Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist and host, Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really
not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who
knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capabilities.
that does not mean that you need to.
Listen to learn the hard way on the AHA radio app, Apple Podcasts,

I'm Michelle McPhee,
and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance
I've ever reported on,
a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house,
Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets,
a billion-dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know.
is somebody coming after me.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio.
We are here at the KS Bar and Grill.
It is Wings Day, Dollar Wings all day.
If you come in, bring your family, bring people you meet on the street.
It's a good way to get to know each other.
And dollar wings, I get 70 cents bonus.
It's a great deal.
That doesn't go off the tongue as well.
70 cent day.
It's cheaper, though.
I think I'm going to stick around and have it for lunch today.
Good, you should.
I got to teach my class today.
Today we are talking about more torts.
More torts.
Yeah, torts is a two day.
It's two days.
It is.
Two days worth a torch.
You have to understand there's a lot of torts in the world.
People are giving other things that they do.
Where do you, where were you when besides 9-11, etc?
Princess Dydines.
She's probably got to be in our top five list.
Yeah, we forgot about that.
Berlin Wall coming down.
That's another good one.
You like that one?
Yeah.
Waco.
Waco, yeah, that's up there with the Oklahoma City bombing.
Both of those kind of really are glued to your TV.
Rodney King?
Oh, it's another good one.
That's another good one.
Yeah.
January 6th?
Yes.
There was a sense of like, what's going to happen with this?
You know, that was definitely.
Did you say Reagan Bean shot?
Yes.
You said Reagan being shot.
The night they got Ben Laden is another one.
Oh, yeah, when they got bin Laden.
That's right.
It was broken by the rock.
Still, one of the craziest things.
The rock broke the story.
Isn't that?
A big scoop for the rock.
You know, wait till the miss breaks the next one.
They'll be a little, that'll be a big day.
Do you all have any, like, celebrity deaths?
Because I can remember everything about the moment I found out Chris Farley died.
I could draw a picture of the room right now.
Really?
I have everyone I was with.
I remember it's so vividly.
I don't know why.
I mean, I'm just fan.
Magic Johnson getting AIDS.
Yeah.
I remember that.
I remember that press conference, and I was a big Magic Johnson fan.
And I remember standing there and just being shocked.
Michael Jackson dying.
You said it's celebrity deaths.
Kurt Cobain and Tupac.
Yeah.
Those are ones, I think, in my generation, especially Kurt Cobain.
That was very much like that kind of was the age that it hit me, that he had died.
I think that was a big one.
Some people will say Kobe, a lot of yoke.
Like if Mario was here, I bet he would say Kobe.
We were in Iowa.
We were in Iowa going into that restaurant.
Did you have lunch?
I remember I was in the back of the car and I told you all.
I was looking at Twitter like, wait a minute, this can't be right.
And we all got silent.
Yeah, that's true.
We were in Iowa.
859-28027.
Before we get back the phones for asking anything, Wednesday, let's talk for a second about basketball.
Somebody asked me, you know, how's the basketball team been doing?
and I realized we haven't heard a whole whole lot.
So last night I made a couple of the texts.
And the thing I continue to hear is this team gets along well.
They're going to play fun and be ready to see a ton of threes.
Basically, I'm told this team will be not terrible defensively,
but defense will not be, you know, they've got like, I think,
three or four guys they feel really good about defensively.
and a lot of the other guys they may have to cover up a little bit defensively,
but they love the amount of points they can score,
and they do think they can put a lineup on the floor to get stops,
whereas, say, last year maybe they couldn't.
There is a lineup, Drew, they can put out there where they feel good defensively,
but I was told be ready for it to be fun,
and be ready, one person told me, be ready for it to be smart,
meaning this team is going to play a smart level of basketball that fans will enjoy.
Well, even in the summer practice videos, we saw just how far along they are in detailed,
much farther than when you're having a bunch of freshmen, they're just still learning how to get together and play.
I mean, they were in some very advanced stuff in their first practices.
I'm interested to see the starting five because I had one I thought was it.
And then, like, Jeff Borzello wrote a story yesterday.
He put his out, and I disagreed with it.
He had Carisa as the starting point guard.
I kind of thought that's Lamont Butler.
But when I see things like that, I wonder if is he completely guessing or does he know something there?
I think the starting lineup is wide open.
Yeah, I mean, I think this is.
I think it is as wide open as we've ever had in terms.
I mean, with Cal, you could guess four of the guys, really in part based just on recruiting
ranking and stuff.
I think for this team, the only guy I feel 100% confidence going to start is Jackson
Robbins.
Beyond that, I could see a lot of different people.
If you ask me, okay, who's the second most likely person to start?
I would say Lamont Butler.
I don't think they brought him in to come off the bench.
But it wouldn't shock me if Carr was the starter.
I thought that about Butler, but CBS and now ESPN have both projected the five,
and they didn't have him.
And that's maybe one or just the blogger guessing to get some content up
or if they actually had conversations.
I still think it's going to be Butler.
I feel like Carr and Williams are locked in.
It's basically what are they going to do with the back to.
Williams, I agree.
The guards could be any combination, really.
Williams is another one.
The big guy, you're right.
You're right.
The big guys, Carmen Williams.
I think it's going to be fun, but I think I can never think of a season in my lifetime
where I know less about what's going to happen than this group.
I will also go as far as to say, I don't think we've ever had a season where fans know the team less.
You know what I mean?
Like, just go up to an average fan and say, name me the roster.
B.V. Hartman.
We've never had a completely new roster like this.
Yeah, I mean, I don't think most.
people I saw a couple of the players walking through walking the other day through town and
no one stopped them.
No one looked at them like.
And even me, I was like, is that?
I know those guys are on the team, but which ones?
I mean, the one guy, Ansley.
Alamonar.
Almanor.
Almanor.
Would not know him.
Yeah.
I mean, would not.
If he came in here and said Anzley party of two, I'm not sure I would know it was him, to be
I was on campus last week, and Trent Noah went by me on a scooter, just blending right in with all the students.
Yeah, so that's going to be interesting is how this group is, like, going to be introducing to themselves to the team, almost to the state as a blank slate.
And on the other side, they're doing a lot of events together where they're showing up to different events.
No, they're doing a lot.
Yeah.
They're doing a lot.
I give them a lot of credit.
And then, you know, the blue-white game is going to be fascinating this year because it's at Memorial.
It's going to be a fundraiser for NIL.
You know, I think it's going to be, it's going to be a different.
kind of thing. I think it's going to be probably a higher price ticket than people are used to,
but it's also going to be, I think I've heard kind of an interactive event, and it's going to be,
you know, that's going to be interesting. I think a lot of the people that get to go to that are going
to have a good experience. It's just going to be, it's going to be a different kind of year, you know,
and I'm excited about it. I think, I think Kentucky basketball needed a shot in the arm.
Yeah. You know, it needed like a little bit of, you know, sometimes you need a makeover.
Right? You need, you're like, new haircut.
Take a shower.
Mike Gundy might need to look at that.
Like, yeah, I think that's what we're going to get here.
We're exactly one month from Big Blue Madness today.
I'm excited for that.
Speaking of something that needs a shot in the arm,
I know it's getting one because the coaching changed,
but I'm interested to see what Pope,
if they've put any new spins on Big Blue Madness
and just how everything looks moving forward.
Earnhardt death.
Another good one.
Yeah, that's a good one.
That's a regressive dinner.
That's one that hit me really, palms.
It was the Earnhardt death.
Earnhardt's death, the way it happened and all that.
That's one that definitely...
Absolutely.
Yeah, that's one that definitely...
That's when NASCAR was still the king, like lead story a lot of times.
Daytona 500?
Daytona, biggest race.
Daytona, 500?
Yeah, I mean, that...
We've talked about that many times, but that was a movie the way all that went out with his son and his friend.
Yeah.
It's just...
Wow.
Who's up next, Shannon?
Mark Anthony.
Mark Anthony.
How are you?
I'm good, Matthew, Andrew, Shannon.
Hey, you know, fellas, I was in grade school when Kennedy was kids.
So that might be the oldest memory of anybody's got present.
I think there are people who there's my,
Larry says he remembers hearing radio broadcasts
as a kid, you know, talking about like Hitler.
Wow.
No kidding.
You know, so I mean, so you're not the oldest, Mark Anthony.
There are people older than Kennedy.
The Kennedy's assassination out there.
Larry's got me.
Hey, I'm glad, you know, I remember hearing Matthew from people who played against Pope's teams last year that he ran an offense that was hard to defend.
And it had movement, it had screen, it had structure.
And I think that's going to be something I'm going to be glad to see because Cal, he did like concepts, not so much structure.
And I think there were a lot of times, and especially the kids he recruited were young and could have used a little.
more detail in what he was wanting
to do. And he didn't
give it to him. And as far as the old line
Matt, what your fella said about
it, you know, I admit I haven't seen
every football game, but of the
ones I've seen, that was
the worst butt kicking I've ever seen an offensive
line take. And
it's pretty bad. It was pretty bad.
What are we going to do about it?
I don't know. I don't know.
I appreciate the call. I mean, I don't know
what you do when you just get destroyed
you know, in and out.
To his first point about coaches,
I cannot remember who the coach was that said it.
Drew, but there was a Big 12 coach last year
that there is a video out there
where he says something like
Gardy Mark Pope's teams is the hardest thing to do.
I think it's Kelvin Samson.
Kelvin Samson.
That's exactly who it was.
A good defensive coach, too.
Yes.
He said, you just cannot prepare for Pope's teams
because they do stuff
that no one else does.
Yeah, I mean, that's a guy, one of the best coaches in the country,
complaining about what he had to do to get ready for playing Mark Pope.
And on the point about the offensive line that he made,
Nick Rouse tweeted last night that on 22 dropbacks,
the quarterback was pressured 15 times.
That's pretty terrible.
15 of 22.
So, yeah, so again, if you're trying to judge Vandergrif,
if he was pressured 15 of 22 times, then just what?
Look at the other seven?
You know, I mean, he doesn't, didn't have a lot of,
opportunities to play normal.
Back to what I'm saying about Pope,
you know, Nate Oates, for instance, plays analytically.
They get up and down the court, but their offense is not complicated.
Okay, they run and it's been successful, but it's not complicated.
I think you're going to see the level of shooting that Oates does,
but a more complicated offense in getting the shots.
It's got to be when, you know, one of his first press conferences,
he talked about using algorithms and things that he does offensively
that he's putting in right now because he knows his players need this much time to kind of
pick it up, whereas Cal wouldn't even put stuff into, like, December.
Did you say algorithms?
Yeah, Pope talks about algorithms with his offense.
Oh, really?
What does he say?
I don't know.
He just used the word algorithm.
Huh.
What does he mean, then?
I don't know.
It's way above my pay grade.
But I'm not sure what algorithm means in that context.
I don't know.
Maybe he gets on TikTok to look at film.
and what algorithm he gets in?
Well, I'd be interested
that maybe we'll ask him that
the next time he's on
because I don't know what that means
in that context.
One thing he does
and I'm going to sound like Cal
is I'm going to use the player
empowerment phrase,
but like they make a lot of plays
based on what's in front of them
and they're so far along
that, you know,
it's a little more free flowing
and players are making decisions
in the moment
and a lot of that comes with
building that chemistry this early on.
That's why they look so advanced
in those practices we've already seen.
Who's up next?
Bob and Jamestown.
Bob and Jamestown, 859-280-2287.
What are you got?
Matt, are you a fan of Red Lobster?
They've just emerged from bankruptcy.
The Cheddar Bay Biscuits have been saved.
And when you go to that mint tomorrow and Bowling Green,
Red Lobster's right next door.
Yeah, I'm not going to go to Red Lobster.
But I'm glad to hear that.
There's a waitress there named Amy that's been there 32 years.
Yeah, I don't want to know why you know that.
What is your question?
Well, I just wondered if you like Red Lobster.
Oh, if we like Red Lobster.
Okay, got you.
So they're back?
I appreciate the call.
I didn't either.
It's an interesting question from Bob and James Town.
Do you like Red Lobster?
I do.
I haven't been in years, but the biscuits we've talked about, excellent, excellent stuff.
Shannon, the last time I went to Red Lobster, Matt took us out to that fancy dinner.
That's right.
Yep.
I'll take you guys out to a really nice dinner tonight.
I'll go, where are we going?
Red Lobster.
Red Lobster.
In his defense, the shrimp was endless that night.
It was.
And we had them.
What person writes, Matt, do you do your ESPN show from home or from ESPN?
Maybe you don't follow what you're saying and you like working from home.
I would rather, there is no doubt that I would do a better show on ESPN if I was there.
There's no doubt.
I mean, like, Myron and I have learned how to do it, but it was better when we were together.
And that's why for the big shows, the Super Bowl, the NCAA tournament, they flies there.
Right?
Yeah.
Because it is, shows are better if you're in the same place.
Go watch the shows that they have that are daily.
Notice what's happening.
They're all in the same place.
And they're all in studio.
I mean, like here, we're not in studio, but we're all in the same place except Shannon.
And it would be a better show if Shannon was here too.
It just can't work technically like that.
Tomorrow will, though.
We'll all be together.
Tomorrow will all be together.
But I'm a big believer.
I think radio is actually a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
You know, at ESPN, we get together for 20 minutes before the show via Zoom and plan.
If I worked at ESPN full time and we came in, they spent an hour or two before the show in there,
then you get to know the people in the office, which then you have better chemistry with.
So when you bring them on, you know each of, like all that would be better.
I understand it's a trade-off.
Like there's value to people being able to see their kids.
And I'm not saying that.
But if you're just talking from a work perspective,
it is, of course, better to be in an office than it is to be at home for the efficiency of the office.
Well, for us, we enabled us to feed off each other.
When we had to do it separately during COVID, there's a little awkward at times.
It's much, much harder to do this stuff.
Anything.
Yeah.
It just is.
Yep.
Tell me about Stockton mortgage.
Stockton mortgage.
You know if you're thinking about buying a new home, thinking about building a new home, thinking about adding on to your home,
Stockton mortgage should be the first people that you call.
They're easy to work with.
They're all over the state.
They're growing.
They're in like probably every community in this entire state by now.
If not, they're going to be there pretty soon.
So give them a try.
Stockton.com, NMLS, 8259, 8259-20287.
Is Ask Anything Wednesday.
A couple open lines.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.

I'm talking.
Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect.
We were God's chosen, kingdom on earth.
He felt destined for greatness.
So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion dollar fraud.
But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire start?
survive. The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is
somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the

The question is, how do you conquer them? On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most
inspiring women in sports and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk
about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going from the WNBA standout
Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't.
Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel like.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeke.
The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.
At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world.
Like, I can do anything.
I can do anything.
Because resilience isn't just about winning.
It's about showing up, even when it's hard.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio.
It's Mark Pope and Alvin Brooks's birthday today, which is also September 11th.
There's a woman here who also is birthday September 11th.
She said she actually celebrates it the day before or the day after, usually.
But I didn't know Mark Pope's birthday was September 11th.
I think it is kind of awkward to have your birthday on today.
So you can pick the day before, day after, to go out for eat with your family and celebrate a little bit.
One person writes, Matt, your opinion on work from home is outdated.
Anyone doing things you mentioned at the physical location could do it from home.
You just don't realize that radio show is different from other people's jobs.
Sounds like somebody working from home to me.
Sounds like somebody likes to work from home.
I understand.
But like folks, like at lunch here, we always have a lot of people who do construction or something like that.
They don't get the option of working from home.
I mean, it is a very white collar job thing to be like work from home.
Most people don't, I mean, people work at this restaurant.
They don't get to work from home.
Like, work from home is very much a, and I had a white-collar job.
I was a lawyer for eight years.
If you had told me I could work from home, I would not have been as productive as I was in that office when I knew a lawyer could come in there and make sure that I was doing my thing.
I mean, I hold you accountable.
Yeah.
Now, is it more fun, or not fun is not the word, but is it more convenient for the employee?
Sure it is.
But I'm just saying, you're not going to be.
Nobody can look at me in the eye and say that if they're, that they are more productive.
I won't say nobody.
There may be people who are.
The vast majority of people are not going to be more productive from home than they are in an office.
It'll take a certain level of discipline that maybe some people have.
You better have a lot of discipline.
You're right.
Self-discipline.
I'll give it.
When I wrote my book, I got to the point that I couldn't make myself finish it.
So I made myself go into the Simon and Shoester office every day from 9 to 6,
because it made me work on it.
If I was at home, which at the time was in New York at my ex-girlfriend's house,
I would get distracted.
Sure.
Mayberry would start yapping or whatever, and I would get distracted.
But when I went, made myself go downtown, go to that Simon & Schuster building,
walk inside, blah, blah, blah, I drew was just more productive.
Now, there are some office settings where I wonder how anyone works.
Like these places with open cubicles, there are just a bunch of people and everyone's around.
That would be tough.
There are scenarios where I think being at home, you'd be more productive.
but there's a lot of distractions when you're at home.
Ryan,
the Shadur Sanders said,
in defending himself from the game Saturday,
said,
was talked about,
mentioned some defensive player on Nebraska and go,
did you ever see our guys put a hand on him at all?
Basically completely through his offensive line under the bus.
Something, for instance,
Brock Van deGrift didn't do,
whereas I'm sure he could have.
The Colorado thing is about,
to like completely implode and it's going to be it's going to be something to watch
they play Colorado State this weekend maybe it implodes a Saturday not good for
team camaraderie there in the locker room when they're you're throwing out your
offensive line under the bus you know usually you're the quarterback you're the first
people to kind of defer you know right away so doing something like that sure I wonder
it's going to be an interesting week of practice it just feels like they're a three-man
team with Hunter Sanders and horn the receiver other Sanders is hurt now and we're just
waiting for them to go to the NFL and I can
expect Dion will step away from the job and latch on to whatever they're doing.
Yeah.
Do you think any – who's more likely to be the coach of their program next year?
Mark Stoops or Dionne's saying?
I can't imagine Dionne will stay to coach Colorado once his son's gone.
Because, yeah, like you said, they're kind of imploding.
They're not going to end up winning four games last year.
They may not even get to four this year, so it's getting bad.
Who's up next?
Larry.
Larry, how are you, Larry?
I'm good, guys.
Hey, I'm taking a take on this football.
I really think Kentucky's
you'll have a big game this weekend.
I think that we've got a lot of talent
on this team, and I think they got
caught up maybe looking ahead of Georgia
and game day, and then they panic
when it didn't go their way.
I look for them to go back to
just run the ball,
just like we used to play Georgia, a low-scoring
game, in the trenches
and just fighting it out.
Georgia's first time on the road this year,
you know they're overconfidence.
So I really look for that game,
that Kentucky all-time plays against Georgia to happen this Saturday.
Well, let's talk about that.
Let's see what would happen if, I appreciate the call.
Let's take the hypothetical Kentucky plays Georgia's Saturday.
They lose 20 to 14, and they had the ball at the end with a chance to drive down.
Let's say that game occurs like that.
Do you come out of there?
Does this fan base come out of there feeling good?
Because, I mean, I think Kentucky could play a perfect game Saturday and still lose.
So do you, if that were to happen, do you think people would kind of buy back in at that point?
I would, like I answer to myself, I would, if they show me they're going to show up and compete against the best team in the country and playing within a touchdown,
I absolutely feel a lot better about how the rest of the season is going to play out.
Yeah, I would get some of my excitement back.
I don't know if anyone's going to be all the way in after what happened against South Carolina,
but you played Georgia close, which I actually think they're going to surprise us and play pretty well.
Unfortunately, it's Georgia.
Kentucky's not going to win.
But the last two times George was here, they scored like 14 and 16 points.
So it won't shock me if that defense shows up and kind of holds the Bulldogs back from making a complete blowout.
Okay, so what if it's 2710, which is maybe we would still cover, okay, still cover, still do better than people thought, but you still lost by 17, which, by the way, I think that is the most likely result is we're going to get a score like that where I don't.
don't think people really know what to think about it.
I think we're headed that way, too.
Yeah.
I mean, I would, if they compete, I still are, I'm going to look at it, are you competing,
not having 10 penalties in one half, you know, things like that to show me that you're,
you came to play.
You know, you didn't show up and go half ass going through it.
You show up to compete against Georgia.
I love, as we talked about on Fade This, which the new episode's out if you want to hear it.
Drew, I love LSU covering against South Carolina and us covering against Georgia because
because I don't think we are as bad or they are as good as it looked,
but you can still play good and lose by 17 to Georgia.
That's how good they are.
Yeah, and last Saturday was so bad, just playing good.
It's going to take more than that.
The problem with the schedule is, okay, if you demolish Ohio,
that doesn't prove anything.
You go to Ole Miss, that's going to be a hard game to make a good case.
So it could be another month before we really have any idea what Kentucky is.
Todd McShay on that same Ryan Rusillo show.
He goes, who's your top five teams in the country?
He said one Georgia, two Texas, three Ohio State, four Tennessee,
five old miss. We got them all. We play four of those five. So that's what's the hit.
We'll take a break. Be right back. Let's see us. Kentucky Sports Radio.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back. Techie Sports Radio here at KS. Bar and Grill. Wings Day, Dollar Wings,
all day. We got me, Ryan, and Drew. Tomorrow we are at the Mint and Bowling
Green, the grand opening, I have to place another ceremonial first bet.
So you did it last year.
We were down in Weingburg.
I picked Kentucky to win the national championship.
That didn't.
Didn't pan out for it yet.
What are you going to go on for tomorrow?
Probably not going to do Kentucky to win the national championship.
I think, and I don't really want to do Kentucky to cover against Georgia.
So I'll probably do Kentucky to beat Louisville at the end of the year.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that's a good pick.
I think I'll do that one.
I feel like that's one that I can do.
and feel pretty good about.
You could bet on a tutty against Georgia.
That's true.
Maybe I will bet a tutty.
I'm big on tuddies.
Dane is plus 370.
Ooh, I like it.
Dane Tuddy?
Dimmie's like plus 200 something.
You know, your big tutty guy.
Then Friday we're at Country Boy.
A lot of stuff going on.
There's like going to be Humane Society out there.
The UK Women's Soccer Team.
We're going to be out there.
So come see us before Mario and I will be taking off from there
and heading towards the Green Bay.
Pre-game show on Saturday.
these guys will all be here.
I'll be on the show for a good part of it,
but these guys will all be here at the bar
for all the pregame festivities.
But off to Green Bay with Mario.
So that should be a lot of fun.
859-280-2287.
One person writes, Matt, there's a lot of people here defending
their working from home.
And I'm not going to argue with all of you.
If you like it and you say you're more productive,
I will, I mean, I'm not going to say you're not.
That's maybe most of you, some of you,
Some of you, most of you are, but I still would say in general.
People are not, but that's okay.
But I'll tell you one more thing.
I forgot to say this about why I'm an advocate of working in an office.
It's not just about productivity.
We are social beings.
We as humans are social beings.
And I worry that humans are becoming more and more isolated.
They live in their own little worlds, their own little bubbles.
Then you get to online, you can get even more.
in your own little bubble, you can think that the way you see the world is the only way to see
the world.
It shows up in politics, but also just shows up in life.
Like you can just be somebody who only likes, you know, world of Warcraft.
Or is that a game?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then you just, your whole world is filtered through that.
Offices require social.
You have to deal with people that are different than you.
And I think there's positivity to that.
I've been working from home for almost 15 years.
now. Now I do the show every day. I get out more.
Do you get the only?
Very much so. I mean, I get to play.
I'll go to a coffee shop or a restaurant just to have some kind of human interaction.
Now, it's nice to wake up, not have a commute or you can work in your pajamas.
But that over and over, it does get to, you mean, you go days out talking a full day without
even speaking.
I think a lot of people will stay in better physical health by going out.
Like if you're just by yourself every single day, I mean, when COVID hit, I'm not the only.
I think I put on a lot of weight.
I think other people did.
Oh, yeah.
Like you just, you almost, you can't help it.
So I do also think there's a benefit.
And then there's the economic benefit, which is a lot of our cities, the downtowns are sitting empty.
Oh, yeah.
Because the office space, and that's not good.
That's not good.
I mean, we have a lot of that in Louisville as well.
And there are other part reasons for that, but a lot of it is people are working from home.
And these downtown office spaces are going, going empty.
I mean, New York has filled back up, but a lot of cities have it.
And that's a negative.
I think the social impact you're talking about, because when you work from home, you're sending an email, you're sending a text.
You're not talking to people.
You know, that's important.
And I have a friend that she works from home because her corporate offices are out of town, but they encourage her once a week to go to, like Drew said, a restaurant, a bar, a library, somewhere to get out once a week.
They require it.
Can I give you the who does each show?
Yeah.
Amber Philpott and Bill Bryant,
Larry Smith, and Megan Manoring.
That's right. That's her name.
TVQ is John Lingren and Sky Yancy.
No, it's not.
Nobody knows who TVQ is.
I know those two people are.
And then D-K-Y's Marvin Bartlett and Andrea Walker.
Marvin's been doing it from day one.
Like 30 years.
And Andrew is a local.
She's from Jess McGarney, I think.
Yeah.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Sean.
Sean, we didn't get the TVQ.
If anybody knows, I'd love to put that.
I know Picoro's on it, but go ahead, Sean.
Hey, guys.
I appreciate you taking my call.
I want to transition back to basketball real quick, Matt.
I was fortunate to play in the late 90s for one of the in-state universities,
and I played for a very tactical coach.
I'm not sure our fan base, at least those under the age of 25 or 30,
have had the opportunity to witness a tactical game coach by tactical coach.
And I think I think that's a big deal because we're going to see somebody who can make in-game changes, run out of bounds, plays, be able to adjust to the other team.
If a guy's going off, he may actually switch defenses, things like that that our young fans have never seen.
And that's very exciting.
I think you're exactly right about that.
And I appreciate the call.
I mean, Cal had many, many strengths, but I wouldn't call him a master tactician.
and I think that you will see tactical coaching.
I think that's a really good point.
You're going to see plays run.
I also think when a play succeeds,
Mark Pope will tell you what he did.
He won't go.
Do you see what I did?
Can anybody guess what I did?
Tom, what I do?
Like he'll actually tell you and show you,
and you're right.
For a lot of our younger fans, they haven't seen that.
Now, they have seen athleticism where dudes can just do things that are like,
wow.
We might not see as much of that.
Right.
But we probably will see a lot of, to put it in a different way,
get ready for a lot more Antonio Reeves and a lot less Rob Dilling-Ams.
That's, I mean, that's probably what we're looking at over the next few years.
Do you agree with that?
I absolutely agree with that.
Yeah, we're going to see things that, like the caller said,
that the way the basketball is changing, we have not seen here.
Our offense always been, my guy's better than your guy.
my guy is going to go out and beat your guy one-on-one.
And I'm going to set up my guy to succeed.
That's the way Cal looked at it, to be fair to him.
This will be more, you got a good guy, I got a good guy, I'm going to outthink your guy.
Yes.
Right?
I'm excited to see the space on the court.
Williams, who's going to start at center, is almost like a point guard.
He's not even the paint.
He kind of runs things from the top of the key.
And guys are cutting.
You know, we had obvious complaints with Cal having too many bigs and severe and guys driving
into the lane hitting the trees.
There's going to be a lot of empty space in the way Pope runs his offense.
To use an NBA term, we're going to, again, we're not going to have anybody nearly as good
as this guy, but we're going to be watching the Nuggets, right?
Yokic doesn't overwhelm people.
Yokic out thinks people, and Yokic is amazingly talented, but he wins by outthinking people.
We're going to see a lot of that.
You know, one of the things that's made LeBron so good is he's been.
both the physical specimen and he out thinks people.
That's what makes him such an amazing player.
You're going to see a college version of people trying, I think, to outthink and then beat
them, which is just going to be very different than what we're used to.
Who's next?
Lucky.
Lucky.
How are you lucky?
Thanks to take a call, guys.
Got a hypothetical I've been pondering on for a while.
Georgia Big Z's debut game last year.
Hypothetically, let's say he got a leg injury in the second half.
Missed the entire season.
Yeah.
When somebody had took a chance on him and would he gone top 10 in a drought or maybe the
Oh, that's a great question.
That's a great question.
Let's say Big Z only had the first half.
Let's not use a leg injury because that scares people.
But let's say then he broke his hand.
Okay, his non-shooting hand.
And so he's out for the rest of the year.
And he gets hurt in the second half of the Georgia game after that first half.
I think he goes in the first round of the draft.
I really do.
I think he probably does.
I don't think there's any doubt.
He was the biggest story in college basketball after that day.
If he had walked away, never played again, he is absolutely a first round draft pick.
I mean, if you remember in the mock drafts after the Georgia game,
he was in the top 15 in some people's mock drafts after that Georgia game.
So, yeah, I think he would have.
I said that night that if he were looking out for himself,
he would have walked out of that Rupp arena at halftime and not looked back
and said, that was my college basketball.
He would have become like a legendary figure.
It was like a myth.
Yeah, if Big Z was looking out for Big Z at halftime,
he would have walked straight to his car and not come back.
Yeah.
Yeah, a leg injury, you know, that can make people worried.
But if he had like a non-shooting wrist injury in that second half,
and didn't play the rest of the year.
He is a first-round draft pick.
I would think that's almost certain.
Who's next?
Tom.
Tom.
Go ahead, Tom.
Did I hear you say that you all were going to be in Bowling Green tomorrow?
We are.
We are at the new Mint Casino in Bowling Green.
Okay, so if you have time at 4 o'clock tomorrow,
Ohio University of Bowling Green girls play a soccer game,
and you get to watch my granddaughter and a birchid play,
which she's a sophomore.
Well, didn't we meet, was that who we met last year that played for Ohio?
Yeah, she came to our show last year.
Yeah, she was very nice.
Yeah, we were in Athens, we were in Athens, Ohio, if you remember.
Oh, yes.
Yes, yeah.
No, I mean, I won't be able to do that, but, but, but, I hope, are you going to go see her?
Well, I'm not going to be able to.
I've got other granddad.
I've got a babysit by other granddos.
But listen, my question is, I'm a big, I was always a big Mark Stoops fan.
So do you think that the Beamer thing, you think he's getting out-coached,
or do you think that South Carolina has better talent?
Yes.
Well, I don't know if they have better talent.
I appreciate the call.
I think they have better talent in a couple positions, Drew,
but I think it is completely fair to say that at least in the last two years,
Stoops has been out coached.
The third year when the quarterback, well, Levis got hurt, that's a little different.
But the last two years, I think that's fair to say.
I agree.
I mean, three years ago, we ran that reverse on the first play and fumbled it,
and the game was over at that point, really.
But, Beamer has his number.
We don't want to admit it.
He's a dork, and, you know, Kentucky fans really don't like him.
But the guys whooped Stoops twice straight up.
For sure.
And three times in a row.

Let's get it on here on Wings Day.
A lot of people getting it on.
Well, maybe not a lot, but there were two.
Nice lunch crowd here, KS Bar and Grill, Dollar Wings all day and night.
So come on out.
We got them until the end of the evening.
Tomorrow, I'll announce it on the show, but I'm going to do another like Uncle Matt thing tomorrow for people.
Oh, that was a good one the first time you did.
Very successful.
Too successful.
So I'm still going to do it, but I'm going to try to make it maybe, you know.
But I'm going to do another one because I'm feeling generous.
We lost the game Saturday.
So if you're a student, they also do it for somebody.
We're going to do one more thing for student.
Then we're going to do them for like veterans do something and then make it like where we hit all groups.
Nice.
Except people who work from home.
They're the only ones that don't.
I'm just kidding.
Pay double you all.
Good football.
tomorrow soon? Yeah, it's what, Bill's Dolphins, which is good. I looked at the 30s night games.
There's a lot that aren't good, but Bill's Dolphins is a good one. That's, that's tomorrow night.
859-280, 20287. One person writes, this is question for Matt and Shannon. I know you two really like
the foo fighters. Were you upset that Dave Grohl admitted to having a love child?
What? I didn't even see this news. When did that come out?
Yeah, well, clearly you're not upset.
No, he said it yesterday.
Oh, I didn't see.
Are he and his wife getting a divorce or something or they're separated?
I have no idea.
That I don't know, but he just admitted.
He just admitted he has a...
I mean...
He's a rock star.
I mean, I'm not mad at him.
I mean, you know, what am I going to do?
yell at him.
I mean, I think people worry way too much.
It's about what the public think, like the singers and all that, like, what they care.
Like, you like their music.
You're not worried about that.
them as human beings.
At least I'm not.
Yeah.
I don't know them.
Yeah, I don't know them.
I mean, I don't, you know, if I couldn't listen to the music of like
singers who like different politicians and me, my whole country music world would
basically go away.
You'd be listening to him.
Yeah.
I mean, I love Travis Tritt.
I just don't read his Twitter a lot, right?
So if, for Dave Grohl, I mean, that stinks for whatever, but, you know, I mean, I'm not
going to be mad.
Where's the fake outrage?
I'm not listening to Everland and all that.
You got to love child.
I can't listen to Food Fighters.
That's everybody on Twitter right now.
I don't know if I would mock it, but I'm just saying.
We're talking about that during all the Michael Jackson stuff.
I'm still.
That's a little tougher, though.
The Michael Jackson and the R. Kelly, like, that's a little harder because that's a whole
another thing.
I've definitely dialed back the R. Kelly.
Space Jam soundtrack.
Arkelly's harder.
Like, I will admit, when Man in the Mirror comes on, I'm not going to act.
like I don't like it.
I know it's hard to turn that off.
Remix to ignition is tougher now.
Yeah.
But I still...
It's a remix, though.
I feel like that's different.
It's not the original.
That's true.
Good point.
Yeah, it's a remix.
The original's not good.
It's a remix.
All right, we're going to go back to phones first, so I don't end the show with this.
Court physical therapy.
If you need physical therapy, Ryan, you need it.
Court physical therapy was great to me.
How did it go?
They heard us talking about it on the radio.
They got me in that day.
And how did it go?
Great.
Do you feel better?
I feel 100%.
Now you're no vertigo.
No vertigo.
Don't even need a referral, right?
Don't even need a referral.
Yeah, exactly.
They take most insurance.
They do take most insurance.
That's at court.com.
That's k-or-t.com.

Who's up next?
Kyle.
Kyle, go ahead, Kyle.
Hey, what's going on, guys?
Not much.
So y'all are talking about Trump's comments on people eating dogs and cats.
I have actually had the opportunity to.
to try a dog.
So I was curious.
Are you in Ohio?
No, I was
I was in some board country and it's like
it's something they do.
They eat dog there.
They're like pests.
So you just did it?
Did you know?
Did you know that's what you were eating?
Oh yeah, yeah.
I knew.
I'm a chef, so I like to try stuff.
Oh.
So I was given the opportunity and I ate it.
I was wondering,
Given the opportunity, how many of you all would try a dog?
Not me.
Not me.
No.
Not even think about it.
No.
What about you, Drew?
Appreciate the call.
This isn't an ask-anything thing.
I'll eat anything.
That is anything.
I'll eat anything, especially if I'm another country and it's something they do.
I'd try it.
But I think I would draw the line of the dog just because I like dogs too much.
Yeah, I don't think I would do it.
But if I did it, I certainly wouldn't say it.
It is strange how we pick which animals were.
going to eat. See, that's what I was about to say, though. I do think, I think 90% of our listeners
would say, no, I would never do that. Okay. But it is interesting how we as humans just decide
we'll eat any animal, but then there's a couple that like you're a bad person if you do.
You get pardoned dogs and cats. Dogs and cats and horses. Yeah. In Kentucky, people are like that.
But like cows and chickens, like you have a whole bar about it, right? And it's really just,
just decided this one is different than this one.
With that said, I'm a part of society, so I guess I agree.
But, you know, like Jake, you said, if I go to a foreign country and they serve me, I don't know, pick a rhino.
I'm eating the rhino.
I'm probably going to eat the rhino.
I'm definitely eating the rhino.
But it feels weird when that guy said he did it with something, you know?
Yes.
I think I would eat every animal but a dog.
So you would eat a cat?
given the circumstances.
I hate cats.
I mean, if I'm somewhere where other people are eating it and it's served and it's like a delicacy, I would try it.
I'm not just going to go start grabbing animals off the street to try it.
I watched you all when he said that and you had some.
I like dogs.
I like the good boys.
Can't eat a dog.
Well, I didn't expect this to, I didn't expect this to be how we ended the show.
Let's just name news anchors again.
Let's go back to, you know, the news anchors.
Tomorrow we are in Bowling Green.
We're actually, we ended up punting the going out in Bowling Green because they had us in a hotel in like Memphis.
And so I'm just going to wait and leave in the morning.
I'm still getting in there.
But we are, but you're still going, right?
But we will be in Bowling Green at the Mint tomorrow and then Country Boy on Friday.
Thank you all very much for listening.
Yes.
Ryan Lemon, see you in Bowling Green tomorrow.
Let's beat the Bulldogs on Saturday.
That's right.
We'll see you tomorrow.
This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo,
and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline. And we're going straight to the source,
the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff
nobody gets to hear. Listen to Sports Slice on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever

Life is full of hurdles. So how do you keep going? On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we're talking with
the most inspiring women in sports and wellness from professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions,
about the challenges that shape them and the mindset that keeps them moving forward. At our level,
at this scale, being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can,
like, I can do anything. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the I-heart.

Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist and host
Kear Games. This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that
it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional
who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit or armor? It signals to the world
that you're not to be played with. And just because you have the capability,
That does not mean that you need to.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on.
A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know.
is somebody coming after me.
