Starting point is 00:00:00 Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

Starting point is 00:01:14 We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue 42. A rep. My mama want you to wave at her.
Starting point is 00:01:30 What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clifford Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHart Podcasts presents soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:49 This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer.
Starting point is 00:02:01 games in the back of my Honda Odyssey with all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they hit a bogo. Well, then you got them. Listen to soccer moms on the I-heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be?
Starting point is 00:02:20 I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS. Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to futas to scheduling sacks. Wait, what sacks? Is it just me or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes? They say we can't polish a turn, but we're sure going to try.
Starting point is 00:02:41 So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:03:42 Stockton Mortgage, NMLS 8259-Equal housing lender, NMLS Consumer Access.org. Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. It is Wings Day. Got some fellas just came in here for Dollar Wings. I assume that's right, isn't it? Yeah, it's a good perfect day. And also our pregame show starts at 5.30 today here for Kentucky and Colgate.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Make sure to get here and get your spot early for the very rare. You get a game day and a Wings Day that come together as one. And you get that today. So, you know, that's good. We used to seem to play on Wednesdays a little more often. Yeah, now it's mostly Tuesdays. Now it's mostly Tuesdays. 859-280-2287.
Starting point is 00:04:27 One person writes, Matt, do we think Lamont-Bott, Butler? place tonight, yes or no? Drew? I'm going to go no just because Colgate's 2 and 8. You know what the injury has? They're 2 and 8? Yeah, they're not right. Oh, that's not good. Yeah. They beat UNC Wilmington. That's impressive. Yeah, well, they beat us last year, so there you go. They're not a good team. So I don't think you should push him tonight unless he's just fully healthy, which I wouldn't expect since he didn't be good to have him for Louisville, though, Saturday. Yeah, you don't really need him tonight, you need him for Louisville. So is this a game where Travis Perry actually going to get some back up? I think he did minutes.
Starting point is 00:04:59 I think so, too. Yeah, if you don't have Lamont Butler, you probably start Robinson at the point guard, and then Travis Perry would be the backup. I think that's probably what you would do there, right? I think it's a great opportunity, you know, to get Travis a lot of minutes and get him, you know, in the flow a little bit tonight. Yeah. Can we do some gossiping? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Shannon, would you like to gossip? Let's go. I have two really good stories that are kind of gossipy, and granted, you know, we shouldn't gossip. You know what I mean? Like you shouldn't whisper, you shouldn't gossip. But sometimes I got to admit, gossip's kind of interesting. I'm going to do two different stories. Let's start with Joe Burrow.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Okay. All right, so Joe Burroughs playing the football. He's playing against the Cowboys. Yeah. He's going, here we go. Hut, hut, throwing. That game's in Dallas. His home is in Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:05:49 While the game's going on, somebody tries to break into his house. That's not good. No, it's not. I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often. Happened to Mahomes. happened to Kelsey. Now it's happened to Burrow. I think this idea of guys playing a game
Starting point is 00:06:01 and then people break into their house during the game, we're going to have to watch this. Sure. Have you seen a few weeks ago, the leagues warned all their players when you're on road trips, hire extra security because they think they're being targeted. They think that's happening.
Starting point is 00:06:11 So that is in and of itself a little troubling, right? But then, how do the police know Burroughs' home gets broken into? A woman calls 911. Now, Burrow has a fiancé. his name her name is olivia person who calls 911 name olivia makes sense right you assume fiance called 911 fiance's there in the house oh no you'd be wrong oh no different olivia this olivia is a s i swimsuit model not his fiance she calls she pulled up to the house sees it's broken in calls the police and say, what should I do?
Starting point is 00:06:57 Of course, the internet starts roaming and going, why is Olivia S.I. Supermodel calling when Joe Burrow is engaged to Olivia other person. She tells the police she is, quote, employed by Joe Burrow, and said that she's staying at his house. She's house sitting. She's house sitting. So here's my question. engaged,
Starting point is 00:07:24 woman with same name, who was also a swimsuit model and has 3 million Instagram followers, what could she be employed doing in Cincinnati at his house at 9 o'clock at night? The internet is a buzz.
Starting point is 00:07:42 What do you think, Drew? I'm with the internet. I've been a buzz about this too. It's very suspicious. The best case scenario for Joe Burrow is like Ryan said, he somehow managed to hire a model to be his house sitter, and his wife's cool with it. Maybe she's letting the dogs out while they're in Dallas? But would Abby be cool with while you're gone, you hire a swimsuit model to house sit?
Starting point is 00:08:06 I think that would be frowned upon. I'm just saying Joe's best case scenario is that Fiancé knows this and that she's there to let the dogs out. Shannon, would you be okay? Would Sarah be okay with that? Probably not. No, I don't think that would work. Plus she doesn't live in Cincinnati. It's strange, though.
Starting point is 00:08:22 She called it her house, too. She said her house. Both of them named Olivia. Both of them named Olivia. He's got a thing for Olivia's, I guess. I just, how does she live, like, said she lived in the house. But he's engaged to someone else. My mind is just going crazy right now.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Does the other Olivia live with Joe? Does he have two Olivia's? We have two Olivia's that live there at the same time. If she comes in for her dog sitting duties or whatever she's being hired to do, Well, his fiance, so they're probably, I would assume they live together. Shannon, what do you think? I feel like you can dissect this. Olivia 1 has to know about Olivia 2 and vice versa.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I don't think there's any scenario which they don't know each other. You would think so. So in that case, then it's on the up and up. Then it's okay, right? He's not cheating. He's not doing anything promiscuous. I got it, but why is she, it's odd that you would have. This woman is from like New York.
Starting point is 00:09:18 And she's house sitting and since. And if I were Joe Burrow and it were innocent and my fiance knew about it, I would immediately, here's a picture that we've known her forever as my wife's friend. Well, he has to do media today. That's what you know. I would try to shut it down. You're a reporter. You're working for the Cincinnati television station.
Starting point is 00:09:36 First question. Are you asking the question at today's media opportunity? Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Let him talk about the Cowboys. Well, how are you going to ask it? Let me add. Let's just assume Joe Burroughs standing right.
Starting point is 00:09:49 right there. How are you asking that question? I'd say, Joe, somebody broke into your house for the weekend. There's a lot of talk out there. Would you like to straighten things out right now and clear things up? That's not going to get you the answer. He's going to talk about his house. He's not going to bring up the Olivia. You're going to have to bring up the Olivia. See, as you asked that first question, can you talk about it? And then if he talks about, doesn't mention Olivia. Can you explain then why there are other, there's two Olivia's involved or I would probably work it a little better? I want to know how you'd word it. I'd say, so I ask the first question. Okay, let's just play it out. Okay. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Next question. Oh, I already asked the first one. Let's start with the first. Ryan Lemon, L-E-X-18. Joe, unfortunately, it looks like your house may have been broken into over the weekend when you were in Dallas. Can you kind of clear up some details of that or want to talk about that a little bit? Yeah, you know, I don't really want to get into it a lot. It was a tough situation.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I thank the local police department for coming over and helping, and we're going to take care of it. And, you know, it's just one of those unfortunate things. We're going to have to be more careful when I leave. town. Apparently, Olivia's supermodel girl was there that called into the police. So, you know, is she worked for you? Why are you bringing up my personal life? Well, she just said in her police report that she is employed by you and was she there house sitting for you or what was her, what's her involvement? You look nervous and you're just talking to me. I don't think there's any way you could say that in front of Joe Burrough. What about Joe? Rank the Olivia's.
Starting point is 00:11:16 All right. So that's gossip number one. Would you like gossip? number two. I love gossip number one story, by the way. Gossip number two. You know, Donald Trump, he has a son, Donald Trump Jr. Yes. She, he was engaged, or is engaged, to a woman named Kimberly Guilfoyle. She's always on television talking about, talking about things. She was the one that member at the convention screamed, you know, she did that Howard Dirk, uh, Dean scream the one time. Okay, two days ago, cameras show Donald Trump, Jr., walking into a bar holding hands with a different woman. The woman is apparently a socialite in wherever they are.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Multiple pictures of him with this woman. So people are like, what's happening to the fiancé? Where's Kimberly Guilfoyle? Again, internet goes a buzz. Next day, Donald Trump appoints Kimberly Guilfoyle, ambassador to Greece. Sins are away. Smooth move. To Greece.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Gone. What about that? Dad, can you help me out here? This is DJ Jr. Can you help me out here? Sins her to Greece. That's definitely a thank you to the boy, do the son, don't you think? But, I mean, think about that.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Like, that's kind of a crazy thing, right? She can't turn it down. She's got to accept it, doesn't she? That's a pretty good. title but i mean can you imagine if your son breaks off a wedding and you would send the ex as the ambassador to another country just to get her away just to get her away sounds like a good consolation prize to me i mean that's at least he gave her greece i saw this story that was my first thought so what if joe burrow sends his fiancee to the cowboys i just got you a job working PR in dallas
Starting point is 00:13:17 for the Cowboys. A lot going on. A lot going on in the world of gossip. Who's next shit? Josh. Josh, go ahead, Josh. Hey, what's going on, guys? What's up?
Starting point is 00:13:29 I have some good history concerning the big boy there on Hared's Big Road. Okay. That was originally the Sherrod family farm where they grew not out there. Were they grew what? I can hear you. Where they grew what? Straw bays. mainly. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:49 And so then Mr. Sherrod, during the Great Depression, he started a sign company called Sherrod's Sign Company, which is ironically pretty much right across the street from KS. Bar. It's the oldest family-owned sign company in the state. So Mr. Sherrod would go
Starting point is 00:14:09 up to Cincinnati to paint signs and billboards and whatnot. And he would, every opening day he would be at the Reds stadium and paint a red top beer sign or some other sign on one of the buildings in the outfield as part of like their opening
Starting point is 00:14:25 day's tradition. Well, while they were up there, Mr. Sherrod enjoyed taking his kids to eat at the big boy. And he ended up bringing that big boy as the first one in the state of Kentucky because of his travels and taking his
Starting point is 00:14:41 kids to eat at the big boy in Cincinnati. I had no idea where you were going with that, but that's interesting. And I appreciate the call. Apparently, they're closing 12 big boys today because they didn't pay rent. That'll get you. But does that mean they had 12 land, the same landlord in all 12 places? Or they just collectively decided we're not paying rent anywhere?
Starting point is 00:15:07 Yeah, you think the landlord in Winchester is different than the landlord on Harrisburg Road. You would think so, yeah. But it's a sad day. It is a sad day. When's the last time you've eaten it a big? boy I know we're going to get to this or not it became kind of a tradition in my family you have a tradition they eat everywhere because you know in TV you have to work holidays and so a lot of times I would work Thanksgiving Day and we would go get
Starting point is 00:15:30 Frisius Big Boy on the Harrisburg Road for lunch every single year for Thanksgiving I'm sorry not Christmas Thanksgiving and then for dinner my mom would make Thanksgiving dinner we'd have our big turkey and dressing but for lunch we went to Fris's Big Boy for probably 10 years in a row for lunch on Thanksgiving. Wow. Was that special? It was special. Yeah, the cheeseburger and onion rings.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Oh, boy. None, none. Well, because nothing's open on Thanksgiving. That's why we started going there. It was like the only restaurant open on Thanksgiving. I think I've only been there like once. I don't have a strong connection to it. I think more of like Austin Powers with the big thing.
Starting point is 00:16:05 I was thinking, I don't think I've ever eaten at a big boy. Really? I can't think of when I would have. I did like the old school Perkins. Yes. Right? And I would sometimes go to Denny's or Waffle House, but like I just never thought about Big Boy as a place I would go. Clearly neither did anyone else.
Starting point is 00:16:24 That's why they're closing. And then you went there for Thanksgiving. That was it. Once a year. Where did you go for Christmas? Sir pizza? There was a Chinese restaurant on the north side. I've been to Chinese restaurants for because they're open on Christmas Day.
Starting point is 00:16:40 It would be open on Christmas night. Yeah. Yeah. There you go. All kinds. You learn more about Ryan and it becomes more disturbing. I'm just trying to be more consistent. Every single time.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Draft Kings, the Emirates NBA Cup is going on. Last night, I think the Thunder won and the Bucks won. You can win big on getting in the action on Draft Kings, the official sports betting partner of the NBA. Two more games tonight. You can get your bets in. It's the home of NBA player props. Bet five, get 150 in bonus bets.
Starting point is 00:17:09 It's all at Draft Kings. The crown is yours. Bet $5. get $150 in bonus bets if you win. And if you have a gambling problem, you can go to dkeng.c-o-slash-B-B-Ball. We are going to take a break. Be back here at KS. Barr's Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed a game.
Starting point is 00:17:28 This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the head.
Starting point is 00:17:42 We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. For more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 and the TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:18:17 What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:18:41 I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He run up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball, like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out. real quick. Get your ass up and down the court and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a perimenaposal chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast. How Hard Can It Be with De Anamoreva, where I call on my GenX squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic. B.S. All of a sudden I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive. Wait, what sex? Dating at 45. How high can it be, getting naked at 50 with the new guy. That one's kind of hard. Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs,
Starting point is 00:20:10 tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of My Cultura Podcast Network available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. There are times when the mind becomes a difficult place to live. This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast, and for Mental Health Awareness Month, we're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles.
Starting point is 00:20:43 I'm joined by doctors, researchers, and those with lived experience. We'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety. I started living in my car, and then my car got stolen. I was shoplifting. I was having panic attacks. I was agoraphobic. And making it through hardship. To be present is a learned skill, and it's hard to be present. We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression,
Starting point is 00:21:08 and the brain implant that saved his life. What I learned is that procedure made me happy because I'm disease-free. And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder and the science of how the brain can change. This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations about what happens when the brain goes off course
Starting point is 00:21:34 and what we can do about it. Listen to Intercosmos on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker walks up to me, he goes, A, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Starting point is 00:22:03 Time out. Quarterback on office, Blue, 42. Hey, Rhett, my mama want you to wave at. What? Where's she at? Hey, Ms. Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. You're back.
Starting point is 00:22:27 It is Kentucky Sports Radio. 8-592-2-8287. There's people telling me that the first Olivia and Joe may have broken off their engagement, but no one knows because Joe does not talk about his private life. So when I ask him that question in the new. newscombers today. He's not going to answer me. Yeah, he may not answer you. I get that. I wouldn't, if I was Joe Barre, you don't talk about who you date, right? Like that's the one thing. Yeah, you keep that to yourself. That's the, it's like why people should be able to, to, but people are
Starting point is 00:22:59 going to be interested. That's just the whole nature of the world. I think her saying she's employed also just makes it. Makes it weird. It makes it a little weird. A couple things. First of all, beer nose, our remote Friday, the big Louisville. remote for UK U of L is Friday at Beernose. What's the address? It's the one in Indiana, Shannon. You know the, you got that address? There's a couple of them in Indiana.
Starting point is 00:23:22 I mean, I can look it up. We'll figure out, but we have somebody let me know. We have our big UK U of L remote, even though the game is in Lexington. We're doing our Louisville remote. It's technically in southern Indiana, but we call it our Louisville remote. This is one of our favorite ones usually, and it's a good chance for us to celebrate the UK basketball thing. and we may, keep key emphasis on May, may have a surprise.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Speaking of May, speaking of May have a surprise, if Kentucky wins Saturday, I will just say to you, keep Sunday afternoon open if you're in the Lexington area. What a tease. So I can't say why, but if we win, something may happen Sunday afternoon that you would like. Okay. But you have to keep this. This is going to be a number of times during the year. If we win Saturday, something may happen Sunday.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Okay. Does that make sense for big games? The Arkansas game, the Auburn game, the Alabama game, a handful of those. But we have to win first. We have to win. So you have to be able to tune in immediately to know if we win, Drew, what would then happen on Sunday. I'm picking up with what you're putting down. Is the Beerno's remote the longest running remote?
Starting point is 00:24:40 It has to be in the conversation. It is. The Beardose Remote is the first remote we ever did. And Ryan was scared. Scared to death. Had his back turned to the audience because he was too nervous to. He was like. I believe there are people showing up to sit and listen to us, watch us talk.
Starting point is 00:24:54 You were so nervous. It was so funny. You literally, you had been on television for 20 years and you couldn't look at a group of people and talk to them without getting nervous. On TV, you're just in a studio with like three people. That was a room full of people just sitting there. and watching his talk. It was really weird feeling. Did you rip your shirt off in front of those?
Starting point is 00:25:14 So that is Friday. Also, Friday in Georgetown, we're having OVW wrestling at Country Boy and Shannon the dude will be in the ring on Friday. That's right. I will be there ready to go. I'm sure it's going to be a sold-out crowd because, you know, when I'm there, I always sell out the arena that we go to. So I'm looking forward to it.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Do you? I didn't realize they're there for you. They are. People in Georgetown are not happy with Shannon. with what he said in the past to him, so they may show up ready to kick your ass. Yeah, so that's Friday night. And by the way, if you've never been, this would be a good one. I have some people coming from England to see this exact,
Starting point is 00:25:51 they're coming all the way to England to be there to watch it Country Boy Friday night. So that's Friday night. So Friday day, you got the remote in Louisville, and then you got the Country Boy wrestling at night. Who's up next? Freebird. Freebird. How are you? Hey, guys.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Glad you all made it back safely on your cowboy trip. you had a caller yesterday talking about how difficult, and you were talking about this, Matt, how difficult our basketball schedule is. Yes. In comparison, in comparison, how would you all rate the difficulty of our basketball schedule and just this past year of football and next year's football schedule?
Starting point is 00:26:29 No, that's good question. In difficulty. I think they're very similar, honestly, Drew. In football, our football schedule, you know, we had at the end of the year, the second hardest schedule in the country behind Georgia. It was Georgia one, us two. Differences we had to play Georgia, and they had to play us. So that makes it a little bit harder in some ways.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Basketball, you know, five of the top ten teams in the country right now are in top ten. So I think they're very similar. I think if you, you know, I'd have to sit there and break it down to see what's harder, but they're very similar. Next year's football schedule is brutal. I mean, this one was hard, but we're just flipping it. So, you know, you're going to Louisville and South Carolina, which you call like the swing games that you think you should win
Starting point is 00:27:14 or now the road games. And then you have. Going to Vandy? You have Arch Manning coming to Lexington. DJ Lagway coming to Lexington, you know, playing Ole Miss again. South Carolina, we saw how improved they are, and they're paying Stewart $1.5 million to come tackle quarterbacks again. Every team, the SEC is getting better,
Starting point is 00:27:32 and the way it got flipped makes it even harder next year. Yeah, I mean, and there's a good chance some players who played here are going to be coming into Kroger Field next year. I mean, we got a couple teams on the schedule that, you know, I think Georgia going after Dane,
Starting point is 00:27:49 Ole Miss, I think is going after Barion and Dane. You got, you know, there's a... It could be a really difficult year next year for soups in a year that I think he's got to win. I don't think he can just, you know, get by. This was the year. This was the year.
Starting point is 00:28:05 They were down. Now you got to go two Auburn and you assume they'll be a little improved. It's just so much harder across the board. That's it. Those four home games, South Carolina, Auburn, Vandy, three of the four. You should have won those at home this year. Now you've got to go on the road next year and play at their place when you got Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas coming here. Next year's football schedule is made the hardest ever.
Starting point is 00:28:25 I mean, Louisville, you got to go there. I mean, that's a lot different than playing them here. So, like, it is a very difficult schedule. Did you watch, by the way, the journey video? I did. They're getting a little long. I'll admit I did a little fast forwarding through the action. A little long.
Starting point is 00:28:41 They're full feature documentaries now, but I loved it. I loved it. So, yeah, they basically did behind the scenes of the Gonzaga game. Here would be my advice for the people that do that video. It looks amazing. It is. And it's very cool. Less of the basketball highlights and more of the everything else.
Starting point is 00:29:03 That's what we want to see. Like it's 15 minutes. 11 minutes of which are basketball highlights. I've already watched those like 10 times, right? I want to see what you have that I can't see, which is the locker room, the huddles, the pregame. I think they spend a little too much time showing me the game, which I've seen. What I did think was fascinating about it was the halftime locker room.
Starting point is 00:29:31 It was cool. So they show them at halftime, and if you haven't seen this, you should go look. first person that talks is Lamont Butler second person that talks is Jackson Robinson and they both are Lamont is like coaching saying you know we need to do this go under the ball screen over all this stuff
Starting point is 00:29:51 Jackson Robinson it was like Jackson Robinson necessarily didn't 100% even think we were going to win he was like we just need to make sure we go play and don't embarrass ourselves but I did like seeing those two dudes be the leader and then Mark Pope came in made some adjustments. It was very cool for me, Drew, to see the, to see the locker room part of that. The halftime is the best part of all of these. That's why I ran to the video as soon as it went up.
Starting point is 00:30:15 But also like how the players narrate them. So the beginning is Andrew Carr kind of set it up. They have these kind of lengthy interviews with each player, which reveals even more. It's not in the moment, but it's them kind of reflecting on how it went. You're just seeing so much of the coaching and how smart these players are. Yeah. Carr was another one with Butler at halftime. Those guys are going to be coaches eventually. It is good. And it is very good to see your best. I've said this for years, if you've listened to this show,
Starting point is 00:30:41 your best players have to be your leaders. You cannot, you know, and I don't blame this kid. He was trying to help. But like two years ago, Severe Wheeler, three years ago, was trying to be our leader, and he wasn't our best player. Our best players are our leaders this year. And I think that helps a lot. They got to respect those guys.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You got to be the best dude for the other guys to listen to you. We're going to take a break. Barry back. KS.R. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at KS. Bar and Grill. Pre-game show 530 today. Come on in before you head out to the game.
Starting point is 00:31:21 You expect a good crowd today? The crowds have not disappointed from football season into the early basketball season. The home crowds have been great. So, yeah, I think we'll have another good crowd. Ohio State Representative Drew Josh Williams. Today introduced the O-H-I-O-Sports movement. Act. Would you like to know what that means? I have a guess. It makes it a felony offense if you plant a flag at the center of Ohio State Stadium. I figured that's where you're going. A felony.
Starting point is 00:31:54 It's embarrassing. A little, a little much there. That's an embarrassment. Yeah, it is. That's an embarrassment. Ohio State, Josh Williams should be ashamed. Absolute embarrassment. To try to make a felony planting a flag. First of all, I think there would be First Amendment grounds there, too. I think maybe it would hold up. But Shannon, how soft and lame is that? Extremely lame. How about you just don't lose?
Starting point is 00:32:22 And if you do, you just get a deal with it. It's like saying you can't taunt me because I lost a game. That's what they're going to do next. It's weak. That's the weakest thing. If I'm an Ohio State fan, I'm embarrassed that they would do that. I'm embarrassed. Just be Michigan.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And if you don't, do it. the consequences. You're a 20-point favorite. Beat them in your home field. I got to go boo-hoo and write a law. And go wind of wall. Do not put your flag on my field. And they couldn't even poke it in the field because of the turf.
Starting point is 00:32:51 It's artificial turf. I'd find something other than it. If it's just written as a flag, I'd find something else to put on the field. Yeah. I'd put spray paint them on the field. Yeah. Or just put a big old doll on there that says eat at Ohio State. Well, I mean, there are very few things I've seen lamer than
Starting point is 00:33:07 making it a felony. If you're an Ohio State fan, though, do you support that guy and wanting him vote for him? You know what I think would be funnier? Is if Ohio State were to win, put their flag in the field, and then they get arrested. Does he clear? Is it opposing flags only? Yeah, but then that's viewpoint discrimination. You can't do that.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Yeah. I just, when I saw that, I was like, if I was an Ohio State fan, I would be absolutely mortified. that this dude was that way. Everybody's moved on. I've already forgotten that they played that game, and now Ohio State fans will get to be made fun of a little bit more for continuing. That's a really good point. Yes, that will be exactly what we do.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Who's up next? Johnny. Johnny, 859-280-2287. Go ahead. Hey, guys. Well, you kind of touched on what my original question was going to be, and that's if you thought Travis Perry was going to get some run tonight, considering our point guard situation.
Starting point is 00:34:08 I think you will. I think he'll actually get real run. I think they'll put him in in real minutes in the middle of the game. I think they've got to see if they have a guy who can give them back up point guard minutes, not just tonight, but throughout the rest of the year. Because Kerr is going to be out until at least February probably, so you need to at least try. Yeah, for sure. I think that if Travis can give us those minutes, and I feel a lot better moving forward with the crease of injury.
Starting point is 00:34:38 my second question would be do you think stoops and his staff will spend any time trying to re-recruit some of our guys that have put their name in the portal or do you think they're just going to wash their hands of us? I think, and this is just my take, I appreciate the call. This is just the feeling I get from talking to people on the staff. Of all the guys they've lost, the only one that they really would like to keep, and that they would, like, move mountains to try to keep is Dane. And you feel like that ship has sailed, right? I mean, I feel that way. I mean, like I said, he gave his heart and soul for three years of that school.
Starting point is 00:35:21 He gave everything he had, you know, name was played, tried a different scenario. Yeah. So if they can't get Dane back, then I would be surprised, Drew, if they made any real effort for any of the rest. You know, I mean, I think what, 19 guys have transferred? I think 16 of them they told to go. Okay. You know, this needed to happen.
Starting point is 00:35:48 If everybody wants them to change the locker room, you can't bring everyone back and just snap your fingers. I think 16 of them they told to go. I think Daneke, they would have, they definitely wanted and offered to have him come back. That's obviously not happening. I think they would have taken Kishan Silver back, but they felt like he was going to make a lot more money than they were willing to pay somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:36:09 And then, you know, if Barry on was like, please let me come back, they probably would have, but I don't think they were going to make a huge effort to do it. Would you agree with that? Those are the only three that really played significant minutes outside of Wimpsett. If you wanted him to be your backup quarterback for Cutter, the rest of the guys, yeah, didn't get on the field a whole lot. But I think they feel like they need to get a quarterback who would compete for the starting job, even though I think Cutter has the inside.
Starting point is 00:36:36 and I'm not sure if they thought Gavin was that, maybe. So, so no, I don't think there would be a huge thing. Do you think Bill Belichick, what's going on with that? Like they said he's happening, isn't it? Well, is it? They said he accepted his job, but then it's like there's not been an announcement. I saw someone tweet, this is like the Tennessee search in 2017, which I haven't followed it closely,
Starting point is 00:37:02 but seen that tweet may be wonder if there's a lot of pushback around UNC. What's going on? I don't know. I thought it was happening. He won't succeed, will he? Like, he's like 99. He's got his nice young girlfriend. He can be saved.
Starting point is 00:37:17 He does have a 24-year-old girlfriend. I don't know that that's going to make it better for him at that school. Seems like he's just trying to set his son up because it's got some kind of clause that his son takes over. Would he really just go for a year and stick away? Would you want that? Let's say this was us. Okay, let's say Mark had left. Bill Belichick, you could have him, but he says in three years you have to have my kid coach.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Would you want that? I wouldn't even want him anyway. He's too old. You got to recruit, raise money. I know he's a legend, but no, I would not want that scenario where we're just taking his son in a couple years. I'd go for it. You'd want it. If you got Bill Belichick for three years, one of the greatest coaches in the history of football at your school, yeah, I'm doing it.
Starting point is 00:38:00 I would want it, but I'm not taking his stupid kit. Yeah, that's a little tricky. Like there's no kid. Stupid kid. I mean, I don't want his kid. What am I going to do with his kid? Maybe he's a good coach. He has a mullet.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Have you seen his kid? Yeah. He could be a coach, a good coach is waiting to shine. I mean, there's a lot of people that could be a good coach. I don't want his kid. I could be talked into having him, although I don't think that's going to work either. I don't want him either. He'll be 73 next year.
Starting point is 00:38:30 73. He still got some good coaching in him, but he's also never come. coached in college. Yeah. Doesn't know anything about the recruiting world or the NIO world or anything. They said he gave them a 400-page manifesto. 400 pages? Yes, he said he had a 400-page manifesto of what he would do.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Do you think that would help if you saw 400 pages? I ain't reading it. I may read the first page, but I'm not going to read 400 pages. I don't think it's required that you read it. I think you're hiring him would read it. I don't think I'd do that. No, I don't think I'd read it any of it. if I was hiring him.
Starting point is 00:39:05 So if I showed up to you with a 400-page thing for, like, the most important job you would hire for, you would just throw it in the trash. I'd read the first page and then put it down. Make sure it's proper spacing. That's about it. When I was in high school, there was a girl I went to school with who was convinced that one of our teachers did not read her papers. Just gave her a good grade because she was a good writer. And we had to do like a 10-page paper. and she wrote the first page and then put like eight pages from Gone with the Wind, pages two through nine,
Starting point is 00:39:41 and then had a conclusion and got an A. Wow. Mario, you're watching out for these cheesers today. These are the things you have to watch out for. Although it won't work because I'm going to grade their papers. But that was, and she had like a nut. She actually did it as a test. She had an actual paper, but she wanted to see.
Starting point is 00:40:03 do they grade these? Uh-huh. And that's what she did. I think Shigari thought the same thing when he turned his Wukash Horsu paper in. I don't think it's quite the same thing. Shigari literally wrote his name in pen and just turned in Wu's paper. Cut off the top. Cut off the top.
Starting point is 00:40:20 At a shorter page. That's one of the more ridiculous things. Hey, Ryan, this Christmas give the gift of sizzle and delight. How can I do that? Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a parameda Pazzo chin here you do.
Starting point is 00:42:18 So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast. How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my GenX squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS. All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Wait, what sex? Dating at 45. How can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy? That one's kind of hard. Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it unfiltered and unbothered and ask, How Hard Can It Be?
Starting point is 00:43:03 I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of my Cultura podcast network available on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam, it's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. and finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
Starting point is 00:43:32 And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall.
Starting point is 00:43:50 And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's first, friends stop by like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball. Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
Starting point is 00:44:19 podcasts. There are times when the mind becomes a difficult place to live. This is David Eagleman, with the Inner Cosmos podcast, and for Mental Health Awareness Month, we're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles. I'm joined by doctors, researchers, and those with lived experience. We'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety. I started living in my car, and then my car got stolen. I was shoplifting. I was having panic attacks. I was agoraphobic. And making it through hardship. To be present is a learned skill. And it's hard to be present. We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression and the brain implant that saved his life. What I learned is that procedure made me happy because I'm disease-free.
Starting point is 00:45:06 And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder and the science of how the brain can change. This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations about what happens when the brain goes off course and what we can do about it. Listen to Inner Cosmos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
Starting point is 00:45:37 And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff, like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, A, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Look. Quarterback on office blue with 42. Hey, Brett. My mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at? Hey, Ms. Parker. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:46:11 Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. 859-280-2287. Cats and Colgate play 8 o'clock tonight, a little bit later than usual. Kind of a weird, 8 o'clock game on a Wednesday night. Yeah, but we'll be here.
Starting point is 00:46:27 We'll be ready. What time? What station is that game? ESPN 2. ESPN 2. So we're getting some national coverage here. Tom Hart must be doing the game. He sent out a picture of him landing over Kalymet Farm and an airplane.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Yeah, he's doing the game. Well, hello to Tom, wherever you are. One person writes, Matt, Belchick's is 10 years younger than our current president, six years younger than our incoming president. Why could he not be a good coach? I mean, that's a fair point, but he also, his job is going to be to have to deal with young people, which I think is the part. Like, I still think he can coach? He's great on television.
Starting point is 00:47:02 The question is, can you deal with these college kids that are 19 and 20? That's a different thing. Yeah, starting something brand new for him at that age is a little different than if he were just taking another NFL job. And whoever is next, I would like a little youth and some energy. How old is he? He'll be 73 when. And how's his girlfriend?
Starting point is 00:47:21 24. 24. He's doing something right. What's wrong with you? He knows how to manage young people. That's true. That's true. He probably has to deal with younger people more than most people do.
Starting point is 00:47:36 Maybe we're looking at this wrong. Maybe we should have. Maybe we should have looked at that differently. Who's up next? Doug. Doug. Go ahead, Doug. Hey, guys, it's Doug in Spokane.
Starting point is 00:47:46 I just wanted to say, glad you guys got home safe. And thanks for a good time at Buckley's and Atlas last weekend. It was incredible. Thank you. And I wanted to find out, make sure, Ryan shared that Washington bourbon with you guys. We did. We had to do it while we were there, or they did,
Starting point is 00:48:06 because we couldn't take it on the plan. Right. Yeah. We couldn't take it out of the establishment and then back into it. So we had to keep it there. Yeah. Oh, okay. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Good deal. All right, guys. Thanks. Appreciate the call. Really, were you impressed with how many Kentucky fans were in Seattle for that game? Blew me away. blew me away that we overtook Buckley's restaurant where it has a line out the door
Starting point is 00:48:32 and then we show up at this little sports bar to do the postgame show and overtook it just Kentucky fans everywhere I was impressed with how many weren't from the what is that Northwest? Yeah a lot of people were from Kentucky met people from Minnesota I thought we just get a lot of people from that end of the country
Starting point is 00:48:48 I think a lot of people saw this is my one chance to go watch them to go out there I wouldn't go out there otherwise so that's why I'm doing it That's what surprised me more than just the overall numbers. I thought we'd get a lot of local, but not, it didn't expect as many people travel.
Starting point is 00:49:01 And they were outnumbered in the arena like, you know, 80% to 20%. But, yeah, our 20% got very loud. You know, you could hear a Go Big Blue chance throughout the game. Yeah, who's up next? Pete. Pete, what's up? Hello, I just want to give a shout out to University of Kentucky Rugby Club
Starting point is 00:49:20 and Bowling Green University. I'm not sure. The Bowling Green University. University. I don't know its name. They're playing for the national championships in Houston, Kentucky is the defending champion. And Bowling Green is the big upstart in the competition. What now? I'm talking about rugby.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Rugby. Bowling Green plays Kentucky and rugby. So Kentucky plays Bowling Green and rugby. Yes, Kentucky won. Last year, I think we beat Louisville in the finals, right? Yeah, right. And so Kentucky is playing Bowling Green, but the bowling green. from Ohio, right?
Starting point is 00:50:04 Yeah, I don't know. It's the bowling green from Ohio, yeah. Okay, I've got my bowling greens rolling in. Louisville were knocked out in the rounds. So, where are you from? New Zealand. New Zealand. How did you end up in Kentucky?
Starting point is 00:50:25 I'm an American citizen living in Kentucky. Oh, okay. naturalized, yeah. I'm a retired nurse. Okay, gotcha. Well, it's nice to meet you. Thank you for listening to show. Are you a Kentucky fan?
Starting point is 00:50:43 I'm trying very hard to follow football. I don't have any friends that know anything about it. They all seem to know anything about it. I like the technical stuff, and I'm trying to learn. Well, you are, we are your friends. friend and we like it so uh but but but i hope you uh i hope you continue to uh to enjoy yeah well i'm saving up to come to a game next year so be my first you know game for uk i had an unfortunate experience in western kentucky watching my first gave a gridiron and um i
Starting point is 00:51:25 had a bit of an argument with the coach and uh You did. Okay. Well, he walked on to the field, right? And the coach says, I don't know. I'm the playing field, started yelling at his team, and then he started swearing at him. He's only high school kids.
Starting point is 00:51:47 That's what Ryan Limins like. So I can, that's kind of a normal thing, unfortunately. But I, well, I appreciate the call. He was the coach. Thank you very much for listening. Thank you. I like that guy. Yeah, big fans.
Starting point is 00:52:00 I like him. Anybody from New Zealand? Well, that's awesome. I talked to a guy from, a horse guy from Ireland. You know, a lot of Ireland horse people that migrated to in Ireland. Okay. You sounded like you're from the, you said, Arland. Ireland.
Starting point is 00:52:13 A lot of a horse guy from Ireland. And they get sucked into the big blue fever, you know? Yeah, for sure. Did you, I know you've over the years you've been mean about Taylor Swift. Did you see what she did for her, the people that worked for? I haven't seen this. Is this going to make me like her? I would hope so.
Starting point is 00:52:30 For the people who drive the trucks, who set up the stage, and for her dancers, she gave them a $200 million bonus for her tour that she went. My goodness. They show a couple of the truck drivers showed notes where she said something like, thank you for your hard work this year. Here is your bonus of $100,000. Wow. That's pretty impressive. Isn't that amazing? It speaks highly of her as a person.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Don't you think that's amazing? I saw a guy tweet that his dad's one of the drivers and he's going to college now. Yeah, one of them said, yes, my dad is paying for my college because of the bonus for Taylor Swift. I think that's extremely nice. She doesn't have to do that, Shannon. I'm not saying I'm sure there are other musicians that do it, but $200 million. That's a lot of money. How much money is she bringing in?
Starting point is 00:53:22 I guess billions at this point. I think they said it was $2 billion is how much her tour made. That's still awesome for her to recognize those folks that, you know, traveled across the country for her and even in you know overseas to do her concert i'll settle for a thousand dollar bonus you just give me a thousand i'll settle for 10 you'll set up 10 000 10 dollars i'll give you 10 dollars i'm glad to do that who's up next brent brint go ahead brent i just wanted to tell you first fall i really enjoyed your all's road trip last week uh had a ball listening to you guys um it did uh you guys touched on a story that's near and dear to my heart and
Starting point is 00:54:01 and Drew, actually this is for you. Just kind of reminded me. Real quick. 30 seconds. Okay. So quick for Drew, this is for you. Picture yourself, young Drew, sitting at Chi-Chi's in Lexington, on your birthday, wearing a sombrero with your fried ice cream, and you hear this.
