Welcome back. It is our number two, Techie Sports Radio. Let me tell you something. Don't get people
worked up about their NyQuil and their mucinex and their suit of fed. Text machines blown up
with comments. I'm going to do the best job I can of explaining something. These words are too hard to
reach. Okay. Let's hear it. Okay, but
the pseudafed
that you get where you have to
talk to the pharmacist.
Okay. Yeah. It's okay. Okay.
That works. It's the
over-the-counter
pseudof-fed, which is the
stuff you can just go up and grab. It's
P-H-E-N-Y-L-E-P-H-R-I-N-E.
That's what doesn't work. Okay. Oh, that makes sense now.
But if you go to the acetya, is that
acetaminophon?
the acetaminophen works, it's the fuss of blah, blah, blah, that doesn't work.
I'll make sure I don't get that one.
Just make sure that that's the one you understand doesn't work.
Got it.
So if I see a word that I cannot pronounce.
And it starts with a P.
Don't get that one.
Then don't get that one.
But the other one, then you're okay to do.
All right, 859-28027.
I told you, we talked a little bit this week about tonight on the Netflix and at the KS bar is Jake Paul
Mike Tyson.
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, I kind of think this fight is bogus, but that's okay.
You know, it may not be real, but it's kind of interesting to me.
Mike Tyson took his shirt off and was in his underwear for some reason yesterday.
Didn't really understand why.
A weigh in?
Yeah, but did he need to wear his underwear?
Do we need that specific a weight?
You got to get a really?
Yes, you do.
Yeah, you don't want to have heavy clothes on.
Well, I mean, the other dude was wearing pants.
Yeah, well.
He was afraid to stand next to Mike Tyson.
But he was sitting out there.
He's a little skimpy for me.
But nevertheless, he smacked.
He smacked Jake Paul in the face.
I mean, I don't know if that was real or not, but you know what?
I'm going to watch it.
We're going to have it at KS Bar.
I may even stop down there and go.
I've been working on my right and left hand to get ready just in case.
My right wrist is a little still sore, so I don't know if I'm able to punch anybody.
But this was one of my favorite things I've seen in a long time.
Okay, you remember I told you that my favorite book of the Bible is Ecclesiastes, right?
A big part of Ecclesiastes is sort of saying, you know, no reason to have ego because we're all.
all going to, we're all going to die. And ultimately, the whole point is to believe in God.
There's no reason to worry about manly, or, you know, earthly things, etc. So, so Mike,
so Mike Tyson decides he might like Ecclesiastes too. You know, he's been going through a lot
of meditation and apparently he's changed himself and I'm for all this. But a little kid
comes up to him and says, hey Mike, you're an inspiration. What do you think your legacy will be?
Now this is like a 12 year old girl.
And, you know, I'm all for Ecclesiastes, but she's 12.
So here was Mike Tyson's answer.
Go ahead.
Well, in your return to the ring for this fight,
you are setting a monumental opportunity for kids my age to see the legend,
Mike Tyson, in the ring for the first time.
What type of legacy would you like to leave behind when it's all set and done?
Well, I don't know.
I don't believe in the word legacy.
I think that's another word for ego.
That's just some word everybody grabbed on to.
I was used every five seconds.
It means absolutely nothing to me.
I'm just passing through.
I'm going to die, and it's going to be over.
Who cares about a legacy after that?
What a big ego song.
I'm going to die.
I want people to think that I'm this.
I'm great.
No, we're nothing.
We're dead.
We're dust.
We're absolutely nothing.
Our legacy is nothing.
Well, thank you so much for sharing that.
great response
that's one of the funny
this comes up and says Mike
what do you what do you want your legacy to mean he's like
I'm going to die
we're all just going to die
and we're going to be dust and the kid
well thank you
never heard anybody respond like that before
I love that no matter if it's a little kid
or a 70 year old man asking the question
Mike Tyson's going to give you the same answer regardless
is he had
Drew, he had no regard for the fact that this was a little child
who had such a sweet, excited look on her face.
I can't even play the next sentence.
He then responded, Cust, and said, look, we're just going to die.
And like almost yelled.
It was amazing.
Well, Mike Tyson could be Mike Tyson.
I mean, that's the guy we want him to be, especially leading into this fight.
The best part of that, though, was by far the kids react to the end.
Like, well, thank you for your time.
You know what it remind me of?
Who didn't it remind you of?
Oh, Shane Batty.
Shane Batti.
That's what it reminded me.
Well, that's great.
That's...
Now, that kid's scarred for life.
Yes, that reminded me of Shane Batti
during the draft that year.
The whole time I'm listening to that,
I'm picturing this little 12-year-old girl
and this massive man.
I've not seen the video.
I've not seen the video.
She's this little girl,
and she's, like, dressed up beautifully,
and she just looks so happy.
And if you're the interviewer, where do you go after that?
Like, what's the next question after that?
I think he just end the interview.
It's over.
Therapy?
Yeah.
I think that's where she's.
I think that's where she's going.
So Mike Dyson doing his thing.
By the way, Jake Paul's clearly going to win, right?
In a decision, it'll be controversial.
It'll go the distance.
And they'll have a rematch.
Eight rounds.
I don't know about a rematch, but they'll go eight rounds.
It'll be a decision.
But he's going to win, right?
Yeah, I mean, this is his production, right?
It's his Netflix deal.
I don't think on Draft Kings you can bet.
You can in Kentucky.
Not in Kentucky.
Because it's not real.
I want to bet it.
You mean the guy that went bankrupt last year that's fighting a YouTube star?
That's not going to be a real.
I would bet a lot on Jake Paul, but it'll be at KS Bar tonight.
I think the walkout time for the fight is 11,
but we'll start having stuff at 8 if you guys are interested.
The other thing, for those of you in Louisville,
let me give you a cool event tonight
that you might not even know is happening
that if you don't have anything to do is a cool thing to do.
Okay, I'm talking college wrestling.
When I say college wrestling,
what's the school that comes to me?
mind. Iowa. It's the only school I know that's good at wrestling. They won like 50 national
championships. Well, you may not know this. They are wrestling a match tonight at Bellarmine.
Oh, wow. Belerman is hosting Iowa tonight at 7 o'clock. The team that wins the national
championship every year, they're coming to Iowa and the coach, the guy that led all those
national champions will be there. I'm not sure how it happened exactly that I was playing a
road game at Bellarmine.
But they are.
So if you're at all into kind of seeing the best of college sports tonight at
Bellarmine, Iowa will be wrestling against Bellarmine.
I would not have one time thought that Iowa would be wrestling here in Louisville against
Bellarmine.
I have no interest in it, but just you saying that, you're saying that makes it kind of
like, well, you know, you get a chance to see one of the greatest of all time.
You know, like when I wanted to see the Dallas Cowboys one time.
Just to see I saw them live one time play the Bengals.
I would say I was a little better than the Dallas Cowboys.
I mean, Dallas Cowboys haven't won a playoff game in a long time.
So kind of cool for the people who like, if you like college wrestling,
I'm not sure you're going to find a better thing than that close by here.
Even if you don't know a lot about it, no anything to do.
The powerhouse like that's coming through.
I'm with you, though.
I'm amazed how Bellarmine got it.
I can get them going to Iowa, but getting Iowa coming to you, that's a big match.
Being my alma mater, I think this is awesome.
And the promotional giveaway that they're doing tonight,
Every time a Bellarmine Knight secures a pen, they give away free tickets to louder than life or bourbon and beyond to somebody in the crowd.
Wow.
I think that's kind of cool.
But are they going to get any pins?
Aren't they going to get rocked?
No.
Go nights.
Let's go.
Come on.
Well, good luck.
One other thing before we go to the phones, I don't know if you saw this.
So there's a quarterback that's from the state of Michigan that's trying to decide to go where to college.
And I think he's committed to LSU.
I could be wrong about that.
but I think it's LSU.
And boosters at Michigan understandably want to keep him at Michigan.
And apparently they raised, according to reports, $10.5 million have offered the kid $10.5 million to spend his,
he has to spend his entire career at Michigan to get the $10.5 million.
A story, a report came out yesterday that he had turned it down, okay, that he had turned down $10.5 million.
But he claims his recruitment still open and he's choosing between.
LSU of Michigan. He then put on his Instagram story the report that he had turned down
$10.5 million, which of course would make you think that it's true. And he puts it out there
and then 10 minutes later deletes it. Probably I would think, Ryan, because his agent said,
why are you saying you turned it down? We're trying to get whatever we can. But it was
kind of interesting about the new world of college football. He put out the report.
that said he was not taking money, you know, you would have never seen anything like that before.
That's what I'm going to say, how quickly the agent, after he saw that, quickly called him,
telling him to take that down.
Your job is trying to get him as much money as possible.
If I was his agent, I'd be furious in putting that out like that.
Do you think any high school quarterback would be worth?
Because one of the things you have to remember now is colleges are going to have,
they're splitting $22 million, but the cost of scholarship.
So really they're splitting 20 million.
Most schools are choosing to give football between 70 and 90%.
So that means you're going to be given like one eighth of your salary to a quarterback who might not even play his first couple years.
Would you want to do that?
No, and this is going to be a bad example since they just beat Kentucky.
But Nico at Tennessee, I don't remember the exact number, but it was gigantic.
And he's fine and he'll be good.
But I just feel like you could go to a portal and hope you get a Diego.
pavier or something and save some money to use everywhere else. I think that's overpaying for someone
coming out of high school. And by the way, I said this a long time ago. It is a story to watch
is how colleges decide to distribute that money that they have to give. The story I saw yesterday
said pretty much all of the big colleges are spending 70% on football, but some are spending up to
90%. And that's a big difference between 70 and 90%. And then you're at Kentucky
basketball, how much is Kentucky basketball going to take? You would think it will take more.
And then if you're Duke or Kansas, do you just say, forget about football? We'll just give it to
basketball. And then you've got women's basketball over there. You've got baseball over there.
It's going to be interesting. Schools are going to choose, Ryan, which sports. They're going to have to
choose which sports they focus on. And Kentucky's a, that's a great example, because obviously basketball is kind of the number
one story, but yet your football team competes in the SEC.
And if the other SEC schools are getting 80, 90% the money for that?
Vandy.
You know, does Vandy want to make their baseball team the best baseball team in the country?
They have historically been very good.
Do you just decide, well, we'll give 20% to baseball and we'll be better than every team in the country?
Baseball and bowling.
That's their best chance at winning in national titles.
That's where they won.
Bowling in I.L.
Yeah.
Baseball and a Palling and I.
Probably doesn't take much to be good at bowling in I.
Who's up next?
Gretchen is next.
Gretchen.
How are you, Gretchen?
Gretchen.
Oh, that's too bad.
I don't remember ever having a Gretchen.
I was excited about that.
Who's next?
No, try it again.
Okay, go ahead, Gretchen.
Hey there, first time, long time.
Who are?
What's up?
I'm a pharmacist, and I wanted to put BBN's mind of the decongestant debacle.
Okay.
Okay, go ahead.
So the FDA proposal is to remove fennel effron, which is only one certain decongestant.
It has been shown to be possibly effective, but there are no questions about safety.
And so it is one ingredient in a few over-the-counter decongestant products, but most of them
are still shown to be very effective.
So it's just specific pseudofed product,
like your pseudofed PE,
mucinex, sinus max.
The most important thing to do
would be check the label,
and if it has phenyl ephrine,
you're going to want to make another choice.
There you go.
No, fennel effer.
That was the one that I couldn't pronounce.
What you said, though, right?
I feel like I said that,
but maybe I didn't.
It's going to get a second opinion.
Regardless, though, that's exactly right.
We need second opinions.
Gretchen, I appreciate you.
you bringing actual information as opposed to our drivel on the show.
Anytime.
All right, there you go.
But see, I didn't know.
The thing is, I didn't even know that.
I just assumed all these things worked, and there you go.
Don't take the ones with the fennel effort.
There you go.
Yeah.
Who know we were buying placebo products the entire time?
Maybe we are on a lot of stuff.
You never know.
Who's next?
Got Poe up next.
Poe, I just got about a minute.
Go ahead.
Okay, guys.
How are you all doing?
doing today. Doing good. Go ahead. Good. The real Nike wheels right there with Kentucky
bourbon at the whiskey tea. All right? I'm a member of I'm a member of the oldest camel
society myself sometimes. You're the town drunk. Is that just mean you like to drink?
Every now and then. Maybe this morning, for instance. Join the party. No, I wish I was there with you guys.
Anything else?
My thing is, yeah, my thing is, I just got a minute.
Now I probably got 36.
I just got a minute.
Okay.
Yeah, I'll use Kentucky as a platform.
How many players, pro players, did he have before he come to Kentucky?
He had a bunch.
I know he had the Q unicorns, Marcus Camby.
Yeah, he had Derek Rose and he had Tyreek Evans, and he, you know, he had, give him
credit he had a few yeah but not near as men yeah well and uh Kentucky football
give them a break man that they had starting a year out and we didn't know South
Carolina and Vanney was going to be that good either and uh Florida's improved and they're
scheduled to start of the year we can't excuse though we can't excuse I mean we got blown off the
field by South Carolina and I appreciate the call we got blown off the field by Florida we lost it home
to Vandy. We lost it home to
Auburn. I'm not excusing all that by
they're better. You got to compare
us to them
and we need to be as good as them. We can't just be
like they got better. We got to get better too.
I'm not going to... I mean, we lost 31 to
7 to South Carolina.
That's not the same. Tell me about Stock to Mortgage.

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-2802287.
Here at Whiskey Thief, out on Nanny Goat Strut, behind, uh,
but right next the walking distance from Angels Envy and the rabbit hole distillery,
a little mini distillery district here in Louisville.
You can give a shout 859-280-2287.
One person writes, Matt, this is clearly an Ohio State fan.
Don't you think, my name's Brent the Buckeye, how's BBN going to react to losing to Ohio State on national TV again?
We won't care.
Ohio State, you don't matter in basketball, just so you know.
Like, you don't matter.
We care about the Duke game, care about the Louisville game.
This year care about Arkansas, we care about Tennessee.
We want to beat Ohio State, but you know how many seconds we think about Ohio State basketball?
Zero.
The only thing interesting about Ohio State basketball this year is Aaron Bradshaw's on the team.
Otherwise, we want to win.
We should win because I think we're better, but I don't think B.B.N. is sitting there going,
when's the last time we beat Ohio State basketball?
We don't think about.
My only Ohio State basketball thought is the ringing sound of George throwing the ball off Jared's talking.
That is my only Ohio State basketball.
State basketball.
Yeah, we don't think about it at all.
All right, so I got a question for everybody in here.
Let me ask you a question.
Somebody asked who are favorite player this year is on the team.
I actually think this is going to be interesting because I think the answers may be all over the place.
So let's see.
How many of you, I'm just going to run through the starting lineup, if you had to vote your favorite player,
how many of you would say Otega Owe?
Oh, wow, that's a lot.
That's more than that would thought.
Let's do Lamont Butler.
All right, no votes for Lamont Butler.
One guy, okay, one guy.
Jackson Robinson.
Probably not the day to ask.
You got him.
Probably not the day to ask after he lost that game,
after we didn't play well.
Andrew Carr.
Got two Andrew Carr fans.
Amari Williams.
Wait, I can't be the only one.
Drew is the only Amari Williams, man.
Okay.
Kobe Brea.
Got three Kobe Brea fans.
Okay.
I think this one's going to be a lot.
uh kirk risa yeah i might have to go on that way yeah i was going between him and
travis perry for me i like them both okay a little better in here uh brandon garrison got one
brandon garrison fan got a boy uh Colin chandler all right and then i'm not letting you pick trit
knowing Travis perry because they don't play enough so what's interesting is by thought with who
Anzley Almanor
But Mario raises his hand.
Mario and Marsha.
All right, so it's interesting there to me.
Most popular player on the team
early on in the year, Ryan, Otega Owe,
who I bet nobody would have thought that going
in the season, second most popular Kirk Creaser.
Yeah, if you did this a month ago before Midnight Madness,
we thought Kobe Brand was probably going to start at the two.
Otega has that job.
That is his job.
And he is my favorite player because the guy does everything.
I think it's the way he plays, Drew.
I think people like the fact he kind of, he hustles, he's able to, it feels like he gets more out of his talent than anyone on the team.
And then, you know, he plays with such energy.
I thought he was going to be the sixth man.
And now he seems like almost the most indispensable guy on the team.
We just play better when he's in.
Yeah, and I wasn't surprised by the hands raised here because I went to both exhibition games and the games at Rupp.
And you can just hear people yelling his name on the way out.
those rapid reactions and people just want to come up and talk about, I'll tell you, O.A.
I think it's because his name didn't come up that much in the summer compared to the others,
and he's been the most consistent throughout the exhibition.
So knowing he's the favorite player, Shannon, what do we think about this for the student section?
Don't we have to get the student section to do the chant, away, away, away, away, away.
Oh, yeah.
Away, away, away.
Don't we have to do that?
I think so, yeah.
I mean, we've been looking for a chance.
We've been looking for something for a long time.
Right?
So while he's here, I think it's something we can grab onto and do.
I'm going to ask the student section nicely.
Like, this can be your thing.
This should be your thing.
Like, do the away, way, way, away.
I saw somebody on TikTok.
There's a group of frat guys that were doing it.
It's a good idea.
I'm not saying it's my idea.
It's not.
But just do it.
I think it's like that could be our thing, Drew, when he plays.
He's already our most popular player.
That's what we need to do.
That's much better at my idea.
I was going to have them seeing come sail away, but that's not.
No, no, no, that's not.
Yours is much better.
Come sail away.
So do it.
Student section.
Away, away, away.
You got this.
That'll be our thing.
If it becomes a thing like it, the national media, I know what national media likes.
They'll like it.
Yep.
Do it.
And then what if like maybe it catches on in the entire arena is doing it?
The entire arena is doing it.
The blue hairs are doing it.
It becomes like a huge fun thing.
Yeah.
Let's make it happen.
Who's up next?
Ryan is next.
Ryan, go ahead, Ryan.
How are you doing, man?
I'm just like you.
I thought it was a bad hire.
I had no idea.
I thought that for like 20 minutes.
Give me a break, but go ahead.
No, I'm talking about myself.
I did not think he was a good hire.
I did not think he was a good hire.
I thought he should have went after
with Old Man Pitino or Bush Pearl,
but I was totally wrong.
And I had to give it to Mitch Barnhart,
Not only did he get Coach Pope, you got Coach Brooks.
And one thing about Tyson.
Tyson was a great fighter, and a little history about him, I'll make it real quick.
Gus Tama, his wife, adopted Mike Tyson when he was 12,
and he had a guy named Rooney that trained him.
And after Gustamata died and Rooney quit, or he fired him, he kind of went downhill.
But he was a hell of a fighter.
I wanted to see him fight big George Foreman, but he never.
did but uh man i forget i got to get but he gets to fight of youtube start tonight it's almost the same
as george for it's like the same as so sorry he's a paul brother we're going to take a break
eight five nine two eight oh twenty ten at two eighty seven makes a predictions and
uk women play louisville this weekend two top 20 teams ksr welcome back it is kettgy sports
radio rick your um your music choices always amused me it's like most of your music choices are
70s and 80s but you love to throw in the lumeniers Rick are you a lumineers fan yeah I like the
luminaires do you go ahead and go you like to go see them well if they were around I probably would
see him yeah okay anything that's good to listen to while you're drinking wine I feel like it's what
we get from I like the lumineers yeah that's a good wine drinking group right Tyler Childers
Tyler Childers announces he's going to play croger field in April you know pick packing croaker
Field 60,000 people for a concert.
Chris Stapleton did it, but not many people have tried to do it.
I mean, Tyler, Tyler literally was playing a brewery a few weeks ago with us.
It used to play, you know, bars in Lexington.
Do you think he can pack Kroger Field in April?
If there's a couple guys that could do it, it's Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers.
Those are the two guys that could do it.
The Chapleton concert was such a huge success led to one of the reasons why they had agreed to have alcohol at
Krogerfield because of how it was handled at that stadium that night.
Childers sold out Rupp Arena back-to-back night.
So, I mean, that's 40,000 people right there.
I hope, I'm going.
I think it'll be awesome, but are you, that's a lot of people.
Yeah, artists are doing that all the time now.
I went and saw Luke Holmes did back-to-back at the Bingle Stadium.
It was full both nights.
I was at Tyler at New Year's Eve last year.
There's people with their back against the wall at the top.
I think he won't have any problem feeling.
I mean, Luke Combs, I don't like Luke Combs, but like, he's a massive star.
I'm just saying football stadiums are now where a lot of these stars are going.
Shannon, are we selling 60,000 tickets?
I feel like that's a bit much.
But he did 40,000, as you said.
So, I mean, I think it's possible.
Plus, we get Wynona Judd.
I'm excited about her.
I'm a fan of the judge.
You get wine owner.
That's exactly right.
So I think she'll sell some tickets as well.
So maybe they can.
I'm excited.
I'm going.
It'll be awesome.
But I couldn't believe what I saw.
because the rest of his tour dates, like he's playing Riverby.
Like the rest of his tour dates are not that size.
This is a home, kind of a home game for him.
Yeah, that's exactly right.
All right, let's do quickly.
Let's do our Draft Kings KSR Parlay.
You go to Draft Kings to get your picks.
Remember, we got to pick.
This is just picking to win, teams with a seven-point favorite or less.
I'm going with our guy.
I'm going to go first.
I'm going with our guy that, you know, coached here.
Who knows?
Might one day be the coach here again.
I'm taking John Somerall.
Tulane is a seven-point favorite against Navy.
No offense to Navy, but they will not be able to stay on the field with Tulane.
Seven points on the road.
Tulane will have a lot of people there.
Give me the green wave for my pick.
What about you?
I'm going with the BYU-Fighty Mark Popes, two-point favorite over Kansas.
Didn't you pick them a couple weeks ago?
Yeah, I'm riding the BYU train.
That's good.
BYU, if you listen to Fade This, which, by the way, I tell a story on Fade This weekend,
I'll never tell in another venue at the end of Fade This.
So if you want a little special KSR Pearl, you'll never hear this story anywhere else.
But BYU, we like Mormons on the Fade This, so I like the BYU pick.
What about you?
We certainly endorse Ryan's pick.
I am going to Illinois, where they're a two-point favorite at home against Michigan State.
Michigan State's lost four of five.
Illinois still got a little bit to play for with an easy schedule down the rest of the way.
I think they finished the year strong.
I love all three of these.
I feel like this is going to hit.
I'm going to close it out.
Big fan.
I'm going to close it out strong here.
LSU, they've been taking a beating the last couple of weeks,
but they're back.
They're on the road taking on Florida who's struggling.
I like LSU and this one.
How much they...
Four?
I'll take the points.
You want to go money line?
I'll even take four.
No, no, we're doing money lines.
Okay.
So we got LSU, Illinois, BYU, and Tulane, a weird group of teams.
This will be our fourth winner of the year, I'm just feeling.
What do you not like about LSU over Florida?
Give me the case for Florida.
DJ Lagway might not even play.
Who knows what's going on?
Tonight in basketball, Alabama, by the way, plays at Purdue.
And if you want to see two of our future opponents play against each other,
Ohio State and Texas A&M play on the SEC network tonight.
So you'll get to see Aaron Bradshaw.
Those are two teams both ranked in the top 20.
Both teams we play this year.
They play tonight if you're looking for some college basketball at home.
Louisville must have the weekend off.
because I keep waiting for Pat Kelsey to pop here and yell.
Yom Center, noon, be there.
Ever since I've been in Louisville, I've been waiting for him to come yell at you.
Yeah, I think they might.
All right, speaking to Louisville, Kentucky women,
Kenny Brooks gets his home game Saturday against Louisville's women.
Both teams ranked in the top 20.
I'm going to ask all of you, the game is at 6 o'clock.
The basketball game or football games at 1.30.
So a couple things.
First of all, football game will end at 4.30.
I'm going to do the post-game show for KSR at the bar Saturday night.
If you're not going to be at the bar to come watch and celebrate after the game
and watch the women's game, go to Memorial Coliseum and give Kenny a packed house.
I genuinely think this women's team is a contender to go to the final four.
And we haven't beat Louisville's women in a while.
So this is the year to get them at home.
We need to have a crazy atmosphere.
here, Ryan. Kenny Brooks is killing it. But in like February, we're going to be going crazy for this women's team.
Let's go get them and beat Louisville tomorrow night in Lexi.
And he knows all about Louisville. You know, played against them when he was in Virginia Tech.
So he knows the Louisville program is a good program.
But I heard him give an interview and he said, they told me when they redid this coliseum, we would pack it.
So let's see it. Let's see if we're going to pack it tomorrow night for the Louisville game.
It's a perfect situation with the football game. If you're in town, the football game will be over.
you can go.
We really, I hope that Kentucky,
I wish they would let me do the show there.
I'd like to do the show there tomorrow,
but I hope people will make the place pack
because it's a big game.
And the Kentucky Louisville women's rivalry,
we go after the same players they do.
Yeah.
Like we kind of are always going back and forth
for the same players.
It's a big deal.
Yeah, we keep focus on how Pope's had this hot start,
but the women have just completely destroyed.
They're annihilating people.
Deja Langellar.
Lawrence had a great game the other night.
I think we're still waiting on a big Georgia Amor performance.
Hopefully it comes tomorrow.
But so far, they've kind of been unfortunate.
They've had doubleheaders with the men.
It's been hard to pull off going to see them.
As you said, this is a perfect scenario.
Leave the football game and head right over and make a full day out of it.
Yeah.
Who's up next?
Also, commitment watch on women again.
Yeah, by the way, they got a commitment.
The women's version of Trilly Donovan, who sort of gives a notion of commitments are coming,
seems to suggest Kentucky's going to get another one today.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
So the Kentucky, Kenny Brooks is killing it kind of under the radar for the women's team.
But go ahead.
Who's next?
Nick is up next.
Nick, go ahead, Nick.
Anytime you're ready.
Any time you're ready, Nick.
Hey, guys, I just want you all to settle in the debate for me.
Obviously, we're big cats fans here at home.
And on Saturday, my kid decided to go to bed at halftime.
Of course, we come back and win the game.
So the question is, do I have to enforce that now for every game?
or only for the Champions Classic.
I'll hang up and listen.
Listen, if your kid is so tired and not interested,
they go to bed at halftime, then let them go to bed.
Like, I left the bar to go clean off the scratch on my neck,
and we start coming back, and I was like, I'm not going back.
We all have to do our sacrifices, Shannon, to win these games,
and if that means your kid has to be forced to go to sleep,
then go to sleep.
Go to bed, kid.
Shut up, kid.
Go to sleep.
We've got to win.
What a great parent you would be.
You know, I think I would let the kids stay up late if it wanted to, but, you know, if he wants to go to sleep, I don't have a problem with that.
You stand over the kid and go go to sleep, sleep, kid.
You can't project your interest on your kid, though.
You know, you could try to make them a fan, I guess, but if they're not a fan, they're not a fan.
No, you have to.
You have to.
What if the kid is so young?
When it comes to Kentucky sports, people who let their kids be fans of other teams, I'm sorry, that's where I draw.
Your kid can do it every one.
Your kid can be a ballerina.
Your kid can be an astronaut.
Your kid, I don't care what if I have a kid, I don't care what my kid does.
I hope your kid grows up a little fan.
But if my kid grows up a Louisville fan, they're going to pay their own college tuition.
That's just a rule.
Everything else, be who you want to be, except you can't be a Louisville fan.
I would say to this guy, you know, the Clemson game and the Gonzaga game both start really, really late.
I'd say put them to both the bed at halftime.
I'm going to defend the kid here.
The Kinsaga game starts.
at 10 o'clock at night.
I don't know if people realize that.
That game is going to be late.
What if the kid has only seen recent basketball,
and they're like, well, we're not going to make any adjustments.
Why would I sit here and watch the second half?
Maybe the kid knows ball.
Yeah, but now it's changing, and you should be there for it.
Who's next?
Scott is up next.
Scott, go ahead, Scott.
Hey, guys, how you doing?
Doing good.
Recent Colorado transplant to Kentucky, but a huge UK fan.
Hey, Matt, it's not away, away, away, away.
No, don't give me another one.
No, no.
I already declared what it's going to be.
No, it's absolutely away, oh, way, oh, way.
That's not better.
I don't know what that was.
Yeah, that's nothing.
You just said, you just went away.
That's not a thing.
Australians have been chanting, ole, ole, ole, ole, ole,
for decades.
This is our version of it.
You're just screaming away away is not a thing.
It's saying a song.
I just don't know the song.
What song?
I don't know it.
Exactly.
If you don't know the song, then it's not a good chant.
Appreciate the call.
That is the Whiskey Thief non-call of the day.
I think he was talking about the song, Hot, Hot, Hot.
Because it starts all that.
Away, away, away.
Away, away.
Yeah, don't get fuel.
People come sell away come sail away okay you got this will never catch on if we give mixed messages

The question is, how do you conquer them?
them. On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,

and the mindset that keeps them going from the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star

An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladecki.
The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.

Welcome back to Kentucky Sports Radio.
Final segment here in Louisville.
Since this was the final segment,
everybody just give one big yell for the Louisville fans to show them who owns Jefferson County.
Let me hear it.
Thank you very much.
I just wanted to make sure that that's...
You do a catch chant if you want.
Yeah, why don't you do a little cat's chad?
See, there you go right there.
I just like to remind people when we're in Jefferson County that Kentucky still owns the place.
We don't do a lot of shows.
You two are just on each other.
Go ahead.
We don't do a lot of shows a little, but every time we do, man, it is packed with blue every single time.
859-2807.
One person writes, Matt, tomorrow, how many quarters should I expect Cutter Bowley to play?
He plays the entire second half is the hope.
They might even prefer him to get in in the second quarter, but I would say if I were a betting man, Ryan, I'd say to think to see him in the second half.
Yeah, I think you want three or four scoring drives with your ones out there.
take control of the game and then hand it over to the twos and let cutter kind of get a lot of reptics
like we said we don't have that month of December an extra month of practice since we didn't make a bowl game so this is going to be
cutters like December practice period in the second half of the game let's just break through that 20 point force field that we seemingly can't get passed all right let's get
let's get a good comfortable lead at halftime and then you can hand things over to cutter and let's see what we got with him i do think we'll i do think we will uh will beat that
Drew, a lot of Kentucky fans got angry yesterday at Jay Williams.
He made a video where he said, hey, Kentucky fans, get over it.
Cooper Flag and Duke are going to be the most important story, even though you won.
I don't totally disagree with him, but at the same time, it was kind of dismissive and people didn't like it.
It's interesting, Drew, the national media, we're used to during the Cal era, there was a certain group of media that we really liked.
We liked Seth Greenberg.
We liked Mike DeCorsi.
We liked people who were very pro-Cow.
We didn't like Gary Parrish, Jeff Goodman, those guys.
In the Pope era, it's flipped.
Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish really like Mark Pope,
and they really want to build him up, I think because they don't like Cal.
And then you've got like Seth Greenberg and Dick Vital and some of those guys who really
love Cal who want to almost get mad at us for not liking Cal and it's almost like the heroes and the
villains of the media have almost drew flipped here in like a year yeah well with Seth Greenberg
we know what's gone on there he'll roll trow's trash down one Monday if Cal asks him too they're very
close the Jay Williams thing that video I watched it because I saw it had some of view's reply I just
didn't understand the point of it it was like Jay Williams explains marketing while should be driving his
It was just like, what is the point of this going on here?
I didn't even feel like the thing he was preaching to us about anyone was complaining about that.
I'm going to make you a prediction about Seth Greenberg.
Shannon, Seth Greenberg's going to make Kentucky fans mad this year.
He is so wrapped up and being angry about how the Cal era ended.
Yeah.
That like, I mean, I'll just be honest with you.
And I would say this if he was standing right here.
He and I were friends.
We were very friendly.
And he just, he didn't just cut me off.
he sent me nasty messages was really rude to me once at UK for only like only for saying that
cow wasn't doing a good job I mean shockingly upset at me about it and that is going to come through
in his coverage just wait and see still upset about not getting paid for that time that he filled in
for you I think that's part of it too yeah you're right I mean the guys that are cow guys are loyal to a fault
I mean, they love Cala Perry so much that they're willing to sort of, I guess, aim that backlash towards fans.
Well, I could tell how mad.
I could tell how mad Cal was at me.
By the way, Seth started treating me.
That's how, I mean, that was partially like two, three years ago.
Because all of a sudden this dude that had always been friends with me,
was just like being a jerk to me, and I couldn't understand why.
You showed me one of the messages that Seth Greenberg, Sam.
I'm like, whoa, where is this?
It was shocking.
I mean, again, I'd say this to him.
I'm not hiding it.
He's my colleague at ESPN.
It was shocking to me the stuff he would send me about like simple basketball disagreements.
It was, it was really crazy.
Who's up next?
Charlene is next.
Charlene, go ahead.
Hey, Matt.
So I just had to say that Tuesday night, it became absolutely apparent to me that start to finish
in that awesome sick win over Duke.
I was just, I just so much more enjoyed Kentucky basketball under Mark Pope.
I had that quiet confidence the whole game because I know he was meticulous scouting, deep analytics, outstanding staff had a super wide game plan.
He knows his ex at the nose.
And he's got guys who play for the name on the front of the jersey.
Not once.
Did I ever feel the need to have to shout out coaching instructions to him like I had to do for the last.
I don't know.
Charlie, they didn't listen to you the last few years.
You were telling them what to do, and they didn't even listen.
I know.
Well, that's, I agree with you, and I appreciate the call.
Ryan, this team is so much more fun to watch.
Put everything else aside.
It's just a more fun, enjoyable type of basketball.
You know, I think a lot of our fan base, like I said before, we kind of fractured,
but we were almost, we were in, not not embarrassed,
but we were afraid to get too excited

that was getting ready to come.
Well, now we're all back on board.
You know, we're all excited again.
