A rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back.
It is hour number two, KSR 859-2802287.
Text machine 772-774-5-254.
One person writes, Matt, you callers call in and have a different opinion than you, and you argue with them.
You should just let them say their opinion.
Well, I'm not the best at that.
I grant you.
But, you know, I think it's important for people, especially on these positions that really matter,
like these positions, whether or not you should fire a coach, to really think through your opinion.
because it's easy to say things in abstract that when then placed in reality are much harder.
I wish we did that with coaches.
I wish rather than just like think about how unsatisfying answers from coaches are at press conferences.
Like you ask them a question and then they just answer.
Wouldn't it be a lot better if you could go, yeah, but what this?
What about this?
You would be able to get at the heart of what the issue is rather than just like coach speak.
it's the same thing with this.
So, yeah, I mean, could I do a better job?
I'm sure I could.
But I think at this point you know I'm going to do that.
But I also think it's like, okay, it's easy to go.
Well, we shouldn't give him that contract.
Okay.
But let's think about the decision that was actually made.
I think you owe it to people to think about how hard a decision something is
before you just say it's terrible.
It's hard to go back in time and put yourself in that moment when that was going on.
Mitch Barnhart could not let Stoops go.
that point. He couldn't. He had to sign him to a big
contract to lock him up because he's the best we've ever had here.
Let me give you another example, Drew. Paul writes and says,
the problem is not the $9 million a year. The problem
is the buyout should be 10 to 15% of the value of the contract
so you can get out of financially detrimental contracts.
Okay, somebody would read that and go, sure, that makes sense,
except no one's going to agree to that. Who's going to sign that? No coach is going to sign
Because the content, it's like in the NFL.
In the NFL, you'll read that someone signs for $220 million.
But they're not getting $220 million.
You have to ask yourself, what is the guaranteed amount of the contract?
Because in the NFL, contracts are fake.
If you sign Mark Stoops to a $70 million contract and you only guarantee $10 million,
then you have signed him to a $10 million contract.
And so coaches aren't going to do that, Drew.
And you're big on leverage.
Stoops had a lot of leverage then.
Yeah, he did.
You could have put that out in front of him, and his agent would have said,
don't sign that.
We can do better than that.
Look what you've just done here.
And he has, by the way, just as a side note, he has the best agent in sports.
His agent, you know how I used to say I was my agent's worst client?
He is his agent's worst client.
his client his agent represents all the big coaches in college football all of them lane kiffin
the guy at alabama daubo marcus the mark is his worst client if you go look at the top 10
highest paid coaches i think that guy like manages seven of wow so you know we got the hardest
dude to negotiate with that's just kind of how it is right and like we said Mitch did what he had
to do at that moment.
And people that want to make a change, you know, be careful what you wish for, you know.
All right, I want everyone to do me a favor.
This is, I don't ask people for many favors, but I'm going to ask you a favor, okay?
Pull out your phone here.
No, no, no, no, you pull out your phone, Mario.
Everybody gets your phone out.
All right.
Phones out.
Phones out.
Those of you watching here and get your phones out.
ESPN, after seven years of me haranguing them for it, has given Myron and I, our own
podcast feed.
Whoa.
After seven years of me going,
will you just put our show up on podcast,
they finally decided to do it.
So I'm just asking you a favor.
I hope you'll listen to it because I think the shows are really good.
But what I really would like initially,
because they're going to look is for all of us to subscribe to it.
So if you will go to whatever you use,
Apple, Spotify,
this is the one thing I'm asking of you.
I won't ask you another thing before Christmas,
except probably to like buy one of the products we advertise.
But besides that, go to Sunday morning with Matt and Myron.
That's the feat.
And just hit subscribe.
And then if you want to listen to it, that would be awesome.
If you want to rate it, review it, like it, that would be even better.
But that'll let you decide that.
All I'm asking is that you subscribe to it.
Sunday mornings with Matt and Myron.
Nice.
You see that?
Yep.
Do you subscribing?
I am subscribing.
Did you subscribe, Mario?
Did you do it?
I saw you do it, Drew.
Shannon, have you done it?
I am now a proud subscription.
subscriber of Sunday mornings with Matt and Myron.
Sunday mornings and Matt Meyron.
That would be very helpful.
And also you can check it out.
We had a really good show yesterday where we talked about books of the Bible.
So it was on your pre-NFL sports show.
You need to talk about books of the Bible.
And we were talking about what our favorite books of the Bible were.
What was yours?
Well, I've said this before.
Ecclesiastes is my favorite book of the Bible.
Sort of talks about the sort of why.
life is not forever and there's a time for everything in life,
but then also to remember that ultimately we are part of a bigger picture.
I really like ecclesiastes.
What is yours?
I like patience of Job.
I'm a Job guy.
You like the patience of Job or the Book of Job?
Yeah, the Book of Job.
Teach you patience.
I think you're the first person I've ever heard say Job to the answer to that question.
I feel like watching your lips, though, you were trying to think of a book of the bike.
I almost said psalms, but there's a lot of psalms.
I don't know if I would ever read all of them.
Rank your psalms, though.
How rank your psalms?
Well, you know, we don't have much time here.
You don't like to compete them against each other.
You have plenty of time.
There's a lot of them.
There's a lot of psalms.
What's the 23rd?
That's the big one, right?
Oh, yeah, I guess so, sure.
What is it?
Doesn't matter.
502-571 today.
All right.
Let's talk just a second about basketball.
Arkansas and Duke played preseason games.
Both of them look good for different reasons.
First of all, let's start with Arkansas.
They win 8569 over Kansas.
Now, Kansas was without their three best players.
Yes.
So there is a sense in which, you know, you got to take it with a grain of salt.
But Boogie Flan, their freshman who was going to come here looked really, really good.
DJ Wagner looked good.
They win.
Arkansas fans were crowing in my mention.
all weekend.
I have more,
I used to think
Louisville fans followed me the most.
I now think Tennessee, Arkansas,
and Auburn are the three.
That, because they just,
my, Auburn from that time I said they weren't,
remember when I said they're not camped out for Auburn,
they're camped out for us.
Yeah.
And then Arkansas as well.
I didn't watch the game.
Drew, you watched it.
Are you scared?
Oh, you did, did you watch it?
I will say I caught,
I went to Arkansas's Twitter.
because they tweeted so many highlights.
So I saw all the key plays.
No, I couldn't afford Hogs plus.
I just, I like the freehogs.
You might be more of a free hog got.
Just based on seeing highlights,
Boogie Flan does look very good.
And DJ made a jump that we'll all be happy for him.
We'll see how the season goes.
But DJ looks like he's very improved.
My biggest takeaway was there's a clip where Big Z
throws a beautiful outlet pass that hits a dew in stride
and he swings on the rim.
And I'll admit, even though I want Arkansas to lose most of their games,
thought good for those two.
I mean, it made me a little jealous because I wanted both those guys to stay.
But I was happy for those two playing well and DJ playing well.
But overall, I still kind of like we don't want to overreact too much with what happened here.
We'll still see what happens with Arkansas.
But, I mean, you can't argue that if you're a fan, that would look good for them.
Yeah, they got to be happy about that.
Duke beat Arizona State 103 to 49.
Whoa.
Duke, you look at the highlights of them.
I mean, Cooper Flag wasn't even their best player yesterday.
Like, they got a chance to be really good.
Now, they're all freshmen, they're young,
but that team we play on November 12th,
that's going to be a good test because now Arizona State might as well quit.
You can't lose by 54 points.
I don't care if it's an exhibition game or not.
At some point, you've got to be like, all right,
have some pride here, folks, when you're Arizona State.
But Duke looks like they may be good, too.
I worry about that Duke game.
I don't know if I'll pick Kentucky to maybe win that one,
but I think Duke is definitely one of the best teams in the country.
Would you rather us in our exhibition games?
Now, you saw how much fun we had against Kentucky State.
We got Minnesota State Mankato tomorrow night.
Would you rather us play two home games against those teams
or play, like, good teams in games that don't count,
one in Rupp, one somewhere else?
What would you rather do?
I think I would like one of each.
I think I would like one against.
I can't get one of each, though,
because teams are going to want you to come to their place.
It would be kind of cool, though, if we did a home-and-home with Kansas for two scrimmage games to get us ready for the season,
you kind of really get an idea of what kind of team you've got going into the Duke game.
So you'd rather do that?
Probably.
I think so.
I'm the same.
As fun as that was, watching them beat Wesleyan by 71, I was a little jealous of, like, Tennessee fans having a game to be excited about yesterday.
Arkansas had weeks looking to Ford playing Kansas.
I think I'd like to try that playing a big name that doesn't matter.
Yeah, I think I would too.
I do wonder if that's where this is all going now.
Now maybe part of it is we won't do it because we can get the crowds we get for their games,
whereas I think these other teams, when they play exhibition games,
no one comes so they don't make any money.
We actually can make money, so I don't know.
But like if you look around, a lot of the big teams are doing that now.
A lot of the big teams are playing each other in these games.
And it would be interesting to see if that makes you end up being back.
You used to not be able to do that.
This is only in the last two or three years that they even let you do it.
I think they started letting you do it during COVID.
But if you look around, there's a lot of those.
Tennessee played Indiana yesterday.
And Indiana won at Tennessee.
Tennessee shot really poorly in the game.
But I kind of think that's what I want to do too, Ryan, even though it's weird.
I would hate to lose that game against Trancy, Georgetown, Kentucky Wesleyan.
But if you're thinking about getting your team ready, you know, you want to play, I think,
one of those high-profile games.
Yeah.
So we'll see if that ends up being what we do.
in the future. Who's next, Shannon? Rick.
Rick, go ahead, Rick.
Hey, Matt, guys, enjoy the show.
Hey, listen, you know, you think back over the year,
Stoops has been dealt a pretty big bucket load of crap
in the last calendar year.
If you think about all the things that have happened,
you know, the Cohen leaving and the pony-up thing,
even though it was poorly timed,
even a blind man could see that he's right.
And then, you know, things like the probation.
And sometimes I wonder if he looks,
looks around and sees UTs AD and some of the ADs in the Southeastern Conference
fighting for the programs, and yet it seems like Mitch really just sort of lays down
and takes it from the NCAA.
But I guess the point is there's a whole lot of stuff that happens, and we can't
control all that happens, but we can sure control how we respond.
And when I hear Coach Stoops, who is a fighter, sort of respond in a way like he's beaten,
that disturbs me.
I think that's a really good point.
That's a really good point.
It's so against his personality to respond the way he's responded in the last few weeks.
Yeah.
Yeah, he can he could respond because in a positive, angry fighting way and just proved
to everybody how long they are.
He's got that in him.
And the truth of it is, Matt, these people that want to get rid of him, I've been around watching
Kentucky football for 60 years.
and my faith in the AD hiring a better football coach than we have right now is absolutely nil.
We better hang on to the one guy that's got a chance of doing something with us.
I appreciate the call.
I mean, they're not, they're going to hang on to him unless he decides not to be hung on to.
I mean, they're not, they're just not going to fire him.
And, you know, again, it feels like this is the same conversation we had back in February of March,
where after the basketball games, people would go, Matt, say what needs to be set.
Say Cala Perry needs to be fired.
And I was like, it was crazy to me at the time because I didn't even,
Kyle and I weren't even getting along.
And I'm like, but we can't say it.
We're not going to fire him.
Like we're just not going to do it.
And the same thing's happening now after the game.
You know, look on social media.
Matt, don't why don't he just say?
They need to be, what difference is going to make if I say it?
I don't, first of all, I don't even know if I believe.
and if I say it, he's not going to be fired.
This is going to be his decision.
The reason I kind of wonder if he's going to be back is he doesn't, that caller hit it.
He is a fighter.
In his heart, he's that Youngstown fight.
I remember Tim Ryan, the guy that is a congressman who ran against J.D. Vance for Senate.
He went to high school with Mark Stoops.
When I met Tim and I talked about doing Stoops, he goes,
Mark Stoops would fight anybody about anything.
All right.
But that's him.
And when you see that dude not fighting, that worries you a little bit.
It does worry you.
You know, we heard him after the game.
You know, he owned up to it.
He didn't make any excuses.
But some of that fight is missing.
And it makes you wonder if some of the fire is gone right now.
That's why these conversations are eerily familiar we had, like you said.
Hey, if you're looking for a great new home where you can enjoy watching the games
and with your family, the Bluegrass Home Center is there for you.
standard home buyers with standard built single section and multi-section manufactured homes.
Two, three, four, five bedrooms.
It's bluegrass home center.com.
They offer homes as low as 48,900.
And it's at 241 Rudy Bear Road in London, Kentucky.
We've been on Rudy Bear Road.
That's right.
Call the Bluegrass Home Center 606-215-3300.
It's Bluegrass Home Center finance with only zero down to Bluegrass Home Center.
We'll take a break and be right back, KSR.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hardway with me, your host, and your favorite therapist, Kear Games.
And in recognition of mental health awareness month,
I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience
in the mental health field and conversations
with so many incredible guests.
I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing
and we're still chasing it
and we don't know when we've done enough
because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.
Join me, Kear Gaines, as we have real conversations about healing,
growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast,

What's up, Famis, Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game
is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Everyone, it's Rider Strong and Will Ferdell from PodMeets World.
And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of this show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Like what was...
Yeah.
Just because we...
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion
in the 50th season
from the final attempts at gameplay
to the desperate pleas of finalists
to a bunch of...
Ha, hoo.
Ha, ha, who.
Again, we are experts.
So make sure to tune into PodMeets Twirled

Welcome back, Tughey Sports Radio, 859-28027, here at KS Bar and Grill.
Got some folks here today.
Where are you from, sir?
Northern Kentucky.
What about you?
London, Kentucky.
What about you, ma'am?
Sarasota.
All over the place.
Everybody excited about Sunday mornings of Matt and Meyer.
You could just tell.
By the all we're subscribing, getting ready.
One person writes, Matt, yesterday I saw.
and watched my guy Donald Trump's six-hour rally at Madison Square Garden.
Do you think Kamala Harris could do a six-hour rally?
Probably not, but I wouldn't want to see anybody for six hours.
Is there any human being that you would want to go watch have a rally for six hours?
A rally?
I wouldn't want to go to one for six minutes.
You've been to one.
We sent you to one for Hey, Kentucky.
I mean, I would not spend my time at a rally.
Six hours.
I even if I was watching
Would you come to a rally for me for six hours
Ryan?
That's stretching it
I give you two or three hours
But then I'm gonna have to go to the potty
And probably not come back
Six hours Shannon
Could you do it?
No
You know I feel like I love wrestling
But I feel like WrestleMania
They've stretched it out
It's too long
It's too much
It's too much
I don't want to watch it
I'm done with it
That one you and I went to
It was too long
It was like six hours
We were exhausted
Yeah six hours
Is there anything
you could
would want to do for six hours.
I mean, within reason, Brian.
Is there, is there, like, is there any event you would want to go to that would be six hours
and you would think, okay, I could do that?
I mean, I've spent multiple six hour days at, like, a music festival where it's rotating acts.
Let's see, even that wears me out, like six hours at a music festival.
It's something like that.
But, like, one person, like one act, I know.
Yeah, I don't think it was just one part.
Like, he had a lot of people speaking, but it was like a lot of people getting up and speaking.
I just, I can't think of anything I could do.
for six hours.
The only thing I think I could even come close to was maybe a Super Bowl.
You get there an hour before, sit through a four-hour game.
But I don't think you would want to sit through a six-hour game.
No, as long as there's maybe some pre-game stuff going on, some post-game stuff going on.
I was at the Masters for like 10 hours.
And at the end of it, I was like, stop hitting golf balls.
Oh, I was sunrise to sunset at the Masters.
Even that, like, it's like, okay.
By the way, I'm going to say something.
Everybody should go to the Masters if you ever get a chance.
Golf tournaments in person, most overrated sport.
Really?
Yeah.
Better at home.
Yeah.
It's tough to follow.
It's tough to follow.
You don't really know what's going on to rest of the course.
And it's, I mean, you should go.
The only exception of that for me was the Rider Cup.
And then you should go to the Masters to be there.
But, like, golf tournaments in person are hard to follow, Ryan.
You can only see right what's in front of you.
Well, when we were there at Valhalla, the crowd was so crazy, you know, you'd gather around at green.
You can't even hardly, and I'm so short, I can't see over people.
I can't knock people over.
Especially one that's that crowded.
I mean, that was like insane.
Crazy crowded.
That's just my controversy.
But no, six hours too long.
Who's next?
David.
David.
Go ahead, David.
Hi, Matt.
Hey, David.
How are you?
I'm better after the weekend.
Tell you the truth.
Yeah.
It wasn't very good.
But basketball is tomorrow.
We got Minnesota State Mankato.
Are you ready to take them down?
Tell Myron to eat it.
Whoa.
David.
You're talking Myron trash about Minnesota State Mankato?
That was his alma mater.
He played football for them, David.
So what?
They're not going to be Kentucky tomorrow.
No, they're not.
Now, they are the Division II national champs, Drew.
I mean, that's like Division 2 national champs, they're probably better than 100, 150 D1 teams.
I mean, Minnesota State Mankato, just to giving examples, probably only slightly worse than the Oakland team we played last year.
I mean, they're that good.
This is going to be a good team that comes in.
They can lose too.
I expect it to be another big blowout just with the way UK plays after seeing them a week ago.
I'm not saying Kentucky's going to be this great thing that's beating everybody.
but the effort they showed nonstop on both ends of the floor
I think is going to be tough for any D2 team to come into Ruff Arena
and keep it close.
Well, David, I hope we can get a big victory for you, okay?
Okay, hopefully I'll come to the bar someday.
You just tell me when, I'll save you a seat, all right?
Okay.
All right, thank you, David.
Appreciate it.
859-28027.
You told us Miron's not going to be able to make it?
Myers not coming.
What a church.
He was like, oh, I got a lot going on.
I'm like, what do you have going on better than your alma mater playing here?
And he was like, well, I got to be in Kansas on Friday.
I'm like, this is Tuesday.
That's not close.
Those are different days of the week.
It's not lost on me that he was coming until they played Wesleyan.
I think he saw the team and thought, I don't want to be in there for that.
That's right.
I'm excited about tomorrow night, aren't you?
Get to watch them against an even better team.
I think each time out I get more and more excited about this basketball team from the, from
madness to the blue-white game to the Westling game and now from tomorrow night I am excited to
see how they play out and remember it's on the computer but we've i think we've got it fixed here now
so it'll be on all the television all the tvs won't just be on this one okay it will be who's next
isa Isaac i said isa i'm a young fan but uh i think that as the seasons progress i've kind of
lost interest like at the vandy game
I was really disappointed when we lost.
And then the Florida and Armour game,
I've kind of just had them on its background noise.
And it's to the point for the Tennessee game is the most important to me
because I'm from Tennessee,
and I kind of just don't care about watching.
I think there's a lot of people like you, Isaac.
I really do.
I mean, I think there's a lot of people like you.
I think the Vandy lost took it down a notch, Florida.
And I do think there's a lot of people on Saturday going to be like,
oh, do we have to watch this?
I think you're right.
And then just on basketball, if we somehow managed to beat Duke on November 12th,
do you think we could start dreaming about a Final Four?
Oh, sure.
I think we should dream anyway.
I mean, it's early in the year.
I appreciate the call.
I don't know that I would say they are a Final Four team.
But, yeah, if you were to beat Duke, why not?
Why not?
I mean, Duke's as good as anybody.
That Kansas team that's preseason number one didn't look all that great
on yeah why not i'm gonna i am i mean i'm gonna be i'm gonna be very excited until proven otherwise
true how about that i'll be going in confident with duke now i don't know who's gonna guard cooper
flag that will be the big issue but other than that i mean i it's i feel like a lot of fans have
just surrendered that duke game like there's no chance i think kentucky'll be in it they just
have a really tough matchup they'll have to figure out i think i think i think the duke game is
almost you're playing with house money yeah long as you win your first two
I think the Duke game is just fun.
It'll give us a notion of where we are, right,
and we'll get a sense of where we stand,
and then we got all year to kind of...
What are we going to? Losing the Champions Classic?
I've been doing that.
I've seen many of those.
We're one and six in the last seven Champions Classics.
Why would I worry about it?
Yeah, and I'm excited about it.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
KSR.

Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Tuggy Sports Radio.
859-280-2287.
Text Machine, 772-7-7-4.
By the way, Sunday morning with Matt Myron,
just from my mention on the show yesterday,
got in the top 50 a podcast.
Maybe from this show we might end up in the top 20, top 15,
then I can send it to my boss at ESPN,
tell him to eat it.
It'll be great if we could do that.
Maybe you could get a new contract and take advantage of this like stoops,
you know, get your big deal, all that leverage.
My leverage at ESPN is that I'm cheap.
That's my leverage.
The moment I'm not cheap, they'll go, you know, man, it's been great.
We appreciate your.
I'm the, because I have another job, most people that work there, that's their job.
Because I have another job, like, they love me because they don't have to pay me a lot.
And the availability.
Your holiday guy.
And I'm available.
Well, I'm starting to bring that down a little bit.
When I got the Thanksgiving call this year, I was like, you know what?
No.
What's your update on the, I've done it.
I've done it enough.
What's your update on doing a play-by-play for a ball game?
They said they're going to give us one.
They're waiting to see the – I won't know which one until the matchups.
Okay.
Because basically they're going to be like, all right, what's the worst game?
We're going to give it to those two guys.
We're going to give it to those two guys and let them go.
5-9-280-22.
One person writes, Matt, I was at the Kentucky State High School Marching Band Championships this weekend,
started at 3.30, end at 1130, eight hours of bands.
Oh, that's awful.
I mean, no offense to high school marching bands.
I'm sure y'all are good people, all of them, and your trombones and your clarinets,
but I can't think of a lot I would like less than that.
That's a good mommy and a good daddy if you're going to sit through eight hours of that.
I probably would go to watch my kid and then peace out.
Check out after that.
What if your kid was in it and they said for you to go, you have to watch everyone else's kids too?
Yeah, I'm sneaking out somehow.
That's a lot of horn tooting and drum banging.
All right.
A lot of horn tooting and drum banging, okay.
I had to sit through a few of those due to family ties.
Some of those cheer competitions that last all day.
I think that would be worse than band.
Okay.
All right.
So we're going to do, for all the folks here, we're going to do a sports equinox parlay.
All right.
It's the only night where you get all four games.
We're going to each, I might have you each pick a sport.
Okay.
Okay.
So, Shannon, I'll let you.
We'll start with you.
We'll let you do the NFL.
Okay?
So the NFL tonight, you got Giants and the Steelers.
The, I don't know who's the favorite.
Steelers are a six-point favorite.
You can do anything.
You could do Steelers Money Line.
Giants Money Line.
You could do over-under-you-pick whatever you want.
I'll take Steelers Money Line.
I feel like that to save that.
Steelers Money Line.
It's a little easy.
I mean, we want to win, though.
That's the point, right?
It's a part of it.
I'm going to take, I'll do the hockey.
I'm going to take.
Sebastian Ahul scores a goal tonight against the Canucks.
So that'll be Ajo scores a goal.
Steelers' money line.
Now you get Dodgers Yankees.
Give me a pick.
Game three, Dodgers up 2-0.
First game in New York, supposed to be a perfect night.
Like in the mid-50s.
It's supposed to be a great night.
So I don't think the Yankees lose at home.
They're a one-and-a-half-point favorite.
I'm going to take that.
So you're taking Yankees against the spread?
Win by more than one?
Yes.
All right, so you got that.
He's got Yankees minus one and a half, Mario.
You got that?
Okay, so now the basketball one will let Drew pick.
You can do whatever you want in the NBA.
I didn't know who played.
I had my Steelers pick.
I thought you'd tell you an hour ago you were going to pick.
I had three different Steelers picks.
I assumed I'd be the NFL guy.
So let's see.
Nix play Carl Towns over 20 points.
Carl Towns over 20 points.
Nice.
So we got Yankees, Steelers.
and CarlTowls.
So Mario will send that in, and when they give us the thing,
it'll be our KSR Equinox pick.
We won the parlay again Saturday.
That's now three out of five.
If you've bet us every week,
you'd be up to 13 times the amount of money you bet initially
because we were 5 to 1, 7 to 1, and 8 to 1.
Are we the best bettors of all time?
Is that what's happening?
People are saying it.
I think I'm only picking underdogs from now on.
Two and O on getting dogs to win outright.
Really, no game was close.
We kind of won them all by.
They didn't even really have to sweat.
I'm mad at myself.
I didn't get my bet in in time.
I missed because one of the games kicked off at noon.
I didn't get it in and missed out on this.
So it's not good stuff here.
Just roll with KSAR.
This equinoct tonight at midnight when Aho puts his goal in,
and we're all cashing our checks.
You can be excited.
Who's next?
Cody.
Cody.
What's up, Cody?
Hey guys, appreciate your show.
I want to make two points to kind of,
one of them is to piggyback off what you said about the quarterback,
but my mom has been divorced five times,
and every time through the divorce,
it's always been the husband's fault.
And I look at that,
and it's the same thing with Mark Stoops.
Like, how many coordinators have we went through,
and it's always the coordinator's fault?
At some point, who's the common denominator here?
So why would you?
elite level offensive coordinator or elite level prospect a quarterback want to come to Kentucky under what Stoops has put.
He's shown that. He's proven what he is offensively.
I mean, I think it is that the offensive coordinator part of the equation, I appreciate the call.
The offensive coordinator part of the equation is a completely fair comment.
You have had player, you've had offensive coordinator after offensive coordinator.
and at some point you can't keep blaming the offensive coordinators.
I thought the play calls Saturday seemed awful, to be quite frank with you,
but at some point you can't continue to put it on them, Ryan,
you do have to look at the overall regime.
The guy's right.
I mean, it's not just this year.
It's been a kind of recurring theme.
And when Liam Cole made those comments, you know, you can't go back home again.
I mean, that kind of threw a red flag, I think,
what maybe happened last year, you know?
I think you're right.
I think the Cohen thing was him just really hating college, too.
But the stat that stands out to me the most is that Kentucky has not finished in the top 60 in passing since Stoops has been here.
Is that right?
Yeah, not even top 60.
Not even in the top 60 since he's been there.
That's an attitude of how you want to have your offense.
That is a stat I didn't realize.
And then the worst stat this year, we already mentioned it.
But the fact that you have been on the goal line three times and have gone scoreless.
Yeah.
That is unbelievable.
There were a lot of people mad that Wilcox didn't get a chance to score his second touchdown.
of the game inside the time. Yeah, I mean, think about it the one. If he hands that touchdown to
Wilcox, first of all, we score. Secondly, a lot of people cash 2,800 to 1. Yes. That was not good.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the day,
of the thing. We get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession
of the thing and we're still chasing it and we don't know when we've done enough. Because people
scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
knows. Without Luca and Austin
Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted
this series because when they don't
have Rudy in the lineup, he has to
really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall. And then
he has to give us everything he gives us on the
night-to-night bases on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that
thing. That man, hell get the flying.
he running up the court, licking his fingers
while he got the ball, like,
after you go through a training camp with that, Izaa,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.

So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Yeah.
Just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay
to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of,
Ha, who.
Ha, ha, ooh.
Again, we are experts.

Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, A ref.
My mom wants.
want you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Wreck, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
859-280-2287.
A couple things here.
First of all, they just put out the depth chart for football team.
Chip train them, not on the depth chart.
Wilcox, not there either.
It's Demi Sumo Carmbay and then Patterson.
I didn't realize Wilcox got hurt during the game last week, last Saturday.
I mean, I don't know if he did.
I'm just, that's what about linebacker with J.J. Weaver and Derek Jackson.
Linebacker, J.J. Weaver is on it.
Derek Jackson is on.
Okay.
So Dumas Johnson, Jackson, and Weaver all on there.
So is Deon Walker.
It looks like most of the other guys still on there.
A lot of people said, well, our defense struggled in the second half
because Weaver and Jackson weren't out there.
No, there were nobody tackling
and tackling even when those guys were in there.
So that wasn't the issue.
They have Maxwell Harrison on there.
I was going to say, I don't think they've changed that in six weeks.
It's been exactly the same, no matter the injury report.
They've always had Patterson ahead of Wilcox?
Yeah, I think that's been the exact same depth chart since about week two.
Oh, well, then never mind.
I could be wrong, but the last few weeks,
weeks have certainly been the same one over and over and over, no matter the circumstances of people.
That's interesting that that would, that Patterson was always the second one, though.
That's kind of odd, you know.
It was good to get him back.
I mean, he needed to get some fresh legs back there.
Rained the ball pretty well a couple times.
Yeah, if I'm not, 280, 2287.
So we got Minnesota State tomorrow.
Pre-game show will be at 4.30.
Game is at 7.
It's on the computer.
And then we've got, I got my trivia on Wednesday, by the way.
I'm writing questions tonight.
You got your team ready?
I got to get my team ready.
I tried to recruit hubby and Sarah over the weekend and gave them a little heads up, so those are my ringers.
Yeah, well, you can't just ask people the day of.
You need to give them a little bit of notice.
Are you dressing up for Halloween?
Oh, is a fat baby fart?
Yes, I am.
I don't like that analogy.
You say that all the time.
I don't think that's a good analogy.
I don't know why fat babies would fart, and I don't even know why you say that.
I think I'm going to try to even go a little extra scary and really try to scare the kids that come to my house.
this year. Good. That's what a good adult does, right? Sure. Who's up next? Lucas. Lucas,
go ahead, Lucas. Hello? Yes, go ahead. Hey, real quick. So I think that we should not diminish,
but less than the Duke blowout over Arizona State. Last year, they went 14 and 18. I mean,
Kentucky Wesley at least won the D2 National Stadium. Yeah, I don't care. You beat a power five team,
by 55 points. I don't care how bad they are. That's impressive. Hold on. One more thing also.
You got to keep in mind that, and this is kind of separate from basketball, but the fact that Mark,
or Mark Polk is, he is intelligent as he is, he could be a neurosurgeon. And I don't think that
we're going to get blown out by Duke. I'm not saying we're going to win, but I don't think
we're going to get blown out. I think we're going to be competitive.
And I think that Mark Pope's approach to the game is a lot more intellectual and a lot more,
it's a lot different than say what Bobby Hurley is Arizona State would do.
Bobby Hurley is John Shire.
And I think that Bart Pohley and John Shire are smart too.
They're not idiots.
They went to Duke.
Yeah, obviously, smart.
Yes, they're smart dudes.
But what I'm saying is, though, I don't think Mark Pope is just.
going to get blown out. I think he is going, his approach to the game is one that won't lead to a
blowout. Now, I don't know what we'll be able to stack up with two flags. Yeah, that's, I appreciate
the call. Look, I, if we're going to get excited about us beating Kentucky Wesleyan by 71, we have to
give Duke credit for winning by 54 against a Power 5 team. That's an impressive result. It just is.
We also have to note former cat on the Arizona State team, Jaden Quaintens, who is going to be one of the headliners of our recruiting classes in the game.
I forgot that he was there.
That top five recruit was there.
I completely forgot about that.
I didn't see any of the game, but I read a recap written on an Arizona State blog, and it seemed like he played pretty well.
They're excited about him.
I didn't have eyeballs on it, but that was a familiar name in that one.
I completely forgot about that.
That's a really good point.
Well, you know, I will make a prediction.
We will get blown out a game or two this year.
When you shoot as many threes as we do, when we're cold,
there's going to be somebody that beats us by a lot.
Remember, Alabama lost by 30 to us last year,
playing a very similar style because there's a feast or famine part of it, right?
So there'll be a game or two where somebody takes us to the woodshed.
And it won't be because Mark Pope's not smart.
It will just be when you play a style where you shoot a lot of threes.
If you're not hitting them, Ryan, you have a chance to get blown out.
It will happen where there'll be a game where they go five for 40 from three point land.
It's going to happen.
It will just basketball, man.
And it will have to be a team with some talent to do it.
I don't think it'll be Duke.
I think our dudes will play well in that stage.
You know, I'll use the example of Michigan State.
Michigan State sometimes wins in the Champions Classic, sometimes loses.
But if you'll go look at those games, they're always close.
Because they have a veteran team that kind of keeps it close in the early season.
I think that'll be what this is.
But we're going to get blown out.
Yep.
We're not like immune from getting blown out in the game.
I just use Alabama as an example.
Final four team, loads of talent, similar style to us.
We beat them by 30 last year.
Yep.
It happens.
I don't think there will be a blowout, but one thing I'm confident in is they will play well
in all these early season games against teams they should beat.
I agree.
In the past, we've had freshmen that weren't ready, and you look up,
you're down 20 to Wilmington.
These guys have played way too much basketball for one of these kind of second-tier
opponents to come in here and steal one.
Totally agree. Who's next? Clay.
Clay, go ahead, Clay.
Hey, Matt. I just think
this fan base
have to take a collective rest.
Okay. I mean,
everyone wanted us to go seven and five,
right?
I mean... Correct.
I mean, I actually know,
I think there are people who thought
we would do better than seven and five. I tended
to kind of go back and four, seven and five,
eight and four, but there were people who,
thought eight and four was like a given seven and five was the bottom and there's a good chance we
finished four and eight right that's not good here's the thing i think that we went out
we go to the los vegas bowl we can't fire stoops i mean jerry jones is the only one that
can fire stoops here i mean we don't have 44 million yeah but we're not going to win out i mean
you really think we're going to win at tennessee and at texas i mean why not
Who's to say this?
I mean, who's to say about anything, I guess.
I want someone where you're having.
Vanderbilt almost beat Packers.
Yeah, but we just lost it home to Auburn, and we lost to Vanderbilt, and we lost to Florida,
and we lost to South Carolina.
Well, you've got a point, but, I mean, if Arkansas can beat Tennessee, and, I mean,
we can almost beat Vanney with 120 yards of penalties.
Arkansas is better than we are right now this year.
But I like your confidence.
I appreciate the call.
Shannon, why not?
Anyone can beat anybody.
The world is fragile.
Yeah, you're living in a different reality, pal.
Pau?
Did you just give that guy a pal?
I gave him the pal.
I mean, if you've been watching the same team I've been watching,
there's no way they go to Tennessee and Texas and win either one of those games.
I will say this.
I'm going to make a prediction.
I think one of those games is going to be oddly competitive.
That's Kentucky football.
I think one of those games, in one of those two games against Texas or Tennessee,
it'll be the fourth quarter and we'll be in the game.
I don't know if we'll win, but I bet you in one of those.
those games, it is going to be oddly competitive, Drew, because that's just kind of how Stoops is, right?
I'm going to predict Kentucky to lose a lot by this weekend. I think Tennessee will win.
But if it's close in the fourth quarter, I won't be shocked because I think Tennessee's down,
and that's just what Kentucky football does. Right when we write them off. They'll have a game.
I mean, I can totally see this team. See, I'm hesitant to do this, because Mario put that video out
at the beginning of the year where I was like, we could go nine and three, and that video is
now every fan base is like, what an idiot.
And I was clearly operating in a theoretical world, and everybody got mad.
But it would be funny if we lost to Tennessee, beat Murray, and somehow won at Texas,
and then we're five and six going into a little game again, I don't think it's going to happen.
But it would be kind of funny if it did.
I'm going to Austin.
Please let that be the scenario.
The 12 of us that are still going to sit in the UK section, we'll have a blast.
That would be funny.
Do we have time for one more?
We can do one more.
We'll do one more.
Who's next?
Luke.
Luke, go ahead, Luke.
Hey, I think that last guy needs to put down the pipe for a little bit, but I found a fascinating
stat.
Okay.
So, quarterback's to throw for 300 yards in the Stoops era in a game.
So it has only happened 17 times in now, what is this, his 13th season?
So we've had 17 times where a quarterback's thrown for 300 yards.
10 of those were against mid-majors, two of them were against the ACC,
and only five out of, I guess, 102 SEC games has quarterback thrown for 300 yards.
That is pathetic.
That is absolutely pathetic.
Well, that isn't good.
That's really good.
Five out of, yeah.
So let's see, this is, he's played 12 times eight, 102, five out of 102 times games that we throw him for 300 yards.
Yeah, that's not good.
Yeah, yeah, that's absolutely pathetic.
And my thing is, if we're going to stink, we might as well be fun and throw the ball 78 times a game
because at least it's fun to watch.
But it's just, it's really sad and it's just pretty unacceptable.
And I mean, I know firing him is off the table, but the thing you got to worry about with NIL is that this spirals that fans are like,
no, man, I'm not giving my money to that.
Yeah, that's my worry.
Yeah, my worry is the spiral.
You can have a bad ear, but my worry is the spiral.
And I think in NIL, I appreciate the call.
I think programs are going to be able to build to success quicker
and fall from success faster in the NIL era than they were before.
I think a team like Indiana, you can build a program like that quicker,
but a team like Alabama's got to be careful because you can fall faster.
And so, like, I don't want us to be one of the ones that fall.
