This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,

Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headlines.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our
podcast point game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm
looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying.
You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis
coming to him, he's like, you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

This is Clever Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, A, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Rhett, Mama, want you to weigh better.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Welcome back, hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio.
Stop.
I don't care if he's pointing at.
You're not.
Stop.
859-280, 2287.
The text machine is 772-774-5254.
We are here at the K-A, well, no, not KS-Barrn-Grew, we're at the Corman Marketplace.
with their Christmas season.
Remember,
Corman, full of people coming in here with listening to show
and came in, wanted to see the upside-down tree.
They got other stuff, too.
Go to Corman Marketplace.com online
or come out 25% off all day.
Somebody wrote on a text machine and said,
Matt, the Cynthiana Christmas tree in the 90s
was upside down for that very reason,
and people in Cynthia thought it was satanic.
Wow.
Well, so I guess they stopped doing that in McDonald's,
but thankfully I think it's come full circle and now they don't think it's that.
They're not satanic here.
Come get one, 25% off.
That's exactly right.
Let's do a couple things that I want to get to UK Bucknell.
First of all, you know, I mentioned the other day,
the drama, probably the drama that's sweeping the young people world
that a lot of people here would know is what's happening with the country singer,
Zach Bryant.
Have you, like, I shouldn't care about this because I don't even particularly like Zach
Brian's music, and I didn't even know who this other person was.
But it is kind of fascinating.
He was dating this woman, Ryan, named Brianna Chicken Fry.
Yeah.
Okay?
They broke up.
That happens.
Sometimes people break up, right?
She went on a podcast last night, and she said he offered me $12 million to sign an NDA to tell you I'll never talk about what happened when we dated.
$12 million.
She said, I turned it down because I think it's more important to be open.
Shannon's first reaction is
Give me $12 million
I'll never say another word
About anything
Anything I'll stop talking
I'll stop this show for $12 million
So I hear that
Here's a couple things I think
Number one
It's gonna be hard
Like
A heart you want me to sign $12 million
I won't even know
that I had a radio show
Right
Yeah you're with me
No but I mean
They're like
That's so
That's a lot of money
Second, the offer of $12 million, though, says to me she got something she could say, though.
Oh, yeah.
You know, I mean, $12 million is a lot of money, Drew.
If you offer somebody, now I'm assuming she's telling the truth.
I don't know if she's telling the truth.
But if she is telling the truth, $12,000 says to me, you really don't want her to talk, right?
Yeah, she knows a lot.
Probably has photos and videos, too.
Yeah, so that's the second thing.
So then last night, Zach Brine puts out an Instagram comment.
it's clear that dude's going through a lot of stuff i'm not trying to mock it but in the in the thing
one of the things he says is i'm quitting touring and going to france and getting my master's degree
now this is one of the biggest singers in america i mean this is a dude who sells out arenas
has played stadiums this is a dude like who a ton of people know his music younger women
especially like 40 under love it drew loves it um
He now says, I'm done.
I'm going to France and getting a master's degree.
Does that seem weird to you?
Could you imagine, like, Garth Brooks saying that in 1996?
My first reaction was, she made that up.
There's no way he offered $12 million, and she was going to turn it down.
But then you tell me that he's leaving the country.
She may have something to say.
He'd get in the heck out of the United States and going to go hide in France somewhere.
He said, I'm not touring.
He said, I'm done touring.
I'm just going to France.
Now, apparently, I don't follow.
I don't know.
apparently he said he's not touring in the past and then he comes back so he probably will but
the master's degree in france seems weird to me it's like i get you're one of the biggest music stars in the
world and you're just gonna like go to france well he told us it was coming i went saw him in march and his
tour was called it's quitting time and i have a shirt that says zach brian it's quitting time so it's
not like he wasn't 27 and he 28 it's not like he wasn't leaving us hints along the way it is bizarre
he's getting absolutely killed on the internet right now all right so then the other thing she said
last thing shana she said and again i don't know if any of this is true and i understand it's just it's
gossipy drama but what i mean we're not above it she said that he one morning she woke up and
she put on a morgan walling song like she woke up and she was like i want to play some music
turn off morgan wallen he came in and said you are not allowed to listen to any male country singer
that's not me wow in my house now
That seems very fragile.
Do you, would you be like that?
Would you be like if you were a big time singer and like Morgan Wallens, maybe your biggest rival go, you cannot listen to him?
No, I would say listen to whatever you want.
That does seem very egotistical.
And I think he's got something, well, obviously a lot to hide.
She's got something she could say maybe that would destroy his career.
Maybe.
Well, maybe that's why he's going to France.
So if you saw him at Bourbon and Beyond Fest just a couple of months ago, you saw maybe one of his last shows.
Maybe one of his last show.
So anyway, I wouldn't want my song.
I'd be like, will you play someone else other than me in my house?
I don't want to hear me.
I'm like that, too.
Like, I don't want to go back and hear myself.
I don't go back and watch my wrestling matches or even listen to this show after it's over.
So if your girlfriend's favorite show was like the Alan Cutler show.
I'm offended.
It was not, it was not KSR, but it was like, you know, I don't know, Terry Miners.
Even if you like the person, would you be like, you don't listen to my show, but you listen to their show?
Well, this is reality for me because...
Your girlfriend, not with my girl.
She loves to Alan Call her.
She'd rather listen to a podcast that's not this one than listen to me.
I understand that, but like she's listening to a podcast about the things she's interested in.
What if she listened to exactly what you do and pick the other person?
That's what I'm getting at.
Like, she may just not be interested in sports.
Fair enough.
But what if she's like, I could listen to you, Shannon?
I feel like...
Or like, what about the rock station?
She's like, I'm not going to listen to your rock station.
I'm going to listen to the other rock station.
This is all of my friends outside of this group right here.
All of my friends, I get in the car with them, you know,
and if I got a show that's pre-recorded, they're not listening to me.
They're listening to like the same music, but it's not me.
And I'm going, wait a minute here.
Like you're, you don't care at all that I'm on the radio.
Yeah.
So I just think, I think it's easy.
It'd be interesting to see like, Ryan, you are somebody who, let's say, you know,
when you're on television, if your girlfriend or wife was like,
I want to watch the sports report.
Let me turn on Rob Bromley.
It would hurt.
I mean, it would sting.
You know, we're both on at the exact same time.
The exact same thing.
And you're picking sexy Rob Bromley.
None of my friends.
It would hurt.
None of my friends are impressed with the fact that I'm on the radio.
They do not care.
They do before that.
They don't even listen.
Mine are like that, too.
But I do think, so look, I mean, it's clearly crazy that he said you can't listen to her.
But I do think if you put it.
closer to home to the thing you do.
And you said, what if my spouse or girlfriend liked someone else?
Not, music's a little different because you can like multiple people.
But with a radio show, I think it would be interesting to see how people would figure.
And like you said, there's a scenario you said she got up.
I mean, they were probably in bed together.
She gets out of his bed at his house and turns on Morgan Wallen.
Listen to his part over here.
He is.
He is.
Come on now.
Like, if it's, you're in a relationship.
I think I would be a little upset, too.
Well, you can like a lot of different music.
I'd just say my ex-girlfriend, my latest ex-girlfriend, she didn't like sports radio.
So that was fine.
Yeah.
But if I came in one day and she had on Dick Gabriel and she was like, this is where I get my sports news, I might be like, I don't know about this.
I don't get that jealous, because I know at the end of the night where she's going.
She's coming home.
Dick Gabriel's house.
She goes to Dick Gabriel's off.
We'll take a break.
No, we're not taking a break.
Who's next?
Who's next?
I think Cutter, it's just what I'm hearing.
Cutter will start, and Bo will be the backup.
I think they are hoping that they don't have to play Brock or Gavin Wimsett.
I see.
I just, you know, listen to your show.
I just never hear anything about Bo Allen.
He's, what, a junior now?
He's a senior, but, you know, when he transferred and went to the other school, correct
me if I'm wrong, did he play there?
Yeah, he did.
Tarleton.
He played a lot.
It did well.
Yeah, it was really good.
Yeah.
So he came back.
here because he and I think he knew when he came he probably when he came thought he'd be the
backup and then they went and got Gavin so he became third string and then I think with
cutter like if we were to be playing well I don't know if let's say appreciate the call
let's say we're playing Texas there's five minutes to go Gavin and Brock get hurt do you think
they're putting in cutter or do you think they're putting in Boe out Lexington Christian or Lexington
Catholic that's why it's so important they play gutter this weekend but not knowing
anything. I worry about
like Cutter's future if you just
throw him in at Texas, although they already threw
them in at Florida. Yeah, it didn't work very well.
But I mean, that was unfair to him. It's just
say, get up, and I haven't thrown a ball yet. Go throw
this hitcher out. But I'd be careful putting him
in tough situations. I think they probably
want to give him this game. I think
this game against Murray State
is a chance
for both UK to feel
comfortable with Cutter, Ryan, and Cutter
to feel comfortable with UK. Like,
I do think it's kind of like, okay,
Where's this relationship going game?
Do you think?
And I think this week and next week is maybe depending a lot of what Cutter's future does, is it UK?
You know, I think the fact they're going to let him get a lot of playing time, a lot of snaps may entice him to want to stay, you know, here longer than if he didn't play at all, I can see maybe looking around and going somewhere next year.
We don't need our last impression of him for the season to be that Florida game.
I agree.
Yeah.
So, yeah, it's good for him just for morale to get in there and have a game.
I think he'd be fine with me saying that.
Nick Coffey just wrote me, the Louisville host, and said, I told my wife.
after proposing to her that if I ever called her listening to Johnny the Freak Rinshaw,
the marriage was over.
That's a little Louisville radio.
A lot of people in Lexington won't even know who that is.
Who's up next?
Bert is up next.
Bert, go ahead, Bert.
His name is the freak.
Hey, Matt.
He was a freak.
It was out.
Go ahead.
Just a good question.
So, first of all, my wife and I are always wanted to attend one of your programs.
So we get to come in town to Lexington for the Jackson State game on the 20th.
second. Hopefully you'll be
Jackson State, 22nd. That's during
the week, right? Let me see where we are.
That's a Friday night. That's a Friday night.
So that Friday, we are at
Pelican, TechNop, Pelican
the IT company I do work for.
We're at that. So we are in Lexington, yes.
Okay, great. Appreciate that.
And, you know, just from a defensive
perspective, I'm really looking forward to this
game against Duke. I'm not trying to look past
back now, but I'm really looking forward to that game to see what we're at.
But, you know, just who do you think that we got that's going to be able to guard this
Cooper Flagg kid?
Because I've been watching him, and he's the real deal.
We have nobody that's going to be able to guard him, like, straight up.
But we do, I think, have a lot of options, Drew.
I think when we play Cooper Flag, probably Amari Williams might start on him,
but they're going to try a bunch of different kinds of people.
You know, even though they lose a lot in size, some of our guards will probably be on.
him a little bit, but he's going to be a tough defend for this. In many ways, Duke is the kind of
team that is built to give defenses like ours problems, which is why I'm so excited to watch
him play. Yeah, he's a tough matchup because he's got size, but he's very athletic. Like, I don't
think an Andrew Carr has a chance with him. No, he can't guard it. Williams alive, but I mean,
flag will play on the perimeter, too, so it's going to be a group effort. They also have a guard
that's projected top ten. I feel good about the backcourt defense. Nyple, nuple,
Nipple, however we pronounce it.
He's another good player that you got to factor.
He's a top 10 pick as well.
Duke has three guys who might go into top 10.
So, I mean, I'm with the call.
I cannot appreciate the call.
I cannot Ryan wait to watch the Kentucky Duke game.
I really am.
I'm excited.
I want that big game energy back at the bar for that game.
I'm really excited for people to go.
I'm just excited, though, to play a game.
It feels like we've had this with Rupp at a few games,
like when Auburn came in or Alabama, and it's felt like big energy.
But I can't think of the last time this fan base has been looking forward to a game outside of Lexington
like this since probably the game against Duke and Zion.
It has, man.
It's been a long time, but we're all excited to see what they can do.
You know, we mentioned about trying to guard Cooper flag.
I think with Amari.
We think Brandon Garrison will probably get a couple of shot.
At least he's athletic enough.
I think maybe you can body up with him out in the perimeter a little bit.
Yeah, we'll see.
It's going to be a lot of fun.
Shady Ray's.
I'm going to be wearing them on my drive to Chicago today. Shadyrays.com, premium polarized sunglasses.
I don't know if those are Shadyrays, but they should be. They are?
And even if they're not, that was a good lie. Shadyrays.com. They are. Okay, there you go. You go to Shadyrays in Louisville, Lexington, a Kentucky-based company. They've grown exponentially since they've been with us. Check out Shady Ray's. We are here at Corman Marketplace. The Christmas Spirit is here. We'll be right back. It's Kentucky Sports Radio.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it,
and we don't know when we've done enough.

Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?

Absolutely.

Life throws hurdles big and small.
The question is, how do you conquer them?
them. On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,
professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them
and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WMBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star
Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood
that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you,
but don't ever feel like you don't feel on. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ledecki.
The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.
At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world.
Like, I can do anything.
I can do anything.
Because resilience isn't just about winning.
It's about showing up, even when it's hard.

One person writes, Matt, I haven't been to a game.
Kentucky game since February of 2020.
That's, I guess, COVID.
And I've had this room in Atlanta booked since the day of the Mark Post Pope Press conference.
I think it's going to be a big blue awakening.
What if we win?
Like, when do we win that game?
What's our fan base going to be like?
We will be obnoxious.
I hope we are.
We will be unbearable.
We will be really obnoxious.
I hope that's Kirk Crease's big game, too.
I can just almost foresee there being some sort of scrap.
I mean, when's the last time we beat Duke in that minute?
been a while have we beaten them in the event one of the first ones i think i mean we lost
with zion if i'm not mistaken we have the worst record of the four teams because we're one and six
in our last seven but we beat them we beat them when did we beat him john wall didn't beat them
did poit thrus in that no did jamaul murray beat him jamaul murray did jamaul murray is the team
that the jamaul murray team i could be wrong about this core you should i think
Jamal Murray beat him.
I think that's the only time we've beaten them in this event.
I'll say this about Atlanta and that crowd.
Last year I went to UNC, Kentucky, in Atlanta.
And I know the year didn't go what we would like,
but that game had so much energy.
That felt like an old school game.
So I'm confident there'll be another crowd show up in Atlanta this year.
Or maybe it was Fox and Monk.
We lost in 14, but that was when Alex Poetters had that crazy game.
Yes.
Right.
Got his tooth on the net.
Yeah.
That was when we were just.
absolutely amazing.
We lost a Zion.
We lost a couple years ago.
Last time we played them.
So, yeah.
What was it?
Murray's year.
See, look at this.
It's still got a memory.
We've lost five out of six against the Duke.
That's just unexecutive.
We're going to win this year.
That's my view, and it's going to be very exciting.
One person writes, Matt, I'm so excited about Mark Pope.
Should we also send a thank you for John Calipari?
It does seem like he got out at the right time and that maybe he knew it was time to go on.
I think you should send a thank you to John Caliperi just for his general time here.
Let's not act like he was being generous exiting.
He tried to stay.
Yes.
He tried to stay.
And the more I learn about that situation, the more I thought the day it happened, he was still trying to stay.
Fast forward now, I can tell you it was a 95% chance he was trying to stay.
That timeline that went down where it got leaked on Sunday, or see, got leaked early on Sunday, got confirmed late on Sunday, but then no contract was signed.
That Monday, he was trying to stay.
He thought he was going to back Kentucky in a corner.
He thought Kentucky, in order to keep him, would build a new practice center, would allow Brad to be in a
assistant coach would allow him to basically force the way he wanted to do nil and then UK just said
no you broke your contract and they took no negotiating position they didn't just not been they were
like negotiations over and then he went outside and did the thing I mean it's not a coincidence
Ryan there were cameras standing out there when he walked his dog he went outside on the phone
the whole time of kind of a view of, this will make the fan base say we got to try to keep him,
and it didn't happen.
The fan base didn't say anything.
And UK felt at that point that their decision was right, and then on Tuesday he took the Arkansas job.
I really think he thought UK would bend over backwards to try to keep him, and I really think
he thought the fan base would be so, it would be a, you know, a mutiny if he was getting ready to leave.
I think he thought he had both those in his back pocket and neither happened.
And I also think on a personal level, I feel sorry for him in one respect.
I think he was hurt that none of those things happened.
Yeah.
I think he was, you ask people that know him, he was hurt that the fan base just said,
we kind of want you to go.
And I think part of the problem is there's a number of people he blames for that.
I think I'm one of them, but I think there are others.
And, you know, so I thank him for his time here.
Absolutely.
I thank him for all the joy he brought me over the years.
But I don't think, it's not like he bowed out gracefully.
He tried to keep that job, Drew.
That's just a fact.
Yeah, he made so many great moves over the year,
but I think he made a really bad one meeting with Arkansas in that hotel room.
His hubris finally got him on that one.
His hubris finally got him.
He did the one thing under his contract he couldn't do.
He could have met with Arkansas.
He just had to tell Mitch Barnhart.
And instead he met with Arkansas,
didn't tell Mitch Barton.
Hart Hart, and they took the position, your contract's violated.
Have you seen the details that came out not too long ago about that meeting where
the Arkansas AD had to go meet a guy on a Philly's hat who had a room key and whispered where
to go?
And it was like this whole, it was this whole sneaky thing.
So, you know, he was trying to make a move and it didn't work.
And Cal, I mean, kind of back Kentucky in the corner with the UCLA thing, right?
I mean, he got the lifetime contract out of that deal.
But he had leverage at that point.
He had leverage.
I don't mind that.
By the way, people criticize Mitch a lot.
Sometimes I think it's deserved.
A lot of times I don't, but I will say this.
It was, to use, excuse my language, a ballsy call to look at John Caliperi and say, no, you broke your contract.
You could have opened yourself up for a lawsuit, right?
There's a ton of stuff that could have happened, and he did, and it ended up working out for him, Ryan, and that was a gutsy call.
Yeah, I talked about that when the UCLA job.
He could not let Calipari leave at that time.
Could not.
This time, though, I think he took advantage of this, him meeting with the Arkansas and realized, okay, we need a change.
This is my opportunity to make a change.
I think the U.K. Athletic Department saw that news break on Sunday night and went, this got sent from the heavens.
I really do.
I really do.
Who's next?
Vicki is up next.
Vicki.
Go ahead, Vicki.
Howdy do?
Long time since last June, painting my fence.
Look at here.
I'm from Scythianna.
I'm the girl that likes to you know.
run out a little bit crazy when we win.
So when we beat Duke to Puke, I'll be out there on the highway,
running around naked.
So it's awesome.
Oh, I know where I'm going.
Yeah.
All right, wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
So you're telling me, hang on just a second, Vicki.
Vicki, you're telling me that if we beat Duke, you will go out on the road in
Cynthia naked running up and down the street.
Already out there, buddy.
I'm ready to go.
Let me tell you something.
Here's what happened.
I mean, I don't know.
I lived in Harrison County when I was a little child,
but I'm not up to date on the county laws,
but I would think public nudity is not encouraged in Harrison County.
Now, look at here, I'm down in the hollings, so, you know,
ain't nobody out there, but me and God and some birds and animals.
It's all good.
Don't worry.
All right.
There you go.
So I'm not asking you to send a video, but if you can, if you're,
Give your Snapchat.
No, no, Maggie.
I'm not asking.
I'm just saying maybe you can, maybe from an angle that doesn't show everything,
you could take a picture just to show that you did it if we win against, you will.
Okay.
Wow.
All right.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, just be careful.
The Biankis, Vicki, hang on.
You're going to take off your shirt and run around.
I'm not doing that, Vicki, but thank you.
The Biankis is a family establishment.
So please be careful if you decide to run around.
Hey, Bankees has a better best butterscotch pie you ever tried.
Amen.
So with that said, look here.
I've been thinking about this a long time.
Appreciate the call, Vicki.
I'm sorry, I've got to go break.
I like I said, it's not naked.
It's naked.
It's all you say it in Cynthia.
If we win Tuesday, Vicki's naked.
I'm going to Cynthia.
We'll take a break.
Be right back to KSR.
We're back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
859-2-80-2287.
Text machine, 772-75-25-4.
Kentucky is 2-9 since 19.
79 against Duke.
Wow.
Only two wins, 98 in the tournament and the Jabal Murray Champions Classic.
So all the more reason that we're going to win next Tuesday and reverse the curse.
You know, you mentioned that Alex Poitters game.
Remember that's when it came out, he was number one on the NBA draft board after that game.
Yeah, and didn't stay there, unfortunately, but he was.
Yeah.
Our pregame show for basketball tomorrow will start at 1.30.
Here's kind of a cool thing.
So I'm going to do the post-game show.
I'm actually not going to be on the pregame show,
but Ryan for KS Bar has produced an all-star group.
You've got Jack Pilgrim,
but you also have Sean Woods.
Yes.
And maybe, can I say maybe?
It's a, yeah, it's kind of.
Probably not.
Is it like a doubtful or like a maybe?
You told me maybe.
Maybe.
Now you're getting all squeamy.
Well, it's a maybe.
Percentage chance.
20.
That's not even a maybe.
You getting me excited for 20?
That's probably not.
But this person will come on the show, though, I think 100%.
But 20% they're there.
Yes.
So let me be honest with me.
Is there any chance they're going to be there?
Yeah, because I think he's coming to the restaurant to watch the game,
but he don't have to be there early enough to be on the pregame show.
Okay, so he will be there to watch the game,
but you're not sure if he'll be there for the play.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, at least we'll be on the show and possibly at the bar is World Series champion Walker Bueller.
tomorrow will be on the KSR pregame show.
So that's kind of cool.
But if you had told me 20% chance, maybe I wouldn't have teased it quite as much.
Because he came in here earlier today, just so you know, Shannon.
Oh, we did.
And I said, who'd you get to be on the pregame show with him?
He said, Sean Woods and Walker Bueller.
That's pretty definitive.
And now it's to 20%.
I don't know if he was just trying to get my hopes up.
It was a scoop or scuttle butt.
What are we doing here?
I said Sean Wood, Jack Pilgrim, and maybe Walker Bueller.
You put a lot more less emphasis on maybe when you told me that the first time.
All right, since basketball season has arrived,
and there are actually a lot of good college basketball games here this weekend.
I mean, it's going to get overshadowed in a lot of the other things.
But there are four pretty major games.
So I'm going to let each of us pick one of the games for our Draft Kings.
All you got to do is pick who's going to win because the spreads aren't out yet.
And draft kings will put it up.
This will be a college basketball draft king's parlay.
Now, this will not be part of it, but tonight, North Carolina plays Kansas.
North Carolina and Kansas, who do you think wins the game?
Kansas.
Are the Kansas dude still hurt?
If the Kansas guys are still not going to play, I go North Carolina.
I think all of them but one is part of the playing.
So you still going to go North Carolina?
Why not?
And it's at Kansas, right?
Yeah, it's at Kansas.
Okay, I go Kansas.
All right, thank you.
You might want to keep up.
What do you got there?
I got Kansas.
All right, so then I'm going to go with the other games for the weekend.
Let's start Arkansas and Baylor playing in Houston.
Who you got?
You know what?
I think I'm going to take Baylor in this one.
It's a home as early in the season.
Arkansas going on the road.
Could be a tough game for them in that environment.
No, I'm sorry.
It's in Dallas.
So Baylor and Arkansas and Dallas.
So it's a neutral game.
Well, now that's not.
I guess I'll still lean Baylor.
want to pick Arkansas.
I watched all of Baylor.
They looked terrible against Gonzaga, but I think they bounce back.
We've seen Baylor win a basketball game in Dallas before,
unfortunately against Kentucky, so I have Baylor winning.
Cal going 0-and-2 against Baylor in Dallas.
Baylor got waxed by Gonzaga.
I don't think they're very good.
I'm going to go Arkansas.
All right, but we got to pick one for the pick.
Which one are we doing?
So that's you.
Two, yeah.
I'm going to take it.
Baylor, come on.
No, but the best thing to do early in the season in gambling is do the bounce back.
People overreact to the one week and then forget it the next week.
That's why you pick Baylor.
Tennessee goes to Louisville.
Just who wins the game.
Tennessee making the trip to Louisville.
Pat Kelsey is walking the streets, right?
He might walk in here and ask people to come to the game.
Tennessee and Louisville, who you got?
I'm going to say nobody's going to be at that game.
It's not going to be much of a home court advantage for them.
This is the lesser of the two evils here.
I think I'm taking Tennessee.
All right.
Two reasons I like the valls.
The crowd will suck.
and Zichai Ziegler is in his 19th year of college basketball.
He's still playing.
Wow.
Tennessee's going to be really good.
Ziegler is still at Tennessee.
Ziegler's back.
I remember sitting on my grandfather's lap watching Zichai Zingler.
I cannot believe he's still there.
All right, go ahead.
What do you got?
Tennessee, I think it's going to be really good this year.
So I go Tennessee.
I'm going to actually go Louisville.
I think, first of all, I think, let me just say this to your fan base.
If you don't show up for this one, I'm giving up on you as a fan base.
If you don't show up for this one, but I actually think they're going to go.
They're going to win.
I'm already expecting my mentions to be blown up with Edit Matt,
but you all collectively say Tennessee, so our pick for this will be Tennessee.
And then late at night tomorrow night, the game to watch is you're falling asleep.
Auburn and Houston playing at Houston.
Auburn won by like 70 points in their first game.
They play at Houston.
What do you got?
I don't know who Auburn played in that game, but it wasn't probably anybody to the caliber of Houston.
being at Houston early in the year.
Don't know a whole lot about these two teams.
I think home court advantage means a lot, so I'm taking Houston.
I'm going Houston.
They had similar scores in the first game.
Both of them.
Stats are kind of similar, too.
I'll just take Houston to win a close one.
Houston's been one of the best teams in the last five years.
I mean, they've been a really, really good program.
I'm taking Houston.
Well, I'll go with the masses, but I'm actually taking Auburn to win on the road.
I think Auburn is really good.
I think Auburn's going to be – I think there's a good chance that Auburn, Alabama,
are two of the three best teams in the country,
and they're in the same state,
and they're both football schools, which is crazy.
And then I guess let's finish with a football one.
Alabama at LSU.
Alabama, this is weird to me,
is a two and a half-point favorite in Death Valley.
Who you got?
I think I'm taking LSU in this one.
Alabama has struggled,
but they're playing, though,
for their football playoff chances.
What seed were they?
This is an elimination game.
The loser of this is out.
So this is basically, and the winner may not be in,
but the loser is out of the playoffs.
I think were the 11.
But anyway, I think LSU wins this game.
I love LSU getting points in Death Valley at night.
No care who the opponent is.
If LSU is at home in a night game and they're getting points, I'm taking them.
I don't think I would ever pick against LSU at night, at home, so I'm going to LSU.
Something's weird about this game.
I don't understand why Alabama is a favorite.
LSU is just as good, if not better.
They are at home at night, which is maybe the best home court advantage in all the football.
LSU at night.
I do not understand why they're 2.5.0.
underdog.
So that worries me.
They're bringing out a live tiger.
They haven't done a live tiger the first time in like 13 years.
Really?
And Livy Dunn and Paul Skeens are actually the game day pickers.
I'm taking LSU to win, but I'm a little worried about it.
LSU struggles with mobile quarterbacks.
So I think the thought process there is Milro could have a huge game.
So LSU, Baylor, Tennessee, and what was our other one?
Houston.
LSU Baylor, Tennessee, and Houston are our KSR Parlay.
You can bet it starting later this afternoon.
Who's next?
Mike is up next.
Mike, go ahead, Mike.
Hey, guys, Mike from Louisville.
Thanks for taking my call.
Having drinks last night with a friend up here in Louisville,
and he pointed out the obvious fact that Kentucky and Louisville are in the exact same
place for probably the first time of history and basketball program.
That's not true.
I proposed a bet to him.
That's not true.
By the way, Louisville's not the same place we are.
Louisville fans want to tell themselves that.
Louisville is one.
eight games, six games in the last two years.
They are not in the same place we are, but go ahead.
But, but I mean, the point being that they both have new coaches,
they both have a totally new team,
they both have the same win record with those coaches, 1 and 0.
That was the point, not that they're in the same place.
So I proposed to bet for five years,
who would have the better record and who would have the most NCAA wins.
And so, of course, I took QK, he took Q.
Vell, what do you think my chance is up?
Well, he's wrong.
I mean, look, I think Louisville's going to be a lot better, but just take the
rosters this year.
Our roster is significantly better than theirs.
Now, that doesn't mean they won't be good.
I think they can be a tournament team, but like our roster is better than theirs.
Now, I will say this, and I appreciate the call.
I was thinking about this last night when I was doing ESPN.
You remember how 15 years ago we looked at the ACC as the best conference by far,
and we kind of thought we were in the Stinky Conference, that's flipped.
The SEC is significantly a better conference than the ACC.
I want you to name for me right now the best teams in the ACC.
Who's the best team in the ACC?
Duke.
Who's second?
North Carolina.
Now tell me somebody else that's going to be good.
I'm not even sure North Carolina is going to be good, but tell me somebody else it's going to be good.
Elon was tied with North Carolina late in that game.
Virginia is going to be bad.
Syracuse is bad.
Miami's going to be down from where they've been.
Florida State's going to be bad.
Actually, one of the better teams is going to be Clemson.
Clemson is...
They had a big year last year.
They did well in the portal.
So Clemson is probably the third best team.
We're going to go into Clemson in a few weeks.
We are projected to be the eighth best team in the SEC.
And I'll tell you this.
Unless Duke runs us off the court, we're going to be favored at Clemson.
And they're the third best team in their conference, and we are allegedly the eighth best team in ours.
So maybe Louisville wins more games, Ryan, because the ACC is not what we think of as the ACC.
Yeah, for a long time, the SEC was viewed as kind of being down a little bit.
But, boy, I'll tell you, it is loaded, especially this year.
There's a lot of good teams in the SEC this year.
The top 25 has nine SEC teams in it.
Nine SEC teams and eight Big 12 teams.
Wow.
I mean, that's the other one.
What is football?
Like, you don't think about the Big 12 as a good conference, but three of the teams.
but three of the top five preseason teams in the country are in the Big 12.
Now Arizona's into Big 12.
Cincinnati's into Big 12.
The Big 12 is actually not a great football conference, but has become a really good basketball conference.
Tell me about Stockton Morton.
You know, let's say you want to buy your sweetie new house for Christmas.
Well, Stockton Mortgage can help you.

Stockton mortgage can help you.

Reach out, give them a call.
Go to the website, Stockton.com, NMLS, 8259, Equal Housing Lender.
Auburn, who they beat by, they were up 73 points against Vermont who made the tournament last year.
They're not making a tournament this year.
Well, if they do, then we're really in trouble if they're that much better.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.

It looks like there's some breaking news.
We don't know the detail, so I won't say it.
But it looks like Drew Florida could be looking for a new basketball coach at some point.
Todd Golden things on Twitter.
a good look for Todd Gold.
Yeah.
Just, you can read it in your spare time.
It's, it's, you know, we'll learn more about it before we talk about it,
but it doesn't look good for the, for the Florida basketball coach.
I have more breaking news.
Okay.
Zach Bryan just added two shows in Salt Lake City the first week of December.
Maybe we could go in plus together.
Nice.
Wow.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
The sixth and seventh.
We're there on the sixth.
Yeah, we're there on the six.
So there we go.
We can get to the bottom of this.
We could do some reporting live on the scene.
The quitting time tour are still going.
Not quitting time yet.
But he just said he was quitting to go to France.
14 minutes ago, adding new dates.
Maybe he wants to see us.
He was probably listening.
Dude, that guy.
Yeah, something.
That guy's, well, who knows?
Jelly Roll is playing in Lexington tonight.
Tonight.
Yeah, anybody going to that tonight?
You guys going?
All right, good.
I saw him.
It feels like he was just here.
Wasn't he just here?
Like a year or two years?
What?
Well, he was here like a, yeah, I went.
Within the last two years.
Yeah, so he wasn't that long ago.
So he's here again.
Seems like a really nice guy.
If you go into the concert, you can come by the bar before we're going to be playing jelly roll hits all night.
I only know that.
I really enjoyed him there.
I went and knew one of his songs.
Didn't really think I'd be a fan.
But met him, we talked for like 15 minutes.
He couldn't have been nicer, so I'm a jelly roll fan.
You came back after meeting him.
Like, the dude is awesome.
We had a great time.
In all seriousness, with this job, I've gotten to meet a bunch of cool people.
he I didn't really know much about him but I'm not
knowledge is there not a nicer person I've never talked to somebody
famous who was that engaged you know what I mean
Shannon like that like really wanting to hear what you had to say
seems to be like a genuine guy that's the story that you hear from everybody
I think he liked that none of us knew who he was and so that probably helped
there's also kind of a cool little Kentucky tie and his drummers from Mount
Washington Kentucky oh from Bullet Camp okay well that is
I wanted Shannon your take as soon as I saw the story I meant to talk
about yesterday it just felt like a Shannon story what do you think about the 43 monkeys that are
on the loose in South Carolina there's a testing facility at first they said 43 monkeys were out
just wanted you guys to know don't worry about it happened and then they came out yesterday and they were
like all right lock your windows yeah there was like it's almost like maybe we need to tell
you that these are not the most fun monkeys to be spending time around were they being tested or
something they were a monkey lab they were a monkey lab okay
I think there's a movie about this.
Call it 28 days later.
You know how that ended?
Everybody turned into zombies.
So I am a little bit worried about this.
Yeah.
But it was interesting to me because at first the authorities were like, it's fine.
Monkey see monkey do.
But then afterwards, like this last time they were like,
lock your door, your South Carolina, close your windows,
don't let the monkeys climb around your bed.
So what are we going to do?
Are we going to catch these monkeys?
Or how do you do that?
They're using infrared to find the monkeys.
I was reading about that.
What's the town in South Carolina?
I'm not sure.
But you're right.
The second update was like, we need you to fasten all doors and windows.
It's a little more concerning.
What's going on here?
It feels like they didn't tell you something in the first update.
Because the second update was much more urgent than the first update was.
It was.
Drop straight home.
Get your kids out of school.
Where is this that again?
South Carolina.
I don't think they can get all the way up here.
They're getting closer.
I think they'd have to drive a car.
Do we throw them in a barrel?
How do we lure them in?
That's right.
I learned that you can do that.
Who's next?
Maddie is up next.
Maddie, how are you, Maddie?
Hey, guys.
First time one time.
Who are?
What's up?
I just had two quick things.
First off, I met you guys, like two years ago at a E.K.U.
Western, like, pre-show kind of thing at E.K.U.
I remember that, yes.
Yeah, I talked to Ryan about my brother, Jalen Dorsey, who plays for Western.
He'll walk on from Berea.
And me and Ryan just kind of, you know, hit it off.
We kind of text on Twitter every now and then and even talked about one direction one time.
And I know we like to give Ryan a hard time, but the other day I did him asking him where his Keith Whitley shirt was from.
And he actually offered to send it to my boyfriend who was asking about it.
So that just kind of goes to show, like, Ryan is like such a good guy.
He's a wonderful guy.
I mean, he is a goofball and can be frustrating.
there's not a nicer person than Ryan Lemon in the United States.
And, you know, if I had a, if this is a true story,
if I had to have something in a jiff besides my parents,
Ryan would be the first one I would call because he would drop anything to help
almost anybody.
And so you do deserve those accolades.
Well, I appreciate it, man.
Try to be that way.
Try to be that person.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now, if you would just like keep your shirt on and like read the news and
some things before the show. He gives and takes
us away. Yeah, like to understand what's
happening. Yeah, exactly right. He giveeth and he
take it the way. But his
giveth is being kind. Thank you very
much. Appreciate the call. Who's next?
Paul and Minnesota's next.
Paul and Minnesota. How are you?
Hey, Matt. I'm doing
awesome. Hey, you and
the mireen are going to make my week. I'm heading
down to Chicago tomorrow morning
for my daughter's soccer games.
And I just happen to have
Sunday morning free. So I
I'm going to head down and meet you all.
Oh, that's awesome.
Thank you very much.
Yeah, long-time listener, and Myron's up a Minnesota guy like me,
so I can't wait to meet you guys.
Well, I will enjoy meeting you, but it's also you're doing us a favor,
because I'm like, if you send us there, somebody will come.

Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite, unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends,
me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an acapella band
with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
The story I've told myself can then shape my behavior, and that can lead me to sabotage the possibility of connection.

And I'm CJ Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast, Point Game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my greatest
playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was calling it. You just understood.
That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming to you. He's like,
you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get you,

The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations

wants you to wave at her.
