not good at all.
Go one more week.
That was his first one.
But if he just doesn't talk again, I really think they should give Greg Olson his job back.
They should.
He just wasn't saying anything.
And even when he said something, it wasn't even, you know, we want Tom Brady to break it down,
really get into the mud.
He didn't really offer much.
So one more thing.
So while I'm doing the pregame show,
or the ESPN show before the one o'clock games.
A lot of news broke while we were on.
Dak Prescott, re-signs, Jamar Chase.
There was something else.
Oh, they named Justin Field Starter,
and then Tyreek Hill gets arrested.
So that video breaks while we're on the show,
while we're on the air.
And I'm having to figure out, like,
I'm seeing it for the first time
in trying to not say something wrong,
but also tell people what's going on.
And then they break into the show
and they go, we have sound of Tyreek Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhouse.
He has a statement.
And I haven't heard the statement yet, Shannon, right?
So they're just playing it what they call raw on the air, right?
Right.
So they play the statement.
And it starts with, first of all, I've always thought Drew Rosenhouse.
That's, you know who he is.
He's like the famous.
I've always thought he was like the sleazyest guy.
That's who Jerry McGuire was based on.
Oh, it was?
Yes.
I've always thought he was like the sleaziest dude.
And he gets up there and he goes, first of all, I just,
when everybody had initially know Tyreek was fine.
Burr-br-br-ber-ber-ber.
And he, like, says all this stuff.
And then, you know, it was a decent statement.
And then he ends it with.
Did you hear the end of his statement?
And it was so ridiculous, I laughed out loud.
I couldn't.
And I spent the rest of the time making fun of it.
He goes, you know, Tyreek and I oftentimes have talked about how much respect he has for law enforcement.
He said, as a matter of fact, as he was being arrested, he told the police officer he wanted to be a policeman when he retires.
I heard that work.
And when he said that, Shannon, I was like, no, he didn't.
That did not happen.
You are never going to convince me that while Tyreek Hill was being taken down to the ground by the police,
he goes, sir, I want to be a policeman when I grow up.
Face down on the sidewalk.
Face down on the ground where they've stopped him outside of the stadium.
That's the moment he wants to talk about how he wants to be a policeman.
I'm like, don't lie to me, Drew Rosenhouse.
That is a lie.
I also don't believe that you and he were just sitting around.
And he was like, you know what, Drew, I have a lot of respect for law enforcement.
He never said that to you.
And so I end up saying that on ESPN.
And then Myron goes, is he one of us to think Tyreeks in third grade saying, I want to be a policeman when I grow up?
It was ridiculous.
And like that became all we talked about because it was such a stupid thing.
There's no way, Drew, when he was on the ground, he was talking about how he wants to be a policeman.
I wouldn't believe he wants to be a policeman even if he thought it.
He has a $120 million contract.
He's done playing football.
I hope he wants to do nothing.
Yeah.
What's he going to go to police school when it's over?
Stop it, right.
I do like the idea of Drew Rosenhouse and Tyrie Hill sitting over the contract.
Okay, you give me this, that I need to have this big year.
But also, let's back the blue.
Let's make sure we're both on the same page.
Shannon, that did not happen.
That did not happen.
Why did he have to lie?
Do not believe it.
Like Drew said, even in that moment, you're not going to say that.
I mean, if you thought about maybe being a police officer,
After that, I think that would change your mind as you're getting arrested.
Yeah, normally on ESPN when there's breaking news, they don't like you to just give your raw, unadulterated take.
But I couldn't help it.
I just kept, they played it again.
I was like that didn't happen.
He's got to stop saying that.
That did not happen.
I did like his touchdown celebration, though, where he fake like he was getting arrested.
I did see that.
Oh, I didn't see that.
You didn't see that?
I didn't see that.
Oh, yeah.
He scores a touchdown, puts his arms behind his back, and another player comes up, throws the cuffs on him.
Now, that's funny.
That was good.
It's good.
How about Jeff Darlington being on the Shephler,
beat and the Tyreek Hill beat.
When I went to ESPN, he's the one that was covering it all.
Let me be clear.
I'm going to say the same thing about Tyreek Hill I said about Sheffler.
I was very quick at Sheffler to go, we don't really know what happened.
We don't know what their interaction was.
So I'm going to, you know, later it came out, the cop overreacted.
My initial inclination is that the same thing happened here.
But I don't know.
I wasn't there.
But I will say this if I'm a cop.
I feel like I could say this confidently.
If I am outside of the Dolphin Stadium.
And it is three hours before the game.
And I see a Lamborghini, Shannon, driving.
That ain't no fan.
I'm probably going to think there's a chance it's a player, right?
There's a chance.
There's a good chance it's a player.
And maybe I take a step back and go, whatever traffic violation he committed,
maybe I just let this one roll.
Yeah, unless it was really bad.
But what could it have been?
I don't know.
It was a parking lot.
Could he run over a cone?
What could it possibly have been that would have been worth pulling him over?
It was reckless driving is what they said, right?
Pulling him over and pulling him out of his car and putting him face down on the asphalt.
By the way, while he's going, I want to be a cop.
Hey, cool, I'm getting arrested.
I always wanted to do this.
I always wanted to be it.
They also handcuffed one of his teammates who drove by and got out to see what was going on.
This is going to end up being the exact same as the Sheffler thing.
There's going to be one dude.
They already put somebody on leave yesterday.
Yeah, they've already put somebody on leave, which is not a good sign as well.
So anyway, but I know Tyree Kiel did not say wouldn't be a cop.
Tell me about Stock to Mortgage.

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth.
He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of
the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
When Jacob met Levant this went to a billion dollar fraud.
But with two kings from entirely different worlds,
just how long can their empire survive?
The largest tax investigation in American history.

The question is, how do you conquer them?
On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,
professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them
and the mindset that keeps them going.
From the WMBA standout, Kate Martin, and rising hockey star, Layla Edwards.
If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't.
Like, I've never understood that.
Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel on.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeki.
The ability to show gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.
At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world.
Like, I can do anything.
I can do anything.
Because resilience isn't just about winning.
It's about showing up, even when it's hard.

That's right.
Call me sweetness, and I like to dance.
Running the ball is like making romance.
We had a Gold Sense training camp to give Chicago a Super Bowl champ.
Now, we're not doing this because we're greedy.
The bears are doing this to feed the needy.
We're doing them here.
looking for trouble.
We just came here to do the Super Bowl shuffle.
Thank you very much.
That was impressive.
Can't wait to hear it on podcast.
On podcast, it's going to be great with no music behind it.
Actually, might sound better because there's probably a slight delay live.
So it'll sound better actually on podcast than it will live.
That was impressive, yeah.
Yes, with no words, right?
No words.
Nope, knocked it out.
We got it straight from memories at least start playing it.
Rick said.
I'm sitting watching the video.
It's so absurd.
It's so ridiculous.
Look at Shannon, while you're watching.
Look at number four, the white guy in the front, and look at what a horrible dancer he is.
When they dance, he is so far off the beat.
I mean, it is absolutely amazing.
All right.
Rick says, Matt, after the game, Tyreek Hill said in a press conference he wanted to be a policeman.
I don't care if he said it in a press conference.
First of all, that was seven hours after it happened.
You think maybe Drew Rosenhaus came out and said, hey, when you go to the press conference, say you wouldn't be.
You're telling me, you believe what he was being thrown to the ground, he said,
I want to be a policeman.
He didn't say that.
He didn't.
I bet he's saying, hey, I'm a wide receiver for the dolphins.
Yes.
That's what I would be.
I got a game.
I want to be a police officer.
Unfortunately, this football thing worked out for me, and I'm a football player now.
I mean, no offense, but how gullible do you have to be to see a post-game press conference interview
and think that that means he did it when he was being arrested?
Stop it.
Drews and House did probably tell him, hey, say this.
Of course he did.
Because he had said it.
the pregame and he was like make sure you go out there and say you wanted to be a policeman it'll help you
who's next yeah Alex Alex Alex Alex hey guys first time I'm back to the football thing
Matt I thought you had a good call during the post game show that made a good point about the fact
that Stoops used to build these teams around his philosophy yes and and I feel like the only chance
we've got offensively the rest of this year is to build the philosophy around the team.
They just don't have the strength inside. They got to do something quicker on offense and not
continue the pro slow style. I think it's a great. The caller on the post game show, I appreciate
the call, made a great point. He basically said Stoops has recruited to a philosophy and plays a
style to a philosophy, but for whatever reason they don't have that now and that they've spent
their NIL money on guys that are not consistent with his philosophy. Like they haven't spent
their NIL money on offensive linemen. They've spent it on receivers, et cetera. And that's fine.
But now they need to like design an offense for the talent they have, not the talent Stoop's
wishes they had. Is that fair? I say from what we've seen so far, it's fair. You know,
they completely abandoned late in the game. They went to two tight ends and just like Drew said,
ran the ball 11 times in a row. Barryall Brown didn't catch a pass. First time in his UK
career, he didn't catch a pass. That's crazy. I have my stat of the day. Dan Key has
had a 32-yard reception, and Brock Vandergriff had 30 total yards.
He had more yards on that reception than the head in the game.
That's why.
See, I mean, at this point, you're probably going to have to play, which I don't know what you can do.
Do you just play like Mike Leach-style quick?
Do you try to just run and win 13 to 10?
I don't know.
I mean, I think I, you're often.
Offensive line, here's what you can't do.
You can't drop back, what is it, five-step drop or whatever, under center, and pass.
This offensive line is not going to, if you're going to pass, you're going to have to go shotgun and just go.
They do not have time to play a pro-style passing game because he won't stay upright.
That's a first-time starter in the SEC, and you've got him scrambling for his life as soon as he drops back or he did in the last game.
I think the lines, they have to be better than they were last Saturday.
They just have a five, five.
But how do you correct it?
But how good are they?
It doesn't seem like it's very good at all.
There's some things you can correct from week to week.
I don't know how you correct an offensive line.
I don't really have it or you don't.
If you can't block, you can't block.
I mean, again, I'm not an expert.
Maybe it's just what the guy said and they're missing where they're supposed to be.
But a lot of times it just looked like they got beat.
And oh, yeah, by the way, Georgia.
comes in next week.
They don't have a good deal.
You think South Carolina is good.
They don't play two top ten teams in three weeks.
One on the road.
They don't produce good offensive lines or defensive league.
Tennessee is going to be a top ten team soon.
Who's next?
Mike.
Mike, what's up, Mike?
Hey, Matt, I took your advice of South Carolina being a good game to take a first-time person to.
Yes.
Oh, no, no.
I took my girl up there and she broke up with me.
And she didn't want to see you ever again.
I understand.
I thought it would be a good first game.
Clearly, that was not correct.
Appreciate the call.
Yeah.
I mean, you know, we talked about this on Faye.
This I kind of thought South Carolina was a smart bet, not necessarily to win,
but to cover because they hadn't played well in the first week.
Kentucky might be overvalued, and then that ended up happening.
I don't even find if, not fine, but you can live with if Kentucky loses.
It's an SEC team, but six offensive points when you're a 10-point favorite game.
It's just awful.
Who's next?
Justin.
Justin, go ahead, Justin.
I got a couple things.
The first thing I saw, we had, what was it, 44 passing yards, and we had 63 yards and penalties.
When you have more yards and penalties than passing yards, there is a full-on malfunction.
And then all off-season, I kept saying,
I had hopes that this team could win eight, possibly nine,
and I kept receiving a lot of flack for it.
And then they put on that performance.
I was working that game.
All the fans who was yelling to Stoops, pony up,
telling the O-Line they were horrible.
That worries me.
The players turned around and looked at the fans,
but honestly, as the players and as the coaches,
can you be upset at the fans for saying that stuff.
No, no, they can't.
And to be fair, and to be fair, and I appreciate the call,
Stoops didn't do what Cal did and go after the fans.
He didn't say anything about it.
But when I heard that people were screaming pony up at him as he walked off,
that's a bad side of where the pro.
It reminds me of that again, the parallels of the SEC tournament down in Nashville
when people were yelling at Cal as he walked off the court.
And I thought, oh, wow, this is like, you know,
the pony up comment was so dumb.
after we had gotten beat 51 to 6.
And then we lost to Missouri the next week, if you'll remember,
that I think that's going to be a hard one, Ryan, for him to overcome.
There are so many parallels about Stoops and Cow.
You know, what if the season continues to go south,
everybody's going to say Stoops probably should have taken that Texas A&M job.
When Cow seems to go south, he should have taken that UCLA job.
You know, there's a lot of similar parallels in the way these two coaching trajectories are going.
have gone.
Yeah, we've never seen stoops with this kind of pressure,
especially where they're yelling at him as he's leaving the stadium on Saturday.
And a lot of people, myself included, have wondered how much gas he still has left in
him before the season even started.
And if now it's a polynomial fans yelling at him, just wonder the direction this is heading.
Yeah, I mean, there's still 10 games left, and we have to keep saying that.
I mean, this is the equivalent of when Kentucky lost in basketball, like.
Evansville.
Evansville.
Well, no. I mean, this, I'm trying to think of last year. This is the equivalent of like when, what's a game we lost last year? We shouldn't have lost. When we, when Gonzaga beat us, or was that during February?
Gonzagabetus. That was in January, February.
That was during the three in a row at home. The point is, like, there's still a lot of time.
UNC Wilmington? Yeah, and we might look different. That's right. We did lose to UNC Wilmington. Okay, so this is a little bit like the UNC Wilmington game last year. It makes it look desperate. It's hard to see how we do.
turn around.
It didn't turn around for Cal.
I don't know if it's going to turn around.
But it's not over, right?
Like, it's not over.
I don't think they will, but say they did pull off a big win you weren't considering.
You call these a wash.
Now, it's very unlikely, but.
Yeah, if you were to somehow go to Ole Miss and win, which I don't think is going to happen,
but if you did, it would be a wash.
Yeah.
Right.
But that's not what you want to be relying on in order to have a good season.
We'll be right back.

Let me give a shout out to Boyle County High School.
Boyle County High School went up to Ohio, beat a team there.
What was the team?
Can't remember the name of it.
Can't remember the team high school, but they were ranked number 12 in the country.
It is believed to be the highest ranked team, a Kentucky high school team has ever beaten.
Wow.
And they won by 21 points.
Yeah, wasn't close.
One by 21 points.
The announcers for that team were like, who are these guys?
So congrats to Boyle County, believe to be, there's no official records,
but to believe to be the highest ranked team that a Kentucky high school team has ever beaten.
St. Edward from Ohio.
They've been dominating in Ohio.
They're good.
I saw them play Lexington Christian Academy and Bowling Green.
They've got Quisimberry and Brown or Johnson, their other running back, but they've got these two driver brothers.
The sophomore driver brother is a stud.
He's a sophomore tied in.
So I texted Vince.
I said, man, this Boyle County is tied in.
He goes, I'm already all over him.
Again, Shannon, probably something not to say on.
the show you're blaming me now i'm taking it saying like probably like the tips you're given
on recruiting and the response has gotten back or maybe things like you just keep to yourself okay
you know i have a high school football question okay frederick douglas ryan oh i do i just assumed
it was a win so i didn't follow it what what happened were you there some manual right
the pomp manual yes like i thought they only had an academic team that's it you know well they were all
The whole crowd was there.
It was a rough weekend, the Lemon family.
Douglas won on Friday night, U.K.
won on Saturday night.
We lost both those games.
What I say, one?
That's a big difference.
Douglas lost on Friday night, UK lost on Saturday night,
and then Devin Keene, the Broncos lost on Sunday.
Yeah.
No.
Middlesbril's 0 and 3?
Are they?
Lost to some place called Gate City, Virginia,
which I didn't even know was a town.
Wait, that's where we went for, we ate there.
That's where we had Camel or whatever, right?
That's Matt McClong's town.
Isn't it?
I think it is.
No wonder.
They produce all those athletes in Gate City.
No wonder we lost.
All those exotic animals that you think.
And then Kentucky obviously lost.
But then the Bears beat your Titans.
So I'll take it with that.
Who's next?
Zach.
Zach, go ahead, Zach.
Hey, is this KSR and Matt Jones or is this MTV
Raps of Mac Jones?
I wasn't sure.
I'm good.
Yom TV.
I was good.
I could do other verses.
I could the Puck of you.
No, let's say that.
If you want, fine.
Fine.
Shut up.
Go ahead.
No, I'm just playing.
But I just wanted to make two points about the game.
And I never thought I would have to ask this question about Mark Stoops and a Kentucky offense.
But have they forgot what a screenplay is?
Well, they did it a lot last week, and it didn't work.
So I don't know that.
Well, to be fair, though, when the team is barreling down as much South Carolina,
and they're always back there, maybe try to hit them with a couple, you know,
throw them off balance a little.
That's fair.
And the only other point I wanted to make, and I'm a Mark Stoops fan.
but the only thing that I have seen consistently from one season to the next is that our teams are so undisciplined,
and we always have penalties at the worst time, and then follow that up with another penalty.
And I just, I'm in a loss at this point.
That's a fair.
I think that's definitely fair.
I appreciate the call.
The penalties were a disaster Saturday, and it seemed like they would happen at awful times.
They were just a disaster.
I think they had 10 penalties in the second half alone.
A lot of more like just senseless penalties, you know, movement and off sides.
We lined up, our offensive lineman, Mincey, lined up incorrectly two times in a row.
Two plays back to back.
We've dealt with penalties for Stubbs.
And he was our highest rated offensive linemen in the rankings just for the record.
Go ahead.
But when Stubbs really had it going and in the earlier years in his era, you know, he was a big lunch pail guy.
We were showing up to the fight.
You might be a better team, but we're going to be in it because we're going to scrap.
We're going to claw.
We're going to work the hardest.
The team that showed up Saturday did not have that mentality.
I don't know if the culture has changed a little bit, but Stoops used to have his guys ready for this game,
whether they were talented or not.
That team that showed up Saturday was not ready at all.
Somebody says, Matt, what about Gavin Wimson?
You know, I don't know.
That's – I'm not ready to say Brock is the problem yet,
but it might be the case that Gavin Wimsitt could end up being better
for the particular thing we need for this team,
which is somebody getting out running, right?
So I'm not, I don't consider Saturday an indictment of Brock Vandigriff yet.
Let's see what happens.
But then again, like, are we going to learn anything against Georgia?
Probably not.
Like, it's going to be the same issue.
So, if you think it might just hurt his confidence even more if he has back-to-back games
where he just can't get anything done because the line isn't protecting.
Because that's not the way I'm talking about.
He did look to get tentative as the game went on, you know.
And Gavin at least came in and showed and brought a different element to the game that we can use.
Dude, there's now a video this looks like of one of the officers just kicking Tyree Kill.
Kicking him.
Yeah.
That might be while they was put on leave pretty quickly.
They didn't take him long to put the dude on leave yesterday.
All the more reason he did not say, I want to be a problem.
police officer as he was being kicked.
That's a, yeah, that's got to be the dude that was put on leave.
Wow.
Wow.
That'll get him fired.
Who's next?
Dan.
Dan, go ahead, Dan.
Hey, Matt, Dan from Rocky Mount.
Well, I can say one thing is the UK fans don't feel as bad as the Notre Dame fans are this morning.
Yeah, what about Notre Dame losing at home?
How about this stat?
Only 11 times since like 1995 has a team been a 24-point home favorite or more, 11 times and lost.
Three of them have been in the last four years, Notre Dame.
Wow.
No kidding.
Isn't that crazy?
That is crazy.
But go ahead, Dan.
Yeah.
Anyway, I went to the game.
I can't say anything else that hadn't been said.
They just suck.
Our kicking game did look pretty good, though.
I think a punter punted well, and, you know, we made two field days.
Yeah, I don't know, though.
I mean, I don't think the punter punted well.
I'm not going there either.
Let's look at, go look at the difference in the punts South Carolina had versus us.
I mean, they'd go, their punts would go 55 to 59 yards, and ours go 39.
Like, the thing about Barry, he had one really good one in the first half.
But generally speaking, he kicks at 39 yards every time.
And, like, these guys were playing against.
These SEC punters are kicking it in the 50s, so we're losing 10 yards every single time on punts.
Anyway, going forward, I think, you know, Coach Stubb's never had as much pressure coming up.
I think if we show up to the Georgia game, we go in and beat Ohio, and I think like this said,
we could go in and beat Ole Miss, and then we'll forget about this game.
Well, yeah, those are big ifs, though.
I mean, I appreciate it, Dan.
Those are big if we show up and we beat them and we beat them.
And, yeah, here's the thing, we could play good against Georgia and lose by 21.
Yes.
Right.
Highly possible.
So it's hard to know what success drew because, again, you could play well and still get destroyed.
Yeah, and you needed to go into that game 2-0.
So if you do even play well, that lost, you can still have a little bit of.
of a silver lining in it like, oh, we competed.
No one's going to want to hear that with the situation it is now.
Whatever that score ends up being.
Unless you plan to like a field goal, it's going to be hard to get that energy back.
And then it doesn't matter what you do against Ohio.
No one's going to care.
No.
That's not going to make anybody feel better.
So then basically, really the first chance he has, the team has to really show itself in some ways is against Old Miss on the road.
I mean, just for the record, the rest of our schedule, in the new AP poll, we play four.
of the top seven.
Yeah.
Three of them on the road.
At Ole Miss, at Tennessee,
at Texas.
Louisville will eventually be ringed high, too.
I don't want to talk about Louisville.
I mean, we're going to beat them anyway.
That's going to be the only silver line
is we're still going to beat them.
That's what happened last year.
Ole Miss is only averaging like 60-something points
through two weeks.
A game?
Yeah.
Only.
Yeah.
We'll hold them under that.
Who's next?
Richard.
Richard, go ahead, Richard.
Good morning, KSR.
Thank you for taking my call.
I just have a general question or comment
and would be interested in hearing what you have to say.
In Western Kentucky, I live in the Hopkinsville area,
and I'm a subscriber to DirecTV and ATTUverse.
And we are currently blacked out from all games on ABC, ESPN,
and the SEC.
work. Correct. So we didn't get to see any of the good games this weekend. I'd just be
interested to hear your comment about that. Well, I mean, it's terrible.
Please do. Yeah, it's terrible. I mean, I'm the same way at my place in Louisville, I'm going
to finally get rid of it and just do YouTube TV everywhere. But it's the same way we had
that issue here at the bar. This was a scramble all weekend because we didn't have the ESPN
channels. We had to bring some new spectrum things in to try to get to work. And it was the
television situation here was we I give credit to the people that worked on it Jamie and
hubby and others like they worked their tails off because it every three hours it was a new
situation because of all that but it's awful for the people I will say this sir I expect them
to try to get it worked out by Monday night football tonight if they don't then that means they're
in it for the long haul and I would think about switching to something else to be honest with
Well, of course, we have a contract with DirecTV that links us to a year.
Yeah.
And, but it sounds to me like, you know, they promised ESPN.
They promised these sports channels.
And to me, that means they're in a breach of contract.
And can we...
That's a whole other thing.
Yeah, but lawsuits, I mean, you have to pay for the lawyer and all that.
But I appreciate the call.
I would say, I think they'll probably do it tonight because I don't think they're going to want
to miss the first Monday night football.
ball game. But if they go through tonight and it's not done, then I start to think, Ryan,
it may, who knows? See, I thought it would be done before yesterday's week one NFL. I thought
they'll work it out tomorrow morning, yesterday morning. But there were no big games on ESPN yesterday,
and there were no NFL games on ESPN yesterday. So like, tonight's the night. Tonight's the night,
and we'll see what they end up doing. Maybe after they aired Kentucky's game on ABC, they're like,
We just shouldn't show football at all after that performance.
T-Ds, Tuddies.
That what you call them?
Tuddies.
I've never heard of a Tuddies.
Do you not follow the trends?
I guess not.
Is that a TikTok thing or like a three-year-old thing?

Welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio.
This is Kendrick Lamar.
He will be the Super Bowl halftime performer this year.
What about that?
I was hoping for a little Wayne because they're going to New Orleans,
but this is really bad news for Drake.
Drake lost.
Drake, Drake already lost, but Kendrick has one more final blow.
Poor Drake.
Like.
Don't you get in a rap battle next thing you know that dude ends up at the Super Bowl.
Yeah.
And the whole crowd's going to sing that A minor part.
Maybe 100 million people watching at home will sing it too.
They're not going to let him sing that song.
He is absolutely going to sing that song.
Wow.
Yeah.
Drake's done.
But you know what?
That's one of us, Matt.
Aren't you?
Do you feel bad?
You don't fight someone that has a bazooka, right?
And you have a slingshot.
You just, you just, you just, you don't.
don't do it.
859-280-2287.
So this week, Thursday we are at the Mint in Bowling Green, the opening of their new
sports book.
We're going to have a night out in Bowling Green Wednesday night.
Billy has said he wants to take us to his old college bar, which makes me think, like,
I think Billy's going to think he's going to walk in there, and it's going to be like,
oh, here comes Billy.
Billy's back.
Billy's back, Shannon.
Are you excited to see Billy's former hangouts?
I didn't know that we were going there, but I don't think that any of the people that went there when Billy was in school were going to be there still.
I think he's forgotten that.
I think Billy thinks he's going to walk right in, and it's going to be nine years ago and that everyone's still going to be there.
But I don't think he realizes they've graduated.
And so they're not going to be there.
He keeps mentioning this bar crawl, but the times I've consumed alcohol with Billy, it was a very quick experience.
15 minutes.
Maybe we're doing a tour of waters at all these places.
So then, and then this weekend.
I got to go to Green Bay.
Yeah.
So bowling green.
So here's the thing.
If you are a Kentucky fan that is going to be at the Green Bay game Sunday, let me know.
I'd love to have you come by and see me, Myron.
We start our NFL kickoff tour.
We're going to Dallas in October, Chicago in November, and then Cincinnati in December.
But we open up in Green Bay.
Here's the thing.
We have to go to a party, Shannon, at the head of ESPN.
radio now lives in Milwaukee.
Yeah.
So we have to go to a party in Milwaukee at the guy's house.
And they've specifically invited me and Myron and I'm bringing Mario because Mario's
riding with me.
So me, Myron, and Mario are going to be at this guy's house going, what's up, my man?
It's fair to bring a plus one when you're invited to a house party.
I told him.
I was like, I have to bring Mario.
And they said, okay.
So, you know, the head of ESPN radio going to be a little more.
Milwaukee house party.
Are you taking a dish, a bottle of wine, anything for the fridge?
We're going to take a casserole.
Myron was really big on that this summer.
What is going to take to his family reunion?
Yes.
Well, this is our boss.
Going to his house.
This Saturday night before the game?
Saturday night.
So I'm going to have to like...
Teleport.
Yeah.
I don't know.
We're going through a couple different options.
I may just hit the end of the party, but either way, they're going to be at the party.
And then your show Sundays at that draft king's house right by Lambeau Field?
Yeah, the house across the street.
Oh, man, that's not Drag Kings.
That was awesome.
Yeah, but yeah, we'll be there.
They fed us, had all this food, drinks.
It was awesome.
Should be fun.
But if you're in Dallas, by the way, that's our next one.
We don't have a place to do it yet.
So if you know somebody that has like a bar or something, reach out to me.
I think ESPN would be interested.
Who's next?
Ken.
Ken.
Ken, go ahead, Ken.
Hey, good morning, guys.
Quick thoughts on the current football situation.
and first of all, I'm a fan of Stoops.
But I think the one missing ingredient is discipline.
You saw Claiborne, you saw Rich Brooks, they had discipline teams.
They didn't beat themselves.
I'd like for somebody to do some research.
How many games in the Stoop era have we really been beat, and how many did we beat ourselves?
I mean, I think it's a fair point about discipline, especially in the last couple years, Drew.
This team has had, I don't know what the numbers are, but it has led the SEC and penalties the last few years,
and I think discipline has been a big part of it.
You've mentioned that arrogance they had.
I don't really see that this year.
I don't either.
A lot of taunting and a lot of flexing when you're not even winning on the scoreboard at certain moments.
That's not the case this year, but the penalties were a huge problem on last Saturday.
No doubt.
Who's next?
Let's go to Sean from Austin.
Sean, you'll be got about a minute.
Yeah, it'll be quick.
I was listening when I was doing some yard work out there.
I still love Kentucky even though I'm Austin, but guys, I'm just feeling, I mean, stick a fork in them.
They're done.
Well, I hope that's not true, but I kind of wonder if it is.
You don't want to say that two games in the season.
I appreciate the call, but it's hard.
If you remark, real quick, what would you say tonight?
I would say that I'm mad, this is unacceptable, and we're going to change it around.
And that's what I want to hear from my coach.
I want him to say this is not the way Kentucky football is going to be the rest of the season.
What would you say?
I would definitely show some emotion, very angry.
I would probably even call out Wolford by name, even though I would normally do that.
I mean, the line, it's the story.
It made everything else bad around it.
So the line needs to be a big part of a discussion, how they're going to fix it,
how it's even as bad as it was.
I need to hear some answers.
It's pretty awful, and he needs to say something positive tonight because
you know next Saturday.
I think we'll be, I think that stadium will still have people there next Saturday,
but I worry about the next one.
That's an Ohio game.
That's the one.
No, how's it noon.

K-O-R-T.com.
It is court-physical therapy.
Folks Saturday was maybe the low point in the stoop's era.
Hopefully it bounces back, or is it the start of the permanent decline?
I guess we're going to find out over these next few weeks.
Thank you all very much for listening.
We'll be back here.
We are here tomorrow and Wednesday, Bowling Green Thursday, Country Boy in Georgetown Friday.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygle and friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob
Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hardway.
with your favorite therapist and host Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences,
having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere,
but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor.
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to,
listen to learn the hard way on the AHA radio app, Apple Podcast,
or wherever you get your podcast.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and I'm Michelle McPhee,
and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on,
a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.

Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Thank you.
