Starting point is 00:03:49 Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-2802287. It's Don Franklin's Wednesday show, getting you ready for Black Friday, 27 dealerships, across the state, Don Franklinado.com. Don Franklin is driven by family. The whole crew is here. We're in the studio in Lexington.
Starting point is 00:04:07 We have some breaking news. Rani Na-na-na. Brandon Stockton is still alive. Yay. Come on. Get the man around of applause. Yeah. Brandon Stockton is alive.
Starting point is 00:04:23 We also have one more set of breaking news. Oh, okay. Are you ready? Josh Kerry. It's still alive. It's also still alive. You know, those guys are survivors. They really are.
Starting point is 00:04:38 All right. So you talk to Brandon Stockton. I've got Brandon's cell phone number. So during the commercial break, I called him. And I guess there's a little piece of me was just hoping he was going to answer. Hope a big piece of he was hoping he was going to answer. More than a little piece. And he answered, and he's fine.
Starting point is 00:04:54 He still works at Don Franklin Otto in Glasgow. He's coaching down there in Glasgow. I don't know why that guy felt like he needed to tell us. that Brandon Stockton passed away, but he is alive. Did he think tubby chest bumped him that hard? I don't know. But luckily. What's your best Brandon Stockton memory?
Starting point is 00:05:08 Well, that's just said. I mean, that's everybody's memory. Is he chest when we beat Tennessee and he chest bumped tubby? That's everybody's better. Well, I remember Kentucky and Mr. Basketball? The game in Louisville at Freedom Hall were him and Carrier and Patrick Sparks the three Kentucky guys. Kentucky guys get that victory.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Yeah. All right. We do this every year. It's a high school Thanksgiving weekend high school semifinals. Yes. We're going to make our picks. Okay. You ready to go?
Starting point is 00:05:31 We'll start Class A. Raceland is that Country Day. Country Day is the one seed. Raceland's the four seed. Raceland, however, beat them 42 to five last year. Oh, it's a big detail. But Country Day is the one seed. Who you got?
Starting point is 00:05:44 I wear my Raceland Gillingham hat all summer long. I'm a big Raceland Ram fan. Let's go Rams. I'm taking Raceland. That kind of analysis. How could I pick against them? Let's go, Ryan. What about you, Shan?
Starting point is 00:05:55 Raceland may have won last year, but that doesn't matter. This is a new year. I'm going with Country. day. By the way, because of a good folks, the her leader, I can tell you where you can listen to all these games. This one is on cool hits 105-7. Well, good.
Starting point is 00:06:10 In case you want to listen to it. Number three-seated Campbellsville plays two-seed Sarah. You can listen to this on Hank the legend. Who you got? Campbellsville or Sarah? Sarah has never been this far in football. Chad Pennington's the coach. His son is the quarterback. They've
Starting point is 00:06:26 got some really good players this year, so I'm going to go, Sarah in the upset. They'd never been this far. They're not going any farther because Campbellville is going to beat them. I think Conway Twitty once said, I can tell you've never been this far before. Campbell'sville. I got relatives there. I'll take the Campbellsville, whatever. I'm not picking against the Sayre Spartans. I love the Chad Pennington story in that they have a football program now. I'm pulling for Sayer. Brock Kaufman's really good. Good for Brock Kaufman. Number two, A, number 10 seed, Somerset is at number one seat Owensboro Catholic. you can listen to the game on the Owensboro Catholic sports mix.
Starting point is 00:07:04 The Somerset, Don Franklin's. Who you got, Shannon? I'm going with Owensboro Catholic on this one. You can also listen on Lake Cumberland Sports.com. I'm going to take Owensboro Catholic. I hear they're really good. Like both these places, I'm going to go with Owensboro, though. I'll say Catholic takes this one.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Owensboro Calgary's got maybe the best player in the state in Brady Atwell. They're quarterback. So, yeah, I'm going on Oswald Catholic. Lexington Christian, assistant coach Maxwell. Duffy is at Beachwood tonight. In a big one, you can listen on the Beachwood Sports Network. I can't go against the Aussie.
Starting point is 00:07:37 I'm taking Max and Lexington Christian even though they cheat. Ryan, what about you? They just went to Mayfield and won at Mayfield. Now they have to go to Beachwood and win at Beachwood. I'm going LCA. Shannon. I love you, Max. But your team's going down tonight because Beachwood's going to be you.
Starting point is 00:07:54 And you're not going on the trouble. He's such a heel. He's just looking for trouble. We know I'm picking Max. They went down to Mayfield and did what nobody's done. He maybe even got close to a few fisticuffs. Came back and they're going to handle each win next. If Max loses, though, he gets to go on the KSR trip. If he wins, he doesn't.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Yeah. 17-seeded Lexington Catholic, upset Bell County. Boo. In the last round, they play one-seeded Christian Academy of Louisville. No offense to my LC Catholic friends, the Christian Academy rolls. What do you got? I'll go with Catholic. Going with the local team.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Shannon. Christian Academy. Does Earl still coach at Christian Academy? I don't think so. No. I'm going Christian Academy a little. Number seven. Wow.
Starting point is 00:08:38 So if he did coach, you wouldn't be. I was going to go to Lexington Academy. Okay, all right. Number seven seed, Belfrey plays two, five seed Union County. The game is on Facebook, according to this. Brandon Stockton's posting. He's going to Facebook. And you can see Belfrey Union County.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Who you got, right? Troy Howell posted that Belfry. is closer to Canada than it is to Union County High School. That's not true. That's what he said. He says closer to Canada. The border to Canada. Belfry's closer to the Canada border than it is to Union County.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Wow. That's an amazing stat. And so who wins? Belfry traveling like that. They're not going that way to lose. I was going to pick Belfry, but if you got to go all the way to Canada to play, am I taking Union County. I've been to a pig factory there.
Starting point is 00:09:25 What do you got? That's close to my hometown. I'm rolling with Union County. All right, what do you got, Shannon? Union County. That's way too far for them. Foray, Covington Catholic plays Franklin County. You can listen to the game on the Frankfurt Plant Board Channel 10.
Starting point is 00:09:41 That's not even a channel. That's what it says. You go to YouTube, Frankfurt Plant Board Channel 10 is where this game is. Who you got? CuffCath just beat Boyle County, but Franklin County is really, really good. Nobody talks about them. I'm going Franklin County. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:59 What about you? It's a hangover game for Covecath. Franklin County wins this one. Shannon. Give me Franklin County on this one. You're going to go with the suite. I spend a lot of time on the plant board channel. And I know they've been picking Franklin County, so I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Number four seed, C, Corbyn, is that Paduca Tilman? You can watch it on Patuca. Padooka, Paducahielman Athletics. com. Give me Corbin. Paducah Tilman, the new number one in the KSR top 25. That's true. But first, not Boyle County number one all year.
Starting point is 00:10:30 I'll roll with them. Yeah, we love our friends at Corbyn, but Paduca is, like, become a bunch of kids from Chattanooga transferred there, and they're really, really good. Don't give away the secrets. Don't give away the secrets. Shannon, you got, who you got? Give me Patuca, as you call them.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Patuca Tilly. In 5A, number seven-seat Highlands goes to number one-seat Cooper. You can listen to it on 859 Sports Radio.com. Give me Cooper, Shannon. Highlands. Highlands. Let's go with the Highlands. Great neighborhood in Louisville. Drew, that's not where this school is. But go ahead. Drew. I'll go with Cooper. Highlands has a tight end. We wears number 22 and his name is Lorenzen. I'm going Highland.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Oh, wait. Did I pick against little, I'm changing it. I'm Highland. Taden Lorenzen. In the Battle of Warren County, number five, Bowling Green at number two, South Warren, you can turn it on to Sporting Times. ST Fanclub.com and get the game tonight. I'm going to take South Warren, who you got, right? Yeah, this is a tough battle of Bowling Green. Both teams are really good. I'm going bowling green.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I'm going bowling green. All right, there you go. Frederick Douglas is the four-seated 6A against Trinity. I think Fox 56 is showing this instead of the Super Bowl. Instead of the NFL playoffs. No, it's on gilcod.com. What is Gilcod.com? It's like a little production company.
Starting point is 00:11:55 They do a lot of Lexington. game events. Why is it called gilcod.com? I don't know why they call it that, but they do all the, even middle school events. Are you on Gil-C-C-O-C-C-O-D? How do you spell Gil-Cod? G-I-L-C-C-O-D-com. GIL-COD. It goes to nothing. Can't reach this page. All right. So you can't watch this game. You better show up because it will not be on Gil-Cod. Douglas or Trinity? Who you got? Oh, Trinity got Douglas the last time they played. Douglas is getting them back. And if I can find it. find it, I will watch this on Gilcod TV. You're not going to find it. There's nothing to see.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Maybe Baller TV. What do you got, Brian? You know who I'm taking. Roll, Douglas roll. Let's go. Shannon. Trinity's going to win this one, Ryan. Sorry. All right. So here's the thing. If Douglas wins, Ryan has to fly home early from the trip, which I don't want. So no offense, I'm picking Trinity because I don't want to try to find you a flight from Bardstown or from Boise to fly back. He does this every trip, right? What?
Starting point is 00:12:56 flies home early. He does. But it's usually an emergency. I don't want it to be because it's gilcad.com has gone off. Why can't you just watch it on gilcad.com? We're watching the car. No. I'm calling.
Starting point is 00:13:13 All right. What's the final one? Ryle and Great Crossing. Rile and Great Crossing. I'll have to look where we watch it, Shannon. What do you got? Give me rile, whatever that is. Ryle.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Do you know what that is? It's a good kind of bread. Yeah, that's what it sounds like. You get some rile bread. What do you got? Wasn't Great Crossing in the Fox 56 basketball game? They were. See, there's the national attention around them right now.
Starting point is 00:13:36 They're going to capitalize on it and win this game. Yeah, there's no Malichai Marino on the Great Crossing football team. That's fine. I'm going to take Ryle as well. I can't figure out where this game is. You lift us hanging. We know where every game you can see it with the Rial. Except I don't know where Gilcott is, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:13:51 I don't know. Why did this just, it's like the Herald Leader website got flooded with traffic and it went away. Let's go to Andy. What's up, Andy? Hey, what's going on, guys? When I die, I hope I do it during this show because it seems like people die, they come back to life before you're on this show. It's true, Andy. That's a good point. Hey, just a couple quick things about the game last night. Overall, long term, for sure, I was not disappointed. I knew we'd probably have a code shooting game at some point. wouldn't sure win.
Starting point is 00:14:29 But my main long-term concern is the free-throw shooting. That's got to get better. We'd have probably covered the last night if we would just hit the free throws a little better. But this is really the first game where we haven't shot free throws well, though, right? So, like, I don't feel like that's a huge issue. Yeah, and it was the big. Pope did say it was talking about Murray Williams,
Starting point is 00:14:55 and it was a bad game for him. I hope said in two months you're going to see a whole different version of Marry Williams. I mean, it's not odd to me yet. Yeah, I appreciate it, Andy. Thank you very much. I'm sitting here looking. I'm trying to go, okay, good grief, you're right. The ads on this website on Harold is just awful.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Good night. Team one sports.com for Ryle versus Great Crossing. Why doesn't Gil-Cod work? I don't know. I'm sorry. I said it wrong. It's not Gilcod, Shannon. Well, that might help.
Starting point is 00:15:28 It's Glycod. G-L-I-C-O-D dot com. Okay, there it is. It's on Gly-Cod. Sorry to get. Oh, look at the size sign. I'll be watching Douglas. Yeah, Joe Cox and Joey Hamilton are on the call tonight.
Starting point is 00:15:43 If anybody wants gilcod.com that's available. We just gave you a good plug. Yeah, I got a nice bump today if you want it. Let's go on. Oh, ahead, Doug. What's up, Doug? Hey, it's Doug in Spokane, guys. I was wondering, what's your guys is scheduled for when you get into Seattle?
Starting point is 00:16:02 Have you got a place to do the pre-game show yet? No, we're actively working. We'll have a place and we will announce it. And there is a chance. There's snow on some of the path. The path I was going to take through Salt Lake is having a snowstorm. So there's a world in which we come through Spokane instead. So if we do, hopefully you can see us.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Well, and I'm driving over to Seattle next Friday to come. come to the game and hopefully meet up with you guys wherever you're going to be. Okay. Well, we won't be there Friday. We'll be there Saturday. Hopefully Friday we will either be in Spokane or in Eugene, Oregon. I'm not sure yet. It depends on the snow in Salt Lake.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Okay. And any chance you suppose coach will do any kind of signings after the game out here? I doubt it. They'll probably fly home as soon as the game's over. So I think that would be unlikely. But I hope to see you in Seattle. Thank you. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:17:02 I don't know if you guys remember or not, but I grew up in Barberville. All right. Well, I didn't remember that, but I appreciate it. Stop overpaying for sunglasses. If you're tired of buying expensive sunglasses, only to lose or break them, go to Shady Rays. An independent American-owned company started right here in Kentucky. Last night, a blown call changed a game.
Starting point is 00:17:45 This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending. Opinions are flying. And nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode we're cutting through the north. breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines.
Starting point is 00:18:00 We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:18:35 What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast, Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I gather.
Starting point is 00:18:55 manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nasree. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing.
Starting point is 00:19:20 That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball like. After you go through a training camp with that, I said, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone, it's Ryder Strong and Will Ferdell from PodMeets World. And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast. We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV, who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors, and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
Starting point is 00:19:58 So yeah, now we're experts. I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge. That is the point of the show. I'm just going to remind you. I have watched some survivor. I obviously haven't watched enough. Did people not like it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Just because we? Yeah. We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of, ha, who. Ha, ha, who. Again, we are experts. So make sure to tune into Pod Meets Twirled for all our Survivor 50 takes. Listen to PodMeets Twirled on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Agency, the ability to know that we're the experts in our own body. On the podcast, cultivating her space, Dr. Dom and Terry Lomax create a space where black women can show up fully and be heard. I wholeheartedly think, you know, you hit 30. You shouldn't have to share one with anybody. Mm-hmm. from navigating friendships and healing to setting boundaries and prioritizing your mental health. These are real honest conversations. We don't always get to have out loud.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Totally unreasonable with different parts of life, right? Like, oh, have all three meals and make sure you're mindful during all of them? Absolutely not. During one meal, I'm standing. I'm standing and handing my children food. Because healing, empowerment, and resilience aren't just ideas, their practices. and this mental health awareness month, there's no better time to pour back into yourself.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Listen to cultivating her space on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, guys? This is Clever Taylor the Fourth. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue with 42. Hey, Brett.
Starting point is 00:22:02 My mama want you to weigh better. What? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Brandon Stockton's theme song there. It's still alive. He's still with us. Also the coach of like the Glasgow basketball basketball basketball.
Starting point is 00:22:29 You had his phone blowing up. That's why I had my doubts. Yeah. All right. So we got a couple comments here. First of all, there is a Frankfurt plant board channel. It is channel 10. They actually, according to one person, Matt, Frankfurt plant board cable 10 is actually
Starting point is 00:22:45 a very good channel. They have lots of good things for the community. I don't think you should make fun of it. I think they've been doing it even when I worked in TV 20 years ago. They beat you in the ratings, right? Probably. The Frankfurt plant board. Shannon, you said someone called about Gilcod.
Starting point is 00:23:00 It was very upset that you got the website wrong. And to quote him, he said, it's glycod.com. Matt sounds like a dumbass. Wow. And hung up the phone. Hung up the phone. Before I could even say, well, would you like to come on the air? Nope.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Gone. Now, I don't know if this is true, but this is what someone writes on the text machine, 772-7524. One person writes, Matt, I think Ryan got fooled. by believing the Canada stat. I believe the guy was talking about there's a town in Pike County called Canada. And it's closer to the town in Pike County
Starting point is 00:23:37 than it is Union County. No. Could that be real? Is that possible? You know, when he said it, it seems unbelievable, but I was trying to look at the map. Why do you say no? Ryan, are you certain the stat is right?
Starting point is 00:23:48 I'm going to read it here. Okay. I kind of believe Ryan. Belfrey High School is closer to Canada, 385 miles, and they are to Union County High School, 387 miles, where they play next week in the 3A semifinals in Morgantown, Kentucky. And who are you quoting? Troy Howell.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Okay. The KSR. Yeah. All right. That is an amazing statistic. I know. I feel like there was a playoff game last year where this came up again with different team.
Starting point is 00:24:12 Maybe they were going to Paducah and one of those things, but that's kind of why when Ryan said it, it triggered something there. Belfrey to Union County, that is a heck of a drive. Yes. Because there ain't no easy way to. get to either of those places. It's not like none of those, neither of those places is on the main road. I mean, we've been to Belfrey.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Belfrey, you go to Pikeville and then take a left and you still got a while to go, right? Like, it's not close. Madisonville had to play a team last year like that, and I'm convinced we weren't we're in state if not for the traveling. Traveling's big part of it's why you need home field you don't need home. Speaking of Pikeville,
Starting point is 00:24:49 did you hear Heather's call last night? I did hear Heather's call. It was a great call. Heather's call on the post game show was an epic call. It was. I asked people, first of all, Shannon, I asked people to, they had to tell me what they were thankful for and it couldn't be their family. But Billy forgot to switch the show over to the post game. And so instead, Glenn Beck ran for a few minutes.
Starting point is 00:25:12 And Glenn Beck was ranting against Walmart DEI. And so people thought that's what I was doing, that I'd come on the air ranting about Walmart DEI. That's not what I would have done. It got fixed. I want to talk about Billy in a second. But Heather called... So at first people didn't rise
Starting point is 00:25:30 what they were supposed to do, but then they did. Would you like to know what Heather's answer was for the thing she's most thankful for besides her family? Yeah. Mountain Dew. She was from Pikeville? She's from Pikeville.
Starting point is 00:25:42 And she said, Beely, don't spoil the ending of dancing with the stars because Billy was going to say who won. And then she said the thing she was most thankful in the world. world. She said, if I'm honest, is Mountain Dew. And I give her credit for that because at least she was honest. Saw your tweet about that. That's, it's pretty outright. You got to really love Mountain Dew.
Starting point is 00:26:04 It made me think, like, where would you put like nerds in your list? Nerd Gummy Clusters? Yeah, yeah, the nerd gummy clusters. Top 20. I mean, get to get outside of my family and friends. Nerd gummy clusters are up there. So I wondered how crazy it really was. I mean, she said she loved Mountain Dew. Then so Billy, Shannon, this is the part I wanted your take on. So once I found out we had been preempted by Glenn Beck for a little while, I was like, Billy, why'd you do that? And Billy's answer was, I take responsibility, but I will not apologize. Yep. I'm not really quite sure what that even means.
Starting point is 00:26:40 I don't know what it means either. It sounds like a guy who would be willing to do it again. Like if you get out of hand, he basically said, he basically said, I take responsibility, but I will not apologize. Now, that's a distinction I don't understand. If he wants to say it's not his fault, fine. But how do you take responsibility but don't apologize? Because he doesn't regret it. Shannon made the point.
Starting point is 00:27:03 He'll do it again. And then he'll take responsibility again and say deal with it. So that's basically him acknowledging I did it. No remorse. And I'll do it again. And I'll do it again. That's the only way I can interpret it. I want you to go get Billy because I had an email come in last night from a listener.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Do we need the female mic turned on? About Billy. that I want to read. But until then, let's go to Corey. Go ahead, Corey. You got to steal my thunder. I'm actually going to. The game last night, Matt, you said something a couple years ago when we were playing
Starting point is 00:27:41 these tight games. We'd really push it on the throat. I agree. Yes. He did that last night. They did. You know, it wasn't the best game, but you could take it from that. And then one thing from yesterday's show, Matt, did you see that the Rock had a follow
Starting point is 00:27:59 up on singing in the movie theaters? No, what did he say? It doesn't matter if you saw what the Rock said. Okay, stop and hang up on this guy. Yes. No, that was a Mike Pratt line. Mike Pratt used to say that he really thought the 2015 team was special because when they got it to nine, they'd get it to 15. And his view was, once you get it to 15, most teams end up giving up at that point.
Starting point is 00:28:23 So do you think this team has that in them? I do. I do too. I do. Now, Billy, I want to read you this. First of all, explain why you said it was your response. You take responsibility, but you weren't sorry. Well, I'm sorry that I'm not sorry, Matt. There are a lot of, as I said last night, irons in the fire.
Starting point is 00:28:39 I will fall on the sword and take responsibility for not getting the show on the air on time, but I will not apologize. Sounds to me like he is falling on the sword. Do you think he's falling on the sword when he says that? No, like he's touching the sword, but he's not falling on it. He's like massaging the sword. All right, so this comes from a listener. I'm not going to say his name because I don't want you to hold it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Matt, you may not care about this. because you all have plenty of listeners. First of all, I do care about it. I care about all of our listeners. But I've listened to you all for the full time you've been on. And a lot of my friends have quit in the last month or two. And it's all because of that smart-ellic little punk kid. Wow.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Whoa. You put in charge of him way too much and it's getting ridiculous. He thinks he's better than everybody in the world. Last night, he wouldn't apologize for stuff. He done acts like he don't have anything that's required. And then everything he does is perfectly correct. Maybe you like controversy, but you need to get his stupid little mouth pared down. Goodness.
Starting point is 00:29:44 That's strong. Billy response? Billy? Well, they don't hate nobody's Matt. That's true. John F. Candy said dogs don't bark at park cars. That's right. And so it seems to be working out pretty well so far.
Starting point is 00:29:59 So that guy can eat it. And I'm sure he'll still be listening. So, I mean, I'm going to stand up. for Billy too, man. You can't talk like that about one of our own. Come on. Well, he said at the end, I like you guys because you're funny and sometimes controversial, but we have to do something about Billy. What does that mean? What are you going to do, Matt? I'm not going to do anything. This is not me. This is what this person said. Okay. So, Billy, I'm going to take up for you. You explain to me later. You don't think it was your fault. You just didn't want to throw the person whose fault it was
Starting point is 00:30:30 under the bus. Right. Right. I don't think that's a great teammate. So you're taking responsibility. But what are you not going to do? I will not apologize. Billy, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Same to you, Matt. We'll take a break, you, Billy. This is KSR. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Solid job with the songs today. Thank you. Shannon always brings it. I am going to ask you, before we go, in the last segment, to do the two days into college.
Starting point is 00:31:05 that I was singing. The one that the TikTok guy does, the Jared McCain. Okay. I don't really, yeah. Just look it up. Just look up two days into college and three lectures. You'll find it. You'll see what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:31:16 859-280-2287. Don Franklin, Glasgow, largest inventory of new used and certified pre-owned vehicles in the state. 5,000 vehicles at Don Franklin Auto.com. Enjoy a holiday, Black Friday savings event all month long at Don Franklin. We thank you. Thank them for having the show today, letting us do it here in studio right before Thanksgiving. One person writes, Matt, I'm Team Billy. He's easily my fifth favorite person on the show.
Starting point is 00:31:48 And I love all of you guys, including him. That's nice. One person writes, Matt, I'm mad about the guy who said that about it, Billy. If I could find him, I would scream at him. Billy is part of our family. That's right. We can do it to each other, but we don't let somebody else do it to him. It's very nice.
Starting point is 00:32:02 I want to let's talk just a little bit about schedule for what's coming up because there's a lot going on. So this will be our last morning show for the week. We will not have a morning show on Thursday and Friday. We have Best ofs. Shannon, what did you pick for the best of? Billy actually did it. So ask Billy. You don't know?
Starting point is 00:32:16 Okay. So Thursday and Friday we have best ups. But we do a pregame show Friday night for the game. The game Friday night is at 7 o'clock against Georgia State. So our pregame will be at 4.30. Right. So we will be at the bar. pregame at 430. Bring your family out.
Starting point is 00:32:34 There's also, I think, an Amazon game, an NFL game or something that day. Oh, there is. The Raiders and the Chiefs or something like that. And then, of course, we'll have the game Friday night. Then Saturday, the pregame is at 8 a.m. for Kentucky Louisville. Yes. Eight to 10 a.m. The bar is opening at 9 for breakfast.
Starting point is 00:32:54 So we will not be open for the first hour from 8 to 9. but if you want to come and sit in, I'll let you, but the restaurant will not open until nine. So that's, but the pregame will start from 8 to 10. Then Sunday is my NFL show at the Bengals at Jefferson Social. So for those of you in Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati, I'd love to have you come and just say hello. The ESPN folks will be there. We'll be at Jefferson Social next to the, it's in between the baseball and the football stadium. but I will be there from 10 to 1
Starting point is 00:33:28 and then all of us are going to be there. Yes. You'll be there Shannon, Drew, because we, the moment that show is over are getting in the van to take off to go to Seattle. Heading out. So if you want to say goodbye, wave as we get in the car to drive off to Seattle.
Starting point is 00:33:46 We are leaving from that show Sunday at 1 o'clock. Shannon and I will be in the back of the van waving at everyone as a goodbye as we leave the Cincinnati tailgating scene as we just take off into whatever parts the country we're going to end up. Then on Monday, we will be in Iowa City. We already have our location. Okay. Pizza Ranch. Yes. Pizza Ranch has offered us to host the show Monday morning. So Pizza Ranch, I will tweet out the address, but we will be doing our show and it is open to the public at Pizza Ranch in Iowa City. Hopefully someone comes. We've got to keep our street going.
Starting point is 00:34:25 So if you're in Iowa City, we will see you Monday morning at Pizza Ranch. That's central time. So that would be 9 a.m. Well, people understand the manager to the Pizza Ranch in Iowa City reached out to you guys, invited you to come in. I don't know how they heard. But somebody was like, hey, here you're going to be in Iowa City and I hear you like Pizza Ranch. Would you like to do your show at the Pizza Ranch? Yes, we would.
Starting point is 00:34:46 I think the answer to that question is yes, Drew, and that's what we're going to do. I'll do just a Pizza Ranch only tour. I'll go across the country to you all just hitting Pizza Ranches. then we'll come home. So we will see you there on Monday. So a lot of chances to come see us over the next few days, if you would like. Will, go ahead, Will. Go ahead. Hello. Oh, yeah. Hey, Matt, real quick. I've been watching a few games. I don't know if they play Tennessee twice or Auburn twice or Alabama twice. They play Tennessee. They play Tennessee and Alabama. And I want to say Georgia. Is that the other one we play twice? I think it's it's it's it's Tennessee Alabama and then somebody that's not as good but we play
Starting point is 00:35:29 I think it's Georgia I think that's who we play twice this year well what I'm getting at is I'm sure you've you've noticed it too SEC's got some pretty good it's probably sweet 16 teams and if we just say if we had if we played them twice if you can split between because we're not playing all of them twice like you said but if you can split the ones that you're just said Tennessee and Alabama, I'll take that all day long. I'll take it all day long. Sure. And then if you go through, I guess, the Auburn,
Starting point is 00:36:03 but what's the Auburn game real quick? The Auburn game, I believe, is here. Or no, it's there. I think we host Auburn. No, we host Auburn. So we have Auburn and Arkansas. The only time we play him is here. And Vandy's the.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Okay, that is awesome. So it's Tennessee, Vandy, and Alabama? I believe so. So Tennessee, Vandy, Alabama. That awesome. Mark this down on the Arkansas game. This is coach a little Caliperall. That's what I call him.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I am so glad he's gone. I can just jump off a bridge. But anyway, what I'm getting at is this is what's going to happen. Arkansas is going to be maybe up four or five or four minutes ago. And he's going to try to do something called coaching. And that's when it explodes on him. All right. So, we'll see.
Starting point is 00:36:48 I haven't said that, I want to wish you guys a happy Trump's getting. and a mega Christmas. Oh, goodness. I appreciate the call. It was a good call till right then. Four years of that, Shannon. Yep, got to get used to it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Hopefully people just don't care as much in a year or two. Unless you want to jump on that cruise, go around the world. No. I can't be out of boat that long. Well, I'm fine. Like, it's just life. Like, you know, you have to, people said when Biden won, they're like, world's going in.
Starting point is 00:37:19 It'll be fine. We'll be fine. We'll get through it. Right? Like my side, they had to deal with Biden for four years. I have to deal with Trump. It's the way it goes. My hope is, though, after this four years, we get back to where we don't hate each other
Starting point is 00:37:31 and that people don't say. I mean, imagine if I called you and said, happy Biden giving. You'd be like, what? I do have one question for you. Yes, please. It seems like your take on wanting them to go away, away, away. It's not catching on yet. I will say I hear people trying it.
Starting point is 00:37:51 The collective Rupp Arena is not participating, but there are pockets of it. They should be. Why not? It's awesome. I'm trying to help us be cool. Yeah. We should give it a shot. Give it a shot. All right. Let's try, Ethan. Ethan, go ahead. By the way, we haven't talked about UK of L, which is Saturday. But we'll do that next segment. Go ahead, Ethan. Hey, Matt, how many teams would you pick over Kentucky in a straight up money line bet in basketball? Are we playing today or in March?
Starting point is 00:38:25 Let's play in 1st of January. First of January. All right. So I would take, in a straight up money line bet, I would take, right now I would take Kansas. I would take Auburn. I watched all of Auburn last night. My goodness. I would take Kansas.
Starting point is 00:38:43 I would take Auburn and I would probably take Alabama. So I would take, and maybe Tennessee. I know three of those are SEC teams, but that's kind of where I think it is. right now. On a neutral court, I'd probably take those four against Kentucky. I think right now we're the fifth best team that I've seen. But if it's at Rupp, I'm taking Kentucky over all of them. And if we're on the road, there's probably another 10 teams that I think we're susceptible to. So that's where I would be right now. I think that's fair. I think we could beat Yukon as well. Oh, today we certainly could. They've looked at.
Starting point is 00:39:21 It looked awful in the last week. I agree with it. So appreciate the call. That's kind of where I am right now. Is there anybody else you would add to that list? No, but I was going to bring up at some point today. I didn't get to watch all the craziness of college basketball, but I did stay up for Auburn, UNC.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Auburn is a problem. And Johnny Broome looks like he's gotten even, or Jonah Broome, it looks like he's gotten even better than he's been in years past. They look very good. Yeah, I agree. They do. Where would you put Gonzaga on your list? That's true.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Gonzaga might be fifth. I forgot about them. Yeah. Gonzag is there too. So then I would put a sixth because I think Gonzag's, we'll find out here in a couple weeks, but I think Gonzag is really good too. Attention bourbon lovers. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
Starting point is 00:41:48 His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall.
Starting point is 00:42:08 And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball, like,
Starting point is 00:42:24 after you go through a training camp with that, I said, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone, it's Ryder Strong, and Will Ferdell from PodMeets World.
Starting point is 00:42:46 And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast. We're two men who were completely clueless to reality, TV, who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors, and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor. So yeah, now we're experts. I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge. That is the point of the show. I'm just going to remind you, I have watched some Survivor. I obviously haven't watched enough. Did people not like it? Yeah. Yeah. We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay to the desperate plea as a finalist to a bunch of

Totally unreasonable with different parts of life, right? Like, oh, have all three meals and make sure you're mindful during all of them? Absolutely not. During one meal, I'm standing.

What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the Fourth. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker...
Starting point is 00:44:50 You know these kids. This linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue of 42. Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her. What?
Starting point is 00:45:09 Hey, Ms. Parker. Listen to the Clifford show on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. So have you ever heard this before? Never. I'm hearing it for the first time. Never heard it. heard you ever heard it shan no no first time drew i know you yeah i have see this is a great example of how like our culture is completely things can be massive and then there's a whole group of people that have
Starting point is 00:45:37 no idea oh yeah this was probably for like a year ago probably like the biggest thing on ticot where people doing this right and this basketball player we were talking about jerry mccane he was like he did it and it became like a massive thing and nobody like you don't you never even heard of never even heard of it and if you weren't on ticot a lot of you listening have never heard of yeah here's the only reason i say this the tick talk world was completely foreign to me we brought mario in to try to have a presence yes we have a account called ksr the show to mario's credit we almost have 15 000 followers already wow like he's built it up but it's fascinating to me to see what works on it and what doesn't uh-huh okay so
Starting point is 00:46:22 we put up a video yesterday of me talking about Jared McCain on the show yesterday. Yeah. It's going to be our second biggest video of all time. It's going to end up with 7,800,000 views. You know what our biggest one was? The U.S. That's going to be third. Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Our biggest one, me talking about Brony James. Oh, yeah. Now, you know what? It doesn't do well. Stuff about you, like Mark Pope. Like videos of Mark Pope or the players don't do very well. Videos of me talking about Mark Pope do better than Mark Pope. Why?
Starting point is 00:47:04 I don't understand. Why would people rather hear announcers talk about it? So, like, it's fascinating to watch because watching those video numbers, we put a Mark Pope quote from a press conference, 5,000 views. We put me commenting on a Mark Pope video, 50,000. Wow. We put me commenting on Dion Sanders, 500,000 views. It just goes to show how weird like our society is now in some ways.
Starting point is 00:47:38 We care more about commentary than the actual news itself, which the political people learned along. You want to know why Stephen A is on your... That's just getting ready to say. You know I know why Stephen A is on your TV? Because people would rather hear Stephen A talk about the news than watch the news. They'd rather hear Sean Hannity talk about the news than watch the news. And I just find that fascinating, Drew.
Starting point is 00:48:04 And I think TikTok has made that the most clear to me. Yeah, that's very weird. I know if at least when you talk about Brony or you bring that song in, TikTok will just throw you in a random algorithm. They'll take your whole new world of TikTok because they're big national trends. But with the Pope thing, that is bizarre. I don't know why you'd rather hear. us yap about what he said instead of just go out my unplugged I can't hear anything uh no i don't know I don't know why you'd rather hear us and talk about mark pope I hear nothing in my headphones okay but
Starting point is 00:48:32 then you fix that all right so the it is an unbelievable phenomenon to watch the brawny thing we're going to have a million views on that brownie video because that's something just because it's something people talk nationwide and the younger audience realize how people sort of manipulate the topics that people are interested. Yeah. TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. If you talk, they decide what we hear. So they decided the brainy video was everybody was going to see it.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Uh-huh. And Shannon, I just think that's really interesting and odd. Yeah. They're force feeding you what they want you to hear. That's exactly right. That can't be good. That can't be good. But it's what it is.
Starting point is 00:49:18 They will, they will. It's like Elon bought Twitter. I have to see Elon. Like they won't even, like I can't not. He just shows up on your timeline and there's nothing you can do about it. That and ads for toys that just won't stop popping up. How many times have you seen the Cheech and Chong Gummies at? Yeah, I mean, that's everywhere.
Starting point is 00:49:38 It's everywhere. And now at least I guess they're paying for that. It's just that's a really weird sort of interesting thing to me. And our TikTok account has probably showed it to me more than anything. UK federal credit unions of the official credit union university, Kentucky, serving the UK community since 1937 and supporting the educational needs if you're a student or even if you just want to be able to make money with your money. Open a new checking account and earn $200 for every $100 for you and $100 for you and $100
Starting point is 00:50:10 for your choice of three local charities. There's a UKFCU branch near you and one on 201 Bryant Drive in Nicholsville. It's UKFCU.org. Kentucky Louisville, how confident do you feel about it? I'm maybe 50-50, to be honest, because Louisville seems to, even though they've been struggling here in the second half of the season, we've really been struggling. I mean, Matt, we had the ball first and go up in the five again. Was that five time out of the last six games? We can't score from the five-yard line. We're still having issues on offense.
Starting point is 00:50:44 We can't score over 20 points. We're throwing a new quarterback out there. So I'm kind of in the middle. right now. I'm not in the middle. We're winning money line bet. It's Louisville. We always beat Louisville. We're never giving them that Governor's Cup back. Sure, they've had a few big wins. Clemson was impressive,
Starting point is 00:50:59 but that defense is still very vulnerable and I'm excited for the cutter-bowley experience to carve them up. Anyone in that locker room, if you care at all about UK football and everything you've been through, you'll pick yourself up and kick Louisville's ass on Saturday and I'm expecting to see it. It's the first time I've ever picked Louisville.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Yeah. The heral leader does that thing where they write you and they ask for or the media's pick. I pick Louisville. I don't know why. I just don't like the vibes. You know, I just don't like the vibes I hear from Lexington. I mean, I'm not going to be shocked if we win because I think Louisville has a brain fart
Starting point is 00:51:33 when it comes to these games against us. But I just don't like, just don't like what I hear. Louisville should have won the game last year. They had a better team than Kentucky last year, but Kentucky went over there with a chip on their shoulder and won the game. That's what they need to bring Saturday, man. I hope we do, but I'm not confident. Ron, go ahead, Ron.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Ron, yes. Yeah, two things. People don't want information. They want affirmation on what you were just talking about. I agree with that, actually. When it heard that said a while ago, and I think that's very poignant across news. The other thing is Stoops,
Starting point is 00:52:17 if he wants to continue to play Big Ten style football or this style that he wants to play, we've got to get our NIL direction to concentrate on those parts of football. The lines, specifically, the lines. I mean, I hear these coaches talk about, you know, free agency and stuff like salary cap. Like, if it's going to operate like that,
Starting point is 00:52:41 we've got to get our line. I think you're exactly right. I appreciate the call. I think you hit the nail on the head, and if he comes back, that's got to be his focus. Karen, what do you got, Karen? Karen. We're on high school class semifinals, in your opinion on the RPI that Belfrey has to travel almost 400 miles to play. Yeah, I don't know how they come up with it. I mean, they have to figure
Starting point is 00:53:17 like they're trying to make it fair because they were getting these state championship games that were complete blowouts every year. So they tried to make it to where they, do that to where it'll be a better championship game. But as to whether or not it's can, like, figured out correctly, I can, I don't know because I don't know enough about it. Okay. I appreciate the call. Sounds like she's doing stuff there in the background.
Starting point is 00:53:40 Thanksgiving dishes ready. Cooking and all that. All right. Let's do our draft king's pick of the day real quick.
