Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's
Matt Jones. Welcome back. Hour number two,
Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287 here
at the KS Bar and Grill. You can give
a shout. We've got a couple open lines.
859-9-2-80-22-87. So please, if you want to
in and join us. Let's talk about a couple other things the weekend. I think the big story of the
weekend was probably Jake Paul, Mike Tyson. If you saw it, a lot of you are still buffering
trying to get the stream to work. They claim 60 million people were watching it. That feels high
to me, but I would say a lot of people were watching it. I think everybody wanted to see it.
We ended up having a great crowd here at the bar because ours worked. We got it from the
satellite instead of the streaming. So it actually was.
So it actually worked for the fight.
It was a circus, which shouldn't be surprising.
You had Rosie Perez, you had Cedric the Entertainer,
looking like he was going to sell you something from, you know,
it was some sort of scammer.
It looked like a genie.
He did look a little bit like a genie.
You had Mike Tyson's butt cheeks just make an appearance,
which I don't know that people thought would happen.
I found the fight drew actually kind of sad for 30 seconds it was cool like Mike Tyson came out for 30 seconds he looked like Mike Tyson right moving his feet and then it was clear he was really tired and uh I just I could the last three or four rounds I actually was kind of uncomfortable I didn't really enjoy it I was like just don't hurt him and but as I said I didn't think there was any chance that Jake Paul wouldn't win and then he did you weren't allowed to bet on it in Kentucky we were one of six states who were one of six states who were.
whose commissions did not allow them to take bets on it.
So everywhere else you could, but Kentucky, you couldn't.
Or else I would have broken the bank on Jake, Paul.
But what do you think about the whole spectacle?
It shows our local commission, knows a staged fight when it sees one.
That went exactly like I thought it would outside of the buffering.
That added some drama.
But there was never a world where that was going to be a real fight.
I mean, they weren't even punching for the last four rounds.
That was a money grab, but it was still entertaining with its moments.
Like, I thought we might see one butt cheek, didn't expect to see both butt cheeks.
Really the fight before it made the whole night work with the women fighting.
But the Paul Tyson thing, I never had faith in that, and it proved to be exactly what I.
This, I don't know, this may be controversial, but I appreciate that women box, and I think they should.
I think they should go do your thing, girl, but I don't like watching women box.
It's the same thing.
I don't want to see people get hurt.
And even though I know they don't need me to protect them, like, I mean, I know they're fine.
I just don't enjoy it.
And I don't know what it is about that.
I just don't, you know.
So I was awesome if it would quit buffering.
That was where I was getting the most of the way.
But I don't like, let me be clear.
I don't like fighting, period.
I don't like UFC.
I don't really like boxing.
So it's not just the women part.
It's just I don't, I feel like I just don't want to see people get hurt.
And I feel like when somebody gets like a big punch to the head, I like,
see their future. And her eyelid
was hanging off. And her eyelid was hanging
off. I just, I, it's just not
I don't like you. You say you don't like
fighting, but you own a wrestling company. That's interesting.
That's true, but that's different.
Wrestling's different. Wrestling's better.
Yeah. But like, I
just don't want to see people get hurt. But believe that
as it may. The, the
it was a spectacle.
It also goes to show how much America
Brian yearns for collective
moments. Like, I think
we've gotten so separated in this
country, you know, because of all of our options on things to watch, because of our various
interests, because of politics.
Like, there are very few things where people come together and they all watch an event
at the same moment.
I mean, think about what are those events?
The Super Bowl is certainly one.
But what else?
Like, are there things that everyone watches?
The Olympics felt like that this year.
Yes.
You know, for the first time in a long time, the Olympics felt.
like that. This was one of those kind of things. It did feel like everybody had it on.
I'm one of those people, like a lot of people, hadn't watched boxing in over 20 years.
I made sure I wanted to watch every second of it just because of the spectacle of Mike Tyson.
But do you think some of it is we do enjoy this kind of collective moment?
You're trying to think of other, the O.J. Simpson Bronco Chase.
I mean, that was 30 years ago. I'm saying now. Not now. Are there things? Oh, I know one, like when there's a royal
wedding.
But there was one not that long ago.
I didn't want, like, did you watch Queen Elizabeth's funeral?
I don't, but a hundred million gazillion people watch it.
But again, that, the final wedding was 10 years.
Like, that was a long time ago.
Like, it's getting harder to do these things.
There's so many options and so many events you can now watch.
Like, it used to be if something was on TV, like the, what was the Friends finale,
like the whole world watch?
Now there's so many options.
I mean, I remember, like, those final, like, the first couple seasons of American
idol like when it was Rubin versus Clay and the first finale of Survivor.
I feel like everyone watched, but I don't feel like you get those things very often.
And Shannon, I kind of felt like Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, maybe not for people like my mom,
but like for our age, wasn't that kind of one of those things in some ways?
And who would have thought Jake Paul and Mike Tyson brings the world together?
Those two people.
It is weird because it was, it's a circus, but I do think that, I will tell you,
Every part, did you all watch it?
It's a yes or no question.
It seems like a lot.
You watch buffering.
Did you try to watch it?
Okay.
So look, four people here tried to watch it.
This gentleman's a little older.
You didn't want to watch it.
But I think a lot of people were trying to watch.
So now will it be a rematch?
I wouldn't watch a rematch.
I just, I feel like I've seen it.
What's the point of it?
I mean, Tyson didn't even throw any punches.
Yeah, I mean, Tyson clearly can't collect $20 million.
Yeah, that one round he threw, what, seven punches in a whole round?
I mean, I just, Shannon, I wouldn't watch another one.
Would you?
No, not at this point.
I mean, clearly he was just there to stand there for 16 minutes,
collect $20 million and walk out and, you know, put Jake Paul over as a good fighter.
That was the plan, I think, from the very beginning.
Yeah, I don't think it was staged,
meaning I think that's what would happen when you have a 58-year-old man.
and five. Like it didn't need to be staged. That's the exact result that would occur if you did
something like that. The only difference is if it was, maybe it was staged in the sense that if it
was real, he would have knocked him out. Yeah, I thought it was staged going back to the slap to
sell it. It was just like, hey, I'm not knocking you out. But do you think, okay, well, that,
you agree with me that knock it. But Mike Tyson couldn't have won. No, it was like, hey, I'm going to
pay you $20 million. I'm going to beat Mike Tyson by decision. If it goes well, we'll have a second one.
Mike Tyson went bankrupt two months before this was announced.
It was pretty clear what we're about to get.
That's why I think we'll get a part two.
I think we showed how gullible we are as a nation to tune into that and we'll do it again.
Well, I won't watch part two.
I'm going on record.
If they're wondering, I'm out on part two.
I enjoyed part one.
Now, it led to a conversation that I want to bring up here.
Okay.
So somebody brought this up Saturday night,
and this is a question for the four of you.
I want you to think of what's the youngest age
but old, okay?
So think of older people.
What's the youngest age that you think you could beat in a boxing match
anyone that age?
So, like, clearly, like, I still would take Mike Tyson over all of us.
Oh, yes.
Okay.
Do you think you could beat in a boxing match someone that is 70?
Do you think you could beat the, like, best 70-year-old fighter?
I want to say yes, but there could be one out there walking around.
Robert Kennedy Jr.
I don't know.
I don't like him, but he's ripped.
Do you think you could beat him in a fight?
Got to think about all the 70-year-olds.
Yeah.
Flair.
It's all about the endurance.
You beat up Rick Flair?
Rick Flair?
You think you could beat up Rick Flair in a fight?
Probably now.
Yeah, I probably can take Rick Flair now.
You think you could take Rick Flair now?
People are old.
Mike Tyson can barely walk three rounds into that.
You just got to dance around a little bit.
So you think tomorrow I put you in a boxing match.
with Rick Flair, you could be.
Player's in bad shape now to be fair to here.
That's fine. But I'm asking you,
I mean, you all act like we boxed.
Not one of us has ever boxed.
It would only take one punch.
One punch, Shannon, you think you are one punch
away from knocking these people out.
From Rick Flair right now in his condition?
Yes, the guy who's barely alive.
Kick him in the knee.
I will say to you,
I think there are 70-year-olds that could whip
all four of us.
Oh, there's probably something that exists.
But I think I could beat someone up that can barely walk.
Take the best 70-year-old.
Do you think you could beat up any 70-year-old in a boxing match?
I don't think any of us could.
I was going to say 80.
I was looking at 80.
I was going to say 85.
I think there's an 80-year-old that could take.
My dad's 83.
I'm scared of my dad.
Maybe I should go 85.
Like, I mean, being 70, you all are like being.
Yeah, 70.
I mean, you still got old man strength.
You probably still got your balance somewhat.
Okay, 70 is 12 years from me.
I'm 12 different age in between you guys.
So that's not a lot.
That's not a huge difference.
I want you to go look at a picture of Robert Kennedy with his shirt off.
Y'all ain't beating that dude up.
No, I bet there's plenty of seven-year-olds.
You ain't beating him up.
and there's no way I'm beating him up.
And he's 70.
Yeah, I'm going 80.
There's probably probably maybe 85.
I'm, Ryan, I'm with you.
I'm going 85.
Like these two, Shannon and Drew may be out here thinking there.
No, no, no.
I said Rick Flair, Floyd Mayweather.
You're changing our argument.
Okay, so pick the age.
What's the age you think you could take somebody?
I think 80's about right to be safe.
80?
Yeah.
Okay, Shannon.
You're going to go younger than 80.
Yeah, I mean, probably somebody in their late 70s.
So you think you could take somebody like 77.
But you got to think about guys like that are wrestlers in their 70s.
Okay, Hulk Hogan.
Could you beat him up?
No.
How old's Hulk Hogan?
He's, I think he's in the 70s.
Okay, we're not beating Hulk Hogan up.
There's, you know, McMahon even.
I mean, you think about Vince McMahon.
I mean, he would beat all of us up.
Vince McMahon would pulverize all of us.
Yeah.
Lawler's in his 70s.
He would beat us up.
No, Ryan, I would say, if you fought a 90s.
year old, that would be, that would not be nice of you.
We could set this up, you know.
If you were to go challenge any nine-
Radio Ron?
Radio Ron was at that remote and he's 90.
He's 90.
I'm not sure you could take him.
He would beat me in a 5K.
I believe that.
I'm no doubt.
I mean, I squared off with a 60-year-old Al Snow.
I didn't beat him.
Okay, forget.
Al-Snow would kill us all.
Yes.
Lawler was 70-something when I faced off of the helm in Owensboro.
I didn't beat him up.
So.
You think you could beat up Radio Ron?
No.
No.
Ryan couldn't.
I can beat him up.
I can beat him up.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Evan.
Evan, go ahead.
Evan.
Hey, Matt.
I just want to talk about Mark Pope for a minute.
One of the things that struck me watching that journey video is just how engaging he is with the players.
I mean, he walked into the locker.
He walked in a locker.
soccer at halftime. And the first thing he does is ask the team, hey guys, what are we doing
well, what are we not doing well? You know, and, oh, we're getting killed in isolation
ball screens. They're all on the same page. You know, and then if you go out there and, you
know, they know how to fix it, and if Duke still beats you and there's so much better than you,
then, I mean, you can live with it almost. But, you know, it was so refreshing to see
just them all on the same page. And then, I mean, there's been years, there's been games
the past few years where it didn't look like we knew what a ball screen was.
I have to say if, if Cowell, I mean,
Kyle talks about players being empowered,
but I feel like Mark Pope takes it to just like a whole other level.
I like it.
I appreciate the call.
I think all of that is,
I think that's a good,
I think he does empower the players,
but he also,
he doesn't empower them on their own.
He gives them tools to be empowered.
And I think that makes,
this team is going to be fun to watch.
Let me ask you a question.
We talked about 13,
non-conference games. We picked at the beginning of the year how many we'd lose. We all kind of
thought they'd be like 10 and 30. Now they've beaten Duke, who I think we thought they would
lose to. Ohio State hasn't looked quite as good as we thought they would. Clemson lost by 12
to Boise State. Louisville lost by 20 to Tennessee. What's their non-conference record now,
right? I thought they'd lose to Duke to Clemson and Gonzaga. I think now that Clemson-Gonzagga week,
I probably split.
I'm going to say one.
So you're going to say 12 and 1?
Yeah, I'm going to go 1.
Okay, what about you?
I think I had them losing two of these.
I'm moving it to one.
They'll lose one of Clemson, Gonzaga.
I mean, maybe Louisville will start looking a little better.
I don't see them losing the Louisville at home.
And I would have had Ohio State a little closer until I saw them lose by 15.
So I think they beat Ohio State and Louisville and then drop one of the other two.
Shannon?
I'll go 11 and 2 overall.
I think probably Clemson and Gonzaga.
Back to back.
there's a good chance you drop those two.
I'm going to say 12 and 1.
I mean, I think we're driving all the way out there,
but I think we probably lose to Gonzaga.
But I think I kind of think we're going to steal one at Clemson now.
I mean, I think that, you know, that's 12.
Why not?
I mean, that'll be the week right before the ACC championship,
which they're going to be playing in.
Maybe they don't fall, maybe they don't care as much.
I mean, a football championship.
The Gonzaga game is the one that scares me.
I think they're really good.
And it's out there.
But I thought it was going to be 10 and 30.
Yeah.
And if it ends up being 12 and 1, now of a sudden you're sitting there going,
why can't we be a 2 seed or a 3 seed, you know, instead of a 4 or 5,
which is kind of what I was looking at before the season.
859-2807.
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.
Let's just say, for example, you know somebody who's kind of casually looking at houses
and maybe you send them a listing over the weekend for them to look at,
and maybe they kind of like it.
So I would think that person probably should call Stockton Mortgage.
You know anybody like that?
I didn't love your choice, but nevertheless, I do like the idea of it.
So, yeah, so Stockton Mortgage would be your next step.
If you're that person, you talk to a loan officer, and you keep that same law officer throughout the entire process.
They get you to the closing table, and that's what's all about.
So give them a try.
Stockton Mortgage, an MLS, 8259, Equal Housing Lender.
By the way, people are telling me that good nickname is not automatic, Evan.
What is it?
Money McPherson.
Money Mac.
Money McPherson.
So not quite the same as automatic.
No, close.
I mean, actually not even close.
We'll take a break and be right back.
This KSR.

The question is, how do you conquer this?
them. On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,
professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them
and the mindset that keeps them going from the WMBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star
Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood
that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you,
but don't ever feel like you don't belong. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladecki.

Yeah.
Well, a lot of people watched that and thought they could beat Mike Tyson.
People forget Jake Paul like, it's a train box.
Like, it's not the same as just us.
Right.
You know, but I don't know that I can take any of these people.
One person writes, Matt, I know Ambien Matt could take on any 70-year-old.
Ambien Matt.
can do all physical feeds.
Ambien Matt has beer muscles.
No, Ambien Matt just, he just knows how to do his moves.
Oh, okay.
You don't understand.
There's a lot of people sending his name, like Chuck Norris is in these 80s.
There's no way we could beat Chuck Norris.
No.
Sylvester Stallone and Tulsa King, he's 78.
No.
You're not taking him.
No.
Even in that show, he slaps people left and right.
So you're not going to do that.
One person writes, how's Drew going to bring up maybe Louisville?
They lost to Tennessee by 20, and Tennessee's point guard had 11 turnovers.
I need more confidence from Drew about the Louisville game.
Well, I predicted a win.
What do you want for me?
I think it will be a big win.
Ken Palm has it as like a double-digit victory if it were played tomorrow.
Yeah, but I think we, I don't think Louisville's good.
And I'll be on.
I have not watched one minute of Louisville.
I cannot name one player on Louisville.
I do not know how they play.
And I probably will not watch Louisville until we play them.
Yeah, I'll watch them.
I enjoy, I mean, once I saw their team pick.
picture, Shannon. I felt like I need to see that team on a basketball court as much as possible.
Yeah, I feel like if we lose to that team, maybe we should just pack it in for the rest of the
season. You can't lose to that team. Let me go over a little bit of a schedule here. So tomorrow,
Kentucky plays Lipscomb. David Lipscomb has lost to Arkansas. They played somebody else
decent this weekend. They had Belmont beat and blew it at the end. Yes. So we play them on Tuesday.
They should be a nice battle here. We'll be doing the pregame show here at the bar. Wednesday,
trivia so get all your get all your your trivia heads together and get ready get your team together
that's Wednesday night is our November I host the trivia I'm glad you told me that because I didn't
know that so I'll have my team ready yes the dream team it's the dream team comes out and then we play
again on Friday basketball we play Jackson State on on Friday this is the BBN

Yes. Lipscomb already lost to Western yesterday to lead off the beginning.
Oh, that was put, so, so wait.
The invitational has already begun.
The Kentucky Invitational has already started.
Started yesterday.
I'm surprised you weren't there watching the selection show.
I didn't get the invitation.
I didn't get the invitation for the Kentucky Invitational.
Did you know it started?
I didn't even know that's what it was called.
I thought it was the Bill Kightly Invitational, Kewood-Ledford invitation,
which we changed the name like every year.
Western beat Lipscomb by five.
Okay.
So Lipscomb, then Jackson State.
Friday than Western.
She and please keep the bracket for me of the Kentucky Invitational.
You're better on the promotional stuff here for this Kentucky tournament, right?
Yeah, I will say the Kentucky Invitational is not getting Jake Paul, Mike Tyson.
BBM Invitational.
BBM Invitational.
Oh, it's the BBN Invitational.
They should have had Mark Pope slap the coach at Western to get it started.
Can anyone name the coach at Western?
No.
I bet Billy can't name it either.
But no, I don't know him either.
Well, Lipscomb is tomorrow night.
I will say, Hank, something.
I have more people asking me about tickets for games like this than I have in a long time.
I think we're going to see crowds for these next few games.
After the Duke win, I think people are like, I've got to go find a way to get into that arena.
I think we'll have a big crowd tomorrow night because it's coming off the Duke win.
We haven't played in a week.
People are so excited about this basketball team.
We'll know during the pregame show if this place is full at 430,
it's going to be full at Ruppering up for tip off.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Joe.
Joe, go ahead, Joe.
Yeah, thanks, Matt.
Earlier in the show, y'all were critiquing our offensive line.
And, Matt, I'll be the first of admit our five interior linemen have not been really great.
And I'll be honest with you, not even good.
But, Matt, on a football play, there's wide receivers, there's running backs that also have to block.
And I think Ryan Levin sometimes overlooks.
that maybe Dane don't get a, he ain't the greatest block.
Oh, I'll slow you down.
No, no, no, no.
You're not watching the same game I'm watching.
I would say this, though.
I agree with you.
Our wide receivers may not be the best downfield blockers.
But the reason we're getting sacked is not the wide receivers.
We're getting sacked because the offensive linemen, you're right.
The tight ends get beat.
I'm totally with you on that.
But Dane or Barry on missing a downfield block has almost nothing to do with getting
sacked.
Okay, I'm talking mainly like our young running back breaks loose
and you don't get that downfield block.
To be fair.
To be fair.
Yeah, but that's not the same as the quarterback sacks.
I agree with you.
They do have receivers that miss downfield blocks on runs.
But our problem is not those plays, sir.
Our problem is the quarterback getting no time?
Well, first of all, we're more of a run-to-team and passing team.
And my last question is Mr. Orion Levin?
is our young man going to come back and show he's the best receiver in the SEC or if you're going to go pro.
Thank you all.
You seem like a ball of joy today, by the way.
I mean, I just want you to think about that call.
You call, you blast the kid, and then you passively aggressively ask if he's going to come back.
I think that's impressive.
That was a pretty, you've called us for many years, and I like you a lot, but that was a pretty unnecessary tone on those two.
You can answer the question about whether or not you think he's going to come back.
I did see he's now projected as like a fourth round draft pick.
Do you think if he were to be a fourth round draft pick, he would go?
I mean, I think he'll just do like every player does.
But what do you think he would do if he was projected as that?
I mean, because that's kind of where he's projected right now.
I would think if it was me, I would go.
If that was me, I'm a fourth round pick.
What if you were a fourth round draft pick and they said,
if you come back and dominate, you could get in the first or second round?
That'd be tough, yeah.
It does.
Because there are guys who their skill set will not allow them to move up.
But he's a guy based on height and speed that could move up.
Yeah.
Him and Beryon both, I think, have that ability.
Beryon is not projected in the draft right now.
No, but he's got that speed that.
But he's not going to grow.
No.
So I don't know.
Dane's an interesting case to me.
Yeah.
Because Dane has the build to be a first round pick.
And he's proved this year he could be an NFL receiver.
But he's projected like,
now like in the 4th.
Yeah.
So what do you think you would do?
I mean, I would go.
Okay.
Well, that's probably what he would end up doing then.
We'll take a break.
Barry back, KSR.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J.
He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio.
859-280-2287.
Text machine, 772-75-25-4.
Okay, so let's, this is a great question.
I can't believe we're doing this on a Monday,
but you know what?
It is an entertaining question.
Somebody writes, Matt, it's nice to hear you all try to decide
whether you're not you could beat up the elderly.
But do you think you could beat up UK sports members?
And they give a list.
Clairs?
All right.
Now, on the sports media members.
Sports media.
Okay.
Some of them might want this opportunity.
Now, look, let's just say, we would never want to do any of this,
okay?
We like all of these people.
This is just hypothetical.
Okay, I'm going to go through the list as they have them.
Are you ready?
I'm ready.
I'm ready for the smoke.
I'm running up the chimney.
Drew, Tom Leach.
I love Tom Leach.
Dang it.
I don't want to play anymore.
I think I could luck into a fight by decision against Tom.
All right.
You're going to take out Tom.
Sorry, Tom, Ryan.
I don't want to hit Tom Leach.
This is not like they be, when you box somebody, you don't have to dislike them.
It's for sure.
It's for charity.
We're not really fighting.
Yeah, all the money goes to that charity you like, houseful or whatever.
And Club Blue.
Yeah.
And Club Blue.
I think I could take Tom.
All right.
I think I could take Tom.
Shannon, you think you can take Tom?
I am wearing him down.
You're going to wear Tom out.
I'm going to gas you.
All right.
Jeff Piccoro.
Oh, he'd kick my butt.
He'd kill me.
He'd kill me.
I want no part of Joe.
He'd kill me.
Shannon, would you take Jeff McCor?
I can beat Pecoro.
Oh, you think you could beat Pecoro.
Jeff,
McCor would crush you.
Get in line for the radio championship.
Oh, this is going to be a real.
Jeff Piccora would absolutely crush you.
Dick Gabriel.
Oh, yeah.
He's like a black belt in like crud.
Oh, he's a black belt.
Yeah.
Oh, see, I didn't know that.
This is a karate.
This is boxing.
Yeah, but this is boxing.
He's not allowed to kick.
I don't.
Dick Gabriel would beat my ass.
See, I was going to say, I was going to say I could beat up Dick Gabriel,
But if he has training, then I'm going to learn.
Me too.
So I'll give Dick Gabriel.
Me too.
Oh, yeah, I just Google.
He's a six degree black belt.
He's a six degree.
Dick Gabriel is a six degree black belt?
Unless I have a different deal.
When did that happen?
That's right.
I knew he was a black belt.
Wow.
Maybe that's a different one.
I don't know.
But regardless, if there's any chance this is true, I'm out.
I'm out.
That's amazing.
All right, Shannon, you're going to take out six degree black belt, Dick Gabriel.
I was just producing a show about two hours ago.
I can do it, though.
Oh, you can't do it.
Oh, yeah.
I'll tell him to his face tomorrow morning on the Lentureport.
You're telling you.
I'm telling that.
Gabriel would destroy you, Shannon.
Let's do one for Ryan.
Ryan, could you beat up Jim Host?
Jim Host.
Oh, I would take a dive.
I think everybody could take out Jim Host.
Okay.
Cameron Mills.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's younger than me.
Yeah, I think we could take Cameron.
I got to go backwards for a second.
I found a website.
It says Master Dick Gabriel is a six-degree black belt who has been studying
Chung Yin-Shallin martial arts since 1977.
He's open all of us.
Master Dick Gabriel?
That's what they call him?
They call him Master Dick Gabriel.
It's on this website.
That's an automatic elf.
Wow.
All right.
All right.
Alan Cutler.
Yeah.
I feel like we could take Alan.
We can take Alan.
Hey, this is unfiltered, Alan.
I can take you.
He does have good cardio, though.
He does.
He does.
He does have good cardio.
Yes, he does.
You have to work it out.
We can take, we can take out.
Knock his mustache off.
Knock his mustache.
I didn't find himself.
Robbly.
Yeah, come on, man.
We can take Robb.
I haven't seen Rob in a while.
You can take Robbley.
Yeah.
Okay.
Just the, if they got a little age on him.
Okay.
I got one for you.
Okay.
Jack Gibbons.
Jack Gibbons.
No.
Jack could take us.
Jack could definitely take it.
Jack definitely could take me.
for sure yeah and i'm not capable of even lifting my arm to throw a punch of jack given's
yeah wanted to jack jack gibbons he would whip all of us um john clay i've never met him i don't
even know what he looks like i think you could take john yeah okay here's a good one he's not with the
k anymore but Kyle Tucker oh we almost found out a few times that almost happened that's one
that was probably close to occurring quite a bit i'm taking Kyle Tucker's gonna he beat me he he'd he
take me yeah he that's a good good that one's tough i could see him going either way he could be sneaky
good fighter or he could be terrible i don't know what kyle tucker would we'd get in the ring yeah you
know he's he's uh he's liberal so i'm taking those liberal i'm so like his twitter mentions
would get behind me and we gang up on him and take him yeah i think i think i think we could get him
Seth Greenberg.
Wear that little bald head out.
But you know he could have that crazy.
He could have that crazy strong.
Shaden, what did you just say?
I would wear that little bald head out.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, punch, punch, right that, right on that head.
That made me cry.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Clay.
Clay, go ahead, Clay.
Hey, just wanted to go back to that halftime speech by Pope.
He said something in there that I really liked.
I'm going to paraphrase, but he said something like,
they'll want to be where we're at,
but they won't want to do what we did to get there.
I like that.
And I think that's kind of like just like the theme of the season.
Like these guys, like they never expected to be here at Kentucky.
Pope, I mean, 11 years ago,
he was in medical school, so I don't think he ever really expected to be here.
And it's just like this believe, you know, like Ted Lassow.
And I love that quote.
I think that's a great quote.
I appreciate the call.
Mark Pope said in that video, the want to be where we are, but they won't want to do what
we had to do to get there.
I love that quote.
And I felt like it was especially opera poll about this group, right?
because this group is working, like, for this group to reach their goals, it ain't going to be just on sheer talent.
They're going to have to outwork to get there.
And I love that quote.
I thought it was such an emblematic quote, Ryan, of what Mark seems to be about.
I totally agree with that.
You know, these coming from Fairley Dickinson and Drexel and Dayton, these guys didn't expect they were going to end up playing at Kentucky and playing on a team now that we all think can make a big run in March.
So I love that quote.
And there's something awesome about, I mean, look, if this team, again,
They've got to win, and so far they have.
But if this team, if we take a group who the starting lineup,
and I know they went to the national championship,
but the starting lineup is San Diego State, Oklahoma,
but not even one of the best players at Oklahoma,
BYU, Wake Forest, Drexel,
coming off the bench with Fairleigh Dickinson, West Virginia,
Dayton, a Mormon mission.
Like that is there's just something Drew kind of special about winning that way because I don't think in the rest of the Mark Pope era that's how we're going to be winning is with a group like that.
And even what's considered on paper your star was a sixth man at BYU.
O way wasn't even one of the main guys in Oklahoma as you're saying.
So it's not just the randomness of the schools.
Some of them came from smaller roles at these smaller programs and have stepped up.
I just, I mean, I love that.
And then even our two high school recruits are two guys from Harlan and Eddieville.
I mean, it's not like they were walking the streets of the biggest cities in America.
They were in the second region and the 13th region.
Like, for that team to have success, it will be very special if they're able to do it.
Who's next?
Sam.
Sam, go ahead, Sam.
Hey, thanks, Matt.
watching that journey video
actually brought tears to my eyes
seeing Andrew Carr kind of step up
with his word of mouth.
I think all of them just stepping up
is huge. But as I was listening to
countdown to kickoff yesterday,
felt like you and Myron were getting
a little bit fiery there. I was getting
a little worried.
Myron and I have fun. We were talking about milk.
I said anyone who drinks milk
as an adult is a psychopath
and
and Myron claimed
he loved milk and then we realized it was almond milk,
which is not the last time I checked,
an almond is not an animal.
So I didn't say that.
I didn't believe that was real milk.
And it just led to a, you know,
a strong argument on countdown to kick off.
You can get it on podcasts Sunday mornings with Matt and Myron.
I feel horrible.
I had two glasses of milk last night.
Me too.
Yeah.
A couple of psychos.
Yeah.
Oh, in chocolate chip cookies.
Got to have milk.
Shannon and I rest my case.
There you go.
Happy,
happy.
Happy this.
A bunch of psychos.
Having this crew drink milk last night.
How do you eat a chocolate chip cookie and not have milk?
Well, okay.
Fine.
But I'm just asking you, you're sitting down at home.
It's 9 o'clock at night.
You're just pouring a glass of whole milk into a glass and drinking it?
No, not in that scenario.
Exactly.
That's what I'm talking about.
Dipping a cookie into it is a different thing.
I'm saying to you, if you just drink as a pleasurable drink,
drink a glass of milk that is psychotic behavior as an adult.
As an adult.
What if it's with your breakfast?
Okay.
With cereal, perfectly reasonable.
What about pancakes, bacon, and eggs, and a big glass of milk?
Weird, but I'll take it.
Okay.
But if it's 8 o'clock, your feeder up, I'm watching the game, and you pour a glass
of milk into a glass and drink it, that's the kind of shit.
Whoa.
Hang on.
Dump.
Dump.
I hit both dump buttons
Just to make sure
I thought I had to dump you
Before Daron Lama and Marcus T.
Holy cow
Did I just do that?
Yeah
Only like the second time
Ever since I've been with you
Wow
You got a round of applause here
I think I just got into a zone
You did
Okay, I just got dumped
Yeah you did
Only for like the second time
Shannon isn't that right
I think you wash your mouth out
Yeah I remember one other time
I don't think I've ever been dumped before
What was the last time?
because I've never been dumped to the fact that you have one and I don't.
You were quoting the woman at the McDonald's drive-thru saying she talked.
I was quoting the one at the McDonald's drive-th.
That's right.
But that right there was not quoting anybody.
That was just you.
That is, like, I don't even talk like that.
You know what happens?
See, that's the thing about milk.
It causes you to go out of yourself.
Wow, I didn't know that.
Wow, these people sitting right here, you're the only ones that have ever seen that happen.
They started clapping.
So if you drink milk, you cuss like a sailor.
Wow.
Jeez.
You fight media members, cusses?
Those of you listening at home.
Is this Ammian Matt?
The host of you at home, no.
You would have never.
Wow.
We know what's too far for you.
What was the rest of the sentence?
I don't know.
It was like I was taken over by a cussing monster.
The look on your face is what I wish we would have.
I couldn't believe I said it.
Did you get it?
Were you recording when he did that, Mario?
No, thank you for not recording that.
I just want to see your look on your face.

The question is, how do you conquer them?
them. On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,

Welcome back, Tech Sports Radio.
I do agree with this statement here on the text machine.
Shannon, you have to, you're lied about Seth Greenberg.
You need to make a drop.
You need to make that a drop for Jay Billis.
Yes.
That was a great, Shannon line.
One person writes, Matt, I'm not sure if I've heard of more or less man.
segment in the history of the show talking about beating people up and then you dropping a cuss word it
wasn't as bad like those of you that didn't hear it it's not as bad as you think no but it was one that
you can't say just one of the words you can't say but that'll always be a mystery to the listeners because
they're never going to know what i was what i said just the people sitting here yeah you guys have a
secret for the people sitting here for our for all time just so shocking my point was if you
watch television and movies and they show people who are crazy often
Sometimes the way they show you that they're crazy is that they drink milk.
Okay.
Dahmer, Bundy, in no country for old men, before he kills somebody, he drinks a glass of milk.
Inglorious Masters, you said, silence of the lamps.
Like those, one of the ways you showcase that a person is crazy is you have them as an adult drink a glass of milk.
That's what I was trying to say.
they didn't come out like that.
But, Ryan, that's what I was trying to say.
I didn't know milk was in correlation with crazy people.
Yes.
But I enjoy a good glass of milk.
In a glass glass, got to be in a glass.
A couple things.
I have my new favorite, two new favorite college basketball players.
I have two.
Would you like to know who they are?
Yeah.
I don't know their names, so you're going to have to look them up.
One of them I tweeted out yesterday plays for Boise State.
Awesome.
Like, just go look at my Twitter.
I don't know. He had 18 points against Clemson, but he's awesome.
Long hair, mullet, glasses.
Wait, that guy plays basketball on the team.
That guy scored 18 points against Clemson yesterday.
Yes, I don't know. What's his name?
His name's on that little Chiron.
What's his name right there?
Meadow. A. Meadow.
A meadow. It doesn't say his first name. It just A.
Something Meadow.
Awesome. Boise State has a fan now.
And A. Meadow.
You saw his picture.
Yeah, he looks like he came from Buckhorn where they had all the great bullets.
He does look like he plays for Buckhorn.
He looks exactly like he plays for Buckhorn.
Andrew Meadow.
Andrew Meadow.
That's our new favorite player.
The new Cream Abdul-Jabbar is Andrew Meadow of Boise State.
Then the second guy, again, don't know his name, but he's the new DJ Burns.
Place for Bowling Green.
Did you see him?
I haven't seen him.
Look at him.
Big dude.
He's awesome.
plays for Bowling Green, gets minutes.
What's his name?
Marcus Johnson.
Marcus Johnson of Bowling Green.
Watch Marcus Johnson cook.
Look at that fade away right there.
Then look at him.
Take this dude on the other.
Pulls up for three.
Got it.
Wow.
Marcus Johnson and Andrew Meadow are on the Matt Jones All-American team so far this year in college basketball.
I don't know about Mullet guy, but that dude can play right there for bowling green.
was balling.
Yeah.
Well, the dude from the mulligan 18 points yesterday for Boise against a good Clemson team.
Marcus Johnson looks like a nose guard.
You put on a basketball court, but then he's so smooth.
He's like hitting stepback threes of the hand in his face.
So at 300-something pounds.
I'm going to be finding their games on ESPN Plus during the course of the year.
Who's next?
Junior.
Junior.
Go ahead, Jr.
Hey, guys, I certainly do believe that any of the four of you could whip,
Rob Bromley, but don't think for a minute that Rob Bromley don't think he can whip you,
so pot to learn.
That's my whiskey thief calling it.
That's a great point.
I think you're right about that.
Appreciate the call.
What about Tom Hart?
Oh, he'd whip all of us.
No.
Yeah.
You're giving up way too.
That's probably the easiest of anyone you know.
You're giving up way too quickly.
Come on.
You don't think I feel like Tom Hart, all five of us could take Tom Hart if need me.
I'm taking Tom Hart.
You're taking Tom Hart against you.
Oh, yeah.
No, self-confidence.
No, I mean, it's 20 years younger than me.
Definitely.
Tom, Jordan Cole, you've got to fight one to save the world.
Which one do you find out?
Tom.
Tom, Jordan Rogers and Cole Kublich are athletes.
You can give Jordan Nuggy, though, mess up that hair, throw him off his game.
There's no way I'm messing with Cole Kublich.
Oh, not a chance.
No way.
Not a chance.
Col Quilic will crush you.
Paul Febombom.
Yeah.
Come on.
Come on.
We can take Paul Feinbaum.
Come on.
Yeah.
We got him.
We got Paul Finebaum.
Paul Feinbaum.
Even Mario can take Paul Feinbaum.
I think even Billy can take Paul Feinbaum.
I would pay to see Billy versus Paul Fivebom.
Did you see the breaking news this morning?
They're saving the inside the NBA with Barclay, Kenny Smith, Shaq, and TNT is going to license it to ESPN.
Great.
So ESPN will have it.
It will be made by TNT.
and in exchange, TNT gets college football and college basketball games from ESPN.
Uh-huh.
So that was, it's like a trade they made.
So I like that.
That's great.
I mean, that show has become an icon.
You know, it's as big as the NBA is bigger than the NBA game that they're covering that night.
So I like that.
I was glad to hear that.
By the way, ESPN, don't film this, Mario, because I do work for them.
ESPN, a little message.
Do not, do not put Stephen A on that show.
Okay, it's perfect as it is.
Leave Stephen A off.
You don't need it.
You've got Barclay, Shaq, Kenny, and Ernie.
It's perfect.
Leave it alone.
Do not ruin it with Stephen A or Wilbon or any of those people.
The agreement's perfect as it is.
It's perfect.
It's still produced in Atlanta by the same people.
Don't touch the four.
Leave it alone.
Don't screw it up.
Court physical therapy.
Let's say you get in a fight with Rob Brumlin.
He might hurt you.
And then you need to go feel better.
So you go to court physical therapy and they'll take it and make it like it never even happened.
They'll help work you out.
You may have benefits for the rest of the year.
So if this fight scheduled for Thanksgiving, you can go.
Your deductible would be paid.
It's court physical therapy, KORT.com, 70 locations around the state.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on.
A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know.
