It is an absolutely beautiful day here at Bywater Farms,
where you can come for Autumn Fest all autumn long,
hayrod, spooky farmhouse, lost pumpkin mine, pumpkin cannon.
What's a jumping pillow, by the way?
What does that mean?
It's like a bouncy ball thing, the kid jump on?
It's called a bounce house, I think, a jumpy pillow?
What's a jump?
Is that like the blob where you jump on it and shoot somebody in the air?
Hey, Steve, what's a jumpy pillow?
A pillow that jumps, okay?
I don't know that that helps.
How does it jump?
It's all you about.
So it's like a big pillow.
I got you.
So kids can bounce on it.
We can't do it.
All right.
So jumping pillow that's here along with pumpkins and more that is over here at Bywater
Forarms.

One person writes, Matt, I don't think the refs screw us every game, but I do think John
Caliperi yelled at the refs so much that we got worse calls because they were tired of
being screamed at. We talked about that the other day. Do you think that's true? Yeah, I definitely
think it's true. Might even exist with stoops a little bit. It's a little different dynamic with
basketball where you can be in their ear to the whole game. But I think that was pretty clear
that Cal had some officials that were a little tired of listen to him. I think there's a lot of
truth to that. You've got to keep in mind, these are human beings you're yelling at. And I think
it's only natural to go, well, I'm going to show him on this next call. Yeah. Did you see,
by the way, Cal Perry, I have a feeling this is going to happen all year where Cal's
to do things that we were like, why didn't he do that here? And go, and he, so his two,
did you see who Arkansas's two exhibition games are against? Yeah. Arkansas is playing
exhibition games. Remember, we used to play like basically his friend's schools and then a school
from Kentucky. At Arkansas, he's playing a charity exhibition game against Kansas and one against
TCU. So instead of playing like bad teams, they're playing Kansas in front of
20,000 people in an exhibition game.
Like, I think that's a good idea, but why didn't you do that here?
You know?
I was pretty surprised by that.
That doesn't seem like something he would normally do.
Even they're in that Thanksgiving Day classic.
I thought he complained when we played within four days of Thanksgiving,
and now he's in that marquee game on a holiday that'll have a lot of attention around it.
It's like we talked about it was good for him and for Kentucky.
He got to go hit reset on a bunch of things, and so did you go.
No, I mean, the analogy I used.
rhyme, which is you break up with your wife of a long time. Both sides decide, you know what?
I can't go out and meet the other sex looking like I do. I got to go get in shape.
I got to go eat right. I got to like get hair plugs. Like I got to go do the whole thing.
I think that's what Cal did. Like he's kind and I, and you know, it is what it is.
We have a younger new spouse and Mark Pope, but he decided to go kind of get in shape.
Now we'll see if he modernizes his way of play.
We had a conversation on this show one time where some of these schools were playing
these secret scrimmage games against other big schools.
But now it doesn't have to be secret.
Now you can play.
So, I mean, look, Arkansas is going to play Kansas.
I don't know if the game is allowed to be on television.
But either way, everyone in college basketball is going to pay attention to that game,
Shannon, because it'll be the very first one.
It'll be John Caliperi's first time wearing Arkansas gear.
I mean, it's very smart.
I'm not, I just don't understand why that kind of cool thing.
why didn't we do that when he was here?
Why didn't we play Kansas in an exhibition game?
Yeah, you know, 20,000 people, if they parlay that into some sort of NIL situation,
it's going to be just even better for the program.
So, you know, it's forward thinking and doing that, but you're right.
He was here, and we always played, like, Morehouse and all these random teams that
we would have been in that situation playing Kansas in an exhibition game.
Yeah, it is what it is.
Now, who does you want to play?
Whoever, I don't care.
I mean, honestly, I'd be fine playing Northwest.
West, I mean, respectfully, these exhibition games are fine, but you learn nothing.
I'd much prefer to play like a real game.
It doesn't count, so it'll be, you know, I'd be fine with whoever.
You have nothing else is just a good measuring stick to get an idea of how your team is the first couple of times you see them.
I mean, with all due respect, your Transi, which are you, pioneers.
We led at the end of the end of the first.
It's not like we had the great idea of what Kentucky's identity was.
Let's remember with 10 minutes to go in the first half, Tranzy led the.
national champion team with Anthony Davis.
Transy was ahead.
I have a picture of the scoreboard from when that happened.
All right, I want to tell a story, Shannon, that I think you will predict.
Have you seen the controversy in Oklahoma at the state fair?
I don't think I have.
Oklahoma State Fair every year has the stinkiest car contest.
I have seen this.
They go and you can bring your car and whoever's car smells the worst, they win a new car.
So it's a big prize, right?
It's called the stinky sedan.
And, you know, the rule is that it has to be like you can't, it has to be something natural in the car.
And they also say you have to have driven in it, which means that you have to have, you come to the contest two weeks in advance, let them get a certain whiff.
And then you come back two weeks after that.
You have to prove you actually drive around in this call.
Okay.
All right.
Now, a man enters the contest.
He wins the contest with his stinky sedan.
And when it's over, the guy in second place comes up to the owners and says,
I saw him go to the porta potty and fill up his car before it's over.
Oh, yuck.
Now, I know that's gross, but we have to talk about the controversy.
That wasn't it?
Well, he says, I didn't do that.
You have no proof.
And he goes, well, I didn't take a picture, but I saw it.
And now the Oklahoma Fair Board is going to have to decide.
It's his word against his about, because he says he's the only person that saw it.
Do you believe the guy that he took from the porta potty or not?
I believe that the guy did take from the porta potty,
but I think even if he did, it's perfectly legal because you said it has to be natural,
and that is 100% natural.
That is nature right there, okay?
And it is, and it is stinking.
That's an interesting idea.
It is natural.
So to use their own words against them.
It has to be natural.
I think that's totally fair.
I think it's got to be your brand, though.
He outsourced that.
I keep thinking about the judges here.
At one point, do you want a sample is what you want?
At one point do you get in the car and take a whiff, and it's your 6-1-row, and you go,
why am I doing this?
Yeah, that is a good question.
Why am I the judge of this?
How do you get people to judge it?
Like, I feel like, first of all, the reason I brought it up in part is,
if the Kentucky State Fair wants to do this,
I've never seen a contest more suited for Ryan Lemon as a judge.
Like, I feel like you would be the absolute perfect stinky sedan,
stinky sedan judge.
It feels like right in your wheelhouse.
It's so gross, man.
I'm telling you, if somebody was willing to do that,
take stuff out of a porta potty, put in your car,
they deserve to win.
If somebody's that...
Well, if you get a...
new car? If you're that desperate to win it? If you have a crappy car, literally, and you decide,
and you, like, you can get a new car from it, it would be part of it. But if you're the runner up,
then you just have the worst smelling car. I have a better idea for a contest. Let's get a stinky
sedan, put it out in the middle of the woods, and let Sheila go find it with her nose.
Amen. She would be able to sniff it out. She would. Yes, she would. I actually like that contest.
Who's up next to you? Mike. Mike, go ahead and Mike. Mike. Mike. Mike.
This happens every year too.
The trash guy, this happens every year at this remote.
The trash guy comes right now.
Friday morning.
Friday morning.
That happens every year.
Go ahead, Mike.
The boss with the kids will be next.
Hey guys, this is Mike from Madisonville.
How are y'all?
Doing good.
It's been a long time since I've been able to call in live.
It's weird hearing music because I'm usually stuck listening to the podcast.
So I just had a question.
I wanted to see if you had any scoop or scuttle butt with all.
the blue white game ticket talk, is there anything about Big Blue Madness ticket talk?
I have not heard one thing about how they're doing Big Blue Madness.
I have absolutely no idea.
And I have to tell you, I haven't heard anything about Big Blue Madness, period.
Now, I'm sure you can't, you know, Mark Pope said yesterday that, you know, they did have
big plans for it, and I'm sure that's true.
But I have to tell you, I haven't heard one thing about distribution where it is.
I don't, and you know, it's coming.
Like, it's in three weeks.
So, I mean, it's not long from now, but I have not heard a thing about it.
All right, so I was looking at making a weekend out of it and, you know,
trying to double up and go to the bandy game the next day, but.
Well, they're going to have it.
I know they're going to, I know they're going to have it.
And I'm fairly certain it's free.
I think it is.
But as far as the details, I honestly have no idea what they're doing.
All right.
Appreciate you guys.
Appreciate to call.
559-280-2-807. This is really good. The garbage truck is literally going to drive right here.
That's right. And now he's trying to stop it. This scenario happens every year.
He does. You got anything you want to throw away? Every single year, we have this moment where the garbage truck drives by and there's confusion.
And I'm glad we're having this again. Who's up next? Jimmy Dykes get ready to come on. I think it'll be great.
Nikki, go ahead. Yes, thanks for taking my call. I've got a question for you guys.
I'll try to hear you over the go. I can barely hear you because the gar.
garbage truck, so speak up.
Okay. In recent years
in college basketball,
we've seen
unexpected teams have
success after adding
a lot of new players.
Yes. Given what we've been through the past
couple years, suppose
we make the final four
this year, where we can rank our team
as one of the all-time
favorites in our history.
Well, I got to see how they play,
but I will say to you, I think
I think Drew this fan base is going to rally around this basketball team early as much as any.
Now, to keep people interested, they're going to have to win games.
But I think, like, we've been talking about this vis-a-vis the bar,
because one of the things that's been very difficult for us at the bar in the last few years
is the November, December, and even January games, because our team wasn't doing well,
people just weren't that interested.
They really didn't start getting interested until, like, February.
I don't think that's going to happen this year.
I think fans are very excited, and if they're winning, I agree.
I think people will, like, really grab onto the team.
Yeah, I mean, it's going to last all year long, especially if it's going well.
But I think his question was if they make it to the final four, how will they kind of, you know, stack up against the greats?
I think if Pope has success, there's going to be like a Pope bonus on whatever they do.
I agree with that.
Because it is going to be so much more fun to win with him than anyone else they could have hired.
I know we wanted Hurley and Scott Drew first and people had other names, but nothing.
of those guys, if they get to the top, it'll be as fun to ride with them as it will
Pope being a former player, former captain, and how much he appreciates being at UK.
So if they get to the Final Four, to answer his question, it will be one of the all-time
favorites.
That's a great point.
Pope, fans want Pope to do well so much that they will kind of, if he does well, there'll be
an excitement that probably you've got to go back to the early Cal years to talk about how it
fields. Yeah, we are so overdue as a fan base to be excited about our basketball program. We're
starving for it. And they're so excited right now about Pope, if they go on this run, this whole
state will explode. It'll be like something we haven't seen in a long time. I saw a video, by the way,
on TikTok from 2012 when we won the national championship, and it was ABC Nightly News. The night
after the night national championship game, or ABC, excuse me, Good Morning America, whatever the show is,
was live from Lexington reporting on all the damage that had taken place.
You know, you and I were in New Orleans, so I didn't really remember that.
But I didn't realize, Ryan, how much happened.
Like, they were talking about people's, like, fires and people's houses getting destroyed.
Like, I didn't remember any of that.
Yeah, of course, you know, we had the burning of the couches on State Street.
But they remember they turned a car over.
I remember that.
State Street.
But they showed this row of houses that.
had all been vandalized and they talked about, like, I had no, Shannon, I mean, I was in New Orleans,
so I wasn't here and I just had like no memory of that.
Help me understand that mentality.
We just won the title.
Let's go burn the city down.
Like what?
Well, you're happy, I guess.
Do you burn things when you get happy?
But like George Stephanophilus and Katie Couric were the anchors.
And the two of them were sitting there talking about how wild Lexington, Kentucky had gotten
the night before.
And I had absolutely no memory of that whatsoever.
So who's up next?
Ricky.
Ricky, go ahead real quick.
Hey, guys, first time caller.
Who are?
I was listening to it earlier about all-time phonehead calls.
Yes.
Where we have gotten robbed.
The 92 Duke, Kentucky game, Christian Lakemour, Stump.
Yeah, they mentioned that one in the first hour.
Richie's still upset about it.
By the way, Jack Givens, appreciate the call, wrote me and said the 75 game was the worst game.
ever been a part of officiator.
Yeah, people talk about that.
There was just no way the officials were going to let John Wooden
walk out of there with the loss.
So all the calls.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano and our podcast point game is about
defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin
Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get to fly.
He running up the court licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah.
You figure it out real quick.

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Here live at Bywater Farms,
great crowd of Kentucky fans.
I'm going to bring Jimmy Dykes on,
but really quick.
That young man, they just brought up.
He was here a year ago and got a diagnosis while he was here about a cancer diagnosis,
and it's been one year, and he's on remission, and he wanted to come out here because he's in remit.
So that's very, very cool.
And he's got to go to an appointment right now.
So Jimmy Dykes is on from ESPN.
Jimmy, thank you very much.
Listen, I don't know that there's ever been a UK basketball team that the fans know less about going into the
the year than this one. So you've now seen them practice. What should we expect? Yeah, I was in the
same boat yesterday, Matt. I walked in and got a roster in front of me and started figuring out
who is who and then start looking at the notes that I had made before I got to practice.
But I think you had Coach on earlier, breaking down the individual players. I know he did a
great job of that. My overall impression was they are going to be very aggressive.
He's going to play fast.
He has shooters at every position on the floor.
A very positive, encouraging, thoughtful practice is what I saw from him.
He does a great job of asking his guys questions, forcing them to speak up, forcing them to take leadership.
I loved his staff, how much they interacted in practice.
They were five, six guys on the floor coaching all the time, every possession.
It's a new system, a new style.
It's a new day for Kentucky basketball.
And I'm sure you guys are aware.
The first thing I noticed when I walked into the practice facility,
all those individual banners are down.
The only thing left on the wall is a national championship.
Oh, is that right?
That's the standard.
That's the standard.
That's interesting.
It's about hanging those banners.
So, yeah, it's a new day for Kentucky, right?
That's a really interesting thing.
so they took away all the individual pictures and did the team.
Well, that's a very Mark Pope thing.
Listen, I think I love his style.
I love his energy.
My only question about the team this year really is the talent.
So tell me about the talent.
Yeah, I think they're, you know, Matt, he did a great job of identifying guys that fit how he plays.
Okay?
Yes.
analytics and what the guy did in the previous school might not be eye popping and catch your attention like maybe some other Kentucky teams have in the past but they fit how this guy plays
I know it's just a practice yesterday they only went up and down for maybe 10 or 12 minutes total 5-1-5
I'm telling you they were making shot after shot after shot and it was a you know Kentucky led the nation in three-point percentage last year they were very
good three-point shooting team, but they didn't shoot the volume that this system is going to
demand and allow. So I think there's not a non-shooter on the floor from what I can see.
I want to see more driving of the ball because you guys know basketball very well in that state.
If you only have a team full of shooters, you can get covered up. You've got to have guys who can
drive it to force of defense to rotate. Now those shooters get open. So I want to see more of that
from Otega Owe and Lamont Butler
of probably the two primary guys
getting downhill, but they're capable.
And it's a system that,
I guess some big picture thoughts.
In my notebook I'm looking at right now,
can they score?
Check, yes.
Can they get stopped?
Question mark, I don't know.
That's where they are right now in my eyes.
Yeah.
Well, all right, so if we make it a scale,
Cala Perry used to say his view was, give me the most talent, and I'll overwhelm and beat most teams.
That's kind of the simple version of how he sort of would build a roster.
If you were to sort of summarize what you think Mark Pope's building of a roster is, what do you think it is?
It's a high, high premium on guys that want to play for Kentucky.
and they understand what that program's about the best they can for 18, 19, 21, 22-year-old kid.
Now, does Trent Noah understand that?
Absolutely.
Does Travis Perry understand that absolutely?
But I think he brought in guys and was very clear about the Kentucky standard under him
and what they're supposed to look like and play like.
Do they have one dozen talent?
No.
Do they have a bunch of a collection of older guys,
thousand point scores, guys that have won at the high level, guys are going to buy in and
collectively become a real problem to play against in the SEC. I think so right away. From year,
from year one, they're going to be a major factor under Mark Pope. So I know you guys know this.
I'm a big Calgary fan. Yes. But, but, but, Kentucky's, they've just won one NCAA tournament
game in the past four years. So Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark,
knows where the bar is set.
And it's from year one.
I think Mark knows I'm going to win right now, and I'm expected to win right now,
and I think you have a roster to do it.
All right.
So this may be as deep in SEC, certainly at the top as I can remember in terms of how
many really good teams will be there.
Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee.
You can tell me if there's one or two more you'd put in that group.
Is Kentucky in that group?
Matt, they are.
This league starts off, I think, projecting 10 NCAA tournament teams.
It could climb to 11.
It could drop to 9, but I think you're somewhere in that 9, 10, 11.
I think Alabama, from my studies that I've done,
and I study the world of college basketball, not just the SEC,
I think there's a strong case for Alabama to be the preseason number one team.
Okay.
And right there in that top 25, the SEC's going to probably start with six or 17,
which is going to be the most out of any conference out there.
Kentucky's going to be right there borderline in that top 25.
But this league is deeper than it's ever been, and it has potential of two or three or four serious final four threats.
But my eyes go to Alabama right now getting a nod.
I've seen Tennessee practice.
I think they're right there behind them.
I've seen Arkansas practice.
Cal has a loaded up team.
Very, very similar what his teams look like at Kentucky.
They just say Arkansas now in the Jersey instead of Kentucky.
30 seconds really quick.
You've been here.
You know what it's like here.
Do you think in five years we'll look back and say Mark Pope was the right higher at the time?
No doubt.
Mark let me speak to his team yesterday for just a few minutes afterwards.
And I told them I've coached here.
I've been all across the country in college basketball.
There's no place.
like Kentucky.
And Mark Pope knows that.
His teacher's how smart he is.
All the things that I see,
his staff included Matt,
I think in five years you're going to say,
wow, Mitch Barnhart knew exactly what he was doing
when he drove that guy in on a bus and Rupp Arena to introduce him.
Love it. Thank you very much.
Jimmy Dyke, CSPN, great job.
Appreciate it. We'll take a break.
Be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Autumn Fest.
Next few weeks, bring your family, your friends, people on the street, pumpkin cannon, jumping
pillows, hay rides, spooky farmhouse, kids' ziplines.
It's a great thing for the whole family, and they'll be open for the next few weeks,
and it is a hot day.
It's going to be a hot day tomorrow.
Remember, the bar opens at 9 a.m.
Our radio show starts at 8.30 for the game.
Shuttles will start going at 10.
It's parents weekend.
Be open tonight as well.
Book of Mormon plays here in Lexington for the weekend.
If you listen to Fade this, Drew and I've been singing the songs.
I'll be there.
I'll be stuck in my head for a couple months.
Yes, I will be there.
I might try to sneak in.
I'm not going to lie.
I do enjoy that a lot.
859-28027.
One person writes, Matt, you asked those guys what their irrational confidence was like Billy,
but you didn't answer yourself.
What is yours?
I probably think I'm a better dancer than I am.
Like, I'm an okay dancer, but I actually think I'm good.
And so that's probably the one like with Billy where I have irrational confidence.
But you are a pretty good dancer.
Yeah, but I'm not as good as I think I am.
Like, I'm not to the point where, like, I should be doing it with strangers.
How about a singer?
You like to sing.
Yeah, I know I'm not very good at that.
I like to do it.
But, you know, I've been around.
My parents really can sing, so I know what that sounds like.
We all remember that random Thursday you thought you were an Olympic sprinter and try to challenge everyone in your vicinity to a race.
You did have Billy confidence that day. That's true. Ambie and Matt has Billy confidence.
About everything. By the way, I went back and listened to that show a couple weeks ago.
Why didn't y'all tell me I sounded ridiculous during that? It was fun.
Drew and I had during a commercial break were like, he's on one today. What's wrong with him today?
What was? I mean, for people who don't remember what happened, I had just,
gotten a new subscription to Ambien and it accidentally put that pill box or that pill bottle
where my, uh, where my blood pressure pill is, right? And so I in the morning take a blood pressure
and I accidentally took the Ambien pill. And if, and for people who I have ammion, if you don't
fall asleep, then you kind of hit a different thing. And of course I was, I was like, man,
I'm really tired. But we got to do this show. And then,
I ended up challenging everyone at the restaurant to a race.
Yep, that was a good moment.
I knew something was up right away because normally every day you will say at least something
to me.
That day you didn't say a word before we started the show.
Not one people.
It was probably because he was staying awake.
I was trying to get ready to race.
I was like, something's up with him today.
I don't remember what day it is.
I thought you were mad at me.
You need to play it on a best of one day because it is objectively kind of ridiculous.
Let me let's quickly talk about what Jimmy Dyke said there a second ago.
So for people who don't know what the practice gym looked like under Cal,
so they got that new practice facility,
and Cal had it to where,
I think the national championship banners were up there.
But there were also basically every player he had that was in the NBA,
a picture of them was in the practice facility like a big poster.
So sometimes it would be like if a guy got out of the NBA,
they take him down.
It was awkward.
And it would be awkward, and then they would put somebody new up.
But there was, and when players came, I think Cal's philosophy was,
look at all these dudes you watch in the NBA,
and they were all on this floor.
That was his philosophy.
I know there were players who, while they understood it,
were like, well, if you don't play in the NBA, you don't make it.
Right.
Mark Pope has now, according to Jimmy,
taking all of those down, and the only thing up are the national championship banners,
and somebody texted me and said he actually made them bigger.
So that now what is there is we win titles.
I don't think either one of those, Shannon, is wrong.
But it is a completely different philosophy and probably more in tune with what most UK fans would want it to be.
Focus on team.
I wonder if also some of that is the fact that those guys were Calipari players,
his coaches. I don't think so. I don't think he, I don't think Pope would be like.
What I will say, it did frustrate me sometimes that Cal acted like if they didn't play for him
and were in the NBA, like, like Jody Meeks or Tashon Prince or guys like, Nasi Mohamed Post.
Yeah, like he wouldn't, he didn't, when he first got here, we had guys in the NBA that had
played for other people and they weren't up sometimes. But Pope gets it. Like we don't care how many guys
are playing in the NBA. We just count championships.
a fan base and he gets that.
What do you think? That was my biggest takeaway
of what Jimmy said that he took that down
because, you know, the old
regime said it was a player's first
program. Well, now Popas come in.
It's a team first program. You mentioned about
being in his office. None of the
accolades and stuff are up on the walls like used to be
there. It's all about winning, getting
the championship banners. That's what you hang up
in those. Yeah, I mean, again, to use
Cal's Office as an example. If you
went into Cal's Office, and again, I'm not
criticizing this, I get
his office was kind of a shrine to all of his wins at various places, right?
So it was his wins at UMass, his wins at Memphis, his wins at Kentucky.
There were player posters, but it was like there was one of Marcus Camby,
and there was one of Derek Rose, and then there was one of John Wall,
DeMarcus cousins, and Patrick Patterson, Anthony Davis.
Now you go in there, it's all just pictures of UK,
and then there's one on his desk, him and his family, Mark Pope.
It is just a different thing.
Yeah, and I won't just change my opinion, be critical of the way Cal was doing it,
because I thought it was cool to walk in that place, and not just the practice facility where they had the cards.
Kind of looked to my childhood bedroom, just NBA posters everywhere.
But even that mural where you're like, wow, we have 29 people in the NBA.
And it was an impressive mirror.
Yeah, so I'm not as considered trash.
It was working for what Cal was doing.
I'm sure it will be eventually.
But I know Pope went in pretty quickly and got the posters off the wall to get it to, hey, this is Kentucky.
Love those guys.
He's even reached out some of them personally.
his relationships with them is just saying
we're not going to make that part of this facility.
I'm not, I agree with you.
I'm not saying Cal's philosophy was wrong.
His belief was, sell the players, you get more players.
And I don't think that's wrong.
But it is interesting.
It will be a completely different sales philosophy
with this one, and we'll see what happens on the floor.
Who's up next?
Joseph.
Joseph, go ahead, Joseph.
Hey, Matt, you know, the way we played at Berkey Georgia shows,
where we could be anybody from work if we have played a four.
Talking to the phone, Joseph.
Talk in the phone.
I can't hear you.
It's underwater.
There you go.
All right, so let's play a lesson again.
Hang on, Joseph.
No speakerphone, no Bluetooth.
Joseph, you've called a lot.
You know that.
Now, go ahead.
The way we played versus Georgia chose we can.
Okay, you went back underwater.
All right.
What did we played against Georgia?
Go ahead.
I think they deserve to win.
we can never get the break.
We still have an opportunity.
You still think we can go eight and four?
Can we go eight and four?
No, probably not.
I think we can go seven and five.
I mean, I think we definitely, and, you know,
you'd have to beat Old Miss, Texas or Tennessee to go eight and four.
I don't necessarily, I think we got a shot against Old Miss,
but I don't necessarily think we will.
So I'll say I'd be very surprised, Drew, if they went eight and four.
Yeah, I think you'd have to beat Ole Miss, as you just said, for that to happen.
Winning at Texas and Tennessee, they look pretty strong this year.
I think of the three Ole Miss is your shot, and then you can have that eight and four dream.
Yeah, because now you look like you think you can win that game at Florida.
That's a very winnable game now.
Auburn and home, that's a very winnable game, yeah.
So to get that, you've got to beat somebody you're not supposed to beat,
who is the best chance to do that?
I mean, Ole Miss is the best chance of the teams, and you're catching them.
I mean, they really haven't played a tough game yet, Shannon.
So you're going to be their – we've played two tough games.
They really haven't played one yet.
We're going to kind of be their first one.
So that's how you get – that's how you have a shot.
If they play the way they did against Georgia last week, I feel good against any team.
I mean, you just played the best.
Really? You do?
I do.
I mean, I picked them to beat Tennessee before we started the season.
I don't feel as good about that now, but I think they'll at least give them a good game in that one.
Yeah.
All right, who's up next?
Blake.
Blake, by the way, they just asked me to do the official pre-gings.
game and halftime show on the SEC network this weekend yeah for the UK game I got to do
that right yeah yeah do that yes you know a lot about Ohio I'm gonna have to shower and all
kinds of stuff all right go ahead hey how are y'all I'm doing good hey I just want to let you guys
they're in Lexington by the way the the I guess they're the the pregame and post like the
the SEC now show yeah is in Lexington this weekend I'm not sure
why, but they are. But go ahead.
I just want you all know that I saw a post on Instagram the other day.
Wright State Baseball is playing against Kentucky at Prasco Park in Cincinnati on October 6
of like a fall exhibition game.
So there's anybody in the Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky area that wants to watch
Kentucky baseball.
They're playing up with Cincinnati at Presco Park.
So I'm looking forward to another.
What day is that?
What day is that?
It's on October 6.
October 6.
All right. Go ahead.
That was it.
I was just
Okay.
I'm going to take a football game this weekend and get a
All right, appreciate it.
859-280-20287.
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.
Stockton Mortgage, I told the story.
A guy last weekend hit me up said,
hey, man, I need a Stockton Mortgage guy that helps me in Louisville.
Hooked him up for the representative,
and now they're on their way.
So they're the number one mortgage lender in the state of Kentucky.
Call them and you'll find out why.
Stockton Mortgage, NMLS, 8259, Equal Housing Lender,
NMLS, Consumer Access.
We'll take a break and be right back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,

That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.

and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions,
the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the truth.

What's up, fam?
This Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game.
is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I gotta manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's gonna be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He run up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

stuff, like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Come on out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Miss Park.

Welcome back, final segment here, Kentucky Sports Radio,
live in Georgetown by Water Farms.
Beautiful day.
Thanks to all the folks who have come out.
Enjoyed a nice day here at the 30th anniversary.
of Autumn Fest. It's one of the great little jewels in central Kentucky, and they bring us out
every year. We very much appreciate it. Shannon, you will be at Bourbon and Beyond all weekend.
How was night one? I heard Sting put everyone to sleep. I didn't stay for Sting. I had to go
to OVW, so I left a little bit early, but the wallflowers were great. Were they?
Yeah, I thought they were excellent. Wow. One headline. It was really hot out there,
and it's going to be hot all weekend long. So who's tonight? I know Zach Bryan is Saturday.
Dave Matthews band.
Dave Matthews is tonight.
You like Dave Matthews?
I do.
I've never seen them live before, so I'm looking forward to that.
Normally I won't stay if I don't like the headliner.
I've seen him.
When he plays, his shoulders will go up in the air like this,
and he'll make a little face, and you'll enjoy it.
I think you like Tedeshi Trucks Band, don't you?
I don't know what that is.
No, no.
I thought we went to see that band.
Who?
Tedashi Trux Band.
Where did we see that?
I've heard about this band through you.
I don't think that's true.
That is true.
We went to see it at the,
the Lexington, not the opera house, what's the Lexington concert?
No, we went.
Yeah, you know, you and I went and saw the guy, the country singer,
Ta!
What's his name?
Is Manchester musicals?
Chris Knight.
We went and saw Chris Knight.
I didn't I go see Chris Knight with you.
Okay, maybe not.
Was Tedeschi Trucks band?
You told me that you really liked Tedeshi Trucks band.
I don't even know who they are.
I don't think I know who that is.
All right, well, either way, they're playing tonight.
Okay.
Zach Brian is playing Saturday.
Did you see Drew the Zach Brian Taylor Swift beef?
No, fill me in on it.
Zach Brian was probably Ambien tweeting the other night.
He's a bad tweeter.
He does that a lot.
And he got up really late at night, and he tweeted Eagles greater than Chiefs, Kanye greater than Taylor.
Ooh, dude, you don't want to mess with the Swifties.
You don't want to do this.
So the Swifties come at him, which is weird because they probably have similar fan bases, right?
Swifties come at him, he deletes his Twitter account, deletes his Twitter account, then writes
a three-page apology on Instagram, where he basically says, sorry, I'm going through a tough time
in my life, and I was up tweeting too late.
I love Taylor Swift.
She's awesome.
Please forget three pages of apology.
Now, his first public appearance since going after the Swifties is Saturday night and Bourbon
and beyond.
If he doubles down and goes, I hate Swifty!
I don't think he's going to do that.
He's already apologized.
But I know you like Zach, Brian.
I do, but he's surprised.
No, he deletes his Instagram or Twitter about once a month.
He's a little, I don't know, a little juvenile.
It's like he seeks out a fight like you're saying in this,
and then just deletes everything and apologizes a day later.
I like his music, but on social media, he's done this stuff before.
I used to do that, though.
Sometimes I would tweet something angrily and then when he's going,
Well, why did I say that, Ryan?
And then I'll delete it.
So I understand a little bit.
I just wouldn't go after Taylor Swift.
That's like one person I'd just let have her thing.
We've talked about this, man.
Public figures, sometimes maybe you need to save that as a draft
and maybe go back and read it just five minutes later before you hit Sin and put it out there.
I just don't understand.
I'm going through a tough time in life.
I know, let's pick on Taylor Swift.
Not a great time to be on Kanye's team?
Yeah, exactly.
Just that he went against Taylor.
It's like in that side.
I mean, it's like saying I'm puff daddy's my favorite.
I don't know.
man, I don't know if that's what I would do.
And then Sunday is Tyler Childers.
I'm trying to decide whether or not I'm going to get the energy to go out there.
Will you be there for that if I go?
I'll probably be over it by then.
But he's the last one.
People are playing on Saturday night, I would say yes.
Well, that's why I might go is hopefully people have cleared out.
Then I'll have a little bit of space.
You think people aren't going to go to Tyler Childers.
I mean, I think a lot of people will go, but maybe some people will not.
Who's up next?
Kentucky Longhair.
Hello, Kentucky Longhair.
Good morning, gentlemen.
Good morning.
Since one of your previous scholars took my question about Big Blue Madness,
I'd like to ask you about what would be your parking strategy for the Blue White Game.
That's a great question.
We are trying to work something out for that, but I don't know for sure.
I would say to you, if you're going to the Blue White Game,
or if you're going to any event at Memorial Coliseum this year,
the women's basketball game, women's volleyball, gymnastics,
just don't even try to park over there.
Like, don't even try unless you have a pass.
I don't mean to, like, toot my own horn,
but KS. Bar's parking lot is free and very walkable.
There's a garage that's just down from there on...
Well, it used to be Kennedy's bookstore, is now a parking garage.
That's now a parking garage, but you have to pay there.
So you could pay at that parking garage there at what used to be candy bookstore,
or the KS bar lot is actually free and, you know, a few blocks more.
I think those are your best options.
I would not get anywhere close to Memorial unless you have a pass.
Do you have any idea what the parking garage fee is?
I don't, but it's not going to be cheap, I bet, to be honest with you.
But I don't think it'll be ridiculous.
It'll probably be like $15 or something like that.
I got one more question.
When I was trying to get my tickets for the Blue White game,
I'd win him directly from my Club Blue account.
Yes.
And it wouldn't let me purchase.
Yeah, I've heard that there's some kind of problem with the code or whatever.
So if you'll watch my Twitter, when they tell me that's fixed,
let you know, but apparently
probably wasn't the best timing for that code
to go down right when you put the tickets on sale,
but I'll let you know.
Well, my wife
bought to tickets to her account.
I'm wondering as a day's anyway that I
that 20%.
That I don't know. You'll have to call them.
I don't handle those
but I wish you the best.
I appreciate the call. Yeah.
So we're hoping to try to
get something where people can get back
forth from it. I'm not sure. We'll see. Hang up in with me. We link up for the game.
You'll take him over there. That's nice of you. Who's up next? Oh, okay. 859-280-2287. Let's make some
predictions here. Let's do our predictions for the game. The Kentucky State Chamber of Commerce,
by the way, says hello to all the Kentuckians. And they're,
wants to talk to you about the impact of housing. Go to kYchamber.com slash housing
to learn all about the impact of housing across the state of Kentucky. Housing's good,
Shannon. I think you know that.
Yes.
KYchamber.com slash housing to learn more from the Kentucky Chamber.
Kentucky and Ohio, what's spread?
20.
20.
20.
20 point favorite.
Game starts at 1245 on the SEC network.
Ryan, I'll let you go first.
Can't pick Dane Key?
Give me your score and your MVP.
I'll go Kentucky 31 to 7.
I think the defense just shuts them down most of the game.
And if I got to go first, then if I can't take Dane, I'm taking Brock Bandergriff.
He's going to have his coming out.
party for a Kentucky Wildcat.
All right.
Vandigriff, Shannon.
I'll say cats win big.
They get a lot of tetties.
3514, Kentucky.
I'll take Barryon Brown.
Give 3514.
All right, Barry on Brown.
Drew.
Ohio, they rely on the run.
He's very good.
He's a national leader and a lot of stats,
but he's about to run into Kentucky.
They will struggle to score while Van derriff has a big day.
I'll say 38 to 6.
I'll say Dane Key catches two of his passes.
I think it's going to be.
a little bit of a slog at the beginning with teams just kind of going back and forth.
I think Mark Stoop's nature is going to try to be to do what they do best
and kind of get it on the ground first to get a little bit of a lead.
So I think it'll go slow.
I think it'll probably be like 10-3 at halftime.
But then I think in the second half, we start to put more points on the board.
I'm going to say cats win 31 to 6, but it'll be a second half big performance,
It's not a first half big performance.
And I'm going to go Dionne Walker.
This is going to be a game.
They can double team him.
It's not going to matter.
Ohio does not have anyone that can block Dion Walker,
and he will absolutely eat the entire game.
Thanks to all of you here at Buywater Farms,
folks who own it, and also many of you came out.
We will see you 8.30 tomorrow at the bar for the pregame show.
