Welcome back hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio here live at Bear Nose.
13 locations around the Louisville and southern Indiana area for 45 years.
When you think about pizza in Louisville and the area, you think,
about bare-nose have a great selection.
My guy from England loved it last night.
I love it every time we get to eat.
I feel sorry for these people right here who came in just to eat,
and then all of a sudden saw all these Kentucky fans that had to turn away.
You know, I'm sorry we just got all the tables.
What are you going to do?
You know, it's one day.
They'll be open tomorrow.
You can come down, Shannon.
Yeah, they have carryout.
Yeah, get carry out.
But you've got a hard time finding the table right now.
That's what happens when we come to town.
Let's talk about what happens tomorrow at 5 o'clock.
There are going to be very few busier 5 o'clock in the history of Kentucky sports.
Kentucky plays Louisville at 515.
Kentucky's women play at 5 o'clock.
Kentucky plays pit in women's football football to go the final four at 5 o'clock.
All three games tomorrow are at the exact same time.
At the bar tomorrow, just because of the logistics, we can't even have the women's game
because we have to put it on certain TVs.
We can't do it, and it's complicated.
But we will have the men's game and the volleyball game at the same time.
We've talked a lot about the men's game.
But Kentucky's women are playing for only their second final four trip
in the history of the school against Pitt tomorrow.
They're playing the number one team in the country.
Ryan Pitt almost lost yesterday to Oregon.
Went to five sets.
They nearly lost.
We were nearly able to avoid playing the number one
overall seed, but we get them tomorrow with a chance for the final four.
You know, we maybe don't talk about the volleyball team enough.
Eight straight conference championships, and now tonight they got a chance to play tomorrow
for a chance to play to the final four.
I mean, yeah, it's amazing.
It's going to be tough.
Like you said, you got number one pit on their home floor.
They're the favorite.
But they almost lost last night.
They played five-seat Oregon.
Oregon was up two sets to one, had a chance to beat them, didn't do it.
I think even though they're number one, of all the,
the top seeds. They played in the weakest conference. They might be the one that's the most vulnerable,
so we might have a shot of taking them. You got to play somebody good when you get to this point,
and I watched the entire match of Kentucky Missouri yesterday, and outside of the third set,
where you look like Kentucky fell asleep for a minute, they were pretty dominant, so they're enjoying
Pittsburgh so far. I don't know if anyone else watched it, but in the top right of the screen,
there was an entire section of UK fans, had a nice little turnout there. I hope that's the case again
tomorrow, but I'm wondering if you're Mitch Barnhart, what do you do? Do you clone yourself? You don't
Normally he tries to attend everything.
That's great.
It'll probably go to the volleyball.
I think he got to go to the volleyball.
It's a little more significant.
What a, what a predicament.
And it's such an odd time, five o'clock.
So how about that, Chen?
All three of them at once tomorrow.
When I go on to the post game show tomorrow night, you know, there's a chance they could be three and oh.
I guess they could be 0 and 3, but they got a chance.
They got a chance to have a big run there.
Not going to be 0.3.
But, yeah, it's going to be kind of difficult to keep up with everything that's going on.
Shout out to Craig Skinner, man.
I mean, he loaded up that first part of the schedule played a lot of tough teams.
And I think that now he's rebut in the reward right now for that.
I do have to ask you, Shannon.
I mean, every time this comes up, we got to go to you.
I know you've read about the drones that are in New Jersey.
So in the state of New Jersey, there are drones flying over these towns all over New Jersey.
The federal government has announced that it's not federal government drones,
and they're not worried about it from any sort of security standpoint,
but they haven't said what it is, which if I were the government, just say it
so that people like us don't opine on it.
Exactly.
If you're the government, just say it's aliens.
We'll accept it as being aliens, and then we'll know what it is.
It's not aliens.
Well, what do you think are the drones,
that are flying over New Jersey.
I think it's anything to do with our own country.
I think that possibly it could be another country spying on us.
You know, we had the spy balloon.
I think you could see maybe something similar with that in the form of a drone.
But you would acknowledge that it's not an alien.
Well, it's an alien that's piloting the drone.
So you think there's actually a foreign alien?
There's an ET with like a little remote control that's running the drones.
They're looking at us.
There's been some talk that maybe it might be weather stuff.
There's some talk.
It might be a foreign country.
If you lived in these towns, because it's only over a handful of towns in New Jersey,
if you lived in these towns, would you be nervous about it, Drew?
Yes, I'd be very nervous of there are aliens above my house, which there are right now.
Remember who brought this up two days ago?
I've been following this since they first appeared.
We're getting so close to disclosure of aliens, man.
It's right in front of us.
It's right here.
Well, would you rather it be a threat like a China or would you rather be aliens who are just checking things out?
I'm much more scared if there were aliens, which there are not.
It could be.
If there were aliens, I would be much more scared of them because they would be way advanced in technology, as I've said before.
If they got here before we got even knew where they were, then I'm scared of them.
But I don't believe that happened, so they're not there.
and I would, yes, I would rather it be China, because we can fix that.
If there's aliens that have traveled from other galaxies, we're done.
What if they're just here in peace, though, just to make sure we're good preserving Earth.
They're just scouting us out, making sure we're not throwing nukes at each other so that Earth is good.
I don't think, I don't, I think it's probably, there's, as with everything, Ryan, I'm sure there's a benign explanation.
But I do think if I lived in one of those towns, because there's small towns that these things are flying over.
If you lived in one of those towns, you would wonder about it, right?
Of all the states in the country, why would anyone want to spend any amount of time in New Jersey?
I mean, I don't know why they're scouting New Jersey.
New Jersey is a nice place.
There are parts of New Jersey that are nice.
Most of it's a dump.
But on the other side, you go to New York City and Spiler.
Now, we shot down the Chinese weather balloon, right?
I think so.
Why can't we shoot down the drones?
Well, I think I don't know.
They're the size of a car.
But I would think the answer is if you shoot it down, like in the middle of a city,
and the debris has to go somewhere.
It might cause problems if all this debris just falls on the people's...
Sure.
I mean, an alien might land on your house,
but that's the price you've got to pay to find out what it is.
And the force filled around in this.
I think if a big drone falls from the sky,
you know, it's like people you say,
if you throw a penny off the Empire State Building,
I don't know what would happen,
but they always tell you not to do it
because something would happen.
I would think the same thing would be if a drone fell from the sky.
Now, then we have a situation, was it in Mount Washington,
where there were drones over people's houses?
That guy was just drunk.
He was just drunk.
That was just a perv.
Can you shoot it down?
If it's over your house, can you shoot it down?
Is that private property?
Who's you?
If I'm the homeowner in New Jersey,
do you see how these things up?
You're not going to be able to shoot it with a gun.
There was a guy I got arrested for shooting at him in New Jersey.
I understand, but you're not, like, these things are way up there.
Like, they're like, people have, like, very strong telescopes to see them.
They're not just like right over you.
They're like way up in the air.
I would be concerned if I lived there.
I mean, you don't know what that thing's capable of.
It could shoot.
It could explode.
Anything could happen.
You're worried it's going to shoot you.
A little lasers coming down.
I'm telling you.
You got to shoot it before it shoot you.
I'm shooting it.
First of all, no, you're not.
Stop acting like you're out here on the Wild West.
You don't even have a gun.
So you're sitting there telling me how you're going to shoot.
I've never seen you shoot anything, and you're like, I'm shooting it.
You're not doing a thing.
Don't act like you're going to see.
Here's what you're going to happen.
You're just going to sit there, and you're going to go to bed and try to keep your dogs from yapping.
You're not going to do a thing to it.
Well, you're right.
First of all, I ain't going to New Jersey.
I don't know why you want to go to New Jersey.
But even if it was at your house, you wouldn't do anything to it.
My dogs would be out barking at it.
Well, that'll show him.
Who's up next?
Ted is up next.
Ted.
You're going to shoot it.
Ted, go ahead.
guys laser it. I'm going to laser it.
Hey guys. How are y'all?
I'm doing good.
So, a quick question for you.
We were fortunate enough to get some last-minute tickets to the Kentucky game Saturday.
I love people.
People just keep coming here, seeing this crowd and getting the heck out.
I'm sorry.
I know you did this, beer and those folks for business.
I'm sorry, we're just running.
Y'all got to have to buy pizza because you have run all these people out of here.
Can y'all be more welcoming to the patrons, please?
So you're going to have to buy the pizza.
All, go ahead.
Sorry.
We got last minute tickets to the Kentucky game.
Initially, we were going to be sitting lower level mid-court.
They had long story short, double-sold the ticket to a former player.
So they moved us to the floor on the end zone near the Louisville bench.
Do you guys know what that view is like down there?
And when we'd be able to see everything just fine from the corner like that?
As long as nobody stands up.
Why are you?
I mean, I love you.
but why are you asking me that?
Like, I mean, of course you're, it's a, of course you're going to see.
You got, you got put seats on the floor and you're complaining about it?
Well, and I've never sat.
You have seats to the UK U of L game on the floor,
and you're asking me if you're going to be able to see.
I think you're going to be good.
It's the Whiskey Thief home brag of the day.
I'm not complaining.
I promise you.
It's just, I'm, I was just curious, but.
I don't know, there's no, there's nowhere in Rupp Arena that I know that you won't be able to
see.
Okay.
Other question is I saw something on Twitter or X the other day that they did there might be four
SEC teams ranked number one in the tournament.
Is that even mathematically possible with the way the schedules are going to fall out?
I mean, if you had, and I appreciate the call, if Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Kentucky
were to all only lose three.
three or four conference games, which could happen.
There's a world I could see you having four ones.
Did Iowa State beat Iowa last night?
They did.
Okay.
They're so nice now.
But yes, there is a world, Drew, where that could happen.
I think it's unlikely, but it's plausible.
Yeah, it's extremely unlikely.
But if those teams were to just kind of beat each other up
and then go undefeated against the rest of the conference outside of the top four,
I think you still need some other top teams to lose in their conference.
But we have, I mean, we have, it's not possible.
have the non-conference schedule to do it.
So, like, take Iowa State playing in the Big 12,
they're not going to get as many good games.
So if they lose four conference games, Shannon,
our four conference game losses will look better than there.
So there's a world where it could happen.
I think it's unlikely, but it's possible.
I mean, we've already got, like, half of the top 10 in the SEC right now in week six.
So I think there's a very good possibility that it does happen.
You have four number one seats all.
I think there's a very good possibility that you,
you get four SEC teams that are one or two and then maybe like eight that are one through four seeds.
There's definitely a world where we could have like half the one through four seeds.
I think, Ryan, that is distinctly plausible.
Can you imagine just that that's the final fourth, the SEC tournament?
I mean, you're going to hear us say this a lot.
If you got a chance to go to the SEC tournament, you need to go.
This could be one of the best SEC tournaments ever.
This will be one of the most expensive SEC tournaments forever.
I mean, if you have tickets, don't sell them, or if you do wait and get a premium.
Because, I mean, just a few things to think about.
First of all, probably the best, the highest ranked Tennessee is ever going.
The first time I've been number one, right?
So you got Tennessee is going to be great.
If you ask me, what are the five fan bases that travel the most for the SEC tournament?
I'm going to tell you four of them are the four best teams in the SEC.
That's right.
And the fifth is probably Arkansas that has a chance to be rejuvenated because of
Cal. Texas has never had an SEC tournament before. I got a feeling their fans are going to want to
come just to be in Nashville for that event because they used to always have to go to Kansas City
for their conference tournament. Austin's trying to be Nashville anyway. They've got to go take notes.
So you put all of that together. I think, Drew, I think this will be a wild SEC tournament.
Yeah, I'm really looking forward. As I said earlier, I'm just looking for the regular season as a whole.
we're going to have a few more losses than we want,
but it's good to have the best basketball in our conference.
We take a little pride in that in football,
and I think now that we're having basketball,
the SEC's just getting more and more dominant across the board.
What's up next?
Dennis is up next.
Dennis, go ahead, Dennis.
Hey, how we doing?
Good. What's going on?
Not much.
A couple things on the portal,
and then a comment on PetTales.
On the portal, I like what Kentucky's doing
going after some of these, and I call them Mack Callant players,
that's started for two or three years.
But the only problem I have is that it seemed like a lot of powerful conference teams
to do in this now.
For example, the Bowling Green O-Lignment is coming here.
Jason, I can't pronounce his last name,
but I think he's got some visits that's scheduled after Kentucky business.
So Kentucky is going to, Vince Marl's going to have to,
But you know, they've always done a pretty good job of that.
I mean, they've always done a pretty good job of being able to out-recruit the top schools for some of these guys.
We're not going to get them all, but I do think we'll get some.
My question, though, is if you have to start of the 22 starters on offense and defense next year,
there's a decent chance.
Eight to ten, maybe nine to eleven of them are going to have to be portal people.
And that's a lot more than Mark's had to start in the past.
And we'll just see how that works.
What's your second thing really quick?
I've got to go to break.
Okay.
Buddy of mine, from Kentucky, loves UK, has lived down in Charleston, South Carolina for last few years,
and he absolutely loves Pat Kelsey.
He says he's a great coach.
Well, good for your friend, but we're going to crush him tomorrow.
I appreciate the call.

What's up, fam, this Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game
is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs
without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player
to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level
that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's gonna be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He run up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome back.
it is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at Bear Nose Pizza.
Tomorrow, our pregame show starts at 2.30 for Kentucky Louisville from KS. Bar.
We open at Louisville, expect it to be busy tomorrow.
I hope to see you there, and then you can watch the game there as well.
If we win, I'm going to come do the postgame show down there for the post game as well.
So hopefully that happens, although I will say every time this year that I've said,
I'm going to do the post game at the bar if we win, we've lost.
So hopefully that won't be true in basketball.
It was true in football.
But then again, we lost almost every home game in football.
So there's nothing I could do about that.
Anyway, a couple quick things.
The NCAA has said they're likely to expand the tournament to either 72 or 76.
You hear the collective groans in here.
Yeah, I mean, I get it.
But it doesn't bother me a lot, Shannon, because basically what they're going to do is you're essentially.
talking about two more at-large teams.
They're going to bet if they go to 72, they'll do two more play-in games, and then they'll
do two more at-large teams.
So basically, you're expanding, in my mind, you're expanding it by two, really, because
if the small conference teams play each other, it doesn't matter a lot.
Right.
Do you, what do you think of that?
I don't love it, but it's two more games that no one's going to pay attention to anyway.
So, like, at the end of the day, does it really matter that much?
I guess not.
Now, if we keep going, if we go to, like, 96.
That would be what I would apply.
That don't want that.
Yeah, like, at some point, you've got to cut it off.
I will say this, though.
They've added, I mean, the argument for it is they've added 45 teams since they went to 64.
Right.
It was 64.
They went to 64 in, like, 1985.
There were 320 teams, and now there's 365 teams.
So I think that's the argument, Ryan, why they're good.
with it. And they want to make money. That's really funny. That is the bottom line right there.
When they expanded to 68, I was like, I turn my nose up a little bit, but I'll watch those games now,
you know, so you're the one who watches them. If they go to seven. I was saying, CBS sent me to those
games for two years in Dayton. If you ever get a chance to go, they're awesome. I mean, they really are
awesome. The whole, the whole city of Dayton comes. It's a great environment. I mean, it really is.
It's one.
I would say the first four is a better environment in person, Drew,
than the average first and second round games in terms of just being a cool atmosphere.
I like just having them to bet on to try to get a little money before the first round really starts.
I'm never going to cry about extra basketball.
I am a little note of this.
Like you said, it's not a huge deal, but I'm just going to keep doing it,
and then we're eventually going to get in the 90s.
So if it's put in front of me, I'd vote no, but I'm not that strongly against it.
What do you think about it?
I actually wonder, not that this matters, but what would like the field of 68 do?
Do they have to change their name?
They got all that branding and go to field of 17.
I guess they don't.
The SEC tournament, by the way, they're going to do 16 teams this year, but there's some talk that in starting next year,
they might leave two teams out and only do 14, which is what a couple of conferences do now.
I think the ACC is leaving a couple teams out now.
Didn't we will not make it one year?
I think you're right.
Louisville didn't make it.
What do you think, Ryan, would you, do you, the reason being basically, you know,
they don't want to punish that now the team that finishes 9th is still going to have to play
five games in five days.
This would allow the teams in the top 10 to get by.
Are you okay with that?
We're going to find out, I think, this year with those four games on Wednesday.
I think there's going to be a lot of interest in those games.
I mean, I think they may want to keep it just because they're going to expand the tournament
full, a full day of games on Wednesday.
Yeah, I mean, it's again, adding two more games, but like let's just take this year.
Let's like right now the SEC has nine teams in the top 25.
So if you're Mississippi State, you're ranked in the top 25, but you might still have to play on Wednesday in the SEC tournament,
even though you're ranked in the top 25.
Do you think that we should try to avoid that?
I get the argument, but just do better.
I like the format as it is.
Heck, some of my favorite games in Nashville are Georgia versus Missouri when we're the only seven people in the arena.
So I like having all the teams there, even if they did have a stinky year.
Remember we went to that first night, and it was packed because they let everybody in for free.
Nashville's done the right thing.
Again, if you go to the SEC tournament, they now on Wednesday nights, and I don't know if they'll do this Wednesday day, too, they just let everybody in for free.
Yep.
And so it is, it is kind of a wild atmosphere.
People get hammered and they are partying and it is.
It's fun.
It's kind of fun.
I remember walking in thinking we're going to get a great seat for this game.
We were up at the very top.
The only seats we could find.
Couldn't get in.
Who's up next?
UK Greg is up next.
UK Greg, how are you?
Hey, doing good, man.
Good to talk to y'all.
So tomorrow is really, really exciting with all the Kentucky sports going on.
You know, I'm fired up at the basketball game.
But let me ask you a question.
I'm finding out of a hard time.
finding the women's game on iHeart radio now that w lap's not sharing it is there an i heart station
yeah that's billy where's billy billy would know the answers what station is the women's game on radio
985 so the men are 981 and the women are 985 perfect all right thank y'all go catch that's why that's why we have
that's right that's right just stands in the corner and he says all the answers the corner and uh just
answers the questions to make sure they're right who's next
Next. Johnny Versace is up there.
Johnny Versace. Nobody hates Louisville more than him. What's up, Johnny?
Man, do you know I hate Louisville? Is it okay if I go on a rant here?
Sorry, Rick talked over you. What did you say?
Is it okay if I go on a rant here?
40 seconds. Go ahead.
Well, first of all, U.S. is very inconsistent.
They are the collegiate headquarters of outside the line, adultery, extortion,
vacated championships and coaching searches.
Okay, that's a lot.
A bird with peace is a pagan sign of the apocalypse.
Wow, okay.
And Kenny Payne won those games, and Eric Wood sucks.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
They'll never, for me, live down the Kenny won those games.
They talk so much trash about Kenny won those games.
I appreciate the call, Johnny.
That, to me, is the epitome of Louisville.
Kenny won those games, and he only ended up winning 10 overall in two years.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio.
Love that here in Louisville.
Great energy today here at Bear Nose.
Pizza is flowing and getting ready here.
We are in Louisville-style pizza.
Louisville and Southern Indiana, pasta, salad, sandwiches.
And right now, you can get a $5 gift certificate for every $25 gift card purchase.
So you basically get $30 worth of food for $25 here if you go to beer notes for Christmas
valid through December 23rd.
Ryan, the Ohio State fan base is in shambles.
They have what ought to be one of their most exciting days of all time coming a week from Saturday.
They host a playoff game.
they host the Tennessee volunteers.
Who knows when the last time they played at Ohio State?
Two massive programs.
An easy drive apart should be one of the biggest days in program history.
But they couldn't sell out all their seats when they put the tickets on sale immediately.
A season ticket holder leaked the password to a Tennessee message board and over
5,000 tickets have already been sold to Tennessee fans.
The Ohio State President came out and said,
Hey, Buckeye Nation, please come buy tickets so that we don't end up with an orange
invasion, which of course is now making all Tennessee fans only want to invade even more.
You know, there's 90,000 people in that stadium,
but you get 10,000 people in orange.
That's going to be a pretty big group.
Could next Saturday be an embarrassing?
for Buckeye Nation in a game that should otherwise be really exciting?
It is an embarrassment.
I couldn't believe when I saw that story that they had leaked out the pass code to Tennessee fans
to let Tennessee fans buy tickets to the game in their home stadium.
That's an embarrassment.
I mean, Ohio State Buckeye fans are some of the most unrealistic fans in the world anyway.
This is just taking it to another level.
I saw one of the Ohio State commentators, Shannon, said that they think it might have been
better for Ohio State to go on the road because they're worried people are so
mad at the coach for losing to Michigan that if they don't score in the first quarter,
everybody will boo and it'll become a road game at home.
Who knew that Ohio State?
First of all, had a rat.
We've got to find this rat that leaked out that passcode.
But they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves,
especially if they let Tennessee invade their home stadium.
With it so close, you've got to assume there's going to be a lot of Tennessee fans there.
I mean, that was already the best game, but now you kind of really want to see what happens,
don't you?
Yeah, and as much as I hate Tennessee,
to give them a little credit,
they'll travel,
they'll spend a little money.
I think they'll have a good turnout.
I saw one fan account
put out a seating map
where they're trying to checkerboard it
in Tennessee.
I mean, obviously, they can't do that,
but that's what their mindset is
that they're at least making graphics
to attempt it.
Wow.
If I'm Ryan Day,
and I don't win that game,
I don't talk to anyone,
I don't look at anyone,
I walk straight to my car,
I drive out of Ohio,
and I never go back in that state again.
Oh, he won't have to worry.
They'll fire him,
but I wouldn't even look at Ohio.
Ohio on a map after if I lost that game.
Then the other big game, I think, on Friday night is Notre Dame in Indiana.
So I was thinking Kentucky plays Saturday at 5 o'clock against Ohio State, and I got a bunch of friends coming to watch it.
It's like kind of our Christmas party.
And so I go, you know what?
Pre-game show won't Beatle 2.30.
South Bend's not that far.
I think it would be kind of cool to drive up.
I might drive up Friday night and try to go to the Indiana.
name game. And then I saw, do you know what the get-in price right now on the secondary
ticket market is for Indiana Notre Dame? It's got to be high because they never play. I mean,
they're in the same state. They're probably what, two, three hours apart. They never play.
As of last night, to get into the game, not even a good seat, $980. Wow. To sit in the cold.
To sit in the freezing cold at the top row. What a, what a, what a,
privilege. But that's what happened when you get two teams in the same state that never play
each other, that it is a playoff game. It's a, Notre Dame is hosting, you know, they have a national
fan base, they're hosting a playoff game. Friday night, prime time. I couldn't believe it, though.
I'm not doing that. That's a crazy amount of money. I didn't have a number in mind, but the moment
the bracket came out, I looked at that, knowing how close Indiana is, they probably wanted that game for a
long time. I figured it would be insane. I'm married into a Notre Dame family. If we didn't have Kentucky,
Louisville, I would have considered it too. Not at that number, but that is going to be a crazy
atmosphere up there for that game. It is. I mean, $980. I mean, you can get into,
you can almost get into the Super Bowl for $980. It's insane that it is that amount of money.
To watch Indiana play a football game. Indiana of all teams. No, of that, hopefully that lady.
Sir, you're going to pay for your wife to get $980 for Notre Dame Indiana?
So not a chance. Not a chance.
Well, take her to the Louisville game. You can probably get a little cheaper.
up next. Jerry is up next. Jerry. Go ahead, Jerry.
Hey, man. First off, I'll bet in the end that drone thing that does me end up being a bunch of
really smart college kids having a lot of fun building AC aircraft. You can build a huge.
It's going to be something like that. Like all these worries, it's going to end up being nothing,
Shannon. You wouldn't see. Okay. We'll see. I'll put my money on aliens.
Two reasons. What do you explain? If we get shot down or it's a bunch of college kids?
get shot down.
It's like college kids.
College kids.
But two things.
There's nothing strategic in New Jersey.
Who the heck wants to go to New Jersey?
And number two, if it was a bunch of terrorists,
they'd be sitting over those drones to blow up, not just fly around.
The second thing I want to ask you about,
I haven't heard anything on Vandergriff as far as transfer port.
I mean, as I suspected, he had a sprained AC joint all year
and his throwing shoulder, which is a significant injury.
But I haven't heard anything about it.
him transfer.
And I expect he'd be one of the first guys in the transfer portal after he'd
on the sideline to the Louisville game.
Well, there are two things about Van derriff.
Yeah.
I mean, I, so first of all, Van der Gryph, for those of you that watch, I didn't know
this show was still on when I was growing up.
My grandmother watched this all the time.
But for those of you that watched the 700 Club, they actually do an interview with Van derriff.
I appreciate the call, Jerry.
It was, I think it aired yesterday.
So there's a guy who is a Kentucky fan who works for the 700 club and actually came and interviewed him.
I have heard that he is likely not to play football anymore.
That was just what I heard.
This may end up changing, but he was, I think, seriously injured in that Tennessee game.
And I also think maybe the concussion especially, maybe made him reevaluate whether or not he wanted to, to
keep doing it. So I've heard he wasn't going to play. He has not entered the portal, which
only further makes me think that's likely, but he hasn't made that announcement, Drew, so I mean,
I don't think it's official until he says that. I mean, he posted he's out hunting and he's still
got his milk ads. He's posted on social media, but I just, we're watching his accounts waiting
for some piece of news. You figure it could come at any minute, but we've been thinking that since
the season it did. But it also might make me wonder, some of these guys in aisle deals
force them to go to a certain period.
And part of me wonders, I could be wrong about this.
But I think UK got some of their players to sign NIL deals
that forced them to play the bowl game.
Obviously, we didn't have a bowl game.
But some of them may actually be like extended out through a period
and his may be one of them and he has to get to that period
before he makes an announcement.
That's just a guess.
But I think that's a potential.
I was hesitant to say that, but when he posted his milk ad just the other day,
it made me wonder if he has an obligation to finish out some social media
and a few other things before he truly can make a decision.
I think that, Ryan, is probably the most likely scenario.
Yeah, I mean, he was beat up really bad this year.
I mean, we've got to give the guys some credit.
He played through a lot of injuries and a lot of pain to try to do the best he could for our team.
But I think, yeah, I think you're right.
I think he's ready to walk away from football.
And for those of you that have ever had, like, a real concussion, like a serious concussion,
it can freak you out.
I mean, it can freak you out.
And if you're already thinking, look, I don't know, Shannon, if I want to do this anyway,
if the last time you stepped on a field, you got knocked out,
you could see how somebody might not want to.
And if he's not going to the NFL, in his mind, is the juice worth squeeze, you know, in that situation.
And maybe not.
I think that's exactly right.
Who's next?
Paul is up next.
Poe, go ahead, Poe.
Hey, guys.
How you doing?
Good.
Don't sound so excited.
I am excited.
I'm excited for Kentucky tomorrow.
All right.
Well, let me hear you good voice.
Hang on just a second, Po.
If you're excited, I want to hear you sound excited.
So let's start that call over, but with the excitement of UK U of L tomorrow.
Ready?
Po, go ahead.
Go ahead.
Go cat.
All right.
Nice.
Much better, Po.
Much better.
All right, go ahead.
Good luck, Shannon, tomorrow.
bash that man's head in that cage and win.
He's talking about rest.
I don't think he was just talking about in life.
You're wrestling in a cage tomorrow.
Yes, I am.
I didn't know if he said he was going to bash my head into the cage or yes, I'll get him.
I'll get them for you, Po.
No, I love you, man.
I love you all.
Yeah.
And I'm glad you had a fun, adventurous and especially safe trip out west.
Thank you very much, sir.
Yes.
Go ahead.
I want to say, as jumbled up as the SEC may be this season, regular season,
how much do you think that the tournament will mean more as far as saving will go?
I think it'll matter in the early rounds, but I appreciate the call.
The NCAA has already said the champion doesn't matter, the championship,
but in the early rounds, there might be a game, Drew, on Wednesday where the winner gets in the tournament and the loser doesn't.
That's a possibility.
Yeah, I mean, being so loaded, we obviously don't know the seating yet, but I mean, if you had a UK versus Bamer and Auburn or Tennessee vice versa on Saturday or something, that might flip a seed line between the two teams.
Yeah.
Shannon, by the way, tonight we have OVW in Georgetown at Country Boy.
Come on out. Shannon will be there.
We got actually our best roster, our full roster is here tonight and tomorrow.
And then Saturday night, for those of you in Louisville, Kentucky Louisville ends.
Historic Davis Arena.
It's the first night we've ever done.
Every match is in a cage, including Shannon the dude is wrestling in a cage,
which I think is the funniest thing I've ever seen.
And I'm thinking about doing the postgame show there just to watch you get a beat up tomorrow.
It's not going to happen.
You put me in a cage.
I'm like an animal.
I'm going to just destroy Adam Revolver.
He's probably never going.
There's a lot of animals that go in cages, though, and nothing happens to it.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Are you wait to, I'm like a possum in a cage.
You ever seen a possum in a cage?
No.
Yeah, you don't want to mess with it.
What happens with a possum?
They'll tear you apart, just like I'm going to do to Adam Revolver tomorrow night.
You're going to be a posse.
Of all the animals.
Tiger.
It's like you're a possum.
You're going to chose any animal and you decided you're a possum.
I play dead.
And then when you think I'm dead, I get you.
Are you going to, like, climb on the cage or do any, you know, aerial face?
I might do a Jimmy Superfloss Snooka off the top of the cage.
You would pass out of high.
out of you don't like heights might get a nosebleed up there but yeah it's going to be a lot of fun all right so georgetown
tonight at country boy tomorrow night uh historic davis there are only a handful of tickets for historic davis arena so you need to go ahead and do that
hey the kentucky chamber uh you know housing rind still matters it does it drives economic growth throughout the state
you can learn more at k y chamber well i'm glad i'm glad you agreed kychamber dot com slash housing uh every new home built in kentucky generates an average

Speaking of jobs, by the way, they're adding like $1 billion to the Toyota plant in Georgetown.
So Georgetown's going to be bigger than almost any city in the country here.
Georgetown is exploding.
It has built two new high schools.
They're going to have to build a third high school, I think, by the time this is all done.
We are becoming like electric battery factory of America in this little triangle.
We'll take a break and be right back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.

That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.

One person writes, Matt, I have tickets to see Shannon get beat up in Historic Davis Arena.
He never wins.
I want that to be clear.
I watch OVW all the time.
Shannon never wins a match at Historic Davis Arena.
Tell me you never watch OVW without telling me you never watch OVW.
I win all the time.
check the record books. I won my last match
as a matter of fact. So yeah. I don't know
if that's true. I was just saying to them,
if I can laugh about this,
you all can laugh about it.
I didn't
recently I went back
and I saw part of the clips from
wrestlers and when I have the
seizure incident, if
you were to go back and watch, I know that's
not easy for people to watch. But if you go back
and watch as I'm coming out of it,
one of the things they do is they sort of, hey,
do you know where you are? And they go,
The person Jeff looks at me and goes, do you know where you are?
And if you read the caption, it says garbled language.
But I understand my garbled language, and I'm trying to say, historic Davis Arena.
Even in that state, Drew, I was trying to use the word historic.
I had to get the historic in there.
So, like, if you hear it, you won't be able to tell, but I could tell that that's what I was trying to say.
All right, cats and cards tomorrow.
Drew, what do you think is our best matchup against Louisville?
our best matchup is Kentucky versus Louisville
just all of it I don't know I guess an individual matchup I think Andrew Carr might have a big game
I do too he plays well when the when the lights are a little brighter especially in the second
half I expected big game from him I'm really just feeling good overall and I'll feel even better
if I see Lamont Butler in warm-ups but I just think Kentucky's a much better team right now in the first year of this new era
yeah I think they're a much better team too I I love our bigs tomorrow
night, to be honest. I think that, you know, most, some of these teams have been able to dominate
us with the size. I think this is actually a game, Ryan, where we will dominate them with size
because our bigs, I think, are a lot better than theirs. Yeah, Louisville's kind of perimeter oriented,
and so if we do have an advantage, I think it is with the bigs. And I was going to have Andrew Carves,
my MVP, you guys already talked about him a little bit, but it could be a game where even like
Brandon Garrison has a success, because they don't have anybody to kind of match him down low as
his athleticism. Well, we finally shoot well. I mean, we shot 32 percent.
from three against Colgate, and it was our best three-point percentage in the last five games.
I mean, there is a part of me kind of going, hey, we're going to start needing to make these
threes.
I mean, thankfully, we had Brea to make five of them the other night, but we still struggle with
these three.
I think he's going to be key.
Finally, last game, Kobe Brea started to look like Kobe Brea from earlier in the season.
He struggled for a stretch of games there.
He's going to be the guy that has to get back on track.
Both teams shoot close to 30 three-pointers a game.
So we're going to talk about possibly 63-point shots going up tomorrow.
It's going to be a lot.
You think our offense is dependent on threes.
Watch Louisville.
And the difference is, again, I say knock a wood, they don't actually shoot them very well.
We haven't shot them very well recently.
They really haven't shot them very well all year except for that Indiana game,
but they want to do the same stuff we do.
They take more than Kentucky at a worst percentage.
Mark Pope's big thing is he wants to take 30 a game.
They had 30 in the last game for the first time in a couple weeks.
Louisville averages 32, but they're shooting like 27%.
So if that continues, I think Kentucky's in a good spot.
With the three point in the last game, though, everybody not named Kobe Brea went 0 for 11 in the first half,
and Robinson missed his first six.
So they saved themselves in the second half, but it was still ugly there for a while.
Yeah, Robinson was two for 11 for the game.
All right, so let's do this.
Cats, do we know the spread yet?
I don't think it's his game out.
10 and a half.
Well, we guessed, I guess 9.5.
Drew guessed 11.
A half.
So we got right in the middle.
10 and a half.
Shannon, who's going to win and tell me the MVP?
All right.
Obviously going to pick Kentucky.
They win 8, 170.
We've been talking about Kobe Brea.
I think he's going to be the guy who gets hot tomorrow.
He's going to be my MVP.
Kobe Brea.
What about you?
You know, two new teams, two new coaches,
but there's one guy that knows all about this rivalry,
and it's Mark Pope.
He played in this game for two years.
He's the guy that understands what it's about.
He knows the assignment.
So Kentucky's going to win 91.76.
I'm going to take Andrew Carr before you guys get him.
All right.
What about you?
Feeling good about the cats?
I'll say 8874.
That's a cover.
And we are going to see a record broken tomorrow with my MVP.
Kirk Reese is going to put his L's down on the bench more than anyone has ever put their
Ls down.
He might walk out doing the L's down in his street clothes.
so I'm taking Kerr as a kind of spiritual leader over there on the sideline.
I think in the last few years, in the last couple years, both programs kind of got away from what their fan bases were.
Kenny didn't have the effort to be the coach there.
Cal was in his own world.
I think now you have two guys who embrace this rivalry, but I don't care about Louisville.
I care about Mark Pope and I care about Kentucky.
I think we're coming out.
I think it's going to be a good game for a while.
We'll probably get Louisville's best effort of the year, but we're not losing at home.
to Louisville with Mark Pope.
Kentucky wins 8778, and I will say, if you're going to leave me, Jackson Robinson,
he ends up scoring the most points most of the time.
I will say this.
There's going to be a moment where we're going to have a big play.
We'll be like a two or three-point game.
I want to see Ruperina stand up and get loud, and let's beat the heck out of the Louisville Cardinals tomorrow.
Thank you all very much here at Bear Nose for coming out.
We appreciate it.
Our pregame show will be tomorrow at 2.30.
Let's beat the cards.
This is Kentucky's.
Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
And nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
In every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source,
the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories,
their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office, Blue, 42.
Hey, Wreck, my mama want you to weigh better.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season,
and I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was on.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven,
Marc keep coming to you.
He's like, you know, I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
