Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, here in Louisville, Kentucky.
I'm looking forward to the next topic with Shannon.
But first, if you look at the tax machine, Ryan, 772-745-254, I'm not sure that giving back that money would help Mark.
So if it's not going to help, I wouldn't do it.
How about $2 million?
$2 million be better.
I just think there comes a point where people are like, it's not my money, so it's just play money to them in some ways.
You know what I mean?
Because there's a lot of people listening to this show.
And I get this.
I'm one of these people that told me if you would pay me.
me one million. I'm in. Right. So the difference between nine and eight to them, Ryan, is negligible.
That's true. Yes. I don't know. I'm in the boat that I think it would help my feeling of him and the
program if he made that sacrifice. Is it too early, Drew, to talk bracketologies? Should we like,
we shouldn't look at them yet? Or are you at all interested? I'm absolutely interested. Anything about this Kentucky
basketball team and its potential of winning it all.
I'm all about it.
All right.
So then let me bring up the new bracketology just came out.
As Kentucky is a one seed in the West.
The West is in San Francisco.
Who's ready for another long drive.
Or we can fly.
Yeah, we can fly.
They may practice on Wednesday, play on Thursday.
If you want to pay for it, you can.
Now, our two seed is Gonzaga.
That would be a nice rematch.
Three seed can.
Kansas, four-seat UCLA.
But of course, what my eyes would get to is the one-seat is Kentucky playing in Cleveland.
The eight-nine matchup, Maryland, and the nine seed is?
St. John's.
Arkansas.
Arkansas.
Can you imagine Kentucky, Arkansas, second round game in Cleveland.
Wow.
What that atmosphere would be like.
and what would be on the line in such a game, Drew?
Like that would be the most nerve-wracking game since Kentucky Louisville in the final four, right?
It would.
Would you run for it or embrace it?
Because I kind of want it.
I kind of want that opportunity.
There's also the possibility we hype it up and then it's Maryland.
And we're talking about how Cal lost another one.
That would be the funniest.
Everybody says Kentucky plays Arkansas, Shannon, and then they lose to Maryland.
That would be the best answer right there.
Coach has a history going out in the first round.
I can see that happening.
Yeah, I do too.
All right, so let's talk about the drones
because I know it's all that Shannon is reading when he goes home.
I think this drone story is fascinating.
Less because of the drones, which I think are whatever,
than it is the fact of something that genuinely worries me,
which is no one believes anything anymore.
And the crazier the story, the more people buy it.
So last night, the Department of Defense, the FBI, the CIA, the Federal Aviation Association, they all released a joint statement.
Did you see that, Shannon?
I didn't read it.
They released a joint statement.
And it basically said, look, there's a ton of drones.
What is happening is there were some commercial drones that were targeted in one area.
That's the first thing people saw.
And now people are seeing things that are normally in the air and just thinking they're drones,
like planes, like little weather balloons, also said that there were, there are some military drones
that just circle America anyway and basically saying, we have no reason to believe that any of these
are out of the ordinary, but that there's basically some hysteria going on that after a couple
nights where there were more than usual, now people are saying that they're seeing everything,
and it's just normal stuff. I take it as just copycat people. People that are just trying to
pile on now. I totally agree with you. I've got a drone now. I'm going to go fly my drone. And now that'll
scare people too. Right. Now, again, there's so many fake articles out there. I read something about
there was drones kind of about the White House. Did you see that? If that's true, what's that about?
But see, see, I don't believe that. I think they would shoot those down. That's what I'm saying.
If there was a drone next to the White House, they'd shoot it down.
So that has to be us, though, is what I mean.
It has to be.
No, but I believe.
So I don't, I guess part of me is I don't understand what these people are scared about.
First of all, one thing that needs to happen, we need to have laws about drones.
Because right now, people can do whatever they want.
Would you all agree we should have rules limiting where drones can go, who can fly them, etc?
I thought there already were.
Not really.
Commercial drones can go up almost anywhere.
Outside of, I think I saw Pete Buttig, you'd say outside of over an airport or a military base, people can fly drones anywhere.
That to me should be illegal.
Yep, I agree.
Do you all agree with that?
Yeah.
You don't want them over like a stadium where the Super Bowl or the 100,000 people there.
I fully grant you that.
But right now, apparently that can happen.
Congress should, but there should be a law regulating.
But don't you think this whole thing, Ryan, is mass history.
area like people are just getting themselves worked up over nothing i think that's a lot to it yes
and i think both you guys hit on i think it once they've some were cited other people got in on
it now it becomes a thing where you know they want to get in on the that the secretie that's
not a word secretity well that guy listening put that one on the list that's a security secretie
So they want to get on the secret he would.
Of, you know, being one of the dudes that's flying a drone over some parts of New Jersey.
That's why you need to stand up.
You can't focus when you're lying down.
Exactly.
This is all happening because you're lying down.
Are you standing up right now?
No.
Are you sitting up?
He has kind of tilted back down.
About half and half.
His couch will get you, man.
Sit back up, right?
Okay.
Put your butt in the back of the seat.
Connect.
Okay.
Set erect, all right.
I'll turn off.
I'm fully erect.
All right.
Turn his mic off again.
Okay, I got it.
Drew, three minute, three minute punishment here.
I'm also turning off this fire after he said that.
I'm not like the mood in here.
Three minute, three minute.
All right.
Now, Drew, do you think it's like a bunch of worry about nothing?
Oh, no, this is absolutely something going on.
I think you all are blind.
I'm not going to say it's aliens, but this is not normal behavior.
Our next president himself has even said something's up and he's not even going places.
Oh, well, that certainly is the thing that would just.
You all can keep your heads down.
I'm looking into the sky.
All right.
So what, but all right, this is my problem, though, Drew.
What is going to convince you that it's okay?
Like, the problem is you just had the Department of Defense,
all of these agencies in charge of this,
all issue is statement saying nothing's happening, really?
That, you don't believe that.
So what is it going to take?
I don't think there's going to be anything that will convince you.
Convince me what?
That it's not a big deal.
Well, I think it's a pretty big deal.
Every news station and every website and our next president are talking about.
That's not nothing.
But they're all saying it's a drone outside right now.
Wait a minute. They're all saying that it's not anything that will hurt us.
They're just saying there's a lot of drones.
They've said more than that.
I'm not going to act like a crazy person.
What did they say?
What did they say?
I can pay you one story I read.
Why is his microphone on?
I turned it up.
My three minutes was up.
That was not.
That was a minute and a half.
Here's one story I saw.
Okay, tell me the story.
Yeah.
That there were some nuclear warheads that the Ronald Reagan administration hid in New Jersey and they're trying to find them.
Who's they?
I just, some wormhole I went down on Twitter last night.
But who is the they that are trying to find them?
The secrety people.
Maybe, yeah.
Maybe it's.
But you understand this.
I want to just do technology for a second.
You know there are satellites out there that have been up for.
years that can see like on the ground with perfect clarity.
They don't need drones.
There are already satellites that can see everything.
Like the idea that they need a drone above your house to see what's happening in your
yard, they can already do that from the space.
Right.
So any country that would want to find the Ronald Reagan nuclear warheads, they can
already do that.
They don't need a drone.
to do that.
Okay.
Have you seen the video of the two drones that go up to look at this UFO and it shoots down the drones?
Okay, you got it.
Have you seen that?
No, because it's not real.
The two drones get shot down by the UFO.
I also saw the guy who posted look at this drone that was shot down and it was a model of a Star Wars aircraft that somebody was taking to a show.
I will say it is hard to follow because the Internet is so.
reckless that there are a ton of fake videos like 90% of the videos about the drones right now.
So I guess what I'm asking you is what are you worried about?
Like what Ryan just said is the kind of thing people are worried about.
But they can already do all of those things.
Like everything, like everything spot on earth.
You think about Google Earth.
You can see everything.
Yeah.
It's not live though.
It's just it.
It is for these foreign countries.
But if this is just everyday thing.
then why are there so many meetings about it,
mayors commenting about how they're concerned.
Because they're having all,
because they're having all these people call and freak out
and they've got to figure out something to say.
They can't be like me and go,
you people are idiots.
They have to like try to,
I mean,
why is Trump talking about it?
Because he wants to be looked as the savior
when he takes home.
Would you feel different
if this was happening over Lexington instead of New Jersey?
If I looked up and saw a drone over my house,
I wouldn't like it.
granted.
But at the same time, unless we pass laws making that illegal, people can do it.
The drone can just come up to your window and look at your house.
They can't come up to your window, but there is, again, I heard Pete Buttigieg say,
people are allowed to fly drones as long as they're so high in the air and it can't be over federal air,
it can't be over airports or like military facilities.
But they can't.
And in my opinion, Shannon, don't get me wrong, it shouldn't be like that.
Yeah, yeah.
They've got to regulate it better than what they have.
I agree.
It should be regulated.
But, Ryan, I think a lot of it is, it's like when you go to a restaurant, when you go to a restaurant, you have no idea what the preparation of the food is like.
Correct?
True.
We have no idea.
We just trust it.
Right now, everything you're worried about is already in the sky.
If the Russians or the Iranians want to, they could look in your house today.
So what are you worried about?
It's already there.
If it's already there, why is everyone talking about it?
Because they're talking about it because people like you are talking about it.
And it's like it fuels the story.
It makes you click, right?
Are they talking about because they can see these drones?
We can't see the satellite.
Maybe so.
And you may be right about that.
But just because we can see it doesn't make any more dangerous than the stuff we can't see.
Actually, I would argue the stuff we can't see, Shannon, is more worried than what we can see.
Probably right about that, but I don't like it.
We've got to figure out what's going on with all these drones.
Aliens.
I hate being the dude that takes up for the establishment.
You just trust them.
But if the department, but I don't know.
I guess my point is, the monkey bread.
I guess my point is if all of the federal agencies are telling you it's okay, what else is it going to take?
Like, what would convince you otherwise?
What? Joe Rogan? Like, what's it going to take? You're not going to be convinced by anything.
I haven't seen everyone say it's okay. I've seen their meeting and they want explanations. Did you see the statement? Did you see the statement that was the release last night?
I did not. What did it say? I just told you what it said. It said that these drones, there was a bunch of them that were commercial over an area. And now pretty much what everyone is seeing are things that are always in the sky. It's just people are paying more attention.
to them.
Looking for those nuclear warheads what those commercial was doing.
It's the Reagan ones.
Yeah, the Reagan ones.
There you go.
It's the Reagan.
It's the Reagan nuclear warheads.
But nobody's ever going to buy anything anymore.
Well, that's probably true.
They're just going to walk around all day and go.
Believe what they believe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, that's what we need is everybody believing what they believe.
Get some aluminum foil, put it over my head.
It's exactly right.
You all sell like my grandmother, who would always go,
they're saying, well, if that's what they're saying, then that's good.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.

Absolutely.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stopped by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah.
You figure it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,

Hey, everyone.
It's Ryder Strong and Will Ferrell from PodMeets World.
And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Like, what was just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season, from the final attempts at gameplay,
to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of ha-hoo.
Ha-ha-hoo!
Again, we are experts.
So make sure to tune into PodMeets Twirled for all our Survivor 50 takes.

Talking Sports Radio.
If you want to see the conspiracy theories fly, just go to the text machine right now.
I love it.
I love it.
Oh, my goodness.
You want to read it?
You want to give me a sample of what you got there?
Well, they're all over the place.
Oh, okay.
But one person writes, Matt, you're covering up for the establishment because you're in the monkey bread.
Monkey bread.
I really think you should be smarter than trusting the government.
it's not about that.
I don't trust the government on everything,
but if you don't want me to trust the Department of Defense,
who do you want me to trust?
Seriously.
What organization is more trustworthy to you than them?
Reddit.
Reddit.
Okay, yeah, for sure, let's trust Reddit.
That's a good idea.
I'm not saying I totally trust the Department of Defense,
but I trust them more than whatever I see on X,
which could be fake, and probably is most of the time.
maybe they're taking the stance they're trying to calm us down.
Yeah.
Because it's really a dangerous situation.
In all seriousness, like I'm not even kidding.
What are you worried about happening?
Have you never read War of the Worlds?
Yes, and it's fake.
And people are you worried.
What are you worried about in all seriousness?
Let's say this is the worst thing you can think of.
What are you worried about happening?
Besides, it's just weird.
What are you worried about?
The world blowing up.
Okay, but what does that mean?
The world can blow up.
now. Russia could hit a button
and the world would blow up. So you can't worry about that.
That can already happen. So what are you
worried about? If it could, we should still
check on things, make sure it's not about to happen.
I bet they do check on it. I don't think
you checking on it is going to fix it.
Well, I'm not checking on it. The current drones
could be checking on it. I would bet you the American
government is already checking on that. So what
else are you worried about? That's what this could be. So do you think
American government has drones
in other countries spying on them? Of course
we do. But we don't even need the drones.
We have satellites.
We have high-powered satellites that can see on the ground any spot in the world right now.
And we've had them for years.
We don't need the drones.
Yeah, Ryan.
We don't need the drones.
Yeah, Ryan.
Because why we need an old guy McDonald's to catch the shooter?
Because he was very smart.
Tyler, what's up, Tyler?
Tyler, go ahead.
Hey, guys.
Not on the topic of drones, but so you guys talking yesterday about people who had famous big performances against Louisville.
I was wondering if you had time to play super quick card killer trivia.
Well, to give it a shot, go ahead.
Okay.
So Lamont Butler obviously had a big game, and you know that they keep track of PRAs, like in the NBA, like points, rebounds and assists.
He had 42 combined points rebounds and assist.
Since the Cal era, that is second.
To who?
In the Louisville game or just overall?
Yes, just in the Louisville game.
Who would have had the most points,
rebounds, and assist added together in the Cal era in the Louisville game?
Yes.
Antonio Reeves.
I'll give you one hint.
It was no one you all mentioned yesterday,
kind of typical to this person's personality,
understated but had a huge game against Louisville.
Michael Kid Gilchrist.
That's it. That is correct, Drew Franklin.
Yay.
Nice shot, Drew.
24 and 19, 24 points, 19 rebounds against World War.
He had 19 rebounds in that game?
Wow.
People forget about that.
Wow.
And Oscar had 24 and 14 when he played against him, but MKG went off against the cards in the first match.
1419.
That's amazing.
A good info.
I appreciate that.
That'll be my call of the day.
There you go.
I didn't realize that.
That is amazing, Drew.
24-19 for MKG.
I remember the 19 and then he scored a lot of points.
That's why I went with that guess.
It was an outstanding game from him.
Yeah.
Bill, go ahead, Bill.
Yeah, hey, Matt.
Well, first off, the greatest comedy line you said today is,
if you can't trust the Department of Defense, what can you trust?
I'm not saying you don't trust everything you say, but look at the last 20 years.
Okay.
But who would you trust?
But who would you trust over the department?
I'm not saying trust the department.
I'm saying to you what entity or organization do you trust more than them?
Oh, I'd say there's.
Give me one.
Give me one.
If you've got a bunch, give me one.
I don't think you should trust any entity in government.
Not saying that they're not trustworthy and certain.
All right.
So if we're not going to trust anything, then I don't know how you walk through your day.
Well, I'm not saying you don't trust anything.
I'm saying, but you don't trust any, I don't think you can trust any 100% of what they say.
I don't, I agree.
I agree.
But if I don't, but when we're talking about.
Just to get my point, I agree with you.
Don't trust anything 100%.
I'm with you.
Certainly not the go.
Yeah, either side, whatever side of all you're on.
But, but, but, when it comes to something like this,
I don't know how you can reasonably trust anyone more than the Department of Defense.
These people on social media and the news media,
do you really think they have any idea what they're talking about?
Oh, I think there may be aspects of it that are correct.
But at the end of the day, so with a drone, if you have a drone, you fly it up in the air.
They know exactly it has to lock into a GPS on your phone, has to have location on before you take off.
And there are restrictions on drones.
You can't just go, if you're anywhere near an airport, certain restrictions, I think you can only go up to a certain level, maybe 100 feet.
Yeah, it's a GPS on.
Yeah, so there are, but if you look, there's legislation right now that regarding drones that I'm not arguing there shouldn't be some new laws written.
You can look at these wars in Ukraine and see what these drones can do.
I'm not arguing against it.
But if you don't think these are our drones, these aren't UFOs, these aren't Iran, he's our wrestling.
I agree with you.
I totally agree with you.
Okay.
So what I'm saying, though, yeah, so there are legislation that they're trying to pass right now.
If you don't think that they're not smart enough to go, let's whip everybody up into a friend.
Totally agree.
They'll make it a lot easier pushing this.
Totally agree.
That's all.
You and I are saying the same thing.
You and I are saying the same thing.
Right.
But the same people that.
They told you to wear a cloth mask and stand six feet apart.
I'm not getting in all that.
I appreciate the call.
This is not a COVID vaccine conversation.
I'm just saying, ultimately, his conclusion is the same as mine, Shannon, which is the getting worried about it to me is ridiculous.
Yeah.
I mean, there's nothing we can do about it.
There's nothing we can do about it.
And if it's not aliens, it's not a ran, and I'll make even bigger prediction.
In two weeks, there won't be one person talking about this.
Yeah.
It'll go away.
We'll all get bored and move on or something else.
and we'll move it out. This frenzy, we will move away because that's what we do.
We get real angry about something and then we move something else.
I'm not going to Bob and James Town about this.
You just want him to sit on hold for the rest of the show?
I'm not going to. Do you think of all topics, do you think this is the one?
But this is call 574.
It's going to be going. Bill, go ahead, Bill.
Yes, sir. Go ahead, Bill.
All right, Bill. Destin, go ahead.
Bobby Jamestown's next.
Destin.
Hey, first time, Walt.
Woo-aw? What's up?
Oh, they just need to get Katina to shoot the drones down. They'll be fine.
She does.
I was...
I thought that was funny. Even if I was the only one. Go ahead.
I was calling the podcast was on last night, and the wife was asking me about what was going on in Rupp Arena.
And I just bought tickets from my boy. It's our first time going. We're from Western Kentucky.
You don't get that way very often. And she said, what's going to happen?
Because the way you act in the living room, you're going to jail.
So I guess I'm going to have to call the postgame show and get mad to come bail me out.
I'll bail you out.
I'll bill you out.
So are you going to stand during the game?
I mean, I'll stand up when it gets rowdy and, you know, have a good time.
It's just Vanderbilt.
So hopefully we win and there's no problem.
But, yeah, I'll stand some.
Well, I'm glad you get to go to the game.
Come by and see us before, all right, if you don't get to go very much.
I will.
I will.
I've been there one time many years ago when you opened.
I'll stop by again.
Thank you, sir.
Appreciate it.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
I want to talk a little football.
We return.
It's KSR.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J.
He'll make them pay.

The texts are still insane.
You're going to get them all day.
I'm fine with it.
I like read it.
Like the thing is about insane text, people are still like, they're still nice.
I like all of you.
I like 99.
The crazier in some ways, the better.
This, Shannon, is the, I'm not saying this is true, but this is the kind of.
explanation, Shannon, I can believe. Okay. Okay. The BBC, which by the way, I read the BBC more
for news now than anything because I think it's more objective than most American outlets.
Says that there were some radioactive material in New Jersey that went missing two weeks ago.
And that British intelligence believes the drones are American drones looking for the material
that went missing.
Okay.
All right, I'm not saying that's true, but that's an explanation that could make sense to me.
Why wouldn't they just come out and tell us that?
Everybody would stop talking about and speculating.
Because they probably would want people, then they would start freaking out about what the radioactive material was.
I guess the Belleville, New Jersey mayor had said that in a press conference earlier this morning.
There you go.
That makes sense to me.
Not saying that's it.
I don't know.
But that is an explanation that makes some sense to me.
And you may be right, Shannon.
Maybe they should just say that.
Right.
Because if we don't worry about the radioactive material, we're worried about something else.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
So you're wearing the way.
Then everybody will start worrying about the radioactive material.
Because we are a freak out culture in some way.
At least we know what it is instead of just guessing.
But what does that do for you?
You know what it is.
You know what it is.
Do you feel better?
Yeah.
But aren't you going to worry about the radioactive material?
No, I know what it is.
It's fine.
They'll take care of it.
So you trust the government to take care of that.
What the more scared of is the unknown.
I agree with you.
Yeah.
So when people know they're not going to be scared about it.
To some extent, I agree with you on that.
But I also wish I sound like such a simple person going trust the, but I trust the establishment.
But you do have to.
If you don't trust people in the establishment, you can't leave your house.
I try not to.
Okay.
If I could do the show from home, I would.
Fair enough.
Did you watch, Ryan, did you see the end of the Marshall, Vermont soccer game last night?
I saw the highlights.
I didn't watch it, but I did see the highlights.
It was kind of awesome.
It was awesome.
Vermont has never won a national championship in anything, Drew.
Anything.
Any sport.
They're in Vermont.
Like when I say Vermont, what comes to your mind, Drew?
Give me the first thing when I say Vermont.
Oh, they don't have a Taco Bell.
Is that true?
At one time.
They might now, but that was my fact years ago.
Okay.
Shannon, first thing you think of when I say Vermont?
Snow.
Snow.
Brian?
Yeah, our trip up north when we went through it and there was nothing there but snow.
I'm going to now say soccer because they were in extra time and the goal was exciting.
The dude, like he went around him and the goalie came out and he scored.
And the way people went crazy.
Was the game in Vermont?
Why were there so many Vermont people there?
Was that where the game was?
I'm not for sure where it was, but I think I saw this was like Vermont's first ever even game in a national title game.
If you haven't seen the video, you've got to go see it.
It's awesome.
It's cool. It's what's great about sports, Ryan.
Fans losing their mind at Vermont where they'll probably never win anything again and getting to win a national team.
You think those fans were sitting down?
No.
I think the police officers were threatened to throw those guys in jail?
I do not think.
It was.
You saw it, Ryan.
It was a great scene last night.
It was cool.
And you said that's the good part of sports, especially collegiate sports.
You get those moments like that for this school that'll maybe never have a moment like this ever.
again. You don't get many soccer walkoffs like that. No, you don't.
Sudden deaths. It was a true walkoff in soccer to win the national championship.
Yeah, they don't do that in a lot. Marshall, by the way, is, I don't know if people know this.
In men's soccer, that's our rival, Ryan. We're in the same conference, and they're kind of our rival,
and they went to the championship game. The championship game. Good run for them, too. Yeah.
So, who's up next? Oh, actually, I can pick it. Let's go to Matt.
Actually, Bobman Jamestown's up. But I think Matt is the next one on the list. Go ahead, Matt.
Yeah, can you hear me?
Yes.
I wanted to call out another caller, Tio.
He was a gentleman that used to call in a couple times during the summer.
He had some bangers back to back.
I'd love to hear a Tio Louisville L's down rant if you're out there listening.
And then a question with Ohio State coming up, is there any more news on the Bradshaw situation?
He's playing.
He's playing.
I think it was apparently some sort of domestic.
something and I don't know if it got dismissed, but the school, he's back playing now.
So I think he will play in that game on Saturday.
Gotcha.
That's all I got.
Appreciate it.
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Did you say happy Christmas?
He said happy Christmas, did you?
Happy Merry.
Same thing.
Do people say happy Christmas?
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas combined.
You get them both in one.
Okay.
Happy Christmas.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone say happy Christmas.
Ever, but.
We'll start it.
What?
Do it.
It is Christmas.
Yeah.
Be nice.
Do it.
Bob and James Town.
Go ahead, Bob.
Season's greetings, man.
Merry Christmas.
You know, all this excitement about drones.
Well, what about all this excitement, college basketball, postseason bracketology?
I mean, we haven't even gotten any conference play now.
I mean, it's ridiculous about like drone theory.
I mean, there are rules on drones.
owns. Anything above
eight ounces, you have to have
a license. There are strict
regulations on them.
And as far as this
business up in New Jersey,
it probably is. I mean, if there's some
nuclear radioactive
material, you know, loosen the community,
it could be a threat.
There you go. It's all I'm going to say.
There you go. It's all he's going to say. Thank you, Bob. Merry
Christmas.
As far as Bob calls Goshen, that was pretty
What bad was it?
If you're ranking Bob calls.
No, it was certainly one of them.
That was one of them.
I don't know how he transitioned from drones to bracketology.
I didn't totally get that connection right there.
He was just waiting on you to hang up on him, I think.
He's covering as much ground as possible.
He's getting as much as he could in.
Cat Daddy, how are you?
Hey, thanks, Matt.
I appreciate it.
Two things real quick.
One, my moniker's catching some shade on your show there.
And it's time to need to explain.
I'm just an old retired basketball coach.
I've been listening to you for about 10 years.
And my grandkids call me G Daddy.
And they said, what are you going to do in retirement?
And I said, I'm going to sit on the boat and call in to KSR like Bob from James Town every day.
All right.
And so I didn't realize how cringy it sounded until you started thinking that I'm a hooker instead of a grandpa.
No, no, you're different.
It's a little different when it's like you're just saying it.
And that one, it's just the nitty.
nickname for college kids, it's a little much.
Yeah, I know.
Understand.
But I thought it's cute because my five-year-old grandson thought of it.
Number two, when Cal first came to Kentucky, we always said he knows what it's like to sit in that chair.
I'd like to say when you watch Pope and the postgame shows and the things he's done off the court and buy an ice cream and everything,
I'd like for us to refer to Coach Pope as he knows what it's like to walk in those shoes.
It's the truth.
I appreciate the call.
Because he understands the fan base.
Nice to hear from you.
I appreciate the call.
Drew, I was thinking, we talked about this the other day.
And can you think of one thing?
Let's say you were Pope's PR guru.
You were his public relations.
Is there anything you would tell him to do differently?
Can you think of anything?
I really can't.
I think we'll eventually get to a point where we get some Pope's peak going on.
There's a little, everything is super and beautiful and perfect when he talks.
Right now that's exciting.
That might get a little stale over time,
but that's me nitpicking thing he's doing right now.
I really, I mean, he beat Duke in Louisville already.
What more do you want from the gas?
There's top four in the country,
number one in the bracketology,
even though Bob and Jamestown doesn't like it.
He's doing everything he needs to do.
At the Sunday last spring, Mitch Barnhart,
was talking about checking boxes.
He just keeps checking off more boxes each time he gets an opportunity.
Can you think of anything, Ryan, at all?
Keep gas in your wife's car.
He's probably the only thing he needs to make sure he does.
I mean, he gives you nuggets.
Like he, like, you know, Cal used to make fun of us, basketball bennies.
Pope embraces it and he talks about things like championship chest.
And he doesn't just go, do you see what I did?
See what I did?
You see what I did?
Look at that.
Do you see what I did?
Instead he goes, we have championship chess.
We teach the blah, blah.
Our fans, I think, love that, Ryan.
100% love it.
And, in fact, you know, the little tidbits we see at halftime,
talking to the coaches, the players, you know, what are you seeing?
You know, trying to make some coaching adjustments and things like that.
It's something we've not seen in a long time.
I think that's another thing that the fans love about him.
It is the most wonderful time of the year.
You got hoops, you got football, you got hockey, you got it all going on.
Playoff is this weekend, some awesome games, Tennessee going to Ohio State.
They're now saying there may be up to 40% of the fans there are Tennessee fans.
That's crazy.

I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit,
suit of the thing, we get so
wrapped up in the chase that we don't
realize that we are in
possession of the thing and we're
still chasing it and we don't know when
we've done enough. Because people scoreboard
watch. Life becomes about
wins and losses. Steve
Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find
it important to be a good person while you hear on

Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely. And that's two different

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night bases on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the fly.
Man, he running up the court, licking his fingers
while he got the ball, like,
after you go through a training camp with that, IZed,
you figure it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.

So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Yeah.
Just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season.
From the final attempts at gameplay to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of
Ha, ooh, ha, ha, ooh.

This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me,
he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants.
want you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Hey,
my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clifford show on the Iheart radio app,

So apparently happy Christmas is a British thing.
Yeah.
I didn't know that.
This is in the John Lennox song.
Did you know that?
Did you know that Happy Christmas was a British?
thing? I didn't know it was specifically British, but I guess I'd heard it in this song before.
Yeah, didn't know that. One person writes, Matt, the police officer who came inside and said to the fan, they should sit down, was actually a Lexington Metro Police Department sergeant.
He has no authority to do that inside Rupp Arena unless it's an emergency situation. He is there for traffic control. It was a mistake.
what do you think about that right yeah i mean i know that they've out of that guy and i don't want to
get into it but you know his stuff is out there and if if what you read earlier just earlier in the
show about well you can say he's a little bit that's what you want to say you want to say he's a
little old fan right but that's not i don't think that i don't think that has anything to do with it but
he is a traffic guy right like that like he's out there that actually is not his normal i don't know
what i'm talking about but beat or whatever you would say for during those games yeah
and while we're discussing it,
there are people who have written in who said
he never actually threatened to arrest the guy,
but he did say something like,
well, if you don't do it,
you can spend the night in the jail or something.
What does that mean if it doesn't?
Sounds like a threat to me.
I mean, I don't know.
How would you interpret that if it wasn't?
I don't know.
I was just passing along what some people said.
He never really said.
What does that mean besides,
okay, is there a difference between I will arrest you
and you'll spend the night in jail?
Like, does he is like, is he just going to should go there voluntarily?
Like, what's the difference?
I don't, I don't know.
I guess he said something like, yeah, you can sit down and you can spend the night in jail,
one or the other.
Sounds like an ultimate.
Drew, that sounds like to be arrested.
It would seem like.
Yeah.
If I'm on the other end, I'm interpreting that as a threat to be arrested for sure.
Yeah.
I don't think the Louisville thing matters at all.
It's a fun plot twist for people on the internet.
Yeah, I don't think that matters.
If anything, he's just surprised that people are out of basketball
game standing up if he's watching
Louisville. He probably just shocked about the whole scene
altogether. What is this? What's going on in here?
One person writes, Matt,
I tend to agree with you that people
overreact on things, but I'm amazed
how much you will trust the government.
So here we go again.
You should have known by now that no matter
who is in charge, people lie. Of course
they lie. But I don't understand
what people
are trusting. If you, like,
if you don't trust the government, who do you trust?
You trust, you know, the Theo Vaughn podcast, Shannon.
Do you trust KSR?
Do you trust?
I mean, like, I love people who say think for yourself.
I'm for that.
But like almost all of our opinions come from somebody else.
I hope people know that.
Like, I hope you know.
Like, you don't just wake up organically and have a million thoughts.
You're reading them from somewhere.
Do you trust them?
Like on some point, you can't get along in society, Shannon,
unless you trust people. There's no other way to do it.
Yeah. It's just picking now which entity you do trust is harder than ever.
But you shouldn't really trust any of them, but at the same time, there are some basic things we have to agree on or society will collapse.
And I worry that we're like not even agreeing on those things anymore.
But that's a different topic. Debbie, go ahead, Debbie.
Hey, how are you guys doing?
Good. How are you?
I'm fine. Thanks.
I was going to say when you guys were talking about that all the time there's against U of L played well,
I think Rex Jackman, I think he had 35 points.
Oh, he had a great game.
Yeah, I think we mentioned him kind of at the end, but he had a great game.
Thank you.
Okay.
Well, the other real quick thing was that I know if you remember that game with Isaac Humphreys,
where he, after a play, like, went dead.
Texas A&M, yeah.
bounce that ball and it didn't go above his head.
But anyway, that was my husband.
He's an official in high school.
He said that was Pat Adams calling that thing too.
Kind of, you know, adjustment call, which really I wasn't necessarily to change the whole
dynamic of the game.
You're exactly.
I did not realize.
I appreciate the call, Debbie.
I did not remember that was Pat Adams.
Did you, Ryan?
No, I didn't remember that.
It not only changed the dynamic of the game, changed how we view.
Isaac Humphrey. That's what we remember about.
Also changed our seating in the tournament.
Yeah. You remember? Because Texas A&M got a seed higher than us.
They became like a, I'm trying to think.
They were a three and we were a four. We were a three and we were a four, I think,
or something that year. You're exactly right. Changed everything on that team.
We talked about Rex and his dunk. We didn't mention it was over Kenny Payne.
The poster donkey had over Kenny Payne in that game.
That's one of the more iconic Kentucky Dundee.
donks really a whole time. Terry, what's up, Terry? Yeah, I can still see Cal walking down there
facetiously clapping his hands. Way to go, Pat. Great job, Pat. Any of you guys can answer this,
but Drew in particular, because I know Drew's like me, likes to listen to the calling show. I called
last night, and I just wanted Drew's take on it. Did he, do you think I came in too hot on the Amari
body language question, and did you think Coach Pope answered it in a way that he acknowledged
that he might have a body language problem?
Can you summarize it for us?
I didn't hear the whole show.
Yeah, so I heard it, Terry, actually.
You said something like, you kind of criticized Amari's body language, and Pope sort of
acknowledged it and said it was something they worked on.
I didn't think you came in too hot.
You were a little hot, but that's just you.
But he did.
But I do think Pope sort of acknowledged that, especially in.
that game, he thought Amari let the play before get to him too much and had some body language
issues.
And quickly, you're all take, when we're talking about defense and especially the last two
games, Colgate had 10-3s, Louisville had 14, did you think some of that is just like,
you can't cover the whole floor?
Some of it, sometimes you just got to hope they miss.
Well, Pope addressed that yesterday.
I appreciate the call, Drew.
Pope said, look, we looked at Louisville coming in.
They were a poor three point shooting team.
In the first half, we decided to give them some.
They made them.
But then in the second half, he said we put our hands in their face and they just went in.
And he was like, there's not a lot you can do about that.
Collecting that data.
I mean, you know, we're still getting used to this change,
but he obviously does a lot of scouting and game planning.
And Louisville, it was a poor three point shooting team.
It was like 26 point something coming into the game, even though they took 30 attempts.
So as the caller pointed out, I mean, you want them to.
take low percentage shots and it just happened it was three pointers unfortunately they were going in
on saturday yeah pope said in the second half uh he believed ryan they only took two open threes one of them
was the lefty guy who made made it coming off a screen and the other one the guy missed and so he was like
i you know he said he felt like we contested most of the ones that they made you know that's the
the second time in a week you know the gonzaga game they gave gonzaga a lot of wide open threes but
that would find out maybe that was by design i think for the
they had the same philosophy for Louisville.
Look, they take a lot, but they don't make a lot.
We're going to give them that.
Yeah.
And it clearly, you know, we ended up winning the game, so it worked out.
All right, so starting tomorrow is our bowl championship challenge.
We're going to do it a little differently this year.
I'll explain more of the details tomorrow.
But if you go to the bar between Wednesday and Saturday,
you'll pick the winners of the playoff games coming this weekend.
And we're going to end up giving over $8,000 away.
at KS Bar.
So the first way to enter will be to be there sometime between Wednesday and Saturday,
and you'll pick the games, the playoff games, Ryan, that will be taking place this weekend.
That's an awesome prize.
