Starting point is 00:03:55 Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio here at the KS Bar and Grill. Come on out, have lunch. See us. We got, come say hi for Mario's birthday. It's his birthday. Don't you want to say a happy birthday to him? I mean, he's wearing his grandma glasses. He wants people to say hi to him, don't you, Mario, right?
Starting point is 00:04:13 Yeah, it's your birthday. Also, tonight is the Jets and the Patriots on Thursday night football, Aaron Rogers, and somebody from the Patriots. I don't know. Jacoby Preset. Is that right? Mark Pope, Hard Break, Waits for no one. Wakes for no one.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I didn't mean, you know, I didn't want him to be cut off, but Hard Breakwakes for no one. It just happens. There's nothing you can do about it. It hits, and there it is. But I thought that was great. He is extremely, he's so interesting and, like, he's just engaging about the players in a way that I know fans really want him to be. Everything out of his mouth.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Every single word was positive. Every player, positive, fans, positive. I just love that about him. Now, you know, he sounds like he's had several cups of coffee this morning. The energy level is always. That's good. That's excellent. That's good.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Love it. I like that. I like everything about that. Here's how I know, Drew, that the fan base is engaged in listening when he's on, no text to the text machine. That means everybody is locked in and listening to every word he says. And I like that he goes player by player and gives details about what they're good at and what they do. Like, you know, that's what fans, what they want that level of detail. And I also think, you know, he mentioned this is going to be like a press. practice, meaning like you're essentially going to get to watch a real practice.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Now, people are asking me about it being on television. I don't think it is. I don't think it's going to be on television. I think this is going to be something where, like, you get to see it if you're there. And I think that's also kind of cool in today's world where everything is on television. This is actually going to be something that I think is not on television and it's for the people there. He said a lot of things I really liked, but one of my favorites was he said, bring your pom-poms because you're going to cheer, but also bring your notebooks.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Like this is going to be like a clinic. You're going to see how we coach. Basketball bennies and don't watch the tape and all that. He literally says, bring your notebook and take notes about the team. Like, I kind of like that too. It's a little intentional after just sit there and cheer and don't analyze a few months ago. But I love him saying that it's going to be like a clinic. He said, we're going to pull back the curtain.
Starting point is 00:06:21 We're going to mic up. You're going to hear how we coach. There's been so many questions of what this team will look like. We've all been speculating ever since you got here. But now you're finally going to get to see how they run the show. So those tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 10. We'll talk more about that tomorrow. One person writes, Matt, the Bond That Bridge Facebook page is unified that they don't want to hear you say the word Tuddy anymore.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Could you please not say the word Tuddy? The script says Tuddy. It does. It does. Should I stop with the Tuddy? I want more Tuddies. I would like to just score a Tuddy since we started saying it we've not scored one. That's a good point.
Starting point is 00:07:01 point. Shannon say the tutty word or just say touchdown. Yeah, touchdown's fine. I never heard the term tutty until we started talking about it two weeks ago. So I think touchdown is it even a term or is it just something they put in that script that I have to say? I'd heard it before. I think the youth say it more. Yeah, they do. Yeah. So if you want to stay young. Yeah, but is it one of those things like if I try to say it, it's not the, it's like, it's like if my, you know, somebody's parents goes, I'm a brat, like you would go, no, no, don't do that. Is that kind of what it is? I know, I think you're in a great spot with how you say it. I think your usage is perfect. Are you just asking? Are you just trying to make me more bad? Is that what I've told you?
Starting point is 00:07:41 I enjoy betting on the touchdowns or as you call them tutties. That's not what I call it. That's what the screen is. I wonder who you're talking about it more. I have to read what it says. I don't want to say that. It's just what it says. Yesterday was UK media day or not, excuse me, UK picture day. I hope not. I wasn't there. You weren't there. It was UK Picture Day for the NIL. And the players put out TikTok dances. So if you see it, there's players of people doing dances.
Starting point is 00:08:11 I was kind of surprised, again, I guess this is a TikTok thing now, that they were doing, I put my hand up on your hip. When I dip you dip, we dip, which is like a song for 20. Is that now, I think is it back, freak nasty, the dip? I never went away in my household, but it does seem that the next generation has found Freaknessy's catalog, which is one song, De Dip. So there were a lot of people that were seeing the videos. They got posted online.
Starting point is 00:08:37 I will say this team, I think they're going to be really good at basketball, not sure their future is in dancing. It was probably the worst dancing team we've had at UK in terms of they kind of didn't seem like dancers to me. But there were some people online that got mad at the videos and we're like, Why aren't you in the gym practicing? Come on. Which brings me to the same thing that happens every single year,
Starting point is 00:09:02 which is people say that, and I want to go to them. Do you think these people are not allowed to live? Like, that they are supposed to play basketball 17 hours a day? You know, at some point, they have to be able to do other things, Ryan. Yeah, they are. They're still 19, 20, 21-year-old college students. We forget that a lot of times, man. College students do other things than shooting 300 shots in an hour.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And they're not allowed to. At some point you have to sleep. You have to eat. You have to, you know, remember, engage with your family. And so, you know, how long you think it took them to make the TikTok? Four minutes? I feel like they have the time to spare that, Drew.
Starting point is 00:09:42 And I would get used to it. This seems to be a dancing team. It's not like a one-off. But they're not good. Oh, I agree. But in the past, like I feel like Jacob Toppin and Dante Allen were dancers. But they were just kind of one man in the locker room. I think the whole team will be doing it this year.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Do you think this came from Jared McLean or whatever in his, because, you know, he basically got almost, he has like millions of followers just because he would dance at Duke. Now, he was also first round pick that helped, but he was, people were following him before he was even a first round pick because of it. Do you think that's why people are doing this? It's just how these kids grew up. You know, in my age, you would put like some song lyric as you're away status on AOL and that was your online presence, some deep lyrics in your bio. This group, they just dance. They prop their phone up against something, and then they do a little dance and post it. Yeah, remember back in the day on MySpace, you picked a song that was like your song.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Yeah, had your top eight. That was always pressure. Oh, yeah, the top eight. See, they don't have to go through that. They just dance. Like, if you go to Frederick Douglass high school after school, you look around, there's 15 different groups of kids doing the little dance of some sort. Like, all over the place all day long. Football games, doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:10:53 If you go to Frederick Douglas High School, people are just dancing. Dancing everywhere. Yeah, like everywhere you look around, somebody's got it, they're doing a little dance. That was not. Mario,
Starting point is 00:11:05 I know you have to make clips of the Pope thing to put up, but if you get one more. We're trying to build that KSR TikTok account. Don't put him up there, just do me a favor. Just promise me that's not going to be something that goes up.
Starting point is 00:11:20 We have a new TikTok account, KSR, the show. You've gotten like 1,500 followers in like two days and you haven't even really done anything. yet. Don't put him on. That will make it go. I'll do the TikTok dance. Was that YMCA? First of all, that's, those are not, that looks like, those are they're always doing stuff, you know. Can I say those are similar movements I make when I have one of my episodes? That's kind of what they look like sometimes. I don't think that's what you
Starting point is 00:11:46 want to do. You got to sync up with your friend and do it all at the same time. All right, all right, that's enough. Who's up for next, Shannon? Jacob. Jacob. Go ahead, Jacob. Hey Matt, I just wanted to add a little bit to the friend Sheila McCoy lore. They at one point ran a haunted house in Houstonville. So I read about this haunted house and it sounded. So I read about the haunted house. Drew picked, it sounded dark. It sounded like a dark place for Houstonville.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Like there was, I don't know, I'm not going to get in the details. You could read the art. article, but it sounds like the haunted house in Houstonville was a rather dark place. Is that right? Yeah, it would not everybody liked it, but there was a lot of people that came. But it wasn't like just people jumping out and saying, boo, it was like some real life things. More real life. It wasn't only vampires and monsters, more real life situations.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I'm not, we don't need to go in the details, but just the article about it sort of described it, sir, as a different kind of haunted house than maybe. the one I would have thought, where you, like, put your hand in grapes and you think they're eyeballs or something. Yeah, that's fair. There's a lot of dark stuff, and, you know, there was, there was some controversy when it first started. You know, people didn't necessarily like it or whatever, but it's interesting. Yeah. All right. Well, I appreciate the call. Shannon, I got to bring up again. We talked about the Pagers exploding. And then yesterday, the Wauki-Tolk, He's exploded.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Now there's a report coming out that the way this happened is that whoever did it, and I think they think it's Israel. I haven't heard a confirmation that it's Israel, but I think that's what most people think, actually set up a fake company. Man. They have set up a fake pager and walkie-talkie company contracted with Hezbollah to buy the stuff, and then they bought it and all of the devices were rigged.
Starting point is 00:13:56 So it was not that they rigged a shipment of another companies. They literally created the company to do it, which is, again, if I saw that in a Netflix movie, Shannon, I wouldn't even believe that it could happen and then it actually did? Yeah. And wouldn't you be suspicious, though, of a company that started up and they're buying pagers in 2024? No, but they're sell, well, but you say that.
Starting point is 00:14:21 They're selling pages. and walkie-talkies, but they needed pagers and walkie-talkies. So, you know what I mean? Because apparently the cell phones, the Hesble people did not trust that their cell phones phones would not be tracked. So they were using pagers and walkie-talkies because they thought that would be what would be safe. Well, that's an interesting strategy.
Starting point is 00:14:43 But, yeah, so, you know, I'm worried, like you said yesterday, like what's next? If they can hack into pagers, walkie-tokies, if they can get into our phones. I have to tell you. I listen to a guy, again, people ask me all the time, where do I get balanced news? I'm not sure any news can really be totally balanced. But I found that the BBC, which is the British News Agency, when they talk about American politics, because they're not wrapped up in it, they actually tend to be the most unbiased. That makes sense? And they had a guy on their website who was talking about this, and he literally made me terrified.
Starting point is 00:15:19 He was like, this should wake America up to, or wake the world up, to how much thing, how many things could be remotely made scary. Like on planes, how many things on planes can be signaled from somewhere else. And if the wrong person got it in their hands, what they could do. He was like, we always think of things as like the old school bomb. He was like the future of terrorism is going to be items we already use that can be programmed to do something terrible. And when I heard that, Ryan, I can't help but think about, oh my goodness. Because again, if a country or if a terrorist group were to have access to flip something on our phones, we'd all be done. There's nothing we can do about that.
Starting point is 00:16:14 We all carry phones, right? And it's not like you're not, it's not like you're not going to. And again, I'm not making a judgment about what they did. But these people probably got pagers. And the last thing in the world they would have thought is that a text would come in and it would explode. They got the pagers to be saved. And they exploded the walkie-talkies at the funerals of the people who would. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:16:39 It's scary. Do you make you think, is this the beginning of the life that we're going to have to live in for a while? I mean, but the thing is you can't be paralyzed by fear. You're like, you can't leave your whole life and go, well, I'm not going to leave my house. But at the same time, I don't know, I feel like in like 10 years, I feel like we'll look back on this and go, wow, that was like a, oh my kind of moment. You know, in the late 90s when I was in college, we read an article called The End of History by Fukuyama. And his theory was the Cold War is over. The U.S. and the Soviet Union were the two powers.
Starting point is 00:17:17 The Soviet Union is gone. The U.S. is one. From now on, everybody's going to be cool because the U.S. runs the world. And then September 11th happened, and we realized, oh, wait a minute, we've always thought of danger as being countries. Now maybe danger is like individual groups of people. And I think our whole world changed that day. I kind of wonder if the technology revolution that we're in, it's about to change again.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Does that make sense? Yeah, we've got it so advanced, and it's the point, you know, as you said, individuals can come up with these things now. So it doesn't have to be a big military. I'm not trying to scare, but I know you're just trying to eat lunch and I get it. Like, I know you're just got their fries
Starting point is 00:17:58 and I'm not trying to like bring you down, okay, because, you know, enjoy your lunch. We even talked to her into the sweet potato fries. Yeah, and I turn. And I got the sweet. Listen, eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow. Who knows? So eat the sweet potato.
Starting point is 00:18:11 fries and everything will be good court physical therapy while you while we're alive let's let's stay in in shape right let's not let's not be in pain Ryan's been going to court physical therapy you seem better by the way than you did Monday well they they you know I never really realized they can help people like that have vertigo issues like that and they do man they have a lot of different services to help people it's court dot com KORT dot com over 70 locations don't need a doctor's referral they take most insurances it's court dot com we'll take a break be right back this KSR. back Kentucky Sports Radio here live at KS. Bar and Grill. Drew, I watched the first episode of that Chimp Show.
Starting point is 00:18:51 It's awesome, isn't it? Wow. It is so good. Has anybody seen the Chimp show? Chimp Crazy. It's called Chimp Crazy. It's about a woman who, like, she calls herself the dolly parton of chimpanzees, which I don't even know what that sentence means, honestly.
Starting point is 00:19:06 She's 53. She says, don't I look amazing? She looks a little older than 53 to me. but she basically raises chimps. And I've only watched the first episode, but I'm going to watch the rest. It's a wild story. It's like Tiger King, and it's by the guy who did Tiger King. Have you watched it, Ryan?
Starting point is 00:19:22 No, I want to watch it. Yeah, just because Tiger King was so good and the same people put this together. It's really crazy, to be honest with you. It has my full endorsement. Last week when our nation was watching two presidential candidates debate, I was watching episode four of Chimp Crazy, and I have no regrets because it's beautiful television. Yeah, it is. I do recommend it if you get a chance because it's really strange.
Starting point is 00:19:46 And I have a show for people who, if you want like a new good show that you've probably never watched, I've only watched a few episodes, but I really like on Apple TV, slow horses. It's about this like British spy agency thing. And I can't really do it justice. I watched the first episode and thought it was slow, but then it starts to really go. And I really liked it. Slow horses. Slow horses.
Starting point is 00:20:12 And I think season four is being done now. I'm still on season one, but slow horses. Who's up next year? Phil. Phil. How are you, Phil? Doing fine. How about you, I'm doing fine. How about y'all? Good.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Just got a little insight on the smell of a body. Okay. I'm a volunteer. I'm a volunteer police chaplain, and the calls that I hate are welfare checks. Because when you get there, invariably, some bodies is in a, apartment or something and been there for several days and the stench if you ever smell it once you'll never forget it and it's and it seems and it seems like you know sometimes the policeman don't know what to do with the chaplain standing around you're you don't know what you're going to be doing
Starting point is 00:20:57 you know about talking to families and things and they said what do you want to see the body well long ago i quit i said no thank you you you know just let don't yeah don't put me through that sounds awful i appreciate the call and that may be how Sheila got. I've been told by some people that there were police like around. Like it was kind of an area and they're the ones that came upon it. But nevertheless, I don't think it diminishes the heroic nature of Fred and Sheila. Yeah, I think with all the buzzers, they were going to find the body yesterday. Just Sheila and Fred found it first. Can I, Drew, going back to Pope for a second, you know, I asked him if Jackson Robinson was going to be
Starting point is 00:21:36 the best player and he kind of said, yeah, but don't forget, Kobe Braya, and then he mentioned Ansley Almanor, which is a name that I don't think very many people have ever talked about in that context. Did you find that interesting? Did I'll be honest. I haven't, not saying I've heard bad things about Almanor, but when you're asking who's playing well, his name hasn't come up a lot. But he said he's third for Mark. Yes, that he's been knocking down a lot of shots. I think at that four position, they don't have a lot of depth behind Carr.
Starting point is 00:22:06 So if he can really step up, he might earn a lot of minutes. Sounds like he's gotten hot here recently. I think that was the biggest surprise of all the player breakdown. He said that Anzley Almondorf is like that good. Like he's really been impressive. That was really the third player he mentioned when you ask him about being a leading score. It was the third guy he talked about. On the basketball things, the best thing he said is I don't sweat about guarding SEC point guards.
Starting point is 00:22:32 I mean, that's a bold statement. He said I sweat a lot, but I don't sweat an ounce thinking about guarding. That is a really bold statement for me. Mark Pope to say that like, because there are great SEC point guards this year. And he literally said, I don't sweat about guarding SEC point guards. You know, I think Lamont Butler, Jackson Robinson would probably be our best player. But it looks like Lamont Butler is going to be our leader. He, you know, he's the first guy Mark Pope mentioned.
Starting point is 00:23:01 And that is a strong statement for coach to make. I ain't worried about the, about SEC point guards. That might be the biggest takeaway, honestly, of what he said. overall. Wasn't he like the defensive player of the year in the conference he just came from? All right? Yeah, Mountain West. Two years in a row. Two years in a row. Three time all conference. He has played three years and he has been defensive all conference all three years. So you have to assume he will, and to have that at your point guard spot sounds pretty good. And earlier in the summer when they were practicing, you know, asking around who's
Starting point is 00:23:31 standing out in Robinson's name would always come up. But Butler's two. Those two kind of sounded like they were on a tier above the others early on. But Butler for his defense. Just from the random people I've talked to, they will kind of put the tier of Robinson Butler Carr as like the, okay, if you're going to put three guys in the lineup, those three are in the lineup. And then the rest, it can kind of depend on what happens as to who goes from there. And Carr, five straight practices without missing? Some of this sound a little urban legend. All right. So let me ask you.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Shannon, do you believe that Andrew Carr went five straight practices without missing a shot? I mean, I don't have any reason to doubt Pope. Seems like a pretty straightforward guy. I thought you would be the one that would be least likely to believe that. I mean, he said at no level has he seen anybody knocked down what 100 for 100 free throws at any level in practice. Travis Perry, 100 for 100 free throws. We heard that confirmed the players and that happened earlier in the summer. It's now been told so many times.
Starting point is 00:24:29 I don't think anyone's making it up. Yes. Three straight days of 100. You ever see that video of Tom Izzo? Yes. Tom I mean, so makes something like, I don't know what the number. But he makes for a guy that at the time was like 67 years old, an insane amount of free throws out of, let's say, 100.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Do you know the story behind that? No. When he was in high school, he missed two free throws or a free throw to win a game. Oh, and he does it every day. Does it every day before practice shoots 100 free throws every day before practice. And didn't he make like, I want to say he made like 80s or something, right? The percentage he makes is really, really high. That is pretty amazing.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Who's next? Big Blue Crew. Big Blue Crew got about a minute left. Okay, can you hear me? Yeah, but I got about a minute left. Okay, so yeah, I was told that I was mentioned for on here about a... I didn't mention you. Well, a caller did, apparently, about a comment I made about TikTok dancing videos.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Oh, are you the person, are you one of the people that said they shouldn't be dancing on TikTok? Yes, I'm the one who said that. Okay. But now I will say, you know, first and foremost, I love this team. I love, you know, I'm a long-time listener. I loved hearing Pope Talk. Super excited for the season. I love all the guys on the team.
Starting point is 00:25:48 My point was this. It's a little hard for me to watch these guys, and I've seen multiple of these TikTok videos, and they're meant to be cringy, you know. That's just how they are. But I'd rather than go out and win some games first, and then, you know, the TikToks that I'm fine with that. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Does that, if you don't mind me asking?
Starting point is 00:26:14 Tomorrow's my birthday. I turn 28 years old tomorrow. All right. I'll tell you what. We'll talk about when I get back. Thank you for calling. Happy birthday. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Thank you. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio. What night is Beck at Burb in New York?
Starting point is 00:26:34 That is tonight. Tonight. Beck is at Bourbon and Beyond along with Sting, Max Box 20. It is our whole, it's like a whole 90s vibe, right, tonight at Bourbon and Beyond. One of our folks here that's come to eat has been very generous. Yes. And has given us four general admission passes for Bourbon and Beyond tonight to give away. So I'll tell you what, if you are interested, this is part of when I give stuff away is,
Starting point is 00:27:04 people pay attention, right? If you will text the text machine after 12 o'clock, between 12 and 1, and you would like them, I will make sure that you are able, the first two I get after 12 o'clock that would like them, you can get them, you'll probably have to go now because you'll have to pick them up, and I'll be glad to give them away thanks to one of our listeners being very courteous. They're not digital, so you'd have to come here. You would have to come pick them up. So if you're in Louisville, just keep that in mind.
Starting point is 00:27:39 You would have to get them here in Lexington. But you can put them on and get in your car and go immediately to Bourbon Beyond free for the thing. That's a great deal, isn't it, Goose? Like, isn't that a great deal? Yeah. So the first two people that write me after noon, if you write me now, then you didn't pay attention and you won't get them. When does the first act start? today like what time i think the first one starts at like one but like you know goes to i think steen goes
Starting point is 00:28:10 on at 1030 tonight so you got plenty of time to uh to to to get going um Shannon i think i'm going sunday at least for tyler okay um is there anywhere i can sit where i'm like you can bring your own chair old man have chairs no they don't have chairs you can bring your own if you need to okay i don't see am i allowed to bring a chair into the festival at the festival at feels like that's for barbana beyond yes louder than life knowing oh that's interesting i didn't i didn't even uh i didn't even know that was true all right let's go back to what the guy said before he said i want you to go win something before you dance um he is 28 i thought that sounded like 48 uh but no is my i mean like this is how they live their their their lives now and why
Starting point is 00:29:00 and every other team in the country does it, why should Kentucky not do it? I mean, literally, all these kids, all these kids at these other schools are doing the same thing. Absolutely, they are. Like, this is just what you're in college. This is what you do, right, Ryan? Every school, every team, every player, they're all doing it.
Starting point is 00:29:18 That's just the way of life. It's just how it's like the only life they know is living on social media, and right now the craze is doing some dancing. Yeah, they're college kids. They're going to get on all the apps, and right now dancing is what they do. I would expect him to do that. I actually feel bad for them if they couldn't be regular college kids at any point in their lives.
Starting point is 00:29:36 I remember there's a player, maybe PJ Washington, but he, like, posted that they went to Raising Cains one time, and all the comments were like, shouldn't you be practicing basketball? It's like, let the kids be a little bit. Let them hang out on campus. Let them eat some fried chicken. Let them. If they want to dance, I'm not a dancer, but let them dance.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Yeah, you got to let people, you know, these, again, are human beings. Like you, what I, where I think we mess up is we treat these players as if their only existence is basketball players, right? And that's not a good way for people to even have success if you want them to. Do you think if they're in there in the gym all the time constantly that they're going to actually be good? They're going to wear themselves out. Like you mentally can't do that. So you're going to tell them don't eat, don't go out with your friends, don't whatever. I mean, they're, you know.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Remember the, why are they swimming at Cow's House? Why haven't pool parties? Yeah, I mean, that was so dumb. Why are you swimming? Like, because you're a kid and you swim, that's what you do. You know, because it's nice out. You know, because it's nice. Yeah, exactly. So, and when you say they haven't won anything, a lot of these kids have won stuff at other schools.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I mean, Lamont Butler went to the national championship game. So they have won stuff. And they'll, I think, win here. But I will tell you what, if you want to make this a fun place to get recruits to come, do not say to them, do not dance. I mean, what is this? the foot, you know, footloose school, you can't dance, you can't sing, you can't have fun, you must play basketball. That's not exactly going to be a great recruiting tool, I don't think.
Starting point is 00:31:07 No, not a very good pitch. I mean, when we go out with Dane, we don't talk about football. I mean, believe it or not, they have another life outside of the sport they're playing. Do you and Dane ever dance? Oh, we did do a little gritty one time. Yeah. Good. I'm sure that was great.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Who's up next? Let's go to Rob. Rob, go ahead, Rob. Can you hear me? Yes. Okay. Every year, usually the last full week of September, they always have big blue week. Have you heard anything about that?
Starting point is 00:31:39 What do you mean big blue week? I'm not sure what you're talking about. Big blue tent week where we used to camp out for tent? Oh, you're talking about camp out for Big Blue Madness. I do not think they are doing that, no. Oh, really? That I have heard. I mean, have you heard any reason that you think they're doing?
Starting point is 00:31:56 a live construction site outside Memorial. Yeah, I've not heard that, to be honest with you. I mean, they're still doing Big Blue Madness and all of that, but I don't, I've not heard that there's going to be a camp out. Normally you'd be doing it about now. Yeah, I mean, I honestly, I think one day that may come back, but if you were to go down there right now, there's no way that they could do it right now.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I mean, it's a lot, it is literally a live construction site. So I don't think you could do that. Dangerous liabilities. There's not even room for to have it right now. Yeah, and I don't know. If they ever end up starting it again, I don't think it's ever going to be able to be down there. There's so much stuff now there that the place where people used to sleep, it doesn't even exist. It's all the buildings have been expanded, new dorms.
Starting point is 00:32:39 I mean, there's just stuff everywhere now. I mean, back when they used to do it regularly, the student center wasn't even there. You can go across the street. There's that whole empty field where I think the band used to practice. Yeah. Now that's all student center. Yeah. So appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Who's next, Shannon? Let's go to Drew. Drew, go ahead, Drew. Hey, guys. So you all know that I'm from Corbyn. My boys play football at Corbyn. And I see the TikTok thing kind of like what went on earlier this year. The boys wanted some different music, right?
Starting point is 00:33:07 And so, you know, of course, we got a lot of tradition and everything. So some of our old people complained about it. They're like, oh, we don't want to hear that rap music. But here was the thing. It's not for us. I'm almost 44. Yeah, it's not for us. It's just like TikTok.
Starting point is 00:33:21 It kind of annoys me, but it's not for me. So if they're having a good time and it's what they need to do to get loose and to have a good time, then, you know, I'll listen to it and I'll watch it, you know, because it's not for me. That's all that's a great. That's, to me, and I appreciate the call, a lot of the stuff people complain about in life, just ask, is it for you, right? So TikTok's not for. I mean, the music is always one.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Like people go, why don't we play 70s rock? Because that's not what they like. Like, it's not for us. It is for them. You know, that's life. I'll hear people go, you know what? Taylor Swift annoys me. Well, she's not for you.
Starting point is 00:34:02 It's right. It's not. Everything in life doesn't have to be catered to what you like, right? It's about what, you know, what other people like. And for when it comes to these players, it's not for us, right? I'd rather be doing TikTok dances and some other things that could be getting into, you know. 859-280-2287. the new Massey ratings drew.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Oh, here we go. Where we predict every high school game on KSR. They're out, and I'm sure the anger will come. Here are the biggest five games of the weekend. Woodford County, Pulaski County. The Massey ratings pick. Woodford County, 35, 21. Two touchdown spread.
Starting point is 00:34:46 It's a two touchdown spread, according to the Massey ratings. Number 22 versus number 23. Do you agree or disagree with the Massey rating? Where is the game? because it's hard to win down at Pulaski County. I believe it's at home. If I'm trusting the person that made our graphics, then it's at home. I'm going to go to Woodford then if it's at Woodford County.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Mail and Trinity. No, Pulaski is home. So, yeah, they're going to carry on. Woodford by 14 at Pulaski. Oh, that's be tough. Dennis Johnson, though, he's the head coach over there, and their family's on a heater right now. Trinity Mail, 3517 Trinity.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Trinity's really, really good. They just beat a team from Indiana last weekend, a real good team. Males is like two years away. They got a bunch of sophomores. Douglas and Corbett. That's a win. This has Douglas winning. 34-22.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Can the Broncos score 34 points, right? That's the big question. The offense has been a little lagging a little bit. Corbin's got that Kate Elam, a really good quarterback. Yeah, I think that's accurate score. Cooper Great Crossing. Cooper 40 to 14. They got an awesome quarterback.
Starting point is 00:35:43 They're going to put that in a great crossing locker room, I think. I think Massey's going to be in the crosshairs on the Cooper Great Crossing 40 to 14. Is that a little high? Well, Cooper's got a great quarterback. Cooper's got like a really, really good quarterback. Yeah. Okay. And then finally, South Warren Manual, South Warren 3228 over Manuel.
Starting point is 00:36:06 I saw Manuel beat Douglas. They're a little better, I think, than people thought. So where is it was to say where that game is at? Manual. I would probably pick Manuel. So you're going. Anti-Massie rating. You're fading the Massey ratings.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Yes. Even though the Massey ratings have done. nothing to you, by the way. But how accurate are they? Well, it's a work in progress. Pulaski County. I don't know if they're going to do some. I don't know if it's going to end up in the locker room.
Starting point is 00:36:33 That's all right. Hey, if you're looking for a great home right out down there in the Corbin area, how about the Bluegrass Home Center? It's Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. Tucky Sports Radio here, final segment. Tonight, the Patriots and the Jets play here at KS.Barr. Remember, if you watch the game here tonight, you can scan on the app.
Starting point is 00:37:15 You get 100% profit boost on any draft king's bet for the game tonight. So you put that out there, and you get 100% percent. percent profit boost during the game. A little boosty boost. All right, so let's pick it from Draft Kings. promo code is KSR. You get bet $5, get $200. The Patriots, the Jets are a six-point favorite at home against the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Who you got? I thought the Patriots are going to be really bad this year, and then they went in Cincinnati and beat the Bengals. But I'm still going to pick the Jets. I think Jets and Jets cover. I'm going to say Patriots cover but lose. So I say the Jets win, but they cover the six. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:37:49 I watched every second of the Jets last. Sunday beating my Titans. I wasn't that impressed. I think the Patriots cover time with you. Patriots lose but cover the six. Patriots lose but cover. Two quick NFL stories. First of all, Dan Campbell, the coach of the Lions,
Starting point is 00:38:05 said he is selling his house because everyone in Detroit has figured out where he lives and it's becoming a little bit of a nuisance people coming by his house. What do you think of that? I want to say first, I really like him. I mean, I love his personality and the way he handles his team and when he's in interviews using things. But man, why did you know, you're harassing something? Is he being harassed at his house or something
Starting point is 00:38:27 or people just driving by? It is a traffic issue? He says he lives out in the suburbs. He says it's secluded, but when they win and lose, people will show up at his house and he wants to try to get some place that's not accessible. Well, you know, that's what Cal bought the house on the main street.
Starting point is 00:38:43 He couldn't have bought a more public house. But he said that's why he did it. He didn't want, you can't, he said there's no place to stop in front of my house. There's nobody stopping around and That's an interesting thought. No one is going to stop. You know, it's inevitable that people in towns like Lexington are going to know where people live. I can't imagine ever bothering someone at their house.
Starting point is 00:39:04 No. And he said there were pranks and harassment after losses. If he really felt threatened to that bad, I don't blame him at all for moving. He used to go to Patino's house and dig up pieces of his grass. I thought that was a little weird. Of course that's weird. It's not a little weird. it's 100% weird.
Starting point is 00:39:22 The for sale signs has been a move for a long time, putting those out. Yeah. Remember Cal had that woman kind of breaking in? Remember she got arrested? Yeah, got arrested for breaking in at one point. That's right. Will Levis says he had to change his phone number because it got out and people were harassing him. What do you think of that?
Starting point is 00:39:43 A lot of people thought I was a target. Maybe I've been one of the people doing it to him. He's getting really bad right now. A lot of it's deserved. He had two very costly turnovers that could be 2-0. But it seems like everyone piles on Will Levis when Bryce Young is worse. Anthony Richardson might be worse. I think Levis is getting a little too extreme, even though he's made some bad mistakes.
Starting point is 00:40:04 I think some people go at Levis because they're Tennessee fans. They're just waiting for the moment. Who have been waiting for the moment for them to screw up because they didn't like that he went to Kentucky. And so I think that's part of it. The other thing is, Will's personality. is the kind that people kind of sometimes want to bring him down a notch, right? Like, I mean, I think that's a natural thing that they're, like, you know, a handsome, confident guy who will tell you how good he is.
Starting point is 00:40:38 When they mess up, sometimes people want to then, Ryan, rub it in their face when they do. I think you hit on both reasons why this has happened. And I think he does come across as a little cocky, little arrogant at times. I mean, listen, I love the kid, but yes, of course you guys. And I think the Tennessee fans, I think that absolutely, Tennessee volunteer fans, I think it absolutely is playing into it. I just can't imagine people calling or texting a phone number that they have no idea who the person is. But out of just all day long, decide to just text somebody.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Huh. Yeah. You can't believe that? You can't believe somebody doing that? No. I want to remind you that you were. okay with that. You just didn't. I
Starting point is 00:41:22 told you before you did it. I said to you you know you'll get a lot of text. And we've only given it out that one time. I didn't think it would still be going on today. Like even today, I'm getting text messages in the show. Has Matt already given away the tickets?
Starting point is 00:41:40 Well, but that's, I mean, I feel like you like it. People know you and people want to be a part of your life. Plus your phone number, you're a realtor. That helps. There's no doubt that it helps. get some clients for putting it out there like that. Did you ever think about having a different phone for that than your regular phone and having a business phone?
Starting point is 00:41:58 Yeah, I haven't thought much about that yet. We need him to learn the one he has before he gets two. Before I grab another one. Well, I, you know, I feel bad for Will. I'm amazed to be quite frank with you, that doesn't happen more often. Number gets leaked out. Numbers get leaked out. I'm amazed when you consider how many famous people
Starting point is 00:42:19 like, you know, they give somebody their phone number. I'm amazed it doesn't leak out more than it does. Like when Will said that, I would think that would have happened to people drew all the time. Yeah, and it probably does. It just shows how bad he's getting it that he's even having to change his number and it's really weighing on him. I just hope it's not, well, I think it is, the Valls slash Titans fans that should be
Starting point is 00:42:42 supporting him and picking up right now. I think they've just been waiting for this moment to say what a bad pick it was. I do too. One person writes, Matt, I'm going to the Ohio. game on Saturday, do you think the crowd is going to be good? I think it's going to be better than I thought it was going to be a week and a half ago. It's 1245. It's our last home game.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Is the weather supposed to be good Saturday? I was pulling that up right now. I think if the weather is supposed to be good, then you can make an argument. It's like, I mean, we only have one other home game in the next month, right? So we have one Saturday. Then it's at Ole Miss. then we're off, then Vandy at home, and then we're on the road to Florida. So, like, you know, honestly, if you want to see the football team play,
Starting point is 00:43:26 like this is going to be one of your last chances when you know it'll be warm, et cetera, what's the weather supposed to be? High of 66, a little cloudy, low of 52. That's a little cooler, 66. That's good, though. We're ready to throw on our hoodies and our layers. Show off our new UK football fall gear. So, I mean, I do think that it'll be better than I thought.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Will it be full? No, it will not be full. But we'll be a good crowd. I think it will. 12.45 instead of noon is better, to be honest with you. 45 minutes can go a long way if you're a big tellgator. It's better. I think just to showing how they did against Georgia is going to bring some people to the game
Starting point is 00:44:04 that I thought maybe would not go to the game after the South Carolina game. I'm more interested in the game than I was because I need to see them score, to use a shanin-the-dude phrase, a tutty. I need to see them actually get into the end zone because we have it in a couple of weeks and against southern miss the offense looked really good i know southern miss is bad but ohio's not great they're better than southern miss and i need to see them score some touchdowns yeah the the joke somebody sent me uk is going to start offering parking passes in the end zone because kentucky never gets there i thought that was a little it's a bad tell that person to stop
Starting point is 00:44:39 yeah who told you that i got somebody in an anonymous text person should be blocked uh all right so tomorrow we are at bywater farms in georgetown should be a beautiful day. I love that show. Come join us. They always have food and drinks and it's like that's real. They have apple cider donuts. That's one of the best for a fan experience shows we do all day. And then Saturday for the game, we are opening the bar at nine and serving breakfast food, I think. Okay. It's good breakfast, too. This is, this might be the only time that we do that all year. We're opening it at nine and serving breakfast food before the game. And then, of course, the shuttles and all that. stuff will be running as well. UK federal credit unions, the official credit union
Starting point is 00:45:21 the University of Kentucky, serving UK since 1937, and supporting the community from student to graduate, employee, and beyond. It's one of the best in-state credit unions you can go now. It's banking only better at UK Federal Credit Union. Thank you folks for listening. Come out and watch the game tonight. We will see tomorrow at Buywater Farms. This is KS.R.
